Every week, we report the average Disney World wait times in every park so that you can be prepared for your next trip to Orlando! So patriotic! Disney World wait times have a reputation for being, well, unpredictable, and that’s especially true during the summer season. The Fourth of July Holiday has traditionally been one of Disney World’s busiest, and the fact that the 2026 holiday fell across a weekend seemed to indicate that wait times would be high. However, the truth was different. While the parks were crowded, most actual wait times were LOWER than the previous week. Maybe everything was watching the fireworks? While many fans of themed entertainment often automatically think of the industry’s major players like Disney and Universal, the truth is that there are many, MANY themed experiences from companies large and small across the U.S. ©Attractions 360 And the truth is, from regional park chains to one-off family-owned amusement parks and even standalone attractions and rides, not all of these offerings are created equal. Case in point — there’s a ride our team members STILL can’t believe we paid for. The attraction in question, which is located in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, the home of Dollywood – – though let’s be clear, this is NOT a Dollywood ride – – is called the Jurassic Jungle Boat Ride. This ride claims to feature “flying dinosaurs, walking dinosaurs, fighting dinosaurs, baby dinosaurs, sea monsters, and much, much more, all from the safety of your boat.” In concept, an indoor boat ride surrounded by animatronic dinosaurs sounds like it could be really cool, even if the standalone attraction clearly wouldn’t be on the same financial or technological level as something from Disney or Universal. However, in practice was a different matter. ©Jurassic Jungle Boat Ride The approximately 12-ish-minute boat ride — and it is a SUPER slow-moving boat ride — kind of feels like the neglected sibling of the Jurassic Park River Adventure or even the departed Dinosaur in Animal Kingdom. The dinosaur animatronics are a level of rickety that would fit in with a Simpsons parody of a theme park. Some pop out at the boat in a slight jump scare manner, while others pop up from the water. There was even one pterodactyl “flying” overhead that had seemingly kidnapped a CHILD. Again, all of these feel like they could be scary in concept, but the execution just makes them somewhat…bizarre. ©Fox/Disney All of that makes the ride’s price tag of over $20 a bit hard to swallow, considering that the ride is one that many guests would likely skip at a theme park if it came with the price of admission. There is a silver lining here, though. Specifically, those who enjoy the “it’s so bad, they’re good” hokey tourist attractions may appreciate the ride and its cheese with a capital ‘C’ offering. If one went in with that mindset, it might be worth a diversion from your trip, though the price point is still a high one. ©Jurassic Jungle Boat Ride Despite making its home in the same Pigeon Forge, Tennessee location as Dollywood, the Jurassic Jungle Boat Ride attraction could not be further from that award-winning theme park. Depending on your appetite for the cheesier elements of themed entertainment, that may be a good thing or a bad thing. Stay tuned to DFB for more on themed attractions around the world. 8 Rules Every Disney Adult Will Break in Dollywood Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! On the newest Disney Cruise Line ship, the Disney Adventure, there is an all-new show that blends cutting-edge technology with fantastic Disney storytelling. Walt Disney Theater The show “Remember: A Disney and Pixar Stage Show” follows WALL-E and Eve on a beautiful journey as they travel through different Disney stories. The machine WALL-E sits and travels on through the show, is the first-ever fully autonomous piece of equipment used in a Disney stage show. Imagineers are giving us a behind-the-scenes look at how this all works. In a recent video on the Walt Disney Imagineering YouTube channel, they revealed all the behind-the-scenes details on how the “Mobilator” works. This is the first fully autonomous computer-driven character seen on stage. Meaning that it moves on its own across the stage without any human control. The Mobilator is the driving force behind the WALL-E Wagon and how this character is truly brought to life on stage. It is an extremely complex piece of machinery that has never been used before. ©Walt Disney Imagineering Now, this system is very complicated, and to ensure the success of the show and the safety of the performers, there are three ways in which the crew can know exactly where and how the Mobilator is moving on the stage. ©Walt Disney Imagineering First is the Lidar, which is located on one of the bottom corners of the Mobilator. It is constantly emitting signals which then hit reflectors across the stage. When