If you’re planning a Disney World trip, you’re probably working with a budget that covers your hotel room, tickets, food, and everything you’ll need while you’re in your Disney World hotel and at the parks. But you also have to figure out HOW to get to Disney World. Southwest Airlines If you’re flying like so many of us, you’ll want to grab the best flight deal you can, and now could be the time for that because Southwest Airlines has a special offer with one-way flights starting at just $100. Southwest Airlines is currently having a HUGE fall fare sale where you could score flights for as little as $100 each way for travel from October 13th through March 3rd, 2027 (so it’s really a fall, winter, and early spring sale!). HOWEVER, here’s the catch: you have to book your flight by September 24th at 11:59 PM PT. So you’ve only got a few days to grab this deal. It might be the time to decide on your next Disney World vacation! Southwest Airlines at MCO You’ll need a 21-day advance purchase to qualify for the fare, and the following travel dates are blacked out: November 14th, November 25th, November 28th, November 30th, December 23rd, December 26th, December 28th, December 30th, January 1st, January 4th, January 18th, and February 15th. This fare is nonrefundable, and seats, days, and markets are limited. You may also need to pay additional fees for things like boarding priority, seat selection, and checked bags. So you’ll want to keep that in mind when you’re budgeting for air travel. ©Southwest Airlines You’ll also have to plan how you’ll get from the airport to Disney World. If flying into Orlando International Airport, you have several options, including renting a car, getting a rideshare service like Uber or Lyft, or booking a shared shuttle service like Mears Connect. One thing you can always count on in Disney World is new snacks popping up all the time. And with all of these different options, it can be very difficult to know what you should try on your next trip. We love the dark chocolate! Which is why we review all the newest snacks around Disney World so you know what to try and what you might be able to skip. Well, we just tried two snacks in Disney Springs, and we are bringing you all of our thoughts! On our last visit to Disney Springs, we went to two spots to try different treats, starting with Amorette’s Patisserie, where we grabbed the Toasted Coconut Flan for $9. This is Coconut Flan and Coconut Pound Cake, topped with a piece of chocolate and caramelized Pineapple. Toasted Coconut Flan This was a very delicious coconut-forward treat. In fact, the most prominent flavor here was definitely coconut; it even overpowered the pound cake. This is amazing if you are a coconut fan, but if you do not love that flavor, we suggest skipping this since it is so strong. SO much coconut! The flan itself is creamy and rich, while the pound cake was moist and very delicious. The coconut flakes do add an unexpected crunch to the pound cake that wasn’t unpleasant, but it was a little shocking if you were just expecting a normal cake texture. Toasted Coconut Flan The toppings were an amazing addition here, with the chocolate adding a great rich flavor and the sweetness of the caramelized pineapple creating a fantastic balance. Overall, if you love coconut and are looking for a rich and very tasty treat, this is an amazing option. Toasted Coconut Flan Next, we took a trip over to The Ganachery to try the Mango Chili Lime Square for $3. This is Mango Ganache covered in Dark Chocolate, with Chili-Lime Seasoning. Mango Chili Lime Square This piece of chocolate may be small, but it was delicious. The dark chocolate was the prominent flavor, but the mango added an amazing subtle note that complemented the chocolate very well. We love the dark chocolate! The spicy salt on top of the chocolate was also an amazing touch. If you are a fan of dark chocolate, this would be a great small treat to try. And this one is a seasonal flavor, so if you are interested, make sure to try it before it’s gone! Every once in a while, the DFB team gets into a HOT debate. Most of the time, it’s about which Disney World ride is best, which park snack reigns supreme, or whether a turkey leg is an abomination or not. Let’s eat some hot dogs! Recently, a brand-new restaurant opened at Universal Orlando CityWalk, and we were lucky enough to get invited to preview the spot before Fat One’s Hot Dogs officially welcomed diners. That meant that we had to decide who exactly was going to go to the media event, and it caused quite the tiff with multiple coworkers fighting over who would receive the honor. Fat One’s Hot Dogs and Italian Ice is officially open at CityWalk in Universal Orlando, and we got invited to check it out before its opening date. This led to a hot debate among the DFB team about who, exactly, was going to get to attend the event — and by hot debate, I mean that I was trying my hardest to make sure that person was ME. Unfortunately, I am also an editor here at DFB, and on the date of the event, I was