EPCOT has never been short on dining options that double as experiences. Grilled Snapper From the global flavors around World Showcase to the character breakfasts and themed sit-downs scattered through, EPCOT’s restaurants are often just as much a draw as the park’s rides. Some of these spots have become bucket-list dining destinations, not necessarily because the food is unforgettable, but because of the atmosphere that surrounds every bite. That’s exactly the case for one of the park’s most unique restaurants, and unfortunately, we’ve got some closure news to share about it. The Coral Reef Restaurant, tucked inside the Seas Pavilion at EPCOT, is set to temporarily close on September 8th. If you’ve never dined here, Coral Reef’s biggest draw isn’t what’s on the menu — it’s what’s on the other side of the glass. The restaurant is lined with panoramic windows that look directly into the massive aquarium at The Seas with Nemo & Friends, meaning you can watch sharks, rays, sea turtles, and countless fish glide by while you eat. It’s one of the most distinctive dining setups in all of Walt Disney World, and it’s part of why the restaurant has held onto such a loyal following over the years. Coral Reef Restaurant As for why Coral Reef is closing, Disney hasn’t given us a clear answer. There’s no official reason listed alongside the closure, and no reopening date has been announced either — Disney has only said the restaurant is expected to return later in 2026. That leaves a pretty wide window of uncertainty for anyone hoping to plan a visit. Coral Reef This wouldn’t be the first adjustment Coral Reef has seen this year. Back in January, the restaurant shifted to a reduced, dinner-only schedule, cutting lunch service entirely starting January 4th. Since then, Coral Reef has only been open from 4 PM to 9 PM daily. Disney never clarified whether that reduced schedule was a temporary test or a permanent shift, and now, with this closure looming, it’s fair to wonder if the two are connected. It’s very possible this is simply a routine refurbishment — restaurants close for maintenance all the time, and Coral Reef is due for some updates. But given the schedule change earlier this year, it’s also possible this closure is another step in some larger plan Disney has for the space. Right now, Disney has not clarified. Surf and Turf If we’re being honest, Coral Reef’s food has never been the main reason to visit — it’s long been more about the setting than the menu. So while we wait to see what this closure brings, we’re hoping Disney uses the downtime for more than just structural upkeep. A menu refresh that finally matches the quality of the atmosphere would go a long way toward making Coral Reef as memorable on the plate as it is through the glass. Coral Reef Restaurant If you had your hopes set on dining at Coral Reef from September 8th or later, you’ll want to make other plans, at least for now. We’ll be watching closely for any updates from Disney about a reopening date or the reason behind the closure, so keep an eye on DFB for the latest as soon as we know more. Spooky season has arrived at Magic Kingdom, and now fall treats are popping up at other parks around Disney World! What’s this?! We recently went to Disney’s Hollywood Studios because we heard about a new treat that had arrived for the Halloween season, and it sounded scary good! As avid Disney food lovers, you know we couldn’t wait to go grab it. Of course, we also couldn’t go eating it and not tell you all our thoughts. One of our favorite quick-service dining spots at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is Woody’s Lunch Box in Toy Story Land. They have some great lunchtime options, frozen drinks, and sweet treats. You’ll find it located across from Alien Swirling Saucers and beside Toy Story Mania. Woody’s Lunch Box The dining spot often gets new tarts every once in a while, and the place rarely misses. When Toy Story 5 released in theatres, Woody’s Lunch Box actually dropped a Lilypad-themed tart for the summer! They also dropped a 4th of July tart for the holiday. Well, now that spooky season is here, a brand-new tart has arrived. Something new is here! The new treat is called the Pumpkin Lunch Box Tart! It’s a pumpkin pie-filled pastry topped with marshmallow fondant, Halloween sprinkles, marshmallows, and a chocolate jack-o’-lantern. You can grab the new treat for $5.29. Pumpkin Lunch Box Tart The tart had a classic flaky pie crust filled with just enough pumpkin spice filling to really get the flavors of all the spices. We really appreciated that it’s not too cinnamon-forward. In fact, the treat is really well balanced. The icing on the outside is a classic icing, and it isn’t overpowering whatsoever. Here it is! We really enjoyed this treat! The pumpkin has just enough of that autumnal warmth of spices that you would associate with a really good pumpkin pie at Thanksgiving. It’s not really sweet even though it’s basically a Pop-Tart. The marshmallows were soft and added a reminiscent taste of the classic side dish of sweet potato, as far as the bites that had marshmallow go. This was so good! We’re telling you, every time a new tart drops at Woody’s Lunch Box, you have to make a trip over there. It’s so worth it, and this one is just another delicious treat to add to its resume. Halloween season has officially arrived in Disney World, and we’ve been to the first Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party of the year. We got to check out everything the party offers, including special entertainment, special food, and trick-or-treating. Allergy-friendly trick or treating location However, for some, the trick-or-treating experience has changed this year. If you’re trick-or-treating for allergy-friendly treats, the process is now a lot more convenient and easier, and we think you’re going to love it. So let’s talk about it. In the past, if you needed to go allergy-friendly with the trick-or-treating at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, you picked up a teal treat bag, and when Cast Members at treat trails saw it, they would give you a teal token. So instead of candy, you would collect the tokens if you had the teal treat bag. Then, you traded in your tokens at one of two allergy-friendly locations to receive allergy-friendly treats. Token Well, that has changed. Now, you just go to the allergy-friendly locations directly, and Cast Members just give you the candy right there. There are two locations: one at Merchant of Venus and another at the Liberty Square ticket office. You’ll see a sign outside of each location indicating that it’s an allergy-friendly experience. Allergy-friendly treat location You no longer have to go through individual treat trails to get the tokens. You’ll still get a full bag of treats, but they’ll all be allergy-friendly. Allergy-Friendly trick-or-treating There’s also a really good variety of allergy-friendly treats, including YumEarth ChocoYums Chocolate Candies, YumEarth Gummy Bears, YumEarth Organic Pops, Sugar-Free Werther’s Apple Hard Candy, Free2Be Sunflower Butter Sun Cups, and more. Full list of allergy-friendly treats Overall, we think this is a huge upgrade and saves a lot of time if you still want to collect treats. So keep that in mind if you’ll be visiting Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party with allergies. We’ll keep an eye out for more Disney World news, so stay tuned to DFB for more. If there’s one thing we love about Disney, it’s all of the subcultures that come along with the brand. Disney Pins! We all love Disney, but some of us have favorite aspects of the parks, like obsessing over the snacks, meeting characters, and even pin trading! Pin Trading is easily one of the most popular subcultures, and weekly pin drops are how we keep the obsession at an all-time high. This week, we found 4 new pins that we think fans are going to love! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. There is just something about pin trading that we love! They’re small, affordable souvenirs, and they often show love to some more niche characters and films. They are also a great way to mark specific celebrations in the parks. The newest pin drop is no exception! Figment Slider Pin ©Disney Figment fans, let us hear you! Go crazy in the crowd for this new pin! This new drop is inspired by EPCOT’s famous purple mascot and his home at the Imagination Institute. Figment can slide up and down behind the podium to show off his famous yellow sweater. Real fans will remember this scene from the ride that inspires the pin! Shop on the Disney Store Mad Hatter and March Hare Pin ©Disney Next up, theme park fans can also get excited about this one! This pin is inspired by Alice in Wonderland and the Mad Tea Party in Magic Kingdom and Disneyland. Inside that famous spinning teacup, the Mad Hatter and the March Hare can be seen smiling on what we can only imagine is their un-birthdays. We also can’t get over that subtle shine in the background! Shop on the Disney Store The Great Mouse Detective 40th Anniversary Pin ©Disney Next, we have a limited release pin for serious Disney animation fans! This new pin celebrates The Great Mouse Detective‘s 40th Anniversary. The famous villain, Ratigan, can be seen holding open that nefarious yet gorgeous cape. In front of him, Basil of Baker Street stands tall with his detective magnifying glass. There’s also a 40th anniversary logo on Ratigan’s cape! Shop on the Disney Store Mickey Mouse Glow-in-the-Dark ”Happy Halloween” Pin ©Disney Finally, we have this timely pin because spooky season has kicked off in Disney World! This Halloween pin features Mickey Mouse dressed up with a cape with a houndstooth pattern in the background and a pumpkin pendant at his throat. His classic yellow buttons have been swapped for Jack-O-Lanterns, and his treat bag is FULL of candy we just know it. The best part? This pin glows in the dark for the perfect Halloween vibes! Shop on the Disney Store These four pins are too cute, and we can’t wait to add them to our pin boards at home! Be sure to keep following DFB for more. View the full article

Boo-To-You! We just spent an evening in Magic Kingdom at the first Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, and we’re still feeling all the spookiness and not-so-scariness of the evening. Happy Halloween! We trick-or-treated, we got a kick out of some fun costumes, we saw a parade and witnessed some EPIC creepy fireworks. But more importantly, we ate and drank some exclusive party snacks and drinks. Well, now that we’ve experienced it ALL, we’re going to tell you about our best food and drink picks of the evening! Most Eerie, Yet Tasty, New Snacks Okay, so let’s start out with the best of the Not-So-Scary snacks! These are the new snacks that blew us away and will have us booking another party before Halloween season is over. Up first is the Graveyard Hot Chicken and Waffle at Sleepy Hollow Refreshments! Graveyard Hot Chicken and Waffle This is made with Nashville hot chicken strips, blue cornmeal waffle, and pickle ranch. We LOVED this! The chicken tenders come coated in a balanced Nashville hot honey with just a touch of smokiness, and were perfectly cooked. The heat here does build — so you may want to keep that in mind. The flavors were bold and packed with a chili punch, and the fresh scallions on top were an excellent addition. The waffle is blue cornmeal, though it looks more black. Still, ours was soft, warm, and moist rather than crisp. Overall, we can’t stop raving about this one. The spice on these builds! Next up is the Fang-tastic Garlic Butter Burger at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe! This is an Angus beef burger with Boursin and brie fondue, crispy onions, and garlic pickles on a toasted black bun, served with French fries. Fang-tastic Garlic Butter Burger The patty was your typical Cosmic Ray’s burger, but everything else was elevated. The bun had a bit of a nice crunch on the outside and was super airy and soft on the inside. The Boursin and brie cheese mix was creamy and thick, and the flavors went together so well — creating a lovely mild and herby taste. There are chunks of garlic in it, which pack a punch. The pickles provided a welcome acidity and dill flavor, and everything tasted super fresh and crunchy. Fang-tastic Garlic Butter Burger We also loved the Frightful Black Bean Burger at Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe. This is a plant-based burger topped with jalapeño-ranch slaw and jalapeño chips on a purple bun, and served with French fries. We really didn’t like anything at Pecos for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, but this was great! Frightful Black Bean Burger The black bean patty was smoky, hearty, and packed with plant-based protein. It was smoky and had a barbecue taste to it, and the slaw was really delicious and not too tangy. Let’s take a bite! So that covers new treats, but what about returning ones? Ghastly Returning Snacks You Can’t Miss Now, a lot of the snacks and drinks we had this year have returned from previous years, so we have to tell you about those, too, because we think those shouldn’t be missed. That includes the DOLE Whip Mango and Chamoy Float at Aloha Isle Refreshments. It’s made with DOLE Whip Mango, pineapple juice, chamoy, and chili-lime seasoning, and it’s one of our favorite DOLE Whips EVER. We love how the seasoning isn’t overwhelming — there’s just enough of it to punch up the mango and pineapple flavors. DOLE Whip Mango Chamoy Float We also LOVE LOVE LOVE the Not-So-Poison Apple Doughnuts (doughnuts rolled in apple cider sugar and drizzled with caramel sauce) at Friar’s Nook. The doughnuts are perfect little pillowy pastries with just a bit of a crispy crust, and the apple cider sugar and caramel just complement their flavor so well. Not-So-Poison Apple Doughnuts We’re also still wishing the Candy Bowl Sundae at Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies would be available year-round. It’s Vanilla soft-serve topped with chocolate cone dip, SNICKERS bar pieces, TWIX cookie bar pieces, and M&M’S Milk Chocolate Candies Halloween Blend. So you’ve got that lovely hardened chocolate cone dip on top, plus those candy bar pieces, and it’s just PERFECTION. It’s like trick-or-treating, but in sundae form. Seriously, this is a contender for our best Disney World sundae EVER. Candy Bowl Sundae Folks craving some spice should check out the Jalapeño Popper Hot Dog at The Lunching Pad! This hot dog is topped with queso fundido, pickled and fried jalapeños, bacon, and onions — and it has no business being this good. Savory, with a freshness from the onions as well as a blend of textures, this hot dog is on the spicier side, but nothing guests with decent heat tolerances can’t handle. Jalapeño Popper Hot Dog If you’re feeling brave, definitely give this a go! Best Not-So-Scary Treats For Kids Of course, there are plenty of treats to please little ghouls, too. We want to highlight a popular dessert! Minnie’s Witch Hat The Minnie Witch Hat at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe is a sugar cookie topped with strawberry-banana mousse, buttercream, and two chocolate discs to make 3D Minnie ears. This year, it’s a strawberry-banana version, and it was a BIG win. The strawberry flavor was super subtle, while the banana was really unique for a party dessert. Together, they were light and filling. The outer coating with its thin layer of white chocolate was sweet and thin, and the icing along the bottom was a nice thick buttercream that provided some nice density. Minnie’s