By the time you’re done hearing about this Disney World treat, you’re going to be out of your house, buckled up in your car, and on your way to EPCOT! What is this glorious treat?! We traveled all the way to France to try a brand-new treat…ok, the France Pavilion in EPCOT, but we might as well have been in actual France the way that this tasted. Secretly, we want to have all of these to ourselves, but we’re going to be strong and not gatekeep so you can try this! If you head over to the France Pavilion on EPCOT’s World Showcase, you’ll come across Les Halles Boulangerie Pâtisserie. There are very few dining places that are open before 11 AM in EPCOT, or in most of Disney World for that matter. This, however, is one of those spots, so it’s a popular place for breakfast! Les Halles Boulangerie-Pâtisserie When we say popular, we mean POPULAR. The line can get quite long. For this new treat, the Pistachio Raspberry Cake, we ended up waiting 40 minutes. That being said, we would totally add this to breakfast or lunch or dinner, because we’re obsessed with it! Pistachio Raspberry Cake You can get the Pistachio Raspberry Cake for $6.95, and come to think of it, obsessed is an understatement for this treat. This is so fun, light, and very summer-like. We know that the fall season has begun, but the weather here has not agreed with that. So, we’re enjoying a little more summer with this dessert. Pistachio Raspberry Cake There are three soft layers of cake. A layer of raspberry, and then two layers of the pistachio, and it is SO good. None of the flavors are super bold or bright. In fact, we found they were all subtle and soft. This was also only seven dollars, and while it’s not a huge treat, this is meant to add onto your meal that you’re already getting at this restaurant. You need to try this! In the jam, we can feel the seeds of the raspberry, but it’s not in an appetizing way. It’s just to remind you that fresh raspberries were used, and we’re here for it. There are no nuts on top, so if you don’t like the texture of nuts, there’s nothing to worry about here. The whole thing is also very soft. We can’t get enough The cake is bright and acidic, and we’re assuming lemon, but technically that’s not listed anywhere. We think the whole family will enjoy this because none of the flavors are too bold. Overall, this thing is delicious, and we’d like to put it on record that we will be getting this again…and again…and again…you get the idea. You need to get this! Lace up your sneakers and start stretching, because the 2026 Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend is almost here! ©Disney The Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend will run from October 22nd to October 25th, 2026. Disney just announced some major new rules and changes for this year’s marathon weekend, including new bibs, start times, and complimentary transportation, so buckle up and read these new procedures before you start packing for the race weekend! runDisney Health & Fitness Expo Expo Hours & Early Access Expo hours for Day 1 are 9 AM – 8 PM, and race weekend transportation will run from 8:15 AM – 8:30 PM. Complimentary transportation is available for Guests staying at the Disney Resorts Collection, Shades of Green, Walt Disney World Swan Hotel, Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel, and Walt Disney World Swan Reserve. You’ll be dropped off near the Sports Complex entrance. ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex Club runDisney Platinum and Gold members Platinum and Gold Members can enjoy early shopping access to the runDisney Merchandise Shop and runDisney-themed Brooks Running shoes at the AdventHealth Arena during the first day of the runDisney Health & Fitness Expo without a virtual queue. Platinum Members can shop from 7 AM to 8:30 AM, and Gold Members from 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM. Early access is available to Platinum and Gold members only and cannot be extended to Silver members or non-members. Loungefly and other merch at a runDisney expo The Field House and Athletic Center will be available to Club runDisney Platinum and Gold members starting at 8 AM. You can get your bib, participant shirt, and visit the exhibitors before the Expo opens to general guests. You’ll only need to join a Virtual Queue if attending Day 1 of the Expo, you don’t need to enter if you plan on visiting in the days following. To join: You must be within 45 miles of Walt Disney World Resort to enter A second virtual queue will open at 1:00 p.m. Please plan to arrive at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex no earlier than 30 minutes before your boarding group time Disney Princess Half Marathon Expo Bib & Shirt Pick-Up Updates If you’re attending the Expo on Day 1: If you are participating in the 2026 Disney Wine & Dine 10K, you will pick up your bib and shirt in the Auxiliary Court of the Field House, located on the same level that you enter. Follow the signage to your pick-up location. If you are participating in any additional races, those bibs will be available on the Main Floor of the Field House, and participant shirts will be in the Athletic Center. NEW: 5K participants will receive a bib with two tear tags. The