the signal hits those reflectors, the position of the Mobilator is then triangulated on the stage. ©Walt Disney Imagineering Second is the Wheel Odometry, which counts how many times the wheel rotates to show where the system is on the stage. ©Walt Disney Imagineering And third is a Downward Facing Camera, which looks for different QR Codes that are embedded into the stage itself, so when the Mobilator needs to be in specific spots, for lifts or other specific moments, the camera will read these codes and know the system is in the right spot. ©Walt Disney Imagineering There is also a whole battery bank that sits inside the Mobilator to ensure that it can move and work properly throughout the entire show; these batteries equal about eight normal car batteries! ©Walt Disney Imagineering If you want to see the whole breakdown of this cool technology, you can check out the full Walt Disney Imagineering video here! This technology is truly incredible and a fantastic way for Disney to enhance their already amazing storytelling. The live-action Moana movie just sailed into theaters, which means that Disney World is full of new Moana-themed treats to celebrate our favorite Wayfinder. HeiHei Delight When we saw this brand-new Moana-themed drink hit EPCOT this week, we had to try it. Let’s find out if this Heihei Delight is as delightful as the name! The Heihei Delight is $7.29 at The Land Cart in EPCOT. This is a tropical blend of pineapple and coconut topped with a pineapple slice and Skittles POP’d original freeze-dried candy. HeiHei Delight This drink is a nonalcoholic piña colada in terms of both flavor and texture. It’s very light and refreshing, so it’s perfect for walking around with on a hot Florida day. It’s topped with shredded coconut that brings in the coconut flavor, but you’ll have to mix it in to get it evenly dispersed. The freeze-dried Skittles are very crunchy and still keep the strong, fruity flavors the candy is known for. It’s super tropical with a fun twist from the Skittles! The Skittles don’t fit in the straw! We’d recommend this Heihei Delight to anyone looking for a fruity, pineapple drink in EPCOT. If you’re hoping for a strong coconut flavor, this isn’t it: The drink is very pineapple-forward. The Skittles were a fun addition, but the straw we were given wasn’t wide enough to drink them with, so we had to grab a spoon to eat them. It doesn’t mix well into the drink, so it’s not worth it just for the Skittles. If you want to try it yourself, head to The Land Cart in EPCOT before it sails away! Heihei Delight We loved trying this new drink at EPCOT. Stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more Disney World food reviews! After 30 years of staying at Disney World hotels, there are three I just keep coming back to, and you might want to book this one for your next vacation. Disney’s Wilderness Lodge I believe that some Disney World resorts are just made for you. Maybe you enjoy the immersive theming of Art of Animation, or you really love having access to the monorail from your resort. I’ve stayed at most of the Disney World resorts in my life, but now there are just three that my family can’t stop booking. 3. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort has incredible theming that can make you forget you’re in the heart of Florida, not on an island. From the lobby to the detail in the rooms, staying here can feel like a vacation, while on vacation. We also love that it is on the resort monorail loop, giving you quick access to Magic Kingdom and EPCOT. But by far one of the best reasons to stay here is the food. Whether you’re grabbing the Tonga Toast from Kona Cafe for breakfast, the Pork Nachos from Capt. Cook’s, or a drink from Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto, you’ll be in for a treat. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort 2. Disney’s Beach Club Resort Disney’s Beach Club Resort is famously known for having one of the best pools for a Disney resort. It is conveniently located near the Boardwalk, giving you walkable access to tons of restaurants, EPCOT, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. If you’re someone who wants to spend time at their resort while also being able to get to the parks quickly, this is a great resort. Beach Club 1. Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort — Copper Creek Villas Finally, my number one choice for a Disney hotel is Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort, specifically Copper Creek Villas. If there’s one Disney World hotel that completely transports me somewhere else, it’s Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. From the moment I walk into the soaring lobby, I’m reminded why I keep coming back. Inspired by the grand National Park lodges of the Pacific Northwest, every detail feels intentional, from the massive stone fireplace to the towering timber beams and rustic décor. Wilderness Lodge lobby As someone who travels with my family, I really appreciate how comfortable the rooms at Wilderness Lodge feel. The Copper Creek Villas have plenty of space to spread out, which makes a huge difference after spending an entire day in the parks. There’s enough room for everyone to unpack without feeling like we’re constantly stepping over each other, and the warm wood accents and cozy design make the rooms feel more like a mountain retreat than a standard hotel room. It’s a place where I genuinely look forward to coming back each afternoon or evening. We typically stay in a Copper Creek Deluxe Studio, which is about $623 per night. Of course, there are a wide variety of rooms available at the resort, and some are cheaper. Wilderness Lodge in Disney World One of the biggest reasons I love staying at Wilderness Lodge is that I never feel like I have to leave the resort to find a great meal. There are plenty of dining options, whether I’m grabbing something quick before heading to the parks or sitting down for a relaxing dinner. Whispering Canyon Cafe But the real standout for me is Geyser Point Bar & Grill. Sitting outside along the water with a meal or drink while watching the boats travel to and from Magic Kingdom is one of my favorite ways to unwind after a long park day. The resort also has several other lounge spaces that make it easy to relax without fighting the crowds you often find at other Disney hotels. Geyser Point Bar & Grill Transportation can make or break a Disney vacation, and the boat service to Magic Kingdom is one of my favorite perks of staying here. Instead of squeezing onto a crowded bus, I get to enjoy a relaxing ride across Bay Lake while taking in the scenery. It’s one of those little extras that makes Wilderness Lodge feel so special compared to many other Disney resorts. Wilderness Lodge boat My family loves to stay here during the holiday season. There’s something about the giant Christmas tree and decorations paired with the rustic features that make this resort feel so cozy. It also makes for a quick trip to Magic Kingdom if you are visiting Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Christmas Tree at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge This resort is perfect for travelers who want their Disney vacation to feel a little slower and more relaxing without sacrificing convenience. If you love immersive theming, enjoy spending time at your hotel, appreciate great dining and lounges, or like taking peaceful boat rides to Magic Kingdom, Wilderness Lodge is hard to beat. It’s also an excellent choice for families who want spacious accommodations and plenty of activities on resort days. On the other hand, it may not be the best fit if your priority is having quick transportation to all four theme parks, since you’ll rely on buses for EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Guests looking for a more modern or bright atmosphere may also find the rustic, National Park-inspired design less appealing. We’re more than halfway through 2026, which means A LOT of people are already starting to plan their vacations for next year. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa And with planning a trip, some of the biggest questions include WHERE you’re going to go and WHEN you’re going to go. Disney World is a popular vacation spot for many families around the world, and it can get pretty pricey, especially when it comes to hotels. But I’m here to break down the best times to go and stay at a Disney World hotel, so you can beat the crowds and save some money! January 24th – 30th You’d think that once the holiday season ends, the crowds at Disney World would die down, but that’s not the case until late January. The Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, which happens next year from January 6th to January 10th, draws in a whole different crowd. And the following week brings in the long-weekend crowds from Martin Luther King Day, landing on January 18th, 2027. ©Disney But after those crowds leave, you’ll be in the clear for a less crowded week filled with cooler temperatures, so this makes January 24th through 30th one of the best times to visit the resort! The Disney Skyliner will also be closed for its annual maintenance during this week, so if you want even fewer crowds, consider staying at Pop Century Resort, Art of Animation Resort, Riviera Resort, or Caribbean Beach Resort! Disney World’s Skyliner Let’s take a look at Pop Century Resort’s rates — from January 24th to 30th, one Standard Room costs $209.50 per night. But if you were to take a vacation during the holiday season — December 20th to 26th, for example — a Standard Room would set you back $349 per night. So, by traveling just a month later, you can save nearly $1,000! Pop Century Here’s the Bad News About The Disney World Skyliner April 11th – 17th Next year, Easter falls early on March 28th, so you