  2. If you’ve ever wished your Disney World resort came with a side of arcade games and bowling, you’re in luck. You can bowl at Disney World! Tucked inside the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort is Lagoon Lanes, Games & Eats — a brand-new arcade, bowling alley, and quick-service eatery all rolled into one. It’s a completely different vibe than your typical Disney dining spot, and it just so happens to make the Swan and Dolphin the only hotel in Disney World with its very own bowling alley. The Lagoon features four mini bowling lanes tucked right into the space. This isn’t a full-scale, rent-your-shoes bowling alley — it’s a casual, family-friendly take on the game, with no shoes required and no lanes to reserve ahead of time. That makes it easy to squeeze in a quick game or two whenever the mood strikes, whether you’re killing time before a park day or winding down after one. Having bowling available right at your hotel is a big deal for families or groups looking for something to do that isn’t a pool day or a theme park visit, and it’s exactly what makes this spot worth keeping on your radar. Bowl here! Bowling isn’t the only game in town here, either. Lagoon Lanes, Games & Eats is set up as a full arcade space, so there’s plenty to keep kids (and adults) entertained beyond the lanes. The dining tables aren’t separated from the arcade area at all, so you’re right in the middle of the action while you eat — expect it to be loud and lively, which is part of the charm. If your kids won’t leave the games, this setup makes it easy to keep them close by while still getting food into them. Lagoon Games, Lanes & Eats Since this is a bar-cade style spot, the food is casual and easy. You order at a self-service kiosk, and everything comes out in takeout containers, so it works just as well for a quick grab-and-go meal as it does for eating at one of the arcade tables. The menu includes appetizers like the Tornado Potato, Loaded Tater Tots, and Blazing Shoreline Fingers, plus mains like a Crispy Fried Chicken Sandwich, a Grilled Lagoon Burger, and Chicken Tenders. Sides include coleslaw, onion rings, and chili, and dessert options include a 7 Layered Chocolate Cake and a Carrot Cake Slice. We tried the Tornado Potato, which is a fun, twisty potato-on-a-stick presentation that was tasty, though it could use a dipping sauce to break up the flavor. We also tried the 7 Layered Chocolate Cake, which was a hit: a generously sized, shareable slice that was moist and packed with chocolate flavor Full spread Lagoon Lanes, Games & Eats is a great stop if: You want to check out the only bowling alley at a Disney World resort Your kids won’t leave the arcade, and you need to get some food into them quickly You’re looking for quick, casual bar-cade style bites rather than a sit-down meal You may want to skip it if you’re hoping for a meal that will wow you, something that will please a big group with varied tastes, or a more traditional restaurant experience. Lagoon Games, Lanes & Eats This wasn’t the most impressive meal we’ve had at the Swan and Dolphin, but that’s not really the draw here — the real appeal is having bowling and arcade games available right at the resort, with easy, casual food to match. With the mini bowling lanes, Lagoon is a genuinely fun hangout spot for families staying at the Swan and Dolphin. Just go in expecting a casual bar-cade experience rather than a destination restaurant, and you’ll have a great time. 3. Disney’s Animal Kingdom is known for having some of the best dining options in all of the Disney World parks, and that often extends from actual meals all the way to desserts. Is this dessert as good as it looks? One of our favorite desserts in the park right now is the Cookie Dough Brownie Ice Cream Sandwich, which is totally worth any long line you see for it, and so we had high hopes for this new dessert at Pizzafari. Alas, we took one bite, and that was almost too much. Over at this quick-service restaurant, you can now snag the new Marbled Swirled Cheesecake for $6.49. This is made with Vanilla Whipped Cream, Chocolate Sauce, Mini Brownies, and Chocolate Zebra Stripes. Marbled Swirled Cheesecake While this dessert absolutely looked delicious and had us very excited, it wasn’t anything to write home about. It tastes like a standard slice of cheesecake, but one that you’re not particularly impressed by, and we wouldn’t call it marbled — it more looked like shards of chocolate were just shoved in the cheesecake before it was baked. The brownie pieces on the plate were the strongest flavor, leaving the actual flavor of the cheesecake to be lacking. We wanted so much more While there is a citrus zing to each bite that combined interestingly with the chocolate syrup, there was nothing about it that made us want to keep eating it. We had one bite and were pretty much done, so we can really only recommend it for someone who’s looking for super simple flavors and prefers dishes they are already familiar with. We recommend saving your money for one of the many other delicious treats around the park, such as the ice cream sandwich we mentioned earlier, which is right across from Pizzafari. 