  4. If you’ve been to Disneyland, you might agree with us when we say that Disneyland has some of the best food, snacks, and drinks of ALL the parks. Between things like churros, churro toffee, Mickey beignets, and corn dogs, Disneyland just keeps CRUSHING the food game. New snacks alert! However, Disneyland also releases a lot of delicious seasonal and limited-time treats, and something new is arriving all the time. So when we learned about four new snacks in Downtown Disney and at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel, we rushed to the shopping and dining district to check them out for ourselves. Let’s start at the Grand Californian Hotel. Every month, GCH Craftsman Grill offers a Hot Dog of the Month, and this month’s hot dog is the Aloha Bacon Dog for $18, which is an All-Beef Hot Dog topped with Maui onion aioli, applewood smoked bacon, mango-pineapple relish, crispy shallots, and fried green onions, and served on a toasted Hawaiian sweet roll. First up, serving this on a Hawaiian roll was a stroke of genius — that just adds that bit of extra flavor that makes this hot dog go from good to great. Aloha Bacon Dog You’ve got a nice sweet and tart flavor coming from the relish, but the bacon adds a nice smokiness. However, we didn’t really taste the onion aioli. We kinda’ wish this had some kind of sauce on it, too, and think that’s the only thing it was really missing. There’s a nice crunch from the shallots and fried green onions, so the texture is on point, too. We were served sweet potato fries on the side, which really brought the whole meal together and made it worth the price. It’s a fantastic dog! Then we headed into Downtown Disney to hit up Beignets Expressed. We picked up the Breakfast Duo for $9.99, which is a Berry Bliss and Coco Crunch Beignet. Breakfast Duo The Berry Bliss has a berry glaze on it that tastes a little too artificial. It’s playing on the flavors of Fruity Pebbles, so maybe that’s the point. We did like the fruity cereal on top that gave it a good crunch, but the artificial flavors make this overbearingly sweet. Berry Bliss The Choco Crunch was perfectly sweet, though. It has a light glaze and Cocoa Pebbles on top, and all of these flavors really worked well together. It’s the perfect amount of chocolatiness that doesn’t take too much away from the beignet itself. This is our favorite of the two beignets we tried. Choco Crunch Finally, we headed over to Parkside Market to visit GG’s Chicken Shop, but we weren’t there for chicken. Instead, we ordered the Family Gold D23 Cheesecake for $8, which is in honor of the upcoming D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. It’s a creamy mascarpone and purple ube cheesecake atop a graham cracker crust, topped with a D23 chocolate wafer. First, you need to really like ube because that’s the biggest flavor you’re going to get here. Family Gold D23 Cheesecake You do get a bit of a cheesecake flavor and texture, but the ube is the star here. We did like that the ube flavor tasted natural. It’s very purple We’ll be trying even more food in Disneyland soon, so stay tuned to DFB for more. REVIEW: Is This New Disney Snack Even Better Than We Imagined? DON'T DO IT ALONE! 6. Could a popular ride be temporarily closing at Disney’s Hollywood Studios soon? Disney’s Hollywood Studios We recently saw that Walt Disney World filed a construction permit for Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway at Hollywood Studios, and it looks like maintenance work could be coming. Let’s talk about what we know so far! Disney World just filed a permit for Coastal Steel Inc. to perform “General Construction” at the address of Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway. We hate to say that there are literally no other details, but the hired contractor means there could be steel work on the way. Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway In the past, Coastal Steel had done work on the Chinese Theatre façade of Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, so it’s possible they could also be performing an exterior refurbishment. It’s important to note that Coastal Steel has also worked on ride systems. So, we could be seeing work being done on the ride directly or on the exterior. We’re not sure right now, so we don’t know if there will be any future closure to the popular attraction. Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway The permit was filed by Disney’s Facility Asset Management team, which usually handles basic maintenance rather than thematic changes. Taking that into mind, and the fact that there have been no announcements about this attraction as of late, we think it’s safe to assume this is a small maintenance job. Runaway Railway We’ll have to add this to the list of work being done at Hollywood Studios alone. The Walt Disney Studios’ Magic of Disney Animation opens on September 14th, and Disney is in the last stages of putting it together. While Monstropolis is also under construction, but of course, there is no opening date for that quite yet. We are anticipating we’ll get news during the D23 Expo. Construction is moving FAST We’ll be keeping an eye on any construction news and updates surrounding Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway. 7. Alright, friends — because we love you too much to let you make these mistakes at EPCOT’s Food and Wine Festival. Flavors From Fire spread at the 2025 EPCOT Food and Wine Festival The 2026 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival is BACK, running August 27th through November 21st. We’re talking Global Marketplace booths stretched across six continents (and beyond!), the return of Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak scavenger hunt for the Pixar fans, Emile’s Fromage Montage for anyone who thinks “cheese” is a personality trait, and of course the Eat to the Beat Concert Series bringing free nightly performances to America Gardens Theatre. But before you lace up your walking shoes and start planning your festival day, we need to talk about the mistakes we see SO many guests make every single year. Mistake #1: Forgetting to Hydrate Here’s the thing about a festival built entirely around eating and drinking your way across World Showcase: it is shockingly easy to forget plain old water exists. Between the specialty cocktails, the frozen drinks, and the endless snacking, hydration tends to fall way down the priority list — and that’s a recipe for a headache (or worse) by 2pm. Our advice? Grab a refillable water bottle before you head into the park and make a habit of filling it up at water fountains or asking for a free cup of ice water at any counter-service. A good rule of thumb is to alternate: for every specialty beverage you enjoy, follow it with a big glass of water. Your future self (and your feet) will thank you. Food + Wine + Disney = Heaven! Mistake #2: Eating a BIG Meal Before We see this one constantly: guests book a hearty table-service breakfast or a full lunch reservation right before diving into the festival, and end up stuffed before they’ve even hit their first booth. We get it because EPCOT has a ton of great restaurants, but you’ll end up not being able to enjoy the festival booths. And since Food & Wine dishes are designed for grazing, not one main course, filling up on a traditional meal means you’ll either have to force down bites you don’t have room for or skip booths you were excited about entirely. Our advice? Keep pre-festival meals light — a smaller breakfast, a quick snack, or skip the sit-down lunch reservation altogether — so you go in with an appetite ready for sampling. Think of festival day as one long, delicious grazing session rather than three regular meals plus extras, and budget your hunger accordingly. Belgium booth spread in 2025 Mistake #3: Not Taking the Heat Seriously Florida heat does not play around, and Food & Wine season overlaps with some seriously warm (and humid!) months. Combine that heat with a full day of walking, rich festival food, specialty drinks, and a coaster or two, and you’ve got the perfect storm for an upset stomach — or worse, heat exhaustion. This one is simple but SO important: take breaks in air-conditioned spaces like Spaceship Earth and The Land; wear breathable clothing and a hat; and consider spacing out your richer, heavier booth items rather than eating them all back-to-back in direct sun. If you’re planning to ride something thrilling like Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, it’s smart to do that before loading up on food, not immediately after. Listen to your body, and don’t be afraid to sit down in the shade for twenty minutes — the festival isn’t going anywhere. The Land Pavilion Mistake #4: Not Having a Game Plan Walking into the festival with zero plan is one of the fastest ways to waste time, overspend, and miss out on the dishes you’d actually love. With dozens of booths serving multiple menu items each, decision fatigue is real! Before your visit, read through our DisneyFoodBlog booth reviews to see which dishes are getting the buzz this year, and make a shortlist of your must-try items versus your “if we have time” items. It also helps to set a rough food budget ahead of time, since those small plates add up fast. Download our festival map and checklist above, note where your top picks are located, and try to plan a walking route that makes sense geographically instead of zig-zagging across the whole park. A little prep goes a long way toward making sure you don’t miss the dish everyone’s going to be talking about. EPCOT Map in 2024 Mistake #5: Not Getting an Eat to the Beat Dining Package The Eat to the Beat Concert Series is free with park admission, but here’s the catch: seating at America Gardens Theatre is first-come, first-served, and popular acts can fill up FAST — meaning you could end up standing in a long line only to miss the show entirely. If there’s an