won’t see those holiday crowds in mid-April. Most college spring breaks also occur in March, so April 11th through 17th might be the perfect time to take your Disney World vacation. It still won’t be in the peak-summer temperatures, but definitely bring a cooling towel and a fan because it’ll still be hot! School vacations up north tend to happen the week after, so if you’re going to book around this time, don’t book for too late in April! Tree of Life in Animal Kingdom If you’re going to be spending a lot of time at your hotel during your vacation, you’ll want one that has a lot to offer and won’t break the bank at the same time. Disney’s Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter is a great option since it has several dining options — including those beloved beignets — a sister resort that you’ll also have access to, and easy transportation to Disney Springs via boat! Staying here during this week can also save you over $50 per night compared to if you were to stay during the week of Easter! Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter I Found the Perfect Room at Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter Hotel — Here’s How to Get It August 19th – 25th You may be thinking to yourself, “This girl is WILD to recommend taking a Disney World vacation in August,” and to that I say — you’re wrong! If you don’t mind the heat, booking a vacation to Disney World mid-to-end August might be the move for you! Florida schools generally resume in mid-August, so you won’t have to deal with the locals, and this is typically a period when EPCOT doesn’t have an ongoing festival — the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival tends to begin in the last week of August. Food and Wine Festival Booth It’s also one of the cheapest times to visit, with hotel rooms starting at just $84 per night — and that’s before any discounts or promotions — which there are some going on 90% of the time! So, if you don’t mind the heat, can go without eating festival foods, and want to save some money, we recommend booking between August 19th and 25th! All-Star Music 3 NEW Restaurants, Attraction Overhauls, and Food and Wine Festival Updates — Every Major Disney Announcement You Missed September 19st – 25th Mid to late September tends to be one of the slowest times of the year in Disney World — there is no major holiday, the runDisney races don’t start back up until late October, and everyone around the country is back in school. Plus, you’ll be able to see all of the fall and Halloween decorations up around the resort! Fall Decorations Maybe you want to explore the outdoors and stay at the Fort Wilderness Campsites? This is a great week to do it because you can stay for only $84 per night! The temperatures start to cool down around this time, too, so if you are looking for a less crowded, cooler vacation to Disney World, September 19th to 25th is the perfect time to take a trip! If you’re looking to travel to Disney World with fewer crowds and more money in your pocket, these four weeks are your best bet to visit! A brand-new snack stand has opened at EPCOT, and it may change how guests approach eating around the World Showcase. Welcome to La Poutinerie Over in the Canada Pavilion, La Poutinerie has replaced the Refreshment Port, and it’s offering two new takes on classic poutine dishes. Located at the entrance of the Canada Pavilion, La Poutinerie utilizes a similar layout to the Refreshment Port, including a walk-up service window. The restaurant — which is sponsored by Air Canada — offers two different types of poutines along with some alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. La Poutinerie Let’s begin with the pair of poutine offerings. During our inaugural visit, we tried both. The Québec: L’Authentique is in line with traditional poutine: French fries, cheese curds, and brown gravy. We really enjoyed this, even more than the poutine previously sold by Refreshment Port. The shoestring fries were perfectly seasoned and had the right amount of crispiness; the cheese curds were squeaky, cheesy, and fresh tasting, while the gravy was surprisingly light, not too heavy or goopy. Québec L’Authentique The next offering, the Montréal: Viande Fuméev, changes things up slightly. This bowl offers French fries, cheese curds, smoked meat, pickles, and mustard gravy. While the flavors here worked well together – – especially when you got them all in one bite – – we still preferred the more traditional take on poutine overall. That said, we did enjoy how the tangy mustard gravy cut through the salty, smoky meat and cheese, while the pickles added a nice crunch. Montréal: Viande Fumée Non-alcoholic beverages available include the Spiced Apple Slushy, DASANI Bottled Water, smartwater, and traditional Coca-Cola Fountain Beverages. Alcoholic options for all those planning to drink around the world include the Spiced Apple Mule (frozen