  2. There are some moments you know you’ll carry with you; this is one of them. As 50 students from the Central Florida area made their way down the purple carpet lined with community leaders and Disney VoluntEARS, you could see the excitement on their faces. It was more than a celebration. We had officially started the next chapter of the Disney Dreamers Academy! What is Disney Dreamers Academy? DDA launched in 2008 as a program dedicated to providing youth with the opportunity to learn how they can harness the power of their dreams. Since then, it has helped more than 1,800 students across the country build careers, lead communities, and mentor future Disney Dreamers. One of the things I enjoy most about Disney Dreamers Academy is how the experience can help a young person imagine new possibilities for their future. And, we wanted to find a way to bring that opportunity to even more students. A Look Inside this Next Chapter Which brings me to how we arrived here at the Walt Disney World Clubhouse of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida. This year, Disney Dreamers Academy is building on its remarkable legacy by expanding the program in a new collaboration with Boys & Girls Clubs to reach more students earlier in their journey and keep them connected to the program longer. 200 middle school Club members from Orlando, Miami, Atlanta, and Houston will become the first Disney Dreamers to be a part of this year-round, multi-year pilot program. By working with Boys & Girls Clubs, we’re able to meet students where they are and provide meaningful experiences that can support their growth over time through a mix of virtual and in-person experiences in the communities where they live and at Disney. During the program, students will discover more about themselves, build new skills and confidence, explore different careers, and meet inspiring people. And, of course, they’ll experience Disney magic along the way and even visit Walt Disney World. So, join us on this next chapter as we head to the four metropolitan areas selected for this pilot program and celebrate the participants from each city. Four Cities, One Dream As we travel to the four locations, every Disney Dreamer will be invited to a kickoff celebration filled with Disney-inspired activity stations designed to match the theme parks at Walt Disney World. Each park includes activities that encourage students to discover new interests, express their creativity, connect with other students, and meet some of their favorite Disney pals. Orlando Disney Dreamers Kick Off the Celebrations From finding their Disney Dreamer Anthem to personalizing their very own pair of Mickey ears, it was an evening of endless joy with echoes of laughter filling the gymnasium at the Walt Disney World Clubhouse. “My favorite part of the night was when Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse came to celebrate with us,” said Carlota, a Disney Dreamer. “I feel honored to be here. I’m very happy and excited for everything this program has to offer me.” This is the latest milestone in a decades-long partnership between Disney and Boys & Girls Clubs. Together, we’ve helped create meaningful learning opportunities for Central Florida youth, including after-school programs and the Club’s Rock Star Robotics Center. Let the New Chapter Commence This event was only the beginning of an exciting new chapter! Stay tuned to Disney Parks Blog as we follow these inspiring Disney Dreamers over the next few years and share highlights from our upcoming visits to Miami, Atlanta, and Houston. 4. Guten tag! If you’ve ever found yourself daydreaming about the delightful flavors of EPCOT’s Germany Pavilion after a well-deserved Disney World vacation, you’re not alone. In between bites of bratwurst doused with sauerkraut and refreshing sips of ice-cold German beer, this charming corner of EPCOT has become well-known for its hearty cuisine, refreshing brews, and lively traditions. It’s also the place to celebrate Oktoberfest at Disney World, with several locations offering year-round, savory flavors and German pours that will transport you straight to the heart of Bavaria. This year, Germany’s beloved Schinkennudeln dish is back as part of Emile’s Fromage Montage during the 2026 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival. In honor of this fan-favorite festival’s 30th anniversary, this cheesy pasta dish is one of 30 items that have returned or been reimagined from years past, giving you another chance to enjoy a longtime EPCOT classic. Pair this with a German beer, save room for apple strudel, and you’ll have a tasting experience that will blow your mind. If you’re ready to recreate this favorite plate at home, get ready to grab your ingredients and take a look at the recipe below. Schinkennudeln Recipe Makes 8-10 servings Ingredients 2 cups heavy cream 2 eggs 1/4 teaspoon salt Pinch of ground white pepper Pinch of nutmeg 1/2 cup Swiss cheese, shredded 1/2 cup white cheddar cheese, shredded 1 pound cooked elbow macaroni Optional 2 cups diced ham Directions Preheat oven to 375°F. Spray a 16- x 9-inch baking dish with nonstick spray. Whisk together cream, eggs, salt, pepper, and nutmeg in a large bowl. Toss cheeses together in a small bowl until combined; remove 1 cup cheese and set aside. Stir remaining cheeses into cream mixture. Cook macaroni until just tender; drain and add cream mixture, stirring immediately. Pour mixture into prepared baking dish. Cover with foil. Bake 30 minutes. Remove foil and sprinkle reserved cheese over top of noodles. Bake 15 minutes longer. Cool 10 minutes before cutting into squares. Serve warm. To add protein to this dish, add 2 cups of diced ham to the macaroni mixture before baking. Germany has long been one of my favorite culinary corners around World Showcase, especially when grabbing a bite to eat and just enjoying the atmosphere and ambience in this special area of the park. If you are making this delightful dish at home during this year’s Oktoberfest, be sure to share your culinary creations with #DisneyEats. 6. One of our favorite bars in Disney World just got a NEW drink, but you need to know a secret password to get it! Look at this! La Cava del Tequila, located in the Mexico Pavilion at EPCOT, just dropped a new drink and, of course, we’re going to try it and take you along with us — so, let’s go! The new drink offering is the La Ofrenda Margarita, but it’s only here for a limited time. The drink is available starting today and will be available through the first week of November. What’s fun about this one is that you need a secret password in order to order the drink, which is “Rest in Peace”. La Ofrenda Margarita The drink contains Bozal Cempasúchil Mezcal, Dos Hombres Reposado, and Weber Ranch Vodka, with tart pitaya fruit and a touch of pumpkin spice. It was excellent and pretty sweet. It went down really smoothly and didn’t have the burn that we expected it to. We couldn’t really taste the pumpkin spice, but the other flavors are very delicious, especially the Pitaya. We would definitely try this again! You need to try this! La Cava is also home to over 200 tequilas and unique margaritas, as well as a few appetizing ‘tapas-style’ snacks. It’s a fan favorite place to grab a drink, whether you’re drinking around the world or not. Some of their most popular drinks include the Avocado Margarita for $21. This is made with Dos Hombres mezcal or Flecha Azul tequila, melon-orange liqueur, fresh avocado, lime juice, and a hibiscus salt rim. The Avocado Margarita Another favorite is the Cucumber Margarita for $19, which is made with Tromba blanco tequila, fresh cucumber and lime juice, Abasolo corn whiskey, and a Tajín chile-lime powder rim. You can also make it spicy for $2 more! The Cucumber Margarita If you’re visiting EPCOT any time soon and are interested in trying this drink, be sure to grab it because it’s only here for a limited