  4. Your Disney World trip may end, but the magic doesn’t have to! ©Amazon Between park price hikes and the fact that vacations only last so long, more fans are turning their homes into mini versions of their favorite Disney spaces. This list rounds up 21 Amazon finds that let you bring a little bit of that Disney Parks magic into your everyday life. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. The Wall Space You Forgot Was Basically a Blank Canvas ©Amazon That empty wall in your hallway has been staring at you for months, waiting for something better than a random calendar. The BigWig Prints Mickey Mouse Wall Decor set gives you three 8×10 posters packed with nostalgic Mickey artwork and quotes that work in a kid’s bedroom, a bathroom, or a home office just as easily. It is one of those pieces that quietly turns a room from “unfinished” into “intentional.” view ON amazon Your Coffee Order Is About to Get a Major Upgrade ©Amazon Gas station coffee is fine, but it is not going to make your Monday morning feel like anything special. Joffrey’s Coffee Disney Sorcerer’s Apprentice Mickey Blend is the official coffee of Disney World, so you get that same sweet, citrusy, smooth cup you remember from your resort mornings, minus the plane ticket. It is a simple swap that makes your morning feel a little more like you’re back in the parks. view ON amazon The Tiny Detail That Makes Your Vanity Look Finished ©Amazon Jewelry piles up fast, and most trinket dishes look like an afterthought. The Crystal Pumpkin Carriage Jewelry Box solves that with a gold wireframe design straight out of Cinderella’s story, complete with rolling wheels and a hand-painted interior for your rings and earrings. It doubles as a decorative piece even when it is empty, which is more than most jewelry boxes can say in the first place. view ON amazon You Are One Poster Set Away From a Themed Room ©Amazon Plain walls are a missed opportunity, especially if you have got a Disney fan in the house who talks about their last trip nonstop. This set of nine vintage Disney Parks Wall Art posters covers classic attractions like Splash Mountain and Peter Pan’s Flight in that retro travel poster style collectors love. It works for a full gallery wall or just a few standout pieces scattered through the house. view ON amazon A Window Decoration That Does Not Scream “Seasonal Clearance Aisle” ©Amazon Most hanging window decor looks cheap after one season. The Disney Winnie the Pooh Tree Hanging Acrylic Wall Decor has a stained glass-inspired look that feels more like a keepsake than a decoration, with a soft, calming design that works year-round instead of just during a holiday. Hang it in a nursery, a reading nook, or any spot that could use a gentle pop of color. view ON amazon Two Parks, One Set, Zero Guesswork ©Amazon Picking just one Disney park to represent in your decor always feels like playing favorites. The Magic Kingdom and Epcot Wall Art Prints set solves that with two 8×10 prints on premium photo paper, so you get both parks without having to choose sides. The archival ink keeps the colors sharp for years, which matters more than people think when it comes to wall art. Grab this duo before your next redecorating project. view ON amazon Dinner Table Decor That Actually Gets Used ©Amazon Salt and pepper shakers usually sit in a cabinet until Thanksgiving, but this pair is different. The Disney Ceramics Stitch and Angel Salt and Pepper Shaker Set features the two characters nose-to-nose in sculpted stoneware, making them a genuinely cute addition to a table you actually set every day. It is a small detail, but small details are what make a kitchen feel personal. Grab this sweet little duo for your table. view ON amazon The Figurine That Turns a Sad Character Into Something Sweet ©Amazon Eeyore has a reputation for being a little gloomy, and honestly, that is part of his charm. The Winnie the Pooh Eeyore Holding Butterfly Miniature Figurine leans into that with a hand-painted stone resin design featuring rosemaling swirls and a pop of color from the butterfly. It comes in its own window gift box, so it is ready to give without any extra wrapping, or you always have the option to keep it for yourself! view ON amazon Your Bare Wall Deserves Better Than Another Framed Print ©Amazon Sometimes framed art is not the answer, and this wallpaper does a better job of transforming a whole room. RoomMates Disney Mickey Mouse Grey Block Print Peel and Stick Wallpaper brings a Scandinavian-inspired pattern with subtle Mickey heads woven throughout, and the peel and stick application means no commitment and no mess. One roll covers 20.5 inches by 18 feet, plenty for an accent wall. view ON amazon You Will Fight Your Family Over This Blanket ©Amazon The blankets in your house always disappear the second the weather turns, and this one is going to be the reason why. The Jay Franco Disney Mickey Mouse Faces Feather Knit Fluffy Throw Blanket measures 50×60 inches and is made from soft feather knit fabric featuring Mickey’s many expressions. And it’s machine washable, so it can survive actual daily use instead of sitting folded on a shelf for looks. view ON amazon A Softer Way to Bring Princess Energy Into a Room ©Amazon Not every Disney fan wants bold colors and bright characters covering their walls. Disney Princess Sketches Charcoal Peel and Stick Wallpaper takes a quieter approach with hand-drawn, sketch-style artwork in soft hues that feels more grown-up than a typical princess theme. It comes in the same 20.5-inch by 18-foot roll, easy enough to make it a weekend project. view ON amazon The Figurine That Makes a Great Excuse to Start Collecting ©Amazon Once you have one Jim Shore Disney Traditions piece, you are pretty much locked into collecting the whole line, and that is not necessarily a bad thing. The Disney Traditions by Jim Shore Tangled Rapunzel with Lantern Figurine features Rapunzel kneeling beside a lantern with her hair highlighted in clear tinted resin. It’s detailed enough to be a centerpiece on a shelf rather than just another knickknack. view ON amazon A Gallery Wall Without All the Guesswork ©Amazon Building a gallery wall from scratch usually means hours of measuring and second-guessing spacing. The Mickey Expressions Wall Art Bundle skips that entirely with four coordinating prints designed to work together right out of the box, ready to hang as a set. It’s a shortcut to a finished-looking wall without the trial and error! view ON amazon Halloween Town Deserves a Permanent Spot in Your House ©Amazon Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas fans tend to want Halloween decor available every day of the year, not just in October. This Framed Canvas Map Wall Decor lays out Halloween Town’s hot spots — from Jack’s house to Oogie Boogie’s lair — in a sketched map style framed with MDF wood. Since it works as general decor and not just seasonal decoration, you