scheduled to edit and run the site. Fat One’s Hot Dogs It was close, though, as we only had one other person available since it was a little last-minute, and since that person happened to be one of our reporters, well, it obviously made sense for them to attend the event instead of me (especially because I live about 90 minutes from Orlando). But, you see, I love hot dogs, corn dogs, you name it — it’s kind of part of my identity at this point. Everyone knows I got that dog in me. I even have a wiener dog (his name is Tyrion, and he is perfect). So, hot dogs are kind of my thing, and I was sad that it would not work out. There it is! What’s even funnier is that I was actually at the opening of the Fat One’s location at the Florida Mall in Orlando back in 2016, because I knew that Joey Fatone would be there, just like he was at this media event. So, I guess it’s only fair that I passed that torch onto one of our reporters so that they could enjoy the experience as well. As I was writing this article, I was curious about how many of our team members actually like hot dogs, since I know they can be rather divisive themselves. Most of our team here at DFB are staunchly pro-hot dog, with only a handful of folks standing against the iconic snack. A few were fans of hot dogs, but said that it entirely depended on how they were cooked and which toppings were on it, which, I suppose, is understandable. Food menu Luckily, our reporter had a great time at the Fat One’s event, and raved about the hot dogs themselves — so I can’t wait to visit and give them a try! Our reporter got to try Joey’s favorite (which is also now our fave), The Angelo ($10.49), a hot dog with tzatziki, tomatoes, red onion, olive tapenade, feta, and fresh dill on a brioche bun. Joey described it as a Mediterranean take on a hot dog, and he’s SO right. It’s fresh and light, but still loaded with flavor. The tzatziki adds a tanginess, while the veggies add a nice crunch. The dill brings in some brightness, while the feta and olive tapenade are more subtle and blend in with the other flavors. This is a hot dog that could pretty much please anyone. The Angelo We also had a chance to try The Fat One ($15.99), which is a footlong hot dog piled with roasted pork, pepperoni, chili beans, cheddar cheese sauce, red onion sauce, and fries on a soft bun. It’s a lot, and it’s messy, and we really hope you’re hungry if you order this. The meat flavors are most of what you get in each bite, along with a hint of flavor from the beans and the mild, creamy cheese sauce. The fries add a crispy potato flavor to each bite. This is for those of you who love loaded hot dogs. The Fat One We’ll be on the lookout for additional snack updates you need to know about and more. Disney Springs is full of great restaurants, including some really good table service restaurants. Now, we love a good sit-down table service meal, but the best part? Well, for us, it’s usually dessert. Who doesn’t love ending a great meal with a tasty something sweet? Maria & Enzo’s Ristorante Well, if you’re always going to order dessert (or sometimes ONLY order dessert) like we do, we’ve got great news. You can order dessert at three Disney Springs restaurants and help support a cause that helps kids with cancer. From now through October 31st, three Disney Springs Restaurants are offering specialty desserts featuring a homemade ginger snap cookie. A portion of the proceeds of sales for each of these desserts will go to Cookies for Kids’ Cancer, a nonprofit group dedicated to funding research for improved and less toxic treatments for childhood cancer. So buy a cookie-featuring dessert and help kids with cancer! The restaurants include Maria & Enzo’s, Enzo’s Hideaway, and The Edison. We love to spend days in theme parks, but let’s face it…that kind of vacation can sometimes be EXHAUSTING (seriously, just a day walking all over EPCOT can wear you out). So if you’re looking for a different kind of vacation, a cruise might be just what you’re looking for. It’s relaxing, but there’s still plenty to do because most cruise ships are like little cities at sea. ©Royal Caribbean Well, Royal Caribbean is one of the most popular cruise lines out there, and they’re building a NEW ship, the fifth in their Icon Class. And now, we have a first look at what construction of that new Royal Caribbean ship is looking like. Royal Caribbean is celebrating the start of the actual physical constructon of the new ship and recently had a keel-laying ceremony at Meyer Turku shipyard in Turku, Finland. There’s still a lot of work that needs to be done on the new ship, but it won’t set sail on its maiden voyage until 2028. It’s fascinating to see how these massive cities-at-sea are built, though, right? ©Royal Caribbean So what happens during a keel-laying celebration? Well, the first block of steel is placed in the dry dock at the shipyard where the ship will be constructed. The keel is the backbone of the ship and provides the foundation for the ship’s construction, so it’s pretty important. As part of