  2. Choosing where to stay at Disney World is one of the biggest decisions you’ll make when planning your vacation. The Dolphin Hotel While plenty of guests book one resort and never think twice about it, some hotels offer perks that can completely change the way you experience your trip. If you’ve never considered staying at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort, there are two major reasons it might convince you to switch hotels on your next Disney World vacation. Room Service Makes Resort Days Even Better Sometimes the best part of a Disney vacation is slowing down for a little while. Whether you’re taking a midday break from the parks or planning a full resort day, having room service available can make your stay feel much more relaxing. Especially since most of the Disney Resorts do not have room service anymore! Instead of heading back out to grab food after a long day of walking, you can have a meal delivered right to your room. Swan and Dolphin Resort It’s especially convenient if you’re traveling with little ones who are already asleep, if you’re exhausted after Extended Evening Hours, or if you simply want a quiet breakfast before heading to the parks. It may seem like a small perk, but after logging 20,000-plus steps in the parks, being able to unwind with dinner in your room can feel like a luxury you’ll wonder how you ever vacationed without. They are available for breakfast from 6 to 11 AM and for dinner from 5 PM to midnight. Sushi from Kimonos And guys, the food is actually fantastic! For dinner, you can order things like quesadillas, chicken wings, soups, salads, wraps, burgers, and even pizza. But that’s not all; there are several pasta dishes and Asian cuisine you can order, including sushi! For breakfast, you can order cereal, waffles, omelets, and more. We love the variety you can get here without even leaving your room! Some of the dinner entree options. ©Swan & Dolphin You Can Walk to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios Location is everything at Disney World, and this is where the Swan and Dolphin truly shines. The resort sits within walking distance of both EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, making it one of the most convenient places to stay on property. Instead of waiting in long bus lines at the end of the night or squeezing onto crowded transportation during the morning rush, you can simply stroll back to your hotel. Walking path The International Gateway entrance to EPCOT is just a short walk away, making it incredibly easy to pop into the park for dinner, a festival snack, or a few attractions without committing to a full park day. The walk to Hollywood Studios is just as convenient, and if you don’t feel like walking, you also have access to Friendship Boats that travel between the parks and nearby resorts. Having multiple transportation options gives you extra flexibility and can save valuable vacation time throughout your trip. For guests who plan to spend a lot of time in EPCOT or Hollywood Studios, it’s hard to overstate just how much this location improves the overall Disney experience. Less time commuting means more time enjoying attractions, dining, and entertainment. Swan and Dolphin Hotel walkway to parks If you’ve always stayed at the same Disney Resort, it might be worth branching out. Between the convenience of room service and the unbeatable ability to walk to two of Disney World’s most popular theme parks, the Swan and Dolphin offers perks that can completely change your vacation. 3. Disney Springs is THE place in Disney World for shopping, dining, and entertainment, but there are some days that we walk into this part of Disney World and flat-out CRINGE. Disney Springs Sign We love everything Disney Springs has to offer, from sought-after Disney merchandise to mouthwatering restaurants (I’m talking to you, Homecomin’), but there are just some things that give us the ick when we’re here, and we’re laying it all down for you right now! Looking For Transportation That’s Not There There are a lot of different modes of transportation Disney guests can take — the Monorail, the ferry boats, the Friendship Boats, the Skyliner, rideshare options — the list goes on and on. But not every area has the same modes of transportation. So, when people are looking for transportation like the Monorail or the Skyliner in Disney Springs, we take a deep breath. Monorail at EPCOT Disney Springs only has two free modes of Disney transportation — the buses and the boats to nearby resorts. There is also a rideshare option, but that comes at an extra cost. It’s also important to note that the buses and boats only go to resorts, not the theme parks. If you want to go to one of the four theme parks and you’re at Disney Springs, you’ll either have to board the buses or boats back to your resort and go from there, or take a rideshare over to the parks. Disney Springs Boat Dock We Just Got A BIG Magic Kingdom Transportation Update Can’t Find Pleasure Island We get it — it may have been a long time since your last Disney trip, and things may not look the same anymore, but one of the biggest icks we get when going to Disney Springs is seeing someone looking for Pleasure Island. This area was catered to adults with themed nightclubs, bars, and entertainment venues and officially closed in September 2008. While we do cringe at this moment, we can’t help but feel bad because let’s be real — we miss it too! Pleasure Island 4 