Okay, okay, nobody panic! But we might have just gotten the BEST look at some of the newest projects coming to Disney World. ©Disney Disney CEO Josh D’Amaro has just decided to bless our feeds with a new Instagram post showing a LOT of Behind-the-Scenes looks at three upcoming projects. On his Instagram Josh D’Amaro shared that he recently got the chance to walk through Monstropolis, Tropical Americas, and Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge, and not only did he get to walkthrough but he took a few pictures on his journey. ©Disney Let’s start in Tropical Americas, which is the all-new land coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom that will feature both Encanto and Indiana Jones. ©Disney In these photos, we got an incredible new view of the exterior of the ride Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent, where guests will be traveling into a Mayan Temple where an adventure with Indy himself will take place. We have gotten several aerial views of the exterior of this attraction, but this is the closest-up photo we have seen so far, and it already looks very exciting. ©Disney Moving on to Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge, which is the newest hotel coming to Disney World. This is being built on Bay Lake and is set to join the iconic list of Magic Kingdom hotels, with a focus on exploring the beauty of nature and wildlife. Pocahontas is a large inspiration for the design of the resort. In these photos, we got a look at the lobby construction. ©Disney As well as a look at the construction happening around the exterior of the resort. We cannot wait to visit this new hotel when it officially opens next summer on July 1st, 2027. ©Disney Finally, there is Monstropolis! This is the Monsters, Inc. themed land coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, set to open sometime in 2027. We cannot wait to experience this new land and immerse ourselves in the world of Monsters. Unfortunately, Josh D’Amaro did not share much of a look at this new land. We can see a tablet where the concept art for the show “Welcome to Monstropolis” is on the screen, and we can assume the Imaginners are maybe in the show’s building. However, that is the only look we were able to get here. ©Disney Here is a closer look at that concept art if you have not seen it yet! ©Disney We are obsessed with this behind-the-scenes view of these three projects, and if you want to see Josh D’Amaro’s full post, you can check it out here! For over 40 years, Annual Passholders have made up the backbone of Disney World’s guest base. However, recent price increases have some contemplating walking away from the “Most Magical Place on Earth.” Disney World Annual Pass Recently, we took to our Facebook page to ask our Annual Passholder readers, “Are you keeping your Disney World Annual Pass, or are you thinking about letting it go? If you’re renewing, what still makes it worth the price? And if you’re walking away, what finally changed your mind?” Suffice to say we got fielded some interesting answers from APs. Disney World’s Annual Pass program was born in the early 1980s, after the resort had transitioned from the traditional general admission ticket plus A-E ticket book system. Local guests in Orlando were angry about the elimination of the general admission ticket, as many would purchase the relatively cheaper option to visit the parks to eat, shop, or people-watch without purchasing ride tickets. To assuage these fans and — more importantly to the bottom line — to keep them coming back, Disney introduced the first Annual Passports to Disney World in September of 1982. These passes allowed access to Magic Kingdom and EPCOT Center (when it opened in October of 1982) for a one-year period. The Annual Pass program has evolved a great deal over the years with evolving tiers, discounts, and — of course — the dreaded price increases. That brings us to the most recently announced price changes: Disney Incredi-Pass — $1,749 (from $1,629) Disney Sorcerer Pass — $1,139 (from $1,099) Disney Pirate Pass — $909 (from $869) Disney Pixie Dust Pass — $499 (from $489) Those increases, which have become the annual October event that Disney World fans love to hate, are leading some Passholders to rethink their renewal status, especially given what they perceive as lost overall value. Reader Heather shared, “I didn’t renew in July and don’t regret it. The parks aren’t exciting to me anymore… Maybe I’ll go back someday. For now, I haven’t thought about it much at all.” Magic Kingdom Reader Cheryl wrote, “We arrived in August, and we decided that was our last time. We went as cheap as possible staying at all star music. Sharing meals. Doing without on a 5 day trip. For what we paid for that trip, I could have went somewhere international for a 7 day trip. It’s not for us any longer,” while reader Suellen added, “Not keeping. We love Disney, but it has become too expensive. Moving on to try some new places.” Slinky Dog Dash Others, like Kyle, said they intend to remain Passholders, but will likely downgrade to a lower-level pass. They wrote, “Wife and I had Incredi-Pass, but now we are going to drop down to the pixie pass. Disney is starting to nickel and dime everything to the point that we are starting to favor Universal Studios more now.” Hollywood Studios However, there were also many readers who said they would still be renewing their passes. For example, reader Nate wrote, “With the renewal discount the monthly payment still comes out cheaper than when we bought first time last year on the sorcerer pass.” Reader Arthur wrote a similar sentiment, saying, “As a local that goes to the parks on average 90 -100 days a year, it still makes mathematical sense. My admission averages about $14 per day over the course of the year. I would never do it if I had to use day tickets…it would cost me over $16,000 if the only option was using day tickets, so mathematically it’s a no-brainer.” Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind The sub-group of Passholders who live outside of Florida were some of the most active in the comment section, partially due to the limited options currently available to them. The vast majority of non-Florida Residents can ONLY purchase the Incredi-Pass, AKA the most expensive Annual Pass option. (Some eligible Disney Vacation Club Members, including those living out of state, can also purchase the Sorcerer Pass). They also can’t take advantage of paying for their pass in monthly installments. EPCOT These limitations led to a split. Reader Grace Ann spoke for the out-of-state visitors who are questioning whether to drop from the program, writing, “For out of state AP holders, it’s getting harder to justify. Unless you are able to go at least twice a year for around 5 or more days each trip, it may no longer be worth it.” However, reader Michelle had a different outlook, writing, “I’m an out of state Passholder, and it still makes sense for me since I go 4-5 times a year. When I divide out the cost for each day I actually use it, it’s still like $80 per park