Can you believe that the new Disney World restaurant, Six Ravens, has already been open for a month? Six Ravens The new restaurant is owned by the people who own Gideon’s Bakehouse; only this place serves up hand pies. It’s been a popular spot since its opening, but it looks like it’s about to get even MORE popular. Why? Because Six Ravens now has local beers on tap! You can visit Six Ravens right now and get a local beer straight from the tap. Each of the beers that are served at Six Ravens is brand-new to the location. Six Ravens posted an announcement about the beers online. ©Six Ravens The main item you can get here is the Coffyns, which are handheld yeast rolls stuffed with different fillings. We can already imagine how good a pairing the beer on tap will be with a Coffyn. There’s a bunch that you can grab here, and each one of them has unique flavors. Six Ravens The theme of the restaurant is that the King and his crew have finished their six trials, which has gained them an audience with The Six. You can see The Six inside the restaurant, but they’re carved into ancient stone and may hold some “otherworld capacities.” So many details If you haven’t been to Six Ravens at Disney Springs yet, we seriously recommend it. From drinks to pastries to their new beers on tap, there’s a lot that keeps drawing us to this place. Now, we’re going to see ourselves there even more often. If you’re going to Disney World, you need to know what’s closed BEFORE your vacation! Sunset Boulevard It’s not uncommon to see rides, restaurants, pools, transportation, or shops close for refurbishment and updates throughout the year. Thankfully, Disney World typically includes the closure information for these offerings on the website so you can know what will be unavailable during your trip. We follow these updates closely to let our readers know what to expect, and now it looks like there’s a reopening on the horizon! Vacation Fun at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is a short film in the Mickey Shorts Theater that closed temporarily back in April. It has been closed for months since, but more recently has been used as a place where Annual Passholders can pick up their Kermit the Frog magnets. Vacation Fun Disney didn’t share a reopening date when the closure started, simply noting that the theater would reopen “later this year.” But now, Vacation Fun is showing hours starting on September 27th. Though it hasn’t been publicly announced, this likely means the show will reopen on that date. Vacation Fun The interesting thing about this closure is that the show also just had a closure in 2025, reopening right at the end of December before closing down again in April. The space hosted a May the 4th (Star Wars Day) offering during this current closure before it was used as a magnet distribution spot. Could we see it used as a space for special events more in the future? It has been used as a wristband distribution location for Jollywood Nights in the past. Mickey Shorts Theater Vacation Fun is a 10-minute short film that features Mickey and Minnie getting ready to go on a vacation. The show highlights clips from the Mickey Mouse cartoon shorts on Disney+, giving you a glimpse of all the places Mickey and Minnie have traveled in the past. It’s a great way to take a little break in the air conditioning and sit in a comfy seat for a few minutes. Plus, the exit area of the theater has some very fun photo ops! Heads up, Disney+ Subscribers, you’re about to get VERY busy in September! ©Disney From films that are looking for a new life on streaming to series both iconic and brand new, there’s a plethora of new content coming to Disney’s streaming service this September. Star Wars: The Mandalorian & Grogu It’s no secret that the Mandalorian & Grogu’s feature film debut didn’t send the box office to hyperspace. However, the latest Star Wars film could find a new, larger audience when it debuts on Disney+ – – the original home of the titular characters – – on September 2nd. ©Disney Kraven the Hunter Speaking of theatrical bombs, the Sony-produced Kraven film is set to debut on Disney+ on September 13th. While the film, based on one of Spider-Man’s oldest villains, was far from a critical favorite, the unprecedented interest in Spider-Man: Brand New Day could make the film appealing to those looking to further scratch their Spidey itch. ©Sony Project Runway Season 22 Finale The 22nd season of the iconic Project Runway has been debuting on Disney+ just after airing on Freeform throughout its run, and the season finale will be no different. The episode will drop at 10:00 PM PT on September 10th. ©Disney City of Blood Based on a graphic novel, the 8-part German vampire thriller City of Blood follows two sisters as they “uncover the shocking truth about the city’s hidden power structures – only to find themselves at the center of a life-threatening conflict.” The series, which debuts in full on September 16, stars Lea Drinda, Soma Pysall, Franz Hartwig, Jördis Triebel, David Schütter, Mouataz Alshaltouh, Jenny Schily, Dagmar Manzel, Melika Foroutan, Jan Georg Schütte, and Lars Eidinger. The 2026 iHeartRadio Music Festival The 2026 edition of the hugely influential music festival will be streamed on September 18th and 19th. The show will feature BTS, Cardi B, Goo Goo Dolls, Kenny Chesney, Weezer, Zara Larsson, Benson Boone, Ciara, Lainey Wilson, LE SSERAFIM, Major Lazer, Muse, Snoop