Weâre always excited to talk about food on Disney Cruise Line, and there are certainly plenty of food options on all of Disneyâs ships. That includes the signature dining restaurants, where you can get a more refined and elegant meal experience for a bit of an upcharge. Palo Well, if youâre a fan of the signature dining experience offered at Palo on Disney Cruise Line ships, weâve got some big news: a HUGE change is coming to the restaurant. Palo is an adults-only dining experience aboard Disney Cruise Line ships. Previously, you could order a prix fixe dinner at the restaurant, but that will be changing soon. Disney Cruise Line is phasing out the prix fixe option at Palo and opting for an Ă la carte dinner instead. This includes Palo, Palo Steakhouse, and Palo Trattoria. The transition away from prix-fixe dining will be on the following schedule: October 22nd: Disney Wonder October 23rd: Disney Fantasy, Disney Dream, and Disney Wish October 24th: Disney Magic, Disney Treasure, and Disney Destiny October 26th: Disney Adventure Palo Trattoria Last year, Disney announced a price increase for dining at signature restaurants like Palo: the price went up from $50 to $55. Platinum and Pearl Castaway Club Members can continue to use their $55 per person credit toward Ă la carte menu items for dinner only. Also note that youâre still responsible for beverage charges, gratuities, and anything that goes over the credit. Palo on the Disney Adventure If you need to modify a Palo reservation, you can do so by visiting the âMy Reservationsâ section of the Disney Cruise Line website. Note that modifications can be made online for up to three days prior to sailing. Weâll keep an eye out for more Disney Cruise Line updates and changes, so stay tuned to DFB for more. Now, this is a GREAT change for two airlines! ©Delta When it comes to medical emergencies onboard a flight, flight attendants are there to help, but there isnât a ton that they are able to do themselves. Planes do come with medical kits, but now two airlines have added something that will make them even more prepared for medical emergencies related to allergies. It was reported by Allergic Living that two airlines are now adding epinephrine auto-injectors into the emergency medical kits of all their aircraft. Those two airlines are Delta Airlines and Allegiant Air. ©Delta The news comes as the food allergy community and experts âexpress concerns to the Federal Aviation Administration â because the agency is not planning to make epinephrine devices on airplanes mandatory.â The FAA says only that treatment for anaphylaxis in airline emergency kits âcould includeâ epinephrine, in a proposed new rule. ©Delta A Delta Airlines spokesperson commented that the auto-injectors are âin line with our continued focus on the health and safety of our people and customers.â The move to having auto-injectors in the emergency medical kits onboard Delta aircraft will continue throughout 2027. So, availability may vary by aircraft for the next year. ©Delta As for Allegiant, they say that epinephrine auto-injectors are being added to its emergency medical kits in addition to epinephrine vials. As of right now, there is no rollout schedule that has been provided by the airline. âOur focus is ensuring our aircraft are equipped to respond to medical emergencies effectively,â said their spokesperson. Allegiant Air Delta and Allegiant will be joining JetBlue Airways, Southwest Airlines, and American Airlines as other U.S. carriers that stock auto-injectors in their emergency medical kits. Other airlines carry epinephrine vials that have to be drawn up. âThe auto-injector safety upgrades from Delta and Allegiant are a welcome turn of events following the FAAâs unveiling of its proposed new rule. It opts for a âflexibleâ standard of what EMKs contain,â says Allergic Living. Allegiant at Orlando Sanford Airport While itâs great that these two airlines have become safer for those with allergies, we do strongly recommend making sure you always have what you need on you when you travel. We totally get that sometimes things happen, like forgetting things at home, you canât bring your carry-on on the flight, etc. So, this change is a welcome one! Headed to Disney World in November? Youâre going to want to pay close attention because weâre telling you all of the rides that will be closed for refurbishment this month, and one of them is extremely popular! Tianaâs Bayou Adventure We never want you to be met with any surprises during your trip! From the Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios to Disneyâs water parks, five attractions will be closed in November. Letâs take a look at which ones. Tianaâs Bayou Adventure There is only ONE day in November when the log flume in Magic Kingdom will be open: November 1st. Starting November 2nd, Tianaâs Bayou Adventure will be closed for refurbishment and is expected to reopen sometime in December. Disney is calling this a âroutine refurbishment,â so there shouldnât be any major updates added to the attraction. Tianaâs Bayou Adventure 5 Changes Coming to Magic Kingdom Next Month Walt Disneyâs Carousel of Progress Walt Disneyâs Carousel of Progress in the Magic Kingdom has been closed for refurbishment since the beginning of July, and it will continue to be closed through 2027. This show is getting an update with new scenes from the 1960s, 1980s, the new millennium, and a possible future. The pre-show of this attraction will include a Walt Disney Audio Animatronic. At this yearâs D23 Expo, Disney announced that Bryan Cranston and Jamie Lee Curtis will be voicing the roles of Father and Mother, respectively. The original voice of Patricia, Debi Derryberry, will be returning, but in a different role â Grandmother. The attraction is slated to open in late spring 2027. Carousel of Progress Concept Art ©Disney We FINALLY Have an Update on the Carousel of Progress at Magic Kingdom Vacation Fun â An Original Animated Short with Mickey & Minnie After only being open for a month following the Annual Passholder Magnet distribution, the short in the Mickey Shorts Theater will close yet again. The attraction is slated to close on October 28th and has plans to reopen later this year. This is the third time the attraction will be closed just THIS YEAR â it was closed from April 29th through May 5th for a Star Wars May the Fourth Merchandise location, and again from August 9th through September 27th for the Annual Passholder Magnet distribution. Vacation Fun FIRST LOOK at Food Coming to Monstropolis at Hollywood Studios Slush Gusher One of Blizzard Beach Water Parkâs slides will be closed for refurbishment in November. There is a LOT going on around Disney World right now. Piston Peak is being built at Magic Kingdom, with Villains Land construction on the horizon. Construction on Tropical Americas is underway at Disneyâs Animal Kingdom, and itâs moving fast. However, we find that weâre often checking on Disneyâs Hollywood Studios the most! Hollywood Studios Hollywood Studios has had a crazy year so far! Rock ânâ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets debuted, The Magic of Disney Animation recently opened, new Mando and Grogu missions hit Smugglers Run, and the parkâs transformation isnât done just yet. Weâre going to update you on everything thatâs happening at Hollywood