6. If you’re planning your very first trip to Dollywood in 2027, you have more access to good food than you might think. Tennessee Creamery Cheese and Charcuterie Board One of the biggest surprises for newbies visiting Dollywood is just how much the park leans into food. The problem at Dollywood isn’t finding good food — it’s knowing where to start! From seasonal offerings to Southern comfort staples, there are plenty of great options. Let’s go over some of our favs! If it’s your first visit, knowing where to spend your stomach space (and hard-earned cash) can make all the difference. Here are the restaurants and snack spots we’d prioritize. Start With Dollywood’s Famous Cinnamon Bread If you’ve done even five minutes of Dollywood research, you’ve probably heard about the legendary Cinnamon Bread. Dollywood Cinnamon Bread Inside the park, everyone heads to the Grist Mill — and for good reason. The warm loaf — which is covered in cinnamon sugar and served with icing and apple butter — has become one of the park’s signature snacks. Our icing and apple butter! That said, here’s a little secret many first-timers don’t realize: You can grab this bread OUTSIDE of the park, as well! It’s also available at Songbird Market at Dollywood’s HeartSong Lodge & Resort, and DM Pantry at Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort. Cinnamon Bread in our hotel room! When you buy it at the hotels, you’ll also likely avoid the long waits. Don’t Skip the Festival Food Booths If you’ve spent time snacking your way around EPCOT or Disney California Adventure‘s festivals, you’ll probably feel right at home. Dollywood hosts seasonal festivals throughout the year — each bringing special food booths, limited-time menu items, and even tasting passes that let you sample multiple dishes. In fact, one of Dollywood’s biggest strengths is its festival food. Showstreet! Whether you’re visiting during Flower & Food Festival, Harvest Festival, Smoky Mountain Christmas, or another seasonal celebration, the festival booths are worth making part of your day. You’ll find rotating menus, creative seasonal dishes, desserts, drinks, and more! This is one of the best ways to experience a wide variety of Dollywood’s food. Aunt Granny’s Restaurant Is Southern Comfort Food Done Right If you’re looking for a classic Southern meal, Aunt Granny’s Restaurant is a fantastic option. The family-style restaurant serves plenty of “meat and three” favorites — giving you comforting Southern dishes without having to choose just one entrée. ©Dollywood Expect fried chicken, country-style vegetables, mashed potatoes, biscuits, and plenty of classic comfort food. Market Square BIG SKILLET Is a Dollywood Staple Even if you don’t eat here, you’ll almost certainly smell it. Market Square BIG SKILLET is famous throughout the park thanks to its giant skillets cooking potatoes and seasonal specialties right out in the open. The Pork Belly Bowl The menu rotates throughout the year depending on the festival, but the portions are generous, the meals are filling, and that incredible aroma is impossible to ignore. Twisted Dog! It’s quick, satisfying, and absolutely worth trying once. Trailhead Eats Has Surprisingly Great Festival Potatoes Trailhead Eats offers loaded baked potatoes that change with the seasons — meaning each festival may bring a unique culinary experience. The Braised Beef Potato They’re hearty enough to be a full meal and tend to be one of the better values inside the park. These locations are IDEAL for Picky Eaters Located outside the theme park, Till & Harvest Food Hall may not serve the absolute best meal you’ll have during your trip — but that’s not really the point. What it does offer is variety and safe choices for picky eaters. ©Dollywood If your family can’t agree on what to eat, this is an easy solution. There are plenty of familiar choices that make everyone happy — like burgers and chicken tenders –, and service is generally quick. It’s an especially convenient option after a long day in the parks when nobody wants to spend another hour deciding on dinner. Similar options include Dogs N Taters and Red’s Drive-In — the latter of which serves up underrated burgers. End the Day at High Note Lounge If you’re staying at Dollywood’s HeartSong Lodge & Resort, don’t rush back to your room after the park closes. Instead, stop by High Note Lounge. It’s one of our favorite relaxing spots and is loved by us for its quiet and comfortable atmosphere. It’s truly a great place to wind down with a nightcap and a late-night bite. High Note We especially love the Nachos with Shaved Prime Rib and Brick Oven Pimento Cheese Dip! Is it the single best restaurant at Dollywood? Probably not. But we can’t wait to go back nevertheless! Don’t Forget Spotlight Bakery Finally, you HAVE to save room for dessert! Spotlight Bakery serves some fantastic sweets throughout the day, and it’s also home to the park’s Starbucks location if you need a caffeine boost. Lavender Dream Cupcake First-time visitors often try to cram every coaster into one day — and we get it. But Dollywood’s food scene deserves just as much attention as its rides. There’s a lot more culinary variety here than many first-time guests expect, and we recommend indulging as best you can! We’ll continue to keep you posted on all kinds of Dollywood tips, tricks, updates, and reviews, so stay tuned right here at DFB for all the latest! 