The Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground has been a staple at Disney World since (nearly) the very beginning. While the campground was planned to be an opening day attraction at the Vacation Kingdom, construction delays pushed the campground back slightly. It actually opened about 6 weeks after the rest of Disney World on November 19th, 1971. Fort Wilderness Even with that scheduling issue, over the last 50+ years, Fort Wilderness has become a favorite for guests who want to capture a part of the great outdoors during their Disney World stay, with many returning year after year. That has, in turn, led to some interesting traditions developing within the confines of the campground, including a new(ish) one regarding golf carts. So, quick catch-up: Fort Wilderness offers golf cart rentals that make it easier to get around the sprawling grounds and campsite. These electric golf carts are equipped with windshields and headlights for night driving and are available to guests 18 years of age and older with a valid driver’s license. Drivers must be 16 years of age or older with a valid driver’s license, and all drivers must have their license on them when operating the cart. However, the price — which costs between $75 and $100 per day, tax included — can be prohibitive, especially for those who are spending most of their time in the parks. Disney also allows guests to bring their own golf carts, but “for the safety of everyone at the Resort hotel, you must be prepared to present proof of insurance upon check-in and sign an agreement and waiver.” Golf Carts at Fort Wilderness All of that to say that golf carts are a pretty common sight at Fort Wilderness, which leads us to “Camp Hair Don’t Care.” @Original Fort Wilderness Scavenger Hunts Facebook This game among guests involves a large collection of pool noodles that look like a messy hairdo when zip-tied to the top of a golf cart. If you’ve been to the movie theater this week, then it’s likely you saw something very familiar at the box office, because Avengers Endgame: Encore was just re-released into theaters. ©CinemaBlend | Marvel This is an extended cut of the fan-favorite groundbreaking film, and after opening weekend, it led Marvel Studios to cross $35 billion globally at the box office. Avengers Endgame: Encore was a re-release of the iconic 2019 film, this time with extended scenes that relate directly to the plot of the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday. In addition to these extra scenes, there was also a first look at the upcoming film. ©Disney So it is unsurprising that it was very popular in theaters this weekend and was even a number one global release while also becoming the second highest global debut of a re-release. It also means that the cumulative box office earnings for Avengers: Endgame now sit at $2.885 billion, making it the second highest on the all-time box office list, just $39 million behind Avatar. ©Marvel As we mentioned before, a big part of this release was to set audiences up for the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, which is releasing in theaters on December 18th, and we already know will be a huge box office success. I don’t mean to make you panic, but if you haven’t started thinking about your holiday season travel…you need to do that, like, YESTERDAY. Southwest Airlines With airline capacities decreasing and airports getting seriously busy during the last few months of the year, you should go ahead and book your flights ASAP to score the best deals. Still looking for some deals? Well, we’ve got some options! The first big deal you need to know about is that Southwest Airlines is having a sale on fall flights! You can get one-way travel as low as $59 per person if you book by October 1st, 2026 (that means you must HURRY). You’ll need to purchase your ticket at least 21 days in advance to qualify. Southwest Airlines at MCO Your travel dates must fall between October 20th, 2026 and March 3rd, 2027. Some blockout dates apply, so check the Southwest website to see which ones are listed for your destination. These tickets are nonrefundable and there are a limited number available. MCO airport When we checked different destinations for these flight options, we actually found the $59 price for some flights from Atlanta to Orlando. Sounds like the perfect excuse to plan a Halloween visit to Universal Orlando or a holiday season trip to Disney World! Southwest Airplanes The other big deal you should know is that you can bundle and save if you book with Getaways by Southwest. Right now, the discount offers up to $250 off select domestic vacation packages or up to $500 off international vacation packages. Plus, you’ll get two checked bags for free with your flight! Southwest Airlines at John Wayne International Airport So now sounds like the perfect time to start booking. The upcoming travel season is getting more complicated with several major airlines cutting back on flight capacity due to rising fuel costs. Southwest Airlines confirmed a few days ago that they’d already cut their 2026 capacity growth in about half, and would continue to make cuts as necessary for budget reasons. ©Southwest Airlines United Airlines and American Airlines are in this same boat, with the latter sharing that its fuel spending had increased by about $1 billion in the fourth quarter. All three airlines are cutting less profitable routes and decreasing the number of flights