On the “Horizons: A Carousel of Progress” stage at D23: The Ultimate Fan Event presented by Visa, Neil Patrick Harris was interrupted by Thomas Mazloum, Chairman, Disney Experiences. It was time for an announcement big enough to shake a mountain to its core: “We’re bringing the Yeti back to life inside Expedition Everest at Disney’s Animal Kingdom!” Cheers rocked the crowd, louder than the screech of a legendary beast. As beasts of legend are soothed with song, Gloria Gaynor gave our long-dancing yeti an epic send-off. She paid tribute to our loveable Yeti as only she could, performing her 1978 disco hit, “I Will Survive.” Expedition Everest at Animal Kingdom Nestled inside Disney’s Animal Kingdom, a majestic (and nearly 200-foot) Forbidden Mountain houses a legendary secret. From the moment you enter the queue, the lore of the yeti comes alive, as you peruse a trailside museum featuring evidence of campground attacks, sketches of sightings, and even a footprint mold of a giant yeti foot. Once you’ve boarded an old tea train car and climbed the rocky peaks, you’ll notice a few more obvious signs of the mysterious guardian of the mountain during the high-speed ride, including a few torn train tracks. Inspired by the northwest face of Mount Everest and geological elements found in Tibet and Nepal, Expedition Everest is the perfect hideout for even the most discerning yeti. We now know the future of Spaceship Earth at EPCOT. As Neil Patrick Harris was talking about outer space on the “Horizons: A Carousel of Progress” stage at D23: The Ultimate Fan Event presented by Visa, conversation naturally shifted to our favorite geodesic sphere from the ‘80s. Makes sense. How can you talk about the future of Disney Experiences without discussing the iconic attraction that celebrates humanity’s march from the caves to the cosmos and inspires guests to imagine, create, and build a better tomorrow. Joining him onstage to talk about the engineering marvel were Disney Imagineer Ali Rubinstein and YouTuber Mark Rober. This dynamic duo gave a nice refresher on the iconic opening day EPCOT attraction before jumping into the anticipated news. For the first time in nearly 20 years, Spaceship Earth is getting an update. The Evolution of Spaceship Earth Before our ride vehicle turns around and takes us into the future, let’s celebrate the legacy of Spaceship Earth, a groundbreaking attraction that has inspired guests for generations. Fun Facts about Spaceship Earth Walter Cronkite narrated a script that was added to the attraction in 1986. In fact, since opening, there have been four narrators for Spaceship Earth. The structure is called a “geodesic sphere” because it’s a perfectly round structure that is supported in the air by three pillars. The attraction stands at 180 feet tall with 2.2 million cubic square feet of space inside the geosphere. Spaceship Earth is one of the most complicated ride systems Walt Disney Imagineering has ever created because the ride incorporates a continuously moving train of vehicles that spiral up into the structure before turning “backward” to come back down to Earth. The storyline currently follows the history of human innovation, from prehistoric times to the 21st century. Like the attraction, the evolution of Spaceship Earth has been an exciting journey filled with chapters of progress, displays of ingenuity, and an endless future of invention. Updates Coming to Spaceship Earth It’s time to invent the future! At the showcase, Ali revealed that a re-imagineered Spaceship Earth will be coming to EPCOT, bringing the attraction into the internet age and beyond. What can you expect in the world of tomorrow? The ride currently tells the story of human communication, but the team is reimagining that focus on a broader theme that is still classically EPCOT – human connection. Disneyland Resort entertainment has long had a way of turning incredible performances into lifelong memories, setting the stage from day to night. On the Horizons stage at D23: The Ultimate Fan Event presented by Visa, host Neil Patrick Harris talked about this very feeling and his longtime love for Disneyland entertainment, including the nighttime spectaculars and parades that have dared to dream for years and years. Neil also talked about his deep love for these moments in the park, adding, “I have so many great memories under the stars with my kids. I wish I could go back in time to relive them all over again.” Well, Neil, ask and you shall receive. Some cherished and beloved entertainment is coming back to Disneyland Resort in 2027! Get ready for the return of two fan-favorite nighttime spectaculars and a beloved daytime parade. “Remember… Dreams Come True” Lights Up Disneyland Once Again Longtime Disneyland fans and fireworks enthusiasts alike: you’re in for quite a treat! A refreshed version of the “Remember… Dreams Come