  2. When you’re planning a trip to Disney World, one of the most important things to consider is where you will be staying. There are a lot of opinions about which Disney Resorts are the best, which are worth a splurge, and which are not. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa Well, we reached out to our followers on Facebook to ask which Disney hotels were their absolute dream to stay at, and it’s safe to say there are a lot of opinions about where you should be spending your money when you stay on Disney property. Let’s dive in! After posting this question, we got SO many replies, and while you might think that everyone’s dream hotel was a super fancy deluxe resort, that was not always the case. One user shared, “Port Orleans Riverside has my heart!!” This resort is in the Moderate category, but it is so peaceful and pretty that it is many people’s favorite hotel. But, unsurprisingly, the majority of replies were discussing which of the Deluxe hotels was worth the price and a dream come true to stay at. Disney’s Port Orleans – Riverside Someone shared, “The Contemporary. I absolutely LOVE a room in the tower with an MK view! Nothing beats sitting out on the balcony and watching the boats, hearing the train, and seeing those fireworks at night. It’s pure magic!” Not only is the Contemporary on the Monorail, giving guests easy access to both Magic Kingdom and EPCOT, but there is also a short walking path directly to Magic Kingdom, which is an amazing perk of this resort. The Contemporary While someone else said, “Dream resort is Riviera. One day I’ll splurge on it. One day.” Disney’s Riviera Resort is a gorgeous hotel, and although we love the vibes, the rooms can be very small, which is something important to consider since it is a more expensive hotel. Another user shared, “For years and years it’s been Beach Club. The lobby smell, the closeness to Epcot… just can’t be any better for us.” We love that this hotel is within walking distance to both EPCOT and Disney’s Boardwalk Inn, giving you access to so many great food options just steps away from your resort. The Riviera Resort But it seems like many people share this user’s sentiment, “Are we allowed more than one??” Which we totally understand! There are so many incredible resorts across Disney property, it can be extremely difficult to choose the right one for you and your group, and to know which are worth the hefty price tag. 3. Walt Disney World’s Skyliner has been one of the resort’s most popular transportation methods since it opened back in 2019. Skyliner at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort However, there are some important things first-time guests need to know – – or returning guests need to remember – – before hopping into one of the gondolas. Weather Issues Can Happen Rainy weather is pretty common in Central Florida, and when the seemingly daily summer rainstorm happens, the Skyliner may be delayed. In fact, if there’s lightning, too much wind, or any other weather condition that can affect the safety of guests, the Skyliner will be shut down. Rain on the Skyliner When the Skyliner unexpectedly goes down — either due to weather or technical issues — things can be a bit of a nightmare as other Disney transportation systems at the Skyliner parks or hotels, like boats or buses, become swamped. After all, according to Disney, the system’s 304 gondolas currently carry over 10x the ridership of New York City’s well-known Roosevelt Island Ariel Tramway annually, which means when it’s down, there’s a lot of people to move. Look for a sign to let you know the Skyliner is closed! Those Afraid of Heights Should NOT Ride The Skyliner, as the name implies, soars high above Walt Disney World, with its gondola cars suspended by cables. While that may seem like common sense, people can sometimes be fooled at the ground level by just how high the Skyliner actually is. Suffice to say, we wouldn’t recommend riding to those who don’t like being high up, especially on windier days when the gondolas have a tendency to sway a bit. Skyliner The Cabins are NOT Air-Conditioned Be aware that the Skyliner gondolas are NOT air-conditioned. Now, they do have vents to keep the air flow while the vehicle is moving. However, if they stop even briefly, the Skyliner cars can get a wee bit toasty, especially at the height of summer. Inside the Disney Skyliner Taking the Skyliner to EPCOT May Change Your Rope Drop Plans While the Skyliner does travel to EPCOT, it doesn’t drop guests off at the front of the park, but rather at the International Gateway in the World Showcase between France and the United Kingdom Pavilions. So, if a guest wants to rope drop EPCOT and head immediately to Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure or even Frozen Ever After, they’re good. EPCOT Skyliner However, trying to rope drop, say, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, probably won’t work given how far the International Gateway is from that coaster. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Be Wary of January Each January, the Skyliner closes for annual maintenance. For example, 2027 will see the gonodola system closed from January 24th through January 30th. During these closures, Disney does provide complimentary bus service between the four Skyliner resorts (Art of Animation, Pop Century, the Riviera Resort, and the Caribbean Beach Resort) and EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. Disney World Skyliner Whether your next trip on the Skyliner is your first, 50th, or 500th, be sure to keep these things in mind before going airborne. 5. There are lots of changes going on in Disney World these days! This is a big change! The theme parks are expanding, and the hotels are getting big updates. While not every switch has been well received, this new change has been popular with Disney fans online. Here’s what you guys are saying about Disney World’s new Aunt Flow products! In case you missed it, Disney has started introducing Aunt Flow products to their bathrooms… FOR FREE! If you’ve never heard of Aunt Flow, it’s a woman-owned business whose mission is to “fight period poverty and end the stigma surrounding menstruation.” The company advocates for businesses and schools to offer high-quality pads and tampons for free in all of their bathrooms because their core belief is that if toilet paper is free, period products should be too. Aunt Flow products in EPCOT In Disney World, you could find period products for free in deluxe hotel rooms and First Aid, although those were in limited quantities. In other bathrooms throughout the resort, you would have to purchase period products in Disney World, and if you didn’t have change, you were out of luck. Now, thanks to Aunt Flow, these free products are expanding to multiple Disney World bathrooms. Online, hundreds of Disney fans had big opinions about this update! On Instagram, @fire.wine.victory wrote, “This is BRILLIANT. And it’s not like Disney can’t afford it!” One of the tampons “This isn’t a small change! It’s a huge step towards normalizing and widely accepting what naturally happens with our bodies. It’s a basic and fundamental component of life for half the population. To not have to panic and find loose change or run to first aid like a broken person is a big deal. I want my daughters to never have to feel panic and shame over their periods!” commented @arianne31. In EPCOT’s bathrooms @beccahsmith_ commented, “As someone who was ‘surprised’ in the Adventureland bathroom, with no quarter and had to diy, this is amazing!” We’ve been there too! They’re free! @shaylovessports commented, “Disneyland parks have had free tampons and pads for years. Glad to see WDW catch up.” It’s true, Disneyland has been leading the pack on this change for a while now. We’ve also seen that this has been expanded to the Disney Cruise Line as well, so it’s not just the theme parks. During our time in the parks, so far we’ve seen them in quite a few bathrooms like the ones in the American Adventure Pavilion, the Morocco Pavilion, the Odyssey Pavilion, the restrooms near Test Track, and more. We’ve also noticed them in the bathrooms at the entrance of EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, so they are slowly expanding to all of the bathrooms. The back of the package! In a rare moment online, we didn’t see any glaringly negative comments on the news in our comment section! Some fans did express concern that people might take all of the period products to “stock up” instead of just grabbing them as needed, but other fans replied, asking us to “have a little faith” in each other. So far, Disney has kept the restrooms we have seen the Aunt Flow products in well stocked, so hopefully this won’t be an issue in the future. This is a small but mighty change for tons of Disney guests, so we are extremely excited to see it. As always, be sure to keep following DFB for more Disney news, updates, fan opinions, and more. 6. There is no avoiding it, Disney World is HOT in the summer. Between the heat and the humidity, your days in the park can get uncomfortable fast, especially at midday when the sun is hottest. A sunny day in Hollywood Studios Which is why we always recommend summer essentials that will really help you to stay cool and enjoy your time in Disney, even when it is hot. And we think there is one essential all Disney fans should buy before summer is up. If there is one essential that will really help you in the Florida heat this summer, it is a hand-held fan! Check out our favorite Mickey Mouse Misting Mini Fan LACOVIA Cute Mouse Misting Mini Fan Unlike other bulky fans, this one is super lightweight and foldable, so it fits easily in your bag, and you can easily pop it whenever you need, which is so much more convenient than lugging a heavy fan around on a strap all day. It also has a great misting feature that really helps to get you cooler than a traditional fan. We also love that it has three different speeds, so you can decide which setting helps cool you down best. Mickey fan Another aspect of this fan that makes it super user-friendly is that it is rechargeable and comes with a USB-C charging cord. This is great because you don’t have to worry about replacing any batteries, and you can recharge it in your room each night so it’s fully charged and ready to cool you off all day long. 8. Say it ain’t so! As construction continues around