I’m no nutritionist, and I’m certainly not a dietician, but I do know quite a bit about Disney World food groups. Casey’s Corner Corn Dog Nuggets When it’s your job to write about and review Disney World food, you start to notice some patterns emerging. And if you’re making a trip to the parks soon, chances are that you’ll be consuming snacks and drinks from each of these nine categories. Welcome to the Disney food pyramid! Mickey-Shaped Snacks Kicking off the list with a classic, our first category is “Mickey-shaped Snacks.” These are snacks that have the triple-circle iconic Mickey Mouse shape. Here, you’ve got some very popular items like the Mickey Ice Cream Sandwich and the Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bar. Mickey Ice Cream Sandwich Of course, this also includes Mickey-shaped waffles, Mickey-shaped Rice Krispie treats, Mickey beignets, Mickey cinnamon rolls, and Mickey pretzels. Outside of those, you can often find marshmallow wands, cookies, cake pops, dome cakes, and brownies in the shape of Disney’s mascot. Let’s be real — did you even GO to Disney World if you didn’t eat something Mickey-shaped? If this were a real food pyramid, this would be the base. See Our Guide to Mickey Waffles Here! Anything With Blue Curaçao Heading more into the drink category, we have to mention Blue Curaçao. This common drink syrup is in seemingly EVERY fun Disney beverage. You’ll spot it in the ingredients for all kinds of fun floats, cocktails, mocktails, and slushes. It makes things pretty, sure, but it’s rather overdone. Look at the little piggy! And if you’re trying to drink something tropical or fruity, you’re probably not going to see a single menu without a Blue Curaçao-infused beverage. We suppose this one is at least an Insta-worthy category! The Drink Trend Taking Over Disney Springs Dunked in Plastic Cheese Okay, we’ll admit it, we’re pretty obsessed with this category. Yep, it’s time to talk PLASTIC CHEESE. Of course, this cheese sauce isn’t really plastic; it just gives a shiny, plastic-y appearance when it’s sitting in a cup. It’s ideal for dunking several savory snacks, and it has a cult following. Fries and plastic cheese! So, what falls in this category? Well, we would include corn dog nuggets, French fries (the regular ones), soft pretzels, pretzel nuggets, and tater tots. However, you’re not limited to just those items. We’re here to support cheese sauce for all, so dunk to your heart’s content! Who Knew a $1 Cup of Cheese Could Make These 5 Snacks Better? FOMO Treats Now, on to the FOMO Treats category. This isn’t anyone’s favorite, mainly because these are usually the obligatory snacks… the ones you eat because you feel like you have to. And here, there can be some overlap with other categories. For instance, we could make an argument for adding the Mickey-shaped ice cream treats or the Mickey pretzel to this list. Blue Milk However, more fittingly, this list includes the Blue Milk from Galaxy’s Edge, churros from the snack carts, and of course, anything that goes mega viral, like that ice cream sandwich at Animal Kingdom. 12 of Our Favorite Snacks Under $10 DOLE Whip (Yes, It Gets Its Own Category) If there’s any snack that deserves its own food group in Disney World, it’s DOLE Whip! This iconic soft-serve treat is vegan and comes in a variety of fruit flavors, and for many folks, it’s the #1 must-try treat when you go to the parks. Pineapple DOLE Whip Of course, the most popular spot to grab a DOLE Whip (and get the OG flavor, pineapple) is Aloha Isle in Magic Kingdom. However, in various locations around the parks, resorts, and Disney Springs, you can get DOLE Whip in several flavors and served in floats, in flights, in cones, and on top of other desserts. See Our Maps to Find Every DOLE Whip in Disney World Here! This Is So American Let’s be honest, some of Disney World’s treats could simply not get more American. We’re talking hot dogs topped with mac and cheese, candied bacon on a clothesline, and of course, your nemesis and mine… TURKEY LEGS. These are the types of treats you would only see in an American theme park. Bacon Mac & Cheese Dog These are the snacks where you read the description and audibly go “woooowwwww.” Chances are, it fits in this category if it has excessive amounts of meat, cheese, or more than three carbs in the ingredients list. Disney World’s Most Bizarre Food Trends Stacked Up and Loaded Down Somewhat similar to the last category, this one’s all about going over-the-top… literally. Stacked Up and Loaded Down is the food group dedicated to items that are covered, topped, smothered, and loaded with sauces, cheese, spices, and more. Black garlic, truffle, and parm fries In recent years, Disney has really kicked things up a notch with loaded fries and loaded chicken strips at many quick service spots. You could also throw the fan-favorite Totchos from Woody’s Lunch Box and various poutine creations into this list. See One of Our Favorite Loaded Fry Options Here! “My Kid Wanted It” When you’re walking through gift shops and past snack stands seemingly every 10 minutes, it can be a challenge to keep your child from begging for some of Disney World’s more ridiculous treats. Which are those? Oh, you know, the lollipops larger than their heads, candy apples they’ll never finish, containers of cotton candy, or bags of chocolate coins. Play in the Parks cotton candy You may try to tell them that there are better treats on the horizon, but they just won’t listen. Oh well, it’s vacation, after all! The Disney World Snack That’s Just About Perfect Too Many Snack Credits Left A fitting last item on our list is for the last-minute snack grabbers. When you’re on the Disney Dining Plan, and you get to the end of your trip, you may find that you have WAY too many snack credits left. What do you do? Panic-buy a bunch of prepackaged snacks at the gift shop, of course! Snack Wall We’ve all done it. It’s a rite of passage, though we hate to admit it! This is definitely not the most budget-friendly way to spend those snack credits, but c’est la vie! See Our Guide to the Dining Plan Here Snacks are undeniably a major part of a Disney World trip; you just have to figure out which ones you like best! Which food group is your favorite? In case you missed it, Saturday, August 15th was a BIG day for Disney fans. D23 2026 During the Walt Disney Imagineering showcase at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, we got a ton of news about projects that are ongoing for the theme parks and cruise line. There were some big reveals and a few surprises along the way, and let’s just say that our team had WILD reactions to the news. The Opening Number To start, you need to know that this year’s Imagineering Showcase was streamed live on Disney+, so many of us were following the news updates from home. Neil Patrick Harris hosted this go around, and he kicked off everything with a MASSIVE musical number about Disney animatronics. Neil Patrick Harris on stage Of course, we’re not only Disney nerds, we’re also theater nerds over here, so we had immediate messages rolling in like “Is this giving anyone else 2013 Tony Awards?” and “Tony Awards opening number vibes.” Brian said, “This is the most Disney theater kid-coded thing ever, and I mean that in kinda the best way.” The end of the showcase Tbh, not everyone was jazzed though, because Ashley said “with all of these musical numbers, we’ll be here until 4AM.” (That’s a little bit of foreshadowing for ya.) But of course, the best part of the opening number was all the Disney references. My coworker Kelly freaked out over the snowman fall, while my contribution to the chat was: “This is a wild assortment of people dressed as Haunted Mansion ghosts.” Oh NPH, you know how to put on a show! The Yeti Surprise One of the biggest surprises