time! 7. This small Disney World hotel addition is a seriously HUGE deal for us! Animal Kingdom Lodge When we stay at a Disney World hotel, there are some things we count on looking forward to each time, from ultra-detailed theming to on-site perks. Now, don’t get us wrong, those things are still awesome. But on our recent stay at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, the thing that thrilled us the MOST was a seemingly tiny addition in our hotel bathroom! Animal Kingdom Lodge has TONS of major selling points, like the incredible dining options, gorgeous decor, and, of course, those breathtaking savanna views, complete with live animals! Animal Kingdom Lodge And in between marveling at all of the regular hotel features, on our recent stay, we also noticed that our hotel bathroom now came equipped with BOTH bar soap and pump soap! As lots of longtime Disney World visitors have been painfully aware, for a loooooong stretch of time, Disney World hotel rooms only had bar hand soap. Ya know, sometimes it’s the little things that make a HUGE difference in our experience, so we were THRILLED to see this change…and we weren’t the only ones! Pump soap AND bar soap! We shared a post about the soap update on Instagram, and we got TONS of comments from people equally excited about the change, like @j0ooyyyy, who said, “I used to pack my own pump soap lmao.” No more need to pack your own! Seriously, SO many people chimed in sharing their excitement, like @michelaine22, who said, “I am so grateful for the pump soap! I hate the bars!” It just goes to show that the magic really does come from the details! Welcome, pump soap, we’re THRILLED you’re here! Some people also commented to share that they stayed at other Disney World hotels recently that also had BOTH pump and bar soap, including Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, and Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, so it seems like Animal Kingdom Lodge definitely isn’t the only one that’s been treated to the upgrade! Caribbean Beach Resort There are soooo many big changes happening around the Disney World hotels, from LOTS of ongoing construction and resort refurbishments… Grand Floridian Monorail station construction …to the new Hurly-Burly lounge that JUST opened in the old Jellyrolls building on October 1st… Hurly-Burly …to the brand-new Disney Vacation Club hotel Lakeshore Lodge, opening in 2027! Lakeshore Lodge And yes, even with all these HUGE updates happening around the hotels, we still stand by our statement that the addition of pump soap IS that big of a deal!! (And the Instagram comments agree…) We’re constantly on the lookout for changes and new additions all around Disney World, so stick with us at DFB for the latest news! 8. Disney fans have a reason to head to ALDI next week…11 reasons, in fact! ALDI has the best finds! On October 7th, ALDI is going to have 11 Disney finds that are perfect for your little ones. From costumes to craft books, you’re going to want to check these out. Not to mention, we can find good reasons why you’ll want these for a Disney World vacation this month. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Starting on October 7th, you’ll be able to grab these Ghost Spider costume pieces, including a mask and a cape. We’re seriously stunned at the price these are listed at, and the costumes don’t stop there. ©ALDI Of course, you can’t have Ghost Spider and not Spider-Man! Spider-Man has always been one of the most, if not the most, popular superheroes in the world. After Spider-Man: Brand New Day came out this year, we’re imagining a lot of kiddos will be dressing up as him this year. ©ALDI There are more costume pieces coming to ALDI, including the Hulk and Miles Morales. We’re thinking all of these would make for great costumes to bring to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. They’re very cheap, they don’t come with many pieces, making them easy to pack, and they’re easy to remove if your kiddo doesn’t want to wear them at the party anymore. ©ALDI Get Marvel Costumes on Amazon ©Amazon If you don’t have an ALDI near you, you can order this Marvel Spider-Man Youth Cape Set! They’re just like the costumes coming to ALDI, but this set comes with Ghost Spider, Venom, Spider-Man, and Miles Morales. They also have different masks than the ALDI costumes. The set is currently 7% off, and it’s a great price for four outfits! view ON AMAZON Some other fun Disney finds coming to ALDI are these Magic Ink Books. You can get Hello Kitty and Paw Patrol themes, but our eyes are on Mickey and Friends, as well as Stitch. They’re all Halloween-themed, so they fit the vibe of the season. ©ALDI There are a couple more we really liked, including this Beetlejuice one and this Bluey one. You know we’re suckers for Bluey, so we thought the one with the Heelers in their Halloween costumes was adorable. ©ALDI There’s this Magic Ink Book as well! ©Amazon If ALDI isn’t an option for you, you can grab this Nightmare Before Christmas Imagine Ink Coloring Book! It doesn’t get more Halloween than the classic Tim Burton film. The book comes with 16 pages, and while it’s not as cheap as the ALDI options, it’s still a GREAT price! view ON AMAZON We’re always on the hunt for what’s coming to ALDI, so make sure to follow us at the Disney Food Blog for even more finds! 9. Every day, there’s a ton of Disney news that ends up all over the Internet, and it’s honestly often hard to discern what’s real, what’s speculation, and what’s just a rumor. There are SO many sites covering Disney news, too, that sometimes you don’t know who to trust. But you can trust us because we make sure we’re doing everything we can to give you the REAL news and honest facts. ©Disney Well, this week, some Disney rumors started hitting the Internet, and although some seem like they may be true, they’re not, while others are oversimplifying more complex announcements. So let’s take a look at what we’ve heard this week and figure out what’s what. Matterhorn to be torn down and rebuilt? FAKE We’re starting with the wildest thing we heard about this week. A rumor is spreading that Disneyland’s Matterhorn Bobsleds will be completely torn down and relocated as part of the Tomorrowland update project. Disney has confirmed that Tomorrowland will be reimagined, but the Matterhorn bit? Well, that’s just pretty much a rumor that someone came up with because the new version of Tomorrowland might need more space, and the Matterhorn is in the way. Matterhorn Bobsleds Now, some have previously speculated that Matterhorn needs some kind of SOMETHING to make it smoother, as it is one of the roughest rides in Disneyland. But completely tearing it down to rebuild it? That seems like a bit MUCH, even given the budget Disneyland has for new lands and upgrades. A refurbishment might happen at some point. But completely moving the ride? Well, it’s not likely. But then again, we also thought Disney would never fix the Yeti on Expedition Everest, and here we are. Stranger things have happened. Disney shutting down Expedition Everest? REAL (Sort Of) Yes, there was a reason we just mentioned Expedition Everest because there is a rumor that the ride will be shutting down after 20 years. So here’s the thing: yes, Disney did say that it was fixing the Yeti on the ride, and from what we’ve learned about the technical issues that might revolve around fixing that animatronic, the ride will need to close…and it could be a pretty long closure. Expedition Everest So, technically, this is true, but not in the sense the initial rumor suggested. Expedition Everest will close, but it will reopen later with a brand new and (hopefully) working Yeti animatronic. Disney has not confirmed when the ride’s closure will take place, but we might guess it will happen after Pueblo Esperanza, the new land coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, opens in 2027. Disney is buying Bluey? TBD So another rumor we’ve seen circulating is that Disney will be buying the rights to Bluey. Now, Disney has already collaborated with Ludo Studio to bring Bluey to the parks, but this rumor popped up after Dana Walden, Disney’s president and chief creative officer, said she “would offer a lot of money” to Bluey’s creator, Joe Brumm, according to Bloomberg. Bluey in Disney’s Animal Kingdom However, the full quote was more about Disney’s current relationship with the BBC, Bluey’s producer. What she said was this: “We have a great relationship with the BBC. We have been able to make great sense of this partnership, and Joe Brumm, who I would offer a lot of money to. He’s extraordinary and I will not let him get further off the Disney lot than he is currently.” However, that’s all that’s been said, and there’s nothing coming from Disney stating that buying Bluey is actually in the works. Star Wars X, the next Skywalker Saga? TBD Now the rumor about a new trilogy in the Skywalker Saga is a bit more complex than just the fact that a new Skywalker Saga is on the way. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jon Watts, who directed the Tom Holland Spider-Man movies, is attached to direct the first installment of a new Star Wars trilogy written by Simon Kinberg. ©Disney So here’s what we know: in 2023, Disney announced a Star Wars movie directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy that would bring back Daisy Ridley as Rey. That film was supposed to pick up after the events of The Rise of Skywalker. However, if this is that same movie, a lot of the details have changed, including the director. Star Wars X, as folks are now calling it, is reportedly the next chapter in the Skywalker Saga, which means Rey could still appear in it. Now, here’s the thing: Lucasfilm has not confirmed a Star Wars X movie or trilogy, and nothing has been greenlit by Disney. We’ll be on the lookout for more Disney rumors and keep you updated, so stay tuned to DFB for more. 10. A brand-new restaurant has opened at Disney World, and we think it’ll be popular! We’re ready to EAT! Hurly-Burly at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn has replaced the former Jellyrolls building and brings new eats, drinks, and entertainment. We’ve been waiting and waiting for this space to come back to life, and we’re taking you with us to check out the new building and everything it has to offer. Atmosphere You can find Hurly-Burly on Disney’s BoardWalk, which means it’s only a few steps away from EPCOT’s International Gateway entrance. You can park at EPCOT and walk through the park to the entrance if you have an EPCOT ticket, or park at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and use the Skyliner to the International Gateway. Other options include walking over from Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts, and walking or taking the boat from The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort. Hurly-Burly The setup for Hurly-Burly is a little different than we’ve seen with other Disney restaurants. The restaurant is welcoming the entire family, including kids, from opening until 9 PM. After 9 PM, though, guests must be 21 or older and have a valid ID to enter. During the day, a host will lead games and activities (we got to see trivia that was pretty hard!), and at night, the Hurly-Burly will come alive with musical acts taking the stage, with genres changing nightly. Inside Hurly-Burly Everything has a bit of a coastal flair with the 1920s vibes. When we arrived early in the day, it was raining pretty hard, so there were usually only about one or two groups waiting to be seated. Even when the rain died down, people were trickling in, so crowds didn’t seem too intense. However, around 5 PM, the waitlist on the My Disney Experience App was full, and if you came in person and waited to get a text from the host, your wait time was about an hour. Nighttime entertainment The same was the case when we stopped by again right before 9 PM, so it certainly seems like the late afternoon and evening hours are the most popular right now. If you’re trying to get a reservation on the day of (instead of booking in advance), we recommend stopping by at least an hour early to get your name on the list. However, we did have an interesting experience that we’re partly assuming may be the fact that we were a party of one — when we put our name on the list at 8:28 PM, we were told our wait time would be an hour. So, imagine our surprise when we got a text in the SAME minute saying that our table was ready! Our text! Enough about the space, let’s see what’s on the menu! Menu The Hurly-Burly menu blends coastal 1920s flavors and styles with Small Bites, with options like Antipasto, Tomato Pie, and Mini Pretzels. Menu! You can also grab multiple Beer options, as well as Wines, Cocktails, and some Mocktail options for those who don’t drink. Menu at the bar outside Now that we know what’s on the menu, we’re starving, so let’s eat! Eats We took it upon ourselves to try nearly the WHOLE menu to bring you our full thoughts, so get ready! We dug into the Tomato Pie first, which is made with Focaccia, tomato sauce, oregano, and Pecorino Romano for $11. Tomato Pie This is a very simple dish but well executed! The tomato sauce isn’t overly sweet, and there’s just enough Parmesan and herbs to bring some balance. The bread itself is so pillowy and soft, which we adored. Now, we don’t think this will be a hit with everyone, since there may be some who don’t understand it. It isn’t a pie in any sense of the word, but it is a very tasty bar snack to go with your cocktails. We do feel it’s a little pricey for 4-ounce pieces of bread topped with tomato sauce, but if you’re looking for something simple yet delicious, we’d recommend it! Simple, yet delicious! We also got to try the Vegan Tomato Pie later in the night, which is also $11. This was just as delicious as when we had it the first time, and we’re so glad there’s a vegan version available! Again, some people may not like that it’s called a pie and certainly isn’t a pie in the slightest, but the focaccia was still soft and pillowy, and we felt the flavors still blended well together. Vegan Tomato Pie The Oven-Roasted Shrimp is served with garlic, herbs, and sweet pepper-onion relish and will cost you $19. Oven-Roasted Shrimp These were one of our favorite bites of the night! The shrimp are so well cooked, seeing as they have a pleasant bite to them and aren’t mushy at all, and there’s a beautiful acidic flavor coming from the onion pepper relish. These taste really fresh and light and full of herbaceous flavor. We appreciate that these are butterflied, and it’s clear they’re prepared with a lot of care. Amazing! The Antipasto on the menu will cost you $21 and is made of sliced meats, Burrata, Pecorino Romano, and marinated vegetables. This is very well put together — the burrata is so smooth and creamy, and the balsamic that tops it brings a nice acidic balance to the super creamy, rich texture. Our favorite bite on the plate was the burrata with the crostini, because the crunch of the grilled bread was the perfect pairing. The mortadella with pistachios was our second favorite. The meat is super rich, and having the flavor of pistachio adds a great balance. It’s pretty costly, though, so we can easily see how it won’t be for everyone. Antipasto The Mini Pretzels with Bacon-Cheese Fondue will cost you $12. These are the same pretzels you’ll find in many other bars and lounges, so they’re not anything super special. The texture is good with the right amount of salt, but these seem to be the most boring selection on the menu. The beer cheese sauce is the star here as it’s super flavorful and topped with chopped scallions. If you really love pretzels, it may be for you, but otherwise, we feel there are better options out there. Mini Pretzels with Bacon-Cheese Fondue