  2. There is something special about escaping to the great outdoors without ever leaving the magic of Walt Disney World Resort. Nestled on 750 acres of pine and cypress forest, Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground feels like a destination all its own. From peaceful mornings surrounded by nature to evenings spent gathered around a crackling campfire, every stay offers a chance to slow down, explore, and create a Disney vacation that feels a little different from anywhere else. Now, there are even more ways to enjoy a day at the resort, with an expanded Meadow Swimmin’ Pool area and a recently refreshed Reception Outpost that makes arriving at this beloved retreat feel smoother and more welcoming than ever. Make a Splash at the Expanded Meadow Swimmin’ Pool Area The Meadow Swimmin’ Pool has always been a favorite place to cool off between adventures, and the recently expanded area makes room for even more fun and relaxation. A new zero-entry pool and additional deck space have been added alongside the existing pool, effectively doubling the space for all to enjoy. Whether you prefer a relaxing swim, kicking back poolside, or heading straight for the 67-foot corkscrew waterslide, there are plenty of ways to make the most of a sunny resort day. The rustic setting also includes a special nod to a piece of Walt Disney World history. Keep an eye out for an old-fashioned barrel carriage featuring Mickey Mouse in his camping gear and a tribute to Disney’s River Country, the original Walt Disney World water park that once welcomed guests next door to Fort Wilderness. A Refreshed Welcome at the Reception Outpost The resort experience begins from the moment you arrive, and recent updates at the Reception Outpost help make that first welcome feel even more seamless and personal. The refreshed space allows cast members to connect with guests as they arrive and help families get settled before heading out to explore everything Fort Wilderness has to offer. Above the fireplace, new artwork adds a playful layer of Disney storytelling to the entry area, featuring Mickey Mouse and friends enjoying outdoor adventures along the water in a scene that feels right at home in the resort’s rustic setting. As you look up, you will also spot three playful scenes featuring Donald Duck’s nephews, Huey, Dewey, and Louie, enjoying some of the activities that make a Fort Wilderness stay so memorable, like archery, fishing, and camping beneath the trees. Make a Day of It at Fort Wilderness One of the best parts of a Fort Wilderness stay is that there are plenty of ways to enjoy a memorable day at the resort between theme park adventures. Fort Wilderness Tip: After checking into your campsite or Disney Vacation Club cabin, be sure to take a look at your resort recreation guide for a full list of available activities. Feeling adventurous? Start the morning with a horseback ride along serene woodland trails, grab a paddle and explore the waterways by canoe, take in the scenery during Wilderness Back Trail Adventure or test your aim during the Fort Wilderness Archery Experience. There are also plenty of simple ways to enjoy the natural scenery, whether you are cruising around the resort on a golf cart, hopping on a bike or taking a relaxing walk beneath the pine trees. As the sun goes down, gather around the fire for Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Campfire Sing-A-Long, where resort guests can roast marshmallows and spend time with two of their favorite Disney pals. If you are looking to even more singing, dancing, and laughter to your evening, I highly recommend making a reservation for Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue. It’s been delighting generations of guests at Pioneer Hall with lively entertainment and a country feast for more than 50 years, making it a can’t-miss experience for your Fort Wilderness stay. More Reasons to Stay in the Magic A day at Fort Wilderness can feel worlds away, but the rest of Walt Disney World Resort is still within easy reach. Resort guests can take advantage of complimentary transportation, including watercraft and bus service, to help keep their vacation moving smoothly. Staying at a Disney Resort hotel also comes with conveniences like early theme park entry, giving you a 30-minute jump on your Disney day at all four theme parks with valid admission. Whether you are planning a full resort day, winding down after a theme park adventure, or simply looking for a peaceful place to reconnect with family, Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground offers a one-of-a-kind way to stay in the magic. 4. After months of questions, we FINALLY know what’s coming to Disney’s BoardWalk Resort. Disney’s BoardWalk Construction After what felt like an eternity of sitting vacant, big changes are finally coming to some long-abandoned spaces at the popular Deluxe Tier Disney World Resort. Since JellyRolls – – the hotel’s very popular longtime dueling piano bar location – – shut its doors back in April 2025, the BoardWalk’s nighttime offerings have been limited. However, that’s about to change thanks to Hurly-Burly! This new spot will “welcome guests for fun-filled afternoons and glamorous evenings inside a historic seaside theatre with a vibrant BoardWalk story that spans over a century.” ©Disney The lounge will offer two distinct experiences for guests. During the day, Hurly-Burly will act as a family-friendly venue with activities and trivia games. At night, it will transition to a 21+ live music venue with coastal-inspired cocktails and light bites. So far, Disney hasn’t confirmed if Hurly-Burly will be coming to the former JellyRolls exact