of the night was when it was revealed that Walt Disney Imagineering will be bringing the yeti from Expedition Everest back to life. Emily literally screamed “YETIIII” into our group chat, and that pretty much expresses our feelings on the matter. The thing that shocked me more, though was the musical number that followed. I said, “Gloria Gaynor singing the yeti back to life was not on my bingo card for tonight.” ©Disney But the news was a real treat for Wendy, who had a near-spiritual moment. “I haven’t been deeply in love with the world lately. Tonight is changing that a little bit. It’s all so ridiculous and wonderful.” We’re happy for you, Wendy. See the Yeti News! Tropical Americas and Monstropolis The middle of the showcase featured some updates on lands we already knew were coming, but we were LOVING some of these details. When Disney showed the photo of the animals for El Carrusel de los Animalitos we were pretty delighted to see some of the representation. Brian said, “Is that Heimlich?!?” and Jessica chimed in with an “omg Kuzco carousel animal.” Underrated characters represent! ©Disney Before Disney dove into Monstropolis, though, they paused for yet ANOTHER musical number (this was like the third one at this point!). Our teammate Robin had been lamenting the fact that this panel was happening so late at night for us East Coasters, and Hayden said, “You could’ve been in bed by now if not for all the musical numbers @Robin.” So true, Hayden, so true. Monstropolis Concept Art ©Disney For Monstropolis, the big reveal was that part of the land is opening next year! Wendy was shocked, jumping in with an all-caps “WHOA NEXT YEAR MONSTROPOLIS.” But Emily kept us in check with reality, saying “Next year aka December.” Yeah…maybe that’s more realistic hahaha! Get More Info on Monstropolis! Villains Land Admittedly, the Villains Land announcements didn’t provoke much screaming from our team, but I did comment that “Hellfire is a killer way to open this.” The music set the mood REAL fast. ©Disney The thing that really made our team freak out? “GLENN CLOSE!” “THE HEELS OMG!” “I KNEW IT WAS HER!” Glenn’s appearance as Cruella was truly iconic and served serious star power, though it was a bit confusing since she’s not getting her own ride in the land. See More About Villains Land Here! ANOTHER Music Number? Just when we thought we couldn’t possibly pause the show for more music, Disney surprised us. At home we said, “more music, you’re kidding,” while one of our reporters on the scene shared that, “People have been leaving the last 20 minutes. Not in droves, but noticeably.” During the showcase That led to one of my favorite comments of the night from Wendy: “‘Not in droves, but noticeably.’ That’s how I prefer to leave places.” Wendy, you’re a model for all of us. Tomorrowland The Disneyland Tomorrowland overhaul news had our team shouting “Yuuuusssss!” and “Woot woot!” from our computers at home. Brian said, “Well that’s a silver bullet.” ©Disney At this point, you know we love a little bit of snarky commentary around here, and Hayden added “it’ll be done in time for the 100th.” Brian pointed out that “2055 is technically ‘soon'” in Disney terms. Get the Story on the Tomorrowland Reveal Here! Figment and Dreamfinder But the #1 announcement that made our team lose our ever-loving minds? When Neil Patrick Harris came out on stage dressed as Dreamfinder to reveal that the beloved character would return to EPCOT in an updated version of the Figment ride. In fact, there was so much screaming and excitment that I just had to screenshot the page. Take a look for yourself: As you can see, the vibes were high. So those are our team’s reactions to some of the major Disney news that was revealed over the weekend! For more updates on all the Disney Experiences projects, subscribe to our newsletter. We know that many Disney fans are still sad and disappointed about the closure of Muppets Courtyard in Disney’s Hollywood Studios to convert it into Monstropolis, a brand NEW land based on Monsters, Inc. And we know a lot of us were also very sad to say goodbye to the Muppet*Vision 3D attraction. ©Disney However, Disney just recently shared a NEW look at the attraction that’s taking Muppet*Vision 3D’s place, which will be a show called “Welcome to Monstropolis” inside the Glob Theater. Well, we looked at some social media responses from Disney fans, and a majority just aren’t happy with this replacement. “Welcome to Monstropolis” will be celebrating H.U.M.A.N. in Monstropolis, when humans have been invited to visit the city (what is it with all these “day” themes lately? First, Zoogether Day at Zootopia: Better Zoogether, and now H.U.M.A.N. Day at Monstropolis?). It will also feature the first song composed by Randy Newman for a Disney Park. Disney also shared some new concept art of the show, which will be hosted by Mike and Sulley (so you know shenanigans are in order). Welcome to Monstropolis Concept Art ©Disney So what do Muppet*Vision 3D fans think of this replacement for their beloved attraction? Well, most are disappointed. On Facebook, James said, “So so so disappointed, they should have moved Laugh Factory (Floor) here.” Honestly, he has a point. Now there are going to be two Monsters, Inc.-themed shows in Disney World, in different parks? Or will there? Will Disney keep Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor when Monstropolis opens? Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor We also saw a TON of comments about how Disney missed a huge Monsters, Inc. reference with this show. Charvet1986 commented, “Where’s the Company Play ‘Put That Thing Back Where It Came From Or So Help Me?'” Um…yeah, it’s kinda’ weird that Disney DIDN’T go with that concept. And, again, a lot of Disney fans pointed that out. ©Disney However, most are just disappointed that this is what’s replacing Muppet*Vision 3D. Elizajunn minced no words when commenting, “Showing me the corpse of Muppet Vision when the body isn’t even cold disney chill.” OUCH. Another social media user on Instagram, @pd176k, wrote, “I cannot believe they basically just rethemed the existing muppets stuff to monsters. Why was i assuming this would be a totally different type of land?” Muppet*Vision 3D Other Disney fans just voiced outrage, like @elliotelliotvitale, who wrote, “how dare they sit where bean bunny sat?” Instagram user @alvin98112019 just came out and asked THE question, “Is this a bad time to bring back Muppet-Vision 3D?” Other users questioned some of the changes being made to the show. For example, @thisisthejae commented, “Replacing the balconies with actual animatronics with screens is such a tragic decision.” Statler and Waldorf in Muppet*Vision 3D However, not EVERYONE was disappointed, and some expressed excitement about what’s to come. According to @fimmy_jlaherty., “The Glob is genius ” Of course, we don’t really know much about the show beyond what Disney has already shared, so we’re going to withhold judgment until we see it with our own eyes. But it’s okay: your disappointment is valid. Muppet*Vision 3D was a much-beloved and highly nostalgic attraction…and it won’t be forgotten so soon. We like this one because we can clip it onto our backpacks so it’s always easy to reach. It’s nice to be able to use a bit after rides, before eating a snack, and any other time when you feel like you’ve touched a little too much. Grab it here! Deodorant ©Amazon Please don’t forget the deodorant! While we keep some in our toiletry bags, it’s nice to have some mini sizes in your backpack when you’re in the parks. With all the sweat and rain, we like to reapply a little extra every now and again so we don’t feel like a rat in Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. Grab it here! Sunglasses ©Amazon Another classic! With all the