The weekend was a BLAST, filled with memorable moments, lots of shopping, sneak peeks, and TONS of news. D23! Our favorite moments from the weekend came from the massive panels at the Honda Center! The Entertainment Showcase featured behind-the-scenes looks, exclusive footage, and new announcements. We learned about details for movies like Incredibles 3, Frozen 3, Coco 2, Lilo & Stitch 2, and more. We also got brand-new reveals like the cast for Marvel Studios’ X-Men and Disney’s Zootopia 3. Lilo & Stitch 2 The panel for Disney Parks and Experiences brought tons of details on anticipated projects. We found out Monstropolis is opening in Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 2027, Villains Land will feature two attractions (one of them being a Maleficent-themed roller coaster), news behind attractions in Tropical Americas, the Piston Peak ride will be called “Cars Ridge Run Rally”, and more! ©Disney We also learned that Space Mountain is changing in Disneyland Paris and Tokyo Disneyland, more details on rides and expansions coming to Disneyland Resort, and a Spaceship Earth upgrade coming. Oh, and Dreamfinder is returning to EPCOT! It’s probably best you check out our roundup post below. The EPCOT Food & Wine Festival is almost here! This fan-favorite festival starts on August 27th and runs through November 21st, and includes so much amazing food, drinks, and entertainment. Emile’s Fromage Montage Completer Prize Every year, one of our favorite parts of the festival is Emile’s Fromage Montage cheese crawl. However, it looks like this crawl might be more difficult than in years past. Emile’s Fromage Montage is a cheese crawl throughout the festival themed to Remy’s brother Emile from Ratatouille. To participate in this crawl, all you need to do is grab a free Food & Wine Festival Passport on your way in. This will list all of the cheese items eligible for the crawl, and whenever you pick one up, just ask the Cast Member to stamp your Passport. 2025 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival Passport — Emile’s Fromage Montage Stamp Collecting Page! Once you’ve collected five stamps, you can visit the Shimmering Sips food booth to get a free festival treat. This crawl does not need to be completed in a single day; you can complete it across multiple days, and you don’t even need to get five different items. You could get the same item five different times, and that would still count for the crawl. Completer Prize for Emile’s Fromage Montage Cheese Crawl 2024 If you love cheese and are planning on trying lots of items around the festival, then participating in the crawl is a no-brainer and an amazing way to get a free item while visiting the festival! Emile’s Fromage Montage Redemption Window at Shimmering Sips However, when we were looking at the list of participating items for the crawl, we noticed that a lot of them were at booths that had a delayed opening. In fact, about half of the items are not available at the very start of the festival. Emile’s Fromage Montage Here is the full list of all the items with delayed availability: Selection of Cheeses with accompaniments featuring Proudly Wisconsin Cheese at The Wedge Hosted by Dairy Does More Menu in CommuniCore Hall (Available September 18th through November 8th) Crab and Corn Macaroni and Cheese with smoked cheddar sauce, bacon, crab seasoning, roasted corn, herbed panko, and jalapeños at The Wedge Hosted by Dairy Does More Menu in CommuniCore Hall (Available September 18th through November 8th) Three-Cheese Macaroni and Cheese with smoked cheddar sauce and herbed panko at The Wedge Hosted by Dairy Does More Menu in CommuniCore Hall (Available September 18th through November 8th) Cheesesteak Macaroni and Cheese with smoked cheddar sauce, shaved beef, peppers, onions, and herbed panko at The Wedge Hosted by Dairy Does More Menu in CommuniCore Hall (Available September 18th through November 8th) Pumpkin Cheesecake Mousse Trifle featuring PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese with citrus sauce and spice cake topped with cranberry streusel at Festival Favorites (Available starting September 9th) Red Wine-braised Beef Short Rib with goat cheese polenta, tomato ragù, shaved pecorino cheese, and petit herbs at Earth Eats (Available starting October 2nd) 2025 Shimmering Sips Booth So six out of the fourteen items available for the crawl will be opening later than the rest of the festival, which means if you are visiting in the first few weeks, you will have fewer options to complete the crawl. Food & Wine Festival Booth Eight items on the crawl are available for the entire duration of the festival, so you’ll still be able to complete Emile’s Fromage Montage; you may just be more limited in options depending on when you visit. So, if you are visiting at the very start of the festival, keep in mind that several booths and food items will not be available until later, and make sure to plan what you want to try in advance so you know if it will be available on your trip! 2025 Brazil Booth We will continue to bring you all of the Food & Wine Festival news, so stay tuned to Disney Food Blog so you never miss anything! For over two decades, Pop Century has been one of the most popular – – and unique – – resort hotels at Walt Disney World. Themed to the evolving culture of the second half of the 20th century, the resort is divided by decades, with each section including iconic properties of their time, many of which aren’t owned by Disney (We’re likely never seeing that again). Over time, the hotel’s rooms have been progressively upgraded, including just recently. Pop! Recently, we stayed at Pop Century to check out the latest updates to the Value Tier resort’s rooms. Come with us for a look! Now, at first glance, Pop Century’s rooms still look very similar to what guests have become accustomed to over the last decade+. Pop Century Room However, there are definitely some differences, starting with the floors! The main floors have been redone, and a new patterned accent sits underneath the beds. The new accent up close. You did read “beds” correctly, by the way, as Pop Century’s rooms still feature one standard bed and a Murphy Bed. The Murphy Bed Back to new additions, when the Murphy Bed is in its closed position, the chairs in front of it have been replaced by a new funky design. New Chairs There’s also a Mickey Mouse curtain on the room’s window… The Mickey curtain … which features a pop art design. A close-up of the curtain. In addition to these new accouterments, Pop Century’s rooms are home to Disney’s typical hotel room perks, including the Hey Disney! voice assistant… Hey Disney! … a beverage cooler and coffeemaker… Beverage cooler and coffee maker … (including coffee and tea options, of course)… Coffees