TRON Lightcycle / Run Disney World wait times have a reputation for being, well, unpredictable, and that’s especially true during the fall season. 5. If you’re someone who doesn’t prefer to spend a fortune on sweet treats in Disney World, we’re warning you now — this post very well may change your mind. Pecan Pie at The Cake Bake Shop We talk about The Cake Bake Shop at Disney’s BoardWalk quite often, and how much we love it, but to be honest, our wallets don’t feel the same. It’s no secret that it’s one of most expensive spots for desserts in all of Disney World, but it’s part of our job to keep going back time and time again to give you our full review on all the latest snacks that land on the menu. A new pecan pie just landed on the menu here, but is it really worth a $15 price tag? We’re finding out! One slice of Pecan Pie at The Cake Bake Shop will cost you $15, and while that seems like a lot, this is a Southern-style Georgia pecan pie that’s a version of The Swan House in Georgia. To get the perfect pie texture, the recipe calls for chopping some pecans and leaving others whole, baking it in the Cake Bake Shop’s signature all-butter pie dough crust, and then adding a bit of raw brown sugar for extra sparkle and crunch. Delicious! This pie is indeed absolutely loaded with pecans! They are deliciously toasted, so crunchy, and the flavors come through. The classic pecan pie filling isn’t overpowering, and it’s thick-set, so we appreciated that it didn’t ooze everywhere. As with so many holiday pies, the crust looks gorgeous on the outside, especially on the back corner, but with how much filling there is, you can’t taste it. Look at that crust! Now, we do wish it came with something a little lighter, like vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, as the sweet flavor here does get a little overwhelming after a few bites, but if you’re someone who absolutely adores pecan pie, you likely won’t share this same sentiment. It’s also a great piece of pie that can be shared between two people, which helps mitigate cost as well! Pecans beyond! Want to see what dining at The Cake Bake Shop looks like? Check out our video below! 6. Confession time: for years, I packed for Disney World like I was headed to the beach. I’m a die-hard flip-flop wearer. I’m also a self-declared shoe hater. Sneakers have always felt heavy, hot, and bulky to me, so I’d toss a pair of old lightweight Nikes in my bag “just in case” and spend most of the trip in sandals. The shoes you pack matter And then I’d spend most of the trip complaining about my feet. Here’s the thing nobody tells you until you’ve learned it the hard way: a day at Disney World can easily rack up ten miles of walking, plus hours of standing in lines, on hot pavement, with zero breaks. The shoes that feel fine for a quick run to the grocery store are NOT the shoes that survive EPCOT’s World Showcase loop after a full day at Magic Kingdom. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Shoes That Have Betrayed Us in the Parks We’ve tested a LOT of footwear at Disney World over the years. Some of it went well. Some of it…did not. Flip-flops. Comfy for about an hour. After that? No arch support, sore heels, and a slapping sound that follows you through every queue. Plus, wet flip-flops after a water ride or a Florida downpour are a slip hazard waiting to happen. “Barely there” lightweight sneakers. Great for the gym. Not great for 12 hours on concrete. There’s just not enough cushion between you and the pavement, and by day two, you FEEL it in your heels, knees, and lower back. Brand-new shoes we hadn’t broken in. Rookie mistake. Fresh-out-of-the-box shoes on day one of a park trip are a blister recipe. Even some “good” running shoes. We liked a lot about the HOKA Rincon 4s, but the backs of them rubbed the backs of our heels. That’s not something you notice in a 10-minute try-on. It’s something you notice in hour six at Hollywood Studios. Magic Kingdom What We’ve Had to Switch Up When your feet start to hurt mid-park day, your options get limited fast. Here’s what we’ve ended up doing (and what we do differently now): Swapping shoes midday. We’ve literally carried a backup pair in our park bag just so we could change shoes at lunch. It works, but it’s extra weight and extra stuff to haul around. Patching up blisters on the go. Bandages and moleskin are now permanent residents of our park bag. If you forget yours, First Aid in each park can help, but you lose valuable park time getting there. Calling it early. The saddest one. We’ve cut evenings short (goodbye, fireworks!) because our feet simply couldn’t do one more lap. Planning around our feet instead