the celebration, Royal Caribbean and Meyer Turki also put a layer of freshly minted coins beneath the steel block. This is a long-standing shipbuilding tradition that is said to give the ship good fortune for its future journeys. ©Royal Caribbean Royal Caribbean isn’t stopping with this ship, though. Two more Icon Class ships are in the works, including one in 2029 and another in 2030. It’s a rite of passage to take family photos when you’re in Disney World! A Cast Member in Magic Kingdom! How else are you going to look back fondly on your trip 20 years from now if you don’t take at least a few pictures? Thankfully, Disney has PhotoPass photographers stationed throughout the park to take your photo, and you can even purchase the Memory Maker package to download those photos to your phone. But one of the best reasons to visit the PhotoPass photograpers is the Magic Shots! There are some NEW Magic Shots available right now for Hispanic and Latin American Heritage Month, now through October 15th. These are special photos where PhotoPass photographers add in some “magic” effects that will appear once the photo arrives in your My Disney Experience app. The Magic Shots available for the next few weeks include several popular Disney characters! The Disney Afternoon programming on Disney Channel is ICONIC, and for a good reason. Some of Disney’s most popular — and iconic — animated series were shown during that time. That’s why we love seeing some of those characters celebrating when Disneyland has its Disney Channel Nite. Darkwing Duck ©Disney Well, one of the most iconic shows during Disney Afternoon programming HAD to be Darkwing Duck, a series that cast a duck in what is essentially a parody of Batman. It shouldn’t have worked, but it did, and fans have been begging for the show to come back ever since. There were even reports that a new series was in the works way back in 2020. Well, Disney finally confirmed that a new Darkwing Duck series is coming to Disney+ soon. A brand new Darkwing Duck series has been greenlit, which will bring Drake Mallard back as the iconic crime fighter Darkwing Duck. The series is being executive produced by Sean Tretta (Star Trek: Picard) and Borja Peña Gorostegui (Lost & Crowned). Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Alex McAtee and Gabby Grantham are producing for Point Grey Pictures, while Tad Stones, the original Darkwing Duck creator, serves as a consultant on the new series. ©Disney But that’s not all. The series will also feature some pretty BIG celebrities voicing characters in the series, starting with Mark Hamill (yep, Luke Skywalker, the Joker, etc. himself) as Darkwing Duck. Other voice talent includes Seth Rogen as Launchpad McDuck, Lizzy Caplan as Gosalyn Mallard, Lilimar as Duckie, Dan Stevens as Glade McTowers, Tiffany Shepis as Rosa, Kathryn Newton as Firecracker, Teo Briones as Timb, Tyler Dean Flores as Pondsy, Katie Rich as Officer Shanks, and Nat Faxon as Officer Webb. That is a LOT of star power! Darkwing Duck Here’s the premise of the new series: “For the last 35 years, Darkwing Duck has been trapped in his worst nightmare: an alternate world that’s never heard of his superhero exploits. Now a rebellious teen named Duckie who knows all about his heroic past shows up to pull this ego-fueled vigilante back into battle. Together, this unlikely duo will get dangerous to fight old enemies like Negaduck and Megavolt and reunite with allies Launchpad, Gosalyn and Morgana to save the entire universe.” ©Disney The original Darkwing Duck series ran for 91 episodes and scored an Emmy Award nomination. The series stayed alive in syndication for a while, too, while also inspiring several video games. Recently, Darkwing Duck has made an appearance in the new DuckTales series. A BIG upgrade has arrived at Magic Kingdom, and there’s a chance you may have walked right by it! Tomorrowland If you’ve ever ridden the Tomorrowland Speedway at Magic Kingdom, you’ve probably seen that you can get your official Speedway license. It’s an experience that’s been around for a very long time, but it recently got a pretty big upgrade. No matter how big or small, we always think it’s cool when something new arrives at Disney World. The Tomorrowland Speedway is located by Mad Tea Party and across from Cosmic Rays. It’s the attraction where your kiddos can practice driving on the road. Of course, if your kiddo is driving, they’re going to need a proper license. License Photo Booths Well, for $10 you can get an official Tomorrowland Speedway Driver’s License. Although you can print out a physical driver’s license, there is also an option to get a digital certificate for FREE. New license for $10 A Cast Member also told us that it takes a while to print, so you might have to wait a couple of minutes for you to grab your driver’s license. Go get your license! What we like about the driver’s license is that it’s one of those Disney World souvenirs that you can personalize. It gives you something with a little extra magic to remember your Disney vacation