Nothing says rise and shine like these unhinged “breakfasts” we’ve had in Disney World! Cake Bake Shop Cake Slice As Disney World food reporters, we’ve done some wild things in the name of research. That includes SERIOUSLY stretching the concept of what counts as an acceptable breakfast food! Whether we’re “rope dropping” a brand new snack or just trying to fuel up fast, these are some of the most chaotic things we’ve eaten in Disney World before most people have even finished their first cup of coffee! 6-layer Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake from Summer House on the Lake Located on the West Side of Disney Springs, Summer House on the Lake offers tons of California-inspired bites, from pizza and pasta to fresh salads and sandwiches. Plus, if you’re getting your day started early, you can also snag Grab-and-Go Breakfast items here starting at 9:00 AM. Summer House on the Lake Speaking of breakfast, we snagged this MASSIVE 6-Layer Chocolate Cookie Cake from Summer House on the Lake bright and early on a recent visit! This decadent dessert (slash breakfast?) is made with stacks on stacks of chocolate chip cake, whipped cookie dough, and frosting, served with a salted caramel sauce and topped with cookie dough pieces. 6 Layer Cake! We really enjoyed this cake, and even though it felt a little odd to start our day with such a rich treat, is it really that much different than a stack of loaded pancakes or a giant donut? At least, that’s how we’re justifying it! New Cake Flavors from The Cake Bake Shop While we’re on the subject of early morning cake, we HAVE to talk about The Cake Bake Shop! This spot on Disney World’s BoardWalk serves up breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a gorgeous setting, plus, as the name suggests, offers plenty of delicious bakery items. Cake Bake Shop The Cake Bake Shop often drops new flavors available by the slice, and we’ve been known to swing by first thing in the morning and grab them. We’ve tried tons of new flavors recently, like the S’mores Cake, Boston Cream Pie Cake, and Cotton Candy Cake, to name a few! Slice of Cotton Candy Cake Hey, if it’s wrong to start our day sampling a decadent new cake slice, then we don’t want to be right! Seasonal Cupcakes We think one of the BEST ways to celebrate any special occasion is with a delicious snack. Luckily for us, Disney tends to agree! Disney World often releases limited-edition cupcakes inspired by holidays, movie releases, or seasonal flavors. Spiced Pumpkin Cupcake Of course, we want to report back to you ASAP with our thoughts on the newest Disney World snacks, and that often means we’re snagging the latest seasonal cupcakes first thing in the morning. Your Chosen Path Cupcake We’ll happily start our day with a brand new cupcake in the name of research! Turkey Leg Our wildest “breakfast” choices aren’t all sweet treats; we’ve definitely snuck some savory ones in there too! That brings us to the controversial classic Disney World snack, the Turkey Leg. Turkey Legs are divisive even among our team members, but we can’t deny that it checks all the boxes for anyone looking for a sharable, protein-heavy snack to start the day! Turkey Leg You can find Turkey Legs at several spots around Magic Kingdom and at EPCOT’s Fife & Drum. The only question is, are YOU bold enough to start your day with this massive hunk of meat?? Cocktails and Boozy Beverages Whether we’re at a sit-down breakfast somewhere like Chef Mickey’s or starting our EPCOT festival day with a boozy Joffrey’s coffee first thing in the morning, sometimes our reviews have us greeting the day with a fun cocktail in hand! Joffrey’s Boozy Cold Brew Even though we might not normally opt for a boozy beverage right off the bat, sometimes our plans take us in another direction. Hey, we’ve gotta make sure we can report back with a full review, cocktails and all! Breakfast of champions, indeed! We’ll continue to report back with reviews of all the newest menu items we’ve tried around Disney World (both in the AM and PM), so stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for the latest updates. Disney Deluxe resorts come with a plethora of perks — close proximity to the parks, signature dining locations, Extended Evening Hours… You name it, they’ve probably got it! Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa opened in 1988, and it’s been an extremely popular hotel from the beginning thanks to its style of Victorian-era elegance mixed with modern luxury, close proximity to the Magic Kingdom, and delicious restaurants. However, it is still missing one perk. A great perk if you’re staying at a Disney World resort is grabbing a resort refillable mug. These 16oz. insulated coffee mugs are sold at each resort’s food court or quick-service location and offer free refills of fountain drinks, coffee, and tea from self-service beverage locations throughout your trip. Disney World Resort Refillable Mug Some of the resorts even have a Coca-Cola Freestyle Machine, offering a slew of drinks and flavor options. And this is where the Grand Floridian is MISSING a perk — its own specialty drink flavor! Over at the Island Tower near the outside of Wailulu Bar & Grill, guests can find a Freestyle machine with all different kinds of beverage options, including the hotel’s exclusive flavor, Island Time Fizz! Coke Freestyle Machines at Primo Piatto The Island Time Fizz is an exclusive Sprite-based flavor that gave