The Meatballs in Tomato Gravy are $15 and are veal, pork, and beef meatballs with tomato gravy, stracciatella cheese, Pecorino Romano, and toasted focaccia. Meatballs in Tomato Gravy These are tasty and mild enough for all members of your party. We feel that kids will find comfort in the classic meatballs, and the bread is a great pairing, especially since you can use it to dip into the remainder of the sauce afterwards. These meatballs are fresh and tender instead of tasting like they were frozen and reheated. The sauce is extremely mild with a slight sweet aftertaste, so you can consider us fans! A really great pairing This also comes in a vegan version! The Vegan Meatballs in Tomato Gravy are also $15 and were so incredibly solid. The meatballs were delicious and almost frighteningly realistic. They were so well seasoned and moist, and the sauce was so delicious that they tasted authentically meaty. Of course, they were completely vegan, and we appreciate them providing this alternative. They’re served with the same crostini on the side, and we loved it just as much as we did the first time around. Vegan Meatballs in Tomato Gravy Theater Concessions will cost you $12, and this is a trio of meatballs, sugar cookie, and buttered popcorn. This is like it was designed for the kids! It’s simple in the best way. Will it knock your socks off? No, definitely not, but the meatballs are fresh, the cookie was soft and delicious, and who doesn’t love popcorn? Theater Concessions The Roast Beef Sliders are also available for $17, and these are shaved roast beef and horseradish-mustard sour cream on slider rolls. Roast Beef Sliders This is another one of our favorite items here. The bun is soft, and the roast beef is easy to bite through. Not to mention, it’s a pleasant pink color, whereas we find a lot of roast beef to be a more unappetizing gray. The biggest surprise here is that there are caramelized onions on this, so keep that in mind when you order, since it’s not listed on the menu! We’d absolutely get these again, though we would personally ask for an additional side of that horseradish-mustard sour cream. So good! Finally, the Mini Apple Cider Doughnuts are $11, and these are served with miso-caramel sauce. Mini Apple Cider Doughnuts These looked a little underwhelming to us at first, but we were pleasantly surprised! You can actually taste the apple cider, which isn’t the case for a lot of apple cider treats. Are they the best donuts we’ve ever had? Well, no, but on an otherwise savory menu, they’re a really nice sweet option. We love this caramel sauce! We think the miso caramel sauce was an incredible addition, because the miso helps cut down on the sweetness, so it wasn’t too overpowering. They’re nothing to write home about, but they’re solid if you want something sweet! Drinks We decided to snag one of the mocktails on the menu, the Cherry Marquee! This is Minute Maid Premium Lemonade blended with Amarena cherries and garnished with a gourmet cherry, and it will cost you $6.49. This was a really pleasant nonalcoholic offering that didn’t go over the top with syrupy sweetness. Somehow, adding cherry to Minute Maid Premium Lemonade didn’t push it into Jolly Rancher territory. That’s why “pleasant” feels like a revolutionary word here. It’s definitely sweet, but it’s completely drinkable. An adult who isn’t drinking alcohol could have more than one without feeling like they’d have a horrible sugar hangover in the morning. Cherry Marquee We also grabbed the Caramel Corn Old Fashioned for $21. This is made with Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon, caramel corn, and The Bitter Truth Decanter Bitters. Caramel Corn Old Fashioned This has the classic flavors of an Old Fashioned, but it’s not overly sweet. This is a very smooth cocktail with no burn, and we loved the caramel corn that comes on the side. It tastes like it might be house-made — it’s the perfect caramel corn, sweet and crunchy without being too much. A really solid drink! We’re not totally sure the flavors go perfectly together, so we found ourselves spacing out munching on the caramel corn with taking sips of the drink, but overall, we’re fans of this drink! Nosh or Not You should head to Hurly-Burly if… You’re looking for a fun, themed bar with lots of space. This is a big space with a lot of seating. It’s very well decorated, and the story and theming feel very at home with the BoardWalk. The best part of the theme is the bulletin board by the bathrooms. There are tons of “old papers” from Polly’s dressing room, including letters and notes to other boardwalk characters, and 1930s ads for other BoardWalk spots. You need a late-night bite. This spot is open until 1 AM, so if you’ve just left an After Hours event in the parks, or you’ve participated in Extended Evening Hours and want to stop somewhere to eat, this is a great choice if your party is 21+. You want an outdoor bar with an amazing view. To us, the outdoor part of the bar is literally a stroke of genius. The vibe is not Pleasure Island or Atlantic Dance Hall. It’s not a rager. You’re sitting down in the newest environment in Walt Disney World, and it’s really beautiful. It uses the original space ingeniously and transports you to another place. Even though it’s set in current times, it feels like it takes you to a different time, too. There’s a disorienting onslaught of music, switching rapid-fire through decades and centuries, that makes you forget what year it is, if only for a moment. You might want to skip if… You want a genuine nightlife experience. We definitely think this is the final true blow to anything resembling true nightlife in Disney World. The tables are too close together that there’s nowhere to dance or stand with your drink and chat. It’s very much a seated lounge, like the many others you’ll find around Disney World. You’re not a fan of live entertainment or live music. During the day, you’ll find activities like trivia happening in a 30 minutes on/30 minutes off situation, and each night, you’ll get to hear amazing live music by numerous different groups, such as the Siren Sisters, who we got to see during our visit (and they were fantastic!). If you’re looking for a lounge where you can easily talk with your group without having to raise your voice, though, this may not be for you. You’ve got really picky people in your group, kids or adults. While the menu here does have some options that are good for pickier eaters, it’s not the most expansive. Overall We’re really big fans of this new spot, that’s for sure! We can see this place becoming very popular once people understand what it is, so we’ve put it all together in just a few sentences to try and relay how awesome it really is. You’re coming to a Disney World lounge with live music. There’s no time limit and no drink minimum or maximum. They have a full bar, so you can order whatever you want, but they also have fun signature cocktails and a small bites menu, some of which are cooked in the kitchen over at Trattoria al Forno, which is part of why it’s as delicious as it is. Hurly-Burly We feel especially that this spot is a massive upgrade in terms of environment, especially with how much story has been added to the venue. The outdoor bar is worth its weight in gold! The fact that you can come and sit outside without having to do the walk up list is such a great touch and seems immediately popular. The fact that it’s open till 1 AM gives night owls a place to eat and drink in Disney World too, which is rare around the resort. The outdoor bar is everything to us! We’re still dreaming about our experience at Hurly-Burly and already planning our next visit, but in the meantime, keep following Disney Food Blog for more food reviews you need to know for your next Disney World vacation. 