Disney Cruise Line recently introduced new accessibility enhancements across its fleet and island destinations, designed to support guests as they engage with onboard entertainment and navigate their surroundings with greater confidence and independence during their magical vacations at sea. Guests who are deaf or hard of hearing can now experience the energy of silent disco parties in an entirely new way through haptic vests, which are wearable devices that transform music and sound effects into physical sensations. Available on all Disney Cruise Line ships at the silent disco, the technology is designed to help guests feel the beat, rhythm and excitement of the party through touch, creating a more immersive experience. Disney Cruise Line has also added resources for guests with visual disabilities through the introduction of braille and tactile guidebooks, available fleetwide upon request, including at Guest Services and Disney’s island destinations in The Bahamas: Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. The guidebooks feature tactile maps and venue information designed to help guests better navigate the ship and island destination layouts. “Previously, a guest who is deaf or hard of hearing could see a silent disco happening around them. Now they can feel it. A guest who is blind or has low vision can understand the layout of a ship or an island,” said Maura King, manager of accessibility at Disney Cruise Line. “Accessibility is built into the experience at Disney Cruise Line — from ship design to onboard services — helping ensuring guests of all abilities feel supported throughout their vacation.” These enhancements are part of Disney Cruise Line’s ongoing efforts to leverage new tools and resources that support guests’ access to the entertainment, destinations and experiences that help make a Disney vacation at sea memorable. Disney Cruise Line remains focused on inclusive guest experiences. From accessible staterooms to captioning on Funnel Vision to an accessible transfer option at AquaMouse on the Wish class ships to assistive listening systems, guests will find a variety of offerings to support various needs onboard. Complementing these experiences are a number of other accessibility services and accommodations, including wheelchair-accessible public spaces, relief locations for service dogs, Disney Cruise Line’s Special Services — a dedicated shoreside team assisting Guests with disabilities requests, and more. At Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, accessibility offerings may include sand wheelchairs, mobility mats for beach access, accessible transportation options, and select excursions designed to accommodate guests with limited mobility. We hope you’ve got a strong center of gravity in Disney World today, because from what it sounds like, nearly every single person is going to need it. Wind whipping flags in EPCOT Keeping a close eye on the weather in Disney World is part of our job, considering unexpected storms, colder or warmer weather than usual, or other abnormalities can quickly affect your vacation in not-so-great ways. If you were in the parks yesterday, you may have noticed that it was windier than usual, and that’s continuing today, so be ready to brace yourself and push through the wall of wind coming your way. The U.S. National Weather Service has now extended the wind advisory for Orlando, Florida, through today, Tuesday, October 27th, at 8 PM. The warning began on Monday, October 26th at about 12:36 PM, according to AccuWeather, meaning the warning will have been in effect for about 32 hours, as long as it does indeed end at around 8 PM today. ©AccuWeather Northeast winds sitting at 15 to 25 mph with gusts of 35 to 40 mph are expected in Inland Indian River, Inland Martin, Inland Northern Brevard, Inland Saint Lucie, Inland Southern Brevard, Inland Volusia, Okeechobee, Orange, Osceola, and Seminole Counties. It’s expected that gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects, so you’ll want to make sure all your items you’re walking around with in the parks are secured, especially if you’re leaving a stroller at stroller parking. It’s also possible that tree limbs could come down, which could result in power outages. ©AccuWeather These high winds can also make driving difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles, such as 18-wheelers and other large trucks. If you’re driving in this weather, exercise additional caution and ensure your attention is solely on the road and the movement of your car. If you’re taking Disney World transportation, especially the buses, you may notice that they may be driving a bit slower than normal. It’s also possible the Skyliner may close if gusts get too intense. You can ask Cast Members around the park to ask if the Skyliner is running before walking all the way over to the station, or can also check for updates on the My Disney Experience App. Even if it is open, we warn you (from personal experience) that even if you’re not prone to motion sickness, the Skyliner on windy days can be brutal, so proceed with caution. It’s been a great month to be a Disney+ subscriber. Not only are we getting new episodes of Marvel’s new TV series, VisionQuest, but we’re also watching all our favorite Disney Halloween movies like Hocus Pocus and Halloweentown (which may be getting a new movie!). ©Disney However, some big things are happening for the streaming subscription service that you may have missed, so we’re getting you caught up on the latest Disney+ news. The second bit of news also came at the perfect time for spooky season! According to Deadline, Disney+ has struck a landmark content deal in the U.K. that will see the Channel 4 network become available on the streaming service for the first time in the U.K. That means shows like Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins