One thing you gotta’ love about Disney World this time of the year is all the fall and Halloween-themed snacks that come to the parks, hotels, and Disney Springs. We love making our way throughout the resort and trying all the new ones, which is why we recently headed to Swirls on the Water in Disney Springs. New DOLE Whip Flight! Swirls on the Water is THE place in Disney Springs to get DOLE Whip treats, so when we learned that some new menu items had arrived at this snack spot, we were there SO FAST to try them out. So let’s see what we thought! First up, a new DOLE Whip Flight is now available for $8.99. You get three flavors: DOLE Whip Pineapple and Vanilla Soft-serve topped with a Fresh Pineapple Wedge, DOLE Whip Raspberry and DOLE Whip Peach with Raspberry Crisps and Peach Pie Filling, and Pumpkin Soft-Serve (YES, IT’S PUMPKIN SEASON!) and Chocolate Soft-Serve with White Sprinkles. September DOLE Whip Flight Okay, so we already know we love the DOLE Whip Pineapple with the Vanilla Soft-Serve, so it’s no secret that it’s a tasty combo. It’s a classic…and with good reason. It’s sweet…it’s sour…it’s creamy. We also loved the fresh pineapple wedge that added a nice touch. Like most DOLE Whip desserts, though, it melts fast. Pineapple and vanilla The DOLE Whip Raspberry and DOLE Whip Peach is very sour, and we’ll admit we were disappointed with it. The taste is very artificial. We didn’t get a lot of the peach flavor because the raspberry just overwhelmed everything. The peach filling is a basic pie filling. The crisps also tasted sour and artificial. We’re not a fan of this one. Raspberry and peach Okay, let’s talk about the Pumpkin Soft-Serve with Chocolate Soft-Serve Swirl. We thought this was a really odd flavor combo, especially as the chocolate overwhelms the pumpkin flavor and tastes fake. We think we would have preferred it if we’d just had the Pumpkin Soft-Serve by itself. Pumpkin and chocolate Here’s what’s weird, though…these flavors work out well for the Vampire Mickey Cone for $7.49, which is made with a Pumpkin and Chocolate Soft-Serve, White Sprinkles, and Chocolate Mickey Coin in a Chocolate Cone. Maybe it was the addition of the chocolate cone, which is tasty. It’s still an odd mix, but it works better here. Vampire Mickey Cone We also tried the Peach-Raspberry Sundae for $7.29. It’s made with DOLE Whip Peach swirled with DOLE Whip Raspberry, with Peach Pie Filling, Streusel, Raspberry Crisps, and Whipped Topping, served in a Waffle Bowl. We’ve had this before, and it was a big hit for us at the time. We really liked it this time, too. The flavors are better balanced than what you get with the DOLE Whip flight. Peach Raspberry Sundae We also appreciated the peaches in the peach pie filling that made this taste a bit more authentic. The whipped cream doesn’t add much, but the streusel gives some texture. The waffle bowl, though, is pretty plain. We liked this, though We’ll be back with even more food reviews in Disney World, so stay tuned to DFB for more. There are tons of spots that are considered famous Disney stops. That being said, some are truly iconic, while others are just viral for the moment. Let’s test it together! Trader Sam’s in Disneyland! Now, THAT spot is genuinely iconic. This popular bar, located at the Disneyland Hotel, offers up seriously fun tiki cocktails, delicious food, and more. For a limited time, you can check out their Halloween menu, and here’s what we think about one of the newest items. Welcome to Trader Sam’s! The themed bar is an excellent spot to relax and take a load off when you’re not in the parks, thanks to the fun atmosphere and delicious menu. This year, the spirits have spoken for Trader Sam’s 15th anniversary, and they’ve brought three drinks back from the dead! The Halloween Menu! When we stopped by, we grabbed the Cloaked Specter (RIP 2013) for $20! This drink is made with Planteray O.F.T.D., Planteray Original Dark Rum, Parrot Bay Coconut Rum, Pineapple Juice, Lime Juice, Falernum, Cinnamon, and Angostura Bitters. How pretty is this? We are SO excited that the spirits spoke this drink onto the menu, but be cautious. This drink was dangerous in the best way possible. The pineapple juice hit us immediately upon sipping it with that familiar fruity and slightly acidic flavor. The rum notes came after the fact. The rum was sweet and warm in flavor, making the drink feel more well-rounded. The flower on top! The drink was (unsurprisingly) perfectly tropical and made us feel like we were ready to relax on the beach. As we enjoyed it, it was super refreshing and was great to enjoy over the course of a meal. We would happily grab this one again and again! This drink is only around for a limited time, so don’t hesitate if you want to try it yourself. The front of the menu! We love that Disney is using this spooky season to resurrect some old favorites, and we can’t wait to grab the others before they’re gone. As always, be sure to keep following DisneyFoodBlog for more Disney reviews, news, and updates. Thirty years is a long time to be feeding EPCOT. Over three decades, the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival has given us dishes we still think about, dishes Disney has wisely brought back again and again, and a few things that probably deserved to remain a blurry photo in an old Festival Passport. Check inside the passport For the Festival’s 30th anniversary, Disney decided to crack open the archives. There are 30 special Legacy Items scattered around the 2026 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival, with dishes either returning from previous festivals or getting reimagined for 2026. Naturally, we tried them. And after working our way through the ones released so far, one thing became pretty clear. Nostalgia can get a dish back onto the menu, but that doesn’t mean we’re gonna like it. TL;DR Summary In case you need a quick reference guide, here’s the break down of all of the 30th Anniversary Legacy items, where to find them, and our thoughts for 2026. Some of booths haven’t opened yet, so there’s still a chance some of our favorite legacy items are yet to come! Item # Anniversary item Location DFB verdict so far 1 Warm Raclette Swiss Cheese The Alps Opens Oct. 2 2 Roasted Lamb Chop Australia HIT. Tender, flavorful, chips still work ridiculously well. 3 Belgian Waffle with Cookie Butter Belgium HIT, although VERY sweet. Cookie butter and speculoos absolutely run the show. 4 Pão de Queijo Brazil BIG HIT. Fluffy, cheesy, gooey, still fantastic. 