Witch Hat Over at Pinocchio Village Haus, you gotta try the Cruella Cookie Sandwich! This treat is filled with raspberry ganache dipped in white chocolate and sprinkles. Cruella Cookie Sandwich The cookie is a thick, nearly fudgy, chocolate chip cookie, and it has a chewy element that’s not too soft. It’s almost like a brownie that’s baked just enough. It’s a messy treat, but that’s probably a plus for kids. This is so tasty! Kids are sure to love these snacks as much as we did. Best Spooky Restaurant Vibes Several Magic Kingdom restaurants are open during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. So if you do take up valuable party time for a table service meal, where should you eat? Well, our most consistent experience was at Sleepy Hollow Refreshments! Sleepy Hollow Refreshments The Doom Buggy Dumplings (chicken dumplings with red miso gochujang sauce, furikake, and chili threads) had a nice kick and some good flavor. Doom Buggy Dumplings We already talked about how much we loved the Graveyard Hot Chicken and Waffle! Spicy! We also grabbed the Hatbox Ghost Pop (chocolate crumbs layered with chocolate mousse and dulce de leche, topped with blue crispy pearls and a chocolate piece), and this landed somewhere between a caramelly chocolate pudding and a mousse. It featured big chunks of chocolate crunchies that gave it a great texture. The push-pop format isn’t ideal, but the payoff is worth it — especially given the portion size. Hatbox Ghost Pop We also dug the returning Pumpkin-spiced Funnel Cake Sundae! This pumpkin funnel cake topped with pumpkin gelato, whipped cream, pumpkin-spiced caramel, candy pumpkins, and sprinkles is PERFECT for lovers of all things pumpkin spice. Pumpkin-spiced Funnel Cake Sundae Spoopiest Snack Halloween might be scary, but some of these snacks are downright ADORABLE. Our pick for the prettiest snack goes to the Headless Horseman Treat at Casey’s Corner! Headless Horseman Treat This thing is just so photogenic! This is a pumpkin pie tart topped with whipped cheesecake, spiced caramel panna cotta, candied pecans, and marshmallow buttercream “flames”. The pumpkin pie filling was so smooth, and it held its own against the whipped cheesecake layer, rather than being overpowered by it. The pumpkin filling is also lightly spiced, offering a great balance. The whipped cheesecake layer was the real standout, though. It was silky smooth with just the right amount of tang — providing a classic cream cheese cheesecake flavor without tasting artificial. The pâte sucrée crust was soft, tender, and delicately crumbly. Pumpkin fans will love! The candied pecans added a welcome crunch and a toasty, spiced contrast to all that creaminess, but we wanted more. Otherwise, this was an amazing treat! Most Terrifying Snack Of course, this is STILL a Halloween party, so some snacks dressed the part. We’re talking things shaped like skulls and poison apples and spooky things from Regions Beyond. So which was the MOST terrifying? The new Hades Cake Pop at The Lunching Pad stood out. This is made up of Mexican hot chocolate cake with popping candies dipped in chocolate with blue marshmallow “fire”. Hades Cake Pop The marshmallowy exterior looks like Hades’ hair, and you get some great dark chocolate flavors with each bite. The popping candies definitely come through and provide a crunchy texture, and we ultimately found this to be a very fun treat. YUM We’ll be back with even more of our takes on this year’s Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, so stay tuned to DFB for more. Most Walt Disney World vacations move quickly. There are early mornings, Lightning Lane return times, dining reservations, transportation decisions, and the feeling that you should always be heading somewhere. Tracy and I spent a casual morning at the resort, enjoyed a late breakfast, and then […] The post Is Sangria University Worth It? This Underrated EPCOT Spot Just Got Even Better!
Disney4me posted a topic in Disney Food/Restaurants
It may technically still be summer, but Halloween season has officially arrived in Disney World. EPCOT We’ve obviously been talking a lot about all the Halloween fun over in Magic Kingdom, but we just found one EPCOT store that has been completely transformed for the Halloween season! On our last visit to EPCOT, we were wandering around World Showcase when we noticed that one store in the American Adventure Pavilion looked completely different. The Art of Disney store, which typically showcases, you guessed it, Disney art, is now filled with tons of Halloween merch! Ghoulish Gallery There is still a bunch of Disney art on the walls, but now the center of the room is full of different Halloween merch. And after speaking with a Cast Member, we found out that the store even got a temporary name change. So for the Halloween season, The Art of Disney has transformed into the Ghoulish Gallery! The Art of Disney has transformed! And if you look around the walls, it even looks like they have added more Halloween and Villain art to match the spirit of spooky season. Spooky Art This is an amazing way to transform a space to perfectly fit into the Halloween vibes, and we already know we will be making more than a few stops here to check out the fun art and spooky merch. Ghoulish Gallery We will continue to keep you updated on all the Disney World Halloween news, so stay tuned with Disney Food Blog so you never miss anything! HURRY! We’ve got some great news for the podcast fans out there, especially if you find that you also love seeing the behind-the-scenes of what’s happening in the room while a podcast is being recorded! ©Disney There are a few shows on Disney+ right now that have podcasts that go along with them, detailing additional details of the show, such as Percy Jackson, but now it looks like something similar is on the way for more shows. If you’re a fan of video podcasting, you’ll love this new Disney+ announcement! Today, Disney+ and Hulu today announced a video podcasting deal with iHeartMedia for six iHeartPodcasts titles for popular shows, beginning with none other than Hey, Jonas, which will stream on Disney+ and Hulu starting August 14th. ©Disney That’s not all, though! Video editions of iHeartPodcasts’ Pod Meets World will come to Disney+ soon, as well as Desperately Devoted, Fake Doctors, Real Friends with Zach and Donald, StraightioLab, and Thanks Dad with Ego Nwodim to Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ for subscribers with the bundle. ©Disney When speaking about the new partnership, Lauren Tempest, Head of Content Planning & Partnerships, DTC at The Walt Disney Company said, “Fans can’t get enough of the stories and talent they love, and podcasts have become one of the fastest growing ways for audiences to connect with them. These new video podcasts from iHeartMedia bring fans closer to their favorite worlds and the creators behind them, and we’re thrilled to make them available on Disney+ and Hulu as part of an even richer streaming experience.” ©Disney Bob Pittman, Chairman and CEO for iHeartMedia, continued, saying, “Disney+ and Hulu have built powerful streaming destinations with incredibly passionate fan communities, making them ideal partners to expand the reach of these beloved iHeartPodcasts. From iconic rewatch series and fan-favorite conversations to original storytelling, this deal gives both existing listeners and new viewers an easy way to discover and connect with some of podcasting’s most engaging voices through video.” ©Disney What exactly can we expect, you ask? Well, starting with Hey, Jonas, the show will debut with a new episode highlighting the new Camp Rock 3 film, and will continue with additional episodes of Kevin, Joe, and Nick Jonas live at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event that