location, but the concept art and construction at the former site do seem to hint at such. The Former Jellyrolls The opening of Hurly-Burly will add another dining option to Disney World’s already large selection of offerings. Between the reviews, menus, and reservation strategies, it’s a lot to sort through. Our Guide to Disney World Dining pulls it all together so you can stop stressing and focus on the fun without feeling like you’re missing a thing! The BoardWalk will also see the opening of a new Basin location. Dubbed Basin on the BoardWalk, the new location for the longtime Disney partner will offer the expected curated collection of handcrafted products including natural soaps, botanical bath salts, bath bombs, body butters, shampoo and conditioner bars, as well as interactive elements that make the experience more unique, including a custom bath tea blending counter, a make-your-own-soap station, and a soap embossing press for a personalized finishing touch. ©Disney Both Basin on the BoardWalk and Hurly-Burly are scheduled to open later in 2026, as is a yet-unnamed quick service location. 5. Disneyland is all about NEW these days! Welcome, BigBoi Lumpia Co! The theme park is wrapping up its big 70th anniversary celebrations and planning BIG things for the future. While we made our way through the resort hunting for all of the big updates and new changes, we noticed we were a little peckish! What better way to satisfy our hunger than to check out the brand-new BigBoi Lumpia Co. snack stand in Downtown Disney? Welcome to Downtown Disney, BigBoi Lumpia! This is a Los Angeles-based company that focuses on Filipino comfort food, specifically lumpia. This new snack stand offers up three savory lumpia and two sweet lumpia. During our stop by, they also had a sign for a limited-time apple pie flavor. The menu During our stop by, we tested out 3 of the new flavors, starting with the Pork Lumpia for $14. This snack comes with a sweet chili sauce and 12 lumpia in each box. Two of our items together! While they might look small and simple from the outside, the inside packs a punch of flavor. The seasoning on the pork was very apparent and perfectly savory. Every bite into the snack came with a perfect crunch thanks to the deep-fried thin pastry that serves as the outside. These were filled with pork, veggies, and more for balance in every bite. A look inside the Pork Lumpia The sauce that comes with it pairs wonderfully with the pork. It was slightly sweet with a nice kick of subtle heat from the chilis. This could be sharable, but we didn/’t want to share it! Be sure to dip it! We also tried the Chicken Lumpia for $14. They are also served 12 in a box with sweet chili sauce on the side. Don’t be fooled, from the outside they look just like the pork, but there is a difference! The chicken and the pork lumpia are side by side. In our opinion, the chicken isn’t as flavorful as the pork, but we still really enjoyed them. The chicken flavor is milder than the pork, with less savory seasoning. The chicken also seems to have more veggies in each bite, but that could also be that the vegetable flavor stands out more with the milder chicken. The sauce has the same sweet and spicy balance that made each bite a bit more dynamic and exciting. If you’re looking to try the snack but want something with more familiar flavors, this might be a good option for you! A look inside the chicken! Finally, we grabbed the Ube Lumpia for $13.50. This was the sweet option of the bunch, and it was quite a bit bigger than the savory ones. These come with a vanilla icing sauce. The Ube compared to the Chicken Lumpia For those unfamiliar, ube is a purple yam that is native to the Philippines and offers a sweet and almost nutty flavor. In our experience, Ube can be a difficult flavor to master because it can often times come across as artificial. Luckily, that was not the case with this dessert! This snack had a natural sweetness that we really appreciated, and the texture was a bit thicker. Inside the Ube! The sauce was a real standout here. It was similar to a thick vanilla pudding that paired beautifully with the crunchy lumpia. This was a big hit for us! How tasty! Honestly, you can’t go wrong with any of these items based on our experience, and they’re perfectly shareable for your entire group. Be warned, you might need to go back for more if you really love them! We can’t wait to see more changes as they come to Disneyland, but for now, you can find us over at BigBoi Lumpia. 6. A lot of people look at Dollywood and Disney World and say, “Yeah, they’re both theme parks, so what could be so different about them?” A LOT of things actually! Welcome to Dollywood! There are so many differences that if I were to sit here and name them all, we’d be here for a couple of hours. Some things Disney does better, and others Dollywood does better. Luckily, we’re only going to be focusing on ONE thing that Dollywood and Disney World do differently. And this time, it’s Dollywood that has the upper hand. Let’s talk room service — one resort has one and the other…not so much. The only places you’ll find room service on Disney World property are at Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and at the Swan & Dolphin Resort Complex: the Swan and Dolphin Hotels and the Swan Reserve. Grand Floridian Resort & Spa Guests staying at the Grand Floridian can order private dining options to their rooms for both breakfast and dinner. The breakfast menu is served from 7 AM to 12 PM, while the dinner menu is available from 5 PM until 11 PM. Guests can order items through the QR code located in their room. In-Room Dining at the Grand Floridian At the