Something new has just arrived at Disney World, and it’s going to thrill fans of The Muppets! New Muppets souvenir! One of our favorite quick stops for a snack or a drink at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is FØØD by Swedish Chef, located right next to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets. We’ve recommended that you stop by there before, but now you really need too! Right now, you can get a special novelty souvenir, and it’s only around for a limited time! For a limited time, you can get two drinks at FØØD by Swedish Chef in a special Rock ‘N’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets novelty cup! The cup is in the shape of a beaker and has the same artwork of Animal and the band that’s on the attractions poster. A new souvenir is here! The two drinks you can get in the souvenir cup at FØØD by Swedish Chef are the Pink Le-moi-nade and Pond Water Limeade. We’ve tried both drinks before, and we really enjoyed them. They’re a great buy if you’re looking for something fun and refreshing, and now the drinks have gotten a big upgrade! We love this cup! You’ll find the popular rides logo on the other side of the cup. To be honest, we just had a lot of fun drinking out of this souvenir. We love this souvenir! Guess what? The souvenir cup doesn’t cost anything extra! That’s right, it’s automatically what both drinks are currently being served in. Buy the drink, and you just get the souvenir. This cup is only available while supplies last, and we aren’t sure how many are available. They could go very quickly, but they could also last a while. Our recommendation is that you don’t wait too long. Grab this new souvenir! You do have to purchase one of the drinks in order to get the cup; you won’t be able to buy it on its own. Take it from us, Cast Members know where it’s worth dining and spending your money while at Disney World. Crème Brûlée Croissant If there’s one group of people who know where to eat in Magic Kingdom, it’s the Cast Members who spend their days roaming the park. We asked our former and current Cast Members on our team which restaurant spots consistently earn a nod of approval. Here are 4 Cast Member-approved restaurants in Magic Kingdom that deserve a spot on your must-eat list. 1. The Plaza Restaurant The Plaza Restaurant is located right down Main Street U.S.A. The Plaza Restaurant is a table-service gem that often gets overshadowed by its flashier castle-adjacent neighbor. Popular items here include the Plaza Burger, the Grilled Chicken Club Sandwich, and the Plaza Ice Cream Sundae, piled high with hot fudge and whipped cream. The Plaza Restaurant We love The Plaza because it offers a rare combination in Magic Kingdom: a relaxed, air-conditioned sit-down meal with genuinely good food, but at a great price point. It’s the kind of low-key, high-reward spot Cast Members love to recommend to guests who don’t know it exists yet. Read Our Latest Plaza Restaurant Review Here! The Plaza Restaurant full spread 2. Columbia Harbour House One restaurant you’ll hear us talk about a lot is Columbia Harbour House, and for good reason! Located in Liberty Square, Columbia Harbour House is a quick-service favorite for guests craving something a little more substantial than typical theme park fare. The Lobster Roll and the Maple-Mustard Glazed Salmon are consistently popular. Columbia Harbour House We love Columbia Harbour House for its charming nautical theming, its surprisingly extensive menu for a counter-service location, and its often-overlooked upstairs seating area, which offers a quiet, cozy respite from the crowds below. It’s proof that quick service doesn’t have to mean a compromise on quality or atmosphere. Read Our Latest Review of Columbia Harbour House! Columbia Harbour House 3. Sleepy Hollow Refreshments If you need a quick bite that still feels like a treat, Sleepy Hollow in Liberty Square is where Cast Members send their friends and family. The Waffle with Chocolate-Hazelnut Spread, Bananas, Berries, and Whipped Cream is a favorite as well as the Hand-dipped Corn Dog. Sleepy Hollow Refreshments We love Sleepy Hollow because it does one thing and does it exceptionally well: sweet, portable, walk-and-eat snacks that are perfect for enjoying while you make your way toward the castle or wait for a parade to start. It’s a small window with a mighty menu. Read Our Latest Review of Sleepy Hollow Refreshments Here! Sleepy Hollow 4. Gaston’s Tavern Nestled in Fantasyland, Gaston’s Tavern is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates good theming as much as good food. The undisputed star here is LeFou’s Brew — a frozen apple juice slush topped with a passion fruit-mango foam — but the enormous Cinnamon Roll is just as beloved. Gaston’s Tavern We love Gaston’s Tavern for its immersive atmosphere, complete with antlers and a roaring fireplace. It’s a small counter-service spot that delivers a big dose of Disney magic. The portions here are generous, and we often find ourselves splitting a few items. Read Our Latest Review of Gaston’s Tavern Here! Delicious breakfast Cast members know Magic Kingdom’s menu better than anyone, and their picks reveal four spots that deliver way more than the average guest expects. Believe it or not, 2027 is already on the horizon, and Disney World fans are already planning their trips. That includes targeting where they want to eat, and for various reasons, the restaurants they’re choosing are topping many lists… though not only because of food. A solid meal Beginning in June 2026, Disney made a major change to their transportation offerings. Specifically, guests now need to show a hotel or dining reservation in order to use the buses or boats leaving Disney Springs. This rule has been enacted before during busy times of year, but now it is becoming permanent. So, in addition to wanting to dine at some of these restaurants, guests are booking them strategically in order to access Disney World hotels and transportation methods. Steakhouse 71 Let’s begin with Steakhouse 71 at the Contemporary Resort. This restaurant, named after Disney World’s opening year, offers a menu based on some of “Walt’s favorites,” including Walt’s Prime Rib Hash for breakfast and classic dinner offerings, such as French Onion