  2. EPCOT has become a beloved destination for Disney adults, and everyone has their own favorite. For many, it’s the Mexico Pavilion, but some guests are getting annoyed for good reason. Mexico Pavilion There are plenty of unspoken rules at Disney World. Don’t stop in the middle of a busy walkway, keep your stroller to one side when possible, and maybe don’t cut in front of someone. But there’s one habit we keep seeing in EPCOT’s Mexico Pavilion that has Disney Adults collectively sighing every single day. We get it — this pavilion is beautiful, packed with incredible details, and full of things worth stopping to admire. But if you’re going to pause, just make sure you’re not doing it in one of the busiest bottlenecks in the entire park. Please Don’t Stop Right In Front of the Pyramid The entrance to the Mexico Pavilion is one of the busiest spots in World Showcase. Guests are heading in to ride Gran Fiesta Tour, grabbing a table at San Angel Inn Restaurante, or shopping for souvenirs. When people stop directly in front of the pyramid entrance to chat, check the My Disney Experience app, take a family meeting, or decide where to go next, everything behind them slows down. Crowds at Mexico Before long, you’ve got dozens of people trying to squeeze around one stationary group, and what should be a smooth flow of traffic becomes an unexpected traffic jam. The pyramid isn’t going anywhere. If you need a minute to regroup, simply step off to the side where you’re out of the main path. Once You’re Inside, Keep Things Moving The inside of the pyramid is one of the most immersive places in EPCOT, but it also isn’t exactly known for its wide walkways. Between the shopping area, restaurant entrance, ride queue, and guests exploring the marketplace, space is already at a premium. That’s why large groups stopping shoulder-to-shoulder in the middle of the shopping area can bring traffic to a complete standstill. Inside the Mexico pavilion in EPCOT We completely understand wanting to admire the merchandise or decide what drink from La Cava del Tequila to order, but when an entire group spreads across the walkway, everyone else ends up annoyed and trying to go around you. Take a look, browse the displays, grab what catches your eye, and then continue exploring from a spot that’s a little less crowded. You’ll still get to enjoy everything the pavilion has to offer without accidentally creating a human roadblock. Gran Fiesta Tour Disney World is busy, especially in EPCOT, and everyone shares the same walkways. Small acts of courtesy like stepping aside before stopping or keeping your group from blocking narrow paths can make a surprisingly big difference in everyone’s day. Mexico pavilion in EPCOT The Mexico Pavilion is one of the most popular stops in World Showcase for good reason. A little awareness of your surroundings helps keep it enjoyable for everyone. 3. If you’re ever at the Polynesian Resort, then you’ll know the most popular spot to grab a drink is Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto. This tiki-themed bar serves some over-the-top drinks, some that even light on fire, so the waitlist can get looong! We love Tiki Terrace! But did you know they have a bar counter outside if you can’t snag a table? Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace is located outside of Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto, with an outdoor seating area and water views. It used to be one of our favorite spots to grab a drink, but then it unexpectedly closed in April. Disney must have heard our prayers for a quick-service Polynesian Pearl, because a reopening timeline was just announced! Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace at the Polynesian Village Resort has been closed for refurbishment since April. Disney didn’t announce when or if the quick-service bar would reopen — until now. The opening timeline is set for late October! Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is temporarily closed due to refurbishment work at the Grand Ceremonial House. The Grand Ceremonial House is the main building of the Polynesian Village Resort, housing the lobby and multiple restaurants, which is currently undergoing an extensive exterior refurbishment. Since Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace is connected to the Grand Ceremonial House, it makes sense why the bar has temporarily closed. Polynesian construction Disney just announced that the Grand Ceremonial House, along with Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace, will finish refurbishment on an unspecified date in October. This means that our quick-service Polynesian Pearls will be back in our hands this fall! Polynesian Pearl If you want a drink during the closure, check out Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto inside. The sister bar is known for its over-the-top cocktails, like the Polynesian Pearl, which comes in a decked-out souvenir cup, or the Uh-Oa! drink, which lights on fire! Unlike the Tiki Terrace, this isn’t the best spot for families, since only guests 21 and up can enter past 8 PM. Yes, it’s on FIRE! We’ll be sure to update you on more closures and reopenings across Disney World. Stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more Disney news! NEW DOLE Whips Coming to Disney World and Disneyland! 