The Fourth of July might have been yesterday, but there is still lots of Patriotic fun happening around the Disney World parks today. Mickey and Pals on the 4th of July One of the highlights of the Fourth of July can be found over in EPCOT, where Mickey and Friends meet guests in their patriotic outfits. To say this is a popular meet-and-greet is a big understatement, considering this line was almost FIVE HOURS long yesterday! When we made our way over to the American Adventure Pavilion yesterday to snag some pictures with our favorite gang in their fun outfits, we were shocked to see that the line was full of switchbacks and stretching throughout the pavilion. It’s safe to say lots of folks were looking to grab some festive photos. After speaking with a Cast Member, we learned that the line had been cut off an hour earlier (we spoke to them at 3:30, meaning the cutoff was around 2:30) because it had reached its five-hour capacity and they could not accommodate any more guests. This line was SO long In fact, for the guests in line, the wait could have been even longer because while we were there, the characters were pulled backstage due to inclement weather, with no timeline provided for when or if they would be able to return. The Cast Members informed guests that they were permitted to remain in line to see if the characters returned. Given the approaching inclement weather, we thought some guests might leave the line, but while we were there, the line appeared to stay the same. LONG line! If you missed your chance to spot these characters over the past few days, you still have one more chance! They will be meeting again today, July 5th, one last time until next year’s Fourth of July festivities. Today, head over to the American Adventure Pavilion to catch Mickey and two of his friends in their Fourth of July best. You could meet any combination of Pluto, Goofy, and Chip ‘n’ Dale alongside Mickey. If this meet-and-greet is important to you, we suggest getting over there as early as possible! The line will get long, and the only way to guarantee you get to meet these characters is by securing a spot in line early. How long would you wait to meet these characters in their fun 4th of July outfits? Today, you can also catch the final showings of “Disney’s Celebrate America! — A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky” firework show at 9 PM in Magic Kingdom. Then, over in EPCOT, you can see the final show of “Heartbeat of Freedom,” which is a five-minute patriotic finale that starts at 9:15 PM, directly after Luminous: The Symphony of Us. 4th of July in Magic Kingdom We always make sure to keep you informed of any special offerings or news around Disney World, so stay tuned with Disney Food Blog so you never miss anything! HUGE changes are coming to the Carousel of Progress at Magic Kingdom, and we’re here on the last day of the current iteration of the ride as we know it. Carousel of Progress We already knew that a Walt Disney Animatronic would be coming to the ride, but Disney shared that even more updates are on the way for this iconic attraction. Each scene will be completely overhauled to feature new decades — and we’ll even get a glimpse into the future! The ride is set to close on July 6th so Disney can make way for these changes, and we’re celebrating the last day of the original Carousel of Progress. Magic Kingdom’s Carousel of Progress closes on July 6th and is expected to reopen sometime in 2027, as Disney works to completely overhaul the ride. We stopped by on the last day of the current version of the ride’s operation, and we weren’t the only ones! ©Disney While this ride normally has a low wait time, around five minutes, since the theater can hold so many people in each of the four sections of seating, we were curious to see if today would be the same. Right around 9:30 AM, just half an hour after the park opened, the ride was indeed sitting at just a five-minute wait. ©Disney Looking at crowds near the ride, there was a small crowd that had headed straight to the attraction at rope drop, but otherwise, there hasn’t been enough of a crowd yet to completely fill each theater. Now, it’s very possible people are rope dropping other attractions that often get higher waits, since even on its final day, Carousel of Progress’ larger capacity will likely keep it from getting too large of a wait throughout the day. We’ll be keeping an eye on it all day to see how the crowds ebb and flow. Carousel of Progress crowds One of Disney’s main goals for this update is to keep the attraction relatable for audiences of today by featuring eras that people have personal connections to. Imagineering has been revisiting the music, fashion, technology, and experiences that helped shape history as it’s reflected in this family’s story. Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress Act 1 will feature the 1960s, which is when the Carousel of Progress first opened at the 1964 World’s Fair. The story looks back about 60 years, and now this new scene will mirror that idea — starting 60 years back from today, in the 1960s. ©Disney Act 2 takes us to the 1980s, where bigger is better. On Halloween night in 1985, Sarah will take center stage as she shares all about how the new appliances and gadgets are making life easier for the whole family. John is out on the porch handing out candy to trick-or-treaters, and poor Uncle Orville will still be in the bathroom with “no privacy at all around here!” Carousel of Progress In Act 3, we’ll travel to the new millennium as the 1990s draw to a close. The family is getting ready to ring in the new year on New Year’s Eve 1999. The Internet is bringing John, Sarah, Jimmy, and Patty closer together than ever before. Of course, Grandpa has already nodded off, so Grandma changes the TV over to wrestling when no one is looking. The Carousel! And finally, Act 4 features the possible future. The family is seen one last time in the distant future, in a home that’s out of this world. The off-planet scene features a helpful robot assisting with everyday tasks, along with space travel, and imagines a future where extraordinary innovation has become part of life. What will the future bring? Disney shared that Carousel of Progress is expected to reopen sometime in 2027, and we