Since its opening 40 years ago, The Living Seas Pavilion has long been a favorite of many fans due to its large aquarium and wide array of sea life. Even with the mid-2000s addition of Turtle Talk with Crush and overall retheme to The Seas with Nemo and Friends, much of the pavilion has barely changed since 1986. The Seas with Nemo and Friends However, recently something NEW just debuted at The Seas with Nemo and Friends that’s changing how many guests spend their time at the pavilion, and this brings about a new rule you MUST follow. EPCOT just introduced a new species of fish to its 5.7 m aquarium! The Napoleon Wrasse, a fish that the EPCOT aquarium has never had before, is indigenous to the Indo-Pacific area. A male Napoleon Wrasse can reach 90 inches long and 421 pounds. ©Disney Also known as a Humphead Wrasse due to the hump on the foreheads of adults of the species, they are endangered and are now protected in many countries. The Seas’ newest resident is named Toa after the Maori word meaning “warrior” or “victor.” ©Disney This new addition to The Living Seas provides a new reason to engage in one of our favorite pastimes at the pavilion: Taking some time to watch the animals swimming in the aquarium, while taking a moment to appreciate the beauty of nature… and air conditioning! Seriously, on a hot and busy day at the park, there are few things more centering than cooling down and observing the thousands of creatures that call the aquarium home. The Aquarium While you’re relaxing, it may be a good time to plan out where you’re eating later that day. Our Guide to Disney World Dining pulls it all together so you can stop stressing and focus on the fun without feeling like you’re missing a thing! Plus, as we’re approaching the holidays, you can also play a fun game of spotting all the new Holiday decorations that Disney sometimes slips into the tanks. Christmas Village So, the new rule? Take some time to visit the new resident at The Seas with Nemo and Friends! Stay tuned to DFB for more on everything NEW at Disney World. EPCOT has never been a park that sits still, and September is no different, as changes are hitting this park. EPCOT Between rotating festivals, shifting World Showcase marketplaces, and pavilions that always seem to have something new cooking, it can honestly be hard to keep track of what’s changing week to week. As summer winds down, September is shaping up to be one of EPCOT’s busier months yet, with a beloved restaurant going dark, a brand-new exhibit debuting, and a few festival favorites evolving. 1. Coral Reef Restaurant Is Closing If Coral Reef Restaurant is on your must-do list, you’ll want to hold off. The Seas with Nemo & Friends’ underwater dining room is set to temporarily close beginning September 8th, and Disney hasn’t given a specific reason why. A reopening is expected “later in 2026,” but no firm date has been announced. Coral Reef Restaurant This closure follows an earlier cutback at Coral Reef: back in January, the restaurant dropped lunch entirely and shifted to a dinner-only schedule. Between that change and now this closure, it’s worth wondering whether more permanent changes are ahead for this longtime spot. If you want one more meal beside the reef’s roughly 2,000 sea creatures, you’ll want to get a reservation in before September 8th. The windows are pretty iconic! 2. “Cheers to Cheese!” Exhibit Opens Cheese fans, this one’s for you. Starting September 18th and running through November 8, CommuniCore Hall will play host to “Cheers to Cheese!”. This is a NEW interactive exhibit coming to the festival this year! Guests can browse the “Cheers to Cheese!” exhibit, which explores the history of cheese with added fun facts. The exhibit arrives as part of the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival and pairs nicely with the returning Emile’s Fromage Montage food stroll, which sends guests around World Showcase to sample cheese-forward dishes and collect stamps along the way. Expect playful facts, photo ops, and plenty of puns for anyone who considers cheese its own personal food group. 