The heat right now in Disney World and Orlando as a whole is no joke, and it takes work to make sure you don’t get dehydrated or end up in the sun too long. It’s amazing how quick the heat can ruin your Disney World vacation, so it’s imperative to find spots to beat the heat. Finding places to cool off is essential! We’re in the parks nearly every single day during all seasons of the year, so yes, we’d like to say that we’ve become experts on finding places to cool off. Over in EPCOT, when you’re walking around World Showcase and need a break in the AC without a ton of people crowding around you, this is one spot you’ll want to head to! Over in the Japan Pavilion, you can head into the Bijutsu-kan Gallery to not only find an incredible exhibit dedicated to Kawaii and its importance to Japanese culture, but for AC that is absolutely CRANKING. Bijutsu-kan Gallery This is actually one of the few spots in Disney World that we would describe as freezing, even on the hottest summer days, because the AC in here really is turned on to an all-time high. Because it’s also a museum-style layout, it’s usually very quiet inside, and there are usually fewer than 10 people wandering around. Paired with the fact that there’s also seating to enjoy, it truly is a must-stop to recharge. It’s also just a great exhibit! Plus, it also gives you a super fun exhibit to experience while you take your break. We personally love learning new things in Disney World, especially in EPCOT when it’s about other countries, and this exhibit is a great way to do just that. You can learn a lot in here! If you’re not near the Japan Pavilion but you’re looking for other places to cool off in EPCOT, we also recommend CommuniCore Hall, especially when there’s not a festival going on, as it’s usually pretty empty, and the entirety of The American Adventure, both the building itself and the actual show. Are you someone who loves Disney? Do you watch all of the movies? Do you go to the theme parks every chance you get? Well, you’ve come to the right place! Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingidom Each week, it feels like Disney is constantly dropping new information, details, and more, all connected to the company. Each week, we do a wrap-up of the biggest news from the week so you don’t miss a single detail. This week had some fun changes and one major milestone! Every week is different when you’re following the Disney company! From theme parks to television to movies to hotels, there is always something changing with the company. This week included a MAJOR Disney milestone that honestly makes us emotional. Disney’s Most Popular Lounges Changed… And Then Changed Back Disney really played with us this week! Earlier in the week, we noticed that both GEO-82 and the Beak and Barrel finally added walk-up lists to each lounge! This means it would be easier to experience each dining option, which previously required reservations to experience. ©Disney We were thrilled! Our entire team was so excited to see this change! Sadly, it was short-lived. Disney quickly removed the option from the app. This leads us to believe that this feature is coming in the future but it wasn’t quite ready to be launched. ©Disney When it was live on the MyDisneyExperience App, it showed that both lounges were full due to high demand, so even when it was live, it wasn’t really available to guests. We’re really hoping Disney moves these two lounges back to the walk-up waitlist soon. We won’t be surprised if the company waits until after the summer rush is over. FINALLY! It Just Got Easier To Get Into These 2 Disney World Lounges! A Major Change Comes To Disney Springs Over in Disney Springs, it seems like the changes are never-ending. Several stores have closed, and several new ones have already filled their place. Even transportation has gotten some now-infamous updates. Now, one very popular dessert stop has found a new (although temporary) home. Temporary Ghirardelli location That’s right, Ghirardelli has moved! Ghirardelli Soda Fountain & Chocolate Shop’s original location has now closed. The dessert shop is expected to reopen in Spring 2027 with new updates. The remodeled store will feature increased guest seating, more efficient guest checkout, and a “few surprises.” Construction at the old storefront The new, temporary location is located in the Disney Springs Town Center area, in the former Sprinkles Cupcakes location, which was more recently home to the Black Tap Crazy Shake pop-up. The new spot still has plenty of those famous chocolate squares we still love. Ghirardelli chocolates The reopening date for the Ghirardelli store hasn’t been confirmed yet, but we’re glad we can get our sweets in the meantime. CONFIRMED: MAJOR Changes Just Hit Disney Springs Disneyland Hits A MAJOR Milestone Finally, the biggest piece of news today is that Disneyland officially welcomed its 