  3. If I were in charge of Disney Parks, every single ride would have a holiday overlay. Can you imagine? Peter Pan’s Flight: Holiday Edition. Matterhorn Bobsleds: Rudolph’s Revenge. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Presents. I’m a little biased, but these sound amazing. “it’s a small world” Unfortunately, not every ride in Disneyland and Disney World can get an overall holiday season makeover, but a select few do get a bit of love and Christmas lights. One of those is “it’s a small world” in Disneyland (but not Disney World — another change I would make if I were in charge). We just got news on when the ride will close for a refurbishment, and it’s coming up soon. On the Disneyland calendar, “it’s a small world” closes on October 30th. “it’s a small world” Holiday returns on November 13th, ready to bring some Christmas cheer to the park. it’s a small world Holiday In 2025, the holiday version opened on November 13th and ran until January 25th, so we’ll likely have similar dates this year. If this version of the ride is at the top of your list, plan a trip between mid-November and early January so you can catch it. 400,000 lights also illuminate the attraction’s facade, and the clock face features a big Santa hat. Inside November 13th also marks the start of the holiday season at Disneyland, when everything becomes a bit more magical. It runs until January 6th, and you’ll be able to enjoy a 60-foot-tall Christmas tree on Main Street, U.S.A., and over 80,000 shimmering lights on the Sleeping Beauty Castle. Christmas at Disneyland Mickey, Minnie, and some of their friends will be wearing their new holiday attire, and you can even meet Santa at Mickey’s Toontown Trolley Barn near Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin. Mickey and Minnie at Disneyland in their Holiday Best (2023) For special entertainment, be sure to watch Believe
In Holiday Magic fireworks spectacular where you can even check out the snow on Main Street. There’s also the A Christmas Fantasy parade with reindeer, toy soldiers, gingerbread, and more strutting through Disneyland. “Believe
in Holiday Magic” Fireworks Haunted Mansion Holiday has already transformed into its holiday version since it’s technically a Halloween and Christmas movie. This ride can get super busy, but it’s one that you don’t want to miss and is a fan favorite. Haunted Mansion Holiday We’re so glad that the holidays are almost here at Disneyland, so in the meantime, make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more Disney news and tips and tricks that you don’t want to miss to have the best Disney vacation ever. 4. Have you ever heard of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions? It’s also known as IAAPA, and it has an expo every year. ©Disney IAAPA is the global association for the attractions industry, and part of its expo is the Signature Sessions, which is where Disney Legends, renowned storytellers, global executives, and influential thought leaders from across the attractions industry come together to have discussions about what’s going on in the theme park industry. This year, there are nearly 200 sessions planned for the largest Expo the organization has had to date, and four of them will be led by major Disney creatives! This year, the expo is happening from November 16th-20th in Orlando, and four of the educational sessions will be led by well-known Disney creatives. This year, the Legends 2026 Panel will be the Legends of Disney, which will feature Bob Weis (former president of Walt Disney Imagineering), Joe Rohde (Disney Legend and beloved former Imagineer), and Leslie Iwerks (award-winning filmmaker behind Disneyland Handcrafted). Bob Weis ©D23 The panel will take place on Wednesday, November 18th, from 4-5:30 PM and will be moderated by Bob Rogers. According to the IAAPA website, the panel will “draw on decades of experience to explore how storytelling drives project development and how strong creative collaboration can transform ideas into thematic environments, ride vehicles, films, and experiences that resonate for generations.” Those who attend will get to hear the panel talk about their firsthand insights, strategies, and lessons from their careers. ©Disney Bob Weis will also be part of another panel on November 16th at 10 AM called DEEP STORY: The Secrets of Transformational Story Making. The website describes this panel as sharing “practical techniques, best practices, and ideas for creating transformational experiences that build meaningful connections with audiences and make a measurable impact beyond the visit itself.” ©D23 That’s not all, though! There will also be a panel on November 16th at 12 PM called Lunch and Learn. Here, Andrew Bolstein, President and General Manager of Shanghai Disney Resort, will use his three decades of global leadership experience across diverse markets, cultures, and operational environments to “share lessons on earning trust, leading through change, navigating cultural differences, and aligning high-performing teams around a shared vision.” He will also use the panel to “explore how resilience, humility, and a commitment to developing people can strengthen organizations, deliver exceptional results, and elevate standards across the attractions industry.” ©Disney We have a feeling these are going to be great panels, so if you’re attending the event in November, we suggest adding these to the top of your priority list! 5. Let’s be honest
Your Disney trip will absolutely be magical, but it won’t be every single minute. From long wait times for attractions to trying to grab a hard-to-get reservation, some things can be quite annoying. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad But don’t worry — we’ve got you covered with some “cheats” for these problems! No time to waste