Abandoned and Creepy Parts of Disney World Trying To Board A Bus Without A Reservation This is the newest addition to our “Top Cringey Things You Can Do in Disney World” list because this rule was enacted just under a month ago! Now, guests boarding the buses to nearby Disney resorts MUST show their hotel or dining reservation to be allowed on board. The New Bus Rule Recently, we’ve really gotten the ick when guests are turned away from boarding because they weren’t aware of this new rule. Even worse is when the guest turns it into a whole scene by arguing with the Cast Members, who are only doing their jobs. Don’t be that person and read up on Disney’s newest rules before your next trip! Disney Bus Everything You Need To Know About the New Disney Springs Transportation Rule Leaving Your Kids Unsupervised Many guests think that they can leave their children unsupervised in Disney World because there’s always a Cast Member around to watch, but PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS. Cast Members are there to help make sure you are having a great vacation, not to be free babysitters. Not only is it cringey, but it’s also not allowed — all children must be supervised by an adult, no matter where they are or if there is a Cast Member nearby. It can get very crowded in Disney Springs since it doesn’t require a park ticket, so always keep an eye on your children! Disney Springs Crowds Are Disney’s Theme Parks Getting MORE Crowded? New Report Reveals All Obstructing Walkways One of the most common things to do that is extremely cringey is to obstruct walkways. We see this ALL the time — stopping in the middle of a walkway to tie your shoe, standing in front of an entrance to a store, blocking an emergency exit; we see these things CONSTANTLY! The next time you’re caught in a similar situation, just take a moment to step to the side and be aware of your surroundings because obstructing these areas is actually prohibited in all parks and resorts in Disney World. Disney Springs So, before your next trip to Disney Springs, remember these cringey things and AVOID them at all costs! We’re always here giving you tips for your upcoming Disney World trips, so stay tuned to DFB for more! 6. One of Disney’s biggest events of the year is coming back this fall to California Adventure! Oogie Boogie Bash 2025 Oogie Boogie Bash is the most spook-tacular offering for the Halloween season at Disneyland Resort, and it’s VERY popular! In 2026, it’ll be running on select nights from August 18th through October 31st. Just a few weeks are left until the first night happens, and we just got a MAJOR teaser about a new character! The video shows pink potions brewing. Perhaps the poison…the poison for Kuzco? The poison chosen specifically to kill Kuzco? Kuzco’s poison? Yeah, that looks about right. The video ends with a purple feather falling down to the tray, a feather that looks suspiciously like the ones Yzma wears. We’re pretty confident on this one, folks! Spinach Puffs! ©Disney This would not be the first-ever appearance of Yzma in the Disney parks, but it’s exceedingly rare. We’re talking specialty events or runDisney races for the most part. This is a character whom dedicated Disney fans love and based on the hype in Disney’s comments, are VERY excited to see in California Adventure. ©IMDb ©Disney We’ll be at Oogie Boogie Bash this year to bring you all the updates and share the new happenings with you, so stay tuned to DFB by following us on social media and subscribing to our newsletter. 7. According to the Orlando Business Journal, the Holocaust Museum for Hope & Humanity is being built in downtown Orlando. While this was announced in 2020, this new update might make visiting the museum the top of your list. ©OBJ A design firm known for its work on theme parks is working on the museum. The Orlando-based company, MDSX, is designing exhibits for the museum. The $63 million project plans to break ground near the end of the year in downtown Orlando. ©OBJ MDSX Chief Creative Officer Steve Tatham told the Orlando Business Journal that he was prepared for people to ask and wonder why he is involved in the project. Before joining MDSX, Tatham worked as the executive creative director for Universal Orlando’s Epic Universe. He said that the key component of theme park design is storytelling, much like that of some museums. ©HMREC “These tools that we use, what I call narrative architecture, the telling of stories through physical spaces, are very impactful in theme parks,” Tatham said. “If you want to tell the story of Harry Potter or Star Wars, you can use physical spaces that are familiar to people to evoke emotions — so we are using that.” Currently, the Holocaust Memorial Resource & Education Center of Florida is located at 851 N Mailtain Ave and opened in 1986. The new location will be around 25,000 square feet, which is more than triple the size of the current space. ©OBJ Suzanne Grimmer, senior director of museum experiences, said the latest partnership with MDSX is intended to build something unlike a traditional museum, such as one full of glass boxes with artifacts. Grimmer mentioned that the storytelling methodology for the new museum is ideal for this unconventional approach. The new museum will center on the stories of eight Holocaust survivors, all of whom currently live in Florida. ©OBJ Suzanne said, “We’ve had past designs and schematics done for this exhibit, and the reason that we decided to conclude those and go with MDSX is that when we’re going through it. They were neutral. I was failing to see where my connection to the survivor was, and it felt like the room was at the forefront and not the story.” ©HMREC “This approach represents a deliberate shift away from perpetrator-centered storytelling toward an experience grounded in lived moments, emotional truth and human connection,” according to the center’s website. The new museum is set to open in 2028. Make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more news in the Orlando area. 14. The Carousel of Progress is currently closed in Magic Kingdom as it goes through a major refurbishment. Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress It closed in early July with plans to open in 2027, but Disney just filed a new permit that gives us a bit of an idea of the work going on behind the scenes. A permit was filed for “general construction” at the Carousel of Progress, under Walt Disney Imagineering. This is one of the many permits that have been filed for the space, likely with more to come, but this shows that even though it closed only a few weeks ago, Disney is ready to get to work and start the project. Carousel of Progress Each scene is being completely redone to represent new decades. The first act will be set in the 1960s, starting with the 1969 moon landing. The second act will be the 1980s, where Sarah is showing off her latest kitchen appliances and gadgets. ©Disney The third act is the new millennium, and you get to join New Year’s Eve 1999 with the whole family. The final, fourth act will showcase a possible future where a beautiful tomorrow is just a dream away. ©Disney Disney World’s first Walt Disney animatronic is also being added, along with an introduction scene. We saw the first Walt Disney animatronic over in Disneyland, and we’re SO excited to finally have one on the East Coast. Walt Disney — A Magical Life D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event starts on August 14th and is usually where Disney announces new projects and gives us updates on current ones. While they announced this project in May along with some concept art, we hope to hear a little bit more about it at D23. 16. We’ve been to Disney World countless times, and we’ve seen many things. The one thing that we simply CAN’T let happen anymore is guests eating on the floor. Animal Kingdom We’re telling everyone to stop sitting and eating on the floor at Disney World, because YOU DON’T HAVE TO! So, why’s everyone doing it? Well, we think it’s because you’re not aware of this expert tip yet. We recently went to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and you wouldn’t believe how our day started. We saw people sitting on the floor and eating breakfast in Discovery Island. The thing is…they didn’t have to sit on the floor. In fact, there were tables open right beside them. So, why were they on the floor? Animal Kingdom Despite the seating area at Flame Tree Barbecue being open and completely empty, no one was moving over to the tables. They were just sitting on the floor and eating. To be honest, we didn’t blame them. Sure, the tables and seats were open, but the restaurant wasn’t open yet. Flame Tree Barbeque Here’s a little expert tip for you if you run into this situation. Even if the Flame Tree Barbecue is closed, you can still use the tables. You might even become friends with the ducks and squirrels hanging out there! Flame Tree Flame Tree isn’t the only restaurant you can do this at; there are a lot of restaurants at Disney World where you can find a table to sit at even when it’s closed. Not every restaurant, but a lot of them. So, how do you recognize where you can find a table in the morning? Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom For starters, this would apply to quick-service restaurants only! It’s probably obvious that you wouldn’t be able to go into a sit-down restaurant and take a seat at a table, but just to put it out there. Woody’s Lunchbox Secondly, this will mostly only apply to outdoor seating at quick-service spots. For example, Cosmic Rays at Magic Kingdom has both indoor and outdoor seating. If the quick-service spot is closed, you won’t be able to get a seat indoors, but you can certainly grab one outside Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe You’ll find quick-service spots all around each of the four parks at Disney World, as well as the hotels. Hopefully, the next time you see an open table beside you, you’ll take a seat there rather than on the floor. Even if the restaurant is closed! 18. Welcome, one and all, to Disney’s famous Magic Kingdom! Gaston’s Cinnamon Roll Cinderella Castle is there, shining in the distance to welcome you to 6 immaculately themed lands, 23 rides, and more characters than we can count. As you explore that famous theme park, you might find yourself getting a bit hungry. That’s why we’re here to break down where and when you should eat in Disney’s Magic Kingdom! There are tons of different foods to try in Disney World. While some of the absolute best food is hidden at the resorts and around Disney Springs, Magic Kingdom still has some items that we are absolutely in love with. We’re breaking it down bite by bite so you don’t have to. Breakfast Bites Starting off strong, you’re going to need some delicious breakfast during your theme park day. There are a few stops that are worth your time and money in the park, starting with