and teas … and of course the bathroom… Pop Century bathroom … loaded with Disney toiletry products. Toiletries Pop Century has been one of Disney World’s most popular Value Tier Resorts for decades; the hotel’s rooms have once again been refreshed. The EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival is almost here, and Disney has FINALLY released the menus. The 2026 festival runs from August 27th through November 21st, giving us nearly three months to roam around World Showcase carrying tiny plates, tiny forks, and increasingly complicated opinions about cheese. EPCOT Food & Wine Festival And this year is a big one. Food & Wine is celebrating its 30th anniversary, with Disney bringing back or reimagining 30 dishes from festivals past. Naturally, we went straight to the menus to see what was new. But we also noticed something very important. A LOT of things we loved in 2025 are coming back. And when we say loved, we mean several of these dishes landed on our Best of the Fest list last year. So while we’ll be at EPCOT opening day trying all the brand-new snacks because somebody has to make these sacrifices, there are already a few returning dishes we can tell you about. We’ve eaten them. We have opinions. Some of them should probably already be on your list. Here are 8 returning EPCOT Food & Wine Festival snacks we tried last year that are coming back in 2026. Street Corn-style Dumplings Gyozas of the Galaxy was one of the biggest surprises of the 2025 festival, and thankfully, our favorite dish from the booth is returning. The Street Corn-style Dumplings are chicken dumplings topped with tomatillo salsa verde, street corn salad, cotija cheese, lime crema, and cilantro. Last year, we basically described these as elote in dumpling form, and that assessment still feels extremely correct. Street Corn-style Dumplings There’s a LOT happening on this little plate, but it works. You get toasted corn, creamy cotija, tangy lime, salsa verde, and a tender dumpling underneath the whole operation. The toppings aren’t just decorative confetti, either. They bring enough street corn flavor that the dish actually delivers on its slightly bonkers premise. Street Corn-style Dumplings These were our favorite dumplings at the booth in 2025, and we’re very happy Disney resisted the urge to fiddle with a good thing. Put this one near the top of the list. Click here to check out our review of Gyozas of the Galaxy Kirschwasser Torte The Alps gave us one of our favorite NEW desserts of 2025, and she lives to see another festival. The Kirschwasser Torte is made with cherry-brandy buttercream, fondant, sugared almonds, and cherry compote. This is not a shy dessert. Kirschwasser Torte It’s rich, sweet, VERY icing-forward, and absolutely meant for the person who considers frosting an important food group. But the tart cherries help rein everything in, while the sugared almonds bring some much-needed crunch. Inside the torte We also discovered something important last year. It gets even better as it starts to soften in the Florida heat. Which is fortunate, because Florida will happily begin melting it approximately nine seconds after it leaves the booth. The Kirschwasser Torte landed near the top of our Best of the Fest picks in 2025, so dessert people, take note. Read Our Review of The Alps Here Basque Cheesecake Spain’s Basque Cheesecake with orange sauce is returning for 2026, and we are not mad about it. We loved the texture of this one last year. It was wonderfully creamy without turning crumbly or dry, and the orange sauce brought enough citrus to brighten everything up without making the dessert taste like somebody dropped a cheesecake into a glass of orange juice. Basque Cheesecake Little pieces of orange peel in the sauce added some extra zing, too. It was one of the best new dishes we tried at the 2025 festival, and it’s exactly the kind of dessert we like at Food & Wine. Interesting enough to feel like a festival snack, but straightforward enough that you actually want to finish the whole thing. Read Our Review of the Spain booth here Brioche aux Epices avec une Garniture Mornay de Trois Fromages Yes, the name is a mouthful. The brioche will also be a mouthful, and THAT part we wholeheartedly endorse. France is bringing back its spiced brioche with three-cheese mornay filling, and this was one of the dishes that absolutely knocked us sideways in 2025. Brioche aux Epices Avec Une Garniture Mornay de Trois Fromages In fact, at the time, we said it might be one of the best things we’ve ever eaten at an EPCOT festival. That is not praise we throw around because somebody handed us warm bread. The brioche was soft and moist, the spices were aromatic without overpowering the bread, and then there was that warm, creamy three-cheese filling tucked inside. Brioche aux Epices Avec Une Garniture Mornay de Trois Fromages Bread. Cheese. France. Sometimes the universe provides. This is probably the returning dish we’re MOST excited to revisit in 2026, both because it was so good last year and because we need to make sure we weren’t briefly hypnotized by mornay sauce. Read Our Review of France Here Grilled Cider-brined Pork Tenderloin Bramblewood Bites is returning with its Grilled Cider-brined Pork Tenderloin, served with chili-apple butter, celeriac-apple slaw, and apple cider gastrique. And yes, there are a LOT of apples involved. No, it doesn’t taste like someone dumped an orchard onto a pork chop. Grilled Cider-brined Pork Tenderloin This dish was a returning favorite even in 2025, and it continued earning its spot on our Best of the Fest list. The pork was tender and juicy with a nice char from the grill, while the apple slaw added freshness and crunch. That sweet-savory combination is really where this dish earns its keep. Grilled Cider-brined Pork Tenderloin Food & Wine portions can sometimes skew toward “three bites and a dream,” but a dish like this also feels substantial enough to help break up an afternoon of desserts and cocktails. We’re glad to see it back. Read Our Review of Bramblewood Bites Here Pumpkin-Mascarpone Ravioli Pumpkin season is apparently arriving in Florida whether the temperature agrees or not. The Pumpkin-Mascarpone Ravioli returns to Forest & Field with brown butter vinaigrette, pecorino cheese, pomegranate seeds, and hazelnut praline. We loved this dish in 2025 because it manages to juggle a whole collection of fall flavors without becoming a pumpkin spice candle you can eat. Pumpkin-Mascarpone Ravioli The ravioli itself was tender and cheesy, while the brown butter brought that rich, nutty flavor that pumpkin LOVES. Then the hazelnut praline added a little sweetness to balance the earthier elements. The pomegranate seeds also help cut through all that richness. Pumpkin