Who doesn’t love a good meal at Disney World?! There are tons of great options to eat at, but that sometimes means running into the problem of being unable to decide where to go. Fairfax Fare There are a lot of restaurants to sit-down at in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but don’t sleep on some of the quick-service locations. We recently checked out Fairfax Fare, and we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is it worth a stop on your next trip? Let’s find out! Atmosphere This dining spot is a counter-service location. Mobile Order is available here, but if you eat earlier in the lunch hour (like 11 AM when they switch to lunch), you may not wait in line at all. The tough thing about this spot is that seats can be very hard to come by. There are lots of families who like to eat here and at the other counter services that are in the immediate area. Fairfax Fare It’s also a popular spot to chill for families looking for shade, as the dining spot is also right beside two big attractions — Tower of Terror and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets. If you have multiple people in your party, have someone stake out a table while you pick up your food. But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu You can come to the dining spot for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. During breakfast time, you can get those delicious Mickey waffles. As for lunch and dinner, they offer a few protein bowl options, as well as a plant-based bowl. Let’s look at the menu! And now, onto the main event — the food! Eats The first thing we ate was the Korean BBQ Pork Belly Bowl for $16.29. This has huge pieces of pork belly that are really well cooked and really well laminated with barbecue sauce. They are sweet, tangy, and delicious. The best bites here are bites with the red pepper and the slaw on top. We do wish that instead of the mashed potatoes on the bottom, they would’ve served this on a bed of soba noodles, because it just would’ve made a little bit more sense to pair those two dishes together. Korean BBQ Pork Belly Bowl That being said, the mashed potatoes are super creamy and hearty, and everything you want from mashed potatoes. They really do soak up some of that Korean barbecue sauce, which makes for really nice, sweet, balanced bites with the thick mashed potatoes and the pork belly. We really enjoyed this dish! This is delicious! It really does need the slaw on top because it is really heavy between the pork and the mashed potatoes, so do make sure to take small bites of the slaw at first so that you have enough to eat with the mashed potatoes and the pork. Otherwise, this gets very rich very quickly. Overall, this is an absolutely delicious dish that we would order again. Maybe even with the side of the soba noodles. Korean BBQ Pork Belly Bowl Then we had the BBQ Beef Brisket Bowl for $16.29. We found this one was a little difficult to eat. The Fritos that are put on top of the mashed potatoes make it hard to get a full bite with everything in it. For spice-averse people, we would recommend steering clear of this dish. The pickled jalapeños pack a punch and cover the entire dish, and it can burn out your tongue, especially if you’re a medium heat or below kind of person. BBQ Beef Brisket Bowl The brisket is thin; it is a little bit stringy and a little bit fatty. We would go with the pork belly bowl over this in a heartbeat. The best bites here are bites where you break apart the bowl and get to the mashed potatoes and get a little beef and a little bit of the salsa, which does include the pickled jalapeños on top. The corn chips add a nice crunch, and they’re just fine. We just aren’t sure this is measuring up to the other dishes that are offered at this location. This wasn’t our favorite! After that, we had the Buffalo Chicken Bowl for $14.99. We really enjoyed this! The chicken tenders are perfectly cooked and dipped in a good medium buffalo sauce. They are breaded, but we think it works really well with this dish. The mashed potatoes are nice and rich underneath, and the slaw on top with a little bit of bleu cheese really gives you the full experience of having some buffalo wings with mashed potatoes. Buffalo Chicken Bowl Now, because the mashed potatoes are included here, this is a very hearty dish. If you’re a medium-hot kind of spice person, this is going to be perfect for you. We think that a lot of people might just eat a lot of the chicken with maybe some of the potatoes because it is such a hearty dish. If you’re looking for a dish where you don’t want to eat for the rest of the day, because you’re so busy enjoying all the rides, this and the barbecued pork are your best bets. You should try this! Lastly, we had the Plant-Based Soba Noodle Salad Bowl for $14.49. This dish is so light and fresh and SO delicious! The soba noodles are very well cooked. We enjoyed the cabbage, which added a crunch throughout. The sesame seeds add a very nice umami flavor. Plant-Based Soba Noodle Salad Bowl We understand why somebody would add the vegan chicken to this dish, as it doesn’t seem to have a lot of protein on its own. However, we think this is absolutely delicious. As meat eaters, we would order this with one of the meat bowls to split with a friend because it is a perfect side dish for some of the richer meats. This is delicious! So, should Fairfax Fare be on your list? Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… You’re looking for a delicious protein bowl, with good base options! You’re looking for something quick and easy, so you can continue to maximize your Disney days! You don’t want to wait long for food! You should skip this Disney World spot if… You’re looking for somewhere to sit down and eat, especially because finding tables here is so hard sometimes. You want a menu with more options! Overall Overall, these bowls are a great option for a full meal on the go when you’re running around Hollywood Studios. The only one we would say that we would not recommend is the barbecue brisket, which is unfortunate because it is the newest version of a bowl offered here. However, the remainder of the bowls are great options, and we would recommend them. Here’s everything we got! In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond. Make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news and more! It’s almost impossible to keep up with all the changes happening in Disney World right now. Three of Disney World’s four parks are under construction, with new lands, new rides, and