10. Ask any Disney World fan what EPCOT is known for, and you’ll get a dozen different answers — World Showcase, the festivals, the food. Hello from EPCOT! But over the past few years, EPCOT now has one of the strongest ride lineups in all of Disney World. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind alone can pull standby waits over an hour, Test Track keeps guests lining up to design and race their own concept car, and rides like Soarin’, Frozen Ever After, and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure round out a day that can easily be swallowed whole by lines rather than actual ride time. So what if there were a way to experience nearly all of it, back to back, with almost no wait at all? That trick is a Disney After Hours event ticket. These separately ticketed evening events are capped at a limited number of attendees, which means the park empties out dramatically once regular day guests head for the exits. We’ve seen firsthand just how empty EPCOT gets during these After Hours events, and the payoff is exactly what you’d hope for: wait times that stay remarkably low across the board, even on rides that are normally the hardest to access. EPCOT After Hours! That includes the headliners. It’s one of the only times you’ll catch Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind with a walk-on-friendly standby line, a ride that can otherwise require a costly Lightning Lane Single Pass just to experience once. With so few guests in the park, you can realistically ride Cosmic Rewind, Test Track, Soarin’, and Frozen Ever After all in the same night — and if a particular ride is calling your name, nothing is stopping you from hopping back in line and riding it two or three times before the night is over. EPCOT After Hours What’s Included (and When It Happens) Disney’s Disney After Hours event at EPCOT runs from 9:30 PM to 12:30 AM, but here’s the part a lot of people miss: guests holding an event ticket are allowed to enter the park as early as 7 PM. That means you can arrive well before the official start time, grab dinner or explore World Showcase while the park is still transitioning, and then settle in for three-plus hours of short lines once After Hours officially kicks off. Popcorn and water at EPCOT After Hours While subject to change, the attractions typically included are: Spaceship Earth Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Mission: SPACE Test Track Soarin’ Living with the Land The Seas with Nemo and Friends Gran Fiesta Tour Frozen Ever After Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure And the perks don’t stop at ride access. Your ticket also includes complimentary ice cream novelties, popcorn, and select drinks throughout the night — so you’re not just skipping lines, you’re getting snacks covered, too. Mickey’s Ice Cream Bar Upcoming Dates and Pricing Here’s what’s currently on the calendar: August 6 — $159.00 August 13 — $159.00 September 16 — $155.00 September 24 — $155.00 Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure But Is It Actually Worth the Cost? On the surface, $155–$159 per ticket sounds like a lot for an evening at the park. But run the numbers on the alternative, and the After Hours event starts to look like a genuine bargain. Let’s say you wanted similar ride access during regular EPCOT hours using paid Lightning Lane. An EPCOT Lightning Lane Multi Pass has recently priced out in the roughly $19–$37 per person range depending on the day, and that gets you just one Lightning Lane return time per attraction on your list — not Cosmic Rewind, though, since that ride isn’t part of Multi Pass. For that, you’d need to add a separate Lightning Lane Single Pass, which has recently run about $16–$22 per person for a single ride. Add those together, and you could easily spend $35–$55 per person just to ride a handful of attractions one time each — and you’d still be sharing the park (and the standby lines) with the full daytime crowd. After Hours check-in at EPCOT Compare that to an After Hours ticket: for roughly $155–$159 flat, you get hours of dramatically reduced wait times across nearly every major attraction in the park, the freedom to re-ride your favorites as many times as the clock allows, and free snacks on top of it. If you’re the type of family or friend group that wants to ride Cosmic Rewind, Test Track, and Frozen Ever After more than once in a night, the After Hours event can end up being the smarter — and sometimes even cheaper — way to experience EPCOT. EPCOT fireworks Between the shrunken crowds, the included snacks, and the ability to re-ride your favorite rides, it’s one of the most efficient ways to experience everything EPCOT has to offer. 