Alright, Star Wars fans, we’re warning you now that you might want to sit down. We’ve got some VERY exciting news, and if you’re anything like the few big fans on our team, this may be the best Disney news you get all week. Mando and Grogu in Disney World Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is one of the best places to find roaming characters in all of Disney World, but that does mean it can be hard to take a quick photo with them. Unlike regular meet-and-greets, roaming characters wander throughout their land and interact with guests, but they can’t have an actual photo line form. Previously, The Mandalorian and Grogu were characters you could only see wandering, but now that’s changed! There’s now a specific, dedicated spot on the My Disney Experience App for you to meet The Mandalorian and Grogu! You’ll find him near the Millennium Falcon, very close to where Chewbacca himself often meets. If you’re looking for specific times, you’ll find them listed on his page in the app. This means no more hoping he’ll be wandering when you’re in the area — now you know exactly when you can meet them. ©Disney He looks to be meeting throughout the day, beginning at around 10 AM and finishing up around 6 PM. Keep in mind, though, that if the weather isn’t good, he may not meet at his normal times, and schedule changes can take place throughout the day. When in doubt, ask a nearby Cast Member! We found him! When we arrived, the line was decently long, but most of it was in the shade, which is nice for the warmer days that still plague Orlando, despite it being October. The line moved decently quickly, but it will still take a decent amount of time, so pack your patience if you really would like to meet them. Now that they have a designated meeting spot, this means they will very rarely be seen wandering around land, as characters usually have set-in-stone meeting spots OR are roaming — usually not both. The line moved pretty fast! Looking for more Disney’s Hollywood Studios news? Check out our posts below! More Recent Disney's Hollywood Studios News! We’re about to go get McDonald’s WAY more than we were originally planning this month, because now we’re on a mission — we MUST collect all of these new Boo Buckets! Boo Bucket in 2022 That’s right, you read that correctly — McDonald’s is officially bringing back their Boo Buckets for another year this spooky season, but this time, they have a Disney twist to them. We’re as big of a fan of Disney Villains as the next person, and now it’s time to collect the NEW line of Disney Villain themed Boo Buckets that are coming out soon! Snackolator on X (formerly Twitter) has helped release the news about these new Disney Villain Boo Buckets, and we now know there will be five that we can collect. Based on the photo shown, there will be buckets themed to Ursula, Maleficent, Scar, Jafar, and Cruella De Vil. Could this all be because Disney is working on Villains Land in Magic Kingdom? It’s certainly possible! ©Snackolator on X Last year, the Boo Buckets were released on October 21st, but there wasn’t a Disney design — it was the classic Ghost, Pumpkin, and Goblin, plus a Cat and a Zombie. We do know that each bucket this year, like years past, will come with a pack of stickers, so you can decorate yours however you’d like. ©McDonald’s circa 2025 In the past, the buckets have come with Happy Meals, so you can choose between a burger or chicken nuggets, a side, and a beverage. We think the buckets can be great for trick-or-treating purposes, Halloween decorations, or, in our case, you can repurpose them as a planter! Isn’t it cute?! We’ll be sure to keep an ear out for the latest news about this addition, because we know we’ll be running to our local McDonald’s in an effort to collect them all. In the meantime, are you heading to Disney World soon and don’t know where to eat? Check out our helpful video below! Stay tuned to DFB for all the latest Disney news (and McDonald’s, considering the two have a long history, and hey, we just really like McDonald’s)! Okay, who’s getting excited about visiting Monstropolis next year in Disney’s Hollywood Studios? We certainly are! We can’t wait to roam the streets where Mike and Sulley spend their lives and check out Harryhausen’s, the Welcome to Monstropolis show, and the new roller coaster based on the movie’s doors scene (which will be opening after the rest of the land). ©Disney Well, we just visited the construction site of Monstropolis and noticed some updates, so we knew we had to share them with you. First up, we got a close-up look at some new details that have been added to one of the buildings in Monstropolis. Some colorful tiles that look almost like dragon (or monster) scales have been added to the top of one of the buildings. The tiles seem to fall into the blue, gold, and brown color schemes. New tiles Here’s a look at the other side of the top of that building where these tiles have been placed. Really, these little details are what’s going to really make this land POP. It’s giving so much personality What’s even more surprising is that Disney has totally jumped the gun and is already selling Monstropolis merchandise! A new merchandise cart popped up in front of the construction site where you can buy Monsters, Inc. souvenirs RIGHT NOW. Talk about getting the anticipation going, huh? The merch cart included the Scream Canister water bottle that we LOVE, plushes, a Monsters University Loungefly bag, shirts, and ears. New merch cart! You can also grab a variety of Monsters, Inc. hats, although we also spotted a Grogu hat, which seems a LITTLE out of place, don’t ‘ya think? Hats Of course, we imagine Disney has special Monstropolis souvenirs that we’ll only see once the new land opens, but for now, you can get ready for the opening of the new land with some fun merchandise. In the meantime, we’ll keep an eye on Monstropolis construction and keep you updated, so stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more. Disney is gearing up for another animated film to hit theaters later this year, and we’ve got a feeling we’re about to walk out of the theater with tear tracks down our faces. ©Disney At D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event this past August, we learned more about the casting for this upcoming film, as well as got a look at some of the designs for the characters and the world. Disney showed the first public scenes from the film back in June, and now, we’ve got even MORE details about this upcoming film, which releases on November 25th, 2026. What we’ve taken away from it all is this — you’re going to want to bring your tissues. Recent interviews with the creative team behind the film have revealed just how much the family dynamic and the relationship between mother and daughter are important to this story. Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Chief Creative Officer Jared Bush stated that it became clear during the process that the team wanted this to be a mother-daughter story, and that they wanted to make sure “that their relationship was actually the star of the film.” Bush continued on to say that the hope is that both parents and kids will watch the film and understand where each other is coming from. For kids, it may be realizing what their parents are experiencing, and for the parents, it may be remembering what it was like to be a teenager. ©Disney He continued on, saying that getting to that point in the film took a lot of intense questioning, such as asking, “Does this feel true to life? Is this as emotional as it could be? And, as you’re watching it, do you believe it?” He described the lock-in between our main characters, mom Alice and teenager Billie, as a “North Star,” stating that once they really dug into why the characters’ communication styles weren’t cohesive with one another and why they were facing the issues they were is when the story got fun, as it allowed them the freedom to really figure out that dynamic. ©Disney Dana Ledoux Miller, one of the writers of the film, also talked about how while the film takes place in a fantasy world, the story is grounded in genuine, deep emotion. She continued, saying, “We’re here to create Disney magic, where people are going to laugh and they’re going to feel something. As long as we’re tracking that, then that’s our North Star. We’re having fun together, and that’s where the great writing comes in.” When talking about the characters specifically, she speaks of how the team found themselves rooting for Alice in the early stages of the process, as both she herself and director Fawn Veerasunthorn are both parents, so they understood her point of view. Tapping into Billie’s younger mindset forced them to remember how it felt to be an early teenager so that audiences can find themselves understanding Billie on a deep level. ©Disney Jason Hand, who also directed the film, mentioned that filmmakers pulled from their own experiences as parents to tell the story, saying, “There are reasons. For Billie to discover what those reasons are, why Alice chose the things she chose, is really fascinating. It’s something we can all relate to in our own lives — finding out something about your parents you maybe didn’t know, like what they wanted to do but never chase. And that makes this a very human story in a very fantastical world.” The interview also revealed that Rashida Jones, who voices Alice, was cast first, and Hailee Steinfeld, who voices Billie, was cast later. Roy Conli, one of the producers of the film, called their performances “so beautiful” and mentioned the “symbiosis” between them. The team really thinks that both parents and kids will really enjoy this film, seeing as both perspectives are so deeply explored. ©Disney When talking about the world created in the film, artists from nearly every department took extra time and care to “develop a system of tactile magic largely influenced by nature, set within a vast, colorful realm.” The audience will be discovering the world of Hexe through Billie’s eyes, and we’ll be learning about the world of magic right alongside her. Jason Hand is quoted saying, “She [Billie] knows all about witches and magic from our human, contemporary world. So, we decided, ‘Let’s lean into that — and then let’s twist her expectations.‘” The magic in Hexe also comes from within the person themselves, so the witch or wizard themselves is a key component of every spell. This means that the team had to figure out what magic looks like for each character, and we’ll also get to see some Easter Eggs to past Disney films in the magic of the realm as well, like the enchanted feather quill pen Quill (voiced by Tracey Ullman) and the magical journal Quire (voiced by Stephen Fry), who greet Billie at the entrance to Hexe. ©Disney The idea that every witch or wizard has their own unique magic is a very important part of the film, and a strong metaphor, with Veerasunthorn saying that the real magic of the film “is your potential. It’s up to you how you manifest it, what you choose to do with it, whether it’s for good or evil.” Want to see more of what happened at D23 when we were there? Check out our video below! Lace up your sneakers, start stretching, and get yourself to Disney World, because we need to talk about runDisney! ©Disney The next runDisney race is the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend from October 22nd to October 25th. However, as excited as we are, we’re not here to talk about that race. We want to talk about the 2027 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, because we just got a first look at the medals! From January 6th to January 10th, 2027, Disney World will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Walt Disney World Half Marathon. Fans and athletes from all over the world are invited to participate in the race led by Donald Duck, who will be the star of the show throughout the weekend. runDisney setup Being a part of the race is so much fun, and the exclusive Disney medals are the cherry on top! Disney just dropped a first look at the medals coming to the 2027 Walt Disney World Half Marathon, and we’re loving each and every one of them. Mickey’s pal Pluto is featured on the 5K medal, and as you can see, Donald Duck is making his appearance on it as well. ©Disney The 10K medal features the beloved chipmunks, Chip & Dale. It’s got an eye-catching pink and magenta color scheme with the characters framed with a cutout silver border. The same spinning Donald piece is featured on this medal. ©Disney No need for the smaller spinning Donald piece on the Half Marathon medal, because Donald Duck is front and center. The medal is in the shape of the number 30, celebrating the 30 years of races. The cool thing about this medal is that it has a hinged locket design. ©Disney Open it up, and you’ll find Daisy Duck on the inside! ©Disney We know Donald is the star, but it’s not a Disney event without Mickey and Minnie Mouse, who are featured on the Marathon medal. The medal has Mickey and Minnie running with “26.2 