ginger beer blended with lively lime and cozy spiced apple flavors with Iceberg Canadian Vodka), Molson Canadian Lager, Jackson-Triggs Reserve Red Blend, Unibroue La Fin du Monde Belgian-style Tripel Ale, and Domaine Ste. Michelle Brut, Columbia Valley. Spiced Apple Mule Adding yet another dining option to Disney World can make things even harder for guests to decide. Fear not! Our Guide to Disney World Dining pulls it all together so you can stop stressing and focus on the fun without feeling like you’re missing a thing! So, now that we’ve laid out the basics of La Poutinerie, how might it be changing the approach to eating around the world? Well, if you’re a big poutine fan, you definitely need to try the Québec: L’Authentique offering ASAP. It might even be worth switching up your regular route and STARTING in Canada instead of Mexico. Yum! In addition to the desire for poutine, there’s another reason why those wanting to chow down on some poutine should head to Canada first. Much to the chagrin of many fans, the new eatery’s hours are 11 AM to 5 PM, meaning that poutine will need to be an afternoon snack as opposed to a late-night option. La Poutinerie La Poutinerie is now open at EPCOT, and the new eatery might be changing how guests work their way around World Showcase’s culinary offerings! Stay tuned to DFB for more on Disney’s latest offerings. While we often talk about just how much is changing and going on inside the Disney World parks, with so many attractions being built and new lands under construction, there’s also a lot happening with the resort that’s happening outside the park gates. Disney’s Art of Animation Resort Disney has been at the center of a few property tax lawsuits recently after filing 15 lawsuits against Orange County in December 2025. Now, it’s been revealed that they’ve won yet another one of those lawsuits, this time for Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. The lawsuits filed last year alleged that the Orange County Property Appraiser, Amy Mercado, failed to comply with Florida law and adopted appraisal practices that resulted in assessments exceeding the market value of the properties. This would mean that Disney has been paying far more property tax than it should have been, and has been seeking to get the properties reappraised so the market value assessments are accurate. Timon, Pumba, and Simba at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort Now these kinds of lawsuits aren’t uncommon, and we’ve seen them filed many times in the past by Disney. For this lawsuit in particular, Disney was looking for the property tax for the years 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018 to be revised. The following screenshot is taken directly from the lawsuit itself, detailing the property taxes for each of those years. Tax numbers and breakdown from the lawsuit Most recently, Disney won another lawsuit regarding Animal Kingdom Lodge and Wilderness Lodge Resort’s 2015 just value, resulting in a flat 10% cut. Now that this lawsuit has been won as well, it remains to be seen if the other lawsuits Disney filed at the end of 2025 will also give way to revised property taxes. For now, the tax reduction won for Art of Animation adds up to nearly $34 million in reduced property value, which will likely lead to a tax refund, as Disney was required to pay their 2025 property taxes before the lawsuits were able to be filed. Disney’s Art of Animation We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all the latest news regarding these lawsuits, as we could also see Disney win them for all four theme parks, both water parks, as well as additional resorts. It was a quieter week in Disney World in terms of openings and closings, though we did officially say goodbye to the current version of one of our favorite attractions. Carousel of Progress is now behind walls While yes, we did have to wave goodbye to Carousel of Progress until an undetermined time in 2027, we’re also thrilled to say that a few projects made great headway in Disney World. New permits were filed for both Monstropolis and Tropical Americas, and a popular Magic Kingdom store finally has its big top back! Carousel of Progress has closed to make way for a massive refurbishment that will take place throughout the rest of 2026 and part of 2027. While Disney hasn’t yet released a reopening date other than it being sometime in 2027, we know with such a major revamp happening to the attraction, it’ll take time. Walls are up! If you’re visiting Disney Springs, this is also your reminder that Ghirardelli has officially moved to its temporary location inside the former Sprinkles Cupcakes building while its main building undergoes a refurbishment, so don’t be alarmed if it’s not where you last saw it! Let’s take a look at all the current closures taking place in Disney World from July 11th through July 18th. Magic Kingdom Carousel of Progress