5 Pickle Milk Shake Brew-Wing HIT, with an asterisk the size of Spaceship Earth. More pickle-forward this year, but still fun if you are Team Pickle. 6 Cheddar and Bacon Soup Canada HIT. Soup remains excellent; pretzel roll was tougher than ideal. 7 Canadian Filet Mignon Canada HIT. Flavorful crust, creamy potatoes, properly cooked filet. 8 Dumplings Trio China HIT. Crispy dumplings, tender fillings, excellent sweet-tangy sauce. 9 Potato Pierogi Festival Favorites Opens Sept. 9 10 Bo Ssam Pork Belly Lettuce Wraps Festival Favorites Opens Sept. 9 11 Pumpkin Cheesecake Mousse Trifle Festival Favorites Opens Sept. 9 12 Rodizio-style Grilled Beef Skewer Flavors From Fire MISS. Chewy and overcooked, especially disappointing after 2025’s juicy version. 13 Trio d’Escargots France BIG HIT. Massive improvement over 2025, with fluffy, flaky dough and tender escargot. 14 Schinkennudeln Germany HIT. Creamy, cheesy and unapologetically heavy. 15 Apple Strudel Germany HIT. Excellent vanilla sauce and apple-cinnamon flavor; apples were a bit mushy. 16 Chicken Souvlaki Gyro Greece MIXED. Good chicken and fresh flavors, but some wilted/mushy lettuce dragged it down. 17 Slow-roasted Pork Slider Hawai‘i BIG HIT. Juicy pork, pineapple sweetness, great balance. 18 Gulf Coast-style Seafood Roll Hops & Barley MIXED. The buttery brioche did a lot of the rescue work against a noticeably fishier filling. 19 Potato-Pea Samosas India Opens Oct. 2 20 Chicken Tikka Masala India Opens Oct. 2 21 Pollo al Marsala Italy BIG HIT. Juicy chicken, flavorful gnocchi and Marsala mushrooms. A redemption arc nobody expected from Italy. 22 Spicy Temaki Hand Roll Japan MISS. Tough seaweed, little heat, fish-forward flavor and an overall dry bite. 23 Taco de Camarón Mexico HIT. Great shrimp, crunch and creamy aioli, although we wanted the breading crispier. 24 Freshly Baked Carrot Cake Milled & Mulled BIG HIT. Moist, balanced and exactly sweet enough. 25 Sweet Potato Mealie Pap Refreshment Outpost HIT for spice fans. Legit heat, nicely cooked vegetables, filling plant-based option. 26 Paella Caldoso Spain BIG HIT. Creamy saffron rice, smoky chorizo, juicy chicken. 27 Frozen Szarlotka Swirled Showcase HIT. Essentially frozen apple cider in a very good way; streusel gets mushy if you dawdle. 28 Liquid Nitrogen Almond Truffle Mousse Swirled Showcase MISS/MIDDLE. Good chocolate mousse, but caramel disappeared and we wouldn’t make a special trip for it. 29 Ras el Hanout Cauliflower Bowl Tangierine Café GOOD, NOT MEMORABLE. Well-seasoned and tasty, but not especially unique. 30 Crab and Corn Macaroni and Cheese The Wedge Opens Sept. 18 So, Did Disney’s 30th Anniversary Experiment Work? Mostly, yes. The biggest lesson from eating through Disney’s 30 years of Festival history was that the dishes with staying power generally earned it. Pão de Queijo is still excellent. The Canadian classics are still classics. The Carrot Cake remains one of the best values at the Festival. Hawai‘i’s pork slider can come back whenever it wants. All of the option from Canada But we were even more interested in the foods Disney actually improved. France took an escargot dish we struggled with last year and fixed the texture. Italy resurrected a Marsala dish and somehow made Italy one of our surprise recommendations. Spain rebuilt its paella into one of the Festival’s strongest savory bites. Those are the anniversary foods we want more of. Full booth Keep the recipes that work. Fix the ones that almost worked. And when 30 years of history tell you something was chewy, dry, or forgettable, perhaps nostalgia does not require a rematch. We’ve eaten our way around the entire 2026 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival, so keep checking DFB for all of our reviews, rankings, tips, and increasingly strong opinions about tiny plates of food. 9 Weird, Hilarious, and Shocking Things That Happened on EPCOT Food and Wine Festival Opening Day Read More About the Food & Wine Festival Hit or Miss: We Tried All 30 “Reimagined” Menu Items at the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival2 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival Booths Open THIS MONTHREVIEW: This EPCOT Food & Wine Festival Breakfast Got More Expensive and Less BoozyThe Disney World News We CAN’T Shut Up AboutREVIEW: We Don’t Care That It’s a Slushy, This EPCOT Food & Wine Treat Is Way Better Than We Expected IT'S WINE & DINE TIME! Have you ever wanted to dine and drink like a pirate from Pirates of the Caribbean? Well, Disney offers you that opportunity at The Beak and Barrel in Magic Kingdom. The entire bar is pirate-themed, and, as a result, it’s a pretty popular spot where getting reservations can be difficult at times. The Beak and Barrel However, you might have better luck visiting The Beak and Barrel during a special event like Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Well, here’s your chance to visit this bar during a limited special ticketed event. That’s right. If you’re attending Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, you can take a break from your holiday shenanigans and get up to some pirate shenanigans instead at The Beak and Barrel. The restaurant will be open during the party, and reservations (which are highly recommended) are available now. The Beak and Barrel If you are a Disney World resort