5. Cases of the parasitic infection Cyclospora are popping up at an extremely fast pace in the United States. Of the many states seeing increased cases, Florida is one of them. ©NY Times There’s been a parasite going around the United States that can cause weeks of watery diarrhea, and it’s not going away. 17 states, including Florida, have a combined 145 confirmed cases of the cyclospora infections from early May through June 16th, according to CBS News. According to CBS News, the cause of the recent rise in cases hasn’t been determined. That being said, it was stated that the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services said that previous outbreaks in the U.S. and Canada were linked to bagged salad mixes, fresh cilantro, fresh basil, raspberries, snow peas, and scallions. ©Britannica Health officials are urging people to wash all fruits and vegetables under running water before cutting, cooking, or eating them. It’s also been said that firm fruits and vegetables, like melons and cucumbers, need to be scrubbed with a produce brush. Also, cut away bruised or damaged areas of produce before using and eating it. You should also refrigerate any cut, peeled, or cooked produce within two hours of prepping it. ©Healthy Green Kitchen If you have a trip to Disney World coming up, you’re going to want to be aware that the parasite is growing in Florida. According to CBS, at least 50 cases of Cyclosporiasis have been reported between May 1st and July 4th, 2026. Cinderella Castle CBS also stated that “the parasite spreads through feces, and in the past, people have been infected by consuming fruits or vegetables that had been exposed to feces-contaminated irrigation water.” The CDC said that “people usually begin to see symptoms of cyclosporiasis about a week after consuming food or drinking water containing the Cyclospora parasite.” EPCOT We’re going to be following along with the news on cases and other ways to avoid this parasite. We wouldn’t want your Disney World trip to be ruined by sickness. For all the latest news, to make sure you’re prepared for your Disney trip, follow us at the Disney Food Blog. 6. Disney World isn’t the only theme park making big changes — Universal Orlando has been making some pretty big updates to its parks, too. First, Epic Universe still has that new smell because it’s only been open for a little over a year. But even that park is getting a new ride soon. Fast & Furious: Supercharged The Lost Continent and Mythos Restaurant recently closed to make way for something new, while Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit was recently demolished in Universal Studios Florida to make way for a new Fast and Furious roller coaster. But speaking of Fast and Furious, the Fast and Furious: Supercharged ride in Universal Studios Florida will be closing a lot sooner than anyone thought…as in NEXT MONTH. So Universal previously announced that Fast and Furious: Supercharged would close in 2027, but Universal recently sent a message to Universal Orlando Annual Passholders confirming that the ride will actually close on August 17th, 2026 — as in next month. That means the last day to ride the attraction will be on August 16th. It looks like Universal is moving ahead with whatever will replace it, although there hasn’t been an official announcement as to what that might be as of yet. Fast and Furious: Supercharged Fast and Furious: Supercharged is a thrilling motion-based dark ride that drops riders into the world of the Fast and Furious movies. It uses curved screens to simulate street racing, with ride vehicles being referred to as party buses. The ride and queue features appearances by actors from the franchise, including Dwayne Johnson, Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, and more. Fast and Furious: Supercharged We’ll be keeping an eye out for announcements about what might be replacing this ride in that space, so stay tuned to DFB for more. 7. Disney World is HOT nearly every day of summer, but this week has been something else. Stanley IceFlow Thanks to a heat wave, temperatures have been sitting in the upper 90s, while the real feel has brought the heat of the days to feel closer to 110 degrees Fahrenheit some days. Staying hydrated in Disney World is always important, but with heat as intense as this, it becomes essential that the water you’re drinking is also cold, if at all possible. Very few people are tempted to drink warm water, especially enough to keep them safely hydrated, but cold water is a different story. We’ve tested out LOTS of water bottles in the parks, trying to find the best one, and there’s ONE that clearly came out, even in 100° heat. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Stanley IceFlow Stanley IceFlow The water bottle that came out on top, though our second choice was just barely behind it, is none other than the Stanley IceFlow. What we love most about this bottle, other than the fact that it’s so insulated it REALLY does live up to its name and keeps your ice cold, is that it’s the perfect size for a Disney day. It’s big enough to get through a stretch of the afternoon without needing to refill every hour, but not so bulky that it takes up too much space in your bag. Stanley IceFlow We also really can’t get enough of how easily the lid comes apart for cleaning, which is a BIG deal. Let’s be real — Disney water is not the nicest out there, and you’ll want to thoroughly clean your bottle after the trip, and potentially even scrub it every few days on a longer trip. The handle also folds flat on both sides, so it doesn’t create an awkward lump against your hip or catch on the inside of your bag, which we love. If you’re looking for a one-stop shop, this IS the bottle for you. Grab on Amazon! Owala Little Mermaid Owala However, we also want to mention our second choice, which is also fantastic for a park day — the Owala! We love that these have a push-to-open lid with a second locking layer so it won’t leak if it accidentally tips over or gets jostled around. It also does a great job of keeping your drink cold, including keeping your ice intact, and yet the outside doesn’t sweat, which means no damp bag liner and no slippery grip when you pull it out mid-walk (my biggest pet peeve ever). Rapunzel Owala The FreeSip design also means you can either sip through the straw upright or tilt it back and drink from the wide-mouth opening, and that versatility is important. The only reason the IceFlow beat this one is that the lid situation on the IceFlow is just slightly better, but if that’s not a concern for you, then this is also a fantastic bottle to look at — especially if you want a cute water bottle that’s inspired by some of your favorite Disney characters, or just want a bottle that really matches your aesthetic. Grab on Amazon! We’re here to bring you all the latest Disney tips and tricks to help you have the best trip, so stay tuned to DFB! View the full article

  11. The list of construction projects at Disney World just got even bigger! Typhoon Lagoon Between new lands coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Magic Kingdom, it seems like Disney is filing permits every other week. Well, a new permit has just been filed for another construction project, only this one is for one of Disney’s water parks! Disney has filed a new permit with the South Florida Water Management District for a new project at Typhoon Lagoon! On the permit, you can see that it is titled Typhoon Lagoon Backstage Parking Lot. Typhoon Lagoon On the permit, the project’s description claims that this is “a new roadway leading to a fenced-in back-stage gravel parking lot at Typhoon Lagoon within Walt Disney World Resort.” It’s also noted that the “proposed stormwater management system consists of two dry retention ponds and four main conveyance swales that contain ditch blocks.” Typhoon Lagoon On the permits image, you’ll see that the construction site is behind the water park in the backstage area. You can see it sits right behind Crush ‘n’ Gusher. ©South Florida Water Management District The new parking lot plan tells us that the popular water park may be seeing even more guests. It’s definitely gotten busier at Typhoon Lagoon over the summer, and adding a new parking lot would give a lot more room to guests. ©South Florida Water Management District Since this is a backstage parking lot, it will most likely be parking for Cast Members who work at Typhoon Lagoon. That means that we could be seeing the current Cast Parking switched to a parking lot for guests coming to the water park. Everyone is at Typhoon Lagoon! There is no better time for this permit to be filed, because the water park is closing for the cooler season on September 9th. Both water parks were open for the summer, but Typhoon Lagoon will be getting its annual temporary closure soon. Blizzard Beach will still be open after Typhoon Lagoon closes. Typhoon Lagoon We’re not sure how long the parking lot construction will take, but we also don’t know when Typhoon Lagoon will open again. Maybe by the time Typhoon is open again, the parking lot will open with it. We’re expecting some news on the construction and a confirmed opening date for the water park once it closes. 14. If you are planning a trip to Disneyland, we just got some big news that you are probably NOT going to want to hear. Sleeping Beauty Castle Disneyland has officially raised the prices of hundreds of its menu items across both parks. Let’s get into everything that you need to know. Disneyland has just raised its prices on food and drink across both parks and the resorts. And this price increase is not limited to just one style of food or restaurant; it is affecting quick service, table service, snack stands, and even bars. Forky Some of the price increases include: Popcorn – Price changed from $6.50 to $7 Dole Whip – Price changed from $7.29 to $7.49 Pepperoni Pizza Slice – Price changed from $8.99 to $9.99 Bottled Sodas – Price changed from $5.19 to $5.49 Ronto Roasters Black Caf – Price changed from $4.79 to $5.49 Chicken Tenders – Price changed from $13.49 to $13.99 Rainbow Linzer Cookie Even the price of bottled water changed from $4.79 to $5.49. While the price increases