  4. Disney World is the Most Magical Place on Earth. It can also, on any given Tuesday, feel like one of the most crowded places on Earth. Cinderella Castle If your idea of a perfect vacation involves a good snack, a quiet bench, and absolutely zero strangers asking you to join a conga line, we get it. Loving Disney and loving personal space are NOT mutually exclusive. So we rounded up the spots that are toughest on introverted Disney adults, including a few brand-new ones that have popped up with recent park and hotel changes. Even better, we’ve got an escape plan for every single one. The Plaza Gardens Located in front of Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom, the gardens are pretty much always packed with people. Early in the day, they’re the setting for hundreds to thousands of photos, while later they become one of the most densely packed areas to watch Magic Kingdom shows, parades, and nighttime spectacular fireworks. In other words, they can be a bit of a nightmare for those who don’t like being around people. And with the Disney Starlight nighttime parade now in the mix, the hub fills up earlier in the evening and stays full longer. While the area is a bit tough to avoid while traversing the park, we’d recommend planning to watch parades and fireworks in slightly less crowded locations. Magic Kingdom means LOTS of walking How to escape: For fireworks: Head behind the castle to Fantasyland. The view is off-center, but you’ll have room to breathe and a head start on the exit crowd. Or leave the park entirely and watch from the beach at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. For parades: Skip the hub and Main Street, U.S.A. and grab a spot farther along the route in Liberty Square or Frontierland, where the crowd is usually only a row or two deep. For a mid-day breather: Ride the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover (ten glorious minutes of nobody talking to you), or duck into the new pop-up lounge at The Diamond Horseshoe in Liberty Square. It has air conditioning, shareable bites, and a self-playing piano that will never once ask where you’re visiting from. It’s only around for a limited time this fall, so enjoy it while you can. One sad update for longtime introverts: Tom Sawyer Island and the Liberty Square Riverboat, two of the park’s all-time great hiding spots, closed for good in July 2025 to make room for the upcoming Cars-themed Piston Peak area. The construction walls have also made the walkways in that corner of the park tighter than they used to be, so give yourself extra time (and patience) there. Piston Peak Construction Over the Top Meals There are several meals across Disney World that can be a bit
much for introverted guests. Whether it’s the “family” of waiters at Hollywood Studios’ 50’s Prime Time CafĂ© demanding guests keep their elbows off the table and clean their plates, or the servers at the Wilderness Lodge’s Whispering Canyon inundating their tables with ketchup, these experiences can be a bit of a sensory overload for some guests. Our whole meal at Whispering Canyon And they’re not alone. At Roundup Rodeo BBQ in Toy Story Land, the whole dining room is expected to freeze when a server yells that Andy’s coming. Over at Biergarten in EPCOT’s Germany pavilion, you may be seated at a long communal table with total strangers (while a band plays). We’d definitely recommend researching the environment of a restaurant before making a dining reservation. How to escape: Instead of 50’s Prime Time CafĂ©: Grab a seat next door at Tune-In Lounge. You can order from the same menu (hello, fried chicken and PB&J milkshake) without anyone checking whether you finished your green beans. Instead of Whispering Canyon: Walk down to Geyser Point Bar & Grill on the water at Wilderness Lodge. It’s open-air, laid-back, and the loudest thing there is usually the boat horn. If you’re already seated: Quietly tell your server you’d rather sit this one out. Cast Members at these restaurants are pros at reading the table, and most will happily dial it back. 50’s Prime Time Cafe The Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run Cockpit Smugglers Run has always been a little awkward for introverts. You’re sealed in a six-seat cockpit, often with strangers, and everyone has a job to do. But the back-row engineer seats used to be a safe place to hide. Not anymore! When the ride’s new mission with the Mandalorian and Grogu debuted in May, the engineers got the biggest upgrade. One of them now chooses where the entire crew flies next (Bespin, Coruscant, or the wreckage of the second Death Star), and there’s a button to call Grogu mid-flight. It’s a much better ride, but it also means every seat on the Falcon now comes with responsibility and an audience. How to escape: Ask for a gunner. When the Cast Member hands out role cards, politely request the middle row. Gunners can pick a simpler first-timer setting, and nobody’s fate depends on your steering. Decompress after. The seating tucked in the back of Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo is one of the calmer corners of Batuu. Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run The Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets Pre-Show Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster reopened in May with The Muppets in charge, and we love the Electric Mayhem as much as anyone. But the pre-show still takes place in the same recording studio room as before, which means you’ll be standing shoulder to shoulder with a few dozen strangers while Scooter tries to get the band out the door. How to escape: Hang back. Let the eager folks rush in first and settle along the back wall, where there’s more elbow room. Head for the new quiet zone. The Magic of Disney Animation opened in September in the reimagined Walt Disney Studios courtyard, and it might be the most introvert-friendly addition to this park in years. You can sit in the dark and watch a short film at the Once Upon a Studio Theater, or grab a pencil at Olaf Draws and quietly sketch a character. No small talk required. Pre-show The Beak and Barrel Magic Kingdom’s Pirates of the Caribbean tavern is gorgeous, the drinks are fun, and reservations are still tough to snag. It’s also a lot. The room is small and lively; there’s a 45-minute time limit (and yes, the crew will remind you), and you don’t get to choose where you sit. You might get a cozy table, or you might end up at a standing table or shoulder to shoulder at the bar. If you booked this hoping for a quiet drink in a dark corner, that’s not a guarantee. How to escape: Know before you go. Treat it like an attraction with drinks, not a lounge. Go in expecting a rowdy 45 minutes, and you’ll have a much better time. Pick the calmer option. The limited-time pop-up lounge at The Diamond Horseshoe is a short walk away in Liberty Square, and it’s a far more relaxed place to sit with a cocktail. Take a walk. Swiss Family Treehouse is right there in Adventureland. It rarely has a line, nobody talks to you, and the view from the top is lovely. The Beak and Barrel Hurly-Burly at Disney’s BoardWalk Disney World’s newest lounge opened on October 1st in the old Jellyrolls space, and the name is true to advertising. Hurly-Burly opens at 4PM with host-led trivia and games for the whole family, then switches to a 21-and-up live music venue at 9PM. When we visited on opening day, the host worked the room and asked guests where they were from. If the phrase “audience interaction” makes you want to hide under the table, consider yourself warned. There are also no reservations, so you’ll be joining a walk-up waitlist. How to escape: Use the walk-up window. It opens at 11 AM and serves cocktails, beer, wine, and a Caramel Corn Cold Brew. Grab a drink and take a slow lap around Crescent Lake instead. Time it right. The entertainment runs 30 minutes on, 30 minutes off. Arrive during a break, and you can enjoy your velvet booth in relative peace. Go next door. AbracadaBar, just down the BoardWalk, is small, dim, and far more low-key. Hurly-Burly Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa The redesigned lobby now has its own bar, The Perch, so the space is more of a hangout than it used to be. Construction also continues in parts of the resort through early 2027, including the covered entrance. How to escape: At the Grand Floridian: Book the tea experience at the Garden View Lounge, which reopened this past March. It’s seated, unhurried, and by reservation. And if holiday lobby crowds stress you out, here’s a silver lining: the giant gingerbread house is not returning this year, so the lobby should be a little easier to cross. Head to the Polynesian: Skip the bustling Great Ceremonial House and wander over to the Island Tower. It has its own lobby and its own restaurant, Wailulu Bar & Grill, and it’s noticeably quieter. The Grand Floridian Resort We’ll keep hunting for hiding spots as Disney World keeps changing, so stay tuned to DFB for all the latest. It will sail from Tokyo and will invite guests aboard a ship “powered by creativity and optimism, where families will be encouraged to embrace and experience imagination that has always been at the heart of Disney storytelling like never before.” On board the Disney Adventure The new ship will weigh around 140,000 gross tons and will be powered by liquefied natural gas. It will also have a total of 1,250 staterooms and will hold around 4,000 guests. 11. Alright, Star Wars fans, we’re warning you now that you might want to sit down. We’ve got some VERY exciting news, and if you’re anything like the few big fans on our team, this may be the best Disney news you get all week. Mando and Grogu in Disney World Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is one of the best places to find roaming characters in all of Disney World, but that does mean it can be hard to take a quick photo with them. Unlike regular meet-and-greets, roaming characters wander throughout their land and interact with guests, but they can’t have an actual photo line form. Previously, The Mandalorian and Grogu were characters you could only see wandering, but now that’s changed! There’s now a specific, dedicated spot on the My Disney Experience App for you to meet The Mandalorian and Grogu! You’ll find him near the Millennium Falcon, very close to where Chewbacca himself often meets. If you’re looking for specific times, you’ll find them listed on his page in the app. This means no more hoping he’ll be wandering when you’re in the area — now you know exactly when you can meet them. ©Disney He looks to be meeting throughout the day, beginning at around 10 AM and finishing up around 6 PM. Keep in mind, though, that if the weather isn’t good, he may not meet at his normal times, and schedule changes can take place throughout the day. When in doubt, ask