1 billionth guest! That’s right, one billion people have officially visited the original Disney theme park. A young boy named Andres Robles from Arizona was selected as the honorary one-billionth guest. He and his family participated in a ceremony at the train station where they got to reveal a new sign to mark the milestone. ©Disney The entire family got to meet Mickey, Minnie, the Disneyland Ambassadors, and Disneyland President Jill Estorino! After the big ceremony, they were gifted a VIP tour guide for the day. That meant they could visit historic backstage areas (like Walt Disney’s apartment) and skip the lines for the most popular rides. ©Disney We can’t help but get emotional thinking about what this means to the entire Disney team. The park officially opened in 1955, and it was only expected to welcome 15,000 guests that day. Over 28,000 people showed up that day to be part of history. Now, one billion people later, Walt’s little theme park continues to make history. What an incredible accomplishment! Disneyland Hits Major Milestone Just Days Before 71st Birthday What a week to be a Disney fan! We can’t wait to see what changes keep coming as the year continues. From dining discounts to merchandise deals, who doesn’t love to take advantage of the perks Disney offers? But one of our favorite perks is Disney’s secret lounges hidden across the parks! ©Disney Disney Vacation Club members can escape the heat (and the crowds!) by visiting the Disney Vacation Club Star View Station at Disneyland. But that’s about to change soon, because Star View Station is temporarily closing! Star View Station is located in Tomorrowland at Disneyland. The lounge is filled with retro space-theming and historic Disney gems, including the old K7 Space Suit worn by the Tomorrowland astronauts in Disneyland Park! There are a variety of amenities, including a special Disney Vacation Club Member Services team, plenty of seating, complimentary Wi-Fi, device-charging stations, and complimentary soft drinks. ©Disney But Star View Station is temporarily closing soon! Starting on July 27th, 2026, the lounge will close for routine maintenance work. It’s scheduled to reopen on an unannounced date in the fall of 2026. Star View Station lounge Once Star View Station is closed, you can head to a temporary lounge space inside Starcade, located near the exit of Space Mountain in Tomorrowland, where you’ll find a sectioned space made available for Disney Vacation Club members. Starcade seating While the Disneyland Disney Vacation Club lounge is closed, you can still access the neighboring Disney California Adventure‘s DVC lounge. The Golden Vine House near Wine Country Trattoria offers ice-cold air-conditioning and plenty of seating. Golden Vine House We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all of the closures coming to Disneyland. Stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more Disney news! Change has always been a constant at Walt Disney World, whether it be rides, lands, perks, or even snacks! We love M&M’s! The array of snack offerings at Walt Disney World is often in flux, adapting to the times and trends (giant cupcakes, anyone?) as well as to changing health guidelines. That’s likely going to continue into 2027. Disney World has already entered the dot cake game thanks to the Dot Donut available at Disney Springs’ Everglazed. Available in vanilla and strawberry variants, the donuts offer the exact crunch one would expect. We’d expect to see more dot cake-inspired snacks to pop around Disney World in the coming months. Dot Donut Protein-Heavy Snacks Despite protests from many in the medical community, heavily processed protein-based snacks are truly having a moment right now. For example, according to USA Today, the popular meat stick brand Chomps saw a reported 206% increase in its sales growth in 2024, part of $3.3 billion in overall sales for the meat snacks category in the same year. ©Amazon This growth of popularity isn’t limited to meat sticks either. For example, Smuckers has begun offering higher protein variants of their popular Uncrustables, including Up & Apple (peanut butter and apple-cinnamon jelly) and Bright-Eyed Berry (peanut butter and strawberry jam). “We’re redefining what it means to be a morning person by helping consumers start their days in a more delicious and convenient way,” said Chris Achenbach, Marketing Director at The J.M. Smucker Co., when the new offerings were announced. Uncrustables at Flower and Garden! Phasing Out Food Dyes Last April, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Food and Drug Administration announced an initiative to phase out (though not officially ban) “petroleum-based food dyes (certified color additives)” from the American food supply. According to the agency, they are working closely with food manufacturers, retailers, and trade associations to eliminate six