D23 is over, which means it’s time to sit back and really take in all of the announcements that came flying at us over the weekend. ©Disney Between movie news, park updates, and so much more, D23 really gave us a lot of news this year. And one of the most exciting announcements of the entire weekend was the updates we got on Villains Land coming to Magic Kingdom. Disney shared so much about Villains Land, including a glimpse into the style of the land, the official name, and even a brand-new roller coaster. Well, today we are diving in and taking an in-depth look at the concept art for this new coaster as well as all of the details Disney has shared so far. This brand-new coaster is set to be themed to The Mistress of All Evil herself, Maleficent. ©Disney This coaster will be a thrilling ride through the enchanted briar that surrounds her castle fortress. The coaster is also set to include elements that Disney has never attempted on similar attractions. We don’t know yet what these elements will be, but we are already excited to experience this ride. ©Disney The concept art shows the ride vehicle racing through the briar with Maleficent’s brooding fortress visible off in the distance. It also shows an image of Maleficent next to the track with the shadow of her dragon form cast behind her, which could be a hint to a possible animatronic guests will be able to see on the ride. ©Disney You can also see her iconic green fire, which we also hope to see incorporated into the ride. Overall, we see a lot of purple and green to mimic her iconic colors, which we also think will play heavily into the visual design of this attraction. ©Disney The ride vehicle itself also has a metal dragon on the front, with the rest of the cars mimicking the metalwork design. This attraction looks like it will be spooky, thrilling, and beautifully designed. After all, it’s themed to Maleficent, so we wouldn’t expect anything else! ©Disney We will continue to bring you all the Villains Land news and updates, so stay tuned to Disney Food Blog so you never miss anything! When it comes to deciding what shoes to wear in the Disney parks, you’ve got a lot of options. Cinderella Castle We know firsthand how awful it can be when the WRONG choice is made (yes, we’ve been there more times than we care to admit), so we’re often on the lookout for what the best shoes are for the parks. During hurricane season, like we’re in now, when rainy days are common, it’s good to have shoes that won’t get soaking wet and give you blisters for the rest of the trip. That’s just one of the reasons lots of Disney fans are switching over to Tevas, and we gotta say — we’re totally on board. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. They’re Built To Last The Weather ©Amazon If you’re looking for a shoe that’s going to withstand the trip, especially on those rough weather days, a pair of the Teva Women’s Hurricane XLT 2 Sport Sandals is a great way to go. True to the name, these can easily hold up against those days of sloshing through water when the parks don’t drain how they should, and the wind is positively whipping. No need to worry about blisters either, since these dry within minutes of the rain stopping. Grab on Amazon! Not To Mention, They’re Casual But Functional ©Amazon Considering there are so many different designs available online, like the Teva Women’s Midform Universal Sandals, it’s easy to find something that will work great for your trip. Tevas are known for being nice and casual for the parks, but depending on what design you get, you can also dress them up a tad for a summer night dining reservation. It’s just another thing we love about them! Grab on Amazon! Don’t Need Any Extra Height? No Worries! ©Amazon If you’re someone who’s concerned about how chunky some of the Teva designs are, there’s no need to stress. The Teva Women’s Original Universal Slim Sandals are likely right up your alley. They’re nice and thin, while also still being able to withstand the elements and the miles a park day requires. Grab on Amazon! They Don’t Break The Bank ©Amazon Something that we love about Tevas is that they’re not here to make you broke and question your life decisions. They’re built to last and be comfortable shoes, but you’re not paying an arm and a leg for them. When in doubt, we recommend looking at the tried-and-true classic — the Teva Women’s Original Universal Sport Sandals. Grab on Amazon! We’ll continue to bring you all the latest Disney news and tips and tricks to help you prepare for your upcoming trip, so stay tuned to DFB! View the full article