day. Compared to a day ticket, that’s a steal!” Disney World Annual Pass Disney World raised the prices on their Annual Passes, and Passholders are split on whether these new prices are worth it! Christmas is CALLING to us! Now, we are not getting ahead of ourselves quite yet; we know there are still a few weeks left for all things spooky in Disney World. Crystal Arts Advent Calendar BUT we can’t help but get excited for the Holiday season to begin at the Most Magical Place on Earth, especially after getting a little sneak peek at some Holiday offerings that can be found at one store in Disney Springs. Crystal Arts by Arribas Brothers is an absolutely gorgeous crystal shop that can be found in Disney World at Disney Springs. The art and craftsmanship of this spot always blows us away, but we got the chance to visit to see some of the offerings they will have this Holiday season, and it was truly incredible. First up, we saw the 2026 Christmas Advent Calendar for $399. Advent Calendar This calendar has 25 days of individually wrapped Arribas Brothers exclusive treasures that cannot be purchased separately, including an exclusive Wish Keepers holiday wand and a four-piece glass choo-choo train that connects together once each piece has been found. This is extremely exclusive, as only 500 were made for Walt Disney World this year. Advent Calendar Train There is also a selection of ornaments that you can purchase at the store this year: Mickey Icon Characters for $79 Crystallized Characters for $59 Character Bubbles for $39 Green Mickey Ornament for $25 Red Cinderella Castle Ornament for $25 So many ornaments to choose from! There will also be a Create Your Own Glass Ornament offering available for $89. This will be a process where you can select a glass, either blue, lime green, or clear; you will then be given a disposable mouthpiece and a tube that will lead up to the side of the glass workstation. You will then be able to blow into the tube and actually create and expand your ornament and participate in real glass blowing. Create Your Own Glass Ornament The ornament will gradually cool over the course of 30 to 40 minutes inside a heating device that will prevent it from cooling too quickly and shattering. After it cools, you are then able to add crystals to the bottom; then you can choose the color of the hook that goes on top and seals the crystals inside the ornament. Create Your Own Glass Ornament Finally, you choose the color of the ribbon used to hang the ornament from your tree. Personalization is also available for an additional charge. This was an amazing experience and a really fun way to create a very unique souvenir from your trip to Disney. Create Your Own Glass Ornament We know we will be back at Arribas Brothers to grab some of these amazing offerings, so if you are taking a trip to Disney this Holiday season, make sure to take a visit to Disney Springs if you want some beautiful and unique souvenirs to remember your trip. There’s pretty much no denying it — Disney vacations are expensive! Disney Wish Atrium You’ll easily shell out a couple thousand dollars, sometimes regardless of the time of year or the fanciness of your accommodations. But could you save money by going on a Disney cruise instead of visiting Disney World? Let’s do the math together! Before we dive into the pricing, let’s set the parameters so that we can make this as fair as possible! I’ll be pricing vacations each time for a family of four with two children ages four and six. I’ll also only be giving prices for the cheapest room options I can find for each date. The mid-range and higher tiers for Disney World hotels and Disney Cruise Line staterooms aren’t as directly comparable, so it’s easier to match up at the bottom level and just vary on dates. Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom I’ll also only be choosing cruises that sail from Port Canaveral, Florida. This is the port closest to Disney World, and therefore travel to and from these destinations would be similar. Now it’s time to crunch the numbers! Disney Cruise Pricing 3 Nights in September Starting out our comparison with the cheapest option, let’s look at a 3-night cruise in September 2027. Pricing a trip for a family of four with two children in an inside stateroom, you could sail from September 10th-13th on the Disney Dream starting at $3,285. Disney Dream This particular cruise is a Halloween on the High Seas sailing. There’s similar pricing for a few other 3-night sailings in September 2027 as well. The price will increase depending on which room you select, as those with more advantageous locations have higher rates. 4 Nights in November For a bit longer of a sailing, the same family of four could do a 4-night Very Merrytime sailing from November 8th-12th, 2027. This cruise is also on the Disney Dream, and the inside staterooms would start you at $4,457 for the whole family. Mickey and Minnie on the Disney Dream for a Very Merrytime cruise! This itinerary includes stops at both of Disney’s island destinations, so you’d really get maximum Disney magic with this particular cruise. It could be a wonderful time! 5 Nights in December The last cruise I’ll price is for five nights in December, running from December 3rd-8th, 2027. This is also a Very Merrytime cruise, but this one sets sail on the newer Disney Destiny cruise ship. With stops at Castaway Cay and Cozumel, inside staterooms for this sailing start at $5,861 for a family of four. Disney Destiny Oceanview with Verandah Stateroom This itinerary gives you nearly a full week of Disney Cruise Line excitement to enjoy, and it falls outside the peak travel season of the month, so hopefully it’ll be less busy than other weeks. Disney World Pricing 3 Nights in September Alright, now this is where things start to get tricky. We have quite a few costs to add up for Disney World in order to match the same value of the cruise. We’ll need hotel rooms and tickets, as well as food costs, considering breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included on a Disney cruise each day. EPCOT The cheapest room option for September 10th-13th, 2027 is a Standard Room at All-Star Sports Resort. To compare this most directly with a cruise, I’m choosing a 3-day ticket option. When you board a cruise ship, the activities start right away, so we’ll do the same here — tickets for the arrival day, as well as the two full days staying at the hotel, but nothing for the checkout day (because you don’t really get to do anything on the last day of your cruise except get off the ship). The total with room and tickets is $2,519.44. All-Star Sports However, we also have to add in the cost of food. Onboard the cruise ship, you can have breakfast and lunch (typically quick-service-style) and a sit-down dinner. You also have pretty much unlimited opportunities for snacks, so we’ll include one per family member. Starting with breakfast, a food item for each family member plus a beverage for each family member (because sodas are included on a Disney cruise) would be about $45. Applying the same rules for a quick-service lunch, you get a cost of about $60. Cosmic Ray’s Now, the real kicker here is dinner. The cruise ship’s rotational dining restaurants offer meals with prix fixe menus, and each person can choose a beverage, appetizer, entree, and dessert. Since these meals often include some kind of in-restaurant entertainment and servers are generally flexible on allowing guests to order and try multiple items, the most similar cost we could compare this to in Disney World would be an all-you-care-to-eat character meal. A dinner like that would run you somewhere around $225 (and that’s not including tax or tip). Add in four $7 snacks per day (that’s about average), and your total Disney World food cost for three full days would be $1,074. Let’s get those snacks! All in all, this means that if you lived it up in Disney World just like a Disney cruise, your 3-day Disney World trip would cost $3,593.44 plus tax and tip on the food. Shockingly, that is $300 more than the Disney cruise for the same time period! 