can keep this hung up year-round! view ON amazon A Cookie Jar That Does Not Look Like a Cookie Jar ©Amazon Kitchen storage containers are usually pretty forgettable, but this one is not that. The Silver Buffalo Alice in Wonderland Flowers and Mushrooms Glass Cookie Snack Candy Jar features whimsical illustrations pulled straight from Wonderland, and the secure lid keeps whatever you store inside fresh. It works just as well holding candy on a counter as it does tucked into a curated shelf display. view ON amazon Something Small That Steals the Whole Room ©Amazon Miniature decor pieces have a way of getting way more compliments than the big stuff, and this one is proof. The ASVP Shop Alice Mini Door is a hand-painted resin door inspired by Alice’s storybook world, complete with a fully sculpted 3D doorknob. It works as a shelf accent, a mantelpiece, or even a party centerpiece if you are hosting a storybook-themed celebration. view ON amazon Your Pin Collection Deserves Better Than a Drawer ©Amazon If your Disney pins are still sitting in a bag somewhere, it is time for an upgrade. This Castle Pin Display Cork Board is shaped like an actual castle and made from self-repairing cork that protects pin backs while holding your collection securely. At just under a pound, it mounts easily with adhesive patches or a hung rope for a display that finally does your pins justice. view ON amazon Breakfast Just Got a Lot More Magical ©Amazon A regular waffle iron does not exactly make Tuesday morning feel exciting. The Disney Classic Mickey Waffle Maker changes that with nonstick plates shaped like Mickey’s silhouette and an illuminated indicator light, so you know exactly when it is ready. It is officially licensed by Disney and makes breakfast feel like a small event instead of a chore. view ON amazon The Coffee Cup That Gets a Reaction Every Time ©Amazon Regular mugs do not usually make people stop and say something, but these will. The JoyJolt Disney Mickey Mouse 3D Glass Cups feature an optical 3D Mickey design visible through the double-walled glass, so every drink looks a little more special. They are microwave, dishwasher, and freezer safe too, which means the novelty does not come at the cost of practicality. view ON amazon A Map Poster Set for the Fan Who Loves All Four Parks Equally ©Amazon Choosing a favorite Disney park is basically impossible, so why decorate like you have to? This Disney Theme Park Map Poster set includes four 12×16 posters covering EPCOT, Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom in a pastel, vintage-inspired style. The set works well in a kid’s room or playroom, without feeling too juvenile for adult spaces either. view ON amazon A Candle That Brings Back a Very Specific Kind of Vacation Feeling ©Amazon Certain smells take you right back to a specific resort lobby, and that is exactly what this candle is going for. The Walter & Rosie Candle Co. Polynesian Scented Candle is inspired by the tropical Disney resort, blending sweet melon and creamy coconut into an 11-oz soy candle with about 40 hours of burn time. It is a small way to bring that resort feeling home between trips. view ON amazon Bringing a piece of Disney World into your everyday life does not have to mean a full room renovation or a trip back to the parks. These 21 finds cover everything from wall art to kitchen upgrades to collectibles, giving you plenty of ways to keep that Disney feeling close no matter how much time has passed since your last trip. Well, now, we’ve finally got a first look at what this ship looks like. Legend of the Seas is the third icon class ship in Royal Caribbean’s fleet, but the first icon class ship to sail in Europe. It can handle a capacity of around 5,600 passengers with double occupancy. It’s literally like a floating city with various neighborhoods with things like a water park, skywalks, surf simulators, pools, restaurants, and more. It’s HUGE. It looks like so much fun! But it also has nice places to just relax, like this lovely on-ship garden, which is part of the ship’s Central Park neighborhood. ©USA Today Here’s one of the many dining areas on the ship. ©USA Today The ship has a total of eight neighborhoods, each with its own theme. ©USA Today The neighborhoods include a kid-friendly area called Surfside

  6. Disney’s latest hotel — the Lakeshore Lodge — is just about a year away from opening, and fans (it’s us, we’re fans too) are looking over all of the concept art Disney has released of the new hotel. ©Disney As we’ve been looking over all the details of the sprawling nature-themed resort, a couple of elements of concept art for Lakeshore Lodge’s sprawling pool and water recreation area have jumped out to us, connecting it to Disney World’s storied past. Dubbed The Wetlands, the outdoor recreation area will sit just beyond the hotel’s lobby and immerse guests in an area that’s “surrounded by the beauty of Bay Lake.” The Wetlands will feature a mixture of several different kinds of areas designed for guests, including Heron Shores and Otter Spring, each area loaded with interactive water features that draw inspiration from the classic 1995 animated film Pocahontas, specifically the lyrics “the heron and the otter are my friends” from “Colors of the Wind.” The Wetlands at Lakeshore Lodge ©Disney The Daydream River offers guests a “leisurely” tour around the Wetlands area and allows them to see the landscape. The Wetlands at Lakeshore Lodge ©Disney At the center of the Wetlands sits Lakeside Lagoon, a zero‑entry feature pool that will sit as the main hub of the area
Lakeside Lagoon at Lakeshore Lodge ©Disney
and includes a water slide. ©Disney While the presence of both a lazy river and a water slide may seem like simple amenities to some, longtime Disney fans know that their presence at the Lakeshore Lodge also harkens back five decades to River Country. ©Wikipedia Disney World’s first water park, River Country, was located on the same site where the Lakeshore Lodge complex is currently located. The park first opened near the Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground on June 20th, 1976. Themed as a “Tom Sawyer swimmin’ hole,” the park -– which was originally known in its planning stages as Pop’s Willow Grove –- was revolutionary thanks to numerous water-based attractions that would become industry standard at water parks in future decades. This would include water slides, an inner-tube river (just like the Lakeshore Lodge’s Wetlands), a sand-bottom lake, and a play area featuring tire swings and bridges. Disney’s River Country, the former water park on the site ©Disney River Country was initially very popular, though after the openings of Typhoon Lagoon (1989) and Blizzard Beach (1995), the park dipped to being Disney World’s third-most popular water park by a large margin. Still, it came as a surprise to many when the park closed for its annual winter closure on November 2nd, 