Since we’re the Disney Food Blog, we know one or two things about Disney World dining — the best snacks in the parks and at the resorts, where to find the best hidden gems, and how to get the best bang for your buck! Nomad Lounge Churros There are very few places to get brunch in Disney World, but there is one we are particularly fond of. And it’s not only because the food is delicious and the atmosphere is stunning, but it’s also because you can get FREE mimosas — that’s a win-win in my book! When Jellyrolls closed in 2025, we were devastated to say goodbye to the dueling pianos and the jovial vibes. But we were ECSTATIC when we learned that The BOATHOUSE at Disney Springs would be hosting The Captain’s Sing-Along Brunch with dueling pianos, a vast menu, and specialty drinks. And the best part about this brunch? It includes FREE mimosas! The BOATHOUSE This brunch is currently offered on weekends from 10 AM until 3 PM, and the dueling pianos play from 11 AM until 2 PM. You can enjoy a delicious meal on the water and even watch the Amphicars drive into the water if you get a spot outside! The BOATHOUSE Amphicars The BOATHOUSE has a nautical theme with decor, pictures, Cast Members in nautical uniforms, and, of course, the restaurant being on the water. There’s even a special table inside that’s in a real boat! Which brings us to how to get free mimosas… The Boat Table! If you come to brunch and wear a captain’s hat or a BOATHOUSE shirt, you can get a FREE mimosa! Play into the restaurant’s vibes while getting a free drink at the same time? Count me in! This special is limited to one per guest during your meal. Pearmosa! Brunch at The BOATHOUSE also offers a unique twist on their beloved dinner rolls. These are the same rolls served during lunch and dinner but are topped with a cinnamon icing! Because of the icing and the flavor, they reminded us of a warm cinnamon roll, which is DELICIOUS! It’s also served with whipped butter on the side. The rolls with cinnamon icing! They also offer a variety of entrees, including Shrimp & Grits, Avocado Toast, Crabcakes Benedict, Steak and Eggs, Breakfast Tacos, and Belgian Waffles! The United Kingdom Beer Cart is serving up a specialty cocktail for this year’s EPCOT Food & Wine Festival! Time for a drink! The 2026 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival has officially opened, and it has a LOT to offer. There are plenty of food booths with tasty items, merchandise items to grab (of course), and even concerts to watch. But don’t let it overwhelm you, we’ve got you covered with everything you need to know. And now we’re heading to the UK Beer Cart to check out a special drink. Menu The special Festival drink this year at the UK Beer Cart is a Sparkling Cucumber-Gin Cocktail. 2026 Menu Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu, let’s check out the drink. Drinks The Sparkling Cucumber-Gin Cocktail is made with Fords Gin, Blackberry Brandy, Cucumber Syrup, Minute Maid® Premium Lemonade, and Maschio Prosecco, and is priced at $17.50. Sparkling Cucumber-Gin Cocktail This drink is refreshing with the perfect amount of bubbles! It’s got strong blackberry and cucumber flavors that work together very well, which was pleasantly surprising. Each sip ends with a nice taste of citrusy gin rather than floral notes, and we’d totally get it again, especially on a hot summer day. OVERALL Lots of people may walk right past this spot and don’t expect it to have such a great offering for Food & Wine, but this is your warning to NOT skip this spot if you’re looking for a delicious drink that’ll be great for a summer day during the festival. While there are several major projects currently under construction in Disney World, including Piston Peak, Monstropolis, and Tropical Americas, there are arguably none more anticipated than Villains Land. After all, a full Magic Kingdom realm dedicated to Disney’s antagonists has been a major want of many fans since it was first rumored in the late 1990s! ©Disney Since Disney first confirmed the project and released early concept art back in 2024, the company has slowly dripped out news on the land’s design concepts, culminating in confirmation of the land’s official name — Villains Land (really) — the land’s overall story, ride themes, and other elements at the 2026 D23 Ultimate Fan Event. However, these latest looks have us wondering something about the land. According to Disney’s newly released story synopsis for the area, Villains Land will offer an “original take” on the company’s antagonists, set in a “vast, foreboding forest.”  Guests who enter will “come across a Wishing Well that’s been torn asunder.  