4 Nights in November Let’s move on to the November cruise and see if Disney World can redeem itself. Once again, we’ll do a Standard Room at All-Star Sports Resort, this time for November 8th-12th, 2027. I’ll bump the days on the tickets up to four, and that gives us a room-and-ticket package total of $3,658.26. Animal Kingdom Using that same daily food estimate of $358, the total food budget for the 4-night Disney World trip would be $1,432. This means that the trip total would be $5,090.26, which is more than $600 more expensive than the cruise on the Disney Dream! 5 Nights in December Okay, so Disney World is 0-2 right now, but what about the 5-night trip? Staying at All-Star Sports from December 3rd-8th, 2027 with 5-day tickets costs a total of $4,347.52. The room price gets a good bit higher in early December than it was in November! Disney’s Hollywood Studios The food budget for five days would be a whopping $,1790, which means that your total cost for this trip — to make it as similar to a Disney cruise as possible — would be $6,137.52. Once again, Disney Cruise Line wins, this time by about $300! And one big thing to note here is that you’d be sailing on one of the newest cruise ships for that price. Factors to Consider However, things aren’t quite as simple as crunching the numbers and comparing directly. There are some factors to consider that could change your budget in either trip case. For starters, your travel expenses make a big difference. Driving vs. flying can modify the cost, and if you are flying, you need to budget for airport transportation to and from your destination. Orlando International Airport A lot of the time, folks going on Disney cruises will book a hotel for the night before their cruise so that they can prepare to board the ship first thing in the morning, and a flight or travel delay won’t ruin their plans. So, if that’s your go-to strategy, you’ll need to add in that cost. And it goes without saying that if you’re sailing out of a different port altogether, your travel costs could vary wildly. Disney Cruise Line The last thing to remember is that you may need to crunch these numbers again if you’d like to go for a fancier stateroom or a nicer Disney World Resort. Going bougie ups the price by a significant margin, and as I mentioned earlier, that update doesn’t always translate apples to apples. There have been several injuries and even deaths at roller coasters recently, and you might be asking whether roller coasters are as safe as we once thought. ©Six Flags CNN spoke with wellness expert Dr. Lena Wen to understand the potential health risks of roller coasters and what riders should know before getting on one. As an emergency physical and clinical associate professor at George Washington University and a former Baltimore health commissioner, she shared what you should know and whether roller coasters are truly safe. Dr. Wen said, “Serious injuries on roller coasters are uncommon when taking into account the enormous number of rides taken every year. According to the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions, the chance of sustaining a serious injury on a ride at a fixed-site US amusement park is approximately one in 15.5 million rides.” ©Six Flags She also explained that this statistic is somewhat limited because it includes all amusement park rides, not just roller coasters, and not every injury is reported. The data also comes from an industry-sponsored entity, and no independent national database captures every amusement park injury and death. ©EPR The most relevant factor is that roller coasters expose riders to substantial physical forces, including G-forces, and injuries can occur from forces experienced during a ride, collisions, restraint problems, or other mechanical or operational incidents. Dr. Wen went on to say that while a direct blow to the head can cause traumatic brain injury, so can “rapid acceleration, deceleration, and changes in direction that lead to the head moving abruptly. The brain is suspended in fluid inside the skull, and sudden movement can cause the brain to shift relative to the surrounding structures.” ©Six Flags One injury called a subdural hematoma, which is bleeding between the brain and its outer protective covering, putting pressure on the brain, was sustained by several riders after riding the X2 roller coaster at Six Flags Magic Mountain. Two of them required emergency brain surgery. ©Six Flags Dr. Wen recommended that anyone with certain medical conditions should be cautious about intense, high-speed rides. This includes significant neck or back problems, spinal instability, or recent orthopedic injuries. Someone recovering from surgery should also check with their doctors before riding. People with cardiovascular conditions and known brain aneurysms, prior strokes, or serious neurological conditions should also consult their doctors. People taking blood-thinning medications should also take additional precautions. ©Six Flags In her final note, she said that “I think people should take into account the fact that millions of people enjoy amusement parks every year without sustaining injuries. The available statistics indicate that severe injuries are rare. At the same time, people should recognize that roller coasters, especially the ones involving high speeds and lots of sudden turns and twists, are not risk-free.” What do you think? We love Mike Wazowski. We really do. And after Disney’s first look at the food coming to Monstropolis, it’s clear the culinary team loves him too. Maybe just a teeny bit too much. ©Disney The new Monsters, Inc. land is set to open in phases at Disney’s Hollywood Studios starting in 2027, and Disney recently gave us a “Sneak-Shriek” at what humans will be eating there. We covered the first look at the food, and one thing jumped out at us. Then it jumped out at us again. And again. Because so far, Monstropolis food has one big, googly-eyed theme…and it’s looking right at you. “Is This Too Many Eyeballs?” Chef Brian Piasecki (Director of Culinary and Concept Development) and