top tear tag is for participant shirt pickup. The bottom tear tag contains your Start Group Opening Time and must remain attached until race morning. If you’re attending the Expo After Day 1: Bibs will be available on the Main Floor of the Field House & participant shirts will be located in the Athletic Center. Bib Pickup Race Day Arrival 5K Transportation If you are staying with the Disney Resorts Collection, Shades of Green, Walt Disney World Swan Hotel, Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel, and Walt Disney World Swan Reserve, Disney strongly encourages you to utilize event transportation. Continuous event transportation to and from the 5K is available between 2:30 AM and 10 AM. Guests utilizing event transportation will be dropped off and picked up in the same location at the EPCOT bus loop. Guests who use rideshare will be dropped off in the rideshare loop at EPCOT. ©runDisney 10K Transportation Bus transportation to the start area will operate from 3 AM to 5 AM and from 6:30 AM to 9 AM from the finish area. Guests who use rideshare will be dropped off in the rideshare loop at EPCOT. Half Marathon Bus transportation to the start area will run from 2:30 AM to 5 AM and from 6:30 AM to 10:30 AM from the finish area. Guests who use rideshare could be dropped off at either the Rideshare Loop from 12 AM to 4:30 AM, the Charter Lot from 4:30 AM to 10:30 AM, or the Rideshare Loop from 10:30 AM onward. ©runDisney Parking and Entry Parking is free before 7:30 AM for all race days, and participants and spectators should arrive approximately one hour before their projected race start time. Participants and spectators must enter through Security at the EPCOT Main Entrance, and failure to do so may result in disqualification. Start Times and Groups Your start group opening time will be listed on your bib. Plan to arrive one hour before your projected race start time. The 10K and Half Marathon races begin at 5 AM. Your anticipated start time range for your assigned start group will be posted in the Digital Expo and Event Guide for all race distances. EPCOT parking lot New Bib Details (5K Only) 5K bibs now include two tear tags and a timing tag: The top tear tag is used to pick up your participant shirt at the runDisney Health & Fitness Expo and will be removed when you receive it. The bottom tear tag contains your Start Group Opening Time. Keep the bottom tear tag attached until race morning. When it is time to enter your start group, hand the bottom tear tag to a runDisney cast member at the start group entrance. Do not remove the timing tag attached to the back of your bib. The bib with the Start Group Opening Time tear tag is unique to the 5K. If you are participating in the 10K or Half Marathon, there will not be a Start Group Opening Time tear tag on those bibs. Bib pickup Changing Start Group Start Groups are assigned based on anticipated finish times submitted at registration. No start group changes will be made ahead of race weekend, at the runDisney Health & Fitness Expo or onsite at the races. If the group you are running with is assigned to a different start group, you can move back to the later start group to run together. Each year, Orlando International Airport (MCO) sees millions of visitors, and for many of them, the airport serves as a gateway — and in some ways, the official start of a vacation — to Disney World, Universal Orlando, and other Central Florida tourist attractions. Orlando International Airport Now, MCO has introduced its own spin on one of Disney World’s most beloved traditions: Celebration Buttons! These complimentary personalized pieces, which allow people to show other guests and Cast Members what they’re celebrating at the resort, have become immensely popular in recent years. Cast Members will personalize these buttons with guests’ names, dates, and specifics of their celebration. Anniversary Celebration There are several variants available around Disney World, including: 1st Visit Birthday Happily Ever After for weddings, engagements, honeymoons, and anniversaries “I’m Celebrating…” that can be personalized for any occasion Celebration Button! Now MCO is getting into the fun, introducing its own personalized buttons! According to MCO’s Instagram post, these “Memories Created in Orlando” buttons are available at information desks near the security checkpoints in Terminals A, B, and C. If you’re planning a stay at a Disney World hotel soon, I have some tips for you that could change the game. BoardWalk Resort I took my toddler on a trip to Disney World, and to make sure we had the best “home away from home” setup possible, I made some FREE requests at our Disney Resort. If you’re in a similar situation, I’m here to share my full list of hotel request tips! Room Requests First up, we have the requests for the room itself! These can vary from hotel to hotel depending on the layout of the resort, but you’ll likely see a few options when you do online check-in for your trip. For my stay at the BoardWalk, my primary request was a room near the elevator. Standard Room at BoardWalk The My Disney Experience app also gave me the option to make a secondary request, and I selected a room near the lobby. Thankfully, both of my requests