Dogg, The Smashing Pumpkins, and Stella Lefty performing live from Las Vegas. ©iHeart Radio The Simpsons Season 37 The 37th (yes, 37TH!) season of The Simpsons will be available in full on Disney+ on September 27th. ©Disney A Double-Dose of Halloween! Finally, not one but TWO Halloween specials geared towards younger viewers are set to debut during September: Marvel’s Spidey and the Avengers: Halloween Team-Up! on September 25th and SuperKitties: Howl-O-Ween Charm on the 29th. ©Disney These are just some of the NEW pieces of content dropping on Disney+ this September! Hollywood Studios has already had a big year thanks to the opening of the Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, the addition of the Mandalorian and Grogu to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, and the announcement that Monstropolis will open in 2027. Yet with all of that, with all that, even MORE is coming on September 14th! The Magic of Disney Animation in Walt Disney Studios On that day, the Magic of Disney Animation — a new take on an opening day MGM Studios experience — will debut in the park’s new Walt Disney Studios area. The area is replacing Star Wars Launch Bay (which is a bit of theme park inception, since the Launch Bay replaced the original Magic of Disney Animation over a decade ago). This updated version will feature four distinct areas for guests to explore. ©Disney Olaf Draws The Magic of Disney Animation will host Olaf Draws, a class where YOU can learn how to draw iconic Disney animated characters! These classes will be led by Olaf himself with the help of some legendary Disney Animation artists who will help bring the class to life. Olaf will be a brand-new Audio-Animatronic figure as he welcomes people into a new space, inspired by one of his most memorable moments from Once Upon A Studio, sitting at an animator’s desk, joyfully discovering the art of drawing. Josh Gad, the voice of Olaf, returned to record original dialogue for the experience. “I’m so thrilled that a whole new generation of kids can dream of becoming animators one day and can actually begin their journey right there on the studio lot,” Gad shared. “Olaf Draws” Concept Art ©Disney In Olaf Draws, each class features a different character, so you can return again and again! You may sketch any of the following in the class: Mickey Mouse, with Dan Abraham, director (Once Upon A Studio, Baymax!) Minnie Mouse, with Hyun Min Lee, animator (Frozen 2, The Princess and the Frog) Donald Duck, with Austin Traylor, animator (Once Upon A Studio, Moana 2) Genie, with Eric Goldberg, animator (Aladdin, Hercules) Moana, with Samantha Vilfort, story artist (Encanto, Zootopia 2) Stitch, with Fawn Veerasunthorn, director and head of story (Wish, Raya and the Last Dragon) Olaf, with Trent Correy, director (Once Upon A Studio, Frozen 3) Ursula, with Michael Woodside, animator (Big Hero 6, Encanto) Judy Hopps & Nick Wilde, with Byron Howard, director (Zootopia, Zootopia 2 ©Disney Disney Character Greetings at “Off the Page” Guests will meet beloved Disney characters across “six unique departments from the animation studio,” including Story, Layout, Hand-Drawn Animation, Computer Animation, Lighting, and Effects. Though specific characters may vary, here are some examples of whom you may encounter, and where: Mulan in Story (posing in front of an oversized storyboard panel) Rapunzel in Layout (in “a setting inspired by the classic multiplane camera”) Chip n’ Dale in Hand-Drawn Animation Donald and Daisy in CG Animation Goofy in Lighting Stitch in Effects ©Disney Drawn to Wonderland Playground This area will feature a whimsical indoor play area for the “youngest animators-to-be” with an “oversized flower garden with musical instruments, a Mad Tea Party playset, and a Tugley Wood exploration area,” all inspired by Mary Blair’s original concept art for Alice in Wonderland. ©Disney The Once Upon A Studio Theater The Once Upon A Studio Theater will present the Emmy Award-winning short film Once Upon A Studio, upon which The Magic of Disney Animation is based. In addition, the theater will also present “enhanced effects that add an extra layer of magic.” ©Disney For instance, “you may spot characters popping up within the artwork along the theater walls, placing you right in the middle of this enchanting story.” ©Disney On September 14th, the newly reimagined Magic of Disney Animation attraction is set to open at Hollywood Studios! If you’re going to Disney World, you absolutely NEED to download the My Disney Experience app. Magic Kingdom This app is your lifeline in the parks, showcasing everything from attraction wait times to showtimes for shows to maps to help you navigate the parks and resorts. You can use it to Mobile Order food or make dining reservations…there are so many ways it’ll be useful during your trip. But right now, it’s having a bit of an issue! One of the most helpful features in the My Disney Experience app is the search function. Here, you can search for offerings all around Disney World — characters, shops, dining locations, rides, shows, and more. It’s incredibly useful for finding things without having to dig through the many tabs of the map page. ©Disney Unfortunately, our team discovered a glitch today…the search function isn’t working! Several different people on our team had this problem on the morning of Tuesday, September 8th, where we couldn’t get any results to come up, no matter what