themselves are very small, it is jarring to see the vast number of items affected by this price increase. Cheeseburger Bao While this price increase was expected as Disneyland approaches an annual increase, and given inflation, this change is unsurprising. However, if you are planning a trip to Disneyland, you need to be aware that the price of your food will be higher, and you might want to adjust your expectations and budget slightly for how much you will be spending on food during your trip. 15. Believe it or not, the 2026 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival is almost here! 2025 EPCOT Food and Wine Festival If you’re planning to hit up the beloved EPCOT annual event this fall, there are some rules you should follow to get the most bang for your buck and make sure you’re not wasting any money. Use Gift Cards One of the best ways to budget for the Food & Wine Festival is to put the defined amount of money you wish to spend on a gift card, like the adorable wristlet gift cards Disney sells during the park’s various festival seasons. We’ve recommended this for years, and the announcement that the 2026 Festival is moving to a completely cashless model for its booths makes it an even smarter play. EPCOT Festival gift card wristlet 3 NEW Restaurants, Attraction Overhauls, and Food and Wine Festival Updates…Every Major Disney Announcement You Missed Wristlets for Everyone Speaking of gift cards, we recommended getting one of those individual gift card wristlets for each person in your party, with an amount tailored to them based on their spending habits. That way, everyone is working with their own amount. Wristlet Gift Card We Know When EPCOT Food & Wine Festival MENUS Will Drop Pace Yourself Festival items can fill you up fast, even if some of the portion sizes may seem small at first sight. We’d definitely recommend only getting food from one booth at a time; that way, you and your party can pace yourselves and enjoy food from so many different booths! Greece Food and Wine Festival Booth 12 Nights When EPCOT Will Be CROWDED During the Food & Wine Festival Plan Your Eats Ahead! All of these booths and the number of items they have at each can feel overwhelming, which is why we recommend having an idea of what you want to try from each booth beforehand! We have coverage of each booth’s food and drink menus from last year; take a look to have an idea of what’s to come! And keep that website handy because once the menus officially drop, it’ll be updated! Beef Wagyu Don How Much Money Should You Really Budget For the 2026 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival It’s Okay To Change Your Plan! While that aforementioned list is smart to have, it’s okay to make changes and steer away from the original plan! If you feel yourself getting full from all the other foods and your “must-have” item is still several booths away, make some cuts to make sure you still have room. The same goes for beverages, especially of the alcoholic variety. If you find yourself starting to “feel it” as the day goes on, take a break, drink some water, and cut the rest of the libations from the rest of your day. 16. We’re about a year from the grand opening of the newest hotel at Disney World, Lakeshore Lodge. ©Disney Disney has been slowly offering up new details about the new resort, which sits on the old site of Disney’s River Country, a water park that closed in 2001. The new hotel has a nature theme and will focus on Disney stories that revolve around nature, with details taken from films like Pocahontas, Bambi, Brother Bear, and more. We recently got a sneak peek at the pools of Lakeshore Lodge, but something has already changed with those pools. The pools in question sit in The Wetlands, a huge outdoor recreation area that sits just beyond Lakeshore Lodge’s lobby. The area is surrounded by Bay Lake and will include a pool at its heart. This pool was previously called Lakeside Lagoon, but Disney is now referring to it as Lakeshore Lagoon. It will be the resort’s zero-entry feature pool with a spiral waterslide. ©Disney On the opposite side of Lakeshore Lodge, you’ll find a pool that was previously called Perspective Pond, now called Cypress Point. This will be a leisure pool and whirlpool spa with views of the Magic Kingdom fireworks at night. Under construction One part of The Wetlands will include a kids’ area inspired by Pocahontas, specifically the lyrics “the heron and the otter are my friends” from the song “Colors of the Wind.” It’s called Otter Springs and will have interactive water features. ©Disney Heron Shores will offer hands-on play with climbing features. ©Disney A lazy river, Daydream River, will be nearby where guests can hop on a tube and relax as the current carries them through The Wetlands. ©Disney Those who take a walk through The Wetlands will be surprised with fun facts about the flora and fauna that surround them. There will even be a special plaque honoring an historic attraction that was once on that spot (presumably from Disney River Country). ©Disney We’ll be keeping an eye out for more updates on Lakeshore Lodge, so stay tuned to DFB for more. 17. Although most folks