of the fun. Skipping a walk to another land, grabbing a bus instead of the walkway, sitting out a parade. All because of shoes. You’ve made a huge investment in this vacation. It’s a shame to spend it dealing with foot problems instead of making memories. So we finally did what we should have done years ago: we tested real, supportive, cushioned shoes over many, MANY miles in the parks (and I even laced up for my very first runDisney 5K). Here are the ones that won us over, plus one little treat for your feet at the end of the day. LOTS of people Our #1 Pick: HOKA Women’s Clifton 10 ©Amazon After miles and miles of testing, the HOKA Clifton 10s are our favorite shoes for the parks, and I say that as a die-hard flip-flop wearer. If I was comfortable in these, practically anyone can be. They’re bouncy when you step, with tons of support at the heel, and they’re a great fit if you have high arches like I do. ©Amazon The cushion isn’t the kind that makes you feel like you’re about to leap into the air with every step. It’s a gentle give that greets your foot as you walk normally. I actually prefer these over the lightweight Nikes I’ve worn for years, because instead of feeling like you’ve added pounds to your feet, the HOKAs cradle your whole foot. ©Amazon I avoided thick-soled shoes for years because they always looked and felt bulky to me, but the Clifton’s height is vertical bulk, not horizontal. It’s there to cushion, not to widen, and it evens out the moment you start walking. They’re built to last, too. Even after breaking them in, mine don’t look worn or sunken, and they’re still springy at the heel and sole. Honestly, it’s hard to find fault with these, except maybe the price. They’re an essential for your trip; they made mine easier, and they’re about to join my everyday rotation. If you’re shoe-averse because of texture, weight, or looks, these are the ones that will convert you. view ON AMAZON A Very Close Second: Brooks Women’s Ghost 17 ©Amazon The Brooks Ghost 17s are marketed to runners, but they’re really for anyone who wants a well-fitting, comfortable shoe that can handle long walks and lots of time on your feet (sounds like a Disney day to us!). They’re pricey, there’s no denying that, but they DO deliver on their promise of comfort. ©Amazon Nitrogen-infused cushioning in the heel and forefoot gives you extra bounce where you need it most. The blend of soft and responsive cushioning makes you feel like you’re gliding, instead of sending a full-on impact through your body every time your foot hits the ground. The redesigned air mesh upper has a kickback collar and a breathable structure, so your feet don’t get sweaty just from walking around. And the updated midsole works with flex grooves in the outsole to carry the support through your whole step, not just the initial impact. ©Amazon They feel a little heavy at first, but they start to conform to your foot as you walk. Because there’s extra cushion everywhere, including inside the heel, they can feel snug until you break them in. If you don’t love a firm grip around your foot, consider sizing up a half or full size. And if you order directly from Brooks, you get a 90-day test run, so you can return them for free if they’re not for you. They’re not quite as comfy to me as the HOKA Clifton 10s, but they’re DARN close. They’re my second favorite of every shoe we’ve tried, ahead of the HOKA Rincon 4s. As a self-declared shoe hater, I’d absolutely buy these with my own money, and they earn a full 5 out of 5 from us. view ON AMAZON For After the Parks: Dr. Scholl’s Tired, Achy Feet Foot Mask ©Amazon Even the best shoes can’t make 20,000+ steps disappear. That’s where a little end-of-day recovery comes in. These warming foot mask booties slip right on, so you can kick back in your resort room after a long park day and give your feet some TLC. The pack comes with 3 pairs, which is perfect for the toughest nights of your trip (we’re looking at you, EPCOT day). They’re small and light enough to toss in your suitcase without a second thought. view ON AMAZON If you take one thing away from this, let it be this: your shoes can make or break your Disney World trip. For us, the HOKA Clifton 10 is the clear winner, with the Brooks Ghost 17 right on its heels. Either one will help you spend less time thinking about your feet and more time enjoying the magic. 