If you’ve ever wondered what it would feel like to have shrunk to the size of a toy, Toy Story Hotel at Shanghai Disney Resort brings that adventure to life. Inspired by Disney and Pixar’s beloved Toy Story films, the hotel surrounds you with larger-than-life storytelling at every turn, from iconic character-inspired details and themed spaces to immersive experiences. And with Toy Story 5 now in theaters, there has never been a better time to join Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, and the rest of the gang at Toy Story Hotel! Step Into Andy’s Toy Box From the moment you arrive, it feels as though you have stepped straight into the world of a toy. Even before entering the hotel, the two hotel wings create an infinity-shaped silhouette from above as a tribute to Buzz Lightyear’s famous “To infinity and beyond!” to the iconic blue sky-and-cloud pattern that transforms the exterior. Passing through an entrance designed to resemble oversized toy packaging, you’ll discover building-block columns, game board-inspired flooring, whimsical furnishings, and character artwork that create the feeling of being part of Andy’s toy collection. Even the directional signs are styled to classic toys, while oversized Chinese kites featuring Toy Story characters add a special touch, blending Disney storytelling with Chinese artistry in a way that is uniquely Shanghai Disney Resort. Woody and Buzz Lightyear Courtyards The larger-than-life storytelling continues outside in two immersive courtyards inspired by Andy’s favorite toys. In Woody Courtyard, a towering statue of Woody riding Bullseye welcomes you into a landscape filled with colorful details, including a Pizza Planet rocket inhabited by the Aliens. Just across the hotel, Buzz Lightyear Courtyard invites you to report for duty with Star Command. Anchored by an oversized Buzz Lightyear figure, the space celebrates Buzz’s intergalactic adventures through futuristic design elements that transport you to infinity and beyond. Toy Story-Themed Rooms and Suites The playful storytelling does not stop when it is time to recharge. Each guest room is designed as an extension of Andy’s bedroom, surrounding you with bright colors, signature cloud wallpaper, character-inspired artwork, and imaginative details that celebrate the world of Toy Story. Look closely and you will spot nods to favorite characters, from Slinky Dog to the Aliens, woven throughout the decor. For those looking for an even more immersive stay, Buzz Lightyear rooms, Woody and Jessie rooms, and Toy Box family suites add themed details and extend the storytelling. Dining at Toy Story Hotel When it’s time to grab a bite to eat, Sunnyside Café offers a bright setting inspired by the daycare center from Toy Story 3. The menu features a mix of Chinese and Western favorites, making it an easy choice for families and groups with a variety of tastes. Just steps away, Sunnyside Market also offers convenient grab-and-go selections, from quick breakfasts before heading to the park to snacks and beverages to enjoy throughout the day. Souvenir Shopping at Lotso Shop Located just off the lobby, Lotso Shop features a shopping experience inspired by Lotso from Toy Story 3. Inside, you’ll find a selection of apparel, merchandise, and themed souvenirs, including exclusive items available only at Shanghai Disney Resort. It is the perfect place to commemorate your visit with a practical travel item or a special keepsake. Let the Kids Play For younger toys-in-training, The Play Room is the perfect space for kids to explore, create, and let their imaginations run wild. We love going to Epic Universe in Universal Orlando. Where else can you race Mario, ride dragons, fight monsters, and battle wizards all in one day? But there’s one thing we love more than riding the rides – all of the food! Frosted Owl Sundae As soon as we saw this pop up on the menu, we had to run to Epic Universe and try it ASAP. Spoiler alert: this little guy is one of our new favorite frozen treats in the park! The Frosted Owl Sundae is $15.99 at Frosty Moon. This is chocolate-hazelnut and vanilla ice cream layered with marshmallow topping, graham crackers, and a toasted marshmallow, served in a souvenir owl cup. We’ve seen these online in a clear owl cup, but a team member told us that it comes in gold like this when the clear cups sell out. Frosted Owl Sundae The ice cream tastes exactly like a s’more. The soft serve is Nutella-flavored, so it’s chocolately and nutty, then the vanilla soft serve is mixed with marshmallow fluff to make it super sweet and creamy, and the crushed graham crackers add the taste with some crunch. Frosted Owl Sundae We saw the Frosted Owl Sundae all over our social media until we finally caved and tried it, and now we can say that it’s worth the viral hype. For $16, it tastes amazing, and the souvenir cup is an awesome bonus for the price. If you’re a s’mores fan, then this is the ice cream for you! If you want to try it yourself, head over to Frosty Moon in Celestial Park at Epic Universe. Frosty Moon If one treat isn’t enough to satisfy your sweet tooth, you’re in luck! Satellite Shakes just opened in Celestial Park and serves up even more delicious frozen treats. You know we immediately ordered the Captain Cacao’s Starlight Voyage, which is a chocolate shake layered with ganache, marshmallows, blackberry syrup, and praline crunch. Oh, and it’s topped with chocolate whipped topping, blue starlight ribbon, and Captain Cacao’s signature hat. Whew — it’s a lot, but it was tasty! Read our full review here. Captain Cacao’s Starlight Voyage This Frosted Owl Sundae is officially one of our new favorite treats at Epic Universe. Stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more theme park food reviews! When you work at Disney World, there are certain rules Cast Members have to follow, and some of them may be very surprising. Disney World Cast Member Some of the rules are obvious — you can’t be on your phone while