one of our favorites, the Warm Cinnamon Roll from Gaston’s Tavern. Gaston’s Tavern — Warm Cinnamon Roll This sweet cinnamon roll is $7.99, but it’s worth the extra $1 to get more icing on the side! This has been a favorite of ours for years because it’s so large, fluffy, flavorful, and exciting. This is everything Magic Kingdom is meant to be in our eyes. Big, over the top, sweet, and memorable. It’s also easily shareable! Ask for extra icing! If you’re looking for something a bit more filling that isn’t covered in icing, consider heading to Sleepy Hallow Refreshments for the waffles. There are several different waffles to try, and they’re all $13 or less. These range from sweet to savory, so your entire party can find some variety. They’re filling and a great way to start the day off. Waffle from Sleepy Hollow! Finally, if you don’t like a big breakfast, the Sticky Bubble Bread is $6.49 and a great snackable size. This one is from The Lunching Pad in Tomorrowland and is a great post-Space Mountain exploration. This spot also has a Breakfast Bowl for $11.49, although it would only be our recommendation if you’re wanting something savory. Sticky Bubble Bread The Gaston’s Tavern cinnamon roll and the Sleepy Hollow waffles are available all day. The Lunching Pad breakfast ends around 10:30 AM. Breakfast is best grabbed right after rope drop ends, so you don’t waste a single second of your morning rush. If you want the best cinnamon roll possible, skip rope drop and head straight to Gaston’s for the freshest breakfast you can get. FULL LIST: Disney World Quick Service Restaurants That Serve Breakfast and When They Open Lunch Options Lunch can be important during your park day. This is your midday break, a time to catch your breath and the way to fuel up for the second half of your day. Dinner and lunch meals can be interchangeable, so if you’re looking for a quick service recommendation, stick around for our dinner options. If you want to check out a table service dining option, lunch is the time for you, and we’re sending you to Skipper Canteen. Skipper Canteen Skipper Canteen is one of the best options in Magic Kingdom if you’re focused on affordability without sacrificing theme. This table service restaurant continues the dad joke humor you love from the Jungle Cruise, and it has several Easter Eggs scattered throughout the dining room. Our Skipper Canteen spread This restaurant definitely has dishes for more adventurous eaters, but the Pao de Quijo alone is worth a visit. There are some more picky eater-friendly items on the kids’ menu here, but it might not be for everyone, even if it’s for us. If you’re looking for some more familiar bites, Tony Town Square has improved its menu significantly over the years and has some more familiar entrees. The famous Garlic Bread from Tony’s This restaurant is still more budget-friendly compared to others in Magic Kingdom, so that’s why it’s getting a shout-out. Lunching at a table service is a great way to dine, not miss out on a super important time in the parks, and get some good AC easily. Skipper Canteen would still be our first recommendation. Not sure when to eat? Try eating during off times before the lunch rush, so earlier in the day or later in the afternoon, around 1:30 PM or 2 PM. The ULTIMATE Guide to Magic Kingdom Restaurants Dinner Recommendations Now, let’s talk dinner! This is how we’re ending the day, so it needs to end on a high note while not missing out on fireworks and those last-minute rides. First, Columbia Harbour House is our all-time favorite go-to Magic Kingdom quick service. Columbia Harbour House This spot has delicious options that are focused on seafood and chicken. There are some healthier bites (like the Grilled Salmon for $8.99) and other comforting meals (like the Trio Platter for $14.29). You can’t go here and miss out on the hushpuppies for $5.49 either, so be sure to grab those too! This spot is quick and has some amazing quality eats. Be warned, it closes earlier than the park on some days, so be sure to triple-check the quick service’s hours. Columbia Harbour House If you want classic theme park food, Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe is a good spot. For the DFB team, we’re going solely for the Buffalo Ranch Chicken Strips for $12.99. The burgers and fries at this spot are fine; they can even be pretty good sometimes, but our favorite item here is easily those flavored chicken strips. Buffalo Chicken Strips This spot can get PACKED, though, so Mobile Order ahead of time to save yourself the headache. Eating during dinner time can make for a tough, peopley experience, so consider having an early, on-the-go dinner or a later one while you’re camped out for fireworks. The BEST Counter Service Restaurants in Disney World in 2026 Snack Must Haves Finally, what’s a Magic Kingdom day without a few snacks? There are the classics that we have to shout out, like Aloha Isle for a Classic DOLE Whip. It’s cool, sweet, slightly tart, and a great deal for the $5.99 price tag. There’s no dairy, and it’s super sharable, so you will catch us getting this treat every time we’re in Magic Kingdom. DOLE Whip If you want something savory and a bit off the beaten path, the Pecos Bill Chips con Queso for $6.49 is a delicious and easy go-to. They’re not over the top, but they are comforting, creamy, and flavorful. Mobile order these guys and take them away from the restaurant to avoid crowds! Chips con Queso If you want