we searched. UPDATE: As of the afternoon, the search function appears to be working again. No significant changes have been applied yet. ©Disney Now, this could be related to Disney changing the search function overall. We reported earlier this year that Disney would be making changes to the app in a variety of ways, including a new AI-powered search feature. This will make it easier to search full questions instead of just locations or attractions. ©Disney Up until now, you’ve only been able to search keywords. The “full question search” model will likely be more streamlined for folks who haven’t been to Disney World before and aren’t familiar with terminology and official names. Instead of searching for Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe, you may be able to ask something like “Where can I get a burger in Magic Kingdom?” My Disney Experience app ©Disney Of course, we’ll be on the lookout for the official launch of the new search function, and we’ll report back when it’s live. Subscribe to our newsletter for the latest, and let us know if you’re also seeing this glitch! See All the Changes Coming to the Disney World App Here! We love Disney theme parks, but you can get Disney magic without traveling to California or Florida. We’re always watching Disney movies in theaters and on Disney+, but you can also catch musicals based on your favorite movies when they travel to a nearby city. ©Disney Disney has musicals that travel and have residencies on Broadway, and this musical just made a first-ever casting decision, and we’re obsessed. Disney’s Aladdin has been on the New York City stage for 12 years, and for the first time, a woman will play the iconic Genie role when the show debuts a new cast member in October. Say hi to Sherri Shepherd, who you might know from The View. She is the first woman to play Genie on Broadway and in any of the 11 Disney-produced stage adaptations of Aladdin worldwide. In a press statement, Shepherd said, “Joining Aladdin on Broadway is an absolute dream come true — and an incredible honor. The Genie is such an iconic character, and I’m beyond excited to bring my own energy, humor, heart, and a little bit more magic to the role.” ©Disney She also said that she hopes “audiences see themselves in this Genie and leave the theater feeling so much joy and inspired to believe in the impossible.” Shepherd says she is not taking this role lightly, as it is her history-making turn as the first woman to play Genie. ©Disney “I’m ready to rub the lamp, unleash some magic, and have the time of my life on Broadway.” Previous Genie actors include Major Attaway, Michael James Scott, and Caleb A. Barnett. James Monroe Iglehart, who originated the part on the New York City stage, even won a Tony for the role in 2014. ©Disney Shepherd is taking on the role on October 16th and will continue through January 3rd at the New Amsterdam Theater. We’re excited to see how she takes on the role and what the audience thinks. Make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more Disney news. CHECK OUT OTHER MAJOR DISNEY CHANGES HERE! Disney Springs is home to some of our favorite spots to grab dessert in all of Disney World, partly because there are just so many choices! Who’s ready for some cake? Sometimes, we find the most interesting desserts where we least expect them, like GIANT slices of cake over at table service restaurants. We headed over to The BOATHOUSE to try out their new cake slice that follows a big trend right now — this is a dot cake like you’ve never seen before! A slice of the Dot Cake at The BOATHOUSE will cost you $26.50, and YES, that’s a lot of money to pay for cake, but when you see the size of this thing, we think you’ll understand. This is Citrus Cream Cake, White Chocolate Mascarpone, White Chocolate Ganache, and Vanilla Ice Cream, which we were very excited to try. Though, since we did get ours to go, we didn’t get ice cream with ours. Dot Cake Is this cake worth the price, though? Well, it WAS delicious; we’ll start with that. It was surprisingly citrusy, with the taste of orange especially coming through, and we really enjoyed that. The cake itself was very moist and dense, and while the cake’s outside wasn’t covered in dot sprinkles like the viral dot cakes are, they were poured on top and added a nice crunch. The cake overall wasn’t as sweet as we thought it would be, even with the white chocolate, which was a big win, because it was still rich in flavor. Look at that! Now, we do think the price makes it hard to justify getting it again, but if we were splitting it with some friends, we’d consider it, because it truthfully is VERY easy to share, and that would bring the price down per person as well. EPCOT’s Food & Wine Festival kicked off at the end of August, and we were there to try all of the booths and offerings, old and new. However, just because opening day has passed doesn’t mean we’ve seen everything EPCOT’s premier annual event has to offer, as there’s still MORE to come. The EPCOT Food and Wine Festival September 9th will see the debut of another booth at the festival. However, this isn’t just any Food & Wine Festival booth; it’s this year’s version of Festival Favorites! However, the Festival Favorites booth isn’t the only one still on its way to the 2026 event. The Wedge Hosted By Dairy Does More is scheduled to open on September 18th, while India, Coastal Eats, Earth Eats, and the Alps are all scheduled