  3. Since its introduction, Mobile Order has been a GAME-CHANGER for Disney dining! As we have said many times, the ability to order a meal at a popular park or hotel quick-service location right from the My Disney Experience app and pick up said order without waiting in a long line is a huge — and convenient — time-saver. However, Disney is often tweaking the system. Mobile Order Earlier this year, Disney tested a new Mobile Order rule during one of the resort’s busiest times that made a fundamental change to how it worked
and we have reason to think they might do it again soon. Earlier this year, around the 4th of July, the My Disney Experience app suddenly began restricting Mobile Ordering at certain popular hotel locations to only be available for guests who were physically close to the restaurant! If guests tried to Mobile Order while outside the restaurant, they received an error message that read “You’re too far away,” and a prompt to move closer to the restaurant to place a Mobile Order. Once they got closer, they were able to place a Mobile Order like normal. © Disney || Time to Eat! The list of affected restaurants at the time included: Gasparilla Island Grill at the Grand Floridian Resort Capt. Cook’s at the Polynesian Village Contempo Cafe at the Contemporary Resort Geyser Point at Wilderness Lodge Beyond those four restaurants, Mobile Order functioned like normal around the rest of the resort, likely indicating that the change was a test to measure the viability of this kind of change during busy times. Gasparilla Island Grill So, why do we think this rule may return in some form soon? As we said, the rule was first introduced during the busy 4th of July period when the resort was quite crowded. Well, there’s no more crowded time at Disney World than the year-end holiday season, with the weeks around Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s being the busiest of the year; it would make sense that Disney could try to tweak Mobile Ordering rules yet again. Contempo Cafe Whether Disney reintroduced the rule or not, you’ll still need a place to eat on your next vacation. We’ve been there – picking restaurants for Disney World can feel like a full-time job. Between the reviews, menus, and reservation strategies, it’s a lot to sort through. 4. If you’re visiting Florida soon, you should know that it’s hurricane season, and there’s a higher possibility of storms this time of year. Rainy day at Hollywood Studios ahead of Hurricane Milton The Atlantic area has been fairly quiet so far this hurricane season, until a system in the Gulf was upgraded to Hurricane Isaias on Wednesday, October 7th. Now, select parts of Florida are under a state of emergency. WESH 2 reports that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed an executive order putting 25 counties under a state of emergency as the result of Hurricane Isaias. The following counties are included: Baker, Bay, Calhoun, Columbia, Dixie, Escambia, Franklin, Gadsden, Gilchrist, Gulf, Hamilton, Holmes, Jackson, Jefferson, Lafayette, Leon, Liberty, Madison, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, Suwannee, Taylor, Walton, Wakulla, and Washington. ©WESH 2 “Today, I signed an Executive Order issuing a state of emergency ahead of potential impacts from Tropical Depression 9 (now Hurricane Isaias). This order will allow the Florida Division of Emergency Management to stage critical preparedness resources and ensure Florida is ready to respond,” DeSantis said in a statement. “Floridians should take this time to get disaster plans in place and ensure their hurricane supply kit is stocked.” ©The Weather Channel According to The Weather Channel, Hurricane Isaias is expected to become a Category 2 hurricane by Thursday night in the central Gulf. It’s projected to take a more northern path once it hits land. Parts of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida are currently under weather warnings. South Georgia may feel the effects of the storm as well. ©The Weather Channel We’ll be keeping a close eye on the projections for this storm and we’ll let you know if anything major changes. For now, it’s a good idea to prep your emergency kits and keep an eye on your local weather. 