Mascarpone Ravioli This is one of those dishes where you read the ingredient list and wonder if everybody is going to get along. Somehow, they do. It landed among our returning Best of the Fest picks last year, and Disney has kept the 2026 version looking remarkably familiar. Excellent. No notes. Read our review of Forest & Field Pão de Queijo Look. It is cheese bread. We could probably stop there. Brazil’s beloved Pão de Queijo is officially returning in 2026, and this is one of the most reliable Food & Wine Festival snacks around. These Brazilian cheese breads are light and airy while still delivering plenty of cheesy flavor, which is one reason we keep coming back to them year after year. Pão de Queijo They’re also a nice option when you want something savory without immediately committing your stomach to one of the festival’s heavier meat-and-potato situations. Last year, Pão de Queijo once again earned a spot among our returning Best of the Fest choices. At this point, we’d be more surprised if Disney DIDN’T bring it back. And yes, we will eat it again. This is research. Read our full review of the Brazil booth Cheddar and Bacon Soup Canada knows what it has. Why mess with it? The Cheddar and Bacon Soup served with a pretzel roll is returning to the Canada booth for the 2026 festival. This is basically the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival version of an old friend who shows up every year wearing the exact same sweater. You know what’s coming, and you’re still happy to see them. Cheddar and Bacon Soup The soup gives you plenty of creamy beer-cheese flavor with smoky bacon running throughout, plus that soft pretzel bread for dipping. It’s also an easy way to get a taste of one of the flavors closely associated with Le Cellier without sitting down for a full table-service meal. Cheddar and Bacon Soup We called this one a must for cheese lovers in 2025, and that hasn’t changed. Would we necessarily choose piping-hot cheese soup during a 94-degree EPCOT afternoon? Maybe more frequently in air conditioning. Would we eat it again anyway? Obviously. Read our full review of the Canada booth We Already Have a Head Start on 2026 There are plenty of NEW dishes on the 2026 EPCOT Food & Wine menus that we haven’t tried yet, and believe us, we are coming for them. But there is something comforting about spotting so many of our 2025 Best of the Fest picks back on the menu. The Street Corn-style Dumplings and France’s three-cheese brioche are probably the two we’d prioritize first based on last year’s experience, while the Basque Cheesecake, pork tenderloin, and Pumpkin-Mascarpone Ravioli are very close behind. And then there are those dependable festival staples like Pão de Queijo and Canada’s cheese soup, patiently waiting to ruin whatever carefully constructed snack budget you made before entering EPCOT. Of course, festival food can change from year to year. Portions shift. Recipes get tweaked. Sometimes a dish we adored one year comes back with a completely different attitude. So we’ll be trying these again during the 2026 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival to see if they still deserve their spots among the best. And, more importantly, we’ll be eating EVERYTHING new so you don’t have to gamble your snack money blindly. If there is one small Disney detail we love more than all the rest, it’s Tiny Train Town in Germany. As you know, the Mayor is always giving us detailed updates about the goings-on in the town. Tiny Train Town But on our last trip to EPCOT, we noticed that our favorite mini-town just got a HUGE expansion. Tiny Train Town now has all-new central buildings designed to look just like the entryway to the Germany Pavilion! Tiny Train Town You can even see the Biergarten entrance…. Mini …the fountain and statue from the Pavilion… Tiny Train Town Statue …and even the stage from the Pavilion in miniature form, although even though we listened very hard, we couldn’t quite hear the tiny band’s performance. Tiny Train Town Stage Not only did Tiny Train Town get a new central area, but it also got SO many Snow White details. If you did not know, Germany is Snow White’s home pavilion and where guests can meet the princess while walking around World Showcase. And now there are Snow White details everywhere, including her cottage…. Snow White’s Cottage …the entrance to the Seven Dwarfs’ Diamond Mine… Diamond Mine Entrance …the Evil Queen’s vultures sitting next to the film’s infamous boulder from the climactic fight scene… So many details! …and even the Evil Queen herself lurking towards the cottage with poison apples in her basket… What is the Evil Queen doing in Tiny Train Town?? We already know that our Mayor will have LOTS to say about these changes and the new residents apparently moving into town. We will keep you posted on all the Tiny Train Town and Disney World news, so stay tuned to Disney Food Blog so you never miss anything! The Misadventures of Tiny Train Town! Over the course of its long history, the area now known as Disney Springs has been home to many favorite restaurants, and that continues to this day. There is a litany of options, from massive chain restaurants to upscale eateries and local favorites, and choosing between them all can be overwhelming. Duck Duck Razz That’s why it can come in handy knowing where those who know Disney World best — CAST MEMBERS — go to grab a bite. We asked the former Cast Members on our team where they liked to chow down at Disney Springs, and these were some of their favorites. Polite Pig Priding itself on featuring a menu “inspired by the best seasonal food that Florida has to offer, bringing new twists to local flavors and BBQ,” Polite Pig offers a stacked menu of barbecue sandwiches including pulled pork, brisket, fried chicken, and turkey, as well as a selection of smoked options, which include jalapeño cheese sausage, chicken, ribs, pork, and brisket. Time for a feast! These barbecue favorites can be paired with traditional sides including grilled street corn, baked beans, mac and cheese, and burnt ends chili. Beyond those traditional offerings, the restaurant also offers dishes slightly outside what one would expect from a theme park-adjacent barbecue restaurant, including smoked cedar-plank salmon and a unique take on duck wings, drizzled with sweet tea glaze and pecans. Those meals can be paired with a large selection of beers on tap, as well as great modern barbecue dining options, perfect for a non-park day. The Polite Pig REVIEW: One of Disney World’s BEST Sandwiches Is Hiding in Disney Springs; And Not Where You Think Summer House on the Lake Summer House on the Lake is — as the name would imply — a lakeside eatery well known for California vibes, with well-known lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch menus including flavorful salads, sandwiches, pizzas, and more made with seasonal Florida ingredients. 