by. Personalize your license! This isn’t a new offering, though. It’s ridiculously easy to fall in love in Disney World. (Warning: I can guarantee you that I am not taking this in the direction that you’re thinking.) EPCOT I mean, we all melt a little bit when Flynn Rider smirks at us during the Festival of Fantasy Parade, or when Kylo Ren singles you out of a crowd in Galaxy’s Edge. And I certainly can’t be the first person to have a crush on a character from a Disney pre-show (I miss Dr. Seeker from DINOSAUR every day). But now, there’s a new hearthrob on the scene, and you’ll never guess where he’s hiding! You see, recently Disney replaced the artwork inside The American Adventure building after the Portraits of Courage exhibit ended. We stopped by to check out the new decor and were honestly gobsmacked by what we encountered. There’s new artwork! WHO is this diva giving Fabio a run for his money?! He looks like he should be on the cover of a cheesy romance novel, not hanging inside a history exhibit at a theme park! And he 100% knows how fabulous he is with that pose and the whole no-shirt-just-overalls look. Umm…WHO is this?! Speaking of which, why is he shirtless when all the other men in the painting are fully clothed? I mean, I don’t blame him with biceps like that, but it’s a little distracting. I know a lot of bachelorette parties come to EPCOT, but this is still a family park, folks. He knows exactly what he’s doing here. Tbh though, we’re not really mad about his inclusion in this exhibit. Do we need to name him? Give him a full backstory like the citizens of the Tiny Train Town a few doors down in Germany? Pretty soon he’s going to have a fan club, we just know it. And from the looks of that smolder, he knows it too. The classic artwork is back inside this pavilion! And if you’re actually curious about this artwork, it was painted by Clem Hall in 1982 and is titled “Building a Future Together.” It’s part of a group of paintings that were originally done by Imagineers when EPCOT was built. The artwork and exhibits inside this building change from time to time, so it’s fun to stop inside and see what they have on display during your visit. American Adventure Pavilion Also inside The American Adventure, you’ll find the attraction of the same name, which is a theater show detailing important moments in American history. But one of our favorite reasons to visit this pavilion building is to watch the Voices of Liberty, an acapella group that sings classic tunes and Disney songs. Sometimes Disney drops news and we have to do a double take because we go, “…what did they just say?” EPCOT After Hours A few times, that’s because Disney has announced something we totally weren’t expecting, but then there are other times, like today, when Disney gets a little cryptic. In a recent post about PhotoPass, Disney dropped some interesting news that has us thinking that something could be changing soon when it comes to a ride photo. In Disney’s recent post, Guide to PhotoPass at Disney World, it talks all about PhotoPass and how it can help you remember the wonderful memories you made on vacation. Now that’s nothing unusual — we love PhotoPass and often use it on our vacations, especially those of us who have Annual Passes and have chosen to add on the PhotoPass option for $99 to get all the photos we want all year. Magic Shots! What really caught our eye, though, is this sentence in the post when talking about PhotoPass ride photos: “And even more PhotoPass attraction magic is on its way… stay tuned!” In the paragraph before it, Disney specifically talks about the ride photos on Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets and how both of them are personalized to the trip you took. On Buzz, you’ll see your score on your PhotoPass photo, and on Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster you’ll see a variety of concert-inspired posters. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin From the sound of it, it seems like Disney is planning to bring in even more personalized ride photos to attractions! Could this mean personalized photos with specific information for rides like Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, or maybe even Haunted Mansion? We think that’d be a great addition, and an even more fun way to remember your trip. Disney hasn’t given any other details at this time, but we’re hoping to hear more about it in the coming weeks. These sessions cost an additional upcharge in the parks, and they’re 20-minute sessions (or 40 minutes if you book two back-to-back) that you can use for yourself and your group to get the perfect photos to remember your trip. As a mom of two kids, I know that taking little ones to Disney World is magical, but it also has it’s challenges — like the food. Get snacks and drinks delivered! If you’ve ever stood in the middle of Magic Kingdom holding a $14 chicken tender basket while your kid takes one bite, wrinkles their nose, and announces “I don’t like it” loud enough for the whole restaurant line to hear — I see