6. Every magical memory at Walt Disney World Resort starts with a Cast Member. When Dacia began caring for backstage offices as part of the overnight custodial team at Walt Disney World in the early 2000s, she wasn’t imagining a future in leadership. She was focused on learning her role, working hard and building a better future one day at a time. Twenty-three years later, she is an Area Manager with Holidays Services, helping lead teams that collaborate with Walt Disney Imagineering to bring seasonal magic to life across the resort. Her journey was shaped by her willingness to keep learning, leaders who saw potential she hadn’t yet recognized in herself, and a variety of development opportunities that helped her turn a job into a career. Over the years, she embraced new opportunities and expanded her expertise across multiple areas of the business. Her career journey included roles such as Craft Support Foreman, Decorator, and Planned Work Specialist, each providing valuable insights and a broader perspective of the operation. Every role helped build the skills and experience that prepared her for the next stage of her career. It Starts with a Name Tag Across Walt Disney World Resort, more than 80,000 Cast Members create happiness for millions of guests. But before Cast Members begin welcoming guests and creating magical experiences, they take part in Traditions, Disney’s onboarding experience. Through an introduction to the company’s history, culture, values and commitment to exceptional guest service, Traditions helps build a strong foundation for future growth and success. For Dacia, that introduction was only the beginning of a commitment to learning, which became one of the most important parts of her Disney story. “I never imagined I would get this far,” Dacia said. “Every opportunity helped me learn something new.” Saying Yes to New Opportunities Dacia’s path to Holiday Services began with what she believed would be a temporary opportunity. Curious about a different area of business and motivated by a desire to keep learning, she decided to take a chance on something new. “I’ve always liked challenges,” she said. “That’s where the magic happens.” What began as a temporary assignment ultimately became a new career path. Along the way, mentors and leaders encouraged her to see new possibilities. “Sometimes other people see something in you before you see it yourself,” she reflected. Today, Dacia is paying that lesson forward, and one of the most rewarding parts of her role has become helping other Cast Members see that same potential in themselves. She helps them build new skills, pursue new opportunities and recognize their own career possibilities. “There’s a lot of talent here,” Dacia said. “I love seeing people grow.” Learning Every Step of the Way Like Dacia, approximately three out of five Walt Disney World leaders began their careers in hourly roles. It’s their commitment to growth that can make all the difference. From operational training and safety programs to Disney University for courses and leadership development opportunities, she has continuously expanded her knowledge, preparing herself for the next step along her career journey. What began as an overnight custodial role became a 23-year journey filled with new experiences, new opportunities and a passion for helping others succeed. The Magic Starts with Cast Members When asked what advice she would give someone considering a new opportunity, Dacia’s answer is simple: “Be the best you can be wherever you are today.” As Walt Disney World continues to grow, one thing remains unchanged: the magic will always begin with the talented Cast Members who bring it to life every day. 13. Who’s ready to go on a Disney Cruise? We have good news if you raised your hand, because it’s about to get even easier! ©Disney The Disney Believe is Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, featuring beloved Disney stories such as Peter Pan, Toy Story, Encanto, Frozen, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Moana, and The Little Mermaid. If you’re eager to sail on the ship, too, then today is your lucky day: Disney just announced booking dates for the Disney Believe! You can book your voyage on the Disney Believe starting on October 19th 2026, in just a few days. The Disney Believe will set sail on 18th December, 2027, out of Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with ports of call in the Bahamas and the Caribbean. ©Disney As a Wish-class ship, the Disney Believe will likely feature 1,250 staterooms, including verandah staterooms, oceanview staterooms, inside staterooms, concierge suites, royal suites, and a ship-exclusive Believe Tower suite. Most staterooms on the ship will likely sleep three to four. Our room on the Disney Wish! The Tower Suite was just confirmed to be themed to Magic Kingdom! The main space draws inspiration from Main Street U.S.A. ©Disney There will also be rooms and spaces in the Suite themed to the different lands in the park, such as Frontierland and Adventureland! ©Disney When you step onto the Disney Believe, you’ll be welcomed into the Grand Hall and greeted by a shining bronze statue of Moana and her companions, Pua and Hei Hei. Disney shared that the Grand Hall will be infused with the optimistic spirit of exploration from the Moana films and