more coming soon. Hotels are busy with refurbishments and more. Promenade Fine Art Gallery We’ve also seen several stores closing throughout the resort, including Promenade Fine Art Gallery, which was located on Disney’s BoardWalk. Well, that store will be reopening again soon near Disney World, and we’ve got all the details. Promenade Fine Art Gallery was a part of Disney’s BoardWalk for years, but the gallery closed in October 2025. Now, over a year later, we’ve learned that the gallery will be moving to Celebration and will be opening there in December. Promenade Fine Art Gallery The gallery is also getting a new name: Imagination Fine Art Gallery. You’ll be able to visit it at 605 Market Street in downtown Celebration. The gallery is now owned by Gallery Director Joshua Segal and his partner Alex “Lex” Tiffin. The gallery plans to continue to work with Disney Fine Art and showcase the same artists you might see during the EPCOT Festival of the Arts. That means you’ll be able to visit the gallery and shop for all your favorite Disney art again, just in a new location. ©Imagination Fine Art Gallery However, if you haven’t visited the Boardwalk lately, you might want to pop over and check it out. Hurly-Burly has officially opened where Jellyrolls used to be, and well, the food and drinks really surprised us when we checked it out. During the day, it’s a family-friendly spot, and at night, it’s adults-only with live entertainment, and we’re digging the vibe. Hurly Burly spread Meanwhile, Basin at the Boardwalk, complete with a 1920s apothecary theme, is taking over the space that was once occupied by Promenade Fine Art Gallery. There, you’ll be able to blend your own bath tea, make a bar of soap from scratch, or emboss soap with a personal touch. Disney hasn’t revealed an opening date yet, but we’ll be keeping an eye out for it. ©Disney A quick service restaurant will also be coming to the BoardWalk soon, but Disney has not revealed many details about it. We’ll keep an eye out for more changes in Disney World, so stay tuned to DFB for more. Will the BoardWalk at Disney World Solve This Major Food Problem? A lot has closed in Disney World, and it’s hard to keep track of all of it. Here’s the latest on all the closures at the resort. December is one of the busiest months in Disney World, and that means you might want to find room in the budget for Lightning Lanes! Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway Lightning Lane If park attendance is poppin’, lines for rides are likely going to be long, and paying extra for Lightning Lanes could be worth it to skip those waits. But how much will Lightning Lanes cost in December? Prices aren’t out yet, but we’re using past data to predict how much you’ll spend. Lightning Lane Multi Pass Starting out with Lightning Lane Multi Pass, this is the system that allows you to skip the lines for most of the rides in the park. You can purchase Multi Pass seven days ahead of your trip if you’re staying on Disney property and three days ahead of your park visit if you’re not. When you book, you can make three attraction selections, then as you use each one on the day of your visit, you can rebook another. You’re only able to use Multi Pass once for each attraction, and some of the parks’ most popular rides aren’t included (more on that in the Single Pass section below). Kilimanjaro Safaris Lightning Lane To try and predict December 2026 prices, we’ll look back at prices for the same month in 2025 and 2024. When we looked back at that calendar period, prices were predictably higher in the days surrounding the major holidays. From December 24th- 31st, it was pricey, with the most expensive days being Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve. NOTE: You can likely expect New Year’s Day to be expensive as well, though that’s not included in our analysis because it’s January. Entrances for Stand-by and Lightning Lane Starting out at Magic Kingdom, the prices for Multi Pass ranged between $29-$45 per person, per day for December 2025 and $29-$39 in December 2024. Based on the slow rise of prices and the fact that $45 has kind of been the unofficial cap for Lightning Lane Multi Pass this year, we’re going to suggest you budget $32-$45 a person for Magic Kingdom in December 2026. Now, the important thing you need to keep in mind about this park is that prices vary WILDLY depending on whether or not it’s a “party day.” On days that Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party takes place, the park closes early at 6 PM, and Lightning Lanes are much cheaper. Pluto enjoying a flight on Dumbo The Flying Elephant In EPCOT, the 2025 prices for December fell between $21 and $37 per person, per day. In December 2024, that range was $21-$32. Here, if you’re visiting in December 2026, you should probably budget between $23-$38 per person. EPCOT Christmas Tree in 2024 Over at Hollywood Studios, guests were paying between $24 and $39 for Multi Pass in December 2025. The year before that, it was between $24 and $35 per person. For December 2026, we suggest budgeting about $25-$40 per person. While this park hosts Jollywood Nights on select nights in December, the Lightning Lane prices are not quite as affected as they are in Magic Kingdom. It’s Christmas time in Hollywood Studios! And at Animal Kingdom, the December 2025 cost for Multi Pass was $17-$35 per person, per day. In December 2024, it ranged from $16 to $29. Now, this park has had a few attractions close in recent months and years (to make way for new projects), so we’re going to keep the recommended Lightning Lane budget the same as last year. Budget $17-$35 per person, and you’ll probably be okay. Animal Kingdom Keep in mind that these budgets do not include tax, which you’ll have to pay on all Lightning Lane purchases. They’re also per-person budgets, so multiply the cost by the number of people with park tickets in your party. See a Breakdown of Lightning Lane Multi Pass Here! Lightning Lane Single Pass Now, onto Lightning Lane Single Pass! This service allows you to skip the lines at the most popular rides in each park by paying for a single-use Lightning Lane for a particular ride. You can book up to two of these a day, and booking opens on the same days as Multi Pass selections do (seven days in advance for on-site guests and three days in advance for off-site guests). Lightning Lane Single Pass is available at the following rides: Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in Magic Kingdom TRON Lightcycle / Run in Magic Kingdom Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance in Hollywood Studios Avatar Flight of Passage in Animal Kingdom Rise of the Resistance For Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in Magic Kingdom, the December 2025 cost was $13-$15 per person, while the December 2024 cost was $13-$14. Looking at December 2026, we recommend budgeting about $13-$16 per person if you want to do this ride. The ride sign was decorated for the holidays last year! TRON Lightcycle / Run’s Lightning Lane ranged from $21-$23 in December 2025 and from $21-$22 in December 2024. This ride has remained popular, so you’ll likely want to budget $22-$24 per person to get the Single Pass in December 2026. TRON Lightcycle / Run In December 2025, you could use the Lightning Lane at Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind for $20-$22 per person, and in December 2024, it was slightly lower, at $18-$19. For December 2026, we’re going to recommend a budget of $21-$23. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind The Single Pass for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance ranged from $22-$25 in December 2025 and, oddly enough, was the exact same price range the year before in December 2024. We’ve noticed a slow decline in the average wait times for this ride, so we’ll stick with the same budget for December 2026. Set aside $22-$25 per person. Rise of the Resistance Lightning Lane Finally, we have the Lightning Lane for Avatar Flight of Passage at Animal Kingdom. In December 2025, the per person price for this ride was $17-$19. The year prior, it was $16-$18 in December. Similarly, we suggest budgeting $17-$20 per person in December 2026. Flight of Passage Scenery These budgets are mostly an estimate based on past trends and how prices have looked this year, so take them with a grain of salt. Don’t forget to set aside extra money to pay for tax, and remember that kids under the age of three don’t need Lightning Lanes since they don’t require park tickets at that age. Main Street, U.S.A. at rope drop We’ll be sharing the updated Lightning Lane prices with you as they’re released, so stay tuned to DFB. Okay, Disney World fans, deep breath. We need to talk about Lightning Lane Premier Pass. Disney just set a new record price for the most expensive line-skipping option at Disney World. Winnie the Pooh Lightning Lane Over Thanksgiving week, Lightning Lane Premier Pass at Magic Kingdom has officially hit its highest price yet at nearly $500 per person. Here’s the thing, though: the high prices haven’t stopped people from buying it. Magic Kingdom Premier Pass has already sold out on multiple dates this week, so if you were hoping to grab one last minute, you may be out of luck. And with Thanksgiving week coming up (a.k.a. one of the busiest times of the entire year), we wouldn’t be surprised to see more dates disappear. Magic Kingdom’s Lightning Lane Premier Pass option is currently sold out from November 2nd through November 6th, which means that plenty of people are willing to spend $429 per person on Disney World’s newest skip-the-line option — and that’s on top of what they’re already paying to get into the park. Haunted Mansion Lightning Lane Premier Pass is still available at EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom on those dates, but it’s not necessarily cheap there, either: EPCOT: $229 to $249 Hollywood Studios: $329 to $349 Animal Kingdom: $159 to $179 Mad Tea Party Lightning Lane AND Standby Lane Not only that, but Premier Pass will officially hit its record-high price on November 23rd, when the Magic Kingdom option will cost $479 — nearly $500 per person. That date marks the beginning of Thanksgiving week, which is known for being one of the busiest weeks at Disney World all year, so this high price isn’t all that shocking. What is shocking is that people are willing to pay it. The rest of the pricing for that week hasn’t been released as of the time of writing, but we anticipate that it will be just as high, and potentially even higher. Peter Pan’s Flight Lightning Lane Thanksgiving week 2025 prices didn’t quite reach as high, with Premier Pass costing up to $429 for certain days at Magic Kingdom: Magic Kingdom: $399 to $429 EPCOT: $229 to $239 Hollywood Studios: $319 to $339 Animal Kingdom: $179 to $189 It’s possible Thanksgiving Day will be even higher than the record $479, but we’ll have to wait and see. Disney’s newest stars aren’t coming from Hollywood. They’re coming straight from YouTube. ©Disney Since June, Disney has signed Gracie’s Corner, Dhar Mann, Like Nastya, and, just this month, Dude Perfect, the trick-shot crew that once raced through all 12 Disney parks around the world in under 75 hours. One deal is a fun headline. Four major deals in four months is a game plan. So what is Disney really after? Let’s break it down. Recent Creator Deals Before we get into the why, here’s a quick look at who Disney has brought on board this year. It started in June with Gracie’s Corner, the educational music channel with nearly 10 billion views, which brought more than 120 shorts to Disney+ and Disney Jr. and will create new original content. In August, Dhar Mann Studios, known for its feel-good dramas and 170 million-plus followers, landed an initial order of 20 episodes for kids, tweens, teens, and families. September brought Like Nastya, one of the biggest kids’ creators in the world, with more than 450 million subscribers across 25 channels. Her deal includes an animated preschool series for Disney Jr. and Disney+, new live-action content and a collection of her existing videos. Then this month, Dude Perfect signed on to make Disney-inspired videos for its own channels, with select content heading to Disney+ and clips appearing across Disney+, ESPN and Disney’s social accounts. Reason #1: Kids Are Watching YouTube, Not TV If you have kids at home, you probably already know this one. Saturday morning cartoons have been replaced by YouTube, and the numbers back it up. YouTube brought in an estimated $62 billion in 2025, according to financial research firm MoffettNathanson. That’s more than Disney’s entire media business, which made $60.9 billion (not counting the parks). And kids are a big part of that audience. An estimated 64% of kids ages 8–12 use YouTube and TikTok every day, and more than 30% of Gen Alphas watch YouTube and YouTube Shorts for over two hours a day. Here’s the interesting part. Disney isn’t trying to pull kids away from YouTube. When Gracie’s Corner joined Disney+ and Disney Jr. in June, the show kept