10. If you’re obsessed with Disney history, this restaurant definitely deserves a spot on your bucket list! Tam O’Shanter There is TONS of rich Disney history to explore in Southern California, including the OG Disneyland Park, of course! But if you’re ready to do a deep dive into Disney lore, you may want to make at least one dining reservation outside of the resort during your next vacation. We recently visited the legendary Los Angeles steakhouse Tam O’Shanter, a favorite spot of Walt Disney himself, AND the place where he and his animators discussed their ideas for some of the most iconic animated films of all time! Atmosphere The moment we entered Tam O’Shanter, it was easy to see why Walt Disney and his animators considered it a great spot for their brainstorming sessions. It’s beautifully classic and makes you feel like you’re in a storybook cottage! We Definitely Get Fairy Tale Vibes! We sat at the same table where Walt most frequently sat when he would dine here. For guaranteed seating at this table, guests can make a reservation for the Table 31 experience, which is what we did! Walt’s Favorite Table! As an homage to Walt, there’s artwork of Mickey Mouse at Tam O’Shanter hanging above his favorite table. Mickey Art Above Walt’s Table There are also still notes and sketches carved into the table from the animators during their brainstorming sessions with Walt. You can still see traces of some of the animator notes! Plus, the table also has a plaque that marks the historical significance of the location. Plaque on Walt’s Table Obviously, this table is an extra-special place for Disney history buffs. But the restaurant also has lots more photographs and artwork throughout, especially at the check-in desk, that honor its history and connection to Walt Disney. Photo of Walt Now, let’s get into the dining experience itself! Menu Like we mentioned earlier, we booked the Table 31 Experience, which was priced at $89 per person. Table 31 Experience Menu It includes guaranteed seating at Walt’s table, plus a selection of starters, your choice of a first course and second course, and a dessert. Drinks aren’t included in the price, so those need to be purchased separately. Lunch menu! It’s a curated menu of Walt’s favorites, and you get a loyalty card to bring back with you if you do this experience multiple times. Loyalty Card Each time you book the Table 31 Experience, you also get a surprise souvenir! We got a Tam O’Shanter pin as our souvenir, and our hostess said that there are up to four different surprise souvenirs you can collect. Tam O’Shanter Pin Let’s kick things off with some drinks! Drinks We were told that Walt Disney himself allegedly had a Scotch Mist every day, so we obviously had to start with one of these, priced at $16. Fair warning for the uninitiated: this is just liquor. It’s Scotch whiskey poured over a glass of tightly packed crushed ice with an expressed lemon peel twist. The lemon peel did absolutely nothing to cut through this incredibly strong drink, and we had to let the ice melt before we could drink it so it would water down the whiskey. If you love the taste of whiskey (think malty, woody), this might be one that you can enjoy. But if you prefer a lighter taste of alcohol in your cocktails, this one will probably be tough to finish! Scotch Mist We also tried the Pimm’s Cup for $14. This was also a pretty simple blend of ingredients, made with Pimm’s No. 1 (a dry gin blend) and ginger ale. The ginger ale added a really nice sweetness, and we appreciated the bubbly, carbonated mixture. The drink itself was slightly fruity thanks to the strawberry flavor profile. We also got notes of lemon, but it was subtle. It came with a cucumber garnish, which we didn’t feel added much but also didn’t bother us, and overall the drink was mild and easy to sip on throughout the meal. Pimm’s Cup It’s officially time for some FOOD! Eats The Table 31 Experience includes a starter of Deviled Eggs & Pickled Veggies & Bacon-Wrapped Dates — it automatically comes with this, so no choice for this course! The deviled eggs were a hit with us. The egg white was nice and soft while still being firm enough to hold the filling. Speaking of the filling, it was a little bit more pungent than a mild deviled egg, and we sensed that they used some horseradish to really give it a kick and flavor. The pickled vegetables were super straightforward. They had a nice snap to them, but weren’t hard, and the main flavors were the vinegar and the chili flakes on top. They were nice and refreshing, although they might be a little bit surprising to people who prefer milder flavors. The Starter! The bacon-wrapped dates were definitely our favorite part of the starter. The dates were soft and had an almost caramel flavor. The bacon was perfectly salty and had a touch of crispiness on the edges, which gave them an interesting textural element. It was a sweet/savory kind of bite! Overall, these were a nice start to the meal and