let’s get right into them! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Skip The Dining Reservations We talk about dining A LOT here at the Disney Food Blog, but you know what we also talk about a lot? LOUNGES! We love a good lounge — no stress about getting dining reservations, no prix-fixe menu or outrageous prices, and it’s the perfect escape during a chaotic park day! Some of our favorites are Nomad Lounge in Animal Kingdom, the Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge in Hollywood Studios, and the Turf Club Lounge at Saratoga Springs Resort. Nomad Lounge If you were looking to dine at one of the table-service restaurants but don’t have to worry about getting a dining reservation, check if they have a walk-up waitlist! If they do and have availability, all you have to do is wait for your name to be called — no waking up at 6 AM in hopes of grabbing a Cinderella’s Royal Table reservation and failing. Cinderella’s Royal Table REVIEW: The Disney World Lounge Refurbishment We Didn’t Know We Needed, but Can’t Live Without It’s Okay To Leave And Come Back Park days can get extremely overwhelming (and exhausting). We know you spent a lot of money to be there, but you know what else you spent a lot of money on? Your hotel room. It’s okay to take a mid-day break and come back when you’re refreshed. Go take a shower. Go take a nap. Just relax in bed and charge your devices (including you!) By the time you’re done with that, you’ll be revitalized and ready to take on the rest of your day! Disney’s Beach Club Resort Disney World Drops MAJOR Hotel Discount — Save Up to $250 Per Night! Knock Out Some Shows During Peak Times Disney attraction wait times can get up there, especially during peak seasons like spring break, summer, and the holidays! If you’re visiting during that time, watch the wait times. Rope drop some of the bigger rides in the morning, watch some shows and live entertainment during the day, and go back to the bigger rides when the wait times drop at night. Not only will you experience more during your trip, but you’ll also get a break in the air-conditioning for most shows! Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room A Brand New Scene Was JUST Added to a Disney World Show Dress Stylish, But Comfortable Your Disney park outfit doesn’t need to be extravagant or expensive — it just needs to be comfortable! You can still dress the part while wearing something enjoyable. So, that’s why we recommend grabbing the Megababe Thigh Rescue Anti-Chafe Mini Stick! This stick is great for both preventing and treating chafes. Simply rub the stick on the affected areas and let it work its magic! ©Amazon It’s made with natural ingredients like aloe, pomegranate, and grapeseed oil to soothe, moisturize, and protect chafe-prone skin. view ON AMAZON The next time you take a trip to Disney, remember these “cheat codes” to avoid any annoying park problems! 8. Disney World recently announced major changes to the My Disney Experience app, including an AI feature. This feature can help families book trips more efficiently and let guests enter specifics to get curated results. ©Disney Like any Disney announcement, fans have shared their thoughts on the changes. The AI feature will be rolled out to beta testers soon, but in the meantime, Disney fans are sharing their thoughts on the new addition. We took to social media to see how everyone was feeling about the changes, and one commenter said, “Not a fan of every company pushing AI into every bit of everything. I can already predict it malfunctioning and a clueless family not paying attention. Just a lack of people thinking for themselves. If I’m planning a vacation that costs as much as Disney does currently, I’m not leaving it to an AI assistant.” ©Disney Another said, “Not on board with AI. Very disappointing and will not be using. Ew.” Some commenters expressed “Literally no one wants this!! In fact, everyone HATES this idea! We need less AI, not more” and “No, keep AI out of Disney planning.” ©Disney Others were concerned about the environmental impacts and said, “The creators of AI said it could eliminate humanity in the next decade, but ya let’s add to the problem for absolutely no reason .” Someone else said, “Go on Kilimanjaro Safari, and they tell you not to use AI. So umm
” A lot of people had straight-up “No AI” points. “Please no more AI! I’m tired ” and “Keep AI out of Disney” are similar comments we saw from fans. Another said, “Ewwwwww, Disney giving us more of what nobody wants” ©Disney We generally try to find comments supporting both sides to show what Disney fans are thinking, but honestly, we struggled to find positive comments. It seems most people aren’t happy about these changes and the increased incorporation of AI into Disney. The new feature will be optional, and you can still plan the old-fashioned way if that’s what you’re interested in. ©Disney Someone else said, “There are so many sweet free Disney travel planners though!! We really didn’t need this. ” and we agree that travel agents can help you plan the best trip ever. If you’re looking at planning a trip, we recommend our friends at Small World Vacations! 10. Heads up, Annual Passholders: You may want to make your way to Hollywood Studios ASAP. Key Lime Kermit Milkshake Next week, a trio of AP perks is going to disappear from the park once known as Disney/MGM Studios! All three Muppet-themed perks debuted on August 11th — not so coincidentally during Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets’ first summer — and all three will disappear on September 24th! Opening day crowds Kermit Passholder Magnet This Kermit magnet — featuring the famous frog himself wielding a banjo, “It’s Not Easy Being Green” style — is available to Annual Passholders at the Mickey Shorts Theater from park opening to close, while supplies last. To pick it up, AP’s will need to show their Annual Pass and a form of identification. Kermit Annual Passholder Magnet Kermit Photopass Speaking of Kermit and his banjo, there is also an exclusive Kermit Photo Pass opportunity located at the park. Located at the end of Hollywood Boulevard from 10 AM to 4 PM daily, this photo-op allows guests to pick up a banjo themselves and pose. Through some PhotoPass magic, Kermit will show up right beside you strumming along himself. ©Disney Kermit Milkshake Finally, the Dockside Diner is offering an Annual Passholder-exclusive Key Lime Kermit Milkshake for $10.79. ©Disney The shake is made with vanilla ice cream, key lime cake crumbs, key lime sauce, and sprinkles. When we first tried it, we were honestly expecting thick, custardy, tart, typical Key Lime flavors, and we weren’t getting that. Instead, we got a very creamy vanilla milkshake with a hint of lime. The cake was really pleasant because you get sips where bits of cake come up the straw with the vanilla ice cream and a tiny bit of lime flavor. Overall, it was very refreshing, and if you’re a vanilla ice cream or milkshake fan, this is absolutely a perfect treat with a tiny bit of lime flavor. Key Lime Kermit Milkshake If you’re an Annual Passholder who wants to take advantage of these Kermit-centric AP perks, make your way to Hollywood Studios by September 24th! This show is getting an update with new scenes from the 1960s, 1980s, the new millennium, and a possible future. The pre-show of this attraction will include a Walt Disney Audio Animatronic. At this year’s D23 Expo, Disney announced that Bryan Cranston and Jamie Lee Curtis will be voicing the roles of Father and Mother, respectively. The attraction is slated to open in late spring 2027. 