Miles” above them, on a gorgeously designed background. Yes, Donald Duck is still featured on this medal too. ©Disney Are you up for a challenge? Or, should we say, Goofy’s Challenge? This medal is designed in a very unique way, with the medal having two doors that open up. On the face of the medal, you get the challenge name and Goofy running. ©Disney Open it up, and you’ll find Donald Duck holding up three medals, as well as “39.3 Miles” lettering, which is the total miles needed to complete the challenge. ©Disney Lastly, if you complete the 48.6-mile distance, you’ll get the Dopey Challenge medal. The medal is a hinged locket in Dopey’s colors of purple and green. The front shows Dopey leaping forward on a stunning background. ©Disney Open it up, and you’ll see Dopey holding six medals on one side and “48.6 Miles” on the other side. ©Disney We can’t wait for the 2027 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend from January 6th to the 10th. On Monday, October 12th, a man tragically fell from the top of the Goliath roller coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia after his restraint was not properly locked. Mako at SeaWorld Orlando Other roller coasters manufactured by the same company are now facing scrutiny as concerns about the safety of the manufacturer’s ride restraints begin to rise. This includes a few different rides at SeaWorld Orlando as well as Universal Orlando’s Islands of Adventure, and one of those rides has already closed out of an abundance of caution. According to WESH 2, multiple witnesses on the Goliath attraction at the time of the incident stated that the man fell from a car on the roller coaster. Goliath was made by the Swiss company Bolliger & Mabillard, and after the incident, attention immediately turned to other rides that the company has made. This includes four rides at SeaWorld, one at Universal Islands of Adventure, and four coasters at Busch Gardens in Tampa, Florida. Mako Out of an abundance of caution, SeaWorld Orlando has closed Mako as of today, Tuesday, October 13th. A spokesperson from the park shared that Mako will remain closed while engineers and safety experts make sure the restraint system and the rest of the ride are working as they should be. The ride opened in 2016 and fortunately has not seen any serious incidents in the past 10 years of its operation. The other rides at SeaWorld that were manufactured by the same company are Manta, Pipeline, and Penguin Trek. Over at Islands of Adventure, The Hulk roller coaster is the only attraction manufactured by Bolliger & Mabillard. The Incredible Hulk Coaster Michael Haggard, an attorney who has represented the families of those killed or injured on rides, said that he would be very concerned about this incident and what it means. He continued on to say, “The question surrounds itself as ‘Are these restraint systems proper? Are they dual restraint systems, meaning a lap bar and a seat belt? What is the situation?’ And yes, every ride has the same risk of someone being ejected.” SeaWorld WESH 2 also received the following statement from the co-owner of ride maker Bolliger & Mabillard: “We are deeply saddened by this tragic accident. Our thoughts are with the family and those affected. We are actively investigating the incident and will not comment further until we have a better understanding of what happened.” Manta Ride We share our deepest condolences to all those affected by this horrible tragedy and will continue to keep you updated as the investigation progresses. We need somebody to tell us to calm down, because we’re freaking out about this fan-favorite movie franchise returning! ©IMDb For the past few years, there was chatter about a new Narnia movie on the way. Then, earlier this year, it was announced that the film will be called Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew. Now, we finally got a look at the very first poster, and things are starting to feel even more real! This film is being brought to life by Greta Gerwig. And in a new post from Netflix, they revealed the poster, which reads “A Universe Begins” and features kids riding on what could be a gryphon and what looks to be the silhouette of Aslan. ©Netflix Despite it being a Netflix film, the movie is scheduled to hit theaters on February 12th, 2027, and then debut on Netflix on April 2nd, 2027. The Magician’s Nephew is the sixth book in C.S. Lewis’ hit series, but it is actually the first story chronologically, focusing on the creation of Narnia. This will be the first-ever film adaptation of this book. ©Netflix The movie will star Emma Mackey as the White Witch, as well as Cary Mulligan, Meryl Streep, and Daniel Craig. Greta Gerwig, who’s done movies such as Barbie, Little Women, and Lady Bird, will direct the new Narnia. “I was a child when I first read The Magician’s Nephew, and I fell in love with the gorgeously improbable but completely brilliant concept of a cosmic lion singing the world of Narnia to life,” says Gerwig. ©Netflix The movie’s original score will be composed by Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt, who have worked with Greta Gerwig before on Barbie. Sneak previews of the film only in IMAX will start on February 10th, 2027. We’re still waiting for the trailer to drop, but we should be getting a teaser very soon. ©Disney If you’re looking for more movie news and updates, make sure to follow us at the Disney Food Blog. Welcome. You’re among friends. Disney World Rental Strollers all look alike Here’s what nobody tells you before your first Disney World trip with littles: the stroller isn’t just a stroller. It’s your locker, your snack bar, your nap pod, and the only member of your party who carries things without complaining. So when we find something that makes it work even harder, we get a little excited. And one small, inexpensive item has earned a permanent spot on ours. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. The Tiny Mickey-Shaped Clip Your Stroller Is Missing ©Amazon The 2-Pack Aluminum Mouse Ear Carabiner Clips come in red and black; they’re about 2.4 inches long, and they’re shaped like a certain mouse’s silhouette. Clip them onto your stroller frame, your organizer, or your park bag, and suddenly everything you’ve been carrying in the crook of your elbow has a home. The popcorn bucket. The water bottle. The shoes your toddler removed in line for Peter Pan’s Flight for reasons known only to them. Every Disney mom eventually learns that the stroller basket is a black hole. A clip keeps what you actually need on the outside, where you can grab it. view ON AMAZON The Stroller Upgrade We Actually Own Magnetic Phone Holder While you’re giving your stroller a glow-up, a few more upgrades are worth a look. First up is the liuliuby Magnetic Phone Holder for Strollers. Yes, we own this one, and no, we will not be going back to Disney World without it. It’s a strap with a strong magnet that wraps around your stroller handlebar and holds your MagSafe phone right where you can see it. Why does a phone holder matter so much in Disney World? Because your phone runs the entire trip. It’s your park map, your wait times, your Lightning Lane, and your mobile order. It’s also usually at the bottom of the diaper bag, under a layer of crushed Goldfish. With your phone on the handlebar, you can see the “your order is ready” alert while you walk, and you get a whole hand back. It also works on shopping carts and golf push carts, so it keeps earning its keep once you’re home and sad about it. view ON AMAZON A Minnie Side Pocket for Everything You Actually Need ©Amazon The J.L. Childress Disney Baby Side Sling Stroller Organizer & Caddy in Minnie is a mesh pocket that straps onto the side of your stroller frame. It’s for the bubble wand, the ears nobody will wear after 10:15 AM, and all the snacks you need access to for your toddler who will eat every 45 minutes. It attaches with two adjustable non-slip straps, has a wide stretchy opening you can reach into one-handed, and folds with most strollers. You’ll appreciate that last part at the bus stop at 9:45 PM with a sleeping 30-pound child on your shoulder. view ON AMAZON A Mickey Rain Cover for the Daily Storm ©Amazon Florida rain doesn’t check the forecast. It shows up mid-afternoon like it has its own Lightning Lane, and it leaves you with a soggy stroller seat and a toddler who flatly refuses to sit in it. The J.L. Childress Disney Baby Stroller Rain Cover & Weather Shield in Mickey is a clear cover made to fit most single strollers. It has vents on the sides for airflow and a zippered front, so you can get your kid in and out without taking the whole thing off. Our favorite way to use a rain cover isn’t even while we’re walking. Throw it on before you park the stroller for a ride, and you’ll come back to a dry seat instead of a puddle. Just remember it’s still Florida under there, so peel it back once the rain stops so your little one doesn’t get too toasty. view ON AMAZON A Handle for the Kid Who “Wants to Walk” ©Amazon Every Disney mom knows the cycle. They beg to get out of the stroller, walk for four minutes, drift toward the nearest bubble wand cart, and then ask to be carried. The Tagalong Stroller Accessory in Teal is a handle that hangs off the side of your stroller and gives little walkers their very own spot to hold on. It attaches without tools, and it works on shopping carts too, so it won’t retire when the trip is over. It’s especially handy if you’ve got a baby in the seat and a big kid on foot. And in the crowd pouring out of the park after the fireworks, “hold your handle” is a much easier ask than “hold my hand”. view ON AMAZON We’re always on the hunt for the latest and greatest Disney souvenirs and essentials, so don’t forget to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for more! It’s no secret that a trip to Disney World is — and always has been — an expensive proposition. That can be especially true when choosing which hotel to stay at on property. That’s why ANY time I’m searching for a hotel at Disney World — like, say, for a 2027 stay — there’s one button I always check for available discounts! Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin And these discounts don’t apply just at Disney-owned hotels… There are also discounts available at other hotels on property that Disney doesn’t own. Let’s take a look at the current available discounts! Let’s start with one of our favorite places to stay on Disney property: The Swan & Dolphin Resorts! The Michael Graves-designed hotels are unique amongst Disney World hotels in that they’re located on the company’s property but are not owned by Disney. Instead, the hotels, which opened in 1990, were initially part of a joint venture between Disney, the developer Tishman, insurance company MetLife, and Starwood Hotels and Resorts, and are currently owned and operated by Marriott’s Sheraton Hotels and Resorts brand. Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Given that arrangement, the hotels offer several unique discounts guests need to be aware of, including: Senior Citizen Rate: Guests 62 and older receive special savings. Those looking to reserve can call 1-888-828-8850 and ask for promotional code SENIOR CITIZEN RATE, or when booking online, make sure Promotional Code S9R appears in the Corporate/Promo code box. Of note, a valid teacher or school-issued ID will be required at check-in. First Responders/ Nurse Rate: Nurses, doctors, firefighters, paramedics, and other first responders and medical professionals also receive a special discount. Those looking to reserve can call 1-888-828-8850 and ask for promotional code NURSES RATE, or when booking online, make sure Promotional Code Y7N appears in the Corporate/Promo code box. A valid ID will be required at check-in. Walt Disney World Swan Hotel Law Enforcement, Military Personnel, Government Employee Rate: Qualified law enforcement, active government employees, and military personnel are eligible for savings up to 25% off our regular rates at the time of booking. Those looking to reserve can call 1-888-828-8850 and ask for promotional code GOVERNMENT RATE, or when booking online, make sure Promotional Code GOV appears in the Corporate/Promo code box. A valid ID will be required at check-in. AAA/CAA Members Rate: AAA and CAA members can save up to 25% off of available rates. Those looking to reserve can call 1-888-828-8850 and ask for promotional code AAA RATE, or when booking online, make sure Promotional Code AAA appears in the Corporate/Promo code box. A valid AAA or CAA card will be required at check-in. Disney Passholder Rate: Disney Annual Passholders receive preferred savings of up to 30% off available rates. Those looking to reserve can call 1-888-828-8850 and ask for promotional code ANNUAL PASSHOLDER RATE, or when booking online, make sure Promotional Code QWH appears in the Corporate/Promo code box. Valid/current Disney Annual Pass will be required at check-in. In addition, Annual Passholders can also receive a $50 Resort Credit! Those looking to reserve can call 1-888-828-8850 and ask for promotional code $50 RESORT CREDIT PROMO, or when booking online, make sure Promotional Code E6469 appears in the Corporate/Promo code box. A valid Florida Resident ID will be required at check-in to receive this offer. Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Of course, discounts at Disney World hotels move beyond the Swan & Dolphin. In fact, the company is currently offering a litany of savings for 2027 bookings throughout the first half of next year. Disney’s Contemporary Resort First off, Disney is offering guests the ability to save up to 25% on select rooms for stays on select nights from January 3rd to April 29th, 2027. The company is also offering savings of $250 per night on select 4-night, 4-day (or longer) Walt Disney Travel Company room-and-ticket packages for stays on select nights from January 3rd to July 28th, 2027. There’s something extra special about eating Thanksgiving dinner in Disney World, but there’s one part of it that we can’t get over — the CROWDS. Homecomin’ in Disney Springs Many Disney World restaurants have special Thanksgiving menus that they offer for those visiting to celebrate the holiday, but the sheer amount of crowds you’ll find in the parks during that week. That makes grabbing dining reservations pretty tricky for most spots, but what if we told you that there will be a way to grab a truly delicious meal TO GO, and eat it back in your hotel room away from said crowds? Yep, it’s true, and we’re already in heaven. The best part? You don’t even need a park ticket to take advantage of this meal deal, because it can be found at Chef Art Smith’s Homcomin’ in Disney Springs. This is one of our favorite spots in the shopping and dining district, and we know a lot of you feel the same, considering reservations can be hard to snag. The restaurant just announced that this Thanksgiving, they’ll be offering a Take-Home Thanksgiving Dinner-for-Four that can be picked up on November 24th or 25th! It gets better — you don’t even have to get out of your CAR to pick up your meal! No matter which day you pick up, Homecomin’ will meet you in the Disney Springs Mango Lot with your order for extra easy pickup. Included in the meal will be: Smoked White Meat Turkey with Gravy Andouille Sausage Cornbread Stuffing Homemade Cranberry Sauce Whipped Mashed Potatoes Southern Green Beans Cheddar Drop Biscuits with Fig Jam 4 Slices of Hummingbird Cake Hummingbird Cake Now, the cost is a bit expensive at first glance, but once you realize just how much you’re getting for four people, it doesn’t seem too bad. The whole meal will cost you $223.65, no matter which day you’re picking up. Now, it’s important to note that this meal is set in stone when it comes to the menu, so you won’t be able to substitute or trade things out. You’ll pay in full when you order, so when you actually go to pick up, you’ll just need to park in the Mango Lot at your designated time, and you’ll be ready to go! Order Your Meal Here! Have you felt the shift in the force at Disneyland and Disney World? Galaxy’s Edge is arguably the most immersive experience you’ll get at the Disney Parks. The sights and sounds, the attractions, and the characters all make you feel like you’re in a Star Wars movie. On top of that, you can actually build a lightsaber and become a Jedi. Lighting up the night with lightsabers Speaking of which, Disney just dropped new lightsaber chassis and blade enhancements for Savi’s Workshop at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disneyland Park, with some unique effects and upgrades. When visiting Galaxy’s Edge, you can check out Savi’s Workshop, where guests can fulfill their dream of building a custom lightsaber. Some new stuff has arrived at the workshop in both Disneyland and Disney World. We’re talking new features for what the lightsaber can do and how it looks. Savi’s Workshop Disney says it has enhanced each lightsaber chassis and blade, no matter the hilt theme. The brand-new features include a thermal cutting effect, a spinning effect, and deflection effects. On top of that, the lightsabers will now have upgraded audio quality and smoother blade activation. Gatherer in Savi’s Workshop There’s one more new feature to talk about, and it’s the color-change effect. Disney says that pairing a lightsaber with special “cracked” kyber crystals will unlock it with a quick flick of the wrist. The new effect is supposed to display the battle inside the saber between the light side and the dark side. Building a lightsaber! Disney also added a new white and gold Protection and Defense hilt to the lineup. Disney describes the theme as a reflection of “a time when the Order stood as a symbol of peace and hope across the galaxy.” The design of the white and gold is stunning, and we could see Star Wars fans who love the era of the High Republic wanting to get their hands on this hilt. Lightsabers at Savi’s Workshop! All the new effects and the new hilt are available right now, so book today! We’ve already tried more than 20 new Disney World snacks this month and found some MAJOR winners! Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Spring Rolls We’re only a few weeks into October, and we’ve already tried 24 new snacks around the Disney World parks and hotels (and counting!). It’s been a great month for Disney World eats so far, and we’ve found LOTS of items we’d definitely go back for another time. And in a crowded field full of great choices, we’re ready to give a shoutout to our favorite new snack of the month…at least, so far! Disney World has been on a ROLL with releasing new eats this month. We’ve already tried 24 new snacks in October, and we still have half the month to go! Churro Overdrive We’ve noticed some definite trends as we’ve been tasting our way through the new additions, from alllllll of the churros to new versions of popular treats. And we’re happy to report that another common trend is that we’d happily go back for seconds (and thirds, and fourths…) for TONS of them! Fall Ice Cream Cookie Dough Sandwich Seriously, there have been so many winners in this month’s new snack additions! It was tough for us to nail down our favorite of the bunch with so many great choices to pick from, so we have to call out some honorable mentions of snacks that justttt missed the top spot. Charcuterie Board First up, the Maleficent Funnel Cake at Epic Eats is both delicious AND Instagram-worthy! It’s made with powdered sugar, ube-and-matcha icing, vanilla soft-serve, and