There is a LOT happening in Disney’s Hollywood Studios right now. So Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets finally opened in May, and we’re still LOVING the new attraction. Monstropolis is currently being built where Muppets Courtyard used to be and will have a phased opening starting in 2027. New attraction and park map! But a lot just changed TODAY in Hollywood Studios, too, so we’re going to give a full rundown of all the changes so you don’t miss anything. The Magic of Disney Animation Although The Magic of Disney Animation at The Walt Disney Studios soft-opened a few days ago, the new attraction has officially opened as of today. The building itself was inspired by the actual Disney animation studio in Burbank (complete with the Mickey Sorcerer’s hat) and houses multiple attractions in one. For starters, you can learn to draw iconic Disney characters from Olaf and a video of a Disney animator in Olaf Draws. Olaf Draws! You can also meet Disney characters in “Off The Page” as they greet guests in six departments in the building, themed to departments you’d find at Disney’s REAL animation studios. It’s Mulan! The new space also features an indoor playground (yes, an indoor AIR-CONDITIONED playground) for kids called Drawn To Wonderland. It’s based on Mary Blair’s concept art for Alice in Wonderland. Drawn to Wonderland You can also enjoy some time in an air-conditioned theater space to watch Disney’s Emmy Award-winning short, Once Upon A Studio, in the Once Upon A Studio Theater. Once Upon a Studio The space also features a lot of interactive experiences, hidden details, Easter eggs, and surprises. Note that Disney has said it will use a virtual queue if things get too crowded at The Magic of Disney Animation, so you might want to keep that in mind when you visit. 4 New Attractions Open in Disney’s Hollywood Studios New Map With a new attraction open comes a new park map! Yep, a new map came to Hollywood Studios today, and the front showcases the new The Magic of Disney Animation building. New park map! Inside, you’ll see The Magic of Disney Animation showcased, along with the new Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! show and the new The Mandalorian and Grogu version of Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. Featuring The Magic of Disney Animation The map itself now features The Magic of Disney Animation. It’s on the map! So if you’re the type to collect park maps, head on over to Hollywood Studios now! There’s a NEW Park Map in EPCOT and It Features a HUGE Change Baymax Sipper But more has come to Hollywood Studios today, too, including a brand new Baymax Sipper. Yes, there’s finally something in Disney World for Big Hero 6 fans. The new sipper is Baymax on his charging pad, and it comes with a new drink called Ani-Made, which is Minute Maid premium lemonade with DOLE Whip pineapple juice and watermelon syrup. New Baymax Sipper! This seems to be the same sipper we spotted in Disney California Adventure in 2023. You’ll find him in Disney World at the snack cart near The Walt Disney Studios. Disney Is About to Level Up the Snack Carts Monstropolis Updates But…wait, there’s more! We also spotted some construction updates over at the Monstropolis site. From what we can tell, some scalloping seems to be getting added to this building. Details being added We’re so excited to see all these little details come to life to create this city we’ve only ever seen in movies. Rides, Restaurants, and More CONFIRMED for Monsters, Inc. Land in Disney World So, yes, a lot of exciting things are happening in Hollywood Studios now, and we’ll be keeping you updated on more changes in Disney World, so stay tuned to DFB for more. 4 Changes Coming to EPCOT Next Month Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! We love crazy fancy meals that completely blow our minds, but we are also simple people who love plastic cheese, gas station food, and anything Mickey-shaped, no matter what it is. What can we say? We’re Disney Food Blog, but that includes ALL food. Grilled Cheese time! We’re heading to El Mercado de Coronado at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort to try two new grilled cheese sandwiches to see if it’s worth a visit during your trip. First up, we tried the Raspberry & Brie Grilled Cheese for $18.50. It’s served with creamy brie and sweet raspberry preserves, grilled until golden, and served with a 6oz soup; we chose the Red Pepper Gouda Bisque. Raspberry & Brie Before we ordered, Cast Members told us how amazing it is and how thrilled they were to have it on the menu, which is always a good sign. There was a good amount of raspberry preserves, and we wish there had been a smidge less so the brie could shine. It mostly tasted like raspberry toast with a bit of cheesiness. The bread is a multigrain with a seeded texture, which can be great for those who like a little texture. It’s a sweeter take on grilled cheese, so if you’re in the mood for hardcore savory, you’ll want to opt for another sandwich. We think Remy will love this with his fruit and cheese combinations! A good choice! The Red Pepper Gouda Bisque wasn’t as flavorful as a traditional tomato soup; the main flavor was red pepper, and we think it could have had a bit more seasoning. We dipped our sandwich into the soup, which helped bring out more of that creamy flavor and texture. Soup time! We also got the Tomato & Bacon Grilled Cheese for $19.50, with crispy bacon, tomato, cheddar, provolone, and yellow American cheese, all grilled until golden. It also comes with a soup, and we chose the classic Tomato Soup. Tomato and Bacon This grilled cheese was super savory, with plenty of melted cheese and an acidic tomato flavor. We loved