Oh Epic Universe. It’s been over a year since you opened, and we still love every part of you. We especially love what’s to come. Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment While Universal Orlando hasn’t announced anything officially coming to the parks, the permits and construction sites don’t lie. Thanks to our friend at Bioreconstruct, we got a new look at what’s happening at some nearby construction sites for Epic Universe, and it’s starting to look like… something! This construction site is by Dark Universe, the Universal Monsters-themed area of Epic Universe. Again, while Universal hasn’t officially said what it will be, the structure and rumors are pointing to another attraction. Right now, they are clearing the site. Since it’s storm season in Florida, there’s been a lot of rain, and you can see the construction equipment deep in it. What’s at Dark Universe right now? Well, I’m so glad you asked! Right now, you can ride Curse of the Werewolf, which is a spinning roller coaster… Curse of the Werewolf …or Monsters Unchained, which takes you into Dr. Frankenstein’s manor to see all the monsters hiding throughout the house. It has some of the coolest animatronics, and they get you so close you can see every detail. Frankenstein’s Monster We love the food at Dark Universe, too. Das Stakehaus is a vampire-run restaurant with some very creepy dishes (that are strangely good). Fish on a Stake The Burning Blade Tavern is where the monster hunters hang out and has Burning Cheddar Bites and Hunter’s Garlic Stake that we still dream about all the time. Full spread at The Burning Blade Tavern Since Universal hasn’t officially announced what’s coming to the construction site, we’re still guessing, but an attraction seems like a strong possibility right now. They’re also working to expand other parts of Epic Universe, and rumors suggest there might be more portals to explore. In the meantime, we’re bringing you all the Epic Universe and Universal news you need for future trips, so keep following DFB for updates. The 2026 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival has been feeding us since August, so by October, you’d think we’d have our favorites pretty well locked down. You would be wrong… 2026 Food and Wine Festival Disney saved FOUR Marketplace booths for a later opening, and when The Alps, Coastal Eats, India, and Earth Eats finally joined the party on October 2nd, we did what we always do: We ate EVERYTHING. And one booth came dangerously close to rearranging our entire Best of the Fest hierarchy. The Alps Came Ready To Fight If you’ve been going to the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival for a while, The Alps probably doesn’t need much of an introduction. This returning booth has built quite the reputation around one particular substance: Melted cheese. We appreciate a booth that knows its brand. 2026 Booth But The Alps didn’t just coast into EPCOT on the reputation of its famous Raclette this year. Disney changed up that longtime favorite AND added a brand-new dish that ended up being our favorite thing on the menu. That’s how you make a late entrance. The Raclette Got a Makeover The Warm Raclette Swiss Cheese on a Baguette with Jambon and Apple-Mustard Relish costs $6.79 and is one of the festival’s special 30th Anniversary Legacy Items. In previous years, you may remember the Raclette piled onto baby potatoes, sometimes with Alpine ham. This version goes in a different direction, putting that glorious molten cheese onto crunchy baguette with jambon and apple-mustard relish. Warm Raclette Swiss Cheese on a Baguette with Jambon and Apple-Mustard Relish The Raclette itself is hearty, nutty, funky, and VERY present. This is not a shy cheese. The baguette brings the crunch, the meat adds another savory layer, and that apple relish is exactly what the dish needs to cut through all that richness. Yes, cheese will probably ooze out when you bite into it, and that’s one of the reasons why we love it. But THIS Was Our Favorite Then came the newcomer. The Tartiflette costs $5.49 and combines potatoes gratin, caramelized onions, bacon, thyme, crème fraîche, and brie cheese. Read that ingredient list again if you need a moment. 2026 EPCOT Food and Wine Festival eats The potatoes were cooked just right, staying firm enough to hold their shape without wandering into undercooked territory. The crème fraîche and brie made the whole thing creamy and rich without turning it into a bowl of cheese sludge, while the caramelized onions brought everything together. This was easily our favorite dish at The Alps — which is saying something because it was pitted against our beloved raclette! The Tartiflette And at $5.49, it’s also the kind of festival portion we love because you can try it without spending half your EPCOT snack budget on one tiny plate. Bonus: Both the Tartiflette and Raclette count toward Emile’s Fromage Montage, so your devotion to cheese can also earn you a prize. Finally, a loyalty program we can get behind. Save Room for Dessert The Kirschwasser Torte returned this year for $5.49, with layers of cake, cherry-brandy buttercream, fondant, sugared almonds, and cherry compote. Because two excellent dishes just weren’t enough. Kirschwasser Torte The cake was moist without falling apart, the cherry buttercream worked beautifully between the layers, and the toasted almonds added some much-needed crunch. We called this one a home run, too. Three food dishes. Three strong performances. The Alps isn’t playing around this year. How Did the Other New Booths Compare? To be clear, October 2nd was a GOOD day to be hungry in EPCOT. Coastal Eats was another major winner. The Crab Cake brought high-quality crab, crunch, sweet tropical chutney, and a little mustard heat, while the Seafood Pot Pie packed shrimp, scallops, and lobster bisque under flaky puff pastry. Seafood fans should absolutely circle this booth. Coastal Eats Dishes India also knocked it out of the park again with its Potato and Pea Samosas, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Mango Lassi. The portions were solid for the prices, the food was reliable, and that Mango Lassi remains one of those festival drinks we’ll happily order every time. Full India Booth Spread 2026 Earth Eats had a surprise winner in its new Lemon-Almond-Olive Oil Cake, but the rest of the booth didn’t reach the same level. Good? Sure. One of the first places we’d send you? Not this year. Lemon Almond Olive Oil Cake The Alps is the booth that gave us the best combination of hits. Yep, Add This One to Your Food & Wine List When we originally put together our Best of the Fest picks for the 2026 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival, these later-opening booths hadn’t even had their chance to enter the arena yet. Now they have, and The Alps deserves a spot in the conversation. The Alps If you only grab one thing, make it the Tartiflette. If you have room for two, add the Raclette. And if you somehow manage to walk away without getting melted cheese somewhere on your person, you have shown considerably more restraint than we did. The Full Spread at the Alps The 2026 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival runs through November 21st, so there’s still time to work The Alps into your Festival plans. And keep following DFB because we’ll keep eating our way through EPCOT, revisiting favorites, spotting menu changes, and letting you know exactly what deserves your precious Disney snack money. Food tastes better when it’s Mickey-shaped. That’s just a fact. Waffle time! Disney World obviously has a lot of Mickey-shaped food, and we’re pretty dan gobsessed. From ice cream bars to cookies and waffles, we’ve eaten it all, and science has proven that it tastes better in the mouse shape. Well, Disney World added new Mickey waffles at different stops around the resort, and we’re trying them to see if our Mickey-Shaped Science holds up! First up, we grabbed the Mickey-shaped Strawberry Waffles from Everything Pop at Disney’s Pop Century Resort. They cost $12.59 and come with creamy vanilla custard, bacon, and sausage. Mickey-shaped Strawberry Waffles This is a fun, fresh take on classic Mickey waffles! The vanilla custard reminded us of an éclair filling and was really creamy. It sticks to the waffle easily, and the strawberry pairs well with the vanilla; there