11. When we’re at Disney World, there’s nothing we love more than staying at a Disney resort. It’s so convenient with complimentary transportation, early theme park entry, and great food that rivals the parks! Disney’s Contemporary Resort But the only thing we don’t like about the Disney World resorts? Construction! Something is always being refurbished, which can mean tons of construction noise at your hotel. If you’re planning a magical vacation soon, you might spot some construction happening, because Disney just filed construction permits for five hotels! Disney recently renovated the lobby of Pop Century Resort, but that’s not all of the construction hitting the hotel this year. Disney just filed a new permit for general construction work on the lobby at Pop Century Resort! Disney’s Pop Century Resort There’s also upcoming work on neighboring Art of Animation across the lake. Their lobby will also receive general construction work in the near future. Disney’s Art of Animation If you’re planning on exploring the wilderness this vacation, then your stay might be impacted, too. The Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge also have a new general construction permit! Disney’s Wilderness Lodge If you’re staying at Saratoga Springs, then we have some still bad but slightly better news. This new permit is for general construction work on an administration building, so it won’t be near your hotel room! You might still see or hear construction work if you’re staying nearby, though. Disney’s Saratoga Springs And for the fifth and final new permit, Disney quietly announced that the Contemporary Resort will receive general construction work soon. Disney’s Contemporary Resort Disney hasn’t yet announced when these construction projects will begin, or if they’ll cause any closures at the resorts, but when they do, we’ll be sure to update you. 12. A major reminder if you’re heading to Disney World in September — one of the resort’s parks is closing for refurbishment. The Surf Pool was crowded! The Typhoon Lagoon Water Park will be closed for its annual refurbishment beginning on September 9th, with its last scheduled day of operation on September 8th. Blizzard Beach will remain open during Typhoon Lagoon’s closure. Typhoon Lagoon’s closure will mark the end of a rare-for-this-decade summer season — the second in a row — where both Disney water parks have been open simultaneously. In recent years, the two parks had been operating on an alternating schedule where one would remain open while the other closed for refurbishment, then they’d swap. Typhoon Lagoon As part of the Cool Kids Summer promotion, Disney World Hotel guests have been able to enjoy free admission to their choice of Disney World water park on their check-in date. Not-so-coincidentally, Typhoon Lagoon’s closure comes the day after the promotion ends. Typhoon Lagoon Typhoon Lagoon first opened in 1989 as Disney World’s second water park — after the long-shuttered River Country. The park, which is themed to a tropical island ravaged by a typhoon, features a litany of attractions including slides, water coasters, and wave pools. Typhoon Lagoon It’s expected that when Typhoon Lagoon reopens, likely after several months of refurbishment, Blizzard Beach will then close for its own refurb. Disney has already confirmed that the Free Water Park Perk — and likely both water parks being open simultaneously — will return in the summer of 2027. Typhoon Lagoon While Typhoon Lagoon may be closed during your Fall 2026 trip to Disney World, the resort’s restaurants will be alive and humming. Between the reviews, menus, and reservation strategies, it’s a lot to sort through. Our Guide to Disney World Dining pulls it all together so you can stop stressing and focus on the fun without feeling like you’re missing a thing! Typhoon Lagoon Typhoon Lagoon is set to close in just a matter of weeks for the near-40-year-old water park’s annual refurbishment. 13. If you’ve ever been on a flight in economy where you’ve been trying to sleep, you likely know just how uncomfortable those seats can be. ©Emirates Some people seem to be able to sleep anywhere and can fall asleep on a dime in nearly any position in the seat, but for the rest of us, it often feels impossible to get comfortable. The thin seat headrest on most planes doesn’t help, as it doesn’t really support your head in any way. That’s all changing on Emirates planes, though, because the airline has just introduced new headrests in economy that may make sleeping way more comfortable. According to People, Emirates has now rolled out a new headrest in economy class that will make flying way more comfortable. It’s called the U-Dream Headrest, and it officially debuted on July 20th. The headrest is padded to provide comfort all over and features flexible side wings that can fold inward to cradle the head and neck. No more falling forward or to the side while you sleep and waking up with a horrible crick in your neck. ©Emirates The headrest also moves vertically and can tilt to better match the customer sitting in the seat, which is a relief. It’s also tested and verified to meet the standards set by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency. The addition is currently available on three of the company’s Airbus A350 aircraft, and the company is working to install them on the entire A350 fleet by the end of the year. Emirates also recently ordered 270 Boeing 777X aircraft, and the headrest will come pre-installed on each one. Beginning in 2027, the company will retrofit most of its Airbus A380s and Boeing 777s. ©Emirates This will certainly make flying on long-haul flights in economy much more comfortable, and it steps above other airlines that are looking to increase comfort on board by adding new types of seats, but at a higher cost to consumers. 