3. A New Fireworks Dining Package at Shiki-Sai Over in the Japan Pavilion, Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya is rolling out a new Fireworks Dining Package, with reservations opening August 27th. The package centers on a set menu — an appetizer, traditional sashimi, a sushi selection, and an exclusive dessert and beverage only available with this option — enjoyed with upstairs views of World Showcase Lagoon as Luminous: The Symphony of Us lights up the sky around 9 PM. Shiki Sai Pricing breaks down like this: Ages 10+: $120 per person (about $149.50 after tax and gratuity) Ages 3–9: $60 per person (about $74.70 after tax and gratuity) However, when we checked the Disney World website page for the Shiki-Sai dining package later, it seemed to be gone from the site. That’s a steep price tag, and given Shiki-Sai’s small footprint and already-tough reservation windows, we wouldn’t be shocked if this books up quickly once it goes live. We’ll be watching closely to see when it will debute. Tokyo Negi Roll 4. Eat to the Beat’s Lineup Keeps Changing We know, we know — Eat to the Beat Concert Series technically kicks off on August 27th, so it’s not exactly “new” in September. BUT, because the lineup rotates throughout the festival’s run (nightly through November 16th), the artists taking the America Gardens Theatre stage in September will look pretty different from opening week. This year’s series brings in several EPCOT first-timers alongside returning crowd favorites. Dining Packages Sep 1-3: Evolution: Motown Sep 4-5: The War and Treaty (NEW) Sep 6-7: Yellowcard Sep 8-10: Fly Guys Sep 11-12: Couch (NEW) Sep 13-14: Fitz and the Tantrums (NEW) Sep 15-17: Latin Ambition Sep 18-19: MercyMe Sep 20-21: Grupo Manía (NEW) Sep 22-24: Metro Latino Band Sep 25-27: Element Sep 28-29: New Found Glory Sep 30: Smash Mouth Shows run three times nightly, seating is first-come-first-served, and admission is included with your EPCOT ticket — though a dining package is available if you’d rather lock in a seat (and a meal) ahead of time. End of the line all the way in Norway 5. Food & Wine Festival Rolls On Tying a lot of this together is the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival itself, running now through November 21st. September will have the festival in full swing, with dozens of Global Marketplaces serving up bites from around the world alongside returning favorites like Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak. Mexico Booth at Food & Wine Festival 2025 If you’re hoping to pair a festival visit with shorter lines, take note: EPCOT’s 2026 After Hours Events are wrapping up, with its final two nights of the year landing on September 16th and 24th. The separately ticketed event runs from 9:30 PM to 12:30 AM with early entry starting at 7 PM and includes complimentary snacks plus lower waits on popular attractions. Popcorn and water at EPCOT After Hours From a dining closure to a new festival exhibit to a splurge-worthy fireworks package, EPCOT is proving once again that no two visits look quite the same. We were not expecting this Disney change, and it’s safe to say we are pretty sad about it. ©Disney It has just been announced that the Play Disney Parks app is retiring next month. Scott Gustin shared on X that Disney is planning to retire this app starting on September 16th. In case you don’t know, the Play Disney Parks app powers many interactive games and experiences around both Disneyland and Disney World. Who Will Be a Trivia Master?! ©Disney This app has lots of trivia and games to play in line for attractions. However, it was best known for several interactive games, including Star Wars: Datapad, Batuu Bounty Hunters, and DuckTales World Showcase Adventure. These games allowed you to explore the parks and find actual hidden details that could interact with the app on your phone as you played the games. Our Bounty ©Disney Batuu Bounty Hunters will still be available even after the app is gone through MagicBand+ and the existing screens throughout the land, but Star Wars: Datapad will be gone with the app. And Disney has not yet shared whether DuckTales World Showcase Adventure will continue after the app is retired. So if you want to take advantage of the last few weeks of these games and experiences around the parks, make sure to do so soon because as of September 16th, the app will not be available to download and existing users will not be able to log in. @Scott Gustin We will continue to bring you all of the Disney news across both coasts, so stay tuned to Disney Food Blog so you never miss anything! We’re heading into one of the most popular times of year to visit EPCOT! EPCOT The International Food & Wine Festival is right around the corner, and it’s the time when this park’s dining SHINES. Many Disney fans plan trips simply to experience this festival! But if you’re heading to EPCOT in October, we’ve got a warning to share with you. In late October 2026, Disney World hosts the runDisney Wine & Dine Half Marathon in conjunction with the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival. Portions of the route for those races are located inside