We’re not going to lie. Our heads are STILL spinning after all the announcements Disney made during its Experiences Showcase several nights ago at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. SO much stuff is HAPPENING. We got more details about Magic Kingdom’s Cars expansion, Monstropolis in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Villains Land in Magic Kingdom, and more. We even learned that Dreamfinder is returning to EPCOT. ©Disney But Dreamfinder isn’t the ONLY Disney character making a comeback. Disney also shocked us with an announcement that they are finally fixing the Yeti on Expedition Everest in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. So, let’s take a closer look at that announcement and what it might mean for the ride. Well, it seems Disney finally decided on a solution to fix the Yeti now that it’s been announced. However, it’s also very likely that the fix will require Expedition Everest to be closed for a long time, perhaps for even a year or longer. Disney has not yet given a timeline on when the ride will close, but if we had to guess, we might think it will be after the new land, Pueblo Esperanza, opens, or there won’t be very many rides left in Animal Kingdom to ride! Right now, with the closer of DinoLand, U.S.A., only five rides remain open in the park. Overview of Pueblo Esperanza coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom We’ll be keeping an eye out for more announcements about Expedition Everest, so stay tuned to DFB for more. As if we didn’t get enough major news during D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event this past weekend, there’s MORE news out of Disneyland Resort you won’t want to miss. Disney California Adventure Disney gave us a look at the new Avatar Land and Avengers Campus expansion coming to Disney California Adventure during the event this weekend, but now there’s another announcement about the park — a new kiosk is on its way! Disney has just announced on their @disneyeats Instagram page that a new kiosk that will serve up light bites and brews is coming to DCA later this year. It’ll be called Bountiful Valley Brews, and that’s about all we know about this new spot! Since it’s a kiosk, it’s likely this will be a grab-and-go spot rather than an indoor area or a spot with lots of seating. @disneyeats on Instagram Right now, it hasn’t yet been announced where this stand will be in the park or what the menu offerings will be, but you can bet we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for more information. We’ve got a feeling this will be quite the popular offering, seeing as it’ll be a way to grab an alcoholic drink and snack without waiting for a reservation,or sitting down for a quick service meal. Here at Disney Food Blog, we love grabbing a meal at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. Whether you’re whoopin’ it up at Whispering Canyon Cafe, having a refined and relaxed meal at Artist Point, or grabbing a bite to go at Roaring Fork, it’s almost always a good time! The spread! Bars and Lounges around Disney World are family-friendly spots to grab a table-service bite or meal with no reservations needed, and a fantastic spot to nosh is Territory Lounge in Wilderness Lodge. But is it still a must-try spot? Let’s find out! Atmosphere Step into Territory Lounge and you’re immediately enveloped by dark woods, leather trim, and dim lantern lighting. The bar is rarely crowded, and there is comfortable seating throughout. We love the padded, backed barstools, and the round tables offer plenty of room for groups. Territory Lounge But enough about the restaurant – what’s on the menu here?! Menu The Territory Lounge has a wide selection of drinks, including wine, beer, hard cider, hard seltzer, and seven featured cocktails. The drink menu The Shareable Bites menu offers pub food, but with polish. You’ll find seven options, including popcorn, charcuterie, flatbreads, bacon, macaroni, and crab dip. The food menu And now, onto the main event – the food! Drinks To drink, we picked up the Orange-spiced Sangria for $18.50. This is made with Chateau Ste. Michelle Cabernet Sauvignon, Cointreau Liqueur, apple cider, and house-made spiced orange syrup. Orange-spiced Sangria The most prominent taste in this Sangria is the autumnal spices from the apple cider, complemented by the orange flavors, with a hint of the red wine at the end. This was well-balanced and not too sweet, and it’s a great pick if you’re craving fall flavors while it’s still warm out. Orange-spiced Sangria Eats First up, we grabbed the Artisanal Cheese and Charcuterie for $22. This includes