overall. This could spell problems in the coming months as demand increases for the holidays. Orlando International Airport If you’re traveling throughout the Halloween through New Year’s season, make sure to plan ahead. Book your flights as far in advance as possible and use tools like Google Flights to track prices and get the best deal. Make sure to check which airlines have special offers, as well! (And of course, we’ll share any that we find.) Perhaps the most important tip is to arrive early at the airport on the day of your flight so that you can make sure you’re prepared for the crowds. Season-end events in Skagway, Juneau and Ketchikan build on longtime support for local families, students and community organizations Disney Cruise Line closed its 2026 Alaska season by building on its ongoing support for local organizations across Southeast Alaska, working with local groups in Skagway, Juneau and Ketchikan to support military families, connect students with maritime professionals and create opportunities for young Alaskans. From Sept. 24–26, Crew Members from the Disney Wonder joined community organizations for three events across the region: a career conversation with Junior Achievement Alaska students in Skagway, a Coast Guard Families Appreciation Event in Juneau and a maritime careers ship tour in Ketchikan. The events capped a season of community involvement that helped strengthen relationships with the Southeast Alaska communities that Disney Cruise Line visits each summer. “Alaska is an important and growing part of the Disney Cruise Line story,” said Beth Thibadoux, Director of External Affairs for Disney Cruise Line. “The communities we visit are one of the many reasons a Disney Cruise Line experience is so special, and we remain committed to deepening the relationships and supporting local priorities of the communities that welcome us every season.” Celebrating Coast Guard families in Juneau In Juneau, Disney Cruise Line joined Armed Services YMCA – Alaska on Sept. 25 to recognize Coast Guard members and families serving Alaska and the U.S. Arctic. The celebration offered Coast Guard families the opportunity to spend time with each other participating in themed activities, crafts and memorable moments with Captain Mickey Mouse. Disney Cruise Line also announced its investment in the U.S. Coast Guard Foundation in support of its Coastie Campers summer enrichment program, helping expand opportunities for Coast Guard families in Alaska. “Military families make tremendous sacrifices in service to Alaska and the country, and it means a great deal when community partners take the time to recognize and support them,” said Sarah Riffer, Executive Director for Armed Services YMCA of Alaska. “This was an opportunity for families to simply come together, feel celebrated and enjoy time with one another.” Disney has a long history of honoring military service members, veterans and their families dating back 100 years ago to founders Walt and Roy O. Disney who both served their country during World War I. Exploring Maritime Careers in Skagway & Ketchikan In Skagway, Disney Wonder crew members joined local students from Junior Achievement of Alaska on Sept. 24, sharing their own career paths and offering a firsthand look at the range of jobs that keep a cruise ship running. The conversation gave students an opportunity to hear directly from maritime professionals and learn more about careers that can begin with many different interests, skills and backgrounds. Two days later in Ketchikan, more local students with Junior Achievement of Alaska and the Magsayawan Filipino Dance Group boarded the Disney Wonder for a discussion on maritime careers and a ship tour. Students met crew members and got a behind-the-scenes look at the people, skills and professions involved in operating a cruise ship, connecting an industry they see in their community each summer to potential future career paths. “Our students see ships visit throughout the season, but getting to talk directly with the people who make those operations possible is a completely different experience,” said Mackenzie Platschorre, Vice President of Secondary Programs for Junior Achievement of Alaska, Inc. “Opportunities like these help students see the maritime industry not just as something happening around them, but as a place where they can explore their interests, envision the possibilities ahead, and see how their actions today can help build a choice-filled life.” A Season of Community Engagement The September events capped a broader season of community involvement across Southeast Alaska, as Disney Cruise Line collaborated with several local organizations to bring moments of happiness and support where they’re needed most. Throughout 2026, Disney Cruise Line supported the Southeast Alaska Food Bank, including its work to provide weekend meals through Harborview Elementary School; donated boot and glove warmers for Harborview classrooms; contributed Disney books and participated in intergenerational programming at the Ketchikan Pioneer Home; and welcomed Skagway Summer Camp participants aboard the Disney Wonder for the fourth year. Wait! Disney, didn’t you already give us a Sleeping Beauty adaptation? It’s safe to say our first thought when we heard a new Sleeping Beauty movie was in the works was confusion. ©Disney Of all the Disney movies to be getting a new adaptation, we expected it to one that hasn’t already gotten a remade