Under most circumstances, a Wishing Well would indicate pure and good energy at work, but something dark happened to this one.  Once upon a time, someone made an evil wish here – a wish so evil it corrupted the stone and broke open the structure, spreading the Well’s poisoned magic throughout the forest.” This release of poisoned magic will, in turn, draw in “villains who have come here to try and claim the last of the Wishing Well’s power.” ©Disney The land will be home to two major attractions: A large Maleficent coaster, which will have guests come face-to-face with the Mistress of All Evil herself, as they “race through enchanted briar surrounding her frightening mountaintop fortress.” ©Disney A dark ride featuring a cavalcade of Disney Villains in which the Magic Mirror will “magically transport [guests] into his mystical Mirror Realm to see things on the other side of the mirror.  There, in his ethereal realm, [guests] will be transfixed by countless Disney Villains conjured in ways only the Magic Mirror can do. A combination of special effects and physical set pieces will bring his Mirror Realm.” ©Disney In addition to these details — and a video preview of the coaster model — Disney also had a physical model of a tree from the forest on hand at D23. Looking at their craggy and detailed dark designs, we were quite impressed… until we started thinking about what Villains Land will look like in the daytime. The Maleficent coaster model After all, the land will be outdoors, so it can’t be swathed in the eternal darkness that the story synopsis or concept art suggests. Will the daytime sunlight make the land’s imposing architecture and design look less threatening? Well, perhaps Disney’s biggest competitor can give us some clarity. The Dark Forest Model at D23 2026 Universal also has a new land themed to monstrous characters: Dark Universe. Like Villains Land, this Epic Universe area — a portal in the park’s parlance — is dedicated to the legendary film antagonists, in this case the Universal Monsters. Also, like Villains Land, Dark Universe has an in-depth backstory and an architectural style with thematic touches that (in case the name didn’t give it away) play better at night. The Portal to Dark Universe Take, for example, the Burning Blade Tavern… The Burning Blade Tavern … or the central Well of Darkmoor, used to feed the vampires who live underneath the land, which can look somewhat muted in the day… The Well of Darkmoor … yet both of which look significantly more imposing as the sun goes down. Dark Universe Given how Disney has presented Villains Land, wondering if the land may suffer the same issue seems to be a legitimate question to ask. The Norway Cart is joining the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival as a bonus location this year! Time for a new treat! The 2026 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival has officially opened, and it has a LOT to offer. There are plenty of food booths with tasty items, merchandise items to grab (of course), and even concerts to watch. But don’t let it overwhelm you, we’ve got you covered with everything you need to know. And now we’re heading to the Norway Cart to check out a special Festival item. Menu Over at the Norway Cart there’s one special item for this year’s EPCOT Food & Wine Festival — Caramel Cream and Gjetost Norwegian Brown Cheese Bolle. If you’re not sure what a Bolle is, it’s a filled sweet bread, and Gjetost is a type of cheese. We’re ready! Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu, let’s dive into the food itself! Eats The Caramel Cream and Gjetost Norwegian Brown Cheese Bolle is new for 2026 at the Food & Wine Festival! It’ll cost you $5.49. Caramel Cream and Gjetost Norwegian Brown Cheese Bolle To call this treat interesting and unique is an understatement. The bread is the classic, beloved soft bun we love from Norway. It’s moist, it’s fresh, and the caramel cream on the inside was nice and light, both in texture and in caramel flavor. It was plenty to let you know that the flavor of caramel was there, but it was far from overwhelming. The inside However, the piece of Gjetost cheese on the top totally threw us for a loop. It was incredibly thick, so much so that it coated our mouths unpleasantly, and the taste was so strongly savory that it was a stark difference from the sweetness of the rest of the treat. Our reporter didn’t feel that the flavors went well together, mixing a heavy, thick slice of cheese with light caramel cream, but if you’re someone who really enjoys contrasting flavors in a treat, it may be right up