sunshine, you don’t want to be squinting all day, and in case you lose your go-tos, we prefer to have a backup. These aren’t very expensive either, so if you leave them behind on Buzz Lightyear, you won’t be devastated. Grab it here! Thermal Phone Case ©Amazon As people with our phones always out in Disney World taking pictures and video, let us tell you that your phone can and will overheat. This little bag helps keep that from happening! When your phone isn’t in use, you can keep it in the pouch to protect it from the sun. Grab it here! D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event presented by Visa is the biggest celebration of Disney fandom, and this year was especially memorable for Thomas Mazloum. Experiencing his first D23 as Chairman of Disney Experiences, Thomas spent the weekend sharing exciting updates, meeting fans from around the world, and hearing firsthand what Disney means to so many people. From the excitement of Horizons: A Carousel of Progress to conversations across the show floor, D23 2026 offered countless opportunities to connect with the fans who bring so much passion and enthusiasm to Disney every day. Whether it was a conversation on the show floor or a reaction inside the showcase, those moments were a reminder of something Thomas has long believed: guests and fans are at the heart of everything Disney Experiences creates. Of course, there was plenty to be excited about, too. From fan-favorite announcements to new experiences on the horizon, D23 2026 left Disney fans with a lot to look forward to in the years ahead. Disney Parks Blog caught up with Thomas after the event to talk about his first D23 Event as Chairman, the moments that sparked some of the biggest reactions from fans, and why listening to guests will always be an important part of what’s next for Disney Experiences. As the new chairman of Disney Experiences, what insights can you share about your new role? My new role is a dream come true. I’m in a unique position to see the full potential of this company come to life in real time – cruising Route 66 with Lightning and Mater in Anaheim, walking through Arendelle with Olaf in Hong Kong or Paris, walking through Zootopia in Shanghai, flying with the Na’vi in Orlando, dancing through the ballroom with Beauty and the Beast in Tokyo, or sailing with Captains Mickey and Minnie on one of our ships. Nobody else can bring those real-world fantasies to life the way Disney Experiences can. Following this year’s Disney Experiences showcase, what are you most excited for guests to experience in the years to come? I’m most excited about our firsts… the things that we’ve never done before. This is our first Villains Land. It’s such a bold, different concept. Our villains are some of the most iconic characters. And what our Imagineers and Live Entertainment teams are building toward is going to feel nightmarishly magical, in the best way. I’m also thrilled to see our first attractions dedicated to other favorites, such as Coco and Encanto… and of course our first attraction based on The Lion King. These new attractions are powerful because their stories are beloved to our returning guests, and they will certainly bring in new guests who may have never been to a Disney park before. What does it mean for you to share this year’s D23 with our biggest fans? Our fans are at the center of everything we do, same as our guests in the parks and cruise ships, and they bring so much energy and passion. Being on stage was incredible, but honestly my favorite part was just walking the expo floor, talking to people one-on-one about why they love Disney. Getting to surprise them one night and thank them the next… that was a real thrill for me. What got the biggest reaction? The reactions that I felt most in the room were around the fan-favorite announcements such as the reanimation of the Yeti at Expedition Everest… the return of Figment, Dreamfinder and Spaceship Earth to Epcot, and, of course, the transformation of Tomorrowland in Disneyland. Figment and the Yeti may not be household names to every Disney guest, but they are certainly favorites among our most loyal fans. I want them to know that we hear them… and, as a Disney fan myself, I can’t wait to see these characters back in action. Tomorrowland shows once more that we are listening, and that we care about our existing lands and attractions as much as the new ones. Tomorrowland is such an important part of Walt’s original theme park. It represents our dreams and aspirations for the future… and like Disneyland itself, it is important that it never stops evolving and improving. As Disney Experiences continues to grow and evolve, how do you ensure that everything we do remains focused on delivering exceptional experiences? I think about this every day. And I believe that no matter what role someone has within our company, our north star should always be to make every moment magic. That means fusing creativity with hospitality and mixing friendliness with the unexpected. It means holding ourselves to a standard nobody else in the world is even attempting and then living up to it every single day. I still remember sitting in my Disney Traditions orientation class almost 30 years ago, a little nervous about living up to the reputation of this company and everything it’s capable of. That feeling hasn’t really left me… it’s just turned into motivation. What would you like guests and fans to know about the passion, creativity and care that go into creating the Disney experiences they know and love? Really, this is all about our Cast, Crew, and our Imagineers. They’re the greatest storytellers in the world, and they’re the heart of this business. Guests visit us the first time for the stories they want to be part of and the characters they love, but they come back time and again, generation after generation, because of how our Cast makes them feel. There’s a trust there, and that’s the thing I want us to hold onto as we keep growing. Honestly, it’s what makes me most excited for what’s still ahead! The post Inside Thomas Mazloum’s First D23: Listening to Fans and Looking Toward the Future appeared first on Disney Parks Blog. View the full article

D23 just ended, and this year we got so many details on several of the projects and new lands coming to Disney World, especially Villains Land. ©Disney Including a Mirror Realm Dark Ride , and today we are going to be diving into all of the details and concept art Disney has shared about this brand-new ride so far! During D23, Disney gave us the most details we’ve ever gotten about this new land coming to Magic Kingdom. They confirmed the name, gave us a glimpse into the design of the land, shared information about a Maleficent Roller Coaster, and, of course, that there would be a Mirror Realm Dark Ride. ©Disney Disney has shared that this dark ride will feature many fan-favorite villains and be hosted by the Magic Mirror himself. According to Disney, “You’ll find the Magic Mirror where the Evil Queen keeps him in the catacombs beneath her pristine palace. After making your way to him, he’ll magically transport you into his mystical Mirror Realm to see things on the other side of the mirror. There, in his ethereal realm, you’ll be transfixed by countless Disney Villains conjured in ways only the Magic Mirror can do.” This ride will use a combination of special effects and practical sets to bring both the villains and the Mirror Realm to life. ©Disney Taking a closer look at the concept art for this attraction, you can see shards of glass reflecting Cruella, Jafar, Dr. Facilier, Scar, and Ursula. This most likely means these characters will be featured on the attraction! ©Disney The ride vehicle itself appears to be a boat floating along a river of smoke, which could mean that this could potentially