the bacon’s meatiness too, but we wish it was a little crisper. This was a classic take on grilled cheese with a slight upgrade from the tomato and bacon, so it’s great for those who want something they know they’ll enjoy but a little more elevated. Tomato and Bacon The soup had a great acidic flavor with a very faint heat in the back. A bit of parmesan on top added more cheesiness, and it was well seasoned. Dipping the sandwich in the soup was a perfect combo, and anyone who loves the classics will want to go with this one. Tomato Soup Both grilled cheese sandwiches were pretty expensive for soup and a sandwich, but we do think it was a solid-sized sandwich that you could even share if you’re looking for a smaller option. When you’ve had enough wild Disney food and you’re looking for something comforting after a long day in the parks, this might just do the trick. We probably won’t go out of our way to visit Coronado Springs Resort, but if you’re already staying there, it is a great choice. We’re big grilled cheese fans In the meantime, make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for all the food reviews you need to know when planning the best Disney World vacation ever. It’s been a… tumultuous few years for fans of Southwest, as the well-known airline has put a fair share of controversial changes into effect. Southwest Airlines However, a recent announcement from the airline brings major good news for frequent Southwest flyers: NEW Lounges are coming! Southwest Airlines recently announced that they’re teaming up with Chase and introducing a new Airport Lounge Network that will introduce “new spaces where travelers can recharge, reconnect, and relax before their flight.” Access to the new lounges will be available to those who sign up for a new, premium Southwest Rapid Rewards Credit Card issued by Chase, which will be launching in 2027. The first lounges will be opening at the following airports in late 2027, with plans for seven more over the next few years. Austin (AUS) Baltimore (BWI) Honolulu (HNL) Nashville (BNA) According to the airline, these new spaces will offer “a dedicated place to spend time before your flight. We’re creating something uniquely Southwest, combining inspiration from the communities we serve with the success of the Chase Sapphire Reserve Lounge NetworkSM. Each lounge will combine the warmth and friendliness you expect from Southwest with sophisticated design, locally-inspired dining, and high-quality amenities offered in the Chase Sapphire Reserve Lounge Network today.” Southwest Airlines at John Wayne International Airport As mentioned above, the announcement of the lounges comes at a hectic time for Southwest, as the airline has enacted several changes over the years. After not using assigned seats for the entirety of its existence, Southwest changed its traditional policy as of January 27th, 2026. Fares include new seat options to choose from: Extra Legroom Seats, which provide a “roomier experience with more legroom to stretch out, at the front of the cabin and near the exit rows, with up to five additional inches* of extra legroom compared to Standard and Preferred seats. Plus, earlier access to bin space, enhanced snacks, and complimentary premium beverages.” Preferred Seats, which offer “standard legroom seats near the front of the cabin.” Standard Seats, which offer “standard legroom seats located in the back of the cabin.” At the time of the announcement, Southwest said of the changes, “For your comfort, we’re introducing seat options that allow you to choose the experience you prefer. This includes options to select where you want to sit and upgrade to an Extra Legroom seat, giving you more choices when you travel with us. Learn more about all the new options ahead, including our new cabin design, new fare bundles, plus Tier and Cardmember perks to match.” ©Southwest Airlines In conjunction with the new seating rules, Southwest also altered its “Customer of Size” policy. Previously, the airline allowed customers to buy a single seat and discuss their seating needs with a gate agent ahead of departure. If it was determined that a second or third seat was needed, the airline would accommodate them with a complimentary additional seat the day of travel. ©Southwest Airlines However, as of January 27th, 2026, Southwest altered the policy to say that, “Customers who encroach upon the neighboring seat(s) should proactively purchase the needed number of seats before travel to ensure the additional seat is available,” adding that it will refund the extra seat purchase if requested when travel is complete. According to the airline, if the flight is sold out or adjacent seats aren’t available, they will rebook you on an alternate flight. They also suggest buying a second seat when you make your reservation so you don’t have to take a different flight. Southwest plane at Long Beach Airport The airline also altered its boarding process with the introduction of assigned seating. The previous A/B/C groups with numbered positions transitioned to a new boarding structure using numbered groups ranging from 1 through 8. Southwest Airlines gate at Harry Reid International Airport In 2025, Southwest also ended its longtime “Bags Fly for Free Policy”, and the airline is now charging for checked bags on Basic, Choice, and Choice Preferred fares. However, there are some exceptions: Rapid Rewards A-List Preferred Members and Getaways by Southwest customers will receive two free checked bags. A-List Members and Rapid Rewards Credit Card members will receive only their first checked bag for free. Hawaii residents traveling between the islands will continue to receive two free checked bags. ©Southwest Airlines Southwest Airlines and Chase are teaming up to introduce a new series of airport lounges in 2027. A MAJOR Disney World App Change Starts This Week