Disney World, you’ll need to learn new walking paths, remember which rides are closed, and more to navigate your vacation. Frontierland In Magic Kingdom, one of our favorite ways to navigate the crowds is officially gone, but not in the way you might think. We’re breaking down what this subtle update to the My Disney Experience app really means. If you’ve ever been in Frontierland when a parade is going on, you might know that it’s a madhouse! The crowds are extremely apparent in this area, and it can be really hard to navigate your way to get to your next stop. That’s why we love the Frontierland Boardwalk path! The boardwalk path in Frontierland This walking path is the best way to avoid crowds while heading to Big Thunder Mountain or even the Haunted Mansion. It’s a wide path where you can’t watch the parade from, so it doesn’t get as crowded as the rest of the streets during those busy times. We’ve had a feeling that the boardwalk path wouldn’t survive the land’s construction, but now we think our suspicions have been confirmed. The land is currently adding a new area called Piston Peak, which will be a Cars-inspired land. Piston Peak construction Our first suspicions started when Disney released some concept art that didn’t clearly show the boardwalk path in it, implying the boardwalk would be removed along with the rest of the Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island. This concept art below was released in 2024, and has since been updated. So far, it has survived! Cars Area Concept Art ©Disney Then, Disney gave us new concept art in 2025 that showed the walking path! This left us hopeful that the designated path might stick around for our “parade avoiding” path. ©Disney Now, the path has disappeared! Well, only sorta disappeared. It has officially been removed from the My Disney Experience app, leading us to once again believe that the walking path will be removed once Piston Peak construction continues. ©My Disney Experience There is still a small section of it, which takes you around the bottom of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, towards Big Thunder Mountain. That being said, the rest of it has been removed! Disney, please say it ain’t so! We love this cut-through! ©My Disney Experience At the time of writing, the path is still around in the park, though! Guests can still use it to cut through the masses for some thrills. It does make us worry that it won’t be around forever. Hopefully, this is just a temporary change to the app, and it signals construction coming to the walking path, not that it’s being removed entirely. ©bioreconstruct Piston Peak, which doesn’t have an opening timeline yet, will have 2 new attractions as well as new characters, shopping, and more. For the main attraction in the area, guests can check out the Rally Racers Attraction, where you can race through the mountains on wild terrain along mountain trails as you dodge geysers and splash through mud holes on an exciting and thrilling rally race ride. @Disney There will also be a family attraction for “smaller racers” that Disney hasn’t released more details on just yet. We’re hoping we will get more information during D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. We are keeping our fingers crossed that this walking path can somehow survive the Frontierland carnage, but we aren’t too hopeful. 10. You might think that if you’re visiting one of Disney’s international theme parks, like Tokyo Disney Resort, you might need some extra help navigating Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea. It can be confusing traveling to a park you’re not as familiar with, after all. Ariel at Tokyo Disney Resort However, if you plan on hiring a tour guide to help you during your Tokyo Disney Resort trip, you need to know that the resort has issued a warning about using certain tour guides. A new warning has appeared on the Tokyo Disney Resort website that states the following: “Please Be Aware of Private Tours Unaffiliated with Tokyo Disney Resort. It has been confirmed on social media platforms that reservation sites for private tours where tour guides, unaffiliated with Tokyo Disney Resort, are offering tours of Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea. Please do not book or purchase from such sources. Additionally, Tokyo Disney Resort prohibits any unauthorized commercial activities.” ©Tokyo Disney Resort That means if you’re hiring a tour guide from social media that isn’t directly affiliated with Tokyo Disney Resort, you should not hire them. This is generally a prohibited activity in ALL Disney Parks, but it serves as a reminder that if you want a tour of Tokyo Disney Resort, you should hire guides directly from the resort. Tokyo Disney Resort does have VIP Tour Services, and you can find more information on the resort’s official website. 