a nearby Cast Member! We found him! When we arrived, the line was decently long, but most of it was in the shade, which is nice for the warmer days that still plague Orlando, despite it being October. The line moved decently quickly, but it will still take a decent amount of time, so pack your patience if you really would like to meet them. Now that they have a designated meeting spot, this means they will very rarely be seen wandering around land, as characters usually have set-in-stone meeting spots OR are roaming — usually not both. The line moved pretty fast! Looking for more Disney’s Hollywood Studios news? Check out our posts below! More Recent Disney's Hollywood Studios News! 13. We’re about to go get McDonald’s WAY more than we were originally planning this month, because now we’re on a mission — we MUST collect all of these new Boo Buckets! Boo Bucket in 2022 That’s right, you read that correctly — McDonald’s is officially bringing back their Boo Buckets for another year this spooky season, but this time, they have a Disney twist to them. We’re as big of a fan of Disney Villains as the next person, and now it’s time to collect the NEW line of Disney Villain themed Boo Buckets that are coming out soon! Snackolator on X (formerly Twitter) has helped release the news about these new Disney Villain Boo Buckets, and we now know there will be five that we can collect. Based on the photo shown, there will be buckets themed to Ursula, Maleficent, Scar, Jafar, and Cruella De Vil. Could this all be because Disney is working on Villains Land in Magic Kingdom? It’s certainly possible! ©Snackolator on X Last year, the Boo Buckets were released on October 21st, but there wasn’t a Disney design — it was the classic Ghost, Pumpkin, and Goblin, plus a Cat and a Zombie. We do know that each bucket this year, like years past, will come with a pack of stickers, so you can decorate yours however you’d like. ©McDonald’s circa 2025 In the past, the buckets have come with Happy Meals, so you can choose between a burger or chicken nuggets, a side, and a beverage. We think the buckets can be great for trick-or-treating purposes, Halloween decorations, or, in our case, you can repurpose them as a planter! Isn’t it cute?! We’ll be sure to keep an ear out for the latest news about this addition, because we know we’ll be running to our local McDonald’s in an effort to collect them all. In the meantime, are you heading to Disney World soon and don’t know where to eat? Check out our helpful video below! 14. Okay, who’s getting excited about visiting Monstropolis next year in Disney’s Hollywood Studios? We certainly are! We can’t wait to roam the streets where Mike and Sulley spend their lives and check out Harryhausen’s, the Welcome to Monstropolis show, and the new roller coaster based on the movie’s doors scene (which will be opening after the rest of the land). ©Disney Well, we just visited the construction site of Monstropolis and noticed some updates, so we knew we had to share them with you. First up, we got a close-up look at some new details that have been added to one of the buildings in Monstropolis. Some colorful tiles that look almost like dragon (or monster) scales have been added to the top of one of the buildings. The tiles seem to fall into the blue, gold, and brown color schemes. New tiles Here’s a look at the other side of the top of that building where these tiles have been placed. Really, these little details are what’s going to really make this land POP. It’s giving so much personality What’s even more surprising is that Disney has totally jumped the gun and is already selling Monstropolis merchandise! A new merchandise cart popped up in front of the construction site where you can buy Monsters, Inc. souvenirs RIGHT NOW. Talk about getting the anticipation going, huh? The merch cart included the Scream Canister water bottle that we LOVE, plushes, a Monsters University Loungefly bag, shirts, and ears. New merch cart! You can also grab a variety of Monsters, Inc. hats, although we also spotted a Grogu hat, which seems a LITTLE out of place, don’t ‘ya think? Hats Of course, we imagine Disney has special Monstropolis souvenirs that we’ll only see once the new land opens, but for now, you can get ready for the opening of the new land with some fun merchandise. In the meantime, we’ll keep an eye on Monstropolis construction and keep you updated, so stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more. 15. Disney is gearing up for another animated film to hit theaters later this year, and we’ve got a feeling we’re about to walk out of the theater with tear tracks down our faces. ©Disney At D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event this past August, we learned more about the casting for this upcoming film, as well as got a look at some of the designs for the characters and the world. Disney showed the first public scenes from the film back in June, and now, we’ve got even MORE details about this upcoming film, which releases on November 25th, 2026. What we’ve taken away from it all is this — you’re going to want to bring your tissues. Recent interviews with the creative team behind the film have revealed just how much the family dynamic and the relationship between mother and daughter are important to this story. Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Chief Creative Officer Jared Bush stated that it became clear during the process that the team wanted this to be a mother-daughter story, and that they wanted to make sure “that their relationship was actually the star of the film.” Bush continued on to say that the hope is that both parents and kids will watch the film and understand where each other is coming from. For kids, it may be realizing what their parents are experiencing, and for the parents, it may be remembering what it was like to be a teenager. ©Disney He continued on, saying that getting to that point in the film took a lot of intense questioning, such as asking, “Does this feel true to life? Is this as emotional as it could be? And, as you’re watching it, do you believe it?” He described the lock-in between our main characters, mom Alice and teenager Billie, as a “North Star,” stating that once they really dug into why the characters’ communication styles weren’t cohesive with one another and why they were facing the issues they were is when the story got fun, as it allowed them the freedom to really figure out that dynamic. ©Disney Dana Ledoux Miller, one of the writers of the film, also talked about how while the film takes place in a fantasy world, the story is grounded in genuine, deep emotion. She continued, saying, “We’re here to create Disney magic, where people are going to laugh and they’re going to feel something. As long as we’re tracking that, then that’s our North Star. We’re having fun together, and that’s where the great writing comes in.” When talking about the characters specifically, she speaks of how the team found themselves rooting for Alice in the early stages of the process, as both she herself and director Fawn Veerasunthorn are both parents, so they understood her point of view. Tapping into Billie’s younger mindset forced them to remember how it felt to be an early teenager so that audiences can find themselves understanding Billie on a deep level. ©Disney Jason Hand, who also directed the film, mentioned that filmmakers pulled from their own experiences as parents to tell the story, saying, “There are reasons. For Billie to discover what those reasons are, why Alice chose the things she chose, is really fascinating. It’s something we can all relate to in our own lives — finding out something about your parents you maybe didn’t know, like what they wanted to do but never chase. And that makes this a very human story in a very fantastical world.” The interview also revealed that Rashida Jones, who voices Alice, was cast first, and Hailee Steinfeld, who voices Billie, was cast later. Roy Conli, one of the producers of the film, called their performances “so beautiful” and mentioned the “symbiosis” between them. The team really thinks that both parents and kids will really enjoy this film, seeing as both perspectives are so deeply explored. ©Disney When talking about the world created in the film, artists from nearly every department took extra time and care to “develop a system of tactile magic largely influenced by nature, set within a vast, colorful realm.” The audience will be discovering the world of Hexe through Billie’s eyes, and we’ll be learning about the world of magic right alongside her. Jason Hand is quoted saying, “She [Billie] knows all about witches and magic from our human, contemporary world. So, we decided, ‘Let’s lean into that — and then let’s twist her expectations.‘” The magic in Hexe also comes from within the person themselves, so the witch or wizard themselves is a key component of every spell. This means that the team had to figure out what magic looks like for each character, and we’ll also get to see some Easter Eggs to past Disney films in the magic of the realm as well, like the enchanted feather quill pen Quill (voiced by Tracey Ullman) and the magical journal Quire (voiced by Stephen Fry), who greet Billie at the entrance to Hexe. ©Disney The idea that every witch or wizard has their own unique magic is a very important part of the film, and a strong metaphor, with Veerasunthorn saying that the real magic of the film “is your potential. It’s up to you how you manifest it, what you choose to do with it, whether it’s for good or evil.” Want to see more of what happened at D23 when we were there? Check out our video below! 17. Lace up your sneakers, start stretching, and get yourself to Disney World, because we need to talk about runDisney! ©Disney The next runDisney race is the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend from October 22nd to October 25th. However, as excited as we are, we’re not here to talk about that race. We want to talk about the 2027 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, because we just got a first look at the medals! From January 6th to January 10th, 2027, Disney World will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Walt Disney World Half Marathon. Fans and athletes from all over the world are invited to participate in the race led by Donald Duck, who will be the star of the show throughout the weekend. runDisney setup Being a part of the race is so much fun, and the exclusive Disney medals are the cherry on top! Disney just dropped a first look at the medals coming to the 2027 Walt Disney World Half Marathon, and we’re loving each and every one of them. Mickey’s pal Pluto is featured on the 5K medal, and as you can see, Donald Duck is making his appearance on it as well. ©Disney The 10K medal features the beloved chipmunks, Chip & Dale. It’s