Disney4me posted a topic in Disney Food/Restaurants
Over the last decade, Walt Disney World apps have become an integral part of the Disney theme park experience, with everything from tickets and hotel entry to shopping, dining, Lightning Lanes, showtimes, and Mobile Order to merchandise checkout, dining reservations, and walk-up waitlists all running through the app. However, as is prone to happen with technology, things are evolving. ©Disney In fact, we’re just days from a MASSIVE Disney app change that would have felt unimaginable back in 2019. The Play Disney Parks app will be retired on September 16th! Beginning on that date, users will no longer be able to log in, and the app will be removed from both the Apple and Google Play app stores. First introduced in 2018, the app was created by Disney in response to the rise of mobile gaming, giving the company its OWN game-related app to encourage guests to play in queues. In addition, Disney would tie the app into real-world physical experiences at the parks. This app was home to a variety of games and features that can be used depending on your location on Disney World or Disneyland Resort property, including an option to play some games at home. @Disney The DuckTales World Showcase Adventure in EPCOT also used the Play Disney Parks app to take guests on guided scavenger hunts through a few different World Showcase countries, and it includes many interactive in-park elements. It’s unclear what the exact future of the experience will be, as Disney currently lists it as “currently under refurbishment and may be available in a limited format.” ©Disney Further games that will be lost when the app shuts down include Off to Never Land in the Peter Pan’s Flight queue, Playset Party in the Toy Story Mania! queue, Rocket Race in the Space Mountain line, Soarin’ Challenge at Soarin’ Around The World, and even general park trivia you can play at home. ©Disney However, the biggest ramifications of the app closing will hit a galaxy far, far away. The app was a major part – – and a heavily pushed element – – of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge when those Disneyland and Hollywood Studios lands opened back in 2019. When it comes to the Batuu Bounty Hunters game, the in-park screen elements around Galaxy’s Edge will still be accessible with the use of MagicBand+, but the Play Disney Parks element of the scavenger hunt will be removed. ©Disney In addition, the popular Star Wars: Datapad feature that’s available in Play Disney Parks will retire with the app. Star Wars: Datapad Disney’s app ecosystem is going to change massively on September 16th, when the Play Disney Parks app is set to shut down for good. Stay tuned to DFB for more on Disney’s changes. 4 Changes Coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios Next Month Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! Celebrities, they’re just like us! Even stars can’t get enough of the Most Magical Place on Earth… and can you really blame them? Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance We’ve spotted a ton of celebrities at Disney World and Disneyland, and every once in a while, they’ll share a bit about their trips themselves. Of course, it’s even funnier when the celebrity happens to be in a Disney movie — and even better when they’re featured in an actual Disney ride. A Star Wars baddie recently shared his experience riding Rise of the Resistance at Hollywood Studios, and we would have loved to see this happen in person! You might recognize Irish actor Domhnall Gleeson from his role as Bill Weasley in the Harry Potter franchise, but Star Wars fans will know him as General Armitage Hux from the most recent films. As Kylo Ren’s right-hand man, he’s certainly not a hero of the franchise, but he’s heavily featured in Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at both Disney World and Disneyland. Well, Gleeson recently took a trip to Hollywood Studios and snuck onto the ride, and he wasn’t expecting the greeting he got! Kylo and Hux in Rise of the Resistance In an interview with Jimmy Fallon, Gleeson said that he was able to sneak onto the ride, and when he did so, Disney had stationed real Stormtroopers along the ride, in addition to the static robots from the “Stormtrooper room,” as it’s called. One of the Stormtroopers spotted him and came over and said, “It’s good to see you undercover, General.” Gleeson said that they stayed in character, and when he was leaving the ride, the Stormtroopers and First Order officers saluted him! We would have loved to have seen this go down in person, honestly. Rise of the Resistance While live Stormtroopers aren’t always part of Rise of the Resistance, Disney does occasionally station them throughout the ride to add to the overall immersion of things. You can always expect the First Order officers to stay in character, though, even sometimes messing with riders and referring to them as “rebel scum,” much like General Hux does in the movies and ride. Check out Domhnall Gleeson’s interview with Jimmy Fallon below: We’ll be on the lookout for even more celebrity sightings and stories from the Disney parks. A new travel advisory has been issued for Peru. ©Adventures by Disney The travel advisory for Americans is a level 2, which means “exercise increased caution.” These advisories are typically issued when there are warnings about events in countries that travelers need to be aware of. This advisory says to “exercise increased caution in Peru due to risk of crime, unrest, kidnapping, and terrorism.” There are certain areas that they are advising