to open on October 2nd. The India booth is coming in October While the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival has already begun, there are still booths yet to come, including this year’s version of Festival Favorites, which is opening on September 9th. Disneyland, you did not hold back with these snacks! Let’s eat! We’re always looking for new snacks at Disney World and Disneyland, and while we have our returning favorites, we could probably live off of the new snacks they drop every week. This time, we’re heading to two different restaurants to try some dishes that we don’t think we’ll ever be able to live without. First up, we’re heading to Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante, located in Frontierland. We started with the Mexican-style Shrimp Cocktail for $12.99, with poached shrimp, tomatoes, red onions, cilantro, cucumber, celery, and spicy cocktail sauce served with crackers. Shrimp Cocktail While we thought this was a solid shrimp cocktail, it wasn’t necessarily our favorite dish of all time. The tomato sauce has some sweetness, and a lot of tartness still shines through. There’s a good amount of spice and a bit of a kick at the end. The shrimp are perfectly cooked, and the flavors work well together; you also get about ten shrimp, so it’s easy to share. We wish we got a little more for the price, and we had a lot of tomato sauce left by the end, so we needed a bit more shrimp! We also had the Nachos for $14.99, made with tortilla chips, beans, guajillo cheese sauce, house-made tomatillo salsas, red jalapeños, sour cream, and guacamole. Nachos This isn’t the first time this restaurant has had nachos, and in the past, they were some of our favorite foods in the park! You’ll want to eat these as soon as they come out because the toppings can make the nachos very cheesy. They have a bit of a spicy kick from two different salsas, plus flavorful cheese, and while the flavors all go together, we wish we could add a protein on top, like beef or pork. When we asked, it wasn’t an available option, and it wasn’t as fresh as we were hoping. It felt particularly one-note and a bit underwhelming. When you need nachos, this might do the trick, but you’ll likely find better meals throughout the park. Lots of toppings To drink, we grabbed the Horchata Slushy for $8.49. Horchata Slushy This was the highlight of our meal! It tastes just like authentic horchata and was super refreshing and delicious. We loved that it wasn’t that expensive of an add-on and really brought the whole meal together. We had one more stop for the day before we called it quits. We went to Bengal Barbecue in Adventureland to grab the Garlic Naan, which is grilled bread basted with herb butter, for $5.79. Garlic Naan The bread was fluffy, buttery, and super garlicky! We loved the flame-broiled, toasted flavor of the bread, and once you add a skewer like the Bengal Beef Skewer, it’s a total game changer. It’s filling and a great addition to Bengal Barbecue, and we’ll be adding it every time we order from here. With the beef In the meantime, make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more of our favorite snacks and dishes you’ll want to try on your next Disneyland vacation. We visited Dollywood and fell in love with the park. Between thrilling rides, incredible food, and fun vibes, there’s a lot to do across the Dollywood resort! The Dolly Parton Experience While the rides, shows, and food are super fun, there’s one major draw of Dollywood that you’re probably overlooking on your next trip. Dollywood has so many fun extras, from playgrounds to entertainment, games, and walk-through exhibits, that MADE our trip. You can’t miss out on these 13 Dollywood experiences! Walk-Through Exhibits The most iconic extra is the Dolly Parton Experience. This is a full-length museum dedicated to country icon Dolly Parton, and it’s included with the price of your ticket. The giant pink butterfly is a Dollywood icon, and snapping a picture is a MUST! The Dolly Parton Experience You’ll get to walk through Dolly’s whole life from when she was little, to when she joined the Porter Wagner show, to when she kickstarted her solo career. The museum is interactive, with photo ops, immersive screens, memorabilia displays, and a live tracker showing how many books Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library Foundation has donated to kids. Watching the number go up is SO satisfying! Right across from the Dolly Parton Experience, you’ll find another museum. Behind the Seams showcases Dolly’s many styles over the years, and you can see some of her most iconic looks in person! Behind The Seams You can also visit Dolly’s Home on Wheels, Dolly Parton’s personal tour bus that she used to travel from show to show. Dolly’s Home on Wheels The Robert F. Thomas Chapel is a working historical church with Sunday services. If you’ll be at Dollywood in 2027 and beyond, the courtyard is getting a Dolly Parton memorial in May 2027 to mark her favorite spot in the theme park. Robert F. Thomas Chapel While you’re in Craftsman’s Valley, don’t forget to pay a visit to the Calico Falls Schoolhouse to see what a classic Tennessee school would’ve looked like back in the 1890s. Calico Falls Schoolhouse Over in Rivertown Junction, you have to check out Dolly’s Tennessee Mountain Home. While this isn’t Dolly Parton’s actual mountain home, it’s an exact replica to show you where Dolly used to