Swan, Dolphin, and Swan Reserve, meals can be ordered through their mobile app, and guests must be present to receive room service. The resorts offer a breakfast menu from 6 AM to 11 AM, a reserved lunch menu from 11 AM to 12 PM, and a dinner menu from 5 PM to 12 AM. Walt Disney World Dolphin Where Dollywood has the upper hand is that they offer room service at ALL of their resorts, which include the HeartSong Lodge & Resort and the DreamMore Resort & Spa. Guests have the ability to order from two menus — the breakfast menu… ©Dollywood …and the all-day dining menu. ©Dollywood If you want to order breakfast to your room while you’re there, you’ll get a little door hanger with all of the breakfast options that you can fill out the night before and hang on the outside of your door! You’ll be able to choose the items you want and the time you want them to be delivered in the morning. Dollywood Room Service Door Hanger Guests can order breakfast from 7 AM until 11 AM, and dinner from 11 AM until 11 PM. What we ordered! And did you happen to spot what we got? THAT’S RIGHT! For $13, you can get the famous Grist Mill Cinnamon Bread delivered fresh to your door for the perfect start to your Dollywood morning! You can also add a side of apple butter or extra icing for another $1.59. So yummy! So, since Disney World only offers room service at two resorts (and one isn’t even technically owned by Disney) and Dollywood offers room service at their signature resorts — with the beloved Cinnamon Bread, I might add — we think Dollywood wins this category! And stay tuned to DFB for more theme park news, updates, tips, and tricks from around the world! 8 Rules Every Disney Adult Will Break in Dollywood Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! 7. Downtown Disney is undergoing lots of changes, similar to the rest of Disneyland Resort, and there’s one restaurant we’re really looking forward to finally experiencing. Gordon Ramsay at The Carnaby Gordon Ramsay at The Carnaby is a new restaurant coming to Downtown Disney with an expected opening timeline of the latter half of 2026. The restaurant just revealed a first look at the interior of the restaurant on their social media, saying that the restaurant will bring “the vibrant spirit of London’s legendary Carnaby Street to @downtowndisney with elevated British fare, inventive cocktails, and an energetic dining experience.” Gordon Ramsay at The Carnaby, a British-themed restaurant, is coming to the Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, Calif. 8. We are all about food, but that shouldn’t come as a surprise since “Food” is literally our middle name! Now, we are obsessed with Disney World and Disneyland food, of course, but we have no problem leaving the parks to try out other restaurants, too. Delizia Al Limone at Simply Capri Well, a new restaurant is coming to the Orlando area soon, and it will sit right across from a restaurant that you should also consider leaving Disney World to check out. The new restaurant is Flatlands Bar & Grill, and it’s the latest creation from Nick Valenti, who also owns Simply Capri (right across the street…and we’ll talk about that in a sec). He’s also a partner in Vivoli il Gelato’s U.S. locations (yep, as in Vivoli il Gelato in Disney Springs). Flatlands Bar & Grill Both Flatlands Bar & Grill and Simply Capri are located at Flamingo Crossings, which is less than 10 minutes from Disney World. Flatlands will be serving up fresh fish, steaks, gelato, and “the best burger in Florida.” Much of the menu will be made with local ingredients, with many drinks sourced from Florida breweries. The restaurant’s concept comes from the flatlands of Florida, as well as the people who have immigrated there. Flatlands Bar and Grill The restaurant will feature a huge bar, as well as a comfortable outdoor seating area. Inside, the decor will feature murals based on Florida, including a heavy emphasis on orange groves and citrus. Murals inside Flatlands Bar and Grill Valenti wants the restaurant to be a place you can visit every day, but with an upscale feel. It’s going to be perfect for celebrations, of course, but it’s also going to be good for a random day of the week when you just don’t feel like cooking. Featured murals Flatlands Bar & Grill is across the street from another restaurant Valenti owns, Simply Capri, which opened in 2023. Simply Capri is more of a casual spot with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. We had a chance to visit the restaurant earlier this year, and let’s just say, we’ll be back. Simply Capri Some of the highlights of our meal at Simply Capri included Ossobucco Di Vetello and the Delizia Al Limone. But you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu there. Ossobucco Di Vetello So if you’re in Disney World and want to escape the chaos of the parks for lunch or dinner, consider a trip to Flamingo Crossings to check out either of these restaurants — your stomach will thank you! 12. If you’ve ever wondered what it would feel like to have shrunk to the size of a toy, Toy Story Hotel at Shanghai Disney Resort brings that adventure to life. Inspired by Disney and Pixar’s beloved Toy Story films, the hotel surrounds you with larger-than-life storytelling at every turn, from iconic character-inspired details and themed spaces to immersive experiences. And with Toy Story 5 now in theaters, there has never been a better time to join Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, and the rest of the gang at Toy Story Hotel! Step Into Andy’s Toy Box From the moment you arrive, it feels as though you have stepped straight into the world of a toy. Even before entering the hotel, the two