you’re on stage (unless it’s an emergency, of course), you have to be dressed nicely, you have to be respectful to the people around you, etc. But some things are a little less clear, specifically regarding the shoes you have to wear. Here are the harsh shoe rules Disney World Cast Members must follow. Instead of boring uniforms, Disney World employees — better known as Cast Members — wear costumes. Not only are they working at the theme parks and resorts, but they are a part of it, making magic for the visiting guests. Magic Kingdom Cast Member And when it comes to the costumes, there are two categories of Cast Members — Costumed and Non-Costumed Cast Members. Costumed Cast Members are those whom guests will typically see. Those Cast Members are the ones given a specific costume to wear “on-stage,” AKA anywhere guests have access to be in Disney World. These costumes may be specific to a certain land, show, attraction, role, etc. Custodial Cast Member Non-Costumed Cast Members are those who are typically behind the scenes and cannot traditionally be seen by the regular guests. These costumes may include chefs, behind-the-scenes entertainment Cast Members, etc. Magic Kingdom Cast Member When it comes to the footwear Cast Members wear, Disney has specific rules each person must follow, Costumed or Non-Costumed. This is known as “Disney Look.” That means being the most presentable and well-put-together you can. Every role and location can differ, but Cast Members can check with the Costuming Module in The Hub (Disney’s online resource for company employees) or with their leader to ensure proper style and color. Main Street Bakery Cast Members For Costumed Cast Members, these are a few rules that must be followed: Shoes must be kept clean and in good condition at all times Dress shoes must be solid in color “with minimal contrasting logos or markings and made of a polishable material” Athletic shoes must be solid in color with minimal contrasting logos It’s recommended that shoes be slip-resistant Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Cast Members For Non-Costumed Cast Members, their rules are as follows: Shoes or boots must be appropriate for your business/unit location Sandals are not permitted Dress shoes are permitted to “have contrast soles, an open toe, open heel and/or sling back” Magic Kingdom Cast Member However, one of our team members who worked in food and beverage at Disney World said something different than one of the rules above. She said that even though it’s only recommended, most Cast Members — specifically the ones working in food and beverage — actually NEED to have slip-resistant shoes. We love Cast Members! There are a few ways to get shoes that are approved, through Disney itself or by being REALLY careful when purchasing your own. Our team member opted to get them through Disney because she just thought it was easier, especially when you are working in a location that needs to be “in story.” EPCOT Cast Member There are also specific rules for specific costumes. For example, if you have to wear black shoes, you MUST wear black socks, and those socks can’t be too tall! Not only could you get in trouble for wearing the wrong shoes, but you could also get in trouble for wearing the wrong socks! Magic Kingdom Cast Members Cast Members have A LOT of rules they have to follow, and it’s all to make magic for you! So, the next time you pass a Cast Member, be sure to thank them and tell them that they’re doing a great job! And stay tuned to DFB for more Disney news like this! We go to Disney World every day. Yep, we’re living the dream. A lot of what we do, though, is search for new things, stuff we haven’t seen on previous days. That’s how we keep you updated on everything, after all. Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom So what kind of things are we looking for? Well, we’re always on the lookout for new merchandise (so you can be on the lookout for those perfect souvenir finds for your next visit), but we also keep an eye on construction and other updates in the parks and at the hotels. Most recently, we visited seven Disney World parks and hotels, and we have a ton of new things to share with you as a result. So let’s get started! EPCOT We made our way around EPCOT, stopping in what may be one of our favorite gift shops in the parks, Creations Shop. For those of you who are all about the ears (okay, it’s us, too), we found some very pretty Happy Birthday Ears. Look at how sparkly they are! Birthday Ears Well, sparkly must be the trend right now, because we spotted another pair of Iridescent Sequin Ears that could plus up any outfit. You can also snag these online right now! So sparkly We also spent some time visiting EPCOT bathrooms, because we literally DO go everywhere when we visit Disney World, and that includes the bathrooms. So we’ve been spotting the Aunt Flow free feminine hygiene product machines throughout EPCOT, including in the American Adventure Pavilion bathrooms, the Morocco bathrooms, and more. Actually, we’re starting to see these throughout Disney World now, although some of the new machines haven’t been filled yet. They’re free How about collecting some pins from around the WORLD? Well, you can grab some World Showcase Country Pins at World Traveler, which will make you look like, well, like a world traveler! New pins! Gotta’ love a place that lets you shop, eat, and drink around the world. Disney’s Animal Kingdom We made our way over to Jumping Junction at Bluey’s Wild World at Conservation Station to check up on the kangaroos. This area isn’t completely open yet for visitors because the kangaroos need time to adjust to being around people. Look at these sweet babies! However, we noticed that Cast Members were starting to take slightly bigger groups through the experience to see these little guys, so it’s only a matter of time. They’ll be growing up and getting braver every day. Magic Kingdom Over at Curtain Call, two new medieval