its YouTube channel, too. Disney is simply showing up where kids already spend their time and inviting them to follow their favorite creators over to Disney+. ©Disney Reason #2: Disney+ Gets Proven Content, Ready to Go Take a closer look at these deals, and you’ll notice a pattern. Almost every one includes a library of videos that already exist. Disney+ is getting Like Nastya’s back catalog, a selection of Dude Perfect’s short-form clips, and more than 120 Gracie’s Corner shorts. That’s a smart move. Making a brand-new show is expensive, and there’s no guarantee anyone will watch it. These videos have already racked up billions of views, so Disney knows they work before they ever land on Disney+. ©YouTube TV They also fit right into the new ways Disney+ is serving up content. This year the app launched Verts, a vertical video feed that will feel familiar to anyone who scrolls TikTok, plus a Creator Collection that brings creator-made videos to Disney+ and Hulu. For families, that means more to watch. For Disney, it means tested hits instead of guesswork. Reason #3: There’s a Creator for Every Age Each creator fills a different gap. As kids grow out of one show, there’s another familiar face waiting for them on Disney+. That keeps the whole family subscribed from the toddler years all the way through high school. Preschoolers: Gracie’s Corner, Like Nastya’s upcoming animated series, and Lenny Pearce join Disney Jr. favorites like Bluey and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Tweens and teens: Dhar Mann’s feel-good dramas about right and wrong, plus Lala Sadii’s scripted series Lala IRL. Sports-loving families and big kids: Dude Perfect, whose deal also brings their videos to ESPN. Reason #4: A Built-In Hype for Disney’s Biggest Moments The Dude Perfect deal shows what else Disney gets out of these partnerships: marketing. Disney has already seen what that kind of reach can do. When Dude Perfect took on the challenge of visiting all 12 Disney parks worldwide in under 75 hours, the video pulled in more than 13 million views in its first 24 hours and raised over $1.2 million for Make-A-Wish. Imagine that same energy pointed at a new Marvel movie. Is Disney Just Playing Catch-Up? To be fair, Disney isn’t the only company doing this. Netflix has been signing top YouTubers too, so part of this push is about keeping up with the competition. Some longtime fans may also worry about YouTube videos taking up space that used to go to classic Disney content. Still, the sheer number of deals and how neatly they fit together suggest Disney is doing more than just following the crowd. These proven creators bring ready-made audiences, fill Disney+ with content families already love, and cover every age. Follow us at DisneyFoodBlog for the latest Disney news. Our team looks forward to seeing the Christmas and holiday decorations every year, and the first decorations always appear at Magic Kingdom. Get ready to feel the Christmas spirit because it is HERE! Welcome to the Magic Kingdom! Right away, we saw the decorations along Main Street, U.S.A. Now, it’s raining, but that doesn’t make the park seem any less festive. Christmas is here! It’s here! The wreaths are on the lampposts that line the street. And they’re gorgeous! Wreaths are up Several buildings now have holiday wreaths on them, too. More wreaths! Holiday garland is also up around buildings like the Emporium… Emporium decorations …and Crystal Arts. The Caribbean Beach Resort is arguably one of the most historically important resorts on Disney World property, as the hotel was the VERY first Moderate Tier Resort when it opened back in 1988. Caribbean Beach Resort It’s also one of the most uniquely laid out resorts on property, with massive, sprawling grounds made up of sets of interconnected building villages named after countries in the Caribbean. That can make it a tough task to determine which area, building, and room is best to request for guests. However, fear not, we recently walked the entire Caribbean Beach Resort and found the best rooms for each kind of guest! Thanks to Caribbean Beach Resort’s unique layout, we’re going to examine the hotel area by area and pick out the best rooms in each. The Aruba village Jamaica If you’re staying in the Jamaica area and want to access the Walt Disney World Skyliner, building 41 – – and specifically room 4101 – – is going to be closest. Building 43, room 4313, is closest to Jamaica’s quiet pool. Pool Jamaica building 45 will be closest to the boardwalk/bridge to bring you to Old Port Royale (the hotel’s main lobby, pool, dining complex), with rooms 4524 to 4521 on the building’s ground level closest to the bridge over. Room 4556 provides the best views of the resort, the Skyliner, and the neighboring Riviera Resort. Finally, buildings 44 and 46, and rooms 4401, 4603,4603 are closest to the bus stop. Room 4401 Aruba In the Aruba area, building 51 is the closest to the bridge to Old Port Royale, with rooms 5124-5121 specifically being closest. Aruba rooms Meanwhile, building 52 is also close to the quiet pool, and rooms 5257-5260 have Aruba’s best views of the resort, its lake, and the Riviera Resort. Building 55 (specifically room 5509) is the closest to the Skyliner, as well as the walkway to the Riviera. Finally, building 56 and room number 5601 is the closest room to the bus stop. Room 5601 Trinidad In the Trinidad village area, building 34 and room 3405 is closest (uh, relatively) to the walkway to get to the Skyliner. Building 32, specifically room 3228, is closest to Spyglass Grill, the area’s quiet pool, and the laundry area. Spyglass Grill Building 36, room 3628, and building 37, room 3723, are the closest to the bus stop Map of the Caribbean Beach Resort Barbados In Barbados, Building 33, room 3317 is closest to the quiet pool and also the walkway to the Skyliner. The same building’s room 3308 is closest to Barbados’ bus stop. Room 3317 Finally, building 31 is going to be closest to Old Port Royale. Caribbean Beach rooms Martinique Finally, we have Martinique, where buildings 25 and 26 are closest to Old Port Royale, especially room 2518. Room 2425 Building 24 is closest to the Martinique bus stop, the pool, and the Riviera, which will be the closest Skyliner access as well. Specifically, room 2416 is closest to the pool as well as the walkway towards the Riviera. Caribbean Beach Resort So, once you’ve figured out which of these rooms is for you, how can you get it? The best way to try would be to request your desired room (or the desired area of your