Studios right now, so letâs dive into it! If you have a trip planned to visit Hollywood Studios, youâll want to know itâs been oddly busy for October. Normally, itâs Magic Kingdom that sees the massive October crowds, as guests check out the fall decorations before they go away and enjoy Mickeyâs Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Nope, Hollywood is getting busy as well! The crowds are out at Hollywood Studios! Inside the park, we noticed that the new Disney World trash cans have arrived in Toy Story Land. Youâll find them by Woodyâs Lunch Box and Toy Story Mania. They have a playful and colorful design to them, which nicely fits the theme and vibe of Andyâs Backyard. New trash cans in Toy Story Land! These new solar trash cans have been popping up in all four Disney World parks for a few months now, and theyâre still coming. Instead of using your hands to push in a swinging door, you can step on the push-down bar, and it will open the trash can so you can easily throw your things away without any of the food, sauce, and other things getting on the door and creating a bigger mess throughout the day. New trash cans by Toy Story Mania Letâs move over to Monstropolis, because we know thatâs what youâre really waiting to hear about. Weâre not exaggerating when we say we check on the construction of this land EVERY SINGLE DAY. Weâre always keeping an eye out to see if anything is new or if anything has changed. In fact, right now we have our eyes out for the Glob Theater sign for the new show thatâs replacing Muppet*Vision 3D. No sign just yet! Our reporters, who go into the parks each day, actually send back a video with a thumbs down every time itâs not there. Letâs just sayâŠweâve gotten a lot of âthumbs downâ videos lately⊠Another day, another thumbs down! Other than the sign, it looks like construction has been progressing nicely. We occasionally notice new small details, like the monster scale shingles on one of the buildings. We love the little details! Speaking of construction on Monstropolis, Disney Imagineering recently filed a new Notice of Commencement permit for general construction. The address listed on the permit is 361 Cypress Drive, which is the former Stage 1 Company Store next to the building that will become the Glob Theater. ©Disney The contractor on the permit is Landscape Structures, Inc., which is a company known as a commercial playground manufacturer. Weâve seen this contractor before, as Disney is working with Landscape Structures, Inc. right now for playgrounds in the new Tropical Americas land in Animal Kingdom, Pueblo Esperanza. Theyâve also done a few temporary playgrounds for EPCOTâs festivals. The evidence is telling us that Monstropolis could be getting a playground, which is exciting! Monstropolis Entrance If you go to check out the construction, youâll see that Disney has actually built a themed merchandise cart full of Monsters, Inc. merchandise. It sits in the middle of Grand Avenue in anticipation of the new land. We actually confirmed with a Cast Member that this was built just for this. New merch cart! Thereâs a lot going on at Hollywood Studios, and we donât blame you if it can get tricky to keep up. Thatâs what weâre here for! So, make sure to follow us at the Disney Food Blog for all the latest news and updates. Ok, thereâs seriously no place weâd rather be than the Disney Adventure right now! Disney Adventure Cruise Ship After all of the exciting news that Disney dropped, our minds have been on the Disney Believe, which is the next ship coming to the Disney Cruise Line in 2027. However, weâve quickly moved our focus back over to the newest Disney cruise ship that debuted earlier this year, because the Disney Adventure just got a brand-new experience! Starting today, on October 15th, Duffy and Friends will be a part of an all-new breakfast experience at the Hollywood Spotlight Club on the Disney Adventure! The experience will offer up-close moments and a special keepsake pin, with additional pins available for purchase to complete the set. ©Disney You can book your experience on board through Guest Services on Deck 6 or the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. Reservations are required and subject to limited availability. Also be aware that additional fees apply. The dining experience will have you encounter tons of Duffy characters, but appearances are subject to change. ©Disney via Instagram If you want to take a look at a little teaser for the experience, check out the Instagram post from Disney Cruise Line. We love the Hollywood Spotlight Club! The restaurant is themed after the golden age of Hollywood, and thatâs reflected in all the incredible details. This is part of the rotational dining onboard, which sometimes means the food is good, but not as fantastic as it is at the signature restaurants that require an additional reservation. However, this totally surpasses expectations! Hollywood Spotlight Club The agents at Small World Vacations know how to save money on your Disney Vacation! When you book your trip with Small World Vacations, their experienced agents monitor your reservation for possible future savings. It might still be October, but right now is the perfect time to add to your Christmas decorations! Disney Christmas decor is magical! The holidays are right around the corner, and if youâre anything like us, youâre already plotting how to work a little more Disney into your Christmas decorating. The good news? You donât need a park ticket or a big budget to do it. We rounded up 8 Disney Christmas decorations on Amazon, and every single one is under $23. A few of them are already hanging in our own homes, so we can vouch for those firsthand. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Get the Peppermint âJoyâ Door Sign! Our own Joy sign Letâs start at the front door, since itâs the first thing your guests will see. This 3-piece Christmas Joy door sign set pairs a wooden âJoyâ sign with a peppermint candy wreath shaped like a certain famous mouse, all finished off with a bow. Itâs a Mickey-inspired piece that still reads as classic Christmas, so it fits in even if the rest of your porch isnât Disney-themed. You can hang it on the front door or on a wall inside. We own this set ourselves, so it comes with our stamp of approval! view ON AMAZON These Castle Christmas Window Clings are perfect for decorating! Christmas Window Clings If you want a lot of decorating for very little effort, these Christmas window clings are the way to go. The set comes with 9 sheets of static clings featuring a castle pattern, and they work on glass windows and doors. Theyâre double-sided, so the designs show from both inside and outside the house. Because they hold on with static instead of adhesive, you can peel them off, save them, and use them again next year. This is another one we own, and itâs an easy project to hand off to the kids. view ON AMAZON We love this 24-Piece Christmas Ball Ornaments set! Who doesnât love Disney ornaments? No Disney Christmas is complete without a themed tree, and this set of 24 Christmas ball ornaments gets you most of the way there in one box. Each ornament measures about 2.36 inches across, which is a nice size for filling in the gaps on a full-size tree or covering a smaller tabletop tree entirely. With 24 in the set, youâve got