  5. Who’s ready to go on a Disney Cruise? We have good news if you raised your hand, because it’s about to get even easier! ©Disney The Disney Believe is Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, featuring beloved Disney stories such as Peter Pan, Toy Story, Encanto, Frozen, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Moana, and The Little Mermaid. If you’re eager to sail on the ship, too, then today is your lucky day: Disney just announced booking dates for the Disney Believe! You can book your voyage on the Disney Believe starting on October 19th 2026, in just a few days. The Disney Believe will set sail on 18th December, 2027, out of Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with ports of call in the Bahamas and the Caribbean. ©Disney As a Wish-class ship, the Disney Believe will likely feature 1,250 staterooms, including verandah staterooms, oceanview staterooms, inside staterooms, concierge suites, royal suites, and a ship-exclusive Believe Tower suite. Most staterooms on the ship will likely sleep three to four. Our room on the Disney Wish! The Tower Suite was just confirmed to be themed to Magic Kingdom! The main space draws inspiration from Main Street U.S.A. ©Disney There will also be rooms and spaces in the Suite themed to the different lands in the park, such as Frontierland and Adventureland! ©Disney When you step onto the Disney Believe, you’ll be welcomed into the Grand Hall and greeted by a shining bronze statue of Moana and her companions, Pua and Hei Hei. Disney shared that the Grand Hall will be infused with the optimistic spirit of exploration from the Moana films and that Imagineers turned to artisanal Polynesian finishes that honor the South Pacific’s cultural traditions. The guardrails around the statue feature a floral pattern straight from Moana’s dress, the stair rails have a triangular pattern, and the second-story railings have an ocean wave pattern, all in a natural brown color. We can also see that the carpet flooring is a blue design reminiscent of the ocean. ©Disney We also just found out that we can expect to find a new version of the Tangled show as well as the first-ever Broadway-style Encanto show, which we are already thrilled to check out. ©Disney We know we will be booking our trips as soon as booking opens in just a few days on October 19th! We’ll be sure to keep you updated on more Disney Believe announcements. 7. The newest ship coming to theDisney Cruise Line fleet is the Disney Believe, which will be the cruise line’s ninth ship and the fourth ship in the Wish Class. The Disney Believe will be setting sail for the first time in late 2027, but Disney has been sharing new information about the ship throughout the year. ©Disney The new ship’s experiences will be shaped by some of the most beloved Disney stories such as Encanto, Frozen, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Moana, and The Little Mermaid. For a while, we’ve been waiting to hear what kind of experiences the ship will offer inspired by these characters and stories. Well, Disney just announced something BIG regarding the entertainment on the ship! Disney just shared that the Disney Believe will have a new Encanto-themed stage show (and yes, our entire team is losing our minds). Some cast members came out to sing songs from the movie. ©Disney This is the first time Encanto has been staged on a cruise. ©Disney We wish it played every night because we would watch it every night (okay, but we got to see the other shows, too). ©Disney There will also be a Tangled-themed show with a new set design from other cruises. Also, can we talk about the concept art? They better sell posters for everything because we love it. ©Disney Disney Seas the Adventure is an original stage show for Wish class ships and will feature beloved Disney and Pixar characters and iconic songs. We’ve seen this before and always have a really good time. It puts us in the mood to get our cruise adventures on! ©Disney In the summer, Disney shared some other details regarding the Disney Believe during the D23 Expo. It was announced that the Disney Believe’s bow will feature one of the most iconic characters, Tinker Bell. Her silhouette will be “flanked by the silhouettes of Peter, Wendy, Captain Hook, and other characters from the film flying amid the swirling design.” The details look amazing! ©Disney It was also announced that the stern of the ship will feature everyone’s favorite duo, Woody and Buzz. The two will appear to be working together to etch the ship’s name on the back of the vessel. We can’t wait to see what this looks like when it’s complete. ©Disney Lastly, Disney also shared that when you step inside the ship and enter the Grand Hall, you’ll see the bronze cast statue of Moana and her companions, Pua and Hei Hei. It was only a matter of time until we saw Moana as a big part of a Disney cruise, and now the time has come. ©Disney We’re expecting Disney to be sharing a lot more news about the Disney Believe until the ship is ready to set sail. 8. Are you ready to Believe? We’re talking about the Disney Believe, the ninth ship to join the Disney Cruise Line fleet. ©Disney The Disney Believe will set sail on its maiden voyage in late 2027, and will feature some of Disney’s most beloved stories, including Peter Pan, Toy Story, Encanto, Frozen, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Moana, and The Little Mermaid, as well as other Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars stories. However, what we’re most interested in when it comes to this new ship is the FOOD, and now Disney has revealed some new restaurants coming to the Believe! Disney just made some HUGE announcements about the Disney Believe, including the names of the lounges and restaurants coming to the ship. Let’s take a look! Disney Believe Cafe Kakamora will be a lounge