be a boat ride through the Mirror Realm. ©Disney There is also shattered glass all throughout the design, which makes us think that the shattered glass will play a large role in the design of the ride and in bringing the Mirror Realm to life. ©Disney We cannot wait to experience this attraction when it eventually opens, and we will continue to bring you all of the Villains Land news and updates, so stay tuned to Disney Food Blog so you never miss anything! Well, we got a LOT of information thrown at us REAL fast during the Disney Experiences Showcase at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. We learned a LOT more about everything coming to Disney World, including Monstropolis in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, as well as Villains Land and Piston Peak in Magic Kingdom. ©Disney However, we also got some more details about Pueblo Esperanza coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, including more information about the three rides coming to the new land, including the new Encanto ride. Disney also dropped new concept art for the ride, and let’s just say we stared at it with a magnifying glass to see if we could spot any hidden clues. The new Encanto ride is called Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto, and it will be an invitation to celebrate Antonio’s new magical gift, which is communicating with animals. We also learned that the voice actors from the animated film are returning to voice their characters on the ride, including Stephanie Beatriz, Jessica Darrow, and Diane Guerrero, playing the roles of Mirabel, Luisa, and Isabella. ©Disney When you step into La Casita, you’ll board a ride vehicle which will represent the different pieces of furniture assembled by the Casita’s magic to transport you around the house. You can see that represented in the concept art, which shows the vehicles going up a staircase. ©Disney But what else does this concept art tell us? Well, there are butterflies EVERYWHERE, as well as a lot of flowers, which suggests that Isabella’s magic is working here, too. There are also a lot of butterflies surrounding the ride vehicles. One thing we find extremely interesting is that the ride vehicles are going up a staircase. Why is that interesting? Well, Disney just recently filed a patent that would use practical effects to create the illusion of a ride vehicle rising and falling, and we now think that patent was filed JUST for this ride. If you look at the diagram from the patent, it’s almost identical to the concept art! ©U.S. Patent and Trademark Office So it seems like you won’t actually be going up the staircase at all, but Disney will be using Imagineering magic to make it seem like you’re going up instead. FASCINATING. ©U.S. Patent and Trademark Office There’s another thing we’ve noticed in this concept art. Now we’re not sure what this is, but there is some kind of figure hidden in shadows at the bottom left of the concept art. Who…or what… is this? Is this Bruno? If you’ve spent any time in the Disney parks lately, you’ve probably noticed everyone seems to be carrying the same adorable, character-covered mini backpack — and there’s a good reason for that. @Loungefly Loungefly has become the go-to brand for Disney fans who want their accessories to be just as magical as their trip, turning everything from classic movie scenes to your favorite princesses into wearable, collectible art. The catch is that these bags rarely go on sale, so when the prices drop, it’s worth paying attention. Right now, a handful of fan-favorite styles are marked down by as much as 44% off, with a few even hitting their lowest prices in a full year. Here’s a rundown of the best Loungefly deals you can snag today before they’re gone. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. view Our Loungefly AMAZON Storefront Get this Bambi Micro Loungefly on Amazon! ©Amazon This Bambi Micro Loungefly is done in an all-over iridescent purple faux leather that shifts and shimmers as it catches the light, with a debossed floral pattern pressed into the surface. The front pocket is the star of the show, with a dimensional flower appliqué wrapped around a sweet Bambi graphic right in the center. Flip the bag around, and you’ll spot recessed metal charms tucked into the sides featuring Thumper and Flower, while the adjustable strap has “Bambi,” “Thumper,” and “Flower” written along its length. True to Loungefly’s convertible style, it wears as a mini backpack or cinches down into a crossbody, so shoppers get two looks out of one bag. Right now it’s marked down 44%, the lowest price we’ve seen on this one in a year, so it’s a great time to snag it before it climbs back up. view ON AMAZON This Winnie the Pooh micro backpack is adorable! ©Amazon This one’s an easy sell for Pooh fans. This Winnie the Pooh Micro Loungefly is covered all over in an embossed honey bee print, so tiny bees show up in the texture no matter which angle you look at it from. Perched right on the top flap is a 3D molded metal charm of Winnie the Pooh himself, giving the front a little dimension beyond the print. It’s a micro mini, so it’s noticeably smaller and cuter than Loungefly’s standard mini backpack silhouette, and it’s built to convert: zip the two halves of the strap together, and it turns from a backpack into a sling in seconds. Right now it’s 38% off, so it’s a nice way to add a Hundred Acre Wood accessory to the collection without paying full price. view ON AMAZON We love the details on the Minnie floral Loungefly! ©Amazon This Minnie Mouse Floral Mini Backpack leans romantic and vintage, built around a circular silhouette that gives it a totally different shape than the standard boxy Loungefly bag. Minnie herself shows up as an applique on the front, dressed up and holding a little bouquet of flowers, and she’s surrounded by embroidered roses. Framing the whole scene are concentric rings of pink-and-white lace detailing, which is where the “Floral and Lace” name comes from. The adjustable straps carry the theme through with polka dot and lace accents, and silver-toned metal hardware adds a bit of polish. Right now it’s 34% off, making it an easy grab at a discount. view ON AMAZON Or, you can grab this pretty pink checkered Loungefly! ©Amazon This Pink Checkered Loungefly is a little more understated than the typical Loungefly print. It’s built in a light pink checkerboard texture with a debossed finish, so the pattern reads more like a subtle woven fabric than a bold print. The Minnie touches are kept intentionally low-key: a faux leather charm and a 3D bow sit up top, with appliqué details worked into the design rather than a big graphic front and center. It’s a great option for anyone who wants their Disney bag to double as an everyday accessory without shouting about it, and right now it’s 33% off. view ON AMAZON Don’t forget to grab this Tangled Loungefly! ©Amazon This Tangled Loungefly is one that goes big on color and storytelling across an 11-inch silhouette. The base is a crisp white faux leather, which acts as a bright canvas for a full all-over print starring Rapunzel, Flynn Rider, and a wonderfully deadpan Maximus, his stern expression playing off the rest of the design’s playful energy. Lavender straps and edging tie back to Rapunzel’s signature dress color, while gold-toned hardware and zippers add a regal touch that plays up the fairytale theme. It’s a busier, more scene-driven design than a lot of the other bags on this list, making it a fun pick for anyone who wants their Loungefly to tell a whole story rather than lean on a single character or motif. Right now it’s 30% off, the lowest price we’ve seen on this one in a year. view ON AMAZON Or, you can grab this Stitch Loungefly! ©Amazon This Stitch Loungefly brings a beachy, tropical energy to the lineup