live while she was growing up. Dolly’s Tennessee Mountain Home Entertainment You can’t miss the icon of Wildwood Grove, the Wildwood Tree! If you’re visiting Dollywood after dark, the Wildwood Tree comes to life multiple times throughout the evening with glowing and dancing butterflies, music, and a story from Dolly Parton herself. The Wildwood Tree is all lit up! Play Areas Wildwood Grove has two play areas for kids. Hidden Hollow is an indoor playground where your littles can roam, climb, and burn as much steam as their little hearts desire, while parents can sit in the air-conditioning and take a much-needed breather. Hidden Hollow At Wildwood Creek Splash Pad, they can keep playing and cool down with some fun in the sun right beside the Wildwood Tree. Wildwood Creek Splash Pad Owens Farm is hiding a great spot for little kids. Your littles can explore Granny’s Garden and Lil’ Pilots Playground to get out some energy. Lil’ Pilots Playground ©Dollywood In Wilderness Pass, younger kiddos can play in the Firehouse Fun Yard playground while they wait for the bigger kiddos to finish riding Wild Eagle and Fire Chaser Express. Firehouse Fun Yard Carnival Games You can play carnival games around the park in Country Fair, Craftsman’s Valley, and Wilderness Pass. While they cost extra, you can compete to win prizes, and it’s a super fun experience if you’re not on a strict budget. Country Fair We won this little bear holding a Dollywood Cinnamon Bread! He’s SOOO cute! These 13 extras are a must-do at Dollywood, so make sure to check these out on your next Dollywood visit! Stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more theme park guides. We’re chicken tender experts here at DFB. No, really, we have tried just about all the chicken tenders across Disney World, and we have a lot of opinions about them. Pizzafari New chicken tenders were released in Disney World, so you know we were braving the summer storms with raincoats and umbrellas to grab them. Y’all, these might be worth the sauce alone. We grabbed the Baked Chicken Tenders at Pizzafari in Animal Kingdom. They are served with a tangy dipping sauce and kettle chips for $12.99. Baked Chicken Tenders At first dip, we were completely in love. The sauce was incredible! It was tangy, a little spicy, creamy, and sweet, and our reporter said it was completely “divine.” It reminded us of a tangier Thousand Island dressing. Do not skip the sauce! The chicken tenders were also very good and stayed crunchy even after sitting out in the Florida humidity for a bit. They’re very crunchy, but with much less fried batter on the outside than traditional chicken tenders. They were salty and peppery on the outside and perfectly juicy on the inside. Tender goodness They’re not particularly big, but you do get four tenders, which is nice. The chips were also crunchy and well seasoned, and we would definitely grab these again, even if it’s just for the sauce. Bring on the sauce! If you’re a chicken tender fan looking to change things up, or someone who obsesses over sauces with every meal, then you’ll probably want to grab the Baked Chicken Tenders. It’s also a great option if you’re a bit tired of all the fried food you’ve been having at Disney World. It’s great to have something lighter, but still have a filling and fun meal that you can eat with the family and not be asking yourself, “Why did I order the salad??” We are a little too obsessed with these We’re always in Disney World trying new snacks and dishes, so make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more of the best reviews you need to know before you head to Disney World yourself. Planning a Disney vacation can sometimes feel like learning another language. Someone tells you to rope drop EPCOT, make your ADRs at 60+10, buy LLMP, check the blockout dates on your AFS ticket, and maybe take the Monorail from the TTC. If you’re new to Disney planning, you might reasonably wonder what any of that […] The post Disney Planning Terms Explained (Without the Confusion) appeared first on Military Disney Tips. One thing you gotta’ love about Disney World this time of the year is all the fall and Halloween-themed snacks that come to the parks, hotels, and Disney Springs. We love making our way throughout the resort and trying all the new ones, which is why we recently headed to Swirls on the Water in Disney Springs. New DOLE Whip Flight! Swirls on the Water is THE place in Disney Springs to get DOLE Whip treats, so when we learned that some new menu items had arrived at this snack spot, we were there SO FAST to try them out. So let’s see what we thought! First up, a new DOLE Whip Flight is now available for $8.99. You get three flavors: DOLE Whip Pineapple and Vanilla Soft-serve topped with a Fresh Pineapple Wedge, DOLE Whip Raspberry and DOLE Whip Peach with Raspberry Crisps and Peach Pie Filling, and Pumpkin Soft-Serve (YES, IT’S PUMPKIN SEASON!) and Chocolate Soft-Serve with White Sprinkles. September DOLE Whip Flight Okay, so we already know we love the DOLE Whip Pineapple with the Vanilla Soft-Serve, so it’s no secret that it’s a tasty combo. It’s a classic…and with good reason. It’s sweet…it’s sour…it’s creamy. We also loved the fresh pineapple wedge that added a nice touch. Like most DOLE Whip desserts, though, it melts fast. Pineapple and vanilla The DOLE Whip Raspberry and DOLE Whip Peach is very sour, and we’ll admit we were disappointed with it. The taste