handcrafted bread and accompaniments. Artisanal Cheese and Charcuterie There’s a variety of cheeses from strong blue cheese to a sharp cheddar to a creamy, soft burrata ball. As for the meats, the prosciutto was salty, the cured beef was fatty, and the beef-and-pork cured meat had a little bit of spice. There were also crackers, grapes, pickles, carrots, and even pickled cauliflower to pair with the meat and cheese. This was a great variety, and it’s easily shareable if you’re with a group. Artisanal Cheese and Charcuterie Then, we got the Caprese Flatbread for $18. This is a flatbread topped with basil pesto, roasted tomatoes, fresh mozzarella pearls, prosciutto crisp, and balsamic glaze. Caprese Flatbread The flatbread was chewy, soft, and absolutely smothered in fresh basil-forward pesto. The prosciutto was salty and crunchy and well complemented the traditional Caprese elements like tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil. There’s a small sprinkling of red pepper on top, which gave a little spice to every bite and kept things interesting. Caprese Flatbread Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… If you want a “Wilderness Lodge but make it cozy-and-cocktails” moment. Territory Lounge is a top-tier hideout. It’s rustic, warm, woodsy, and feels like you should be telling ghost stories… except the only haunting is how fast your snack disappears. Disney lists it as open 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM, so it’s a great post-park decompression stop or a pre-dinner “we’re just having one drink” lie. If your crew is adults, this is an easy yes. The menu is built for grazing: a popcorn sampler with multiple flavors (chaotic in the best way), an artisanal cheese and charcuterie board, and flatbreads that can absolutely become “accidental dinner.” Shareable bites are listed as available until 9:30 PM, which is a nice heads-up for late-night snack strategists. If you’re with a mixed group (including older kids/teens), it’s still workable because the food is approachable and the vibe is relaxed. Also: it’s one of those lounges where you can actually hear each other talk, which is rarer at Disney than a quiet stroller. You should skip this Disney World spot if… If you need guaranteed seating at a specific time. Remember: lounges can be a little “may the odds be ever in your favor,” especially in the early evening. It’s also right by Artist Point, and it can pick up overflow traffic when that restaurant is busy. If you’re rolling with very little kids who need fast food and constant movement. This may not be the best fit. It’s more “sip, snack, chill” than “feed the tiny tornadoes and flee.” (For that, Roaring Fork is usually the better call.) If you’re trying to do ultra-budget dining. This is still a lounge with Disney pricing. It’s a good value for the experience, but it’s not a bargain bin, and it’s very easy to go from “one flatbread” to “plus charcuterie because we deserve joy.” In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond. There’s a great big beautiful tomorrow, shining at the end of every day! Carousel of Progress At Disney World, that big beautiful tomorrow involves a new version of the Carousel of Progress in Tomorrowland, and we seriously couldn’t be more excited. With D23: The Ultimate Fan Event just happening, Disney shared tons of updates on the changes, but when we heard this bit of news, we literally gasped out loud because it’s that good. Bob Gurr is working on the newest version of the Carousel of Progress! Yes, you heard that right. One of the original Disney Imagineers, who has worked for Disney since 1954 and was hired by Walt Disney himself, is working on the attraction. D23 Announcement The Carousel of Progress is getting entirely new scenes, starting with the 1960s and then going to the 1980s, 1999, and the possible future. We got a better look at some of the scenes, and everything looks so cool. It’s a great way to keep the spirit of the Carousel of Progress alive in a new way for a wider audience. ©Disney You might remember Rover from the attraction, the family’s friendly dog. Rover was n ot originally involved in the ride until Gurr brought up the idea. He had an old idea of Rover picking a random guest in each scene to growl at and even teased about possibly bringing that back! We would love to see that. Rover With the new changes, they are making everything as accurate as possible, including the furniture from the era. There’s also going to be an introductory scene with Disney World’s first Walt Disney animatronic (they already have one in Disneyland!) that we’re