8th Street Frita Burger Plus, the restaurant is also home to the Summer House Cookie Bar, a sweet-in-every-way location that offers a selection of freshly baked cookies, including Chocolate Chip, Snickerdoodle, Birthday Cake, S’Mores, Lemon, German Chocolate, Cookies N’ Cream, Red Velvet, Apple Oatmeal, and more. Colombe coffee roasters and iced coffee beverages, fresh-churned soft-serve ice cream, and Cookie Shakes are also served here! COOKIES from The Cookie Bar REVIEW: Just When We Thought We Couldn’t Love It Any More, This Disney World Restaurant Proved Us WRONG The BOATHOUSE Let’s wrap up with one of Disney Springs’ most popular restaurants, the BOATHOUSE. The maritime-themed eatery offers a full menu of seafood, including a raw bar, plus steak, chops, pasta, sandwiches, burgers, lobster rolls, and veggie options, in addition to a full bar and dessert options PLENTY of lobster! In addition to the menu, the restaurant features nautical ambiance, including three outdoor bars and dining rooms linked by a boardwalk. Unique Apps, Iconic Mains, and MASSIVE Desserts: This Disney World Restaurant Is Practically Perfect And of course, the BOATHOUSE is the access point for the Dreamboat Experience, a 20-minute guided tour on the waters of Lake Buena Vista while riding in a vintage Amphicar vehicle. Here at Disney Food Blog, we’re Disney experts who go to Disneyland and Disney World every. single. day! We’re laughing along with Oogie Boogie! When we were at Oogie Boogie Bash this weekend, we were on the Oogie Boogie Treat Trail when we heard someone absolutely scream, “I LOVE THAT BURLAP MAN!” It made us die of laughter while trying to record our YouTube video. But it got our team thinking: what other funny things have we heard at Disney this week? Today in Disneyland, we heard someone say, “Ugh, it’s probably in Disney WORLD, not DisneyLAND!” We have no idea what attraction or ride they meant, but the struggle is real! Disneyland Then, we went on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and a family behind us brought their pretty young kid, probably no older than 3 or 4. This kiddo did NOOOOT have a good time, and when the ride was over, the dad was saying, “It’s over! You did it! You were brave and did it!” And the poor kiddo is just going, “Noooo, I’m nooooot!” Big Thunder Mountain Railroad When we were walking in the America Pavilion in EPCOT, the little boy next to us pointed out a ship and said, “Mom, look! It’s Mickey’s ship!” And his older brother responded, “No, you idiot, it’s just a normal ship.” The Golden Dream We’re always at Disney, so stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more Disney Overheard! Since its opening a quarter century ago, the Animal Kingdom Lodge, Disney World’s only hotel directly themed to one of its theme parks, has been one of the most popular resorts thanks to the Deluxe Tier accommodations, the live animals that graze in the resort’s savannas, and some of the best dining on property. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge However, as much as there is to enjoy at Animal Kingdom Lodge, those planning to stay there this coming fall need to know about some MAJOR construction that may impact their stay. The lobby and nearby areas at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge – Kidani Village have begun their refurbishment, which will occur in phases. These phases are as follows: August 17th through October 9th: The main lobby and primary entrance will be closed. Check-in will move to the Palace Library during this time. Halloween is one of the BEST seasons to visit Disneyland Resort, especially if you head on over to Disney California Adventure. That’s right, it’s finally time to kick off the Halloween season! Oogie Boogie at Oogie Boogie Bash One of the best ways to celebrate the season is Oogie Boogie Bash! This after-hours event is a full night of Halloween fun with special snacks and all of your favorite villains. We’re here for the first party of 2026, and we’re showing you EVERYTHING you need to know! The Basics Oogie Boogie Bash runs on select nights from August 18th to October 31st and is a separately ticketed event in Disney California Adventure where the park is completely transformed into a Halloween spectacular. The event is five hours long, but with lower crowds than normal, there’s SO much you can get done! Oogie Boogie Bash Tickets range from $139 to $199, with nights closer to Halloween being the most expensive. The event starts at 6 PM and runs until 11 PM. You can get into the park as early as 3 PM with an event ticket, but the official party fun doesn’t start until 6 PM. Crowds These after-hours parties can be pretty busy, and we were expecting long lines for exclusive merchandise and characters. However, when we visited the party on opening night, we noticed that the crowds were not as intense as we expected. Even all the treat trail lines moved pretty quick! Let’s go to Oogie Boogie Bash! We made sure to pick up our wristband first thing, and then we were ready to party! Got our bag and wristband, so let’s trick-or-treat! These wristbands are how Cast Members check and make sure you’re supposed to be in the park for the party, so be sure to keep yours visible at all times. Event Guide Make sure you grab an event guide when you get to the park! This map will show you where to find all the characters, treat trails, snacks, and more. Photo locations for PhotoPass are also listed, and you get FREE access to them all night with your party ticket, so our advice? Take advantage of each and every one! Oogie Boogie Bash Map The event guide is a great souvenir, but it’s also PACKED full of information for the evening. You can use this event guide to help plan out your evening and see where everything is located in the park. Oogie Boogie Guide In fact, we recommend stopping to look over the map the moment you grab it, rather than waiting until later at night. Merchandise Who doesn’t love exclusive merchandise? We know we’re suckers for it every year! There are tons of exclusive merchandise you can find throughout the event, although one of our favorites had to be these Jack Skellington and Oogie Boogie Ears! Oogie Boogie Bash Minnie Mouse Ears Make sure to dedicate some of your time at Oogie Boogie to explore all the great merchandise! Treat Trails One unique part about Oogie Boogie Bash is the immersive treat trails. You can grab free candy while walking through themed trails with some of your favorite villains. Disney provides a free candy bag when you arrive at the event, but you can also bring another one if you’d like. In fact, you can walk through these trails as