who come to Orlando are there to visit Disney World, as well as Universal Orlando, and maybe even SeaWorld Orlando and LEGOLAND Florida, some make the trek to Tampa Bay to visit Busch Gardens, too, which is about 100 or so miles from Disney World. ©Busch Gardens Tampa Bay Well, if you’ve visited Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, you might have taken a wild ride on a classic roller coaster, Kumba. Well, if you want to ride Kumba again, you’ll want to do so soon because Kumba will soon be closing forever, according to The Tampa Bay Times. Busch Gardens Tampa Bay has announced that Kumba will be taking its final ride on August 2nd and closing on August 3rd. It will be replaced with a new roller coaster called Kumba’s Revenge. And with a name like that, we can imagine that the new coaster will be even MORE thrilling. ©Busch Gardens Tampa Bay When it opened 33 years ago, Kumba was Florida’s tallest, fastest, and longest coaster with the world’s tallest vertical loop. Of course, since then, roller coasters have only gotten bigger, taller, and faster, but Kumba still offers some thrills during its three-minute ride that takes a 135-foot plunge and reaches speeds of 60 mph while running through seven inversions. Trust me, I’ve been on it, and it’s a BEAST. ©Busch Gardens Tampa Bay This beast isn’t completely going away, though. According to Busch Gardens, it’s evolving into something else. Jon Vigue, president of Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, said, “Kumba has inspired generations of thrill seekers and earned its place as one of the world’s most iconic roller coasters. As we celebrate its incredible legacy, we’re also looking ahead. Kumba’s Revenge will honor everything guests loved about the original while delivering an entirely new level of thrills.” ©Busch Gardens Tampa Bay Last year, Busch Gardens announced it had plans to put $40 million on new theme parks, including an expansion for its Adventure Island water park. Now, it seems that number has jumped up to $100 million, and will include the new roller coaster that will take Kumba’s place. ©Busch Gardens Tampa Bay We’ll keep an eye out for more updates on the new roller coaster, so stay tuned to DFB for more. 19. EPCOT is chock-full of different rides – – and different ride vehicles – – however, not all of them are created equal from comfort and enjoyment standpoints. Soarin’ Around the World Seating In fact, there are some really good seats and some that…well, you should probably try to avoid if you can. Test Track Test Track, through its three distinct incarnations, has been a major fan favorite at EPCOT for going on three decades. Over that time, thrill seekers have realized that certain seats in the slot-car-like ride vehicles are better than others. New ride vehicles Specifically, the left-most seats in the front row are going to be the most thrilling during the high-speed, outdoor portion of the attraction. In comparison, the middle seat in the back row is arguably the “least” thrilling seat in the Test Track vehicle. Which of those is “best” and which is “worst” is probably up to just how “thrilled” you want to be. Outdoor section Go Behind The Scenes of This EPCOT Attraction in Disney’s Newest Video! Soarin’ Soarin’ and its variants – – Over California, Over the World, and the current Across America version – – have been one of EPCOT’s most popular rides since the Disney World version first opened in 2005. A major part of that is due to its unique ride system. As viewers of the Disney Channel circa 2002 know very well, the apparatus is based on an Erector Set, and lifts riders up on benches to mimic hang gliding. ©Disney For the best seat on the ride, you’ll want to be sitting in the front row, so that there’ll be no one above you and no feet hanging in your face. The second and third rows both pale in comparison to the front; however, the second row probably takes the cake for worst of the two, as the feeling of people above you and below you has a tendency to break the immersion. And you’ll want to be sitting in the middle, so nothing is distorted, which is why B1 is the best seat in the house. Soarin’ Across America While you’re deciding where to sit on your next ride, you’ll also need to think about where to eat. Our Guide to Disney World Dining pulls it all together so you can stop stressing and focus on the fun without feeling like you’re missing a thing! “Whose Idea Was This?” Disney Fans Have THOUGHTS About EPCOT’s New Soarin’ Across America Frozen Ever After Moving into World Showcase, Frozen Ever After in the park’s Norway Pavilion is one of the park’s most popular rides. While not as thrilling as Test Track or Soarin’, the attraction’s boats do have some seats that are better than others. Frozen Ever After The best place to sit is in the middle rows on the right-hand side of the boat, as they provide the best views of the ride’s animatronic (including the newly revamped Anna, Elsa, and Kristoff) and the least chance to get wet during the drop. On the other hand, the left-hand side, front row, is arguably a spot to avoid. The views of the animatronic are somewhat obstructed, and you’re almost guaranteed