14. We’d be lying if we said transportation wasn’t one of our favorite things about Disney World. Stitch at ‘Ohana Breakfast From jumping on the Skyliner to get to Hollywood Studios to obsessing over the monorail at the Grand Floridian, if Disney has transportation, we have tried it and probably loved it. It helps get from the parks to the resorts, to water parks, and more. Transportation just changed at this popular resort, and we’re here for it! The new bus stop at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort has officially opened. The bus can take you to Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, and Disney Springs. You can also get to a few different resorts that way if you’re ready to check out some other hotels. Benches Is a bus stop really that exciting to us? Yes! We love it when it’s easy to get from our hotel to the parks, and we especially want it to be easy at the end of a long night, when all we want to do is lie in our comfortable beds and turn on Disney+. Signage The Polynesian is probably one of our favorite hotels at Disney World. We love the tropical vibes, and if you’re looking for a hotel that feels like a vacation, this is probably your spot. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort We usually check out Ohana for breakfast or dinner, but breakfast holds a special place in our hearts since you can meet characters there! You usually meet Lilo, Stitch, Mickey, and Pluto. Mickey at ‘Ohana Breakfast It’s also home to Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto, which is one of the best bars or lounges at Disney World. Its theming looks like the Enchanted Tiki Room, and some of the drinks even have interactive elements around the room. It’s SO much fun. Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto We can’t wait to use this new bus stop, but in the meantime, make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more tips and tricks for your upcoming Disney World vacation. 15. In the nearly four decades since it opened, the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa has been Walt Disney World’s flagship resort. Which, in turn, explains why the resort is always in demand, especially during the busiest seasons, like Christmas. If you’re looking to stay at the Grand Floridian this Holiday season, there are a few options with varying prices. Grand Floridian Christmas 2025 *A QUICK NOTE BEFORE WE CONTINUE* These rates reflect standard rooms – – water and theme park views will cost slightly more – – and do not include theme park or Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party tickets if applicable. November 25th-29th For many, Thanksgiving marks the unofficial launch of the Christmas season. Walt Disney World takes things a step further, officially launching EPCOT’s International Festival of the Holidays on the Friday after Thanksgiving. In addition, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party (which launches for the year on November 8th) is scheduled for November 25th, 27th, and 29th in this period. The parade is a must. If you’re thinking of arriving on Wednesday, the 23rd, and spending Turkey Day 2026 and the weekend after at the Grand Floridian, it’ll run you $1,044 a night, for a total of $4,698.00. ©Disney December 7th-11th If you have a flexible schedule and can stay during the week, you’ll be able to (comparatively) save just a bit, as the nightly rate is $983 for a total of $4,423.52 for the week. ©Disney You can put those savings towards Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, which is being offered on December 8th, 10th, and 11th. Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks December 18th-20th If you want to plan your day for the weekend just before Christmas – – which includes two of the final MVMPP offerings of the year on December 18th and 20th – – you can do it, but it’s gonna cost you Christmas decorations in EPCOT The nightly rate for those days is $1,183, with a total of $2,661.76 for the weekend. ©Disney December 23rd-26th If you want to spend the actual Christmas Holiday at the Grand Floridian – – arriving the night before Christmas Eve and departing the day after Christmas – – the nightly rate is $1,206, for a total of $4,071.38. ©Disney However, you may be surprised to know that the Christmas Holiday itself isn’t the most expensive period to visit during this time. Christmas in Hollywood Studios December 27th-30th In fact, the days between Christmas and New Year’s are actually more expensive. The nightly rate during this period is $1,218, with a total visit cost of $4,110.75. ©Disney December 31st-January 2nd: Unavailable If you were thinking of staying over New Year’s at the Grand Floridian, well… better luck in 2027. EPCOT New Year’s Eve No matter when you’re planning on staying, however, there’s one iconic element of the Christmas season at the hotel you WON’T see. Since it first debuted in 1999, a massive gingerbread house in the lobby of the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa has become a Holiday favorite of many guests. The icon was absent in 2025 due to construction in the hotel’s lobby, but was expected to return in 2026. However, in the spring of 2026, Disney confirmed that the massive gingerbread house won’t be returning going forward. While the hotel will instead feature a few small ones throughout the resort, made by Disney’s culinary team, the loss of the 25+ year old tradition has hit a lot of Disney fans hard. Grand Floridian Gingerbread Display (2024) If you’re looking to stay at the Grand Floridian this Christmas season, you still have some options… if you act fast. Just prepare to spend big. 18. If you’ve visited Disney’s Hollywood Studios recently, you’ve probably noticed quite a bit of construction happening in the park. First, Animation Courtyard is being reimagined into The Walt Disney Studios, although part of that project has already opened to the public. Then, the old Muppets Courtyard is being reimagined into Monstropolis, a Monsters, Inc.