isn’t really enough vanilla to make it pop on its own, so we’re glad the strawberry is there. The strawberries taste great and add freshness and flavor. We wish there were more strawberries for the three waffles, and you might want to grab some syrup too, since they might feel a bit dry once you finish the toppings. The sausage and bacon make it a filling meal, too. We loved the strawberry Then we headed to Landscape of Flavors at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort for the Character-shaped Birthday Cake Waffles for $12.59. They feature birthday cake custard, cake crumbs, and rainbow sprinkles served with bacon and sausage. Character-shaped Birthday Cake Waffles Okay, these aren’t Mickey-shaped waffles because they technically show other characters, but it’s still Disney, so it’s still fun. We could barely tell which character was on them because of all the toppings! The birthday cake custard adds moisture and sweetness, but we wished for something to cut through it. There’s just enough custard for one bite. Sprinkles The crumbles on top looked pretty but didn’t have the strongest flavor, and they added an unexpected, strange crunch that felt a bit stale. The bacon and sausage were our saving grace, cutting through the sweetness, and we liked that; we think this could be a shareable breakfast (but be warned: it’s full of sugar!). It doesn’t need to be your birthday to enjoy these Check out these Mickey-shaped Caramel Banana Waffles for $12.59! They’re from End Zone Food Court at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort, topped with streusel and served with bacon and sausage. Caramel Bananas There is SO much caramel. Like, so much. But we have to admit that might be just what we needed. The waffles were crispy and delicious, and while the caramel sauce was sweet, it was only poured on the bottom of the plate, not over the top, so it wasn’t all over. You can decide how much caramel you want to eat! The bananas were sweet and ripe, adding a different flavor and texture to the dish, and they go perfectly with the caramel, as we expected. Once again, the bacon and sausage cut through the sweetness with their saltiness, since this dish has quite a bit of sugar. It’s a great way to start out your Disney day. Caramel Banana We have to admit, it took us a few days to get through all these waffles because there were so many, but there are more to try! We went to World Premier Food Court at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort and grabbed the Mickey-shaped Candy Bar Waffles for $12.59. They’re served with cookie bar pieces, caramel and chocolate sauce, bacon, and sausage. Candy Bar Waffles Wait, where are the cookie bar pieces? Unfortunately, they were out of the cookie bar pieces, so it was more of a candy bar waffle, but there were still sauces to enjoy. The chocolate sauce was thick but not too sweet and reminded us of chocolate fudge. The caramel sauce felt fresh and reminded us of melted-down caramel hard candies. Each waffle is dipped in the sauces, and the actual waffle is crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. You get three, plus some sides, to keep you full for breakfast. These weren’t quite as sweet as the pictures, but they were missing the candy that might have taken them to the top of sweetness. We love a Mickey shaped waffle We also headed to Intermission Food Court at Disney’s All-Star Music Resort for the Mickey-shaped Fruit Cereal Waffles. They cost $12.59 and come with creamy vanilla custard, fruit cereal, bacon, and sausage. Fruit Cereal Waffles Another fun twist! The Mickey waffles are soft and fluffy inside and not quite as crunchy on the outside as we prefer, and the vanilla custard adds a fun sweetness. The custard and fruit cereal create a sweet, fruity flavor with bursts of crunch, and while the cereal isn’t in every bite, there’s enough to add textural contrast. The custard has a great, creamy, smooth, pudding-like texture. The bacon and sausage are another great addition, making the meal a little bigger and easier to share, and keeping you full throughout your morning. Inside Should you grab these fun new waffles? If you’re already looking for Mickey waffles, these can be a perfect way to start your Disney day! Mickey waffles are usually crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and they’re super nostalgic while still being a filling breakfast. These new waffle dishes are a fun twist on the classic, and if you’ve had Mickey waffles a hundred times, it’s fun to switch it up and try your favorite under a new style. Most are pretty sweet, so get ready for sugar overload! Keep following Disney Food Blog for more food reviews you need to know before your next Disney World vacation. Well, we won’t be sailing down the river with dinosaurs at Universal Orlando anytime soon; that’s for sure. Jurassic Park River Adventure Jurassic Park River Adventure is located at Islands of Adventure, and the ride has been closed for refurbishment since January 5th of this year. Yes, that means we’ve been without it for almost the ENTIRE year, and we’ve been really looking forward to getting it back in November. Well, now we’re all feeling a bit disappointed, because as it turns out, the closure has been extended. The ride was originally scheduled to be closed through November 19th, making November 20th its first day of operation — just in time for Thanksgiving week travelers. However, that’s no longer the case, as the Universal website now has the closure listed to last until December 16th, 2026, now making the reopening date December 17th. ©Universal This means it’s opening almost an entire month later, and also means that, if it opens on this new timeline and doesn’t get pushed again, that we’ll only have had a grand total of 19 days to experience this attraction this year. It’s also completely possible that the timeline DOES get pushed again, in which case, we’ll have even fewer days to ride. Jurassic Park River Adventure closure Jurassic Park River Adventure is a water ride that sends riders on a raft adventure through the dinosaur enclosure, but things very quickly start to go south. You’ll come face to face with one of the most terrifying dinosaurs of all, and in order to escape, you have to take an 85-foot plunge that will very likely get you soaked. It’s fun, it’s thrilling, and yes, we’ve really been missing it. Jurassic Park River Adventure Thankfully, there are two other water rides to check out at Islands of Adventure: Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls, which is a similar log flume ride experience, and Popeye and Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges, which is a river rapids ride that will also get you absolutely soaked. Dudley Do-Right’s RipSaw Falls The remainder of Jurassic Park also remains open, which means you’ll have no problem accessing and riding VelociCoaster and Pteranodon Flyers. A MAJOR change recently took place inside the Disney World parks regarding single rider lines, and it’s safe to say that guests are NOT pleased. Taking away something beloved never bodes well, especially when it cuts down wait times. Expedition Everest Single Rider Entrance The single rider line at Expedition Everest was recently removed, leaving only the standby or Lightning Lane entrances available. Which leads us to the question: Will Disney be phasing out ALL of the single rider lines? While it’s not confirmed, people still have their worries… Let’s start with the single rider lines currently available in Disney World: Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets — Hollywood Studios Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run — Hollywood Studios Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance — Hollywood Studios Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure — EPCOT Test Track — EPCOT Sometimes Soarin’ in EPCOT and Space Mountain in Magic Kingdom will have single rider lines as well, but that all depends on the day and the crowd levels. Single Rider Line at Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure Some of these lines are more efficient than others. Why? Well, it all depends on the number of seats each ride vehicle holds. It’s less likely that a ride with an even number of seats will utilize the single rider line than a ride with an odd number of seats since there are many more even-numbered