weekend. Desperately Devoted on Hulu will begin streaming with video for the first time on November 2nd, while fans of Scrubs can also revisit each episode of the hit series alongside co-stars and real-life best friends Zach Braff and Donald Faison with Fake Doctors, Real Friends with Zach and Donald, streaming on Hulu beginning later in 2026. Pod Meets World is also slated to premiere August 24th. ©Disney This expansion joins the existing lineup of podcasts on Disney+ and Hulu, which includes titles like Handsome and We’re Here to Help, in addition to rewatch podcasts like The Mess Around with Hannah and Lamorne, Prison Breaking With Sarah and Paul, and That Was Us. Companion podcasts are also available for Disney+ and Hulu’s most popular series, are are quite popular. Series with companion podcasts include, but aren’t limited to, Paradise, American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, and FX’s The Shards and Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette. Well, we managed to go to the first Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party of the year, and it was an EXPERIENCE. We saw and did everything we could do: we checked out all the cool merchandise, we watched the parade and the fireworks, and we ate a ton of party-exclusive snacks. Trick-or-treating We also did a lot of trick-or-treating because if you’re going to pay for a ticket for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, you might as well get all the free candy you can, right? However, we noticed an interesting trend with trick-or-treating this year that we wanted to share. So one of our best pieces of advice for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in previous years has been to wait to go trick-or-treating because if you wait until right before the party ends, you’ll be able to trick-or-treat to your heart’s content with shorter lines. However, we guess word got out about that little tip, because that has CHANGED. Treat trail In fact, we were SHOCKED at just how many people were trick-or-treating at the end of the party. The lines for treat trails were longer than we expected. Before, you could just breeze on through the treat trails and even do them multiple times and stock up on a lot of candy fast, but that’s no longer the case. Treat trail So our best piece of advice now is to just not wait to do your trick-or-treating. You might as well just hit up the treat trails as you’re making your way around Magic Kingdom during the party (and then you don’t have to worry about backtracking). Still, we’re disappointed that our little trick for speeding through treat trails is no longer really valid. Boo (To You). We spend a perfectly reasonable amount of time poking around Amazon for Disney souvenirs. “Perfectly reasonable” is, of course, a flexible term that includes monitoring the price history of sequin backpacks and having existential thoughts about kitchen appliances shaped like astromech droids. ©Disney During our latest Amazon excavation, we found seven Disney items that deserve some attention. Several have dropped to their lowest prices in months, and a few have reached prices we haven’t seen in more than a year. From jewelry you can wear around Disney World to a Mickey Mouse oven mitt that gives every casserole a round of applause, these are the Disney souvenirs currently hovering over our “Add to Cart” buttons. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Mickey Mouse Endless Hoop Earrings These Mickey Mouse Endless Hoop Earrings are currently 20% off, which may not sound like the sort of discount that requires an emergency meeting of the Disney Shopping Council. The price history tells a better story. This is the lowest price we’ve seen on these earrings in three months, including during recent Prime Deal Days. In other words, Amazon has had plenty of opportunities to offer a better price and simply has not done it. Mickey Mouse Endless Hoop Earrings We also own these earrings, so this isn’t a case of judging jewelry through the cold glass of an Amazon product listing. They’re lightweight, sparkly without becoming tiny chandeliers, and subtle enough to wear outside the parks. The Mickey design is built into the hoop instead of dangling from it, which gives the earrings a cleaner look. ©Amazon If you’ve been watching these, the current price is genuinely good. They also tend to perform extremely well whenever we share them on social media, so we wouldn’t count on every pair sitting patiently in stock. View on Amazon Loungefly Winnie the Pooh Sequin & Glitter Mini Backpack Is this technically a Halloween Loungefly? No. Does its warm orange color look ready to stroll through Magic Kingdom carrying a pumpkin spice cold brew? Absolutely. The Winnie the Pooh Sequin & Glitter Mini Backpack is covered in golden-orange sequins, with Pooh’s face, ears, and red shirt creating a bag that is cheerful, sparkly, and unexpectedly perfect for fall. It has the cozy colors of the season without locking you into a strictly Halloween design. More importantly, this is the lowest price we’ve seen on the backpack in over a year. That is the detail making us pay attention. Loungefly prices bounce around constantly, but this one has stayed stubbornly higher for a long time. We genuinely don’t expect to see it drop much lower than its current price. You could carry it during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, through an autumn Disney trip, or during any random Tuesday when your outfit needs more Pooh Bear. View on Amazon Loungefly Disney Minnie Mouse Black Sequin Double Strap Shoulder Bag Purse Before anyone sends us a strongly worded message about an 11% discount, let us explain. Yes, this Minnie Mouse Loungefly is only marked down by 11%. Normally, that would earn a polite nod before we continued scrolling. However, this is the lowest price we’ve seen on the backpack in an entire year. In fact, we haven’t seen it fall below this price during that period. ©Amazon This is also one of the most classic Loungefly designs you can buy. The black sequins work with almost any Disney outfit, while Minnie’s ears and red bow give it the right amount of park personality. It feels special without requiring you to build an entire outfit around a very specific movie, character, or seasonal event. The backpack also has a habit of returning to its full price. If you’ve had it saved in your cart or parked on a wish list, this is the moment we’d consider grabbing it. An 11% discount may not get a confetti cannon, but a record-low price gets our attention. View on Amazon LEGO Disney Princess Castle & Royal Pets Kids Toy I am not a LEGO girlie. I appreciate the creativity. I can appreciate the tiny engineering. I also know that once I open a LEGO set, I will spend the next several hours hunched over a table searching for one beige piece that was under my elbow the entire time. And yet, even I am intrigued by this Disney Princess Castle & Royal Pets set. ©Amazon The set brings together Ariel, Rapunzel, Jasmine, Moana, and Mulan in one large castle. That is already an excellent princess roster, particularly for anyone who grew up during the Disney Renaissance and still has a favorite Disney princess soundtrack. The real draw, though, is the pets. ©Amazon The set includes animal companions for the princesses, which immediately makes the entire thing about 47% more charming. The castle has multiple rooms and areas for imaginative play, but it would also make a very cute display once the final brick has been snapped into place. This is officially marketed for ages six and older. Unofficially, it is also for adults who would like to spend an afternoon building a palace for several tiny plastic animals. We see you. View on Amazon Disney Tinker Bell Fairy Wings Cubic Zirconia Crystal Pendant Necklace Sometimes