2001, and simply never reopened. Disney initially remained silent on the issue for months before releasing a statement in 2002, which said the park would be closed for the remainder of the year. The park remained closed in 2003 and 2004 before Disney officially announced in 2005 that River Country was closed for good. Its closure was due to a slump in tourism post-9/11, as well as rising maintenance costs. River Country Footage The River Country site sat vacant and exposed to the elements for years, becoming a haven for urban explorers, until the final remnants were torn down in preparation for the construction of Lakeshore Lodge. ©bioreconstruct The presence of a waterslide and a lazy river within the concept art for the Wetlands area and the Lakeside Lagoon pool is not likely a reference to River Country, as those amenities would likely be present in the water area of any new major Disney hotel property, but that doesn’t mean that they’re not especially apt, given their location on the site of the former water park. 7. There is something special about escaping to the great outdoors without ever leaving the magic of Walt Disney World Resort. Nestled on 750 acres of pine and cypress forest, Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground feels like a destination all its own. From peaceful mornings surrounded by nature to evenings spent gathered around a crackling campfire, every stay offers a chance to slow down, explore, and create a Disney vacation that feels a little different from anywhere else. Now, there are even more ways to enjoy a day at the resort, with an expanded Meadow Swimmin’ Pool area and a recently refreshed Reception Outpost that makes arriving at this beloved retreat feel smoother and more welcoming than ever. Make a Splash at the Expanded Meadow Swimmin’ Pool Area The Meadow Swimmin’ Pool has always been a favorite place to cool off between adventures, and the recently expanded area makes room for even more fun and relaxation. A new zero-entry pool and additional deck space have been added alongside the existing pool, effectively doubling the space for all to enjoy. Whether you prefer a relaxing swim, kicking back poolside, or heading straight for the 67-foot corkscrew waterslide, there are plenty of ways to make the most of a sunny resort day. The rustic setting also includes a special nod to a piece of Walt Disney World history. Keep an eye out for an old-fashioned barrel carriage featuring Mickey Mouse in his camping gear and a tribute to Disney’s River Country, the original Walt Disney World water park that once welcomed guests next door to Fort Wilderness. A Refreshed Welcome at the Reception Outpost The resort experience begins from the moment you arrive, and recent updates at the Reception Outpost help make that first welcome feel even more seamless and personal. The refreshed space allows cast members to connect with guests as they arrive and help families get settled before heading out to explore everything Fort Wilderness has to offer. Above the fireplace, new artwork adds a playful layer of Disney storytelling to the entry area, featuring Mickey Mouse and friends enjoying outdoor adventures along the water in a scene that feels right at home in the resort’s rustic setting. As you look up, you will also spot three playful scenes featuring Donald Duck’s nephews, Huey, Dewey, and Louie, enjoying some of the activities that make a Fort Wilderness stay so memorable, like archery, fishing, and camping beneath the trees. Make a Day of It at Fort Wilderness One of the best parts of a Fort Wilderness stay is that there are plenty of ways to enjoy a memorable day at the resort between theme park adventures. Fort Wilderness Tip: After checking into your campsite or Disney Vacation Club cabin, be sure to take a look at your resort recreation guide for a full list of available activities. Feeling adventurous? Start the morning with a horseback ride along serene woodland trails, grab a paddle and explore the waterways by canoe, take in the scenery during Wilderness Back Trail Adventure or test your aim during the Fort Wilderness Archery Experience. There are also plenty of simple ways to enjoy the natural scenery, whether you are cruising around the resort on a golf cart, hopping on a bike or taking a relaxing walk beneath the pine trees. As the sun goes down, gather around the fire for Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Campfire Sing-A-Long, where resort guests can roast marshmallows and spend time with two of their favorite Disney pals. If you are looking to even more singing, dancing, and laughter to your evening, I highly recommend making a reservation for Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue. It’s been delighting generations of guests at Pioneer Hall with lively entertainment and a country feast for more than 50 years, making it a can’t-miss experience for your Fort Wilderness stay. More Reasons to Stay in the Magic A day at Fort Wilderness can feel worlds away, but the rest of Walt Disney World Resort is still within easy reach. Resort guests can take advantage of complimentary transportation, including watercraft and bus service, to help keep their vacation moving smoothly. Staying at a Disney Resort hotel also comes with conveniences like early theme park entry, giving you a 30-minute jump on your Disney day at all four theme parks with valid admission. Whether you are planning a full resort day, winding down after a theme park adventure, or simply looking for a peaceful place to reconnect with family, Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground offers a one-of-a-kind way to stay in the magic. 8. Summer is almost always incredibly hot in Disney World and Orlando as a whole, especially in July and August. EPCOT under sunny skies However, if you’ve been in the city for the past week, you’ve likely been feeling the effects of the intense heatwave that’s been affecting Orlando. If you were hoping for a reprieve this weekend, we’ve got some bad news. The heat wave is expected to continue throughout the weekend, so you’ll need to be prepared. According to FOX 35, the high temperatures are expected to last through Saturday, with real feel temperatures inching towards 110 degrees Fahrenheit. The temperatures themselves will sit in the upper 90s, potentially breaking records in more than one location. ©FOX 35 Rain chances remain very low throughout the weekend, partially due to the wind across the Atlantic ushering a thick plume of dust towards Orlando. While that means rain won’t cool things off, it also means we could see some gorgeous colors during sunrise and sunset, so keep an eye out for those, while also being careful with air quality concerns. ©FOX 35 However, early next week, chances of rain do increase dramatically, with downpours and more frequent showers being possible Sunday through Tuesday specifically, and will remain elevated Wednesday into