us “POG” vibes. The flavors reminded us of that iconic passionfruit, orange, and guava mix with a hint of lemon and lime from the Sprite. It’s available in both full-sugar and zero-sugar versions. And you don’t need to have a refillable mug to get it! Guests can buy a paper cup from Wailulu Bar & Grill for a little over $6 and fill it up! Island Time Fizz Which leads us to the question: Why doesn’t Grand Floridian have an exclusive flavor? The resort’s quick service location — Gasparilla Island Grill — has a Coca-Cola Freestyle machine, after all! The Grand Floridian has an opportunity to make its quick-service location greater than it already is! Coke Freestyle Machines at Gasparilla Island Grill When we asked our team what exclusive flavor they’d like to see, a VERY popular answer was something similar to the Citrus Swirl that used to be found at Sunshine Tree Terrace in Magic Kingdom. The soda could have notes of orange and vanilla, which fits the theme of a Florida tribute because, you know…oranges! Citrus Swirl Another team member mentioned a macaroni and cheese flavored soda. You may be thinking ‘GROSS!’ but there’s actually a reason for this one. Gasparilla Island Grill’s mac and cheese is VERY famous, and some even deem it to be the best mac and cheese on Disney World property! So, the idea of a Gasparilla mac and cheese flavor soda as their exclusive flavor actually isn’t too far-fetched. Gasparilla Mac and Cheese So, even though Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort is a Deluxe resort with a lot of perks and amenities, it is STILL missing one perk we think everyone would love! Whenever a new nighttime spectacular debuts, we’re always looking for the new ways that Disney uses tech in these shows. We’ve been wondering about drone shows at Disney World for a while now, after they were used in Disney Springs for Disney Dreams That Soar and never seen again. Disney Dreams That Soar drone show If you’re hoping Disney brings back more drone shows, this patent will get you excited. Disney is expanding on its current drone technology to make drone shows even more themed and cohesive! The patent is for a themed aerial vehicle entertainment system or platform, AKA a bunch of cool-looking drones, to generate shows or displays by using dynamically coordinated show systems. Instead of using a fixed flight plan, the new entertainment platform is configured with one or more UAVs enclosed in thematic cladding, such as the outer shell of a spacecraft or a flying character, and the show is dynamically coordinated for a cohesive performance. ©Disney These drones feature one or more onboard show effect devices, a memory storing multiple alternate show scripts, and a controller that compares the drone’s real-time position and timing to a flight plan and picks a script based on that comparison. If wind or launch delays affect a drone show, the drones are equipped with backup plans to keep everything cohesive! UP house! Disney hasn’t announced whether a new drone show will be coming to the parks with this technology. Only two drone shows are currently running in Disney parks: Momentous at Hong Kong Disneyland and Disney Tales of Magic at Disneyland Paris. Disney will likely upgrade these drones before implementing a brand-new drone show. Momentous at Hong Kong Disneyland We’ll be sure to keep you updated on more Disney patents as they’re released. The new Frozen 3 trailer has been on our minds since we first saw it a few weeks ago, and you can BET we’ve watched it more times than we can count. ©Disney We got a look at the new film at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event this year, and the trailer hasn’t left our minds since. There’s a lot to unpack in this new trailer, and we made sure we watched it a few times to get all the details. Did you catch these ten Easter eggs? If you didn’t, no worries, we’ll help you out! We had one of our team members watch the trailer a few times in a row, and she caught MULTIPLE Easter eggs that we think give a lot away about the upcoming film. We’ll warn you now: if you haven’t seen the trailer yet, there are spoilers ahead! ©Disney Right at the start of the trailer, there’s some advanced, controlled ice magic going on that ISN’T coming from Elsa. Does that mean that there are others out there with the same powers? That theory is confirmed later in the trailer, and it made us wonder if it’s possible this other person with ice powers could potentially be related to Anna and Elsa, like an estranged aunt situation? It’s possible then that that’s why Anna and Elsa’s parents were so concerned about hiding Elsa’s powers, because maybe they’d seen it firsthand before! We also noticed that Wandering Oaken was invited to Anna and Kristoff’s wedding, which we think is adorable. Something that shocked us right after was the fact that it looks like Elsa is wearing PINK to Anna’s wedding, instead of her traditional blue! Though we do know Elsa will go back to wearing her blue based on the costumes we saw at D23. ‘Frozen 3’ Outfits! Something really small we noticed was that Anna’s wedding dress almost has a similar pattern to her door back at the castle when she was growing up. Intentional, Disney? We also noticed that when the northern lights-style icy portal showed up, the gang didn’t seem too shocked. Is this something that the crew was expecting, or are they just used to this stuff by this point? We’ll have to wait and see! We