15. It’s not every day you get to meet a boy band LEGEND while previewing a new restaurant, but that just happened, and seriously, will y’all just pinch us already? Let’s eat some hot dogs! So we had the opportunity to attend a media preview of Fat Ones Hot Dogs and Italian Ice, a brand new restaurant opening soon at Universal Orlando’s CityWalk. The restaurant is owned by NSYNC’s Joey Fatone and his manager Joe Mulvihill. We got to eat some hot dogs and Italian Ice, and we got to meet Joey and Joe IN THE FLESH. We’re still not recovering, so we’re going to bring you along with us. Fat One’s Hot Dogs and Italian Ice is a quick-service chain that will officially open at Universal Orlando’s CityWalk on September 19th. The menu includes signature hot dogs, loaded pop fries, Italian ice, and draft beer. The restaurant replaces the former Hot Dog Hall of Fame location, which closed on July 19th. There it is! We attended a media preview where we got to see Joey and Joe, who took questions and talked about the new restaurant. We also got to try out a few of the hot dogs and some of the Italian ice flavors on the menu. But first, we had to ask what their favorite item on the menu was. Joey said it was The Angelo, while Joe said his favorite was The Cubano. We got to talk to them and everything! Here’s a quick look at the food menu: Food menu And here’s a look at the Italian ice and beverages menu Italian Ice menu Okay, now we have to talk about the food. We got to try Joey’s favorite (which is also now our fave), The Angelo ($10.49), a hot dog with tzatziki, tomatoes, red onion, olive tapenade, feta, and fresh dill on a brioche bun. Joey described it as a Mediterranean take on a hot dog, and he’s SO right. It’s fresh and light, but still loaded with flavor. The tzatziki adds a tanginess, while the veggies add a nice crunch. The dill brings in some brightness, while the feta and olive tapenade are more subtle and blend in with the other flavors. This is a hot dog that could pretty much please anyone. The Angelo We also had a chance to try The Fat One ($15.99), which is a footlong hot dog piled with roasted pork, pepperoni, chili beans, cheddar cheese sauce, red onion sauce, and fries on a soft bun. It’s a lot, and it’s messy, and we really hope you’re hungry if you order this. The meat flavors are most of what you get in each bite, along with a hint of flavor from the beans and the mild, creamy cheese sauce. The fries add a crispy potato flavor to each bite. This is for those of you who love loaded hot dogs. The Fat One We were also served samples of four Italian Ice flavors! We think these are just sample sizes and not full sizes, though, so keep that in mind. A small Italian Ice is $5.79, while a large is $6.79. You can also get an Italian Ice with alcohol for $13.79. Samples of Italian Ice flavors The Tropical Twist has a very similar flavor to POG juice, so you know we loved it. It’s refreshing with a sweet passion fruit flavor and a hint of citrus. We loved that it wasn’t SUPER sweet, though. Tropical Twist The Cherry tasted very artificial to us, but it’s still refreshing. This is probably one kids will really love. Cherry The Cotton Candy really surprised us because it was such a complex flavor. It tasted just like cotton candy with sweetness, but we also got some fruitiness with each bite. It wasn’t sugary sweet, though. Cotton Candy The Lemon was both tart and sweet, and pretty much doubles as a frozen lemonade. This is the one you’ll crave when it’s hot and humid in Florida, for sure! One thing that also impressed us is how well these stayed frozen! Lemon We enjoyed a chance to try Fat Ones Hot Dogs and Italian Ice early, but we’ll be back to try some other things on the menu when the restaurant opens on September 19th, so stay tuned to DFB for more reviews. 16. Heading to Disney Springs in the morning? There are some great breakfast options to check out! Homecomin’ You could grab a breakfast sandwich from Earl of Sandwich or stop by Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew for a sweeter treat. If you’re really feeling rebellious, you could even kick off the morning with a cookie from Gideon’s Bakehouse (it’s vacation, baby!). But one of the best morning meals is brunch at Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’! Unfortunately, brunch at Homecomin’ only happens on the weekends, from 9:30 AM to 1 PM. But if you’re craving a breakfast-like treat on other days of the week, there’s hope for you yet! Why? Because the Thigh High Chicken Biscuits are available all day long. Thigh High Chicken Biscuits Now, the Thigh High Chicken Biscuits aren’t currently available on the brunch menu, but the cheddar cheese drop biscuits they’re served on are. And the combo of fried chicken, a cheesy biscuit, pickles, and hot honey? That sounds like a delightful brunch option to us! They’re savory with a hint of sweetness and some spice to tie it all together. A truly well-rounded menu item. Who’s ready for some delicious eats? But here’s the trick — a trio of these biscuits is $20 on the appetizer menu. If you and your pals head to Homecomin’ at 11 AM on weekdays when they open for lunch, you could split this app three ways. That comes out to $6.67 a person before tax and tip, which is not a bad price to pay at all for these hearty biscuits. You could pay just as much grabbing a breakfast sandwich elsewhere! You can also get these with all white meat as an off-menu upcharge (the most delicious way, in our opinion). Thigh High Chicken Biscuits And if biscuits aren’t your thing, another great option to split for a late breakfast would be the Fried Chicken & Doughnuts plate, which also feels pretty brunch-y. It’s $32 and comes with Art’s famous fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and doughnuts from Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew. Fried Chicken & Doughnuts So those are our breakfast hacks for a non-brunch day at Homecomin’! If you head to the restaurant to try these items out, let us know how you like it! 18. ‘Tis the Season of Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice! And I don’t know about you, but I decided to celebrate a bit differently this year