guest, you can make reservations up to 60 days in advance of your arrival for the entire length of your stay, up to 10 nights. So if you’ve already bought your Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party tickets and you’re 60 days away from the first day of your Disney World trip, make reservations now on the Disney World website or My Disney Experience app. If you’re not staying at a Disney World resort, you can make reservations starting on September 9th. Siren’s Whisper Need some ideas of what food and drinks you should order at The Beak and Barrel? Well, we really like the Island Provisions, especially if you’re looking to share food with someone. Island Provisions For something with a little boozy kick, try the Lit Fuse. It’s smoky, but it’s got a great banana flavor…so, yeah, we are kinda’ BANANAS for this drink. Lit Fuse Grab the Cursed Treasure for something refreshing without the booze. It’s an indulgent blend of coconut milk and cookie crumbs topped with vanilla foam and pirate’s gold. YUM. It’s like a sweet cream soda. Kids will probably love it, too. Cursed Treasure We’ll be talking more about Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party soon, so stay tuned to DFB for more. Disney Halloween merchandise has reached that dangerous point in the season where we’re starting to think, “Well, technically I could make everything I own pumpkin-shaped.” And Disney is not helping. ©Disney A new Halloween MagicBand+ has arrived online, and between Mickey pumpkins, Minnie pumpkins, bats, candy, and enough orange to be visible from approximately three lands away, we have a feeling Disney Halloween fans are going to be VERY interested in this one. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Mickey and Minnie Mouse Jack-o’-Lanterns Halloween MagicBand+ – Limited Release The Mickey and Minnie Mouse Jack-o’-Lanterns Halloween MagicBand+ – Limited Release is priced at $54.99, and honestly, Disney knew exactly which buttons it was pushing here. The strap features Mickey and Minnie transformed into adorable jack-o’-lanterns, surrounded by tiny bats and candies. The tappable icon keeps the theme going with another Mickey jack-o’-lantern design. It’s part of Disney’s Mickey Mouse Family Halloween Collection and, importantly, this one is a limited release. ©Disney Which means this probably isn’t the MagicBand you bookmark and casually reconsider in November. Beyond looking like Halloween exploded directly onto your wrist, this is a MagicBand+, so you’ll still get all the usual functionality. It can be used to enter the Disney World theme parks with valid admission, tap into Lightning Lane entrances when you have a valid Lightning Lane entry, and link Disney PhotoPass photos to your account. ©Disney MagicBand+ also has color-changing lights, vibrations, gesture recognition, and interactions with select experiences around the parks. Translation: your pumpkin Mickey isn’t merely decorative. He has responsibilities. And we can absolutely see this becoming one of those Disney accessories that starts appearing EVERYWHERE during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party season. It’s festive without requiring you to wear an entire costume, and Mickey and Minnie dressed as jack-o’-lanterns fall squarely into the category of Disney merchandise we did not know we needed until Disney put it in front of us. ©Disney Because this is a limited release, availability could disappear faster than the good candy from the Halloween bowl. If you’ve been looking for a new MagicBand+ for your fall Disney World trip, you may want to check Disney Store now. And keep checking back with DFB, because Disney Halloween merchandise season is clearly nowhere near finished with our wallets. view ON THE DISNEY STORE We’re always on the hunt for the latest and greatest Disney souvenirs and essentials, so don’t forget to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for more! We’re counting down to 2027 because there is so much coming to Disney World. One of those is Pueblo Esperanza, the Tropical Americas-themed land coming to Animal Kingdom. ©Disney This expansion will include three rides, with one focused on Encanto, where you can enter the Casita. Disney Imagineer Joe Rohde has something very interesting to say about the ride. On Instagram, Joe Rohde has been sharing a lot about the Tropical Americas. Rohde was a huge force behind Animal Kingdom, and while he isn’t leading these projects, we often turn to Imagineers like him for their thoughts. ©Disney Rohde was explaining how difficult it is to deliver plotlines in theme parks due to time constraints. Instead of 90 minutes to tell a storyline, you only have a few minutes, and audiences can look all over the place rather than in one direction on the movie screen. ©Disney He talked about how you can focus on a scene where riders already know the stakes, so they can just enjoy the action. The Encanto ride will be just like this. It’s going to focus on Antonio’s gift day, which is interesting because Antonio is a side character, and not one of the two guiding forces, Mirabel and Bruno. Rohde argues that without Antonio’s connection to animals, there would be no reason for Encanto to be in Animal Kingdom, since it’s about family and humans, whereas Animal Kingdom focuses on animals. Casita attraction ride vehicle models Antonio’s gift with animals makes sense for Animal Kingdom and has given them a platform to bring Encanto into the park. Rohde says, “But as stated by Joan Hartwig, Creative Executive over the project, Antonio’s gift opens up the theme of ‘family and extends it to include all the creatures around us. We are all one family. Animals included. And that is a good moral lesson for Disney’s Animal Kingdom.” Capybara! What do you think about this ride focusing on a side character vs a main one? Does it feel any different to you than other rides? Pin Trading has changed a lot in the Disney