version. So let’s dive into all the limited details we have so far about what we can expect from this new project. Deadline has shared that Dan Trachtenberg will be developing a brand-new project inspired by Sleeping Beauty. So far, we know that this project is an original idea that draws inspiration from the classic Disney Princess film; it is also in the very early stages of development. Trachtenberg, alongside Rayna McClendon, created the ideas for this new story, and Alex Anfanger and Dan Schimpf are confirmed to be creating the script. ©Disney While very few details have been released for this project, it has been confirmed that it will not be related to or connected to the Maleficent films. That was our first thought upon hearing about this new project. Disney, especially in recent years, has been known for remaking classic animated films into live-action adaptations. So when we heard a new Sleeping Beauty film was in the works, we thought it might be a live-action adaptation of the film. ©Disney However, we already got a live-action interpretation of Sleeping Beauty with Maleficent that was released in 2014, and then the sequel Maleficent: Mistress of Evil that came out in 2019. While these movies mainly focused on Maleficent and her character journey, Aurora was a big part of the story as well. So many people thought this was the only version of a live-action Sleeping Beauty movie that we would be getting. ©Walt Disney Studios And that still might remain true; this announcement did not confirm that the new story would be a traditional live-action retelling. Instead, it highlighted how Trachtenberg is working on an original story that is drawing inspiration from the classic film. EPCOT‘s World Showcase is full of some seriously awesome hidden treats! China Pavilion in EPCOT You don’t have to stick to the Mickey bars and the churros at this park, because you can wander into gift shops and find some of the most interesting snacks you’ve ever eaten, not to mention the offerings at the dozens of restaurants and snack stands. And if you’re heading to the park soon, there’s a limited-time snack that you might want to add to your to-do list! During a recent visit to House of Good Fortune in the China Pavilion, we saw this sign on display! They’re offering a Mango Custard Mooncake at the China Food & Wine Festival booth! But there’s a catch — it’s only available until October 3rd. Oooh a treat! You can snag this for $8.25, and boy is it pretty! Our reporter who tried this was new to mooncakes and pleasantly surprised by the dense and somewhat dry texture throughout. When they say “custard,” it’s not runny or gooey like you would expect American custard to be. It’s beautiful! It wasn’t super sweet, and reminded us a lot of mochi. The mango flavor is quite strong and runs throughout the treat, so if you’re hoping for something fruity and only mildly sweetened, this could be a win! Unfortunately, the one downside is that we couldn’t really get the dragonfruit flavor. Inside the mooncake If you’re interested in trying this, you only have a few more days to snag it at the China booth, which is located along World Showcase’s main walkway in front of the China Pavilion. It’s a little bit pricey for its size, so you’ll have to determine if spending $8.25 on this snack is worth it for a taste. Those are some bright colors! When you’ve been out in the hot sun all day in Disney World, the one thing that might sound like the PERFECT snack is ice cream. Now, Disney World has ALL kinds of ice cream and soft-serve options (and we’ll never rule out DOLE Whip either), but what if you want to try something new? Hokkaido Ice Cream Well, a new ice cream option just popped up in EPCOT, and let’s just say that it’s become so popular that it often sells out. We’re talking about the Hokkaido Ice Cream you can now get at Mitsukoshi in the Japan Pavilion — we finally got our hands on it, and we’re bringing you our full review!! Hokkaido ice cream is a famous style of soft-serve in Japan made with milk from Hokkaido’s free-roaming dairy cows. It’s different from American ice cream in that it has less sugar content and is generally fluffier and creamier. Plain milk is the most popular flavor, which is what you’ll get at Mitsukoshi for $5.42. Note that the soft-serve is actually in a cone inside the container. There it is! Now, we’ve had Hokkaido Ice Cream in Japan, and this wasn’t quite as creamy or soft, but the flavor was VERY close, so it’s fairly authentic. If we had to describe the flavor, it was light a slightly salty vanilla, so it’s a must for vanilla ice cream lovers. This ice cream was airy on the inside, but the outside was very creamy. It also melts even faster than regular soft-serve. Honestly, for $5, it’s a nice treat to have in Disney World, and we think it’s easily worth the price. It will certainly satisfy your sweet tooth, despite its small size. Pro tip: grab it early before it sells out. So creamy If you’re looking for another sweet and cold treat, we can also recommend the Frozen Wafer Sandwich that you can pick up at Mitsukoshi. Some Disney World fans plan trips around new rides. Others know exactly when Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party starts. And then there are people like us, who see a calendar and immediately start wondering what we’re going to eat. Disney World’s food calendar has its own rhythm. EPCOT festivals bring dozens of temporary food booths, annual celebrations can quietly introduce some of the most interesting dishes of the year, and one particularly delicious weekend turns the Swan and Dolphin into what is essentially a giant outdoor dinner party. 