with a full all-over print centered on Stitch catching waves on a surfboard. Scattered throughout the design are ducklings and sea turtles that round out an island-adventure scene, and the fun detail work continues onto the straps, where you’ll spot tiny duckling appliques if you look closely. It’s a lighter, more whimsical take than some of the character-portrait bags on this list, and it’s currently 23% off, making it a solid pickup for anyone who loves Lilo & Stitch’s laid-back Hawaiian vibe. view ON AMAZON Don’t forget this Mickey and Minnie pool Loungefly! ©Amazon This Mickey and Minnie Beach Loungefly has pure summer vacation energy. The design shows Mickey and Minnie kicked back on colorful, fruit-shaped floaties, giving the whole bag a playful, laid-back beach-day feel. Sandy details run along the entire bottom of the bag, tying in with the coordinating adjustable straps, and a bright, matching lining continues the theme once you open it up. It’s finished in faux leather with padded appliqué, debossed, and printed detailing, and comes with a sturdy top handle alongside those adjustable straps for switching up how you carry it. It’s currently 22% off, the lowest price we’ve seen on this one since it landed on Amazon three months ago, making it a great time to grab a little sunshine for your collection. view ON AMAZON And finally, this Alice in Wonderland Sketch Loungefly is lovely. ©Amazon This Alice in Wonderland Loungefly leans a little darker and dressier than the rest of the lineup. It’s done in a black-and-cream color story, with Alice sitting front and center on the bag, surrounded by ornate black floral embroidery that spills onto the side panels as well. Black trim runs around the entire bag for a cohesive, moody look, and the crowning touch is a statement 3D bow serving as the top handle, a nod to Alice’s own iconic hair bow. Between the embroidery, debossing, and appliqué work, it reads more like a fairytale accessory than a straightforward character bag. It’s currently 12% off, the lowest price we’ve seen on this one in the three months since it landed on Amazon. While we here on the team still miss Disney’s Magical Express service every single day, we are glad there are options to help make getting to Disney World easier than taking a rideshare or taxi from the airport. Luggage Services queue at All-Star Movies Mears Connect is the main one, but what about if you’ve got an extra-long trip and you’ve got a TON of luggage? Do you need to lug it all around yourself to and from the airport? Well, if you’re staying at select airports, the answer is no, and now another hotel has been added to the list! Disney has just quietly added another hotel to the Luggage Services section of the Walt Disney World website. The service is officially called Airport Luggage Transfer and is where guests staying at select Disney Resorts Collection hotels can use this pilot program, provided by BagCheck, to transfer their luggage to and from Orlando International Airport. The catch? It’s only certain hotels, and only certain airlines. Luggage Service Currently, the list of airlines participating in this program is: American Airlines Southwest Airlines Delta Airlines As for the Disney World hotels participating, the list is: Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort Disney’s All-Star Music Resort Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort Disney’s Art of Animation Resort Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort (NEWLY ADDED!) Disney’s Pop Century Resort Luggage transfer in Disney World! Yes, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort is the newest addition to the list, and we’re hoping that means more hotels will soon be added. How does this work when you’re arriving at Disney World, you ask? Well, here are the steps to follow: Fill out the registration form for the Airport Luggage Transfer at Disney service anytime from 30 days to one day (24 hours) prior to your departure flight. You will need your Disney Resort confirmation number and your flight confirmation number when you register — be on the lookout for a confirmation email. If you registered more than 7 days before your flight, you will receive luggage tags in the mail. If you registered less than 7 days before your flight, you will not receive luggage tags, but your bags will still be delivered to your Disney Resorts Collection hotel. (Note: You will still be able to track your bags (via the link in your confirmation email) even without luggage tags.) Check in to your flight as normal and pay any necessary baggage fees. Head to the airport and follow the airline’s directions for dropping off luggage. When you arrive at Orlando International Airport, skip baggage claim and head directly to Walt Disney World Resort. Allow up to 4 hours from your flight’s arrival time for your luggage to arrive at your Disney Resorts Collection hotel. Once you arrive, you may pick up your bags from Luggage Assistance/Bell Services in the hotel lobby area. You may also use your in-room phone to contact Luggage Assistance/Bell Services to have your luggage delivered directly to your room. Gratuities are not included. There’s a QR code with more information! When it comes to leaving the hotel, these are the steps to follow: Check in for your flight online starting 24 hours prior to departure and pay any necessary baggage fees via your airline’s mobile app or website. For a more streamlined experience, leave all inbound tags on your bags. Your luggage must be delivered to Luggage Assistance/Bell Services between 24 hours and 4 hours prior to your flight’s departure time. You may drop your bags off yourself, or for your convenience, you may use your in-room phone to contact Luggage Assistance/Bell Services to have your luggage delivered directly to the drop-off area. Gratuities are not included. Bring a valid government-issued form of photo identification to the lobby area of your Disney Resorts Collection hotel, as you will need to show it, along with your boarding pass, in order for your luggage to be dropped off. Head to the airport, skip the check-in line, enjoy your flight, and pick up your bags at baggage claim when you arrive at your final destination. Orlando International Airport This is a great service for those who don’t want to deal with their luggage too much coming to and from their resort and the airport. We’ll be on the lookout to see if more airlines or hotels are added, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB! 3 New Rules to Know When Flying Economy to Disney World Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! If you’ve spent any time at Disney World’s Swan and Dolphin Resort, you know it occupies a pretty sweet spot in the World Showcase-adjacent neighborhood — walking distance to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but with its own incredible dining options. Swan and Dolpin Resort Operated by Marriott rather than Disney itself, the Swan and Dolphin has long been a favorite for guests who want easy park access alongside a lineup of restaurants that feel more like a night out than dining at a theme park. Lately, though, families have been booking dinner reservations here for a reason that has nothing to do with the food on their own plate. When you dine at select signature restaurants at the Swan and Dolphin, you can unlock two hours of complimentary childcare at Camp Dolphin, the resort’s supervised kids’ club for children ages 5 to 12. Camp Dolphin is open nightly from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and the program keeps kids busy with arts and crafts, movies, board games, video games, and nightly themed activities. A meal and a snack are included, too — so while parents are working through a tasting menu, their kids are getting their own dinner and