remaining certified color additives frequently used in the food supply – FD&C Green No. 3, FD&C Red No. 40, FD&C Yellow No. 5, FD&C Yellow No. 6, FD&C Blue No. 1, and FD&C Blue No. 2 – by the end of 2027” and “taking action to swiftly remove the color additive regulations that allow for the use of Orange B and Citrus Red No. 2. Earlier this year, FDA revoked the authorization for FD&C Red No. 3.” M&Ms One company that is acquiescing to the phase out is Mars, the candy giant behind M&Ms. According to a Mars spokesperson, the company is introducing four product options made without synthetic dyes — M&M’s, Extra, Starburst and Skittles — which will initially be available exclusively through Amazon. The initial naturally colored M&M’s will not include blue and brown, but Mars is working toward offering naturally colored M&M’s in all six signature colors by 2028. M&Ms Given that Disney not only sells M&Ms, but also often uses them in confectionery offerings, it’s worth watching how soon until these new product options make their way to Walt Disney World. Disney Starlight popcorn mix from the Confectionary Due to popularity, changing trends, or even government regulation, Disney World’s snack offerings are always changing, and that’s sure to expand into 2027. Over the last 30+ years, the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival has become one of the most popular annual events at Disney World. From its drinks to its food to its merchandise, fans have come to love many elements of the fest. However, for music fans, the biggest draw is Eat to the Beat! We’re not kidding about the crowds! The concert series, which features world-renowned music artists performing at the America Gardens theater each night, draws some of the festival’s largest crowds, comparable with opening night (August 27th) and closing night(November 16th). When looking at the 2026 lineup, some nights definitely seem like they’ll be more crowded than others. Hanson (August 28th-31st) While many general music fans may only think of this (literal) band of brothers for their 1997 hit “MMMBop”, Hanson has cultivated a large and devoted cult following over the last 30 years. Fans who have been following them for decades, including their annual stop at EPCOT. Their crowds will likely be bolstered even more in 2026 as their appearance coincides with the festival’s opening weekend. @Hanson Facebook Yellowcard (September 6th-7th) Early 2000s pop punk bands have become a major part of the Eat to the Beat lineup in recent years (yay for us fellow millennials), and “Ocean Avenue” hitmakers Yellowcard are sure to draw in a large crowd over Labor Day weekend this year. @Yellowcard New Found Glory (September 28th-29th) Speaking of pop punk, genre legends New Found Glory – – known for tracks like “My Friends Over You” and “All Downhill From Here” – – are back again in late September. Their shows will likely be bolstered by Disney fans as well as punk aficionados, given the Florida bands’ proclivity to cover Disney songs, including “Let It Go” and “Part of Your World”. A Whole New Sound – New Found Glory with Mickey and Friends Boyz II Men (November 2nd – 3rd) Slightly older millennials and other 90s kids will likely line up in droves for the mega-selling vocal soul group Boys II Men, who will be performing in early November, just as Disney World begins its transition into the Christmas season. Beach Boys (November 11th and 12th) Finally, there’s the legendary Beach Boys (well, one of the legendary Beach Boys, as Mike Love is the only original left), who drew MASSIVE crowds in 2025 while performing from their litany of hits, including “California Girls”, “Wouldn’t it Be Nice”, and “God Only Knows.” Crowds waiting for The Beach Boys in 2025. This year, they’ll once again be bolstered by touring member John Stamos (yes, that John Stamos), as well as being scheduled for Veterans’ Day. John Stamos with the Beach Boys at Eat to the Beat in 2025 Of course, beyond these five acts, there’s a litany of other accomplished artists playing Eat to the Beat in 2026. The full lineup includes: Aug 27: Evolution: Motown Sep 1-3: Evolution: Motown Sep 4-5: The War and Treaty (NEW) Sep 8-10: Fly Guys Sep 11-12: Couch (NEW) Sep 13-14: Fitz and the Tantrums (NEW) Sep 15-17: Latin Ambition Sep 18-19: MercyMe Sep 20-21: Grupo Manía (NEW) Sep 22-24: Metro Latino Band Sep 25-27: Element Sep 30: Smash Mouth Oct 1: Smash Mouth Oct 2-4: Champagne Orchestra Oct 5-6: Rey Ruiz (NEW) Oct 7-8: Tiffany Oct 9-11: Viva Latina Oct 12-13: The Fray Oct 14-15: STARSHIP featuring Mickey Thomas Oct 16-18: Jaclyn Hayden Oct 19-20: Ben Rector Oct 21-22: Allen Stone (NEW) Oct 23-25: SoundUp Oct 26-27: Lauren Alaina (NEW) Oct 28-29: Bowling For Soup Oct 30-31: Southbound Nov 1: Southbound Nov 4-5: Big Head Todd and The Monsters (NEW) Nov 6-8: M-80’s Nov 9-10: Grace Potter (NEW) Nov 13-16: The Hooligans Eat to