hotel wings create an infinity-shaped silhouette from above as a tribute to Buzz Lightyear’s famous “To infinity and beyond!” to the iconic blue sky-and-cloud pattern that transforms the exterior. Passing through an entrance designed to resemble oversized toy packaging, you’ll discover building-block columns, game board-inspired flooring, whimsical furnishings, and character artwork that create the feeling of being part of Andy’s toy collection. Even the directional signs are styled to classic toys, while oversized Chinese kites featuring Toy Story characters add a special touch, blending Disney storytelling with Chinese artistry in a way that is uniquely Shanghai Disney Resort. Woody and Buzz Lightyear Courtyards The larger-than-life storytelling continues outside in two immersive courtyards inspired by Andy’s favorite toys. In Woody Courtyard, a towering statue of Woody riding Bullseye welcomes you into a landscape filled with colorful details, including a Pizza Planet rocket inhabited by the Aliens. Just across the hotel, Buzz Lightyear Courtyard invites you to report for duty with Star Command. Anchored by an oversized Buzz Lightyear figure, the space celebrates Buzz’s intergalactic adventures through futuristic design elements that transport you to infinity and beyond. Toy Story-Themed Rooms and Suites The playful storytelling does not stop when it is time to recharge. Each guest room is designed as an extension of Andy’s bedroom, surrounding you with bright colors, signature cloud wallpaper, character-inspired artwork, and imaginative details that celebrate the world of Toy Story. Look closely and you will spot nods to favorite characters, from Slinky Dog to the Aliens, woven throughout the decor. For those looking for an even more immersive stay, Buzz Lightyear rooms, Woody and Jessie rooms, and Toy Box family suites add themed details and extend the storytelling. Dining at Toy Story Hotel When it’s time to grab a bite to eat, Sunnyside Café offers a bright setting inspired by the daycare center from Toy Story 3. The menu features a mix of Chinese and Western favorites, making it an easy choice for families and groups with a variety of tastes. Just steps away, Sunnyside Market also offers convenient grab-and-go selections, from quick breakfasts before heading to the park to snacks and beverages to enjoy throughout the day. 13. One of the most convenient things that many Disney World restaurants offer is the Walk-Up Waitlist that lets you use the My Disney Experience app to get on a waitlist to get into a restaurant, even if you don’t have a reservation. In fact, sometimes it’s the best way to get into the popular spots! The Beak and Barrel! Well, two popular Disney World lounges that have been EXTREMELY hard to get reservations for have added the Walk-Up Waitlist option, so it just got easier to visit those lounges. YAY!! We were checking the My Disney Experience app today and noticed that when we looked at the Magic Kingdom map and selected The Beak and Barrel, the park’s Pirates of the Caribbean-themed lounge, it had a button that said: “Join the Walk-Up Waitlist.” Say what? It’s also listed as available on The Beak and Barrel page in the app. ©Disney We did click on the button, but we got an error message, so it doesn’t seem to be working just yet. ©Disney However, once we went back on the app, we got a full list of restaurants with the Walk-Up Waitlist, and it said: “Walk-up list is currently unavailable to join due to high demand.” INTERESTING. ©Disney Well, that’s not all. Over in EPCOT, the new Spaceship Earth-themed lounge there, GEO-82, was showing the same button to “Join the Walk-Up Waitlist.” When we checked it on the list, it also gave us the error, and when we tried to go back to the previous page on the app to view the list, we got the same message: “Walk-up list is currently unavailable to join due to high demand.” ©Disney So this feature might not QUITE be ready just yet, but it looks like it’s something that could be coming very soon. This will make getting into these lounges a lot easier for those who can’t manage to snag reservations. GEO-82 We’ll be keeping an eye out for more updates from Disney World, so stay tuned to DFB for more. 6 HUGE Disney World App Changes CONFIRMED Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! 14. We love going to Epic Universe in Universal Orlando. Where else can you race Mario, ride dragons, fight monsters, and battle wizards all in one day? But there’s one thing we love more than riding the rides – all of the food! Frosted Owl Sundae As soon as we saw this pop up on the menu, we had to run to Epic Universe and try it ASAP. Spoiler alert: this little guy is one of our new favorite frozen treats in the park! The Frosted Owl Sundae is $15.99 at Frosty Moon. This is chocolate-hazelnut and vanilla ice cream layered with marshmallow topping, graham crackers, and a toasted marshmallow, served in a souvenir owl cup. We’ve seen these online in a clear owl cup, but a team member told us that it comes in gold like this when the clear cups sell out. Frosted Owl Sundae The ice cream tastes exactly like a s’more. The soft serve is Nutella-flavored, so it’s chocolately and nutty, then the vanilla soft serve is mixed with marshmallow fluff to make it super sweet and creamy, and the crushed graham crackers add the taste with some crunch. Frosted Owl Sundae We saw the Frosted Owl Sundae all over our social media until we finally caved and tried it, and now we can say that it’s worth the viral hype. For $16, it tastes amazing, and the souvenir cup is an awesome bonus for the price. If you’re a s’mores fan, then this is the ice cream for you! If you want