True” nighttime spectacular will soon make a triumphant return to Disneyland park in February 2027. In addition to the projections on Sleeping Beauty Castle, the show will feature new projections at Rivers of America, the facade of “it’s a small world,” and all the way down Main Street, U.S.A. Music and projections will delight guests with nightly scheduled performances, and on select evenings, the experience will be enhanced with fireworks above the skies of Disneyland park. You may remember this nighttime spectacular debuted during the 50th anniversary of the Disneyland Resort (also known as The Happiest Homecoming on Earth). Featuring a vocal introduction by the iconic Broadway and film legend Julie Andrews, “Remember… Dreams Come True” illustrates the power of wishes and dreams in favorite Disney stories. Walt Disney’s dream of Disneyland is represented by songs and familiar phrases from some of the park’s most popular attractions. Original “World of Color” Returns to California Adventure On stage, Neil also revealed that fans will soon discover an updated take on the original “World of Color” nighttime spectacular at Disney California Adventure park, starting in February 2027. This version of the show takes you on an imaginative journey into the colorful worlds of Walt Disney Animation Studios like The Little Mermaid and The Lion King, as well as Pixar Animation Studios stories Finding Nemo and Toy Story. Helping to tie it all together is a musical score that includes a special arrangement of the 1960s television theme for Walt Disney’s Wonderful World of Color, originally composed by Richard B. and Robert M. Sherman. “Magic Happens” Parade Returns to Disneyland Just in time for summer 2027, the “Magic Happens” parade will return to Disneyland park to once again fill the streets with inspirational moments of magic from favorite Disney stories. Brought to life on a grand scale with stunning floats, artistic costumes, and imaginative music you’ll spot dynamic performers and characters in this high-energy daytime parade. Led by Mickey Mouse and his pals, the “Magic Happens” parade features distinct stories with a mix of characters, making it feel contemporary and classic, fun and regal, and surprising and familiar – all at the same time. Here, pumpkins become carriages and swords are plucked from a stone, highlighting stories from Disney Animation stories such as Cinderella and The Sword in the Stone, plus Coco from Pixar Animation Studios. Tonight during Horizons: A Carousel of Progress at D23: The Ultimate Fan Event presented by Visa, filmmaker Leslie Iwerks took the stage with Walt Disney Imagineering President and Chief Creative Officer Bruce Vaughn to share exciting news with Disney fans: a second season of The Imagineering Story is officially in production and the first few episodes will debut on Disney+ next year. For nearly 75 years, Walt Disney Imagineers have been turning those ideas into experiences that connect with generations of guests around the world. During the presentation, Bruce reflected on that legacy, tracing Imagineering’s roots back to the creative team Walt Disney assembled to help bring Disneyland to life. Today, that spirit of innovation continues through a global team who are constantly finding new ways to bring Disney stories to life. Before looking ahead, Bruce paused to recognize some of the Disney Legends whose creativity helped shape the Disney experiences fans know and love today, including Tony Baxter, Wing Chao, Robert Coltrin, Bob Gurr, Joe Rohde, and Kim Irvine, who all joined him onstage. Their influence continues to inspire the next generation of Imagineers creating the future. Leslie Iwerks Returns to Tell the Next Chapter To help tell the ever-evolving Imagineering story, Bruce welcomed filmmaker Leslie Iwerks to the stage. As the creator of The Imagineering Story (and recently helmed Disneyland Handcrafted, along with Disney Worldbuilders, streaming August 20 on Disney+, she helped pull back the curtain on Walt Disney Imagineering, giving audiences a rare look at the creativity, challenges, and determination that go into building Disney Experiences. Leslie’s grandfather, Disney Legend Ub Iwerks, helped shape the earliest days of Disney animation. Her father, Disney Legend Don Iwerks, spent decades pushing the boundaries of technology and innovation. Growing up surrounded by Imagineers left a lasting impression, as she told the crowd, “I was really raised by Imagineers.” A Front-Row Seat to the Future When the first season of The Imagineering Story debuted in 2019, it chronicled decades of Disney history. But this next season will capture something different — it will follow Imagineers as they help shape one of the most ambitious periods in Disney Experiences history. According to Bruce, Leslie has been there as many of those projects have moved from blue sky