you. My daughter is what I’d generously call a “selective eater,” and no amount of bribery has ever fully solved that problem inside the Disney parks. After one too many meltdowns over food she refused to touch, I stopped hoping Disney’s menus would magically win her over and started packing my own backup snacks instead. It’s made a bigger difference to our trips than any dining reservation ever has, and getting everything into the parks (and staying stocked up all week) turned out to be a lot easier than I expected. Grocery delivery Why Packing Your Own Snacks Actually Works at Disney World Disney parks allow outside food and drinks, including snacks and small coolers, as long as they’re for personal use and don’t require heating or refrigeration once you’re inside. That means a bag full of familiar, kid-approved snacks is 100% fair game — and honestly, it’s a lifesaver. No waiting in line for food your kid won’t eat, no wasted money, and no hangry toddler mid-queue. Here’s exactly what’s living in my park bag these days to keep my toddler happy and full. The 7 Snacks My Picky Eater Actually Eats A water bottle. Obvious, but non-negotiable. Florida heat is no joke, and a refillable bottle saves you from buying $5 bottled water every hour. Annie’s Bunny Grahams. Familiar, not messy, and small enough to portion into snack bags for the stroller cup holder. Oatmeal bars. These have basically replaced breakfast some mornings when we’re rushing to make rope drop, and there’s no time (or patience) for a sit-down meal. Elmo veggie straws. A fun character-branded snack that sneaks in something a little more veggie-adjacent than plain chips. Pirate’s Booty. Light, puffy, and one of the few “chip-like” snacks he’ll reliably eat without a fight. Applesauce pouches. No spoon, no mess, no drama — just squeeze and go, even in a moving stroller. Bananas. Cheap, easy to grab, and genuinely filling when energy starts to dip mid-afternoon. None of these are exotic. That’s the point — for a picky eater, familiar is what actually gets eaten, and a full stomach means a much happier kid by 3 PM. How I Keep My Bag Stocked Without Packing a Suitcase Full of Snacks The one hiccup with this approach used to be logistics: I didn’t want to fly with a suitcase half full of granola bars, and grocery runs during a Disney trip eat into precious park time. Then I tried something different and used Amazon Fresh to have everything delivered straight to our resort — and it genuinely changed how I pack for Disney trips now. Amazon Fresh Delivery Service Click here for AMAZON fresh A few things worth knowing if you haven’t used it before: Delivery fees are $9.95 under $50, $6.95 for orders $50–$100, and free over $100. Amazon’s own Amazon Basics/Amazon Grocery brands have surprisingly good prices. All the name-brand snacks you actually want (yes, including Annie’s, Pirate’s Booty, and applesauce pouches) are available, along with essentials like diapers and sunscreen. They also carry genuinely fresh items, like cut-up fruit trays and cheese-and-cracker platters, if you want more than shelf-stable snacks. You can schedule same-day delivery or reserve a window up to three days out, so you can have everything waiting when you check in. Deliveries go through Bell Services just like any other resort delivery, and cold items are kept refrigerated until you pick them up. Instead of packing a full snack stash from home (and using up precious suitcase space that could go toward souvenirs), I ordered everything the day we arrived and had it waiting at Bell Services by the time we got back from our first park day. It meant fresh bananas and cold applesauce pouches all week, without a single grocery store detour. Bell Services Disney World’s food is fantastic for many. But if your kid is anything like mine, a stocked snack bag can save your trip (and your budget) more than any dining reservation will. Pack the familiar favorites, lean on delivery service to keep everything fresh and easy, and you’ll spend a lot less time negotiating over chicken tenders and a lot more time enjoying the parks. Another change is coming to Disney’s BoardWalk Inn Resort! BoardWalk So many of our articles have been starting like this because the BoardWalk is really going through a major transformation. With a new lounge, stores, and restaurants opening, there are also tons of closures, and this new closure might disappoint some fans. The Atlantic Dance Hall is closing on October 1st at Disney’s BoardWalk. It will remain available for private events through Disney Meetings & Events and Disney Fairy Tale Weddings but will no longer be available to the public. Atlantic Dance Hall Your last chance to check out the Atlantic Dance Hall is September 25th, 26th, and 27th from 8 PM to 1 AM, so if you’re at Disney World right now or a local, you’ll want to add this to your itinerary. Let’s go to the BoardWalk! Now, if October 1st sounds familiar to you in association with the BoardWalk, that’s because Hurly-Burly is opening! This new lounge is taking over the