Carousel of Progress closed on July 6th to undergo a major refurbishment. The work will include completely revamping the scenes in the attraction to make them more modern and represent more recent parts of history, as well as adding a new Walt Disney animatronic at the opening. ©Disney Currently, the attraction is set to reopen in 2027, though no official date has been set yet. Big Top Souvenirs Big Top Souvenirs closed on February 20th, and Disney has said it’ll “reopen for guests to enjoy later this year,” but there’s no date in sight. When we stopped by recently, we saw that the big top has FINALLY been added back to the shop, which is a relief! The tent is back! We’re really curious to see how this all turns out, so we’ll keep you updated! Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island An iconic part of the Magic Kingdom is now permanently closed. As of July 7th, 2025, the Rivers of America, including the Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island, are permanently closed to make way for the new Cars area, Piston Peak. There are lots of construction walls up in the area now, and the structures on Tom Sawyer Island have been demolished. Most recently, we saw some updates to the concrete on the land, as well as leveling taking place for the new attractions — how exciting! Piston Peak construction Piston Peak National Park will be replacing this area of the Magic Kingdom. Disney has not yet announced an opening date for the new Cars area, but we do know it will feature two brand-new attractions and be themed to look like a National Park. FINALLY! It Just Got Easier To Get Into These 2 Disney World Lounges! Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Parts of) Animation Courtyard Animation Courtyard closed on September 25th, 2025, to make way for Walt Disney Studios. The courtyard area, new Disney Jr. show, and meet and greet station for Sofia the First and SupeKitties officially opened on May 26th, but we’re still waiting for the other sections of the area to open. Star Wars Launch Bay will be turned into The Magic of Disney Animation. This attraction will have you interacting and exploring with this fun take on Disney Animation headquarters, complete with the return of the Sorcerer Mickey hat! The Magic of Disney Animation in Walt Disney Studios This area will also feature a new Drawn to Wonderland indoor play area that we can’t wait to see! Muppets Courtyard Muppet*Vision 3D and PizzeRizzo closed on June 8th, 2025, and Muppets Courtyard has been walled off for construction on the new Monsters, Inc. land. Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano has been closed since May 11th, 2025. Most recently, Disney released new information about Monstropolis, saying that “Monstropolis — the monster city now powered by laughter — is getting ready to give humans a glimpse of what’s been hidden from their world for generations. Which raises an interesting question: if humans were never meant to enter the monster world … why are the doors finally opening to us?” ©Disney We’ll get to explore their world during H.U.M.A.N. Day, or “Humans Understand Monsters Are Nice” Day, with Disney continuing to say, “Human guests will have the chance to explore the city, meet its citizens, taste unique cuisine, and step into the everyday world of monsters in a totally new way. For the first time, two worlds once separated are meeting face to scaly, furry, and fang-filled face – brought together not by screams, but by laughter.” ©Disney It’s also been fully confirmed that Harryhausen’s will be one of the restaurants in the new land, which we’re beyond excited to experience. Most recently, Disney filed a permit on July 8th for The Glob Theater location, the former home of Muppet*Vision 3D, for electrical work. If you’re missing The Muppets, you can go visit them at Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets right now! REVIEW: We Are OBSESSED With These 4 NEW Hollywood Studios Snacks EPCOT La Signature La Signature, one of the stores located in the France Pavilion, closed for refurbishment on June 30th. La Signature closed The store specializes in French cosmetics and fragrances from Guerlain. During the closure, if you’re looking to buy Guerlain products, they’ll be temporarily available at the nearby Plume Et Palette. We Went to 7 Disney World Parks and Hotels in a Day — Here Are 13 New Things We Noticed Disney’s Animal Kingdom DinoLand, USA On February 2nd, DinoLand, USA, officially closed to make way for the new Tropical Americas land, Pueblo Esperanza. Most recently, we noticed that walls are beginning to be built up inside the new land, and there are several large pieces of construction equipment on the land. Lots of progress! We can also see lots of work happening at the front of the new Indiana Jones ride! Recently, Disney revised the permit they filed last August for this ride, and the new Notice of Commencement