chocolate horns. We loved the unique blend of flavors, and even though we actually could have done without the ice cream on top, we’d absolutely still grab this one again. Maleficent Funnel Cake Another sweet treat we plan to circle back for more of is the Candy Corn Cake Pop at Flame Tree Barbecue. It’s a spiced cheesecake with apple butter swirl and brown butter graham crackers, dipped in white chocolate. The flavors in this one were so rich, bold, and layered — it’s a far cry from the “basic” label some people might associate with candy corn! If you love fall flavors, you gotta give this one a try. Candy Corn Cake Pop On the savory side, another honorable mention goes to the Elote Dip from Outer Rim at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. The chips it’s served with were incredible and held up for even bigger dips. Oh, and the dip itself… if you love all things corn like us, it’s a must-try! It’s creamy and packed with flavor from the corn, red onion, and herbs. Elote Dip Okay, now that we’ve celebrated our runners-up, it’s time for the moment you’ve all been waiting for. Our FAVORITE new Disney World snack we’ve tried so far this month is the new Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Spring Roll from the Spring Roll Cart in Magic Kingdom! Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Spring Rolls This is a much-needed GREAT grab-and-go breakfast option for Magic Kingdom. These little beauties are super crispy and filled with fluffy eggs, cheese, and big chunks of bacon you can actually taste. There’s a surprising amount of egg inside, and the salsa that’s served on the side punches up the flavor with a bit of acidity. LOTS of filling An order comes with two spring rolls for $9.79. They might not be filling enough as a stand-alone breakfast for someone who prefers to start the day with a super hearty meal, but they make a great grab-and-go option for either a lighter breakfast or a snack to hold you over until you get a full meal. Breakfast Spring Rolls Congratulations, Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Spring Rolls, now take your victory lap! Of course, we’ll be back for MORE new snacks around Disney World as they debut, so stick with DFB for our latest reviews! Which of These Viral Disney Snacks Is Actually Good? Not every Disney change comes with major announcements and tons of social media posts. Sometimes, it’s a quiet permit submission that hints at what’s happening behind the scenes. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Disney filed two permits for work around Disney World, and we’re pretty excited to see one of the changes come through. Disney World submitted a permit to “provide labor, material, and/or electrical for construction” at Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets. ©Disney They also recently announced a holiday overlay for the ride called Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets: Obligatory Holiday Overlay. The overlay runs from November 4th to January 6th, with festival music on the ride and around the queue. It’s all for a holiday concert that only the Electric Mayhem could deliver. ©Disney Dr. Teeth and the rest of the band are deep in rehearsal for their holiday spectacular, and while they practice, some Muppet friends stop by the studio to offer a helping hand…or try to. Rehearsals might not be going quite as expected, and they still have to make it to their concert! It’s Scooter! We have a feeling that this new permit is for the holiday changes! While it’s not confirmed, the timeline matches up since it’s changing in only a few weeks and will require additional labor to get it done. Ready to rock! The second permit is for Earl of Sandwich at Disney Springs to install new signage. Earl of Sandwich There are currently no announced closures or refurbishments, so this might just be a quick change. We see signage installations pop up pretty frequently, and they don’t always involve major changes, but it’s good to keep an eye out for anything that might affect your meal. We track all Disney World changes, so keep following DFB for more! According to KTLA 5, police are searching for a man after two suspicious items were left near the bus roundabout leading to Disneyland on October 12th. Disneyland Officers found two satchel-style bags sitting on a dolly with wires sticking out of them. One nylon bag was duct-taped shut, with what appeared to be sharp objects sticking out. The packages were reported around 9:30 PM near a fence at the Disneyland east entrance roundabout, according to Anaheim Police Department Sgt. Anderson. Disneyland Entrance The roundabout was blocked off while an explosives team and bomb-sniffing dogs were at the scene. The team found the satchel contained marbles, and the nylon bag held several miscellaneous items, including Disney-branded crowns and other objects with pointed edges. At 11:45 PM, investigators determined there was no threat, but they believe the items were intentionally placed to appear suspicious. Police are searching for the man who left the packages and are using surveillance video and witness accounts to identify him. Police have not identified the man, and they have not released any images. Disneyland This is ongoing, and we will update as more information is shared with the public. Keep following DFB for more. We know, we know, we will often tell you that a $22 slice of cake from The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers on Disney’s BoardWalk is 100% worth it, and we’ve enjoyed several meals at the restaurant, too. This place was BUILT for special occasions, given the high prices. But now, the Cake Bake Shop also has a Happy Hour! Cake Bake Cake Shake of the Day Monday through Thursday, from 2-5 PM, you can pop into The Cake Bake Shop for special cocktails, wines, small bites, and a specialty dessert…at a special price. Well, we recently dropped by The Cake Bake Shop to check out the Happy Hour offerings, and we’re here with a review! Here, Happy Hour is called Cake Bake Social and features a menu with two savory bites, as well as a special dessert and signature cocktails. We started with the Pommes Frites with Signature Sauces for $11. First up, you get a pretty stacked plate of fries, and these are not your typical Disney fries. These have a nice salt and pepper flavor and are nice and crispy. That’s a lot of fries! You can choose three sauces from the following: garlic aioli, lemon aioli, basil aioli, ketchup, dijonnaise, ranch, remoulade, and pimento sauce. We