former Jellyrolls building and will have music and tons of great eats. Opening Oct 1st During the day, the building will be open to everyone with games and activities for the whole family, but once the clock strikes 9 PM, it will be an adults-only space with live music. Hurly-Burly Concept Art ©Disney Basin, the soap store, is also coming to the BoardWalk, and we can’t wait to see what it looks like. They promised an interactive soap-making experience and custom bath tea stations that will be so cool. Change is nothing new at Walt Disney World. The resort is always evolving in both large and small ways, and that’s NOT just limited to its four theme parks, as Disney World’s hotels are also evolving this October! The waves are so fun! Over the course of the next month, Disney’s hotels will see everything from a NEW entertainment venue and refurbishments to seasonal decorations! Animal Kingdom Lodge Let’s begin with this popular Deluxe Tier Resort, which is in the midst of some major refurbishment projects. Over the course of October, the work will be split into two segments: September 28th to October 9th: The north side lobby corridor will be closed. During this time, the north side lobby elevators on the second floor and the outdoor terrace observation deck will be unavailable. October 26th to November 6th: The south side lobby corridor will be closed. During this time, Community Hall, Safari So Good Arcade, the laundry room, the Palace Library, lobby restrooms, and the outdoor terrace observation deck will be unavailable. Animal Kingdom Lodge Further rehab projects happening during October include: Boardwalk Exterior Refurbishment: Through Late 2026. Wilderness Lodge Exterior Refurbishment: Late 2026. Yacht Club Exterior Maintenance: Late 2026. All-Star Movies Refurb: Through January 2027. Coronado Springs Convention Center: Through September 2027 Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort Hurly-Burly Since JellyRolls – – the Boardwalk’s very popular longtime dueling piano bar location – – shut its doors back in April 2025, the hotel’s nighttime offerings have been limited, taking away a big chunk of the appeal of staying at the resort. However, that’s about to change on October 1st thanks to the opening of the Hurly-Burly Lounge! Hurly-Burly Concept Art ©Disney During the day, this new entertainment offering will act as a family-friendly venue with activities and trivia games. At night, it will transition to a 21+ live music venue with coastal-inspired cocktails and light bites. Speaking of those bites, Disney has released the lounge’s menu, which includes: Meatballs in Tomato Gravy: Veal, pork, and beef meatballs with tomato gravy, stracciatella cheese, Pecorino Romano, and toasted focaccia (Plant-based option available upon request) Antipasto: Sliced meats, Burrata, Pecorino Romano, and marinated vegetables Mini Pretzels with Bacon-Cheese Fondue Tomato Pie: Focaccia, tomato sauce, oregano, and Pecorino Romano (Plant-based option available upon request) Oven-roasted Shrimp with garlic, herbs, and sweet pepper-onion relish Roast Beef Sliders: Shaved roast beef and horseradish-mustard sour cream on slider rolls Theater Concessions: Trio of meatballs, sugar cookie, and buttered popcorn Mini Apple Cider Doughnuts with miso-caramel sauce ©Disney Grand Floridian Cafe Reservations Speaking of Disney dining locations, the Grand Floridian Cafe is close to reopening. The Grand Floridian dining location (what, the name didn’t give it away?) has been closed since the spring, but reservations are OPEN for the cafe now for seatings beginning November 2nd. Grand Floridian Cafe It’s Beginning to Look A Lot Like… Well, You Know While the Halloween season runs all the way until October 31st, elements of the Christmas season will begin sneaking in certain places as October, including Disney World’s hotels, comes to an end. So keep an eye out before the bulk of decorations goes up just after Halloween. If you’re like us, anytime you see a Disney Parks ad or commercial, it just reminds you of all the good times you’ve had in the parks over the years and gets you really nostalgic (and ready to spend even MORE time in the parks). Disney is REALLY good at tugging on those heartstrings, after all. Mickey! Well, Disney just dropped a NEW ad online, and it’s all about the sounds you’ll hear in Disney Parks, and let’s just say we’re going to have this ad on repeat all day just to listen to it over and over. Disney just dropped a brand new ad that will make you think you’re in a Disney Park if you close your eyes and just listen. It’s full of your favorite sounds like a train whistle, the whir of a soft-serve machine, and more, combined with the melody of Steamboat Willie. But there’s more to this ad, too, because it’s also spotlighting Cast Members and some of the local businesses that Disney works with. The Walt Disney World Railroad The ad is a nod to the jobs that Disney supports nationwide: more than 403,000 jobs (and with thousands more coming soon). It’s also a nod to products and services