to avoid altogether, including: The Colombia-Peru border area in the Loreto Region due to crime The Valley of the Apurímac, Ene, and Mantaro Rivers (VRAEM), which includes Vilcabamba, due to crime and threats of terrorism Abancay, Ayacucho, Huancavelica, and Huancayo within the regions of Ayacucho, Cusco, Huancavelica, and Junín, due to crime and threats of terrorism ©US Embassy The advisory also notes that the City of Cusco and popular tourist sites nearby, like the Sacred Valley, the Inca Trail, and Machu Picchu, are not in the affected area. ©Adventures by Disney For crime, the advisory notes that petty theft, carjackings, muggings, assaults, and other violent crime often happen in daylight hours with witnesses around, and although rare, “express kidnappings” where the victim is taken to a banking institution and forced to remove funds from their own accounts, may occur. The risk increases at night. ©Adventures by Disney Unrest is currently higher due to public demonstrations over political or economic issues. This can shut down roads, trains, and major highways, often without warning or clear information about reopening. Road closures can also limit access to public transportation and airports. ©Adventures by Disney If you are traveling to Peru, we recommend enrolling in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to receive alerts from the U.S. embassy or consulate. Enrolling helps the U.S. embassy or consulate contact you or your emergency contact if needed. It’s also recommended to stay alert and aware of your surroundings. A major new menu addition at EPCOT is changing how we approach drinking around the world! Who’s ready? One of the world’s most exclusive alcohols, which used to be quite hard to find in the United States, is now available in the World Showcase! Italy’s Tutto Gusto is already one of our favorite spots in World Showcase, and now they have a Sarti Spritz! The $18 drink is made with Sarti Rosa Aperitivo, Prosecco, and sparkling water. A delicious option! Why is this a big deal? Because Sarti Rosa – – a fruit-forward Italian aperitif known for its striking pink color and citrus-tropical flavor – – has previously been tough to track down in the U.S. That scarcity, plus its brunch-friendly presentation and cocktail-friendly flavor profile, has led it to become a viral trend and, in turn, an aspirational cocktail for many. Sarti Spritz So, that out of the way, how was the Sarti Spritz? It’s really enjoyable, especially for those who don’t particularly enjoy the taste of alcohol and prefer their drinks nice and fruity (GUILTY). Flavor-wise, it was dominated by blood orange, mango, and passionfruit flavors. Meanwhile, the prosecco and sparkling water did give it a fizzy texture, but it wasn’t overly bubbly to the point of being overboard. A word of warning, though: The combination of the fruity/citrus-flavor and the lack of strong taste of alcohol makes the drink very easy to drink, so be careful, as it may be a bit easy to over-imbibe. 6 NEW Unspoken Rules for Drinking Around the World at EPCOT Of course, if you drink, you’ll need to eat! Our Guide to Disney World Dining pulls it all together so you can stop stressing and focus on the fun without feeling like you’re missing a thing! Tutto Gusto A Sarti Spritz – – made with the viral Sarti Rosa Italian aperitif – – has arrived at Tutti Gusto at EPCOT. Stay tuned to DFB for more on the latest offerings coming to Walt Disney World. If you’re visiting Disneyland and happen to be a massive Pixar fan, you may choose to stay at Pixar Place Hotel, which is…as you may have guessed from the name…dedicated to all things Pixar. You can even see the gigantic Pixar lamp and ball in the hotel lobby, as well as meet some rare Pixar characters like Joe from Soul and Bing Bong from Inside Out. Pixar Place Hotel Well, four things have been closed for a little while at this hotel, but we’ve got great news: all four closures are ending this month. On September 8th, the Pixel Pool and the Paradise Spa at Pixar Place Hotel both closed for refurbishment. However, both are scheduled to reopen on September 19th. This is good news if you’ll be on vacation at the hotel and want to use the pool or take a break in the hotel’s spa. Pixar Place Hotel pool The Crush Surfin’ Slide and splash pad at Nemo’s Cove also closed on September 8th, but you’ll be able to visit both soon, on September 25th. Now that we are well into September, it’s officially Halloween in my mind! We’ve already been summoning some spellbinding seasonal merchandise selections here on Disney Parks Blog, and these next collections will have you feeling even more ready to embrace the thrills and chills. Crowned Athletics is known for its colorful, high-performance activewear, with designs driven by something that brings us all joy: fandom. We’ve seen Star Wars, Pixar, and Disney Princess-themed collections in the past, all meant to blend fashion and function while keeping up with busy park adventures, everyday errands, runDisney races, and everything in between. Their pieces often feature allover patterns and prints with subtle symbols that serve as nods to your favorite stories and characters, bringing magic to movement. And today, they’re giving us a first look at two brand new collections coming soon in celebration of spooky season. The Crowned Athletics Halloween collections highlight two beloved stories, Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas and Disney’s 101 Dalmatians. With leggings, tank tops, athletic skorts, accessories, and more items inspired by Halloween icons Jack Skellington and Sally or the fearsome fiend Cruella de Vil, there’s something for every guy and ghoul to shop for. Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Collection Launching September 17 on CrownedAthletics.com, the Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Collection will have you feeling like an honorary citizen of Halloween Town. Maybe you want to embrace the energy of the Pumpkin King, or perhaps you feel more aligned with Sally’s spirit? Either way, the collection has been carefully conjured up for the dedicated fans of this classic film! The Jack Skellington-inspired pieces in this assortment are truly the pick of the patch! If you’re heading to the gym or looking for your new favorite loungewear, pair the Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Jack Skellington Women’s Leggings with the Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Jack Skellington Women’s Sports Bra. The top has bat-shaped crossover detailing and a double layered design, pairing perfectly with the pants. Another can’t-miss matching ensemble is the Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Jack Skellington Women’s Athletic Skort and Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Jack Skellington Women’s Power Tank. The flexible fabric helps you move fearlessly throughout the day, and the embroidered icon on the top adds extra eerie elegance. A piece that stood out to me right away was the Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Jack Skellington Unisex Collared Tee. This design combines the frightful foil print we’ve seen on the other items with a breathable collared fit and subtle Jack Skellington decal. And of course, no collection is complete without accessories. The Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Zero Pet Bandana will have your furry friends feeling like Jack’s loyal pal Zero. It’s available in small and large sizes, so you can even match your pet by tying it in your hair or around your neck. If that’s not your style, top off your look with the Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Zero Athletic Cap, featuring an embroidered Zero floating alongside his doghouse, bats, and stars. And don’t worry, the team at Crowned Athletics hasn’t forgotten about sweet Sally. You can concoct an entire style creation by combining the Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Sally Women’s Sports Bra, Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Sally Women’s Leggings, and Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Sally Women’s Flow Tank. In addition to the classic Sally color scheme, I appreciate the small details like the stitched-together snippets. If one half of your duo wants to don the Jack Skellington set, you can match with the Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Sally Women’s Athletic Skort and Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Sally Women’s Power Tank. The vibrant foil print has a patchwork feel to it, helping you look fashion-forward while still feeling comfortable. Still feel like your ‘fit needs some more flair? The Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Sally Women’s Mesh Shrug is a piece I have my eye on, with a sheer lightweight layer covered in stitch-inspired sleeve accents. Another adorable accent is the Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Zero Hair Bow, great for matching with the bandana! Cruella de Vil Collection For the fans who love Disney Villains, Crowned Athletics has created something devilishly darling for you, too! The Cruella de Vil collection, launching September 22 on CrownedAthletics.com, is inspired by one of the most unforgettable fashion icons from Disney animated films. Her classic color palette of black, white, and red combined with striking silhouettes and that dashing Dalmatian pattern is perfect for those who want to stand out in style rather than blending in with the pack. Your style will be spot-on with the Disney Villain Cruella de Vil Women’s Sports Bra and Disney Villain Cruella de Vil Women’s Leggings. The coordinated look captures the devilish diva’s essence, with a shimmering print sure to steal the show, striking color blocking, and sculpted seams. Prefer a stylish skort? Pair the Disney Villain Cruella de Vil Women’s Athletic Skort with the Disney Villain Cruella de Vil Women’s Power Tank – it’s equal parts sporty and sophisticated for those who love to make a statement. One of my favorite finds from this collection is the Disney Villain Cruella de Vil Women’s Flow Tank, because I love a fun pattern and bold pop of red. The printed mesh is a paw-sitively perfect party in the back, making this piece even more breathable and lightweight for those extra warm days. Something I appreciate about Crowned Athletics is their thoughtful design and attention to detail. You’ll see that many items have hidden pockets, so you can subtly tuck away phones, keys, and cards to keep your essentials close and secure. It makes these pieces even more practical – who even needs a purse or fanny pack? Cruella’s collection has lots of accessories too, like the Disney Villain Cruella de Vil Hair Bow and Disney Villain Cruella de Vil Pet Bandana. How perfect is that product for your pooch (although maybe keep them away from any fur-coat-wearing fashionistas). You can also grab another one of those Disney Villain Cruella de Vil Women’s Mesh Shrugs, which I’m obsessed with. At Crowned Athletics, fashion and fandom go hand-in-hand, and these collections will have you channeling a villainous visionary or Halloween Town trendsetter this spooky season. The day is HERE! A whole new area has opened in Hollywood Studios, and we may or may not be able to stop talking about it. It truly is that magical. Walt Disney Studios — Animation Building Walt Disney Studios has been a fantastic addition to the park, with a courtyard full of