2025 Food and Wine Classic So no, this isn’t every date when Disney releases a specialty treat. If we included every seasonal cupcake wearing a new buttercream topping, we’d be here until next Food & Wine Festival. But these are seven dates and seasons Disney food fans should actually know about. #7 February — Black History Month February tends to get overshadowed by Valentine’s Day snacks, but Black History Month has become one of the more interesting times to watch Disney World’s menus. Disney celebrates Black culture throughout the month with its Celebrate Soulfully offerings, and food has regularly been a big part of the celebration. Over the years, we’ve seen dishes inspired by Southern cooking, Caribbean flavors, Creole cuisine, African cuisine, and recipes connected to Black chefs and culinary history. Celebrate Soulfully Sweet Potato Pie This is exactly the kind of seasonal Disney food we want more of. Give us a dish with an actual story behind it over another chocolate cupcake with blue frosting any day. The lineup changes each year, so we start watching Disney’s menus closely on February 1st. #6 September 15th through October 15th — Hispanic and Latin American Heritage Month If tacos & margaritas are involved, we are capable of taking our calendar responsibilities VERY seriously. Disney celebrates Hispanic and Latin American Heritage Month from September 15th through October 15th, and the celebration frequently stretches well beyond EPCOT’s Mexico Pavilion. Guava and Cheese Mille-Feuille We’ve seen special dishes and drinks pop up at the theme parks, Disney Springs, and Disney World hotels, highlighting flavors from Mexico, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Colombia, Peru, and other parts of Latin America and the Caribbean. Frontera Cocina Margarita That can mean everything from tres leches and guava pastries to plantains, empanadas, specialty cocktails, and, yes, plenty of margaritas. If someone needs to compare several margaritas for research purposes, we salute your dedication- responsibly, of course. This one can be surprisingly easy to miss because it lands right in the middle of Disney World’s already-busy fall food season, but it’s absolutely worth keeping an eye on. Toasted Coconut Flan #5 November 27th through December 30th, 2026 — EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays Once Thanksgiving arrives, EPCOT basically hands the park over to comfort food. The 2026 EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays runs from November 27th through December 30th, and the Holiday Kitchens are reason enough to put it on a Disney food fan’s calendar. 2025 EPCOT Festival of the Holidays This is where you’ll find dishes inspired by holiday traditions from around the world, so you can go from savory meats and potatoes to cookies and festive cocktails in about the time it takes someone else in your group to suggest getting in line for Frozen Ever After. L’Chaim Full Spread The Cookie Stroll gets plenty of attention, but don’t let the cookies hog the tinsel. Some of the savory Holiday Kitchen dishes are routinely among the festival’s biggest reasons to visit (L’Chaim rueben, I’m lookin’ at you). #4 January 15th through March 1st, 2027 — EPCOT International Festival of the Arts Festival of the Arts shows us all that food can be beautiful without forgetting the rather important requirement that we actually want to eat it. Disney has already confirmed that the 2027 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts will run from January 15th through March 1st. Full Spread at Figment’s Imagination Station The Food Studios tend to serve some of EPCOT’s most visually ambitious festival dishes, but this festival has also produced plenty of legitimately excellent food. That’s an important distinction. We admire an artistically deconstructed dish, but we’d also like lunch. Figment Imagination Cone Festival of the Arts is also comparatively short, so procrastinating can hurt here. If there’s a Food Studio dish you desperately want to try, don’t assume you’ve got three months to get around to it. The extra special bonus is, it lights up with the Celebrate Soulfully events, so that’s foodie check mark bonus! #3 March 10th through May 31st, 2027 — EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival Spring in EPCOT means topiaries, approximately seventeen million photos of Spaceship Earth surrounded by flowers, and our annual reunion with the Outdoor Kitchens. The 2027 EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival is scheduled for March 10th through May 31st. Garden Graze Prize at Flower and Garden! Flower & Garden generally leans brighter and fresher than some of EPCOT’s other festivals. Seasonal produce gets more attention, lighter dishes show up alongside the indulgent stuff, and drinks involving fruit, herbs, and florals start multiplying around World Showcase. Bauernmarkt Farmers Market Full Spread And, we’re already expecting people to begin asking where the Violet Lemonade is before they’ve even cleared the entrance. This is also one of our favorite festivals for grazing. You don’t necessarily need a parade of heavy dishes to have a very good food day here. A few Outdoor Kitchen stops, one drink you’ve been thinking about since last