ice cream but you aren’t in a DOLE Whip mood, the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor has an All-American Sundae for $8.29 that we won’t ever shut up about. This has vanilla and chocolate ice cream with hot fudge, peanut butter drizzle, whipped cream, and a cherry to top it off. This is ice cream made even better, so it fits the Magic Kingdom vibe. Our favorite time to get ice cream from the Plaza is right after the park closes for a final perfect moment. All American Sundae Finally, our last favorite savory snack is the Mini Corn Dog Nuggets from Casey’s Corner. These are $10.99, so they can be an entree or snack, but if you’re splitting them, we think they fit in the snack category. Adding a side of cheese for $1 makes these memorable and even better than you can imagine. Crunchy Corn Dog Nuggets with Cheesy Goodness There’s no “wrong” time to snack, but avoiding Casey’s during the lunch rush will be in your best interest. Just trust us on that! Mobile order is going to be your best friend. We Reviewed Our 7 Favorite Snacks in Magic Kingdom Magic Kingdom is often considered one of the worst spots in Disney World to dine, but we’re here to negate that! This park is great for sweet treat lovers, and there are some delicious salty snacks if you just know where to look. 19. There are tons of amazing places to dine in Disney World. We’ve made our entire career out of celebrating, reviewing, and loving (or sometimes hating) Disney food! Welcome to Jock Lindsey’s The theme parks, hotels, and Disney Springs all have incredible dining spots, but they aren’t all created equally. One of the most popular Disney World spots is Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar in Disney Springs. After years of popularity, does it still hold up? We went to find out! Atmosphere Jock Lindsey’s is located at The Landing in Disney Springs, and it is a super detailed spot! This walk-up lounge is first come, first served and doesn’t accept reservations. The bar is inspired by the pilot for Indiana Jones, Jock Lindsey! Outside of Jock Lindsey’s This is the waterfront hangout that he spends time at while Indy is off searching for the Fountain of Youth. You can see tales of their travels throughout the decor of this restaurant. Inside the bar This lounge has table-top seating, high-top seating, bar seating, and more inside the restaurant. There’s also a very cool diving bell booth in the corner, which we’re huge fans of. There’s also back door seating where you can sit outside and look at the water. A closer look at the bar! But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu This menu changes depending on the season! The restaurant has both a Halloween- and Christmas-inspired overlay, which also features seasonal bites that are super popular. If you’re there when there isn’t an overlay, you’ll find different cocktails and tapas to enjoy. The drink menu! There are light bites like loaded pretzels, dips, flatbreads, and more for you to test out. American-inspired dishes with a twist! And now, onto the main event, the food! Before we dive in, the prices we paid for each item are what we list in the article. Prices were slightly lower online, so be sure to double-check before ordering these items. Drinks To drink, we picked up the Cool-headed Monkey for $17.50! This is made with STARR African Rum, Cointreau Liqueur, Lime Juice, Tangerine, Watermelon, and Pineapple Juice! This cocktail was super colorful, and that white foam on top added a super soft texture to each sip. Cool Headed Monkey The most prominent flavor was easily the rum, which offered that familiar tropical spice. The lime and citrus in the drink added a tartness that made the drink even more refreshing and tropical. The rum worked well with those fruity flavors. It was strong, so it’s best to sip on it throughout your meal. If you’re looking for a fruity, tropical drink, this is a good option. Look at that foam! Eats First up, we grabbed the Air Pirate’s Cargo Loaded Pretzel for $25! This comes with Prosciutto, Sliced Brats, Artisan Pepperoni, Smoked Cheddar, Black Diamond Cheddar, Caraway Pickles, Spicy Mustard, and Beer Cheese Fondue. First off, this thing is huge! The Air Pirate’s Cargo Loaded Pretzel This is essentially a charcuterie board but somehow better! The pretzel was soft and fluffy inside. The outside holds up and has a slight crunch thanks to the sesame seeds and salt. The seasoning was just right in our opinion because it wasn’t overly salty, which let the other items around the pretzel shine. A closer look! This dish comes with a spicy German Mustard and Beer Cheese. The mustard was more spice-forward in the sense that it had several savory spices in it, and it was light on the heat. It was a bold and tangy mustard flavor that felt more natural than artificial. The mustard The beer cheese was smooth and creamy. It was more subtle and not as cheesy as we anticipated. It was a nice and thick flavor that we enjoyed, but it didn’t stand out on the board. The beer cheese! The smoked cheddar and plain cheddar cheese on the board had a firm exterior with a mild and familiar flavor. They were chewy but balanced well with the soft pretzel. The salami is thick, chewy, and peppery. The sausage was thick-cut with a tender texture. It also reminded us a bit of a breakfast sausage. The cheese! The prosciutto had a strong cured flavor, but it was a bit tougher than others we’ve had in the past. The dill pickles added a