plenty to spread around. We own these too, and theyâre a quick way to give your tree a Disney look without buying ornaments one at a time. view ON AMAZON Or, you can grab this Minnie Gingerbread Cookie Soap Dish! ©Amazon The bathroom tends to get skipped when the decorations come out, but it doesnât have to. The Jay Franco Minnie Mouse Gingerbread Cookie Soap Dish turns Minnie into a gingerbread cookie, which might be the most Disney-snack-lover decoration on this list. It holds a bar of soap, and it also works as a sponge holder if youâd rather keep it next to the kitchen sink. Either way, itâs a small touch that makes a guest bathroom or kitchen feel ready for the season. view ON AMAZON Donât forget the Mickey Mouse Gingerbread Bathroom Set! ©Amazon Minnieâs not the only one getting the cookie treatment! The Jay Franco Mickey Mouse Gingerbread Bathroom Set is a 2-piece collection with a lotion pump and a soap dish, both done up in the same gingerbread style. Fill the pump with hand soap or lotion, and youâve covered the whole sink area in one purchase. If youâre picking up the Minnie soap dish above, this set makes a natural match for a second bathroom or the kitchen. view ON AMAZON Or, you can grab these Christmas Yard Signs! ©Amazon Time to take the decorating outside. This set of Christmas yard signs comes with 3 signs made for outdoor display, so you can line them along the walkway or group them together in the front yard. Yard signs are one of the fastest ways to decorate outdoors, since there are no lights to untangle and no ladder required. They also store flat once the season is over, which is a big plus if your holiday bins are already full. view ON AMAZON Donât forget to check out this Mickey and Minnie Wood Sign! ©Amazon For something a little more classic, the Disney Mickey Mouse and Minnie âSmile Itâs Christmasâ Hanging Wood Sign features Mickey and Minnie together with a cheerful holiday message. Itâs a wood sign thatâs made to hang, so it works on a wall, a door, or anywhere youâve got a spare hook. This is the kind of piece that fits in an entryway or a kitchen just as easily as the living room, and itâs a sweet pick for any Mickey and Minnie fans on your gift list. view ON AMAZON And finally, this Mickey Measuring Sign is adorable! ©Amazon Last but not least, the Disney Mickey Mouse Christmas Hanging Wood Measuring Sign puts a Christmas Mickey on a measuring-stick-style wood sign. Like the sign above, itâs made of wood and ready to hang. The two would look great displayed together if youâre building out a Mickey-themed wall or mantel for the season. view ON AMAZON And thatâs our list! Whether youâre decking out the front door, the tree, or even the bathroom sink, thereâs an easy way to add some Disney to your Christmas without spending more than $23 on any one item. Disney has collaborated with a ton of brands, people, sporting events, and more. Weâve seen Disney work with top designers like Coach and Loungefly, as well as partner with Formula 1 and Fortnite. ©Disney Disney also collaborates with celebrities on merchandise, including a brand new collection featuring Katseye. However, letâs just say that Disney and Katseye fans arenât exactly sure how they feel about this new collaboration. Letâs see what theyâre saying. KATSEYE recently surprised fans by performing a tribute to Susan Egan at the Disney Legends ceremony held during D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. Now, KATSEYE has collaborated with Disney for a brand new merchandise collection. Complex Shop recently announced the new collaboration on social media and showed off four shirts that just dropped as part of the KATSEYE x Disney collection. Hereâs what that looks like: ©Disney Fan reactions were mixed. Some thought the shirts were cute, and @Lucyy said, âthe minnie shirt with the little bow is everything to me this is exactly the kinda collab i didnt know i needed until now.â Just check out this Minnie and Figaro cropped shirt. It certainly seems to fit the KATSEYE brand. ©KATSEYE It looks like @ivorynina is planning on scoring a shirt or two from the collection: âmy wallet is in danger.â Meanwhile, other fans werenât so kind. Luffy said, âwhy do brands do these collabs like itâs just a random photo of mickey with katseye underneath. the photo has nothing to do with katseye. its so lazy.â The collection doesnât just include apparel, though. Thereâs also a pin set. We canât imagine KATSEYE and Disney fans NOT wanting to collect these. ©KATSEYE Manuel said, âThis looks like bootleg products.â Ouch. Doll agreed, âIâm crying they didnât even try to make these shirts cute.â @ADDition agreed and posted, âGurl this looks ugly. They just slapped on 2 png pictures and called it a day.â Thereâs even a fun Mickey and Minnie tote. ©KATSEYE Whether you love it or hate it, the new collection is available now on the Complex website. Meanwhile, weâll keep an eye out for more new Disney merchandise, so stay tuned to DFB for more. We recently claimed that no one is doing souvenirs like Dollywood, and weâre standing by that statement! Dollywood You obviously know that weâre massive Disney World fans, and with that, you know that weâre avid popcorn bucket collectors! While Disney World popcorn buckets are truly one-of-a-kind, Dollywood may be giving them a run for their money with this brand-new holiday popcorn bucket thatâs dropping next month. Dollywood recently posted on social media that youâll soon be able to take a âlittle piece of Dollywoodâs Smoky Mountain Christmas magicâ home with you. It comes in the form of this Robert F. Thomas Chapel popcorn bucket, which will be arriving for the holiday season and available for pre-purchase online starting November 2nd! ©Dollywood via Instagram If youâre a Dollywood Passholder, youâre going to get to be first in line for this souvenir! Dollywood noted that Passholder renewal has officially begun for the 2027 Season Pass, and as an added perk, Passholders get first access to the exclusive popcorn bucket TODAY as well. ©Dollywood via Instagram This popcorn has a nostalgic, home-like Christmas feel to it. You canât help but think about those cozy Christmas nights as the snow falls. The popcorn bucket fits a good amount of popcorn, and it has a gorgeous light-up feature. Lights cover the exterior and the interior. Yep, weâve decided that this is a souvenir we are definitely grabbing! ©Dollywood via Instagram Weâre not the only ones who are obsessed with this new popcorn bucket. One comment on Instagram from @fairygodkatie said, âI have never needed a popcorn bucket more than I need this one.â @itscarlyneil commented, âhere is the church!! here is the steeple!! open the doorsâŠAND EAT ALL THE POPCORN.