were granted (though it meant we had to wait a little longer for our room to be ready on check-in day). But these requests meant that it was easy to get to and from transportation, and to get my stroller to our hotel room via elevator. BoardWalk Lobby Keep in mind that there are some room types and locations that will cost you extra, and those vary by hotel. Some Disney Resorts offer paid upgrades for preferred locations, water/pool view, and other hot commodity locations. The ones that I selected were free options available during my online check-in. Items for the Room The other big category of requests you can make for your hotel is items for your room! The full list of options will vary by resort, and availability can change depending on how full your resort is during your stay, but you’ll see several options listed on the Hey Disney! monitor in your room. Hey Disney! If you don’t see something on the Hey Disney! list that you’d like to request, you can still call the front desk of your hotel or visit it personally. I did this to request a Diaper Genie. As I mentioned above, I was traveling with a toddler, and having a way to dispose of dirty diapers without filling our room’s small trash can was awesome! Lobby Check-In Other items that were available to request that would’ve been extremely helpful with my toddler were a pack ‘n’ play or crib (we brought our own), a highchair (we didn’t do much eating in our hotel room, but this would be great for the villas with full kitchens), and liquid dish soap (this would’ve been awesome for washing our bibs, sippy cups, and baby utensils before packing). Bell Services Last but not least, one of my favorite “requests” throughout the week was requesting to have my luggage brought to my room! We did a split stay, so I made good use of Bell Services when trying to transfer between hotels. If you drop your luggage off with Bell Services on the morning of a hotel transfer before 10 AM, they’ll take it to your next Disney Resort for you. Earlier this year, we saw LEGOLAND Florida debut a one-of-a-kind roller coaster called the Galacticoaster. Well, that ride has now received some high praise from the Golden Ticket Awards! The Galacticoaster LEGOLAND Florida opened its first-ever indoor roller coaster on February 27th, and it became the park’s most technologically advanced ride ever. Now, LEGOLAND is being celebrated for a standout year in innovation after earning top recognition in Amusement Today’s 2026 Golden Ticket Awards, and Galacticoaster is at the center. The brand-new Galacticoaster was just named No. 1 Best Theme Concept at the 2026 Golden Ticket Awards, securing a major accolade for the new LEGO Galaxy land. This is a huge payoff considering it is part of Merlin Entertainments’ largest single in-park investment in the history of its U.S. attractions. Earlier this year, we had an opportunity to visit Efteling theme park in Europe, which was one of the most unique and charming theme parks we think we’ve ever been to. Spoiler alert: we LOVED IT. ©Efteling We recently learned that the theme park was refreshing one of its lands, Raveleijn, which would transform the area with a new storyline, new decor, and new effects. That land will reopen on December 1st, and ahead of its opening, Efteling has shared a new look at one of that land’s NEW rides. The new ride, Ravenring, was previously described as a new open-air “rotating flying experience.” Efteling recently posted a video showing some of the behind-the-scenes details of the new ride, which is currently being constructed at the park. The video starts with a working model of the ride, which resembles a sort of swings attraction. The elaborate medallion at the top of the ride will spin along with the ride, too. The ride will feature detailed woodwork and hand-forged steel with tiny details. ©Efteling Ravelring features winged vehicles inspired by ravens. The ride vehicles are attached to long arms that riders can move with a lever to tilt the ride in or out while it’s spinning. You can also see the carved wing details in the ride on the model. ©Efteling We also see the actual ride in action as two engineers hop on for a spin. The ride spins at a pretty good speed, and yeah, I’m getting dizzy just watching it! It can accommodate up to 36 people at a time and has a minimum height requirement of one meter. The attraction will also be decorated with banners and the five magical elements associated with Raveleijn. Let’s be honest… waiting in lines at Disney World is something you’d expect to do on your vacation. From rides and shows to dining at quick-service locations and shopping, there is a lot to do and a lot to wait for. But you’d never really expect to wait in lines at Disney Springs. A PhotoPass studio. And you may be surprised to learn that this location is actually one of the longest lines you’ll wait in during your time at Disney Springs! Disney Springs PhotoPass Studio Yes, really. It can be an even longer line than the one at Gideon’s Bakehouse, and those lines get LONG — trust me! I’ve waited 40 minutes just to get a cookie; don’t judge me. And although the PhotoPass studio is a little hidden, a lot of families pass by it and take the opportunity to take pictures and make