fresh crunch and bright acidity to balance the other items. The entire dish was well balanced while still letting each item shine individually. It has enough for both picky and adventurous eaters to be satisfied. More close-ups! We tried The Bread Dip Pyramid for $13. This is made with Brazilian Cheese Bread, Creamy Tomato, and a Chorizo Dip. The sauce was thick, hearty, and had chunks of tomato in it. It was acidic and rich at the same time, which we loved. The chorizo was very apparent with a smoky, meaty flavor that came through the front of each bite. There was a mild spice, but nothing that was overwhelming. Bread Dip Pyramid The bread was soft, airy, and slightly chewy with a crispy exterior. It pulled apart easily and held its structure. The cheese flavor worked so well with the sauce because of the different textures and flavors. The sauce was easily the best part, but we will never turn down cheese bread! A look inside the bread! Finally, we tried the Three All-Beef Sliders for $17. These are made with Special-blend All-Beef Patties, Tomato-Bacon Jam, House-made Pickles, Lettuce, and Munster Cheese on a House-made Bun. The sliders! The beef patties were juicy and tender and carried the flavor profile in each bite. The patties were well seasoned, so there was true flavor in each bite. The marinara adds a sweet, acidic flavor without being messy. The cheese was well melted, which added a creaminess to the sliders while holding each element together. A look inside! The lettuce and pickles were fresh and added a great crunch to each bite. The bun was soft and light. The sliders offered a sweet, savory, and tangy flavor profile in each bite. Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… You love themed dining You want small plates with great cocktails Or you’re looking for a casual stop for appetizers before dinner You should skip this Disney World spot if… You need larger entrees to enjoy You want a more upscale dining experience Or you aren’t looking for American-inspired dishes Overall This spot has spent years at the top of the best lounges list, and we think it’s still pretty high up there! This spot takes classic dishes we love and puts a twist on them to make them even better. This spot can serve up bites for both picky and adventurous eaters, making it a fun, casual spot for the entire family. The full spread! 20. A long day at Disney World starts with the right pair of shoes, and the smartest park visitors know that happy feet can make or break a vacation. One of our favorite shoes! Between walking several miles a day, standing in attraction queues, and hopping from park to park, supportive footwear has become just as important as your park bag or portable charger. If you’ve been wondering what comfortable shoes Disney grandmas are packing for their latest trips, these are three standout options worth adding to your list. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Your Feet Will Thank You Before Lunch Hoka Clifton 10 The first few hours in Disney World are always easy. It’s the late afternoon when tired feet start slowing everyone down, especially after miles of walking on concrete. That’s why so many frequent visitors look for shoes that deliver cushioning without feeling bulky. The Hoka Women’s Clifton 10 has become a favorite because it was built for everyday running and walking while staying incredibly lightweight. HOKA updated this version with an extra 3mm heel-to-toe drop for an even softer underfoot feel, while the breathable jacquard knit upper helps keep feet comfortable during long Florida days. The compression-molded EVA foam midsole provides featherlight cushioning, and the double-lock lace helps prevent the tongue from sliding around while you’re on the move. It’s the kind of shoe that makes a rope drop through fireworks day feel much more manageable. view ON amazon Don’t Let Sore Feet Cut Your Day Short On Cloudswift Sneakers Disney sidewalks aren’t exactly forgiving, and plenty of experienced visitors know that responsive cushioning makes a noticeable difference after several hours. The On Women’s Cloudswift Sneakers were designed specifically for hard city surfaces, which makes them a great match for the Disney parks. Their CloudTec cushioning system pairs with Helion superfoam to create soft landings while still giving every step a little extra energy. The engineered mesh upper encourages airflow on hot afternoons, and the supportive cage construction helps keep your foot secure whether you’re power walking to your Lightning Lane return time or heading across EPCOT for dinner. If comfort is your priority, this pair deserves a spot on your packing list. view ON amazon Florida Heat Calls for Something Different — 23% OFF ©Amazon Not everyone wants to wear sneakers every day, especially during the hottest months of the year. Some Disney regulars prefer sandals that stay secure while still offering the support needed for long walks. The Chaco Women’s Z1 Classic Sandals have earned a spot on this list thanks to their fully adjustable straps and podiatrist-certified LUVSEAT footbed, which provides dependable all-day comfort. The quick-drying straps are perfect for surprise rain showers or water rides, while the grippy outsole helps provide steady footing around the parks. They’re also built to last for years, and Chaco even offers repairs so your favorite pair can keep coming along on future vacations. view ON amazon Comfort is one thing you never want to compromise on during a Disney World vacation. Whether you prefer cushioned running shoes or supportive sandals, investing in footwear that keeps you comfortable from morning until nighttime spectaculars can make every park day a little more enjoyable. 