also thought it was really interesting that Anna was even thinking about tripping over her dress — that’s something that the Anna from the first Frozen would NEVER have worried about. She would have just run…and then tripped. ©Disney Disney also gives us a look at a whole icy WORLD in the trailer, and we wondered if this is Disney testing the market for possible additional park expansions! We couldn’t help but notice, too, that the purple lighting in the trailer immediately gave us a villain feel. Has Disney conditioned us? Probably, but we’re not complaining. When we do get a look at the villain, or the back of her, we also noticed that the back of the villain’s hair SO looks like Iduna’s, Anna and Elsa’s mom. That supports our theory even more that this has GOT to be another sister-sister situation. ©Walt Disney Studios Frozen 3 releases in theatres on November 24th, 2027, so while we’ve still got a long time to wait, we’ll be looking forward to it regardless. We’re grabbing our sketch pads and pencils and heading straight to Hollywood Studios because The Magic of Disney Animation is almost open! Walt Disney Studios — Animation Building This new area of Walt Disney Studios has so much fun happening, including drawing classes with Olaf, tons of meet-and-greets, a new indoor (and air-conditioned!) playground, and just overall animation fun. With all the new experiences officially opening to the public on September 14th, something else is also coming to Hollywood Studios — a brand-new virtual queue system for the attraction! We spoke with a Cast Member who confirmed that a virtual queue will be in place, specifically for busier days, and we’ll probably see it on the attraction’s official opening day. The virtual queue also won’t be through the My Disney Experience app. You’ll give your phone number to a Cast Member in The Magic of Disney Animation, and you’ll receive a text when you can enter. Dale That means your morning will require a little extra planning before you head over to experience the attraction. The standby queue will not be available, so you won’t be able to physically wait in line. Even with the virtual queue, you typically have to wait a bit before it’s your turn, so don’t expect to avoid all the lines. Mulan and Little Brother We see virtual queues for almost every Disney World opening since they help manage long lines for the most popular attractions (aka brand-new attractions!). Bluey’s Wild World, which opened in Animal Kingdom earlier this year, used a virtual queue but stopped shortly after, and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets used it for Annual Passholder previews. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets Recently, Disney has been adding virtual queues for only a few days or in select situations, rather than for months or years like they did for TRON Lightcycle / Run and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT, and Rise of the Resistance in Hollywood Studios. TRON Lightcycle / Run Virtual queues are a bit controversial amongst guests. Some don’t find it difficult to join queues and feel it helps manage lines and wait times, but others think it adds unnecessary complication and would prefer waiting in the standby queue for hours at a time. ©Disney Either way, a virtual queue is back at Disney World, and if you want to experience the full Magic of Disney Animation, you’ll want to make sure you know how it works and how to join. While you’ll normally find us in Disney World and Disneyland, we’re also big fans of checking out other nearby theme parks (as well as international theme parks when we find ourselves in the area). Welcome to Dollywood! Recently, we’ve been taking more trips to Dollywood, and let’s just say that we understand COMPLETELY how people choose this park over Disney World or Disneyland year after year. We didn’t think it was possible, but we’re already thinking about when we can plan our next trip. If you’ve got a trip in the works but don’t know where to start when it comes to planning, we’ve got you covered! Dollywood is located in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, meaning it’s right in the middle of a massive tourist town. There’s plenty to do around the area, but Dollywood remains one of, if not the most, popular spots to experience while you’re in the area. The park just debuted their newest attraction, Nightflight Expedition, and it’s been a massive hit with guests, but there’s plenty more rides where that came from. NightFlight Expedition The dining here is also next level. You’ve likely heard of the Cinnamon Bread, but believe us when we say it’s absolutely worth the hype, and you’ll likely find yourself buying way more than you expected. We certainly found that we couldn’t get enough, but there are also lots of other dining options and snacks that we found ourselves really loving. CINNAMON BREAD! There’s also The Dolly Parton Experience that’s an absolute must-do while you’re there, and always has been. However, it hits especially hard now since Dolly Parton sadly passed away earlier this year. Dollywood has already announced additional plans to honor her legacy, and we’re looking forward to visiting again to experience all there is to offer. The Dolly Parton Experience We know, we know, that’s a LOT to take in, but that’s why we’re here to help! We’ve put together a new guide for you that will help you make sure you plan the perfect trip without missing