permit renews the installation through April 2027. via @bioreconstruct This new land is shaping up nicely! It will have three new rides – a carousel featuring classic Disney animals, an Indiana Jones ride where you’ll explore a Mayan temple, and an Encanto ride that invites you into the Madrigals’ home. We can’t wait to continue to see how it all shapes up. CHANGES Hit a NEW Disney’s Animal Kingdom Attraction Disney World Hotels Boat Dock — Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Starting on May 11th, the Boat Dock at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort became unavailable for guests to use due to refurbishment. The dock is closed! Boat transportation was unavailable through June 5th, but has now reopened. Construction on the dock as a whole was set to continue through late June, but has now continued into July. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa This hotel has been undergoing refurbishments for quite some time now, but some sections of the hotel — specifically the porte cochere — will continue to undergo refurbishment through at least early 2027. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort We certainly hope it’ll actually reopen on this timeline — we’re a little tired of seeing construction all over this beautiful hotel! Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort Currently, work is taking place all over Bay Lake Tower through Late 2027. Additionally, exterior elevator landing repairs will be taking place through late May 2026. Bay Lake Tower While currently no major closures are taking place due to this construction, it’s important to note that you may see or hear construction during your stay. Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort For those looking to dine at this hotel, you need to know that the Turf Club Bar & Grill and Turf Club Lounge will both be under refurbishment from mid-March through mid-September 2026. Turf Club Bar & Grill In early April, the Turf Club Lounge will close for refurbishment and will reopen in early August. In the meantime, the Turf Club Bar & Grill will remain open with a pop-up bar serving a modified Lounge food and beverage menu. Then, from early to mid-August, the Turf Club patio will close for refurbishment, and finally, from mid-August through mid-September, the Turf Club Bar & Grill will be closed for refurbishment, but the Turf Club Lounge will be open. Leisure Pools — Disney’s Yacht Club Resort and Disney’s Beach Club Resort Disney’s Yacht Club and Disney’s Beach Club Resort are currently undergoing visible exterior maintenance. The maintenance could affect views and may require alternate routes at times. In addition, two of the resort’s leisure pools will close for routine maintenance. Tidal Pool At Disney’s Yacht Club, the Admiral leisure pool will be closed for maintenance through early May 2026. At Disney’s Beach Club, the Tidal leisure pool will be closed for maintenance through early May 2026. Guests may see or hear construction work, but it will only be done during the daytime hours. Promenade Fine Art Gallery — Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and Resort The Promenade Fine Art Gallery closed its Disney’s BoardWalk location on October 20th, 2025. However, the Promenade Fine Art Gallery isn’t closing for good, and it will just be moving to a new location. Promenade Fine Art Gallery Disney just filed permits for the BoardWalk titled “Project Amazon” and “Project Bubbles” earlier this year, and now that we have a bit more information on them, we’re thinking that this currently vacant spot could soon become the home of the new Basin on the BoardWalk store on its way! The shop will be rooted in the resort’s classic boardwalk heritage and will offer a sensory shopping experience that is described as “both timeless and distinctly new.” Jellyrolls — Disney’s BoardWalk Jellyrolls at Disney’s BoardWalk officially closed on April 19th, 2025. This entertainment venue has provided our team with countless memories, and we know many others are also sad to see it close. It was just recently revealed, though, that a new lounge will be coming to the BoardWalk! ©Disney The new lounge will be called Hurly-Burly and will be a “fun-filled afternoons and glamorous evenings inside a historic seaside theatre with a vibrant BoardWalk story that spans over a century.” Based on the concept art revealed, it’s looking like the former JellyRolls building would be the best fit for this spot, but we’re also waiting to see where the new quick-service restaurant announced for the BoardWalk will be going! 