many times as you’d like! Oogie Boogie Bash 2026 These are some of the best ways to see some super rare Disney Villains. While they’re not traditional meet-and-greets (in order to keep the lines moving), we still find it super cool. It’s a big draw each year, so expect to see some long lines — they do traditionally move fast, though! First up, we saw Yzma at her treat trail in Grizzly Peak. She is a brand-new character this year, and we were thrilled to see her make an appearance at Oogie Boogie. Yzma! You can also spot the host himself, Oogie Boogie, at his treat trail over in the Disney Animation building in Hollywood Land. Oogie Boogie Dr. Doofenshmirtz from Phineas and Ferb has returned this year with a treat trail at the Disney Junior Theater in Hollywood Land. Dr.Doofenshmirtz You can find Ernesto de la Cruz singing to guests at the treat trail located just outside Avengers Campus in Hollywood Land. I have to sing! There is also a treat trail in Pixar Pier featuring Syndrome. Syndrome It was Agatha all along! You can find Agatha Harkness over in Avengers Campus. Agatha at Oogie Boogie Over in Grizzly Peak, you can find a treat trail featuring the Mistress of All Evil, Maleficent. Maleficent treat trail You can also spot everyone’s favorite temperamental villain Hades! Hades Treat Trail Finally, you can visit Judge Doom from Who Framed Roger Rabbit near Hollywood Lounge in Hollywood Land. Judge Doom Villains Grove Redwood Creek Challenge Trail is the place to be for a full walkthrough experience with some of the best Disney Villains around. Villain’s Grove This year, the sections you’ll get to explore are: Frollo’s Sanctuary Maleficent’s Will Queen of Hearts Garden Scar’s Elephant Graveyard Dr. Facilier’s Friends on the Other Side The Wicked Queen’s Lightning Forest Home of the Wisps Dawn It’s a little spooky in here! While this is a bit spookier, no one is intentionally trying to scare you, and there aren’t any jump scares. Still, it may be helpful to prepare younger kiddos for what they’re going to experience, and perhaps go through when it’s still light outside if you’re concerned. Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake – A Haunted Mansion Street Party This year, the beloved Frightfully Fun Parade has been replaced by a new offering, Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake – A Haunted Mansion Street Party, due to construction around the backstage area. Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake This is a new parade of its own kind, full of spooky music, energetic dancing, and spirited Characters. If you’re a big fan of Haunted Mansion, we’ve got a feeling you’ll LOVE this! Constance Hatchaway Float We absolutely loved this experience, so be sure to check your guide for times and prioritize seeing this during your time at Oogie Boogie! Food This year, there have been tons of Halloween eats announced for Disneyland Resort, but none of them are only available during Oogie Boogie Bash! Regardless, we did choose to snag a few treats during the party to give them a try. We headed over to Schmoozies! first to snag the Matcha Mickey-shaped Waffles filled with banana custard. Mickey Matcha Waffles From the Cappuccino Cart, we snagged the Mickey-shaped Waffle Macaron. This is a Mickey-shaped macaron filled with salted maple buttercream, maple syrup, and chocolate-coated waffle pieces. After D23, news isn’t slowing down around Disney World, even though it would make our lives 10 times easier. It’s our job to keep you up to date, so that’s exactly what we’ll do! Magic Kingdom Currently, 18 lands, rides, restaurants, shops, and hotels are under construction at Disney World. But what’s closed this week? Let’s take a peek! Let’s take a look at all of the current closures in Disney World from August 22nd through August 29th. Magic Kingdom Carousel of Progress Carousel of Progress closed on July 6th to undergo a major refurbishment. The work will include completely revamping the scenes in the attraction to make them more modern and represent more recent parts of history, as well as adding a new Walt Disney animatronic at the opening. ©Disney Currently, the attraction is set to reopen in 2027, though no official date has been set yet. Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island An iconic part of the Magic Kingdom is now permanently closed. As of July 7th, 2025, the Rivers of America, including the Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island, are permanently closed to make way for the new Cars area, Piston Peak. There are lots of construction walls up in the area now, and the structures on Tom Sawyer Island have been demolished. Most recently, we saw a new addition to one of the old boat docks, as a shed-like structure has now been added to the boat dock near Memento Mori. A new building? Piston Peak National Park will be replacing this area of the Magic Kingdom. Disney has not yet announced an opening date for the new Cars area, but we do know it will feature two brand-new attractions and be themed to look like a National Park. New Model Shows How Magic Kingdom’s Newest Expansion Will BLEND In Disney’s Hollywood Studios Vacation Fun Disney announced that Vacation Fun will be closing for the second time this year on Sunday, August 9th. So far, no reopening date has been announced, but the area is currently being used as an Annual Passholder magnet distribution site through September 24th, so it’s likely the closure will at least last through then. Vacation Fun The first time this attraction closed this year was on April 29th for a special May 4th Star Wars merchandise event. (Parts of) Animation Courtyard Animation Courtyard closed on September 25th, 2025, to make way for Walt Disney Studios. The courtyard area, new Disney Jr. show, and meet-and-greet station for Sofia the First and SuperKitties officially opened on May 26th. Star Wars Launch Bay will be turned into The Magic of Disney Animation. This attraction will have you interacting and exploring with this fun take on Disney Animation headquarters, complete with the return of the Sorcerer Mickey hat! The Magic of Disney Animation in Walt Disney Studios This area will also feature a new Drawn to Wonderland indoor play area that we can’t wait to see! Now, we know the rest of The Walt Disney Studios will open on September 14th. Muppets Courtyard Muppet*Vision 3D and PizzeRizzo closed on June 8th, 2025, and Muppets Courtyard has been walled off for construction on the new Monsters, Inc. land. Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano has been closed since May 11th, 2025. Most recently, Disney released new information about Monstropolis, saying that “Monstropolis — the monster city now powered by laughter — is getting ready to give humans a glimpse of what’s been hidden from their world for generations. Which raises an interesting question: if humans were never meant to enter the monster world … why are the doors finally opening to us?” ©Disney We’ll get to explore their world during H.U.M.A.N. Day, or “Humans Understand Monsters Are Nice” Day, with Disney continuing to say, “Human guests will have the chance to explore the city, meet its citizens, taste unique cuisine, and step into the everyday world of monsters in a totally new way. For the first time, two worlds once separated are meeting face to scaly, furry, and fang-filled face – brought together not by screams, but by laughter.” ©Disney It’s also been fully confirmed that Harryhausen’s will be one of the restaurants in the new land, in addition to Archie’s Square Pig Pizza. Most recently, we saw teeth arrive at the top of what used to be PizzeRizzo, meaning new theming elements are actively beginning to go in! Monstropolis will open in 2027. Those teeth! If you’re missing The Muppets, you can go visit them at Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets right now! Disney Quietly Shares 4 NEW Details For Monstropolis Land EPCOT La Signature La Signature, one of the stores located in the France Pavilion, closed for refurbishment on June 30th. La Signature closed The store specializes in French cosmetics and fragrances from Guerlain. During the closure, if you’re looking to buy Guerlain products, they’ll be temporarily available at the nearby Plume Et Palette. Sections of Germany Pavilion On July 13th, both the guest bathrooms in the Germany Pavilion and the majority of the Volkskunst store in EPCOT’s Germany Pavilion closed for refurbishment. The roof of Das Kaufhaus is also under refurbishment. Totally closed While a Cast Member did tell us the store closure was to fix the Cast Member bathrooms out of sight, Disney has not revealed a reopening date for the store or the public bathrooms. Disney FINALLY Added an Upgrade to This EPCOT Lounge Disney’s Animal Kingdom DinoLand, USA On February 2nd, DinoLand, USA, officially closed to make way for the new Tropical Americas land, Pueblo Esperanza. Most recently, we noticed that large cranes are in the area to adjust the roofs of existing buildings, likely to keep them in theme. Lots of work! We can also see lots of work happening at the front of the new Indiana Jones ride, Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent! Recently, we got a chance to see how the entrance of the new land is shaping up. Things are certainly looking great so far, and we’re thrilled it’s reached this stage! A new addition! This new land is shaping up nicely! It will have three new rides: El Carrusel de los Animalitos featuring classic Disney animals, Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent where you’ll explore a Mayan temple, and Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto that invites you into the Madrigals’ home. We can’t wait to continue to see how it all shapes up. NEW Look at 3 Rides Coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Expansion Disney World Hotels Convention Center and El Centro Corridor — Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort Beginning on August 10th, the Convention Center at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort began a planned refurbishment that is expected to last through September 2027. Coronado Springs Additionally, the hotel’s El Centro Corridor and surrounding areas will also undergo refurbishment tied to the convention center refurbishment. While there’s no end date for this construction project, we do know that work will be completed in phases, with certain spaces being temporarily inaccessible at times. Boat Dock — Disney’s Old Key West Resort Starting on July 20th, Disney closed the boat transportation at Old Key West Resort, called the Sassagoula River Cruise. These boats usually go to Disney Springs, so now, you’ll need to take a bus instead. Old Key West Dock Right now, the closure is expected to last through early August. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa This hotel has been undergoing refurbishments for quite some time now, but some sections of the hotel — specifically the porte cochere — will continue to undergo refurbishment through at least early 2027. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort We certainly hope it’ll actually reopen on this timeline — we’re a little tired of seeing construction all over this beautiful hotel! Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort Currently, work is taking place all over Bay Lake Tower through Late 2027. Bay Lake Tower While currently no major closures are taking place due to this construction, it’s important to note that you may see or hear construction during your stay. Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort For those looking to dine at this hotel, you need to know that the Turf Club Bar & Grill and Turf Club Lounge will both be under refurbishment from mid-March through mid-September 2026. Turf Club Bar & Grill From early to mid-August, the Turf Club patio will close for refurbishment, and finally, from mid-August through mid-September, the Turf Club Bar & Grill will be closed for refurbishment, but the Turf Club Lounge will be open. Yachtsman Steakhouse — Disney’s Yacht Club Resort On May 11th, Yachtsman Steakhouse officially closed for refurbishment. Yachtsman Steakhouse Recently, it was revealed that reservations for this restaurant are now available beginning on August 28th! Promenade Fine Art Gallery — Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and Resort It was recently announced that the Village Green area of Disney’s BoardWalk Inn will be closed from August 10th through September 4th. This is an outdoor space where you can usually watch Movie Under The Stars, do yoga, attend arts and crafts classes, and more. Disney’s Boardwalk Inn The Promenade Fine Art Gallery closed its Disney’s BoardWalk location on October 20th, 2025. However, the Promenade Fine Art Gallery isn’t closing for good, and it will just be moving to a new location. Promenade Fine Art Gallery Disney just filed permits for the BoardWalk titled “Project Amazon” and “Project Bubbles” earlier this year, and now that we have a bit more information on them, we’re thinking that this currently vacant spot could soon become the home of the new Basin on the BoardWalk store on its way! The shop will be rooted in the resort’s classic boardwalk heritage and will offer a sensory shopping experience that is described as “both timeless and distinctly new.” Jellyrolls — Disney’s BoardWalk Jellyrolls at Disney’s BoardWalk officially closed on April 19th, 2025. This entertainment venue has provided our team with countless memories, and we know many others are also sad to see it