is very artificial. We didn’t get a lot of the peach flavor because the raspberry just overwhelmed everything. The peach filling is a basic pie filling. The crisps also tasted sour and artificial. We’re not a fan of this one. Raspberry and peach Okay, let’s talk about the Pumpkin Soft-Serve with Chocolate Soft-Serve Swirl. We thought this was a really odd flavor combo, especially as the chocolate overwhelms the pumpkin flavor and tastes fake. We think we would have preferred it if we’d just had the Pumpkin Soft-Serve by itself. Pumpkin and chocolate Here’s what’s weird, though…these flavors work out well for the Vampire Mickey Cone for $7.49, which is made with a Pumpkin and Chocolate Soft-Serve, White Sprinkles, and Chocolate Mickey Coin in a Chocolate Cone. Maybe it was the addition of the chocolate cone, which is tasty. It’s still an odd mix, but it works better here. Vampire Mickey Cone We also tried the Peach-Raspberry Sundae for $7.29. It’s made with DOLE Whip Peach swirled with DOLE Whip Raspberry, with Peach Pie Filling, Streusel, Raspberry Crisps, and Whipped Topping, served in a Waffle Bowl. We’ve had this before, and it was a big hit for us at the time. We really liked it this time, too. The flavors are better balanced than what you get with the DOLE Whip flight. Peach Raspberry Sundae We also appreciated the peaches in the peach pie filling that made this taste a bit more authentic. The whipped cream doesn’t add much, but the streusel gives some texture. The waffle bowl, though, is pretty plain. We liked this, though We’ll be back with even more food reviews in Disney World, so stay tuned to DFB for more. There are tons of spots that are considered famous Disney stops. That being said, some are truly iconic, while others are just viral for the moment. Let’s test it together! Trader Sam’s in Disneyland! Now, THAT spot is genuinely iconic. This popular bar, located at the Disneyland Hotel, offers up seriously fun tiki cocktails, delicious food, and more. For a limited time, you can check out their Halloween menu, and here’s what we think about one of the newest items. Welcome to Trader Sam’s! The themed bar is an excellent spot to relax and take a load off when you’re not in the parks, thanks to the fun atmosphere and delicious menu. This year, the spirits have spoken for Trader Sam’s 15th anniversary, and they’ve brought three drinks back from the dead! The Halloween Menu! When we stopped by, we grabbed the Cloaked Specter (RIP 2013) for $20! This drink is made with Planteray O.F.T.D., Planteray Original Dark Rum, Parrot Bay Coconut Rum, Pineapple Juice, Lime Juice, Falernum, Cinnamon, and Angostura Bitters. How pretty is this? We are SO excited that the spirits spoke this drink onto the menu, but be cautious. This drink was dangerous in the best way possible. The pineapple juice hit us immediately upon sipping it with that familiar fruity and slightly acidic flavor. The rum notes came after the fact. The rum was sweet and warm in flavor, making the drink feel more well-rounded. The flower on top! The drink was (unsurprisingly) perfectly tropical and made us feel like we were ready to relax on the beach. As we enjoyed it, it was super refreshing and was great to enjoy over the course of a meal. We would happily grab this one again and again! This drink is only around for a limited time, so don’t hesitate if you want to try it yourself. The front of the menu! We love that Disney is using this spooky season to resurrect some old favorites, and we can’t wait to grab the others before they’re gone. As always, be sure to keep following DisneyFoodBlog for more Disney reviews, news, and updates. Thirty years is a long time to be feeding EPCOT. Over three decades, the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival has given us dishes we still think about, dishes Disney has wisely brought back again and again, and a few things that probably deserved to remain a blurry photo in an old Festival Passport. Check inside the passport For the Festival’s 30th anniversary, Disney decided to crack open the archives. There are 30 special Legacy Items scattered around the 2026 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival, with dishes either returning from previous festivals or getting reimagined for 2026. Naturally, we tried them. And after working our way through the ones released so far, one thing became pretty clear. Nostalgia can get a dish back onto the menu, but that doesn’t mean we’re gonna like it. TL;DR Summary In case you need a quick reference guide, here’s the break down of all of the 30th Anniversary Legacy items, where to find them, and our thoughts for 2026. Some of booths haven’t opened yet, so there’s still a chance some of our favorite legacy items are yet to come! Item # Anniversary item Location DFB verdict so far 1 Warm Raclette Swiss Cheese The Alps Opens Oct. 2 2 Roasted Lamb Chop Australia HIT. Tender, flavorful, chips still work ridiculously well. 3 Belgian Waffle with Cookie Butter Belgium HIT, although VERY sweet. Cookie butter and speculoos absolutely run the show. 4 Pão de Queijo Brazil BIG HIT. Fluffy, cheesy, gooey, still fantastic. 5 Pickle Milk Shake Brew-Wing HIT, with an asterisk the size of Spaceship Earth. More pickle-forward this year, but still fun if you are Team Pickle. 6 Cheddar and Bacon Soup Canada HIT. Soup remains excellent; pretzel roll was tougher than ideal. 7 Canadian Filet Mignon Canada HIT. Flavorful crust, creamy potatoes, properly cooked filet. 