concept to “dirt is moving!” reality. “So a few years ago when it was revealed that dozens of new projects were on the way, you and I started talking about how there may be a new chapter in this tale,” Leslie told Bruce, “Turns out … there are several.” “Leslie has been with us as we’ve put all these new projects in motion,” Bruce shared, adding that she has been granted unprecedented behind-the-scenes access to the creative process. For fans, that means an opportunity to see not only what Imagineers are building, but how they think. “My goal is to make you all feel like you’re right there with me on this journey,” Leslie explained. And we won’t have to wait long to see it. If you’ve ever stepped off Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge wishing your adventure could keep going – or hoped to join Hondo on a new mission beyond Batuu, there is some very good news for you. Announced today during D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event presented by Visa, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run | Fortnite is a first-of-its-kind experience that connects the attraction at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort with an all-new Star Wars adventure called Smugglers Gambit. And yes, that means what happens aboard the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run can continue beyond Batuu, or start on planet Ord Ryla in Fortnite. During a conversation on the Walt Disney Imagineering Center Stage, Ray Gresko, SVP and Head of Product & Development for Disney Games and Digital Entertainment, and Asa Kalama, Executive of Creative & Interactive Experiences at Walt Disney Imagineering, shared insights into the use of Unreal Engine 5 to enable ride customization and discussed the creative collaboration with Lucasfilm that led to the in-house development of Smugglers Gambit in Fortnite. Joined by host Ashley Eckstein, they highlighted how Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run | Fortnite serves as an early example of connecting the physical world of a Disney experience with the digital world of Fortnite, creating new opportunities for guests to interact with and engage across both experiences in deeper and more immersive ways. It could start when you’re climbing into the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon. Or it could start while exploring this brand-new corner of the Star Wars galaxy in Fortnite. Either way, the adventure with Hondo now moves from the queue to your screen at home, or back again. During your smuggling run, you’ll help collect crates for Hondo. Those crates can unlock rewards that carries over into Fortnite, allowing your story to continue after you’ve stepped off the Falcon. At the center of it all is Smugglers Gambit, a brand-new Fortnite island developed in-house by Disney Games and Digital Entertainment. Set around Mersa Veta Station on the planet Ord Ryla, the experience puts players right in the middle of the kind of risky business Hondo seems to specialize in. You’ll team up with friends, take on co-op missions, battle pirates and Imperial remnants, encounter dangerous wildlife, unlock new gear, and build your reputation across the Outer Rim. And because this is Hondo we’re talking about, there are plenty of opportunities for things to go wonderfully right… or spectacularly wrong. Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run | Fortnite launches Sunday, August 16, 2026, when the park opens at Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios near Orlando, Florida. Smugglers Gambit will go live in Fortnite the same day. The experience is included at no additional cost with valid theme park admission. Hello from D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event presented by Visa! The Disney Parks Blog team is soaking up every second of this year’s festivities, from shopping on the show floor to showcasing our favorite moments and announcements. And as day two kicks off, we are recapping everything you need to know about one of the most highly-anticipated events – Mousequerade: The Ultimate Disney Costume Contest presented by AT&T. The costume contest has wrapped up, and our team was in the room where it happens so that we could share more about the winners, judges’ reactions, and of course, some pretty impressive Disney Parks-inspired attire. What is Mousequerade? Since the first official contest in 2015, Mousequerade has brought together some of the most crafty and creative Disney fans to sew off their stylish skills. It is a celebration of fandom and fashion, and how when those two worlds combine, truly magical things can happen. Cosplayers are invited to step into the spotlight and debut one-of-a-kind designs, often bringing deep-cut Disney characters, worlds, and attractions to life in imaginative and innovative ways. Some fun facts about the Mousequerade