Evan Rosenthal (Beverage Director) explained that making food that feels authentically monster-y but still appetizing to humans led them to some questions they never expected to ask in a test kitchen. Do monsters slurp? Do they chew? And — our personal favorite — is this too many eyeballs? The team’s official verdict? “You can never have enough eyeballs in Monstropolis!” We have…questions. Lovingly! From a safe distance! With a single, Wazowski-style wink! ©Disney Here’s what’s actually been revealed so far: Harryhausen’s (table service): Ramen bowls built on a legit foundation of rich tonkotsu broth and alkaline ramen noodles, with monster-y twists like fishcake sliced to look like eyeballs and green eggs. Disney also says the menu will be more than just sushi. Archie’s Scare Pig Pizza (quick service): A Monsters University-inspired neighborhood pizza joint, plus the real-world debut of Blort, Monstropolis’ favorite soda, which may arrive as a purple frozen drink topped with Scream Apple Foam. ©Disney And to be fair to Disney, we should note that the team was clear these are dishes being explored, not a final menu. Nothing is locked in yet, so consider this our friendly suggestion-box submission. FIRST LOOK at Food Coming to Monstropolis at Hollywood Studios Do We Need to do an Eyeball Count? In Disney’s defense, eyeballs ARE kind of the Monstropolis brand. Before we even got to the food, the land’s concept art and design displays were already staring back at us: Harryhausen’s sign: Concept art shows a giant eyeball perched on top of two crossed chopsticks above the entrance. (The crossed steel for those chopsticks has already been spotted going up during construction.) The Glob Theater lobby: New concept art at Walt Disney Presents shows a pre-show area with a “Monster Concessions” stand and TWO chandeliers made of eyeballs and jagged teeth. The billboards: Mike Wazowski himself shows up on the “We’re Monsters, Inc.!” billboard in the land’s aerial concept art. That’s one very large eyeball, right there. The residents: Every monster pigeon, monster bunny, and street-level monster in the art brings its own eyeball count, whether that’s one, two, or “we stopped counting.” The Blort photo: Even Disney’s promo image for the drink features eyeball candies scattered across Monsters University binders. Monstropolis Entrance So the land is already crushing it in the eyeball department. Seriously, gold star! When the building, the chandeliers, the billboards, AND the food are all eyeballs, we’d love to see the menu blink and look around a little. What Are Fans Saying? Honestly? The internet was nicer than we expected! As we rounded up in our post on fan reactions to the “grossly fun” food, a lot of folks were genuinely pumped. Plenty of commenters were thrilled to see ramen coming to Hollywood Studios, others were already counting down to their first sip of Blort, and some said the Harryhausen’s details are exactly what makes a land feel like stepping into the movie. ©Disney Of course, a few folks weren’t quite ready to make eye contact. Some fans called the food “mid” if what we’ve seen is the full menu, others said it looked bland in the photos, and more than a few were hoping Harryhausen’s would be a true sushi restaurant like the one Mike takes Celia to in the film. (There’s still a chance more sushi shows up, since Disney hasn’t shared the full menu.) Harryhausen’s Concept Art Our take? We’re honestly excited. The bones here are GOOD. Real tonkotsu, real alkaline noodles, and an eight-tentacled Audio-Animatronic sushi chef prepping food in the center of the dining room? Sign us up. We just want the personality on top to match the ambition underneath — and right now, it’s very, very eye-focused. Close-Up Look at the NEW ‘Monsters, Inc.’ Attraction in Disney World The Monstropolis Food We Actually Want to See We already shared our wish list in Disney’s Hollywood Studios Could Do Something AMAZING in Monsters, Inc. Land. Let’s Hope They Don’t Blow It. A couple of our favorites from that list still stand: A Mike Wazowski pizza at Archie’s. Green pesto base, a pepperoni-and-cheese eye, a slice of green pepper. Tokyo Disneyland has been selling Mike Wazowski Melon Pan for years, and Magic Kingdom’s Mike Wazowski Cake proves this works stateside. (Yes, we realize this is technically another eyeball. ONE eyeball is the whole point!) Pun-tastic Harryhausen’s specials. A roll named after Roz. A “Schmoopsie-poo Special.” The Monstropolis Horn has already teased a Caterpillar Roll and a Terrible Teriyucki, so we know the puns are in there somewhere. Let’s get them on the menu! Monster ice cream cones. Early concept art showed guests walking around with monster-themed cones, and we’re still waiting on those. ©Disney But after looking at the newest concept art and construction photos, we’ve got a few NEW ideas for Disney too. Consider these our gift to the creative team: Lemon Snow Cones from the Yeti. This one’s straight from the film! The Abominable Snowman offers Mike and Sulley lemon snow cones during their exile in the Himalayas. A shaved ice stand in Monstropolis serving lemon snow cones (“made from fresh yellow snow”…we’ll let marketing workshop that one) would be a perfect Florida-summer lifesaver. A Randall Color-Changing Lemonade. Randall can blend into anything, so why not a drink that changes color before your eyes? A lemonade that shifts from blue to purple when you stir it would be a gorgeous, Instagrammable nod to everyone’s favorite sneaky villain. No eyeballs required. ©Disney Monster Concessions Popcorn at the Glob Theater. That Monster Concessions stand in the new Glob Theater concept art is begging for a Monstropolis popcorn — maybe a sweet purple-and-green “Glob” mix — served in a souvenir laugh canister bucket. Laughter is the city’s power source now, after all! Monster Pigeon Cookies. Disney showed off figures of the land’s monster pigeons and monster bunnies at Walt Disney Presents, and they are adorable. A decorated sugar cookie or cake pop of one of these little city critters would be a super easy, very cute snack win. Monster Pigeons A Celia Birthday Cake. Mike takes Celia to Harryhausen’s for her birthday, so Harryhausen’s should absolutely have a celebration dessert for guests — maybe with green “snake hair” piping in Celia’s honor. Archie the Scare Pig Everything. Archie’s Scare Pig Pizza is named after the Fear Tech mascot that the Monsters University crew famously pig-napped. A pig-shaped pizza, a “pig-napped” pork belly slice, or a pink frosted cinnamon roll with little ears? The pizza joint’s namesake is right there! ©Disney We’re not saying lose the eyeballs, Disney! The eyeball fishcake ramen looks fun, and we’ll be first in line to try it (and Blort). We’re just saying that Monstropolis is a whole city full of fur, horns, tentacles, scales, snow cones, and snakes, and the food can borrow from ALL of it. So yes, Disney, there CAN be too many eyeballs. But there can never be too many good ideas. Stay tuned to DFB for all the latest Monstropolis news as the land gets