got an eye-catching pink and magenta color scheme with the characters framed with a cutout silver border. The same spinning Donald piece is featured on this medal. ©Disney No need for the smaller spinning Donald piece on the Half Marathon medal, because Donald Duck is front and center. The medal is in the shape of the number 30, celebrating the 30 years of races. The cool thing about this medal is that it has a hinged locket design. ©Disney Open it up, and you’ll find Daisy Duck on the inside! ©Disney We know Donald is the star, but it’s not a Disney event without Mickey and Minnie Mouse, who are featured on the Marathon medal. The medal has Mickey and Minnie running with “26.2 Miles” above them, on a gorgeously designed background. Yes, Donald Duck is still featured on this medal too. ©Disney Are you up for a challenge? Or, should we say, Goofy’s Challenge? This medal is designed in a very unique way, with the medal having two doors that open up. On the face of the medal, you get the challenge name and Goofy running. ©Disney Open it up, and you’ll find Donald Duck holding up three medals, as well as “39.3 Miles” lettering, which is the total miles needed to complete the challenge. ©Disney Lastly, if you complete the 48.6-mile distance, you’ll get the Dopey Challenge medal. The medal is a hinged locket in Dopey’s colors of purple and green. The front shows Dopey leaping forward on a stunning background. ©Disney Open it up, and you’ll see Dopey holding six medals on one side and “48.6 Miles” on the other side. ©Disney We can’t wait for the 2027 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend from January 6th to the 10th. 19. On Monday, October 12th, a man tragically fell from the top of the Goliath roller coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia after his restraint was not properly locked. Mako at SeaWorld Orlando Other roller coasters manufactured by the same company are now facing scrutiny as concerns about the safety of the manufacturer’s ride restraints begin to rise. This includes a few different rides at SeaWorld Orlando as well as Universal Orlando’s Islands of Adventure, and one of those rides has already closed out of an abundance of caution. According to WESH 2, multiple witnesses on the Goliath attraction at the time of the incident stated that the man fell from a car on the roller coaster. Goliath was made by the Swiss company Bolliger & Mabillard, and after the incident, attention immediately turned to other rides that the company has made. This includes four rides at SeaWorld, one at Universal Islands of Adventure, and four coasters at Busch Gardens in Tampa, Florida. Mako Out of an abundance of caution, SeaWorld Orlando has closed Mako as of today, Tuesday, October 13th. A spokesperson from the park shared that Mako will remain closed while engineers and safety experts make sure the restraint system and the rest of the ride are working as they should be. The ride opened in 2016 and fortunately has not seen any serious incidents in the past 10 years of its operation. The other rides at SeaWorld that were manufactured by the same company are Manta, Pipeline, and Penguin Trek. Over at Islands of Adventure, The Hulk roller coaster is the only attraction manufactured by Bolliger & Mabillard. The Incredible Hulk Coaster Michael Haggard, an attorney who has represented the families of those killed or injured on rides, said that he would be very concerned about this incident and what it means. He continued on to say, “The question surrounds itself as ‘Are these restraint systems proper? Are they dual restraint systems, meaning a lap bar and a seat belt? What is the situation?’ And yes, every ride has the same risk of someone being ejected.” SeaWorld WESH 2 also received the following statement from the co-owner of ride maker Bolliger & Mabillard: “We are deeply saddened by this tragic accident. Our thoughts are with the family and those affected. We are actively investigating the incident and will not comment further until we have a better understanding of what happened.” Manta Ride We share our deepest condolences to all those affected by this horrible tragedy and will continue to keep you updated as the investigation progresses. 20. We need somebody to tell us to calm down, because we’re freaking out about this fan-favorite movie franchise returning! ©IMDb For the past few years, there was chatter about a new Narnia movie on the way. Then, earlier this year, it was announced that the film will be called Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew. Now, we finally got a look at the very first poster, and things are starting to feel even more real! This film is being brought to life by Greta Gerwig. And in a new post from Netflix, they revealed the poster, which reads “A Universe Begins” and features kids riding on what could be a gryphon and what looks to be the silhouette of Aslan. ©Netflix Despite it being a Netflix film, the movie is scheduled to hit theaters on February 12th, 2027, and then debut on Netflix on April 2nd, 2027. The Magician’s Nephew is the sixth book in C.S. Lewis’ hit series, but it is actually the first story chronologically, focusing on the creation of Narnia. This will be the first-ever film adaptation of this book. ©Netflix The movie will star Emma Mackey as the White Witch, as well as Cary Mulligan, Meryl Streep, and Daniel Craig. Greta Gerwig, who’s done movies such as Barbie, Little