to try it yourself, head over to Frosty Moon in Celestial Park at Epic Universe. Frosty Moon If one treat isn’t enough to satisfy your sweet tooth, you’re in luck! Satellite Shakes just opened in Celestial Park and serves up even more delicious frozen treats. You know we immediately ordered the Captain Cacao’s Starlight Voyage, which is a chocolate shake layered with ganache, marshmallows, blackberry syrup, and praline crunch. Oh, and it’s topped with chocolate whipped topping, blue starlight ribbon, and Captain Cacao’s signature hat. Whew — it’s a lot, but it was tasty! Read our full review here. 15. When you work at Disney World, there are certain rules Cast Members have to follow, and some of them may be very surprising. Disney World Cast Member Some of the rules are obvious — you can’t be on your phone while you’re on stage (unless it’s an emergency, of course), you have to be dressed nicely, you have to be respectful to the people around you, etc. But some things are a little less clear, specifically regarding the shoes you have to wear. Here are the harsh shoe rules Disney World Cast Members must follow. Instead of boring uniforms, Disney World employees — better known as Cast Members — wear costumes. Not only are they working at the theme parks and resorts, but they are a part of it, making magic for the visiting guests. Magic Kingdom Cast Member And when it comes to the costumes, there are two categories of Cast Members — Costumed and Non-Costumed Cast Members. Costumed Cast Members are those whom guests will typically see. Those Cast Members are the ones given a specific costume to wear “on-stage,” AKA anywhere guests have access to be in Disney World. These costumes may be specific to a certain land, show, attraction, role, etc. Custodial Cast Member Non-Costumed Cast Members are those who are typically behind the scenes and cannot traditionally be seen by the regular guests. These costumes may include chefs, behind-the-scenes entertainment Cast Members, etc. Magic Kingdom Cast Member When it comes to the footwear Cast Members wear, Disney has specific rules each person must follow, Costumed or Non-Costumed. This is known as “Disney Look.” That means being the most presentable and well-put-together you can. Every role and location can differ, but Cast Members can check with the Costuming Module in The Hub (Disney’s online resource for company employees) or with their leader to ensure proper style and color. Main Street Bakery Cast Members For Costumed Cast Members, these are a few rules that must be followed: Shoes must be kept clean and in good condition at all times Dress shoes must be solid in color “with minimal contrasting logos or markings and made of a polishable material” Athletic shoes must be solid in color with minimal contrasting logos It’s recommended that shoes be slip-resistant Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Cast Members For Non-Costumed Cast Members, their rules are as follows: Shoes or boots must be appropriate for your business/unit location Sandals are not permitted Dress shoes are permitted to “have contrast soles, an open toe, open heel and/or sling back” Magic Kingdom Cast Member However, one of our team members who worked in food and beverage at Disney World said something different than one of the rules above. She said that even though it’s only recommended, most Cast Members — specifically the ones working in food and beverage — actually NEED to have slip-resistant shoes. We love Cast Members! There are a few ways to get shoes that are approved, through Disney itself or by being REALLY careful when purchasing your own. Our team member opted to get them through Disney because she just thought it was easier, especially when you are working in a location that needs to be “in story.” EPCOT Cast Member There are also specific rules for specific costumes. For example, if you have to wear black shoes, you MUST wear black socks, and those socks can’t be too tall! Not only could you get in trouble for wearing the wrong shoes, but you could also get in trouble for wearing the wrong socks! Magic Kingdom Cast Members Cast Members have A LOT of rules they have to follow, and it’s all to make magic for you! So, the next time you pass a Cast Member, be sure to thank them and tell them that they’re doing a great job! And stay tuned to DFB for more Disney news like this! 17. We go to Disney World every day. Yep, we’re living the dream. A lot of what we do, though, is search for new things, stuff we haven’t seen on previous days. That’s how we keep you updated on everything, after all. Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom So what kind of things are we looking for? Well, we’re always on the lookout for new merchandise (so you can be on the lookout for those perfect souvenir finds for your next visit), but we also keep an eye on construction and other updates in the parks and at the hotels. Most recently, we visited seven Disney World parks and hotels, and we have a ton of new things to share with you as a result. So let’s get started! EPCOT We made our way around EPCOT, stopping in what may be one of our favorite gift shops in the parks, Creations Shop. For those of you who are all about the ears (okay, it’s us, too), we found some very pretty Happy Birthday Ears. Look at how sparkly they are! Birthday Ears Well, sparkly must be the trend right now, because we spotted another pair of Iridescent Sequin Ears that could plus up any outfit. You can also snag these online right now! So sparkly We also spent some time visiting EPCOT bathrooms, because we literally DO go everywhere when we visit Disney World, and that includes the bathrooms. So we’ve