closer to opening! Y’all, we hate to break it to you, but the rumors are not true. Tower of Terror You might have seen rumors floating around that Mark Silverman, the voice of Rod Sterling in Disney World’s Tower of Terror, is back at Walt Disney Imagineering working on something. But he’s back for reasons we weren’t hoping for. When Mark Silverman posted that he was at Disney Imagineering, we might have gotten a little too excited, hoping he was working on something with Disney for the Tower of Terror or a related project. The entire tower is decked out in scaffolding after all! The real reason Silverman was there? To visit! “I went to Imagineering to buy a T-shirt, and that is what I have in the bag I am holding… that is the reason I was there.” Hey, if we could stop by Walt Disney Imagineering whenever we wanted to buy a shirt, we’d do the same thing. Construction The Tower of Terror is themed to The Twilight Zone, narrated by none other than Rod Sterling. While the ride is themed to the show, it’s not an official episode, so they brought in Mark Silverman to help with the audio, since Rod Sterling passed away in 1975 and the ride reopened in 1994 in Hollywood Studios. They used both archival footage from the show and Mark Silverman to create the pre-show introduction. Maybe we shouldn’t ride this elevator! Right now, the Tower of Terror is covered in scaffolding while they work on an exterior refurbishment. No work has been announced for the inside, so we’re not expecting any changes, which is why Silverman threw us off when we saw the picture. Lots of work being done Keep following Disney Food Blog for everything Disney, plus news and tips and tricks to make your Disney vacation the best ever. Christmas dinner at Disney World sounds wonderful when you picture Cinderella Castle, a table full of food, and someone else handling the dishes. Getting the reservation deserves a spot on that Christmas list, too. Christmas in Magic Kingdom The booking windows for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day dining are approaching, and if your holiday plans involve a castle meal, Mickey waffles, or dinner at one of Disney World’s most sought-after restaurants, it’s time to get organized. Your future self won’t have to hunt for a table for six on December 25th. Here’s when to book, which restaurants we’d prioritize, and the DFB reservation tips worth keeping close. Put These Dates in Your Phone For guests booking on the standard 60-day schedule, these are the dates to remember: Christmas Eve (December 24th, 2026): Opens October 25th Christmas Day (December 25th, 2026): Opens October 26th New dining availability generally opens at approximately 6 AM EST through Disney World’s website and the My Disney Experience app. Set your alarm early enough to be signed in and ready before then. Nobody needs a password reset standing between them and Christmas breakfast. Christmas at Magic Kingdom Staying at a Disney Resort hotel? Your booking date could be EARLIER. Eligible hotel guests can make dining reservations 60 days before check-in for their entire stay, up to a 10-night stay. That means Christmas dining could become available to you before October 25th or 26th if those meals fall within your eligible booking window. Make sure your hotel reservation is linked to your account ahead of time. It also explains why some tables may already be gone when the standard 60-day window opens. Other guests may have had access through an earlier check-in date. Book the Big One First We’d decide on our most important holiday meal BEFORE booking morning. When availability opens, go straight for that restaurant. If Christmas dinner at Cinderella’s Royal Table is the whole dream, start there. The casual lunch you’d also enjoy can wait a few minutes. Cinderella Disney doesn’t publish a Christmas reservation sellout ranking, but based on the restaurants we’ve covered and the bookings that remain competitive, these are some we’d put near the top of the search list: Topolino’s Terrace character breakfast — Pay attention to the meal here. We’ve found dinner has become easier to book, while breakfast remains a tough reservation. Mickey and friends are the morning draw. Space 220, especially Space 220 Lounge — This remains a priority booking in EPCOT. The restaurant and lounge have separate reservation listings, so check the one you want. Cinderella’s Royal Table — Christmas inside Cinderella Castle is the kind of plan people build an entire park day around. If that’s your family’s wish, search for it first. ‘Ohana and California Grill — Keep these popular resort meals high on your list, especially if you’re after a specific dinner time. Story Book Dining at Artist Point — A character dinner at Wilderness Lodge makes a strong holiday wish-list contender. We’d prioritize it if Snow White and that magnificent lobby are part of your Christmas plans. Story Book Dining at Artist Point Be Our Guest is worth watching, too, but don’t assume every historically difficult reservation is still equally tough. We’ve seen more availability there than in years past. Christmas can change the picture, so book according to YOUR priorities rather than an old list of impossible tables. Do the Boring Stuff Tonight Booking morning should involve choosing a time and completing the reservation. Save the account maintenance for the night before. Check your login, payment information, linked hotel reservation, and party size. Include everyone in the head count, even infants. Then open the restaurant’s booking page on your computer and have My Disney Experience ready on your phone. Our team has recommended having both the website and app available so you can switch if one gives you trouble. ©Disney If another adult is helping, assign each person a different reservation to pursue. One person handles Christmas breakfast; another tackles Christmas Eve dinner. Give everyone a job before the coffee has to start making decisions. Have a short backup list, too. Knowing your second choice saves time if your first search comes up empty. Let Christmas Dinner Be Lunch A narrow time window gives you fewer chances to find a table. If you can eat at 3:30 PM instead of 6 PM, include that earlier meal in your search. Check the full day’s available times rather than stopping when your preferred dinner hour doesn’t appear. We’ve long recommended searching beyond the obvious meal times. An early holiday meal leaves room for an evening snack, which feels like sound Christmas planning to us. Thanksgiving Eats from Liberty Tree Tavern in Magic Kingdom For larger groups, you can also try searching for smaller parties with reservation times close together. Have another adult help make the separate bookings and expect that you could be seated at separate tables. You can request nearby seating at check-in, but the restaurant cannot guarantee it. If sitting together is essential, keep searching for a reservation that fits the full group. Give OpenTable a Turn A search with no results in the My Disney Experience app doesn’t always mean every booking option is exhausted. DFB’s