parks over the years, but this year marked a big change at Disneyland Resort that makes it a lot harder for many guests, but also makes the experience better for others. Pin trading at EPCOT Back in May of this year, Disneyland announced that pin trading would look very different in their parks, but Disney World has yet to follow. While you can pin trade in all of the four Disney World parks, EPCOT is the main hub. However, some issues are beginning to arise with pin trading that have us wondering if Disney will soon implement the Disneyland rules over on the East Coast as well. Pin binders are very popular for pin traders to use, as it allows them to display a large number of their pins in one place, but Disneyland began stopping the use of these earlier this year. The rule now reads, “Lanyards and small handheld pin trading accessories are allowed, subject to the Disneyland Resort rules, but no additional decorations or collateral (e.g., lights, signage, displays, etc.) are permitted.” The biggest change, though? Now, in Disneyland, pins are not allowed to be displayed on benches, chairs, and tables, which means if you’re gathering with a group to pin trade, you’ll need to do it in a “floating” manner. This means that you can’t set up shop somewhere to pin trade — you need to keep it moving. Now, that doesn’t mean you can’t set your stuff down quickly to pin trade with someone — that’s completely fine — but if you’ve seen what pin trading is like in EPCOT? That’s no longer allowed in Disneyland. Pin Trading in Disneyland in the new “floating” manner If you haven’t seen the massive groups that form in EPCOT in the covered area between Connections Cafe and Creations Shop, we’ve got plenty of photos to show you what it’s like and how intense things can get. Again, these Disneyland rules have NOT made their way to Disney World, so people use the benches in this area to spread out their pin sets to trade. Pin trading at EPCOT Now, this is also a popular area for people to just sit in the shade and rest for a moment, so with both things happening at once, you can imagine how crowded this area can get, especially being right near one of the largest quick-service spots and the largest merchandise store of the entire park. This is how pin trading has been for a LONG time, so this is nothing new. However, the same could be said for how things used to be in Disneyland, and then they changed the rules when they saw issues. The problem? We could be very close to seeing those issues arrive in Disney World. Pin Trading in EPCOT Very recently, a video was posted on TikTok exposing the not-so-great side of pin trading. User @abigailfaithfoster posted the video, and in the caption, she mentions how another guest refused to trade with her because she didn’t know the prices her pins were going for on eBay. Many users have also voiced their frustrations in the comments, saying that while many of them have encountered pin traders being rude, others are not happy with the fact that they take up all the tables, even when it’s pouring rain outside, keeping other guests from being able to find shelter comfortably. There have also been reports of some traders who are telling guests that they won’t trade for a pin they have, but that if they go into Creations Shop and buy them something they want, such as a pin or a shirt, they’ll trade. This is completely against pin trading rules, which can cause a big issue. Pin Trading However, at the same time, there are incredible pin traders, such as those who will make trades that aren’t advantageous to them just to help another trader complete a set. It’s a way to connect with other Disney fans over something you both love. Since mystery pin packs are some of the most popular there are in Disney, but it’s rare to complete a set all at once, many traders look for those. The pure joy of seeing someone be able to complete a set, or completing one yourself with the help of other Disney fans, is unmatched! There’s a reason the practice has been around for decades — it’s fun, it brings connection, and it’s unique to Disney. Do you enjoy pin trading? If issues like this continue to arise, and Disney continues to get wind of problems happening that are massively impacting other guests, it’s very possible we could see Disney introduce pin trading rules like the ones over in Disneyland. While it’s been quite the change, many pin traders still very much enjoy being part of the community and have found a way to make it work without breaking the rules. While you still may get the occasional rude person, that’s just part of life. It’s also important to remember that no one is obligated or expected to trade with you (Cast Members included!), so if they say no, that’s their answer, and it’s time to move on. Pin trading So, we’ve gotta ask you all! What do you think about pin trading? Have you witnessed any not-so-great behavior from traders in Disney World or Disneyland, or do you have a heartfelt story about a time a pin trader made your day? Some guests have said they now avoid pin trading as a whole due to having bad experiences, while others push on no matter what, loving the act of trading so much, a few negative experiences doesn’t bother them. Everyone is different, and you may feel differently than the next person (in fact, you probably will!), and that’s one thing that’s great about Disney — there’s SO much to do, you get to choose what brings you the most joy. Pin Board We’ll be sure to keep a close eye out for the pin trading rules and let you know immediately if something changes. If there is one thing we love more than fall at Disney World, it’s a new, fun fall treat to try! Blue Ribbon Which is why we were thrilled when we found out that Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs at Disney’s Boardwalk had a new and very unique fall treat for us to try, and now we are bringing you our full review so you can know if you should