supplied by small and local businesses to Disney Parks. According to Disney, “Those collective sounds represent a part of Disney’s annual U.S. economic impact of $67 billion.” Take a look at the ad here. Warning: these sounds are addictive. Disney even highlights four local and small businesses it works with in the parks: La Chef Bakery in California (cakes, fresh baked goods, and mixes), Southeast Dairy Processors in Florida (dairy supplier), Chef’s Garden in Ohio (fruits and vegetables), and Sobel Westex (pillowcase and linen supplier…and YES, you can buy those pillows online). We’re getting hyped for the NEW land coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. @Disney Replacing the former DinoLand, U.S.A. is Tropical Americas, set to open in 2027. This space will have attractions themed to Encanto and Indiana Jones as well as new shopping and dining. We’ve been following the construction closely for a while now, but today we have new updates to share with you! We’re starting out this update with some photos from our in-park reporters, showcasing what you can see from outside the construction walls. Crews are busy working on the main entrance to the land and the archway is coming along FAST. It’s so much bigger now! Look at the entrance! We’ve also noticed some more rock work has been completed at the back entrance to the land. They built this structure from the ground up, and it seriously looks like old, weathered rock. The artistry is incredible! Lots of rock work coming along! From further back, you can see the support beams and structures for the rest of the construction site. There’s a lot of work still to be done, but things are coming along quickly. Wow! We’ve also got some photos to share from Twitter/X user @bioreconstruct. They share aerial photos from the theme parks, and this overhead view of the land gives us a LOT more info about how far along construction is. Here’s a glance at the land as a whole. Via @bioreconstruct on Twitter/X First of all, the exterior of Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent is getting a massive update. The exterior of the building now has a temple-like structure on the front and it looks like detailing has begun to make it look weathered. Those colors are starting to really match the concept art! You can still see the familiar remnants of the old DINOSAUR building. Via @bioreconstruct on Twitter/X We also got a peek at the construction happening over at the quick service restaurant. They’ve kept the same basic building shape from Restaurantosaurus, but the entire landscape out front has been removed. There’s a circular structure out in front that looks like it could become a fountain or planter. Via @bioreconstruct on Twitter/X Of course, the shops are getting an overhaul as well. Where Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures and the restrooms used to be, the buildings are still standing. The old DinoRama area has been completely removed, and it looks like the pathway next to the gift shop is getting opened up a bit. Disney has confirmed the return of one of their longest-running and most beloved annual traditions… and the celebrities coming along with it! Josh Gad narrating the 2024 Candlelight Processional The Candlelight Processional – – which features excerpts of the Biblical Christmas story tied together with classic hymns – – first began in Disneyland back in the early 1960s. The event came to the East Coast during Walt Disney World’s first holiday season in 1971, and was initially performed in Magic Kingdom’s Town Square. In 1994, the Candlelight Processional was moved to Epcot, eventually becoming the centerpiece of the park’s sprawling Festival of Holidays celebration, where it has been staged since. Over the years, both versions of the Candlelight Processional have featured a tremendous collection of celebrity narrators, including luminaries like Cary Grant, John Wayne, Henry Fonda, Jimmy Stewart, Gregory Peck, Charlton Heston, James Earl Jones, Van Dyke, John Stamos, and Chris Hemsworth. This year’s lineup includes: Nov. 27 & 28 – Auli‘i Cravalho Nov. 29 – Dec. 1 – Gary Sinise Dec. 2 & 3 – To Be Announced Dec. 4 & 5 – Whoopi Goldberg Dec. 6 & 7 – Robin Roberts (NEW) Dec. 8 & 9 – Jason Kelce (NEW) Dec. 10 – 12 – Neil Patrick Harris Dec. 13 & 14 – To Be Announced Dec. 15 & 16 – Lauren Daigle Dec. 17 – 19 – Ralph Macchio Dec. 20 & 21 – Henry Winkler Dec. 22 & 23 – Lacey Chabert (NEW) Dec. 24 & 25 – Jodi Benson Dec. 26 & 27 – Simu Liu Dec. 28 – 30 – Eva Longoria Each narrator brings their own unique touch as they tell the story of Christmas. Candlelight Processional This year, performances will be held nightly at 4:45 PM, 6:30 PM, and 8 PM at the America Gardens Theatre from November 27th through December 30th. Dining packages, which we’d definitely recommend grabbing for guaranteed seating, especially for some of the more in-demand narrators, open on October 14th. Candlelight Processional Disney has confirmed (almost) all of the narrators for this year’s Candlelight Processional at EPCOT.