Disney jewelry announces itself from across the room. This Tinker Bell necklace takes a quieter route. The pendant features Tinker Bell with sparkling cubic zirconia wings, creating a design that is recognizable without feeling like costume jewelry. It would be an easy way to add a little Disney detail to a park outfit, particularly if you prefer jewelry that doesn’t involve giant character heads or a necklace heavy enough to affect your posture. This is the lowest price we’ve seen on the necklace in over a year. ©Amazon We could easily picture wearing it with a simple green top in Magic Kingdom, especially for a Peter Pan-inspired DisneyBound. It would also work outside the parks, which gives it a little more mileage than souvenirs that immediately begin shouting “VACATION MERCHANDISE” when removed from Disney property. It is delicate, classic, and currently sitting at a price that has been unusually difficult to beat. View on Amazon Uncanny Brands Star Wars R2-D2 Deluxe Toaster Are we saying you need an R2-D2 toaster? Yes. Yes, we are. This is a working two-slot toaster shaped like everyone’s favorite opinionated astromech droid. When you press the lever, R2-D2 lights up and makes sounds while your bread toasts. ©Amazon Your old toaster does not do that. It just sits there, beige and silent, contributing nothing to the household atmosphere. The toaster has wide slots for bread, bagels, and English muffins, along with adjustable browning settings. It even includes a removable crumb tray, because R2-D2 may be dramatic, but he understands basic kitchen maintenance. ©Amazon Would this take up a noticeable amount of counter space? Certainly. Would we be delighted every time Artoo began chirping over a bagel? Also certainly. Buy, you must. Yes, that quote belongs to a different Star Wars character. No, we will not be taking questions. View on Amazon Disney Mickey Mouse Hand Oven Mitt Pot Holder Replica This Mickey Mouse oven mitt makes us smile every time we see it. It is shaped like Mickey’s familiar white glove, which means every tray of cookies can now emerge from the oven looking as though Mickey Mouse personally reached into your kitchen to retrieve it. The glove is made from thick, heat-resistant silicone and has textured dots on the palm to help with grip. Those dots are even shaped like tiny Hidden Mickeys, because apparently Disney found a way to put extra theming on the business side of an oven mitt. ©Amazon It is also the lowest price we’ve seen in more than three months. This is the kind of Disney souvenir that earns its cabinet space. It is useful, recognizable, and ridiculous in exactly the correct proportion. Hang it near the oven, and it doubles as kitchen decor. Use it while baking, and every pan gets a cartoonishly enthusiastic high five. This may be the item we want most. We have strong opinions about unimportant things, and Mickey Mouse holding our lasagna has become very important. View on Amazon Our Carts Have Spoken A discount percentage never tells the whole story. A modest markdown can still be an excellent deal when the product rarely drops in price. That is why several of these items caught our attention. The Mickey earrings are at their best price in months. Both Loungefly backpacks have reached unusually low prices, including one we haven’t seen beaten in over a year. The Tinker Bell necklace and Mickey oven mitt are also sitting at some of their strongest recent prices. Then there is the R2-D2 toaster, which chirps while making breakfast. Price history becomes almost irrelevant when a kitchen appliance has that much personality. ©Amazon Amazon prices can change quickly, so check the current listing before purchasing. We’ll continue digging through the Disney deals, watching the price drops, and asking the important questions. Questions such as, “How many sequin Loungefly backpacks can one person reasonably own?” We are still collecting data. View on Amazon We’re always on the hunt for the latest and greatest Disney souvenirs and essentials, so don’t forget to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for more! View the full article

One of our favorite things to look out for at Disney World is cool and exclusive merch, and sometimes that comes in the form of fun specialty cups you can snag around the parks. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets Recently, an awesome new Muppets Cup dropped in Hollywood Studios, but when we went to grab one yesterday, we saw that they were gone after only ONE week. Let’s dive in! Back on August 1st, we snagged the all-new and adorable Muppets Beaker novelty cup. This was available at the new FØØD by Swedish Chef, located right next to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets. You could grab this cup with the purchase of either the Pink Le-moi-nade or Pond Water Limeade. New Muppets souvenir! This cup was super cute, and the best part is that it came at no additional cost; if you bought one of these drinks, the cup came with it for the same price as the drink alone. When this Cup debuted, Disney did announce that it was only available while supplies last, but we expected that to be longer than just a week and a half. However, after speaking with a Cast Member, we found out that this cup did not actually sell out at all. The Muppet Beaker Cup Is No Longer On The Menu In fact, when the shipment of these cups came in, the Cast Members did not originally realize there was an error in production and NONE of the Muppets had any teeth. Unfortunately, once they realized the mistake, Disney decided to remove the option from the menu. And it seems like there are no plans for these cups to return any time soon. We love this cup! So, if this cup was on your list, hopefully you snagged it last week, because you just got a pretty rare souvenir! We really loved this Muppets cup, and we hope that Disney will bring this cup or one similar back in the future for fans to enjoy. We love this souvenir! When it comes to Disney Cruises, there are certain things experts make sure they do as soon as they board… and make sure they DON’T do. Disney Wish From arriving at the port to souvenirs to what’s happening the rest of their voyage, these experienced passengers know what traps to avoid before even boarding their ship of choice. They Don’t Fly In the Morning of Their Departure For passengers who don’t live a short drive from their ship’s port-of-call – – those who need to fly or drive a long distance for that matter — it’s imperative to have an extra arrival day cushion and a hotel room nearby. After all, no one wants to miss their cruise because their flight’s 8:00 AM landing was delayed or traffic was inexorably backed up. Port Canaveral Try to Bring Prohibited Items Onboard Experienced Disney Cruise Line passengers know there is a relatively extensive list of items that are prohibited on Disney’s ships, and make sure to have any with them, lest they need to throw them away before boarding. This includes: Weapons & Firearms Marijuana & Illicit Drugs Blenders Bottle Sterilizers and Warmers Coffee Makers Coolers Diffusers Electric Blankets Electric Irons and Steamers Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacons (EPIRB) Extension Cords, Power Strips, Multi-Plugs, and Surge Protectors Ham Radios Heating Elements Heating Pads Hookah Pipes Hot Plates Metal Detectors Microwave Ovens Power Tools, Hand Tools, and Toolboxes Remote-Controlled Airplanes, Drones, Toy Vehicles, Star Wars Droids Rice Cookers Toasters and Toaster Ovens Seasonal and/or Strands of Celebratory Lightbulbs Streaming Devices (Amazon Fire Stick, Apple TV, Google Chromecast, Roku, etc.) Port Canaveral In addition, while alcoholic beverages aren’t outright banned, they are heavily regulated. Disney Cruise Line Guests 21 years and older—or Guests 18 years and