and Maya, which stars Bella Ramsey, will be available on Disney+ in the U.K. and Ireland at the beginning of next year. After that, Disney+ EMEA general manager Karl Homes says there will be a “regular tempo” of new shows from Channel 4 on the streamer. ©Channel 4 This comes after Disney+ began partnering with local European networks for content swap deals that brought shows like The Bear and The Kardashians to ITVX. The Disney and Channel 4 deal, though, is bigger in scope. More details about the deal and what it means for U.K. and Ireland Disney+ subscribers will be revealed in the coming months. ©Channel 4 Now for some news from the U.S. If you’ve found yourself hooked on the new Disney+ witchy series Coven Academy, we’ve got some good news. Deadline is reporting that the show is getting a second season! The show has had strong viewership statistics over the past three weeks since its season 1 premiere. It’s picked up 20.3 million global hours since its premiere on Disney+ and Hulu, with more than 30 million views after the first chapter debuted on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. ©Disney Coven Academy follows three teenage witches and their warlock peers at a magical boarding school. Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog are waiting backstage at Hollywood Studios, which means only one thing: Jollywood Nights is almost here! This after-hours event features some of the best entertainment (including the Muppets), plus meet-and-greets. The best part, though? The exclusive snacks! Jollywood Nights is back! Disney World just announced a sneak peek of the food coming to the specialty ticketed event, so grab a pen and paper; you’ll want to write down the must-haves. Spoiler alert: it might be everything! Here’s a look at some of the exclusive snacks coming to Jollywood Nights in 2026. First up: A Twix on a Classic Pie, brand-new and available at Fairfax Fare. It features shortbread cookie crust, caramel mousse, and chocolate (of course!). ©Disney You can also catch Bing Bong Candy Lemonade at Market… ©Disney …and Hickory Holiday Mac at Backlot Express. Disney parks all around the world are seeing some pretty intense construction, though we often talk most about what’s coming to Disney World, since that’s where we visit most often. However, Tokyo Disneyland has a new ride on the way that we’ve been looking forward to for what feels like YEARS now! ©Disney Back in August, Disney revealed the name for the new Wreck-It Ralph themed ride coming to Tokyo Disneyland, and now, we’ve got an opening date just a few months later! Get your credit cards ready, because you may be tempted to take an international flight in the next year. Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue will open up at Tokyo Disneyland on April 15th, 2027! That’s less than half a year away, which may sound like a long time right now, but with how fast the months fly, we know it’ll be here before we know it. That’s plenty of time to book a trip…right? @tokyodisneyresort_official on Instagram That’s far from the only news Disney released, though, because now we know more about the storyline of the ride, as well as how exactly it’ll work. Trouble is brewing inside this candy-themed race, because King Candy is planning to take over the world of video games. He’s transformed the candies throughout Sugar Rush, such as gummy candies, lollipops, bubble gum, and ice cream, into Sugar Bugs programmed to consume the entire kingdom. On the ride, you’ll team up with Ralph, Vanellope, and their friends to restore the Sugar Bugs to their original “kawaii” forms (the Japanese word for cute) before they can destroy Sugar Rush for good. ©Disney But how exactly is the game going to work? Well, since this ride is taking the place of Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, it’s a shooter-style attraction. Riders will use the scanners installed in the ride vehicles to defend Sugar Rush from King Candy. You’ll get points based on how many Sugar Bugs are restored, meaning it’s totally interactive. You’ll be able to see your score on the screens once the ride is over, and for a limited time after riding, you’ll be able to see your score on the Tokyo Disney Resort App, as well as the photos captured during the ride. @tokyodisneyresort_official on Instagram There will also be a gift shop next to the ride (where we WILL totally be spending more money than we should, thank you very much), where you’ll find new merchandise and food inspired by the attraction. It’ll be called Pixel Prism, and it’ll be opening the same day, April 15th, 2027. The store is inspired by a digital marketplace and will feature fiber optic-inspired design elements, pixel-patterned flooring, game-inspired motifs, and a large, illuminated pixel structure at its entrance. For those who love photos to remember their trips by, attraction-inspired decorations and photo opportunities will arrive in Tomorrowland on February 18th, followed by Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue-inspired projections at Cinderella Castle beginning March 18th. ©Disney There are also a few dining options hitting the parks ahead of the attraction’s opening! Nearby, Popping Station will open on March 17th, 2027, which will be a new popcorn stand overlooking Tomorrowland Plaza, serving up different kinds of popcorn, including the new Sugar-Lime Popcorn, a sweet-and-tart flavor inspired by the Sugar Bugs in Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue. And that’s not all! Yes, there’s more; we’re not kidding. If you can’t wait for the attraction to open, or you won’t be able to make it in person, beginning January 12th, 2027, you can train to help save Sugar Rush through a new smartphone mini-game that can be played at home (though a special version will be available in select