inspired by the Kakamora from Disney’s Moana. ©Disney Big Hero Sips will be a spot inspired by Big Hero 6, where you can different types of drinks. ©Disney We were predicting a lounge themed after Disney Villains, and while that isn’t the case, there will be a lounge themed after the iconic Disney Princess who started it all, Snow White. This lounge is called Wishing Well! ©Disney Disney did hint that the lounge might be getting something “magic mirror themed”, so we’ll have to wait and see what that’s about. ©Disney A new rotational restaurant coming to the new Disney Cruise ship is called Oaken’s Table: A Frozen Family Feast. Oaken is setting the tables for a festive family reunion at his summer house. ©Disney Beloved Frozen characters will be there, as well as Oaken’s family. ©Disney There’s also going to be a piano lounge themed after The Little Mermaid called Sea Notes. ©Disney It’s going to feature live entertainment, and it looks like quite the elegant experience! We can’t wait to see how this turns out. ©Disney Then there’s Stargazers! While we don’t know much about this lounge, the poster indicates that it will be a gorgeous spot featuring some of Disney’s most beloved characters. ©Disney The popular Haunted Mansion Parlor lounge on the Disney Treasure and Disney Destiny will be aboard the Disney Believe. Disney didn’t share whether the lounge themed after the iconic Disney Parks attraction would be the exact same or have differences, but we’re excited to see it come to the new ship. Haunted Mansion Parlor on the Disney Destiny The Disney Believe will have a total of three rotational restaurants, including the previously mentioned brand-new Oaken’s Table: A Frozen Family Feast, as well as popular spots 1923 and Worlds of Marvel. 1923 and Worlds of Marvel can both also be found on the Disney Wish, Disney Treasure, and Disney Destiny. Worlds of Marvel on the Disney Treasure If you’re looking for a place for a sweet treat, you can check out Inside Out Joyful Sweets, which will be a candy store on the ship. The candy store will also feature characters from Inside Out 2. ©Disney The Disney Believe will also have a Grand Hall featuring a statue of Wayfinder Moana and her companions, Pua and Hei Hei. The Grand Hall itself will be themed around the spirit of exploration from the Moana movies. ©Disney We’ve also learned that the bow will feature Tinker Bell as she appeared in the animated Peter Pan. She will be “flanked by the silhouettes of Peter, Wendy, Captain Hook, and other characters from the film flying amid the swirling design.” The stern will feature Woody and Buzz Lightyear from the Toy Story movies! ©Disney Disney has not yet revealed specific itineraries or booking dates for the Disney Believe, but we’ll keep an eye out for updates, so stay tuned to DFB for more. 9. Let’s set saiiiiil! Okay, but imagine hearing that onboard a Disney Cruise Ship, wearing Mickey ears, and Donald Duck just waved to you. If that sounds magical, you might be ready for your next Disney Cruise. ©Disney Lucky for you, Disney just announced the maiden voyage for their newest cruise ship, the Believe. 2027 is going to be a big year, and we’re ready! While we knew The Believe was setting sail in late 2027, we officially know it will be December 18th, 2027. There will be 4- and 5-night cruises out of Port Everglades. It will also sail to the Bahamas and the Caribbean. We’re on the Disney Wish learning all about the Disney Believe! Port Everglades is in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, a little less than four hours from Disney World. Bookings will open on October 19th, 2026, so if you want to be on one of the earliest bookings, you’ll want to make sure you set up a calendar reminder since they can sell out fast. ©Disney Don’t catch the maiden voyage? That’s okay, there are plenty more! With 4- and 5-night cruises, the ship isn’t going anywhere (except to the destinations, of course), so you’ll have plenty of time to check it out. We understand wanting to get in on the hype early, though, and to see everything for yourself before social media spoils it, so make sure you’re ready to book. Let’s go! Disney announced ten restaurants for the cruise, including a new Frozen concept for rotational dining that focuses around Oaken, called Oaken’s Table: A Frozen Family Feast and

  10. One Disney World trend we never love to see coming is price increases. Mickey at Garden Grill Over the last few years, we’ve noticed an annual price increase on almost everything related to the Disney parks, from snacks to tickets and even table service. Even Signature Dining Experiences continue to increase in price, and this latest hike is no different. Now, the price has increased on the most exclusive dining experience. It’s not uncommon to see Disney World increase prices every year on food, experiences, park tickets, Annual Passes, and more. If you’re heading on a trip anytime soon or even into 2026, you need to be prepared to pay a bit more for character meals around the resort. Ariel at Cinderella’s Royal Table If you don’t know what a character meal is, it’s a dining experience where Disney characters meet and greet with guests while you enjoy your breakfast, lunch, or dinner. They move around from table to table and stop for a hug, photo, and (sometimes) a quick conversation. It’s a great way to meet several characters easily while pausing for a meal and getting some guaranteed AC. Chef Mickey! Sadly, the time has come for those annual price increases across the resort. Character dining prices increased across all four parks and resorts: Akershus Royal Banquet Hall — Breakfast: Increased from $62 (adults) $39 (children) to $66 (adults) $42 (children) Akershus Royal Banquet Hall — Dinner: Increased from $46 (children) to $47 (children) Chef Mickey’s — Breakfast: Increased from $58 (adults) $37 (children) to $62 (adults) $41 (children) Chef Mickey’s — Dinner: Increased from $69 (adults) $44 (children) to $72 (adults) $46 (children) ‘Ohana — Breakfast: Increased from $53 (adults) $33 (children) to $58 (adults) $36 (children) Cinderella’s Royal Table — Breakfast: Increased from $74 (adults) $45 (children) to $79 (adults) $49 (children) Cinderella’s Royal Table — Dinner: Increased from $88 (adults) $52 (children) to $92 (adults) $57 (children) Cape May CafĂ© — Breakfast: Increased from $49 (adults) $33 (children) to $52 (adults) $35 (children) The Crystal Palace — Breakfast: Increased from $52 (adults) $33 (children) to $57 (adults) $37 (children) The Crystal Palace — Dinner: Increased from $42 (children) to $46 (children) Hollywood & Vine — Breakfast: Increased from $33 (children) to $34 (children) Hollywood & Vine — Dinner: Increased from $42 (children) to $45 (children) Topolino’s Terrace — Breakfast: Increased from $52 (adults) $33 (children) to $59 (adults) $39 (children) Tusker House — Breakfast: Increased from $52 (adults) $35 (children) to $53 (adults) $38 (children) 1900 Park Fare — Breakfast: Increased from $58 (adults) to $59 (adults) 1900 Park Fare — Dinner: Increased from $44 (children) to $45 (children) Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White — Dinner: Increased from $67 (adults) and $41 (children) to $72 (adults) and $46 (children) Lilo at Ohana! While we don’t love to see these price hikes, we will admit you’ll still catch us at these character meals on special occasions, when we’re craving some good food, or we’ve just been missing Mickey for a while. 11. Y’all, we have breaking churro news, which for us is one of the biggest pieces of news we can announce. Nomad Lounge Churros We love churros a little bit too much, and we especially love the Nomad Lounge churros. They’re some of our favorites at Disney World, but good news, everyone: it just got easier to get them! You’ll be able to mobile order to-go churros from Nomad Lounge in Animal Kingdom. Disney says you can “Satisfy your churro craving with the convenience of mobile ordering at Nomad Lounge To Go. Order your freshly prepared churros ahead of time, then stop by during your selected arrival window to pick up your snack.” ©Disney To order, you will be able to pull up “Nomad Lounge To Go” in the My Disney Experience App and click “Begin Order.” Add your items and choose an arrival window. You’ll stop by the restaurant to pick them up. If only they had DoorDash! The mobile order isn’t quite up but it should be soon! Churros While we will definitely be taking advantage of mobile ordering, don’t forget the vibes at Nomad Lounge are incredible. It’s where we go when we need to truly relax and take a breather during our park day. We grab a drink and some churros, and we’re set to gaze off the porch and just take a moment during our Disney World trip. Nomad Lounge We’re so happy it’s easier to get the churros, and we’ll be dreaming about it all day. 12. It’s day three of learning more about Disney Believe, Disney’s newest cruise ship, and the day keeps getting better. We’re on board the Disney Wish, which will have the same layout as Disney Believe, debuting in late 2027. While onboard, Disney keeps giving us more hints about what to expect when the Disney Believe sets sail. Let’s go! You can catch up on day one and day two right here so you know everything we do, but today’s big news is a livestream for everyone to enjoy at 4:30 PM EST. We’re expecting some big news, and we’re crossing our fingers to learn about the rotational dining restaurants, lounge themes, and everything else we could want. Let’s dive into what we know so far. Disney gave us some clues as to what we see onboard, and we saw plenty of hints to Peter Pan, Inside Out, Encanto, and possibly Monsters University, and honestly, everyone, I am losing my mind over it. Monsters University on a ship?? Say less. Clues We headed to Castaway Cay to look for more clues! We grabbed a coffee with Prince Eric’s statue on it, which is obviously giving us The Little Mermaid vibes. We are too obsessed with DCL coffee As we started on the scavenger hunt across the island, we first went to the Heads Up Bar where we put together a puzzle that looks like Bruno’s vision from Encanto. We think Encanto will be pretty prominent on the ship, and we’re crossing our fingers for a rotational dinner themed to Encanto. Can you imagine the arepas? Bruno’s puzzle We also opened a treasure chest that revealed a map that says, “Your ticket to the Disney Believe reveal is scattered across Castaway Cay.” Guess we have to explore the island a bit more! Scavenger hunt time Don’t forget to check out the livestream on October 7th at 4 PM for major reveals. 13. As huge Christmas fans, we’re trying to stay present and enjoy the spooky season, but Disney isn’t making that easy with this brand-new pop-up shop at Disney Springs. It looks like we now have a reason to start shopping for Christmas decor and gifts a little early this year! New Hallmark Pop-Up! A new Hallmark Pop-Up shop has just opened at Disney Springs, and now we can’t stop thinking about the most wonderful time of the year. The store is filled with tons of Christmas ornaments, souvenirs, and more. We had to run to Disney Springs to check out the store on day one, and we’re taking you inside with us! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Check out tons of Hallmark Christmas ornaments on our storefront using the button below! view halLmark ornaments in our storefront! Before the store opened, they already had a full outdoor physical queue and a wait of OVER an hour for the virtual queue, which you have to join by speaking to a cast member holding an iPad at the front. The store stays at a civilized occupancy level because it’s smaller. The line was long! Truthfully, they definitely could have gone into a bigger space, which would have been easier for them logistically. It doesn’t surprise us that both the physical line and virtual queue line were as big as they were, considering the huge fandoms of Disney and Hallmark (us included, of course). Everyone is lined up! Inside the store, there were items like the Cinderella Castle Tree Topper that lights up and plays music. The Cast Member working there told us that it’s already sold out at most stores, so this is the only place you can get it at the moment. Cinderella Castle They also told us that the red Mickey ornament that records your voice plays a significant role in the Hallmark movie, Holiday Ever After: A Disney World Wish Come True, that was filmed on Disney World property and is coming out soon. This Mickey Ornament is a part of the ‘Holiday Ever After’ movie! So do the pajamas and the Skipper Mickey ornament. ‘Holiday Ever After’ There were a lot of other cool ornaments to look at, especially for Star Wars fans! Darth Vader ornament! Yes, definitely for Star Wars fans! Han Solo ornament Other merch was available that weren’t ornaments, including plushies

and holiday clothing! Look at this Spirit Jersey! We left after spending about an hour in the store after the store, and there were hardly any Loungefly bags on the wall and hardly any Loungefly ears left. It’s hard for us to believe that they just didn’t have time to restock them. They had a lot of employees there, along with people from Hallmark corporate and Disney leadership, who we assume would make that a huge priority. So it could be that they had already sold out of some things, at least for now. There’s also a chance they don’t have much room for stock in the back, so maybe it’s a question of getting it from somewhere else on property. Regardless, they were HUGELY popular. All the Loungefly is almost gone! We actually asked someone from Hallmark corporate if this was a test to see if something permanent could exist here, and she said, “We’re definitely hoping for something permanent.” That would be cool, and from the success of this, it seems highly likely. Honestly, why wouldn’t they open a store at Disney Springs? We love this new store! You can check out tons of Hallmark Christmas ornaments on our storefront by using the button below! 14. Just like the parks, Disney World restaurants are constantly changing. A new chef can take a menu from ‘meh’ to amazing, a refurbishment can change the entire atmosphere, or a limited-time dish can be the best thing you eat on your whole trip. Brunch at Olivia’s Cafe in Old Key West Olivia’s Cafe at Disney’s Old Key West Resort has discontinued brunch, a longtime favorite of ours and a hidden gem in Disney World. Now, the restaurant will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner each day, and Disney just released the new breakfast and lunch menus! The new Breakfast menu features some familiar brunch favorites like the Oatmeal Brulee, Southernmost Buttermilk Chicken, Crab Cake Eggs Benedict, Banana Bread French Toast, Buttermilk Pancakes, Sombrero Beach Omelet, Papa’s Hash, and the namesake Olivia’s Breakfast. Breakfast menu The Lunch menu is similar to the dinner menu, featuring the same Conch Fritters, Shrimp Cocktail, Homemade Soup of the Day, Market Salad, Shrimp and Grits, Mahi Sandwich, and Southernmost Buttermilk Fried Chicken. New items include the Tuna Poke Bowl and Chicken Stir-Fry. Lunch menu The Dinner menu is identical to before brunch was discontinued, so you can still get your favorites. If you want to dine at Olivia’s Cafe with these new changes, breakfast will be served daily from 7:30 AM to 11:00 AM, lunch from 11:30 AM to 2 PM, and dinner from 5 PM to 9 PM. Two new menus! Lilypad, the frog-shaped tablet from Toy Story 5, has officially moved into Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and while plenty of guests are excited to see her spinning tunes, a whole lot of fans have one big question: what is one of Bonnie’s toys doing in Andy’s backyard?! Meet DJ Lilypad If you haven’t caught up yet, here’s the scoop. Lilypad from Toy Story 5 has a new gig as DJ of Alien Swirling Saucers, and the ride now goes by Alien Swirling Saucers: Lilypad Jams. She’s not just there for riders, either. Guests walking through Toy Story Land can guess which toy Lilypad is doodling on her drawing app, help her unscramble puzzles, and watch “home videos” of Toy Story characters. Why Is She in Andy’s Backyard? Here’s where things get interesting. The entire premise of Toy Story Land is that YOU have been shrunk down to the size of a toy and are hanging out in Andy’s backyard. That’s why there are giant Tinkertoys, oversized Popsicle sticks, and Andy’s handwriting all over the place. And Lilypad? She’s Bonnie’s toy. Once she started showing up, our comment sections lit up. One reader got right to the point: Another reader laid out the full case: Honestly? We get it. Toy Story Land is one of the most immersive lands at Disney World, and a big part of its charm is how committed it is to that “you’re a toy in Andy’s backyard” story. So when something shows up that doesn’t quite fit, fans notice! Spinning to new tunes Disney Bends the Rules Sometimes This isn’t the first time Disney has stretched a land’s story to make room for a new or popular character. Frozen Ever After moved into the Norway pavilion in EPCOT’s World Showcase, and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind landed in a park that was once all about science and innovation. Even Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, which launched with a very specific place in the Star Wars timeline, has since welcomed characters from other eras, like The Mandalorian and Grogu. The Mandalorian and Grogu The reasoning is pretty simple: when a new movie comes out and a character becomes