super excited to see. Imagine how Bob Gurr felt working on a project to build a robotic version of his old boss? What a feeling! The announcement at D23 last year! The attraction is already closed at Magic Kingdom for work, but it’s expected to reopen in late spring 2027. We also learned that Bryan Cranston will voice Father and Jamie Lee Curtis will voice Mother. Uh, yeah, that’s AWESOME. Looking great! Surprise, surprise! Even MORE construction has made its way to Disney World, and this time, it’s blocking a form of transportation for TWO hotels! FriendShip Boat at Yacht Club Resort There are several hotels currently undergoing construction, including Animal Kingdom Lodge’s Jambo House, BoardWalk Inn, and Fort Wilderness Campgrounds. And although this project isn’t on the resort itself, it does affect the way guests staying there are getting to the parks. The FriendShip boat dock at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts will be closed for maintenance from Monday, August 17th through Friday, August 21st. During this time, transportation via FriendShip boats will be unavailable. FriendShip Boats Sign These boats offer services to EPCOT, the BoardWalk, the Swan and Dolphin Hotels, and Hollywood Studios. This doesn’t mean there won’t be any way you can get to these places. The Yacht and Beach Club Resorts are within walking distance to EPCOT, just a short 10- to 15-minute walk to EPCOT’s International Gateway entrance. Walking Path If you take a right on the walking path before you get to EPCOT, that will take you to the BoardWalk, which is home to restaurants like The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers and Trattoria al Forno, live entertainment at night, and shopping. Disney’s BoardWalk The same goes with the Swan and Dolphin Hotels, but instead of taking a left toward EPCOT, you would take a right toward those hotels (unless you’re looking for a long walk and want to take the loop around the BoardWalk). Both hotels offer delicious dining options, including Rosa Mexicano, Todd English’s bluezoo, and Il Mulino. The Dolphin Hotel Finally, there are several ways you can get to Hollywood Studios during this closure. Direct bus transportation will be offered during this time at both the Yacht Club and Beach Club bus stops. You also have the option to walk over to the BoardWalk’s FriendShip boat dock and take the boat from there. And there’s also the Disney Skyliner outside of EPCOT’s International Gateway if you’re really not in a rush, which will take you to Disney’s Riviera Resort and Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort; then you will get off there and transfer to the Hollywood Studios’ line. The Skyliner at the International Gateway We never want you to be surprised by any closures on your Disney World vacation, so stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for more Disney news and updates like this! Construction is still all over Disney World, practically everywhere you look, and if there’s one thing we just learned from D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, it’s that it isn’t slowing down anytime soon. Animal Kingdom Lodge However, even before some of those large projects mentioned at the event are set to begin, there are other projects beginning around the Walt Disney World Resort. This is your reminder that, starting today, not one, but TWO big closures hit two different hotels on property. Beginning today, August 17th, there are two massive closures at two Deluxe Disney World hotels you need to know about because they WILL affect your vacation. The first is at Disney’s Yacht Club and Beach Club Resorts — from now through August 21st, 2026, the FriendShip Boat dock will be closed for maintenance. This is the boat that can take you to the other EPCOT area hotels, as well as EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. During the closure, direct bus transportation will be available to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and it’s encouraged that you use the nearby walkways to EPCOT, which can also take you to the Skyliner to get to Hollywood Studios. FriendShip Boat at Yacht Club Resort The larger refurbishment is over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge — Kidani Village. Beginning today, August 17th, the lobby and nearby areas at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge – Kidani Village are now undergoing refurbishment in phases, which are as follows: August 17th through October 9th: The main lobby and primary entrance will be closed. Check-in will move to the Palace Library during this time. August 