anything you may want to experience while you’re in the park. We go over what snacks are worth the price, what rides are worth long lines, and when you may want to go so you miss the intense crowds that certain parts of the year see. The best part? It’s totally FREE! And yes, we mean that. It doesn’t cost you a single cent — it’s more than worth it to us if you find that it helps you with an upcoming trip and you leave feeling accomplished and happy. Even if you don’t have a trip immediately planned, snag it now to start studying! That way, you’re a pro by the time the trip comes around. Big Bear Mountain We’ll continue to keep you updated on all the latest Dollywood AND Disney news to help you with your upcoming trips, so stay tuned to DFB! 13 Things at Dollywood That Aren’t Rides, But Should Be On Your List Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! Disney World is technically a judgment-free zone. Wear your matching family shirts. Put seven trading pins on your hat. Carry the popcorn bucket that requires its own seat on the Skyliner. Live your truth. Magic Kingdom But when we asked our team what they quietly judge people for bringing to Disney World, there was one VERY clear category: impractical shoes. And within that category, two particular offenders kept coming up. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Flip Flops Look, we understand the flip-flop argument. It’s Florida. It’s hot. They’re easy. If it rains, you don’t have to spend the next six hours wondering whether your sneakers will ever know dryness again. But Disney World is also a place where you can casually walk 20,000 steps while insisting you “didn’t really do that much today.” ©Amazon A flimsy pair of flip-flops may feel perfectly fine walking from your hotel room to the pool. Magic Kingdom to EPCOT to dinner to “let’s just pop into one more shop” is a different assignment entirely. And nothing ruins the evening quite like realizing your feet resigned three hours ago and neglected to tell you. Instead of sacrificing your feet, we suggest you grab these supportive sandals! The key word here is supportive. These comfy sandals give you a warm-weather option without relying on a paper-thin piece of foam and optimism to carry you around EPCOT. ©Amazon They’re a particularly good compromise if you want something cooler and more open than a sneaker but still plan on spending a full day in the parks. view ON AMAZON High Heels We respect the commitment to your fashion. Truly. But when we see someone crossing EPCOT in a pair of towering heels, our first thought is usually, “How?” Our second is, “HOW?” Hey there, Daisy! Disney pavement does not care how great those shoes looked with the outfit back in the hotel room. Between uneven surfaces, long attraction queues, standing around waiting for transportation, and the sheer acreage involved in a Disney day, heels can turn into an extremely glamorous form of self-sabotage. There are plenty of ways to look cute at Disney World without sacrificing your feet for fashion. And since criticizing without providing solutions is just rude, we have some alternatives. This recommendation comes with a six-year backlog of proof. ©Amazon One member of our team has bought a new pair of these shoes whenever she needs replacements for the past five or six years. Not tried once. Not “these were pretty good on one trip.” Five or six YEARS. They’re her favorites, and when you find a shoe that reliably gets you through Disney World days without your feet waving a white flag in surrender, you tend to become loyal. If you’re looking for a new park shoe, this is the kind of endorsement we pay attention to. view ON AMAZON We love Brooks There’s a reason you’ll see plenty of serious walking and running shoes wandering around Disney World. You are doing some serious walking. These Brooks are another option for anyone who wants to prioritize comfort and support over discovering exactly how many blisters one human foot can produce. ©Amazon And yes, we know sneakers take up more suitcase space than flip-flops. Your feet do not care about your packing efficiency. view ON AMAZON Your Feet Have to Make It to Day Four We’re not saying you can’t wear flip-flops or heels to Disney World. Some people can conquer an entire park day in shoes that would have us calling for medical transport somewhere around the Germany pavilion. We have questions, but also respect. Brooks Ghost 17 For the rest of us, comfortable and supportive shoes are among the least exciting Disney purchases, yet they can have the BIGGEST impact on a trip. Because your park outfit may be adorable, but there is nothing particularly magical about hobbling back to your hotel room at the end of the night. Choose wisely. Recently, we got a chance to get a good look inside The Magic of Disney Animation, the last part of the big Animation Courtyard overhaul in Disney’s Hollywood Studios to convert the space into The Walt Disney Studios. We got to see everything happening inside the building, including Olaf Draws!, the Drawn to Wonderland playground, the new store, and so much more. The Magic of Disney Animation Now, The Magic of Disney Animation wasn’t set to open until September 14th, but we visited it today, and guess what? The attraction has soft-opened! Yes, it’s opened early! When we visited Hollywood Studios today, we noticed that The Magic of Disney Animation was open to visitors. The doors have been thrown open, and