grab this treat on your next visit. Blue Ribbon is an iconic snack stand on the Boardwalk that serves many different fun and unique corndogs, and on our last visit we spotted a new fall treat: Pumpkin Spice Cheesecake Fried Hawaiian Rolls for $11. These are fried Hawaiian rolls, pumpkin spice sugar, cream cheese frosting, and pumpkin drizzle. Pumpkin Spice Cheesecake Fried Hawaiian Rolls This was very good! The pumpkin flavor was excellent but a little too subtle. The cinnamon sugar added a nice crunch, and the fried rolls held their crunchy, fried exterior surprisingly well. This came with three rolls, which were all dense and very sweet, so it could definitely be shared with multiple people. Pumpkin Spice Cheesecake Fried Hawaiian rolls This was a very fun fall treat that we enjoyed, although if we had to pick, we would probably stick to the plain fried rolls. But if you’re looking for a unique and delicious fall treat, this is an amazing option! A lot of construction is happening in Disney World right now, thanks to all the new lands and expansions coming to the parks. One is Pueblo Esperanza, a new Tropical Americas-themed land coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, which is taking over the area once inhabited by DinoLand U.S.A. Pueblo Esperanza Model This land will have three attractions, and thanks to some new aerial photos, we’ve got a better look at how construction on those attractions is coming along, including some brand NEW details. Thanks to @bioreconstruct, we have some brand new aerial photos of Pueblo Esperanza, with a closer look at some of the attractions coming to the land. For starters, we’ve got a new photo of the whole construction site. You can see Indiana Jones being built at the top center, while there’s a steel frame on the left for the Encanto ride. The circular structure is for the new carousel. ©bioreconstruct Here’s a photo showing construction of the temple that will become Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent. As you can see in the photo, the temple is really taking shape, especially now that it’s been sculpted and painted. We recently learned that a lot of this work was done backstage, and then a crane was used to put it in place. ©bioreconstruct It’s starting to look a lot like the concept of the ride we previously saw on a model. Model of Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent We also got a good side view of the temple, and you can see how it’s taking shape in real time here. The building behind it remains unchanged from its DINOSAUR days. ©bioreconstruct Pueblo Esperanza will also have a quick-service restaurant, and this aerial photo gives a look at what construction on that restaurant looks like now. Disney has said this would be one of its biggest restaurants, so you can get an idea of the scale here. ©bioreconstruct Pueblo Esperanza will also feature an Encanto-themed ride called Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto. Here’s a steel frame in front of the Casita. For reference, the entrance is on the left while the exit is on the right. There’s also some rock work being added in the backdrop. ©bioreconstruct Finally, we’ve also got an aerial photo of construction on El Carrusel de los Animalitos, which will feature some of Disney’s most iconic animal characters. The smaller circular area in front of the carousel will be a fountain, which will mark the center of the village. ©bioreconstruct Pueblo Esperanza is set to open in 2027, and we’ll be first in line to check it out when it does. It’s the ciiiiiircle of liiiiiife! Festival of the Lion King If that gets you in the mood, you might be a Lion King fan, and we’re with you. To us, it’s not a day in Animal Kingdom without visiting Festival of the Lion King, which is one of our favorite shows across all of Disney World. Disney just filed a new permit for the show, and it could mean construction, refurbishments, or changes are on the way. Disney has filed a permit for the Lion King Theater to “provide labor, material, and/or electrical for construction.” Beautiful! Disney hasn’t announced any changes or closures to the Festival of the Lion King, so it’s possible the work is being done at night after the park closes or in backstage areas. The theater is pretty big once you consider the stage and audience areas, backstage where they keep the floats and all the room for the performers. A Celebration of the Festival of the Lion King Animal Kingdom is currently undergoing a major transformation to welcome the Tropical Americas. Pueblo Esperanza will be home to three attractions and will take over DinoLand U.S.A. The Casita ©Disney You’ll finally be able to enter Casita and join the magical world of Encanto for the first time. The ride takes place during Antonio’s gift day, so you’ll get to see tons of animals and the whole family. ©Disney Indiana Jones is finally joining the East Coast, too! It will take over the DINOSAUR ride and will be a whole new storyline featuring snakes! Why does it always have to be snakes? SNAKES! Don’t forget about the carousel! The animal carousel is packed with different characters, and we can’t wait to find the best one. ©Disney Pueblo Esperanza is opening in 2027, and we’re pretty excited. Since Disney hasn’t announced anything for the Festival of the Lion King, we’ll keep an eye out for any changes hitting the theater. Make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more news, along with tips and tricks to make your upcoming Disney World trip the best one yet. YIKES. We’re only about a week away from the rest of The Walt Disney Studios opening in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and we can’t wait to see The Magic of Disney Animation with our own eyes. Pua and Thumper in Walt Disney Studios Courtyard However, part of The Walt Disney Studios opened earlier this year, and we’ve noticed that Disney doesn’t seem to be completely finished with