22. We’re suckers for a cool piece of Disney merchandise! Fantasy Springs at Tokyo DisneySea Over the years, we’ve purchased many, many souvenirs. However, no souvenirs tempt us quite like those in the international parks! Tokyo Disney Resort is particularly good at releasing must-have merchandise, and fans are going to OBSESS over the new pin that dropped. When Fantasy Springs opened in Tokyo DisneySea in 2024, a gorgeous popcorn bucket was released, themed to Peter Pan. The bucket was surrounded on four sides by stunning artwork from the film and made to look like Big Ben. It was incredibly popular at the time! Peter Pan popcorn bucket The bucket even comes topped with a Tinker Bell figure and has an internal light to light up the clock face. It’s perfect for the parks at night, and you can still snag it in Fantasy Springs now! ©Disney But if you want to level up your souvenir game or you’re obsessed with this bucket, you can now snag the Peter Pan Popcorn Bucket Pin. Tokyo Disney Resort announced this new piece of collectible merchandise with a photo alongside the bucket, and they’re TWINS. A souvenir based on another, popular souvenir? Could we call this PIN-ception?! ©Disney You can snag it at House of Greeting, Il Postino Stationery, and a few other locations around the parks. Be on the lookout! Of course, if you’re heading to Tokyo DisneySea to check out Fantasy Springs, there are tons of cool souvenirs to explore. This entire land is themed to Peter Pan, Tangled, and Frozen, and it’s absolutely stunning. There are incredible details around every corner, and we had a blast exploring it when we went for the opening. Fantasy Springs Gifts Tokyo DisneySea is one of the most beloved and unique Disney parks around the world, and we encourage anyone who’s a die-hard Disney parks fan to try planning a visit here at some point. 23. It hasn’t been a great year for travel, including flying. Airlines have been struggling due to rising fuel costs, which have resulted in them making some pretty hard decisions, including raising prices for services like checked bags. One airline even went completely out of business. ©American Airlines However, many airlines have felt the need to cut flight routes to save some money. In February, Frontier Airlines cut flights to 10 cities. American Airlines cut six routes in June. Delta has also followed suit by cutting some of its flights. Now, according to AFAR, American Airlines has removed thousands of flights from its schedule. American Airlines is cutting about 5 percent of its domestic routes, more than 23,500 flights, for the rest of the summer through September. This would be the largest amount of flights cut by a major U.S. airline in 2026. The good news is that United isn’t completely canceling every route to specific cities, but it’s focusing on using larger aircraft in those cities as opposed to smaller planes. The biggest change will be fewer departures per day, so you’ll see less choice with flight times. ©American Airlines Most cuts happened in regional markets and with shorter routes. However, United hasn’t released a list of every city that will be affected by these cuts. Higher costs for jet fuel aren’t the only reasons behind American downsizing its routes, though. United had plans for an expansion with Chicago O’Hare International Airport that never happened, so some of the flights that were removed were flights that had been added in anticipation of those changes that never came. American Airlines Plane United is also still flying more in the summer of 2026 than in the summer of 2025, according to a United spokesperson, who said, “While we’ve adjusted our summer schedule, United will fly more flights and offer more seats this summer than last summer. Our summer flying is increasing, not decreasing.” American Airlines/American Eagle plane If you have plans to fly this summer, you’ll want to stay on top of schedule changes. Make sure you have multiple ways for an airline to contact you regarding changes, including email, text messages, and via the airline’s app. You’ll also want to stay a little flexible so you can handle any changes that might happen. It’s a good idea to continue to check your flights regularly after you book them. ©American Airlines We’ll keep an eye out for more travel changes, so stay tuned to DFB for more. 25. Secret menus at Disney World are hiding in plain sight, and these are the items that guests can’t stop ordering lately! Pao de Quiejo Secret menu items are a fun find at Disney World restaurants and lounges all over property. While not every location has some, there are a few that do, and when you find them, it feels like a little scavenger hunt. It’s always worth asking your server if they do have any secret items because you’ll never know what you can find! Pao de Quijo One of the more not-so-secret “secret” menu items can be found at Jungle Navigation Co., Ltd. Skipper Canteen in Adventureland at Magic Kingdom. The Pao de Queijo, or cheese bread, has been a favorite of ours here at DFB for a while! Skipper Canteen We’re talking about little balls of cheesy bread served alongside a poblano cream cheese and chimichurri sauce. POBLANO CREAM CHEESE?! These are SO good. We