Let’s talk about breakfast. Now, for some, it’s the most important part of the day, and if you’re visiting Disney World, you’ll definitely want something to fuel you up for full days in the parks. Now, there are a TON of options for breakfast in Disney World, including character dining experiences, but if you’re staying at your hotel, you might just want to grab something there. Peanut Butter Crunch Pancakes Well, for those staying at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, two new breakfast foods just arrived, so we made our way over to the hotel to try them…you know…for science, or breakfast science, if you will. First, we headed over to Rix Sports Bar & Grill to try the new Peanut Butter Crunch Pancakes for $20. This is three granola crunch buttermilk pancakes layered with bananas and candied walnuts, topped with creamy peanut butter sauce and served with choice of applewood bacon or kielbasa sausage. And, yes, that’s pricey for some pancakes. First off, we really wanted more peanut butter flavor. They WERE crunchy with the granola and the walnuts, so at least they lived up to that part of the name. We were also surprised by the whipped cream because it tasted high quality. It was dense and sweet, and gave the pancakes a more decadent taste. The bananas were soft and added sweetness, as well. You know those crazy topped pancakes at IHOP? The quality of these pancakes was about on par with that, so the $20 price tag feels a bit steep. They’re good pancakes We also made our way over to Barcelona Lounge to try the new Mickey Churro Cinnamon Roll topped with icing for $7.99. For a standard Disney cinnamon roll, we’d say this was good, but it’s not Gaston’s Tavern good. This cinnamon roll is very dense, so it’s shareable, plus it’s VERY sweet. We thought it might be super dry, and it wasn’t, but it still could have used more icing on top. It’s shaped like Mickey This one is super messy to eat, too. Pieces of icing and cinnamon sugar were just flying everywhere when we tried to dive into it. It’s something you might want to get if you’re staying at Coronado Springs and want something sweet, but we don’t think it’s worth a trip to the hotel if you’re not staying there. The new Spider-Man Coaster coming to Shanghai Disney is going through a HUGE part of the testing process right now, one that will take Imagineers through each millimeter of the attraction. From @waltdisneyimagineering on Instagram Yes, you heard us right: every millimeter! This is called Push-Pull testing, and let’s see exactly what this means and what it tests on the attraction. Walt Disney Imagineering just posted a video to Instagram detailing the very complicated Push-Pull testing currently underway at the Spider-Man Coaster. This is a test where the vehicle is taken through the entire track millimeter by millimeter, with the vehicle moving at one centimeter per second. While the Imagineers take all sorts of measurements to make sure all the clearance is correct and the attraction follows safety measures. From @waltdisneyimagineering on Instagram This is also the time when the Clearance Envelope is placed around the attraction. These are three large barriers that go around the ride vehicle and represent the area the guests take up. This is used so that if part of the ride touches the Clearance Envelope, Imagineers know adjustments need to be made. From @waltdisneyimagineering on Instagram This is an extremely slow process; they shared that traveling just 15 meters of the ride took them eight hours of work, but it is an important step in ensuring the safety of guests. Traveling has been a lot more expensive with all the high flight prices, and there’s a chance that those high prices won’t be going down anytime soon. On a flight Due to the rising prices of oil and jet fuel, flying has been getting more and more expensive throughout 2026. However, it looks like travelers could be stuck paying high airfares even if the cost of oil and jet fuel go down, according to major U.S. airlines and industry analysts. Let’s take a look at what could be on the horizon! Jet fuel prices skyrocketed earlier this year due to the war with Iran and have fluctuated ever since. They dropped a bit in the spring, then jumped back up in the summer. Due to the fluctuations, it’s been hard for airlines to plan ahead, giving them reason to be cautious about lowering ticket prices, said Brett House, an economist who teaches at Columbia Business School, according to ABC News. Air travel According to ABC, major U.S. airlines said that higher passenger revenue initially covered only part of the soaring fuel costs. Which is why it’s not only flight prices that have gone up, but baggage fees as well. However, airfares haven’t been matching fuel prices all year long. The Argus U.S. Jet Fuel Index plunged from an early April peak of $4.88 a gallon to a wartime low of $2.70 in June, but that never changed the average fares, as they remained elevated. Travel “Part of the disconnect between fuel prices and airfares comes down to timing,” said Brett House. “Airlines typically decide several months in advance how many flights to operate and seats to offer, factoring in expected fuel costs and other expenses. They begin selling tickets even earlier. While prices for seats on the same flight can change repeatedly, airlines can’t charge more for seats already sold if fuel prices suddenly spike.” “It’s not just the level of fuel costs that is a problem or a challenge for airlines,” House