this part of the project yet either. That’s because we recently discovered something NEW in the outdoor courtyard of the new area: MORE animals have appeared! One of the things we love the most about The Walt Disney Studios is all the figures of Disney animals you can find scattered throughout the courtyard. We’ve seen Lucifer, Zazu, Pua, Thumper, and more. Now, though, even MORE animal figures have popped up, including Little Brother from Mulan. Talk about a rare character sighting! Little Brother! Mulan even stopped by to give him a scratch behind his ear. Awwww! We also spotted Oliver and Dodger from Oliver & Co. seriously eyeing a hot dog. Oliver and Dodger You’ll even see Meeko from Pocahontas enjoying a box of classic Disney popcorn (same, Meeko, same). Meeko munching on the popcorn! It’s these little details that really make this courtyard so fun to visit. You never know who you’re going to run into. But of course, we’re even more excited that The Magic of Disney Animation part of this area, is set to open September 14th. This will be in the building that once housed Star Wars Launch Bay. Now it’s been converted into a replica of Roy E. Disney Animation Building at The Walt Disney Studios headquarters in Burbank. The Magic of Disney Animation The Magic of Disney Animation will be a fun take on Disney’s Animation Headquarters, and you’re sure to spot some familiar characters because the idea is that the characters have come to life while the animators have stepped away. If you’ve seen Disney’s Once Upon a Studio short, it’s something like that. ©Disney New attractions are coming to the space, too, including Olaf Draws, an interactive drawing experience hosted by Olaf, as well as Disney character greetings at Off The Page. The area will also feature the Drawn to Wonderland playground, which is inspired by the concept art Mary Blair created for Alice in Wonderland. You’ll also be able to watch Once Upon a Studio in the Once Upon a Studio Theater. ©Disney We’ll be keeping an eye out for more updates at The Walt Disney Studios, and we’ll be there when The Magic of Disney Animation opens, so stay tuned to DFB for more. Monsters, get your hard hats! Construction is well underway in Hollywood Studios, and we have been following the creation of this new land every step of the way. ©bioreconstruct Monstropolis is slowly coming to life, and we couldn’t be more excited. Thanks to @bioreconstruct, we have a new point of view on the changes going on with this major construction project! It’s been a years-long project, and so far, we’re still seeing tons and tons of dirt! Disney has slowly been bringing the world of Monsters, Inc. to life for a while now, and we are realy starting to see things take shape. ©bioreconstruct At the entrance of the land, the monster teeth have become even more noticeable! Disney has also started putting up the sides of the entrance archways. ©bioreconstruct You can see the archways in the concept art right here. Eventually, they will feature more detailing, monster-like gargoyles, and even more pointy teeth. Between the two archways, there will be a Monstopolis icon on the ground welcoming people into the land. ©Disney On the right side of the land, the Glob Theater is slowly coming to life, which will be the home of the “Welcome to Monstropolis Show.” In front of the theater, you can also see how Disney is laying the pipework for the fountain that will be at the front of the land. Sadly, this fountain will be replacing the Miss Piggy Fountain, which we will never forget. The fountain’s location is clearly carved out in the ground! ©bioreconstruct In the back of the land, the massive building that will be home to the main attraction in the land is growing quickly! The coaster will be Disney’s very first suspended coaster, which will take guests straight into the movie. ©bioreconstruct The show building is located in what was once a Cast Parking lot. If you look closely at the construction vehicles at the site, you can tell how big the area really is! ©bioreconstruct If you look really closely, you can see archways coming to life inside the building. This framework has us really intrigued! To the right, you can see track supports that have been installed. The tallest are for a swoop of ride routing through this space. The lower supports are believed to be for unloading the trains. The ride will also feature high ceilings which you can see coming to life. ©bioreconstruct Behind the site, you can also see the pieces of the coaster’s track laid out. At D23 in 2026, Disney confirmed the coaster will lift riders 40 feet into the air in 4 seconds to kick off the ride! ©bioreconstruct Previously, we saw the chopsticks of Harryhausen’s coming to life, which will be the table-service restaurant in the land. Since then, Disney gave us a sneak peek at what’s coming to the restaurant. The most notable part is easily that incredible animatronic of the head chef himself! The chopsticks! It has been so exciting seeing the entire land come to life over the course of the last several years since it was first announced in 2024. Currently, the land will open in phases starting in 2027. The land will open next year, but the main coaster will open at a later date. Be sure to keep following DisneyFoodBlog for more news, updates, and more! This Disney World restaurant finally has a reopening date! Coral Reef Restaurant There are tons and tons of Disney World restaurants, and not only do we keep track of all of them to see new menus, openings, closures, renovations, and more, but we have also eaten at every single one. Yep, we’ve eaten at all Disney World restaurants, so when we share food reviews, you know it can be trusted. Well, one of the restaurants we feel… a bit conflicted about… finally has a reopening date in EPCOT, the mecca of Disney World food. Coral Reef Restaurant is closing on September 8th and is currently showing reservations for