6:30 AM Habits Expert Disney Fans Practice We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all the latest Disney World news, so stay tuned to DFB! 2 Restaurants You Should LEAVE the Disney Parks for This Year Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! It’s with heavy hearts that we share that Disney Legend Don Iwerks, known for being a pioneer in the development of multiple camera, projection, and other technical systems for Disney parks and films, has passed away at the age of 96 on July 9th. ©Disney To celebrate the life of such an incredible contributor to The Walt Disney Company, the company released an article detailing his life with the company and many accomplishments. Don was born on July 24th, 1929, and followed his father, animator, special effects wizard, and fellow Disney Legend Ub Iwerks, to Walt Disney Productions in 1950 and began as a special photographic processes laboratory technician. Shortly after, he was drafted to the Korean War, but returned to Disney after his two years of service. We thank him for his service. ©Disney He transferred to the Studio Machine Shop in early January 1953, where he was offered a position as a camera technician. His first film with Disney was 1954’s 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, and he eventually worked up to leading both the Machine Shop and Camera Service Department and the Technical Engineering and Manufacturing Division. ©Disney He was a big part of developing the 360-degree Circle-Vision camera, first used inside the Circarama, U.S.A. attraction in Disneyland, and for Italia ’61, Don taught an Italian film crew how to use the unique camera. Don also was part of building and developing the innovative film equipment used at the 1964–1965 New York World’s Fair, helped engineer 3-D film and in-theater effects for Captain EO, and built the projection system for Star Tours. ©Disney To recognize his various contributions to the history of film, Don was honored with the Gordon E. Sawyer Award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Board of Governors in 1997, and then recognized as a Disney Legend at the inaugural D23 Expo in 2009. You can find both his and his father’s handprints at Legends Plaza on The Walt Disney Studios lot in Burbank, California. Additionally, you can find them both honored with a window on Main Street, U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom called “Iwerks–Iwerks Stereoscopic Cameras.” ©Disney Josh D’Amaro, Disney CEO, spoke on his passing, saying, “Don embodied that rare combination of heart, ingenuity, and passion that has always defined Disney. Through his innovative contributions to some of our most iconic films and attractions, he helped create experiences that have delighted generations of fans around the world. All of us at The Walt Disney Company will miss him deeply, and we send our most heartfelt condolences to his family, whose enduring connection to Disney has helped shape its legacy for over a century.” ©Disney We send our thoughts and deepest condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew him. There are tons of differnet desserts to grab in Disney World. You have your classic DOLE Whips, that famous Mickey Ice Cream Bar, and even newbies like the Cookie Dough Brownie Ice Cream Sandwich. The newest treat! We are constantly on the hunt for those new sweet treats around the resort. This hunt is what led us to the tried-and-true spot, The Ganachery, to check out their newest limited-time dessert. Should it be your next sweet treat? We have the answer right now! Welcome to a chocolate lover’s dream! The Ganachery is the chocolate shoppe in Disney World for all things fancy and rich. This spot frequently has new treats to try, and right now, that thing is the Chocolate Pistachio Sipper for $9. The Ganachery The sipper is chocolate milk topped with pistachio cream and served in a cracking dark chocolate cup. Talk about exciting! We love it when a classic sip gets a big upgrade like this. The Chocolate Pistachio Sipper Just by looking at the cup, we could tell this was a rich, creamy, decadent milk before we even tasted it. After our first sip, we knew we were totally right! We honestly thought the drink was more of a trend, but once we got a sip of that pistachio whipped cream, we knew this was the real deal. The chocolate brings in an incredibly rich profile, and the whipped cream is light and balances the drink well. A closer look at the top! Each squeeze of the cup releases more of the dark chocolate into the cup. Stirring it makes the milk even darker and more decadent as you sip it. The pops of raspberry added a bit of tartness each time one would get into the straw. While this might be a small cup, it seriously packs a punch. If you’re a chocolate lover but you’re looking for something that isn’t ice cream or a chocolate bar, this is a great alternative. It’s like an elevated chocolate milk that made us feel like kids again. The side after we broke it This treat was everything we could have hoped for, but if you’re wanting something lighter and more refreshing, we would steer clear of this one. The treat is available until August 10th. As always, be sure to keep following DFB for more Disney snacks, reviews, and more.