artist on this year’s lineup that you really don’t want to miss, booking a Concert Series Dining Package is the move. Reserve a meal at one of the participating EPCOT restaurants, and you’ll receive a badge for guaranteed seating at your selected showtime, entering through a separate line so you skip the general seating scramble. So book early because it’s a great way to build a stress-free favorite-artist night right into your festival day. Eat to the Beat Concert crowds The EPCOT Food & Wine Festival is meant to be fun, delicious, and a little indulgent, but a bit of planning goes a long way. 8. The Diamond Horseshoe saw a major change this year with the transition from a table-service restaurant to theater show Jessie’s Roundup for Cool KIDS’ SUMMER. Diamond Horseshoe But believe it or not, the space is getting another major revamp this fall. Disney just announced that the Diamond Horseshoe will become a cowboy-themed lounge for a limited time this fall! Once Jessie’s Roundup ends on September 8th, the Diamond Horseshoe will transform into a new restaurant! This new spot is described as “the perfect place to relax your weary legs and enjoy the atmosphere with some provisions and libations while you sit a spell,” which makes us confident it’ll become a lounge compared to the former table-service restaurant. The Diamond Horseshoe will still accept reservations and welcome walk-ins after this change. Disney hasn’t yet announced a specific opening date or closing timeline. Jessie’s Roundup in Magic Kingdom Disney also announced a brand-new menu for The Diamond Horseshoe with some cowboy-themed snacks and drinks! This new Savory Charcuterie Board is a meat lover’s dream. It’s topped with cured beef, ‘fancy bacon’, smoked pork, green chile cheese, smoked cheddar, and pickles. ©Disney To wash it down, cowboys of all ages can grab this non-alcoholic fancy Lemonade made with Minute Maid Premium Lemonade, strawberry, and hot honey, garnished with a chili-lime rim. ©Disney You can also get an adult beverage with this beautiful Margarita, made with LALO Blanco Tequila, prickly pear, lime, and agave. It isn’t just tasty to sip and savor, but it’s worth snapping a pic or two – just look at that gorgeous pink color! ©Disney It seems The Diamond Horseshoe will receive a complete menu overhaul, since Disney stated that the family-style Thanksgiving dinner items previously offered will no longer be served, but will instead be moved to Liberty Tree Tavern next door. Liberty Tree Tavern Disney stated that even more menu items and details are coming soon to the revamped Diamond Horseshoe in Magic Kingdom. 12. When it comes to iconic rides and classic attractions, Haunted Mansion could be at the top of almost every Disney fan’s list. The ride could be one of the most unique in the world, known for both its spooky vibe, as well as its dark humor. That makes it a must-ride when you visit Disneyland. The Haunted Mansion in Disneyland Well, if you’ve been looking forward to hopping on a Doom Buggy for an adventure through the Haunted Mansion next week, you might be surprised — the ride is scheduled to close soon. That’s right, Haunted Mansion is closing on Saturday, August 8th. It won’t be closed for long and will reopen on August 21st, but it will be different. That’s because the closure is an annual one, when Disney puts The Nightmare Before Christmas overlay on the ride so that it becomes Haunted Mansion Holiday through the Halloween and holiday season. So same ride
but also, different! Haunted Mansion Holiday However, if you’re looking to ride the classic version of Haunted Mansion, you only have a few days left to do so. After that, Haunted Mansion Holiday will stick around through January. Of course, Haunted Mansion Holiday is also worthy of a ride as it’s one of the best themed overlays we’ve seen on a Disney attraction. Somehow, Disney pulled off merging the concept of Haunted Mansion with The Nightmare Before Christmas, and it works beautifully. Haunted Mansion Holiday Overlay Because Haunted Mansion Holiday is only available during certain parts of the year, though, that does mean the ride is super popular. Expect long lines to get inside. We recommend taking advantage of Lightning Lane Multi Pass to bypass the long standby line. Note that purchasing Lightning Lane Multi Pass in Disneyland also gets you free access to all your digital PhotoPass downloads, so for that alone, it’s generally worth it. It’s Halloween and it’s Christmas! We’ll keep an eye out for more ride closures, so stay tuned to DFB for more. 10 Weeks When Disneyland Will Be Empty in 2027 DON'T DO IT ALONE! 