said. “It’s also the volatility.” Southwest Airlines Another issue is that airlines still need to make up for lost money. “When fuel prices jumped again in the summer, about 35% of United’s tickets for the final three months of the year were already booked and the airline could not increase those fares retroactively,” Chief Financial Officer Mike Leskinen said. “The airline expects to recover its higher fuel costs through revenue but not immediately,” he said. ©United Airlines While travelers are waiting for prices to solidify for the remainder of the year, there’s still a long way to go before the prices really start to drop to what we’ve seen before. In August, U.S. airfares were 23% higher than a year earlier, according to the Labor Department. Holiday flights are already encountering the highest airfares in a decade. Get ready to travel! Disney layoffs officially continue as several hundred employees have just been cut. If you’ve been following Disney news for the past several months, you know that layoffs and cost-saving measures have been a very hot topic for Disney Executives. Cinderella Castle And it looks like that pattern is continuing as hundreds more employees lose their jobs. Let’s dive into everything we know about this newest round of layoffs. Deadline has reported that a new wave of layoffs hits hundreds of Disney employees mainly working in tech and HR. These layoffs come as another step in Disney CEO Josh D’Amaro’s efforts to save money and cut costs across the company. This is the third, and smallest, wave of layoffs to hit the company in the past year. ©Disney These layoffs do not come as a large shock after the message from Disney’s Chief Legal and Global Affairs Officer Horacio Gutierrez that hinted at layoffs coming in the future. While his message did not directly mention layoffs or any specific plans, the tone made it fairly clear that a restructuring and wave of layoffs were likely, as they were working to make his division “a much smaller organization.” EPCOT He also alluded to AI and the desire to create a more automated work environment, which is also unsurprising after Disney recently appointed Karandeep Anand as the company’s very first Chief Technology Officer. Tower of Terror In addition to layoffs and the increased use of AI, Josh D’Amaro also recently implemented an early retirement program, which gave select executives the chance to retire early with certain benefits and incentives. All of these efforts seem to be only the start of Disney’s plans to save money and restructure across the company. For years, cruise lines have trained us to count ports like treasure: the more, the better. But in 2027, that logic may be changing. @Norwegian Cruise Line Cruising has been popular for such a long time that it seems almost infallible. With that said, one of the most prevalent cruising complaints we often hear is that cruises do not spend nearly enough time at port. A lot of cruises can squeeze a bunch of destinations into a week and barely leave you time to really soak the location in. That’s why travelers are increasingly looking for cruises that stay in port longer — and even overnight. The reality is that seeing fewer places can actually mean experiencing more. One of the biggest changes coming to the cruise industry could be a shift away from simply seeing as many destinations as possible and toward spending more meaningful time in the destinations you actually visit. Disney Wish Longer port calls, late departures, and overnight stays might become a bigger thing in 2027. For example, Norwegian Cruise Line is changing offerings in a major way — starting in winter 2027. This new season of sailings will bring with it the return of the Free at Sea Plus package, which will bring with it way more offerings, but we’re even more excited about the new sailing options. The Norwegian Gem In 2027 and 2028, the cruise line will offer over 370 voyages, and between September 2027 and April 2028, “guests can choose from itineraries ranging from two to 22 days, calling at 144 unique destinations across 47 countries.” There will be a strong focus on the Bahamas, the Caribbean, Bermuda, the Mexican Riviera, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. Per an official statement, these new sailings are “designed for deeper exploration” and feature an average port time of 9.5 hours, 71 late departures across 31 ports, and 70 overnight stays. This change was specifically implemented to “give travelers more time to immerse themselves in the culture and vibrancy of each destination.” Norwegian President and CEO Harry Sommer added, “With longer port stays, overnight calls, and our award-winning onboard experiences, guests can explore at their own pace and personalize every moment at ease.” ©Norwegian Cruise Line And that’s EXACTLY what cruisers have been asking for for decades. We wouldn’t be surprised to see most major cruise lines adopt something like this. Cruise Industry News reports that several cruise lines are putting greater emphasis on extended stays, including Princess, Azamara, Oceania, Atlas Ocean and Windstar. Regent Seven Seas has also introduced “Immersive Overnight” itineraries that can keep ships in port for up to three days. ©Norwegian Cruise Lines There is an obvious appeal to a cruise that promises a long list of destinations. It feels like you’re maximizing your vacation by seeing as much as possible in a single trip. HOWEVER, if you want more time to experience a destination, this