17th through 28th: The merchandise location, Johari Treasures, will be closed. September 28th through October 9th: The north side lobby corridor will be closed. During this time, the north side lobby elevators on the second floor and the outdoor terrace observation deck will be unavailable. October 26th through November 6th: The south side lobby corridor will be closed. During this time, Community Hall, Safari So Good Arcade, the laundry room, the Palace Library, lobby restrooms, and the outdoor terrace observation deck will be unavailable. Kidani Village at Animal Kingdom Lodge These closures are certainly going to affect your stay at the hotel, especially the closure of the lobby, so be sure to keep these in mind before you travel. Disney has also recently had a habit of extended hotel closures, and we’re really crossing our fingers that doesn’t happen here. More Recent Disney Hotel News! Smugglers Run has gone through quite a few changes recently, with the biggest being adding a new storyline including the Mandalorian and Grogu. Smugglers Gambit During D23: The Ultimate Fan Event, Disney dropped so many announcements that it can be hard to keep track of them all. They snuck in this announcement about changes to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run at Disney World and Disneyland, and we got to check them out for ourselves. You can now link your Disney and Fortnite accounts to accept a special mission in the ride queue. Any guest who is logged in may accept the mission, and you’ll get a chance to unlock an exclusive Forsworn Trooper Outfit in Fortnite. You can also visit Smugglers Gambit Island in Fortnite and receive exclusive Loading Screen rewards. We are eager to see how this works! When we went to Hollywood Studios to try it out, we saw the Fortnite tab pop up in the My Disney Experience app. We were able to accept the mission, link our Disney account in Fortnite settings, and then activate it in the Disney World app. ©Disney The app said, “Once accepted, Hondo will prepare the Millennium Falcon for you. Then go on your smuggling run — and collect crates to earn rewards in Fortnite.” The ride can detect your device and set you up with the Fortnite version of the experience. When you collect crates, you earn Fortnite rewards! Smugglers Run A Cast Member told us that the engineer position will need to collect the rewards and that once you’re activated on your phone, you don’t have to do anything different during the ride. While we weren’t engineers the first time we rode, we still got an email at the end of our ride with Fortnite rewards, so don’t worry if you’re not in that position. ©Disney We didn’t see many changes during the actual ride, so if you’re not a Fortnite fan, the entire ride isn’t decked out with characters and video game icons. There were new Fortnite creatures that the engineers could collect, and a Cast Member told us that as long as there was at least one engineer and they did their tasks, we should have seen them. We didn’t see anything different, but we still got our Fortnite reward points, which is a win for us. Mando and Grogu on Smugglers Run We’ll be keeping an eye out for more changes, but right now, you’ll want to check the app before riding and make sure you’re registered to earn rewards. Deadline has reported that while at D23, they spoke with famous producer Jerry Bruckheimer, who discussed Pirates of the Caribbean 6 sharing, “We’re talking with Johnny, we’re working on a screenplay, and hopefully we can get this done.” ©Disney Which means we are closer to a new Pirates of the Caribbean movie than ever, and it looks like Johnny Depp may be returning to play the iconic Jack Sparrow! But we are just thrilled to know that there is a chance that we can see Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow in the world of Pirates of the Caribbean once again. The first film in the franchise, Pirates of the Caribbean, was released over 20 years ago, in 2003. ©Disney And while the newest film, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man Tell No Tales, may seem recent, it came out almost a decade ago, back in 2017. Over the last several months, Disney has been revealing details about the upcoming Lakeshore Lodge — the brand new resort opening at Disney World next year — including details on its pool and water recreation area, lobby, and dining. Now, they’ve dropped some further… *ahem* explosive information! Happily Ever After Disney has confirmed that a BRAND NEW spot to watch the Magic Kingdom’s iconic nighttime fireworks spectaculars is coming to the new resort! As part of their Letters