older on round-trip cruises from Singapore—may bring a maximum of one bottle of unopened wine or sparkling wine (no larger than 750 ml) or 6 beers (no larger than 12 ounces) on board at the beginning of the voyage. These beverages must be packed in carry-on (not checked) bags or luggage. They Don’t Try and Book Excursions that Day Whether it’s heading to the spa, going fishing, taking classes, or even exploring once you’re off the ship at different ports of call, excursions are some of the most fun you’ll have on your Disney voyage. However, as longtime cruisers know, anyone who thinks they can book their excursions the day they board the ship is in for a rude awakening. In actuality, most activities book up way beforehand. Eligibility to book is based on the following scale: First-Time Guests: 75 days prior to sail date Silver Castaway Club Members: 90 days prior to sail date Gold Castaway Club Members: 105 days prior to sail date Platinum Castaway Club Members: 120 days prior to sail date Pearl Castaway Club Members: 123 days prior to sail date Concierge Guests: 130 days prior to sail date. ©Disney To book reservations in advance, you can follow these steps! Log in to My Reservations. Go to the “My Plans” tab. Select the day you’d like to reserve an activity on your day-by-day itinerary. Select “Add Activities” and choose from the options provided. Once you’ve selected all your activities for that day, review your choices and add them to the cart. Repeat the same steps to add other activities on other days. Disney Cruise, here we come! Try and Shop Immediately Veteran cruisers know that the stores on board the ship don’t open until it has left port, so there’s no rushing to the souvenir shop immediately once on board. Relatedly, the shops are not open on disembarkation day, as the ship is already back at port by the time most passengers wake up. Treasures Untold Head to the Buffet Immediately While the shops may not be open, the buffet-style marketplaces (which are included in each sailing) sure are, and they get BUSY. Most experienced cruisers will skip the first hours of the journey, either grabbing food before boarding or ordering room service to hold them over until dinner. Marceline Market on the Disney Wish Cruise Ship They Skip the Elevators (If They Can) Speaking of crowded areas, the elevators are usually slammed with people heading to their cabins or exploring the ship on their first day. If they can, experienced passengers – – especially those familiar with the ship’s layout – – will use the stairs to maneuver their way around the ship. Stairs BONUS: They DO Unpack Most experienced Disney Cruise passengers unpack in their cabins and get settled in before sail away. This way they can enjoy their cruise without digging for belongings the whole time or living out of a suitcase, which is tougher in a cruise cabin than a hotel room. To the verandah! Whether your next Disney Cruise is your first, fifth, or fifteenth, be sure to keep in mind what NOT to do on your first day! Stay tuned to DFB for more sailing tips. D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event is less than one week away, and that means that we’re getting prepared for a weekend FULL of Disney news. ©D23 One of the events we’re looking forward to the most is the D23 Disney Experiences Showcase, which is often where Disney announces some of the biggest news. In the past, we’ve heard tons of major Disney park news at this showcase, as well as other information that shapes Disney trips and vacations for the future, but it’s been a little hard to follow along when you’re not in person. While we’ve still got a few days to go until the actual event, Disney just released new information on what to expect, INCLUDING how you can watch from home WITHOUT a ticket to the event! The event will take place at 7 PM PT on Saturday, August 15th, and is officially called Horizons: A Carousel of Progress. In person, you’ll want to be at the Honda Center to see the announcements happen in person, but if you’re watching from home, you’ll be able to stream it live on Disney+ starting at that same 7 PM PT mark. ©Disney Neil Patrick Harris will be hosting the event, and he’ll be joined by the artists, storytellers, and creative leaders working to bring Disney’s new additions to the next level. We’ll get to see a series of conversations with Walt Disney Imagineering leaders and creative talent, interspersed with high-energy performances, special moments, and Disney magic. Disney has said these conversations will take the audience “on a journey through Disney’s unmatched storytelling legacy, the spirit of adventure at the heart of so many Disney stories, the remarkable creative process anchored by exploration and curiosity, and the bold promise of possibility that has guided Imagineers for more than seven decades.” ©Disney What exactly will we be seeing, though? Are we finally going to get updates on some of the new lands coming to Disney parks? Well, Disney has just revealed that we’ll be getting “project updates, first looks, new artwork and renderings, behind-the-scenes stories, creative insights, and a closer look at how some of Disney Experiences’ most ambitious projects are progressing.” That sounds promising! ©Disney Below is a list of the Imagineers and other creatives we know we’ll get to hear from during the event: Thomas Mazloum, Disney Experiences Chairman Bruce Vaughn, President and Chief Creative Officer, Walt Disney Imagineering Ali Rubinstein, Senior Vice President, Global Creative & Development Studios Michael Hundgen, Vice President Creative, Walt Disney World Emily “Emo” O’Brien, Portfolio Creative Producer, Disneyland Resort and Tokyo Disney Resort Caroline May, Executive Creative Director, Walt Disney World Claire Weiss, Portfolio Creative Director, Disney Cruise Line Brent Strong, Executive Creative Director Chris Beatty, Portfolio Executive Creative Director, Walt Disney World Jason Grandt, Executive Creative Director, Walt Disney World ©Disney Not only will we be at the event in person to bring you all the latest news, but we’ll also be watching from home to make sure we don’t miss a single second. There’s a great big, beautiful horizon shining at the end of every day… specifically, Saturday, Aug. 15. Whether you’re attending in person or following along from home, there’s one thing you’ll want to add to your D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event checklist: Horizons: A Carousel of Progress, streaming live on Disney+ beginning at 7 p.m. PT. Fans around the world can tune in as host Neil Patrick Harris is joined by the artists, storytellers, and creative leaders helping bring Disney’s next chapter to life. If you joined us during D23 in 2024, you’ll remember a whirlwind evening packed with reveals for Disney Parks, Disney Cruise Line, and destinations around the globe. From new lands and attractions to ships and experiences still on the drawing board, Disney Experiences shared an unprecedented look at what was ahead. Now, many of those projects are no longer concepts on a screen. They’re being designed, engineered, built, tested, and brought to life by teams across the globe. And that’s exactly what Horizons: A Carousel of Progress will be all about. SHARING A CAROUSEL OF PROGRESS Horizons will feature a series of conversations with Walt Disney Imagineering leaders and creative talent helping shape projects around the world – taking the audience on a journey through Disney’s unmatched storytelling legacy, the spirit of adventure at the heart of so many Disney stories, the remarkable creative process anchored by exploration and curiosity, and the bold promise of possibility that has guided Imagineers for more than seven decades. And because this is still a Disney Experiences showcase, those conversations