close. Jellyrolls had its final farewell performance on April 19th. 2025 and closed its doors forever on Disney’s BoardWalk. It was just recently revealed, though, that a new lounge will be coming to the BoardWalk! ©Disney The new lounge will be called Hurly-Burly and will be a “fun-filled afternoons and glamorous evenings inside a historic seaside theatre with a vibrant BoardWalk story that spans over a century.” Based on the concept art revealed, it’s looking like the former JellyRolls building would be the best fit for this spot, but we’re also waiting to see where the new quick-service restaurant announced for the BoardWalk will be going! When we stay at Disney World‘s Yacht and Beach Club resorts, riding the boat to EPCOT or Hollywood Studios is a must-do. What’s better than taking a boat from a boat-themed hotel to the literal most magical place on earth? Friendship Boat at Yacht Club Resort But Disney put a wrench in our plans on August 18th, when the FriendShip Boat dock closed for maintenance. It was supposed to open today, but we found out it’ll be closed for even LONGER! When we checked out the FriendShip Boat dock today at Yacht & Beach Club expecting to go for a ride, it was still closed! Seeing guardrails everywhere on the day it was supposed to open was SO disappointing! It’s CLOSED! We got closer to see that they’ve completely torn up the wooden pier. The top wooden planks have been removed, and the structural beams underneath are covered with a plyboard. It’s all torn up! We spoke to a Cast Member who said that the construction workers found more damage than anticipated, so the dock will be under construction for at least another week. The Disney World website says that the dock is currently open as scheduled with no confirmed adjusted reopening date. So sad! While the boat dock is closed, you can still access EPCOT and Hollywood Studios with provided transportation. EPCOT is only a quick 5-minute walk from Yacht and Beach Club resorts, and you can reach Hollywood Studios by complimentary bus, the Disney Skyliner, or take the half-hour-long walking path to get your steps in. There are alternative transportation methods available, at least! We’ll be sure to update you on any more closures, refurbishments, and reopenings in Disney World. Jambo everyone, did you know it’s the 25th anniversary of a popular restaurant at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge?! Jiko’s 25th Anniversary Jiko at the Jambo House in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is celebrating 25 years, and we got the awesome opportunity to check out the restaurant’s new menu offerings for the anniversary early. Of course, we had to tell you about our experience and the things we ate! The event was a great experience! Chef Eddie Mendoza and Sommelier Bryon Kelly had planned a special evening to celebrate the big anniversary year of Jiko. We’re at Jiko! When we got there, there was a ton of the new dishes on display for us to check out. Everything looked so delicious, so we couldn’t wait to dive into some of the food. Tasty things to eat! We were first served a small bite of perfectly cooked potato topped with hen of the woods mushroom, tomato and herb oil. It was a perfect little bite of goodness, and it did its job awakening the taste buds as we waited for our appetizers. After that, we tried the Giraffe rolls with butter, which were classic white rolls covered with a rice topping. They were crunchy, and the house-made butter was dusted with cocoa. The butter had a sweet finish, making this a really great upgrade to the classic roll! Giraffe roll! The Duo of Diver Scallop with Pork Belly and West African Koki Corn were the next things we tried. The corn was almost a tamale, and it was so smooth and creamy, full of corn flavor. The spicy avocado tomatillo purée was a perfect spicy addition underneath. As for the Diver Scallops with Pork Belly, it came with sweet, perfectly seared scallops and perfectly cooked pork belly. It was also served over mustard caviar and corn cream. The Western Cape was a light, fruity wine with a very crisp, pleasant finish. It pairs so well with salty pork belly and fresh, sweet scallop. Duo of Diver Scallop with Pork Belly The Seared Venison was another dish that we had, and it was well seasoned and perfectly cooked. Venison can be hard to chew, but this was sous vide to rare and then cooked à la plancha. It was so tender and delicious, and although it appears to be on the rare side, the texture says otherwise and reads more medium-rare. The cauliflower purée was so smooth and creamy and not heavy at all. We do feel like the celery root is an acquired taste, and it takes the place of a potato. Its wine pairing is the Chocolate Block, which is a Shiraz blend that is a deep, fruity glass of wine. It has a cherry-tart finish full of berry flavor. This pairs so well with the venison! Seared Venison Oh, let us tell you about the dessert trio of Malta Pudding. It was Amarula-infused Malva Cake, with caramel-sea salt gelato, Kataifi, chocolate garnish, and sweet Shiraz Gelée. The flavors are so well balanced, and we loved the crunch of the Kataifi. We wish there was more ice cream, as it added moisture to the treat. We love the desserts! The Melktert was a super creamy, gelatin-stabilized Anna cotta-style custard with cinnamon cream, berry compote, and corn flake crunch. This was very good and creamy, with very subtle flavors. While the Potije Pot, with chocolate custard, lemon-olive oil cake, whipped caramel, cocoa nib crunch, and cherries, was also delicious. It was actually our favorite dessert of the night, with so many delicious layers. The chocolate was so well balanced with the cherry and crunchy flavors. Melktert We were honestly delighted by the array of different flavors and tastes that are from Africa that you can experience at Jiko. Jiko celebrates the flavors and makes them approachable for so many in such a very special place. From dishes that have been on the menu since day one, like the classic steak with macaroni and cheese, to the incredible venison. This is a very special place, and we would recommend it to anyone who is looking to be a little bit more adventurous with their taste buds and to experience something truly amazing! Come to Jiko! Halloween has officially arrived in Disneyland! Which means fall decorations, Oogie Boogie Bash, and lots of exclusive Halloween treats to try. Sally Pumpkin Spiced Cupcake There are lots of new Halloween treats to try this year, and today we are bringing you reviews of all 11 treats we tried to see if they should be added to your list if you are visiting Disneyland this Halloween season. Disney revealed so many new treats that all look incredible, which means it’s going to be SO difficult to narrow down