spring, and suddenly you’ve eaten your way halfway around World Showcase. #2 August 27th through November 21st, 2026 — EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival You knew this one was coming. The 2026 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival runs from August 27th through November 21st, with more than 30 Global Marketplace booths and additional festival dishes scattered around EPCOT. Food & Wine Festival This is the heavyweight on Disney World’s food calendar. For nearly three months, you can wander around EPCOT comparing dumplings, steak, cheese, noodles, cocktails, desserts, and dishes from kitchens representing countries around the world. It is wonderful. It is dangerous to your carefully constructed dining budget. Make sure you come prepared. Wine and Cheese Pairing The best strategy is rarely trying to eat everything in one afternoon. Check the full Food & Wine Festival booth menus, make a hit list, and leave room for something you didn’t plan on ordering. There is always something that smells good enough to derail the budget. Spain 2026 But there’s another food event happening right as EPCOT Food & Wine reaches its finale, and this is the weekend we REALLY want food fans to circle. #1 November 20th and 21st, 2026 — Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic Here’s the date we’d put in bold, highlight, underline, and possibly stick to the refrigerator. The 2026 Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic takes place November 20th and 21st from 5PM to 9PM each night. And if you love Disney food but have somehow never paid much attention to this event, it’s time to fix that. Signs at 2022 Food & Wine Classic The Food & Wine Classic takes over the causeway between the Swan and Dolphin with unlimited food and beverage tastings included with an event ticket. The 2026 lineup draws from restaurants around the resort, including Bourbon Steak, Il Mulino, Kimonos, and Amare, plus themed areas like Chinatown, The Beer Garden, Bubble Lounge, For the Love of Florida, Carnival Corner, and an entire Desserts area. An entire area devoted to desserts. We appreciate a festival with its priorities properly calibrated. Beef Sliders at the 2022 Food & Wine Classic from The Fountain The 2026 menus include everything from Slow Braised Wagyu Beef Short Rib and Pan-Fried Shrimp & Pork Dumplings to Bavarian pretzels, Texas Red Chili, Cinnamon Roll Waffles, and a Campfire Mocha made with chocolate coffee mousse and toasted marshmallow. Tickets are currently $215 per person before taxes and service fees for one night, and there’s also a discounted two-night bundle. This event is open to the public, so you do NOT need to be staying at the Swan or Dolphin to attend. Food and Wine Classic And here’s the particularly convenient bit for serious Disney food people. The Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic falls on the final two days of the 2026 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival. So, you could spend the day eating your way around EPCOT, walk out International Gateway, and continue the operation at the Swan and Dolphin that evening. Just beware: this is an ambitious amount of food. Bring your stretchy pants. Keep That Calendar Handy Disney changes menus constantly, and not every seasonal food deserves its own entry on your food calendar. But these are the stretches of the year when we start paying closer attention. The EPCOT festivals bring some of Disney World’s biggest food lineups. Black History Month and Hispanic and Latin American Heritage Month can surface dishes you won’t find during the rest of the year. And the Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic packs an enormous amount of food, drinks, and live entertainment into two very busy nights. New collaboration with Boys & Girls Clubs in four regions will bring Disney Dreamers Academy to more students, helping them discover new opportunities close to home and at Walt Disney World Resort As Disney Dreamers Academy approaches its 20th anniversary, Walt Disney World Resort is evolving the program to expand its reach through a new collaboration with Boys & Girls Clubs, empowering even more young people to dream beyond imagination through mentorship, career exploration and transformative experiences in the communities where they live and at Walt Disney World Resort. For nearly two decades, Walt Disney World has selected 100 high school students across the country annually to participate in Disney Dreamers Academy. The program has played a meaningful role in shaping participants’ educational and professional journeys and will continue reaching students from a wide range of backgrounds, including many of the communities that have long been at the heart of Disney Dreamers Academy. A New Chapter for Disney Dreamers Academy Now, Walt Disney World is building on that legacy by expanding Disney Dreamers Academy into a year-round, multi-year experience designed to reach students earlier and keep them connected to the program over time. As part of an initial pilot, developed in collaboration with participating Boys & Girls Clubs and youth development experts, the initiative will bring Disney Dreamers Academy to middle school Club members in the Orlando, Miami, Atlanta and Houston metropolitan areas. These four locations were selected based on Disney’s existing presence and relationships with families and organizations in these communities, creating a strong foundation