gave a clear picture of the flavors and style in the courses to come. Starters Now, on to the first course! We were dining with two people, so we were able to try both of the different options, starting with The Tam’s Famous Chili. It was maybe the most hearty chili we’ve ever had, and we honestly couldn’t believe Walt ate this almost every day with how filling it was! It was really rich in flavor and consistency, and you could tell there were tons of different spices mixed into it (we tasted notes of cumin, paprika, and chili, specifically). It was really heavy on the beans and meat, making it a thicker consistency. It also had a surprising amount of spice, significantly more than “Disney theme park spicy,” so be careful if you prefer things more on the mild side! The Famous Chili! The other first course option was the Wedge Salad. This might be the better choice if you plan on doing the (very hearty) 31 Burger for the second course, since it comes topped with the chili. It’s half a wedge of lettuce, cut into two pieces, with a vinaigrette along the bottom, and topped with loads of blue cheese, dressing, bacon, and tomatoes. The vinaigrette got lost in the pungent blue cheese, and we didn’t notice much flavor coming from it. The wedge was fresh and crispy, and the tomatoes and bacon added a much-needed, salty and acidic element to make it more interesting. It was really nothing to write home about, but it’s a solid choice if you want a lighter first course or if you’re a big blue cheese fan. Wedge Salad Moving on to the second course, let’s talk about the 31 Burger. Spoiler alert, it’s A LOTTTTT. It comes with a burger patty on sourdough bread covered in chili, next to a platter of fries also covered in chili. It’s the same chili from the first course, so it’s HEARTY. The sourdough was probably an inch thick and hard to cut through. The hamburger patty was completely overwhelmed by the taste of chili, and we barely even noticed it was there. We did notice the chopped onions, though, which we appreciated to break through some of the chili flavor. There were also slices of bacon that added a nice fattiness and crunch. The fries were just “normal,” but we still enjoyed them. They didn’t have any special seasoning (trust us, the chili is doing plenty of heavy lifting there), but they were well cooked because they were crispy enough and soft on the inside. We felt like this plate could have been shared by multiple people, honestly, especially since there are other courses involved. 31 Burger Next up, we’re moving on to the Prime Rib, which we thought was easily the best dish we had here! It came with prime rib, potatoes and gravy, cream spinach with bacon, and Yorkshire pudding. It’s listed as a “smaller portion” on the menu, but it was still a super hearty meal. The prime rib melted in our mouths and was perfectly cooked. It was so juicy and flavorful! The mashed potatoes were incredibly smooth with no lumps at all. They didn’t have a ton of taste by themselves, but the gravy added a rich, salty flavor. The cream spinach was rich, smooth, and buttery. The Yorkshire pudding had more of a bready taste, as opposed to the eggy taste some versions can take on, and it was a very subtle addition to the dish. It felt like more of a vessel to soak up all the amazing juices around the prime rib than something to enjoy on its own. Overall, this dish was such a wonderful standout, and we loved every part of it! Prime Rib Now let’s talk dessert, starting with the Hot Fudge Sundae. This was quite nice after all of the heavy dishes that we had! It’s vanilla ice cream, topped with whipped cream, fudge, and peanuts. The flavors were super familiar and easy to enjoy, and the nuts added a really nice crunch to an overall very soft dessert. The simple vanilla ice cream was really welcome after eating so much hot chili! Hot Fudge Sundae And finally, we also tried the English Trifle. We’d say this one was just okay, but we weren’t blown away. The sponge cake was light, but it was overwhelmed by the whipped cream and filling, so it got lost in each bite. In the moments when we did notice the cake, it had really soaked up all of the fruity flavors, which was nice, but those bites weren’t frequent. The trifle tasted like it was strawberry-flavored, but the whipped cream really took over the flavor profile, so that was the only thing we 100% picked up on all the way through. English Trifle The overarching theme through each of the courses was classic, retro flavors and HEARTY portions, so if you plan to do the Table 31 Experience, be sure to come hungry! Nosh or Not This restaurant is a must-visit if… You’re a huge fan of Disney history