groups than odd. This means rides like Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will have a longer single rider line since they seat an even number of guests (two, six, and eight, respectively). Single Rider Line at Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance However, since Smugglers Run and Rise of the Resistance seat more guests, the line moves more efficiently than Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, which only seats two. For example, if there is a group of two, a group of four, and the following group is more than two, you’ll likely get onto the ride from there. And when it comes to Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and Test Track, those lines move the most efficiently since they seat an odd number of guests (three in each row). Single Rider at Test Track Which leads us to the question: Will Disney be phasing out ALL of the single rider lines? Disney has yet to confirm anything, but it is entirely possible, especially with Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. Expedition Everest now operates on an odd-even line system where guests will be split up into lines of odd and even numbers, similar to Slinky Dog Dash and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. Single Rider Sign at Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is the only ride with a single rider line left that seats two guests per row. Transitioning from having a single rider line to forming lines of odd and even parties could run much more efficiently, especially since they have the space for it. Right before guests head into the preshow, they could be split up by party size and into separate lines. For example, even-numbered parties would go to where the general line is, and odd-numbered parties would go where the single riders currently stand. G-Force Records When it comes to the other attractions with single rider lines, it is less likely that Disney will get rid of them since they run more efficiently. Since there are more even-numbered groups than odd, it would make more sense for the Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and Test Track single rider lines to stick around. And since both Star Wars attractions operate at a higher capacity per vehicle, those could remain, as well, especially with Smugglers Run testing a doubles line. Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run Queue And when it comes to what guests think about the removal of the Expedition Everest single rider line, they have THOUGHTS! We received a plethora of comments on our Instagram and Facebook pages about this change, and over 95% of them were speaking negatively about the removal, including Jennifer Leigh, who wrote, “NOT COOL. It’s my favorite ride; one time my husband and I used the Single Rider lane to ride it several times in a row.” The Single Rider Sign at Expedition Everest has been removed! Quite a few solo travelers commented, as well, including Heather McGowan, who said, “Sucks, I travel alone and use single rider lines to avoid the main line packed with groups of people,” and Michelle Bradley, commenting, “As a solo traveler, this sucks!” @just.cat.dreaming also joined in on the conversation as a solo rider, writing, “I know it’s supposedly helpful with this new loading process, but as someone who almost exclusively does WDW solo…the single rider lines are soooo helpful.” No more single rider line! Some guests even took it personally, like @bae.lyy, who commented, “Sooooo they’re ruining my life,” and @fallingquinnlove, who wrote, “so you hate me?” @chadcheloo “may never go to animal kingdom again!” That’s quite the commitment! And @hunter.c.ridley actually thinks Disney World needs MORE single rider queues instead of taking them away! Single Rider Line Disney World just implemented a MAJOR change regarding their single rider lines, and guests are worried that it may impact other attractions! While Disney has yet to confirm anything, it’s entirely possible that we could see the removal of more of these lines. You just got to your Disney World hotel with your suitcases in hand. After checking out of your room, you have one mission: a trip to Disney Springs! We love coming here on our arrival days, grabbing some dinner and doing some shopping. As you head to the boat deck, you get hit with a closure, making it a bit harder to get to Disney Springs! Ah! Old Key West Dock Disney World transportation is a huge perk of going to the parks, and we love getting direct transportation from the hotels. While every resort has buses, some resorts have additional options like the monorail, Skyliner, and boats, but right now, a closure is here AGAIN, and it can throw a wrench in your Disney World trip. The boat service from Disney’s Old Key West to Disney Springs is temporarily closed. The Saassagoula River Cruise will be unavailable from October 12th to November 1st. Bus transportation to Disney Springs will be available during this time. Gurgling Suitcase outdoor seating This might sound familiar, because it was also closed from late July to early August for dock refurbishment. It seems like there’s more work to do! Closed! While we recommend taking the available buses, you can also walk if the weather is nice. It takes about 45 minutes, so it’s a bit of a journey, but Florida’s weather is famous for a reason (though you might want to bring rain gear if you see clouds in the distance). Disney Springs Does this mean you should switch to a hotel other than Old Key West? Not necessarily! If it’s a family favorite, there’s no reason to skip it, but if you’ve been looking forward to easy boat transportation and plan a trip or two to Disney Springs, you might want to consider another option. You likely won’t go to Disney Springs more than once during your trip (hey, you can! You probably just want to spend more time in the parks!), so it might not put too much of a damper on your day. We’ve said it before, and you’ll hear us say it 14 million more times — construction is ALL OVER Disney World, and that’s not stopping anytime soon. So, yes, get used to seeing all those walls and lovely green bushes in basically every park and numerous hotels, because they’ll be sticking around for the foreseeable future. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge has been the home of some pretty large refurbishment projects for the past few months, and while part of it is complete and looks great, it’s far from fully complete. So just what part of the hotel has reopened? Well, it’s a little tricky, so we’re here to walk you through it. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is one of the most gorgeous hotels on property, if you ask us, and so while we’re looking forward to it getting updates, it does mean one of our favorite hotels isn’t looking its best for the time being. There are three major refurbishments the hotel has been working on since August and September, and another one is set to start later this month. Those are: August 17th through October 9th: The main lobby and primary entrance will be closed. Check-in will move to the Palace Library during this time. September 28th through October 9th: The north side lobby corridor will be closed. During this time, the north side lobby elevators on the second floor and the outdoor terrace observation deck will be unavailable. October 26th through November 6th: The south side lobby corridor will be closed. During this time, Community Hall, Safari So Good Arcade, the laundry room, the Palace Library, lobby restrooms, and the outdoor terrace observation deck will be unavailable. Kidani Village construction We went to check out the lobby on October 10th, when two of these projects were supposed to finish up. We found that the section of the lobby closest to the back savanna has reopened, which includes the refurbished stairs, giving guests access between the lobby level, Sanaa, and the savanna. This also opens up the walking path between the two sides of the resort, so there’s now one continuous indoor path to the temporary store in the Palace Library. You no longer have to go outside and come back in to get there, which is a great thing for rainy days, or when it’s late at night. The refurbished stairs! We actually ended up being one of the first guests to walk across this new section, because we caught the last moments of Cast Members sweeping and mopping