will be joined by high-energy performances, special moments, and a little Disney magic along the way. Fans can expect project updates, first looks, new artwork and renderings, behind-the-scenes stories, creative insights, and a closer look at how some of Disney Experiences’ most ambitious projects are progressing. We’re pulling back the curtain on the work, collaboration, and imagination of many of the experiences in development that Disney fans are eagerly following. MEET THE STARS OF HORIZONS While thousands of fans will fill the Honda Center, the format is designed to feel surprisingly intimate. Along with Disney Experiences Chairman Thomas Mazloum, Imagineers will engage in conversations that bring audiences closer to the creative minds moving projects from concepts and artwork into experiences guests will eventually explore, ride, sail aboard, and enjoy. Whether leading large-scale portfolio planning, overseeing creative development, shaping immersive environments, or collaborating across global teams, each Imagineer brings a unique perspective and passion to the work of creating experiences that connect with generations of Disney fans. Bruce Vaughn, President and Chief Creative Officer, Walt Disney Imagineering For Bruce, the magic happens when storytelling meets imagination. Throughout his career, he’s helped turn bold ideas into immersive experiences that bring Disney stories to life for guests around the world. Passionate about pushing creative boundaries while preserving the emotional heart of Disney, Bruce believes every great experience starts with a simple question: What if? Ali Rubinstein, Senior Vice President, Global Creative & Development Studios Ali fell in love with storytelling through theater and film and has been creating worlds that bring stories to life ever since. Today, she brings together art and innovation to shape places that feel joyful, exciting, and deeply human. She believes the best experiences strike a balance between the familiar and the new, creating moments of nostalgia, surprise, connection, and, above all, fun. Michael Hundgen, Portfolio Executive Creative Producer, Walt Disney World For Michael, becoming an Imagineer is a true full-circle moment. After a childhood encounter with the Country Bear Jamboree sparked a fascination with Disney Parks and Imagineering, that passion eventually became a career. Today, he helps bring some of the biggest dreams on the horizon for Walt Disney World to life. As a lifelong EPCOT fan, being part of a showcase inspired by Horizons feels especially meaningful. Emily “Emo” O’Brien, Portfolio Executive Creative Producer, Disneyland Resort and Tokyo Disney Resort Emo believes the best Disney stories are the ones guests can step right into. Throughout her Imagineering career, she’s helped create immersive experiences around the world, from Cars Land at Disney California Adventure to Fantasy Springs at Tokyo DisneySea. Today, she helps shape the future of Disneyland Resort, inspired by the power of storytelling to bring people together and spark new memories. Caroline May, Executive Creative Director, Walt Disney World Inspired by creative pioneers like Mary Blair, Caroline has always believed in the power of visual storytelling. Her love of art and design led her to Imagineering, where she helps create immersive experiences that surprise, delight, and spark curiosity. Caroline is passionate about finding unexpected ways to tell stories and creating moments that help guests see Disney worlds through a new lens. Claire Weiss, Portfolio Executive Creative Director, Disney Cruise Line Claire believes every space has a story to tell. With a passion for design and immersive environments, she helps create experiences that transport guests into new worlds and unforgettable adventures. She loves discovering the details that bring storytelling to life in surprising ways, creating places that guests don’t just visit, but truly feel part of. Brent Strong, Executive Creative Director A lifelong Disney fan, Brent Strong grew up dreaming about the experiences that inspired him and now helps create new ones for future generations. Guided by optimism and a belief in the power of imagination, he loves building stories that bring people together. For Brent, the most rewarding moments are when guests become the heroes of their own adventure. Chris Beatty, Portfolio Executive Creative Director, Walt Disney World Chris has spent decades helping Disney stories leap from imagination into reality. An artist, storyteller, and creative leader, he’s passionate about creating experiences that inspire wonder and spark new dreams. For Chris, storytelling is about creating connections across generations and leaving guests with memories they carry long after the adventure ends. Jason Grandt, Executive Creative Director, Walt Disney World Jason’s fascination with Disney began when he discovered that the stories he loved on screen could become worlds he could step inside. Inspired by Walt Disney’s vision and a lifelong excitement for possibility, he now helps create experiences that bring imagination to life. For Jason, the most rewarding moments are those that spark wonder, inspire creativity, and leave guests excited for what comes next. Disney World restaurants have a wide range of options, and some may be more affordable than you think. Steakhouse 71 Stack Burger and Wedge Salad On one end you’ve got quick-service counters where you can grab a burger and fries without blinking, and on the other you’ve got signature restaurants where the tasting menu costs more than your park ticket. And somewhere in the middle is this wonderful, slippery category of restaurants that feel like a splurge but really aren’t. Here’s the thing about “affordable,” though — it’s totally subjective, especially at Disney World. What feels like a great deal to one family might feel steep to another, and that’s okay! We all have different budgets, different priorities, and different ideas of what’s “worth it”. So with that disclaimer in place, we rounded up 9 restaurants that give you way more bang for your buck than their ambiance, theming, or reputation might suggest. Akershus Royal Banquet Hall If character dining is on your must-do list but Cinderella’s Royal Table‘s price tag makes you wince, Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in Epcot’s Norway Pavilion is the move. You still get princesses table-side, you still get that “we’re dining with royalty” magic, but the price point is noticeably friendlier than its Magic Kingdom counterpart. It’s proof that you don’t have to break the bank to get the princess experience — you just have to know where to look. Princess Tiana at Akershus Grand Floridian Cafe The Grand Floridian Cafe is a masterclass in “fancy vibes, friendly prices.” You’re seated in one of the most elegant resorts on Disney property, surrounded by chandeliers and that unmistakable Victorian charm, and yet the menu has plenty of approachable options. Sandwiches, salads, and comfort-food classics sit right alongside pricier entrees, so you can dip a toe into Grand Floridian elegance without committing to a Grand Floridian bill. Grand Floridian Cafe Steakhouse 71 Steakhouse 71 at the Contemporary Resort is one of those restaurants where the name might scare off budget-conscious guests — but it shouldn’t. Yes, you can order a beautiful steak if that’s what you’re craving, but you can also order a burger that would feel right at home. The wide range of pricing on the menu means everyone in your party can order what fits their appetite (and their budget) without anyone feeling like they’re settling. Stack Burger Boathouse Similar story over at The Boathouse in Disney Springs. This waterfront restaurant looks and feels like a special-occasion splurge, with its vintage boat