visitors were making their way inside. It’s open! Now, we were wondering about crowds and how Disney has planned for them, so we spoke with a Cast Member who confirmed that there will be a virtual queue in place, specifically for busier days. This wasn’t in use today, but we’ll probably see it on the attraction’s official opening day. The virtual queue is also not going to be through the My Disney Experience app. It will be where you’ll give your phone number to a Cast Member, and you’ll receive a text when you can enter. A peek inside The Magic of Disney Animation is sort of like many attractions in one. First, you’ve got Olaf Draws!, where an animatronic Olaf, with the help of a video of a Disney animator, teaches you how to draw an iconic Disney character. Olaf is drawing with us! In “Off The Page,” you can meet up with some of your favorite characters in different settings inspired by animation studio departments. Chip ‘n’ Dale The Drawn to Wonderland playground is an indoor, air-conditioned playground for kids inspired by Mary Blair’s concept art for Alice in Wonderland. The Tugley Woods at Drawn to Wonderland You can watch the Emmy-winning Disney short “Once Upon A Studio” in the Once Upon A Studio Theater. Once Upon a Studio You can even interact with some of the artwork inside the building in new and unexpected ways, plus you’ll want to hunt down all the Easter eggs. There’s so much to do inside. And now, anyone can visit it (but like we said, you might need to wait in a virtual queue to get inside). We’re excited for everyone to see this new space! Let’s go! We’re sharing some of our favorite Loungefly hacks that have held up to countless hours in the Disney World parks! We love our Loungeflys! If you’ve been following us for a while, you probably know that Loungefly is one of our go-to brands for park bags. We can’t resist the perfect combination of convenient size AND unique Disney designs! And these hacks take our love for Loungefly park bags to the next level. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Ready to rock your Loungefly around Disney World like an expert? We’ve got you covered! Use a Bag Organizer for Maximum Efficiency We’re starting off with a two-for-one hack, courtesy of this game-changing Mini-Backpack Organizer! Since the main compartment of a Loungefly backpack is a big, open pocket, this helps keep things organized and separated for easy access. No more digging to the bottom of your bag in search of something that suddenly seems impossibly small, like a wayward lip balm or pen for character autographs! ©Amazon Plus, this also makes it SUPER easy to transfer all of your essentials between bags if you’ve got a few different Loungeflys you plan to use throughout your trip. That officially makes this hack a win-win! View on Amazon Pick the Right Size Water Bottle Speaking of tips that touch on multiple things at once, we’re constantly reminding people just how essential it is to bring a Refillable Water Bottle to the park so you can stay hydrated without spending a fortune on bottled water. And if you plan to use a Loungefly as your park bag, you might want to opt for a slightly smaller one, like this Owala Water Bottle, so you have enough room to slip it inside your bag. Ariel Owala Water Bottle As tempting as it might be to grab a big water jug to REALLY stay hydrated, we prefer the trade-off of filling up our bottle a few more times while being able to slip it inside our bag! View on Amazon Clip Your Minnie Ears to Your Bag Since the Loungefly mini-backpacks are smaller than some other park bag options like a standard backpack, we love any creative solutions that help us unlock some extra storage capacity. That’s why we’re fans of these Minnie Ear Holder Keychains that let us clip our ears securely to the outside of our bag when we need to take them off throughout the day. ©Amazon The keychain is easy to clip on and off, so you can loop it through whichever strap on your bag works best. If you’re an avid Minnie Ears wearer, this little accessory is a HUGE help both for saving some space in your bag and keeping your ears from getting squished inside! View on Amazon Customize Your Loungefly Bag with Charms We adore the fun, unique designs on Loungefly bags, and the maximalist in us can’t resist taking the flair to the next level with some gorgeous Bag Charms. With bag charms, we can get hyper-specific with repping our Disney favorites (like these Disney Food Charms, obviously!). Plus, it lets us switch up our accessories day-to-day without taking up all the space in our luggage with a bunch of different bags for each day of the trip. ©Amazon Whether you’re more of a single charm person or want to go all-out with tons of bag charms, the world is your oyster with this customization trick! View on Amazon We’re longtime Loungefly fans, and these are a few of our favorite hacks that we’ve picked up after years of carrying their bags around Disney World. Disney… we are begging you to stop playing with our feelings right now! Cinderella Castle You took away Doctor Seeker, the Miss Piggy Fountain is gone forever, and Aerosmith left Hollywood Studios. We understood these changes, even if they made us sad. Now, Disney has taken away something subtle, but our hearts are BROKEN. Disney, we really can’t understand why you made this change. This news takes us into Fantasyland at Pinocchio Village Haus, where we unexpectedly had our worlds rocked