entertainment at the same time. ©Disney Which Restaurants Qualify This offer isn’t resort-wide, so it’s worth knowing exactly where it applies. Camp Dolphin is complimentary with the purchase of an entrée at any of the following six restaurants: Todd English’s bluezoo Amare Il Mulino New York Trattoria Rosa Mexicano Bourbon Steak Kimonos That’s a genuinely varied lineup — coastal seafood, Italian classics, upscale Mexican, a steakhouse from a celebrity chef, and sushi and karaoke at Kimonos — so couples and families have real flexibility in choosing a cuisine for the night while still qualifying for the childcare credit. Rosa Mexicano Spread How to Redeem It The redemption process is refreshingly simple: order an entrée at one of the qualifying restaurants, hold onto your receipt, and bring it with you at pickup. That’s it. It’s worth noting that the offer is valid per kid, per entrée — so if you’re dining with multiple children, plan your order accordingly to make sure each child’s two hours is covered. Kimonos Why It’s Worth It For families who’ve tried to enjoy a slower, more indulgent dinner with young kids in tow, the appeal here is obvious. Two hours is enough time to actually finish a meal at a signature restaurant without rushing through it — and Camp Dolphin’s counselors are there to keep things safe and fun the whole time. As a bonus, kids leave with a take-home craft and get to pick their own snack, so it doesn’t feel like a consolation prize for being dropped off while the grown-ups eat. Because reservations are required for Camp Dolphin’s evening program, it’s a good idea to book your childcare slot at the same time you book your dining reservation, rather than trying to add it on last minute. Il Mulino Between the quality of the dining lineup and the built-in babysitting, it’s easy to see why reservations at the Swan and Dolphin have become a go-to move. 2 Universal Orlando Rides Will Be CLOSED in 2027
Disney4me posted a topic in Disney Food/Restaurants
Universal Orlando Resort is going to be a popular vacation destination in 2027! Islands of Adventure With the new theme park Universal Epic Universe (which opened in 2025) and the opening of the new Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift coaster at Universal Studios Florida (scheduled to open in 2027), there are several reasons to visit. But if you’ve already started planning your trip, you need to know about some ride closures. Two new ride closures have been added to the refurbishment calendar for 2027. First on the list is Popeye & Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges, which will be closed from January 4th through February 2nd. This ride is located at Islands of Adventure, and it typically closes in the winter for refurbishment, since it’s a water ride. Toon Lagoon Also added to the list of closures for the same park is Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, the ride located inside Hogwarts Castle. This one will be closed for the shorter window of February 8th through February 19th. Hogwarts at Universal Orlando The other 2027 ride closure you need to be aware of (that was previously announced) is Fyre Drill at Epic Universe. Like Popeye & Bluto’s, it’s a water ride, and gets an annual refurbishment in the winter. It will be closed from January 25th through February 4th. This ride will get you SOAKED It’s a good idea to check out the Universal Orlando refurbishment calendar on the website before you plan your visit. New rides, shows, restaurants, and experiences can be added at any time to the list, though Universal usually tries to give adequate notice for closures. Showing up at the parks to find that your favorite ride is closed would be surpremely disappointing, so make sure to do that research! Since its opening 40 years ago, The Living Seas Pavilion has long been a favorite of many fans due to its large aquarium and wide array of sea life. Even with the mid-2000s addition of Turtle Talk with Crush and overall retheme to The Seas with Nemo and Friends, much of the pavilion has barely changed since 1986. The Seas with Nemo and Friends However, recently something NEW just debuted at The Seas with Nemo and Friends that’s changing how many guests spend their time at the pavilion, and this brings about a new rule you MUST follow. EPCOT just introduced a new species of fish to its 5.7 m aquarium! The Napoleon Wrasse, a fish that the EPCOT aquarium has never had before, is indigenous to the Indo-Pacific area. A male Napoleon Wrasse can reach 90 inches long and 421 pounds. ©Disney Also known as a Humphead Wrasse due to the hump on the foreheads of adults of the species, they are endangered and are now protected in many countries. The Seas’ newest resident is named Toa after the Maori word meaning “warrior” or “victor.” ©Disney This new addition to The Living Seas provides a new reason to engage in one of our favorite pastimes at the pavilion: Taking some time to watch the animals swimming in the aquarium, while taking a moment to appreciate the beauty of nature… and air conditioning! Seriously, on a hot and busy day at the park, there are few things more centering than cooling down and observing the thousands of creatures that call the aquarium home. The Aquarium While you’re relaxing, it may be a good time to plan out where you’re eating later that day. Our Guide to Disney World Dining pulls it all together so you can stop stressing and focus on the fun without feeling like you’re missing a thing! Plus, as we’re approaching the holidays, you can also play a fun game of spotting all the new Holiday decorations that Disney sometimes slips into the tanks. Christmas Village So, the new rule? Take some time to visit the new resident at The Seas with Nemo and Friends! Stay tuned to DFB for more on everything NEW at Disney World. EPCOT has never been a park that sits still, and September is no different, as changes are hitting this park. EPCOT Between rotating festivals, shifting World Showcase marketplaces, and pavilions that always seem to have something new cooking, it can honestly be hard to keep track of what’s changing week to week. As summer winds down, September is shaping up to be one of EPCOT’s busier months yet, with a beloved restaurant going dark, a brand-new exhibit debuting, and a few festival favorites evolving. 1. Coral Reef Restaurant Is Closing If Coral Reef Restaurant is on your must-do list, you’ll want to hold off. The Seas with Nemo & Friends’ underwater dining room is set to temporarily close beginning September 8th, and Disney hasn’t given a specific reason why. A reopening is expected “later in 2026,” but no firm date has been announced. Coral Reef Restaurant This closure follows an earlier cutback at Coral Reef: back in January, the restaurant dropped lunch entirely and shifted to a dinner-only schedule. Between that change and now this closure, it’s worth wondering whether more permanent changes are ahead for this longtime spot. If you want one more meal beside the reef’s roughly 2,000 sea creatures, you’ll want to get a reservation in before September 8th. The windows are pretty iconic! 2. “Cheers to Cheese!” Exhibit Opens Cheese fans, this one’s for you. Starting September 18th and running through November 8, CommuniCore Hall will play host to “Cheers to Cheese!”. This is a NEW interactive exhibit coming to the festival this year! Guests can browse the “Cheers to Cheese!” exhibit, which explores the history of cheese with added fun facts. The exhibit arrives as part of the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival and pairs nicely with the returning Emile’s Fromage Montage food stroll, which sends guests around World Showcase to sample cheese-forward dishes and collect stamps along the way. Expect playful facts, photo ops, and plenty of puns for anyone who considers cheese its own personal food group. 