It’s Pumpkin Spice Season! My typical Pumpkin Spice Season begins (probably much like yours ) the day Starbucks tells me it does, with the date announcement of the annual return of their fall drinks. Next, I give myself a literal allowance to make sure I don’t completely bust the budget on Pumpkin Cream Cold Brews. This year, though, I decided to branch out a bit and try a few new-to-me drinks, which led me to the Pumpkin Carriage Cold Brew by Joffrey’s. And if you’re a fellow Pumpkin Person, then stick with me, because this is a WHOLE THING, y’all
The Pumpkin Carriage Cold Brew has returned for its second year to Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea kiosks all over Disney World. Pumpkin Carriage Cold Brew I’m not going to lie. What drew me to the Pumpkin Carriage Cold Brew in the first place was its perfectly Disney moniker, referencing Cinderella’s enchanted transportation to the Royal Ball. But it took me a few weeks to come around to ordering it, because the description is
well, it’s A LOT. The Pumpkin Carriage Cold Brew features Joffrey’s Pumpkin CrĂšme BrĂ»lĂ©e Cold Brew with pumpkin spice syrup, vanilla syrup, and cream. Then it’s topped with pumpkin whipped cream (PUMPKIN. WHIPPED. CREAM.) and sprinkled with cinnamon. Pumpkin Carriage Cold Brew Frankly, I avoided this drink for some time, assuming it would be sweetness overload. But I kept coming back to the idea and finally gave in, placing my order at the Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea kiosk at the Disney World Transportation & Ticket Center, and paying my $7.49 (though with my 20% discount that Joffrey’s gives to Disney World Annual Passholders). And next? Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea kiosk at the Disney World Transportation & Ticket Center Well, I enjoyed what ended up being quite a pleasant surprise. First things first: Yes, the Pumpkin Carriage Cold Brew is absolutely made for sweet coffee lovers. And yet, somehow, it isn’t cloying or saccharine. In fact, the very first sip was almost a bit bitter to my tastes (perhaps just from expecting a sugar rush), but this was fixed simply by giving the whole thing a good stir. And from here, the Pumpkin Carriage Cold Brew ends up being as delightful as its name. Each sip delivers on its pumpkin promise, complete with a richness thanks to the cream. It’s so rich, actually, that my first thought was, “Oh, this is one of those once-a-year drinks.” You know those, right? They’re the kind you allow yourself once in a blue moon, and then you’re good for the long haul until it comes ’round again
That said, I’m hoping to hit up Hollywood Studios next week to check out The Magic of Disney Animation, and I suddenly find myself wondering how I am going to resist this when I’m there: Pumpkin Whipped Cream THIS is pumpkin whipped cream. Is it the most authentic pumpkin flavor you’ll ever taste? No. Honestly, most of the pumpkin flavor comes through in the drink itself from the pumpkin spice syrup. But the whipped cream carries just a hint of spice boosted further by the cinnamon, and it’s also a pretty pale orange for an extra touch of autumn vibes (and a nod to the Pumpkin Carriage, of course). It’s really a terrific topper. Pumpkin Whipped Cream Look, I know what it’s like to have a favorite drink you can ONLY get for a certain season, and it can be hard to stray. That’s me with Pumpkin Cream Cold Brews (which, BTW, you can order up right now around Disney World at Starbucks locations such as Magic Kingdom’s Main Street Bakery, Animal Kingdom’s Creature Comforts, and more). “See You Real Soon” But if you are looking for something a little extra special to sip during Pumpkin Spice Season that is unique to your Disney World visit, then I highly recommend giving the Pumpkin Carriage Cold Brew a try! You can find it at Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea kiosks in the theme parks (there is at least one in every park, including Magic Kingdom’s Joffrey’s Revive, and even beyond with locations in Disney Springs and the Contemporary Resort). Until next time, Pumpkin Peeps

  19. A popular Disney World gelato store has expanded outside the bubble! Vivoli Il Gelato Vivoli Il Gelato has officially opened its fifth location, and we had the opportunity to check it out! And guess what? The new location has an exclusive flavor you can’t find anywhere else! Let’s check it out! In the Disney World property, you can find this gelato store at two carts in Disney Springs, a storefront in Disney Springs, and a cart at Disney’s Riviera Resort. Vivoli Il Gelato’s fifth location is located just five minutes from Disney World property at the Flamingo Crossings Town Center in Winter Garden. They are open every day from 10 AM to 10 PM. Vivoli Il Gelato You may be thinking, ‘Why Flamingo Crossings?’ Well, they actually have a partnership with the owners of Simply Capri and Flatlands Bar & Grill, which are also located in the Flamingo Crossings Town Center. This isn’t the first place you could get their gelato in the area because Simply Capri actually sells their gelato — Vivoli Il Gelato added a storefront for guests to have more flavors to choose from! Inside Vivoli Il Gelato Another reason for their expansion was due to space. They actually don’t have a lot of space between Disney Springs and the Riviera Resort, so this new storefront opens up the space a lot more! It also allows them to expand and reach more customers, especially since they are located across from where the Disney College Program participants live. Vivoli Il Gelato Remember how I mentioned an exclusive flavor? Well, there’s actually TWO right now! Introducing the Tiramisu gelato and the tiramisu affogato. The gelato is an exclusive flavor to Flamingo Crossings, and the affogato is only here for a limited time, but more flavors are to come! Tiramisu Affogato The tiramisu gelato used to be a flavor offered at Disney Springs, but it hasn’t been available for years. It comes with ladyfingers, which give the gelato a different texture with each bite. It has that rich espresso flavor and is smooth and creamy throughout. The espresso is a bit bitter, but the ladyfingers add a touch of sweetness that brings it all together. Tiramisu Gelato