of support for participating students. “I’ve seen firsthand the confidence, connections and opportunities Disney Dreamers Academy has provided students over the past 19 years,” said Sivonne Davis, Vice President of Marketing Strategy at Walt Disney World. “The impact this program has had on young people, their families and the communities around them is remarkable, and this builds on the foundation to inspire students to explore their potential and dream beyond what they imagined possible.” Reaching Students Through Local Boys & Girls Clubs The first class of Disney Dreamers in this new chapter will include 200 students selected by participating Boys & Girls Clubs, and will be announced this October, with programming beginning in January 2027. The pilot will draw on the deep connections participating Boys & Girls Clubs have with the young people and families they serve, bringing Disney Dreamers Academy into trusted community spaces while sustaining its commitment to empowering diverse populations of students. “This next chapter is about meeting students where they are and helping them discover what’s possible for their future at an earlier age,” said Tajiana Ancora-Brown, Director of External Affairs at Walt Disney World. “By working alongside local Boys & Girls Clubs, we can reach more students and provide meaningful experiences that support their growth over time.” What Students Will Experience Through a mix of virtual and in-person experiences, Disney Dreamers will engage in activities designed to support their personal and academic growth, including: Year-round Programming that Unlocks New Possibilities: Through hands-on experiences, workshops and interactive programming led by Disney Cast Members and experts, students will explore subjects and career paths ranging from engineering to animal sciences, inspiring them to discover new interests and possibilities for their future. Connecting with Disney Mentors Who Inspire Their Future: Students will become part of a community that connects them with Disney Cast Members and fellow Dreamers, creating meaningful relationships that offer inspiration and support throughout their journey while introducing them to professionals whose backgrounds and experiences may reflect their own. Building Confidence Through Continued Support: Year-round programming will help students develop their confidence and leadership skills, while strengthening their connection to mentors, peers, and local communities that can encourage them as they grow. When it comes to dining at the Magic Kingdom, there are MANY options to choose from, including quick-service restaurants, table-service restaurants, and snack carts. Pinocchio Village Haus But some of these spots we actually don’t go to because of the food… we go for another reason that has absolutely NOTHING to do with the eats. We’re heading into Fantasyland to go to Pinocchio Village Haus, but we’re not going for the food — that would be silly! Instead, we’re going for the atmosphere. We recently stopped by this quick-service eatery to review some of the food, but we were actually paying more attention to the ambiance than the dishes in front of us! Why? Because it transported us back in time. Pinocchio Village Haus The film was released in 1940, and this dining location pulls some inspiration from the movie with its little indoor village. The outside is designed to look like a building in the village, and when you step inside, you can find truly beautiful artwork commemorating the classic Disney film. The interior design is full of light and dark wood, making the restaurant look old and feel really lived-in. All of these details make this quick-service location worth the visit even if you’re not hungry! The artwork is stunning! It’s also a great place to take a break from the heat and sit in the air conditioning! There is plenty of seating in Pinocchio Village Haus, so if you’re looking to take a quick break, this is a great spot. Of course, if it’s packed and people with food are looking for a seat, you should give them your spot — head across the way to Mickey’s PhilharMagic and watch a show in the air conditioning! Additionally, it’s one of the only locations that has a water bottle refill station — staying hydrated and staying cool, what’s better than that? Pinocchio Village Haus Another cute detail from this location is the Blue Fairy’s Wish Book. Here, guests can write their wishes, so they can come true! This can be found on the first floor in one of the dining rooms of this quick-service location. We flipped through and read some of the wishes, and they were SO sweet! Here are just a few: “I wish to get pregnant with a healthy baby in 2026.” “My wish is for my family’s health and happiness, and for many more trips together to Disney.” “I wish for a happy, healthy, long, loving, and beautiful life with my wife.” I’m not sobbing; you are. Pinocchio Village Haus Wishing Book Unfortunately, one of our favorite parts of Pinocchio Village Haus was taken away — the signs to interact with guests riding “it’s a small world.” Cast Members confirmed that guests were taking these signs, so they are no longer available for guests to use. The signs! Although we do come for the atmosphere, you might as well eat while you’re here! We recently stopped to try a few things, including the Tomato Basil Soup for $4.29, the Chicken Parmesan Sandwich for $13.99, and the Buffalo Chicken Flatbread for $13.29. We actually really