8 Dumplings Trio China HIT. Crispy dumplings, tender fillings, excellent sweet-tangy sauce. 9 Potato Pierogi Festival Favorites Opens Sept. 9 10 Bo Ssam Pork Belly Lettuce Wraps Festival Favorites Opens Sept. 9 11 Pumpkin Cheesecake Mousse Trifle Festival Favorites Opens Sept. 9 12 Rodizio-style Grilled Beef Skewer Flavors From Fire MISS. Chewy and overcooked, especially disappointing after 2025’s juicy version. 13 Trio d’Escargots France BIG HIT. Massive improvement over 2025, with fluffy, flaky dough and tender escargot. 14 Schinkennudeln Germany HIT. Creamy, cheesy and unapologetically heavy. 15 Apple Strudel Germany HIT. Excellent vanilla sauce and apple-cinnamon flavor; apples were a bit mushy. 16 Chicken Souvlaki Gyro Greece MIXED. Good chicken and fresh flavors, but some wilted/mushy lettuce dragged it down. 17 Slow-roasted Pork Slider Hawai‘i BIG HIT. Juicy pork, pineapple sweetness, great balance. 18 Gulf Coast-style Seafood Roll Hops & Barley MIXED. The buttery brioche did a lot of the rescue work against a noticeably fishier filling. 19 Potato-Pea Samosas India Opens Oct. 2 20 Chicken Tikka Masala India Opens Oct. 2 21 Pollo al Marsala Italy BIG HIT. Juicy chicken, flavorful gnocchi and Marsala mushrooms. A redemption arc nobody expected from Italy. 22 Spicy Temaki Hand Roll Japan MISS. Tough seaweed, little heat, fish-forward flavor and an overall dry bite. 23 Taco de Camarón Mexico HIT. Great shrimp, crunch and creamy aioli, although we wanted the breading crispier. 24 Freshly Baked Carrot Cake Milled & Mulled BIG HIT. Moist, balanced and exactly sweet enough. 25 Sweet Potato Mealie Pap Refreshment Outpost HIT for spice fans. Legit heat, nicely cooked vegetables, filling plant-based option. 26 Paella Caldoso Spain BIG HIT. Creamy saffron rice, smoky chorizo, juicy chicken. 27 Frozen Szarlotka Swirled Showcase HIT. Essentially frozen apple cider in a very good way; streusel gets mushy if you dawdle. 28 Liquid Nitrogen Almond Truffle Mousse Swirled Showcase MISS/MIDDLE. Good chocolate mousse, but caramel disappeared and we wouldn’t make a special trip for it. 29 Ras el Hanout Cauliflower Bowl Tangierine Café GOOD, NOT MEMORABLE. Well-seasoned and tasty, but not especially unique. 30 Crab and Corn Macaroni and Cheese The Wedge Opens Sept. 18 So, Did Disney’s 30th Anniversary Experiment Work? Mostly, yes. The biggest lesson from eating through Disney’s 30 years of Festival history was that the dishes with staying power generally earned it. Pão de Queijo is still excellent. The Canadian classics are still classics. The Carrot Cake remains one of the best values at the Festival. Hawai‘i’s pork slider can come back whenever it wants. All of the option from Canada But we were even more interested in the foods Disney actually improved. France took an escargot dish we struggled with last year and fixed the texture. Italy resurrected a Marsala dish and somehow made Italy one of our surprise recommendations. Spain rebuilt its paella into one of the Festival’s strongest savory bites. Those are the anniversary foods we want more of. Full booth Keep the recipes that work. Fix the ones that almost worked. And when 30 years of history tell you something was chewy, dry, or forgettable, perhaps nostalgia does not require a rematch. We’ve eaten our way around the entire 2026 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival, so keep checking DFB for all of our reviews, rankings, tips, and increasingly strong opinions about tiny plates of food. 9 Weird, Hilarious, and Shocking Things That Happened on EPCOT Food and Wine Festival Opening Day Read More About the Food & Wine Festival Hit or Miss: We Tried All 30 “Reimagined” Menu Items at the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival2 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival Booths Open THIS MONTHREVIEW: This EPCOT Food & Wine Festival Breakfast Got More Expensive and Less BoozyThe Disney World News We CAN’T Shut Up AboutREVIEW: We Don’t Care That It’s a Slushy, This EPCOT Food & Wine Treat Is Way Better Than We Expected IT'S WINE & DINE TIME! Have you ever wanted to dine and drink like a pirate from Pirates of the Caribbean? Well, Disney offers you that opportunity at The Beak and Barrel in Magic Kingdom. The entire bar is pirate-themed, and, as a result, it’s a pretty popular spot where getting reservations can be difficult at times. The Beak and Barrel However, you might have better luck visiting The Beak and Barrel during a special event like Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Well, here’s your chance to visit this bar during a limited special ticketed event. That’s right. If you’re attending Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, you can take a break from your holiday shenanigans and get up to some pirate shenanigans instead at The Beak and Barrel. The restaurant will be open during the party, and reservations (which are highly recommended) are available now. The Beak and Barrel If you are a Disney World resort guest, you can make reservations up to 60 days in advance of your arrival for the entire length of your stay, up to 10 nights. So if you’ve already bought your Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party tickets and you’re 60 days away from the first day of your Disney World trip, make reservations now on the Disney World website or My Disney Experience app. If you’re not staying at a