and lore. It was a seriously cool experience to try some of Walt’s favorite dishes while dining at his go-to table. Between that and the various pieces of Disney decor and history (including the animator notes ON the table!), it’s a must-do for anyone obsessed with the history of the company and Walt Disney himself. You’re in the mood for a hearty meal. Between the portions and the style of the food itself, this is definitely a heavy, filling meal, especially if you do the full Table 31 Experience. It would be hard to leave here hungry, assuming you actually eat the items you order, of course! You enjoy classic, nostalgic flavors. There was definitely a retro vibe to each of the courses that reminded us of a mid-20th-century feast. If tried-and-true classic dishes are right up your alley, you’ll have plenty of good options here. You should skip this spot if… You aren’t super interested in Disney history. We really enjoyed our meal here. Everything was at least good, and we had some truly great standouts, like the prime rib and chili. BUT, Tam O’Shanter is a pretty far drive from Disneyland (over 30 miles, with LA traffic to consider). With that in mind, if you’re staying near the park, it’s probably only worth the trek to get there and back if you’re interested in the restaurant’s ties to Disney history. You prefer a light meal. The food here was all on the heavier side, and you get a TON of it, especially with the Table 31 Experience. If you aren’t super hungry or want to eat lighter because you have a busy day ahead, it can be harder to get your money’s worth here. You’re looking for trendy food and drinks. Both the flavors and presentation here definitely lean towards the classic, old-school vibe. To use a Disney World restaurant analogy, expect dishes more in line with 50s Prime Time Cafe, as opposed to somewhere like Space 220. Overall This was a solid meal, and we enjoyed all of the food we tried, with a few standouts we’ll happily rave about (shoutout to the prime rib!). The Table 31 Experience is a must-do for anyone passionate about Disney history. Getting to sit at Walt’s table and try some of his favorites is a unique experience we’ll be thinking about for years! Of course, it’s a bit of a trek to get to Tam O’Shanter if you’re staying near Disneyland, so you’ll need to plan appropriately if this is on your must-do list. But if you’re a Disney Adult like us, it might be well worth the visit! Worth the visit for fans of Disney history! We’ll keep reporting back with more restaurant reviews from the Disney parks and beyond, so stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for the latest updates! 8 of the Best Restaurants for Picky Eaters in Disney World Wondering where you should dine on your next vacation? 11. Disney World has been going through a LOT of change in recent years, including permanently closing restaurants, shows, and attractions to make way for new offerings, like Monstropolis and the Tropical Americas. RIP DINOSAUR And Disney fans don’t think it’s going to stop there. We recently took to our Facebook to ask, “We wanna know, what rides are YOU convinced are going to close next? ,” and you all had some interesting predictions! Tomorrowland Speedway There are a few ideas for Tomorrowland Speedway when it comes to its closure. The first is a permanent closure. Chris Fiumefreddo wrote, “Predicting Speedway closes once the Cars area opens at MK,” to which Lisa Terrill Striker replied, “I can’t believe it’s lasted this long.” A lot of guests are opposed to the smell of gas from the attraction, which usually leads to low wait times. Gail Flesch Franco is also ready to see the attraction removed, commenting, “I am really for the speedway to go. They could put something so cool there.” Tomorrowland Speedway However, some fans think the attraction will just get an update instead of being entirely removed, including Tim Brindle, who wrote, “I’ve heard in the past the idea of turning Speedway into a Candy Crush track. I think that would be awesome.” This could especially be true with the change to Autopia in Disneyland as they transition from gas cars to electric vehicles. Tomorrowland Speedway Jungle Cruise Now, Disney fans don’t think this iconic Magic Kingdom attraction will permanently close, but they do think it’s due for an update. Kelly Downard commented, “Probably not a full close but I think Jungle Cruise is due for an update (even if it’s just the speakers so we can understand the skippers).” Jennifer Beth agreed, writing, “This would be great! I have to sit front middle to hear. No need to take my dad as the audio too bad for him everywhere on the boats.” And I agree, too! It