memories! Disney Springs PhotoPass Studio These studios are unlike any other photo opportunities you’d find around the parks — these photos are taken in front of immersive backgrounds with some of your favorite Disney characters from their popular films! No reservations are required to take photos, and it’s completely free, and that’s why it’s so popular! The Frozen Background! Right now, the PhotoPass studio at Disney Springs offers backgrounds from Toy Story and Frozen, two VERY popular franchises. There are two Frozen backgrounds — the Arendelle castle and the North Mountain, where you can see friends like Olaf and Sven, as well as the Snowgies on the screen! Look! It’s Olaf! We recently went to grab some photos, and these backgrounds were so popular that we waited over 20 minutes just to get our pictures taken! That’s more than the average wait times at Expedition Everest at Animal Kingdom, Alien Swirling Saucers in Hollywood Studios, Living with the Land in EPCOT, and Haunted Mansion in Magic Kingdom this past month! Disney World has been working on just about EVERYTHING at the resort…the parks are getting new lands, expansions, and rides, and hotels are getting refurbishments, new rooms, and more. Well, Disney World restaurants are also getting some refreshing. The Turf Club Bar & Grill! That includes The Turf Club Bar and Grill at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort, which closed in late August for a refurbishment. Now, that restaurant is scheduled to reopen on September 30th, and Disney just dropped a first look at the restaurant’s full menu. Can you believe it’s already almost October? We certainly can’t, but we are excited because it means that one of our favorite times at Disney World is right around the corner. It’s almost Christmas time in Disney World! Don’t get us wrong, we love the Halloween decor all over the parks, but what amazes us each and every year is how FAST Disney switches over from Halloween to the holidays! The majority of Halloween decor is in Magic Kingdom each year, with bits and pieces in the other three parks. For the holidays, though, each park gets its own transformation, and it’s so close we can taste it. If you’ve never seen it happen before, allow us to show you just a bit of what it’s like to get you as excited as we are! To give you an idea of how epic this transformation really is, let’s take a look at some photos of how Magic Kingdom in particular looks right now, with all the Halloween decor set up. We love these pumpkins! Again, the other three parks do have small Halloween nods throughout them, but Magic Kingdom is the main event. You’ll find jack-o’-lanterns all over the park, specifically on Main Street, U.S.A., and one of our favorite decorations is the pumpkin wreaths you’ll find around the park. We love the pumpkin wreaths! When Halloween season officially ends on October 1st, Disney races against the clock to get all the Halloween decor down. In years past, we’ve seen nearly all the Halloween decor in Magic Kingdom come down on November 1st, which is already quite an impressive transformation. Last year, we spotted Christmas decor arrive in the park as early as November 2nd! Wreaths were up last year starting November 2nd! One of the most impressive parts of the year is that Disney gets their Christmas trees in the parks, even the massive one on Main Street, up in just ONE night. In 2025, Disney had the iconic Magic Kingdom Christmas tree up by November 4th, and had put it up literally overnight! In 2025, the Christmas tree was up by November 4th EPCOT, on the other hand, usually waits until later in the month of November to put up its decorations, since Festival of the Holidays, EPCOT’s final festival of the year, doesn’t start until after Thanksgiving. Last year, we saw the decorations begin to arrive on November 21st, which was exactly a week before the festival started on November 28th. EPCOT Christmas Tree Believe it or not, the park that usually gets its holiday decorations FIRST is none other than Disney’s Hollywood Studios! Last year, we saw the iconic stars on Sunset Blvd go up on November 1st! Now, the rest of the decor did take just under a week to follow, arriving on November 7th, but if you want some holiday cheer immediately after Halloween, this will be the park to head to. We love seeing these each year! Finally, we’ve got Disney’s Animal Kingdom, which we feel is a supremely underrated park during the holiday season. Not only is it absolutely gorgeous, especially that massive Christmas tree at the very front of the park (which arrived on November 7th last year), but one of the most beautiful parts of the park’s offering is the Merry Menagerie. Animal Kingdom Christmas Tree The Merry Menagerie is a collection of life-size arctic puppets — polar bears, reindeer, foxes, penguins, and more — brought to life through skilled puppeteers who make them walk, blink and even soar above each guest.  