that Imagineers turned to artisanal Polynesian finishes that honor the South Pacific’s cultural traditions. The guardrails around the statue feature a floral pattern straight from Moana’s dress, the stair rails have a triangular pattern, and the second-story railings have an ocean wave pattern, all in a natural brown color. We can also see that the carpet flooring is a blue design reminiscent of the ocean. ©Disney We also just found out that we can expect to find a new version of the Tangled show as well as the first-ever Broadway-style Encanto show, which we are already thrilled to check out. ©Disney We know we will be booking our trips as soon as booking opens in just a few days on October 19th! 15. The newest ship coming to theDisney Cruise Line fleet is the Disney Believe, which will be the cruise line’s ninth ship and the fourth ship in the Wish Class. The Disney Believe will be setting sail for the first time in late 2027, but Disney has been sharing new information about the ship throughout the year. ©Disney The new ship’s experiences will be shaped by some of the most beloved Disney stories such as Encanto, Frozen, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Moana, and The Little Mermaid. For a while, we’ve been waiting to hear what kind of experiences the ship will offer inspired by these characters and stories. Well, Disney just announced something BIG regarding the entertainment on the ship! Disney just shared that the Disney Believe will have a new Encanto-themed stage show (and yes, our entire team is losing our minds). Some cast members came out to sing songs from the movie. ©Disney This is the first time Encanto has been staged on a cruise. ©Disney We wish it played every night because we would watch it every night (okay, but we got to see the other shows, too). ©Disney There will also be a Tangled-themed show with a new set design from other cruises. Also, can we talk about the concept art? They better sell posters for everything because we love it. ©Disney Disney Seas the Adventure is an original stage show for Wish class ships and will feature beloved Disney and Pixar characters and iconic songs. We’ve seen this before and always have a really good time. It puts us in the mood to get our cruise adventures on! ©Disney In the summer, Disney shared some other details regarding the Disney Believe during the D23 Expo. It was announced that the Disney Believe’s bow will feature one of the most iconic characters, Tinker Bell. Her silhouette will be “flanked by the silhouettes of Peter, Wendy, Captain Hook, and other characters from the film flying amid the swirling design.” The details look amazing! ©Disney It was also announced that the stern of the ship will feature everyone’s favorite duo, Woody and Buzz. The two will appear to be working together to etch the ship’s name on the back of the vessel. We can’t wait to see what this looks like when it’s complete. ©Disney Lastly, Disney also shared that when you step inside the ship and enter the Grand Hall, you’ll see the bronze cast statue of Moana and her companions, Pua and Hei Hei. It was only a matter of time until we saw Moana as a big part of a Disney cruise, and now the time has come. ©Disney We’re expecting Disney to be sharing a lot more news about the Disney Believe until the ship is ready to set sail. 16. Are you ready to Believe? We’re talking about the Disney Believe, the ninth ship to join the Disney Cruise Line fleet. ©Disney The Disney Believe will set sail on its maiden voyage in late 2027, and will feature some of Disney’s most beloved stories, including Peter Pan, Toy Story, Encanto, Frozen, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Moana, and The Little Mermaid, as well as other Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars stories. However, what we’re most interested in when it comes to this new ship is the FOOD, and now Disney has revealed some new restaurants coming to the Believe! Disney just made some HUGE announcements about the Disney Believe, including the names of the lounges and restaurants coming to the ship. Let’s take a look! Disney Believe Cafe Kakamora will be a lounge inspired by the Kakamora from Disney’s Moana. ©Disney Big Hero Sips will be a spot inspired by Big Hero 6, where you can different types of drinks. ©Disney We were predicting a lounge themed after Disney Villains, and while that isn’t the case, there will be a lounge themed after the iconic Disney Princess who started it all, Snow White. This lounge is called Wishing Well! ©Disney Disney did hint that the lounge might be getting something “magic mirror themed”, so we’ll have to wait and see what that’s about. ©Disney A new rotational restaurant coming to the new Disney Cruise ship is called Oaken’s Table: A Frozen Family