â We also saw a comment from @dannymac013 saying, âThatâs too pretty for a popcorn bucketâ, and you know what, that might be true! Dollywood Like we said before, Dollywood has been killing the souvenir game. We recently brought up how much we loved the Cinnamon Bread Bubble Wand that the theme park dropped. Itâs got what looks like a loaf of Cinnamon Bread on top, and it has an adorable face. Unlike normal bubbles, the bubbles that come out of this wand smell like cinnamon! Basically, what weâre telling you is this souvenir is both a walking bubble machine and a cinnamon bread aroma machine. ©Dollywood Dollywood is known for its iconic Cinnamon Bread. In fact, weâve claimed itâs the best $13 weâve ever spent at a theme park. Thatâs how incredible a snack it is! So, we loved the fact that they made a souvenir based on one of our favorite theme park snacks of all time. ©Dollywood We may be all about Disney, but we also absolutely adore Dollywood. So, make sure to follow us at Disney Food Blog for all the latest theme park news and updates. Everything Dollywood Gets Right That Disney World Gets WRONG Want to know more about Dollywood? If youâre into nonsense, shenanigans, or malarkey, boy do I have a story for you! Welcome back to Tiny Train Town! Iâm the unofficial official mayor of the Tiny Train Town in EPCOTâs Germany Pavilion, and those little guys who live there get themselves into some serious trouble on the weekly. We love to report on their happenings and share them with our followers, and today I have an all-new update for you! Starting out our report this week, there was an unfortunate train incident with one of the new dining cars that have begun traversing the town. One such train fell off the tracks after taking a sharp curve. After our investigation, it was determined that every passenger who boarded the train sat on the right side of the car that day. Come on guys, itâs basic physics â you have to balance your weight on either side of the car when you board! *shakes head disapprovingly* Also, what were you guys doing, filling up tables with strangers when there were plenty of empty tables on the opposite side of the car? Do you know no social etiquette at all?! Just like on planes, not everyone wants to spend their entire commute conversing with someone theyâve never met. Tsk, tsk. Not AGAIN! Our next order of business is to welcome the townâs newest resident, Doreen! Doreen has just entered retirement after a 40-year career as a secretary at a law office. She moved here from America (it may just be two pavilions away, but itâs a long trek when youâre this tiny) and sheâs excited to live a quiet and cozy life with her five cats and three pet geese. Whoâs going to tell her that life here isnât exactly quiet? Nose goes! Everyone say âHi Doreen!â Of course, perhaps the most exciting news weâve had about our village in a while is that thereâs a NEW ICE CREAM STAND. Yep, thatâs right! The center of town was once the hub of crime and villainy and now itâs a hub for tasty treats and fun live entertainment. The villagers have been taking well to the new food booths for the Food & Wine Festival, and I know theyâre going to be simply delighted by what the holiday season has to offer in the coming months. More sweet treats, perhaps?! I scream, you scream! And you know by now as a Disney fan that thereâs pretty much NO place in Disney World that goes without construction projects. They seem to touch every corner of the property, and now theyâre here in Tiny Train Town, too! Iâve been supervising these guys for a couple of weeks and they havenât made much progress so far. At this rate, whatever theyâre working on is going to take longer to build than TRON Lightcycle / Run. Construction?! Thanks for coming along with me to Tiny Train Town! If youâre interested in more fun details in Disney World, check out the video below to see details that people miss during their Disney World visits. * The anarchy within is mostly created by natural occurrences, like giant squirrels, wind, rain, and relatively godzilla-sized lizards who frequent the town; but we find it fun and entertaining to make up fictional stories about what COULD be happening. We are grateful to the folks who create and maintain this Tiny Train Town for Disney World, as itâs one of our favorite parts of EPCOT and always has been. For Alexandra, a safari wasnât just a trip. It was her ultimate wish. And with support from Make-A-Wish and National Geographic Expeditions, it became a reality. Alexandraâs Journey For as long as she can remember, Alexandra has been fascinated by wildlife and the natural world. Inspiration came from many places, including conservationist Jane Goodall, whom she met as a child and has admired ever since. As her passion for this work grew, she began putting it into action, securing an internship in Alaska the summer before her senior year of high school, where she planted native trees, removed invasive plants, and helped develop environmental education programs for kids. Alexandra was diagnosed with cancer and during her treatment in the hospital, her care team approached her with an opportunity to have a wish granted by Make-A-Wish, sparking an adventure of a lifetime. When asked what her heartfelt wish was, the answer came easily. She wanted to see wildlife up close and conservation efforts at work. The excitement only grew when Alexandra learned her safari would be granted on a National Geographic Journey with G Adventures trip in Africa. For someone who grew up reading National Geographic magazines and learning from the National Geographic Explorers, it felt full circle. âWhen I was little, I used to look at the Nat Geo Explorers and think, âOh my gosh, I want to do thatâ⊠Whenever I read the magazines, I would always look at the pictures and think how gorgeous the world is and how important it is to protect all the natural resources and wildlife,â Alexandra remembers. âYeah, I think it (National Geographic) really gave me a deep appreciation for the world and all of its natural resources.â An Unforgettable Adventure On the trip, Alexandra saw the lessons she had studied in the classroom demonstrated in real life. From learning alongside local guides and conservationists to watching wildlife in its natural habitat, Alexandra witnessed conservation efforts at scale and making an impact. Among the many unforgettable moments from Alexandraâs trip, one memory stood out. âWe waited by this watering hole, and all the elephants came walking toward us. For about 30 minutes, they were playing in the water, splashing each other, and rolling around in the mud,â she recalled. âThey were so close. It was unbelievable.â âItâs been kind of crazy going from laying in a hospital bed to being in Africa,â Alexandra added. Just as memorable as the wildlife and scenery were the connections Alexandra formed along the way. âEvery single person that we met was just the kindest person you will ever meet,â she shared. âEveryone was just so friendly and so open to learning about our lives and so willing to share about their lives.â Alexandra shared that her and her mom made friends with so many people that they hope to stay in touch with forever, including their field guide, Uncle Philly, who they hope to visit again one day when they return to Africa. The Lasting Impact of a Wish Alexandraâs wish was more than an unforgettable journey. It was an opportunity to see her passion for conservation in a new way and to imagine where it could take her next. âThis experience confirmed that Iâm meant to do wildlife and environmental conservation,â revealed Alexandra. âI think thatâs my lifeâs purpose, no doubt.