fun animal statues, handprints of famous Disney characters, and walk-around characters enjoying the Florida weather. The indoor section, The Magic of Disney Animation, has officially opened to the public! Everyone, say hello to The Magic of Disney Animation! The characters are hosting an Open House and inviting you to come and check it out. The Magic of Disney Animation It looks like all the characters came out to play before the park officially opened this morning! There are so many friendsa nd it all looks like the short the land was based on, Once Upon a Studio. ©Disney The main attraction, and what we think will be the most popular, is Olaf Draws! Olaf Draws There’s also a huge meet-and-greet section, Off the Page, where you can meet Mulan, Rapunzel, Chip ‘n’ Dale, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy, and Stitch. Now that’s a lineup! It’s Mulan! They all have different backgrounds that will look perfect in photos. Stitch You can also check out the Drawn to Wonderland Playground, which is themed after Mary Blair’s original concept art for Alice in Wonderland. We spent a little too much time on the slide… The Tugley Woods at Drawn to Wonderland …and a whole tea party section. The Mad Tea Party at Drawn to Wonderland You can also watch Once Upon a Studio in a theater. It’s a great way to keep your feet up for a bit and enjoy the air conditioning. Once Upon a Studio The space is currently open from 9 AM to 9 PM, with Olaf Draws! ending at 8:30 PM and Off the Page, with the characters ending at 6:30 PM, so you’ll want to plan your day accordingly. When you think of Disney, what comes to mind? The castle? The resorts? Space Mountain? The princesses? The list could go on and on… There are so many icons, but do you really know the story behind them? ©D23 We recently put a poll up on our Instagram stories and asked you if you knew the story behind one of Disneyland’s famous park icons, and 60% of you didn’t! So, let’s dive into the secret behind Snow White Grotto in Disneyland! Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was the film that really paved the way for the future of Disney films, as it was the first full-length animated feature film — it was a groundbreaking moment for the company. Rightfully so, it deserved a spot in Walt Disney’s debut park — Disneyland Park in California. Snow White Grotto is located on the hillside near Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland, and we’re here to talk about the story of this iconic spot. ©D23 In 1961 — six years after Disneyland opened — Walt Disney received a gift from an anonymous fan sent from Italy with no return address. The gift arrived at the Disney Studios in eight wooden crates, and inside were beautifully detailed statues of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, all carved out of pure-white Carrara marble. ©D23 The only problem with these figures was that Snow White was the same size as the dwarfs! Nonetheless, Walt Disney still wanted to display them somewhere in Disneyland, so he assigned the project to one of his most trusted and respected designers, John Hench. Hench knew there would be a design problem since all of the figures were the same size, but Walt simply told him to “figure it out.” ©D23 Hench went into some brainstorming, and he figured out that if he could stage the statues vertically and arrange them on a slope with Snow White on top, then he could solve the scale problem by using forced perspective, and that’s exactly what he did. The next step? Finding a place to put it. He found a landscaped hillside right next to Sleeping Beauty Castle that would work. He would place Snow White and an undersized deer sculpture at the top of the hill and put the dwarfs more toward the bottom. ©D23 Hench designed a waterfall that began at Snow White’s feet to be small at the top and grow wider as it descended the hill. He explained that the water increased the volume of flow the way down to create that forced-perspective effect. Overall, Walt loved this idea with the exception of one thing: People would be inclined to throw money into the waterfall. The solution? Build a wishing well next to the attraction! ©D23 Proceeds from the wishing well are donated to local children’s charities, like Make-A-Wish and Give Kids The World. The spot remains a popular photo spot, especially great for proposals, family photos, graduation pictures, and more! @joshgroban on Instagram The Snow White Grotto has been replicated at Tokyo Disneyland and Hong Kong Disneyland, so if you want to see it somewhere other than Disneyland Park, you can also visit one of the international parks. We’ve got some really sad news out of Hersheypark in Pennsylvania. @HersheyPA This isn’t the first time we’ve gotten some bad news out of the park this year, either. Back in June, it was announced that the popular ride Tidal Force would be closing at the end of the summer 2026 season. Now, another closure has been announced. After 20 years, Hersheypark has canceled their Sweet Lights drive-through event. In a recent statement, ABC27 has confirmed that Hersheypark announced that it would be retiring the Sweet Lights drive-through experience and will instead “focus on growing Hersheypark Christmas Candylane.” @HersheyPA In case you’re unfamiliar with the holiday offering, Sweet Lights was a two-mile drive-through that had nearly 600 illuminated and animated displays across fields and illuminated, tree-lined roadways across from the Hersheypark theme park. Along with the announcement of the closure was the reveal of new holiday offerings coming to the park instead. The park will add a new Fire & Ice Experience, an “Estate of Evil” holiday open house, and new festive cars on the Twin