Feast. Oaken is setting the tables for a festive family reunion at his summer house. ©Disney Beloved Frozen characters will be there, as well as Oaken’s family. ©Disney There’s also going to be a piano lounge themed after The Little Mermaid called Sea Notes. ©Disney It’s going to feature live entertainment, and it looks like quite the elegant experience! We can’t wait to see how this turns out. ©Disney Then there’s Stargazers! While we don’t know much about this lounge, the poster indicates that it will be a gorgeous spot featuring some of Disney’s most beloved characters. ©Disney The popular Haunted Mansion Parlor lounge on the Disney Treasure and Disney Destiny will be aboard the Disney Believe. Disney didn’t share whether the lounge themed after the iconic Disney Parks attraction would be the exact same or have differences, but we’re excited to see it come to the new ship. Haunted Mansion Parlor on the Disney Destiny The Disney Believe will have a total of three rotational restaurants, including the previously mentioned brand-new Oaken’s Table: A Frozen Family Feast, as well as popular spots 1923 and Worlds of Marvel. 1923 and Worlds of Marvel can both also be found on the Disney Wish, Disney Treasure, and Disney Destiny. Worlds of Marvel on the Disney Treasure If you’re looking for a place for a sweet treat, you can check out Inside Out Joyful Sweets, which will be a candy store on the ship. The candy store will also feature characters from Inside Out 2. ©Disney The Disney Believe will also have a Grand Hall featuring a statue of Wayfinder Moana and her companions, Pua and Hei Hei. The Grand Hall itself will be themed around the spirit of exploration from the Moana movies. ©Disney We’ve also learned that the bow will feature Tinker Bell as she appeared in the animated Peter Pan. She will be “flanked by the silhouettes of Peter, Wendy, Captain Hook, and other characters from the film flying amid the swirling design.” The stern will feature Woody and Buzz Lightyear from the Toy Story movies! ©Disney Disney has not yet revealed specific itineraries or booking dates for the Disney Believe, but we’ll keep an eye out for updates, so stay tuned to DFB for more. 18. One Disney World trend we never love to see coming is price increases. Mickey at Garden Grill Over the last few years, we’ve noticed an annual price increase on almost everything related to the Disney parks, from snacks to tickets and even table service. Even Signature Dining Experiences continue to increase in price, and this latest hike is no different. Now, the price has increased on the most exclusive dining experience. It’s not uncommon to see Disney World increase prices every year on food, experiences, park tickets, Annual Passes, and more. If you’re heading on a trip anytime soon or even into 2026, you need to be prepared to pay a bit more for character meals around the resort. Ariel at Cinderella’s Royal Table If you don’t know what a character meal is, it’s a dining experience where Disney characters meet and greet with guests while you enjoy your breakfast, lunch, or dinner. They move around from table to table and stop for a hug, photo, and (sometimes) a quick conversation. It’s a great way to meet several characters easily while pausing for a meal and getting some guaranteed AC. Chef Mickey! Sadly, the time has come for those annual price increases across the resort. Character dining prices increased across all four parks and resorts: Akershus Royal Banquet Hall — Breakfast: Increased from $62 (adults) $39 (children) to $66 (adults) $42 (children) Akershus Royal Banquet Hall — Dinner: Increased from $46 (children) to $47 (children) Chef Mickey’s — Breakfast: Increased from $58 (adults) $37 (children) to $62 (adults) $41 (children) Chef Mickey’s — Dinner: Increased from $69 (adults) $44 (children) to $72 (adults) $46 (children) ‘Ohana — Breakfast: Increased from $53 (adults) $33 (children) to $58 (adults) $36 (children) Cinderella’s Royal Table — Breakfast: Increased from $74 (adults) $45 (children) to $79 (adults) $49 (children) Cinderella’s Royal Table — Dinner: Increased from $88 (adults) $52 (children) to $92 (adults) $57 (children) Cape May CafĂ© — Breakfast: Increased from $49 (adults) $33 (children) to $52 (adults) $35 (children) The Crystal Palace — Breakfast: Increased from $52 (adults) $33 (children) to $57 (adults) $37 (children) The Crystal Palace — Dinner: Increased from $42 (children) to $46 (children) Hollywood & Vine — Breakfast: Increased from $33 (children) to $34 (children) Hollywood & Vine — Dinner: Increased from $42 (children) to $45 (children) Topolino’s Terrace — Breakfast: Increased from $52 (adults) $33 (children) to $59 (adults) $39 (children) Tusker House — Breakfast: Increased from $52 (adults) $35 (children) to $53 (adults) $38 (children) 1900 Park Fare — Breakfast: Increased from $58 (adults) to $59 (adults) 1900 Park Fare — Dinner: Increased from $44 (children) to $45 (children) Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White — Dinner: Increased from $67 (adults) and $41 (children) to $72 (adults) and $46 (children) Lilo at Ohana! They’re some of our favorites at Disney World, but good news, everyone: it just got easier to get them! You’ll be able to mobile order to-go churros from Nomad Lounge in Animal Kingdom. 