The affogato version is extremely similar but is a lot richer with the espresso in it. It also comes with ladyfingers on it, which we actually recommend dipping instead of getting in every bite like the gelato! And if you don’t want them to be on the crunchier side, you can always leave them in the affogato to soak up all of that flavor to the point they become soft. This was another great treat in our books, and if you want to try it, head over sooner rather than later because it’s only here for a limited time! Tiramisu Affogato The Flamingo Crossings location will also be the first Vivoli Il Gelato location to sell pints! The flavors that are available in pints will be flavors found at Disney Springs, such as coconut, peanut butter, and more. These pints are located in a freezer and are based on a grab-and-go system, so availability may vary. The pints are in these freezers! Another great aspect of this location is that it is FULLY peanut-free! Peanut butter gelato can still be purchased as a pint, but it is not available in scoops. The flavor is actually made at Disney Springs and brought to this location — they don’t make any gelato containing peanuts here! Vivoli Il Gelato It’s very authentic when it comes to being an Italian shop because about 90% of the store’s decor and build is shipped from Italy. How cool! Inside Vivoli Il Gelato We also got a sneak peek into what’s to come this holiday season, including new flavors, drinks, and more! For Christmas, Vivoli Il Gelato will have a hot chocolate with a marshmallow topping that they’ll TORCH! There will also be a version of this with a scoop of gelato on it. Another special offering will be the Drunken Elf — a chocolate martini with candy canes. This will only be available at the Disney Springs location because the Flamingo Crossings location does not have a liquor license. Finally, a gingerbread tiramisu will be available during the holidays. Christmas at Disney Springs Vivoli Il Gelato is viewing this space as their “test kitchen,” as well. If there is a new flavor dropping, it’ll most likely be available at Flamingo Crossings first since they’re testing it out there! Another cool thing about this location is that it’s the only place in Orlando where you can find a CrĂšme de CafĂ©, or frozen cappuccino! It’s EXTREMELY creamy and reminded us of a cappuccino in a soft gelato form. It’s frozen, but not to the point where you’d get a brain freeze. We were big fans of this one! Creme de Cafe Edible waffle cone cup? SAY LESS! This is the first time a waffle cone coffee cup has been made — you probably won’t find it anywhere else other than Vivoli Il Gelato! The cup is pretty thick, so you don’t have to worry about it breaking with gelato in it. Why have your gelato in a paper cup when you can have it in a waffle cup and eat it afterwards — it’s the best of both worlds! However, since it’s so thick, just be prepared for your teeth and use those molars. The Edible Waffle Cone Coffee Cup! We’re so happy that Vivoli Il Gelato opened another location because not only is there more space, but they also feature exclusive flavors and offerings you can’t find anywhere else! 21. Greetings, explorers and adventurers! In August, a group of Imagineers presented at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event and brought an unopened crate from the Society of Explorers and Adventurers (S.E.A.) Archive to share with the public. However, when the crate was opened for the very first time, the Imagineers and the audience were shocked to find nothing inside but a pile of bricks and a mysterious note: After the S.E.A.’s artifact went missing at D23, they asked for our help to figure out the thief’s name! The Society says the thief is leaving riddles behind with clues to their name, but the letters are in the wrong order. Once players unscramble all of the letters, a brand-new S.E.A. character will be revealed!  These riddles can all be solved online by looking up images of Disneyland. While Disneyland serves as the inspiration for this adventure, the riddles can be solved completely at home. S.E.A. Archivist Bonnie Booker says this is the perfect adventure for explorers to prove themselves as honorary S.E.A. field researchers! She has been sending us riddles, clues, and information via the Walt Disney Imagineering Instagram page — let’s see what we know so far! Our first riddle, discovered by Bonnie Booker, seems to allude to Main Street, U.S.A. What do you think? Here’s the next one she sent to us to solve: Astute explorers think this one may be referencing the Lilly Belle car on the Disneyland Railroad. And here’s the third riddle we’ve received: In addition to this riddle, Bonnie Booker found a potentially relevant clipping in the S.E.A. archives from a newsletter dated March 1886: At this point, we’ve gathered so much information about this mysterious thief that Bonnie Booker decided it would be prudent to compile everything and see what we have discovered so far. As she explained, “We’ve answered many questions but only brought up more!” Including the third riddle, the letters we’ve solved for are: T, L, and A. Remember: the thief is leaving riddles behind with clues to their name, with a letter as the answer to each riddle. However, these letters are scrambled and in the wrong order! Through these riddles we have also learned the following about the thief: They were rejected from the Society of Explorers and Adventurers. They potentially stole the “Ridge Jewel” mentioned in the 1886 news clipping. They somehow leave clues across different time periods. Our pals over at Walt Disney Imagineering have been attempting to make sense of all this information too — don’t miss the mystery board they built to keep track of everything that has been uncovered so far! And speaking of, here’s the fourth riddle: This one seems to all but confirm that the Ridge Jewel is our missing artifact! But if the Jewel was found in Rainbow Ridge in 1886