former Cast Members have recommended checking OpenTable for participating restaurants. We’ve found times there when Disney’s system showed no availability. The Boathouse Options include Disney Springs restaurants such as The BOATHOUSE, Wine Bar George, Morimoto Asia, Jaleo, Summer House on the Lake, and Raglan Road, along with select restaurants at the Swan and Dolphin and The Cake Bake Shop at Disney’s BoardWalk. Cake Bake Shop Restaurant Each restaurant controls its availability, and booking windows can differ from Disney’s. It’s worth checking those options before your Disney booking morning, too. Read the cancellation terms for whichever service you use. And remember that OpenTable only works for participating restaurants — it won’t unlock a hidden Cinderella’s Royal Table reservation. Keep Checking After Booking Day An unsuccessful first search is your cue to check again. People change their plans, cancel meals, and adjust their party sizes. Those changes can put tables back into circulation. We recommend checking throughout the weeks before your trip, with another close look in the final days and on the day you want to dine. Let’s dig in! Many Disney World restaurants allow cancellation without a penalty at least two hours before the reservation, though some meals have different policies. Check the terms attached to your booking, especially for prepaid dining and special experiences. Release any reservation you no longer need within its cancellation window. Another DFB tip worth remembering — check dining availability when Disney extends park hours. Additional restaurant times may appear if dining hours expand, too. That doesn’t happen with every park-hours change, but it gives you another reason to run a fresh search. Via Napoli Once you’re there, participating restaurants may also offer a Mobile Dine Walk-Up Waitlist. Availability varies, and you generally need to be nearby to join. Treat that as a backup option rather than your entire Christmas dinner plan. Before booking an in-park meal, make sure your admission and any required park reservation cover your visit. A dining reservation doesn’t provide park admission or override entry restrictions. Inside The Hollywood Brown Derby Our advice — find your booking date, choose the meal that matters most, and be ready before 6 AM EST. Keep your acceptable times broad and your backup restaurants handy. Christmas dinner is one reservation we’d rather settle in October. December is for eating the cookies. HURRY! We don’t ask for much in this world, but we keep asking Disney World to add mobile ordering to more restaurants. Yes, you can walk up to the register and order, but it is so much easier to pass the phone around while you sit at a table than to shuffle through everyone in line. Mickey Waffles Well, Disney heard our calls and added mobile ordering to another restaurant, making it easier to grab breakfast! Breakfast mobile order has been added to Wailulu Bar & Grill at Disney’s Polynesian Resort. Breakfast is one of the hardest meals to get at Disney World because options are limited when you’re trying to run to the parks, but this makes it a lot easier. ©Disney You can grab a reservation from 7 AM to 10:45 AM, and when we checked, we saw plenty of time slots available. If you’re staying at the Polynesian, you can order ahead in your app and pick it up as you head to the monorail for a park day. ©Disney Now, what can you order to start off your magical morning? We highly recommend grabbing Mickey-shaped Waffles (duh!). Wailulu Bar & Grill They also have great Croissant Sandwiches that we enjoy. It’s a great way to fill up before a busy day of running around. Especially if you are planning on rope dropping, we recommend placing that order ahead of time so it’s ready to go when you are. ©Disney Don’t forget you can also grab lunch and dinner there too if you’re looking for food once you get back from the parks. Okay, who’s obsessing over VisionQuest on Disney+? It’s me! I’m obsessing! I’m a huge fan of the whole WandaVision trilogy that started with WandaVision and then gave us Agatha All Along. Well, VisionQuest is the final chapter of that story, and the first few episodes have been FANTASTIC. ©Disney One might think being a star of your own Marvel TV series as well as a former Avenger might protect you from trolling, but Paul Bettany, the star of VisionQuest, has been at the mercy of his biggest trolls…which just happen to be his kids. Yes, Vision might be a former Avenger, and one of the most powerful beings on the planet, but Bettany, who plays Vision, is getting straight up trolled by his own children. According to an interview with the BBC The One Show, the actor recently shared that his daughter Agnes, 15, and son, Stellan, 23, keep resetting his Disney+ login name. ©Disney “They’re dreadful children. They’re awful. No, they’re awful,” he said. “On my Disney login and I don’t know who’s doing it because I keep changing it, they changed my login to, it should say ‘Dad’ right, but it says ‘Worst Avenger.’ And I keep logging in and changing it and somebody — my money’s on my daughter. I think it’s my daughter doing it. Every time I go back it says ‘Worst Avenger’ with a picture of me.” ©Disney OUCH. But also…that’s pretty funny, too. It’s good to know that his kids are going to keep his head from getting too big, right? Here’s the clip from the interview: Bettany has also recently pointed out to People that his kids would never give him cool points just for being in the MCU. “Oh, even if my kids thought Vision was cool, they would never let me know,” he said. “They would never tell me. They would never give in to that, especially my daughter.” ©Disney However, Bettany also has a stepson, Kai, 29, that has helped shape how he’s handling a major plot point in VisionQuest. In the series, Vision has twin sons that he thought weren’t real. “My eldest son is not mine biologically, but it is also absolutely true that he is mine and my son,” Bettany said. “And so I guess I leaned on that feeling, which is I feel no difference between how I feel about my children, my biological children and my stepson. There is now no difference between those feelings.” ©Disney So it seems that although he’s using his relationship with his children to channel the role of Vision, his kids are still not cutting him any slack, but isn’t that the way it always is? Stay tuned to DFB for more Disney+ and Marvel news. Have you ever found yourself taking a look at our posts or our social media and going, “I can’t believe that’s their JOB!” Yeah, we have the same thought EVERY day! Breea! It’s no secret that our job is pretty epic. We get to write about and/or explore Disney and theme parks pretty much every day. It doesn’t get better than that! However, some parts of our job probably confuse a lot of people. If you’ve had questions before and haven’t known how to ask them, this post is for YOU, because it’s full of behind-the-scenes tidbits. Yes, we’re telling you ALL about what the day of a DisneyFoodBlog reporter actually looks like, and fair warning: it may surprise you! The job actually starts with our editors. There’s new Disney news coming out basically every day, but Disney doesn’t announce each and every new snack there is, or when a singular new merchandise item is released, so we have park walks to search for what’s new and see if there’s anything that sticks out to us. Our editors also work as our main schedulers, so they’re in charge of deciding who goes on a park walk and when, including choosing which park (or parks, sometimes it’s multiple in one day!) we’ll be heading to. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Sometimes that decision is made by looking at what construction is currently happening in the park, since there’s a good chance things change week to week, or even day by day. Other times, we’ve gotten word that new snacks or new merchandise items may be dropping, so a reporter is sent into the park to check it out. There are some cases where park walks are changed in the middle of the day if breaking news comes out! Our editors also watch Disney’s socials and sites, as well as Google in general, really closely each day to see if there are any whispers about things we haven’t seen yet. Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Once we’re in the park, we’ve got specific assignments we’ve been told to complete, and we head to knock those off our list! If there are ones at a higher priority than others, we’ll be told that, and we’ll head to those first. Otherwise, we’ll go in whatever order it makes the most sense. Usually, we try not to backtrack if we can help it! We also try to plan any meals or snacks around times we’ll actually be hungry, as much as we can. Though, there are plenty of days where our whole day is eating different snacks, which can be a lot harder than it seems! Disney snacks are delicious, but wow, they do get filling VERY quickly. Crab Rangoon Mozzarella Sticks Then comes sending in what we’ve found to our team back home — those are our writers and editors! As we complete the tasks we’ve been assigned, or we find interesting stories around the park, we communicate with the work-from-home team to let them know what we’re seeing. This often also includes sending in photos and videos and uploading them so the team can see what we’re seeing — those are the photos you see in our posts, and the videos you see on our social media and YouTube! On hot days, we often have to wait for our phone to cool down, because if it overheats, it’s a no-go on sending anything. We usually try to find a spot inside to help us and our phones cool off. Morocco Pavilion You may be surprised to learn that being a DFB reporter also takes having a very specific set of items to make your life a LOT easier in the parks. Believe it or not, yes, our jobs are amazing, but they can also be REALLY hard, especially if you don’t have the right tools. You know how you find yourself in pain after wearing the wrong shoes on vacation, or you forget a portable charger and then find yourself scrambling? Yep, we’ve been there. All those product recommendations we give you are because we’ve experienced firsthand just how difficult the parks can be without them. Let’s Talk About Shoes Hoka Clifton 10 Sneakers When it comes to walking 10+ miles around Disney World, yes, we know firsthand how uncomfortable that can be with the wrong shoes. While they’re expensive, we’ve found our Hoka Women’s Clifton 10s to be excellent at keeping us comfortable throughout even the longest days. Plus, they hold up extremely well, so you won’t need to be buying a new pair just a year later. Grab on Amazon! Out Of Your Price Range? No Problem! Brooks Ghost Shoes! If the HOKAs aren’t in the budget, or you’ve found the design just doesn’t fit your feet well, then the Brooks Women’s Ghost 18 Neutral Running & Walking Shoes are another major recommendation from us. We’ve got multiple reporters who swear by their Brooks and have used them for many years without an issue. It all depends on your foot shape and what works best for you, but we can 100% vouch that these are another amazing option. Grab on Amazon! Need Something Different? ©Amazon Don’t worry, you’re not out of options if your budget doesn’t include either of those! We’re also big fans of the ASICS Women’s NOVABLAST 6 Running Shoes. These are much more budget-friendly, and yet we’ve found them to be just as comfortable. Again, this does often have to do with the shape of your foot, your arches, etc., but we think they’re absolutely worth a try! Grab on Amazon! Why Not Have The Prettiest Loungefly Out There? ©Amazon You’ve heard us talk about Loungefly bags time and time again, but hey, that’s because they’re truly pretty epic! They fit all we need without being too big or bulky, and not to mention, they’re CUTE! Especially the Disney Princess Stained Glass Collection: Cinderella Mini Loungefly Backpack. It’s one of the cutest designs we’ve seen, and let’s be honest here: who doesn’t want a stained-glass design on their backpack? Talk about classy! Grab on Amazon! Never Worry About Chafing Again ©Amazon One of the worst things in the WORLD is trying to wear a cute outfit in the parks, only to find that you’re rubbing in places you didn’t want. For a lot of us, it happens on our thighs, but there’s one thing we buy to help us avoid that: Biker Shorts! Not only do they help keep us way more comfortable, but we also wear them under dresses and skirts anyway to make sure we’re not afraid of the wind. This brand is one of our favorites, but even if you don’t like these, we’re telling you, biker shorts of any kind are a MUST. Grab on Amazon! We Can’t Forget About LOOKING Stylish! ©Amazon Yes, being comfortable in the parks is a huge must, but we also love to look cute when we can. A big part of that? Finding adorable shirts to wear that are appropriate for the season, like the Floral Kingdom T-Shirt! This one is beyond cute, but since it’s from Amazon and not specifically Disney, you’re saving a lot of money without sacrificing style. Grab on Amazon! We’ll continue to be in the parks day after day to bring you all the latest news, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB! View the full article