They’re beyond magical, and truly, it’s an experience we think everyone needs to have at least once! Disney Springs Disney just filed six Notice of Commencement permits that could impact your next Disney World trip. These permits could mean refurbishments are headed to popular Disney World spots! Disney just filed a Notice of Commencement Permit for general construction on a building behind The Haunted Mansion in Magic Kingdom. This is likely the building next to the ride in the Piston Peak model at D23, but Disney hasn’t yet announced what the building will house. Piston Peak Model at D23 2026 Over at Disney Springs, Disney filed permits for The BOATHOUSE. This general construction could mean a refurbishment is being planned. The BOATHOUSE in Disney Springs Paddlefish could also potentially see a refurbishment with another Notice of Commencement permit for general construction. Paddlefish Another refurbishment could hit Raglan Road, where another general construction permit was filed. Raglan Road Plus, the LEGO Store was hit with a general construction permit, too. LEGO Store at Disney Springs And last but not least, the bridge that connects Frontera Cocina and Pandora Jewelry to Raglan Road and Morimoto Asia will undergo general construction. We’re off to the races! The Turf Club Bar and Grill is reopening its doors to welcome guests at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa on September 30, and I’m here to bring you a first look at the menu. Inspired by turn-of-the-century Upstate New York and racing culture, The Turf Club Bar and Grill combines vintage equestrian memorabilia with scenic views of the golf course greens, Lake Buena Vista, and Disney Springs. But history and stunning views aren’t all it has to offer. Settle in and unwind at this welcoming spot with satisfying shareable plates, comforting classics, and spirited sips from a menu that’s ready to go the distance. Head out of the starting gate with winning appetizers, such as the savory French Onion Soup with melted fontina and Gruyère, and the plant-based Sweet-and-Spicy Brussels Sprouts brought home with a piquant agave glaze. For the main event, opt for the Slow-roasted Prime Rib rounded out with a baked potato and seasonal vegetables, or the Smoked Salmon-wrapped Halibut garnished with the edible flower nasturtium from our very own The Land Pavilion at EPCOT! For pours, we’ve got some real contenders! For our jockeys of all ages, sip on the Enchanted Grove Lime Splash with refreshing flavors of cucumber and mint. It feels like just yesterday that the area once known as the Muppet Courtyard closed down at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. However, it was actually over a year ago, and the land’s highly anticipated replacement is opening NEXT YEAR. ©Disney Based on the classic 2001 Pixar film Monsters, Inc., Monstropolis has risen quickly from the remains of the former Muppet Courtyard. Now, as the land is set to open (almost in full, but we’ll get to that) in 2027, let’s take a look at how it’s evolved! Before we look at what the area looks like now, a quick reminder of what Muppet Courtyard looked like during its Muppet-based prime, including the iconic fountain and PizzeRizzo… Muppets Courtyard … and of course Muppet*Vision 3D! Muppet*Vision 3D The area closed for good in June 2025, less than a year after Monstropolis was announced at the 2024 D23 Ultimate Fan Event. Work began within days! ©bioreconstruct By the end of 2025, many of the previously existing structures had been stripped of nearly all theming. @bioreconstruct on X As 2026 wore on, further thematic elements of the former Muppet*Vision 3-D theater were stripped away. ©bioreconstruct As summer arrived, Disney began sharing some official images from within the land. ©Disney At the 2026 D23 Ultimate Fan Event, Disney confirmed and solidified multiple details about the land, including that The Glob Theater — in the former home of Muppet*Vision 3D — will host the Welcome to Monstropolis show, a presentation hosted by Mike and Sulley which will “introduce humans to Monstropolis.” ©Disney Meanwhile, there will also be Archie’s Scare Pig Pizza and the Monsters University Alumni Club — which seems like they’ll likely take up the space once occupied by Pizzerizzo — the Scareporium store, and Harryhausen’s Restaurant. Based directly on the eatery seen in the film, the sushi restaurant will offer a unique menu… oh, and a massive sushi-slinging Animatronic! ©Disney Disney also confirmed the 2027 opening date for these portions of the land (again, hang tight, we’ll explain), and work has continued at a breathtaking pace since, as these photos from September exemplify. ©bioreconstruct from September 2026 A look at the Glob Theater… ©bioreconstruct … and the former PizzeRizzo. ©bioreconstruct However, even with all that work, Disney has confirmed that the land’s main attraction won’t be opening with the rest of the land. The long-awaited door coaster, which will mimic the climax of the film by taking guests inside the Monsters, Inc. factory, lift them 40 feet into the air in four seconds, and utilize Disney’s first suspended ride system, won’t be ready in time for the land’s debut. ©Disney Unlike the rest of the land’s attractions, the coaster isn’t being built on previously developed park land. Rather, it’s being built on the site of a former Cast Member parking lot. While the coaster won’t be ready next year, that’s not to say that work on the ride isn’t happening. For many Disney World visitors, dining is an