how could the thief be leaving riddles for us to find today? Luckily, the fifth riddle found by Bonnie found us a bit more information: Mention after mention in the riddles of what we can safely assume is the Ridge Jewel! But who stole it? And when? All we can do is wait patiently for Bonnie Booker to uncover more clues. If you have any leads, please report in to @WaltDisneyImagineering on Instagram to share your findings and check back here for further updates. We need all the help we can get! 23. If you ask us, Disney’s Silver Era — the run of animated classics released between 1950 and 1967 — produced some of the most beloved characters and stories in the entire Disney canon. Cinderella Cinderella, Alice, Peter Pan, Lady and Tramp, Sleeping Beauty, the 101 Dalmatians, Wart and Merlin, and Mowgli all came out of this stretch of movie magic, and Disney fans have never stopped loving them. Lucky for us, Amazon has a whole lineup of shirts celebrating these classic films, and they’re quickly becoming go-to park outfits (and everyday wear) for fans who want to rep the throwback side of Disney animation. Here are the Silver Era tees everyone seems to be adding to their cart right now. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Get this Cinderella tee on Amazon! ©Amazon First up is this Cinderella T-Shirt, a perfect pick for anyone who has ever believed in the power of a little Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo. Cinderella’s story of hope and transformation has stuck with generations of Disney fans, and this tee is an easy way to bring that magic into your everyday wardrobe or your next trip to the castle. It’s a laid-back way to channel your inner princess without going full ballgown, and it pairs easily with shorts, jeans, or a park-day skirt. view ON AMAZON This Alice in Wonderland shirt is for fans! ©Amazon Next, we’re loving this Alice in Wonderland T-Shirt, which taps into one of the most colorful stories in Disney’s whole library. Alice in Wonderland has built a serious cult following over the years, thanks to its cast of oddball characters like the Mad Hatter, the Cheshire Cat, and the Queen of Hearts, and this shirt is a great way to show off your love for the weird and wonderful side of Disney. It’s a fun statement piece for fans who want their Disney style to feel a little more whimsical than the usual mouse ears. view ON AMAZON We love this Captain Hook shirt! ©Amazon For the fans who love a good villain, there’s this Peter Pan Captain Hook Ship Stamp Graphic T-Shirt. Instead of going the sweet, sentimental route, this design spotlights the Jolly Roger and Captain Hook himself, stamped in a vintage-postage style that feels more like a collector’s item than your average character tee. It’s a fun pick for anyone who’s always had a soft spot for Neverland’s resident scoundrel, and it adds a little pirate edge to an otherwise classic lineup. view ON AMAZON Or, you can grab this Tony’s shirt! ©Amazon If you’re a sucker for a good love story, you’ll want this Lady and the Tramp Tony’s Pasta Pizza Vintage Logo T-Shirt. Instead of putting Lady and Tramp themselves front and center, this design leans into Tony’s, the Italian restaurant behind that iconic spaghetti dinner scene, done up like a retro pizzeria logo. It’s a clever, low-key way to reference one of the most famous moments in Disney history without wearing the characters’ faces, and it makes a genuinely fun conversation starter for anyone who catches the reference. view ON AMAZON Don’t forget to grab this Sleeping Beauty tee! ©Amazon Next on the list is this Sleeping Beauty “You’re the One I Dreamed About” Comic T-Shirt, which pulls its design straight from the pages of a vintage comic book rather than a typical movie poster. Featuring Aurora’s dreamy line to Prince Phillip, this tee taps into that swooning, storybook-romance side of Sleeping Beauty that’s made the film such a longtime favorite. It’s a fun choice for anyone who loves the retro comic-art aesthetic just as much as the classic fairy tale itself. view ON AMAZON Get this Cruella T-shirt on Amazon! ©Amazon This one’s for the villain lovers — this 101 Dalmatians “Savage” Cruella De Vil Sassy Portrait T-Shirt skips the puppies entirely in favor of the film’s deliciously dramatic antagonist. Cruella De Vil has become one of Disney’s most iconic villains, all sharp cheekbones, fur, and attitude, and this sassy portrait design leans hard into that over-the-top glamour. It’s a great pick for anyone who’d rather channel Cruella’s confidence than Pongo and Perdita’s sweetness. view ON AMAZON This Sword in the Stone shirt is a classic! ©Amazon Fans of the underdog story will love this The Sword in the Stone T-Shirt. Wart’s journey from awkward orphan to the future King Arthur is one of the more underrated tales in the Disney lineup, guided along the way by the lovably eccentric wizard Merlin. This shirt is a great way to celebrate a Silver Era film that doesn’t always get its due. view ON AMAZON And finally, you can grab this Jungle Book shirt! ©Amazon Rounding out the list is this The Jungle Book King Louie Neon Dance Sketch T-Shirt, a tribute to the film that closed out Disney’s Silver Era in style. Instead of going the traditional route, this design puts King Louie front and center in a loose, neon-lit sketch style that captures all his swinging, scatting energy (we see you, “I Wan’na Be Like You”). It’s a fun pick for anyone who wants their Disney style to feel a little more animated and a little less buttoned-up. view ON AMAZON We’re always on the hunt for the latest and greatest Disney souvenirs and essentials, so don’t forget to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for more! 24. A new booth has just opened at the 2026 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival, and we have all the delicious details! The Wedge The 2026 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival has officially opened, and it has a LOT to offer. There are plenty of food booths with tasty items, merchandise items to grab (of course), and even concerts to watch. But don’t let it overwhelm you; we’ve got you covered with everything you need to know. And now we’re heading to one spot in particular — the all-new The Wedge booth has finally opened, and we’re checking it out! Menu At The Wedge, it’s all about cheese, with new dishes and past Festival favorites returning with a new spin. New this year: Crab and Corn Macaroni and Cheese, a selection of cheeses (also a 30th anniversary legacy item), a wine and cheese pairing, and a Cannoli Shake. A couple of mac and cheese dishes have found a home at The Wedge — Cheesesteak Macaroni and Cheese and Three Cheese Macaroni and Cheese. Full menu Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu, let’s dive into the food itself! Eats First up, we grabbed the new Crab and Corn Macaroni and Cheese with Smoked Cheddar Sauce, Bacon, Crab Seasoning, Roasted Corn, Herbed Panko, and Jalapeños. This item is priced at $7.19. Y’all