displays and lakeside views. But like Steakhouse 71, the menu spans from a solid burger to a serious steak or seafood dish. That flexibility means you can walk in for a casual bite or a celebratory dinner, and the restaurant will meet you exactly where you are, budget-wise. Yacht Club Sandwich The Plaza Restaurant The Plaza is a bit of a hidden gem tucked into Magic Kingdom, and it’s one of the most affordable table-service options in the entire park. It doesn’t get the hype of some of MK’s flashier restaurants, but that’s part of its charm — you get a sit-down meal, air conditioning, and a break from the crowds, all without the premium price of the park’s more famous eateries. The Plaza Restaurant Spice Road Table At Spice Road Table in Epcot’s Morocco Pavilion, you’re paying for shareable Mediterranean tapas — and that’s exactly what makes it feel like such a good value. Order a few small plates for the table, split them among your group, and suddenly that “expensive-looking” waterside restaurant with the gorgeous World Showcase Lagoon view feels a lot more reasonable per person than a plate of individual entrees would. Spice Road Table full spread Sebastian’s Bistro Sebastian’s Bistro at Caribbean Beach Resort has quietly become one of the best values in family-style dining. The prix fixe, family-style format means the whole table shares a spread of dishes for one set price, and lately that price has been notably more affordable than comparable family-style meals elsewhere on property. It’s an easy way to feed a group without stressing over individual menu prices. Taste of the Caribbean Platter The Polite Pig The Polite Pig in Disney Springs earned Michelin recognition — which sounds like the opposite of “affordable” — but it’s still a quick-service spot at heart. That means you get chef-driven, genuinely impressive barbecue without the table-service markup. It’s a rare case where the accolades outpace the price tag. Butcher Board Cake Bake Shop The Cake Bake Shop Restaurant is the wildcard on this list, because its affordability comes with an asterisk: go during lunch. That’s when the choose-two deal kicks in, letting you pair a soup, salad, or sandwich for a set price that’s a fraction of what you’d spend ordering dinner or a la carte. Time your visit right, and this favorite becomes a genuinely budget-friendly stop. French Ham & Brie Sandwich w/ Lemon Caesar Salad Choose Two At the end of the day, “affordable” at Disney World will always mean something a little different for every family and that’s exactly why it’s worth knowing which restaurants overdeliver on value. It’s almost time for one of the best EPCOT festivals of the year, the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival. This festival is also one of the most popular because it brings the Eat to the Beat concert series to EPCOT, as well as a variety of foods and beverages, the Eat to the Beat concert series, fun activities, and more. 2025 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival display That also means that if you visit the festival on certain days, you are inevitably going to face some SERIOUS crowds, but there is a way to avoid most of that. So we’ve put together a list of dates when you should avoid the festival, if you can. The EPCOT Food & Wine Festival starts on August 27th and runs through November 21st. You don’t have to buy a separate ticket to attend the festival, but you will need a valid park ticket to enter EPCOT. The festival is generally a lot of fun with SO MUCH great foods and drinks to try, but if you’re going, we suggest you avoid the following dates: August 27th — Opening Day The very worst day to visit the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival is on the first day, which is August 27th. That’s because EVERYONE wants to check out the festival, plus many of us in the media are there to get you all the festival details, and you will run into long lines for pretty much every food booth. Crowds on opening day in 2025 If you can only avoid one day, this is the one you should avoid at all costs. Plus, we’ll be there to cover it for you, so you can sit at home and enjoy it from the comfort of your couch through us (plus, we’ll make sure you know which food and drinks are the best to get). August 29th — Opening Weekend Likewise, the first Saturday of the festival is generally very crowded because those people who couldn’t go on opening day due to work will be there on that first Saturday, when they’re off. It’s not QUITE as crowded as opening day, but it’s close. You’ll also run into crowds on opening day weekend So if you can, also avoid the opening weekend of the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival. Weekends, in general If you can avoid weekends, that’s probably a good idea, too. Weekends are when a lot of locals visit the festival because, once again, they’re off work and they can pop into the parks each weekend to try something new. You’ll run into some crowds on Saturdays and Sundays. Most weekends are busy, too The best time to visit the festival is generally Mondays through Thursdays, although Fridays are usually not TOO busy. September 5-7th — Labor Day Labor Day weekend is always one of the most crowded weekends in Disney World. Many people have all three days off, which means they’re headed to Disney World to enjoy some downtime. That means lots of extra folks are also visiting EPCOT for the festival. Labor Day crowds in EPCOT If you can avoid visiting EPCOT during Labor Day weekend, your EPCOT Food & Wine Festival experience will be much less stressful. October 10th-12th — Indigenous Peoples’ Day Weekend Another long weekend for many people happens on October 10th through 12th, which is Indigenous Peoples’ Day Weekend. Three days off means more time in the parks, which also means more people in EPCOT. This is prime festival time right here! Indigenous Peoples’ Day in EPCOT The general rule of thumb is to avoid holidays and long weekends, if you can. November 11th — Veterans Day Speaking of holidays, Veterans Day falls on a Wednesday this year, and that’s probably going to be when many locals will visit EPCOT because they’ll have the day off from work (and many kids are out of school). So that could be one of the busiest weekdays you’ll see during the festival. Magic Kingdom So if you’re visiting Disney World that week, you may want to visit EPCOT on any other day than Wednesday. November 21st — Last day Finally, don’t visit the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival on the last day. This is when a lot of people head to EPCOT to enjoy the final day of the festival and squeeze in one last bit of eating and drinking around the food booths. So if you can visit the festival before that, well, that’s probably your best bet. EPCOT Food & Wine Festival crowds We hope this gives you a good idea of when to plan (and when not to plan) your trip to the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival. Changes are EVERYWHERE around Disney World right now — a brand-new hotel is being built near Magic Kingdom, the BoardWalk is welcoming new restaurants and stores, attractions are currently being updated, and new lands are being built around two parks! Piston Peak Construction While EPCOT has been on the quieter side of change lately, one of its pavilions in the World Showcase is preparing for some change! If past years are any indication, the Germany Pavilion is getting ready for some change — here’s what we know! The Germany Pavilion has actually been the “hub” of construction in EPCOT lately, with a majority of the Volkskunst store being closed, as well as the public bathrooms being covered by construction walls. If this is the change you think we’re talking about, think again — the Germany Pavilion will be getting ANOTHER change soon!