11. We talk about dining reservations a lot here at DFB, but there are plenty of other offerings that you can reserve in advance in Disney World, and one of them has to do with getting a haircut. YES! You can really get your hair cut in the Magic Kingdom! Magic Kingdom at Disney World When you’re 60 days out from your trip, you can also reserve a variety of behind-the-scenes tours, book your appointment at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, or get a time slot to go build a lightsaber or droid in Galaxy’s Edge. But one of the most popular reservations that goes FAST is Harmony Barber Shop in Magic Kingdom. Harmony Barber Shop is located on Main Street, U.S.A. in the Town Square area near the front of the park. It’s tucked away behind The Emporium, and many folks walk right past it when they’re entering Magic Kingdom. But for lots of Disney fans, it’s a tradition to get a haircut here! Harmony Barber Shop The barber shop typically operates from 9 AM to 4:45 PM each day, and you can get reservations throughout that window. They offer child haircuts, adult haircuts, beard trims, and of course, the ever-popular first haircut package! I recently got the chance to take my son to get his first haircut there, and I managed to do it WITHOUT a reservation. ©Disney Before my trip, I made my dining reservations on time, but I didn’t think about the possibility of getting my son’s hair cut until we were a few weeks out from the trip and his bangs were starting to tickle his nose. When I checked at that time, reservations were all gone, and I nearly gave up hope. However, on the day of my visit, I entered the park at 8:15 AM to do Early Theme Park Entry (which started at 8:30 AM) and found that the barber shop seemed to be open. Harmony Barber Shop Cast Member When I stepped inside, the Cast Members greeted me cheerfully and told me they were, indeed, open! I asked about walk-up availability throughout the day, and they told me that it could vary, but the best time to get a haircut was RIGHT THEN. We were the first customers of the day, and there was no wait, considering it wasn’t even time for the reservations to start. The whole haircut process took ten minutes, and we were done before Early Entry even began! Harmony Barber Shop During the first haircut process, they had my son sit on my lap, and the Cast Member entertained him with light-up toys and stickers. They wet his hair a little bit (they don’t do shampoo for any of the cuts here, so you’ll need to arrive with clean, dry hair) and snipped away to trim those extra-long pieces. They followed my hairstyle requests exactly and even wrapped up his first-snipped hairs in a piece of tissue paper for me to take home! Ready to cut some hair! Perhaps the cutest part of the process is the gift you get. You’ll leave with a first haircut certificate with your child’s name and a pair of classic Mickey ears that have “My 1st Haircut” embroidered on the back. The little hairs went inside a drawstring bag, and we got a Mickey Mouse sticker as well. SO STINKIN’ CUTE and only $28! First Haircut This was an incredible experience that I definitely won’t forget, and it was made even better by the fact that it didn’t eat up any of our park day! So, if you’re hoping to squeeze in a haircut, try going first thing in the morning to save some time. I highly recommend it! Stay tuned to DFB for more tips for Disney World. 13. An upcoming fireworks change could impact your future Magic Kingdom plans! Happily Ever After If catching Happily Ever After is on your Magic Kingdom to-do list this fall, you’ll want to double-check your plans. Starting next week, there’s a shift in the time of the beloved fireworks show, and you’ll want to take note! Happily Ever After is the nighttime fireworks show in Magic Kingdom, complete with lights, lasers, and projection effects. It takes place most evenings (although it may not be performed if the park is scheduled to close early for a special event that day), and the showtime typically fluctuates throughout different times of the year depending on daylight hours and park operating hours. Happily Ever After Beginning October 5th, Happily Ever After will start at 9 PM on nights when Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is not taking place. That schedule will continue throughout October, so if you’re visiting on a non-party night, plan to be in position a bit earlier than you might have expected. This change doesn’t affect party nights, so if you’re attending Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, your party-night plans stay the same. Just be sure you know which kind of night you’re visiting on before you map out your evening. Magic Kingdom Fireworks Cruise View Then, starting November 1st, Happily Ever After will move to an 8 PM start time. That earlier showtime could be a win for families with little ones who struggle to stay up late, and it may leave some extra time after the show for one more ride or one last treat before heading back to your hotel. Happily Ever After With either change, it’s a good idea to revisit any dinner reservations you’ve booked near the fireworks. A later dinner that worked for your original plan might now overlap with the show, and you don’t want to be halfway through your entrée when the first burst lights up the sky. It’s also a smart move to grab your snacks before you stake out your viewing spot, since the crowds around Main Street, U.S.A. can make it tough to get around once people start settling in. Happily Ever After in Magic Kingdom To sum it up, Happily Ever After moves to 9 PM on non-party nights starting October 5th, then shifts to 8 PM beginning November 1st. Keep these times in mind as you plan your evenings at Magic Kingdom this fall, and stay tuned to DFB for more Disney news, updates, and all the latest eats from around the parks! 17. The wait is FINALLY OVER! Disney’s BoardWalk has officially welcomed a NEW lounge, and we couldn’t wait to stop by! The Hurly-Burly! The BoardWalk has been undergoing a massive change, adding new shopping, dining, and entertainment locations! Among those changes is a brand-new lounge called Hurly-Burly, which we were most excited about. Now, we finally got the chance to check it out, and we’re bringing you inside with us! Ever since the popular dueling piano bar Jellyrolls closed, we have been WAITING for its replacement. The time has finally come, as Hurly-Burly is officially open. Disney describes the lounge as a place where you can “step inside this historic seaside theater, once the home of the BoardWalk’s most celebrated vaudeville performers. Now, nearly a hundred years later, Hurly-Burly is opening its doors once again with entertainment offerings, vintage drinks and lite bites inspired by an era of world-class performances and nautical novelty.” Hurly-Burly The theming is very much on par with Disney’s description, as you’re met with oceanic details, vintage-style seating, and lively and interactive entertainment. You’ll first be welcomed to the Hurly-Burly Theatre, which includes seaside details like seaweed, shells, and pearls. Welcome to the Hurly-Burly Theatre! And inside, you’ll find several decorations giving nods to the sea, including a large trident hanging on the wall, as well as different kinds of posters and vintage posters! Hurly-Burly Decor For seating, you’ll have a couple of options. You could be seated at a table with cushioned chairs… Hurly-Burly Tables … or at a booth completed with velvet backs. Either way, EXTREMELY comfortable! Hurly-Burly Booths In terms of entertainment, we first took part in trivia! It was hard enough that only FOUR groups got all 10 questions right, but the questions were still recognizable enough that kids and the whole family could still enjoy! We then played a quick game of higher or lower, and after that, we took part in some music trivia! And there was also some audience interaction where the host asked people where they’re from! And the prize? Bragging rights, of course! Disney’s Hurly-Burly Lounge will have