20. It’s day three of learning more about Disney Believe, Disney’s newest cruise ship, and the day keeps getting better. We’re on board the Disney Wish, which will have the same layout as Disney Believe, debuting in late 2027. While onboard, Disney keeps giving us more hints about what to expect when the Disney Believe sets sail. Let’s go! You can catch up on day one and day two right here so you know everything we do, but today’s big news is a livestream for everyone to enjoy at 4:30 PM EST. We’re expecting some big news, and we’re crossing our fingers to learn about the rotational dining restaurants, lounge themes, and everything else we could want. Let’s dive into what we know so far. Disney gave us some clues as to what we see onboard, and we saw plenty of hints to Peter Pan, Inside Out, Encanto, and possibly Monsters University, and honestly, everyone, I am losing my mind over it. Monsters University on a ship?? Say less. Clues We headed to Castaway Cay to look for more clues! We grabbed a coffee with Prince Eric’s statue on it, which is obviously giving us The Little Mermaid vibes. We are too obsessed with DCL coffee As we started on the scavenger hunt across the island, we first went to the Heads Up Bar where we put together a puzzle that looks like Bruno’s vision from Encanto. We think Encanto will be pretty prominent on the ship, and we’re crossing our fingers for a rotational dinner themed to Encanto. Can you imagine the arepas? Bruno’s puzzle We also opened a treasure chest that revealed a map that says, “Your ticket to the Disney Believe reveal is scattered across Castaway Cay.” Guess we have to explore the island a bit more! 21. As huge Christmas fans, we’re trying to stay present and enjoy the spooky season, but Disney isn’t making that easy with this brand-new pop-up shop at Disney Springs. It looks like we now have a reason to start shopping for Christmas decor and gifts a little early this year! New Hallmark Pop-Up! A new Hallmark Pop-Up shop has just opened at Disney Springs, and now we can’t stop thinking about the most wonderful time of the year. The store is filled with tons of Christmas ornaments, souvenirs, and more. We had to run to Disney Springs to check out the store on day one, and we’re taking you inside with us! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Check out tons of Hallmark Christmas ornaments on our storefront using the button below! view halLmark ornaments in our storefront! Before the store opened, they already had a full outdoor physical queue and a wait of OVER an hour for the virtual queue, which you have to join by speaking to a cast member holding an iPad at the front. The store stays at a civilized occupancy level because it’s smaller. The line was long! Truthfully, they definitely could have gone into a bigger space, which would have been easier for them logistically. It doesn’t surprise us that both the physical line and virtual queue line were as big as they were, considering the huge fandoms of Disney and Hallmark (us included, of course). Everyone is lined up! Inside the store, there were items like the Cinderella Castle Tree Topper that lights up and plays music. The Cast Member working there told us that it’s already sold out at most stores, so this is the only place you can get it at the moment. Cinderella Castle They also told us that the red Mickey ornament that records your voice plays a significant role in the Hallmark movie, Holiday Ever After: A Disney World Wish Come True, that was filmed on Disney World property and is coming out soon. This Mickey Ornament is a part of the ‘Holiday Ever After’ movie! So do the pajamas and the Skipper Mickey ornament. ‘Holiday Ever After’ There were a lot of other cool ornaments to look at, especially for Star Wars fans! Darth Vader ornament! Yes, definitely for Star Wars fans! Han Solo ornament Other merch was available that weren’t ornaments, including plushies
 Mickey and Minnie plushies!