November 4th. It’s closing for planned maintenance and refurbishment, and the ability to book reservations in November is a great sign that it will open in just a few months. Coral Reef Restaurant Now, why do we have mixed feelings on Coral Reef? Well, one of the neat things is that it’s completely surrounded by aquarium walls, and you can watch tons of fish and sea creatures while you’re enjoying your meal — your meal of seafood. Some members of our team feel a bit weird eating fish in front of fish, and you know, it’s not for everyone. Aquarium walls The restaurant is attached to Sea Base, the massive aquarium in The Seas in EPCOT. The whole restaurant is dark, with an under-the-sea theme, and it can almost feel a little hidden. Coral Reef Restaurant We’ve tried a lot of different meals here throughout the years, and not every dish has been a winner. We generally find the meals to be just okay, not dishes we completely rave about, seafood or otherwise. Coral Reef Coconut Fried Shrimp and Chicken Wings Should this restaurant be completely off your list? Nope! We find that there are restaurants for everyone, and if you’re looking for a quieter, darker, and more relaxing restaurant to escape to in the middle of your EPCOT day, this might be a great fit. If you have aquarium lovers, they might enjoy staring at all the creatures during the meal, too. It’s also great if you’re looking for dishes that you’re likely familiar with and want something consistent. Coral Reef We’ll be keeping an eye out for a new menu at the restaurant and whether the refurbishment is worth another visit. In the meantime, make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more Disney news you need to know before your next vacation. Get ready for even more Disney World changes! Lately, Disney World feels like a never-ending sea of change, which can sometimes be fun and sometimes sad. Walt Disney Studios — Animation Building We’ve lost some iconic attractions, but we’ve also gained some seriously exciting new additions to the parks. Now, over in Hollywood Studios, even more changes are on the horizon, and they kick off VERY soon. Get your pencils, animators! The Magic of Disney Animation is only one week away from opening. The newest Hollywood Studios expansion officially opens on September 14th, and there will be quite a bit to see and do. The new expansion is located in the spot that was previously home to Star Wars: Launch Bay! The Magic of Disney Animation sign! Inside, you get to step into the Disney Animation building when the animators have stepped away, and magic comes to life. The experience is inspired by the Disney short “Once Upon A Studio,” which we highly encourage you to check out if you haven’t seen it before! It’s online and on Disney+. The Magic of Disney Animation will include 4 distinct areas for guests to explore. ©Disney Olaf Draws will be an animation class where an animatronic Olaf and a Disney animator teach you how to draw classic Disney characters. The animator will be on a screen (so no live animators), and you can draw characters like: Mickey Mouse, with Dan Abraham, director (Once Upon A Studio, Baymax!) Minnie Mouse, with Hyun Min Lee, animator (Frozen 2, The Princess and the Frog) Donald Duck, with Austin Traylor, animator (Once Upon A Studio, Moana 2) Genie, with Eric Goldberg, animator (Aladdin, Hercules) Moana, with Samantha Vilfort, story artist (Encanto, Zootopia 2) Stitch, with Fawn Veerasunthorn, director and head of story (Wish, Raya and the Last Dragon) Olaf, with Trent Correy, director (Once Upon A Studio, Frozen 3) Ursula, with Michael Woodside, animator (Big Hero 6, Encanto) Judy Hopps & Nick Wilde, with Byron Howard, director (Zootopia, Zootopia 2) ©Disney Guests can also meet Disney characters in “Off The Page”. This area of the new expansion will have different Disney characters across six departments, including Story, Layout, Hand-Drawn Animation, Computer Animation, Lighting, and Effects. The characters include: Mulan in Story (posing in front of an oversized storyboard panel) Rapunzel in Layout ( in “a setting inspired by the classic multiplane camera”) Chip n’ Dale in Hand-Drawn Animation Donald and Daisy in CG Animation Goofy in Lighting Stitch in Effects ©Disney Don’t forget about the Drawn to Wonderland playground! This playground is inspired by Mary Blair’s artwork for Alice in Wonderland, so even the youngest members of the family can have a place to explore. Disney has shared some sneak peeks of the area and confirmed it will include an “oversized flower garden with musical instruments, a Mad Tea Party playset, and a Tugley Wood exploration area.” Drawn to Wonderland Playground Concept Art ©Disney Finally, guests can explore the Once Upon A Studio Theater, which will show the Emmy Award-winning short film Once Upon A Studio. You know, the short that inspired this entire area? Disney also shared that the theater will have “enhanced effects” to “add an extra layer of magic.” They teased that “you may spot characters popping up within the artwork along the theater walls, placing you right in the middle of this enchanting story.” ©Disney This new section of the park is the second half of the phased opening for the Walt Disney Studios, a new land in Hollywood Studios. The first section of this land opened in May 2026 for guests to explore. We can’t wait to explore it all once it finally opens next week! A lot of Disney fans aren’t gonna be happy about this… Indiana Jones Adventure The Disneyland Resort is no stranger to construction and refurbishment projects. Over at Disneyland Park, the rides are generally well-maintained, but they sometimes need lengthy refurbishments to ensure everything runs properly. Those refurbishment projects sometimes include some of the park’s most popular attractions — one of which might be closed well into the fall. Per the Disneyland closure calendar, the Indiana Jones Adventure thrill ride will