new kind of itinerary is welcome. A typical cruise port call can involve arriving in the morning and departing in the late afternoon. It takes time to disembark, travel to an attraction, take an excursion, find lunch, and get back to the ship. It’s all so fast. That can be especially frustrating in destinations where the most interesting experiences happen later in the day. A city might have a fantastic restaurant scene, a really exciting nightlife, and/or interesting cultural spots. A short daytime port call can make many of those experiences impossible. ©Ron Buskirk/UCG/Universal Images Group via Getty Late departures are useful, but overnight stays take the concept even further. When a ship remains in port overnight, passengers can have dinner in the city, attend an evening event, experience the nightlife, or explore the area without worrying that they have to race back to the ship before it sails. If you’re shopping for a cruise in 2027, the itinerary deserves just as much attention as the ship. Start by looking for overnight stays. Even a few additional hours can open up dinner and evening activities that wouldn’t otherwise be possible. This can be an excellent way to sample local cuisine that you might not have otherwise tried. It’s also worth checking where the ship docks. An overnight isn’t necessarily useful if your primary goal requires hours of transportation each way. Then look at the actual amount of time in port. Two cruises may visit the same number of destinations while offering dramatically different amounts of time ashore. ©Disney For a long time, cruise marketing has encouraged travelers to think about quantity. Now? They completely redid the space after Johnston & Murphy relocated, and the manager told us they knocked out the back wall, raised the ceiling, and added tons of natural light. Cole Haan is known for its sneakers, so it’s no surprise that when you walk in, you’re greeted by walls of sneakers! SO many sneakers! There’s a wall of sneakers on the left and right sides of the entrance, and then in the back, you’ll find some great dresswear options for both men and women. For men, you’ll find some boots, bags, and dress shoes… Boots! Plus, a whole wall of blazers, belts, ties, and even more shoes. So many options! With over 30 different Disney World-owned hotels, choosing where to stay can be a major decision — especially when you factor price into things. Pop Century Luckily, Disney recently announced some major hotel discounts that can help you save serious dough, but how can you be sure you’re getting the absolute best deal out there? Well, that’s why you have us! We’ve done the hard work to figure out how you can save the most money using this hotel discount. And the best part? This discount is open to everyone — you don’t have to be in a special group to get it! If you’re looking for savings on your Disney World vacation, you can save up to 25% on select hotels, and you can book your room right now. Save up to 25% on rooms for stays most nights from February 28th to April 29th, 2027, or take up to 20% off on rooms for stays most Sunday to Thursday nights from January 3rd to February 25th, 2027. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa How much you save depends on which hotel you choose, so we’ve priced out a Deluxe, Moderate, and Value resort to show you the most bang for your buck. Value For a five-night stay from March 8th to March 13th, a standard room at Disney’s Pop Century Resort would run you $1,542 if you were to book a room without using any discounts. But you can save 15% on stays during this time period when you book using the general hotel discount Disney is offering. Disney’s Pop Century Resort This means that using the discount, you’ll only have to pay $1,310.70 — saving you $231.30. It’s almost like getting a night for free, considering the price averages out to $262 per night. Moderate Over at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort — Riverside, the rack rate for a 5-night stay from March 8th to March 13th is $1,972. Luckily, you can save 15% using the discount when you stay from February 28th to April 29th. Port Orleans — Riverside When you book with this discount, the price comes down to $1,675.20. That’s nearly $300 in savings overall. Using the discount, the rate per night comes out to $351. Deluxe You can even save at Deluxe hotels too, like Wilderness Lodge. Using the same dates, the rack rate for a stay here is a whopping $4,125. But Disney is offering a 25% discount from February 28th to April 29th, meaning you could end up paying $3,093.75 instead — over $1,000 in savings. Wilderness Lodge With the 25% off discount, the rate for a stay at Wilderness Lodge comes out to $619 per night. Disney’s Wilderness Lodge If budget is your top priority, Pop Century is obviously the best choice here, though you can find some serious savings at both Port Orleans — Riverside and Wilderness Lodge as well; you’ll just still end up paying more out of pocket. Ultimately, no matter what you choose, using this discount can save you a good chunk of change on your next Disney World vacation — and those costs can add up quickly! Across the Disney Fantasy, Disney Magic and Disney Wonder, a refreshed Edge club now welcomes tweens with a vibrant new color scheme and modular elements that can adapt for a variety of activities. Investing in the Guest Experience “At Disney Cruise Line, every enhancement we make begins with a single question: How can we make