Thursday as an upper-level disturbance moves towards the area. ©FOX 35 So, what should you do if you’re in the parks this weekend? Here are a few of our best tips to keep you safe and as cool as possible: Stay hydrated, while also ensuring you include electrolytes in your diet with frequent snacks and electrolyte packets Take breaks frequently, especially in the middle of the day when heat is highest Reapply sunscreen often, especially for those who burn more easily Bring a cooling tool, such as a fan, cooling towel, cooling ring, etc. TRON We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all the latest news that could affect your upcoming trip, so stay tuned to DFB! 9. It’s a question that may come up often when you start planning your Disney World trip: should you stay at a Disney-owned hotel or at one of the many non-Disney owned Disney World Resort hotels? Considering you get much of the same amenities — and perks — at both, you might start looking at your options. Let’s eat! If you’re considering a Disney World Resort hotel in Disney Springs, though, one hotel you might consider is the Renaissance Orlando Resort and Spa. Now, this hotel is a good option, and it even has its own table service restaurant, American Kitchen Bar & Grill, which we’ve really loved in the past. Well, we recently revisited American Kitchen Bar & Grill, so let’s see if it still lives up to the hype. American Kitchen Bar & Grill is a casual restaurant with a menu that offers American-inspired food and drinks, as well as elevated versions of comfort food like clothesline bacon, chicken wings, salads, sandwiches, salmon, pork chops, and desserts. We started with the AK Frita Meatballs, which are Pork and Beef Blend Meatballs with Spiced Tomato Sauce and Potato Crisps for $17. As this was a media event, our appetizers were served family style so we could split them among our table. AK Frita Meatballs The meatballs have a slight sweetness, thanks to the sauce they’re cooked in. They’re also very tender with a slightly fried exterior and a juicy interior. We honestly could have eaten another bowl of these. Seriously. That’s one tasty meatball We also ordered the Grouper Ceviche appetizer with passion fruit, Florida orange segments, tomato, red onion, avocado, cilantro, and tortilla chip for $18. This was our favorite of the two appetizers we tried. The ceviche is light and fresh with a lovely citrus flavor coming through. The fish is tender and flaky. Grouper Ceviche Then you’ve got the crunchy tortilla chips and the smooth and creamy avocado slices. The flavors and textures are so well-balanced. Delicious with wonderful, crunchy chips For the entree, we got the Crispy Chicken Gnocchi Mac + Cheese. It’s made with crispy chicken, gnocchi, smoked gouda sauce, and sun-dried tomato parmesan foam for $22. It’s comfort food, but elevated. You get some nice, crispy chicken that’s also tender. However, we thought the gnocchi was a little undercooked. Now, we had this before, and it was cooked perfectly, so it may just be an issue of how the dishes were all being prepared at the same time for the media event. Crispy Chicken Gnocchi Mac + Cheese The cheese, though, made up for any slights. It was gooey and melty and cheesy in the best way possible. Beautifully prepared chicken For dessert, we had Key Lime Pie ($10). The crust was thick and crunchy, while the filling was both sweet and tart, as well as creamy. We also liked the strawberries served on the side because they were fresh. There was also strawberry sauce that added more tartness and sweetness on top of the lime, but we thought it was distracting from the pie itself. We’re purists when it comes to key lime pie! Key Lime Pie Overall, though, American Kitchen Bar & Grill is a restaurant that we usually really appreciate, and if you’re staying at the hotel, it’s a no-brainer to have a meal here. We’ll be back with even more food and restaurant reviews, so stay tuned to DFB for more. 11. If you’re like me, then you’re no stranger to waking up early at Disney World! After decades of getting up early on vacation, these are the five habits that can set you up for a better Disney day. Disney’s BoardWalk Inn If you’ve ever wondered how some Disney World pros seem to accomplish so much before lunch, the secret isn’t just staying until park close; it’s how they start their mornings. Expert Disney fans know that the first 30 minutes of the day can set the tone for everything that follows, and a few smart habits before leaving the hotel can save time, money, and stress once you’re in the parks. If your alarm is going off around 6:30 AM, here’s exactly what the experts are doing. They Eat Breakfast Before Heading to the Parks One of the biggest mistakes you can make is skipping breakfast because you’re eager to get to the parks. Rope dropping on an empty stomach usually means you’ll end up paying for it later with low energy or spending valuable park time waiting in line for food. The good news is that many Disney Value Resort food courts begin serving breakfast as early as 6:30 AM, making it easy to grab something before you head out. The All-Star Resorts each have a food court that opens at 6:30 AM. The Intermissions Food Court, the World Premier Food Court, and End Zone Food Court all open early. Even if you’re not staying at a Value Resort, eating a quick breakfast in your room or at your hotel’s quick-service restaurant gives you a much better start to the day and helps you maximize those lower morning wait times. Gluten-Free Mickey Waffles from Intermission Food Court at Disney’s All-Star Resort They Start Hydrating Experienced Disney visitors don’t wait until they’re inside the parks to start thinking about hydration. Before heading out, they fill their reusable water bottle with ice and cold water at the hotel so they can begin drinking immediately. Florida heat and humidity can sneak up on you, even during the morning hours, and getting a head start on hydration makes a huge difference later in the day. You’ll find complimentary ice and water available at most Disney resorts, so take advantage of it before you leave. Start drinking your water early! They Get Their Coffee Now — Not Later If coffee is part of your morning routine, don’t assume you’ll just grab one once you reach the park. Expert Disney fans know that stopping for coffee during the first hour after park opening often means giving up precious time when attraction waits are at their lowest. Instead, they grab their caffeine before leaving the hotel. Many Disney resorts have coffee locations that open early, including Contemporary Grounds at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, making it easy to pick up your favorite drink before heading to the bus, Monorail, or parking lot. You’ll thank yourself later when you’re walking onto attractions instead of waiting in a coffee line. Coffee from Contemporary Grounds They Apply Sunscreen Before