the theme parks, which means that these events can sometimes effect park hours. That’s the case for two days during the weekend at EPCOT. ©Disney On Friday, October 23rd and Sunday, October 25th, EPCOT will open an hour later than usual, starting at 10AM. Early Theme Park Entry for Disney Resort guests will be at 9:30AM. The park will still close at 9PM both of those days, so the park hours will be shorter than usual. Wine & Dine Merch from 2023 If you’re visiting during that weekend, you may want to plan around this schedule change if you’re hoping for maximum park hours. However, one thing we’ve noticed is that when park hours are shortened, the park is often a little less crowded. So perhaps, this could be the key to getting low wait times on rides? It may not be as effective, since it’s still a race weekend, but it’s worth a shot if you’re willing to gamble. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party has officially kicked off in Disney World and, of course, we were there on opening night reviewing all of the new snacks, meeting exclusive characters, experiencing attraction overlays, and trick-or-treating! Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Treat Bag There are A LOT of things to do and remember at this special-ticketed event, so it’s common to make a mistake or two. While we were there on opening night, we saw some brutal mistakes, and we’re here to tell you about them, so you don’t make them, too. Watching the First Parade Mickey’s Boo to You! Halloween Parade has two showtimes throughout the night: 8:15 PM and 11:15 PM. While we get that you’re excited and want to see the parade as soon as possible, we recommend waiting until the second parade to watch. Guests with young children tend to leave the party earlier, causing the park to become less crowded. In the earlier months of the party, it will also still be light out with the sun setting later, so you won’t be able to watch the parade in full darkness. Although the second parade was still very crowded (more than in years past), it was still less crowded than the first showing. Mickey’s Boo to You! Halloween Parade 3 Popular Rides CHANGE During Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Waiting Until Last Minute to Find a Parade/Fireworks Spot These Halloween parties can get CROWDED, especially when it comes to live entertainment. If you want to guarantee a front-row spot to watch, we recommend arriving at least 30 minutes before their designated showtimes. In the past, the second Halloween parade was much less crowded than the first, but this year it was way more crowded — so crowded that even one person may find it hard to find a spot closer to showtime. So, if you want to guarantee your spot, show up early because you may not find one otherwise. Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular It’s a SOLD OUT Night at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, and You Can Tell Trick-or-Treating When the Party Begins One of the best parts of the Halloween party is getting free candy at the trick-or-treat spots around the park, but we recommend waiting a bit before you start. Use the start of the party to try the exclusive food offerings like the Graveyard Hot Chicken and Waffle at Sleepy Hollow or the Hades Cake Pop at the Lunching Pad. The reason you should grab food over going trick-or-treating is that some of these spots close earlier than the party ends. But don’t wait until the last minute to do your trick-or-treating either! We saw long lines for candy five minutes before the end of the night. Let’s go trick-or-treating! Disney Just UPGRADED Trick-Or-Treating at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Getting in Line for Jack Skellington & Sally at 4 PM In the past, we’ve always recommended getting in line to meet Jack Skellington and Sally as soon as possible, especially if you have a day ticket to the park. However, we’re saying the opposite this year! When their line opened at 4 PM, Jack and Sally had a whopping 120-minute wait! This wait decreased as the party went on, so if they’re not on your priority list, we’d recommend waiting until later in the party to meet them. Jack Skellington and Sally! FULL LIST of All the Characters You Can Find at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party This Year! Buying Merchandise at the Start of the Party The merchandise for this year’s party is absolutely STUNNING; however, we’d recommend waiting until later in the party to grab it. If there’s something you think will sell out, like limited edition pins, feel free to grab those at the start — they’re small enough to fit in your bag anyway! But other merchandise like shirts and bags will likely be available by the end of the night, especially if you’re going to an earlier party in August or September. You don’t want to be lugging around a shopping bag the whole night, do you? Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Crossbody Loungefly Ready Your Wallets! Here’s A Look At The Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2026 Souvenirs Watching the Hocus Pocus Villains Spelltacular Before Midnight There are multiple showings of the Hocus Pocus Villains Spelltacular throughout the night, but one of those showings is actually when the party ends at midnight. This is about a 20-minute show, so if you have enough gas in the tank left when that midnight showing comes around, we recommend seeing that one. This way, you won’t have to spend party time watching it, and you’ll get to stay to watch after the party officially ends! Other showtimes include 9:05 PM and 10:35 PM, with an additional show at 7:35 PM added starting October 1st. Here at Disney Food Blog, we keep you informed of all Disney news. Josh D’Amaro at Destination D23, 2023 ©Disney And today we will discuss Josh D’Amaro’s response to ongoing threats from the FCC. The Daily Beast has reported that the FCC, or the Federal Communications Commission, has issued several threats to ABC shows such as Jimmy Kimmel: Live! and The View. And at D23 this year, Disney CEO Josh D’Amaro spoke up: “Our position on this is clear. We’re very principled on this. We’re going to stand up to what we believe is journalistic integrity. And we’re not going to be told how to run that side of our business. Our filings, I think, speak for that. I like what we do. We tell incredible stories. I think we do it well. We do it around the world. And we’re going to stay committed to that.” Josh D’Amaro at SXSW 2023 ©Disney This statement comes months after the FCC review of eight local ABC shows, as well as The View, began. The FCC ordered these reviews back in April, soon after the current Administration was calling for the dismissal of Jimmy Kimmel. FCC Chairman Carr has also claimed that these reviews are a part of a larger investigation into Disney’s DEI policies. ©Jimmy Kimmel Live! However, the story does not end here. Variety has reported that ABC has filed a First Amendment lawsuit against the FCC. According to ABC’s lawyers, they had “no alternative means to eliminate these ongoing and immediate threats other than total capitulation to the Administration’s demands.” ©ABC We will continue to keep you informed on how this situation unfolds, so stay tuned to Disney Food Blog so you do not miss anything. We are still pinching ourselves after the Disney Experiences Showcase at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, because, well, did that really happen? Did we finally get some new details about all these lands and rides and THE YETI GETTING FIXED and DREAMFINDER RETURNING? Yes, our minds are still blown. ©Disney During that presentation, though, Disney also dropped a TON of new details about the upcoming Villains Land in Magic Kingdom, and well, in case you didn’t have a chance to keep up with it all (because there was a LOT of information coming at us FAST), we’re going to list the Villains Land announcements you need to know. The Name The first thing Disney confirmed for the Villains Land was the name. Now, Disney just decided to go with something simple, and well, it’s just that: the Villains Land is going to be called “Villains Land.” It’s easy to remember, right? ©Disney It makes sense, though. Every other land in Magic Kingdom ends with “land,” so this one should, too, even if it’s bringing a darker edge to Magic Kingdom. Storyline Disney also shared details about the land’s storyline, and let’s just say, we weren’t kidding when we said it’s darker. Here’s how it goes: a Wishing Well was once used for an evil wish that was so bad it corrupted the well, tearing it apart. Poisoned magic spilled from the well into the forest, which has tempted the Villains to come here to try and claim that power for themselves. ©Disney The Villains used the dark magic to create their lairs, which you will see in the land, and now invite you to try a “tantalizing trove of treats, trinkets, and more temptations.” The land is also going to be MASSIVE, and Disney compared it to the size of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Maleficent Coaster We also learned about one of the thrill rides in Villains Land, a Maleficent-themed roller coaster. This will be one of two attractions in the area, in addition to shops and restaurants. The