the Beat The Eat to the Beat Concert Series, especially the most in-demand artists, is sure to draw large crowds to EPCOT this fall. Disney World has been doing a lot of retheming and refurbishments lately in the resort hotel rooms, and some guests aren’t too thrilled about the way they’re turning out. Port Orleans Resort – Riverside A lot of the rooms are becoming more modernized, with the theming more subtle than before. And Disney World has announced yet another hotel receiving some updates. We’re here to talk about whether or not you should be worried about staying at this newly updated resort on your next Disney vacation. Let’s start off with one of the most recent hotel room updates at Port Orleans Resort – Riverside. Before the refurbishment, they were extremely themed with Princess and the Frog characters, designs, and ambiance. Royal Rooms at Disney’s Port Orleans – Riverside Now, the rooms have been modernized, and the Princess and the Frog theming has become more subtle. Royal Rooms at Disney’s Port Orleans – Riverside As you can see, there is a HUGE difference, and people are not too happy about it. One of our readers expressed their opinions heavily, saying, “Wish I could have stayed there BEFORE. They have ruined it. They have a really bad decorator/designer. Needs to be fired.” (@rebeccadopp14 on Instagram) Royal Rooms at Disney’s Port Orleans – Riverside MANY other users gave their thoughts on the rooms, and they were mostly negative, wishing for the original design to come back and include more colors than the simple whites and beiges. @radruby89 wrote, “man I really wish Disney would stop refurbishing everything and saying it’s “modern, light, and clean” when all they’ve done is made another magical and unique room look exactly like the rest.” Another view of the whole room This is why people are hesitant about Disney’s newest announcement of the Art of Animation room refurbishments. In summer 2027, this resort will be getting a refresh in several of its themed rooms, including The Little Mermaid section and the Finding Nemo section, and more! The Little Mermaid section of Art of Animation This resort is HIGHLY themed and immersive, so guests are afraid that certain elements will be taken out and the theming will become more subtle, like the others. Right now, guests are able to stay in the Little Mermaid rooms with decor on the walls and sleep in their own clamshell! The Little Mermaid Standard Room at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort But what’s going to happen when they change? Well, we actually got a sneak peek at the new Little Mermaid rooms at a recent media event, and they look STUNNING. We aren’t able to share the art we saw just yet, so you’ll have to take our word for it. The beds will still be a clamshell, just an updated version of one, and the rooms will be painted as if you’re going under the sea! So, there’s no need to worry about the modern whites and beiges that happen to be in a lot of other refurbished Disney resort rooms. Current room at Art of Animation ©Disney And a lot of our readers agree with the new theming and are also excited! @kallieinthekingdom wrote, “This is so needed! Excited for some refreshing there,” while @disneygaga commented, “Now these are changes we can get behind!!” So, should you really be worried about this hotel’s new “upgrade?” Our answer is ABSOLUTELY NOT! This is a refresh that was needed and that we’re excited for! Art of Animation Cars section We’re excited to see what’s to come with the newly refurbished rooms at Art of Animation, and we’ll be following the progress every step of the way. If you’ve ever tried to grab one of those Virtual Queues in Disney World when they were still around, or tried to do anything at a specific time, you’ve likely dealt with toggling between the free Disney World Wi-Fi and your own cell service to see which is faster. On any given day, and depending on your provider, it can change. American Adventure Pavilion Since we’re in the parks nearly every day reporting and sending photos and videos back to our writers and editors at home, we know firsthand how tricky it can be to get the best service and/or Wi-Fi. As it turns out, EPCOT soon may have some of the best coverage, especially in one World Showcase country, thanks to this new permit filed. A new permit has just been filed for the American Adventure pavilion in EPCOT’s World Showcase, but it’s not for any cosmetic changes or new buildings. Nope, it’s for AT&T to update the existing antenna and radio equipment at the address 1776 Avenue of the Stars, which means that service in this area of the park could get MUCH better very quickly. New Permit! This is the first permit we’ve seen of its kind filed at this moment, but does this mean we could see future permits filed for other areas of the park, and potentially other parks, soon? If one set of equipment