a fan favorite, Disney wants guests to be able to see that character in the parks. And kids who just watched Toy Story 5 are probably thrilled to find Lilypad waiting for them (they’re likely not too worried about whose backyard she’s in). The Toy Story Timeline Was Already a Little Fuzzy Here’s a fun wrinkle, though. By the end of Toy Story 3, Andy gave his toys to Bonnie, so Buzz, Jessie, and the rest of the gang are technically Bonnie’s toys now. And Woody headed off on his own adventure with Bo Peep in Toy Story 4. So if you think too hard about it, Andy’s backyard was already sort of frozen in time, a snapshot of the toys’ “good old days” rather than where the story stands today. Could Lilypad just be visiting? Maybe she tagged along for a playdate? Slinky Dog Dash So, Is This a Good Change? We can see both sides here. Die-hard fans who love the detailed storytelling of Toy Story Land have a totally fair point about continuity. At the same time, Lilypad brings fresh music, new interactive games, and some extra energy to a part of the land that didn’t have a ton going on between rides. For families with little ones who just saw the new movie, she’s going to be a hit. 17. Uh oh, a storm is moving closer to Florida, and we might see some pretty intense weather. We’re in the middle of storm season, so massive weather changes aren’t surprising, but storms haven’t gotten this close. Rainy Day in Magic Kingdom That may be changing as Tropical Storm Isaias forms in the Gulf of Mexico. According to News 6, Tropical Storm Isaias is expected to strengthen rapidly and could become the first hurricane of the 2026 Atlantic season. It has had maximum sustained winds of 45 mph and was moving east-northeast at about 8 mph. The storm is expected to turn northward and speed up, approaching the northern Gulf Coast by Friday afternoon. ©News 6 The storm is moving over very warm Gulf waters with plenty of moisture and relatively light wind shear, creating a favorable environment for rapid strengthening. The National Hurricane Center expects Isaias to become a strong hurricane before approaching the northern Gulf Coast on Friday. ©National Hurricane Center If the storm becomes a hurricane, it would mark the first hurricane of the 2026 Atlantic season, and if it reaches hurricane strength by October 8th, it could tie the record for the latest first hurricane, set on October 8th, 1905. Storm season in Magic Kingdom The storm’s exact track is uncertain, but a Storm Surge Watch is now in effect from the mouth of the Mississippi River to Yankeetown, Florida, while a Hurricane Watch is in effect from Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, to Indian Pass, Florida. Rainy days The storm is expected to grow as it approaches the coast, meaning impacts could extend well beyond the center. Central Florida is not expected to get a direct hurricane impact, but the storm could pull additional tropical moisture into the Southeast and contribute to a wetter pattern across the region this weekend, with possible heavy rain and flooding. 18. If you’re staying at a Disney World hotel, you’ll receive A LOT of perks, including free transportation to and from the parks and Disney Springs, an advanced window to book Lightning Lane reservations, and early entry into the parks before the general public! But there’s one perk that’s EXCLUSIVELY available for guests staying at some of the cheapest resorts on property! Pop Century Resort Typically, the Deluxe Resorts will be home to more perks, including Extended Evening Hours, but not this perk — this one’s for the cheapest resorts. This perk actually begins before your vacation officially starts: at the airport. And it can take A LOT of stress and weight off your plate. This perk is the Airport Luggage Transfer. This allows guests staying at select resorts to hand their bags off to Disney to take care of and bring to your resort for you! The steps to do so are simple: Fill out the BagCheck registration form for the Airport Luggage Transfer anytime from 30 days to one day (24 hours) before your departure flight, head to the airport and follow your airline’s procedure to drop off your luggage, and skip the baggage claim once you arrive at the Orlando International Airport — just head to your resort! MCO Airport Once you get to your resort, you have a couple of options: You can either pick up your bags from Luggage Assistance and Bell Services in the hotel lobby, or you can use your in-room phone to contact Luggage Assistance and Bell Services to have your luggage delivered directly to your room. Just be aware that it can take up to four hours for your bag to arrive at your hotel from the airport, so make sure to keep all of the essentials with you in your carry-on bag. All-Star Sports Resort This perk is also available when your vacation is over! So, how does it work when you check out? First, you’ll need to check in for your flight online starting 24 hours before departure. You’ll pay any necessary baggage fees via your airline’s mobile app or website. Then, you’ll drop off your luggage at the Luggage Assistance/Bell Services area between 24 hours and four hours prior to your flight’s departure time. You can either drop your bags off yourself or use your in-room phone to contact Luggage Assistance/Bell Services to have your luggage delivered directly to the drop-off area. You’ll then head to the airport, skip the check-in line, enjoy your flight, and pick up your bags at baggage claim when you arrive at your final destination. The luggage assistance desk! Now, this is only available at select resorts and on select airlines. The eligible resorts include: Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort Disney’s All-Star Music Resort Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort Disney’s Art of Animation Resort Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort Disney’s Pop Century Resort Disney’s Art of Animation Resort And the following airlines offer this service: American Airlines Southwest Airlines United Airlines JetBlue Southwest Airlines at MCO This could be a GREAT service to use if you are traveling with a large party or with children since you don’t have to worry about your bags. Your hands will be free to worry about other things; you won’t have to wait at baggage claim when you get to the airport, and, depending on the method you use to receive your bags, you may not have to use one of the large luggage carts at the resort to get your bags to your room. Caribbean Beach Resort However, there are some cons, including the waiting and the resort. As I stated above, it can take up to four hours for your bags to arrive at your resort. If you have a late flight, your bags won’t arrive at your room until even LATER, causing you to stay up and lose out on the precious sleep you need for your park day ahead! Disney’s Pop Century Resort And when it comes to the resorts, these are some of the cheapest you’ll find on property, which, yes, is a pro, but it also depends on what you’re looking for in a hotel. If you’re hoping to stay in close proximity to the parks, these resorts won’t be the best option for you. And those resorts that are in close proximity to the parks do not offer this service. Art of Animation If you’re planning a Disney World vacation, you really have to weigh the pros and cons of this service to figure out if it’s something you’re hoping to take advantage of during your trip. Things could change because change is a constant around Disney World, so we’ll keep you updated with any announcements about this service! 19. Uhm, Disney? Did you mean to take away one of our favorite hidden discounts? Bottled sodas are pricey in Disney World Disney World is expensive; there’s no way around that, but there are some ways to save some money. One way is to use discounts, especially if you’re an Annual Passholder or Disney Vacation Club Member. We used to use a merchandise discount to grab drinks, but Cast Members have confirmed it’s gone! Previously, we bought our soda and water bottles in gift shops, since Annual Passholders receive a 20% discount inside merchandise stores, as it’s technically a “merchandise discount.” This discount didn’t work at snack carts or restaurants since it was classified as food, even though it’s the same product. Popcorn and water at EPCOT After Hours With the hundreds of price increases that recently hit Disney World, they removed this discount. Ah! So we not only lost the 20% discount, but prices across Disney World also went up. Well, that doesn’t feel so magical. Discounts on bottled drinks were removed for Annual Passholders, Disney Vacation Club Members, Disney Visa Cardmembers, and Cast Members, so it was a big hit. Free snacks and bottled drinks at After Hours! What’s the best way to get around this? You might be stuck buying full-priced water and soda bottles, but you can also grab lots of free water around the parks. Most quick-service restaurants have cups and water, so you can fill your own. Keep an eye out for free water Kids meals usually come with a drink, too, so if you just need a little pick-me-up, that can be a great way to grab some soda. Grab a small soda You can also check out Club Cool! You can try free soda samples from different countries, and while you can’t fill up a whole bottle, it’s still a nice small pick-me-up when you need it. 21. Disney World does something to children. Maybe it’s the heat, or the sugar, or the fact that they woke up at 5:47 AM because their parents watched every “rope drop” video on YouTube and have been operating on caramel apples and adrenaline ever since. Whatever the reason, spend enough time in Disney World, and eventually you will see a child do something so spectacularly strange that you have to stop, stare, and briefly wonder about all of the factors that brought you to this moment. Hi Bingo! And listen, kids are kids. They’re curious and creative, and their impulse control is still under construction. Sometimes the weird thing they’re doing is completely harmless and objectively hilarious. Other times, you find yourself wondering why somebody is licking the Haunted Mansion queue. Yes, licking. Our team has spent a LOT of time in Disney World, and we started comparing notes about some of the wildest things we’ve witnessed kids do in the parks and hotels. Friends, we had stories. Wearing Shopping Bags as Ponchos We’ll start with something I almost have to admire. Disney World rainstorms have a way of arriving when the sky looked perfectly innocent 11 minutes earlier, which means occasionally you have to improvise. And we have seen children wearing Disney shopping bags as makeshift ponchos. Plastic shopping bags Head through the bottom. Arms through strategically placed holes. Congratulations, your $45 Spirit Jersey purchase has now also provided emergency outerwear. It isn’t glamorous or particularly safe (plastic bags can be suffocation hazards, after all), but I have to give props for creativity and ingenuity. And to be fair, the kiddo didn’t think this up by himself; there was definitely an adult involved who saw the $12 poncho in the shop and decided that they had spent enough. But compared to what’s coming later on this list, the shopping bag poncho kids are practically wilderness survival experts. Tap Dancing on a Via Napoli Table One of my personal favorites happened at Via Napoli in EPCOT. A child climbed onto the table and proceeded to perform what I can only describe as a miniature tap dance routine. Not one quick bounce onto the table before a parent intervened. A routine. Via Napoli in EPCOT’s Italy pavilion Meanwhile, the adults at the table continued their conversation like this was simply