from Lakeshore blog series, which previews various elements of the resort, Disney announced Dandelion Terrace. According to the company, the lounge will be a place where guests can gather “after the sun sets… to see Magic Kingdom Park fireworks lighting up the sky over the waters of Bay Lake”, with “soft lighting and sweeping views” setting the mood for the show. Dandelion Terrace ©Disney Furthermore, the two-story lounge will also serve as a gallery of archival artwork from Disney classics like Fantasia and feature themed, whimsical dandelion light fixtures that add a touch of magic to the space. The Dandelion Lounge will join the litany of spaces to watch the Magic Kingdom’s nighttime fireworks spectaculars like Happily Ever After at hotels near the Magic Kingdom. These include the California Grill observation deck at the Contemporary Resort, the beaches at the Grand Floridian and the Polynesian. Fireworks deck at California Grill The lounge will likely be most directly compared to the Bamboo Terrace and Wave Break Terrace, both located at the Polynesian’s Island Tower, which opened in late 2024. Wave Break Terrace However, there will be one major difference between the Lakeshore Lodge’s new lounge and all these spaces. Namely, the new Dandelion Lounge will provide views of the fireworks over Bay Lake, whereas all of the hotels on the Monorail Loop — the aforementioned Grand Floridian, Polynesian Village, and Contemporary resorts — surround the Seven Seas Lagoon. In other words, a completely different perspective. ©@bioreconstruct The Dandelion Lounge, along with the rest of the Lakeshore Lodge, which will be “inspired by the majesty of nature and its enduring influence on Disney artists,” is scheduled to open in the summer of 2027. Stay tuned to DFB for further updates on the upcoming resort! This New Disney World Ride Will Run In The RAIN!
Disney4me posted a topic in Disney Food/Restaurants
D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event was this past weekend, and we got SO many new announcements and updates about Piston Peak coming to Magic Kingdom. Welcome to Piston Peak! There was a to-scale model of the entire land that gave us so many details about what this new experience will hold. We also got lots of info about the two attractions coming to the land, including that one of the rides is being designed to run in the rain! Disney confirmed both attractions coming to Piston Peak, including their names and several details. First up is a family-friendly ride, Miss Fritter’s Daredevil Spin-Along. In this ride, you’ll enter into a demolition derby with a high school-sized bus animatronic of Miss Fritter from Cars 3. Miss Fritter’s Daredevil Spin-Along ©Disney The second ride will be Cars Ridge Run Rally, where guests will be participating in a race through the wilderness. This ride will take you throughout Piston Peak National Park, where you’ll see the snow-covered mountain peak, a geyser field, and more! ©Disney This ride promises to be a great racing adventure through this new land, and Disney also confirmed that it is being designed to operate even in the rain! During a D23 Panel, Imagineers confirmed that this ride is being built to withstand rain more than other attractions. ©Disney This attraction will obviously still be unavailable during lightning, storms, or other severe weather; however, given the complexities of the ride, they are ensuring it can operate well even in rain. Peep the Geyser! Piston Peak Model at D23 2026 We will continue to bring you all the Piston Peak and Disney World expansion news, so stay tuned to Disney Food Blog to never miss anything! While the 2026 V.I.Passholder Summer Days have officially ended, Disney World still has SO many perks for its Annual Passholders, and a few more just arrived! Disney World Annual Pass Annual Passholders will have until September 24th to grab a new Annual Passholder Magnet, a new PhotoPass Magic Shot, and a new treat in Hollywood Studios! We have everything you need to know about where to find them and how to grab them! The Muppets are officially taking over Hollywood Studios AGAIN because the newest theme for the Annual Passholder Magnet and other offerings is Kermit the Frog! Annual Passholder Magnet This may be the cutest Annual Passholder Magnet yet (and some of our team members definitely agree!) The magnet features Kermit the Frog with his banjo lying on the curve of the Disney “D,” which is a bright peach/salmon colored background. This magnet will be available from park opening to close in the Mickey Shorts Theatre but is only available while supplies last. To