the guest experience better?” said Tracy Wilson, senior vice president and general manager, Disney Cruise Line Operations. “These investments are designed to build upon the experiences our guests already know and love while adding thoughtful, new touches that make vacations even more memorable.” The enhancements reflect Disney Cruise Line’s belief that innovation isn’t limited to new ships, Wilson said. Each vessel in the fleet is continually evaluated and enhanced to ensure it remains among the most beloved vacation experiences at sea. The result is industry-leading guest satisfaction scores, with nearly 90 percent of Disney Cruise Line guests rating their experience as “excellent.” “Whether guests are sailing for the first time or returning for another family vacation, they can expect to discover something new while still finding the experiences they know and love,” Wilson said. Disney Storytelling in Every Detail What makes a Disney Cruise Line dry dock unique is the role storytelling plays throughout the process. Disney Imagineers help bring refreshed and reimagined spaces to life, ensuring every enhancement reflects the creativity, craftsmanship and attention to detail guests expect. Their work goes far beyond updating finishes or furnishings, with teams carefully planning how each space can become more immersive, more functional, and more engaging for guests. “Every dry dock is an opportunity to reinvigorate spaces with new magic by responding to how guests use areas of the ships. Looking Below the Waterline Not all dry dock improvements are visible to guests. These projects also provide an opportunity to invest in the long-term efficiency and sustainability of the fleet. Technical teams complete extensive work designed to help ships operate more efficiently and support Disney Cruise Line’s environmental goals, like advanced hull coatings on the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder and a new bulbous bow on the Disney Fantasy that improve performance and help minimize environmental impact. While guests may never see these enhancements, they are an important part of keeping ships operating at their best while supporting a more sustainable future. Together, guest-facing enhancements and behind-the-scenes improvements reflect Disney Cruise Line’s holistic approach to fleet investment. Powered by Extraordinary Teams Over a carefully planned timeline, thousands of experts work together to transform a ship. Marine and technical teams coordinate complex operational projects. The Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground has been a staple at Disney World since (nearly) the very beginning. While the campground was planned to be an opening day attraction at the Vacation Kingdom, construction delays pushed the campground back slightly. It actually opened about 6 weeks after the rest of Disney World on November 19th, 1971. Fort Wilderness Even with that scheduling issue, over the last 50+ years, Fort Wilderness has become a favorite for guests who want to capture a part of the great outdoors during their Disney World stay, with many returning year after year. That has, in turn, led to some interesting traditions developing within the confines of the campground, including a new(ish) one regarding golf carts. So, quick catch-up: Fort Wilderness offers golf cart rentals that make it easier to get around the sprawling grounds and campsite. These electric golf carts are equipped with windshields and headlights for night driving and are available to guests 18 years of age and older with a valid driver’s license. Drivers must be 16 years of age or older with a valid driver’s license, and all drivers must have their license on them when operating the cart. However, the price — which costs between $75 and $100 per day, tax included — can be prohibitive, especially for those who are spending most of their time in the parks. Disney also allows guests to bring their own golf carts, but “for the safety of everyone at the Resort hotel, you must be prepared to present proof of insurance upon check-in and sign an agreement and waiver.” Golf Carts at Fort Wilderness All of that to say that golf carts are a pretty common sight at Fort Wilderness, which leads us to “Camp Hair Don’t Care.” @Original Fort Wilderness Scavenger Hunts Facebook This game among guests involves a large collection of pool noodles that look like a messy hairdo when zip-tied to the top of a golf cart. If you’ve been to the movie theater this week, then it’s likely you saw something very familiar at the box office, because Avengers Endgame: Encore was just re-released into theaters. ©CinemaBlend | Marvel This is an extended cut of the fan-favorite groundbreaking film, and after opening weekend, it led Marvel Studios to cross $35 billion globally at the box office. Avengers Endgame: Encore was a re-release of the iconic 2019 film, this time with extended scenes that relate directly to the plot of the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday. In addition to these extra scenes, there was also a first look at the upcoming film. ©Disney So it is unsurprising that it was very popular in theaters this weekend and was even a number one global release while also becoming the second highest global debut of a re-release. It also means that the cumulative box office earnings for Avengers: Endgame now sit at $2.885 billion, making it the second highest on the all-time box office list, just $39 million behind Avatar. ©Marvel As we