-themed land. ©Disney Well, if you’ve been getting excited about Monstropolis, it’s time to get even more excited. We’ve got a construction update from the construction site itself! The last time we checked in, we noticed a lot of cranes on site, doing all the things that cranes do. Well, that hasn’t changed, meaning that work is still well underway on the land. Crane on the construction site We also noticed scaffolding on a lot of the existing structures, and that is also still the case, meaning that the exteriors of these buildings are about to undergo some MASSIVE changes. LOTS of scaffolding There are also scrims now attached to some of the scaffolding, which we assume will come down once the major parts of the exterior work begin. Disney doesn’t want to reveal Monstropolis too early, after all! So we imagine that this view might change soon. There are scrims on the scaffolding There’s also still scaffolding around the water tower, as Disney preps to turn it into something that blends in better with the new land. It’s still seen in the concept art, so we don’t expect it to be removed. A lot of Monstropolis is being built on the bones of what was once Muppets Courtyard. Work on the water tower Monstropolis will feature two attractions, including Disney’s first-ever suspended roller coaster based on the doors scene from the first Monsters, Inc. movie, and yes, that scene has ALWAYS been something that a lot of folks (ourselves included) wanted to see turn into a ride. And it’s REALLY HAPPENING. ©Disney There will also be some sort of show in the Glob Theater, although Disney has not yet said what kind of show or entertainment this building will house. At this point, we’re really only assuming it’s a show, but it being a theater suggests that’s what it is. ©Disney We’ll continue to keep an eye on construction on Monstropolis, so stay tuned to DFB for more. 19. Mobile Order has become one of the most useful tools in Disney World. Mobile Order It saves time, helps you avoid long lines, and makes grabbing a quick meal or snack significantly easier during a busy park day. With so many locations now offering Mobile Order through the My Disney Experience app, it’s easy to assume every quick-service restaurant has jumped on board. But that’s still not the case. Whether you’re planning your next Disney World vacation or simply trying to avoid unexpected delays, there are several popular dining locations where you’ll still need to order the old-fashioned way. Here are 16 Disney World restaurants and snack spots that still do not offer Mobile Order. Magic Kingdom 1. Aloha Isle Home of the iconic Dole Whip, Aloha Isle remains one of the most popular snack stops in Magic Kingdom. Located in Adventureland, this location frequently attracts long lines, especially during the hottest parts of the day when guests are searching for something cold and refreshing. Despite its popularity, Mobile Order is still unavailable here. If a Dole Whip is on your must-do list, plan accordingly and be prepared to wait in line. Aloha Isle 2. Cheshire Cafe Tucked away near Fantasyland, Cheshire Cafe is known for serving Cheshire Cat Tails and specialty drinks. It’s a relatively small location, which may be part of the reason Mobile Order hasn’t been added. Since many guests stop here for a quick snack rather than a full meal, Disney may feel the current setup works well enough. Still, if you’re craving one of those famous pastries, you’ll need to place your order in person. Cheshire Cafe 3. Gaston’s Tavern One of Fantasyland’s most beloved snack locations, Gaston’s Tavern serves giant cinnamon rolls and LeFou’s Brew. The location is especially popular during breakfast hours, and lines can stretch outside the building. Yet despite being a fan-favorite destination, Mobile Order remains unavailable. That means you’ll need to join everyone else in line when those cinnamon roll cravings hit. Gaston’s Tavern in Magic Kingdom 4. Storybook Treats Storybook Treats has become a go-to stop for creative soft serve creations and limited-time seasonal desserts. Because Disney frequently rotates menu offerings here, some fans have wondered whether that contributes to the lack of Mobile Order. Regardless of the reason, you’ll still need to order at the counter. Storybook Treats EPCOT 5. Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie Located in the France Pavilion, Les Halles is one of EPCOT’s most beloved quick-service dining locations. Fresh pastries, sandwiches, desserts, and baked goods keep guests coming back year after year. It’s often busy from park open until close, yet Mobile Order has never arrived. For now, you’ll need to browse the bakery cases in person before making your selections. Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie 6. Crêpes À Emporter by La Crêperie de Paris If you’re looking for a sweet or savory crêpe while exploring World Showcase, this walk-up window is the place to go. The location generally moves guests through quickly, but Mobile Order still isn’t available. During festivals and peak seasons, lines can become noticeably longer. Crêpes à Emporter 7. La Cantina de San Angel Situated along World Showcase Lagoon in the Mexico Pavilion, La Cantina de San Angel offers tacos, nachos, and other Mexican favorites. Its waterfront location makes it a popular lunch destination, especially during EPCOT festivals. Even so, guests still have to order in person. La Cantina de San Angel 8. Katsura Grill Hidden within the Japan Pavilion gardens, Katsura Grill feels like one of EPCOT’s best-kept secrets. The peaceful atmosphere and menu of Japanese favorites make it a fantastic place to take a break from the crowds. However, Mobile Order has yet to make its way here. Katsura Grill 9. Lotus Blossom Cafe Over in the China Pavilion, Lotus Blossom Cafe serves a variety of Asian-inspired dishes. The location can experience significant rushes during lunch and dinner, particularly on busy weekends. If you’re planning to eat here, you’ll still need to join the regular ordering line. Lotus Blossom Cafe 10. Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe The Norway Pavilion bakery remains one of EPCOT’s most popular snack destinations. Between School Bread, Norwegian pastries, and seasonal treats, there is usually a steady stream of guests throughout the day. Mobile Order would certainly be useful here, but for now, it isn’t an option. Kringla Bakeri og Cafe in the Norway Pavilion 11. Sunshine Seasons Sunshine Seasons is one of the largest quick-service restaurants in EPCOT and offers one of the most diverse menus in the park. That’s why many guests are surprised to learn that Mobile Order isn’t available. Located inside The Land Pavilion, this food court-style restaurant continues to rely entirely on traditional ordering. Sunshine Seasons Disney’s Hollywood Studios 12. BaseLine Tap House BaseLine Tap House has become a favorite spot for adults looking to relax with a beverage and small bites. Because the location functions differently from a traditional quick-service restaurant, Mobile Order has never been implemented. Guests will still need to order directly from the bar. BaseLine Tap House 13. Hollywood Scoops This Sunset Boulevard ice cream location serves hand-scooped treats and seasonal specialties. While the menu isn’t particularly large, the location can become busy on hot Florida afternoons. If you’re stopping by for dessert, you’ll need to place your order in person. Hollywood Scoops 14. Ice Cold Hydraulics Located near the former Muppets Courtyard, Ice Cold Hydraulics offers drinks, snacks, and specialty beverages. The location often flies under the radar, but it remains one of the few Hollywood Studios dining spots without Mobile Order capabilities. Ice Cold Hydraulics Disney’s Animal Kingdom 15. Pongu Pongu Pandora is home to one of the most unique snack stands in Disney World. Pongu Pongu serves the famous Night Blossom beverage along with a handful of specialty snacks. Given Pandora’s popularity, many guests assume Mobile Order is available here, but that’s not the case. Expect to order the traditional way before enjoying your out-of-this-world treat. Pongu Pongu 16. Yak & Yeti Local Food Cafes Located near the popular Yak & Yeti Restaurant, these outdoor quick-service windows offer several fan-favorite menu items. Because they’re technically separate from the table-service restaurant, some guests expect to find Mobile Order available. Instead, you’ll still need to order directly at the counter. The good news is that the lines often move fairly efficiently. Yak & Yeti Local Food Cafes The Bottom Line Mobile Order has become an essential part of many Disney World vacations, but it’s not available everywhere just yet. These 16 locations across Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom still require guests to order in person, which can catch even experienced visitors by surprise. Knowing which restaurants don’t offer Mobile Order can help you plan your day more effectively, avoid frustration, and build a little extra time into your schedule when those snack cravings strike. As Disney continues to update and expand its dining technology, this list could change, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB for the latest Disney World dining updates, tips, and news. 20. Disney World is in the midst of a lot of construction right now. In Magic Kingdom, Frontierland is getting a Cars expansion, while a new Villains land is being added behind Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. In Disney’s Hollywood Studios, a Monsters, Inc. land is being constructed. A Tropical Americas-themed land is being created in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Germany Pavilion in EPCOT In EPCOT, the construction is a little more subtle, but it’s still happening. Most recently, we discovered that a store in EPCOT’s Germany Pavilion and the pavilion’s guest restrooms are closed for refurbishment. We recently visited the Germany Pavilion and