areas of Tokyo Disneyland that will incorporate park scenery into the experience). ©Apple We’ve gotta admit that we’re super excited about this ride, but when the news about it was first announced back in October 2025, fans had some mixed feelings. We posted about the ride on our Instagram, and while some users were excited, like @sonicfan4yt, who said, “You know this looks pretty good, I mean sure they’re replacing a really good ride but this ride looks very good tbh hope it comes to US Disneyland in the future,” others weren’t as excited. User @pffulton74 said, “I don’t see the point in a slow omnimover Sugar Rush ride. I have to assume they’re just re-dressing the Buzz vehicles and ride path.” Others shared the same sentiment, bummed that the ride is an omnimover instead of a coaster, seeing as the Sugar Rush race is just that — a race. November is almost here, and with it comes a ton of holiday changes to Disney World, including to Animal Kingdom! Animal Kingdom Christmas tree While the resort’s fourth theme park doesn’t offer a massive holiday event like Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, Jollywood Nights, or The Festival of the Holidays, that doesn’t mean that Animal Kingdom is left out of the season’s cheer! Let’s take a look at everything changing at Animal Kingdom next month! Merry Menagerie Let’s begin with the Merry Menagerie, which is a daytime experience in the park’s Discovery Island area. Made up of artisan-crafted animal puppets including polar bears, reindeer, foxes, and penguins, the show wows guests with larger-than-life encounters. Polar Bear Merry Menagerie puppets Back in 2025, Chris Iannuzzi, Disney’s Live Entertainment Puppetry Director, said, “When someone reaches out to pet a polar bear, even though you can see the puppeteer right there, the puppet still feels so alive in that moment. Creating that believable interaction is a testament to not only the skill of our performers, but the power of puppetry.”  The Merry Menagerie Tree of Life Holiday Awakening November will also see Tree of Life: Awakenings return to the park’s central icon on November 1st. The show, which Disney describes as a “dazzling visual display swarming with color and animated imagery,” usually runs about once every 10 minutes beginning at 6:10 PM and running through 7 PM or 8 PM, depending on Animal Kingdom’s hours on each day. Tree of Life Awakenings The Christmas Season variant of the show — Tree of Life Awakenings Holiday Edition, which sees the icon “shimmer and sparkle” each evening to a heartwarming musical score — is set to debut on November 13th. Tree of Life Awakenings – Holiday Edition Mickey and Minnie in Their Holiday Best The usual Mickey and Minnie character greet at Adventurers Outpost will receive a holiday overlay featuring the duo all decked out in their holiday attire. Disney PhotoPass photo boxes will be available during the meet-and-greet, so you don’t have to worry about taking your own photos — the box will do it for you! ©Disney Santa’s Holiday Grove Santa Claus has a new location at Animal Kingdom. Located across from Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond!’s Theater in the Wild, this new trail features intermittent snow flurries, specialty food and beverage items, a seasonal soundtrack, and a meeting with Santa Claus himself! Santa in his 2025 Animal Kingdom greeting spot… which no longer exists. Decorations Galore! From a 55-foot Christmas tree at the park’s entrance to festive garlands created from recycled materials and traditional African textiles in Harambe and even seasonal touches in Pandora, Animal Kingdom will be loaded with holiday decorations! All of these seasonal additions begin November 13th! However, there’s more than just seasonal additions coming to Animal Kingdom in November. Animal Kingdom Christmas Nomad Lounge Reservations Nomad Lounge, which is one of our favorite places to grab a drink and food in the park, is set to offer reservations for the first time ever! From October 20th through December 18th, from 3 PM to close, Annual Passholders can order two small plates and two beverages for just $49. The deal is available to all Disney World Annual Passholders and up to three guests, but this deal does not begin until November 8th, so until then, you’ll just have to visit the restaurant on a walk-up-only basis. Nomad Lounge Churros You will still be able to join the walk-up waitlist after November 8th, but a reservation will secure you a spot at the lounge on the day and time you want. Reservations are still highly recommended. Nomad Lounge Extended Evening Hours Extended Evening Hours, the hotel perk that offers two extra hours to guests staying at Disney Deluxe Tier or Deluxe Villa resorts at select theme parks on select evenings after the park closes to the general public, will be available at Animal Kingdom on the following dates in November: 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th from 6 PM to 8 PM. If one thing holds our entire Disney World trip together, it’s the My Disney Experience app. This single app has almost everything we need, from dining reservations and Lightning Lanes to hotel information and even wait times, so we know which rides to hit. Right now, it seems to be having some issues that we’re struggling with. ©Disney When we opened the app this morning, a pop-up appeared showing that it might be a rough day for the Disney World app. The pop-up on the app said, “Pardon the inconvenience. Merchandise Mobile Checkout is currently unavailable. We’re actively working to resolve the issue. We apologize for any inconvenience.” No merchandise mobile checkout? Oh no! That’s one of our favorite features, and it keeps us from waiting in line too long in stores. ©Disney We hopped on Reddit to see if people were having similar problems, and someone mentioned that My