enjoyed everything, and when it comes to dining at the Magic Kingdom, this location is definitely one of the better options! Pinocchio Village Haus Pinocchio Village Haus just goes to show that not every dining location HAS to be eaten at. Take a break. Admire the atmosphere. Write your wish in a book. But, of course, you can always grab a snack! Somewhere, right now, Mariah Carey is defrosting for the season. Magic Kingdom Christmas Tree Yep, folks, it’s almost Christmastime! I know, we still have to get through Halloween, but soon those sleigh bells will be jing-ting-tingaling. And Disney is not wasting ANY time. They’ll have the holiday decorations up in the parks soon after spooky season ends, and they’re already sharing a sneak peek at the new merchandise. The Disney Store shared a first look at some of the new holiday items this year, posting photos of the collection online. Of course, we’re starting things out with a new backpack! This one is Disney-branded and has a beautiful red velvet design with gold Mickey Mouse details. Surprisingly elegant for a park bag. ©Disney There’s also a new holiday Spirit Jersey! This year’s design has a plaid Mickey, candy cane, and snowflake on the front. Disney didn’t share a look at the back yet, but it looks thick and comfy from the photo we got. ©Disney Speaking of comfy, what about this Mickey Mouse Fleece Jacket? We love a Santa Mickey moment, and this one’s perfect for those days in the parks where it starts to get chilly in the evening. ©Disney It looks like home decor will be available as well! Disney shared a photo of a new Mickey Mouse wreath design, complete with poinsettias, bells, and a faux candle in the middle. ©Disney Disney didn’t share when these new finds would arrive online, but we can likely expect them in the coming weeks. Get ready to paint the town, or at least Disney World’s Boardwalk, because Hurly-Burly is almost here! Hurly-Burly The new seaside-theater lounge opening on Disney’s Boardwalk on October 1st. Many guests are wondering what the best way to get there is. It’s a totally fair concern, and the answer changes how you should plan your visit. So let’s break down both halves of this — what Hurly-Burly actually is, and how to get there. Will they take Advance Dining Reservations? Disney has confirmed that Hurly-Burly will be walk-up only, with no reservations required. Disney did note that all offerings are subject to change and availability. That puts Hurly-Burly in the same category as Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto — you show up, and you’re seated (or standing!) as space allows. Hurly-Burly That’s charming in theory, but it does create the exact headache our reader flagged: Disney’s Boardwalk parking lot is normally reserved for BoardWalk Inn guests and those with confirmed dining reservations, and security tends to get stricter about turning away guests without one, especially later in the day. Since Hurly-Burly can’t provide you with a reservation to show at the gate, driving yourself and parking at the Boardwalk isn’t a reliable plan for this one — especially if you’re headed over in the evening for the 21-and-up scene. The good news: you don’t need a car (or a parking spot) to get to the Boardwalk at all. Here’s every other way in. Boardwalk Getting to Hurly-Burly Without a Car Walk from EPCOT’s International Gateway — you can walk to Disney’s Boardwalk from EPCOT‘s International Gateway, between the France and UK pavilions. It’s a scenic 5-to-10-minute stroll along the water, and it’s an easy way to cap off a day in EPCOT before heading over for trivia or evening cocktails. Walk from Disney’s Hollywood Studios — Boardwalk is also walkable from Hollywood Studios, along the same waterfront path that passes the Swan, Dolphin, and Yacht & Beach Club. Budget closer to 15–20 minutes. Ride the Skyliner — the Skyliner doesn’t have a station directly at the Boardwalk, but its EPCOT station sits just outside International Gateway, and you don’t need a park ticket to ride it or to walk from that station to the Boardwalk. This works from any Skyliner-connected resort: Disney’s Riviera Resort Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort Disney’s Pop Century Resort Disney’s Art of Animation Resort Disney’s Hollywood Studios Disney Skyliner EPCOT Station Take a Friendship Boat — these run a direct loop connecting Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the Swan and Dolphin, Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club, Disney’s Boardwalk Inn, and EPCOT, with a stop right at the Boardwalk. Like the Skyliner, you can access the EPCOT-side dock without a park ticket since it sits outside the turnstiles. Take a resort bus — if you’re staying elsewhere on property, Disney’s resort buses run to the Boardwalk Inn, Beach Club, or Yacht Club directly from the theme parks or Disney Springs. Friendship boat More on Hurly-Burly Once you’re there, here’s the atmosphere Disney is promising. Disney wrote “Step inside this historic seaside theater, once the home of the BoardWalk’s most celebrated vaudeville performers. Now, nearly a hundred years later, Hurly-Burly is opening its doors once again.” The venue runs on a split timeframe, as 4PM–9PM will be family-friendly daytime hours, with host-led activities like trivia and other games for all ages. Then the vibe shifts at 9PM and later for an adults-only, 21+, evening scene, with live music performances that lean into the space’s