went with the basil aioli, lemon aioli, and garlic aioli. The basil aioli was almost like a pesto with a strong basil flavor. The lemony aioli had a nice lemony aftertaste. The garlic aioli was creamy and salty with that garlic flavor. All three were great for dipping the fries in. Sauces We also ordered the Pimento Sliders for $16, made with certified Angus beef patties on a mini brioche bun with pimento cheese, pickles, and pimento cheese dipping sauce. The burger itself was cooked medium to medium-rare and had some pink on the inside, so keep that in mind. The pimento cheese adds a salty and creamy element, but it was hard to taste on the burger. Pimento Sliders However, the pimento cheese dip adds more flavor if you dip your sliders into it (and yes, you MUST do this). The pickles are crunchy and add some acidity, which balances out the heavier pimento cheese. Inside For something sweet, we ordered the Cake Bake Cake Shake of the Day for $10. When we ordered it, the shake of the day was Gluten-Free Chocolate Popcorn. It’s VERY chocolatey and has cake pieces mixed well into the shake. The caramel sauce on top adds a bit of sweetness, while the popcorn bits are like crunchy pieces of Cracker Jacks. This is a great option if you want to stay away from gluten, but it’s also amazing for chocolate lovers. Gluten-Free Chocolate Popcorn Overall, we thought the Cake Bake Social is a great way to get some snacks, including a sweet treat, at a bit of a lower price than you might expect from this restaurant at other times of the day. So if you’ve been wanting to try the restaurant out, this might be a great option. We’ll keep an eye out for more new foodie things in Disney World, so stay tuned to DFB for more. STOP RIGHT THERE, Monster fans, Disney just dropped some concept art for one of the major attractions coming to Hollywood Studios’ Monstropolis land when it opens next year! Monstropolis Concept Art The new land, which is being built in the space formerly occupied by the Muppet Courtyard (and expanding into some formerly backstage space), is set to recreate the city from Pixar’s iconic 2001 film Monsters, Inc. We’ve been tracking construction on the project closely since before construction began, and now Disney has given us a NEW piece of concept art to obsess over. Let’s take a look! The latest piece of updated art features the Glob Theater, which will host the “Welcome to Monstropolis” show, a presentation hosted by Mike and Sulley that will “introduce humans to Monstropolis.” According to Chris Beatty, Vice President of Walt Disney Imagineering, “Sulley has been working on a small, homespun show, but Mike – ever the showman – has a few surprises up his sleeve that he thinks will bring down the house.” Of note, elements of the theater, specifically the boxes, look very similar to those that were present in the theater’s former occupant: The legendary Muppet*Vision 3D. ©Disney In addition to the concept art from within the show, Disney also released art showing a preshow room that’s dressed like a concession area, complete with a snack stand. ©Disney Of note, Disney actually released two different pieces of art representing this room. ©Disney While the two look mostly the same, you can see some differences in the signage… ©Disney … and the positioning of the posters. Can you spot the differences? ©Disney In addition, Disney also released a closer look at the outside of the building, which still looks similar to the classic Muppet*Vision 3D. ©Disney You can see Mike and Sulley greeting what appear to be adoring fans on a red carpet… ©Disney … while the building is adorned with Monsters Incorporated banners. ©Disney That concept fits the show into the land’s overall “H.U.M.A.N. Day” theme. Short for “Humans Understand Monsters Are Nice,” Disney explains that through this event, which is “designed to introduce humans to life inside Monstropolis while helping monsters discover that humans are not so frightening after all,” humans are invited to “explore the city, meet its citizens, taste unique cuisine, and step into the everyday world of monsters in a totally new way.” ©Disney The “Welcome to Monstropolis” show is scheduled to open with Monstropolis in 2027. Other opening day elements of the land are scheduled to include Archie’s Scare Pig Pizza quick-service eatery, the Monsters University Alumni Club, the Scareporium store, and a recreation of Harryhausen’s Restaurant, with a gigantic Animatronic monster chef. ©Disney However, one major element of the land will be missing from the land on opening day, as the highly anticipated, central e-ticket door coaster won’t be opening with Monstropolis. Disney confirmed that the long-awaited coaster, which will take guests inside the Monsters, Inc. factory to ride through the film’s climactic door chase and see them lifted 40 feet into the air in four seconds, won’t be ready in time for the land’s debut. ©Disney Disney just dropped some NEW concept art giving us a closer look at the Glob Theater and its “Welcome to Monstropolis” show, which is scheduled to open next year. November is going to be a huge month for Disney fans, and you should start loading up your calendar NOW. Cinderella Castle In the past few days, it’s like Disney has announced important date after important date, and our November schedule is filling up rather rapidly. If you want to be in the know but need someone to keep track of all those recent announcements for you…don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! Now, there are plenty of things happening in November for Disney fans that we’ve known about for months, but we’re here to chat about those that were newly-announced. Starting off the list, we got updates recently about many of Disney World’s holiday ride overlays! The first one coming? Jingle Cruise will be open at Magic Kingdom starting on November 3rd. This is the ridiculously punny and enchantingly festive overlay at Jungle Cruise. Jingle Cruise Then, on November 4th, both Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets and Alien Swirling Saucers start their holiday overlays. These two rides will have special soundtracks for the season, and you’ll have to ride multiple times if you want to hear ALL the festive tunes. Click Here to See the Song Lists for These Two Overlays! ©Disney Then, yet ANOTHER ride gets an overlay starting on November 25th. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is getting its Holiday Remix. This is the second time we’ve seen this ride have a holiday overlay, but the first time a few years ago, there was only one song option. This year, there are three: “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” by Andy Williams “Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24” by Trans-Siberian Orchestra 8 “Christmas Wrapping” by The Waitresses ©Disney And in non-ride news, Disney just announced that November 17th will be its fourth quarter and fiscal full year 2026 earnings call. You can tune in starting at 8:30 AM ET or 5:30 AM PT to hear the Disney execs discuss the results, and the financial report will be released before the call begins. We watch all the earnings calls not only to get the latest business information from The Walt Disney Company, but also, because Disney often makes forward-looking announcements during the call. We’ll recap all the news for you, so be sure to check out our blog on that Tuesday! ©Disney | Disney CEO Josh D’Amaro Those are the dates that were announced in the past few days, but of course, that’s not ALL that’s happening in November! You can prepare for the opening nights of Jollywood Nights at Hollywood Studios on November 7th and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom on November 8th. Then, the holidays officially kick off in Disney World on November 13th. Magic Kingdom during the holidays The EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival ends on November 21st, to be replaced by the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays on November 27th. With that festival and all the holiday treats across the parks and resorts, we’re going to be doing a LOT of eating in the month of November. Drinking Around the World has long been one of the most popular aspects of EPCOT’s World Showcase, with guests enjoying beverages from all over the world! However, as anyone who is old enough to imbibe knows, not every type of alcohol works for every person. Some opt for a glass of wine, others beer and ONLY beer, while still others seek out fruity cocktails and frozen concoctions. You need to try this! However, if you find yourself a very specific type of drinker, fear not! We’ve assembled the best spots around the World Showcase to find various types of drinks for you to enjoy! Margaritas Let’s begin in Mexico — as every trip to the World Showcase should (don’t come at me) — with margaritas! As many of you are probably already yelling at your computer, the pavilion is home to one of the best drink spots in the whole park: La Cava del Tequila! La Cava del Tequila One of our favorite margaritas on the menu is the $21 La Cava Avocado. Made with Tromba Blanco Tequila, melon liqueur, fresh avocado, lime juice, and served frozen with a hibiscus salt rim, this margarita is surprisingly creamy and refreshing. Avocado Margarita In addition, you can find other options like the Blood Orange ($19, Pasote blanco tequila, blood orange, LeJay black currant liqueur, Ilegal reposado mezcal, Tajín chile-lime powder rim) and The Cucumber ($19, Tromba blanco tequila, fresh cucumber and lime juice, Abasolo corn whiskey, Tajín chile-lime powder rim) on the menu. La Cava del Tequila A quick note: You can grab versions of The Cucumber ($18, Tromba blanco tequila, fresh cucumber and lime juice, orange liqueur, Abasolo corn whiskey, agave, Rhubarb bitters, Tajín chile-lime powder rim) and Blood Orange ($18.50, Centinela blanco tequila, sweet-tart mix of blood orange, gin, LeJay black currant liqueur, Contraluz reposado cristalino mezcal, Tajín chile-lime powder rim) outside the Mexico Pavilion’s pyramid at Choza de Margarita. This can be advantageous, as lines are generally shorter. However, do note that the ingredients are slightly different. Choza de Margarita In addition, you can find seasonal margarita options, like the La Ofrenda, available in the fall of 2026. La Ofrenda Margarita Wine Those who prefer a class of wine have numerous options around World Showcase. Italy’s Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar offers a large selection of red wines… ©Disney … white wines… ©Disney … and several wine flights! ©Disney Over in France, Les Vins des Chefs de France also offers a large selection including regular, regional… ©Disney … and premium wines. ©Disney In addition, if you’re visiting during EPCOT’s Food & Wine Festival, multiple festival booths feature wine offerings, including at The Alps, Australia, Greece, and The Wedge at the 2026 Festival. The wine flight! Beer If you’re the kind of person who prefers beer and beer alone, there are PLENTY of options at EPCOT to appeal to every taste. Some of our go-to favorites include The Pink Grapefruit Hefeweizen available at various locations in Germany… Schöfferhofer Lemon Zest Hefeweizen from the Germany Festival Booth … and Guinness on tap at the Rose & Crown. Guinness Slightly more adventurous beer drinkers can also find unique options like the Snake Bite (a 50/50 mix of beer and hard cider), also at the Rose & Crown… Snake Bite from the UK … and Frozen Beer found in the Japan Pavilion. Kirin Frozen Similar to wine, several Food & Wine booths also offer beer flights during festival season, including Belgium, Brew-Wing Lab, Festival Favorites, Germany, and Hops & Barley in 2026. Beer flight Whiskey Drinks Those of you with Whiskey as your beverage of choice can find several options, including the Ottawa Apple ($16.50, Crown Royal Whisky, maple, apple infusion, and cranberry juice) in Canada… ©Delish … and the Tennessee Lemonade ($16.50, Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey with Minute Maid Premium Lemonade and peach) at The American Adventure’s Regal Eagle Smokehouse. Tennessee Lemonade Drinks for People Who Hate the Taste of Alcohol Okay, truth be told, this is MY go-to section for drinks at EPCOT. Let’s begin with 3 of my favorites from Refreshment Outpost. Each of these refreshing beverages sells for $16.50: Mango Rum Freeze: Mango Purée and STARR African Rum Frozen Brown Elephant: Frozen Coca-Cola and Amarula Cream Liqueur Outpost Lemonade: Frozen Minute Maid Lemonade and Absolut Vodka The Brown Elephant If you’re looking for something with a bit more kick, you can find Viking Coffee at Norway’s Kringla Bakeri. The $16.50 beverage includes Baileys Original Irish Cream Liqueur and Kamora Coffee Liqueur. Viking Coffee Over at Japan’s Kabuki Cafe, you can find $13 alcoholic shaved ice Sake Slushies in three flavors: Blood Orange, Coconut Pineapple, and Blackberry. Kabuki Cafe For a full map of the drinks you should grab around the world in EPCOT, be sure to download our map below!