today. If you don’t know, this quick service, which serves up flatbreads and more, has windows that look directly into the famous attraction “it’s a small world”! A snack in front of the “it’s a small world” window! These windows look directly into the ride so you can enjoy your bites while getting a new point of view of fun in Disney World. This is easily one of our favorite spots to sit in the restaurant because you can wave to the people below as they go on the happiest cruise ever. What was even MORE fun were the signs you could find at these tables! The signs! These signs gave riders below directions and silly prompts so you could interact with each other and make fun memories. We LOVED holding the signs up and seeing if other guests would play along. If you’ve noticed we’re talking in the past tense, it’s because Disney has permanently retired these signs! Here it is on the table! During a review today, our reporter asked the Cast Members where the signs were, and the Cast Member mentioned they were no longer available. Shocked, we proceeded to ask three more Cast Members to confirm. All four Cast Members confirmed the signs were gone forever. Some of the Cast Members mentioned that people had “taken” the signs, which caused problems with keeping them on the tables. They didn’t confirm if that is why Disney removed the signs for guests. CLAP if you’re sad! This was just one subtle way that Disney created magical interactions between guests, so we are seriously sad to see this go. We’re hoping that this won’t be forever and one day the interactive signs will return to the restaurant, but there is no indication of that at the time of writing. Luckily, the Blue Fairy’s Wishing Book is still there for guests to write their hopes, wishes, and dreams down if you want a magical, interactive moment in the restaurant. Pinocchio Village Haus We are just hoping that this is a temporary pause rather than a permanent removal. Disney Adults have very specific shopping habits. We can spend months debating the merits of a new Loungefly, but put a genuinely useful park-day gadget in front of us and suddenly it’s in the cart before you can say, “free shipping.” We love our essentials And right now, Amazon has quite a few things that immediately made us think, “Yep, Disney trip.” From the charger that can rescue multiple devices to the pillows that might make your own bedroom feel a little more like vacation, these are the Amazon finds Disney Adults should have on their radar this weekend. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. USB-C + Magnetic Charger Disney trips are basically an endurance test for your phone battery. Between checking wait times, taking approximately 600 photos of Cinderella Castle, mobile ordering lunch, and trying to figure out where everyone wandered off to, that battery percentage can disappear FAST. Anker 621 Magnetic Portable Charger We like that this charger gives you options. You can use USB-C or magnetic charging, which means fewer little technological headaches when you’re already trying to make a Lightning Lane on the other side of EPCOT. view ON AMAZON Hotel-Style Pillows You know THE hotel pillows. The ones that somehow convince you that your mattress at home has personally betrayed you. ©Amazon If returning from Disney has ever sent you on a quest to recreate that fluffy hotel-bed situation, these pillows belong on your list. Vacation is temporary. Dramatically improving your pillow arrangement can be forever. view ON AMAZON Comfy Walking Shoes There are some Disney purchases you can debate. Comfortable shoes are not one of them. A park day can mean miles and miles of walking, and by the time you’re limping toward the bus stop at night, those cute-but-questionable shoes from the morning will have revealed themselves as your enemy. ©Amazon Grab a comfortable pair here and, importantly, break them in BEFORE your vacation. view ON AMAZON Portable Noise Machine Disney hotel walls occasionally have a fascinating ability to introduce you to complete strangers. Kids running down the hallway. Doors closing. Someone apparently reorganizing a suitcase at midnight. Dreamegg Portable Travel White Noise Machine A portable noise machine can help turn all of that into somebody else’s problem while you get some much-needed sleep before rope drop. It’s also a tiny piece of sanity for families traveling with kids who are used to sleeping with white noise at home. view ON AMAZON Flat Extension Cord There are never enough outlets exactly where you need them. Someone needs to charge a phone. Someone else has a watch. There’s a portable battery involved. Maybe a sound machine. Suddenly your hotel room looks like Mission Control. Flat Plug Power Strip This flat extension cord makes sharing that limited outlet real estate much easier, and the flat design is particularly handy when space is tight. view ON AMAZON Loungefly Organizer Loungefly bags are adorable. The archaeological dig that sometimes happens inside them? Less adorable. This organizer gives everything a designated home, so you’re not elbow-deep in your backpack looking for lip balm while the person behind you in line quietly reevaluates all of their life choices. Loungefly Organizer For anyone who loves carrying a Loungefly in the parks but wants a little more structure inside, this is SUCH a smart addition. view ON AMAZON Frogg Toggs Poncho We own this one, and yes, it has survived the Disney World