get the magnet, all you have to do is show your Annual Pass and a form of identification. Kermit Annual Passholder Magnet PhotoPass Magic Shots Also available is a Magic Shot photo. This photo has you hold a banjo prop, and when your picture comes through, Kermit will be by your side playing the banjo with you! This photo is available near the end of Hollywood Boulevard from 10 AM to 4 PM daily. ©Disney It’s important to note that this photo (along with other Magic Shot photos) may not show up in your My Disney Experience app right away — these can take up to 48 hours to appear. A New Treat! Available at Dockside Diner is the Key Lime Kermit Milkshake! This is made with vanilla ice cream, key lime cake crumbs, key lime sauce, and sprinkles! We did have to stir in the key lime sauce, so it was a bit hard to get that flavor — all we really tasted was a vanilla milkshake with a hint of lime. While we were hoping for more of a lime custard-like shake, we enjoyed the cake crumbs mixed in and found it to be very refreshing. Key Lime Kermit Milkshake These perks won’t stick around for too long, so be sure to head over to Hollywood Studios by September 24th to get them! It may be the end of summer for a lot of families as kids go back to school, but the summer heat in Orlando isn’t going anywhere just yet. A sunny day in Animal Kingdom If you’re visiting Disney World this week, it’s important to know that there’s another heat advisory in effect due to the excessively high temperatures. If you’re not staying hydrated and eating enough, or are exposing yourself to too much sun, this can quickly become dangerous, so there’s a real reason to be on high alert. According to FOX 35 Orlando, a heat advisory is in effect for Orlando and surrounding areas today. The advisory is in effect from 10 AM to 8 PM (basically a whole park day), and while the actual temperature will be around the mid-to-upper 90s, the real feel will be around 108-112 degrees Fahrenheit. The hottest times will be around 2 PM to 5 PM, so that would be a great time to take a break inside back at your hotel, hang out at the pool, or just take a break indoors in the parks. ©FOX35 If you’re visiting later this week, unfortunately, you’re also looking at high temperatures, and there’s no real break from the heat coming this week. Central Florida will stay in the 90s throughout the week and is under a moderate or major heat risk all week. It’s also important to watch for signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke in yourself and the others around you. Both of these can very quickly ruin a Disney World day, so do all you can to stay ahead of the danger by taking those breaks inside, standing in the shade when you can, drinking plenty of water AND electrolytes, and making sure you’re eating throughout the day. ©FOX35 When it comes to rain, there is a high chance of rain all week, starting at a 30% chance today, jumping to 60% between Tuesday and Thursday, and slightly dropping to 50% on Friday. A lot of these storms will take place in the afternoon and evenings, so for Disney World trips, that means we recommend riding those outdoor attractions in the morning. ©FOX35 Even if you’re someone who’s normally outside and deals with the heat, this level of intensity can (and will) sneak up on anyone who isn’t being proactive and doing what they can to protect themselves. Don’t make that mistake! Drink more water and electrolytes than you feel you need to, and listen to your body when you need to take a break — it makes all the difference. Be sure to stay tuned to DFB for all the latest Disney news to help you prepare for your upcoming trip. ABC News has confirmed that Hayden Panettiere has died at 36 years old. ©ABC The actress was known for projects like Heroes and Nashville. Panettiere died in South Carolina, and the investigation into her death is still “ongoing,” according to her representative. We’re live from D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, and while it may be the last day, there’s still SO much happening you need to know about. Disney Legends Ceremony! The big event that ends the three-day event is the Disney Legends ceremony, where numerous stars will officially be inducted as Disney Legends — one of the highest honors in regards to the Walt Disney Company! This year, eleven different people are being awarded Legend status, and we’re here IN PERSON to bring you all the news from this heartwarming ceremony. We started out the ceremony very strong, with a tribute to Lin-Manuel Miranda’s music! It was performed by Auli’i Cravalho, Jordan Fisher, and more. Lin