princess hats have arrived, including a Daisy Princess Hat… Daisy Princess Hat …and a Rapunzel Princess Hat. These are so much fun, and they’re the perfect thing to wear to Fantasyland! Rapunzel Princess Hat However, we also spotted some new hats that have us questioning some things. So here’s a Daisy Hat. And as you can see, it’s got a big Daisy head that sits on YOUR head. Fine, right? Daisy Hat There’s even a Donald Hat, too. And again, it seems okay… Donald Hat But then things get weird because the hats are made so that there are tiny little Donald and Daisy bodies hanging from the back. Um…Disney, are you okay? Do you need an intervention? Um…what’s going on here? Okay, let’s not talk about that anymore. Anyway, we also spotted a new pressed penny machine in the shop! New Pressed Penny Machine So you now have even more new pressed pennies to collect in Magic Kingdom! Disney’s BoardWalk Inn The ex-Big River Grill and Brewing Works location now has more construction walls up around it. What’s going on here? The old Jellyrolls had a truck moving stuff in and out of the building, but we didn’t see any sign of furniture. Mostly, we just saw wood planks. The old Jellyrolls building However, insulation has been installed in the wall. This location is set to become a new lounge called Hurly Burly. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort We don’t know what’s happening over at Kona Island, but macarons have been replaced with macaroons. We’re not sure why, and it doesn’t seem like there was a demand for coconut macaroons, but here we are. They are a little easier to bake, though, so maybe that’s it. Macaroons There’s also a cupcake available to celebrate the live-action Moana movie. It’s the Pua Aloalo, which is a vanilla cupcake with hibiscus-lychee mousse for $6.79. Sounds interesting! New cupcake! Whew…we see a lot just in one day when we’re visiting Disney World, but now you have an idea of just how busy our days can be, on top of reporting all the latest news Disney drops throughout the day. We’ll continue to keep you updated on all things Disney, so stay tuned to DFB for more. We’re big on collecting things, especially Disney merchandise. Sometimes it’s pins; other times it’s plushes, but in this case? Yep, we’re about to collect a BUNCH of Funko POPs, and we can’t wait. ©Amazon There’s an incredible new Disney Funko POP collection online that we’re obsessed with. Not because of the characters themselves, though we do love that the collection focuses on the Disney Villains and matching heroes, but because of the beautiful decorative stained glass behind each one! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Mirror Mirror On The Wall! ©Amazon If you have a soft spot in your heart for the very first Disney feature film, then you’ll love the Evil Queen Stained Glass Window Funko POP. She’s all decked out in her royal attire, and she’s got her sidekick raven right beside her. The stained glass behind her features Snow White and her birds, which is such a fantastic contrast. Grab it on Amazon! We Can’t Forget Snow! ©Amazon If you want to complete the set, you can pick up the Snow White Stained Glass Window Funko POP, which is the reverse of the above. Snow White stands with her rabbit friend in front of a stained glass window featuring the Evil Queen, complete with her poison apple. It’s gorgeous! Grab it on Amazon! With One Prick of A Finger… ©Amazon Keeping with the protagonist theme, you can also grab the Sleeping Beauty Stained Glass Window Funko POP. Behind her, the stained glass has Maleficent high above her, looking like she’s watching over Sleeping Beauty in the woods. It’s creepy and spooky in the best way! Grab it on Amazon! Every Story Has A Villain ©Amazon Maleficent is widely viewed as one of the most terrifying Disney Villains of all time, and even in Funko POP form, we can see why! The Maleficent Stained Glass Window Funko POP shows her in all her glory, including her black and purple wardrobe, and the way the stained glass behind her really enhances the terror she invokes. Sleeping Beauty watches from above, having no idea what danger is coming her way! Grab it on Amazon! The Queen of The Sea ©Amazon It’s not a Villains collection if we don’t have Ursula, and the Ursula Stained Glass Window Funko POP may be one of our favorites! She stands in front of her cauldron, ready to cast a spell, and holds a potion bottle in one of her hands. The stained glass behind her also features Flotsam and Jetsam, which we think is a fun addition. Grab it on Amazon! Aaaand The Princess of The Sea! ©Amazon We absolutely love the Ariel Stained Glass Window Funko POP, because of how different and colorful she is compared to Ursula! Ariel sits on the pink rock as she watches the world above. Some of her underwater friends swim on the bottom of the stained glass behind her, while Ursula takes over the top. Grab it on Amazon! We’ll continue to keep you updated on all the latest Disney merchandise news, so stay tuned to DFB! View the full article

We’re just a few months away from the start of holiday travel, which means it’s time to start planning your vacations and booking those flights! Holiday Crowds Can Get BIG! Luckily for folks flying into Florida from Texas and North Carolina, your life just got a whole lot easier because two new nonstop routes have been added! Here’s everything you need to know about Avelo Airlines’ new nonstop flight routes. This November, Avelo Airlines will add two new nonstop flight routes from Tampa International Airport (TPA) — one to McKinney National Airport (DTX — Dallas/McKinney) and another to the Concord-Padgett Regional Airport (USA — Charlotte/Concord). Service from TPA to DTX will begin on November 19th, and service from TPA to USA will begin on November 20th. ©Avelo Airlines DTX is located near Dallas and its northern suburbs, making this airport a great option for Tampa residents to fly into with fewer crowds and