Disney Experience is glitching and deleting and recreating all attractions every 30 seconds. So if you’re struggling to find an attraction, it’s not you; it’s the app. ©Disney Because this app is such an integral part of the Disney World experience, Disney usually fixes problems quickly, so we expect attractions to be resolved fast. Merchandise checkout might take a bit longer, though. ©Disney In many Disney World stores, you can open the mobile checkout and scan items in the app. You can complete checkout, and yes, it includes your discounts, then check with a Cast Member right before you exit. If you’ve ever been stuck in a line at the Emporium at the end of the night, holding onto a Stitch plush and wondering if you’ll ever make it home, you know how important mobile checkout can be. Mobile Checkout at Creations Shop in EPCOT Truth be told, our number one thing about mobile ordering at Disney is the food! Many quick-service restaurants let you order in the app and choose a pickup time. Talk about saving time in line! It’s super easy to pass the phone around, let your family order, and pick it up when it’s ready. Right now, the mobile ordering feature is still working, and we haven’t found any issues. The most annoying thing right now is that the merchandise mobile checkout pop-up keeps popping up on every new screen we open! ©Disney Because the My Disney Experience app is such a huge part of the Disney vacation, Disney has been working on updates. They recently announced they will start adding artificial intelligence (AI) to help people plan trips with personalized recommendations. The news drew mixed responses among guests, and the AI features are set to roll out soon. ©Disney UPDATE: As of 10 AM, merchandise mobile checkout is working again! We found that the pop-up went away, and we were able ot use it while inside the parks. We’ll continue watching for other updates. Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue officially opens April 15, 2027, at Tokyo Disneyland. The first attraction in the world themed to the Walt Disney Animation Studios film Wreck-It Ralph, Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue will invite you on an interactive adventure alongside Ralph, Vanellope, and their friends. And today, we have even more new details to share, for the first time. What Is Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue? Sugar Rush may look sweet, but trouble is brewing inside the candy-themed racing game. King Candy is plotting to take over the world of video games and has transformed the candies throughout Sugar Rush including gummy candies, lollipops, bubble gum, and ice cream, into Sugar Bugs programmed to consume the entire kingdom. On this all-new adventure, you’ll enter the game world and team up with Ralph, Vanellope, and their friends to restore the Sugar Bugs to their original “kawaii” (Japanese for cute!) forms before they can destroy Sugar Rush. How Does the Wreck-It Ralph Ride Work? Here is where things get competitive! Using scanners installed in the ride vehicles, you’ll work together to defend Sugar Rush from King Candy. Points will be awarded based on factors including the types and number of Sugar Bugs restored, adding an interactive gaming element to the experience. Once the adventure is complete, you’ll be able to see your results on the ride onboard vehicle screens. For a limited time after riding, results will also be available through the Tokyo Disney Resort App. Photos captured during the experience will also automatically be added to My Photos in the app and available for purchase. New Wreck-It Ralph Merchandise and Popcorn Flavor The fun will continue outside the attraction with new merchandise and food inspired by Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue. Pixel Prism, a new shop located next to the attraction, will also open on April 15, 2027. Inspired by a digital marketplace, the colorful space will feature fiber optic-inspired design elements, pixel-patterned flooring, and game-inspired motifs, along with a large, illuminated pixel structure at its entrance. Here you’ll be able to shop for attraction-inspired items and other merchandise, including plush, candy, and toys inspired by the scanners found aboard the attraction. Also opening nearby on March 17 is Popping Station, a new popcorn stand overlooking Tomorrowland Plaza. The location will serve Sugar-Lime Popcorn, a sweet-and-tart flavor inspired by the Sugar Bugs in Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue. This brand-new flavor will also be available at popcorn wagons throughout Tokyo Disneyland. Fun Fact: Tokyo Disney Resort is famous for its variety of unique popcorn flavors, including soy sauce and butter, garlic shrimp, strawberry napoleon, and more. Sugar-Lime is the newest addition to the lineup and will be available exclusively at Tokyo Disneyland, starting March 17, 2027. Don’t forget to save room for a few extra bites, additional special menu items celebrating the attraction’s opening will be offered at restaurants across Tokyo Disneyland. Wreck-It Ralph Fun Starts Before the Attraction Opens We’re already counting down the days until the ride opens, but you won’t have to wait until April 15 to get a taste! Beginning January 12, 2027, you can train to help save the world of Sugar Rush through a new smartphone mini-game. The game can be played at home, while a special version available in select areas of Tokyo Disneyland will incorporate park scenery into the experience. The excitement will continue to build throughout the park as attraction-inspired decorations and photo opportunities arrive in Tomorrowland on February 18, followed by Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue-inspired projections at Cinderella Castle beginning March 18. What Else is New in Tomorrowland at Tokyo Disneyland? Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue is just one part of a much bigger transformation underway in Tomorrowland. At the center of this new vision, Tomorrowland Plaza is designed around the idea of humanity and nature existing in harmony and serves as a connection between Tomorrowland’s past and future. The plaza will feature structures inspired by natural elements including fire, water, earth, and wood, along with light inspired by celestial bodies such as the Sun and Moon. At night, the area will transform through light and sound. You’ll also be able to stop by Element Express, a new counter-service restaurant at Tomorrowland Plaza offering snacks and drinks. A New Space Mountain is Coming to Tokyo Disneyland Another major part of Tomorrowland’s evolution is Space Mountain Earthrise, an all-new take on the fan-favorite coaster. The attraction will preserve the spirit of the original Space Mountain while introducing brand-new architecture and a newly developed ride system that combines imaginative storytelling and immersive theatrical effects inspired by the wonders of space. The attraction begins with a launch from Earth and hurtling deep into space. Together, Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue, Space Mountain Earthrise, and Tomorrowland Plaza, plus new dining and shopping experiences, are helping shape the next chapter of Tomorrowland at Tokyo Disneyland. Music: A live band will create an elegant ambiance for the upscale dining experience. Characters: Photo opportunities with Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. On Disney’s website, we noticed that the Magic of New Year’s Eve at California Grill webpage has been updated to say that more booking details will be revealed on November 11th, 2026. California Grill We’re eager to see the pricing, details, and just how quickly this exclusive party will sell out! Trust us, this one will sell out. If you’re trying to gauge how much you need to save in 2025, pricing was: December 30th, 2025: $229 per person December 31st, 2025 (Early Seating): $299 per person December 31st, 2025 (Late Seating): $349 per person View from California Grill That being said, in 2024 it was called Tiana’s New Year’s Adventure at California Grill, and it had a Princess and the Frog theme. The price in 2024? $799 per person per person! We’re manifesting that the price won’t skyrocket this year and it stays lower like it did in 2025. While we’ve been on the lookout for the Glob Theater sign at Monstropolis in Disney’s Hollywood Studios and find ourselves sad every day it isn’t there, that doesn’t mean there isn’t work being done on the land! Progress, y’all! Progress! We stop by the construction site nearly every day to see what’s new, and while sometimes it feels like watching paint dry (because often that’s quite literally what’s happening), there are times that Disney surprises us with some new details, which is exactly what just happened the other day! While we were walking by, we noticed that not only is there some new paint and details along the buildings, but…are those WORDS? Our eyes did not deceive us! There are lots of new details over at Monstropolis, and one of the biggest ones is the letters we can see peeking out beyond the scaffolding. From what we can see, it looks like the word “Cans,” and while we can make out what look like two more words to the left, we can’t read them clearly just yet. We also love the go-away green at the very top of the building — we wonder if that will stick around, or if it’ll be painted in the near future. We see words! We also really love seeing just how many teeth have been added all around the buildings — the windows, all around the rooftops — pretty much anywhere teeth could be put, Disney has placed them there. So many teeth! It also looks like some painting is happening on one of the other buildings — while the unpainted section is still brown, it’s looking like it’ll be an orange shade. Similar to some of the windows we’ve seen so far. Painting in progress There’s still scaffolding all over the front section of the land, so we know there’s still a lot of exterior work left to do. The land isn’t expected to open until sometime in 2027, and the suspended coaster in the back of the land won’t be opening with the rest of the land, so Disney certainly does still have time. Lots of scaffolding With so much scaffolding, it does look like there’s a heavy emphasis on that exterior work at this time, which makes us wonder just how many more details we’ll begin to see. One thing we love about Disney World is that restaurants are always trying to think outside the box when it comes to food. Now, we’ve tried some questionable things in Disney World, basically food experiments that didn’t really work, but we still have to applaud the effort. Croissant Burger So when we discovered that a Croissant Burger existed in EPCOT, we were very intrigued, so we made our way over to the France Pavilion (because where else would it be?) to check it out. Meet the Croissant Burger, or the Le Croissant du Boucher as it’s called on the Chefs de France menu. This is a burger made of Angus ground beef with alpine cheese, onion confit, and mustard aioli on a croissant bun for $29.95. It also has lettuce and tomatoes on it and is served with a side of shoestring fries and a small cup of ketchup. We’ll start with the fries. They were sort of like McDonald’s fries, but they got cold quickly and needed more salt. The sad thing was they tasted like frozen fries, which was slightly disappointing at a place like Chefs de France. Le Croissant du Boucher with frites However, the croissant bun is soft and flaky, with all those buttery layers you love in a croissant. It gives each bite a nice pillowy texture. The burger is also thick and juicy with just a hint of seasoning, which allows the toppings