the floor in anticipation of the reopening. We were right behind a family who was led by a Disney leader, so it was pretty special! Look at that floor! However, the rest of the lobby and Johari Treasures refurbishment is far from complete. Cast Members don’t have an estimate for when it will be finished, but it definitely won’t be soon, based on the level of construction we still saw. This means that the October 9th opening date definitely isn’t the case, so we’re curious to see just how much longer this part will take, and if Disney will update their page with a new date. Currently, the Disney World website just lists, “From May 2026 through January 2027, Guest rooms at Jambo House at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge will undergo refurbishment,” so there’s no mention of the ongoing lobby refurbishment. It’ll still be a while for the rest of it Want to see what Animal Kingdom Lodge is like when it’s at its prime? Check out our video below! Be sure to stay tuned to DFB for all the latest Disney news! There is a very specific point during a Disney World trip when your cute park bag stops being an accessory and starts becoming equipment. It usually happens somewhere around mile seven. Loungefly Wall By then, your Loungefly has been through rope drop, three Lightning Lanes, a snack emergency, Florida humidity, and at least one moment when you shoved a half-empty bottle of sunscreen inside and hoped for the best. And you’ve still got several hours to go. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. That’s why we pay attention when certain Disney Loungefly backpacks keep showing up among Amazon’s best sellers. Yes, they’re cute. That part is practically a job requirement. But these are also bags we can see ourselves carrying through a full Disney park day without regretting the decision by lunchtime. And right now, Amazon has several VERY good options, including one that’s on sale. Disney Haunted Mansion Stretching Room Portraits Mini Backpack There are Disney bags, and then there are Disney bags that quietly announce, “Yes, I know exactly what happens when there are no windows and no doors.” The Disney Haunted Mansion Stretching Room Portraits Mini Backpack falls firmly into the second category. ©Amazon This bag features the famous Stretching Room portraits from Haunted Mansion, which makes it one of those pieces of Disney merch that feels a little more interesting than another giant character face plastered across your back. Disney fans know it immediately. Everyone else just sees a cool, slightly spooky bag. If your Disney World outfit leans more Haunted Mansion wallpaper than matching family T-shirt, this is the Loungefly we’d grab. view ON AMAZON Loungefly Disney Princess Books Classics Happily Ever After Mini Backpack Now THIS is the bag we’d recommend to someone who wants one Loungefly that can work with almost everything. The Loungefly Disney Princess Books Classics Happily Ever After Mini Backpack has a retro storybook design inspired by classic Disney Princess movies. It feels nostalgic without locking you into one character, one park, or even one particularly elaborate Disney outfit. ©Amazon We like this one because the vintage colors make it easier to coordinate than some of the brighter character bags. You could carry it through Magic Kingdom one day, EPCOT the next, and Hollywood Studios after that without feeling like your bag wandered in from somebody else’s outfit. view ON AMAZON Loungefly Disney Stained Glass Rapunzel Mini Backpack Stained-glass Disney merchandise has been having a MOMENT, and this Amazon-exclusive Rapunzel bag understands the assignment. The Loungefly Disney Stained Glass Rapunzel Mini Backpack takes the look in a more elegant direction than your average character backpack. The stained-glass-inspired artwork gives it plenty of color and detail, but the overall effect feels more like a statement accessory than something you bought five minutes after riding a Fantasyland attraction. ©Amazon This is the bag we’d choose if the Loungefly IS the outfit. Pair it with a simple dress, shorts and a tank, or your favorite park basics and let the backpack do all the work. That’s helpful on a Disney vacation when you’ve already spent enough brainpower deciding which park you’re rope dropping, which Lightning Lanes you’re booking, and where you’re getting lunch. view ON AMAZON Loungefly Disney Stained Glass Rapunzel Ears And then, of course, there are matching ears. The Loungefly Disney Stained Glass Rapunzel Ears coordinate with the backpack, so you can build an entire Disney park outfit around the same stained-glass design. ©Amazon This is exactly the kind of matching set we like because it does most of the styling for you. Put the bag and ears together, keep the rest of your outfit simple, and it looks like you planned the whole thing instead of getting dressed while simultaneously checking the My Disney Experience app. view ON AMAZON HOYOFO Mini Backpack Organizer Insert And now for the least glamorous item on this list and possibly the one you’ll appreciate most around mile nine. Get an organizer for your Loungefly. Mini backpacks have one major flaw. Without some kind of organization, they can quickly become a tiny fabric cave containing three receipts, a melted lip balm, one rogue earbud, and the portable charger you KNOW is in there somewhere. HOYOFO Mini Backpack Organizer The HOYOFO Mini Backpack Organizer Insert adds compartments inside your bag so your smaller essentials have somewhere to live. You’re constantly reaching for your wallet, sunglasses, sunscreen, charger, medication, hand sanitizer, or whatever else you’ve packed for the day. Being able to grab something without unloading your entire Loungefly onto a table at Pecos Bill is worth more than it sounds. HOYOFO Mini Backpack Organizer It also makes switching between Loungeflys easier. Instead of transferring twelve individual items from one bag to another, move the organizer and get going. view ON AMAZON There’s a reason certain Loungefly backpacks keep becoming Disney park staples. They’re small enough that you aren’t lugging a giant backpack through Fantasyland, but roomy enough for the things you actually need during a full park day. We’re always on the hunt for the latest and greatest Disney souvenirs and essentials, so don’t forget to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for more! View the full article

Well, Disney just made it through, arguably, their hardest week of the year. AKA, the week where they jack up the prices on practically everything in Disney World, we all complain about it, and then the vast majority of us decide the magic is worth it and keep paying said prices as our wallets sob in despair. Hollywood Studios This year, though, Disney really doubled down on distracting all of us from the price increases by dropping TONS of news and updates. Did it work? Well, our team was certainly busy keeping up with it all, but we’ll let you make the final call on how successfully they distracted you. This past week, we saw numerous new booths open up at the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival, which was a pretty successful distraction at the start of the week, but that was before price increases dropped. The Diamond Horseshoe also officially opened in its new pop-up restaurant format, bookings opened up for Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge, and we saw an entire new store open up in Disney Springs. The changes don’t stop there, either. Let’s take a look at what you need to expect in terms of closures and ongoing construction in Disney World from October 9th through October 16th. Magic Kingdom Walt Disney World Railroad The Walt Disney World Railroad temporarily closed on September 28th for reasons that Disney hasn’t released. Fortunately, the closure isn’t expected to last long. The Walt Disney World Railroad Disney has listed that the train should reopen on October 30th, so we’ll only have to go without it for about a month. When it reopens, though, a reminder that it’ll only be running from Main Street to Fantasyland and back, as the Frontierland station is closed due to construction happening in Villains Land and Piston Peak. Carousel of Progress Carousel of Progress closed on July 6th to undergo a major refurbishment. The work will include completely revamping the scenes in the attraction to make them more modern and represent more recent parts of history, as well as adding a new Walt Disney animatronic at the opening. ©Disney Currently, the attraction is set to reopen in 2027, though no official date has been set yet. Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island An iconic part of the Magic Kingdom is now permanently closed. As of July 7th, 2025, the Rivers of America, including the Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island, are permanently closed to make way for the new Cars area, Piston Peak. There are lots of construction walls up in the area now, and the structures on Tom Sawyer Island have been demolished. Most recently, we saw some pretty great updates to the progress on the site! via @bioreconstruct on X/Twitter Piston Peak National Park will be replacing this area of the Magic Kingdom. Disney has not yet announced an opening date for the new Cars area, but we do know it will feature two brand-new attractions and be themed to look like a National Park. Disney World Files NEW Permits for Park Entrance Updates Disney’s Hollywood Studios Muppets Courtyard Muppet*Vision 3D and PizzeRizzo closed on June 8th, 2025, and Muppets Courtyard has been walled off for construction on the new Monsters, Inc. land. Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano has been closed since May 11th, 2025. Most recently, Disney released new information about Monstropolis, saying that “Monstropolis — the monster city now powered by laughter — is getting ready to give humans a glimpse of what’s been hidden from their world for generations. Which raises an interesting question: if humans were never meant to enter the monster world … why are the doors finally opening to us?” ©bioreconstruct We’ll get to explore their world during H.U.M.A.N. Day, or “Humans Understand Monsters Are Nice” Day, with Disney continuing to say, “Human guests will have the chance to explore the city, meet its citizens, taste unique cuisine, and step into the everyday world of monsters in a totally new way. For the first time, two worlds once separated are meeting face to scaly, furry, and fang-filled face – brought together not by screams, but by laughter.” ©Disney It’s also been fully confirmed that Harryhausen’s will be one of the restaurants in the new land, in addition to Archie’s Square Pig Pizza. Most recently, we got a look at some of the new food coming to the land, and we’ve gotta say, we’re pretty excited! ©Disney If you’re missing The Muppets, you can go visit them at Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets right now! NEWS: Rise of the Resistance Added to Extended Evening Hours at Hollywood Studios EPCOT Coral Reef Restaurant Coral Reef, one of the most controversial restaurants in all of Disney World, closed for refurbishment on September 8th. Coral Reef Restaurant The Disney World website recently adjusted to allow guests to begin booking reservations again on November 4th and beyond, which we’re now considering the reopening date, unless Disney tells us differently. La Signature La Signature, one of the stores located in the France Pavilion, closed for refurbishment on June 30th. La Signature closed The store specializes in French cosmetics and fragrances from Guerlain. During the closure, if you’re looking to buy Guerlain products, they’ll be temporarily available at the nearby Plume Et Palette. Sections of Germany Pavilion On July 13th, both the guest bathrooms in the Germany Pavilion and the majority of the Volkskunst store in EPCOT’s Germany Pavilion closed for refurbishment. The roof of Das Kaufhaus is also under refurbishment. Totally closed While a Cast Member did tell us the store closure was to fix the Cast Member bathrooms out of sight, Disney has not revealed a reopening date for the store or the public bathrooms. Other parts of the pavilion are also seeing construction and refurbishment, but are not causing additional closures. 6 Changes Coming to EPCOT Next Month Disney’s Animal Kingdom DinoLand, USA On February 2nd, DinoLand, USA, officially closed to make way for the new Tropical Americas land, Pueblo Esperanza. Most recently, we noticed that large cranes are in the area to adjust the roofs of existing buildings, likely to keep them in theme. Tropical Americas construction We can also see lots of work happening at the front of the new Indiana Jones ride, Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent! Recently, we got an updated look at the new Indiana Jones ride, which looks like it’s coming along well! Via @bioreconstruct on Twitter/X This new land will have three new rides: El Carrusel de los Animalitos featuring classic Disney animals, Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent where you’ll explore a Mayan temple, and Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto that invites you into the Madrigals’ home. We can’t wait to continue to see how it all shapes up. BREAKING NEWS: Nomad Lounge Churros Added to Mobile Order at Disney World Disney World Hotels Disney’s Port Orleans — French Quarter Scat Cat’s Club and Lounge at Disney’s Port Orleans — French Quarter officially closed for refurbishment on October 6th. Don’t worry, you can still grab the iconic beignets next door at Sassagoula Floatworks & Food Factory Mickey Beignets at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort Additionally, to make up for the lack of drinks at the lounge, a temporary bar will be available near the cafe from 5 PM to 11 PM each night. When it comes to reopening, the cafe is set to be closed till December and the Lounge until January, though Disney hasn’t released official dates. All-Star Sports Resort Disney quietly announced that Grandstand Spirits Pool Bar is closing for a refurbishment. It closed on September 18th and is expected to last through mid-December 2026. Grandstand Spirits During the closure, we recommend you swing by End Zone Food Court, just a short walk away from the pool, to snag your eats and drinks. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge There are numerous closures taking place around Animal Kingdom Lodge over the next few months that may affect your vacation. The Savanna at Animal Kingdom Lodge August 17th through October 9th: The main lobby and primary entrance will be closed. Convention Center and El Centro Corridor — Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort Beginning on August 10th, the Convention Center at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort began a planned refurbishment that is expected to last through September 2027. Coronado Springs Additionally, the hotel’s El Centro Corridor and surrounding areas will also undergo refurbishment tied to the convention center refurbishment. While there’s no end date for this construction project, we do know that work will be completed in phases, with certain spaces being temporarily inaccessible at times. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa This hotel has been undergoing refurbishments for quite some time now, but some sections of the hotel — specifically the porte cochere — will continue to undergo refurbishment through at least early 2027. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort We certainly hope it’ll actually reopen on this timeline — we’re a little tired of seeing construction all over this beautiful hotel! Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort Currently, work is taking place all over Bay Lake Tower through Late 2027. Bay Lake Tower While currently no major closures are taking place due to this construction, it’s important to note that you may see or hear construction during your stay. Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort The tennis courts at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort are currently closed for refurbishment. Saratoga Springs While Disney hasn’t shared an exact reopening date, the current timeline is that they’ll be closed from late August through November 2026. Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and Resort The Promenade Fine Art Gallery closed its Disney’s Boardwalk location on October 20th, 2025. However, the Promenade Fine Art Gallery isn’t closing for good, and it will just be moving to a new location. Promenade Fine Art Gallery Disney filed permits for the Boardwalk titled “Project Amazon” and “Project Bubbles” earlier this year, and now that we have a bit more information on them, we’re thinking that this currently vacant spot could soon become the home of the new Basin on the Boardwalk store on its way! The shop will be rooted in the resort’s classic boardwalk heritage and will offer a sensory shopping experience that is described as “both timeless and distinctly new.” Disney World Hotel Restaurants Suffer HUNDREDS of Price Increases We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all the latest Disney World news, so stay tuned to DFB! These are the Disney World packing hacks that have earned our official stamp of approval! Cinderella Castle From trying to fit oneeee more thing into our already overstuffed suitcase to keeping all of our (obviously) must-have park accessories organized, we’ve tested countless packing hacks for our Disney World trips over the years. But which hacks rise to the top of the pack? Let’s take a look! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. These are the packing hacks we share with our friends and family when they’re prepping for their Disney World trips! Pack a Bathing Suit in Your Carry-On Bag This popular cruise packing tip can come in handy at Disney World too! As frequent cruisers may know, it’s often suggested to pack a bathing suit in your carry-on so you can head to the pool as soon as you board, since your luggage may take a while to arrive. And you can use the same logic when visiting Disney World! Big Blue Pool at Art of Animation Your room might not be ready right when you arrive at Disney World, especially if you have an early flight. But if you keep a bathing suit in your carry-on bag, you can have easy access to it so you can head to the pool while you wait and still get a start on your vacation fun. You can even find a Disney-themed carry-on bag to help build the excitement! ©Amazon Plus, if you plan to head to one of the Disney World water parks on your arrival day, this tip will be even more helpful so you don’t have to dig through your luggage to find what you need! View on Amazon Use Your Shoes for Extra Packing Space One thing we’ve learned the hard way from countless packing experiences — no matter how hard we try, we can never get our shoes to squish down and give us more space. Instead of fighting against physics, we use all that space inside our shoes for good and fill our shoes with socks, deodorant, or whatever other small items we can fit inside! Fill Your Shoes with Small Items for Extra Packing Space! Our go-to shoes for Disney World are the Hoka Clifton 10s, which give us plenty of support while still feeling lightweight and comfortable for all-day wear. And you can bet that when they make their way into our suitcase, they’re stuffed with socks and other odds and ends! HOKA shoes in Disney World This is also a helpful tip to keep in mind if you need a bit more space coming back, thanks to all the souvenirs you collected! Shoes are prime real estate for slipping things like magnets, keychains, pins, and other small items. View on Amazon Packing Cubes Can Help Organize AND Save Space When we’re headed for a longer trip, we use Compression Packing Cubes to help us get the most out of every inch of space in our suitcase! Some compression cubes need a vacuum to suck out the air, but since we definitely aren’t packing a vacuum with us, we prefer this set, which works with just a zipper, so we can repack them throughout our trip as needed. ©Amazon And here’s a little bonus tip for packing cubes — if you get a transparent set like this, you can also put a Post-it Note INSIDE each cube with a list of what items are in each one so you don’t have to unpack everything to find what you’re looking for! We’ve tried putting notes on the outside of cubes before, but found that they usually came unstuck and got mixed up, so this hack solved that dilemma perfectly. View on Amazon Buy a (Sturdy) Disposable Water Bottle at the Airport Whether you’re trying hard to pack extra light, you don’t want to risk losing your favorite water bottle from home, or you just forgot to pack one, we know a refillable water bottle sometimes doesn’t make the cut on the packing list. Since a refillable water bottle is still a must for us in the parks, when there’s a time that we either intentionally or accidentally didn’t pack one, we pick up a disposable water bottle at the airport (AFTER security) from a brand with sturdy bottles like PATH, Fiji, or Evian. Evian Water Instead of buying new bottles throughout the trip, we hang on to the same bottle from the airport and refill it throughout our vacation. Then, when we’re on our way back home, we can recycle the bottle and have one less thing to carry on the return trip! From staying organized to getting the most out of alllll of the space in our luggage, these are the packing hacks we use when prepping for our Disney World vacations. We’ll report back with more of our favorite Disney tips, so stay tuned to DFB for the latest updates! View the full article

Every year, as the temperatures drop, flu season ramps up. This also happens to be the time that millions flock to Disney World. Sadly, the Disney bubble doesn’t protect you from getting sick! Main Street, U.S.A. Germs and Disney World seem like they would go hand and hand. With that many visitors packed into the parks coming from all over the world, the chances of you going back home with more than just new Disney souvenirs might be higher than guests think. But there are things you can do to keep yourself healthy during your Disney vacation. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. 1. Wash Your Hands, Don’t Just Use Hand Sanitizer Hand sanitizer is convenient, but it’s no substitute for good old-fashioned handwashing. Especially during flu season, you need to wash your hands with soap and water frequently. You’ll want to think before meals, after bathroom visits, and any time you’ve touched high-contact surfaces. It also helps if you wash your hands on every bathroom break, even if you aren’t the one in the group who is stopping to go. Disney Parks have well-maintained restrooms all over the property, so make use of them to scrub for at least 20 seconds. Hand sanitizer is great in a pinch, but nothing beats soap and water when it comes to removing germs effectively. Toy Story Land restrooms 2. But Also, Bring Hand Sanitizer Of course, you won’t always be near a sink, especially when you’re deep in a ride queue or hopping on the Skyliner. That’s where hand sanitizer becomes your flu-fighting sidekick. Bring travel-sized bottles with you and keep them easily accessible in a bag, stroller, or even clipped to your belt. Use it before and after touching ride restraints, grabbing snacks, or boarding transportation. It’s a small step that can make a big difference. Sanitizer Hand sanitizer stations are not found throughout the park as much as they were during the COVID-19 pandemic, so we suggest packing your own. We love the Touchland Mickey Hand Sanitizer. Not only is it on theme for the parks, but it is sprayable, making it perfect for kids and adults! Mickey Touchland Hand Sanitizer View on Amazon 3. Pack the Clorox Wipes Disney does an impressive job of keeping the parks clean, but flu season calls for a little extra vigilance. Bring a small pack of disinfecting wipes (such as Clorox or Lysol) to wipe down tables, high chairs, stroller handles, and even your hotel room’s remote control or door handles. Think of it as an extra layer of protection and peace of mind, especially if you’re traveling with kids or anyone with a weakened immune system. All those strollers! 