is out of date, it’s possible that others around the resort are too. New Permit The contractor for the update is Goff Communications, so we’ll be sure to keep a close eye on the other permits coming out of Disney World to see if any others like it pop up. When you’re traveling, you’re likely thinking about all the destinations and spots you want to hit while you’re there, not necessarily wondering if the location is safe to visit to begin with. Disney Wish If you’re traveling to a spot you’ve never been to before, you may choose to check the U.S. Department of State travel page, which lists different travel advisories you should be aware of. That doesn’t mean not to travel to these places (though sometimes the advisory is that intense), but it gives you an idea of what to be cautious of while traveling to that country. There’s a Disney Cruise Line ship that has Saint Lucia on their itinerary in 2027 that we’re now paying attention to, because the travel advisory for the country has just increased. On July 10th, the travel advisory for Saint Lucia, the island country in the eastern and southern Caribbean, specifically south of Martinique and to the north of Saint Vincent & the Grenadines. Previously, there was a Level 1 advisory for the country, but now it’s at level two, meaning increased caution is advised. ©U.S. Department of State The change in advisory is due to crime. Violent crime is possible anywhere in Saint Lucia, and “U.S. citizens and other foreigners in the country have been victims of armed robbery, assault, and burglary.” Police response times are also not as fast as in the United States, which adds to the danger, and petty crime like snatching and pickpocketing is very common, so it’s important to stay very aware of your surroundings. Tourists should also beware of overcharging and scams in tourist areas, which are also common. Travelers may encounter aggressive vendors, but it’s important to remember that most sites have tourist police available to help in situations that make you uncomfortable. Every week, we report the average Disney World wait times in every park so that you can be prepared for your next trip to Orlando! So patriotic! Disney World wait times have a reputation for being, well, unpredictable, and that’s especially true during the summer season. The Fourth of July Holiday has traditionally been one of Disney World’s busiest, and the fact that the 2026 holiday fell across a weekend seemed to indicate that wait times would be high. While many fans of themed entertainment often automatically think of the industry’s major players like Disney and Universal, the truth is that there are many, MANY themed experiences from companies large and small across the U.S. ©Attractions 360 And the truth is, from regional park chains to one-off family-owned amusement parks and even standalone attractions and rides, not all of these offerings are created equal. Case in point — there’s a ride our team members STILL can’t believe we paid for. The attraction in question, which is located in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, the home of Dollywood – – though let’s be clear, this is NOT a Dollywood ride – – is called the Jurassic Jungle Boat Ride. This ride claims to feature “flying dinosaurs, walking dinosaurs, fighting dinosaurs, baby dinosaurs, sea monsters, and much, much more, all from the safety of your boat.” In concept, an indoor boat ride surrounded by animatronic dinosaurs sounds like it could be really cool, even if the standalone attraction clearly wouldn’t be on the same financial or technological level as something from Disney or Universal. However, in practice was a different matter. ©Jurassic Jungle Boat Ride The approximately 12-ish-minute boat ride — and it is a SUPER slow-moving boat ride — kind of feels like the neglected sibling of the Jurassic Park River Adventure or even the departed Dinosaur in Animal Kingdom. The dinosaur animatronics are a level of rickety that would fit in with a Simpsons parody of a theme park. Some pop out at the boat in a slight jump scare manner, while others pop up from the water. There was even one pterodactyl “flying” overhead that had seemingly kidnapped a CHILD. Again, all of these feel like they could be scary in concept, but the execution just makes them somewhat…bizarre. ©Fox/Disney All of that makes the ride’s price tag of over $20 a bit hard to swallow, considering that the ride is one that many guests would likely skip at a theme park if it came with the price of admission. There is a silver lining here, though. Specifically, those who enjoy the “it’s so bad, they’re good” hokey tourist attractions may appreciate the ride and its cheese with a capital ‘C’ offering. If one went in with that mindset, it might be worth a diversion from your trip, though the price point is still a high one. ©Jurassic Jungle Boat Ride Despite making its home in the same Pigeon Forge, Tennessee location as Dollywood, the Jurassic Jungle Boat Ride attraction could not be further from that award-winning theme park. Depending on your appetite for the cheesier elements of themed entertainment, that may be a good thing or a bad thing. Stay tuned to DFB for more on themed attractions around the world. 