to get wet. Anna and Kristoff Next time you’re riding these iconic EPCOT attractions, be sure to pay close attention to where you’re about to sit as you board. Stay tuned to DFB for more Disney tips. 20. If something goes viral online, it’s bound to make its way to Disney World at some point in the near future, and we’ve seen it happen firsthand. Cookie Butter Croissant Some things deserve a spot in the lineup while others should just keep moving along. We’re here to talk about FOUR viral food trends that have entered the “Disney World Bubble” and determine if they should be here to stay or if they should be dumped from the island. Ube EVERYTHING Ube (pronounced oo-beh) has become increasingly popular around the world, mostly thanks to its vibrant purple color. The color actually comes from a Philippine yam, and anything it’s added to instantly gets that beautiful shade of purple. Currently, there are nearly 40 dining locations around Disney World serving something with Ube in it. Some of these items include the Ube Yum Yum Coconut Cookie from Earl of Sandwich… Ube Yum Yum Coconut Cookie …the Specialty Ube Cold Brew made with Joffrey’s Cold Brew Coffee with Ube Sweet Cream, Butterfly Pea Tea Whipped Topping, and Hibiscus Powder at Satu’li Canteen in Animal Kingdom… Ube Cold Brew …and most recently, the Motunui Ube Sundae made with Ube soft serve with Tropical Fruits, Coconut, Raspberry Crumbs, and Macadamia from the Anandapur Ice Cream Truck in Animal Kingdom. Motonui Ube Sundae This viral food has been a part of A LOT of Disney food items over the last couple of years, so we don’t see it going anywhere anytime soon. We actually don’t mind the flavors of Ube, especially when it comes to a sweet treat, so we’re okay with it sticking around for now! A Disney Restaurant Just Quietly Changed Its Menu Dubai Chocolate After months of the Dubai Chocolate trend being around, Disney finally decided to hop on board the train and add its own spin on this viral food. Dubai Chocolate is a chocolate bar filled with pistachio cream, tahini, and shredded crispy pieces called kataifi. It all started last year with a Dubai Style Chocolate Sundae at Ghirardelli in Disney Springs, but recently, we’ve seen specialty chocolate bars, coffees, cookies, and so much more becoming a part of a lot of menus. @disneysprings on Instagram Right now, you can grab two things from The Ganachery in Disney Springs — the Chocolate-Pistachio Sipper, which is Chocolate Milk topped with Pistachio Cream and served in a Cracking Dark Chocolate Cup, and the Milk Chocolate-Pistachio Squares made with a Milk Chocolate Shell with a filling of Pistachios, Tahini, and Crispy Wafers. Chocolate-Pistachio Sipper And at the Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Company location in the Canada Pavilion in EPCOT, you can find the Dubai Chocolate Frozen Cappuccino in a non-alcoholic or alcoholic version. This was an EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival menu item, but it is still listed on the current menu, so grab it while you can! Dubai Chocolate Frozen Cappuccino Personally, I think this trend is WAY overhyped, so if it disappeared from the Disney World menus, I wouldn’t be opposed. REVIEW: This Trendy Flavor Combo Has Hit Disney Springs’ Churros! Freeze-Dried Skittles Another food trend that went viral surrounds the fruity candy Skittles. It went so viral that the brand even made a whole product around it — SKITTLES POP’d, and that’s what Disney World uses in their food items. The candy is freeze-dried to make them puffy and crunchy rather than soft and chewy. Some places you can find this viral food around property are at Everything POP Shopping & Dining at Pop Century Resort for their Cake Bar, which is a Cake Pop with Buttercream and SKITTLES POP’d Freeze Dried Candy… Cake Bar …the Mickey Strawberry Cookie Sandwich with SKITTLES POP’d Original Freeze Dried Candy made with two Mickey sugar cookies and strawberry-flavored buttercream frosting at the Main Street Confectionary in Magic Kingdom and Goofy’s Candy Company in Disney Springs… Mickey Strawberry Cookie Sandwich …and the Hand-dipped Mickey’s Premium Ice Cream Bar with SKITTLES POP’d Original Freeze-Dried Candy at Anandapur Ice Cream Truck in Animal Kingdom. Mickey Premium Bar with Freeze-Dried Skittles I think this viral food trend is FUN and would love to see it stick around, but other members on our team tend to disagree, so it’s really up to your flavor profile! Every Croissant Flavor To Ever Exist Disney World, especially Pop Century Resort, is known for having the most chaotic croissant flavors. What started out as one exotic croissant flavor has turned into tens! Specifically, you can find the Cookie Butter Croissant at Everything POP Shopping & Dining at Pop Century Resort… Cookie Butter Croissant …the Mocha Croissant at Intermission Food Court at Disney’s All-Star Music Resort... Mocha Croissant …the Pistachio Croissant at Tamu Tamu Refreshments in Animal Kingdom… Pistachio Croissant …and the GIANT chocolate-dipped Croiss Oh La La at Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie in the France Pavilion in EPCOT. Any day I’m eating a croissant is a good day, so keep these flavors coming, Disney! Croiss Oh La La While some of these items are extremely delicious and deserve a permanent spot on menus throughout Disney World, others should primarily stick to being social media trends. 