Walking Out the Door Everyone knows they’ll need sunscreen at Disney World, but seasoned visitors don’t wait until they reach the park entrance to put it on. Applying sunscreen at your hotel gives it time to absorb before you’re standing in direct sunlight during Early Entry or rope drop. You’ll still want to reapply throughout the day, especially after sweating or spending time at a water attraction, but getting that first layer on before you leave your room means you’re protected from the very beginning of your park day. Sun Bum Sunscreen They Double-Check Their Park Bag The best Disney planners usually pack their park bag the night before, but they don’t stop there. Before walking out the door, they do one final check to make sure everything actually made it into the bag. Is your portable charger fully recharged and packed? Did you remember your charging cable? Is your sunscreen inside instead of sitting on the hotel bathroom counter? Taking 30 seconds to double-check essentials like sunglasses, medications, cooling towels, water bottles, and wallets can save you from having to buy replacements in the parks or worse, trekking all the way back to your hotel. Park bag essentials They’re Ready to Book Lightning Lanes Like a Pro Perhaps the biggest reason expert Disney fans are awake by 6:30 AM is that they’re preparing for Lightning Lane bookings. If you’re staying at a Disney Resort hotel or another eligible hotel, you can purchase and book Lightning Lane passes up to seven days before your check-in date for the length of your stay, while other guests can book up to three days before their park visit. By the morning of your booking day, you should already have the My Disney Experience app downloaded, everyone in your travel party linked together, and a game plan for which attractions you want to prioritize. Know which park you’re visiting, understand which Lightning Lane experiences you plan to reserve, and have the app open and ready. The guests who seem to snag all the best return times usually aren’t getting lucky; instead, they have likely prepared in advance. Big Thunder Mountain While you absolutely don’t have to wake up early at Disney World to have a great day, these habits are some that experts use that you should try. 14. The Caribbean is a popular vacation destination for tourists known for some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. It’s a popular spot for cruises, including Carnival, Royal Caribbean, and even Disney Cruise Line. ©Getty Images If you’re traveling to the Caribbean soon, then you need to know about this new travel advisory issued by the U.S. State Department. The Turks and Caicos Islands are now under a travel advisory. This new travel advisory urges Americans to exercise increased caution in the Turks and Caicos Islands due to crime. The bulk of these crimes are in the Providenciales area, locally known as Provo, and police may have limited resources to investigate them. Turks and Caicos doesn’t have a U.S. Embassy, so the U.S. Embassy in Nassau, The Bahamas, helps U.S. citizens who are victims of crime in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Grace Bay, Providenciales ©Visit Turks and Caicos Islands Petty crime is common, especially in popular tourist locations, so it’s important to stay aware of your surroundings. Most crimes against foreigners are crimes of opportunity, like purse snatching and pickpocketing. Tourists should also beware of overcharging and scams in tourist areas. You may encounter aggressive vendors; some will offer “free” gifts that lead to demands for money. Additionally, reports of sexual assaults in the Turks and Caicos Islands are frequent. Most sites have tourist police available to help in these situations. ©U.S. Department of State If you decide to travel to the Turks and Caicos Islands, the U.S. Department of State recommends the following actions: Enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to get important updates and alerts from the U.S. embassy or consulate. Enrolling helps the U.S. embassy or consulate contact you or your emergency contact in an emergency. Review the Country Security Report for the Turks and Caicos Islands. Do not answer your door at your hotel or residence unless you know who it is. Use caution when walking or driving at night. Do not physically resist any robbery attempt. Review their information on Crime Abroad and for Victims of Crime. Visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website for the latest Travel Health Information for the Turks and Caicos Islands. Whether you’re a first-time or frequent traveler, use the International Travel Checklist. The U.S. Department of State highly recommends that you buy travel insurance before you travel. Check with your travel insurance provider about evacuation assistance, medical insurance, and trip cancellation coverage. 15. After months of questions, we FINALLY know what’s coming to Disney’s BoardWalk Resort. Disney’s BoardWalk Construction After what felt like an eternity of sitting vacant, big changes are finally coming to some long-abandoned spaces at the popular Deluxe Tier Disney World Resort. Since JellyRolls – – the hotel’s very popular longtime dueling piano bar location – – shut its doors back in April 2025, the BoardWalk’s nighttime offerings have been limited. However, that’s about to change thanks to Hurly-Burly! This new spot will “welcome guests for fun-filled afternoons and glamorous evenings inside a historic seaside theatre with a vibrant BoardWalk story that spans over a century.” ©Disney The lounge will offer two distinct experiences for guests. During the day, Hurly-Burly will act as a family-friendly venue with activities and trivia games. At night, it will transition to a 21+ live music venue with coastal-inspired cocktails and light bites. So far, Disney hasn’t confirmed if Hurly-Burly will be coming to the former JellyRolls exact location, but the concept art and construction at the former site do seem to hint at such. The Former Jellyrolls The opening of Hurly-Burly will add another dining option to Disney World’s already large selection of offerings. Between the reviews, menus, and reservation strategies, it’s a lot to sort through. Our Guide to Disney World Dining pulls it all together so you can stop stressing and focus on the fun without feeling like you’re missing a thing! The BoardWalk will also see the opening of a new Basin location. Dubbed Basin on the BoardWalk, the new location for the longtime Disney partner will offer the expected curated collection of handcrafted products including natural soaps, botanical bath salts, bath bombs, body butters, shampoo and conditioner bars, as well as interactive elements that make the experience more unique, including a custom bath tea blending counter, a make-your-own-soap station, and a soap embossing press for a personalized finishing touch. ©Disney Both Basin on the BoardWalk and Hurly-Burly are scheduled to open later in 2026, as is a yet-unnamed quick service location. 