can be extremely difficult to hear the skippers if you’re sitting in the back of the boat, and after waiting in a long line, you don’t just want to hear muffles. An audio update is definitely due for the Jungle Cruise! Jungle Cruise has received some additions and a change in storyline over the last few years. But an update to the audio would be nice! Jungle Cruise Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros This has been talked about for a little bit now since the attraction feels extremely outdated. Lindsay White wrote, “I hope not but The Gran fiesta tour! I feel they’re going to change it to Coco!” However, some people think this would be unrealistic since Coco is such a popular movie. Jason Chapa responded, “not happening. The pavilion doesn’t have the room for a massive queue.” And if you’ve been in the Gran Fiesta Tour queue, you’d understand what Jason is talking about. It’s very small and tight, so there really isn’t any room for a large-scale attraction. Gran Fiesta Tour, you’re safe for now. Gran Fiesta Tour! Mission: SPACE This EPCOT attraction is one of the very few that wouldn’t be missed if it permanently closed (by most, that is). It makes people extremely motion sick, so much so that the attraction almost always has a low wait time. And many fans agree that this ride is the next to go, including Alicia Goodloe, who wrote, “Mission Space can close. That’s the only sacrifice.” Grady Barrineau agreed, commenting, “I feel Mission Space might be in its final years. Its a classic, but it has slowly been deteriorating.” And this is another attraction Gail Flesch Franco would be happy to see go, as they wrote, “I would be happy to see Mission Space close. ” Mission: SPACE Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor With a whole area inspired by Monsters, Inc. opening in Hollywood Studios next year, a lot of people are speculating that the show in Magic Kingdom will shutter. Jennifer Triana agrees, writing, “Im thinking monsters laugh floor once monsters land open.” This could be especially true since the new area will be home to another show in the Glob Theater, “Welcome to Monstropolis.” Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor These are just a few of the rides that could close in the coming years, but we can’t forget about the ones we’ve already lost. This includes our beloved DINOSAUR. The attraction closed in February 2026 to make way for an Indiana Jones-inspired attraction as part of the new Tropical Americas area of Animal Kingdom. 15. You know that feeling when you’ve been eating fries and DOLE whips for four days straight in Disney World, and your body decides you desperately need a vegetable? Yeah, I’ve been there too. Cobb Salad It’s likely the combination of lots of fried food, being out in the elements all day, and the 20K steps you’re clocking in each park, but at some point, your body is probably going to beg you for some vitamins. Well, if you have found yourself in that spot, congratulations — I’ve got the solution for you! Garden Grill Starting out strong, I’m going to recommend you head over to Garden Grill. This family-style character meal is located inside The Land Pavilion at EPCOT, and they’re known for having delicious fresh veggies that are grown right downstairs inside the Living with the Land greenhouses! Our first course! The vegetables you’re served change seasonally, but you’ll always get some kind of salad and usually some kind of side veggie to go with your meal. In general, we’re big fans of the meal here because it’s laid back, you often get to see the characters multiple times, and Farmer Mickey is just too stinkin’ cute. See Our Garden Grill Review Here! Columbia Harbour House Heading over to Magic Kingdom, Columbia Harbour House is one of the best quick-service spots to go if you’re craving something healthier. Yes, you can get fried shrimp and chicken tenders here, but they also have meals like salmon with rice and green beans. In addition, they have a grilled shrimp plate and a shrimp salad. Maple-Mustard Glazed Salmon The food here is truly a cut above the other quick-service spots in Magic Kingdom, and it’s nice that you can sit down and enjoy it in a laid-back, air-conditioned environment. As long as you like seafood, this is a great option! See Our Review of Columbia Harbour House Here! Connections Eatery Connections Eatery is the big quick-service restaurant in EPCOT near the front of the park, and while it does offer some basic crowd-pleasing eats, perhaps the best item on the menu is the General Tso Chicken Salad. You can also get it in a tofu version, but this is one of the fresher and more exciting quick-service salads