15. Grab your popcorn and POG juice, friends; we’ve got some Disney updates to share, and you do NOT want to miss this news. Walt Disney Studios On August 5th, 2026, Disney held its earnings call and released its earnings report for the third quarter of fiscal year 2026 (Q3 of FY 26). We got updates on how the theme parks are performing (just how is attendance doing these days??), a peek behind the curtain at the financial performance of Disney’s movies, and more. So let’s dive into everything you need to know right here! One interesting thing to keep in mind is that while this is Josh D’Amaro’s second earnings call as CEO of Disney, Q3 was the first full quarter where he alone was CEO. The previous quarter mostly took place under Bob Iger’s leadership. Alright, let’s get into the updates. Overall Financial Results From an overall perspective, Disney shared that its revenue was $25.25 billion, a 7%increase from June 2025’s revenue of $23.65 billion. The company’s net income was $2.64 billion. However, the company’s net income for its fiscal third quarter was $2.64 billion, as compared to $5.26 billion during the same period in 2025. Walt Disney Studios Now, let’s take a look at each division in the Company. Disney Experiences Updates (Theme Parks, Cruise Line, and Merchandise) Disney Experiences is the division that covers Disney’s theme parks around the world, Disney Cruise Line, and merchandise. That division was BUSY in Disney World in particular this last quarter with the reopening of the revamped Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, the reopening of the refreshed Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and the debut of the new mission at Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets, the Walt Disney Studios Courtyard and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! show, Bluey’s Wild World, and Soarin’ Across America. WHEW. So how did that division perform this past quarter? Dale Disney’s Experiences revenue was up to $9.97 billion, a 10% increase from last year’s $9.1 billion. Attendance for the domestic parks increased 3% over the past year while guest spending remained about the same. Meanwhile, attendance for international parks didn’t change much, but guest spending was up 7%. Animal Kingdom There’s plenty to look forward to as the year progresses, with Disney kicking into Halloween mode, and soon after Holiday/Christmas mode. Plus, the Magic of Disney Animation is set to open on September 14th. We’ll be very interested to see what else the year brings. Click HERE to See the FULL List of New Rides Disney is Opening in 2027! Entertainment Updates (Movies, Disney+, Streaming, and More) Next, let’s turn to the movies, streaming, TV shows, Hulu, and more. Q3 brought us Toy Story 5 in theaters from Pixar and The Mandalorian and Grogu from Star Wars. So what does Disney have to say about its movies and streaming from that time? Well, Disney revealed that its entertainment business increased 11% to $5.53 billion for the quarter. ©Disney Disney’s overall entertainment business, which includes traditional TV and movies released to theaters, as well as streaming, was $11.35 billion, up 6% from 2025. Disney noted that much of this can be attributed to the success of Toy Story 5, which made over $1 billion globally. Toy Story Land at Hollywood Studios Disney did mention that the live-action Moana and The Mandalorian and Grogu didn’t do as well as the company had hoped, but did point out the box office-crushing success of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Click here to see what NEW live-action Disney Princess movie could be coming! Sports Finally, let’s turn to ESPN and the world of sports. During Q3, we got Banana Ball at Disney World and some more major sports events. In terms of Q3, Disney announced that its sports revenue increased 4% from last year to $4.5 billion. Disney pointed out that the NBA Finals programming had the highest ratings in 28 years, while ESPN generated the most-watched programming in the first half of the calendar year since 2012. It’s time for Banana Ball! There’s more coming this year for sports fans, including the start of the NFL season, the return of college football, and more, so be sure to wash those jerseys and get ready. Plus, the 2027 Super Bowl will be ESPN’s first Super Bowl production, so there’s plenty to watch out for. ©ESPN And so that’s where this story ends for today, but there’s a LOT more to come. What will arguably be Disney’s biggest event of this entire year — D23: The Ultimate Fan Event — will be taking place starting August 14th in Anaheim. We expect that this year (just like in the past) we’ll get some MAJOR reveals when it comes to new additions to Disney’s theme parks, new movies, new merchandise, and much, much more. ©Disney We’ll be covering EVERYTHING you need to know from D23, so be sure to subscribe to our newsletter, follow us on social media, and check for the latest updates, cause — as they say — the best is yet to come! 16. The Walt Disney Company is massive, with dozens of branches for merch, entertainment, cruises, and theme parks. But Disney just announced that your new Disney merch could look different soon. ©Disney Disney’s Consumer Products division is behind all of Disney’s merchandise, and they just announced