room) at the front desk when you arrive at the hotel. Now, you CAN try to call before your arrival, but in our experience, it’s better to do it in person. Also, once you make the request, prepare yourself to possibly wait a bit longer than for a general room. Just remember, requesting a specific room or area will NOT guarantee you’ll be able to get one. So please, be kind to the front desk Cast Members; they’re doing their best to help you. Long before the first guest heads down Main Street, U.S.A., four performers are warming up their voices, polishing their tap shoes, and preparing to bring one of Magic Kingdom’s most beloved traditions to life. For generations, the Dapper Dans have welcomed guests with laughter, music, and plenty of charm. Dressed in colorful striped costumes and performing four-part harmony, they’ve become as much a part of Main Street, U.S.A. as the horse-drawn trolley and Cinderella Castle. Their blend of harmony, comedy, guest interaction, and musicianship has delighted guests for decades, carrying on a Disney Parks tradition that dates back to Disneyland in 1959. Don Barnick, in blue, performing with the Dapper Dans on Main Street U.S.A. at Walt Disney World. At Walt Disney World, the Dapper Dans have been part of the guest experience since Opening Day in 1971. Over 55 years later, it remains one of the resort’s longest-running entertainment traditions. While guests know the group for their performances on Main Street, U.S.A., the stories behind the singers are just as memorable. Although their journeys are unique, they all share a passion for creating happiness, connecting with guests, and building careers doing what they love. Carrying on a Legacy For some performers, becoming a Dapper Dan is the realization of a lifelong dream. Dapper Dan Don Barnick with son, John Barnick, at Walt Disney World. | Don Barnick with the Dapper Dans on Main Street, U.S.A. For 12-year cast member John Barnick, that journey began before he was old enough to sing along. Growing up, barbershop harmony was simply part of life. His father, Don Barnick, performed as a Dapper Dan at the Magic Kingdom for over 15 years and family photo albums are filled with snapshots of a young John visiting Walt Disney World while his dad entertained guests. John Barnick on Main Street, U.S.A preforming with the Dapper Dans. “I knew I wanted to be a Dapper Dan from a very young age,” John said. Years later, after performing in entertainment roles across Walt Disney World, he achieved that dream. Today, he’s not just singing on Main Street. He’s continuing a family legacy. John’s story is one example of how the Dapper Dans tradition continues to inspire new generations of performers. That sense of legacy resonates throughout the group. Jonathan Meadows posing in front of the Main Street Cinema at Walt Disney World. Jonathan Meadows’ path to the Dapper Dans also began years before he joined the quartet. While visiting Walt Disney World as a college student from Iowa, he learned about a Voices of Liberty audition, quickly printed sheet music, and decided to give it a try. That opportunity launched a career that has now spanned nearly two decades and eventually led him to the Dapper Dans, where he helps carry on a tradition that has delighted guests for generations. “I’ve always known I wanted to perform,” said Jonathan. “It’s what I’ve loved my whole life.” Today, Jonathan is part of a legacy that extends well beyond any one performer and continues to inspire new entertainers. Dirk posing in front of the Emporium at Walt Disney World. Dirk Donahue’s connection to Disney stretches back even further. Growing up just a few miles from Walt Disney World, he remembers seeing Disney performers as a child and imagining what it would be like to one day wear a Disney costume himself. More than 30 years later, he’s still creating memorable moments for guests on Main Street, U.S.A. Dirk says some of the most meaningful moments happen when guests share stories about how the quartet has become part of their traditions. “It’s those personal connections that make this role so meaningful,” said Dirk. Like many Disney performers, Dirk’s career has included opportunities to share his talents in different vocal performance experiences across Walt Disney World. One of Dirk’s favorite memories involves Kelley McGillicuddy, who first met him at 7 years old during a visit to Walt Disney World. Years later, she too has returned as a Disney performer herself, creating a full-circle moment that highlights the lasting impact Disney performers can have on future generations. Dirk Donahue performs with the Voices of Liberty and meets Kelley McGillicuddy during her visit to Walt Disney World at age 7. “Those interactions with Dirk and other Disney performers stayed with me long after my vacation ended,” Kelley said. “They inspired me to audition for the company at 19 years old and now I have the opportunity to create those same magical moments for other families.” Together, their stories reflect a tradition that continues to inspire new generations of performers while honoring those who helped build it. That impact isn’t limited to fellow performers. Every day, the Dapper Dans create magical connections with guests through a simple conversation, a familiar song or a shared smile. Creating Connections Unlike many performers, the Dapper Dans aren’t separated from guests by a stage. They perform alongside them. “We’re the welcoming committee of Main Street,” Jonathan said. “Guests aren’t just watching the show. They’re part of it.” That connection is what keeps many performers coming back day after day. From celebrating birthdays and anniversaries to helping honor veterans and special milestones, the Dapper Dans often become part of a family’s Disney memories. For Miami-native Michael Rodriguez, those moments often happen through music and language. A classically trained opera performer, Michael especially enjoys connecting with Spanish-speaking guests and helping families feel seen and welcomed. One interaction, however, stands out above the rest. A young child approached him and excitedly said, “You look like me.” Michael Rodriguez posing in front of the Main Street Confectionery at Walt Disney World. “It’s hard to describe what that meant,” Michael said. “It’s about the connection. It’s about telling a story that guests can take home with them.” Whether through a song, a conversation, or a simple smile, the performers agree that those one-on-one interactions often become the most memorable part of the