commotion. The Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) is a whopping 17,000 acres, while DTX is just about 7,000. ©McKinney National Airport Meanwhile, USA is just minutes from the Charlotte metropolitan area and Charlotte Motor Speedway. It’s a great alternative for Tampa residents to fly into if they want to escape the holiday crowds since Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) is nearly 4,000 acres larger than USA. ©Concord-Padgett Regional Airport Avelo Airlines is continuing to expand its routes within TPA — offering affordable and convenient travel options to airports both large and small. The airline has been flying at TPA since late 2021 and currently offers flights to three destinations — New Haven, CT, Wilmington, DE, and Wilmington, NC, with the addition of these two cities later this year. ©Avelo Airlines So, if you’re looking for a more affordable solution to your travels this holiday season, this is a great alternative to the larger airports. Efteling, one of Europe’s most popular theme parks — and one of our favorites — just announced another NEW attraction. ©Efteling Get ready to go on an exciting journey of light, speed, and adventure in Missie Luminar, Efteling’s first suspended launch coaster. Are you ready for the mission of the century? The new coaster is set to debut in 2029, and we’ve got all the details! Missie Luminar will be the first suspended launch coaster at Efteling, where the vehicles hang below the track and are launched on takeoff. Riders will become “missionauts,” who start their expedition in a scientific institute. Here, riders will get instructions about the mission before boarding their vehicles with 17 other missionauts. ©Efteling The real adventure starts with a spectacular launch. The intense ride will last more than two minutes and will be full of speed, surprising elements, and several moments of weightlessness. Will you manage to reach the ultimate goal and break the light barrier? Around the attraction, you’ll be able to “feel the atmosphere of wondrous natural phenomena, experiments, and 19th-century journeys of discovery.” Efteling Missie Luminar’s top speed will reach up to 80 kmh (around 50 mph), but Efteling CEO Fons Jurgens says it might even feel faster to riders. He continued, “It’s going to be unique and special, also because of the location. Missie Luminar is an addition to the theme area, The Island of the Five Senses. Visitors will see the speeding vehicles as soon as they enter to start their day at Efteling. We’ll need to be patient a bit longer, but we’re already looking forward to the first reactions from our visitors.” Joris en de Draak at Efteling This isn’t the only new attraction coming to Efteling, either! Earlier this year, the park confirmed major changes were coming to the Raveleijn area of the park, which they said would be “completely transformed with a new storyline, decor and impressive show effects,” including a new open-air “rotating flying experience” attraction. ©Efteling Ravenring will be a horizontally rotating wheel in which 36 visitors per ride will take their seats in one of the 18 winged vehicles, inspired by the ravens of Raveleijn. The ride’s storyline revolves around recruiting “new heroes” to continue protecting the city of Raveleijn in the future by taking part in a “flying ritual reserved only for true heroes.” After their flight, guests will discover which of the five magical elements suits them best: blue for water, red for fire, green for wood, brown for earth, and purple for metal. With the release of Moana 2 in 2024 and the live-action Moana this week, it’s no surprise that we received news of another movie in this franchise in the works. ©Disney At a recent press conference, Dwayne Johnson — who plays Maui in both the animated and live-action films — teased the addition of a third Moana film, and we’re here to tell you everything we know! At a promotional event in Brazil for the live-action Moana, Dwayne Johnson confirmed that a third movie for the franchise is in the making. In a recent article published by Variety, Johnson was quoted as saying, “Yes, we have talked about Moana 3, yes. But first, live-action Moana, we’ll let that come out first. We have [the] amazing Jared Bush and Dana Ledoux Miller, who have been our writers…they will pen Moana 3.” ©D23 — Auli’i Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson at D23 in 2024 Johnson and Auli’i Cravalho are expected to return to their roles as Maui and Moana, respectively. The plot details have yet to be revealed for the third film [SPOILER ALERT FOR MOANA 2 AHEAD]… ©Disney …but we can guess that it will follow Moana’s journey as a demigod after her restoration turned transition at the end of Moana 2. The songwriter for the third film is also unclear at this point — Lin-Manuel Miranda wrote several hit songs for the first film, but didn’t return for the second, passing the songwriting duties to Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear. ©Disney We’re excited to see what’s to come from this new film, but in the meantime, head to your local theatre starting July 10th to return to the fictional island of Motunui for Disney’s live-action remake of the original film! Is LEGOLAND Florida worth adding to your family’s vacation plans? Let’s take a look! LEGOLAND We know that vacationing at Disney World is a tried-and-true tradition for tons of families out there. But if you’re normally a “Disney World family,” could switching things up with a visit to LEGOLAND be worth it for you? Here’s what we learned on our recent visit to the park! Let’s be real, vacation time and budget are precious, and we know just how much pressure there can be to create a great experience for your family. With that in mind, it often feels tough to switch things up, especially when there’s a vacation destination you know your family loves! Which is one reason why so many people keep coming back to Disney World again and again (it’s us, we’re people). If you’re a “Disney