essential part of their visit. From tried-and-true restaurants to annual seasonal offerings, many Disney fans have longtime favorites that they stick with every single visit. However, doing so may be a mistake in October. ©Disney The tenth month of 2026 will see some major new additions to Disney World dining, including a long-awaited nighttime lounge, some mid-festival additions to the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival, and MORE! Hurly-Burly Lounge Since JellyRolls — the BoardWalk’s very popular longtime dueling piano bar location — shut its doors back in April 2025, the hotel’s nighttime offerings have been limited, taking away a big chunk of the appeal of staying at the resort. However, that’s about to change on October 1st thanks to the opening of the Hurly-Burly Lounge! Hurly-Burly During the day, this new entertainment offering will act as a family-friendly venue with activities and trivia games. At night, it will transition to a 21+ live music venue with coastal-inspired cocktails and light bites. Beginning on October 4th, the Frontierland restaurant is transforming into a limited-time pop-up experience. Reservations for the pop-up will open on September 29th, and we’re sure it’s going to be an extremely popular spot! The Scat Cat’s Club – Café and Scat Cat’s Club – Lounge will close beginning on October 6th. During the closure, a temporary bar will be available near the café from 5 PM to 11 PM each night. Beignets and coffee will also be available at Sassagoula Floatworks & Food Factory, located just a few steps away. If you’re visiting during the Halloween season, don’t worry; Ghoulish Delight Beignets will also be available there through November 1st! Ghoulish Beignets The refurbishment is expected to take until December for the Café, while the Lounge is expected to open in January 2027. If you’re planning a Disney World trip, you’re probably working with a budget that covers your hotel room, tickets, food, and everything you’ll need while you’re in your Disney World hotel and at the parks. But you also have to figure out HOW to get to Disney World. Southwest Airlines If you’re flying like so many of us, you’ll want to grab the best flight deal you can, and now could be the time for that because Southwest Airlines has a special offer with one-way flights starting at just $100. Southwest Airlines is currently having a HUGE fall fare sale where you could score flights for as little as $100 each way for travel from October 13th through March 3rd, 2027 (so it’s really a fall, winter, and early spring sale!). HOWEVER, here’s the catch: you have to book your flight by September 24th at 11:59 PM PT. So you’ve only got a few days to grab this deal. It might be the time to decide on your next Disney World vacation! Southwest Airlines at MCO You’ll need a 21-day advance purchase to qualify for the fare, and the following travel dates are blacked out: November 14th, November 25th, November 28th, November 30th, December 23rd, December 26th, December 28th, December 30th, January 1st, January 4th, January 18th, and February 15th. This fare is nonrefundable, and seats, days, and markets are limited. You may also need to pay additional fees for things like boarding priority, seat selection, and checked bags. So you’ll want to keep that in mind when you’re budgeting for air travel. ©Southwest Airlines You’ll also have to plan how you’ll get from the airport to Disney World. If flying into Orlando International Airport, you have several options, including renting a car, getting a rideshare service like Uber or Lyft, or booking a shared shuttle service like Mears Connect. One thing you can always count on in Disney World is new snacks popping up all the time. And with all of these different options, it can be very difficult to know what you should try on your next trip. We love the dark chocolate! Which is why we review all the newest snacks around Disney World so you know what to try and what you might be able to skip. Well, we just tried two snacks in Disney Springs, and we are bringing you all of our thoughts! On our last visit to Disney Springs, we went to two spots to try different treats, starting with Amorette’s Patisserie, where we grabbed the Toasted Coconut Flan for $9. This is Coconut Flan and Coconut Pound Cake, topped with a piece of chocolate and caramelized Pineapple. Toasted Coconut Flan This was a very delicious coconut-forward treat. In fact, the most prominent flavor here was definitely coconut; it even overpowered the pound cake. This is amazing if you are a coconut fan, but if you do not love that flavor, we suggest skipping this since it is so strong. SO much coconut! The flan itself is creamy and rich, while the pound cake was moist and very delicious. The coconut flakes do add an unexpected crunch to the pound cake that wasn’t unpleasant, but it was a little shocking if you were just expecting a normal cake texture. Toasted Coconut Flan The toppings were an amazing addition here, with the chocolate adding a great rich flavor and the sweetness of the caramelized pineapple creating a fantastic balance. Overall, if you love coconut and are looking for a rich and very tasty treat, this is an amazing option. Toasted Coconut Flan Next, we