coaster will bring you face-to-face with Maleficent and have you racing through the enchanted briar that surrounds her fortress. ©Disney Disney also teased that the roller coaster would use technology and elements that Disney has never attempted before on similar rides. Magic Mirror Dark Ride The second ride will be a dark ride (with the concept art suggesting a boat ride) that will start in the catacombs of the Evil Queen’s palace. There you’ll find the Magic Mirror and travel through it to meet a bevy of Disney Villains, such as Jafar, Dr. Facilier, Ursula, Cruella, and Scar. ©Disney Disney will be using a combination of special effects and physical set pieces to bring this ride and its Villains to life. We are so excited for Villains Land to open, but Disney hasn’t confirmed any sort of opening timeline, so we probably have quite a bit to wait. Make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more Disney news. Close-Up Look at the NEW Villains Land Coaster Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! Oogie Boogie Bash is almost here at Disney California Adventure in Disneyland! The special event runs on select nights from August 18th to October 31st, with some nights already selling out (so you’ll want to grab those tickets fast!). ©Disney One of the new experiences coming to the party is Madame Leota’s Swining Wake — A Haunted Mansion Street Party, and new photos have just been released. Let’s just say this is a Haunted Mansion fan’s DREAM. Check this out! It looks like it’s straight out of the Haunted Mansion and we’re totally nerding out. From the details on the tightrope walkers’ dress to the dancers wearing the Cast Member costumes and even the crocodile hanging out by the edges, we’re going to be in total awe when we see it for ourselves. If you look a little bit behind, you can see the ballroom dancers, too. ©Disney On another float, we see the bride, her bouquet surrounded by ghosts. D23 is over, which means it’s time to sit back and really take in all of the announcements that came flying at us over the weekend. ©Disney Between movie news, park updates, and so much more, D23 really gave us a lot of news this year. And one of the most exciting announcements of the entire weekend was the updates we got on Villains Land coming to Magic Kingdom. Disney shared so much about Villains Land, including a glimpse into the style of the land, the official name, and even a brand-new roller coaster. Well, today we are diving in and taking an in-depth look at the concept art for this new coaster as well as all of the details Disney has shared so far. This brand-new coaster is set to be themed to The Mistress of All Evil herself, Maleficent. ©Disney This coaster will be a thrilling ride through the enchanted briar that surrounds her castle fortress. The coaster is also set to include elements that Disney has never attempted on similar attractions. We don’t know yet what these elements will be, but we are already excited to experience this ride. ©Disney The concept art shows the ride vehicle racing through the briar with Maleficent’s brooding fortress visible off in the distance. It also shows an image of Maleficent next to the track with the shadow of her dragon form cast behind her, which could be a hint to a possible animatronic guests will be able to see on the ride. ©Disney You can also see her iconic green fire, which we also hope to see incorporated into the ride. Overall, we see a lot of purple and green to mimic her iconic colors, which we also think will play heavily into the visual design of this attraction. ©Disney The ride vehicle itself also has a metal dragon on the front, with the rest of the cars mimicking the metalwork design. This attraction looks like it will be spooky, thrilling, and beautifully designed. After all, it’s themed to Maleficent, so we wouldn’t expect anything else! ©Disney We will continue to bring you all the Villains Land news and updates, so stay tuned to Disney Food Blog so you never miss anything! When it comes to deciding what shoes to wear in the Disney parks, you’ve got a lot of options. Cinderella Castle We know firsthand how awful it can be when the WRONG choice is made (yes, we’ve been there more times than we care to admit), so we’re often on the lookout for what the best shoes are for the parks. During hurricane season, like we’re in now, when rainy days are common, it’s good to have shoes that won’t get soaking wet and give you blisters for the rest of the trip. That’s just one of the reasons lots of Disney fans are switching over to Tevas, and we gotta say — we’re totally on board. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. They’re Built To Last The Weather ©Amazon If you’re looking for a shoe that’s going to withstand the trip, especially on those rough weather days, a pair of the Teva Women’s Hurricane XLT 2 Sport Sandals is a great way to go. True to the name, these can easily hold up against those days of sloshing through water when the parks don’t drain how they should, and the wind is positively whipping. No need to worry about blisters either, since these dry within minutes of the rain stopping. Grab on Amazon! Not To Mention, They’re Casual But Functional ©Amazon Considering there are so many different designs available online, like the Teva Women’s Midform Universal Sandals, it’s easy to find something that will work great for your trip. Tevas are known for being nice and casual for the parks, but depending on what design you get, you can also dress them up a tad for a summer night dining reservation. It’s just another thing we love about them! Grab on Amazon! Don’t Need Any Extra Height? No Worries! ©Amazon If you’re someone who’s concerned about how chunky some of the Teva designs are, there’s no need to stress. The Teva Women’s Original Universal Slim Sandals are likely right up your alley. They’re nice and thin, while also still being able to withstand the elements and the miles a park day requires. Grab on Amazon! They Don’t Break The Bank ©Amazon Something that we love about Tevas is that they’re not here to make you broke and question your life decisions. They’re built to last and be comfortable shoes, but you’re not paying an arm and a leg for them. When in doubt, we recommend looking at the tried-and-true classic — the Teva Women’s Original Universal Sport Sandals. Grab on Amazon! We’re not going to lie. Our heads are STILL spinning after all the announcements Disney made during its Experiences Showcase several nights ago at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. SO much stuff is HAPPENING. We got more details about Magic Kingdom’s Cars expansion, Monstropolis in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Villains Land in Magic Kingdom, and more. We even learned that Dreamfinder is returning to EPCOT. ©Disney But Dreamfinder isn’t the ONLY Disney character making a comeback. Disney also shocked us with an announcement that they are finally fixing the Yeti on Expedition Everest in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. So, let’s take a closer look at that announcement and what it might mean for the ride. Well, it seems Disney finally decided on a solution to fix the Yeti now that it’s been announced. However, it’s also very likely that the fix will require Expedition Everest to be closed for a long time, perhaps for even a year or longer. Disney has not yet given a timeline on when the ride will close, but if we had to guess, we might think it will be after the new land, Pueblo Esperanza, opens, or there won’t be very many rides left in Animal Kingdom to ride! Right now, with the closer of DinoLand, U.S.A., only five rides remain open in the park. Overview of Pueblo Esperanza coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom We’ll be keeping an eye out for more announcements about Expedition Everest, so stay tuned to DFB for more. As if we didn’t get enough major news during D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event this past weekend, there’s MORE news out of Disneyland Resort you won’t want to miss. Disney California Adventure Disney gave us a look at the new Avatar Land and Avengers Campus expansion coming to Disney California Adventure during the event this weekend, but now there’s another announcement about the park — a new kiosk is on its way! Disney has just announced on their @disneyeats Instagram page that a new kiosk that will serve up light bites and brews is coming to DCA later this year. It’ll be called Bountiful Valley Brews, and that’s about all we know about this new spot! Since it’s a kiosk, it’s likely this will be a grab-and-go spot rather than an indoor area or a spot with lots of seating. @disneyeats on Instagram Right now, it hasn’t yet been announced where this stand will be in the park or what the menu offerings will be, but you can bet we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for more information. We’ve got a feeling this will be quite the popular offering, seeing as it’ll be a way to grab an alcoholic drink and snack without waiting for a reservation,or sitting down for a quick service meal. Here at Disney Food Blog, we love grabbing a meal at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. Whether you’re whoopin’ it up at