4. Don’t Touch Everything We get it, Disney World is full of exciting things to see and do. But it’s also full of high-touch surfaces like railings, ropes, queue chains, and glass displays. Make it a rule, especially for younger kids, to avoid touching things unless necessary. It can be a tough habit to break, but simply being aware of what you’re touching can significantly reduce your exposure to germs. Monorail crowds 5. Avoid the Buffets This one might be a bit of a bummer, especially if you love all-you-care-to-enjoy options like Chef Mickey’s or Crystal Palace. But during flu season, buffets come with more shared surfaces and more opportunities for germs to spread. If you’re especially concerned about getting sick, consider booking family-style meals (like Garden Grill) or traditional table-service restaurants where the food is brought directly to you, minimizing contact with shared utensils and surfaces. Chef Mickey’s Buffet 6. Know Where to Go If You Get Sick No one wants to think about getting sick on vacation, but it’s always better to be prepared, just in case. Disney Resort hotels stock basic over-the-counter medications in their gift shops, and there are First Aid Centers located in each park for quick help. For more serious situations, AdventHealth offers on-property services for Disney guests, including urgent care that will even pick you up from your hotel. You can call Guest Health Care Services presented by AdventHealth at (407) 939-7480, available daily from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM. Keep that number in your phone, just in case you need it. Disney Cruise Line has been dropping a TON of news recently. Between all the announcements we just got about the Disney Believe joining the fleet in 2027, and now an update we were not expecting. Disney Wish Disney Cruise Line is officially testing out a new wristband system, so let’s dive into everything we know so far. Scott Gustin on X has officially shared that Disney Cruise Line is in the process of testing out an all-new wristband system on the Disney Treasure, which is currently sailing out of Port Canaveral. These wristbands would be a new wearable version of the Key to the World cards. These are the cards guests use to get into their room, make purchases on the ship, and more. Key to the World Card While guests can connect their Magic Bands to their Cruise and use those as their Key to the World cards, the wristband would be another option. This is currently in very limited testing only aboard the Disney Treasure, and Disney has not yet shared any plans for how this could be used in the future, only that the goal is for the wristbands to perform the same functions as the Key to the World cards. During testing, guests who do not have a Magic Band could be given the wristband instead of a traditional Key to the World card, although it will only be active for that specific sailing and must be returned before leaving the cruise. From @ScottGustin on X Now, this is not the only recent Disney Cruise Line update. In fact, we just got several exciting bits of news about what we can find aboard the all-new Disney Believe ship, which will begin sailing on December 18th, 2026, with bookings opening in just a few days, on October 19th. Disney Believe One of the announcements we are most excited about is the very first Broadway-style Encanto show that is coming to the Disney Believe! ©Disney There will also be cafes and lounges themed to Snow White, Moana, and Big Hero 6. ©Disney Plus, rotational dining including Oaken’s Table: A Frozen Family Feast and more! We are already so excited to set sail on this cruise next year and explore all of the magic and stories present on the Disney Believe. ©Disney We are also very interested to see how the testing on these new wristbands progresses and if this is a system Disney Cruise Line will start using widely. In the meantime, we will continue to keep you informed of all Disney Cruise Line news, so stay tuned to Disney Food Blog so you never miss anything! New Disney World snacks are like a whole event! They could completely change how we feel about certain Disney World restaurants, and can save long-forgotten spaces that we usually skip. Outer Rim A popular Disney World bar over at the Contemporary Resort is Outer Rim, and the dining spot just added two new snacks to its menu. Of course, we had to go find out if this was going to be a new Disney World gem, or something you should avoid entirely. As always, we’re taking you with us in this snack review! The first thing we tried was the Elote Dip for $12.00. For starters, the chips are absolutely out of this world. They are thick enough to hold up against the dip, and the chips can dip as deep as you want without breaking. These are housemaid kettle potato chips and they were the perfect chip for our dipping adventure. Elote Dip The chips are seasoned well, but are not over-salted. They are also super crunchy, and they are almost a tad well done, which we’re not mad about at all. It actually helped to make them perfect for picking up as much dip as you want in any given bite. The chips are so tasty! The dip is delicious, but if you’re not a fan of cold dips, you might be put off by the dip since it’s served chilled. As huge fans of all things corn, we absolutely loved the dip. It was so creamy, full of herbs, and full of corn flavor. You can taste that the corn is roasted and roasted well; all the sweetness of the corn comes out in every bite. You can also taste the red onions and all the herbs that they used. It isn’t overly creamy; it just lets the corn shine through. You’re gonna find yourself going back over and over again for more bites of this dip. It’s THAT good! The dip is so good! Then we tried the Charcuterie Board for $17.00. Although this is not the most imaginative charcuterie board we’ve ever had, it is full of very tasty bites. As with any charcuterie board, the best part is the “choose your own adventure” aspect, and they have really nice quality meat, from salami to prosciutto. Charcuterie Board We found the meat was nicely sliced and prepared, and wasn’t too fatty. The Parmesan is quite good, as is the creamy Gouda. The nice surprises of this board are the spiced cheese in the center. It is like an Alouette cheese, and the fruit paste, which really brings to life the taste of the prosciutto when paired with the Gouda. So good! The biggest surprise of the board is the pesto crostini. These are toasted perfectly enough just to spread an amount of pesto on them to really bring to life the flavors of the meats and the cheeses. These were our favorite compliments. The water crackers were fine, but the crostini are delicious, and of course, we could not pass up the Marcona almonds. Those were so buttery and delicious. Overall, this is a very solid charcuterie board and is absolutely perfect to go with any cocktail on their menu. We love this! These new additions to their menu are long overdue. This has always been the one lounge that has been left out as far as snacks to be included with their cocktails. It is so refreshing that they have finally brought some to this location, as it always felt a little forlorn next to some of the other themed lounges. Isn’t it crazy that D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event was already a couple of months ago?! During the event, Disney made some pretty major announcements, including one that sparked a lot of conversation amongst Disney fans! ©Disney During the Disney Parks and Experiences Showcase, Disney announced that they would FINALLY be fixing the long-broken yeti animatronic on Animal Kingdom’s Expedition Everest. We’re not exaggerating when we say it’s been broken for years. The animatronic is finally getting fixed, and while fans had lots to say, we actually got to hear the thoughts on the matter from one of the greatest Disney Imagineers of all time. Disney Legend, Joe Rohde! New York Comic Con is taking place this weekend, and we’ve gotten to hear and see some cool things Disney has in store, including a ton of projects on the horizon for Marvel. Joe Rohde is actually at the fan event, and he shared his thoughts on the Yeti animatronic that’s featured on the iconic Animal Kingdom attraction. Expedition Everest Joe Rohde did mention that he doesn’t know much about the attraction since he’s not working on it, but he did say it’s not as easy as saying “we want to do it, so let’s do it.” It’s a good statement to make because, as Disney fans, we sometimes ask for things to be done, but don’t realize how much more complicated it is than that. We’re guilty of it all the time! Expedition Everest “The narrative point has to be the Yeti is alive. As long as it’s moving, that’s a fix,” said Joe. He pointed out that everyone in Disney Imagineering needs to work together to move pieces, and no one is sure where it will stop. Expedition Everest If you remember when the ride first opened, you used to be able to see the arm of the Yeti animatronic swing over you as you exited the side of the mountain. However, with the scale and the complications of an animatronic like that, it broke down. What we see now