Women, and Lady Bird, will direct the new Narnia. “I was a child when I first read The Magician’s Nephew, and I fell in love with the gorgeously improbable but completely brilliant concept of a cosmic lion singing the world of Narnia to life,” says Gerwig. ©Netflix The movie’s original score will be composed by Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt, who have worked with Greta Gerwig before on Barbie. Sneak previews of the film only in IMAX will start on February 10th, 2027. We’re still waiting for the trailer to drop, but we should be getting a teaser very soon. ©Disney If you’re looking for more movie news and updates, make sure to follow us at the Disney Food Blog. 21. If you’ve ever pushed a stroller down Main Street, U.S.A. with one hand, held a melting Mickey Premium Bar in the other, and tried to check your Lightning Lane return time with your chin
hi. Welcome. You’re among friends. Disney World Rental Strollers all look alike Here’s what nobody tells you before your first Disney World trip with littles: the stroller isn’t just a stroller. It’s your locker, your snack bar, your nap pod, and the only member of your party who carries things without complaining. So when we find something that makes it work even harder, we get a little excited. And one small, inexpensive item has earned a permanent spot on ours. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. The Tiny Mickey-Shaped Clip Your Stroller Is Missing ©Amazon The 2-Pack Aluminum Mouse Ear Carabiner Clips come in red and black; they’re about 2.4 inches long, and they’re shaped like a certain mouse’s silhouette. Clip them onto your stroller frame, your organizer, or your park bag, and suddenly everything you’ve been carrying in the crook of your elbow has a home. The popcorn bucket. The water bottle. The shoes your toddler removed in line for Peter Pan’s Flight for reasons known only to them. Every Disney mom eventually learns that the stroller basket is a black hole. A clip keeps what you actually need on the outside, where you can grab it. view ON AMAZON The Stroller Upgrade We Actually Own Magnetic Phone Holder While you’re giving your stroller a glow-up, a few more upgrades are worth a look. First up is the liuliuby Magnetic Phone Holder for Strollers. Yes, we own this one, and no, we will not be going back to Disney World without it. It’s a strap with a strong magnet that wraps around your stroller handlebar and holds your MagSafe phone right where you can see it. Why does a phone holder matter so much in Disney World? Because your phone runs the entire trip. It’s your park map, your wait times, your Lightning Lane, and your mobile order. It’s also usually at the bottom of the diaper bag, under a layer of crushed Goldfish. With your phone on the handlebar, you can see the “your order is ready” alert while you walk, and you get a whole hand back. It also works on shopping carts and golf push carts, so it keeps earning its keep once you’re home and sad about it. view ON AMAZON A Minnie Side Pocket for Everything You Actually Need ©Amazon The J.L. Childress Disney Baby Side Sling Stroller Organizer & Caddy in Minnie is a mesh pocket that straps onto the side of your stroller frame. It’s for the bubble wand, the ears nobody will wear after 10:15 AM, and all the snacks you need access to for your toddler who will eat every 45 minutes. It attaches with two adjustable non-slip straps, has a wide stretchy opening you can reach into one-handed, and folds with most strollers. You’ll appreciate that last part at the bus stop at 9:45 PM with a sleeping 30-pound child on your shoulder. view ON AMAZON A Mickey Rain Cover for the Daily Storm ©Amazon Florida rain doesn’t check the forecast. It shows up mid-afternoon like it has its own Lightning Lane, and it leaves you with a soggy stroller seat and a toddler who flatly refuses to sit in it. The J.L. Childress Disney Baby Stroller Rain Cover & Weather Shield in Mickey is a clear cover made to fit most single strollers. It has vents on the sides for airflow and a zippered front, so you can get your kid in and out without taking the whole thing off. Our favorite way to use a rain cover isn’t even while we’re walking. Throw it on before you park the stroller for a ride, and you’ll come back to a dry seat instead of a puddle. Just remember it’s still Florida under there, so peel it back once the rain stops so your little one doesn’t get too toasty. view ON AMAZON A Handle for the Kid Who “Wants to Walk” ©Amazon Every Disney mom knows the cycle. They beg to get out of the stroller, walk for four minutes, drift toward the nearest bubble wand cart, and then ask to be carried. The Tagalong Stroller Accessory in Teal is a handle that hangs off the side of your stroller and gives little walkers their very own spot to hold on. It attaches without tools, and it works on shopping carts too, so it won’t retire when the trip is over. It’s especially handy if you’ve got a baby in the seat and a big kid on foot. And in the crowd pouring out of the park after the fireworks, “hold your handle” is a much easier ask than “hold my hand”. view ON AMAZON We’re always on the hunt for the latest and greatest Disney souvenirs and essentials, so don’t forget to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for more! 24. There’s something extra special about eating Thanksgiving dinner in Disney World, but there’s one part of it that we can’t get over — the