lively activities in the afternoons, such as trivia and games for the whole family. Once 9 PM hits, it will be available for guests ages 21 and up. The entertainment will be on for 30 minutes and off for 30 minutes. One of the live acts at Hurly-Burly The new dining spot is also going to have a walk-up window for select beverages. So, if you’re going for a stroll down Disney’s BoardWalk, you can stop by Hurly-Burly’s window for a quick grab-and-go drink! The Hurly-Burly Walk-Up Window! The walk-up window opens at 11 AM and closes with the lounge at 1 AM. Here, you can find a litany of drinks, including both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options: Alcoholic Beverages: The Atlantic Review: Hangar One Mandarin Blossom Vodka, Cointreau Liqueur, Minute Maid Orange Juice, and Sprite Bubble Brava!: Chinola Passion Fruit Liqueur, Italian Amaro, lemon juice, and Viarae Prosecco La Taquilla Picante: Ghost Blanco Tequila, lime juice, orgeat, rose water, and a spiced nutmeg rim Cherry-Vodka Limeade: Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Amarena cherry, and cold-pressed lime juice Off-book Bramble: Fords Gin, Combier Crème de Mûre Liqueur, lemon juice, and blackberry Caramel Corn Old Fashioned: Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon, caramel corn, and The Bitter Truth Decanter Bitters Non-Alcoholic Specialty Beverages: Caramel Corn Cold Brew: Joffrey’s Cold Brew Coffee topped with caramel sweet cream and caramel popcorn Cherry Marquee: Minute Maid Premium Lemonade blended with Amarena cherries and garnished with a gourmet cherry Hurly-Burly Walk-Up Window Menu The walk-up window also offers a selection of beer and wine. For beer, guests have nine options to choose from, including four from the Atlantic Coast Favorite section and five from the Classic Selections section. For wine, there are several options of sparkling, whites, rosés, and reds to choose from. Hurly-Burly Walk-Up Window Menu Now, who is Hurly-Burly really FOR? Jellyrolls had a very specific crowd when it was open on the BoardWalk. Think businessmen wanting to wind down with a drink after a long day, Cast Members on their nights off, and just guests who want to escape the chaos that is the Disney World theme parks. But there is one problem: Parking. Hurly-Burly Hurly-Burly runs on a walk-up waitlist system, which means there are NO reservations. Typically, this means guests wouldn’t be able to park at the resort since they’re either not staying there or they don’t have a valid dining reservation. And since this spot is open so late, transportation to and from the parks will not be running at the time Hurly-Burly closes. We were able to park at the BoardWalk on opening day, which may show some leniency, so it’s possible that Disney will be more lax with people who want to visit this spot; however, that’s not a guarantee. Hurly-Burly Menu We’re so happy that Hurly-Burly is officially open! Make sure to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog so you don’t miss all the latest Disney news and updates. Hurly-Burly is located on Disney’s BoardWalk, where Jellyrolls used to be. This new spot officially opened October 1st, and here, Disney is inviting guests to “step inside this historic seaside theater, once the home of the BoardWalk’s most celebrated vaudeville performers.” In the story Disney has crafted, it’s opening its doors for the first time in about 100 years. Come with us to check out their walk-up window for the first time! The walk-up window at Hurly-Burly opens at 11 AM and is located on the left side of the Hurly-Burly entrance. 20. Okay, BoardWalk fans, we need to talk. After almost 30 years, the Jellyrolls piano bar closed in the spring of 2025, and ever since, the BoardWalk has had a Jellyrolls-shaped hole in its heart (and its nightlife). Well, that hole has finally been filled (sort of)! Hurly-Burly is officially open in the former Jellyrolls space, and while we’re thrilled, we have to say we’re a little confused. Hurly-Burly So what IS Hurly-Burly? Picture a historic seaside theater that was once home to the BoardWalk’s most celebrated vaudeville performers, complete with a glowing marquee and a teal exterior that’s impossible to miss on the promenade. But we just have one question for our buddy, CEO Josh D’Amaro: who is Hurly-Burly actually for?! So, here’s the thing. Jellyrolls had a very specific crowd when it was open on the BoardWalk. We’re talking dudes in suits who just wanted to unwind with a drink after being at a convention all day (disinterested, drunk, rich dudes), Cast Members on free Cast Member night (exhausted turkey leg salespeople), and weirdos like AJ who sat in the back trying to edit photos on their computers (okay, maybe she was literally the only one doing that, but the point still stands). Welcome to the Hurly-Burly Theatre And while we love a random, 1930s-inspired trivia den/21 and over cabaret, since Disney has become more and more strict about parking at the resorts without a reservation, and there are no reservations at Hurly-Burly, we’re wondering who is actually going to go there. Disney did just close Atlantic Dance Hall (RIP) to the public, so maybe the people who frequented that spot will migrate on over, and while those two guys are probably cool, it’s not like the Dance Hall had a line out the door every night. Or any night, for that matter. One of the live acts at Hurly-Burly Listen, we’re thrilled that the BoardWalk finally has more nightlife, and since Hurly-Burly will be open until 1 AM, it certainly qualifies; we’re just wondering who will actually show up to frequent this spot. Considering that Disney transportation only runs for an hour and a half after the parks close, it’s not like people will be able to leave their cars at the parks and hop on a bus after Hurly-Burly closes to head back to their cars. Overture in Orange Interestingly enough, we were able to park at the BoardWalk on Hurly-Burly’s opening day even though we didn’t have a hotel or dining reservation, so it’s possible that Disney will be more lax with people who want to visit this spot. That’s not a guarantee, though, so if you’re looking at visiting Hurly-Burly, your best bet is to use Disney transportation — as long as you plan to make it back to your car or hotel before the buses or Skyliner are done running for the night. Of course, Disney isn’t going to let you get stranded, and Cast Members will do everything in their power to make sure you get back “home” — or at least to your car. 22. When it comes to dining at Disney World, you’ve got a TON of options. Want something quick and easy? You’ve got it. Something middle of the road and comforting? Yep, that too. And if you’re looking for something upscale and luxurious, you can find that as well. Turf Club Bar & Grill We recently stopped by the newly reopened Turf Club Bar & Grill to see if anything had changed after the refurbishment, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. In the past, we’ve ranked this spot pretty low on our list of Disney World hotel restaurants, but has that changed? Is it worth a stop on your next trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth? Find out here! Atmosphere The Turf Club Bar and Grill is inspired by turn-of-the-century Upstate New York and racing culture. This is super prominent in the newly refurbished restaurant, which features a new raised ceiling with wooden beams and vintage light fixtures, along with new ceiling light panels and refreshed carpeting as well. The new ceiling and lights! The indoor seating area is refined with dark woods and forest greens, though it’s not at all stuffy. A covered outdoor seating area also boasts views of Lake Buena Vista. Head here if you love horse races, golf, or just relaxing away from the crowds. It’s not a “destination” restaurant, but the food is tasty, and the service is great. Outdoor patio But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu This relaxing restaurant in Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort offers a variety of standard American fare for dinner, including pasta dishes, salads, seafood appetizers, steaks, and chops during dinner hours. The menu got a whole refresh along with the restaurant itself, so we were excited to try some of the new items. Turf Club new menu Of course, there are plenty of desserts, too, including Chocolate-Hazelnut Cake and Apple Tart. You’ll also find a full menu of cocktails, wine, and beer, too, in addition to soft drinks, tea, and coffee. Dessert menu And now, onto the main event — the food! Drinks To kick things off, we grabbed the new Saratoga Cocktail for $21. This is made with Michter’s Single Barrel Rye Whiskey, Courvoisier VS Cognac, Carpano Antica Sweet Vermouth, and The Bitter Truth Decanter Bitters. Saratoga Cocktail This cocktail looks like it should pack a punch, but it is remarkably smooth. The Courvoisier leaves a balanced sweetness on the palate that tames the rye, so there’s no hint of a burn. There are lovely notes of citrus throughout. This is a perfect sipping cocktail. Eats Dinner service began with complimentary Parker House rolls, which were pretty standard. They were warm and fluffy, and were served with butter — what’s not to love? Parker House Rolls Next, we ordered the Golden-fried Calamari with Shishito Peppers for $19. This dish is served with toasted sesame aïoli and sweet chili-lime sauce. Golden-fried Calamari with Shishito Peppers The calamari is incredibly light and perfectly fried, with just enough coating to make it super crunchy. The sesame-based sauce gives you a little taste of the ocean with pleasant sesame undertones, and the rings aren’t chewy at all. The scallions add a nice crunch and a touch of freshness. The peppers play a bit of roulette: only about one in ten is actually spicy. The one we got was sweet and perfectly cooked, with the fresh crunch you want when you bite into a pepper. This is a delicious starter, and we would order it again. Be aware that if you’re not a fan of tentacles, there are some on the plate, but not so many that you can’t avoid them, especially if you have a more adventurous dining partner. Calamari For our main entree, we ordered the Corn Flake-breaded Fried Chicken and Waffle, which was $29. This comes with roasted jalapeño maple syrup and candied bacon butter. Cornflake Breaded Fried Chicken and Waffle The chicken is perfectly pounded flat and breaded, juicy and tender, and it soaks up the jalapeño syrup beautifully. The waffle is a classic buttermilk, cooked to perfection. Together they hit the perfect balance of sweet, salty, and a little smoky from the jalapeño syrup. The smokiness balances the sweetness of the real maple syrup, and the jalapeños are roasted over an open fire, which makes for complex but familiar bites. The butter is quite sweet on its own, but paired with the chicken, waffle, and jalapeño syrup, it makes the perfect sweet, salty, crunchy, savory bite. Be warned: this dish is absolutely gargantuan. It can easily be split between two people. The waffle already comes cut into two pieces, so all you have to do is slice the chicken in half and you have two perfect entrées. Cornflake Breaded Fried Chicken and Waffle Finally, for dessert, we ordered the Chocolate-Hazelnut Cake for $12. This features a hazelnut mousse and berry sauce, and it was definitely a hit! Chocolate-Hazelnut Cake This might be one of the best chocolate desserts we’ve had in a long time. The hazelnut flour adds so much hazelnut flavor without adding any denseness, and the chocolate layers in between are super creamy and delicious and blend beautifully with the hazelnut. The first few bites are enrobed in a crunchy chocolate and hazelnut coating that reminds us of Magic Shell on our childhood ice cream, but elevated to an adult palate because the chocolate is so well tempered and crunchy. Then you get the wonderful flavor of the chocolate hazelnut cake and the layers of chocolate mousse. Chocolate-Hazelnut Cake Then, when you swipe your fork through the raspberry sauce at the bottom of the plate, it combines to make a perfect bite of the dessert. The acidity of the raspberry comes through, and you can really taste it alongside the chocolate and hazelnut, creating an almost truffle-like flavor that we absolutely adore. Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… You want a “hidden gem steakhouse” moment that feels like you escaped the parks without actually leaving Disney World. This spot sits at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa and leans into a rustic racetrack clubhouse theme with golf course and lake views, which is basically Disney’s way of saying: “Yes, you may pretend you’re casually wealthy for 90 minutes.” You’re planning a date night, an adults-only dinner, or a “we need quiet and protein” meal after a long day. It’s open for dinner, and the vibe is relaxed and comfortable, not stuffy-white-tablecloth, but still nicer than quick service. TouringPlans even notes the dress code is casual enough that your park-day outfit is fine, which is a big win for anyone who doesn’t want to do a full wardrobe change in their hotel room like it’s a Broadway intermission. You like classic American fare with some “Disney’s actually trying” touches. The current menu includes things like French onion soup, Brussels sprouts, calamari, and steakhouse-leaning mains (plus the occasional fun curveball like tempura-fried mushrooms). You want a table-service reservation that’s often easier to snag than the headline-grabbers. Reservations are usually available last minute, which makes this a great “Plan B that feels like Plan A” pick. You should skip this Disney World spot if… You’re trying to keep costs low. This is table service, and while it’s not “sell a kidney” dining, it’s still a sit-down steak-and-seafood-leaning menu. The menu pegs appetizers around $9–$22 and entrées roughly in the $23–$36 range, with a three-course meal often landing around $50–$55 before drinks and gratuity. You’ve got little kids who need loud energy, fast turnaround, and a menu that’s basically beige on purpose. This is calmer, slower, and more “sit and enjoy” than “inhale food, sprint to the next thing.” Great for adults, not always the easiest for tiny tornadoes. You’re staying in a far-flung Saratoga section, and you’re in “I refuse to travel” mode. This one’s in the Carriage House area, so depending on where your room is, dinner can involve a little extra commuting. Not a dealbreaker, just something your feet will have thoughts about. Overall From the first sip to the last bite, this meal was a standout. The chicken and waffle was the star of the savory courses: a sweet, salty, smoky combination that was complex yet familiar, and so generously portioned that it easily feeds two. The chocolate hazelnut dessert closed the evening on a high note, with layers of texture and flavor that were rich without being heavy. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared and stood out. 23. In just a week, Disney World will be opening up reservations for its brand new hotel, Lakeshore Lodge, which opens in July, 2027. As a result, Disney has been dropping a TON of new details about the new hotel, including some brand new concept art of its lobby and lobby lounge (and y’all, it is STUNNING). ©Disney Well, Disney is doing even MORE to promote its newest hotel, and if you live anywhere near New York City, you’ll want to visit Flatiron Public Plaza because a huge pop-up art installation dedicated to the hotel is there for a few days. We got a chance to visit it ourselves, and we’re bringing you along with us. The art installation will be available on October 1st from 2 PM to 6 PM and October 2nd from 10 AM to 5 PM, so there’s still time to see it. Lakeshore Lodge pop-up installation The art installation features a massive mural by Tracy Lee Stum, an acclaimed American street muralist who has received numerous awards for her work around the world, including a 2006 Guinness World Record for the largest chalk painting by an individual. She’s known for her colorful, interactive 3D chalk art, and you can see why. The artwork at the pop-up is inspired by Lakeshore Lodge’s Daydream River, the lazy river coming to the hotel. Look at this mural! We even spotted a not-so-hidden Mickey in the artwork. We’ll be keeping an eye out for this in real life, too! Mickey! Disney even dropped some inner tubes on the art so you can get the feeling of floating down the lazy river and take some fun photos. Are these the tubes we’ll see at the resort? They look legit, but we’ll have to wait and see! Fun photo ops Around the art, you’ll find various pieces of concept art (which we’ve already seen) of Lakeshore Lodge, as well as concept art of The Wetlands, its huge outdoor recreation area. Concept art There are also some places where you can just sit and chill for a while. Lounging area The pop-up has a lot of fun Disney and Lakeshore Lodge details that will get you really excited about the new hotel. Fun details So if you find yourself in or near New York City over the next few days, you’ll want to make sure you drop by to see this huge sidewalk mural for yourself. 25. Is it possible to DoorDash food from a Disney World restaurant? Chicken Tikka Naan Pizza Have you ever been sitting at home or in your hotel room, wishing you had a meal from Disney World, but just didn’t want to go get it? We’ve always wondered if it’s possible to order food from a restaurant on Disney World property and get it delivered to you. We’re here to tell you if you can, and if so, where you can order from! If you’ve been wondering if you can DoorDash or Uber Eats from a Disney World restaurant, the answer is YES! You can actually get food from Disney World property delivered to you. However, DoorDash is only available from two restaurants across Disney World property as of writing. Pinocchio Village Haus The first restaurant at Disney World you can get food delivered from is Earl of Sandwich at Disney Springs. It makes sense that you wouldn’t be able to DoorDash from any of the four parks or the Disney World Resort hotels, but we were surprised that there weren’t many restaurants at Disney Springs that offer delivery service. Earl of Sandwich The second restaurant you can DoorDash from is eet by Maneet Chauhan. You’ll be able to order Earl of Sandwich and eet by Maneet Chauhan to be delivered to your home if you’re a local, but did you know that you can get food delivered to the Disney World hotel you’re staying in? eet by Maneet Chauhan You’ll want to call down to the lobby to ask what the best way is to have food delivered to whichever resort you’re at. Each Disney resort might have a different process for where they will hold your food or if they have the availability to store it in the refrigerator. In our experience, meeting your Dasher in the lobby is the easiest way to avoid confusion or worse, lost food. Contemporary rooms When you’re logged in to the DoorDash app, type in the hotel’s full address. Make sure to use the address provided by a Cast Member at the front desk. Also, make sure NOT to type in your hotel room number. DoorDash drivers will not deliver to your hotel room door. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa If you are feeling a delicious meal from Earl of Sandwich, you’ll find it on the DoorDash map on Disney World property. You can also put in the Disney Springs location’s address in the search bar. It’s pretty cool to know that there is something at Disney World you can have delivered to you, without dealing with the driving and parking that comes with getting to Disney Springs. Earl of Sandwich If you’re ever looking for tips and tricks around Disney World, we’ve got you covered. Make sure to follow us at the Disney Food Blog for it all! 26. I write about and visit the Disney World parks for my job, and I STILL made some mistakes on my recent family trip. We always share our wrongdoings with you, so YOU don’t make the same mistakes! Beaches & Cream Soda Shop Disney World is constantly changing, and your “foolproof” strategies might not work depending on when you’re going, who you’re traveling with, and other factors like weather or crowd levels. I followed one of our expert dining tips during my trip, and it kept backfiring on me! Here at DFB, Disney World dining is kind of our thing, and we’ve mastered the tricks of the trade. One thing that we warn folks about constantly is overbooking dining for your vacation. It can be tempting to reserve every meal in advance, but table service meals are time-consuming, pricey, and you never know when you may need to change your park plans last-minute. We often suggest that you should just make a few key dining reservations (the ones you want the most) and then be a bit more flexible when you’re in the parks. With offerings like Mobile Order and the Walk-Up Waitlist in the My Disney Experience app, this is often a good strategy! Totchos from Woody’s Lunch Box However, I followed this tip for my last vacation, and it turned out to be a problem. I was taking my toddler, my husband, and my parents along with me, so I thought it would be nice to build in some flexibility to my week-long trip. I made two reservations in advance and figured we’d just eat quick service, do EPCOT festival booths, and make use of the Walk-Up Waitlist for any other meals. Well, that bit me in the butt…TWICE. The EPCOT Food and Wine Festival The first problem came on Wednesday, when we transferred hotels. The plan was to move to the BoardWalk midday and then snag a last-minute reservation or use the waitlist to dine in the EPCOT Resort area. It took a while to get into our room and get our luggage, and by the time we wrapped up, the dinner rush was in full swing. All of the Walk-Up Waitlist options in my area were completely full for a party of five, with no reservations available until after bedtime. We ended up snagging quick eats from a few different places at the BoardWalk and eating outside at a table until rain rolled through. I wanted the day to be flexible since it was a resort day, but I could’ve made a more solid plan. ©Disney The other problem came on our Hollywood Studios day. We had a lot of must-do rides, and I didn’t want to book a dining reservation that would interfere with any of our Lightning Lanes. I had hoped to use the Walk-Up Waitlist for either The Hollywood Brown Derby or The Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge (I was craving a delicious Cobb Salad), and that completely fell through. There was no lounge availability for a party of five, and the restaurant was ONLY operating on dining reservations the day of our visit. We ended up Mobile Ordering from ABC Commissary, which was still delicious, but we lost half an hour when we were scrambling around to make a plan. Cobb Salad After these two experiences, I learned my lesson! I had one more dining slot open for the week — breakfast on Saturday morning. I went ahead and started looking for available reservations two days before and was able to snag us one for Topolino’s Terrace. My son loved meeting Mickey and friends, and we had a really yummy meal. Mickey at Topolino’s Terrace character breakfast Basically, I was trying to be flexible all week and keep our schedule open while traveling with an unpredictable toddler, but I would’ve saved some time avoiding indecision purgatory if I’d just made plans ahead of time. Also, the Walk-Up Waitlist is a wonderful invention, but it might not be as easy to use if you’re traveling with a party greater than four people. In that case, make the reservations! ©Disney So, don’t make the same mistakes as me and book those reservations! You can always cancel them up to two hours before your reservation time.