took a trip over to The Ganachery to try the Mango Chili Lime Square for $3. This is Mango Ganache covered in Dark Chocolate, with Chili-Lime Seasoning. Mango Chili Lime Square This piece of chocolate may be small, but it was delicious. The dark chocolate was the prominent flavor, but the mango added an amazing subtle note that complemented the chocolate very well. We love the dark chocolate! The spicy salt on top of the chocolate was also an amazing touch. If you are a fan of dark chocolate, this would be a great small treat to try. And this one is a seasonal flavor, so if you are interested, make sure to try it before it’s gone! Every once in a while, the DFB team gets into a HOT debate. Most of the time, it’s about which Disney World ride is best, which park snack reigns supreme, or whether a turkey leg is an abomination or not. Let’s eat some hot dogs! Recently, a brand-new restaurant opened at Universal Orlando CityWalk, and we were lucky enough to get invited to preview the spot before Fat One’s Hot Dogs officially welcomed diners. That meant that we had to decide who exactly was going to go to the media event, and it caused quite the tiff with multiple coworkers fighting over who would receive the honor. Fat One’s Hot Dogs and Italian Ice is officially open at CityWalk in Universal Orlando, and we got invited to check it out before its opening date. This led to a hot debate among the DFB team about who, exactly, was going to get to attend the event — and by hot debate, I mean that I was trying my hardest to make sure that person was ME. Unfortunately, I am also an editor here at DFB, and on the date of the event, I was scheduled to edit and run the site. Fat One’s Hot Dogs It was close, though, as we only had one other person available since it was a little last-minute, and since that person happened to be one of our reporters, well, it obviously made sense for them to attend the event instead of me (especially because I live about 90 minutes from Orlando). But, you see, I love hot dogs, corn dogs, you name it — it’s kind of part of my identity at this point. Everyone knows I got that dog in me. I even have a wiener dog (his name is Tyrion, and he is perfect). So, hot dogs are kind of my thing, and I was sad that it would not work out. There it is! What’s even funnier is that I was actually at the opening of the Fat One’s location at the Florida Mall in Orlando back in 2016, because I knew that Joey Fatone would be there, just like he was at this media event. So, I guess it’s only fair that I passed that torch onto one of our reporters so that they could enjoy the experience as well. As I was writing this article, I was curious about how many of our team members actually like hot dogs, since I know they can be rather divisive themselves. Most of our team here at DFB are staunchly pro-hot dog, with only a handful of folks standing against the iconic snack. A few were fans of hot dogs, but said that it entirely depended on how they were cooked and which toppings were on it, which, I suppose, is understandable. Food menu Luckily, our reporter had a great time at the Fat One’s event, and raved about the hot dogs themselves — so I can’t wait to visit and give them a try! Our reporter got to try Joey’s favorite (which is also now our fave), The Angelo ($10.49), a hot dog with tzatziki, tomatoes, red onion, olive tapenade, feta, and fresh dill on a brioche bun. Joey described it as a Mediterranean take on a hot dog, and he’s SO right. It’s fresh and light, but still loaded with flavor. The tzatziki adds a tanginess, while the veggies add a nice crunch. The dill brings in some brightness, while the feta and olive tapenade are more subtle and blend in with the other flavors. This is a hot dog that could pretty much please anyone. The Angelo We also had a chance to try The Fat One ($15.99), which is a footlong hot dog piled with roasted pork, pepperoni, chili beans, cheddar cheese sauce, red onion sauce, and fries on a soft bun. It’s a lot, and it’s messy, and we really hope you’re hungry if you order this. The meat flavors are most of what you get in each bite, along with a hint of flavor from the beans and the mild, creamy cheese sauce. The fries add a crispy potato flavor to each bite. This is for those of you who love loaded hot dogs. The Fat One We’ll be on the lookout for additional snack updates you need to know about and more. Disney Springs is full of great restaurants, including some really good table service restaurants. Now, we love a good sit-down table service meal, but the best part? Well, for us, it’s usually dessert. Who doesn’t love ending a great meal with a tasty something sweet? Maria & Enzo’s Ristorante Well, if you’re always going to order dessert (or sometimes ONLY order dessert) like we do, we’ve got great news. You can order dessert at three Disney Springs restaurants and help support a cause that helps kids with cancer. From now through October 31st, three Disney Springs Restaurants are offering specialty desserts featuring a homemade ginger snap cookie. A portion of the proceeds of sales for each of these desserts will go to Cookies for Kids’ Cancer, a nonprofit group dedicated to funding research for improved and less toxic treatments for