3. A New Fireworks Dining Package at Shiki-Sai Over in the Japan Pavilion, Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya is rolling out a new Fireworks Dining Package, with reservations opening August 27th. The package centers on a set menu — an appetizer, traditional sashimi, a sushi selection, and an exclusive dessert and beverage only available with this option — enjoyed with upstairs views of World Showcase Lagoon as Luminous: The Symphony of Us lights up the sky around 9 PM. Shiki Sai Pricing breaks down like this: Ages 10+: $120 per person (about $149.50 after tax and gratuity) Ages 3–9: $60 per person (about $74.70 after tax and gratuity) However, when we checked the Disney World website page for the Shiki-Sai dining package later, it seemed to be gone from the site. That’s a steep price tag, and given Shiki-Sai’s small footprint and already-tough reservation windows, we wouldn’t be shocked if this books up quickly once it goes live. We’ll be watching closely to see when it will debute. Tokyo Negi Roll 4. Eat to the Beat’s Lineup Keeps Changing We know, we know — Eat to the Beat Concert Series technically kicks off on August 27th, so it’s not exactly “new” in September. BUT, because the lineup rotates throughout the festival’s run (nightly through November 16th), the artists taking the America Gardens Theatre stage in September will look pretty different from opening week. This year’s series brings in several EPCOT first-timers alongside returning crowd favorites. Dining Packages Sep 1-3: Evolution: Motown Sep 4-5: The War and Treaty (NEW) Sep 6-7: Yellowcard Sep 8-10: Fly Guys Sep 11-12: Couch (NEW) Sep 13-14: Fitz and the Tantrums (NEW) Sep 15-17: Latin Ambition Sep 18-19: MercyMe Sep 20-21: Grupo Manía (NEW) Sep 22-24: Metro Latino Band Sep 25-27: Element Sep 28-29: New Found Glory Sep 30: Smash Mouth Shows run three times nightly, seating is first-come-first-served, and admission is included with your EPCOT ticket — though a dining package is available if you’d rather lock in a seat (and a meal) ahead of time. End of the line all the way in Norway 5. Food & Wine Festival Rolls On Tying a lot of this together is the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival itself, running now through November 21st. September will have the festival in full swing, with dozens of Global Marketplaces serving up bites from around the world alongside returning favorites like Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak. Mexico Booth at Food & Wine Festival 2025 If you’re hoping to pair a festival visit with shorter lines, take note: EPCOT’s 2026 After Hours Events are wrapping up, with its final two nights of the year landing on September 16th and 24th. The separately ticketed event runs from 9:30 PM to 12:30 AM with early entry starting at 7 PM and includes complimentary snacks plus lower waits on popular attractions. Popcorn and water at EPCOT After Hours From a dining closure to a new festival exhibit to a splurge-worthy fireworks package, EPCOT is proving once again that no two visits look quite the same. We were not expecting this Disney change, and it’s safe to say we are pretty sad about it. ©Disney It has just been announced that the Play Disney Parks app is retiring next month. Scott Gustin shared on X that Disney is planning to retire this app starting on September 16th. In case you don’t know, the Play Disney Parks app powers many interactive games and experiences around both Disneyland and Disney World. Who Will Be a Trivia Master?! ©Disney This app has lots of trivia and games to play in line for attractions. However, it was best known for several interactive games, including Star Wars: Datapad, Batuu Bounty Hunters, and DuckTales World Showcase Adventure. These games allowed you to explore the parks and find actual hidden details that could interact with the app on your phone as you played the games. Our Bounty ©Disney Batuu Bounty Hunters will still be available even after the app is gone through MagicBand+ and the existing screens throughout the land, but Star Wars: Datapad will be gone with the app. And Disney has not yet shared whether DuckTales World Showcase Adventure will continue after the app is retired. So if you want to take advantage of the last few weeks of these games and experiences around the parks, make sure to do so soon because as of September 16th, the app will not be available to download and existing users will not be able to log in. @Scott Gustin We will continue to bring you all of the Disney news across both coasts, so stay tuned to Disney Food Blog so you never miss anything! We’re heading into one of the most popular times of year to visit EPCOT! EPCOT The International Food & Wine Festival is right around the corner, and it’s the time when this park’s dining SHINES. Many Disney fans plan trips simply to experience this festival! But if you’re heading to EPCOT in October, we’ve got a warning to share with you. In late October 2026, Disney World hosts the runDisney Wine & Dine Half Marathon in conjunction with the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival. Portions of the route for those races are located inside the theme parks, which means that these events can sometimes effect park hours. That’s the case for two days during the weekend at EPCOT. ©Disney On Friday, October 23rd and Sunday, October 25th, EPCOT will open an hour later than usual, starting at 10AM. Early Theme Park Entry for Disney Resort guests will be at 9:30AM. The park will still close at 9PM both of those days, so the park hours will be shorter than usual. Wine & Dine Merch from 2023 If you’re visiting during that weekend, you may want to plan around this schedule change if you’re hoping for maximum park hours. However, one thing we’ve noticed is that when park hours are shortened, the park is often a little less crowded. So perhaps, this could be the key to getting low wait times on rides? It may not be as effective, since it’s still a race weekend, but it’s worth a shot if you’re willing to gamble. Disney Springs has just announced on their Instagram that a new Hallmark Holiday Pop-Up is coming to the shopping and dining district in early October! Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party has officially kicked off in Disney World and, of course, we were there on opening night reviewing all of the new snacks, meeting exclusive characters, experiencing attraction overlays, and trick-or-treating! Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Treat Bag There are A LOT of things to do and remember at this special-ticketed event, so it’s common to make a mistake or two. While we were there on opening night, we saw some brutal mistakes, and we’re here to tell you about them, so you don’t make them, too. Watching the First Parade Mickey’s Boo to You! Halloween Parade has two showtimes throughout the night: 8:15 PM and 11:15 PM. While we get that you’re excited and want to see the parade as soon as possible, we recommend waiting until the second parade to watch. Guests with young children tend to leave the party earlier, causing the park to become less crowded. In the earlier months of the party, it will also still be light out with the sun setting later, so you won’t be able to watch the parade in full darkness. Although the second parade was still very crowded (more than in years past), it was still less crowded than the first showing. Mickey’s Boo to You! Halloween Parade 3 Popular Rides CHANGE During Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Waiting Until Last Minute to Find a Parade/Fireworks Spot These Halloween parties can get CROWDED, especially when it comes to live entertainment. If you want to guarantee a front-row spot to watch, we recommend arriving at least 30 minutes before their designated showtimes. In the past, the second Halloween parade was much less crowded than the first, but this year it was way more crowded — so crowded that even one person may find it hard to find a spot closer to showtime. So, if you want to guarantee your spot, show up early because you may not find one otherwise. Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular It’s a SOLD OUT Night at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, and You Can Tell Trick-or-Treating When the Party Begins One of the best parts of the Halloween party is getting free candy at the trick-or-treat spots around the park, but we recommend waiting a bit before you start. Use the start of the party to try the exclusive food offerings like the Graveyard Hot Chicken and Waffle at Sleepy Hollow or the Hades Cake Pop at the Lunching Pad. The reason you should grab food over going trick-or-treating is that some of these spots close earlier than the party ends. But don’t wait until the last minute to do your trick-or-treating either! We saw long lines for candy five minutes before the end of the night. Let’s go trick-or-treating! Disney Just UPGRADED Trick-Or-Treating at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Getting in Line for Jack Skellington & Sally at 4 PM In the past, we’ve always recommended getting in line to meet Jack Skellington and Sally as soon as possible, especially if you have a day ticket to the park. However, we’re saying the opposite this year! When their line opened at 4 PM, Jack and Sally had a whopping 120-minute wait! This wait decreased as the party went on, so if they’re not on your priority list, we’d recommend waiting until later in the party to meet them. Jack Skellington and Sally! FULL LIST of All the Characters You Can Find at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party This Year! Buying Merchandise at the Start of the Party The merchandise for this year’s party is absolutely STUNNING; however, we’d recommend waiting until later in the party to grab it. If there’s something you think will sell out, like limited edition pins, feel free to grab those at the start — they’re small enough to fit in your bag anyway! But other merchandise like shirts and bags will likely be available by the end of the night, especially if you’re going to an earlier party in August or September. You don’t want to be lugging around a shopping bag the whole night, do you? Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Crossbody Loungefly Ready Your Wallets! Here’s A Look At The Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2026 Souvenirs Watching the Hocus Pocus Villains Spelltacular Before Midnight There are multiple showings of the Hocus Pocus Villains Spelltacular throughout the night, but one of those showings is actually when the party ends at midnight. This is about a 20-minute show, so if you have enough gas in the tank left when that midnight showing comes around, we recommend seeing that one. This way, you won’t have to spend party time watching it, and you’ll get to stay to watch after the party officially ends! Other showtimes include 9:05 PM and 10:35 PM, with an additional show at 7:35 PM added starting October 1st. Here at Disney Food Blog, we keep you informed of all Disney news. Josh D’Amaro at Destination D23, 2023 ©Disney And today we will discuss Josh D’Amaro’s response to ongoing threats from the FCC. The Daily Beast has reported that the FCC, or the Federal Communications Commission, has issued several threats to ABC shows such as Jimmy Kimmel: Live! and The View. And at D23 this year, Disney CEO Josh D’Amaro spoke up: “Our position on this is clear. We’re very principled on this. We’re going to stand up to what we believe is journalistic integrity. And we’re not going to be told how to run that side of our business. Our filings, I think, speak for that. I like what we do. We tell incredible stories. I think we do it well. We do it around the world. And we’re going to stay committed to that.” Josh D’Amaro at SXSW 2023 ©Disney This statement comes months after the FCC review of eight local ABC shows, as well as The View, began. The FCC ordered these reviews back in April, soon after the current Administration was calling for the dismissal of Jimmy Kimmel. FCC Chairman Carr has also claimed that these reviews are a part of a larger investigation into Disney’s DEI policies. ©Jimmy Kimmel Live! However, the story does not end here. Variety has reported that ABC has filed a First Amendment lawsuit against the FCC. According to ABC’s lawyers, they had “no alternative means to eliminate these ongoing and immediate threats other than total capitulation to the Administration’s demands.” ©ABC We will continue to keep you informed on how this situation unfolds, so stay tuned to Disney Food Blog so you do not miss anything. We are still pinching ourselves after the Disney Experiences Showcase at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, because, well, did that really happen? Did we finally get some new details about all these lands and rides and THE YETI GETTING FIXED and DREAMFINDER RETURNING? Yes, our minds are still blown. ©Disney During that presentation, though, Disney also dropped a TON of new details about the upcoming Villains Land in Magic Kingdom, and well, in case you didn’t have a chance to keep up with it all (because there was a LOT of information coming at us FAST), we’re going to list the Villains Land announcements you need to know. The Name The first thing Disney confirmed for the Villains Land was the name. Now, Disney just decided to go with something simple, and well, it’s just that: the Villains Land is going to be called “Villains Land.” It’s easy to remember, right? ©Disney It makes sense, though. Every other land in Magic Kingdom ends with “land,” so this one should, too, even if it’s bringing a darker edge to Magic Kingdom. Storyline Disney also shared details about the land’s storyline, and let’s just say, we weren’t kidding when we said it’s darker. Here’s how it goes: a Wishing Well was once used for an evil wish that was so bad it corrupted the well, tearing it apart. Poisoned magic spilled from the well into the forest, which has tempted the Villains to come here to try and claim that power for themselves. ©Disney The Villains used the dark magic to create their lairs, which you will see in the land, and now invite you to try a “tantalizing trove of treats, trinkets, and more temptations.” The land is also going to be MASSIVE, and Disney compared it to the size of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Maleficent Coaster We also learned about one of the thrill rides in Villains Land, a Maleficent-themed roller coaster. This will be one of two attractions in the area, in addition to shops and restaurants. The coaster will bring you face-to-face with Maleficent and have you racing through the enchanted briar that surrounds her fortress. ©Disney Disney also teased that the roller coaster would use technology and elements that Disney has never attempted before on similar rides. Magic Mirror Dark Ride The second ride will be a dark ride (with the concept art suggesting a boat ride) that will start in the catacombs of the Evil Queen’s palace. There you’ll find the Magic Mirror and travel through it to meet a bevy of Disney Villains, such as Jafar, Dr. Facilier, Ursula, Cruella, and Scar. ©Disney Disney will be using a combination of special effects and physical set pieces to bring this ride and its Villains to life. We are so excited for Villains Land to open, but Disney hasn’t confirmed any sort of opening timeline, so we probably have quite a bit to wait. Make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more Disney news. Close-Up Look at the NEW Villains Land Coaster Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox!