mentioned before, a big part of this release was to set audiences up for the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, which is releasing in theaters on December 18th, and we already know will be a huge box office success. I don’t mean to make you panic, but if you haven’t started thinking about your holiday season travel…you need to do that, like, YESTERDAY. Southwest Airlines With airline capacities decreasing and airports getting seriously busy during the last few months of the year, you should go ahead and book your flights ASAP to score the best deals. Still looking for some deals? Well, we’ve got some options! The first big deal you need to know about is that Southwest Airlines is having a sale on fall flights! You can get one-way travel as low as $59 per person if you book by October 1st, 2026 (that means you must HURRY). You’ll need to purchase your ticket at least 21 days in advance to qualify. Southwest Airlines at MCO Your travel dates must fall between October 20th, 2026 and March 3rd, 2027. Some blockout dates apply, so check the Southwest website to see which ones are listed for your destination. These tickets are nonrefundable and there are a limited number available. MCO airport When we checked different destinations for these flight options, we actually found the $59 price for some flights from Atlanta to Orlando. Sounds like the perfect excuse to plan a Halloween visit to Universal Orlando or a holiday season trip to Disney World! Southwest Airplanes The other big deal you should know is that you can bundle and save if you book with Getaways by Southwest. Right now, the discount offers up to $250 off select domestic vacation packages or up to $500 off international vacation packages. Plus, you’ll get two checked bags for free with your flight! Southwest Airlines at John Wayne International Airport So now sounds like the perfect time to start booking. The upcoming travel season is getting more complicated with several major airlines cutting back on flight capacity due to rising fuel costs. Southwest Airlines confirmed a few days ago that they’d already cut their 2026 capacity growth in about half, and would continue to make cuts as necessary for budget reasons. ©Southwest Airlines United Airlines and American Airlines are in this same boat, with the latter sharing that its fuel spending had increased by about $1 billion in the fourth quarter. All three airlines are cutting less profitable routes and decreasing the number of flights overall. This could spell problems in the coming months as demand increases for the holidays. Orlando International Airport If you’re traveling throughout the Halloween through New Year’s season, make sure to plan ahead. Book your flights as far in advance as possible and use tools like Google Flights to track prices and get the best deal. Make sure to check which airlines have special offers, as well! (And of course, we’ll share any that we find.) Perhaps the most important tip is to arrive early at the airport on the day of your flight so that you can make sure you’re prepared for the crowds. Season-end events in Skagway, Juneau and Ketchikan build on longtime support for local families, students and community organizations Disney Cruise Line closed its 2026 Alaska season by building on its ongoing support for local organizations across Southeast Alaska, working with local groups in Skagway, Juneau and Ketchikan to support military families, connect students with maritime professionals and create opportunities for young Alaskans. From Sept. 24–26, Crew Members from the Disney Wonder joined community organizations for three events across the region: a career conversation with Junior Achievement Alaska students in Skagway, a Coast Guard Families Appreciation Event in Juneau and a maritime careers ship tour in Ketchikan. The events capped a season of community involvement that helped strengthen relationships with the Southeast Alaska communities that Disney Cruise Line visits each summer. “Alaska is an important and growing part of the Disney Cruise Line story,” said Beth Thibadoux, Director of External Affairs for Disney Cruise Line. “The communities we visit are one of the many reasons a Disney Cruise Line experience is so special, and we remain committed to deepening the relationships and supporting local priorities of the communities that welcome us every season.” Celebrating Coast Guard families in Juneau In Juneau, Disney Cruise Line joined Armed Services YMCA – Alaska on Sept. 25 to recognize Coast Guard members and families serving Alaska and the U.S. Arctic. The celebration offered Coast Guard families the opportunity to spend time with each other participating in themed activities, crafts and memorable moments with Captain Mickey Mouse. Disney Cruise Line also announced its investment in the U.S. Coast Guard Foundation in support of its Coastie Campers summer enrichment program, helping expand opportunities for Coast Guard families in Alaska. “Military families make tremendous sacrifices in service to Alaska and the country, and it means a great deal when community partners take the time to recognize and support them,” said Sarah Riffer, Executive Director for Armed Services YMCA of Alaska. “This was an opportunity for families to simply come together, feel celebrated and enjoy time with one another.” Disney has a long history of honoring military service members, veterans and their families dating back 100 years ago to founders Walt and Roy O. Disney