entry requirements: Costumes must be an original, handmade design and cannot be a purchased or professionally made costume. Costume must fit through a standard door (80” h x 36” w) when not fully worn. Use of innovation and technology in costumes are encouraged (think digital design, 3D printing, even animated effects or interactive elements) Submissions closed back in April for the contest, and today the top-scoring Single Category entrants and Group Category entries took to the stage for an unforgettable display of Disney-inspired artistry. Finalists were judged based on a combination of criteria: Craftsmanship of Costume(s), Originality of Costume(s), Use of Color and Materials, Execution of Storytelling, Creative Use of Disney, and On Stage Presentation: 25%. Host Nina West alongside judges Ashley Eckstein, Bobby Kim, and Yvette Nicole Brown kept the energy onstage positive and audience vibe high as they oohed and aahed over this year’s lavish looks. In the Audience at Mousequerade Audience members excitedly entered the Premiere Stage space as the day was just getting started, many of them also dressed in eye-catching costumes. In addition to Disney Princess characters, Super Heroes, and Disney Channel icons, we saw lots of Disney Parks-inspired ensembles, like the Hatbox Ghost from The Haunted Mansion and even the hanging stained glass light fixtures found at places like Refreshment Corner. Even those not in full cosplay subtly showed off their Disney fandom with accents like bag charms, ear headbands, and graphic tees. As participants were invited to share their custom creations, Nina West kicked things off with a dazzling Broadway-style musical number. Disney Legend Jodi Benson even made a surprise appearance halfway through, gushing “I absolutely adore this event!” We were then introduced to this year’s judges, who had already met with the competitors backstage to get an up-close look at their work. “I was blown away by the talent, the creativity, the individuality,” said first-time judge Bobby Kim, VP, Global Creative Director of Disney Consumer Products. They are tasked with selecting contestants to take home the crown in the categories of solo entries, cast of characters, and innovation and technology. And then it’s up to those in the crowd to select the winner for the audience choice award! As the show began, it was so special seeing the hard work of the contestants truly come to life, as we learned fun facts about their process and pieces. Some had glow in the dark accents, recycled materials, or hand dyed fabrics, while others boasted programmable lights, inflatable elements, and onstage transformations. One design alone had 30,000 crystals and 500 LED lights! From unique mashups and reimagining of classic characters to designs pulled straight from the screen or Disney Parks, the lineup was full of surprises. Disney Parks-Inspired Costumes at Mousequerade It feels fitting that the winning costume in the solo category was inspired by a beloved Disneyland park attraction, the King Arthur Carrousel. This is one of the original opening day attractions at the park from 1955, and most of its horses date back more than 90 years. “A Jest of a Carrousel Ride” beautifully captured the attraction’s charm, history, and craftsmanship with a corseted top paired with an intricate skirt and puffed sleeves. This costume, made by Julieanna Trinidade, also took home the recognition for innovation and use of technology, because of the rotating headpiece and motorized 3-D printed horse. It was a magnificent creation, and sweet love letter to a timeless attraction that perfectly incorporated modern techniques and technologies. Some of the materials used in creating today’s costumes: Satin Taffeta Sequins Rhinestones Shells Velvet Burlap Foam Denim Polymer Clay Vinyl Feathers There were other entries that transported the audience right to Disney Parks, like the Disney’s Alice in Wonderland design inspired by the work of Mary Blair, who worked with Disney on multiple attractions and is known for her whimsical, child-like art style. This couture design had a hand-painted skirt with velvet, satin, and silk among the materials used, and made us feel like we had fallen right down the rabbit hole. Another standout entry was “The Auctioneer and the Redhead,” which brought to life two of the most memorable Audio-Animatronics figures from the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. The Auctioneer and Redd took to the stage, even posing and moving in a manner that mimicked what guests see as they sail past the scene during the dark ride. There’s actually a Redd limited-edition doll available here during D23 2026, and we have everything you need to know about this fierce pirate! The winner of the audience choice award, presented by Jodi Benson, had ties to Disney Parks as well, and was clearly a fan-favorite