16. Disneyland is all about NEW these days! Welcome, BigBoi Lumpia Co! The theme park is wrapping up its big 70th anniversary celebrations and planning BIG things for the future. While we made our way through the resort hunting for all of the big updates and new changes, we noticed we were a little peckish! What better way to satisfy our hunger than to check out the brand-new BigBoi Lumpia Co. snack stand in Downtown Disney? Welcome to Downtown Disney, BigBoi Lumpia! This is a Los Angeles-based company that focuses on Filipino comfort food, specifically lumpia. This new snack stand offers up three savory lumpia and two sweet lumpia. During our stop by, they also had a sign for a limited-time apple pie flavor. The menu During our stop by, we tested out 3 of the new flavors, starting with the Pork Lumpia for $14. This snack comes with a sweet chili sauce and 12 lumpia in each box. Two of our items together! While they might look small and simple from the outside, the inside packs a punch of flavor. The seasoning on the pork was very apparent and perfectly savory. Every bite into the snack came with a perfect crunch thanks to the deep-fried thin pastry that serves as the outside. These were filled with pork, veggies, and more for balance in every bite. A look inside the Pork Lumpia The sauce that comes with it pairs wonderfully with the pork. It was slightly sweet with a nice kick of subtle heat from the chilis. This could be sharable, but we didn/’t want to share it! Be sure to dip it! We also tried the Chicken Lumpia for $14. They are also served 12 in a box with sweet chili sauce on the side. Don’t be fooled, from the outside they look just like the pork, but there is a difference! The chicken and the pork lumpia are side by side. In our opinion, the chicken isn’t as flavorful as the pork, but we still really enjoyed them. The chicken flavor is milder than the pork, with less savory seasoning. The chicken also seems to have more veggies in each bite, but that could also be that the vegetable flavor stands out more with the milder chicken. The sauce has the same sweet and spicy balance that made each bite a bit more dynamic and exciting. If you’re looking to try the snack but want something with more familiar flavors, this might be a good option for you! A look inside the chicken! Finally, we grabbed the Ube Lumpia for $13.50. This was the sweet option of the bunch, and it was quite a bit bigger than the savory ones. These come with a vanilla icing sauce. The Ube compared to the Chicken Lumpia For those unfamiliar, ube is a purple yam that is native to the Philippines and offers a sweet and almost nutty flavor. In our experience, Ube can be a difficult flavor to master because it can often times come across as artificial. Luckily, that was not the case with this dessert! This snack had a natural sweetness that we really appreciated, and the texture was a bit thicker. Inside the Ube! The sauce was a real standout here. It was similar to a thick vanilla pudding that paired beautifully with the crunchy lumpia. This was a big hit for us! How tasty! Honestly, you can’t go wrong with any of these items based on our experience, and they’re perfectly shareable for your entire group. Be warned, you might need to go back for more if you really love them! We can’t wait to see more changes as they come to Disneyland, but for now, you can find us over at BigBoi Lumpia. 17. A lot of people look at Dollywood and Disney World and say, “Yeah, they’re both theme parks, so what could be so different about them?” A LOT of things actually! Welcome to Dollywood! There are so many differences that if I were to sit here and name them all, we’d be here for a couple of hours. Some things Disney does better, and others Dollywood does better. Luckily, we’re only going to be focusing on ONE thing that Dollywood and Disney World do differently. And this time, it’s Dollywood that has the upper hand. Let’s talk room service — one resort has one and the other
not so much. The only places you’ll find room service on Disney World property are at Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and at the Swan & Dolphin Resort Complex: the Swan and Dolphin Hotels and the Swan Reserve. Grand Floridian Resort & Spa Guests staying at the Grand Floridian can order private dining options to their rooms for both breakfast and dinner. The breakfast menu is served from 7 AM to 12 PM, while the dinner menu is available from 5 PM until 11 PM. Guests can order items through the QR code located in their room. In-Room Dining at the Grand Floridian At the Swan, Dolphin, and Swan Reserve, meals can be ordered through their mobile app, and guests must be present to receive room service. The resorts offer a breakfast menu from 6 AM to 11 AM, a reserved lunch menu from 11 AM to 12 PM, and a dinner menu from 5 PM to 12 AM. Walt Disney World Dolphin Where Dollywood has the upper hand is that they offer room service at ALL of their resorts, which include the HeartSong Lodge & Resort and the DreamMore Resort & Spa. Guests have the ability to order from two menus — the breakfast menu

and the all-day dining menu. ©Dollywood If you want to order breakfast to your room while you’re there, you’ll get a little door hanger with all of the breakfast options that you can fill out the night before and hang on the outside of your door! You’ll be able to choose the items you want and the time you want them to be delivered in the morning. Dollywood Room Service Door Hanger Guests can order breakfast from 7 AM until 11 AM, and dinner from 11 AM until 11 PM. What we ordered! And did you happen to spot what we got? THAT’S RIGHT! For $13, you can get the famous Grist Mill Cinnamon Bread delivered fresh to your door for the perfect start to your Dollywood morning! You can also add a side of apple butter or extra icing for another $1.59. So yummy! So, since Disney World only offers room service at two resorts (and one isn’t even technically owned by Disney) and Dollywood offers room service at their signature resorts — with the beloved Cinnamon Bread, I might add — we think Dollywood wins this category! 19. We are all about food, but that shouldn’t come as a surprise since “Food” is literally our middle name! Now, we are obsessed with Disney World and Disneyland food, of course, but we have no problem leaving the parks to try out other restaurants, too. Delizia Al Limone at Simply Capri Well, a new restaurant is coming to the Orlando area soon, and it will sit right across from a restaurant that you should also consider leaving Disney World to check out. The new restaurant is Flatlands Bar & Grill, and it’s the latest creation from Nick Valenti, who also owns Simply Capri (right across the street