Turnpike for the holiday season this year. @HersheyPA If you’re a little confused about the “Estate of Evil” part of the sentence above, you’re not alone. The Estate of Evil attraction will combine the Halloween Dark Nights experience with the holidays. You’ll be able to “see how the staff has decorated the rooms with terrifying holiday flair.” It sounds like a Haunted Mansion vibe, and we’re here for it! Additionally, a holiday soundtrack will be added to Holly Jolly Laff Trakk, and Santa and all nine of his reindeer will be in town once again. ©Hersheypark If you’re interested in experiencing Hersheypark Christmas Candylane, you can check it out from November 12th through January 3rd. We know the absence of the Sweet Lights will certainly be felt, and we’re sad to see it go, but we’ve got hope that the new holiday additions will be just as joyful and beloved. Halloween season has arrived in Orlando, despite the temperatures being as high as ever. While you may be most familiar with Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in Disney World and Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando for celebrating the spooky season in Orlando, there’s ANOTHER event you can’t miss this year. We’re so ready! Over at SeaWorld Orlando, you’ll find Howl-O-Scream. This event began in 2021, making this year its 5th anniversary! While this event has the lowest-priced tickets of all three events, is it truly worth the cost? We went on opening night, and our answer may surprise you! SeaWorld Orlando’s Howl-O-Scream event offers five haunted houses with four NEW storylines, six scare zones with four of them being brand new, four shows, five new interactive bars, two hordes that may strike when you least expect, and more! Tickets range in price from $47.99 for single-night tickets to $124.99 for the Two Park Unlimited Scream Pass. Are you ready? This year’s event takes place on select nights from September 11th through October 31st. Haunted Houses I Know What You Did Last Summer: The Final Catch One of the brand-new houses this year is I Know What You Did Last Summer: The Final Catch. Here, the Fisherman stalks your every move. You’ll journey through the seaside town of Southport as the horrifying events of that fateful summer come back to life. Will you make it out before the killer catches up to you? ©SeaWorld Orlando Everything Must Stay Another new house this year is Everything Must Stay. For six years, one suburban home has sat unsold while every open house ends the same way — with terrified buyers fleeing from things they can’t explain. Tonight, those unseen forces awaken, and you’ll find yourself trapped inside for the worst showing imaginable! ©SeaWorld Orlando The Rave Yard One of the returning houses this year is The Rave Yard! Buried deep in the shadows of a forgotten cemetery, a sinister underground rave pulses with life (or rather, unlife). The bass reverberates through crumbling tombstones, and mausoleums glow with neon light as the dead rise with one purpose: to party… forever. If you’re not careful, you’ll be joining them! ©SeaWorld Orlando The Dark Net Another new house this year is The Dark Net. This house takes place in a futuristic city that has been pushed to the brink by an energy crisis. Survival has taken a sinister turn, and desperate cyborgs have discovered a new power source: blood. You’ll descend into the decaying underbelly of the city, where cybernetic predators stalk the darkness, machines feed on machines, and humans are accidentally getting caught in the crossfire. Among the neon ruins, black oil drips alongside fresh blood, and once these creatures are hungry enough, they can’t always tell the difference. ©SeaWorld Orlando The Crawl Space The last house this year is another new one — The Crawl Space! Hidden beneath the city lies a forgotten network of tunnels that were abandoned after a catastrophic containment failure. Curiosity leads you through a broken fence and into the darkness, and you’ll discover that the truth wasn’t buried — it was left to grow. Each and every twisting corridor pulls you deeper underground and closer to something that’s become far larger, far hungrier, and far too close to escape. This place was sealed for a reason, and now you’ve walked right inside. ©SeaWorld Orlando Scare Zones Dooms District New this year is Dooms District! Here, civilization has collapsed, and Dooms District is ground zero for the chaos. Conspiracy theorists, survivalists, and doomsday preppers battle here to prove their version of the apocalypse is the right one and will try to recruit you before it’s too late. Extermination Order Another new scare zone is Extermination Order. Here, something is crawling, buzzing, and multiplying through the streets of Howl-O-Scream. From skittering insects to swarming horrors, the infestation has taken over, and it doesn’t plan on giving the territory back. Extermination crews are sweeping the area, hunting anything that doesn’t belong. The big problem? You’re on the list. Extermination Order Nekrosis Another new scare zone this year is Nekrosis! In this scare zone, the party ended forever when the clock struck midnight on January 1, 2000. This once-thriving seaside town has been abandoned to decay, frozen in the final moments of the millennium. The streets are littered with remnants of a decade long gone, but the people who celebrated Y2K never truly left. You’ll get to see the eerie aisles of Howl-O-Flix, a video store frozen in time, and monsters lurking behind relics of the past; every corner is packed with unsettling reminders that the greatest decade never truly ended. What REALLY happened when the countdown reached zero, and what’s still waiting here? Just One More Chapter Book