a major restructuring! Disney is restructuring its Consumer Products division, with most of the business moving from Disney Experiences to Disney Entertainment Studios beginning in October, according to a memo from Disney Experiences Chairman Thomas Mazloum and Disney Entertainment Studios Chairman Alan Bergman. The Walt Disney Company The shift seeks to create “cohesion across the entire Disney ecosystem and extending the relevance of our franchises for generations,” according to the joint memo. “This evolution reflects how these businesses operate today and strengthens that model by more directly linking our consumer products businesses with the creative and business teams behind the content.” ©Loungefly “At its best, this work happens when storytelling, commerce and experiences come together from the very beginning, creating cohesion across the entire Disney ecosystem and extending the relevance of our franchises for generations,” they remarked. ©Amazon With about two months until the merger, nothing has been publicized about the process or potential layoffs. Disney Consumer Products licenses Disney IP to merch companies like LEGO, Target, and Old Navy, and DCP-licensed merchandise sold a whopping $63 billion in retail sales in 2025, making it the highest-earning licensor in the world. 17. In late 2025, Disney announced a deal with OpenAI to use that company’s Sora AI content creation tool to create short-form content for Disney+. However, that deal fell apart when OpenAI announced that it had plans to shutter Sora. ©TikTok Well, Disney has gone in another direction, and instead of using an AI tool to create short form content for its streaming service, Disney has now announced a partnership with TikTok, which has pretty much become the King of short-form video content. The first-of-its-kind global deal between Disney and TikTok hopes to bring Disney fans and creators a new way to use memorable scenes from Disney movies and TV shows to create new and unique content. The partnership will bring a huge collection of “thoughtfully curated Disney-centric fan-created content from TikTok” to Disney+. Creators who have opted in to the program will see their short-form videos on both TikTok and Verts on Disney+. This content will include characters and stories from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, FX, and more. ©Disney Those creators will get assets from movies and TV shows from Disney’s library, while fans can experience a shared experience between Disney and TikTok. The videos will be refreshed regularly “to engage subscribers more deeply in timely fan conversations, building stronger communities, and ultimately, helping them engage with more story formats across Disney+.” ©Disney The two companies have created the Disney Creator Ambassador Program to enable “best-in-class creators to unlock special rewards and provide them with increased visibility, access to exclusive events and career development pathways.” “The best storytellers are fans first,” said Asad Ayaz, Disney’s Chief Marketing and Brand Officer. “That has always been true at Disney, and today, fans are celebrating our stories in entirely new ways. This collaboration creates a new bridge between the stories we tell and the creativity they inspire, giving creators a bigger stage to share what they’ve made, and audiences more to discover on Disney+ every day.” ©Disney The new program will pilot in the U.S. in the next few months. 18. If you’ve been to Disney World during a particularly popular period, you probably had one of those moments where you are packed in like sardines next to your fellow park-goers, smelling their deodorant (or lack thereof), and wondering “WHY DID EVERYONE IN THE WORLD DECIDE TO COME TO DISNEY WORLD AT THE SAME TIME AS ME?!” On the flip side, you may have visited during one time and thought crowds were surprisingly not as bad as you might have expected. Crowds Attendance trends have told an interesting picture of what’s going on at Disney World. In fact, for Q2 of FY 2026, Disney revealed that domestic theme park attendance had actually gone DOWN (though per capita spending was up). So what’s the situation like now? Are Disney’s theme parks getting MORE crowded or emptier? We’ve got a major update! On August 5th, 2026, Disney held its earnings call and released its earnings report for Q3 of FY 26. That gave us some updates about just how Disney’s theme parks are performing financially. For context, for Q2, Disney revealed that compared to the prior-year quarter, domestic park attendance had gone down 1%, while per capita spending at the domestic parks was up 5%. Disney attributed the dip to reduced international travel and “macroeconomic uncertainty” consumers are facing. Disney insisted, however, that despite the decrease, “current demand at our domestic parks and resorts is healthy.” Lines for Tomorrowland So what did Disney have to say for Q3 of FY 2026? Disney announced that park attendance