â Itâs the kind of next generation passion and purpose that Disney and National Geographic are committed to nurturing. A portion of all National Geographic Expedition trips are donated back to the National Geographic Society to fund a variety of research and conservation projects. Itâs the same spirit championed by the Disney Conservation Fund, which helps inspire young people to connect with nature, take action for wildlife, and become the next generation of conservation leaders. Since 1995, the fund has supported 600 nonprofit organizations working to protect more than 1,000 species of wildlife across half the countries in the world and all five oceans. And with Alexandra, these values are already taking root. Alexandra is entering her senior year in high school with dreams to study environmental science and biology in college and the goal of becoming a wildlife biologist. She wants to conduct field research that can help inform policies protecting nature and wildlife, and later pursue her Ph.D. For more than 45 years, Disney and Make-A-Wish have worked together to create moments of joy and hope for children and families, granting more than 175,000 wishes around the world. Pin trading is one of those Disney World traditions that sounds simple, but suddenly itâs been making waves in the Disney community, and fans have a lot to say about it. Pin trading at EPCOT You put on a lanyard, spot a pin you love, make a trade, and walk away with a tiny souvenir and a good story. But spend a few minutes around the traders in Disney World, and youâll see it isnât always that simple anymore. So I read 150 comments on pin trading videos and posts to find out how fans really feel about it. It turns out the pins arenât the problem. First, a little background. EPCOT is the main pin trading hub in Disney World, and large groups of traders gather in the covered breezeway between Connections Cafe and Creations Shop, spreading binders and pin sets across the benches. Some fans call it pin squatting. That breezeway is also one of the best shady places to sit at the front of the park, so things get crowded fast. Trading at the breezeway Disneyland dealt with the same issue and changed its rules back in May, banning pins from being displayed on benches, chairs, and tables. Disney World hasnât made that change, and we recently asked whether EPCOT could be next. So the debate here is still wide open. New rules The frustrated fans did not hold back. âI love pin trading, but you wonât catch me here LOL these people have made this a competitive sport,â one commenter wrote. Another missed the way the area used to feel: âI remember being able to sit out there with my coffee in the morning. Too bad Disney turned it into a cheap swap meetâŠâ And one person went all the way: âPin trading should be banned if you are over the age of 12.â It can get crowded! That swap meet comparison showed up closer to home, too. DFB reader Matt told us he wants pin trading banned in the EPCOT breezeway and said it now has the feel of a flea market. His bottom line? âPin trading should be a hobby, not an income stream.â That lines up with a recent TikTok from @abigailfaithfoster, who said a trader refused to trade with her until each of her pins had been looked up on eBay for its price. Pin trading at EPCOT Hereâs what surprised me, though. Some of the harshest words came from people who love the hobby. After Disneyland cracked down on its own bench traders, one fan wrote, âThose bench squatters were giving us all a bad name.â Pin Trading in EPCOT Another fan reacting to the traders said: âThe scammer pin traders have really ruined it for everyone.â That same person added that they always trade with kids in line, even when the pin theyâre giving up is worth more, because seeing a kidâs face light up is what pin trading is supposed to be about. These fans arenât mad at pin trading. Theyâre mad at what some traders have done to it. Showing off our pins And plenty of fans have had nothing but good experiences. âMost of the traders are SO nice, and 90% of the experiences Iâve had have been positive,â one commenter shared. Another agreed: âIâve never had a bad experience; theyâve all been nice to meâŠâ DFB reader Essie has been trading since it started back in 1999 and 2000, and she told us sheâs had many nice experiences and met many nice people and Cast Members along the way. And as weâve pointed out before, there are traders who will make a trade that doesnât benefit them just to help someone complete a mystery set. Pin trading board Then thereâs the middle ground. âI donât Pin Trade, but I donât have a problem with Pin Traders,â one fan wrote, which might be the calmest take on the internet. Another summed up the whole debate in one line: âThere is certainly a love/hate relationship here with the pin trading culture.â So how do fans really feel about pin trading in Disney World? After 150 comments, hereâs where I landed: people still love pin trading. What frustrates them is the squatting, the benches they canât sit on, and the feeling that a fun hobby has turned into a business for some. At the same time, a lot of fans think the big trading scene is part of the fun and say most traders are kind. Pin trading Disney World hasnât changed its rules, but with Disneyland already cracking down, itâs something weâre watching closely. If the breezeway isnât your scene, you can always trade with Cast Members and the pin boards around the parks. Weâll keep an eye out for any changes, so stay tuned to DFB for the latest! Weâve shelled out the BIG bucks at The Cake Bake Shop in Disney World, and people love to ask usâŠis it worth it?! The Cake Bake Shop Bakery! This restaurant is known for having high prices, but the vibes are simply stunning. If itâs out of the budget to do a full meal here, we like to recommend stopping by the bakery next door to grab a few of their sweet treats. They may be pricey, but thereâs also a chance that you could find the BEST treat of your vacation here. And weâve got a new contender! We stopped by The Cake Bake Shop Bakery to try out the returning Pumpkin Spice Cinnamon Roll Cake for $22 a slice! Itâs rather massive â six layers of pumpkin ginger ckae with cinnamon sugar, cream cheese filling, vanilla buttercream, crystallized ginger, and a little white chocolate pumpkin on top. We had this one last year (minus the little pumpkin) and it was so spectacular we knew we had to come back and snag it again. Sheâs a beaut! Unfortunately, the little pumpkin pal on top of the cake came rolling around inside the to-go box instead of on top, but we were able to reattach him for photos (poor lil fella!). But let us tell youâŠthat cake was YUMMY. Itâs moist, thick, and lightly spiced with a consistency that reminded us of pumpkin bread. There are pieces of ginger scattered throughout that add little bursts of spice and really level up the flavors. Our slice! Overall itâs incredibly autumnal in flavor with cinnamon and the crystallized ginger coming through most prominently. That cinnamon, paired with the cream cheese filling, creates the cinnamon roll flavor. Itâs really the best of both worlds in that regard. Like pumpkin bread and a cinnamon roll had a ginger-spiced baby! Look at those layers! The cream cheese and the vanilla buttercream help balance out the spices so itâs not too overpowering, but if you love a warm and cozy fall treat, this will be right up your alley. Itâs quite rich and very shareable. Also, itâs on the regular menu (not listed as the monthly flavor) so weâre hoping it stays around for a little while. The pumpkin and the frosting on top. This wouldnât