loved the sweet sauce with the slight heat from the pepper cream cheese. We don’t think it was too, too hot, so even those who are spice-aversed might enjoy it! The bread was super doughy, although not as cheesy as the Pao de Queijo we’ve had at EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival. ALL THE SAUCE Secret Drinks at Polite Pig Over at Disney Springs, one popular quick-service restaurant is actually keeping a secret—a secret drink menu! The Polite Pig is known for its delicious barbecue, but next time you stop by, head to the bar for these drinks. The Polite Pig You’ll need to tell the bartender “the pig sent me,” and bam! You’ll get the secret drink menu right in front of you. There are three cocktails listed on the menu, including the D3 Private Flight, a Spiced Old Fashioned, and the Black Cherry Old Fashioned. Secret Menu Lobster Mac and Cheese at Nomad Lounge Next, over in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, you can find the Nomad Lounge right next to the signature restaurant, Tiffins. Hand-crafted cocktails, as well as non-alcoholic specialty drinks and small plates, are on offer. But because this lounge shares a kitchen with Tiffins, that also means you can order some secret menu items that you’ll find at the signature restaurant next door. Nomad Lounge The Lobster Mac and Cheese is a hit, but you may not see it on the menu, so ask your server if it’s available. It’s made with chunks of lobster, shell noodles, and a homemade cheese sauce. We thought this dish was super flavorful! Lobster Mac and Cheese Secret Drinks at Yak & Yeti While you’re at Animal Kingdom, head over to the Yak & Yeti for more secret menu drinks. There are four new secret menu drinks right now: Camp VI made with Old Forester Bourbon, yuzu simple syrup, and habanero shrub Scorpion Sting made with Milagaro Tequila, Cointreau, yuzu, cucumber, lime, and siracha Ridgeline made with Tito’s Vodka, Licor 43, pandan extract, espresso, simple syrup Blueberry Zen Yak & Yeti Restaurant bar We recently tried the Blueberry Zen for $18, made with Tito’s Vodka, Cointreau, blueberry, lemon, pineapple, and orange citrate. The orange was really the star here! It tasted like the part of the orange where the orange ends and the rind begins. The vodka was subtle with a slight burn, and the pineapple and blueberry also had their moments to come through. The blueberry was not a main flavor, but the other ones were quite enjoyable together. It wasn’t as sweet as we might have preferred, and we wouldn’t call it a fruity drink, despite the description. That being said, if you want a simpler drink that’s pretty, this could be the one for you. Blueberry Zen Keep your eyes open for secret menu items around Disney World, and it’s always worth asking your server! For more dining reviews and Disney news, be sure to follow DFB! 27. Disney World does everything possible to accommodate people with allergies, as well as those with certain food intolerances, to make dining an incredible part of your vacation. However, one thing Disney World cannot control is the outbreak of a parasite. Mixed Greens Salad The spread of cyclospora cases has been making headline news all over the U.S. Now, CBS News has reported that Florida has also reported cases of cyclosporiasis in recent months. So what does that mean for your Disney World trip? Let’s look at the data. The CDC has reported cyclospora infections in 17 states, including Florida, with a combined 145 confirmed cases from early May through June 16th. According to ClickOrlando, 36 of those cases have happened in Florida, with the heaviest concentration of cases in Lee and Broward counties. Tropical Salad at Typhoon Lagoon The cause of the recent rise in cases hasn’t been determined, but the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services has pegged previous outbreaks in the U.S. and Canada to bagged salad mixes, fresh cilantro, fresh basil, raspberries, snow peas, and scallions. This is why the CDC has stressed the importance of washing all fruits and vegetables under running water, as well as scrubbing harder fruits and vegetables. 1981 Salad at Homecomin’ So how does this affect Disney World? Well, no cases have been linked to the theme parks, and part of the fresh produce you eat in restaurants there is actually grown at the resort. If you’ve ever been on Living With the Land in EPCOT, you’ll learn more about how produce is grown for Disney World restaurants. However, because Disney World has so many restaurants and mouths to feed, the rest of its produce probably comes from local farms and food services like Sysco. Side Caesar Salad According to the CDC, you’ll usually begin to have symptoms of cyclosporiasis about a week after eating or drinking contaminated food or beverages. Common symptoms include diarrhea, loss of appetite, weight loss, cramping, bloating, nausea, and fatigue. Most who contract the disease recover without needing medical treatment. However, this could mean that there are many unreported cases, so the numbers could be higher. Tuna Salad Sandwich Again, no outbreaks have been linked to Disney World, and the Disney World area, including Orange and Osceola counties, has only seen a total of four cases. So, as of now, this outbreak should not cause severe issues for your Disney World vacation. Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom We’ll keep an eye on the situation and keep you updated, so stay tuned to DFB for more.