been spotting the Aunt Flow free feminine hygiene product machines throughout EPCOT, including in the American Adventure Pavilion bathrooms, the Morocco bathrooms, and more. Actually, we’re starting to see these throughout Disney World now, although some of the new machines haven’t been filled yet. They’re free How about collecting some pins from around the WORLD? Well, you can grab some World Showcase Country Pins at World Traveler, which will make you look like, well, like a world traveler! New pins! Gotta’ love a place that lets you shop, eat, and drink around the world. Disney’s Animal Kingdom We made our way over to Jumping Junction at Bluey’s Wild World at Conservation Station to check up on the kangaroos. This area isn’t completely open yet for visitors because the kangaroos need time to adjust to being around people. Look at these sweet babies! However, we noticed that Cast Members were starting to take slightly bigger groups through the experience to see these little guys, so it’s only a matter of time. They’ll be growing up and getting braver every day. Magic Kingdom Over at Curtain Call, two new medieval princess hats have arrived, including a Daisy Princess Hat… Daisy Princess Hat …and a Rapunzel Princess Hat. These are so much fun, and they’re the perfect thing to wear to Fantasyland! Rapunzel Princess Hat However, we also spotted some new hats that have us questioning some things. So here’s a Daisy Hat. And as you can see, it’s got a big Daisy head that sits on YOUR head. Fine, right? Daisy Hat There’s even a Donald Hat, too. And again, it seems okay… Donald Hat But then things get weird because the hats are made so that there are tiny little Donald and Daisy bodies hanging from the back. Um…Disney, are you okay? Do you need an intervention? Um…what’s going on here? Okay, let’s not talk about that anymore. Anyway, we also spotted a new pressed penny machine in the shop! New Pressed Penny Machine So you now have even more new pressed pennies to collect in Magic Kingdom! Disney’s BoardWalk Inn The ex-Big River Grill and Brewing Works location now has more construction walls up around it. What’s going on here? The old Jellyrolls had a truck moving stuff in and out of the building, but we didn’t see any sign of furniture. Mostly, we just saw wood planks. The old Jellyrolls building However, insulation has been installed in the wall. This location is set to become a new lounge called Hurly Burly. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort We don’t know what’s happening over at Kona Island, but macarons have been replaced with macaroons. We’re not sure why, and it doesn’t seem like there was a demand for coconut macaroons, but here we are. They are a little easier to bake, though, so maybe that’s it. Macaroons There’s also a cupcake available to celebrate the live-action Moana movie. It’s the Pua Aloalo, which is a vanilla cupcake with hibiscus-lychee mousse for $6.79. Sounds interesting! New cupcake! Whew…we see a lot just in one day when we’re visiting Disney World, but now you have an idea of just how busy our days can be, on top of reporting all the latest news Disney drops throughout the day. We’ll continue to keep you updated on all things Disney, so stay tuned to DFB for more. 18. We’re big on collecting things, especially Disney merchandise. Sometimes it’s pins; other times it’s plushes, but in this case? Yep, we’re about to collect a BUNCH of Funko POPs, and we can’t wait. ©Amazon There’s an incredible new Disney Funko POP collection online that we’re obsessed with. Not because of the characters themselves, though we do love that the collection focuses on the Disney Villains and matching heroes, but because of the beautiful decorative stained glass behind each one! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Mirror Mirror On The Wall! ©Amazon If you have a soft spot in your heart for the very first Disney feature film, then you’ll love the Evil Queen Stained Glass Window Funko POP. She’s all decked out in her royal attire, and she’s got her sidekick raven right beside her. The stained glass behind her features Snow White and her birds, which is such a fantastic contrast. Grab it on Amazon! We Can’t Forget Snow! ©Amazon If you want to complete the set, you can pick up the Snow White Stained Glass Window Funko POP, which is the reverse of the above. Snow White stands with her rabbit friend in front of a stained glass window featuring the Evil Queen, complete with her poison apple. It’s gorgeous! Grab it on Amazon! With One Prick of A Finger… ©Amazon Keeping with the protagonist theme, you can also grab the Sleeping Beauty Stained Glass Window Funko POP. Behind her, the stained glass has Maleficent high above her, looking like she’s watching over Sleeping Beauty in the woods. It’s creepy and spooky in the best way! Grab it on Amazon! Every Story Has A Villain ©Amazon Maleficent is widely viewed as one of the most terrifying Disney Villains of all time, and even in Funko POP form, we can see why! The Maleficent Stained Glass Window Funko POP shows her in all her glory, including her black and purple wardrobe, and the way the stained glass behind her really enhances the terror she invokes. Sleeping Beauty watches from above, having no idea what danger is coming her way! Grab it on Amazon! The Queen of The Sea ©Amazon It’s not a Villains collection if we don’t have Ursula, and the Ursula Stained Glass Window Funko POP may be one of our favorites! She stands in front of her cauldron, ready to cast a spell, and holds a potion bottle in one of her hands. The stained glass behind her also features Flotsam and Jetsam, which we think is a fun addition. Grab it on Amazon! Aaaand The Princess of The Sea! ©Amazon We absolutely love the Ariel Stained Glass Window Funko POP, because of how different and colorful she is compared to Ursula! Ariel sits on the pink rock as she watches the world above. Some of her underwater friends swim on the bottom of the stained glass behind her, while Ursula takes over the top. Grab it on Amazon! We’ll continue to keep you updated on all the latest Disney merchandise news, so stay tuned to DFB! View the full article