saw that the majority of the store called Volkskunst is now closed for a refurbishment. The only section of the store that is currently open is the area near the exit with the Christmas decor. We spoke with a Cast Member who told us that it’s closed because work is being done on the backstage bathrooms. We saw tables and chairs set up outside the store’s entrance. Note that this is the store that has the German cuckoo clocks. The store is closed Speaking of bathrooms, the guest bathrooms in the Germany Pavilion are also closed. A sign on the construction walls around the bathrooms indicates that guests can use the bathrooms in the Norway Pavilion instead. Germany bathrooms are also closed We were also told that the Der Teddybar store may reopen when things get busier. We haven’t seen this store open since 2020, except for a brief time when it was an Annual Passholder meet and greet location. So that’s news, too! Das Teddybar One interesting thing, though, is that when we tried to view the Volkskunst page on the Disney World website, it was pulling up an error. Note that this store closure is in addition to the La Signature store closure in the France Pavilion. La Signature closed Anyway, you’ll want to keep these closures in mind if you’ll be visiting EPCOT soon, and we’ll also make sure you stay updated on all Disney World closures, so stay tuned to DFB for more. 21. An argument can be made that Hollywood Studios may be Disney World’s “best” park when judged purely on rides, as Rise of the Resistance, Slinky Dog Dash, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Millenium Falcon Smugglers Run, Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets, Toy Story Mania, Star Tours, and Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway all call the park home. Look before you GO GO GO! Given all those rides – – along with the highly anticipated Monsters, Inc. door coaster coming to Monstropolis – – pretty much every guest who walks through the recreation of the Pan Pacific Auditorium that serves as the park’s entrance is looking for ways to squeeze more rides into their day at the former MGM Studios. There is one way to do it, but it takes a sacrifice. Guests wanting to squeeze in more rides should consider skipping the park’s nighttime spectacular, Fantasmic! Fantasmic! Now, don’t get us wrong, we’re fans of the long-running night time show that sees Mickey Mouse battling Disney’s villains amindst a cacohpny of fireworks and music (even though it has never quite lived up to the Disnelyand original) but given the large crowds that flock to the Hollywood Hills Amphitheater, skipping it is a great way to hope on some of the park’s most popular rides. Fantasmic! crowds Lines can be comparatively shorter for high-profile attractions as Fantasmic!’s 9:00 showtime nears, especially in Galaxy’s Edge, which is located all the way across the park from Fantasmic! New missions on Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run While you’re riding all those rides, you’ll still need to find time to eat. Our Guide to Disney World Dining pulls it all together so you can stop stressing and focus on the fun without feeling like you’re missing a thing! This trick can be especially helpful if you’re a Disney Deluxe Tier Hotel guest taking advantage of an Extended Evening Hours night at the park and continuing to ride straight through Fantasmic!’s run, park closing to the general public, and the extra two hours that follow. Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway While Fantasmic! remains a popular nighttime spectacular nearly 30 years after its Walt Disney World debut, skipping the show can be the key to getting on even more of Hollywood Studios’ most popular attractions. 23. Yes, we love super advanced roller coasters and finding hidden details throughout Disney World but it’s really the little things that remind us of the magic and is a huge reason why we keep going back. Ariel After a long day in EPCOT, we were heading out towards the front of the park when we saw two very familiar princesses who made us stop and smile. No, it wasn’t an official meet-and-greet location, and you couldn’t find it listed on the app — it was a pure, magical stop that made our day so much better. Near the International Gateway, or the back entrance of EPCOT near the Skyliner, we saw Rapunzel and Ariel walking around, talking, and taking photos with guests! Neither princess has a set meet-and-greet in EPCOT (but you can find them both in Magic Kingdom), so we were excited to see them! Rapunzel is here! Sometimes we find random, or even rare, characters throughout EPCOT because that’s where some of them train before getting their official meet-and-greet locations. It can be for the character or the character attendants who are the Cast Members in blue helping out. You can look out for an “Earning My Ears” ribbon on their name tag, which tells everyone that they’re still getting the hang of things. Hi Ariel! Rapunzel was so happy to talk to us about her current art projects… Rapunzel …and Ariel was fascinated by a guest’s autograph book! Do you think she has one in her collection? Reading a book Some of our other favorite characters to meet around EPCOT