who both served their country during World War I. Exploring Maritime Careers in Skagway & Ketchikan In Skagway, Disney Wonder crew members joined local students from Junior Achievement of Alaska on Sept. 24, sharing their own career paths and offering a firsthand look at the range of jobs that keep a cruise ship running. The conversation gave students an opportunity to hear directly from maritime professionals and learn more about careers that can begin with many different interests, skills and backgrounds. Two days later in Ketchikan, more local students with Junior Achievement of Alaska and the Magsayawan Filipino Dance Group boarded the Disney Wonder for a discussion on maritime careers and a ship tour. Students met crew members and got a behind-the-scenes look at the people, skills and professions involved in operating a cruise ship, connecting an industry they see in their community each summer to potential future career paths. “Our students see ships visit throughout the season, but getting to talk directly with the people who make those operations possible is a completely different experience,” said Mackenzie Platschorre, Vice President of Secondary Programs for Junior Achievement of Alaska, Inc. “Opportunities like these help students see the maritime industry not just as something happening around them, but as a place where they can explore their interests, envision the possibilities ahead, and see how their actions today can help build a choice-filled life.” A Season of Community Engagement The September events capped a broader season of community involvement across Southeast Alaska, as Disney Cruise Line collaborated with several local organizations to bring moments of happiness and support where they’re needed most. Throughout 2026, Disney Cruise Line supported the Southeast Alaska Food Bank, including its work to provide weekend meals through Harborview Elementary School; donated boot and glove warmers for Harborview classrooms; contributed Disney books and participated in intergenerational programming at the Ketchikan Pioneer Home; and welcomed Skagway Summer Camp participants aboard the Disney Wonder for the fourth year. Wait! Disney, didn’t you already give us a Sleeping Beauty adaptation? It’s safe to say our first thought when we heard a new Sleeping Beauty movie was in the works was confusion. ©Disney Of all the Disney movies to be getting a new adaptation, we expected it to one that hasn’t already gotten a remade version. So let’s dive into all the limited details we have so far about what we can expect from this new project. Deadline has shared that Dan Trachtenberg will be developing a brand-new project inspired by Sleeping Beauty. So far, we know that this project is an original idea that draws inspiration from the classic Disney Princess film; it is also in the very early stages of development. Trachtenberg, alongside Rayna McClendon, created the ideas for this new story, and Alex Anfanger and Dan Schimpf are confirmed to be creating the script. ©Disney While very few details have been released for this project, it has been confirmed that it will not be related to or connected to the Maleficent films. That was our first thought upon hearing about this new project. Disney, especially in recent years, has been known for remaking classic animated films into live-action adaptations. So when we heard a new Sleeping Beauty film was in the works, we thought it might be a live-action adaptation of the film. ©Disney However, we already got a live-action interpretation of Sleeping Beauty with Maleficent that was released in 2014, and then the sequel Maleficent: Mistress of Evil that came out in 2019. While these movies mainly focused on Maleficent and her character journey, Aurora was a big part of the story as well. So many people thought this was the only version of a live-action Sleeping Beauty movie that we would be getting. ©Walt Disney Studios And that still might remain true; this announcement did not confirm that the new story would be a traditional live-action retelling. Instead, it highlighted how Trachtenberg is working on an original story that is drawing inspiration from the classic film. EPCOT‘s World Showcase is full of some seriously awesome hidden treats! China Pavilion in EPCOT You don’t have to stick to the Mickey bars and the churros at this park, because you can wander into gift shops and find some of the most interesting snacks you’ve ever eaten, not to mention the offerings at the dozens of restaurants and snack stands. And if you’re heading to the park soon, there’s a limited-time snack that you might want to add to your to-do list! During a recent visit to House of Good Fortune in the China Pavilion, we saw this sign on display! They’re offering a Mango Custard Mooncake at the China Food & Wine Festival booth! But there’s a catch — it’s only available until October 3rd. Oooh a treat! You can snag this for $8.25, and boy is it pretty! Our reporter who tried this was new to mooncakes and pleasantly surprised by the dense and somewhat dry texture throughout. When they say “custard,” it’s not runny or gooey like you would expect American custard to be. It’s beautiful! It wasn’t super sweet, and reminded us a lot of mochi. The mango flavor is quite strong and runs throughout the treat, so if you’re hoping for something fruity and only mildly sweetened, this could be a win! Unfortunately, the one downside is that we couldn’t really get the dragonfruit flavor. Inside the mooncake If