has increased by 3%. Disney Experiences, which includes the parks, hotels, and Disney Cruise Line, had double-digit revenue growth, too. The total revenue went up 10% to $9.97 billion and operating income increased b 20% from $2.52 billion to $3.02 billion. Domestic parks and experiences revenue increased by 11% and per capita spending per guest grew by 4%. Rope Drop Crowds It will be interesting to see just how Disney addresses crowd levels in the future. They are certainly investing a lot in new developments in the theme parks. In Disney World alone, they’ve announced a Villains land for Magic Kingdom, a Cars-themed space for Magic Kingdom, a Monsters, Inc. space for Hollywood Studios, Pueblo Esperanza for Animal Kingdom, and a brand-new hotel, among other things. The expectation would be that these new things would encourage more folks to plan a visit to the parks. Monstropolis Construction What else might Disney announce at the upcoming D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event to bring in more crowds or potentially disperse crowds more evenly throughout the parks in Disney World and beyond? We’ll be interested to see. What’s also been interesting to watch are the number of discounts and unique ticket offers Disney has been making, which can also serve as motivation for more people to book trips. We’ll certainly be watching to see what Disney offers in the future. Big Thunder Mountain If you’re planning to visit Disney during a peak crowd time, you may want to look into things like Lightning Lanes, Early Theme Park Entry, Extended Evening Hours, and After Hours to help you beat some of the crowds! While we’re pretty obsessed with the whole collection, we’re even more excited for the Annual Passholder exclusives! Right now, Disney is showing off this cool t-shirt that says “Boo to you” with the Hitchhiking Ghosts from the Haunted Mansion on it. The sleeve says “Passholder” so everyone knows you come all the time. ©Disney There’s also going to be a pin with a similar design that says “passholder.” This would be great to add to a collection or to add to a bag or hat. ©Disney You can find these pieces at the Emporium in Magic Kingdom during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party nights. You’ll need to show your Annual Pass to be able to purchase them, and since it’s only during the party, make sure you grab it while you’re there. 22. All the runners out there know that what seems like a relatively cheap hobby can quickly turn expensive. runDisney And you know what makes it even pricier? If you’re a Disney Adult who likes to run! The runDisney events are extremely popular and sell out quickly, drawing in big crowds so that fans can run through the parks in the wee hours of the morning dressed up as their favorite Disney characters. But what does it really cost you to participate in these races? Let’s break it down. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. runDisney Registration For this example, I’m going to price out the cost for the runDisney Princess Half Marathon Weekend, which takes place February 25th-March 1st, 2027. It’s one of the more popular race weekends, and it features three races, like most of the other weekends do (the exception is the Marathon Weekend in January, which has four races). ©Disney Now, at the time of writing, all the races for this event are already sold out, but the cost is as follows for each race’s registration: The Tiana-themed Disney Princess 5K — $125 per person The Snow White-themed Disney Princess 10K — $175 per person The Jasmine-themed Disney Princess Half Marathon — $269 per person The Ariel-themed Disney Princess Fairytale Challenge (all three races) — $449 per person ©Disney In addition to the race events, you could have signed up for the Disney Princess Yoga, which is scheduled for March 1st and is $127 per person. Hotel Costs Alright, now that you’ve got the race registration done, you’ll need to reserve your hotel for the event! I’ve priced out hotels with an arrival date of Thursday, February 25th and a departure date of Tuesday, March 2nd. This gives you the chance to attend all the race weekend events, including visiting the runDisney Expo the day before the races start (so long as you arrive earlier in the day on Thursday). Disney Princess Half Marathon Expo Starting with a more expensive option, staying those dates at Disney’s Contemporary Resort would cost you at least $4,000.52. That price would be for a Garden Wing Room with Resort View, the cheapest option at that hotel. Being at the Contemporary means you get the perks of Extended Evening Hours, Early Theme Park Entry, a seven-day booking window for Lightning Lanes, and the close proximity to Magic Kingdom — just a walking path or Monorail ride away. Disney’s Contemporary Resort For a Moderate Resort option, you could stay at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort — Riverside. This one’s a fan-favorite! Here, a Standard Room