17. We can’t believe we’re saying this, but it was a mostly quiet week in Disney World! Old Key West Dock We’re not taking that for granted, especially considering the month of August is about to be intense. We’ll be at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event earlier in the month, followed quickly by the first nights of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Oogie Boogie Bash, and then we’ve got EPCOT’s International Food & Wine Festival to finish up. If you’re heading to Disney World soon, though, there is a new change you need to know about, on top of all the existing closures. If you’re staying at Disney’s Old Key West Resort, you need to know that travel is about to get a little harder. Starting on July 20th, the boat dock at the resort closed, and will remain unavailable through early August. However, as a heads up, we’ve seen other refurbishments like this take longer than anticipated, so it’s possible it could be closed longer. Closed! Let’s take a look at all the current closures taking place in Disney World from July 24th through July 31st. Magic Kingdom Carousel of Progress Carousel of Progress closed on July 6th to undergo a major refurbishment. The work will include completely revamping the scenes in the attraction to make them more modern and represent more recent parts of history, as well as adding a new Walt Disney animatronic at the opening. ©Disney Currently, the attraction is set to reopen in 2027, though no official date has been set yet. Big Top Souvenirs Big Top Souvenirs closed on February 20th, and Disney has said it’ll “reopen for guests to enjoy later this year,” but there’s no date in sight. When we stopped by recently, we saw that the big top has FINALLY been added back to the shop, which is a relief! The tent is back! We’re really curious to see how this all turns out, so we’ll keep you updated! Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island An iconic part of the Magic Kingdom is now permanently closed. As of July 7th, 2025, the Rivers of America, including the Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island, are permanently closed to make way for the new Cars area, Piston Peak. There are lots of construction walls up in the area now, and the structures on Tom Sawyer Island have been demolished. Most recently, we saw a new addition to one of the old boat docks, as a shed-like structure has now been added to the boat dock near Memento Mori. A new building? Piston Peak National Park will be replacing this area of the Magic Kingdom. Disney has not yet announced an opening date for the new Cars area, but we do know it will feature two brand-new attractions and be themed to look like a National Park. CONFIRMED: The Hardest Lightning Lane to Book in Magic Kingdom Is NOT What You Think Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Parts of) Animation Courtyard Animation Courtyard closed on September 25th, 2025, to make way for Walt Disney Studios. The courtyard area, new Disney Jr. show, and meet and greet station for Sofia the First and SupeKitties officially opened on May 26th. Star Wars Launch Bay will be turned into The Magic of Disney Animation. This attraction will have you interacting and exploring with this fun take on Disney Animation headquarters, complete with the return of the Sorcerer Mickey hat! The Magic of Disney Animation in Walt Disney Studios This area will also feature a new Drawn to Wonderland indoor play area that we can’t wait to see! Now, we know the rest of The Walt Disney Studios will open on September 14th. Muppets Courtyard Muppet*Vision 3D and PizzeRizzo closed on June 8th, 2025, and Muppets Courtyard has been walled off for construction on the new Monsters, Inc. land. Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano has been closed since May 11th, 2025. Most recently, Disney released new information about Monstropolis, saying that “Monstropolis — the monster city now powered by laughter — is getting ready to give humans a glimpse of what’s been hidden from their world for generations. Which raises an interesting question: if humans were never meant to enter the monster world … why are the doors finally opening to us?” ©Disney We’ll get to explore their world during H.U.M.A.N. Day, or “Humans Understand Monsters Are Nice” Day, with Disney continuing to say, “Human guests will have the chance to explore the city, meet its citizens, taste unique cuisine, and step into the everyday world of monsters in a totally new way. For the first time, two worlds once separated are meeting face to scaly, furry, and fang-filled face – brought together not by screams, but by laughter.” ©Disney It’s also been fully confirmed that Harryhausen’s will be one of the restaurants in the new land, which we’re beyond excited to experience. Most recently, we saw TONS of scaffolding and outdoor work being done on nearly all the buildings visible from inside the park — it looks like Disney is hard at work! Tons of scaffolding! If you’re missing The Muppets, you can go visit them at Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets right now! 2 Popular Disney World Nighttime Shows Are CHANGING EPCOT La Signature La Signature, one of the stores located in the France Pavilion, closed for refurbishment on June 30th. La Signature closed The store specializes in French cosmetics and fragrances from Guerlain. During the closure, if you’re