is a strobe light effect to make it look at least a little scary, as well as make it look like it could be slightly moving. That’s where the nickname Disco Yeti comes from. ©Disney Disney hasn’t shared when the animatronic at Animal Kingdom will be fixed. There is currently no official timeline or closing date for the attraction. We’re assuming that when the time does come for an announcement, we could be seeing a lengthy closure for Expedition Everest. Animal Kingdom We’ll be keeping an eye out for any news and updates when they drop, so make sure to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for more! If there is one thing we LOVE, it’s a new behind-the-scenes look at a mysterious project coming to Disney World. ©Bioreconstruct Which is why we were thrilled to see that brand-new photos just dropped, giving us an updated look at the construction happening at the mysterious “Project Fedora” coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. If you’ve been keeping up with Disney World news, then you know that several months ago Disney filed permits for a “Project Fedora” in Hollywood Studios. There were no other details about what this project entails other than that it will take place somewhere between Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular and the Backlot Express. “Project Fedora” Permit ©Central Florida Tourism Oversight District Given the name, many people, us included, think this new mystery project might have something to do with Indiana Jones. Given that his iconic hat is a fedora and that this project is being built right next to the Indiana Jones show. Given the type of space, it is possible that “Project Fedora” could be a new merch stand, or even a stack stand, but Disney has yet to confirm anything. Project Fedora Construction in Hollywood Studios However, today Bioreconstruct just posted some new aerial photos that show construction is happening in this area! ©Bioreconstruct We can see a steel frame has recently been added, and though we still can’t quite make out what this space will turn into, we are so happy to have gotten another update on this mysterious project after months of waiting. Disney World drops NEW snacks and treats every single day. And we know it can be difficult to keep track of all of them, which is why we always make sure to bring you reviews of every new snack that pops up, so you know what to try and what to skip on your next trip. Cookie Butter Mini Churros Well, recently Disney World dropped six new Churro treats, and we are diving into full reviews of each and every one, and seeing which were the best! Now, before we get started, it is important to know that Disney World is known for making not great churros. No matter what, they never quite seem to hit the mark, which is why we are very interested to see if any of these six new treats are able to redeem the Disney World churro reputation. Churro These new churro treats popped up all across Disney World, but we are starting our journey in Magic Kingdom over at Energy Bytes. This is a walk-up counter located in Tomorrowland next to TRON Lightcycle / Run, where they are serving the Churro Overdrive for $8.49. This is made with Cookies and Cream Mini Churros, Blue Sugar, and Marshmallow. Churro Overdrive These churros had a very pleasant crunch and were almost reminiscent of kids’ cereal. The churro itself was a standard Disney churro, meaning it was not our favorite and left us slightly disappointed. There is quite a bit of that creamy white frosting; however, it is extremely sugary and did not have a distinct taste other than sugar. Churro Overdrive Unfortunately, the glaze filling the bottom of the cup makes the churros get very soggy quickly. The blue sugar is a fun detail that makes this visually interesting, and we think these would be a fan favorite for kids. But overall, these were nothing super memorable and felt like a very sweet version of a classic Disney World churro. Churro Overdrive Next up, we visited Isle of Java in Disney’s Animal Kingdom to try the Churro-misu Cold Brew for $7.99. This is Joffrey’s Cold Brew Coffee topped with a Tiramisu Cold Foam, served with Churros. Churro-misu Cold Brew If you love very strong coffee, then you will be a fan of this one! However, if you are expecting a super sweet coffee from the name, that is not what you will get here. The cold brew was incredibly strong and tasted amazing, but it was unsweetened. We expected the flavors from the cold foam to balance out this drink, but even after mixing it, it was still only lightly creamy and very subtly sweet. Churro-misu Cold Brew Now, if you are a strong coffee lover, this will be right up your alley, but if you are looking for a sweet coffee drink, we would suggest trying something else instead. Also, if you grab this drink, make sure to take out the churro right away because it will get soggy quickly. Churro-misu Cold Brew Our churro adventures next took us to Warung Outpost, also in Animal Kingdom, to snag the Dole Whip Pineapple with Chili-Lime and Churro Sundae for $8.29. This is made with Pineapple Dole Whip, Chili-Lime-marinated Pineapple, Coconut, and Churros. Dole Whip Pineapple with Chili-Lime and Churro Sundae Unfortunately, this dessert faces the same problem as most treats that use a classic Disney churro: the standard Disney World churros are just not amazing. And sadly, the quality of the churro is not improved by presenting it in this unique way. However, the Dole Whip here was incredibly delicious, and the chili lime provided an amazing kick. We also loved the bits of marinated pineapple throughout. Dole Whip Pineapple with Chili-lime and Churro Sundae Our only complaint is that we wish there had been even more of the chili-lime flavor, since after a bit you are just left with classic Dole Whip. Overall, we would recommend taking the churros out quickly to avoid them getting soggy, but this was a great ice cream treat that is perfect for a hot day in Disney World. Dole Whip Pineapple with Chili-lime and Churro Sundae Next up, we went to Sunshine Seasons in EPCOT to try the Churro Strawberry Shortcake Sundae for $8.29. This is made with Churro Loops, Strawberry Soft-serve, Strawberry Compote, Whipped Cream, and Cake Crumbs. Churro Strawberry Shortcake Sundae Okay, we were shocked by how much we loved these churros! The loops were crunchy and full of cinnamon sugar, everything we want but typically do not get in a Disney World churro. The strawberry ice cream had a pleasant taste but did melt extremely quickly, even inside. Churro Strawberry Shortcake Sundae The strawberry compote was amazing and added some great texture. The best bites here included all of the elements, including the churro, together. This was fantastic, and we would definitely recommend trying it on your next visit to EPCOT, especially if you are looking for a great churro. Churro Strawberry Shortcake Sundae We also took a trip to Ice Cold Hydraulics in Hollywood Studios to grab the Cookie Butter Mini Churros for $8.29. These are Churros with Cookie Butter Cream and Crushed Cookies. Cookie Butter Mini Churros These did not taste like standard Disney Churros! They were extremely crunchy outside while being fluffy inside. The cinnamon sugar and cookie butter crumb flavors worked together very well. The cookie butter drizzle was fantastic, and we wished there had been even more of it in a cup on the side so you could dip it. Cookie Butter Mini Churros These were a hit, and we will for sure be grabbing them again on our next visit to Hollywood Studios! Cookie Butter Mini Churros Finally, we stopped by Anaheim Produce, also in Hollywood Studios, to grab our final Churro treat, the Bavarian Cream Filled Churros for $7.99. This is a Churro filled with Bavarian Cream, served with Chocolate Sauce. Bavarian Cream Filled Churros Unfortunately, this was not our favorite. The churro itself was completely plain with no coating on the outside, and the dough itself did not have a strong sweetness to it, and the texture tasted as though it might have been sitting out for a while. Bavarian Cream Filled Churros The Bavarian Cream was very creamy and rich. However, we do not think it was enough to make this churro great. The chocolate sauce was also a nice addition, but overall, this churro was pretty dry and plain, and it is not something we would recommend trying on your next visit.