for the duration of the race weekend is $2,018.26 total. That gets you all the regular perks of a Disney Resort guest, plus you’ll have boat transportation to Disney Springs. Port Orleans — Riverside Lobby Of course, we’ve got to have a budget option as well. For our Value Resort, I priced out Disney’s Pop Century Resort with a Standard Room. This one would cost you a total of $1,604.26 for five nights. The bonus benefit of staying here (besides the price) is that you get access to the Disney Skyliner. Pop Century So, as you see, your resort selection can make the price of your trip vary wildly! Theme Park Tickets If you’re going to Disney World and running a race, you’ll likely still want to visit the parks while you’re there! Assuming you want to hit up parks a few days after you’ve run your races, here are the ticket prices for those dates: 2-day base ticket is $400.45 3-day base ticket is $583.86 4-day base ticket is $749.03 5-day base ticket is $811.48 Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom Upgrading those tickets to Park Hoppers will add about $95-$100 to your total (but, honestly, you probably don’t want to do that because you’ll already be tired from racing, and Park Hopping takes a LOT of energy). Single-day base tickets vary in price greatly depending on which day you visit and which park you choose. Dining Now, dining is a tricky one to budget for because preferences are incredibly different from person to person. If you ate entirely quick service meals throughout your trip, you could expect to spend about $15 a person at lunch and dinner each day. Breakfast is a little bit cheaper, but you may also want to budget for a snack or beverage, so I’d recommend a budget of $50 per person, per day. Columbia Harbour House If you wanted to squeeze in a table service meal each day, I’d move that budget up to $75 per person, per day. But if your tastes are more expensive and you want signature dining or two sit-down meals, you could realistically spend $100 per person, per day. This means that depending on your tastes, your food budget could be anywhere from $300 per person total to $600 per person total for the trip. Race Supplies Now, if you’re going to run a race, you’re going to need supplies! When I asked our team what items were must-haves for a runDisney race, our runners had six top picks. 1. A Good Pair of Shoes! HOKA Clifton 10 The first item on the list was a good pair of shoes! Our team is fans of the Hoka Women’s Clifton 10s, and two of our runners said they’d done runDisney races in them. Their main piece of advice here is to break them in thoroughly before you wear them to Disney World. A pair of these will cost you about $175, so add that to the budget. view ON AMAZON 2. Compression Sleeves ©Amazon Another must-have? A set of compression sleeves for your calves. These will help with blood flow while you’re running and keep the swelling and discomfort under control. You can get them in several colors, and we found this set on Amazon for $14. view ON AMAZON 3. A Good Running Belt Is a MUST ©Amazon When you’re running the race, you need a place to store your phone, room key, snacks, and any other items you want to carry on your person. For that, we recommend getting a running belt! They’re like fanny packs, but much slimmer, and they can be adjusted to your waist for a snug fit while you run. This one is on Amazon for $13. view ON AMAZON 4. The Right Socks ©Amazon If you’re going to invest in your shoes, you should invest in your socks as well. One of our team’s runners is a big fan of these Balega Hidden Comfort Performance Socks for her runDisney races. Get a pair for $17 on Amazon. view ON AMAZON 5. Don’t Forget the Bib Snaps! ©Amazon Something that runners claimed was an absolute game-changer is bib snaps! These snaps help keep your runner bib in place, and they’re reusable and fabric-friendly. You can get the plain ones on Amazon for just $9. view ON AMAZON 6. Headphones, Too! ©Disney Last but not least, we have headphones! One member of our team is particularly fond of SHOKZ OpenRun Pro 2 Bluetooth Headphones, as they sit securely over the top of your ears, which is perfect for running. These are one of the pricier items on our list, sitting at around $180. view ON AMAZON Total Tally and Additional Costs So far, we’ve got a registration cost that could vary from $175-$449, a hotel cost that could be anywhere from $1600-$4000 (or even more if you go pricier on your resort), tickets ranging from $400-$800, dining ranging from $300-$600, and about $400 worth of gear. This means that the cost for your trip, if you factor in just the elements above, could range from $2,875-$6,249 for five nights and a long weekend of running! Princess Minnie at the Finish Line for 2022 Disney Princess 5K But that isn’t all! There are still some additional factors to consider, depending on your personal situation. If you’re flying in, you will need to include the cost of flights and