weather test. The Frogg Toggs poncho is lightweight, easy to carry, and comes with its own pouch, which is exactly what we want from something that may spend 90% of the vacation tucked inside a park bag. Frogg Toggs Poncho Then the Florida sky turns black at 3:17 PM, and suddenly it becomes the most important thing you packed. view ON AMAZON Our Amazon Carts Are Ready Disney Adults know that some of the best Disney purchases don’t actually have Mickey Mouse printed on them. They’re the things that make long park days easier, hotel rooms more comfortable, and rainy afternoons slightly less soggy. view OUR AMAZON STOREFRONT And keep checking back with us because we’re always hunting down the Disney finds actually worth making room for in your suitcase… and your Amazon cart. When it comes to navigating a Disney World vacation, the most helpful tool you can have is the My Disney Experience app on your phone. The My Disney Experience app can do everything from opening your Disney World hotel room door to acting as your park ticket, as well as let you Mobile Order food, use Mobile Checkout when buying souvenirs, book Lightning Lanes, and so much more. My Disney Experience App That’s why we always want to give you a heads up when changes happen on the app. And we recently noticed a new change that we want to make you aware of. In the past, when you checked out a restaurant on the My Disney Experience app and clicked on “View Menu,” you’d get a long list of the menu items that you would have to scroll through to see what’s what. Well, Disney World has redesigned that part of the app so that when you view a menu, it’s broken down into sections. ©Disney All you have to do is click on the little arrow or section name, and the app then shows you a dropdown of everything under that section. Yes, the menus are a little better organized and much easier to read now! ©Disney This might not seem like a MAJOR change, but if you want to look at something specific like entrees or desserts available at a restaurant, it’s a lot easier to find what you need. You no longer have to keep scrolling through the long menu list to find those sections. ©Disney Now, more big changes will be coming to My Disney Experience this year. Disney fans have been waiting for Villains Land for YEARS, as rumors of the land have been circulating since the late 1990s! ©Disney Due to that intense anticipation, misinformation about the land (which was officially announced in 2024) has run a bit rampant. Now, it’s time to debunk some of these rumors as more details about the land have come into focus. The Land Wasn’t Redesigned with an Emperor’s New Groove Attraction Earlier in 2026, rumors spread that major changes had been made to the then-yet-to-be-announced master plan of the land. Back in February, Wired reported that then-incoming Disney CEO Josh D’Amaro had instructed Imagineers to rethink the land, including reporting that the long-rumored Maleficent coaster was “being converted to a more family-friendly coaster, along the lines of Slinky Dog Dash at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, this time themed to The Emperor’s New Groove.” ©Disney That rumor was completely debunked at D23, when Disney not only confirmed that a thrilling coaster based on Maleficent would be the land’s central attraction, but they also showed off a massive model of the coaster, with its scale… ©Disney … twists and turns… ©Disney … and landscaping all on full display. ©Disney The Land WON’T be Connected to the Haunted Mansion Given the proximity of parts of Villains Land — which is being built “beyond Big Thunder Mountain” in former backstage areas — to the Haunted Mansion, as well as the fact that both areas will share similar “spooky” aesthetics, there was a belief amongst some that the land and Mansion would be connected. However, models of the area don’t show any direct connection. The Haunted Mansion In addition, the land’s storyline was revealed at D23, and it’s not related to the Haunted Mansion. According to Disney’s newly released story synopsis for the area, Villains Land will offer an “original take” on the company’s antagonists, set in a “vast, foreboding forest.” Guests who enter will come across a Wishing Well that’s been torn asunder by a wish so “evil it corrupted the stone and broke open the structure, spreading the Well’s poisoned magic throughout the forest.” This release of poisoned magic will, in turn, draw in “villains who have come here to try and claim the last of the Wishing Well’s power.” An engrossing storyline with tons of potential, but nothing about it seems related to the mansion. ©Disney The Magic Mirror Dark Ride is NOT a Boat Ride In addition to the coaster, Disney announced a second major attraction for Villains Land: A dark ride featuring a cavalcade of Disney Villains in which the Magic Mirror will “magically transport (guests) into his mystical Mirror Realm to see things on the other side of the mirror. There, in his ethereal realm, (guests) will be transfixed by countless Disney Villains conjured in ways only the Magic Mirror can do. A combination of special effects and physical set pieces will bring his Mirror Realm.” ©Disney When looking at the above concept art, many jumped to the conclusion that the attraction was a boat ride, given the appearance of the vehicle and the fact that it appeared to be “floating.” However, upon closer inspection, the vehicle actually appears to be similar