looking to buy Guerlain products, they’ll be temporarily available at the nearby Plume Et Palette. Sections of Germany Pavilion On July 13th, both the guest bathrooms in the Germany Pavilion and the majority of the Volkskunst store in EPCOT’s Germany Pavilion closed for refurbishment. Totally closed While a Cast Member did tell us the store closure was to fix the Cast Member bathrooms out of sight, Disney has not revealed a reopening date for the store or the public bathrooms. REVIEW: We Spent $14 on a Baked Potato at Disney World…And We’d Do It Again! Disney’s Animal Kingdom DinoLand, USA On February 2nd, DinoLand, USA, officially closed to make way for the new Tropical Americas land, Pueblo Esperanza. Most recently, we noticed that large cranes are in the area to adjust the roofs of existing buildings, likely to keep them in theme. Lots of work! We can also see lots of work happening at the front of the new Indiana Jones ride! Recently, Disney revised the permit they filed last August for this ride, and the new Notice of Commencement permit renews the installation through April 2027. via @bioreconstruct This new land is shaping up nicely! It will have three new rides – a carousel featuring classic Disney animals, an Indiana Jones ride where you’ll explore a Mayan temple, and an Encanto ride that invites you into the Madrigals’ home. We can’t wait to continue to see how it all shapes up. REVIEW: Disney World Keeps Making Ice Cream Better, and This Is PROOF Disney World Hotels Boat Dock — Disney’s Old Key West Resort Starting on July 20th, Disney closed the boat transportation at Old Key West Resort, called Sassagoula River Cruise. These boats usually go to Disney Springs, so now, you’ll need to take a bus instead. Old Key West Dock Right now, the closure is expected to last through early August. Boat Dock — Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Starting on May 11th, the Boat Dock at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort became unavailable for guests to use due to refurbishment. The dock is closed! Boat transportation was unavailable through June 5th, but has now reopened. Construction on the dock as a whole was set to continue through late June, but has now continued into July. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa This hotel has been undergoing refurbishments for quite some time now, but some sections of the hotel — specifically the porte cochere — will continue to undergo refurbishment through at least early 2027. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort We certainly hope it’ll actually reopen on this timeline — we’re a little tired of seeing construction all over this beautiful hotel! Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort Currently, work is taking place all over Bay Lake Tower through Late 2027. Bay Lake Tower While currently no major closures are taking place due to this construction, it’s important to note that you may see or hear construction during your stay. Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort For those looking to dine at this hotel, you need to know that the Turf Club Bar & Grill and Turf Club Lounge will both be under refurbishment from mid-March through mid-September 2026. Turf Club Bar & Grill In early April, the Turf Club Lounge will close for refurbishment and will reopen in early August. In the meantime, the Turf Club Bar & Grill will remain open with a pop-up bar serving a modified Lounge food and beverage menu. Then, from early to mid-August, the Turf Club patio will close for refurbishment, and finally, from mid-August through mid-September, the Turf Club Bar & Grill will be closed for refurbishment, but the Turf Club Lounge will be open. Leisure Pools — Disney’s Yacht Club Resort and Disney’s Beach Club Resort Disney’s Yacht Club and Disney’s Beach Club Resort are currently undergoing visible exterior maintenance. The maintenance could affect views and may require alternate routes at times. In addition, two of the resort’s leisure pools will close for routine maintenance. Tidal Pool At Disney’s Yacht Club, the Admiral leisure pool will be closed for maintenance through early May 2026. At Disney’s Beach Club, the Tidal leisure pool will be closed for maintenance through early May 2026. Guests may see or hear construction work, but it will only be done during the daytime hours. Yachtsman Steakhouse — Disney’s Yacht Club Resort On May 11th, Yachtsman Steakhouse officially closed for refurbishment. Yachtsman Steakhouse Recently, it was revealed that reservations for this restaurant are now available beginning on August 28th! Promenade Fine Art Gallery — Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and Resort The Promenade Fine Art Gallery closed its Disney’s BoardWalk location on October 20th, 2025. However, the Promenade Fine Art Gallery isn’t closing for good, and it will just be moving to a new location. Promenade Fine Art Gallery Disney just filed permits for the BoardWalk titled “Project Amazon” and “Project Bubbles” earlier this year, and now that we have a bit more information on them, we’re thinking that this currently vacant spot could soon become the home of the new Basin on the BoardWalk store on its way! The shop will be rooted in the resort’s classic boardwalk heritage and will offer a sensory shopping