which treats you want to prioritize this year. So today we are bringing you full reviews of a bunch of Disneyland treats, so you know if it should make it onto your list. Fall in Disneyland First up, we visited Market House to try the Churro Hand Pie for $6.49. This is a pastry crust filled with spiced cake, with cinnamon and sugar on top. This tasted very similar to a coffee cake that was placed inside a pie crust. The inside was so soft, and the thick layer of cinnamon really came through! Churro Hand Pie The flavor was strong and came through extremely well without being overpoweringly sweet. A word of warning: this treat was very messy between the cinnamon sugar and how crumbly it was, so be prepared with napkins. This isn’t something we would go out of our way to try again, but it was very delicious, and if you love coffee cake, this is a great option for you! Churro Hand Pie We also visited Alien Pizza Planet to check out the Alien Macarooooon for $9.49. This is made with a classic sweet macaron shell, with a tart berry filling, and an adorable Toy Story design. When you first bite into this treat, you get a tart flavor quickly followed by a nice sweet kick. Alien Macarooooon That sweetness comes from the sugar in the shell, while the center is very tart with a berry flavoring. The Alien’s eyes are made with white chocolate. Overall, this is a great mix of sweet and tart, and it’s a great portion for the price. If you are looking for an absolutely adorable treat this Halloween season, you should try this! Alien Macarooooon Next up, we went over to Edelweiss Snacks to grab the Matterhorn puff for $7.49. This is filled with cinnamon apples and cream, topped with chocolate and sugar. We were shocked by how much we enjoyed this treat! There was so much of the incredible cream filling, which was complemented so well by the cinnamon apples. Matterhorn Puff The cinnamon flavor came through really well without being overpowering. The shell was perfectly soft, and the chocolate on top was an amazing addition to finish off this treat. Overall, this was a really good treat and definitely worth a try. Matterhorn Puff Next, we took a trip over to Schmoozies! to try the Matcha Mickey Shaped Waffles for $10.99. This is made with matcha-flavored batter, matcha powder, banana custard filling, and whipped cream. While these might not be the cutest snack, they were very tasty! The matcha flavor was very mild, and the banana custard complemented the matcha very well. Matcha Mickey Waffles We would recommend eating these quick because the custard does make the waffle a little soggy. The whipped cream added a nice sweetness, and the most prominent flavor here was definitely banana, so if you are not a banana fan, you might want to skip this. These flavors were amazing, and we would recommend giving this a try if you love matcha and banana! Matcha Mickey Waffles We also stopped by the Cappuccino Cart in Disney’s California Adventure to try the Mickey-Shaped Waffle Macaron for $9.50. This is a Mickey-shaped macaron with Salted Maple Buttercream, Maple Syrup, and chocolate-coated waffle pieces. Mickey Macaron Waffle This was full of rich caramel, vanilla, toffee, and maple syrup. That was very sweet, and the buttery interior really added to that sweetness. If you love sugar and sweetness, or you’re craving waffles, this will satisfy you and is worth a try! Mickey Macaron Waffle Next up, we took a trip over to Lucky Fortune Cookery to try two snacks. First up, we got the Seasonal Baymax Macaron for $8.99. This is made with Ube cream and a salted caramel filling. Seasonal Baymax Macaron This was one of the richer and sweeter Seasonal Baymax Macarons we have tried, and it was delicious. The Ube and Caramel flavors worked together very well, and we really enjoyed this. But be warned that the cream is VERY purple and will dye your hands, so make sure you have napkins. Seasonal Baymax Macaron We also tried the Three Milk Ube Tea for $7.99. This is made with Ube Milk Tea, Boba, Whipped Cream, and shredded coconut. This drink was shockingly very good! Three Milk Ube Tea It was super refreshing and a little heavier, so if you want to try lots of snacks, know that this one might be more filling. Both the whipped cream and coconut added a good flavor, but the texture of the coconut shreds was a bit odd. This was very tasty, and we would definitely try this again! Three Milk Ube Tea Next, we grabbed the Fluffernutter Churro for $8. This is a classic Churro topped with peanut butter sauce, marshmallow sauce, and chocolate chips. Fluffernutter Churro This was ooey gooey, warm, and ultra sweet. The peanut butter and chocolate were a natural blend, although the marshmallow did get a little lost in the mix. The cinnamon churro added an extra layer of sweetness. This was heavy but very tasty. Overall, we felt like this was slightly overpriced for what you got, but it was still a good treat and a must-try if you love peanut butter. Fluffernutter Churro Then we went over to Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor to try the Rest in Chocolate for $12.79. This is Chocolate Ice Cream in a Chocolate-Covered Waffle Cup, with Chocolate Cookie Crumbles, Gummy Worms, and a Chocolate Tombstone. We LOVED this one! This was an incredible value: you get two big scoops of ice cream (you can choose any flavor you want), and there are tons of those toppings throughout. You could definitely share this, and we would get this one again, cause you can’t go wrong with Ice Cream covered in Oreos on a hot day! Rest in Chocolate Last up, we visited Grand Hall Cart Halloween Treats and got two items. First up, the Gingerbread Skeleton Cookie for $11. This was a classic Gingerbread Cookie covered in icing. Gingerbread Skeleton Cookie This might be one of the best gingerbread cookies we’ve ever tried. The cookie was soft, airy, and had an amazing texture. The gingerbread flavor was strong without being overpowering, and the cookie itself was not exceedingly sweet. The icing on top added to the sweetness, but it was the perfect amount and was not overpowering. We LOVED this one. Gingerbread Skeleton Cookie Finally, we grabbed the Sally Pumpkin Cupcake for $9. This is made with devil’s food chocolate chip cake with a coffee fudge filling, topped with pumpkin spice buttercream. The cake was moist, airy, and delicious! Sally Pumpkin Spiced Cupcake The devil’s food chocolate chip cake was super subtle, but there weren’t any actual chocolate chips in the cake. The chocolate flavor comes through from the coffee fudge, and the pumpkin spice buttercream made everything exceptionally balanced. The cinnamon to nutmeg to pumpkin ratio was perfect, with none of them overpowering the other. This was rich, decadent, and a must-try this Halloween season!