you’re interested in trying this, you only have a few more days to snag it at the China booth, which is located along World Showcase’s main walkway in front of the China Pavilion. It’s a little bit pricey for its size, so you’ll have to determine if spending $8.25 on this snack is worth it for a taste. Those are some bright colors! When you’ve been out in the hot sun all day in Disney World, the one thing that might sound like the PERFECT snack is ice cream. Now, Disney World has ALL kinds of ice cream and soft-serve options (and we’ll never rule out DOLE Whip either), but what if you want to try something new? Hokkaido Ice Cream Well, a new ice cream option just popped up in EPCOT, and let’s just say that it’s become so popular that it often sells out. We’re talking about the Hokkaido Ice Cream you can now get at Mitsukoshi in the Japan Pavilion — we finally got our hands on it, and we’re bringing you our full review!! Hokkaido ice cream is a famous style of soft-serve in Japan made with milk from Hokkaido’s free-roaming dairy cows. It’s different from American ice cream in that it has less sugar content and is generally fluffier and creamier. Plain milk is the most popular flavor, which is what you’ll get at Mitsukoshi for $5.42. Note that the soft-serve is actually in a cone inside the container. There it is! Now, we’ve had Hokkaido Ice Cream in Japan, and this wasn’t quite as creamy or soft, but the flavor was VERY close, so it’s fairly authentic. If we had to describe the flavor, it was light a slightly salty vanilla, so it’s a must for vanilla ice cream lovers. This ice cream was airy on the inside, but the outside was very creamy. It also melts even faster than regular soft-serve. Honestly, for $5, it’s a nice treat to have in Disney World, and we think it’s easily worth the price. It will certainly satisfy your sweet tooth, despite its small size. Pro tip: grab it early before it sells out. So creamy If you’re looking for another sweet and cold treat, we can also recommend the Frozen Wafer Sandwich that you can pick up at Mitsukoshi. Several flavors are usually available, but we’re big fans of the Strawberry. Strawberry Also, if you’ve been trying to get your hands on that Grapefruit Ice Box, Mitsukoshi posted on Instagram that it will be returning. It’s really refreshing when you mix it in with a soft drink. Grapefruit Ice Box We’ll keep an eye out for even more new treats in Disney World, so stay tuned to DFB for more reviews. Some Disney World fans plan trips around new rides. Others know exactly when Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party starts. And then there are people like us, who see a calendar and immediately start wondering what we’re going to eat. Disney World’s food calendar has its own rhythm. EPCOT festivals bring dozens of temporary food booths, annual celebrations can quietly introduce some of the most interesting dishes of the year, and one particularly delicious weekend turns the Swan and Dolphin into what is essentially a giant outdoor dinner party. 2025 Food and Wine Classic So no, this isn’t every date when Disney releases a specialty treat. If we included every seasonal cupcake wearing a new buttercream topping, we’d be here until next Food & Wine Festival. But these are seven dates and seasons Disney food fans should actually know about. #7 February — Black History Month February tends to get overshadowed by Valentine’s Day snacks, but Black History Month has become one of the more interesting times to watch Disney World’s menus. Disney celebrates Black culture throughout the month with its Celebrate Soulfully offerings, and food has regularly been a big part of the celebration. Over the years, we’ve seen dishes inspired by Southern cooking, Caribbean flavors, Creole cuisine, African cuisine, and recipes connected to Black chefs and culinary history. Celebrate Soulfully Sweet Potato Pie This is exactly the kind of seasonal Disney food we want more of. Give us a dish with an actual story behind it over another chocolate cupcake with blue frosting any day. The lineup changes each year, so we start watching Disney’s menus closely on February 1st. #6 September 15th through October 15th — Hispanic and Latin American Heritage Month If tacos & margaritas are involved, we are capable of taking our calendar responsibilities VERY seriously. Disney celebrates Hispanic and Latin American Heritage Month from September 15th through October 15th, and the celebration frequently stretches well beyond EPCOT’s Mexico Pavilion. Guava and Cheese Mille-Feuille We’ve seen special dishes and drinks pop up at the theme parks, Disney Springs, and Disney World hotels, highlighting flavors from Mexico, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Colombia, Peru, and other parts of Latin America and the Caribbean. Frontera Cocina Margarita That can mean everything from tres leches and guava pastries to plantains, empanadas, specialty cocktails, and, yes, plenty of margaritas. If someone needs to compare several margaritas for research purposes, we salute your dedication- responsibly, of course. This one can be surprisingly easy to miss because it lands right in the middle of Disney World’s already-busy fall food season, but it’s absolutely worth keeping an eye on. Toasted Coconut Flan #5 November 27th through December 30th, 2026 — EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays Once Thanksgiving arrives, EPCOT basically hands the park over to comfort food. The 2026 EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays runs from November 27th through December 30th, and the Holiday Kitchens are reason enough to put it on a Disney food fan’s calendar. 