pick. “To Pizza and Beyond” introduced the duo of Buzz Lightyear and Woody from Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story, but with a tasty twist. The two entered the stage disguised as a burger box and drink cup from Pizza Planet, which is featured in the film and exists at Disneyland park as Alien Pizza Planet, a quick-service restaurant serving up pizza, pasta, and themed sweet treats. Y’all, we’re at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, and there is just SO much to see and do that we’re almost a little overwhelmed as we walk through the Anaheim Convention Center (just steps away from Disneyland!). ©D23 Well, one thing we’ve also been doing is some SHOPPING because there are SO many amazing shopping opportunities at the event, including all kinds of exclusive merchandise you can’t find anywhere else. While we were shopping, we discovered some of the COOLEST merchandise and souvenirs, and we just HAVE to share it with you. Apparel First up, we found some of the SWEETEST clothing items we’ve seen in a while. It probably helps that we stopped by a store featuring a new brand created by Disney Imagineering called .YNSD. .YNSD We found a ton of shirts that really stood out to us, so get ready for this haul! .NYSD clothing We love this design! .NYSD clothing This shirt lists all the cities that hold a Disney Park! .NYSD clothing Look closely…there’s more than meets the eye to the designs of these clothes. .NYSD clothing Such interesting designs on some of these clothes. .NYSD clothing We LOVED the jackets that were at .YNSD. They had this black one… .NYSD clothing …and this more fancy brown one, with a floral pattern inside. .NYSD clothing What was interesting is that two of the shirts in this first series collection are activated by black light. .NYSD clothing These designs are seriously so cool! .NYSD clothing .NYSD had some pants… .NYSD clothing …and hats as well. So, you could build a whole outfit created by Imagineering here. Check out this hat! That wasn’t the only place to get clothing at D23. We found this Genovia sweater at the D23 Marketplace. It’s a great grab for Princess Diaries fans! Did you know Disney announced they’re doing a third movie with Anne Hathaway? Genovia sweater Disney may not have announced a live-action movie, but there’s no shortage of Hercules at the Marketplace. We found this Spirit Jersey based on the animated classic! Hercules Spirit Jersey Fans of The Muppets will love this cardigan! It features 3D plushes of Kermit and Beaker on it, and the colors just pop. This isn’t the only Muppets merch at D23, but we’ll show you the BIG thing in a little bit! Muppets cardigan Accessories All that great clothing is nothing without the right accessories, right? So let’s talk about some fun things we’ve seen. You know Loungeflys and us, so we ran over to this Hercules Loungefly as soon as we spotted it. Look at this! There were some accessories that have been popular buys from Princess Diaries fans, like this Genovia bag… Genovia bag …and this notebook. Genovia diary .YNSD had more than just clothing. Check out these bracelets created by Disney Imagineers. They are sure to spicen up your outfit. .NYSD bracelets .YNSD also had this gorgeous bag. In case you were wondering, yes, our wallets are already hurting. .YNSD bag Home and Kitchen We didn’t look at a ton of home and kitchen items, but you know how we feel about our Disney mugs, so this 101 Dalmatians mug caught our eyes right away. 101 Dalmatians mug We also found a Pixar one for all the Pixar fans at the Expo! Pixar mug! We don’t know if this would classify as a home item or a collectible, but if you’re looking to add some Star Wars to your home, we found these Stormtrooper helmet wooden pieces. They would make for some awesome decor. Stormtrooper helmet pieces They had the same thing as Stitch as well! They reminded us of something you’d see at Disney’s Polynesian Resort. These are awesome! Toys, Collectibles, and Games Okay, where are our collectors at? Because we found a lot of stuff that will make toy and collectibles fans happy. We saw some ADORABLE plush icons inspired by a few of our favorite Disney Princesses. Plush icons They also had plushies themed after the icons at the Disney Parks, like Sleeping Beauty Castle… Plush Sleeping Beauty Castle …popcorn and popcorn carts… Popcorn plush …and the iconic Disney trash cans. Disney trash can plush! Hey Mike and Sully! Look at this! Star Wars fans would’ve loved the merchandise at D23 this year. They had R2-D2, Wicked, and Grogu collectible robots. Star Wars toys However, what really stood out to us was the Mouse Droid robot. You could have this rolling around your house as if you’re living on the Death Star. This is awesome! For those who collect dolls, you would love this Mickey Mouse and Guest Relations Cast Member set. This is one of those