childhood cancer. So buy a cookie-featuring dessert and help kids with cancer! The restaurants include Maria & Enzo’s, Enzo’s Hideaway, and The Edison. We love to spend days in theme parks, but let’s face it…that kind of vacation can sometimes be EXHAUSTING (seriously, just a day walking all over EPCOT can wear you out). So if you’re looking for a different kind of vacation, a cruise might be just what you’re looking for. It’s relaxing, but there’s still plenty to do because most cruise ships are like little cities at sea. ©Royal Caribbean Well, Royal Caribbean is one of the most popular cruise lines out there, and they’re building a NEW ship, the fifth in their Icon Class. And now, we have a first look at what construction of that new Royal Caribbean ship is looking like. Royal Caribbean is celebrating the start of the actual physical constructon of the new ship and recently had a keel-laying ceremony at Meyer Turku shipyard in Turku, Finland. There’s still a lot of work that needs to be done on the new ship, but it won’t set sail on its maiden voyage until 2028. It’s fascinating to see how these massive cities-at-sea are built, though, right? ©Royal Caribbean So what happens during a keel-laying celebration? Well, the first block of steel is placed in the dry dock at the shipyard where the ship will be constructed. The keel is the backbone of the ship and provides the foundation for the ship’s construction, so it’s pretty important. As part of the celebration, Royal Caribbean and Meyer Turki also put a layer of freshly minted coins beneath the steel block. This is a long-standing shipbuilding tradition that is said to give the ship good fortune for its future journeys. ©Royal Caribbean Royal Caribbean isn’t stopping with this ship, though. Two more Icon Class ships are in the works, including one in 2029 and another in 2030. It’s a rite of passage to take family photos when you’re in Disney World! A Cast Member in Magic Kingdom! How else are you going to look back fondly on your trip 20 years from now if you don’t take at least a few pictures? Thankfully, Disney has PhotoPass photographers stationed throughout the park to take your photo, and you can even purchase the Memory Maker package to download those photos to your phone. But one of the best reasons to visit the PhotoPass photograpers is the Magic Shots! There are some NEW Magic Shots available right now for Hispanic and Latin American Heritage Month, now through October 15th. These are special photos where PhotoPass photographers add in some “magic” effects that will appear once the photo arrives in your My Disney Experience app. The Magic Shots available for the next few weeks include several popular Disney characters! The Disney Afternoon programming on Disney Channel is ICONIC, and for a good reason. Some of Disney’s most popular — and iconic — animated series were shown during that time. That’s why we love seeing some of those characters celebrating when Disneyland has its Disney Channel Nite. Darkwing Duck ©Disney Well, one of the most iconic shows during Disney Afternoon programming HAD to be Darkwing Duck, a series that cast a duck in what is essentially a parody of Batman. It shouldn’t have worked, but it did, and fans have been begging for the show to come back ever since. There were even reports that a new series was in the works way back in 2020. Well, Disney finally confirmed that a new Darkwing Duck series is coming to Disney+ soon. A brand new Darkwing Duck series has been greenlit, which will bring Drake Mallard back as the iconic crime fighter Darkwing Duck. The series is being executive produced by Sean Tretta (Star Trek: Picard) and Borja Peña Gorostegui (Lost & Crowned). Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Alex McAtee and Gabby Grantham are producing for Point Grey Pictures, while Tad Stones, the original Darkwing Duck creator, serves as a consultant on the new series. ©Disney But that’s not all. The series will also feature some pretty BIG celebrities voicing characters in the series, starting with Mark Hamill (yep, Luke Skywalker, the Joker, etc. himself) as Darkwing Duck. Other voice talent includes Seth Rogen as Launchpad McDuck, Lizzy Caplan as Gosalyn Mallard, Lilimar as Duckie, Dan Stevens as Glade McTowers, Tiffany Shepis as Rosa, Kathryn Newton as Firecracker, Teo Briones as Timb, Tyler Dean Flores as Pondsy, Katie Rich as Officer Shanks, and Nat Faxon as Officer Webb. That is a LOT of star power! Darkwing Duck Here’s the premise of the new series: “For the last 35 years, Darkwing Duck has been trapped in his worst nightmare: an alternate world that’s never heard of his superhero exploits. Now a rebellious teen named Duckie who knows all about his heroic past shows up to pull this ego-fueled vigilante back into battle. Together, this unlikely duo will get dangerous to fight old enemies like Negaduck and Megavolt and reunite with allies Launchpad, Gosalyn and Morgana to save the entire universe.” ©Disney The original Darkwing Duck series ran for 91 episodes and scored an Emmy Award nomination. The series stayed alive in syndication for a while, too, while also inspiring several video games. Recently, Darkwing Duck has made an appearance in the new DuckTales series.