22. A lot of construction is happening at Universal Studios Orlando! Construction at Universal Orlando We recently took a trip to Universal Studios Orlando to see what was going on at the park, and we have not one, not two, but THREE construction updates for you. The park has been seeing some changes over the past couple of years, and they’re not done quite yet! You know what we think about often? How there’s a new Fast and Furious roller coaster on the way! This one-of-a-kind coaster is scheduled to debut next year, in 2027, and so construction has been underway for months now. This last visit, we saw how much work had been done so far. Construction on the Fast and Furious roller coaster Universal has laid down a lot of the roller coaster tracks! It was honestly surprising to see how much work they had done with the track already. We can’t stop looking at the part that goes straight up and then stops. Fast and Furious Hollywood Drift construction The roller coaster coming to Universal Studios Orlando is called Fast & Furious Hollywood Drift, and it’s the same one that was first announced to be coming to Universal Studios Hollywood. You can see the construction from outside the park, because the ride is replacing Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, which closed in August last year. Work is underway for the Fast and Furious ride It also looks like work is being done on what could be part of the queue line, or maybe it’s the load/unload station. More construction The new ride isn’t set to debut until next year in 2027. Universal is hard at work to match its timeline, and you can see it in the construction progress. Universal is hard at work! In other construction news, we also saw that work is being done on the Horror Make Up Show. The Horror Make Up Show officially closed on May 12th to be reimagined, although we don’t have a ton of details on what the reimagining will look like. Horror Make-Up Show is closed and being worked on. Universal did say that the updated version will “showcase a mix of classic and modern horror properties along with shockingly fun surprises,” so the show will most likely be the same, just more updated. Plus, we did see a sign that said “Horror Make-Up Show” and “Enhancements in Progress!” The sign also mentioned it was a temporary closure for the attraction, which was part of Universal’s original announcement. Enhancements in progress! Lastly, Finnegan’s is still being worked on. We saw there is just a massive tarp on top of the building, and walls all around it. The restaurant closed on January 12th and will remain closed through Winter 2026. So, we’re not expecting to see this dining spot till the end of the year. No specific reopening date has been announced, and we’re assuming there’s a lot of work to be done if the closure is that long. Finnegan’s construction A lot is going on at Universal Studios Orlando! If you don’t want to miss out on all the news and updates from the park, make sure to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog. We’re here to make sure you’re caught up on everything, and you know what to expect for your vacation. 27. Choosing where to stay at Disney World is one of the biggest decisions you’ll make when planning your vacation. The Dolphin Hotel While plenty of guests book one resort and never think twice about it, some hotels offer perks that can completely change the way you experience your trip. If you’ve never considered staying at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort, there are two major reasons it might convince you to switch hotels on your next Disney World vacation. Room Service Makes Resort Days Even Better Sometimes the best part of a Disney vacation is slowing down for a little while. Whether you’re taking a midday break from the parks or planning a full resort day, having room service available can make your stay feel much more relaxing. Especially since most of the Disney Resorts do not have room service anymore! Instead of heading back out to grab food after a long day of walking, you can have a meal delivered right to your room. Swan and Dolphin Resort It’s especially convenient if you’re traveling with little ones who are already asleep, if you’re exhausted after Extended Evening Hours, or if you simply want a quiet breakfast before heading to the parks. It may seem like a small perk, but after logging 20,000-plus steps in the parks, being able to unwind with dinner in your room can feel like a luxury you’ll wonder how you ever vacationed without. They are available for breakfast from 6 to 11 AM and for dinner from 5 PM to midnight. Sushi from Kimonos And guys, the food is actually fantastic! For dinner, you can order things like quesadillas, chicken wings, soups, salads, wraps, burgers, and even pizza. But that’s not all; there are several pasta dishes and Asian cuisine you can order, including sushi! For breakfast, you can order cereal, waffles, omelets, and more. We