Soup, Prime Rib, 6-oz Filet Mignon, or Dry-aged Bone-In Pork Chops. The restaurant and its connected lounge include a portfolio of Disney family wines and cocktails reminiscent of the 1970s. Steakhouse 71 Being at the Contemporary, a reservation at the restaurant offers access to the Disney World Monorail. The same can be said for reservations at the Contemporary’s other restaurants like California Grill and Chef Mickey’s, as well as those at the Polynesian Village Resort and the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Monorail It’s Actually Ridiculous That People Don’t Know About THIS at Disney’s Contemporary Resort Grand Floridian Cafe Speaking of Monorail Line restaurants, guests will also be flocking to the Grand Floridian Cafe at the Grand Floridian (what a coincidence). The popular eatery has been undergoing a refurbishment for most of the second spring and summer of 2026, though it is scheduled to reopen in October, meaning that it should be available for all of 2027. The Grand Floridian Cafe should have reopened by 2027 Room Prices Revealed: How Much a Christmas Stay at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort Costs This Year Cake Bake Shop Known for its menu of breakfast classics, upscale brunch, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner, cocktails, and, of course, given the name, decadent desserts, the Cake Bake Shop has become one of Disney World’s most popular eateries… and toughest reservations to get. Slice of Cotton Candy Cake In addition, the Cake Bake Shop’s location at the BoardWalk Inn puts it within walking distance of not only EPCOT, but also the Disney World Skyliner. Other restaurants on — or close to — the Skyliner route include Beaches and Cream between the Yacht and Beach Club Resorts, Sebastian’s Bistro at the Caribbean Beach Resort, and Topolino’s Terrace at the Riviera Resort. Disney Skyliner NEWS! Close-Up Look at the NEW BoardWalk Restaurant in Disney World Yachtsman Steakhouse Another restaurant close to the Skyliner is also going to be open in refurbished form in 2027. The Yacht Club’s popular, New England-themed Yachtsman Steakhouse has been closed since the spring, with an estimated reopening for the refreshed restaurant in the summer of 2026, meaning it should be available for guests throughout all of 2027. Yachtsman Steakhouse Which of these restaurants is best for you? Our Guide to Disney World Dining pulls it all together so you can stop stressing and focus on the fun without feeling like you’re missing a thing! Boatwright’s Dining Hall Located at the Port Orleans Resort – Riverside, Boatwright’s offers a menu of Louisiana favorites including the Bayou All-You-Care-To-Enjoy Platter (featuring hickory-smoked ribs, barbecue spice baked chicken, beef brisket, mashed potatoes, macaroni & cheese, and a seasonal vegetable with sauteed corn and bacon), shrimp pappardelle, roasted prime rib, and Boatwright’s signature jambalaya. For dessert, you can enjoy bourbon chocolate cake or take a quick walk to the Scat Cat’s Club for the famous beignets. Boatwright’s Jambalaya The Port Orleans Resort is on the Sassagoula River, which features watercraft that link Disney Springs to the Port Orleans Riverside, Port Orleans French Quarter, Old Key West, and Saratoga Springs resorts. Other restaurants at those aforementioned hotels also offer guests the opportunity to board the boats now. Sassagoula River Boat When it comes to Disney World dining in 2027, we’re expecting these popular hotel restaurants to be some of the most in-demand restaurants on property. Is it safe to say that Walt Disney World just feels like one massive construction site right now?! Haunted Mansion Ok, we may be exaggerating a little bit, but there is a lot of construction happening across the entire resort. That’s only because Disney likes to keep everything in tip-top shape, and they have a TON of new stuff on the way, which we are very excited about. So, we’ll take construction! We’ve been patiently waiting for things to open and for construction to be finished, and we’re happy to report that the scrim is finally DOWN at a popular attraction in Magic Kingdom! Haunted Mansion had been undergoing a lengthy exterior refurbishment and hiding behind a massive scrim for months. Disney tried their best to make it not seem too weird, as the scrim has a photo of what the Haunted Mansion building looks like. That being said, it did NOT look like the attraction we know and love. Haunted Mansion with the scrim Well, we noticed yesterday that the scrim is finally down! Doesn’t it just look so much better?! No more scrim! It’s nice to see Haunted Mansion in all its glory again. Some obvious work has been done on the exterior. The building’s colors have gotten a touch-up, and now the popular attraction is looking refreshed. Some of the stones and other details around the exterior look like they’ve been painted gray instead of the light brown they used to be! Take a look at the before… Haunted Mansion in 2025 …and after! Haunted Mansion after the refurb You can obviously see that work isn’t fully complete yet, as there is still scrim on the bottom part of the railing of the building. Based on the fact that the coloring has changed for other parts of the building, we’re thinking we could be seeing more color changes at the bottom of the building. Maybe to match the new color scheme and vibe of the building. Work still happening The agents at Small World Vacations know how to save money on your Disney Vacation! If you’ve ever stayed at a Disney World resort with more than one pool, you’ve probably wondered: can I actually swim at any of them, or am I stuck with the one closest to my room? Massive pool! Here’s the good news — at every Disney World resort with multiple pools, you’re free to pool hop between them! There’s no rule limiting you to the pool nearest your building, so you can explore every themed splash zone, quiet pool, and feature pool your resort has to offer, all without switching hotels. We rounded up all 16 Disney World resorts where this perk is in play, along with the names of every pool you’ll have access to. Grab your sunscreen — here’s where you can make the most of your resort’s pools this year. All-Star Resorts (Movies, Music, and Sports) There are three