close on September 8th, 2026, for refurbishment — and no reopening date has been announced as of this writing. Indiana Jones Adventure Indiana Jones Adventure is no stranger to closures. This ride is among the pantheon of best Disney Parks attractions thanks in part to its innovative ride system, exciting audio-animatronics, and immersive special effects. However, because the ride is technically complicated, it does often run into issues. ©Disney Daily stalls are common, and Disney must work extra hard to ensure the ride is at least operating in B-mode. The attraction itself features pyrotechnics, literal moving rooms, and a rolling boulder that is on a path to crushing jeeps. It’s really amazing when it works — but routine refurbishments are required to ensure that happens. Indiana Jones Adventure ride vehicles Currently, the Disneyland schedule shows the ride closed through October 15th — which is as far out as the calendar goes when this was written. Essentially, that means the ride’s reopening date isn’t ready to be revealed. It could be closed throughout October, or open on short notice at any moment. This is not uncommon for Disneyland’s bigger refurbishment projects, but they usually give a few days’ notice, so we can let you know that specific reopening date as soon as it’s announced. We’re sorry to remind you of this sad news out of Disney Springs, but it’s still so shocking to us that we’ve had to force ourselves to remember that it’s happening. Burger from Wolfgang Puck’s Just over a week ago, a rumor began flying that a popular Disney Springs restaurant would be closing permanently, seemingly out of nowhere. We went to go check it out ourselves, and sure enough, it was proven to be true. If you want to eat at Wolfgang Puck’s, you’ve got less than a week left to do so. Wolfgang Puck’s is located in the Town Center part of Disney Springs and will be closing permanently on September 13th. The Disney World website currently doesn’t allow guests to make reservations past September 13th. Disney has yet to announce why the restaurant is closing or what will take its place. Wolfgang Puck’s Tons of frequent Disney-goers love this spot and are sad to see it go, ourselves included. The restaurant originated in California and is known for its American dishes with Mediterranean influences and innovative takes on classic comfort food. The loss of this spot means we’ll be losing one of the true brunch spots available in the shopping and dining district, which is beyond unfortunate. The restaurant is moderately priced, with most meals costing between $15 and $35. In the past, we’ve been big fans of the Bruschetta, Traditional Fettuccine Alfredo, and the Giant Warm Chocolate Chip Cookie is a dessert we’ll be mourning for a long time. Y’all…we’ve been eating REALLY well in Disney World this week, and you know how happy that makes us. First, pumpkin spice latte season is BACK at Starbucks, but what we really loved this year was the Iced Banana Bread Latte. Then we got to dig into some spooky-themed food and drinks at The Great Hooley at Raglan Road. And, of course, we indulged in another cake slice from The Cake Bake Shop. And did we mention we drank a wine slushy flight? Iced Banana Bread Latte And we’re not even full! There are so many sweet treat options in Disney Springs, but we always find ourselves back at Everglazed Donuts and Cold Brew. Whether you’re looking for a cereal donut or a Taylor Swift donut, Everglazed has basically done it all! Apple Streusel Donut Everglazed has come up with some unique flavor combos over the years, but this one made us RUN to Disney Springs at full speed. If you ever wanted a pie-flavored donut, Everglazed just made your dream come true! First, we got the Apple Streusel Donut for $6.95. This is a caramel-iced donut with apple pie filling, streusel, and caramel buttercream. Apple Streusel Donut The donut is soft and fluffy, the streusel is crispy, and the apple filling has those warm cinnamon-and-spice flavors you’d find in apple pie. The caramel icing was super strong, and this tasted more like a caramel apple than apple pie to us, but it’s still SO good! Apple Streusel Donut Next up was the Blueberry Maple Donut for $6.95. It’s a maple-iced donut with blueberry filling, maple streusel, and blueberry buttercream. Blueberry Maple Donut The donut had a soft interior and a crispy exterior that made for a super satisfying bite. The blueberry taste was much stronger than the apple, but it was slightly artificial-tasting. The maple syrup and maple streusel added a strong maple flavor that tasted like blueberry pancakes in donut form! Blueberry Maple Donut We’d recommend these donuts to sweet treat lovers wanting some fall-inspired fruity flavors. Stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more Disney Springs food recommendations! We normally stick with the same type of outfits when it comes to Disney World, but we’re so happy we tried these out! Cinderella Castle We didn’t think we’d be the type to wear short leggings to Disney, but they truly made our Disney day so much better. In fact, we loved them so much that we knew we had to tell you about them. We found a great pair on Amazon that you need to check out! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Get these Short Leggings from Amazon ©Amazon We never thought we’d choose to wear longer biker shorts and be fine with them showing slightly under clothes, but these Short Leggings from Amazon changed our minds. Getting these is SO worth it for the comfort they provide. We have shorter biker shorts that we usually wear with dresses, but they don’t cover thighs at all. Whereas these do the trick. They’re totally worth it to wear the longer shorts and be comfortable all day. view ON AMAZON We’re always on the hunt for the latest and greatest Disney souvenirs and essentials, so don’t forget to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for more!