and holiday clothing! Look at this Spirit Jersey! We left after spending about an hour in the store after the store, and there were hardly any Loungefly bags on the wall and hardly any Loungefly ears left. It’s hard for us to believe that they just didn’t have time to restock them. They had a lot of employees there, along with people from Hallmark corporate and Disney leadership, who we assume would make that a huge priority. So it could be that they had already sold out of some things, at least for now. There’s also a chance they don’t have much room for stock in the back, so maybe it’s a question of getting it from somewhere else on property. Regardless, they were HUGELY popular. All the Loungefly is almost gone! We actually asked someone from Hallmark corporate if this was a test to see if something permanent could exist here, and she said, “We’re definitely hoping for something permanent.” That would be cool, and from the success of this, it seems highly likely. Honestly, why wouldn’t they open a store at Disney Springs? We love this new store! You can check out tons of Hallmark Christmas ornaments on our storefront by using the button below! 22. Just like the parks, Disney World restaurants are constantly changing. A new chef can take a menu from ‘meh’ to amazing, a refurbishment can change the entire atmosphere, or a limited-time dish can be the best thing you eat on your whole trip. Brunch at Olivia’s Cafe in Old Key West Olivia’s Cafe at Disney’s Old Key West Resort has discontinued brunch, a longtime favorite of ours and a hidden gem in Disney World. Now, the restaurant will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner each day, and Disney just released the new breakfast and lunch menus! The new Breakfast menu features some familiar brunch favorites like the Oatmeal Brulee, Southernmost Buttermilk Chicken, Crab Cake Eggs Benedict, Banana Bread French Toast, Buttermilk Pancakes, Sombrero Beach Omelet, Papa’s Hash, and the namesake Olivia’s Breakfast. Breakfast menu The Lunch menu is similar to the dinner menu, featuring the same Conch Fritters, Shrimp Cocktail, Homemade Soup of the Day, Market Salad, Shrimp and Grits, Mahi Sandwich, and Southernmost Buttermilk Fried Chicken. New items include the Tuna Poke Bowl and Chicken Stir-Fry. Lunch menu The Dinner menu is identical to before brunch was discontinued, so you can still get your favorites. If you want to dine at Olivia’s Cafe with these new changes, breakfast will be served daily from 7:30 AM to 11:00 AM, lunch from 11:30 AM to 2 PM, and dinner from 5 PM to 9 PM. Two new menus! We’ll be sure to keep you updated on more Disney World restaurant changes, so stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more! 7 Major Changes Coming to Disney World in October Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! 24. There’s a new toy in Andy’s backyard, and not everyone is sure she belongs there. Lilypad! Lilypad, the frog-shaped tablet from Toy Story 5, has officially moved into Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and while plenty of guests are excited to see her spinning tunes, a whole lot of fans have one big question: what is one of Bonnie’s toys doing in Andy’s backyard?! Meet DJ Lilypad If you haven’t caught up yet, here’s the scoop. Lilypad from Toy Story 5 has a new gig as DJ of Alien Swirling Saucers, and the ride now goes by Alien Swirling Saucers: Lilypad Jams. The updated soundtrack mixes classics with brand-new music — reimagined versions of “You’ve Got a Friend in Me,” “We Belong Together,” and “I Can’t Let You Throw Yourself Away”. She’s not just there for riders, either. Guests walking through Toy Story Land can guess which toy Lilypad is doodling on her drawing app, help her unscramble puzzles, and watch “home videos” of Toy Story characters. She made her official debut on Friday, September 25th. Alien Swirling Saucers So
Why Is She in Andy’s Backyard? Here’s where things get interesting. The entire premise of Toy Story Land is that YOU have been shrunk down to the size of a toy and are hanging out in Andy’s backyard. That’s why there are giant Tinkertoys, oversized Popsicle sticks, and Andy’s handwriting all over the place. And Lilypad? She’s Bonnie’s toy. Once she started showing up, our comment sections lit up. One reader got right to the point: Another reader laid out the full case: Honestly? We get it. Toy Story Land is one of the most immersive lands at Disney World, and a big part of its charm is how committed it is to that “you’re a toy in Andy’s backyard” story. So when something shows up that doesn’t quite fit, fans notice! Spinning to new tunes Disney Bends the Rules Sometimes This isn’t the first time Disney has stretched a land’s story to make room for a new or popular character. Frozen Ever After moved into the Norway pavilion in EPCOT’s World Showcase, and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind landed in a park that was once all about science and innovation. Even Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, which launched with a very specific place in the Star Wars