family” wondering whether you should take the plunge and visit LEGOLAND the next time you’re in the Orlando area, here are some things to consider! LEGO animatronic First, there’s no universally “right” answer as to where you should vacation — the answer to that question will come down to what your family’s top priorities are, and what options best fit your preferences and budget! The Galacticoaster One of the most important things to consider when deciding which theme parks to work into your itinerary is the ages of the children you’re traveling with and the types of attractions they’ll enjoy. LEGOLAND was designed specifically for families with children ages 2-12, with more than 50 rides, shows & attractions to experience around the resort. If your kiddos are on the younger side and are too small for lots of the rides at the other parks, LEGOLAND could be a great alternative with plenty of things to do just for them! Ceremony of the Ninja It’s also one of the most affordable parks in the area, with LEGOLAND tickets starting from $69 per person per day. Plus, in addition to LEGOLAND theme park and water park tickets, they also offer tickets that come with admission to several other experiences in the area, including the Peppa Pig Theme Park, which is just a 5-minute walk from the LEGOLAND park! Between the LEGOLAND theme park, LEGOLAND water park, the Peppa Pig Theme Park, and the Sea Life Florida Aquarium, families can easily spend multiple days at the resort without repeating experiences. Welcome to Peppa Pig Theme Park Speaking of that short walk to the Peppa Pig Theme Park, LEGOLAND was designed to be easily walkable and require minimal transportation. They offer three on-site hotels with family-friendly amenities so you can be within walking distance of all of the attractions during your stay. Shipwreck Restaurant at Pirate Island Hotel There are also seasonal events and entertainment for popular holidays like Halloween and Christmas. Plus, since LEGOLAND was designed to meet the needs of families with younger kids, the park’s Halloween “Brick-or-Treat” event is one of the less-spooky seasonal entertainment options around the area. LEGOLAND Florida Again, only you can answer the question of “is it worth a visit” based on YOUR family’s priorities and preferences! But if you’re traveling with young children and are looking for a resort with multiple parks and attractions designed for them to enjoy, all within walking distance, LEGOLAND might be right up your alley! Christmas at LEGOLAND We’ll continue to report back with more info to help you plan your next vacation to the Orlando theme parks and beyond, so stick with us at Disney Food Blog for the latest updates! If you’re heading to Disney World in the summertime, we’ve got to WARN you. Magic Kingdom The weather in Florida in the summertime can be incredibly brutal. With intense UV indexes and high levels of humidity, plus frequent rainstorms, you’re in for a wild and sweaty ride. And this week, Disney World is under a heat advisory. Fox 35 reports that the Saharan Dust has arrived in the Central Florida area, lowering the air quality and decreasing the amount of moisture in the air. With the dust, the chances of afternoon storms will decrease, which means there are fewer opportunities to cool of that hot sun. Stormy day in EPCOT Temperature highs will be in the upper 90s, but the “feels like” temperatures will be reaching near 110ºF. The temperatures will be about 5ºF above the average high and the average low for this time of year. Because of this, heat advisories are in place for most of the Central Florida region. Disney’s Hollywood Studios So if you’re heading to Disney World soon, there are a few things to keep in mind. Most important of all is that you need to HYDRATE! Bring a refillable water bottle and get ice water for free at spots around the parks that have beverage fountains. Also, make sure you wear your sunscreen because the UV index is intense. Water Bottle Refill Station Take plenty of breaks by going indoors in the air conditioning — maybe sit down at a theater show or do a restaurant reservation. If you have small children, make sure you have a stroller fan to keep them cool, and be on the lookout for signs of heat illness with anyone in your party. A necessity! We’ll keep you in the loop with any more updates on the weather, so stay tuned to DFB for the latest. We’re officially intrigued by the code name on this mysterious Disney World project! Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular If there’s one thing we’ve learned over decades of visiting the parks, it’s that things are constantly changing around Disney World! Sometimes we can get hints about upcoming changes based on permits that are filed for construction work around the resort. And we recently spotted a construction permit with an interesting code name that we can’t stop thinking about! Let’s take a closer look at the mysterious permit recently filed for Disney’s Hollywood Studios! Disney Has Filed Permits for “Project Fedora” Back in May, Disney filed construction permits for a mysterious project in Hollywood Studios under the code name “Project Fedora.” The permit filings show that the work is happening near the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular — a character who just so happens to be famous for wearing, that’s right, a fedora! ©Central Florida Tourism Oversight District The initial permits were filed for “general construction,” and we also spotted a permit with the description “install signage.” The contractor listed on the signage permit is Kentavo, which Disney has worked with in the past to install signage in EPCOT. Indiana Jones in Disney’s Hollywood Studios The most recent permit gives the contractor until June 10th, 2027, to complete the work, but we don’t think it will take quite that long. We have spotted some construction work and barriers happening around the Indiana Jones Theater, so it looks like things are