to those on Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure, the screen-based dark ride at Tokyo DisneySea’s Fantasy Springs. I’m FLYING! There’s No Announced Cruella de Vil Ride During the Villains Land portion of the D23 Horizons panel, Glenn Close made an in-character appearance as Cruella, reprising her role from the 1990s live-action 101 Dalmatians films. During the bit, Close as Cruella joked about “her ride” in Villains Land. That led some viewers to believe that there was a full Cruella-themed ride announced for the land; however, that’s not the case. Disney’s Villains Land is finally becoming a reality in the Magic Kingdom, and with each piece of official information released about the land, older rumors are being debunked. Another closure has hit Disneyland Resort, but it may not be one you were expecting. Broken Spell Lounge Inside the Disneyland Hotel, you’ll find a spot that has seen many different versions of lounges over the years. Currently, you’ll find the Broken Spell Lounge here, which opened back in late 2025. However, if you were hoping to stop by on your upcoming trip, that just got much harder. The Disneyland website currently lists the Broken Spell Lounge as closed for refurbishment. No reopening date has been listed at this time, and currently the lounge remains closed through as far as the calendar goes right now, which is October 23rd. ©Disney Broken Spell Lounge is inspired by the Disney animated film Sleeping Beauty, and that’s shown throughout the theming of the space. When open, you can grab small bites like the dry-rub chicken wings, classic Caesar salad, savoury steak frites, and molten chocolate cake, as well as glasses of wine and special cocktails like the Old Fashioned or Black Thorn Bramble. Benevolent Faerie at Broken Spell Lounge If you’ll be near the Disneyland Hotel and are looking for other spots to check out, we recommend Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar for an incredibly immersive experience, the Palm Breeze Bar, as well as Tangaroa Terrace Tropical Bar & Grill. Not to mention, you can also order room service if you find you don’t want to leave the room. More Recent Disneyland Resort News! There are tons of ways to explore Disney World! After Hours at Magic Kingdom You can check out the theme parks, search around the resorts, and have fun at Disney Springs! You can even explore the theme parks after they close thanks to Disney’s After Hours events. Disney recently confirmed tons of exciting news about After Hours in 2027, but we noticed a few things were missing as well… After Hours are BACK in Disney World! This extra ticketed event gives you time in the parks after dark with low crowds, short lines, and endless snacks to indulge in. In 2027, confirmed After Hours Events will be hosted in EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Magic Kingdom. It’s at Magic Kingdom where we’re noticing a few changes. Wristband for After Hours in Magic Kingdom In 2027, there are two missing perks that we think you need to know about. The first missing perk impacts everyone going to the Magic Kingdom events because there is no mention of the Disney Enchantment Fireworks show! Disney Enchantment Fireworks In previous years, After Hours guests could watch both Happily Ever After and Disney Enchantment if they wanted extra entertainment throughout their evening. On Disney’s website, they wrote, “When you arrive early, you’ll have extra time to enjoy attractions and entertainment. Plus, you can witness the charm of Happily Ever After, the nighttime spectacular at Magic Kingdom park!” That means we’re getting half the fireworks next year. Happily Ever After While we love Happily Ever After, you can see it daily in Magic Kingdom (depending on weather). Disney Enchantment is a retired fireworks spectacular, and we loved that select guests could experience it at this event. This could also impact your planning if you want to check out nighttime entertainment, so plan accordingly. After Hours at Magic Kingdom The second missing perk is that there are NO discounts available for Magic Kingdom’s After Hours events. If you’re a Disney Vacation Club Member or an Annual Passholder, you can get discounted tickets to After Hours events at EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, but not Magic Kingdom. No crowds during After Hours in Magic Kingdom! In the past, these two groups could get discounted tickets to this event, so this is a pretty big change if you’re planning to head in late at night. If you’re interested in attending the event, you should know that Magic Kingdom After Hours runs from 10 PM to 1 AM each event night. Currently, Disney has confirmed After Hours for: January 11th January 18th February 1st February 8th February 15th February 22nd March 4th March 8th March 15th April 5th April 12th April 26th May 17th May 24th June 14th June 21th June 28th July 15th July 19th Empty lands during After Hours! Attractions that will be open include: TRON Lightcycle / Run Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Haunted Mansion Peter Pan’s Flight Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin And more! After Hours Event at Magic Kingdom You also get access to free drinks, popcorn, ice cream bars, and more! These are some of our favorite evenings in Magic Kingdom, although we will miss those rare fireworks. Be sure to keep following DFB for more Disney news, updates, changes, and more.