this is as good as it sounds
or maybe even better. The flavors are so well-balanced, and we were surprised at the amount of savory crab there is in the bowl. But the crab doesn’t overpower the lovely, creamy cheesiness of the mac and cheese. Instead, it complements it. The corn and green beans add a touch of an earthy taste and texture. Crab and corn macaroni and cheese The Cheesesteak Macaroni and Cheese with Shaved Beef, Peppers, Onions, and Bread Crumbs ($6.49) debuts at The Wedge after previously being on the menu at Macatizers in 2024. Back then, this dish wowed us with flavor. Now, this is heavier than the crab and corn dish, so if you want to fill up a bit more, this could be a winner. It’s just salty enough, and somehow, the mac and cheese is even creamier and cheesier. The beef adds a nice contrast, as do the peppers and onions that add some texture and some sharpness. Cheesesteak macaroni and cheese Next up is the Three Cheese Macaroni and Cheese with smoked cheddar sauce and herbed panko for $5.49. A version of this dish was originally at Mac and Eats in 2022, and then at Macatizers in 2024. Both times we found the dish to be somewhat disappointing. Three Cheese Macaroni and Cheese The Wedge is also serving up a selection of cheeses this year. If you want to enjoy wine AND cheese, though, you’ll find a new Wine & Cheese Pairing on the menu too. Wine and Cheese Pairing Let’s start with the cheese. The cheddar had a firm, solid bite. It wasn’t anything special and was just your basic cheddar. But it’s even better dipped into the jam to add some sweetness. The blue cheese is firm and crumbly and just falls apart in your mouth. Now, we know this one is controversial, so you’ll appreciate it if you’re a blue cheese person. Our favorite cheese was the Ridge Reserve. Selection of Cheeses It’s softer, and each bite was satisfying, with a rich, sweet, and savory flavor. This one BEGS to be dipped in the jam. The raisins and nuts are nice additions. The raisins add a nice sweetness, while the nuts give you some salty crunch. Drinks Another new item at The Wedge this year is the non-boozy Cannoli Milk Shake topped with Chocolate Shavings, Cannoli Shell, and a Maraschino Cherry for $5.49. First, this drink looks cute, and we’re sure it will be a hit with kids. It tastes like a high-quality vanilla milkshake, but we appreciated that it wasn’t too thick, so we could drink it easily. The size is also perfect
it’s not too big, not too small! The canoli is crunchy and tender, but the trick is to let it soak in the milkshake until it gets soft. Cannoli Milk Shake Three wines are also available at The Wedge: NEW! Bodegas Avancia Old Vines Godello, Valdeorras, Spain — $8.50 NEW! Las Jaras Superbloom RosĂ©, Sebastopol, CA — $8.50 Caymus Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley, CA — $13.00 If you want to sample all three wines, there is a Wine Flight for $12.50, but you can also get it as part of the Cheese and Wine Pairing. Now, on to the wines! You get three wines to sample. The Wedge Wine Flight The Bodegas Avancia Old Vines Godello has a sweet-meets-sour citrus flavor. It’s sweet on the first sip, but then the sour kinda’ comes through right after. It’s also an easy wine to drink and pairs well with cheeses. Bodegas Avancia Old Vines Godello The Las Jaras Superbloom RosĂ© is bright, and we got hints of salted watermelon, rhubarb, and tart cherry with hints of strawberry. This is the sweetest of the three wines. Las Jaras Superbloom RosĂ© The Caymus Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon immediately got our attention because it smelled like blackberries. The flavor is bold and fruity, with its prominent flavors being cherry, blackberry, cocoa, and sweet vanilla oak. Caymus Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon So, what’s the verdict on this new booth? OVERALL We’re just going to tell you to run — don’t walk — to this booth (okay, just walk really fast because Disney frowns on running in the parks). If you love cheese and wine, you’re going to fall in love with everything here, but don’t skip out on the mac and cheeses, too, because two of the three are some of the favorites that we’ve ever tasted. The Wedge is only open through November 8th, so you’ll want to make a note to hit up this booth before it closes ahead of the festival’s official closing date (November 21st). 25. SeaWorld Orlando is known for its breathtaking animals, exhilarating rides, and super fun live entertainment. But unfortunately, not every theme park day is without some issues. ©SeaWorld If you smelled sewage at SeaWorld Orlando earlier this September, Orange County just announced why. A broken pipe at a wastewater facility next to SeaWorld’s Aquatica water park spilled 342,000 gallons of sewage into the open. A broken pipe at a wastewater facility leaked 342,000 gallons of sewage at 3705 Sea Splash Way, just down the road from the SeaWorld parks and next to Aquatica water park’s parking lot, in two separate incidents on September 6th and 10th, according to Orange County and reported by the Orlando Sentinel. Aquatica wasn’t impacted by the sewage leak, according to a SeaWorld spokesperson. The site of the sewage leak (red pin) in reference to Aquatica Orlando and SeaWorld Orlando The spill was contained and redirected into the sewage system after 100 trucks responded to the scene, and the pipe was repaired and back in service as of Wednesday the 16th. Orange County has not said what caused the two pipe breakages. SeaWorld The incident was immediately reported to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, and Orange County has stated that no surface water was contaminated, including nearby areas that drain into Shingle Creek, the headwaters of the Florida Everglades. 