be for you if you dislike strongly spiced treats or the punchiness of ginger, but we have a feeling itâs going to be fairly popular with everyone else. This bakery has a wide variety of treats in general, so itâs high on our must-try list during your visit. A bite of the cake. Heading to Disney World soon or wanting to plan a trip? Depending on where you want to stay at the hotel, there is a perfect room for every guest traveling to Disney World. Looking to be closest to the lobby? Thereâs a room for that. How about farthest away from the elevators? Theyâve got that, too! And if youâd like to be a short walk away from the pool? Donât worry â thereâs a room for everything! Disneyâs Grand Floridian Resort We recently stopped by Disneyâs Grand Floridian Resort & Spa to see which rooms are the best, so you donât have to! Come check it out so you know which rooms to request on your next visit! Disneyâs Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is located on Seven Seas Lagoon and is just a monorail or boat ride, or a short walk away from the Magic Kingdom. This resort is one of Disneyâs Deluxe resorts, offering great views of and close proximity to the park, signature dining locations, and special perks for guests, like Extended Evening Hours. Grand Floridian Resort & Spa The main building is home to a lot of these dining locations, including Grand Floridian Cafe, 1900 Park Fare, Citricos, Victoria & Albertâs, and more! This is also where youâll find the quick-service dining location, the lounges, the gift shops, and the transportation to the parks and Disney Springs. If staying as close to these locations as possible, youâll want to request rooms 4201 to 4209, 4301 to 4330, and 4401 to 4430. The suites located in this area are room numbers 4001 to 4008 and 4021 to 4030. Main Building Map If youâre looking for a little more quiet (since the lobby can be quite loud), but still want quick access to the main building, rooms 8119 and 8121 are a great option! This room is located directly across from the entrance to the main building, and the quiet pool is located just outside! In terms of transportation, itâs most closely located to the boat launch. Room 8119 Both of these rooms are located on the ground floor and have a great view of the Magic Kingdom! They also have small balconies that jut out from the building, and since they are facing away from the hustle and bustle of the resort, itâs a little more private. Look at this view! Disney Vacation Club Members will likely be staying in the Big Pine Key building. The rooms most closely located to the main building and right across from the quiet pool are rooms 9119 and 9121. Staying here will also give you great views of the Polynesian Village Resort. Room 9119 Guest rooms 6101 to 6424 will be located in the Sugar Loaf building. While these rooms arenât a far walk from the main building or the quiet pool, the views arenât as good as the other rooms above. Youâll likely be seeing the marina, another building of the resort, or the quiet pool. If views donât matter to you, request these rooms, but if youâre hoping for views of the Magic Kingdom or the Polynesian Resort across Seven Seas Lagoon, weâd recommend requesting other rooms. Sugar Loaf Building Rooms 5141, 5144, and 5145 are a bit of a longer walk from the main building but have close access to the quiet pool and great views of the Magic Kingdom. These are located at the end of the hallway on the first floor. Room 5141 A short walk past the building with these rooms is the Conch Key building. This building offers a conveniently short walk to the Magic Kingdom boat launch and quiet pool. Rooms 7127, 7130, and 7131 offer views of Magic Kingdom directly across the water. These rooms are also located at the end of the hallway, but for this view, the extra few steps to the main building are worth it! Room 7131 The Disney Vacation Club Villas offer their own arrival area, so you can easily drive up, drop off your luggage, and head to your room almost immediately. No need for long walks when it comes to your check-in and check-out days. This building is reasonably close to the main building and is adjacent to the main pool. Itâs also directly across the water from the Magic Kingdom. Grand Floridian Villas Room 1101 looks out toward Seven Seas Lagoon while rooms 1102 and 1104 face toward the Polynesian Resort. Although itâs directly across the water from the Magic Kingdom, staying in these rooms wonât guarantee a view of the park, as the island in the middle of Seven Seas Lagoon may block the view. Room 1101 If youâre looking to request these rooms, you have a couple of options: You can call ahead and ask a Cast Member to put a note in, but weâve found the best way to do it is at the front desk when you arrive at the hotel. Remember, your request is NOT guaranteed, and even if it does get granted, you may need to wait a bit longer for the room to be ready. But it doesnât hurt to ask! If you love video games (and even if you donât), youâve probably spent some time with Disney video games like Kingdom Hearts (which is so popular, itâs getting an animated series), Epic Mickey, Dreamlight Valley, and more. ©Epic Games Well, Disney has partnered with Epic Games on a new shooter with characters from Marvel and Star Wars, but that game has been delayed. As a result, according to Bloomberg, Epic Games is urging the development team to use AI to complete it. Although there arenât a lot of other details available about the new game, it had been scheduled for a release in March 2027. However, that date has been pushed back, with no new date announced. Granted, this often happens with video game development, but Epic Games is now reportedly putting pressure on its developers to use an âAI firstâ production model by using tools such as Anthropicâs Claude. An internal message sent to staff reportedly said that developers should use âno more hand-written code.â The gameâs director added that all art for the game would be generated with AI. Dreamlight Valley ©Disney The use of generative AI in games has already become a source of controversy for both developers and gamers. Both groups have loudly criticized content created with AI and argue that AI content is lower quality. In general, both groups also believe itâs bad for the video game industry as a whole. According to The Washington Post, protests over AI usage in games have even resulted in canceled projects, as well as rescinded awards. ©Amazon Epic Games, which is also the company behind Fortnite, posted to its website earlier this year that it had laid off more than 1,000 employees. Many in the industry argue that whatâs needed to develop a game and deliver it on time requires more staff and less AI, though. If development on this game continues using AI, the game itself could face serious backlash from the other developers, critics, and consumers. Weâll keep an eye on the situation and post updates, so stay tuned to DFB for more. Are You Smarter Than a 1990 Disney Video Game? Do you have questions about Disney World? When we think of lounges in Disney World, thereâs one that almost always lands at the very top of our list, and just the thought of it has us craving the menu for days on end. Nomad Lounge in Disneyâs Animal Kingdom Nomad Lounge in Disneyâs Animal Kingdom is one of the lounges we