Traveling to and from Disney World can often include hopping on a plane, which is why we are always on the lookout for all the most important news and updates regarding air travel to Orlando. ©Emirates Well, it looks like Emirates just announced a really big change for flights in and out of Orlando, so let’s dive in! Emirates is a luxury airline that flies from only 12 major U.S. cities, and they just announced that starting on November 1st, the Emirates A350 will begin daily service to Orlando International Airport. ©Emirates While this will not be the start of Emirates servicing flights to MCO, the Emirates A350 will replace the current Boeing 777 planes that have been used by Emirates since they started flying out of MCO back in 2015. While the Emirates A350s are typically smaller, they are newer and far more luxurious than the Boeing 777s. The Emirates A350 will fly directly back and forth between MCO and Dubai. ©Emirates Emirates has shared that “Emirates’ A350 features the airline’s latest cabin interiors, technology and innovations. Deploying it to Orlando reinforces Emirates’ commitment to offering US customers the very best in travel, giving those flying to and from Central Florida more choice and an exceptional level of comfort on board.” ©Emirates This change is meant to be the next step in Emirates’ goal to bring a more elevated and luxury travel experience to American travelers. Matthew Jones, the Emirates’ VP for the United States, has shared, “We are extremely delighted to roll out elevated experiences for our customers in the US. Customers traveling on this important route will now be able to fly to Dubai while enjoying the latest in-flight experiences and superior levels of comfort.” We are interested to see how this goal of enhanced travel plays out at MCO and other airports across the U.S. ©Emirates We will continue to bring you all the airline and travel news, so stay tuned to Disney Food Blog so you never miss anything! Disney World just dropped some MAJOR churro news, and everyone and their mother are freaking out… Literally. Nomad Lounge Churros Here at DFB, we’re here to fill you in on all of the news and announcements Disney makes, and this includes the beloved warm dough stick rolled in cinnamon sugar. Our parents? They’re part of those people we fill in, and boy, were they excited to hear about this churro news! When we were looking over some of the menus in the Disney World parks recently (because who doesn’t?), we came across something new for a certain Animal Kingdom lounge: Mobile Ordering. Nomad Lounge has introduced Mobile Ordering for its CHURROS! And this is HUGE NEWS! Nomad Lounge Previously, the only way you could have gotten these churros was either by sitting down at the lounge or physically going in and asking for them to go, which you would have to wait for them to be ready. Now, you can place your order ahead of time! But why is everyone specifically freaking out over this? It’s for a couple of reasons. Churros The first being the obvious: They’re DELICIOUS! We’d go as far as to say that these are the best churros in all of Disney World. They’re soft on the inside, but have that nice crunch on the outside, and come with some unique dipping sauces, like Vanilla Crema and Apple Butter. Nomad Lounge Churros But the second is a little more subtle and not a lot of people realize: These churros are gluten-free, and being able to now Mobile Order a delicious and allergy-friendly snack is a BIG DEAL for some people, including our moms! When we found out about the news, one of our team members (who, they and their family are all gluten-free) immediately went and texted their mom! And their response was how everyone is currently feeling. Everyone should be this excited about churros! We like your strategy, mom: Get churros on the way to Flight of Passage, eat churros while in line for Flight of Passage, and get more churros after Flight of Passage! I think this just became my plan for a whole day at Animal Kingdom… How many churros is too many churros? Actually, don’t answer that — there’s no such thing as too many churros. These churros are sooooo good! To order, you will need to go to the “Nomad Lounge To Go” page in the My Disney Experience App and click “Begin Order.” Then, you’ll add your churros to your order and choose an arrival window! Finally, stop by the restaurant to pick them up and viola — you have churros in hand! We can’t get enough! So, what are you waiting for? GO GET THOSE CHURROS! And stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for more Disney World news, updates, tips, and tricks! Sometimes you just have to leave the Disney World bubble to experience the rest of Central Florida. There is so much to check out, from great experiences to even amazing restaurants. Welcome to Disney World! A new restaurant is coming to Flamingo Crossings, just minutes from Disney World, and it might be worth the stop. If you think sauces are where it’s at and everything else is just a vessel for sauce, you’ll love Saucy! by KFC. Saucy! by KFC is open at Flamingo Crossings now, but its grand opening is Saturday, November 7th from 11 AM to 1 PM. The event will feature a live DJ, an interactive sauce bar, sauce roulette with special prizes, and a free Sauce! Snack Box for the first 50 guests. ©Saucy! by KFC What is Saucy! by KFC? It’s a KFC spin-off focused on crispy chicken tenders and an extensive line of sauces. There are 11 different sauces to try, including four different types of ranch, Saucy’s Sauce, and Spicy Mango Chutney. You can even order a sauce flight to mix, match, and compare flavors. If you’re going, team up with the family to try all the different sauces. They call themselves a “flavor-obsessed playground where self-expression matters.” ©Saucy! by KFC Flamingo Crossings has a few other stops you might find helpful during your trip. They have a Walgreens and Target for essentials, plus a UPS Store when you’re ready to ship souvenirs home. Flamingo Crossings Target We also find ourselves at two restaurants time and time again. Flatlands Bar & Grill has great drinks and lobster rolls… Mini Lobster Rolls …and Simply Capri for some good Italian food. While we love plenty of restaurants at Disney World, sometimes it’s nice to escape the bubble and put your feet up for a little while. When Disney feels chaotic and stressful, we like to step outside and feel a little more human. Simply Capri We’re so glad Saucy! by KFC is joining the lineup, but in the meantime, keep following DFB for more tips and tricks to make your Disney World vacation the best ever. There is so much to consider when planning your next Disney World vacation: where to stay, which rides to prioritize, deciding if you need Lightning Lane, and arguably most importantly, what you are going to eat. Yuzu Flavored Cake New snacks and treats drop ALL the time, so we make sure to review everything so you know exactly what to try (and what to skip) on your upcoming trip. On our last visit to EPCOT, we took a trip to Mitsukoshi in the Japan Pavilion to try the Yuzu Flavored Cake for $3.49. This is a pound cake infused with a bright Yuzu flavor. Yuzu Flavored Cake The pound cake itself is zesty, soft, and airy, and the yuzu flavor was nice and strong. This was a very refreshing treat and nice to eat on a hot, sunny day in Florida. This treat is pretty light and small, but given the price, this was not an issue. The citrus notes from the yuzu came through really well, and this would be great to try for anyone who loves yuzu or wants to try a more unique citrus flavor profile. Yuzu Flavored Cake With that being said, anyone who is a little pickier or not a fan of citrus would probably want to try something else instead. Overall, we really enjoyed this and will definitely be picking it up again on future trips around World Showcase. Yuzu Flavored Cake We will continue to bring you food reviews from all across Disney World, so stay tuned to Disney Food Blog so you never miss anything!