Whispering Canyon Cafe, having a refined and relaxed meal at Artist Point, or grabbing a bite to go at Roaring Fork, it’s almost always a good time! The spread! Bars and Lounges around Disney World are family-friendly spots to grab a table-service bite or meal with no reservations needed, and a fantastic spot to nosh is Territory Lounge in Wilderness Lodge. But is it still a must-try spot? Let’s find out! Atmosphere Step into Territory Lounge and you’re immediately enveloped by dark woods, leather trim, and dim lantern lighting. The bar is rarely crowded, and there is comfortable seating throughout. We love the padded, backed barstools, and the round tables offer plenty of room for groups. Territory Lounge But enough about the restaurant – what’s on the menu here?! Menu The Territory Lounge has a wide selection of drinks, including wine, beer, hard cider, hard seltzer, and seven featured cocktails. The drink menu The Shareable Bites menu offers pub food, but with polish. You’ll find seven options, including popcorn, charcuterie, flatbreads, bacon, macaroni, and crab dip. The food menu And now, onto the main event – the food! Drinks To drink, we picked up the Orange-spiced Sangria for $18.50. This is made with Chateau Ste. Michelle Cabernet Sauvignon, Cointreau Liqueur, apple cider, and house-made spiced orange syrup. Orange-spiced Sangria The most prominent taste in this Sangria is the autumnal spices from the apple cider, complemented by the orange flavors, with a hint of the red wine at the end. This was well-balanced and not too sweet, and it’s a great pick if you’re craving fall flavors while it’s still warm out. Orange-spiced Sangria Eats First up, we grabbed the Artisanal Cheese and Charcuterie for $22. This includes handcrafted bread and accompaniments. Artisanal Cheese and Charcuterie There’s a variety of cheeses from strong blue cheese to a sharp cheddar to a creamy, soft burrata ball. As for the meats, the prosciutto was salty, the cured beef was fatty, and the beef-and-pork cured meat had a little bit of spice. There were also crackers, grapes, pickles, carrots, and even pickled cauliflower to pair with the meat and cheese. This was a great variety, and it’s easily shareable if you’re with a group. Artisanal Cheese and Charcuterie Then, we got the Caprese Flatbread for $18. This is a flatbread topped with basil pesto, roasted tomatoes, fresh mozzarella pearls, prosciutto crisp, and balsamic glaze. Caprese Flatbread The flatbread was chewy, soft, and absolutely smothered in fresh basil-forward pesto. The prosciutto was salty and crunchy and well complemented the traditional Caprese elements like tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil. There’s a small sprinkling of red pepper on top, which gave a little spice to every bite and kept things interesting. Caprese Flatbread Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… If you want a “Wilderness Lodge but make it cozy-and-cocktails” moment. Territory Lounge is a top-tier hideout. It’s rustic, warm, woodsy, and feels like you should be telling ghost stories… except the only haunting is how fast your snack disappears. Disney lists it as open 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM, so it’s a great post-park decompression stop or a pre-dinner “we’re just having one drink” lie. If your crew is adults, this is an easy yes. The menu is built for grazing: a popcorn sampler with multiple flavors (chaotic in the best way), an artisanal cheese and charcuterie board, and flatbreads that can absolutely become “accidental dinner.” Shareable bites are listed as available until 9:30 PM, which is a nice heads-up for late-night snack strategists. If you’re with a mixed group (including older kids/teens), it’s still workable because the food is approachable and the vibe is relaxed. Also: it’s one of those lounges where you can actually hear each other talk, which is rarer at Disney than a quiet stroller. You should skip this Disney World spot if… If you need guaranteed seating at a specific time. Remember: lounges can be a little “may the odds be ever in your favor,” especially in the early evening. It’s also right by Artist Point, and it can pick up overflow traffic when that restaurant is busy. If you’re rolling with very little kids who need fast food and constant movement. This may not be the best fit. It’s more “sip, snack, chill” than “feed the tiny tornadoes and flee.” (For that, Roaring Fork is usually the better call.) If you’re trying to do ultra-budget dining. This is still a lounge with Disney pricing. It’s a good value for the experience, but it’s not a bargain bin, and it’s very