your alley. OVERALL While this certainly wouldn’t be a stop we’d swing by again to grab this Food & Wine treat, you can also find the classic School Bread treat here, instead of having to get in the sometimes long line for Kringla, and that’s a treat we’ll rave about for years to come. We’ve got a feeling the Caramel Cream and Gjetost Norwegian Brown Cheese Bolle really isn’t going to be for everyone, so unless you know you enjoy really complex, contrasting flavors, we’d recommend skipping this one. It’s time to CELEBRATE, and celebrate BIG, because a popular transportation option in Disney World is finally back open. Back open! Over at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, you’re located in the EPCOT Resorts area, meaning you’re super close to a bunch of other hotels and delicious dining options (not to mention EPCOT itself). For weeks now, the boat dock near Disney’s Yacht Club has been closed for refurbishment, and it took a little longer than expected to complete. We’ve got great news though — it’s finally back open! It’s true! The boat dock closed on August 17th for refurbishment and was scheduled to be available again on August 22nd. However, that wasn’t the case. We checked on the 22nd, and the boat dock was still closed. Finally, today, August 29th, we can confirm that it’s back open! It’s a few days late, but hey, that’s okay! We’re just thrilled it’s back open now. The dock is back open! During the closure, it was recommended that you walk to EPCOT’s International Gateway to get to the park, or then take the Skyliner nearby to get to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. You could also walk to one of the other FriendShip boat spots at the BoardWalk Inn and/or the Swan & Dolphin hotel docks. However, now that the boat dock is back open, there’s no need to stress about needing to find alternate transportation. We’re so happy it’s back open! When we were in the area on August 22nd, we could see that the top wooden planks had been removed, and the structural beams underneath were covered with plywood, so it didn’t look anywhere near being ready. A Cast Member confirmed that construction workers found more damage than anticipated and expected it to be closed for another week, even though the Disney World website listed the dock as open. When we’re at EPCOT, we love walking over to the Yacht Club for great coastal food and stunning water views. Seriously, what’s better than a yummy dinner followed by a sunset over Crescent Lake? Filet Mignon at Yachtsman Steakhouse One of our favorite restaurants at Yacht Club closed back in May, and it left us craving their signature bread and juicy steaks. But we have some great news – Yachtsman Steakhouse FINALLY reopened today! Yachtsman Steakhouse closed on May 11th for a refresh, and it just reopened today! We’re super excited to dine at the restaurant soon and get a closer look at all the new upgrades from the refresh. Yachtsman Steakhouse Even if the restaurant looks different, Yachtsman Steakhouse still has the same exact menu as before, and we can’t wait to eat some of our favorites. For appetizers, we love the Signature Bread, Lobster Bisque, and Caesar Salad. For your entree, you can’t go wrong with any of the steaks at this popular steakhouse! And if you’re feeling dessert, the Berries and Cream blew us away. The menu If you can’t get a table at this super-popular restaurant, head to the Crews Cup Lounge next door for some of the same menu items. This includes the Lobster Bisque for $19, Caesar Salad for $16, and the Yachtsman Signature Bread for $8. Crew’s Cup Lounge is themed after a port outpost with a cozy seafaring atmosphere, thanks to wooden detailing and lanterns, similar to the vibe of Yachtsman Steakhouse. We aren’t ashamed to admit that this freebie is one of our FAVORITE things about Disney After Hours at EPCOT! EPCOT Want to enjoy attractions, entertainment, character greetings, and select free snacks and drinks for three hours, all with minimal crowds? Then the Disney After Hours events might be the perfect vacation upgrade for you! These separately ticketed events are scheduled on select nights at Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and EPCOT. The events offer similar features at each of the parks, but there’s a hidden gem at EPCOT’s After Hours that we absolutely CAN’T miss! The Disney After Hours events kick off after the park has closed to regular day guests, so those with After Hours tickets can enjoy access to select park attractions with limited wait times, including headliner attractions like Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind! Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure Other entertainment and character meet-and-greets are sprinkled throughout the park as well, so there are plenty of ways to stay busy during the event’s three hours. Minnie Mouse at EPCOT After Hours On top of all of the attractions and entertainment, After Hours guests can also snag select ice cream novelties, popcorn, and drinks included with the cost of admission. The selection of free snacks and drinks is pretty similar between each of the After Hours parks, but there’s a unique treat in EPCOT that has us skipping alllll the other freebies! Mickey’s Ice Cream Bar In the Canada Pavilion of the World Showcase, there is a snack stand that offers free Maple Popcorn along with the standard bottled beverages! Maple Popcorn! We’re seriously OBSESSED with the Maple Popcorn, which is also available to purchase during the day at the Canada Popcorn Cart. It’s the perfect sweet-and-salty snack with prominent maple syrup flavor that’s balanced nicely by the standard salty popcorn. If you enjoy sweet-and-salty popcorn treats like kettle corn, this one is definitely worth grabbing — especially if you’re there for After Hours and can get it for free! Popcorn and water at EPCOT After Hours Of course, it’s nice to have some other free snack options as well, but we’re such big fans of the Maple Popcorn that we figure we might as well skip all the other treats and fill up on this quintessential EPCOT snack instead. Come with us as we stop by Block & Hans in EPCOT’s American Adventure Pavilion to check out this year’s special EPCOT Food & Wine Festival addition! Block & Hans The 2026 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival has officially opened, and it has a LOT to offer. There are plenty of food booths with tasty items, merchandise items to grab (of course), and even concerts to watch. But don’t let it overwhelm you; we’ve got you covered with everything you need to know. And now we’re heading Block & Hans to check out this year’s Food & Wine Festival specialty item. Menu This year, Block and Hans is serving up a special drink for the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival — a Spicy Strawberry-Mango Smoothie. 2026 Menu Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu, let’s dive in! Drinks The special Festival drink this year is the Spicy Strawberry-Mango Smoothie Minute Maid Strawberry Smoothie Mix with spicy mango syrup. The non-boozy version is $6.29. We did not taste any spice or heat at all until the very last sip. We did taste a bit of earthiness in addition to the strawberry and mango, which grounded the flavors and made them taste a little more upscale or gourmet, if you will, which makes this feel appropriate for Food & Wine. Spicy Strawberry-Mango Smoothie The consistency is somewhere between a slush and a smoothie. The Minute Maid strawberry smoothie base usually isn’t quite this icy, so we think whatever they’ve added to make it taste like mango and spicy has changed the consistency. We do like the way it drinks and feels on a hot day. It’s more drinkable than a slush, but you still get those little ice crystals in your mouth that feel cool and refreshing. We could drink a ton of these! Let’s give it a try! This doesn’t taste like a slush that you’ve just added syrup to. It doesn’t taste like a Jolly Rancher or some over-the-top concoction designed for kids or just to have photos taken of it. This is a grown-up, somewhat sophisticated drink for adults without alcohol, though you can add alcohol if you want. This is balanced enough for people who don’t like a spicy margarita or something of that sort, while there’s still enough spice, especially at the end, for people who want a spicy beverage but don’t want alcohol in it. This is tasty! You can also kick it up a notch and order the boozy version of this smoothie with Ole Smoky Strawberry Moonshine for $16.50. OVERALL We didn’t know how we were going to feel about this drink, but we were pleasantly surprised! We think this is something worth checking out during your time at the Food and Wine Festival, especially during a hot Disney day. This year-round spot is once again serving up a special Festival funnel cake! Pumpkin Pie Funnel Cake The 2026 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival has officially opened, and it has a LOT to offer. There are plenty of food booths with tasty items, merchandise items to grab (of course), and even concerts to watch. Let’s find out! Menu At the Funnel Cakes kiosk, you’ll find this year’s Festival Funnel Cake — the Pumpkin Pie Funnel Cake! 2026 Menu Let’s check out this new