Service from TPA to DTX will begin on November 19th, and service from TPA to USA will begin on November 20th. ©Avelo Airlines DTX is located near Dallas and its northern suburbs, making this airport a great option for Tampa residents to fly into with fewer crowds and commotion. The Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) is a whopping 17,000 acres, while DTX is just about 7,000. ©McKinney National Airport Meanwhile, USA is just minutes from the Charlotte metropolitan area and Charlotte Motor Speedway. It’s a great alternative for Tampa residents to fly into if they want to escape the holiday crowds since Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) is nearly 4,000 acres larger than USA. ©Concord-Padgett Regional Airport Avelo Airlines is continuing to expand its routes within TPA — offering affordable and convenient travel options to airports both large and small. The airline has been flying at TPA since late 2021 and currently offers flights to three destinations — New Haven, CT, Wilmington, DE, and Wilmington, NC, with the addition of these two cities later this year. ©Avelo Airlines So, if you’re looking for a more affordable solution to your travels this holiday season, this is a great alternative to the larger airports. 22. Efteling, one of Europe’s most popular theme parks — and one of our favorites — just announced another NEW attraction. ©Efteling Get ready to go on an exciting journey of light, speed, and adventure in Missie Luminar, Efteling’s first suspended launch coaster. Are you ready for the mission of the century? The new coaster is set to debut in 2029, and we’ve got all the details! Missie Luminar will be the first suspended launch coaster at Efteling, where the vehicles hang below the track and are launched on takeoff. Riders will become “missionauts,” who start their expedition in a scientific institute. Here, riders will get instructions about the mission before boarding their vehicles with 17 other missionauts. ©Efteling The real adventure starts with a spectacular launch. The intense ride will last more than two minutes and will be full of speed, surprising elements, and several moments of weightlessness. Will you manage to reach the ultimate goal and break the light barrier? Around the attraction, you’ll be able to “feel the atmosphere of wondrous natural phenomena, experiments, and 19th-century journeys of discovery.” Efteling Missie Luminar’s top speed will reach up to 80 kmh (around 50 mph), but Efteling CEO Fons Jurgens says it might even feel faster to riders. He continued, “It’s going to be unique and special, also because of the location. Missie Luminar is an addition to the theme area, The Island of the Five Senses. Visitors will see the speeding vehicles as soon as they enter to start their day at Efteling. We’ll need to be patient a bit longer, but we’re already looking forward to the first reactions from our visitors.” Joris en de Draak at Efteling This isn’t the only new attraction coming to Efteling, either! Earlier this year, the park confirmed major changes were coming to the Raveleijn area of the park, which they said would be “completely transformed with a new storyline, decor and impressive show effects,” including a new open-air “rotating flying experience” attraction. ©Efteling Ravenring will be a horizontally rotating wheel in which 36 visitors per ride will take their seats in one of the 18 winged vehicles, inspired by the ravens of Raveleijn. The ride’s storyline revolves around recruiting “new heroes” to continue protecting the city of Raveleijn in the future by taking part in a “flying ritual reserved only for true heroes.” After their flight, guests will discover which of the five magical elements suits them best: blue for water, red for fire, green for wood, brown for earth, and purple for metal. We’ll be on the lookout for even more Efteling updates you need to know about and beyond. In the meantime, make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest theme park news and more! The newest Pixar film made $300m globally in just its opening weekend, making it the largest opening the franchise has ever seen, and the second biggest opening this year globally. ©Disney As of July 9th, it’s made around $764 million globally, and it’s on track to crush the $1 billion mark. 24. With the release of Moana 2 in 2024 and the live-action Moana this week, it’s no surprise that we received news of another movie in this franchise in the works. ©Disney At a recent press conference, Dwayne Johnson — who plays Maui in both the animated and live-action films — teased the addition of a third Moana film, and we’re here to tell you everything we know! At a promotional event in Brazil for the live-action Moana, Dwayne Johnson confirmed that a third movie for the franchise is in the making. In a recent article published by Variety, Johnson was quoted as saying, “Yes, we have talked about Moana 3, yes. But first, live-action Moana, we’ll let that come out first. We have [the] amazing Jared Bush and Dana Ledoux Miller, who have been our writers…they will pen Moana 3.” ©D23 — Auli’i Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson at D23 in 2024 Johnson and Auli’i