Disney World resort, you can make reservations starting on September 9th. Siren’s Whisper Need some ideas of what food and drinks you should order at The Beak and Barrel? Well, we really like the Island Provisions, especially if you’re looking to share food with someone. Island Provisions For something with a little boozy kick, try the Lit Fuse. It’s smoky, but it’s got a great banana flavor…so, yeah, we are kinda’ BANANAS for this drink. Lit Fuse Grab the Cursed Treasure for something refreshing without the booze. It’s an indulgent blend of coconut milk and cookie crumbs topped with vanilla foam and pirate’s gold. YUM. It’s like a sweet cream soda. Kids will probably love it, too. Cursed Treasure We’ll be talking more about Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party soon, so stay tuned to DFB for more. Disney Halloween merchandise has reached that dangerous point in the season where we’re starting to think, “Well, technically I could make everything I own pumpkin-shaped.” And Disney is not helping. ©Disney A new Halloween MagicBand+ has arrived online, and between Mickey pumpkins, Minnie pumpkins, bats, candy, and enough orange to be visible from approximately three lands away, we have a feeling Disney Halloween fans are going to be VERY interested in this one. Mickey and Minnie Mouse Jack-o’-Lanterns Halloween MagicBand+ – Limited Release The Mickey and Minnie Mouse Jack-o’-Lanterns Halloween MagicBand+ – Limited Release is priced at $54.99, and honestly, Disney knew exactly which buttons it was pushing here. The strap features Mickey and Minnie transformed into adorable jack-o’-lanterns, surrounded by tiny bats and candies. The tappable icon keeps the theme going with another Mickey jack-o’-lantern design. It’s part of Disney’s Mickey Mouse Family Halloween Collection and, importantly, this one is a limited release. ©Disney Which means this probably isn’t the MagicBand you bookmark and casually reconsider in November. Beyond looking like Halloween exploded directly onto your wrist, this is a MagicBand+, so you’ll still get all the usual functionality. It can be used to enter the Disney World theme parks with valid admission, tap into Lightning Lane entrances when you have a valid Lightning Lane entry, and link Disney PhotoPass photos to your account. ©Disney MagicBand+ also has color-changing lights, vibrations, gesture recognition, and interactions with select experiences around the parks. Translation: your pumpkin Mickey isn’t merely decorative. He has responsibilities. And we can absolutely see this becoming one of those Disney accessories that starts appearing EVERYWHERE during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party season. It’s festive without requiring you to wear an entire costume, and Mickey and Minnie dressed as jack-o’-lanterns fall squarely into the category of Disney merchandise we did not know we needed until Disney put it in front of us. ©Disney Because this is a limited release, availability could disappear faster than the good candy from the Halloween bowl. If you’ve been looking for a new MagicBand+ for your fall Disney World trip, you may want to check Disney Store now. And keep checking back with DFB, because Disney Halloween merchandise season is clearly nowhere near finished with our wallets. view ON THE DISNEY STORE We’re always on the hunt for the latest and greatest Disney souvenirs and essentials, so don’t forget to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for more! We’re counting down to 2027 because there is so much coming to Disney World. One of those is Pueblo Esperanza, the Tropical Americas-themed land coming to Animal Kingdom. ©Disney This expansion will include three rides, with one focused on Encanto, where you can enter the Casita. Disney Imagineer Joe Rohde has something very interesting to say about the ride. On Instagram, Joe Rohde has been sharing a lot about the Tropical Americas. Rohde was a huge force behind Animal Kingdom, and while he isn’t leading these projects, we often turn to Imagineers like him for their thoughts. ©Disney Rohde was explaining how difficult it is to deliver plotlines in theme parks due to time constraints. Instead of 90 minutes to tell a storyline, you only have a few minutes, and audiences can look all over the place rather than in one direction on the movie screen. ©Disney He talked about how you can focus on a scene where riders already know the stakes, so they can just enjoy the action. The Encanto ride will be just like this. It’s going to focus on Antonio’s gift day, which is interesting because Antonio is a side character, and not one of the two guiding forces, Mirabel and Bruno. Rohde argues that without Antonio’s connection to animals, there would be no reason for Encanto to be in Animal Kingdom, since it’s about family and humans, whereas Animal Kingdom focuses on animals. Casita attraction ride vehicle models Antonio’s gift with animals makes sense for Animal Kingdom and has given them a platform to bring Encanto into the park. Rohde says, “But as stated by Joan Hartwig, Creative Executive over the project, Antonio’s gift opens up the theme of ‘family and extends it to include all the creatures around us. We are all one family. Animals included. And that is a good moral lesson for Disney’s Animal Kingdom.” Capybara! What do you think about this ride focusing on a side character vs a main one? Does it feel any different to you than other rides?