CROWDS. Homecomin’ in Disney Springs Many Disney World restaurants have special Thanksgiving menus that they offer for those visiting to celebrate the holiday, but the sheer amount of crowds you’ll find in the parks during that week. That makes grabbing dining reservations pretty tricky for most spots, but what if we told you that there will be a way to grab a truly delicious meal TO GO, and eat it back in your hotel room away from said crowds? Yep, it’s true, and we’re already in heaven. The best part? You don’t even need a park ticket to take advantage of this meal deal, because it can be found at Chef Art Smith’s Homcomin’ in Disney Springs. This is one of our favorite spots in the shopping and dining district, and we know a lot of you feel the same, considering reservations can be hard to snag. The restaurant just announced that this Thanksgiving, they’ll be offering a Take-Home Thanksgiving Dinner-for-Four that can be picked up on November 24th or 25th! It gets better — you don’t even have to get out of your CAR to pick up your meal! No matter which day you pick up, Homecomin’ will meet you in the Disney Springs Mango Lot with your order for extra easy pickup. Included in the meal will be: Smoked White Meat Turkey with Gravy Andouille Sausage Cornbread Stuffing Homemade Cranberry Sauce Whipped Mashed Potatoes Southern Green Beans Cheddar Drop Biscuits with Fig Jam 4 Slices of Hummingbird Cake Hummingbird Cake Now, the cost is a bit expensive at first glance, but once you realize just how much you’re getting for four people, it doesn’t seem too bad. The whole meal will cost you $223.65, no matter which day you’re picking up. Now, it’s important to note that this meal is set in stone when it comes to the menu, so you won’t be able to substitute or trade things out. You’ll pay in full when you order, so when you actually go to pick up, you’ll just need to park in the Mango Lot at your designated time, and you’ll be ready to go! Order Your Meal Here! 25. Have you felt the shift in the force at Disneyland and Disney World? Galaxy’s Edge is arguably the most immersive experience you’ll get at the Disney Parks. The sights and sounds, the attractions, and the characters all make you feel like you’re in a Star Wars movie. On top of that, you can actually build a lightsaber and become a Jedi. Lighting up the night with lightsabers Speaking of which, Disney just dropped new lightsaber chassis and blade enhancements for Savi’s Workshop at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disneyland Park, with some unique effects and upgrades. When visiting Galaxy’s Edge, you can check out Savi’s Workshop, where guests can fulfill their dream of building a custom lightsaber. Some new stuff has arrived at the workshop in both Disneyland and Disney World. We’re talking new features for what the lightsaber can do and how it looks. Savi’s Workshop Disney says it has enhanced each lightsaber chassis and blade, no matter the hilt theme. The brand-new features include a thermal cutting effect, a spinning effect, and deflection effects. On top of that, the lightsabers will now have upgraded audio quality and smoother blade activation. Gatherer in Savi’s Workshop There’s one more new feature to talk about, and it’s the color-change effect. Disney says that pairing a lightsaber with special “cracked” kyber crystals will unlock it with a quick flick of the wrist. The new effect is supposed to display the battle inside the saber between the light side and the dark side. Building a lightsaber! Disney also added a new white and gold Protection and Defense hilt to the lineup. Disney describes the theme as a reflection of “a time when the Order stood as a symbol of peace and hope across the galaxy.” The design of the white and gold is stunning, and we could see Star Wars fans who love the era of the High Republic wanting to get their hands on this hilt. Lightsabers at Savi’s Workshop! All the new effects and the new hilt are available right now, so book today! 26. We’ve already tried more than 20 new Disney World snacks this month and found some MAJOR winners! Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Spring Rolls We’re only a few weeks into October, and we’ve already tried 24 new snacks around the Disney World parks and hotels (and counting!). It’s been a great month for Disney World eats so far, and we’ve found LOTS of items we’d definitely go back for another time. And in a crowded field full of great choices, we’re ready to give a shoutout to our favorite new snack of the month
at least, so far! Disney World has been on a ROLL with releasing new eats this month. We’ve already tried 24 new snacks in October, and we still have half the month to go! Churro Overdrive We’ve noticed some definite trends as we’ve been tasting our way through the new additions, from alllllll of the churros to new versions of popular treats. And we’re happy to report that another common trend is that we’d happily go back for seconds (and thirds, and fourths