funnel cake! Eats The Pumpkin Pie Funnel Cake is a Funnel Cake with Pumpkin Pie Ice Cream, Whipped Cream, Dark Chocolate Sauce, Cinnamon Streusel, and Powdered Sugar. It is priced at $12.50 and is not available with a Dining Plan snack credit. Pumpkin Pie Funnel Cake The funnel cake itself is a plain vanilla funnel cake topped with powdered sugar, so it’s very sweet and crispy. The pumpkin ice cream on top tasted like pumpkin pie filling, but there wasn’t enough of it so we couldn’t get it in every bite. The dark chocolate sauce well complemented the pumpkin, adding some not-too-sweet flavors. The whipped cream tasted very fresh and housemade with a sweet vanilla flavor. Diving in OVERALL We really enjoyed this Pumpkin Pie Funnel Cake, and would strongly recommend it. The cold ice cream was much-needed in the heat. We’d recommend this to anyone wanting a pumpkin dessert that isn’t too over-the-top, because we didn’t get pumpkin in every bite. A LOT of construction work is happening in Disney World right now. So many new lands are in the works, including Piston Peak National Park, Villains Land, The Tropical Americas, and Monstropolis in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. ©Disney Disney Imagineering released a behind-the-scenes look at all of these exciting construction projects, and we also got a massive tour of the brand-new Monstropolis land, and we’re taking you with us! Imagineers revealed that Monstropolis’ main street will be called Dark Avenue. This street connects the Glob Theater, Harryhausen’s, Archie’s Scare Pig Pizza, and the Monsters, Inc. Laugh Factory. This is the model of the street in its early stages… ©Disney This is the construction site right now… ©Disney And here’s the concept art of Dark Avenue once it’s open! ©Disney We can also see the iconic X of the intersecting chopsticks entrance at the future site of Harryhausen’s! The restaurant still has a long way to go before it’s finished, but it’s starting to take shape. ©Disney The video also showed some of the details and architecture that’s being created for Monstropolis and how Disney is “monster-fying” the area to bring the city to life. Some of the details include adding teeth to windows, but we got a sneak peek at some additions we can’t see over the construction walls, like eyes on pillars and horns on the tops of doorframes. ©Disney Imagineers are currently building mock-ups of the buildings to ensure the color and texture before they climb up on scaffolding and do it to the real buildings in a couple of weeks! One of our favorite spots on Disney’s BoardWalk currently is Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs. It may seem like just a corn dog stand, but it’s far more than that — there’s a reason Disney brought it over to the East Coast from Disneyland Resort! Jalapeño Popper at Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs It’s rare that this spot lets us down, which is part of the reason we were super excited to try the new Jalapeño Popper that arrived on the menu recently. It only costs $7, which we thought was a steal…and then we tried it, and realized that was $7 we absolutely wished we had spent elsewhere. The Jalapeño Popper is available for $6.99, and we were really looking forward to trying it out, but to say we were disappointed is the understatement of the year. The Cast Members did recommend we get ranch with the popper, which did cost an additional $1. We put the popper in the ranch, and it immediately began falling off the stick, making it incredibly hard to eat. The ranch did help boost the flavor of the snack, but we don’t think it was enough to save the snack. With the ranch This just overall was incredibly hard to eat. It was falling apart from the very beginning, and we almost never got the batter and the pepper together; that’s how hard it was to bite. As for the taste, the batter tasted like food you’d find at a fair, and despite all that the pepper was stuffed with, it had nearly no flavor. This was VERY hard to eat The first half of the entire snack had no filling, and when you do get to the filling, there’s barely any of it to really give it a strong flavor. If you can compare it to what it looks like on the menu, it genuinely feels like false advertising due to the lack of filling. The pepper was surprisingly not spicy until the last few bites, though we don’t know if ours was just made poorly. There was barely any flavor Looking for more recent reviews? It’s that time of year again! Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights is back for another year of iconic seasonal frights, and this year the event features a brand-new lagoon show! Stranger Things: Return to Hawkins Stranger Things is, ahem, no stranger to Halloween Horror Nights, as the Netflix series has been a major part of the event several times, but never quite to the degree we’re seeing in 2026, thanks to Stranger Things: Return to Hawkins! The epic new lagoon show offers a laser-filled journey through all five seasons of Stranger Things, with clips projected on mist screens and buildings in the center of the park. The buildings around the lagoon turned into the WSQK radio station and the iconic Christmas light alphabet! So cool! The show is soundtracked to a series of classic tunes that played big parts in the series — including “Upside Down” by Diana Ross, “Baba O’Reilly” by The Who, “Should I Stay or Should I Go” by The Clash, “Every Breath You Take” by The Police, “Master of Puppets” by Metallica, and “Purple Rain” by Prince — in the guise of a radio broadcast by in-universe radio station WSQK. We were jamming to all of the songs! Return to Hawkins featured some of the best scenes from the TV show. We saw so many characters like El, Mike, Will, Dustin, Max, Steve, Nancy, and Robin in some of their most iconic moments! And in typical Halloween Horror Nights fashion, the scenes with the demogorgons and Vecna gave us a MAJOR scare! It’s Max! Of course, the lagoon show isn’t the only Stranger Things presence at this year’s event, as there’s also a house based on the fifth and final season of the series, an “authentic, visceral experience that places guests at the center of the ultimate battle to save Hawkinss” which features many locations from the final season, including the Wheeler House, Hawkins National Laboratory, the MAC-Z military base, the Upside Down, and the Abyss, plus encounters with the Demogorgons, and Vecna himself. ©Universal Stranger Things is a major part of 2026’s Halloween Horror Nights, including the music-filled Return to Hawkins lagoon show, which caps the night on an explosive, rockin’ note. An upcoming fireworks change could impact your future Magic Kingdom plans! Magic Kingdom Fireworks For many guests, a Magic Kingdom day isn’t complete without watching the Happily Ever After fireworks show to cap off the night. If that sounds like you, heads up that this upcoming change could shift your plans in the park! Happily Ever After is the nighttime fireworks show in Magic Kingdom, complete with lights, lasers, and projection effects. It takes place most evenings (although it may not be performed if the park is scheduled to close early for a special event that day), and the showtime typically fluctuates throughout different times of the year depending on daylight hours and park operating hours. Magic Kingdom Fireworks Currently, the Happily Ever After fireworks are scheduled to start at 10:00 PM on the evenings when a show takes place. However, that’s about to change! Beginning on Monday, August 31st, the start time for the Happily Ever After fireworks is changing to 9:30 PM. Happily Ever After The 9:30 PM start time for Happily Ever After will continue through early October, when the start time will be pushed up again to 9:00 PM beginning October 5th. If there’s one attraction I have to hide every Halloween season, it’s the Haunted Mansion. The 2026 EPCOT Food and Wine Festival has officially begun, and there’s still SO MUCH to look forward to! Pork Tenderloin from Bramblewood Bites This year’s EPCOT Food & Wine Festival kicked off on August 27th, and, of course, we were there bright and early to try allllll of the delicious eats and drinks that debuted for the festival. And if you thought Disney couldn’t possibly fit more food into this event, guess again — there’s still more to come later in the festival, including a brand new exhibit starting next month that’s all about CHEESE! We might have already eaten our way around all of the booths on the first day of the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival, but that doesn’t mean we’ve tried everything the event has to offer just yet! For one, a few of the festival food booths aren’t scheduled to open until later in the season. The Alps Booth Doesn’t Open Until October 2nd! There’s also plenty of fresh entertainment to look forward to over the course of the festival, including the brand NEW “Cheers to Cheese!” exhibit, an interactive exhibit that explores the history of cheese with added fun facts! We Can’t Wait to Celebrate CHEESE! The “Cheers to Cheese!” exhibit will open on September 18th and run through November 8th, 2026 at EPCOT’s CommuniCore Hall. We’re super excited to see what this new festival addition has to offer!