2025 EPCOT Festival of the Holidays This is where you’ll find dishes inspired by holiday traditions from around the world, so you can go from savory meats and potatoes to cookies and festive cocktails in about the time it takes someone else in your group to suggest getting in line for Frozen Ever After. L’Chaim Full Spread The Cookie Stroll gets plenty of attention, but don’t let the cookies hog the tinsel. Some of the savory Holiday Kitchen dishes are routinely among the festival’s biggest reasons to visit (L’Chaim rueben, I’m lookin’ at you). #4 January 15th through March 1st, 2027 — EPCOT International Festival of the Arts Festival of the Arts shows us all that food can be beautiful without forgetting the rather important requirement that we actually want to eat it. Disney has already confirmed that the 2027 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts will run from January 15th through March 1st. Full Spread at Figment’s Imagination Station The Food Studios tend to serve some of EPCOT’s most visually ambitious festival dishes, but this festival has also produced plenty of legitimately excellent food. That’s an important distinction. We admire an artistically deconstructed dish, but we’d also like lunch. Figment Imagination Cone Festival of the Arts is also comparatively short, so procrastinating can hurt here. If there’s a Food Studio dish you desperately want to try, don’t assume you’ve got three months to get around to it. A few Outdoor Kitchen stops, one drink you’ve been thinking about since last spring, and suddenly you’ve eaten your way halfway around World Showcase. #2 August 27th through November 21st, 2026 — EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival You knew this one was coming. The 2026 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival runs from August 27th through November 21st, with more than 30 Global Marketplace booths and additional festival dishes scattered around EPCOT. Food & Wine Festival This is the heavyweight on Disney World’s food calendar. For nearly three months, you can wander around EPCOT comparing dumplings, steak, cheese, noodles, cocktails, desserts, and dishes from kitchens representing countries around the world. It is wonderful. It is dangerous to your carefully constructed dining budget. Make sure you come prepared. Wine and Cheese Pairing The best strategy is rarely trying to eat everything in one afternoon. Check the full Food & Wine Festival booth menus, make a hit list, and leave room for something you didn’t plan on ordering. There is always something that smells good enough to derail the budget. Spain 2026 But there’s another food event happening right as EPCOT Food & Wine reaches its finale, and this is the weekend we REALLY want food fans to circle. #1 November 20th and 21st, 2026 — Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic Here’s the date we’d put in bold, highlight, underline, and possibly stick to the refrigerator. The 2026 Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic takes place November 20th and 21st from 5PM to 9PM each night. And if you love Disney food but have somehow never paid much attention to this event, it’s time to fix that. Signs at 2022 Food & Wine Classic The Food & Wine Classic takes over the causeway between the Swan and Dolphin with unlimited food and beverage tastings included with an event ticket. The 2026 lineup draws from restaurants around the resort, including Bourbon Steak, Il Mulino, Kimonos, and Amare, plus themed areas like Chinatown, The Beer Garden, Bubble Lounge, For the Love of Florida, Carnival Corner, and an entire Desserts area. An entire area devoted to desserts. We appreciate a festival with its priorities properly calibrated. Beef Sliders at the 2022 Food & Wine Classic from The Fountain The 2026 menus include everything from Slow Braised Wagyu Beef Short Rib and Pan-Fried Shrimp & Pork Dumplings to Bavarian pretzels, Texas Red Chili, Cinnamon Roll Waffles, and a Campfire Mocha made with chocolate coffee mousse and toasted marshmallow. Tickets are currently $215 per person before taxes and service fees for one night, and there’s also a discounted two-night bundle. This event is open to the public, so you do NOT need to be staying at the Swan or Dolphin to attend. Food and Wine Classic And here’s the particularly convenient bit for serious Disney food people. The Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic falls on the final two days of the 2026 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival. So, you could spend the day eating your way around EPCOT, walk out International Gateway, and continue the operation at the Swan and Dolphin that evening. Just beware: this is an ambitious amount of food. Bring your stretchy pants. Keep That Calendar Handy Disney changes menus constantly, and not every seasonal food deserves its own entry on your food calendar. But these are the stretches of the year when we start paying closer attention. The EPCOT festivals bring some of Disney World’s biggest food lineups. Black History Month and Hispanic and Latin American Heritage Month can surface dishes you won’t find during the rest of the year. And the Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic packs an enormous amount of food, drinks, and live entertainment into two very busy nights.