All-Star Resorts, and each resort has multiple pools. At Disney’s All-Star Sports, you’ll find the surf-themed Surfboard Bay Pool and the baseball diamond-shaped Grand Slam Pool. Over at All-Star Music, guests can splash in the Calypso Pool or the Piano Pool. And All-Star Movies is home to the Fantasia Pool, with its Sorcerer Mickey fountain, plus the hockey rink-shaped Duck Pond Pool. While you cannot pool hop between the resorts, each of these offers a few unique pools to pick from. Grand Slam Pool Pop Century Resort Disney’s Pop Century has three pools to choose from, each tucked into a different decade-themed section of the resort. The flower-shaped Hippy Dippy Pool is the main pool, representing the 1960s. For something quieter, head to the Bowling Pool (1950s) or the Computer Pool (1990s). Hippy Dippy Pool at Pop Century Art of Animation Resort Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is home to the largest hotel pool at all of Disney World: the Finding Nemo-themed Big Blue Pool. From there, guests can pool hop to the Cars-themed Cozy Cone Pool or the Little Mermaid-inspired Flippin’ Fins Pool, both considered quieter spots. The Big Blue Pool at Art of Animation Wilderness Lodge Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort’s main pool, the Copper Creek Springs Pool, is themed like a spring-fed mountain pool, complete with a 67-foot waterslide built into the rocks. Guests can also head to the more laid-back Boulder Ridge Cove Pool, nestled among the Boulder Ridge Villas. Both pools are open to all Wilderness Lodge guests. Wilderness Lodge Contemporary Resort and Bay Lake Tower This one’s a two-for-one! Guests staying at either the Contemporary Resort or Bay Lake Tower have access to all three pools across both hotels. At the Contemporary, that means the Feature Pool (with its curving waterslide) and the quieter Bay Lake Pool. Bay Lake Tower guests and their neighbors can also use the Bay Cove Pool, which comes with its own 148-foot waterslide and views of Bay Lake. Contemporary Feature Pool Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Animal Kingdom Lodge is really two resort areas in one, and guests can use either pool no matter which side they’re staying on. Jambo House has the Uzima Springs Pool, a zero-entry pool with a 67-foot waterslide. Over at Kidani Village, the Samawati Springs Pool offers a 128-foot waterslide and the interactive Uwanja Camp water play area. A note for animal lovers: because Uzima Springs sits so close to the savanna, there’s no pool hopping right at that specific pool, but guests can still use both resort pools overall. Time for Some Fun in the Sun Riviera Resort Disney’s Riviera Resort keeps it simple with two pools. The main Riviera Pool includes a slide that winds around a column tower, plus the S’il Vous Play splash area for kids. Just steps away is the quieter Beau Soleil Pool, ideal for guests who want a more relaxed swim. S’il Vous Play Kids Area Polynesian Village Resort Guests staying at the Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort or the Island Tower villas can use all three of the resort’s pools. The volcano-themed Lava Pool is the main event, featuring a 142-foot waterslide. The Oasis Pool offers a quieter, saltwater alternative, and the newest addition, the Cove Pool near Island Tower, comes with the Moana-themed Moana’s Voyage splash area for little ones. Cove Pool BoardWalk Inn BoardWalk Inn’s carnival-themed Luna Park Pool is the star of the show, complete with its 200-foot Keister Coaster waterslide. But guests aren’t limited to just that one — there are also two quieter leisure pools on the property (one near the Inn’s Rose Garden Courtyard and another by Community Hall on the Villas side) for a calmer swim. BoardWalk’s Luna Park Pool Caribbean Beach Resort As one of the largest resorts at Disney World, Disney’s Caribbean Beach has six pools total. The pirate-themed Fuentes del Morro Pool is the feature pool, with two waterslides and water cannons. Beyond that, each of the resort’s five villages has its own leisure pool: the Aruba Village Pool, Barbados Village Pool, Jamaica Village Pool, Martinique Village Pool, and Trinidad Village Pool. Fuentes del Morro pool at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort Grand Floridian Resort & Spa Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort keeps things elegant with two pools open to all resort and villa guests. The Beach Pool is the busier of the two, with a 181-foot waterslide and views of Seven Seas Lagoon. The Courtyard Pool, located behind the main lobby, offers a quieter, more tranquil swim. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort Courtyard Pool Old Key West Resort Disney’s Old Key West has four pools spread across its sprawling grounds. The Sandcastle Pool is the main feature pool, complete with a sandcastle-themed waterslide. From there, guests can hop to any of the resort’s three quiet pools, located in the Old Turtle Pond, South Point, and Miller’s Road sections. Old Key West Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa With five pools on property, Disney’s Saratoga Springs gives guests plenty of options. The High Rock Spring Pool is the resort’s main pool, with a 128-foot waterslide and a Donald Duck-themed kids’ play area. The Paddock Pool is the resort’s second feature pool, featuring a 146-foot waterslide built into a water tower. Rounding things out are three quiet pools at the Grandstand, Congress Park, and the Treehouse Villas. Saratoga Springs Coronado Springs Resort Disney’s Coronado Springs‘ main pool area, known as the Dig Site, is home to the Mayan ruins-themed Lost City of Cibola Pool, complete with a 123-foot waterslide. Guests can also pool hop to any of the resort’s three quiet pools, located in the Casitas, Ranchos, and Cabanas sections. Dig Site Whether you’re staying at a Value resort or a Deluxe resort, there’s a good chance your hotel has more than one pool waiting for you — and the best part is, you don’t have to pick just one! Across all 16 of these resorts, guests are free to explore every pool their resort has to offer, from feature pools with towering waterslides to quiet leisure pools perfect for an afternoon nap in the sun. Without any preamble or official announcement, Universal Studios Hollywood opened the long-anticipated Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift roller coaster, and fans have begun FLOCKING to the park. Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift The ride soft opened a few days ago, even though it’s not set to officially open until 2027. The attraction has sparked noise complaints from residents who live and work around the park, but now that the ride is open for guests to experience, how are people really feeling about the new coaster? You may be surprised! The new coaster is located on the Upper Lot of Universal Studios Hollywood, and let’s just say, while it’s only been open a few days, it’s clear this ride is going to be POPULAR, and stay that way for quite some time. When we arrived at the park, there wasn’t an official wait time posted, as there was a “Technical Rehearsal” sign up instead, but Team Members we spoke to said the line was around 3 hours. Technical Rehearsal sign A technical rehearsal means that some elements of the ride may not be working yet, and the ride can close at any time. We do know that currently, there’s no music in each of the cars, except for the sounds the ride itself has, though it’s not clear if that’s because the sound just isn’t working yet, or if the cars won’t have music at all. We’re really crossing our fingers they will, as we feel that would add a lot to the experience, but it’s not looking likely. Get ready for launch! We’ve heard so many people say that this ride is like if Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in Disney World and VelociCoaster in Universal Islands of Adventure had a baby. It’s got incredible views, has powerful launches, and is overall extremely smooth. It certainly looks intense — perhaps not as much as VelociCoaster, but a step down, like if the Hulk ride was smoother. People are really loving this ride! While we didn’t think the ride itself is very loud, the screams from guests do echo, and we can imagine how they begin to get warped as they travel throughout the valley, hence resulting in some of the noise complaints that Universal has been dealing with. This ride is pretty short, sitting between 1 and 1.5 minutes, but people don’t seem to be bothered by that. Look at them go! Express and Single Rider are available for this attraction, and both were available on our visit, despite the ride not officially being open. It’s also important to note that you will go through a metal detector before riding, and you’ll need to place the majority of your belongings into lockers, similar to VelociCoaster. Metal Detector If you’ve got plans to come in and ride the attraction before it’s officially open, we recommend packing lots of patience and remembering that it is still possible for the ride to go down often, as it’s still in that technical rehearsal, and likely will be for a while. This ride is also currently on its way to Universal Studios Orlando, and we’ll be keeping a very close eye on construction as it continues, so stay tuned to DFB! We’re in Disney World every day, and that means we have a pretty good eye when it comes to changes. World of Disney Some changes are pretty big, like new construction walls going up around various projects, but then there are other changes, like this one, that we almost miss. While we were walking around Disney Springs yesterday, we noticed something missing from World of Disney and we’ll be honest — we’re kinda hoping it’s part of a new game. World of Disney is known for being THE spot for Disney merchandise in Disney Springs. It’s not guaranteed you’ll find everything there, but if you’re looking for one of the largest selections of Disney merchandise and the best chance to snag the items you’re looking for, this is the store to go to. World of Disney You’ve got an entire wall of plushes to look at, rows upon rows of apparel, as well as numerous displays for home decor, accessories, and so much more. We could spend hours in here looking at everything if we really wanted to, and every week, we feel like we’d find something new! World of Disney While walking by outside yesterday, though, we noticed something strange — there was something big missing from the main entrance sign. Can you spot it? Stitch is gone! The giant Stitch that usually sits right above the World of Disney sign is gone! He was there one day, and gone the next, with no word from Disney on what happened. We’re assuming he just needed a little work and that he’ll be back soon, but there’s a part of us that thinks it would be fun to begin to hide him in different spots around Disney Springs. Maybe Stitch just wanted to take a little journey! We can’t blame him! World of Disney Looking for more recent Disney Springs news? Check out our posts below! More Recent Disney Springs News! Uh-Oh. Construction is ALL over Disney World right now, and right when we think things will calm down, another project gets added to the list. Turf Club Bar & Grill eats We’ll admit that we’ve known about this upcoming refurbishment for quite some time now, and while it’s thankfully shorter than others, it’s still something to note and keep in mind if you’re visiting in August or September. Over at Saratoga Springs Resort, this popular restaurant will be CLOSED beginning at the end of August. It’s important to note that this restaurant is usually closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, so keep that in mind even after this refurbishment is complete, but according to the current Disney World calendar, beginning Monday, August 31st and continuing through at least September 29th (as far as the Disney World calendar goes at the time of writing), the restaurant will be closed for refurbishment. Let’s go to the Turf Club! According to the Disney World website, the restaurant will be closed through late September, but it’s also possible the refurbishment could last longer than anticipated. On the other hand, we’ve also seen some construction projects finish early, with restaurants opening back up earlier than anticipated, so we’ll be crossing our fingers that’s the case here! Turf Club Bar & Grill During the closure, The Turf Club Lounge will remain open, though it’s currently closed for refurbishment. This spot is expected to reopen in late August, likely right before, or just as the restaurant closes for its refurbishment. Turf Club Lounge Looking for more recent Disney World hotel news? Hurricane season in Florida runs from June 1st to November 30th, which means it’s likely you’ll be visiting Disney World during the season. This can mean lots of heavy storms, and if you’re not prepared, your entire trip can be ruined. Frogg Toggs Poncho We’re in the parks every single day, and that means we’re seeing all different sorts of weather, including those massive storms that can throw you for a loop. One thing we always have in our backpacks is our handy dandy rain poncho, and it can totally save your Disney World trip. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Say hello to the Frogg Togg Rain Poncho! FROGG TOGGS Poncho This thing seriously gets the job done. One of the best features is that it’s breathable, which is super important when you’re dealing with the Florida heat. It also folds up so you can easily tuck it into your backpack when you’re not usin git and then pull it out when that impending afternoon rain shower comes in. It’s reusable too, since you’ll probably deal with more than one rain storm during your trip. Frogg Toggs Poncho We know it’s tempting to grab those cheap ponchos from the gift shop during your trip, but trust us, you don’t want them. Not only will you have to find a gift shop selling them when the storm hits, but these also aren’t meant to be used more than once, and you might find that it rips pretty easily. They also cost $12 for adults and $10 for kids, and these things will STICK to you. If you think the humidity is bad in Florida, it’s going to feel worse when you put this on. Grab it here! In the meantime, make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for all the tips and tricks you need to know to have the best Disney World vacation yet. We’re always testing new products along with strategies and dropping them all here at DFB. View the full article

We’ve got a team full of Disney World Annual Passholders with YEARS of experience packing park bags! Annual Pass We go to the parks pretty much every day of the year, and that means we’ve packed park bags thousands of times at this point. So, today, we’re sharing the list of what we bring to the parks as Annual Passholders, so you can pack like a pro, too! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Get the ultimate must-have for pin traders! PinFolio Go Pin Display Bag Starting out our list, we have a niche item that’s a must for those who like to pin trade in the parks. The PinFolio Go Pin Display Bag keeps your pins secure and easy-to-see so that you can whip them out and trade with Cast Members and other guests. It holds up to 40 one-inch pins and folds nicely and compact for easy storage. view ON AMAZON This is our #1 portable fan! Mini Fan! Okay, I’m going to personally go to bat for this item! The JISULIFE Handheld Mini Fan has been a lifesaver for me in the parks on hot days, and I’ve found it to be so useful that I even keep it in my bag year-round. It’s the perfect handheld size, it has three speeds, and the battery life lasts for AGES. Plus, you can fold back the handle to prop it up on a table and go hands-free. It comes with a built-in flashlight and charges with a USB-C cord. It’s definitely a must-have! view ON AMAZON You know we love FuelRods! FuelRod MAX10 We’re big FuelRod users here at DFB, and if you’re looking for maximum power and charge, then you need the FuelRod MAX10. These high-capacity chargers come with multiple cords to fit different phones or can be used for wireless charging. They’re pretty pricey in the parks, but you can often get them a bit cheaper on Amazon. Plus, you can swap them out for fully charged versions at the in-park kiosks and resort kiosks for FREE! view ON AMAZON Don’t forget our go-to anti-chafe product! ©Amazon If you find yourself struggling with chafing in Disney World, you are NOT alone. With all of that sweat and humidity, things can get uncomfortable rather quickly. Our go-to is the MegaBabe Thigh Rescue anti-friction stick. Just roll this on (kind of like deodorant) between your thighs or wherever you might chafe, and it’ll keep your skin from rubbing. It’s seriously so helpful! view ON AMAZON And finally, to keep the funk away! ©Amazon The final item our team agreed was well worth packing is these Carpe Underarm Deodorant Wipes! Just like we said, the humidity and heat are brutal in the parks, and when you’re walking around all day, it’s easy to get a little…funky. No need to worry about your stick deodorant melting in your bag with these individually packaged wipes! Just reapply midday to feel fresh, and you’ll be good to keep on going! view ON AMAZON We’re always on the hunt for the latest and greatest Disney souvenirs and essentials, so don’t forget to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for more! Planning a visit to Dollywood might seem intimidating if you’ve never been before, but we’re here to help you out! Welcome to Dollywood! We made the BIG trip to Dollywood earlier this year, and we had a BLAST! Between the thrilling rides, incredible food, and fun vibes, there’s a lot to do across this property! So, here’s a full 2-day plan for you to tackle a Dollywood trip. Where to Stay Let’s start things out with the accommodations! If you want to be immersed in the atmosphere of Dollywood during your visit, there are three options for places where you might want to stay. First is Dollywood’s HeartSong Lodge & Resort. This hotel definitely offers that cozy mountain lodge vibe, with well-appointed rooms and suites. It’s home to both indoor and outdoor pools, six dining locations, and over 300 rooms. HeartSong Lodge & Resort Room The other main hotel on the property is Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort and Spa. This has been voted a top ten theme park hotel by USA Today and, like its sister resort, has indoor and outdoor pools and six dining locations. DreamMore also has an on-site spa, and its theme is a bit more Dolly Parton-forward than HeartSong — think butterflies and country music. There are both rooms and suites here, and you can even book a stay in the Dolly Parton Suite on the top floor or the Dolly Suite 1986, which is Dolly’s personalized