8 Rules Every Disney Adult Will Break in Dollywood Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! On the newest Disney Cruise Line ship, the Disney Adventure, there is an all-new show that blends cutting-edge technology with fantastic Disney storytelling. Walt Disney Theater The show “Remember: A Disney and Pixar Stage Show” follows WALL-E and Eve on a beautiful journey as they travel through different Disney stories. The machine WALL-E sits and travels on through the show, is the first-ever fully autonomous piece of equipment used in a Disney stage show. Imagineers are giving us a behind-the-scenes look at how this all works. In a recent video on the Walt Disney Imagineering YouTube channel, they revealed all the behind-the-scenes details on how the “Mobilator” works. This is the first fully autonomous computer-driven character seen on stage. Meaning that it moves on its own across the stage without any human control. The Mobilator is the driving force behind the WALL-E Wagon and how this character is truly brought to life on stage. It is an extremely complex piece of machinery that has never been used before. ©Walt Disney Imagineering Now, this system is very complicated, and to ensure the success of the show and the safety of the performers, there are three ways in which the crew can know exactly where and how the Mobilator is moving on the stage. ©Walt Disney Imagineering First is the Lidar, which is located on one of the bottom corners of the Mobilator. It is constantly emitting signals which then hit reflectors across the stage. When the signal hits those reflectors, the position of the Mobilator is then triangulated on the stage. ©Walt Disney Imagineering Second is the Wheel Odometry, which counts how many times the wheel rotates to show where the system is on the stage. ©Walt Disney Imagineering And third is a Downward Facing Camera, which looks for different QR Codes that are embedded into the stage itself, so when the Mobilator needs to be in specific spots, for lifts or other specific moments, the camera will read these codes and know the system is in the right spot. ©Walt Disney Imagineering There is also a whole battery bank that sits inside the Mobilator to ensure that it can move and work properly throughout the entire show; these batteries equal about eight normal car batteries! ©Walt Disney Imagineering If you want to see the whole breakdown of this cool technology, you can check out the full Walt Disney Imagineering video here! This technology is truly incredible and a fantastic way for Disney to enhance their already amazing storytelling. The live-action Moana movie just sailed into theaters, which means that Disney World is full of new Moana-themed treats to celebrate our favorite Wayfinder. HeiHei Delight When we saw this brand-new Moana-themed drink hit EPCOT this week, we had to try it. Let’s find out if this Heihei Delight is as delightful as the name! The Heihei Delight is $7.29 at The Land Cart in EPCOT. This is a tropical blend of pineapple and coconut topped with a pineapple slice and Skittles POP’d original freeze-dried candy. HeiHei Delight This drink is a nonalcoholic piña colada in terms of both flavor and texture. It’s very light and refreshing, so it’s perfect for walking around with on a hot Florida day. It’s topped with shredded coconut that brings in the coconut flavor, but you’ll have to mix it in to get it evenly dispersed. The freeze-dried Skittles are very crunchy and still keep the strong, fruity flavors the candy is known for. It’s super tropical with a fun twist from the Skittles! The Skittles don’t fit in the straw! We’d recommend this Heihei Delight to anyone looking for a fruity, pineapple drink in EPCOT. If you’re hoping for a strong coconut flavor, this isn’t it: The drink is very pineapple-forward. The Skittles were a fun addition, but the straw we were given wasn’t wide enough to drink them with, so we had to grab a spoon to eat them. It doesn’t mix well into the drink, so it’s not worth it just for the Skittles. If you want to try it yourself, head to The Land Cart in EPCOT before it sails away! Heihei Delight We loved trying this new drink at EPCOT. Stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more Disney World food reviews! After 30 years of staying at Disney World hotels, there are three I just keep coming back to, and you might want to book this one for your next vacation. Disney’s Wilderness Lodge I believe that some Disney World resorts are just made for you. Maybe you enjoy the immersive theming of Art of Animation, or you really love having access to the monorail from your resort. I’ve stayed at most of the Disney World resorts in my life, but now there are just three that my family can’t stop booking. 3. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort has incredible theming that can make you forget you’re in the heart of Florida, not on an island. From the lobby to the detail in the rooms, staying here can feel like a vacation, while on vacation. We also love that it is on the resort monorail loop, giving you quick access to Magic Kingdom and EPCOT. But by far one of the best reasons to stay here is the food. Whether you’re grabbing the Tonga Toast from Kona Cafe for breakfast, the Pork Nachos from Capt. Cook’s, or a drink from Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto, you’ll be in for a treat. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort 2. Disney’s Beach Club Resort Disney’s Beach Club Resort is famously known for having one of the best pools for a Disney resort. It is conveniently located near the Boardwalk, giving you walkable access to tons of restaurants, EPCOT, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. If you’re someone who wants to spend time at their resort while also being able to get to the parks quickly, this is a great resort. Beach Club 1. Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort — Copper Creek Villas Finally, my number one choice for a Disney hotel is Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort, specifically Copper Creek Villas. If there’s one Disney World hotel that completely transports me somewhere else, it’s Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. From the moment I walk into the soaring lobby, I’m reminded why I keep coming back. Inspired by the grand National Park lodges of the Pacific Northwest, every detail feels intentional, from the massive stone fireplace to the towering timber beams and rustic décor. Wilderness Lodge lobby As someone who travels with my family, I really appreciate how comfortable the rooms at Wilderness Lodge feel. The Copper Creek Villas have plenty of space to spread out, which makes a huge difference after spending an entire day in the parks. There’s enough room for everyone to unpack without feeling like we’re constantly stepping over each other, and the warm wood accents and cozy design make the rooms feel more like a mountain retreat than a standard hotel room. It’s a place where I genuinely look forward to coming back each afternoon or evening. We typically stay in a Copper Creek Deluxe Studio, which is about $623 per night. Of course, there are a wide variety of rooms available at the resort, and some are cheaper. Wilderness Lodge in Disney World One of the biggest reasons I love staying at Wilderness Lodge is that I never feel like I have to leave the resort to find a great meal. There are plenty of dining options, whether I’m grabbing something quick before heading to the parks or sitting down for a relaxing dinner. Whispering Canyon Cafe But the real standout for me is Geyser Point Bar & Grill. Sitting outside along the water with a meal or drink while watching the boats travel to and from Magic Kingdom is one of my favorite ways to unwind after a long park day. The resort also has several other lounge spaces that make it easy to relax without fighting the crowds you often find at other Disney hotels. Geyser Point Bar & Grill Transportation can make or break a Disney vacation, and the boat service to Magic Kingdom is one of my favorite perks of staying here. Instead of squeezing onto a crowded bus, I get to enjoy a relaxing ride across Bay Lake while taking in the scenery. It’s one of those little extras that makes Wilderness Lodge feel so special compared to many other Disney resorts. Wilderness Lodge boat My family loves to stay here during the holiday season. There’s something about the giant Christmas tree and decorations paired with the rustic features that make this resort feel so cozy. It also makes for a quick trip to Magic Kingdom if you are visiting Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Christmas Tree at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge This resort is perfect for travelers who want their Disney vacation to feel a little slower and more relaxing without sacrificing convenience. If you love immersive theming, enjoy spending time at your hotel, appreciate great dining and lounges, or like taking peaceful boat rides to Magic Kingdom, Wilderness Lodge is hard to beat. It’s also an excellent choice for families who want spacious accommodations and plenty of activities on resort days. On the other hand, it may not be the best fit if your priority is having quick transportation to all four theme parks, since you’ll rely on buses for EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Guests looking for a more modern or bright atmosphere may also find the rustic, National Park-inspired design less appealing. We’re more than halfway through 2026, which means A LOT of people are already starting to plan their vacations for next year. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa And with planning a trip, some of the biggest questions include WHERE you’re going to go and WHEN you’re going to go. Disney World is a popular vacation spot for many families around the world, and it can get pretty pricey, especially when it comes to hotels. But I’m here to break down the best times to go and stay at a Disney World hotel, so you can beat the crowds and save some money! January 24th – 30th You’d think that once the holiday season ends, the crowds at Disney World would die down, but that’s not the case until late January. The Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, which happens next year from January 6th to January 10th, draws in a whole different crowd. And the following week brings in the long-weekend crowds from Martin Luther King Day, landing on January 18th, 2027. ©Disney But after those crowds leave, you’ll be in the clear for a less crowded week filled with cooler temperatures, so this makes January 24th through 30th one of the best times to visit the resort! The Disney Skyliner will also be closed for its annual maintenance during this week, so if you want even fewer crowds, consider staying at Pop Century Resort, Art of Animation Resort, Riviera Resort, or Caribbean Beach Resort! Disney World’s Skyliner Let’s take a look at Pop Century Resort’s rates — from January 24th to 30th, one Standard Room costs $209.50 per night. But if you were to take a vacation during the holiday season — December 20th to 26th, for example — a Standard Room would set you back $349 per night. So, by traveling just a month later, you can save nearly $1,000! Pop Century Here’s the Bad News About The Disney World Skyliner April 11th – 17th Next year, Easter falls early on March 28th, so you won’t see those holiday crowds in mid-April. Most college spring breaks also occur in March, so April 11th through 17th might be the perfect time to take your Disney World vacation. It still won’t be in the peak-summer temperatures, but definitely bring a cooling towel and a fan because it’ll still be hot! School vacations up north tend to happen the week after, so if you’re going to book around this time, don’t book for too late in April! Tree of Life in Animal Kingdom If you’re going to be spending a lot of time at your hotel during your vacation, you’ll want one that has a lot to offer and won’t break the bank at the same time. Disney’s Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter is a great option since it has several dining options — including those beloved beignets — a sister resort that you’ll also have access to, and easy transportation to Disney Springs via boat! Staying here during this week can also save you over $50 per night compared to if you were to stay during the week of Easter! Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter I Found the Perfect Room at Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter Hotel — Here’s How to Get It August 19th – 25th You may be thinking to yourself, “This girl is WILD to recommend taking a Disney World vacation in August,” and to that I say — you’re wrong! If you don’t mind the heat, booking a vacation to Disney World mid-to-end August might be the move for you! Florida schools generally resume in mid-August, so you won’t have to deal with the locals, and this is typically a period when EPCOT doesn’t have an ongoing festival — the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival tends to begin in the last week of August. Food and Wine Festival Booth It’s also one of the cheapest times to visit, with hotel rooms starting at just $84 per night — and that’s before any discounts or promotions — which there are some going on 90% of the time! So, if you don’t mind the heat, can go without eating festival foods, and want to save some money, we recommend booking between August 19th and 25th! All-Star Music 3 NEW Restaurants, Attraction Overhauls, and Food and Wine Festival Updates — Every Major Disney Announcement You Missed September 19st – 25th Mid to late September tends to be one of the slowest times of the year in Disney World — there is no major holiday, the runDisney races don’t start back up until late October, and everyone around the country is back in school. Plus, you’ll be able to see all of the fall and Halloween decorations up around the resort! Fall Decorations Maybe you want to explore the outdoors and stay at the Fort Wilderness Campsites? This is a great week to do it because you can stay for only $84 per night! The temperatures start to cool down around this time, too, so if you are looking for a less crowded, cooler vacation to Disney World, September 19th to 25th is the perfect time to take a trip!