underway! Construction Work in Hollywood Studios With only an interesting set of clues to go on so far, we’re officially fascinated with figuring out this mysterious new project! What is “Project Fedora”? Disney hasn’t made any announcements about what’s coming to the space, which is only further fueling our curiosity! But, even though we don’t have an official word on what it will be, we can make some guesses based on the context clues. Project Fedora Construction First, between the location near the exit of Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular and the code name that references Indy’s famous accessory, it seems like Project Fedora is probably related to Indiana Jones. Indiana Jones Also, since it’s tucked into an area surrounded by other buildings, attractions, and walkways, it doesn’t seem like it will be anything massive, like a brand-new attraction. In other words, we aren’t expecting something as immersive as Monstropolis, which is also currently under construction on the other side of the park. Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular So, what potential options are we looking at for Project Fedora? It could be an enhancement related to the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular itself, since the permits show the location just off to the side of the theater. Indiana Jones Or, it could be a new location, like a snack stand or a souvenir stall. It’s less likely than the other options, but there’s an outside chance that it could also house a character meet-and-greet. Project Fedora Construction The “Project Fedora” code name and construction location have us confident that the work is Indiana Jones-related, but without any official announcements from Disney yet, our minds are continuing to run wild with the clues we’ve got to work with! We’ll be on the lookout for more news about Project Fedora and all the other projects happening around Disney World, so stick with us at DFB for the latest updates! If you’ve been to Disney’s Animal Kingdom lately, then odds are you’ve visited Bluey’s Wild World. This new section in Animal Kingdom is dedicated to everyone’s favorite Australian Blue Heeler, Bluey, and hosts some Australian kangaroos and wallabies, too! Jumping Junction Jumping Junction, the petting zoo in Bluey’s Wild World, isn’t actually a petting zoo yet. When the land first opened, it wasn’t open because the animals needed to get acclimatized. But when we visited yesterday, Jumping Junction made a massive leap towards opening! Jumping Junction will eventually become a petting zoo where you can meet Australian kangaroos and wallabies up close and personal, but the animals need to be acclimatized and comfortable around people before it fully opens as a petting zoo. In early June, Disney began offering Cast Member-guided walking tours of the habitat for about 5-10 people per group to help the animals become more comfortable around humans. But that number just increased! Kangaroos! Now, you can take up to 15 people on your walking tour! If you have smaller parties, you will still be combined with other groups, like other attractions. When we visited in groups of five, the line was looong, so we were so excited that we only waited five minutes today because they’re able to take more people at a time! The 5-minute line Despite being in a larger group, it still felt intimate, and we could still hear our guide clearly. Our guide told us that if we want to see more activity, to come in the morning, which we already have plans for! They also explained that all of the kangaroos and wallabies are still growing, which will make the experience more exciting over the next few years. We’re officially crossing “watch a baby kangaroo grow up” off our bucket lists! There they are! Jumping Junction will fully open as a petting zoo on an unspecified date in the near future. We’ll be sure to update you on any changes that hit the attraction. Stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more Disney World news! FULL GUIDE to Visiting Bluey’s Wild World in Disney World! If you’re taking a trip to Disney World or Disneyland this November, you’ll want to listen up because some rides will be changing. Haunted Mansion Holiday Some rides at Disney World and Disneyland get special overlays for the holidays (can you even believe it’s almost that time of year again?!) Here is every ride that has CONFIRMED a ride overlay this holiday season! Disneyland Starting over in Disneyland in Anaheim, California, there are FOUR rides receiving a holiday makeover. Haunted Mansion Holiday This one is one of the most well-known holiday overlays when it comes to Disney rides. The attraction changes from the Grim Grinning Ghosts to a world of the classic film The Nightmare Before Christmas. Guests can expect festive scenes, updated decor, holiday-themed music, and popular characters from the film alongside some familiar Haunted Mansion ghosts. Haunted Mansion Holiday Overlay Disney also shared some details about this year’s overlay that will excite some big Imagineering fans! The Oogie Boogie Audio-Animatronic has been updated with an adjusted pose and silhouette! Also noted is that the holiday version of Madame Leota uses the face of Kim Irvine, an Imagineer and daughter of Leota Toombs — the original Madame Leota! Haunted Mansion Holiday Overlay CONFIRMED: 2 NEW Closures Begin in Disneyland Next Month “it’s a small world” This transformed attraction for the holidays features a ride through the Seven Seaways canal with each region in the ride celebrating the holidays in their own distinct ways — from Mele Kalikimaka to Feliz Navidad. The ride is decked out in gorgeous Christmas lights and blends classic holiday songs — like “Jingle Bells” and “Deck the Halls” — with the attraction’s theme song “It’s a Small World (After All).” “it’s a small world” Holiday Overlay Disneyland Has a Harsh Deadline for This HUGE Ride Change — Will They Make It? Mater’s Jingle Jamboree Over in Cars Land in Disney’s California Adventure, Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree will become Mater’s Jingle Jamboree and will feature a collection of seasonal tunes. Not only will you get that, but you’ll get some versions with Mater’s own original lyrics. The attraction will be filled with garland, lights, and decor! Mater’s Jingle Jamboree 3 Disneyland Traditions Canceled for 2027 Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl Another Cars Land holiday transformation will be Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters, which will turn into Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl. Luigi and his extended family will celebrate the holidays with festive dances to tunes sung by Luigi himself. Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters The NEW Soarin’ Across America Is NOW OPEN at Disneyland Planning a trip to the Happiest or Most Magical Place on Earth? Whether you’re heading to Disneyland or Disney World, you’ll want to reach out to our friends at Small World Vacations! They are experts in the business and take all of the stress out of planning — you just get to do the fun part, like deciding which rides you want to ride first and which restaurants you want to dine at! Disney World Moving across the country to Disney World in Orlando, Florida, FOUR rides will be getting a holiday overlay! Jingle Cruise Formerly known as Jungle Cruise, this attraction in Adventureland at the Magic Kingdom is one of the best holiday overlays in Disney World. Guests will find holiday decorations throughout the ride’s queue and on the ride itself. AND the skippers will have some holiday-themed jokes to share with you throughout your journey. The boats themselves even receive holiday names like Mistletoe Millie and Brrrrr Bertha! So, hop onboard and let us know how many Christmas things you can spot because — let me tell you — there are A LOT! Jingle Cruise Disney Just Announced Everything Returning to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in 2026 For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration Over in Hollywood Studios, For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration changes course a little bit and has a special guest appearance for the holidays! The show will feature different songs than it usually does (pulled from the short film Olaf’s Frozen Adventure) and a new storyline, and at the end, your favorite snowman will come out to greet everyone! For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Singalong at Disney’s Hollywood Studios Wait, What Is Happening to This Popular Lounge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios?! Alien Swirling Saucers A similar-styled attraction to Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree in Disneyland, Alien Swirling Saucers in Hollywood Studios also receives a holiday overlay specific to the music! The intergalactic soundtrack is layered with holiday-themed music, and at night, Christmas-colored lights will light up the attraction. Alien Swirling Saucers This NEW Disney Popcorn Bucket Is Every Toy Story Fan’s DREAM Living with the Land: Glimmering Greenhouses Another crowd favorite during the holiday season is the transformation of Living with the Land into the Glimmering Greenhouses at EPCOT. This one is extra special when you ride it at night because the attraction gets decorated with TONS of Christmas lights throughout the greenhouses, along with special holiday decorations. Yes, you can still see the Christmas decor during the day, but we’d suggest waiting to get the full effect at night! Glimmering Greenhouses The Most Popular Ride in EPCOT You Should SKIP (and What You Should Ride Instead) Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Exclusives If you’re attending the Christmas-themed special-ticketed event at Magic Kingdom this winter, you’ll want to keep these overlays in mind because they ONLY happen during the party! It’s certainly no secret that things at Disney World and beyond are getting more expensive, but this latest find has us pretty darn excited. FREE Aunt Flow products are rolling out at Disney World For years, the period product situation at Disney World parks and hotels has been pretty inconsistent. While some free products could be found at select hotel bathrooms and at First Aid in the parks, typically, Disney had paid dispensers in a majority of the bathrooms around the parks. But it looks like that may be changing soon because free period products have started popping up around EPCOT and beyond! We’re so thrilled that Disney World has started rolling out FREE Aunt Flow products at the parks and beyond. Aunt Flow is a woman-owned business with a mission to “fight period poverty and end the stigma surrounding menstruation.” The company advocates for businesses and schools to offer high-quality pads and tampons for free in all bathrooms, operating under the core belief that if toilet paper in public bathrooms is free, period products should be too. They’re FREE! Previously, period products were available for free in Deluxe hotel restrooms, and you could also obtain a limited amount of them from First Aid in the parks, but other than that, they were available to purchase from dispensers in a majority of the bathrooms around Disney World. Now, free Aunt Flow products are popping up all around Disney World! Pads and tampons We spotted Aunt Flow products in quite a few bathrooms in EPCOT, including the American Adventure Pavilion, the Morocco Pavilion, and more. “Changing the world one cycle at a time.” For now, you still have to pay for period products in Magic Kingdom or get them from First Aid for free, but we’re expecting that the Aunt Flow products will start to roll out in other Disney World parks as well. In a world where it seems like everything costs more, we’re excited that Disney is taking steps to make period products free and accessible for everyone who needs them! Keep an eye out for Aunt Flow products the next time