recommend time and time again, and each time we visit, we find ourselves drawn towards the idea of delicious churros (yes, in Disney World, what a shocker) and the unique drinks youâll discover at this spot. However, Disney recently announced a pretty big change coming to this lounge, and we know some of you have some questions about it. Donât worry, weâre here to go over everything you need to know! It was just announced that Nomad Lounge will soon begin taking advance dining reservations for the first time ever, as a new Annual Passholder perk will be added to the lounge beginning on October 20th. This new perk will allow Annual Passholders to order two small plates and two beverages for just $49, which is a fantastic deal! Nomad Lounge With this change, though, come a lot of questions about how Nomad Lounge will function with these new reservations. Weâve got all the answers for you right here. Will Reservations Be Available For Non-Passholders? From what we understand from what Disney has released so far, the answer seems to be yes! While reservations will not be required for this spot, as the walk-up waitlist will still be available, they will be recommended. Weâre expecting part of the lounge to potentially be seating for reservations only, but we wonât have clarification on that until those begin on November 8th. Nomad Lounge If you know you want to dine at this spot during your upcoming vacation, we do recommend looking to make a reservation, as we have a feeling this Annual Passholder offering is going to be very popular. Can Non-Passholders Take Advantage Of The Meal Deal? Unfortunately, no. If youâre not an Annual Passholder, you wonât be able to take advantage of the $49 deal for 2 small plates and 2 beverages. This deal is exclusively for Annual Passholders, who will need to prove their Passholder status by showing their Annual Pass. Annual Pass The regular menu, which features the same items, will still be available for all guests, so you donât need to worry about certain drinks or food items not being available. Youâll just be paying the regular prices. Do I NEED A Reservation? Not at all! Again, while reservations are going to be recommended because of the expected popularity of this new Annual Passholder offering, not to mention that weâre in one of the busiest times of year in Disney World, they wonât be required. Nomad Lounge Do we recommend grabbing one? If you know you want to dine here, then yes, absolutely. But weâve also had great luck with the walk-up waitlist here in the past, seeing as that was the only option for as long as this spotâs been open (up until this new offering, that is), so you may find yourself having some great luck. It can never hurt to check! What Items Are Available As Part Of The $49 Deal? While Disney hasnât yet released the full menu (which weâll absolutely be sharing with you when this perk starts on October 20th!), we do know that the following items will be included in the deal: Chinese Five-Spice Glazed Chicken Wings Travellerâs Provisions (warm roasted Naan Bread with a trio of dips) Wild Mushroom Dumplings Leaping Lizard (alcoholic) Hibiscus Henna (nonalcoholic) Chinese Five-Spice Glazed Chicken Wings Disney has also mentioned that the Charcuterie, Cheese Board, and select beverages will NOT be part of the deal, but an exhaustive list hasnât yet been released. Weâll be sure to update you the moment we have it! What About Before November 8th? While the $49 Passholder menu begins on October 20th, reservations for Nomad Lounge wonât open up until November 8th. You can officially start making reservations on October 28th for November 8th and beyond. Anyone wanting to experience the Passholder exclusive deal from October 20th-November 7th will need to walk up. Nomad Lounge lunch So, for anyone planning to snag a spot, we recommend getting to the lounge as early in the day as possible to get your name on that list. Thatâs the best chance youâll have of making sure you can dine there during the day! Can I Use The New Annual Passholder Deal After Sitting Down To Eat? Letâs say you donât know about the Annual Passholder deal until after youâve just been seated, so you didnât know about it when booking. Can you still use the deal? To our knowledge, the answer is yes, BUT you canât combine it with the regular Annual Passholder discount at this lounge. Tropical Rainbow Cocktail Itâs our understanding that, as long as you show your Annual Pass card physically or on the My Disney Experience App before you order, then yes, you can still take advantage of the $49 deal. However, weâll be getting final confirmation on this when we dine here on October 20th, so be sure to stay tuned! Some Disney World restaurants offer Annual Passholder discounts, and itâs important to remember, though, that there is NOT a 10-20% discount at this spot, so the $49 deal will be the only one available. In the meantime, do you want to see what eating at Nomad Lounge is like? Check out our video below! Weâll be sure to keep you updated on all the latest Disney World news, so stay tuned to DFB! Dollywood is trying something completely new this Halloween, and Disney fans may find the format VERY familiar. ©Dollywood For the first time ever, Dollywood is hosting a separately ticketed, after-hours Halloween event! Itâs called Harveyâs Boo Bash, and the first party happens this week. And we have everything you need to know! Based on everything Dollywood has announced so far, this sounds much closer to Mickeyâs Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Disney World than Universalâs Halloween Horror Nights. That is either excellent news or disappointing news, depending on how much you enjoy being chased through fog by someone holding a chainsaw. Harveyâs Boo Bash Is Brand New Harveyâs Boo Bash is Dollywoodâs first-ever separately ticketed after-hours special event. It takes place on October 16th, 23rd, and 30th, 2026, after Dollywoodâs regular Harvest Festival day ends. The exclusive party runs from 9 PM until midnight, although Boo Bash tickets currently allow guests to enter Dollywood beginning at 4 PM. ©Dollywood That means you can spend the afternoon enjoying Dollywoodâs Harvest Festival and Great Pumpkin LumiNights before the park shifts into its exclusive Boo Bash festivities later that night. Only a limited number of tickets are being sold for each event, too, so youâll want to grab them while you can! Think Candy and Characters, Not Chainsaws The biggest thing to know about Harveyâs Boo Bash is the tone. Dollywood is very clearly selling this as a family-friendly Halloween party. Guests will find candy-collecting stations, special character meet-and-greets, dance parties, exclusive snacks and merchandise, and access to select Dollywood rides after dark. Harvey and other Dollywood characters will also be dressed for the occasion. That makes this feel much closer to Disney Worldâs Mickeyâs Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, where the emphasis is on trick-or-treating, characters, costumes, themed entertainment, and riding Magic Kingdom attractions after dark. ©Dollywood Universal Orlandoâs Halloween Horror Nights lives at the other end of the Halloween spectrum. HHN currently features 10 haunted houses, scare zones, horror characters, and deliberately intense scares, and Universal warns that the event