timeline, has since welcomed characters from other eras, like The Mandalorian and Grogu. The Mandalorian and Grogu The reasoning is pretty simple: when a new movie comes out and a character becomes a fan favorite, Disney wants guests to be able to see that character in the parks. And kids who just watched Toy Story 5 are probably thrilled to find Lilypad waiting for them (they’re likely not too worried about whose backyard she’s in). The Toy Story Timeline Was Already a Little Fuzzy Here’s a fun wrinkle, though. By the end of Toy Story 3, Andy gave his toys to Bonnie, so Buzz, Jessie, and the rest of the gang are technically Bonnie’s toys now. And Woody headed off on his own adventure with Bo Peep in Toy Story 4. So if you think too hard about it, Andy’s backyard was already sort of frozen in time, a snapshot of the toys’ “good old days” rather than where the story stands today. Could Lilypad just be visiting? Maybe she tagged along for a playdate? Slinky Dog Dash So, Is This a Good Change? We can see both sides here. Die-hard fans who love the detailed storytelling of Toy Story Land have a totally fair point about continuity. At the same time, Lilypad brings fresh music, new interactive games, and some extra energy to a part of the land that didn’t have a ton going on between rides. For families with little ones who just saw the new movie, she’s going to be a hit. 25. Uh oh, a storm is moving closer to Florida, and we might see some pretty intense weather. We’re in the middle of storm season, so massive weather changes aren’t surprising, but storms haven’t gotten this close. Rainy Day in Magic Kingdom That may be changing as Tropical Storm Isaias forms in the Gulf of Mexico. According to News 6, Tropical Storm Isaias is expected to strengthen rapidly and could become the first hurricane of the 2026 Atlantic season. It has had maximum sustained winds of 45 mph and was moving east-northeast at about 8 mph. The storm is expected to turn northward and speed up, approaching the northern Gulf Coast by Friday afternoon. ©News 6 The storm is moving over very warm Gulf waters with plenty of moisture and relatively light wind shear, creating a favorable environment for rapid strengthening. The National Hurricane Center expects Isaias to become a strong hurricane before approaching the northern Gulf Coast on Friday. ©National Hurricane Center If the storm becomes a hurricane, it would mark the first hurricane of the 2026 Atlantic season, and if it reaches hurricane strength by October 8th, it could tie the record for the latest first hurricane, set on October 8th, 1905. Storm season in Magic Kingdom The storm’s exact track is uncertain, but a Storm Surge Watch is now in effect from the mouth of the Mississippi River to Yankeetown, Florida, while a Hurricane Watch is in effect from Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, to Indian Pass, Florida. Rainy days The storm is expected to grow as it approaches the coast, meaning impacts could extend well beyond the center. Central Florida is not expected to get a direct hurricane impact, but the storm could pull additional tropical moisture into the Southeast and contribute to a wetter pattern across the region this weekend, with possible heavy rain and flooding. 26. If you’re staying at a Disney World hotel, you’ll receive A LOT of perks, including free transportation to and from the parks and Disney Springs, an advanced window to book Lightning Lane reservations, and early entry into the parks before the general public! But there’s one perk that’s EXCLUSIVELY available for guests staying at some of the cheapest resorts on property! Pop Century Resort Typically, the Deluxe Resorts will be home to more perks, including Extended Evening Hours, but not this perk — this one’s for the cheapest resorts. This perk actually begins before your vacation officially starts: at the airport. And it can take A LOT of stress and weight off your plate. This perk is the Airport Luggage Transfer. This allows guests staying at select resorts to hand their bags off to Disney to take care of and bring to your resort for you! The steps to do so are simple: Fill out the BagCheck registration form for the Airport Luggage Transfer anytime from 30 days to one day (24 hours) before your departure flight, head to the airport and follow your airline’s procedure to drop off your luggage, and skip the baggage claim once you arrive at the Orlando International Airport — just head to your resort! MCO Airport Once you get to your resort, you have a couple of options: You can either pick up your bags from Luggage Assistance and Bell Services in the hotel lobby, or you can use your in-room phone to contact Luggage Assistance and Bell Services to have your luggage delivered directly to your room. Just be aware