available. General Tso Chicken Salad Bite The chicken is crispy on the outside with a delightful General Tso sauce, and the portion size is decent for the price. If it’s a salad you want, this is likely your best fast food option in EPCOT. See Our Review of Connections Eatery Here! The Hollywood Brown Derby But speaking of salads, the KING of all Disney World salads is over in Hollywood Studios at The Hollywood Brown Derby and The Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge. Here, they have the Cobb Salad, made famous by the OG Brown Derby restaurant in literal Hollywood. YUM. Made with spit-roasted turkey, bacon, egg, tomatoes, blue cheese, avocado, and topped with classic dressing, this chopped salad quite literally changed my perspective on how good a salad could be. I dream about it sometimes in the heat of summer when I want something fresh and light, but delicious with every bite. (I may sound like I’m overselling it, and I promise you I am NOT — our whole team is obsessed with it!) See Our Review of the Hollywood Brown Derby Here! Sunshine Seasons If you’re looking for something healthy in EPCOT that’s not explicitly a salad, might I recommend Sunshine Seasons? Located inside The Land Pavilion (they’ve really got the monopoly on good veggies over there), it’s only fully open for lunch, so you’ll have to stop by midday. Wood-Fired Chicken However, if you’re there at the right time, you can snag hot entrees with green beans on the side. Wood-fired chicken and salmon are both on the menu, as well as a grilled chicken breast on the kids’ menu. They’re hearty portions, and they feel a bit more like meals you would eat for dinner at home than theme park food. See Our Sunshine Seasons Review Here! Yak & Yeti This may seem a little unconventional, but a good stop in Disney’s Animal Kingdom is Yak & Yeti Restaurant. Here, there are quite a few entrees cooked in a wok, and most of them come with stir-fried vegetables on the side. If you’re really feeling veggie-forward, you can get the Roasted Vegetable Bowl with marinated veggies, quinoa, rice, and a vegan Sriracha aioli. Honey Chicken This is a great way to get vegetables in on your vacation without sacrificing flavor! You’re still getting a full restaurant experience with some interesting dishes. See Our Yak & Yeti Review Here! Basically Any Buffet And finally, I’ve got to shout out all the buffet restaurants around Disney World! Pretty much all of these will have a decent selection of both fruits and vegetables, as well as either a salad option or a full-scale salad bar. Now, your veggie options may be limited if you’re dining for breakfast, but lunch and dinner should be fair game. Salad bar It’s completely normal to feel a little sluggish (or get a little tummy ache) after eating fried food for several days in a row, so there’s no shame in cramming a few veggies mid-week. After you eat them, you’ll probably feel a lot more chipper…and honestly, your digestive tract will thank you. To see more great places to eat in Disney World, check out our video below! 17. One of our favorite Disney World hotel perks is set to return once again in January, and we can’t wait to hit up Magic Kingdom and EPCOT after dark! Spaceship Earth crowds during EPCOT’s Extended Evening park hours Extended Evening Hours offers two extra hours to guests staying at Disney Deluxe Tier or Deluxe Villa resorts at select theme parks on select evenings after the park closes to the general public, and there are several nights when it’s offered in January! This January, Extended Evening Hours is confirmed to be RETURNING to the Magic Kingdom and EPCOT. According to the Disney World app — the calendar of which goes out further than the Disney World website’s calendar — both parks will begin offering the perk during the first week of the month. Cinderella Castle at night The Magic Kingdom is scheduled to first offer Extended Evening Hours from 9 to 11 PM on Wednesday, January 6th and 13th… ©Disney … while EPCOT will offer them from 9 to 11 PM on Monday, January 4th and 11th. ©Disney While the calendar doesn’t extend further yet, the way that Extended Evening Hours normally work tells us that the two parks will continue to offer the perk on those two days throughout the rest of the month. 