certainly got emotional seeing it performed, and we totally get it, because we teared up too! In his speech afterwards, he rewrote the lyrics of “Part of Your World” and sang it out of a Disney VHS notebook, which was very sweet. Lin-Manuel Miranda Auli’i Cravalho was the one to introduce Lin-Manuel Miranda, Ginnifer Goodwin introduced Alan Tudyk, Ming Na Wen introduced Kim Irvine, and Vanessa Hudgens introduced The Jonas Brothers, who made a fun comment on being totally loyal to the Mouse, following it up by saying they hope Bob Iger keeps that in mind when doing his estate planning. We’re at the Legends Ceremony! We also got to see the popular group KATSEYE perform “I Won’t Say I’m In Love” for none other than Susan Egan! She was first introduced by four Belles from Beauty and the Beast, and then KATSEYE followed. ©Susan Egan on Instagram We then got to see Steve Young introduce Chris Berman, and none other than Orlando Bloom introduce Jerry Bruckheimer! Yes, William Turner was at the D23 Legends Ceremony, and YES, we’re freaking out. ©Disney Then, Jared Bush came out to introduce Eric Goldberg, along with a marching band that played “You’ve Never Had A Friend Like Me,” complete with costumed dancers dressed as Genie, Jiminy, Meeko, and Louis. Hey, Genie! Then, it was time for David Frankel to introduce Anne Hathaway, and Anna Wintour did a video for Anne Hathaway’s accolades to help introduce her. In her speech, Anne took a moment to thank the Cast Members who make magic in the parks every day, and we couldn’t agree more! ©Disney Emily Blunt was next, and she introduced Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and told a funny story about trying to keep up with him drinking tequila. Dwayne also then had the audience sing Happy Birthday to his oldest child, which we thought was so sweet! Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson Then, Josh D’Amaro came out to introduce Bob Iger! The full list of Disney stars being inducted today is: Chris Berman: Longtime ESPN personality well known for hosting NFL Primetime and bestowing alliterative nicknames on athletes. Jerry Bruckheimer: Legendary Hollywood producer well known for countless hit films, including the Pirates of the Caribbean and National Treasure franchises. Anne Hathaway: Academy Award-winning actress known for numerous memorable roles, including in The Princess Diaries franchise for Disney. Kim Irvine: Longtime Disney Imagineer known for work on Disneyland attractions, including The Haunted Mansion. Irvine is the daughter of Imagineers Harvey and Leota Toombs, both of whom were also longtime Disney Imagineers. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson: Professional wrestling superstar-turned Hollywood star, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is one of the most recognizable faces in the world and has become a Disney mainstay thanks to his portrayal of Maui in Moana, Moana 2, and the upcoming live-action adaptation. The Jonas Brothers: Music megastars that have been associated with Disney for nearly the entirety of their two-decade career, including starring in the Camp Rock films and the Disney Channel series Jonas. Lin-Manuel Miranda: Well-known for the Broadway musicals such as In the Heights and Hamilton, Miranda’s work for Disney includes the music for the animated films Moana, Vivo, and Encanto. Alan Tudyk: Longtime character actor Alan Tudyk has built a long career in Hollywood, including appearing in every Disney animated film since 2012. Tudyk also played the droid K-2SO in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Andor, and provided the voice of the parrot, Iago, in the 2019 live-action adaptation of Aladdin. Bob Iger: After joining the company as part of the ABC acquisition in 1996 (he was chief operating officer (COO) of Capital Cities/ABC at the time), Iger rose through the ranks quickly. He was named president of Disney in 2000 and succeeded Michael Eisner as CEO in 2005. During his initial tenure, Iger spearheaded the acquisitions of LucasFilm, Marvel, and 20th Century Fox. Iger first stepped down from the role in 2020, passing on the CEO title to Bob Chapek. He then was Executive Chairman until his formal retirement from the company on December 31, 2021. However, as controversy surrounding Chapek’s tenure continued to grow, Iger made a shocking return to the company and its CEO position on November 20th, 2022. Iger held the post until March 17th, 2026, when he passed the CEO title to Josh D’Amaro. We’ll be sure to keep you updated as the ceremony continues, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB!