experience that is described as “both timeless and distinctly new.” Jellyrolls — Disney’s BoardWalk Jellyrolls at Disney’s BoardWalk officially closed on April 19th, 2025. This entertainment venue has provided our team with countless memories, and we know many others are also sad to see it close. Jellyrolls had its final farewell performance on April 19th. 2025 and closed its doors forever on Disney’s BoardWalk. It was just recently revealed, though, that a new lounge will be coming to the BoardWalk! ©Disney The new lounge will be called Hurly-Burly and will be a “fun-filled afternoons and glamorous evenings inside a historic seaside theatre with a vibrant BoardWalk story that spans over a century.” Based on the concept art revealed, it’s looking like the former JellyRolls building would be the best fit for this spot, but we’re also waiting to see where the new quick-service restaurant announced for the BoardWalk will be going! 23. When it comes to dining at Disney World, you’ve got a TON of options. Want something quick and easy? You’ve got it. Something middle of the road and comforting? Yep, that too. And if you’re looking for somewhere to grab drinks, you can find that as well. Outer Rim Speaking of which, we recently stopped by the Outer Rim at Disney’s Contemporary Resort to see what was cookin’, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is it worth a stop on your next trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth? Find out here! Atmosphere The Outer Rim is a great place to go for a pre-dinner drink or to have a relaxing evening right in the middle of all the action of the Contemporary Resort’s 4th Floor Grand Canyon Concourse. There’s nothing particularly special about the location, and to be honest, it kind of reminds us of an airport bar, but it’s a great spot to grab a quick drink before dinner or fireworks. Outer Rim You’ll find this comfortable spot right by Chef Mickey’s and Contempo Cafe — two high-energy eateries. Meanwhile, you can also enjoy views of the activity on Bay Lake below, including the Electrical Water Pageant at night! Outer Rim But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu You can indulge in one of the Outer Rim’s draft beers, wines, bourbons, martinis, or specialty cocktails while you’re here, but keep in mind that there are no food items on the menu here. You’ll also find non-alcoholic drinks here, too. If you’re craving a bite to eat, stop by the nearby Contempo Cafe or make a reservation for one of the many table service restaurants at the Contemporary! Outer Rim menu And now, onto the main event — the food! Drinks To drink, we picked up the Blackberry-Orange Spritz for $17.50. This comes with Ketel One Botanical Peach & Orange Blossom Vodka, Rockey’s Botanical Liqueur, Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc, and Blackberry Purée. Blackberry Orange Spritz Our first sip was pure Sauvignon Blanc — so we’d definitely recommend stirring this before you drink it. Luckily, after we stirred, this drink turned into a delightfully light, fruity spritz. You can taste the wine on the back end of every sip, while the peach and orange blossom vodka and botanical liqueur add some floral notes. We love that the blackberry lends a tartness to each sip. This would be a great cocktail for a hot day and a great alternative to sangria or an Aperol spritz. If you’re a fan of light, easy-to-drink cocktails, this is a great choice. Blackberry Orange Spritz We also grabbed the Island Fusion Punch, which is available for $16.50. This is made with Mount Gay Eclipse Rum, Minute Maid® Passion Fruit Orange Guava Juice, and Pineapple and Lime Juices. Island Fusion Punch This is SO easy to sip, it could be dangerous. It’s tropical, fruity, and everything you want in a vacation-style cocktail, and the addition of the POG juice just makes it taste like it was born to be a Disney World drink. What’s a Disney vacation without a little POG juice? It was slightly sweet, so if you’re averse to sweet drinks, this might not be for you — but don’t let that scare you off. It’s not sickly sweet, and is still light and refreshing. We’d definitely order this again and again! The fruit means it’s healthy, right? So, is the Outer Rim worth a stop on your trip to Disney World? Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if you… Want an easy monorail-area lounge with a view. Outer Rim sits right on the Contemporary’s Grand Canyon Concourse with floor-to-ceiling windows over Bay Lake—perfect for a calm pre/post-park sip without an ADR. Want a pre- or post–Magic Kingdom pit stop. Roll off the monorail, grab a drink, and decompress a few steps from Chef Mickey’s and Contempo Café. Hours typically run afternoon into late night, but do check day-of. Want cocktails without the fuss. This is a drinks-first lounge: margaritas, mules, classics, beer, and wine—think Blood Orange Margarita, Piña CoLava, Pineapple Mule and more. Simple, reliable, and close. Need extra seating spillover When Contempo Café gets busy, guests sometimes find seats in Outer Rim (especially in the evenings). Handy for a quick reset. You should skip this Disney World spot if you… Want a meal with your drinks. The menu = beverages; food is very limited, if any. If you’re hungry, plan to go to Contempo Café or Steakhouse 71 