job. Opportunities in Harmony While each performer’s Disney journey is unique, one theme runs through every story: opportunity. For the Dapper Dans, growth isn’t measured by their roles. It’s found in perfecting a craft, building relationships, and creating meaningful moments for guests every day. Whether they dreamed of becoming a Dapper Dan as a child or discovered the role later in life, each has continued to learn, grow, and help shape a tradition cherished by generations of guests. Their experiences also highlight something many guests may not realize. The Dapper Dans are much more than singers. They’re musicians, improvisers, dancers, storytellers, and collaborators who rely on trust and teamwork every day. “The Dapper Dans are a team in every sense of the word,” Jonathan said. “Guests see four people performing together, but behind every show is a tremendous amount of collaboration, trust, and support.” John, Dirk, Jonathan and Michael in Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. Their performances even feature vintage Deagan Organ Chimes, a distinctive instrument that has been part of the Dapper Dans’ signature sound for decades. For John, Jonathan, Dirk and Michael, one of the most rewarding parts of the role is helping carry forward a tradition that means so much to guests while continuing to learn from one another every day. From mentoring newer performers to finding new ways to connect with audiences, they each play a part in ensuring the next generation of guests experiences the same joy and wonder that have defined the Dapper Dans for decades. The songs may be timeless, but every performance is different. Every guest is different. Every day brings a new opportunity to create a memory. As harmonies fill Main Street, U.S.A., these performers are doing far more than carrying on a beloved tradition. They’re creating connections, inspiring future generations, and carrying forward a tradition that has brought joy to Disney guests for generations. Well, if you had plans to head down to the bayou on your upcoming Disney World trip, you’re going to have to wait a bit longer. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is now closed for refurbishment at Magic Kingdom. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure We know, we know. This one has been a must-do since it opened, and the Lightning Lane and standby lines have been among the longest in the park. The good news is that a refurbishment means the ride will be in tip-top shape when it returns, with no more sad-looking critters or temperamental drop mechanics. The bad news is that you’ll have to wait over a month to ride this attraction once again. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is officially closed at Magic Kingdom as of November 2nd. The ride is undergoing its first major refurbishment since it opened in June 2024, so this is a much-needed closure. Unfortunately, it means that you won’t be able to take that trip down to the bayou for around six weeks. Sorry folks! According to the Disney World website, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is scheduled to reopen on Friday, December 18th, 2026 — just in time for a busy Christmas week. THE PLUNGE! Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is a thrilling water ride featuring Princess Tiana, Prince Naveen, and more beloved characters from The Princess and the Frog. While Disney hasn’t shared any details about what the closure is for, it’s likely for general maintenance, including work on animatronics and the flume system. The ride has struggled with animatronics mishaps since it opened, so this closure could address some of these issues (we hope!). Tiana’s Bayou Adventure In addition to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Tiana’s Bayou General is also closed as of November 2nd. Located at the ride exit, you can purchase your ride photos and some Princess Tiana merchandise. The Disney World calendar shows hours again for the store on December 18th, so it appears that it will be reopening with the ride. Closed for business The other store associated with this ride, Critter Co-Op, will remain open throughout the closures. This spot features Princess and the Frog merchandise, along with other general Disney souvenirs. Critter Co-Op We’ll be on the lookout for even more updates from Magic Kingdom and beyond. Grab your poncho, because Central Florida is serving up a very soggy start to November — including Disney World. Record-breaking rainfall has already drenched parts of the region, and another round of heavy rain is moving through this morning. A Flood Watch is in effect for nearly all of Central Florida today, with the heaviest downpours hitting Brevard County. Some communities there could see another 2 to 3 inches of rain. Rainy Day in Hollywood Studios Fewer crowds, cooler temps, and a legitimate reason to duck into a cozy table-service restaurant at Disney World? Sounds like a win. We’ve rounded up all the details you need to know if you’re heading to the parks this week, so let’s get into it. If you’re headed to Disney World today, don’t cancel your plans just yet. According to Fox 35 Orlando, rain is expected to stay widespread through the morning, then turn scattered by the afternoon, with cool highs in the 70s. Scattered showers may linger overnight and into Tuesday morning. For us, that means one thing: it’s the perfect excuse to eat your way through the parks. Rainy Day at Animal Kingdom Heavy rain and flash flood warnings are continuing across Central Florida after record-breaking downpours. A Flood Watch is in effect for nearly all of Central Florida through 7 PM tonight, November 2nd, due to the threat of additional heavy rainfall. Rain is expected to remain widespread through the morning and become more scattered later this afternoon. Luckily, temperatures will stay cooler, with highs in the 70s. ©Fox35 Orlando Scattered showers remain possible overnight and into Tuesday morning. Residents and visitors should remain alert for changing conditions, avoid driving through flooded roadways, and monitor local weather alerts. ©Fox35 Orlando Our biggest tip for days like this is to not let the rain ruin your day! For the most part, the crowds will really thin out when it rains. So if you stick it out, you will likely have the opportunity to enjoy lower wait times. The indoor merchandise areas will likely get very crowded, and wait times might initially spike. But we suggest heading towards an attraction with an indoor queue. If you’re looking to grab a bite to eat to get out of the rain, take a look at the Walk-up Waitlist in the My Disney Experience app to see if any Table Service restaurants have availability. Look at this rain! We think Magic Kingdom is the best park for a rainy day simply because there are so many indoor attractions and locations. Even if quite a few outdoor rides shut down due to lightning, there are still many things to do, and places to eat inside. Stormy day at Magic Kingdom We’ll be on the lookout for more updates that could impact your Disney World trip and beyond. 8 MAJOR Ride Changes Hits Disney World This Week