and we’ll talk about that in a sec). He’s also a partner in Vivoli il Gelato’s U.S. locations (yep, as in Vivoli il Gelato in Disney Springs). Flatlands Bar & Grill Both Flatlands Bar & Grill and Simply Capri are located at Flamingo Crossings, which is less than 10 minutes from Disney World. Flatlands will be serving up fresh fish, steaks, gelato, and “the best burger in Florida.” Much of the menu will be made with local ingredients, with many drinks sourced from Florida breweries. The restaurant’s concept comes from the flatlands of Florida, as well as the people who have immigrated there. Flatlands Bar and Grill The restaurant will feature a huge bar, as well as a comfortable outdoor seating area. Inside, the decor will feature murals based on Florida, including a heavy emphasis on orange groves and citrus. Murals inside Flatlands Bar and Grill Valenti wants the restaurant to be a place you can visit every day, but with an upscale feel. It’s going to be perfect for celebrations, of course, but it’s also going to be good for a random day of the week when you just don’t feel like cooking. Featured murals Flatlands Bar & Grill is across the street from another restaurant Valenti owns, Simply Capri, which opened in 2023. Simply Capri is more of a casual spot with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. We had a chance to visit the restaurant earlier this year, and let’s just say, we’ll be back. Simply Capri Some of the highlights of our meal at Simply Capri included Ossobucco Di Vetello and the Delizia Al Limone. But you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu there. Ossobucco Di Vetello So if you’re in Disney World and want to escape the chaos of the parks for lunch or dinner, consider a trip to Flamingo Crossings to check out either of these restaurants — your stomach will thank you! 24. One of the most convenient things that many Disney World restaurants offer is the Walk-Up Waitlist that lets you use the My Disney Experience app to get on a waitlist to get into a restaurant, even if you don’t have a reservation. In fact, sometimes it’s the best way to get into the popular spots! The Beak and Barrel! Well, two popular Disney World lounges that have been EXTREMELY hard to get reservations for have added the Walk-Up Waitlist option, so it just got easier to visit those lounges. YAY!! We were checking the My Disney Experience app today and noticed that when we looked at the Magic Kingdom map and selected The Beak and Barrel, the park’s Pirates of the Caribbean-themed lounge, it had a button that said: “Join the Walk-Up Waitlist.” Say what? It’s also listed as available on The Beak and Barrel page in the app. ©Disney We did click on the button, but we got an error message, so it doesn’t seem to be working just yet. ©Disney However, once we went back on the app, we got a full list of restaurants with the Walk-Up Waitlist, and it said: “Walk-up list is currently unavailable to join due to high demand.” INTERESTING. ©Disney Well, that’s not all. Over in EPCOT, the new Spaceship Earth-themed lounge there, GEO-82, was showing the same button to “Join the Walk-Up Waitlist.” When we checked it on the list, it also gave us the error, and when we tried to go back to the previous page on the app to view the list, we got the same message: “Walk-up list is currently unavailable to join due to high demand.” ©Disney So this feature might not QUITE be ready just yet, but it looks like it’s something that could be coming very soon. This will make getting into these lounges a lot easier for those who can’t manage to snag reservations. GEO-82 We’ll be keeping an eye out for more updates from Disney World, so stay tuned to DFB for more. 6 HUGE Disney World App Changes CONFIRMED Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! 25. We love going to Epic Universe in Universal Orlando. Where else can you race Mario, ride dragons, fight monsters, and battle wizards all in one day? But there’s one thing we love more than riding the rides – all of the food! Frosted Owl Sundae As soon as we saw this pop up on the menu, we had to run to Epic Universe and try it ASAP. Spoiler alert: this little guy is one of our new favorite frozen treats in the park! The Frosted Owl Sundae is $15.99 at Frosty Moon. This is chocolate-hazelnut and vanilla ice cream layered with marshmallow topping, graham crackers, and a toasted marshmallow, served in a souvenir owl cup. We’ve seen these online in a clear owl cup, but a team member told us that it comes in gold like this when the clear cups sell out. Frosted Owl Sundae The ice cream tastes exactly like a s’more. The soft serve is Nutella-flavored, so it’s chocolately and nutty, then the vanilla soft serve is mixed with marshmallow fluff to make it super sweet and creamy, and the crushed graham crackers add the taste with some crunch. Frosted Owl Sundae We saw the Frosted Owl Sundae all over our social media until we finally caved and tried it, and now we can say that it’s worth the viral hype. For $16, it tastes amazing, and the souvenir cup is an awesome bonus for the price. If you’re a s’mores fan, then this is the ice cream for you! If you want to try it yourself, head over to Frosty Moon in Celestial Park at Epic Universe. Frosty Moon If one treat isn’t enough to satisfy your sweet tooth, you’re in luck! Satellite Shakes just opened in Celestial Park and serves up even more delicious frozen treats. You know we immediately ordered the Captain Cacao’s Starlight Voyage, which is a chocolate shake layered with ganache, marshmallows, blackberry syrup, and praline crunch. Oh, and it’s topped with chocolate whipped topping, blue starlight ribbon, and Captain Cacao’s signature hat. Whew — it’s a lot, but it was tasty! Read our full review here. 26. When you work at Disney World, there are certain rules Cast Members have to follow, and some of them may be very surprising. Disney World Cast Member Some of the rules are obvious — you can’t be on your phone while you’re on stage (unless it’s an emergency, of course), you have to be dressed nicely, you have to be respectful to the people around you, etc. But some things are a little less clear, specifically regarding the shoes you have to wear. Here are the harsh shoe rules Disney World Cast Members must follow. Instead of boring uniforms, Disney World employees — better known as Cast Members — wear costumes. Not only are they working at the theme parks and resorts, but they are a part of it, making magic for the visiting guests. Magic Kingdom Cast Member And when it comes to the costumes, there are two categories of Cast Members — Costumed and Non-Costumed Cast Members. Costumed Cast Members are those whom guests will typically see. Those Cast Members are the ones given a specific costume to wear “on-stage,” AKA anywhere guests have access to be in Disney World. These costumes may be specific to a certain land, show, attraction, role, etc. Custodial Cast Member Non-Costumed Cast Members are those who are typically behind the scenes and cannot traditionally be seen by the regular