the entertainment portion of dinner. I was fascinated, dumbfounded, and completely perplexed while also wondering what this family’s home life must look like if this is normal “out at a restaurant” behavior. Via Napoli in Epcot Via Napoli already has giant pizza ovens named after Italian volcanoes. And on this particular afternoon, it also had dinner theater. I get it, kids get restless during long meals. But restaurant tables are generally better suited for pizza than choreography. Putting Absolutely Everything in Their Mouths Children explore the world with all five senses. Unfortunately, sometimes they really commit to taste. We’ve watched kids put a questionable number of weird things in their mouths. We’re talking loose change, MagicBand fobs, pens, and Sharpies. You know, the same Sharpie they are about to hand Mickey Mouse so he can sign an autograph book. Mickey signing the bottle Disney World has Mickey pretzels, DOLE Whip, cheeseburger spring rolls, and about eleven billion other legitimate things to eat. The quarter from the bottom of Mom’s backpack does not need to make the tasting menu. Beyond the obvious germ factor, small objects can become choking hazards, which is where the quirky childhood curiosity stops being funny pretty quickly. Licking Disney World This deserves its own category because, according to the kiddos, Disney World is one enormous lollipop and nobody told us. One member of our team watched a kid lick the railing while walking through the “it’s a small world” queue. “it’s a small world” I’ve watched a child lick the queue chain at Haunted Mansion. Another team member saw a kid lick the monorail window during COVID, I may add. Someone else watched a child fully lick the gemstones around Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. Not touch them. Not press their face against them while looking closely. LICK. Interactive Elements At some point during our discussion, a DFB team member finally asked the question haunting all of us: Why are they licking everything? We do not have an answer, but we do have hand sanitizer. Bring it. Licking PEOPLE Unfortunately, the licking problem does not end with Disney infrastructure. I know this because I have been licked. By a child I did not know. On the back of my leg. And, somehow, this ALSO happened in the Haunted Mansion queue. It still haunts me (pun intended). Haunted Mansion queue There’s another slightly less horrifying version of this phenomenon that several members of our team have experienced: kids standing behind you in a queue and just
rubbing your legs. Tiny hand. Stranger’s calf. No introduction. Little kids are still learning personal boundaries, so an accidental bump or grab happens. Disney queues can also pack people together pretty tightly. But if your kid has been quietly petting the stranger in front of you for the last four minutes, it may be time to redirect. Turning Souvenirs Into Weapons Bubble wands are delightful until they become medieval weaponry. One of our team members had a child smack her in the leg with a bubble wand. His mom responded, “Aw, sorry, he just got it.” Which explains why he had the bubble wand, but did not entirely explain why our team member’s shin needed to meet it. Bubble wand in Disney World We’ve also seen kids walking around deliberately whacking people with banshee tails from Pandora. Disney sells a tremendous number of toys that swing, flap, light up, bubble, extend, retract, or otherwise become surprisingly dangerous when placed in the hands of someone who has recently discovered centrifugal force. A quick “please don’t hit strangers with your banshee” goes a long way. Chasing Down Characters This one happens more often than you might think. Kids get excited when they see characters. (I can’t blame them; I do, too!) You’re seven years old, and you see Winnie the Pooh walking toward you. Rational decision-making has left the building. But our team has repeatedly watched kids chase characters through restaurants and parks, run in front of them, or cut them off while they’re trying to reach their meet-and-greet location. Don’t leave the line! One particularly memorable Chef Mickey’s incident involved children running across the dining room to intercept Mickey before he could reach the other tables. We’ve also watched kids run directly in front of Pooh and Tigger as they were walking. Chef Mickey at Chef Mickey’s! Characters often have limited visibility, particularly when wearing costumes with large heads or other elaborate elements. Darting directly in front of them can put both the child and the Cast Member in a genuinely unsafe situation. You want a core memory from childhood being hugged by Mickey, not breaking his ankle because he tripped over you. Raiding Other People’s Tables at Chef Mickey’s And speaking of Chef Mickey’s, another DFB Reporter has a story that remains burned into several of our brains. A child from another party walked over, took her bag off her seat, and threw it underneath the table. Then the child started removing things from her table. Salt. Pepper. Menus. Again, this was not somebody seated with her group. Chef Mickey’s table setting Imagine enjoying your Mickey waffles and suddenly realizing a preschooler from four tables away has begun systematically dismantling your place setting. Kids get bored, they explore, and grab things. They decide that the salt shaker is suddenly the most fascinating object in the entire Contemporary Resort. That’s also where the adults accompanying them need to jump in. Nobody wants to spend breakfast on a scavenger hunt because little Jimmy has decided Chef Mickey’s entire condiment inventory belongs in his own collection. Eating Floor Pizza And finally, we arrive at an incident so powerful that I have thought about it repeatedly since hearing the story. One of our team members used to