18. Hold onto your hats, friends, because something brand NEW just dropped at Universal Studios Hollywood! Universal Studios Hollywood Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift has now been open for a few months and has been a major hit, and while we did see it (sort of) added to Express Pass, that’s not the change we’re talking about. If you love visiting the parks as many times as you can, but don’t want to pay each time, you’ve likely got an Annual Pass. Now, there’s a NEW Annual Pass that has just arrived that you need to know about! This new pass is called the Diamond Annual Pass and will cost you $999.95. If you decide to purchase it online instead of in person, you’ll also save $10! So, what makes this pass different from the other Annual Passes currently available? Well, this is now the highest tiered Annual Pass, which also means it comes with the most amount of perks. With this pass, you’ll get: No blockout dates across all 12 months (a great deal if you’re planning on going near the holidays!) Universal Express Access from Park open (one-time per day) to each ride, attraction, and seated show One complimentary General Admission to Halloween Horror Nights One complimentary General Admission to Universal Fan Fest Nights One complimentary VIP Experience Ticket Free Parking in General Parking Universal Studios Hollywood Those are some AMAZING deals, especially because tickets for after hours events and VIP tours themselves can quickly add up. If you don’t want to drop all that money at once, you can also use FlexPay to pay off the pass throughout the year. You’ll make a down payment of $449.95 with 0% APR, and then you’ll pay the remaining balance over the course of the next 11 months. This comes out to about $50 a month, which is often much more affordable for most people. Universal Studios Hollywood Don’t forget that if you renew your Annual Pass, you can save 15%, which would be $849.95 for the Diamond Annual Pass — that’s over $100 worth of savings! If this isn’t the pass for you, there are also four other passes available: California Neighbor Pass ($179.95) Silver Annual Pass ($219.95) Gold Annual Pass ($299.95) Platinum Annual Pass ($599.95) Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift Want a guide to some of the Universal parks? 19. As you may know, Disney World is currently undergoing a LOT of change. But if you don’t know, don’t worry — I’ll fill you in! They’re building new lands in the parks, including Monstropolis, Piston Peak, Villains Land, and Pueblo Esperanza, reimagining attractions, and introducing a whole new dining plan! But it doesn’t stop there — changes are hitting the hotels, too! Disney’s Wilderness Lodge In 2027, changes will be hitting 10 hotels, including Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Beach Club Resort, and more! Well, another hotel has just been added to the list of refurbishments next year and beyond, and we have everything you need to know. Disney’s Wilderness Lodge has been added to the list of hotels undergoing maintenance in 2027, but that’s not all. Work has actually already started, AND this maintenance will take place through 2028! This refurbishment will take place in multiple areas throughout the next year and a half, including: Now through late 2026: Exterior refurbishment will take place at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Copper Creek Villas & Cabins. July 2027 through September 2027: Guest rooms at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge will undergo refurbishment. January 2028 through spring 2028: Copper Creek Springs Pool will undergo refurbishment. Wilderness Lodge Copper Creek As part of the current exterior maintenance at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Copper Creek Villas & Cabins, guests “may experience obstructed views in some areas and may see or hear construction during daytime hours.” Wilderness Lodge If you’re hoping to avoid the construction, there is one nearby resort that would make a great alternative since the others are also seeing some changes! This resort is Disney’s Polynesian Resort, which is located just across the Seven Seas Lagoon with boat and monorail service to the Magic Kingdom. The refurbishment to Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace is set to finish by the end of this year, so there will be minimal construction at this resort in 2027. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Now, if you’re traveling here for the holidays and hoping to see one of the most beautiful resort Christmas trees on property, don’t worry! The current project only requires exterior maintenance, so you can still admire the beautiful 60-foot-tall tree! The holiday season at Disney World OFFICIALLY begins on November 13th, so that’s when we expect the Christmas tree to be put up at the resort. Christmas Tree at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge If you’re traveling to Disney World between now and 2028, be sure to keep these construction projects in mind, so you can have a smooth and magical vacation!