to shine. The cheese is there, but it doesn’t compete with the other flavors. The strongest flavor is the onion confit and mustard aioli that combine to add a slightly sweet, yet savory zing. You also get some nice freshness and crunch from the lettuce and tomato. Inside We thought this burger was pretty yummy, and each bite had a nice contrast of textures and flavors. But $30 for a burger and only okay fries? Well, we’re still not so sure about that. There are so many other great French-inspired items on the menu here, like the Filet de saumon or the Boeuf Bourguignon. Then again, maybe this is an entree for pickier eaters. Filet de saumon So if you’re wanting something “safe” as far as food goes at Chefs de France, this burger might fit the bill. But it really just makes us miss the French Bistro Burger at Connections Eatery, which was only like $14. C’mon, Disney, give it back! Asteria, Storyliving by Disney’s second community coming to Pittsboro, North Carolina, recently brought a little extra Disney magic to the celebration of Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Carolina’s 30th anniversary. Mickey Mouse and Storyliving by Disney joined local children, families and community leaders to celebrate both the Pittsboro Club’s fifth anniversary and Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Carolina’s remarkable 30-year legacy of serving the community. The day began with remarks from the Mayor of Pittsboro and Board Chair of the Pittsboro Boys & Girls Club, Kyle Shipp, where Storyliving presented him with a Mickey Mouse statuette. Storyliving by Disney also announced an initial investment of $30,000 to celebrate 30 years of impactful work by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Carolina. The donation will help fund out-of-school-time programming that promotes academic success, wellbeing and workforce development, empowering young people with the tools, experiences and support they need to build bright futures and achieve their goals. The biggest surprise of all made the anniversary celebration extra special. Mickey Mouse joined the festivities, spending time with kids and families, dancing, taking photos and spreading Disney magic throughout the day. “It is very exciting to have Storyliving by Disney here supporting our organization. To know they are stepping in as a partner and being here for us on our 30th anniversary of our organization is amazing,” said Dr. Fallon Brewington, CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Carolina. The whole celebration was filled with Disney magic that brought so much joy and laughter. We hate to tell you this, but Magic Kingdom doesn’t always have the best food. Eek! We said it. For some reason, this park lacks some of the iconic dishes other parks have, but when you’re in the most famous park, you still have to eat. That’s why we’re here! We’ve eaten everywhere in Magic Kingdom and beyond, and we’re sharing a few places you might want to hit up on your trip. Let’s eat! This time, we’re heading to Tony’s Town Square Restaurant in Magic Kingdom. Okay, we have to admit, this isn’t generally our favorite restaurant of all time. While it has some solid options, we prefer other, more unique restaurants like Cinderella’s Royal Table or Be Our Guest. But with a new menu item, is it worth another visit? Let’s find out! First up, we grabbed Tony’s Garlic Bread for the Table for $14. It’s toasted ciabatta with roasted garlic butter and parmesan fonduta. It’s usually one of our favorites, so we couldn’t resist grabbing it again. Just because it’s not our favorite restaurant of all time doesn’t mean we don’t have our favorites! Tony’s Garlic Bread for the Table We just love this garlic bread! It’s cut into small pieces, making it easy to share, and you can dip it or pour cheese sauce over it. It does get a bit clumpy as it sits, so be ready to split it before it sits too long. The garlic flavor is baked into the bread, so it really comes through, and the sauce sticks well without being overpowering. While it’s fun to pour the sauce on top, we might recommend spreading it out or going for dipping, or the top pieces will get all the fun. Cheese sauce! We also grabbed the new Lasagna alla Bolognese for $35, which features meat sauce layered with mozzarella, ricotta, parmesan, and pecorino romano. Lasagna Alla Bolognese The main flavors are ricotta and tomato, with the ricotta coming through in most bites and the other three cheeses more subtle in the background. They complement the ricotta well and contribute to a slightly creamy texture. We thought there would be a meat sauce, as the menu described, but it’s more of a red sauce. Lasagna time Most of the meat sits at the bottom, so you have to dig a little, but that makes it a great option if you want lasagna that isn’t as heavy. The top pasta layers are firm and a bit hard to cut through, but the layers underneath are soft and chewy. Overall, this can be a good option for pickier eaters or for those who prefer milder flavors. Sometimes you want something comforting that you know you’ll like, and this might just do the trick. Cheesy bite Should you head to Tony’s? Well, if you’re looking for some Italian food while you’re in Magic Kingdom, it could do the trick! We love the cheesy bread, but we find most other options once we can get back to our local spots back home. The new lasagna was a great option with those classic flavors, and eating right on Main Street, U.S.A. is always fun. Hanukkah is the glow-up I wait for all year long. From lighting the menorah and playing dreidel to piling my plate with latkes, sufganiyot, and any other fried food I can get my hands on, each of the eight nights brings another opportunity to celebrate tradition, togetherness, and a little friendly competition. For the record, I’m firmly Team Applesauce when it comes to latkes, but I respect the sour cream crowd. We’re on the hunt to find the BEST hotel in Disney World to work from home at, and we’re basing it all on their coffee, their atmosphere, and their space (the number of tables and outlets available). Welcome to episode FOUR of trying to find out which Disney World hotel is the best for people who want good coffee and also want to add a little Disney magic to their workday! Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground As a writer for DFB, I have the privilege of working from home. And living close to Disney World gives me another privilege on top of that — working from the resorts! Today, we’re headed to Fort Wilderness Resort & Campgrounds! While it may not be one of the easiest locations to visit, it’s certainly one of the most beautiful when it comes to its surroundings. Fort Wilderness Resort and Campgrounds is located on Bay Lake, just a boat ride away from the Magic Kingdom. It can either be one of the cheapest or most expensive resorts to stay at depending on the type of “room” you choose — you can either camp in your own tent in the woods or stay in a cabin. Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground It can even be a hike to get around the resort itself, which is why guests staying there have the option to rent a golf cart (or they can wait for the internal bus to come). There are several dining locations here, including the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue table-service restaurant, Trail’s End quick-service restaurant, The Chuck Wagon, Crockett’s Tavern, and Meadow Snack Bar. Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue Coffee – 4/10 Where do I even begin with the coffees (YES, plural) I had here? Let’s start off with the Strawberry Shortcake Latte. This latte is made with a single shot of espresso, your choice of milk, a strawberry puree lining the cup, wild strawberry and vanilla syrups, and topped with whipped cream, strawberry puree, and crumbled strawberry shortcake pieces. Unfortunately, the strawberry puree tasted like it had been used for the last week because I got an extremely fermented taste. Luckily, the Cast Members were nice and let me get a different latte free of charge, so I opted for the Gold Rush Latte. Gold Rush Latte This latte is made with a single shot of espresso, your choice of milk, a caramel-lined cup, and vanilla syrup, topped with whipped cream and caramel drizzle for $6.38. If you like your coffee tasting like coffee, I’d recommend getting an extra shot of espresso because there is a LOT of milk compared to the shot — so much that I couldn’t even taste the coffee at all. After a little bit, the caramel sauce that lined the cup also traveled to the bottom, so I got chunks of that when I sipped it. I’d have to give this latte a 4/10. Gold Rush Latte Atmosphere – 8/10 The atmosphere really carried the weight when it came to working at this resort. The foliage of the leaves in the trees and the sounds of wildlife and nature are just so beautiful and something that you can never go wrong with. I started my day at one of the tables outside of the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue, and I really enjoyed the light breeze (HELLO, FALL!) and sounds of nearby nature and boat horns. Outdoor Seating Other than the quick-service restaurant, there aren’t many places to work from at Fort Wilderness. I really enjoyed the western atmosphere and woodsy feel of Trail’s End, but there are many other better places to work from on property than one of their quick-service restaurants. During peak mealtimes, like lunch, it also tended to get quite busy and loud. Trail’s End Restaurant Space – 3/10 While there was plenty of seating indoors and outdoors at Fort Wilderness, what there weren’t many of was outlets. During my workday here, I found ONE outlet, and luckily, I was able to get a table near it, so I could charge my laptop! You can find this table in the back corner of Trail’s End Restaurant next to the arcade. If you have a portable laptop charger and are hoping to work from Fort Wilderness, I recommend bringing it and using it because you may not be able to snag that table. This is where you’ll find the outlet! Overall – 5/10 Based on the coffee I had, the atmosphere, and the space, Fort Wilderness Resort gets a 5/10 when it comes to working from home at the Disney resorts. While the atmosphere was great, especially when I was outside, working from the quick-service restaurant wasn’t what I had hoped for. Additionally, the coffee (my second one) was too sweet for my liking, and I like my coffee sweet! Finally, there was really no place to charge my computer other than the ONE outlet I found in Trail’s End. Here are my current rankings: BoardWalk Inn — 8/10 Coronado Springs Resort – 7/10 Polynesian Village Resort – 5/10 Fort Wilderness Resort & Campgrounds — 5/10 And yes, I am putting it below Polynesian even though their ratings are tied. Emmy Award-winning voice actor Eric Bauza has passed away at age 46. via @bauzilla on Instagram Bauza’s death was announced by his family, who shared a statement on the actor’s Instagram account on Sunday, October 25th. The family’s statement read, “Eric Bauza, Emmy Award-winning voice actor and the modern voice of iconic Looney Tunes characters Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, along with dozens of other beloved cartoon characters, has passed away suddenly. More details to come.” via @bauzilla on Instagram According to Variety, Bauza was one of the most in-demand voice actors in the industry, with more than 400 acting credits to his name. He lent his voice to characters including Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Tweety Bird, Elmer Fudd, Foghorn Leghorn, Porky Pig, Road Runner, Charlie the Dog, and several others in the recent Coyote vs. Acme