may be too intense for younger children and does not recommend it for kids under 13. Harveyâs Boo Bash? You get a candy bag; thatâs a very different evening. You CAN Wear a Costume Hereâs another major clue about the kind of Halloween party Dollywood is building. Guests can wear costumes during Harveyâs Boo Bash, but Dollywood has released a full set of costume guidelines guests must follow. That again puts the event closer to Mickeyâs Not-So-Scary Halloween Party territory than Halloween Horror Nights. Universal generally does not permit costumes or costume masks during regular Halloween Horror Nights event nights. @Marisharuthie So, if your ideal Halloween evening involves dressing up, collecting candy, and riding roller coasters after dark instead of wondering what is hiding behind the next wall, Dollywood appears to know exactly who it is talking to. Thereâs A LOT Included With Your Ticket Harveyâs Boo Bash tickets cost $129.99 plus tax for guests ages 4 and older, with a $5 discount available to eligible Gold and Diamond Passholders. Your admission includes more than just access to the event. Guests receive a complimentary candy bag for the treat trails, an exclusive commemorative cup with free soda refills, and complimentary themed kettle korn. There will also be special character experiences, dance parties, event-exclusive food and merchandise, and select rides operating during the party. Sign us up! NightFlight Expedition Dollywood has specifically confirmed that NightFlight Expedition, the parkâs huge new 2026 attraction, will be available during Harveyâs Boo Bash. Limited attendance could also mean shorter waits for some of those attractions, although weâll need to see how the first event actually operates before we know what the crowds look like. Great Pumpkin LumiNights Is Part of the Fun Harveyâs Boo Bash isnât replacing Dollywoodâs existing fall celebration. Dollywoodâs Harvest Festival continues through October 31st, and after dark, Great Pumpkin LumiNights fills the park with more than 12,000 pumpkins, illuminated displays, and seasonal entertainment. During Boo Bash nights, guests attending the party will be able to keep enjoying that nighttime atmosphere after regular park guests leave. And this may be one of the eventâs biggest strengths. The Wildwood Tree is all lit up! Dollywood already knows how to do cozy fall very well. Instead of turning the entire park into something aggressively scary after dark, Harveyâs Boo Bash seems designed to take the existing glowing-pumpkin atmosphere and add candy, characters, exclusive entertainment, and later ride time. Dollywood Is Entering a VERY Competitive Halloween Market Theme park Halloween events are BIG business. Disney has Mickeyâs Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Universal has Halloween Horror Nights. Dollywood has already built a popular fall season around Harvest Festival and Great Pumpkin LumiNights, but Harveyâs Boo Bash is the first time the park has turned that season into its own limited-capacity, separately ticketed nighttime party. Wildwood Grove The park is leaning into something that makes much more sense for the Dollywood audience: Characters, treats, fall decorations, music, nighttime rides, and Halloween fun that doesnât require checking behind you every six seconds. Dollywood! Basically, if Mickeyâs Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and a Tennessee fall festival had a pumpkin-covered cousin, we may have just met it. Harveyâs Boo Bash officially kicks off October 16th, with additional events happening October 23rd and October 30th. There are some wild Disney rumors swirling around on the internet right now, and weâre here to set the record straight! Magic Kingdom at Disney World Weâre deep into the Disney side of the internet, so we see some truly out-there stories about the Disney parks, the Disney company, and everything in between. And when those rumors get spread? Everyone is misinformed and confused! So thatâs why weâre here to set the record straight on some Disney rumors that are spreading across the internet this week. Facial Recognition Entrances in Disney World? Kicking off our list this week, there has been a rumor that Disney World will soon implement facial recognition technology and automatic gates at park entrances, much like Disneyland Resort. Disneyland introduced entrances with facial recognition technology in 2025 and more recently expanded the offering. Disneyland signage Weâve seen similar technology used at Universal Orlando, so itâs not out of the realm of possibility that it could come to Disney World in the future. When it was implemented in Disneyland, the goal was to decrease the amount of ticket scamming and to speed up the process of park entry. Disney World hasnât made any announcements about it coming to the parks, but weâll keep this on the radar just in case. See the New Rules Disneyland Is Enforcing Disney PhotoPass Using AI? Are PhotoPass photographers in Disney parks about to start using AI on your pictures? Well, this one comes into the realm of possibly. The rumor currently is Disney filed for a patent for technology that would remove unwanted people from the background of pictures using AI, and that much is TRUE. PhotoPass Studio Disney filed the patent on October 6th and the models in the patent show a computer-implemented method removing âobstructionsâ from the background by splitting the photo into segments. Now, Disney hasnât officially announced where or how this technology would be implemented, but the patent DOES describe a scenario for use in a theme park, since many photo spots include large crowds in the background of pictures. The patent notes that current methods of editing crowds out of photos are time-consuming, and that this technology could speed up the process on the back end. Learn About Another AI-Related Disney Patent Here! Mobile Ordering at a Fan Favorite Restaurant? If youâve been around DFB for a minute, you know we LOVE Nomad Lounge at Animal Kingdom, which is attached to Tiffins. This lounge space is laid back, relaxing, and has some of the best eats in the entire park. And now you can Mobile Order from here! Nomad Lounge Churros The option appeared on the Disney World app a few days ago, but now itâs officially live! So if you tried it in the past week or so and it didnât work, no worries â this was NOT a rumor, it was just in development. Currently, the only item available for Mobile Order are the ChurrosâŠwhich, tbh, are Nomad Loungeâs standout menu item anyway. Theyâre served with vanilla crema and apple butter and they are gluten-free! Learn More About This Option Here! A Popular Bar Is Closing? And finally, we have to address the rumor that the beloved Rose & Crown Pub at EPCOT is closing. Folks absolutely LOVE this spot and it has a cult following of Disney Adults and Annual PassholdersâŠso is it shutting down? Not permanently! Rose & Crown Starting on January 11th, 2027, Rose & Crown Dining Room and Pub will be closing TEMPORARILY for a refurbishment. These spaces are scheduled to reopen later in 2027, though no specific reopening date has been announced. We know this is a popular spot for folks to visit during their EPCOT trip, so weâll be on the lookout for any alternate dining options available during the closure. Learn More About the Closure Here!