motorcoach! DreamMore Resort & Spa If you stay at either HeartSong or DreamMore, you’ll get complimentary trolley service to and from the Dollywood parks, Wi-Fi, and self-parking — those are some serious perks! Also, you can enjoy daily stayover service, where your room is refreshed with tidying, new towels, and restocked essentials. DreamMore Resort If you’re staying at those two hotels and have park tickets, there are even MORE perks available. The Dollywood Resort Timesaver is included each day and allows you five expedited entries at participating attractions. You can also enjoy Golden Hour for the first hour of the day, where resort guests get expedited entry to any of the available rides without having to use their five Timesavers. Timesaver H2O is also complimentary for use at Dollywood’s water park, Splash Country (it allows two Timesaver entries per day). On top of those perks, there’s an exclusive resort trolley to Dollywood and Splash Country, as well as complimentary preferred parking at the parks. And don’t forget about complimentary package delivery to your room for purchases over $25! Dollywood tickets But if you’re traveling with a larger group or simply want more space, you may want to check out Bear Cove Cabins, the preferred Pigeon Forge cabin rental company for Dollywood. They partner with Dollywood Resort to offer some perks like priority access and free parking at the parks, as well as occasional ticket discounts. Folks staying at these cabins also get access to Golden Hour each day. ©Bear Cove Cabins What to Ride Okay, now that you’ve booked your hotel, it’s time to start thinking about what you’ll want to ride in Dollywood! This park has some serious thrills, and with its opening day being August 19th, Nightflight Expedition will be the BIG draw. It’s going to be the world’s first indoor family hybrid coaster and whitewater raft ride. Cool, right?! ©Dollywood But as for things that are already open, there are some heavy hitters in the coaster realm. For those who want top speeds, Lightning Rod is a solid choice! This ’50s-themed wooden coaster never slows down and offers some gorgeous views across the park. But for a ride that’s a bit more unique with an eerie and quirky vibe, go for Mystery Mine. It’s the park’s most detailed coaster with an original soundtrack. Lightning Rod Those who like a smooth coaster experience will probably enjoy Big Bear Mountain in Wildwood Grove. It reminded us of a more intense version of Slinky Dog Dash in Disney World. Other highlights include Wild Eagle, which was the first winged coaster in the U.S., and Blazin’ Fury, which has some serious thrills. Big Bear Mountain Of course, there are plenty of non-coaster must-dos as well. The Dollywood Express Train is a classic and offers some scenic views of the park. And the Rockin’ Roadway lets you take the wheel of a retro car. There’s also Black Bear Trail, which we think your kids would LOVE since you can hop on the back of a bear! Riding Rockin’ Roadway This park also offers a variety of classic theme park rides — a carousel, a flying elephant ride, swings, a scrambler, and several play areas for littles. What to Watch If you’re into live entertainment, there are a plethora of options in Dollywood! Throughout the year, some entertainment options will change seasonally, like nighttime fireworks shows and dance parties — make sure to check the calendar to see what’s available during your visit. But there are a few things you’ll want to see year-round, like the stunning Wings of America Birds of Prey show! If you’re a fan of live bird shows, this is one of the best, showcasing some incredible birds, including a bald eagle. ©Dollywood For another animal-forward show, check out Perondi’s Stunt Dog Experience, and your little ones would probably enjoy a visit to the Imagination Playhouse to watch live performances of children’s books. The whole family will be entranced by the Gazillion Bubble Show, complete with bubble artistry and interactive elements. ©Dollywood Of course, perhaps the most classic form of entertainment at Dollywood is the bands! There are several multi-person groups that perform around the park, singing country music or gospel tunes. Make sure to stop by and check them out when you see them or look at the showtimes if there’s a particular group you’re interested in. What to Do But outside of the rides and shows, there are some other big things you might want to plan time to do during your visit to Dollywood. For starters, you could fill one of the two days of your trip by visiting Dollywood’s water park, Splash Country. This outdoor water park is complete with tall slides, splash zones, and massive pools — fun for the whole family. Just make sure it’s open during your visit, since it has seasonal hours. ©Dollywood Of course, you can’t go on vacation without getting at least one souvenir, and Dollywood has some seriously unique ones, including a few that you can make yourself! The Valley Forge Blacksmith is a space where visitors can create their own knives from items like railroad spikes and horseshoes! Or you could head over to the Smoky Creek Leather shop to get a custom belt with custom names or sayings engraved. Custom candles, hand wax models, and glass-blown ornaments are also on the DIY list. Just check the Dollywood website to see how to make reservations for each experience, and to see how much time you should budget. ©Dollywood Throughout the year, Dollywood hosts several different festivals and celebrations. From the Flower & Food Festival in the spring to the Smoky Mountain Christmas offerings during the holiday season, there’s almost always something to celebrate in this park. Check the calendar to see what events are taking place during your trip and set aside time to explore food booths, watch exclusive entertainment, or take in the atmosphere. Flower & Food Festival Of course, you can’t visit Dollywood without learning a bit about Dolly Parton herself! The Dolly Parton Experience is a museum walkthrough that tells the story of Dolly’s life and career. You can see costumes and props from her journey, watch a short film, and even spot her tour bus outside. The Dolly Parton Experience And remember when we mentioned the bird show that you can see? You’ll also