Cravalho are expected to return to their roles as Maui and Moana, respectively. The plot details have yet to be revealed for the third film [SPOILER ALERT FOR MOANA 2 AHEAD]… ©Disney …but we can guess that it will follow Moana’s journey as a demigod after her restoration turned transition at the end of Moana 2. The songwriter for the third film is also unclear at this point — Lin-Manuel Miranda wrote several hit songs for the first film, but didn’t return for the second, passing the songwriting duties to Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear. ©Disney We’re excited to see what’s to come from this new film, but in the meantime, head to your local theatre starting July 10th to return to the fictional island of Motunui for Disney’s live-action remake of the original film! 25. Is LEGOLAND Florida worth adding to your family’s vacation plans? Let’s take a look! LEGOLAND We know that vacationing at Disney World is a tried-and-true tradition for tons of families out there. But if you’re normally a “Disney World family,” could switching things up with a visit to LEGOLAND be worth it for you? Here’s what we learned on our recent visit to the park! Let’s be real, vacation time and budget are precious, and we know just how much pressure there can be to create a great experience for your family. With that in mind, it often feels tough to switch things up, especially when there’s a vacation destination you know your family loves! Which is one reason why so many people keep coming back to Disney World again and again (it’s us, we’re people). If you’re a “Disney family” wondering whether you should take the plunge and visit LEGOLAND the next time you’re in the Orlando area, here are some things to consider! LEGO animatronic First, there’s no universally “right” answer as to where you should vacation — the answer to that question will come down to what your family’s top priorities are, and what options best fit your preferences and budget! The Galacticoaster One of the most important things to consider when deciding which theme parks to work into your itinerary is the ages of the children you’re traveling with and the types of attractions they’ll enjoy. LEGOLAND was designed specifically for families with children ages 2-12, with more than 50 rides, shows & attractions to experience around the resort. If your kiddos are on the younger side and are too small for lots of the rides at the other parks, LEGOLAND could be a great alternative with plenty of things to do just for them! Ceremony of the Ninja It’s also one of the most affordable parks in the area, with LEGOLAND tickets starting from $69 per person per day. Plus, in addition to LEGOLAND theme park and water park tickets, they also offer tickets that come with admission to several other experiences in the area, including the Peppa Pig Theme Park, which is just a 5-minute walk from the LEGOLAND park! Between the LEGOLAND theme park, LEGOLAND water park, the Peppa Pig Theme Park, and the Sea Life Florida Aquarium, families can easily spend multiple days at the resort without repeating experiences. Welcome to Peppa Pig Theme Park Speaking of that short walk to the Peppa Pig Theme Park, LEGOLAND was designed to be easily walkable and require minimal transportation. They offer three on-site hotels with family-friendly amenities so you can be within walking distance of all of the attractions during your stay. Shipwreck Restaurant at Pirate Island Hotel There are also seasonal events and entertainment for popular holidays like Halloween and Christmas. Plus, since LEGOLAND was designed to meet the needs of families with younger kids, the park’s Halloween “Brick-or-Treat” event is one of the less-spooky seasonal entertainment options around the area. LEGOLAND Florida Again, only you can answer the question of “is it worth a visit” based on YOUR family’s priorities and preferences! But if you’re traveling with young children and are looking for a resort with multiple parks and attractions designed for them to enjoy, all within walking distance, LEGOLAND might be right up your alley! 27. If you’re heading to Disney World in the summertime, we’ve got to WARN you. Magic Kingdom The weather in Florida in the summertime can be incredibly brutal. With intense UV indexes and high levels of humidity, plus frequent rainstorms, you’re in for a wild and sweaty ride. And this week, Disney World is under a heat advisory. Fox 35 reports that the Saharan Dust has arrived in the Central Florida area, lowering the air quality and decreasing the amount of moisture in the air. With the dust, the chances of afternoon storms will decrease, which means there are fewer opportunities to cool of that hot sun. Stormy day in EPCOT Temperature highs will be in the upper 90s, but the “feels like” temperatures will be reaching near 110ºF. The temperatures will be about 5ºF above the average high and the average low for this time of year. Because of this, heat advisories are in place for most of the Central Florida region. Disney’s Hollywood Studios So if you’re heading to Disney World soon, there are a few things to keep in mind. Most important of all is that you need to HYDRATE! Bring a refillable water bottle and get ice water for free at spots around the parks that have beverage fountains. Also, make sure you wear your sunscreen because the UV index is intense. Water Bottle Refill Station Take plenty of breaks by going indoors in the air conditioning — maybe sit down at a theater show or do a restaurant reservation. If you have small children, make sure you have a stroller fan to keep them cool, and be on the lookout for signs of heat illness with anyone in your party. A necessity!