that do have set locations include Anna and Elsa in the Norway Pavilion… Elsa …Winnie the Pooh in the U.K. Pavilion… Winnie the Pooh …and Mickey and Friends in CommuniCore Hall. Mickey! If you have someone obsessed with Disney Princesses with you, you might want to book a meal at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, which is a character dining meal. The different princesses come to you throughout your meal so you don’t have to wait in line. Plus, you get a pretty great meal! Let’s dine with some Princesses Make sure you’re keeping your eyes open when you’re walking around Disney, especially in EPCOT if you’re a huge character fan. 24. It’s hard to believe that summer is flying right by us in Disney World, and it will soon be August, and where did the time go? It seems like we were just enjoying the EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival and spring, but soon, we’ll be ushering in fall, which means all things pumpkin spice and the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival. 2025 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival Well, that’s not the only change happening in EPCOT in August 2026. So let’s take a look at next month in EPCOT! La Signature Closure La Signature, a store in the France Pavilion, temporarily closed its doors in June and will remain closed throughout August. So if you visit the store, you’ll see that the windows have been blacked out and its doors are locked. La Signature closed The store specializes in French cosmetics and fragrances from Guerlain. If you would like to shop Guerlain products in EPCOT, though, you can find them temporarily available at the nearby Plume et Palette while La Signature is closed. The closure is expected to last until late 2026. After Hours If you’d like to visit EPCOT with fewer crowds and shorter wait times, you can also purchase tickets for special After Hours events that happen after the park closes. Plus, you’ll get free drinks and snacks! Free Popcorn and water at EPCOT After Hours In August, EPCOT will have two After Hours event dates: on August 6th and August 13th. It’s a great way to experience the park without ALL the people because tickets are limited. Extended Evening Hours Another FREE way to enjoy EPCOT without so many people is by taking advantage of Extended Evening Hours in the parks, which are only available to guests staying at Disney World deluxe hotels, the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin, Walt Disney World Swan Reserve, and Shades of Green. Extended Evening Hours at EPCOT Extended Evening Hours in EPCOT will be on August 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th, and 31st. EPCOT Food & Wine Festival The biggest change you’ll see in EPCOT in August will be with the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival, which starts on August 27th and runs through November 21st. EPCOT will be transformed with special festival decor, along with over 30 food booths, special entertainment, and more. 25. As major Disney fans, we look forward to a lot of dates and events throughout the year. From the start of the holiday season on the first night of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party to the opening of every EPCOT festival, there is a lot happening around Disney Parks that keeps us excited every day. ©Disney One of the biggest events of the year, D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, is coming soon and is something we always look forward to. We’re just around the corner from potentially getting some major Disney news, and we’re here for it! While Disney releases news year-round, most of the big news is saved for D23, an expo held in Anaheim, California. There’s also Destination D23, which takes place in Orlando, Florida, and the two switch back and forth. ©D23 This year, D23 will be August 14th to 16th, which means we’re only a month out! There are different panels, like hearing from Disney legends, learning about the archives, and behind-the-scenes on some of your favorite movies, but we look forward to the Parks Panel, which is typically when we receive the Disney news. Panels Last year, some of the news we received was Cinderella Castle being repainted back to its original color scheme in Disney World… ©Disney …and that a Walt Disney animatronic was coming to the Carousel of Progress in Magic Kingdom. ©Disney In past years, we also got announcements for new lands and expansions like the Tropical Americas land in Animal Kingdom… The Casita ©Disney …and Monstropolis in Hollywood Studios. ©Disney What are we expecting this year? Well, since Disney is already working on a lot of major expansions, we’re not expecting anything massive, but we would love updates on the current projects. We would love to hear some opening dates for the projects, too! @Disney Not going to be there in person, but don’t want to miss the news? Don’t worry — that’s why we’re here! We have reporters at D23 getting the information and bringing it back to you through our blog and social media, so you can be the first to know about everything coming. Make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for all D23 announcements and everything Disney in the meantime.