work at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort. One night, while delivering packages to rooms, she came across a group of middle school boys hanging around the exterior hallway. All-Star Movies Resort There was a food court pizza sitting upside down on the ground. To be completely clear, the CHEESE SIDE was touching the floor. She then watched one of the kids pick up a slice and eat it. Middle school boys are a different species. Kids Are Going To Kid, But Disney World Is Still a Public Place Part of the fun of being around kids is that they are unpredictable little agents of chaos. They make weird choices. They invent games nobody else understands. They wear shopping bags as rain gear. They do things that become family stories you’ll still be telling at Thanksgiving 20 years later. And some of the insanity is delightful. Family Zumba Class But Disney World is still a public place filled with thousands of other people. Vacation doesn’t mean basic safety and manners disappear somewhere around the “Welcome to Walt Disney World” sign. Licking railings and putting random objects in your mouth can spread germs or make a kid sick. Running through restaurants or darting in front of characters can cause somebody to get hurt. Hitting strangers with toys or invading another table stops being adorable pretty quickly for the stranger involved. Tiana meeting at Princess Fairytale Hall And parents don’t magically clock out because there are other adults nearby. If you need to focus on something else for a minute, hand kid-watching duty to another adult in your group. If your child does something unsafe or inappropriate, redirect them. If you suddenly notice your kid has acquired three pepper shakers that did not belong to your table, perhaps investigate. It’s Daisy Duck! Disney World should be a place where kids can be loud, curious, goofy, excited, and wonderfully weird. We’re just asking them to please stop licking it. The Cafe and Lounge are officially closed as of October, and the cafe is set to be closed till December and the Lounge until January. Scat Cat’s Club – CafĂ© For now, you can find the beignets and coffee at Sassagoula Floatworks & Food Factory, and a temporary bar will be available near the cafe from 5 PM to 11 PM each night. Okay, so they’re just moving a bit over, but we don’t want you to see it closed and get worried about your beignets. Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory If you’re just craving beignets and the Mickey shape isn’t a requirement for you (come on, you’re in Disney World! It’s got to be a requirement), then you can also find them at Golden Oak Outpost at Magic Kingdom. It’s right by Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, so you feel like Princess Tiana made them herself. Golden Oak Outpost Maybe you’re just a donut person (and don’t argue with me about the difference between a beignet and a donut; they’re pretty dang similar). Joffrey’s Coffee locations have these big donuts that I start off almost every park day with. My personal favorite is chocolate or the pink one with a hot cocoa! DONUT! More for movie lovers: Cinemark Theatres Gift Card! ©Amazon You can grab the $50 gift card for 15% off, which is hard to pass up. This is an amazing year for movies, and 2027 is looking even better, so this is a great way to get ahead of the trends. 26. As Disney+ Subscribers know, Disney’s streaming service offers a long list of perks, discounts, sweepstakes, and access to special events and merchandise, but they don’t stick around forever. ©Disney Right now, there are several limited-time perks that are just on the verge of expiring in October, so anyone who wants to take advantage of them had better act fast! An AMAZING Spidey Offer 2026 may well be the year of Spider-Man, as the wall-crawler stars in the mega-successful Spider-Man: Brand New Day film, and Marvel is about to release the 1000th issue of Amazing Spider-Man (When one adds together every issue that has been published in various numberings and relaunches). In celebration, Disney+ Subscribers have access to a special comic bundle on the Marvel Unlimited app, even if they don’t have a subscription! ©Sony Through October 14th, subscribers can redeem a bundle that offers the following landmark issues: THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN (1963) #1 THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN (1999) #546 THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN (2015) #1 THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN (2018) #1 THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN (2025) #1 ©Disney+ Avengers Assemble! Speaking of Marvel offers, Disney+ Subscribers can get a $10 Fandango promo code to see Avengers: Endgame Encore back on the big screen. This Fandango Promo Code is good for up to $10 off (total ticket price and associated fees and charges) the purchase of one movie ticket to see Avengers: Endgame Encore (which is already making big money at the box office) at participating Fandango theaters in the US. This code, which is limited to one per person, must be redeemed by October 31st, or when Avengers: Endgame Encore is no longer in theaters, whichever comes first. ©Disney BONUS: Wolverine! Okay, this final one is a bit of a cheat since it technically is available until November 14th, BUT any Marvel fans who are excited about free Spider-Man comics and discounted Avengers tickets will likely be interested in getting their digital hands on an early unlock of the Yellow Variant suit in Marvel’s Wolverine, the new game based on the iconic X-Man developed by Insomniac Games. This is especially true considering it usually takes about 8-9 hours of gameplay to unlock the suit! ©Disney Disney+ Subscribers — especially if they’re Marvel fans — should be jumping on these exclusive perks before time runs out!