items that you would definitely put on display! Mickey and Cast Member They also had a doll of Redd from the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction at Disney. Redd from Pirates There were so many cool items for collectors, but nothing compared to the Muppets puppets that were available. D23 had a Kermit and Miss Piggy puppet, and they were $40,000! They’re made the way the ACTUAL Muppets puppets were made, so they are as authentic a collectible as you could get. Disney World is home to SO MANY beautiful resort hotels, and even more are on their way! Coronado Springs With over 30 hotels, it can be hard to choose where to stay. But the best part about these hotels is that you don’t have to be staying there to visit them! There are some we’d actually rather not stay at and just enjoy without the expense of staying over. For us, there is one specific answer to the following question: Which Disney resort is better for visiting than staying? Now, this answer may come as a shock because we’re always singing our praises about it, but the truth is, most of the time we’d rather just visit it. Our answer mainly comes down to a few things: dining options, atmosphere, location, cost, and room size. Bringing all of those factors together, the Disney resort we’d rather visit than spend a night at is Disney’s Riviera Resort. Chip at Disney’s Riviera Resort Let’s break down the factors that led us here… Dining Options One of the plus sides of this resort is its incredible dining locations, and you don’t need to be staying here to try them! Le Petit Cafe Named after the venue featured in the 1970 classic The Aristocats, Le Petit Cafe offers pastries and specialty coffees during the day and turns to offering light bites and cocktails in the evening. This dining location is a MUST for us whenever we’re in the area, and we particularly love their Almond Cold Brew and Raspberry Brioche! They are open from 6:30 AM to 9 PM each day. Le Petit Cafe Bar Riva Bar Riva is Riviera’s pool bar, but it’s not like any other Disney resort pool bar — this one is a lot more elevated. They offer covered seating with table service and quite a hefty menu of Mediterranean dishes. On the menu, you’ll find salads, pita, a burger, pasta, and even a seasonal pizza, as well as a few shareable plates. And the dessert is really where Bar Riva shines because they have a delicious Warm Cookie Skillet topped with gelato! This location is open from 11 AM to 10 PM each day. Riviera Cookie Skillet Primo Piatto Riveria’s quick-service location is on the ground level of the resort. We LOVE this dining location because they have so many different options — all of which are delicious — and a Coke Freestyle machine, so there is a plethora of drinks to choose from! Guests can find classic dishes, like chicken tenders or pizza, but they can also find more adventurous dishes, like the Croque Monsieur and the Mediterranean salad. Though it’s seen some price increases recently, we’d still go out of our way to grab a quick lunch or dinner here! They are open from 7 AM to 11 PM every day. Primo Piatto Topolino’s Terrace – Flavors of the Riviera The table-service restaurant at the Riviera offers two unique dining options — a character-dining breakfast with Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Daisy, and a more sophisticated dinner without the characters. It is located on the rooftop of the Riviera, so the fireworks view from here is spectacular. This dining location is open from 7:30 AM to 12:15 PM for breakfast and 5 PM to 9:30 PM for dinner each day. Topolino’s Terrace Atmosphere The atmosphere of the Riviera is also absolutely stunning. The resort itself is inspired by Europe, and you can see that through the architecture and the decor throughout the resort. The vibes are extremely welcoming and relaxing, so it’s perfect for a resort day away from the chaos of the Disney parks. Riviera Resort Lobby But it wouldn’t be a Disney resort without those magical touches. Walking to and from the Disney Skyliner, guests can walk under a tunnel featuring several Disney mosaic murals — one from Peter Pan and one from Tangled! These are absolutely jaw-dropping and add so much Disney magic to the already beautiful resort. Peter Pan Mural at Disney’s Riviera Resort Location One of the best parts of the Riviera is its location. The resort is located along the Skyliner route, meaning it’s just a ride away from EPCOT and a transfer away from Hollywood Studios. So, if you’re visiting the resort and want to take a quick trip to one of these parks, it’s easy-peasy! The Skyliner also has access to Caribbean Beach Resort, Pop Century Resort, and Art of Animation Resort. Skyliner Station at Disney’s Riviera Resort Cost Here’s where staying here becomes the downfall. It’s quite costly to stay here, especially if you have a longer stay. Since this resort