Disney4me posted a topic in Disney Food/Restaurants
Halloween is OVER, and the holiday season is about to take over Disney World — and as a certified “Holidays at Disney” lover, I could not be happier about it! With the holidays nearby comes some big changes to the “Most Magical Place on Earth.” Jingle Cruise The next few weeks will see the launch of several major holiday events, the rollout of new snacks and merchandise, and — our topic today — a spate of major ride changes! The Jingle Cruise Let’s begin with arguably Disney World’s most popular Christmas-themed overlay: The transformation of the “World Famous” Jungle Cruise into the Jingle Cruise! Jingle Cruise The ride offers a version of the classic “packed with holiday-themed puns,” and unlike any of the other holiday overlays we’ll get to in Magic Kingdom, it’s available to all guests as opposed to only guests with tickets to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Suffice to say, the ride is a popular one, with lines often spilling all the way through Adventureland. Notably, the attraction is NOT offered as part of Early Entry, so hotel guests will have to rope drop it traditionally when the ride opens November 3rd. Jingle Cruise Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Overlays In addition to the Jungle Cruise, several other Magic Kingdom attractions will receive special holiday overlays during the park’s premier Christmas event — which launches November 8th –, including: Space Mountain: Features “high-energy holiday tunes and festive interior lighting.” The Tomorrowland Speedway: Transforms into Tomorrowland Speedway Race, which is “filled with thousands of lights, stylized décor and a fun, futuristic holiday soundtrack.” The Mad Tea Party: Becomes a “wild and wacky Christmas party where you can spin your teacup to one of 4 holiday combos of lights and music.” Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor: Puts “some ‘ha ha ha’ in their ‘ho ho ho’ with a seasonal show.” Space Mountain in its festive lighting Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets From Disney World’s most popular holiday overlays to its newest, Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets is getting a holiday overlay for its first Christmas at Hollywood Studios. Beginning on November 4th, the attraction will be transformed into Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets: Obligatory Holiday Overlay. The attraction’s courtyard will burst with festive music, and the pre-show will feature The Electric Mayhem in rehearsals for their holiday spectacular. The overlay — which lasts until January 6th — will also feature a unique mix of Christmas tunes on board, including: “Holiday Road” – The Electric Mayhem ft. Kermit the Frog and Fozzie Bear “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” – The Electric Mayhem ft. Jennifer Hudson “Silver Bells” – The Electric Mayhem ft. Cyndi Lauper ©Disney DJ Lilypad Decks the Halls Speaking of holiday overlays at Hollywood Studios, Christmas music is returning to Alien Swirling Saucers in Toy Story Land on November 4th. This time, the tunes are presented by the new DJ Lilypad, who debuted in September. The new playlist includes: “Deck the Halls” “Toyland” “Swirling, Swirling, Saucers” “Joy to the Swirl” ©Disney Tiana’s Bayou Adventure However, even with these holiday overlays, Disney World will also see a closure this week. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will close for a short refurbishment on November 2nd. The attraction, which opened back in 2024, is currently scheduled to reopen on December 18th, just before the fullest extent of the Christmas rush. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Disney World will see a slate of major ride overlays — and a major temporary closure — this week, as the holiday season begins in earnest! We’re just a few short days away from the start of the holiday season in Disney World with the beginning of the resort’s two holiday parties — Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Jollywood Nights. Echo Lake in Hollywood Studios If you’re a Disney Vacation Club member, there are very specific dates you’ll want to head over to Disney’s Hollywood Studios to grab an extra special treat. Don’t worry, we’ve got the dates for you, but as a warning — it’s only happening SIX times throughout the next two months! Jollywood Nights this year takes place on select nights from November 7th, 2026 to January 5th, 2027, and every night, you can meet over 20 different characters (many of them rare), try exclusive holiday treats, and ride some of your favorite attractions with little to no waits, but there’s an added bonus for Disney Vacation Club members. Disney’s Hollywood Studios On six party nights, DVC members can stop by Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After to enjoy free hot chocolate and pick up a free Disney Vacation Club holiday keepsake! This perk is only available for members attending on November 16th, November 23rd, December 7th, December 14th, and 21st. Sunset Boulevard Crowds If you’re a DVC member who’s visiting the party on another date, unfortunately, this perk won’t be available. If you haven’t gotten your tickets yet, most dates still have availability, with the exception of November 7th and November 14th, the first two dates of the season. DVC members and Annual Passholders are able to get a discount on tickets, so don’t forget to make sure you’re signed into your account before you purchase your tickets. Jollywood Nights Not sure what Disney Vacation Club is? Many guests think of the DVC as Disney’s version of a timeshare. But uniquely, Members are not “locked in” to a particular Disney destination, resort, style of accommodation, season of travel, or length of stay. Instead, Members utilize a Vacation Points system, offering more flexibility to choose where they’d like to go. Disney Vacation Club Members receive a yearly allotment of Vacation Points