26. We’ve been following the recent news regarding Disney filing a First Amendment lawsuit against the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) after unusual pressure from the federal government forced the company’s stations to submit licenses for early renewal proceedings. ©ABC Recently, the FCC asked a federal judge to toss out Disney’s lawsuit, and while U.S. District Judge Loren AliKhan in Washington has a hearing on the lawsuit scheduled for October 6th, we have another update on the situation — Disney has now said that the threats the President has made against reporters and broadcast networks are grounds for a United States judge to block the FCC from reviewing Disney’s eight ABC station licenses early. According to Yahoo! news, Disney ‌and ABC said in a court filing that FCC Chair Brendan Carr has made clear he is carrying out Trump’s specific directives that are “aimed at curbing speech critical of the administration.” The company then went on to say that while the implementation of these actions are improper, they made sense since if the President deems he is “insufficiently responsive to his directives,” he could be removed. ©ABC Carr ordered the early reviews this past April, even though the ABC stations’ license renewals were not scheduled to be considered before October 2028. This is the first time in over 50 years that the FCC has ordered an early review, which was filed the day after Trump ‌urged ABC to fire late-night host Jimmy Kimmel. Disney has also cited specific threats the President has recently made towards journalists at NBC, including “Meet the Press” anchor Kristen Welker and an ABC White House reporter. After Welker noted the Republican president’s success in endorsing ‌political candidates has been mixed, the President threatened she would be reported to the FCC for “rebuke or punishment.” ©NBC Disney also noted that Carr warned after Trump’s threat that the commission could soon issue guidance to broadcast television networks over what he called “fake polls.” However, on Wednesday, Carr declined to comment on whether he would pursue action against Welker. Legal experts who have commented on the matter have stated that Welker’s comments are protected by the First Amendment. Disney also stated that Carr is following Trump’s “retaliatory directives and using early license renewals to punish broadcasters for disfavored speech.” ©Comcast Broadcast stations, such as ABC and NBC, need FCC licenses ‌to use public airwaves. FCC revocations are extremely rare, but even the threat of losing a license is enough to pressure broadcasters and raise concerns about government interference in programming decisions. 27. The EPCOT Food & Wine Festival is well underway and will be running through November 21st. Now, we’ve already eaten our way through most of the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival booths, but some food booths and experiences didn’t open until a little later, including a cool interactive exhibit that’s all about cheese! CommuniCore Hall We just visited the Cheers to Cheese exhibit at EPCOT, and all we can say is that, yep, we STILL really love cheese. Cheers to Cheese is an interactive exhibit where you can explore the history of cheese and learn a lot of fun facts about this delicious dairy concoction. You’ll find the exhibit in CommuniCore Hall from September 18th through November 8th. An exhibit
all about cheese? Say no more! We are SO there. So, yes, we visited Cheers to Cheese, and we’re taking you with us. Cheers to Cheese at CommuniCore Hall Walking in, you’re immediately hit with visuals and smells of cheese! There are so many exhibits to check out with facts about cheese, its history, fun games, and more! Step inside with us! But first, let’s take a look at the space! There are cheese slices hanging from the ceiling (don’t worry, it’s not actually cheese)
 Look at those slices!
and tables that look like cheese! This is also where you’ll find one of the food booths, The Wedge! The Wedge The walls are also decorated with all kinds of cheeses! Look at all of those cheeses! Moving on to the exhibits, we have the Age of Cheese station, which shares the history of cheese and its journey around the world! The Age of Cheese The Spread of Cheese section talks about how different cheese-pressing and aging methods made their way to Europe, and it took no time for cheese to spread throughout the continent thanks to the Roman soldiers. The Spread of Cheese The Prehistoric Cheese section takes us back to over 10,000 years ago when cheese was created
accidentally! This section takes you through ancient China, ancient Egypt, and Greek mythology. Prehistoric Cheese And then, cheese came to America! This gives guests insight into how important cheese was in America as, by the 1840s, the country was home to a booming cheese industry, specifically in Wisconsin! Cheese Comes to America Dive even more into the history of cheese in America with the American Cheestory section, which takes you from the early 1600s all the way to today! The American Cheestory There is also an exhibit to show how cheese is made because — as the sign says — cheese doesn’t just magically appear in your refrigerator (although, I really wish it did). It takes you from the cows to the cheese caves and eventually to the grocery stores! A look into how cheese is made Can’t decide which cheese you want to try? Then you can spin a wheel to help you figure out which cheese is best for you! The wheel gives you options from soft cheeses all the way to hard cheeses, and it gives descriptions of each cheese. Spin that wheel! Another fun thing to do is match different cheeses with other foods to find perfect pairings! The top spinner will give you a type of cheese while the bottom spinners will either give you something sweet, something savory, or something crunchy. Take some pictures and try it back at home! Try it back home! You can also participate in the Cheese of the Day! Choose from 10 different cheeses on the board and slide one of the wheels from left to right to vote for your favorite! At the end of the day, you can return to the board and see which one won! Cheese of the day! Also, in CommuniCore Hall, you can find a small souvenir shop. This shop includes Food and Wine Festival exclusive merchandise, so it’s a great stop to find something to take home! However, not every piece of merchandise can be found here, so you may have to visit Creations Shop for more. The Gift Shop Speaking of cheese, if you do happen to visit the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival, be sure to participate in Emile’s Frontage Montage, a cheese crawl that lets you sample five cheese-based dishes from a list you’ll find inside your festival passport. Once you’ve ordered one of the cheese-based dishes, you’ll get a stamp in the passport. Get five stamps, and you can turn in your passport for a prize. This year’s prize is a mix of Key Lime DOLE Whip with cheesecake soft serve. Emile’s Fromage Montage Finisher Prize We’ll keep an eye out for more EPCOT Food & Wine Festival news, so stay tuned to DFB for more.