guests. These costumes may include chefs, behind-the-scenes entertainment Cast Members, etc. Magic Kingdom Cast Member When it comes to the footwear Cast Members wear, Disney has specific rules each person must follow, Costumed or Non-Costumed. This is known as “Disney Look.” That means being the most presentable and well-put-together you can. Every role and location can differ, but Cast Members can check with the Costuming Module in The Hub (Disney’s online resource for company employees) or with their leader to ensure proper style and color. Main Street Bakery Cast Members For Costumed Cast Members, these are a few rules that must be followed: Shoes must be kept clean and in good condition at all times Dress shoes must be solid in color “with minimal contrasting logos or markings and made of a polishable material” Athletic shoes must be solid in color with minimal contrasting logos It’s recommended that shoes be slip-resistant Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Cast Members For Non-Costumed Cast Members, their rules are as follows: Shoes or boots must be appropriate for your business/unit location Sandals are not permitted Dress shoes are permitted to “have contrast soles, an open toe, open heel and/or sling back” Magic Kingdom Cast Member However, one of our team members who worked in food and beverage at Disney World said something different than one of the rules above. She said that even though it’s only recommended, most Cast Members — specifically the ones working in food and beverage — actually NEED to have slip-resistant shoes. We love Cast Members! There are a few ways to get shoes that are approved, through Disney itself or by being REALLY careful when purchasing your own. Our team member opted to get them through Disney because she just thought it was easier, especially when you are working in a location that needs to be “in story.” EPCOT Cast Member There are also specific rules for specific costumes. For example, if you have to wear black shoes, you MUST wear black socks, and those socks can’t be too tall! Not only could you get in trouble for wearing the wrong shoes, but you could also get in trouble for wearing the wrong socks! Magic Kingdom Cast Members Cast Members have A LOT of rules they have to follow, and it’s all to make magic for you! So, the next time you pass a Cast Member, be sure to thank them and tell them that they’re doing a great job! And stay tuned to DFB for more Disney news like this! 28. We go to Disney World every day. Yep, we’re living the dream. A lot of what we do, though, is search for new things, stuff we haven’t seen on previous days. That’s how we keep you updated on everything, after all. Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom So what kind of things are we looking for? Well, we’re always on the lookout for new merchandise (so you can be on the lookout for those perfect souvenir finds for your next visit), but we also keep an eye on construction and other updates in the parks and at the hotels. Most recently, we visited seven Disney World parks and hotels, and we have a ton of new things to share with you as a result. So let’s get started! EPCOT We made our way around EPCOT, stopping in what may be one of our favorite gift shops in the parks, Creations Shop. For those of you who are all about the ears (okay, it’s us, too), we found some very pretty Happy Birthday Ears. Look at how sparkly they are! Birthday Ears Well, sparkly must be the trend right now, because we spotted another pair of Iridescent Sequin Ears that could plus up any outfit. You can also snag these online right now! So sparkly We also spent some time visiting EPCOT bathrooms, because we literally DO go everywhere when we visit Disney World, and that includes the bathrooms. So we’ve been spotting the Aunt Flow free feminine hygiene product machines throughout EPCOT, including in the American Adventure Pavilion bathrooms, the Morocco bathrooms, and more. Actually, we’re starting to see these throughout Disney World now, although some of the new machines haven’t been filled yet. They’re free How about collecting some pins from around the WORLD? Well, you can grab some World Showcase Country Pins at World Traveler, which will make you look like, well, like a world traveler! New pins! Gotta’ love a place that lets you shop, eat, and drink around the world. Disney’s Animal Kingdom We made our way over to Jumping Junction at Bluey’s Wild World at Conservation Station to check up on the kangaroos. This area isn’t completely open yet for visitors because the kangaroos need time to adjust to being around people. Look at these sweet babies! However, we noticed that Cast Members were starting to take slightly bigger groups through the experience to see these little guys, so it’s only a matter of time. They’ll be growing up and getting braver every day. Magic Kingdom Over at Curtain Call, two new medieval princess hats have arrived, including a Daisy Princess Hat
 Daisy Princess Hat
and a Rapunzel Princess Hat. These are so much fun, and they’re the perfect thing to wear to Fantasyland! Rapunzel Princess Hat However, we also spotted some new hats that have us questioning some things. So here’s a Daisy Hat. And as you can see, it’s got a big Daisy head that sits on YOUR head. Fine, right? Daisy Hat There’s even a Donald Hat, too. And again, it seems okay
Donald Hat But then things get weird because the hats are made so that there are tiny little Donald and Daisy bodies hanging from the back. Um
Disney, are you okay? Do you need an intervention? Um
what’s going on here? Okay, let’s not talk about that anymore. Anyway, we also spotted a new pressed penny machine in the shop! New Pressed Penny Machine So you now have even more new pressed pennies to collect in Magic Kingdom! Disney’s BoardWalk Inn The ex-Big River Grill and Brewing Works location now has more construction walls up around it. What’s going on here? The old Jellyrolls had a truck moving stuff in and out of the building, but we didn’t see any sign of furniture. Mostly, we just saw wood planks. The old Jellyrolls building However, insulation has been installed in the wall. This location is set to become a new lounge called Hurly Burly. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort We don’t know what’s happening over at Kona Island, but macarons have been replaced with macaroons. We’re not sure why, and it doesn’t seem like there was a demand for coconut macaroons, but here we are. They are a little easier to bake, though, so maybe that’s it. Macaroons There’s also a cupcake available to celebrate the live-action Moana movie. It’s the Pua Aloalo, which is a vanilla cupcake with hibiscus-lychee mousse for $6.79. Sounds interesting! New cupcake! Whew
we see a lot just in one day when we’re visiting Disney World, but now you have an idea of just how busy our days can be, on top of reporting all the latest news Disney drops throughout the day.