based on “the size of the real estate interest” of their “Home” Disney Vacation Club Resort, and then Members may use their Vacation Points to book their vacations. ©Disney Want to learn more about the holiday season at Disney World? When it comes to dining at Disney World, you’ve got a TON of options. Whether you want something quick and easy or to sit down for a full meal, the resort has you covered. The Plaza Restaurant We recently stopped by The Plaza Restaurant in Magic Kingdom to check out the new holiday eats that just landed, and we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is it worth a stop on your next trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth? Let’s dive in! Atmosphere The Plaza Restaurant is located at the end of Main Street, U.S.A., facing Cinderella Castle (closest to Tomorrowland). It’s one of Magic Kingdom’s smaller restaurants, though not one of the most popular, so getting a reservation can be a bit of a toss-up. Plaza Restaurant All the tables here are indoors and are a mixture of booths and regular tables, but you’ll probably be seated fairly close to another party while you dine, as they’re all pretty close together. The atmosphere here is bright and charming, bringing you back to days past. If you’re seated near the windows, you’ll get a stunning view of the castle — even better if you’re sitting there close to a parade! Rotunda Room But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu When visiting for lunch, as we were, you’ll find appetizers like Plaza Loaded Fries, a House Salad, Beer-battered Onion Rings, and a soup of the day, while entrées are made up of offerings like a Bacon Cheeseburger, Chicken Waldorf Salad, Chef Salad, Chilled Shrimp Wedge Salad, and more. Dessert is also available! The menu! Now, we’re here to try out the holiday offerings that just landed on the menu, which include the new Classic Reuben Sandwich and Red Velvet Cheesecake. Returning this year for the holidays are Santa’s Floridian Pulled Pork Sandwich and the Merry Berry Cosmopolitan. And now, onto the main event — the food! Eats First up, we grabbed the Classic Reuben Sandwich for $26. This is made with Sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, Thousand Island dressing, and griddled rye. Classic Reuben Sandwich This is a pretty hearty sandwich! The meat is moist without feeling dry, and the Thousand Island dressing really brings everything together and works well with the other ingredients. If you’re used to a toasted texture for your sandwich, this bread is on the softer side, so that may throw you off. The fries served on the side are also on the softer side, rather than crispy, which is another thing to keep in mind. At $26, this sandwich is definitely a little pricey for what it is. While it was good, it isn’t really anything to write home about, so we do think that’s a pretty steep price. The inside of the sandwich Now, despite Disney saying that this is new, it’s really not, seeing as there was a Reuben Sandwich added to the menu back in 2022, and what we’ve found is that this is just a slightly more elevated version of that former menu item. It’s still iconic, still beloved, but it won’t be a Reuben you’re dreaming about. The Plaza Reuben (2022) Next was the Red Velvet Cheesecake for $11, which is Red velvet cake topped with vanilla swirl cheesecake. Red Velvet Cheesecake The entire dessert has an incredibly soft texture, but the two layers have noticeably different consistencies. The cheesecake layer on top is very thick, while the red velvet cake on the bottom is moist and soft. The two blend together well, though, and the cheesecake wasn’t as rich as we were expecting it to be. The thin chocolate layers hidden throughout add a little surprise to the dessert, which we loved. Our biggest drawback is that we weren’t getting as much of a red velvet flavor as we would have liked, as the cheesecake was a bit too overpowering. There is a LOT of cheesecake We do feel this is really worth the cost for the price, but it is VERY filling, so we think it’s best if you’re sharing it with someone, or if you’re really craving some dessert. It’s definitely not a dessert you’ll feel you paid too much for a small piece! Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… Main Street, U.S.A. is your favorite part of the Magic Kingdom. The Plaza Restaurant is the perfect embodiment of Main Street, U.S.A. The decorations are all in the elegant turn-of-the-century style, and the menu features classic American cuisine. We tend to get a little sappy and sentimental when we’re walking down Main Street, and if you do, too, this is a great place to really soak in that charming atmosphere. You’re looking for an affordable but quality meal. Many of the entrees here are under $25 – not bad, eh? Yes, Disney World has a reputation for being an expensive place to go on vacation, but this is one of those places where you can get away with spending less while still enjoying good food (lookin’ at you, Plaza Loaded Fries). You agree that ice cream makes any meal 10x better. Three words: Original Banana Split. They’ve even got milkshakes! This restaurant is right next door to the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor, but here, you get delicious ice cream in a quieter (and air-conditioned) setting. You should skip this Disney World spot if… You want over-the-top Disney theming. You won’t find anything that directly screams, “Disney” here, so be warned. This is a charming restaurant, but if you’ve got little kids to impress, they might start getting bored and restless. You’re over all the sandwiches and French fries. It’s nice to be able to sit down and relax in the middle of a park day. But, honestly, the food here is more or less the same type of food you can get at a quick-service restaurant. Yes, the burger is a little more elevated than, say, a burger at Cosmic Ray’s, but Disney World has a LOT of burgers to choose from. You’re visiting outside of the holiday season. The Plaza Restaurant has the added bonus of exclusive menu items for Halloween and Christmas. If you want those specialty menu items, you might want to wait for the holiday season to dine here. Otherwise, you’ll be limited to the standard menu. Overall Overall, we think the new additions here are solid, but nothing absolutely out of this world, which is how we feel about The Plaza Restaurant most of the time. It’s beautiful, iconic, and we’re so happy it’s around, but you likely won’t leave there feeling like you had one of the best meals of your trip.