want to visit the Eagle Mountain Sanctuary during your visit to see how these birds are cared for and how their habitats are curated. What to Eat Finally, let’s chat about one of our favorite things…FOOD! Dining is a huge part of any Dollywood trip, and the eats here are shockingly delectable. To start, you know we just have to mention Dollywood’s famous cinnamon bread. This stuff is warm, freshly baked, and slightly gooey in the best way. You’ll find this at several places on property, but most famously at Grist Mill in Craftsman’s Valley. For an extra $1.59 each, you can get a cup of icing OR apple butter to go along with it. (And we would encourage you to get BOTH!) Dollywood Cinnamon Bread Another famous Dollywood treat is the 25-lb apple pie at Spotlight Bakery. Just one slice of this pie will cost you about $30, but it will feed three to four people. It’s a hefty slice! Or, if you’re feeling extra hungry and have a whole crew with you, you can purchase the whole pie for $230. Flaky crust and loads of apple filling? It’s a dream come true. It took TWO hands to hold! Dollywood’s all about the sweets, and one of the treats you’ll spot continuously around the park is Dippin’ Dots. You may be familiar with this novelty ice cream treat from ballparks or amusement parks, but here, there are some exclusive flavors to Dollywood. The Big Bear Brownie Batter flavor is a must for chocolate lovers, but there are also often seasonal flavors for the festivals or holidays. And if you’re Dippin’ Dots obsessed, you can get refillable souvenir cups to eat them to your heart’s content! Big Bear Brownie Batter That’s not all! You can also get specialty-topped funnel cakes from Crossroads Funnel Cakes and/or Splinter’s Trailside Snacks. They offer toppings like strawberry pie filling, apple pie filling, hot fudge, whipped cream, and crumbled Oreos. YUM! We were also big fans of the Bear Head Ice Cream — soft serve served inside of a cone shaped like a bear’s head, available at a few different spots around Dollywood. Those bear head cones aren’t like a traditional crunchy waffle cone. Instead, they’re fairly soft (and a little chewy). Bear Ice Cream Cone Of course, we have to mention one of the park’s table-service staples, as well. The family-style Aunt Granny’s Restaurant in Rivertown Junction is a favorite spot for many, where you can try some southern classics. This restaurant is first-come, first-serve, so you’ll want to get here early in the day if it’s on your must-do list, but it’s well-known for the fried chicken. The chicken comes out HOT and FRESH, making it crispy (but not greasy), juicy (but not grisly), and very sharable. ©Dollywood That’s a wrap on our two-day plan — use this guide to have the best-ever trip to Dollywood! Don’t finalize your Disney World park plans just yet! Magic Kingdom at night during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Even though it might not feel like the typical cool, crisp fall weather in Florida, believe it or not, Halloween season officially begins in August in Disney World. The start of spooky season also means the kickoff of one of Disney World’s most popular special events, which could have a major impact on how you plan your park days for the next few months! Be Prepared for Shorter Magic Kingdom Park Hours! The popular seasonal event, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will return to Magic Kingdom on select nights from August 7th through October 31st, 2026. The party is a separately ticketed event with lots of holiday fun like trick-or-treating, exclusive entertainment, character meet-and-greets, and more! Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular On the nights it takes place, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party officially begins at 7 PM, and since it’s not included with a regular park ticket, Magic Kingdom will close at 6 PM for non-party guests on those evenings. Mad Tea Party at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Since Magic Kingdom is often open until around 10 PM or 11 PM (park hours vary by date), that means regular day guests will have several hours LESS time to spend in the park on days when a party is scheduled! Prepare for the Change in Hours Accordingly Again, keep in mind that Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween party doesn’t happen every day, but there are a few parties each week beginning with the first one on August 7th, so it’s definitely important to check the list of party dates before making your plans. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Since the park closes early on party dates, you might want to avoid Magic Kingdom on those days if you have single park tickets. Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor Halloween Overlay On the other hand, in previous years, we’ve noticed that Magic Kingdom tends to be less crowded on Halloween party days, with lots of people planning to visit other parks because of the reduced hours, so it can actually be a good hack to visit Magic Kingdom on those days, especially if you have park hopper tickets! How Should Your Evening Plans Change? Now that we’ve covered the basics, let’s go over the different strategies you might want to use, depending on what type of ticket you have and how you prefer to spend your days. For guests with single park tickets, you might want to choose a different park on party dates, since you’ll have way less time with Magic Kingdom closing several hours earlier. This is especially true if you’re more of a night owl and don’t typically get to the park until late morning or early afternoon. The Mummy Treat from Not So Scary in 2025 On the other hand, guests with single park tickets might still want to visit Magic Kingdom on party days in the hopes of experiencing the light crowds that we often see ahead of the party. Even though your day at the park will end on the earlier side, you could still spend the evening exploring Disney Springs, enjoying the amenities at your hotel, or just make it an early night to catch up on some rest! Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! Now, for guests with park hopper tickets, you might actually want to plan on starting your day at Magic Kingdom if there’s a party scheduled that night, so you can take advantage of the typically lighter crowds. They aren’t guaranteed, of course, but if you have a park hopper ticket anyway, it could be worth a shot! Mother Gothel After Magic Kingdom closes (or you’ve just had your fill for the day), you could park hop to EPCOT fairly easily on the Monorail and still have a few more hours of park time for the night. Or, Disney’s Hollywood Studios is another solid choice to hop to after Magic Kingdom, since both it and EPCOT tend to stay open a bit later than Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Haunted Mansion fans, you know the drill: the second you spot a piece of merch tied to the Grim Grinning Ghosts, all rational spending decisions go out the window. ©Disney Between the ever-rotating lineup of MagicBands, mugs, spirit jerseys, and popcorn buckets, this fan base can find just about anything related to Haunted Mansion. And today, we found the item that might finally break us into spending more money. We’re talking about the Werecat Lady Limited Edition Doll, and if you’ve wandered through Memento Mori in Magic Kingdom lately, you may have already locked eyes with her. ©Disney Who Is the Werecat Lady? For those who haven’t memorized every inch of the Haunted Mansion’s portrait hallway (no judgment, we’re all learning), the Werecat Lady is one of the attraction’s most iconic stretching-room portraits. At first glance, she’s poised and elegant — but as the lightning flashes, her true, tigress-like nature reveals itself. It’s peak Haunted Mansion energy: gorgeous, a little unsettling, and impossible to look away from. Haunted Mansion This 17-inch collectible doll brings her straight off the wall and into three dimensions, posed exactly as she appears in her portrait — reclining on a rose brocade divan, mid-transformation between demure and downright feral. ©Disney The Doll Itself This isn’t just a doll in a box — it’s a full display piece. The Werecat Lady comes dressed in a fitted satin gown with sheer mesh sleeves and skirt insets, plus sequins, gems, and embroidered trim throughout. She’s accessorized with simulated leather gauntlets and a choker, a jeweled pendant necklace, and tiger-striped stockings. Her hair is styled with black fabric rosettes and beaded tassels, and she even holds a red fabric rose nosegay, because apparently werecats have excellent taste in florals. ©Disney She’s fully poseable, comes with her own display stand, and — this is the part that really sells it — she arrives in a deluxe window display box designed to look like an actual painting. The front cover has a “hidden” image of the Werecat Lady that only reveals itself under changing light, mimicking the exact stretching-room effect from the ride. There are even holes in the back so you can hang the whole box like a piece of art in your home. ©Disney As a limited edition of just 5,150 pieces worldwide, each doll includes a Certificate of Verification, making this less of a toy and more of a genuine collector’s item for the Haunted Mansion die-hards. ©Disney Where to Find Her You can currently find the Werecat Lady doll in person at Memento Mori in Magic Kingdom. She’s also sold on DisneyStore.com, though as of now, she’s listed as sold out online — so if you spot her in the parks, this might be your best shot at bringing her home. So, are we impulse buying this one? Given the limited edition count, the jaw-dropping detail, and the fact that she basically is a piece of the ride, we wouldn’t blame you for saying yes. There are LOTS of new things in Disney World these days. Let’s dive in! The theme parks are changing, hotels are under construction, and Disney is giving us tons of new treats to enjoy, so we might not notice all of those mountains of dirt around us. Honestly, we aren’t complaining in the slightest because two NEW croissants just dropped in Disney Springs. Are they just pretty, or do they taste good, too? Amorette’s Patisserie is a Disney Springs staple for our team. This spot has to-die-for pastries, iconic mini cakes, tasty desserts, and more! Trust us, when we’re in Disney Springs, this is a must-stop for us. Welcome to Amorette’s! During our latest stop by, we spotted two brand new croissants that we knew we just had to try! The first was the Cookie Croissant for $8.75. The Cookie Croissant! This was everything we had hoped it would be. It had several layers, and the pastry was slightly chewy and flaky. The center was a cross between cookie dough and a fully baked cookie that has a very distinct flavor. It crumbled like a cookie around the edges, so it was the perfect addition in our eyes. The main flavor reminded us of a classic, almost purist chocolate chip cookie. It’s so gorgeous Thanks to that traditional, yet comforting flavor, we think this will be perfect for kids and adults alike. There’s enough semi-sweet chocolate in the cookie to keep this from being too sweet or flavorless. The amount of pastry balances well with the chocolate to prevent it from becoming too rich. This is sweet enough that we think some guests might want to split it with someone else, but for us it was just right. A look at the inside! We also tried the S’mores Croissant for $8.75. This croissant was surprisingly dense in texture, but it still has those classic croissant flavors. The filling was a rich, thick dark chocolate ganache, which will be a big hit for chocolate fans. That being said, if you’re looking for a classic s’mores experience, you’ll miss a layer of marshmallow in the middle. The S’mores Croissant The graham cracker crumbles on the exterior do melt into the chocolate on the top, so the flavor gets lots in there. The chocolate layer on the outside is prominent and takes over the other details in the croissant. If you’re a chocolate lover or want to try something wonderfully rich, this is for you. If you’re a s’mores fan, you might be a bit disappointed by this one. No matter who you are, if you try this one, grab lots of napkins and be prepared to cut through some thicker layers of the croissant. A look at the tear! Both of these sweet treats were more than just a pretty face, but one of them wasn’t exactly what we expected. There are so many different treats to try around Disney World, but it’s a comfort to know that Amorette’s can stay on our staple list.