historic seaside-theater setting. Hurly-Burly Concept Art ©Disney And if you just want a drink without committing to finding a seat, there’s also a walk-up window on the Promenade serving select cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks to guests strolling the Boardwalk — no walk-up-only lounge access required for that one at all. Opening Oct 1st Hurly-Burly is shaping up to be one of the Boardwalk’s most exciting additions in years. There are lots of easy, car-free ways to get there once Hurly-Burly opens October 1. We are heartbroken to hear about the passing of Dennis Haskins at the age of 75. ©People He was a beloved actor best known for his role as Principal Richard Belding on the popular TV show Saved by the Bell. Variety shared that the news of his passing was confirmed by his agent, Jay Schachter, who shared, “It’s a tragic loss. Everyone loved Mr. Belding, and those of us who got to know Dennis loved him even more. He was a great person, and he loved- I mean absolutely LOVED his fans. He always had time for them, no matter what. He was my client and dear friend for over 20 years, and I will miss him terribly. I’m heartbroken.” ©People No further details surrounding the cause of his death have been shared at this time. A bar in Burbank, California, called Dimples Karaoke, also paid a beautiful tribute to Haskins, who was a regular at the establishment for many years. They shared in a post to Instagram, “Dennis was a staple at Dimples. A lot of people thought he owned it, but he didn’t. He just loved the place and its people. He enjoyed singing for people, meeting them, and taking selfies with his fans. I spend an absurd amount of money each year to be able to go to Disney World whenever I want. Disney World Annual Pass Yes, the passes are PRICEY, but it can be oh-so-worth-it for the memories. Plus, being a Disney World Annual Passholder comes with some serious perks. Discounts, free parking, ride previews, and occasionally, specialty souvenirs! If you’re planning on renewing your Disney World Annual Pass soon, we’ve got some exciting news! Each year upon renewing your pass (or when you purchase a new one), Annual Passholders get mailed a new Mickey Mouse magnet to add to their fridge, car, or souvenir collection. And if you’re renewing your pass starting in September 2026, there’s a NEW design! Hey, Mickey! Disney World says on the Passholder website: “Starting with Annual Pass anniversaries in September 2026, Passholders who renew their pass will receive a new magnet in the mail, featuring Mickey Mouse in dapper attire!” And you GUYS, it’s Mickey Mouse dressed up like he’s strolling Main Street, U.S.A.! ©Disney To make sure you get this magnet, log into your My Disney Experience account and make sure the mailing address on your account matches where you want the magnet shipped to. Renewing Passholders should receive their magnet in the mail within six weeks of their anniversary date. For Annual Passes with the same start date or anniversary in the same household, there’s a limit of two magnets per household. NOTE: You should receive the regular yellow Mickey Mouse magnets each year upon renewal of your Annual Pass, though some on our team have had problems with theirs arriving in the mail. If you’re experiencing these issues already, you may want to double check with Disney before you renew your Annual Pass so you can make sure to get the new design. Okay, we all know that dining at Magic Kingdom can be let’s just say it underwhelming. There are not many places to grab an exceptional meal, especially when compared to the food offerings at the other Disney World parks. Cinderella Castle However, that all might be about to change because a brand-new pop-up restaurant opens in just a few days, and if you’re interested in checking it out, you should know that reservations open today! The Diamond Horseshoe is turning into a limited-time pop-up lounge in Magic Kingdom for the fall. It will have an all-new menu, creating a frontier atmosphere. This new lounge officially opens on October 4th, but if you want to visit, you should know reservations open tonight. On September 29th at 8 PM ET, you can visit the Walt Disney World App or Website to make reservations for this new spot. The Diamond Horseshoe Disney has not yet announced exactly when this pop-up experience will be closing, but if you are visiting in the next several months, it likely will be available for you to enjoy. If you’d like to visit this spot and check out the new food and drink offerings in Magic Kingdom, we recommend booking a reservation. With any new Disney World dining location, it is likely to be popular and potentially difficult to grab a reservation for. ©Disney The last lounge space to open in Magic Kingdom was The Beak and Barrel, and it was extremely difficult to dine there when it first opened; even now, after being open for over a year, reservations are still sometimes difficult to find. We do not think this pop-up lounge will be as popular as The Beak and Barrel since that is a specially themed Pirates of the Caribbean lounge located near the ride, but any new experience will likely be busy. The Beak and Barrel The Diamond Horseshoe lounge will be offering a selection of small plates, cocktails, non-alcoholic specialty drinks, wine, and beer. So it is not designed to be a full sit-down dining experience but rather a spot to relax and grab some bites and a drink on your Magic Kingdom day.