instead. Are counting on the Dining Plan. Dining Plan credits aren’t accepted here. Bring a card or mobile wallet. Are chasing fireworks views or big energy. The lounge faces Bay Lake (not Cinderella Castle), and seating is small and first-come—great for quiet conversation, not for fireworks or large groups. Overall If you think of Outer Rim as a true hotel lobby bar, you won’t be disappointed. If you’re expecting the grand theming and vibes of more exciting Disney World lounges like Trader Sam’s or Beak & Barrel, well, you might be setting yourself up for disappointment. It’s not necessarily a destination, but a stop on your way to your destination — whether it be dinner, fireworks, or an evening in Magic Kingdom. The cocktails and service here are excellent, though, and if it’s just a drink with a view you’re after, we think you’ll find Outer Rim fits the bill just fine. Outer Rim In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond. Make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news and more! 27. When it comes to deciding where to stay during a Disney World vacation, transportation to the resort’s four theme parks should always be a factor. Of course, Disney has its own massive transportation infrastructure, offering a system of buses, boats, Monorails, and Skyliner gondolas connecting their 30+ hotels with the parks. However, there are other options for those staying at a non-Disney-owned hotel. The shuttle This includes shuttle service provided to guests at the Wyndham Garden Lake Buena Vista, located in the Disney Springs Resort Area. However, there is one massive rule guests need to know about this transportation. Unlike Disney World’s internal buses, guests staying at the Wyndham Garden Lake Buena Vista need to book their specific shuttle time slot beforehand. Fear not, however; we found reserving the shuttle pretty easy. Reservations are made on your phone through the Fabulous Buses service website. While they cost $14, a code from Wyndham gets you a free ride. Shuttles go to the parks on the hour, every hour, and every half hour back from the parks. So, how does the reservation system work? Step one: On the Fabulous Buses website, you’ll select the hotel… ©Fabulous Buses …scroll through Disney World’s theme parks to select the one you want to visit… ©Fabulous Buses …then select the number of riders… ©Fabulous Buses …insert your information, guest status, and the promo code provided by the hotel to waive the $14 charge… ©Fabulous Buses …and choose your designated return time (note here you can see the $14 savings after putting the code in)… ©Fabulous Buses … and voila, your shuttle trip is booked! ©Fabulous Buses While needing to reserve a specific shuttle time may seem like an extra step, doing so provides a more structured experience than arriving at a Disney bus stop not knowing how long until the next bus arrives or how long the line is waiting for you. Of course, this also means you’ll need to be on time to make your reservation, admittedly a factor that doesn’t come into play when using a Disney bus. The shuttle If you’re considering staying at the Wyndham Garden Lake Buena Vista in the Disney Springs Resort Area, be aware that you’ll have to handle transportation just a wee bit differently than you may be used to. 28. The high cost of travel has started to affect theme park attendance at Universal Orlando, and it’s important to keep an eye on these trends to see how it may affect other theme parks in the area or your travel plans. Universal Orlando What does this exactly mean for your upcoming trip? Let’s break it all down. According to Deadline, Comcast, the company that owns Universal, has confirmed that its second quarter numbers showed softening attendance trends in Orlando. This is a trend that co-CEO Mike Cavanagh said has continued into the third quarter and is “driven by some weakness in consumer sentiment and higher travel costs.” It was highlighted, though, that these trends are temporary and are not at all a permanent change in the outlook. Epic Universe When speaking to analysts on a recent call, Cavanaugh continued by saying, “We continue to see continued consumer appeal and satisfaction, and all the things we look at, as it relates to the excitement people have about our parks.” These comments come as Brent crude prices just pushed past $100 per barrel for the first time in months, squeezing an already-tight oil market, which has been making travel more expensive overall. Islands of Adventure Universal Executives on the call did highlight that they’re very happy with Epic Universe, the newest park, but Cavanaugh warned that this drop is hitting Orlando as a whole, not just Universal Orlando parks. Over at Universal Studios Hollywood, CFO Jason Armstrong noted that “results improved as we began to lap the initial pressure we experienced last year,” but confirmed that they’re not expecting to see a real improvement until the new Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift coaster opens later this year. Meanwhile, Universal Studios Osaka is still seeing issues due to the China-related travel restrictions to Japan, though foreign ministers of both countries met to talk at a regional conference this week for the first time since the argument that started the fallout in November 2025.