lovers will adore the new Just One More Chapter scare zone! If your bookshelf is filled with toxic obsession, masked men, and the most twisted love stories, this is the scare zone you’ve been waiting for. Just One More Chapter Scare Zone Here, irresistible temptation creates deadly intentions, and every path leads deeper into the darkness. You can lose yourself in an enchanted garden filled with gothic beauty, cursed romance, and creatures that are every bit as dangerous as they are captivating. Just One More Chapter This one is POPULAR this year, and we’ve already seen it start to go viral, so if you notice it’s extra crowded, you’ve been warned. Trailer Park Tragedy Returning this year is Trailer Park Tragedy, where something wicked’s gone down at the Trailer Park. Once a rowdy backwoods community on the edge of nowhere, the residents here have turned territorial…and terrifying. Trailer Park Tragedy The place is in ruins, and the residents protect their home with savage vengeance. These locals don’t take kindly to visitors, and they’ve got the rusted tools, snarling beasts, and twisted sense of justice to prove it. You may accidentally stumble in, but getting back out is another story. Trailer Park Tragedy Scare Zone Woodrot Hollow The final scare zone, also returning this year, is Woodrot Hollow. Deep in the heart of the festering swamp lies Woodrot Hollow, a place where the trees weep sap like blood and the ground oozes with decay. The locals here whisper of a creature made of mud, moss, and rage, protecting its home from anyone who wanders too far off the trail. In this swamp, the only thing more suffocating than the stench is the silence before they strike — wander in, and you may find yourself rotting with the rest. Shows Dead Air One of the new shows this year is Dead Air! This is located at The Rewind Bar, and these ’90s rising stars never got their shot at boy-band fame—but death won’t stop their comeback. Back from beyond the grave, Dead Air takes the stage with killer harmonies, sharp choreography and a haunting twist on the boy-band era. Dead Air! Hellzapoppin Presents: The Grave Danger Thrill Show Returning this year at the SeaFire Grill is none other than Hellzapoppin Presents: The Grave Danger Thrill Show. Here you’ll creep into a rock ‘n’ roll spectacle of death-defying circus stunts and jaw-dropping oddities & curiosities. As part of the legendary Hellzapoppin Circus Sideshow, with over 3,000 performances across 16 countries, this thrill show redefines danger and wonder. Witness wild feats that push the limits of human possibility with stunts like sword swallowing, glass walking, illusions, and more. Throttle Then it was time for Throttle, another returning show. Located at the Lakeside Patio, this is a place they don’t speak of, where Hell didn’t stay below, and the dead don’t rest. Throttle Where twisted metal drinks dirty water, and fire doesn’t burn out—it feeds. Here, the riders don’t follow roads, they tear through portals. And leading them is a nightmare carved in bone and flame. He has no mercy. No soul. No brakes. He is Havoc, and he’s not here to haunt you. He’s here to rule you. Throttle is back! Monster Stomp The fan favorite Monster Stomp show is BACK again this year at the Nautilus Theater! Monster Stomp In the misty corners of Victorian-era London, a fiend known only as Jack the Ripper walks the streets. Watch him take the stage in a way you’ve never seen before in this modern rock and rhythm spectacular. We love this show! Hold onto your seat as electrifying percussion, dancing, and singing combine for a show that’s as darkly entertaining as it is exhilarating. Themed Bars We can’t forget about the five new themed bars at this year’s event! Byte Bar Plug in and power up at the all-new Byte Bar, where cyborg vampires are serving up a sinister new kind of nightlife. Step into the digital underworld, grab a themed cocktail, and drink in the futuristic atmosphere before something decides to take a byte out of you. The Rewind Grab a themed cocktail and relive the ’90s through stacks of VHS tapes, ringing landlines, glowing arcade lights, and the unmistakable screech of dial-up. Between the throwback soundtrack and the undead atmosphere, this is one rewind you’ll never forget. Just don’t expect to press “Stop.” Resurrection Club This spot has pulse-pounding beats, electric energy, and killer cocktails that bring the Rave Yard back to life. The Black Sheep Here, a doomsday watering hole where survivalists crack open the canned goods, pour the drinks, and toast to making it another night. Larva Lounge Pest control has never tasted this good! Grab a creepy-crawly cocktail and keep a toothpick handy for any legs left behind. Merchandise and Food We can’t forget about the merchandise and food at this event! Themed retail locations at the exit of Mako and the exit of the event itself feature 5th anniversary Howl-O-Scream merch. Food and drink stands are all around the park and have exclusive offerings you can’t get any other time. Personally, we stopped by the Fanta Fright House to snag one of their mocktails! Fanta Fright House Stay tuned for our review! Attractions You can also ride four of SeaWorld’s most popular attractions during this event — Mako, Pipeline, Ice Breaker, and Infinity Falls! It’s hard to find time for the rides with everything else going on, but hey, they’re there if you’re looking for some extra thrills. Mako at SeaWorld Orlando We think this event is a great choice for those who are just entering the horror scene and want something entertaining, immersive, and spooky to start out with. Even if you’re usually a fan of scarier events, we still think this is a must-visit for all Halloween fiends in the area!