that it can take up to four hours for your bag to arrive at your hotel from the airport, so make sure to keep all of the essentials with you in your carry-on bag. All-Star Sports Resort This perk is also available when your vacation is over! So, how does it work when you check out? First, you’ll need to check in for your flight online starting 24 hours before departure. You’ll pay any necessary baggage fees via your airline’s mobile app or website. Then, you’ll drop off your luggage at the Luggage Assistance/Bell Services area between 24 hours and four hours prior to your flight’s departure time. You can either drop your bags off yourself or use your in-room phone to contact Luggage Assistance/Bell Services to have your luggage delivered directly to the drop-off area. You’ll then head to the airport, skip the check-in line, enjoy your flight, and pick up your bags at baggage claim when you arrive at your final destination. The luggage assistance desk! Now, this is only available at select resorts and on select airlines. The eligible resorts include: Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort Disney’s All-Star Music Resort Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort Disney’s Art of Animation Resort Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort Disney’s Pop Century Resort Disney’s Art of Animation Resort And the following airlines offer this service: American Airlines Southwest Airlines United Airlines JetBlue Southwest Airlines at MCO This could be a GREAT service to use if you are traveling with a large party or with children since you don’t have to worry about your bags. Your hands will be free to worry about other things; you won’t have to wait at baggage claim when you get to the airport, and, depending on the method you use to receive your bags, you may not have to use one of the large luggage carts at the resort to get your bags to your room. Caribbean Beach Resort However, there are some cons, including the waiting and the resort. As I stated above, it can take up to four hours for your bags to arrive at your resort. If you have a late flight, your bags won’t arrive at your room until even LATER, causing you to stay up and lose out on the precious sleep you need for your park day ahead! Disney’s Pop Century Resort And when it comes to the resorts, these are some of the cheapest you’ll find on property, which, yes, is a pro, but it also depends on what you’re looking for in a hotel. If you’re hoping to stay in close proximity to the parks, these resorts won’t be the best option for you. And those resorts that are in close proximity to the parks do not offer this service. Art of Animation If you’re planning a Disney World vacation, you really have to weigh the pros and cons of this service to figure out if it’s something you’re hoping to take advantage of during your trip. Things could change because change is a constant around Disney World, so we’ll keep you updated with any announcements about this service! 27. Uhm, Disney? Did you mean to take away one of our favorite hidden discounts? Bottled sodas are pricey in Disney World Disney World is expensive; there’s no way around that, but there are some ways to save some money. One way is to use discounts, especially if you’re an Annual Passholder or Disney Vacation Club Member. We used to use a merchandise discount to grab drinks, but Cast Members have confirmed it’s gone! Previously, we bought our soda and water bottles in gift shops, since Annual Passholders receive a 20% discount inside merchandise stores, as it’s technically a “merchandise discount.” This discount didn’t work at snack carts or restaurants since it was classified as food, even though it’s the same product. Popcorn and water at EPCOT After Hours With the hundreds of price increases that recently hit Disney World, they removed this discount. Ah! So we not only lost the 20% discount, but prices across Disney World also went up. Well, that doesn’t feel so magical. Discounts on bottled drinks were removed for Annual Passholders, Disney Vacation Club Members, Disney Visa Cardmembers, and Cast Members, so it was a big hit. Free snacks and bottled drinks at After Hours! What’s the best way to get around this? You might be stuck buying full-priced water and soda bottles, but you can also grab lots of free water around the parks. Most quick-service restaurants have cups and water, so you can fill your own. Keep an eye out for free water Kids meals usually come with a drink, too, so if you just need a little pick-me-up, that can be a great way to grab some soda. Grab a small soda You can also check out Club Cool! You can try free soda samples from different countries, and while you can’t fill up a whole bottle, it’s still a nice small pick-me-up when you need it.