airport transportation. If you’re driving? Don’t forget the gas money! Those who prefer a fancier in-park experience will want to snag Lightning Lanes, and that adds cost to your daily total. And of course, PhotoPass Memory Maker is a good investment if you want those race pics and photos in the park afterward. runDisney banner So yes, these trips can be incredibly pricey! However, if you take the budget-friendly route, you can still have just as fun a time. And really, it’s all about doing what you came to do — finishing that race! 27. We’re getting SO excited for Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge, the newest hotel coming to Disney World. ©Disney This resort is set to open in summer 2027 and is going to be a Disney Vacation Club property on the edge of Bay Lake, near Magic Kingdom. It’s themed to combine Disney magic with nature, and so far, the concept art we’ve seen is STUNNING. But with the latest batch of updates, it looks like something has changed with the hotel lobby. Back in 2019, this hotel was originally announced as Reflections — A Lakeside Lodge. It was going to open in 2022, but construction was halted due to the global pandemic. When construction resumed, the project got some changes, including a name update to Lakeshore Lodge! This means that we’ve also seem some pretty major differences in the old concept art and the new concept art. ©Disney The earlier renderings of the lobby of this resort featured a Disney-inspired nature theme. The main focal point of the space was a statue of Pocahontas, surrounded by wind-like decorations on the ceiling. We don’t often see such overt Disney character features in the Deluxe Resort lobbies at Disney World, so this was an interesting look. ©Disney In the latest update about the resort, we got new concept art for the lobby space. Disney says, “When guests arrive at Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge, they’ll step into the lobby and become immersed in the sights and sounds of nature. Spectacular floor‑to‑ceiling windows will welcome natural sunlight and showcase sweeping views of The Wetlands outdoor recreation area, allowing the local flora and fauna to flow seamlessly into the architecture, artwork, and ambiance.” ©Disney But the big thing we noticed with this new lobby concept art (pictured below) is that the Pocahontas statue has been removed! The lobby will still draw inspiration from Pocahontas, but now, it will feature a fiberoptic river that illuminates the floor and a blown-glass Colors of the Wind sculpture. There will be hundreds of suspended glass leaves that “fill the space with movement, color, and wonder.” Honestly, it sounds and looks incredibly stunning! We’ll be excited to see it in person. Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge ©Disney In addition to the beautiful lobby, we know that Lakeshore Lodge will feature three new dining locations, an entire outdoor recreation area called The Wetlands, and a spot called Dandelion Terrace, where visitors can gather to watch Magic Kingdom fireworks each evening. Dandelion Terrace ©Disney We’ll continue to share more information about Lakeshore Lodge as it is released, so subscribe to our newsletter and follow us on social media for the latest. 28. It’s been a big day of news for Disney Springs, and now we’ve got even MORE that you don’t want to miss out on. Blueberry Lemonade Cookie from Gideon’s Bakehouse Six Ravens just officially soft-opened, and we found out that there are over 80 Halloween treats coming to Disney Springs for the spooky season, but that’s not all. Gideon’s Bakehouse has just revealed that there’s a semi-secret limited-time offering available right now that you will NOT want to miss out on! Gideon’s Bakehouse just announced on their Facebook page that the new Blueberry Lemonade Cookie Bite is available for purchase! Cookie Bites are often available on the menu here, but they’re more of an “if you know, you know” item, as they’re not advertised. Cookie Bites are created when the company takes one of their almost half-pound cookies, cuts it into quarters, and dips it in premium Dark Chocolate. Some think they’re a great way to sample flavors, and while we don’t disagree, these are also just a beautiful creation on their own. Gideon’s Bakehouse Andes Mint Cookie Bites The Blueberry Lemonade Cookie Bite currently available is made out of the Blueberry Lemonade Cookie, which is made with a naturally sweet blueberry-lemon mixture cookie, topped with a small fortune worth of delectable yogurt mini chips, and then a sprinkling of agave crunch & vibrant blueberry sugar is added to complete it. They’re only available from August 4th through 9th, so you’ll need to act fast! ©Gideon’s Bakehouse While Cookie Bites aren’t always on the menu, we think it’s worth asking when you visit, because no matter what the flavor is, it’s hard to be disappointed by them. Seriously, don’t miss out on these! More Recent Disney Springs News!