love the variety you can get here without even leaving your room! Some of the dinner entree options. ©Swan & Dolphin You Can Walk to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios Location is everything at Disney World, and this is where the Swan and Dolphin truly shines. The resort sits within walking distance of both EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, making it one of the most convenient places to stay on property. Instead of waiting in long bus lines at the end of the night or squeezing onto crowded transportation during the morning rush, you can simply stroll back to your hotel. Walking path The International Gateway entrance to EPCOT is just a short walk away, making it incredibly easy to pop into the park for dinner, a festival snack, or a few attractions without committing to a full park day. The walk to Hollywood Studios is just as convenient, and if you don’t feel like walking, you also have access to Friendship Boats that travel between the parks and nearby resorts. Having multiple transportation options gives you extra flexibility and can save valuable vacation time throughout your trip. For guests who plan to spend a lot of time in EPCOT or Hollywood Studios, it’s hard to overstate just how much this location improves the overall Disney experience. Less time commuting means more time enjoying attractions, dining, and entertainment. Swan and Dolphin Hotel walkway to parks If you’ve always stayed at the same Disney Resort, it might be worth branching out. Between the convenience of room service and the unbeatable ability to walk to two of Disney World’s most popular theme parks, the Swan and Dolphin offers perks that can completely change your vacation. Looking For Transportation That’s Not There There are a lot of different modes of transportation Disney guests can take — the Monorail, the ferry boats, the Friendship Boats, the Skyliner, rideshare options — the list goes on and on. But not every area has the same modes of transportation. So, when people are looking for transportation like the Monorail or the Skyliner in Disney Springs, we take a deep breath. Monorail at EPCOT Disney Springs only has two free modes of Disney transportation — the buses and the boats to nearby resorts. There is also a rideshare option, but that comes at an extra cost. It’s also important to note that the buses and boats only go to resorts, not the theme parks. If you want to go to one of the four theme parks and you’re at Disney Springs, you’ll either have to board the buses or boats back to your resort and go from there, or take a rideshare over to the parks. Disney Springs Boat Dock We Just Got A BIG Magic Kingdom Transportation Update Can’t Find Pleasure Island We get it — it may have been a long time since your last Disney trip, and things may not look the same anymore, but one of the biggest icks we get when going to Disney Springs is seeing someone looking for Pleasure Island. This area was catered to adults with themed nightclubs, bars, and entertainment venues and officially closed in September 2008. While we do cringe at this moment, we can’t help but feel bad because let’s be real — we miss it too! Pleasure Island 4 Abandoned and Creepy Parts of Disney World Trying To Board A Bus Without A Reservation This is the newest addition to our “Top Cringey Things You Can Do in Disney World” list because this rule was enacted just under a month ago! Now, guests boarding the buses to nearby Disney resorts MUST show their hotel or dining reservation to be allowed on board. The New Bus Rule Recently, we’ve really gotten the ick when guests are turned away from boarding because they weren’t aware of this new rule. Even worse is when the guest turns it into a whole scene by arguing with the Cast Members, who are only doing their jobs. Don’t be that person and read up on Disney’s newest rules before your next trip! Disney Bus Everything You Need To Know About the New Disney Springs Transportation Rule Leaving Your Kids Unsupervised Many guests think that they can leave their children unsupervised in Disney World because there’s always a Cast Member around to watch, but PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS. Cast Members are there to help make sure you are having a great vacation, not to be free babysitters. Not only is it cringey, but it’s also not allowed — all children must be supervised by an adult, no matter where they are or if there is a Cast Member nearby. It can get very crowded in Disney Springs since it doesn’t require a park ticket, so always keep an eye on your children! Disney Springs Crowds Are Disney’s Theme Parks Getting MORE Crowded? New Report Reveals All Obstructing Walkways One of the most common things to do that is extremely cringey is to obstruct walkways. We see this ALL the time — stopping in the middle of a walkway to tie your shoe, standing in front of an entrance to a store, blocking an emergency exit; we see these things CONSTANTLY! The next time you’re caught in a similar situation, just take a moment to step to the side and be aware of your surroundings because obstructing these areas is actually prohibited in all parks and resorts in Disney World.