you’re at Disney World! Keep an eye out for more Aunt Flow products at Disney World We’ll be on the lookout for more updates you need to know about from Disney World and beyond. We still can’t believe that later this year, Universal’s Epic Universe will be holding its FIRST-EVER after-hours event! Celestial Goodnight Universal recently announced that an all-new after-hours event will be coming to Epic Universe for the first time, called Universal Nights at Epic Universe. Before, we didn’t have many details on what’s to come, but now Universal has shared what the after-hours event holds. Specifically, we’re talking about six perks that you can enjoy! Universal Nights at Epic Universe will officially take place on Saturday, October 3rd, and Saturday, October 17th. The new special ticketed limited-capacity nighttime after-hours event will go from 9 PM to 12 AM. Not only will this be an awesome opportunity to explore Epic Universe with way fewer guests than a normal park day, but five perks on top of it make this a super special event. Let’s take a look! Epic Universe at night Access to Attractions Yes, attractions will be open during this event! In fact, ALL attractions and experiences will be open during the event, from 9 PM to 12 AM. Since it’s limited capacity, you can expect to see way shorter wait times for all the attractions. You won’t have to worry about waiting over two hours for the park’s most popular rides during this event. Super Nintendo World Epic Universe Character Meet-and-Greets Be on the lookout and make fun memories with exclusive character appearances throughout the park. Characters will be all around the park for the event, and although Universal hasn’t shared which characters will make an appearance, we have a feeling we could see some that are exclusive to the after-hours only. Tuffnut and Ruffnut in Isle of Berk Unlimited Snacks This is the best perk for foodies! Unlimited snacks will be available at the after-hours event, specifically berry-flavored Celestial Popcorn and crispy Kimchi Bao at Celestial Park. More snacks may be included, but this is all that has been announced so far. Celestial Park at night Beverage Refills On the snack note, you can also enjoy refills in a provided cup from any Coca-Cola Freestyle location. Drinks and snacks? That’s enough to get us to go! Coca-Cola Freestyle Machine Early Entry to the Event Universal Nights at Epic Universe may start at 9 PM, but you’ll be able to enter the park as early as 7 PM. That gives you an extra two hours to enjoy the park and a total of five hours on the night! Epic Universe Passholder Discounts Universal also announced that Universal Annual Passholders can save 10% on tickets. Plus, Premier Passholders can save 15%, and Preferred Passholders can save 10% off food and merchandise at the event. So, Passholders can save to get in AND while they’re at the event. Super Nintendo World Tickets for the event officially go on sale on August 13th. Tickets will start at $179.99 plus tax per person. We can’t wait to experience it later this year. It will be cool to see Epic Universe’s first after-hours event. Hey, Universal, can the next big thing for Epic be Annual Passes? Thanks! Disney World has so many places to eat that we bet you haven’t even heard of this spot! Look at all this tasty food! We raved about how much we love the food offered at Disney World’s hotels. Yes, there’s the Riviera Resort and the Polynesian Resort, but have you ever checked out the Disney Springs area hotels? We recently went to one of those hotels, and we need to spread the word about this pool bar we found! Disney Springs area hotels are the more budget-friendly hotels on Disney World property that you’ll find close to and around the Disney shopping and dining district. They’re really good options if you aren’t looking to spend a ton on the Disney World deluxe resorts. Our view! We recently toured around some of the Disney Springs area hotels, and one of them was the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista. There, we got to check out the Oasis Pool Bar restaurant. This restaurant focuses on well-done bar food, while being right next to the pool. It’s a perfect spot to relax, dine, and swim. Oasis Pool Bar For the media event we were at, the food was set up in a buffet style. However, this isn’t a buffet; it’s a normal restaurant! All the food we tried will be offered on the menu, which includes dry rub fried chicken wings… Dry Rub Fried Chicken Wings …mozzarella sticks… Mozzarella Sticks …a turkey wrap with bacon… Turkey Wrap with Bacon …chicken fingers and fries… Chicken Fingers and Fries …hummus with grilled vegetables… Hummus with Grilled Vegetables …and a hot roast beef sandwich with mushrooms. Roast Beef Sandwiches All the items were well prepared, but the standouts were the grilled vegetables with the hummus. You could taste the grill on the squash (zucchini and yellow squash) and red and yellow peppers. This elevated the hummus to something other than a standard crudite offering, and it made it feel more special. It made a basic vegetarian offering something more. This was so tasty! The turkey wrap was also very good. It was a good turkey with bacon and lettuce, but it included a spicy aioli that made this wrap taste like more. Let’s take a bite! The mozzarella sticks were good but offered only a slight cheese pull that was not that impressive. The mozzarella sticks! Overall, this hotel restaurant has some solid offerings. Feeling a wrap or sandwich? They got that! Chicken fingers and wings? That’s here too! Dry rub chicken wings If we were to come back here, we would definitely have the turkey wrap and hummus again. Those are our two favorite items on the menu. Everything else was good, but those took the medal for best options at this poolside bar. Here’s our plate! As Disney foodies, we’re always on the hunt for the best dishes at Disney World. If you want more food reviews, make sure to follow us at the Disney Food Blog!