film. He also voiced characters in Space Jam: A New Legacy, Looney Tunes Cartoons, and more, along with characters in Avatar: The Last Airbender, Chowder, Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakuel, Scooby-Doo! We know firsthand the pain of seeing something absolutely adorable in Disney World that you absolutely HAVE to have, only to look at the price tag and feel all the blood drain from your face. Yeah, we’ve been there too many times. Primark What if we told you there were spots SUPER close to the resort where you can grab Disney merchandise for much lower prices? And no, we’re not talking about heading to the nearby Goodwills to see what you can find or looking at Walmart or Target (the prices at all those spots will indeed be cheaper, but it likely won’t be what you’re looking for). Just about 20 minutes away from Disney World, there’s a HUGE store that can get you some of the cheapest souvenirs, and we still can’t believe that no one talks about it. The Florida Mall is located just about 20 minutes away from Disney World, which means it doesn’t take very long to take a rideshare there or drive your own car. Public transportation is also an option, but expect to do a decent amount of walking! Primark at the Florida Mall Primark is one of the many stores here, and while it’s home to tons of different kinds of merchandise, the Disney offerings are the real highlight. If you’re unfamiliar with the store, there’s one thing you need to know — everything is basically VERY inexpensive! This is the first Primark location in Orlando ever, seeing as the store is based in Ireland, and the prices are lower than you can imagine. We’re talking CHEAPER than Walmart and Target, but no, it’s not knock-off merchandise; it’s genuinely authentic Disney merch! Marvel merchandise You’ll find backpacks, purses, totes, Minnie ears, tons of apparel, and so much more, including merchandise themed to specific Disney franchises and films, like Marvel. We’ve even seen an entire Bambi collection before — how adorable is that? Bambi collection The store itself is massive, but the Disney section is much larger than many people expect it to be. It’s legendary, if you ask us, and we’re shocked that more people aren’t taking the trip over while they’re on vacation. We know rideshares are expensive, and they’re not ideal if you don’t have your own car, but just think — with the amount of money you’re saving on merchandise, that more than makes up for the cost of the travel to get there! ALL the Disney stuff Don’t just take it from us, though! The store has 4.3 stars with over 700 reviews on Google, and people are indeed raving about this spot. Reviewer Sarah Cross said, “Primark Orlando is such a fun store to visit, especially if you are looking for cute Disney items without paying the high prices you usually see in the parks. The top floor has a really good selection of reasonably priced Disney merchandise for both adults and kids, including Disney clothing, stuffed animals, accessories, and home items.” Stitch collection Many visitors, like Steven Díaz Zalduondo and Yadiel Cruz, mention that the store is very organized, making it easy to walk around and see what you’re interested in. There’s nothing worse than needing to dig around a store to find what you’re looking for, especially if you come out empty-handed. However, we do have to warn you that there is one downside — thanks to those extremely low prices, this store is busy nearly ALL the time. While checkout lines usually move pretty fast, you’ll certainly want to pack your patience and get ready to spend some time in the store to see all that you’re hoping to see. Sometimes when you want breakfast or brunch in Disney World, you just want a cinnamon roll. There’s just something about the warm spices of cinnamon paired with hot dough and cream cheese frosting that almost always hits the spot. Giant Cinnamon Roll Now, we know, when we say cinnamon roll, you probably think of the one at Gaston’s Tavern in Magic Kingdom or the Mickey cinnamon rolls you can get around the resort, but we’ve got a NEW Disney World cinnamon roll to share with you, and it’s HUGE. You’ll find it at Summer House on the Lake in Disney Springs during brunch, and it is GINORMOUS. We recently dropped into Summer House on the Lake to check out brunch and ordered the Giant Cinnamon Roll for $19.95. Yep, we paid $20 for a cinnamon roll, but WAIT until you see this monstrosity! It’s HUGE. We were also impressed with just how fast it came out, so if you want to order something quick, this is it. It’s served piping hot, which means the cream cheese frosting is melting all over the edges, and it’s all gooey in the best way possible. It’s massive! The cinnamon roll itself is fluffy with layer upon layer of soft, airy dough, with a nice even distribution of cinnamon between each layer, so you get that warm spice with each bite. The cream cheese frosting adds a nice subtle tang, and the sweetness balances out the cinnamon. It’s such a perfect blend of those classic cinnamon roll flavors we all know and love. Look at all those layers Now, let’s talk about the elephant in the room…the SIZE of this thing. This is something you could share with two or three other people. So if you take that into account, the $20 price tag isn’t bad at all. We certainly couldn’t finish it on our own, although we tried! DELICIOUS There’s only one thing really wrong with this treat…it’s only available on the weekend during brunch, which runs on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 AM to 2 PM. So if you’re craving a sweet treat in Disney Springs during the week, you might want to try out one of the many delicious cookies available at the cookie bar here (yep, there’s a cookie bar). One of our favorites is the Krispy Chocolate Chip Cookie, but we also love the Lemon Cookie.