falls into the Deluxe Villa category, it can cost roughly $500 per night to stay here during off-peak seasons, and that’s at the cheapest rate. Staying here during the holidays and in the summer can increase the price immensely — we’re talking about $1,000 a night or more. Disney’s Riviera Resort Room Size And the thing that really sealed the deal for visiting over staying at this resort was the room size. For the amount you’re paying to stay here, the room is severely undersized. It is much smaller than the other Deluxe Resorts, so you won’t have as much room to spread out. Model of Deluxe Studio at Disney’s Riviera Resort Taking all of those factors into consideration, visiting this resort is a MUCH better option than staying here. The only thing you’re really missing out on if you don’t stay here is Early Entry, Extended Evening Hours, and the fact that you can check another Disney hotel off of your list. Lorcana is a super popular Disney-themed trading card game. Your favorite Disney heroes and villains are being attacked, and it’s up to you to save them! At D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, Disney just announced that Lorcana is coming back to a popular Disney World festival. That’s right, you can get MORE Lorcana cards at the 2027 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts! Following the success of last year’s activities, Disney Lorcana TCG is returning to the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts in 2027. Back in 2026, you could get free cards for completing a scavenger hunt quest around the park. You could pick up a Festival Questbook for the “Ink and Find” adventure that had us walking around EPCOT looking for larger-than-life trading cards. It’s a scavenger hunt for giant Lorcana cards all throughout World Showcase! Found Stitch! When you’d found all the giant cards, you’d get a limited-edition Magical Places promo card. Disney didn’t confirm which specific events will return, but festival events don’t typically change much from year to year. Does this mean we can get even more free Lorcana cards in 2027?!? It’s officially D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, which means hundreds of thousands of Disney fans are congregating in Anaheim, California, for major Disney news. We love pin trading! But there’s one frequently overlooked D23 activity that we try to participate in at every expo: pin trading. If you’re also pin trading at D23, you NEED to follow these 10 rules! If you’re a new pin trader, you’re probably wondering what pins you can trade at D23 in the first place. D23 says that the main criteria to judge if a pin is an official Disney pin is that it’s metal, with a “©Disney” symbol on the back. Your pins should be in good, tradeable condition, and you can only trade one pin at a time with the backing included. Pins at EPCOT! Pins from divisions of The Walt Disney Company like ABC or ESPN are tradeable at D23. Pins from operating partners that show a Disney affiliation, like Disney, Disneyland, or Walt Disney World text, are also tradeable. Plastic pins, rubber pins, and other non-metal pins, plus brooches and clasp pins, are not accepted! Muppets Pins If you’re trading with Cast Members, you can only trade a maximum of two pins per Cast Member all day. You shouldn’t touch a Cast Member or guest’s lanyard or pin display, but instead ask if they can bring it towards you for a closer look. Additionally, when trading with a Cast Member, you should offer a pin that isn’t currently displayed to avoid duplicates. Time to trade! While checking out the rules, we also noticed some funny ones that we don’t normally see! One said “Trading of concession stand hot dogs and personal shoes is prohibited” and another said, “Trading with Stormtroopers and Maleficent should be done at your own risk.” You have to follow these rules at D23! We know when The Mandalorian and Grogu are dropping on Disney+, and it’s sooner than you think! The Mandalorian and Grogu Disney just announced the Disney+ release date of the latest installment in the Star Wars universe, The Mandalorian and Grogu. Get those calendars out, because we’re booking off a movie night next month! Next month, fans can join new missions taken on by the beloved Star Wars duo, as The Mandalorian and Grogu will begin streaming exclusively on Disney+ on September 2nd. Mando and Grogu’s first feature film will be added to the bounty hunter’s collection of content on the streaming platform, joining the Disney+ exclusive series, The Mandalorian. ©Disney That’s not all the Mandalorian content dropping on Disney+ next month! Lucasfilm also announced the Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu Official Podcast, a behind-the-scenes look at the making of this summer’s theatrical release, will go live on Disney+ on September 2nd at 6:00 PM PT. The podcast will have two episodes: Episode 1: Growing Up, and Episode 2: Bigger & Different. ©Disney Guests on the podcast will include director/co-writer/producer Jon Favreau, Lucasfilm President and CCO Dave Filoni, Academy Award-winning composer Ludwig Göransson, and the on-screen stars of the film, Pedro Pascal and Sigourney Weaver. And if you’ve ever wished you could combine the excitement of the festival entertainment with the joy of snacking your way through the park, we’ve got the PERFECT activity for you! Did you know that you can gamify your love of cheese with Emile’s Fromage Montage at the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival?? Emile’s Fromage Montage Emile’s Fromage Montage is EPCOT Food & Wine Festival’s official cheese-themed food crawl! To get started on one of our favorite recent traditions, check the Festival Passport for the list of eligible items. Then, purchase any five items from the list that you choose (be sure to ask a Cast Member at the register to stamp your Festival Passport for each one you buy!), and once you’ve collected all five stamps, you’ll get a free prize for completing the crawl! 2025 EPCOT Food and Wine Festival Passport — Emile’s Fromage Montage Stamp Collecting Page! This is a super fun way to add some extra excitement to snacking your way through the festival, especially if you were already interested in sampling several of the dishes included in the crawl. It’s a choose-your-own-adventure-style activity, so you can pick any of the five items on the list, including repeat dishes if you find a favorite. Plus, you don’t have to complete it all in one day (although you certainly can, if you want!); just remember to save your Festival Passport so you don’t lose your stamps! It’s D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, and we’re so excited for all the new Disney Park news and updates that will be announced this weekend. But there’s one land that we’re super excited for: Magic Kingdom‘s Piston Peak National Park! Welcome to Piston Peak! We just got a major sneak peek of a brand-new original character coming to Piston Peak! As you move through the queue for the new rally race attraction, you’ll be introduced to a new character: Ranger J. Autobahn Woodlore. (This is a nod to Ranger J. Audubon Woodlore, the park ranger from Disney’s Humphrey the Bear and Donald Duck cartoons.) An animatronic of Ranger J. Autobahn Woodlore will be featured in a pre-show, where he’ll tell you about the history of Piston Peak and its folklore, which Disney has promised we’ll learn more about later. Ranger J. Autobahn Woodlore ©Disney We just got a new rendering of Ranger at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event! Disney confirmed that he’ll be a full audio-animatronic figure in the pre-show of the Rally Racers ride. He looks so cute with his little glasses and park ranger hat! ©Disney Ranger isn’t the only character coming to the Rally Race attraction. Each ride vehicle (a car, of course!) will have its own name, number, and personality. They’re designed to look like off-road vehicles with those lovable faces up front! Such cool cars! It’s D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, and Disney just displayed a full 3D model of Magic Kingdom‘s most anticipated new land: Piston Peak National Park. Piston Peak Model at D23 2026 We were super excited to get a look at the new rides coming to Cars Land, but being Disney Food Blog, we had to live up to our name and report on the restaurants coming to Piston Peak National Park! This model of the land is pretty big, but a small detail caught our eye! This lonely little shed is technically inside Piston Peak, but if you look at the tracks in the water behind it, that’s Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, and the wooden bridge between them is still at Magic Kingdom. What could this be? But what used to be at that same location? The snack stand Westward Ho! This unlabeled building is likely a snack stand to replace the now-closed spot. Westward Ho Does this mean we can get Frozen Lemonade and our beloved Bacon Pecan Cinnamon Roll at Cars Land soon?!? We hope so! Bacon Pecan Cinnamon Roll from Westward Ho Additionally, there might be a second quick-service spot in Piston Peak National Park. This little blue truck has an awning like a food truck with a line of people outside. Could a food truck be coming to Cars Land, too? We think it’s likely! A food truck??? There are quite a few more unlabeled buildings in Piston Peak, but it’s currently unclear if Disney will add more restaurants to the dining lineup. With a land this large, it’s very likely, but Disney still hasn’t confirmed anything. Piston Peak National Park With the ultra-popular Flo’s V-8 Cafe and Cozy Cone Motel restaurants in Cars Land in Disney California Adventure, we’re hoping some popular Cars snacks will make their way to Magic Kingdom.