easy to go from “one flatbread” to “plus charcuterie because we deserve joy.” In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond. There’s a great big beautiful tomorrow, shining at the end of every day! Carousel of Progress At Disney World, that big beautiful tomorrow involves a new version of the Carousel of Progress in Tomorrowland, and we seriously couldn’t be more excited. With D23: The Ultimate Fan Event just happening, Disney shared tons of updates on the changes, but when we heard this bit of news, we literally gasped out loud because it’s that good. Bob Gurr is working on the newest version of the Carousel of Progress! Yes, you heard that right. One of the original Disney Imagineers, who has worked for Disney since 1954 and was hired by Walt Disney himself, is working on the attraction. D23 Announcement The Carousel of Progress is getting entirely new scenes, starting with the 1960s and then going to the 1980s, 1999, and the possible future. We got a better look at some of the scenes, and everything looks so cool. It’s a great way to keep the spirit of the Carousel of Progress alive in a new way for a wider audience. ©Disney You might remember Rover from the attraction, the family’s friendly dog. Rover was n ot originally involved in the ride until Gurr brought up the idea. He had an old idea of Rover picking a random guest in each scene to growl at and even teased about possibly bringing that back! We would love to see that. Rover With the new changes, they are making everything as accurate as possible, including the furniture from the era. There’s also going to be an introductory scene with Disney World’s first Walt Disney animatronic (they already have one in Disneyland!) that we’re super excited to see. Imagine how Bob Gurr felt working on a project to build a robotic version of his old boss? What a feeling! The announcement at D23 last year! The attraction is already closed at Magic Kingdom for work, but it’s expected to reopen in late spring 2027. We also learned that Bryan Cranston will voice Father and Jamie Lee Curtis will voice Mother. Uh, yeah, that’s AWESOME. Looking great! Surprise, surprise! Even MORE construction has made its way to Disney World, and this time, it’s blocking a form of transportation for TWO hotels! FriendShip Boat at Yacht Club Resort There are several hotels currently undergoing construction, including Animal Kingdom Lodge’s Jambo House, BoardWalk Inn, and Fort Wilderness Campgrounds. And although this project isn’t on the resort itself, it does affect the way guests staying there are getting to the parks. The FriendShip boat dock at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts will be closed for maintenance from Monday, August 17th through Friday, August 21st. During this time, transportation via FriendShip boats will be unavailable. FriendShip Boats Sign These boats offer services to EPCOT, the BoardWalk, the Swan and Dolphin Hotels, and Hollywood Studios. This doesn’t mean there won’t be any way you can get to these places. The Yacht and Beach Club Resorts are within walking distance to EPCOT, just a short 10- to 15-minute walk to EPCOT’s International Gateway entrance. Walking Path If you take a right on the walking path before you get to EPCOT, that will take you to the BoardWalk, which is home to restaurants like The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers and Trattoria al Forno, live entertainment at night, and shopping. Disney’s BoardWalk The same goes with the Swan and Dolphin Hotels, but instead of taking a left toward EPCOT, you would take a right toward those hotels (unless you’re looking for a long walk and want to take the loop around the BoardWalk). Both hotels offer delicious dining options, including Rosa Mexicano, Todd English’s bluezoo, and Il Mulino. The Dolphin Hotel Finally, there are several ways you can get to Hollywood Studios during this closure. Direct bus transportation will be offered during this time at both the Yacht Club and Beach Club bus stops. You also have the option to walk over to the BoardWalk’s FriendShip boat dock and take the boat from there. And there’s also the Disney Skyliner outside of EPCOT’s International Gateway if you’re really not in a rush, which will take you to Disney’s Riviera Resort and Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort; then you will get off there and transfer to the Hollywood Studios’ line. The Skyliner at the International Gateway We never want you to be surprised by any closures on your Disney World vacation, so stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for more Disney news and updates like this!