) for TONS of them! Fall Ice Cream Cookie Dough Sandwich Seriously, there have been so many winners in this month’s new snack additions! It was tough for us to nail down our favorite of the bunch with so many great choices to pick from, so we have to call out some honorable mentions of snacks that justttt missed the top spot. Charcuterie Board First up, the Maleficent Funnel Cake at Epic Eats is both delicious AND Instagram-worthy! It’s made with powdered sugar, ube-and-matcha icing, vanilla soft-serve, and chocolate horns. We loved the unique blend of flavors, and even though we actually could have done without the ice cream on top, we’d absolutely still grab this one again. Maleficent Funnel Cake Another sweet treat we plan to circle back for more of is the Candy Corn Cake Pop at Flame Tree Barbecue. It’s a spiced cheesecake with apple butter swirl and brown butter graham crackers, dipped in white chocolate. The flavors in this one were so rich, bold, and layered — it’s a far cry from the “basic” label some people might associate with candy corn! If you love fall flavors, you gotta give this one a try. Candy Corn Cake Pop On the savory side, another honorable mention goes to the Elote Dip from Outer Rim at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. The chips it’s served with were incredible and held up for even bigger dips. Oh, and the dip itself
if you love all things corn like us, it’s a must-try! It’s creamy and packed with flavor from the corn, red onion, and herbs. Elote Dip Okay, now that we’ve celebrated our runners-up, it’s time for the moment you’ve all been waiting for. Our FAVORITE new Disney World snack we’ve tried so far this month is the new Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Spring Roll from the Spring Roll Cart in Magic Kingdom! Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Spring Rolls This is a much-needed GREAT grab-and-go breakfast option for Magic Kingdom. These little beauties are super crispy and filled with fluffy eggs, cheese, and big chunks of bacon you can actually taste. There’s a surprising amount of egg inside, and the salsa that’s served on the side punches up the flavor with a bit of acidity. LOTS of filling An order comes with two spring rolls for $9.79. They might not be filling enough as a stand-alone breakfast for someone who prefers to start the day with a super hearty meal, but they make a great grab-and-go option for either a lighter breakfast or a snack to hold you over until you get a full meal. Breakfast Spring Rolls Congratulations, Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Spring Rolls, now take your victory lap! Of course, we’ll be back for MORE new snacks around Disney World as they debut, so stick with DFB for our latest reviews! Which of These Viral Disney Snacks Is Actually Good? 27. Not every Disney change comes with major announcements and tons of social media posts. Sometimes, it’s a quiet permit submission that hints at what’s happening behind the scenes. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Disney filed two permits for work around Disney World, and we’re pretty excited to see one of the changes come through. Disney World submitted a permit to “provide labor, material, and/or electrical for construction” at Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets. ©Disney They also recently announced a holiday overlay for the ride called Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets: Obligatory Holiday Overlay. The overlay runs from November 4th to January 6th, with festival music on the ride and around the queue. It’s all for a holiday concert that only the Electric Mayhem could deliver. ©Disney Dr. Teeth and the rest of the band are deep in rehearsal for their holiday spectacular, and while they practice, some Muppet friends stop by the studio to offer a helping hand
or try to. Rehearsals might not be going quite as expected, and they still have to make it to their concert! It’s Scooter! We have a feeling that this new permit is for the holiday changes! While it’s not confirmed, the timeline matches up since it’s changing in only a few weeks and will require additional labor to get it done. Ready to rock! The second permit is for Earl of Sandwich at Disney Springs to install new signage. Earl of Sandwich There are currently no announced closures or refurbishments, so this might just be a quick change. We see signage installations pop up pretty frequently, and they don’t always involve major changes, but it’s good to keep an eye out for anything that might affect your meal. We track all Disney World changes, so keep following DFB for more! 28. According to KTLA 5, police are searching for a man after two suspicious items were left near the bus roundabout leading to Disneyland on October 12th. Disneyland Officers found two satchel-style bags sitting on a dolly with wires sticking out of them. One nylon bag was duct-taped shut, with what appeared to be sharp objects sticking out. The packages were reported around 9:30 PM near a fence at the Disneyland east entrance roundabout, according to Anaheim Police Department Sgt. Anderson. Disneyland Entrance The roundabout was blocked off while an explosives team and bomb-sniffing dogs were at the scene. The team found the satchel contained marbles, and the nylon bag held several miscellaneous items, including Disney-branded crowns and other objects with pointed edges. At 11:45 PM, investigators determined there was no threat, but they believe the items were intentionally placed to appear suspicious. Police are searching for the man who left the packages and are using surveillance video and witness accounts to identify him. Police have not identified the man, and they have not released any images. Disneyland This is ongoing, and we will update as more information is shared with the public. Keep following DFB for more.