can’t wait! These are some MAJOR changes, and we’re hopeful that the ride will still reflect everything we loved about the original. A major change is coming to one of Disney World’s oldest attractions TOMORROW. Carousel of Progress Walt Diseny’s Carousel of Progress – – which has been operating in one form or another since its debut at the 1964 New York World’s Fair, meaning it actually predates Disney World by over a decade – – is set to close for a major refurbishment that will shift nearly everything about the 60+ year old attraction. In an attempt to keep the show “relatable for today’s audiences,” the whole show is being restructured. The show will now feature a Walt Disney animatronic in the pre-show, followed by new acts based on the 1960s (itself harkening back to the decade the show originally debuted), the 1980s, the 1999-turn of the millennium, and a “possible future” that will imagine a time where “extraordinary innovation has become part of life and proves that a beautiful tomorrow is just a dream away.” The Carousel of Progress will close on July 6th for its transformation, with an estimated reopening in 2027. ©Disney This won’t be the first time the Carousel of Progress has changed. The attraction has been intermittently updated over the years, with the most recent major upgrade coming in 1994. While the show has its fans, me VERY much included, it is fair to say that the show – – especially the ending sequence that still name-drops the “upcoming” turn of the millennium – – has been feeling a bit stale for a couple of decades. The resident flying ace is about to be grounded. Despite that, reactions to the renovation details have been mixed so far. Some have been negative, with guests mourning the loss of most of the Walt-designed original concept) to positive, with some excited that modern audiences have their own time periods to look back on and deserve their own “Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow” to look forward to. Carousel of Progress Personally, after thinking over my own reservations on the change, I do believe that the attraction’s message of a hopeful future is one that needs to be relatable to modern audiences, and right now it’s not. The 1960s are as far away from the 2020s as the early 1900s were from the 1960s when the original debuted. ©Disney Starting tomorrow, the Carousel of Progress is set to begin a massive transformation that will modernize the attraction for tomorrow, though if it turns out to be “great, big, and beautiful,” remains to be seen. Stay tuned to DFB for more on this project. 6 Magic Kingdom Secrets Disney Doesn’t Want You to Know Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! Click here to Subscribe! It’s been a BIG year for Magic Kingdom. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad reopened as new and improved versions of themselves. Cinderella Castle got repainted. Now another big change is coming to the park! It’s Carousel of Progress’ final day before refurbishment! The Carousel of Progress is getting a massive makeover, which means we need to say goodbye to the version we know and love. We’re here on the last day of operation for the current Carousel of Progress, and we’re not the only ones who came out to say farewell. While crowds at the Transportation and Ticket Center this morning for rope drop weren’t any more intense than normal, we were super curious to see how many people lined up for rope drop would actually head for Tomorrowland. Rope drop crowds outside the gates were a little backed up, but nothing too wild, which was a little surprising. Not only because of today being as important as it is for Carousel of Progress, but also because it’s Fourth of July weekend! Rope Drop Crowds Once people were allowed into the park and able to line up near the lands they planned to get in first thing, there was a small crowd for Tomorrowland as a whole, but it wasn’t shoulder to shoulder, which was a nice reprieve. Lines for Tomorrowland Right around 9:30 AM, after the park had officially been open for about half an hour, Carousel of Progress was only sitting at a five-minute wait, which is usually its regular wait time. There was a small crowd of people who headed straight for the ride when it opened, but otherwise, we’ve noticed so far that the theaters haven’t been filled up for each showing. That’s partly due to just how large the capacity for this ride is. Carousel of Progress crowds Today (July 5th) is the final day of operation for the original version of Carousel of Progress. The ride will reopen in 2027 as a completely NEW version. The new version will feature a new timeline, including the 1960s, the 1980s, the new millennium, and the potential future. “There’s a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow” will remain the song for the new version, and we’ll be following the same family. The new ride will also feature a Walt Disney animatronic in the very first scene. ©Disney We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all the changes coming to Carousel of Progress. Things are ALWAYS changing in Disney World! Lately, it feels like the parks are entirely new places thanks to updates like Villains Land, Piston Peak, Monsters Inc. Land, and other major changes. Welcome to La Poutinerie Each week, it feels like Disney is constantly dropping new information, details, and more! That’s why we like to do a weekly wrap-up of the biggest news so you don’t miss a single thing. This week was pretty exciting for people who love new stuff in Disney World! This week was an exciting one for Disney World fans! We got new entertainment, new snacks, and we might even get a new menu for a restaurant that sorely needs it. Here’s everything we loved this week. LEVEL99 has arrived Over in Disney Springs, LEVEL99 officially opened to the public! The new entertainment offering has over 60 games, a bar, and a restaurant for guests to indulge in. LEVEL99 is here! We got to check out the new offering ahead of its opening, and we (frankly) fell in love with it. The games are designed for groups of two to six people with varying degrees of difficulty. There are puzzles, brain games, physical challenges and more for you and your group to dive into. Level99 Bar If you want to check out the new offering but you aren’t interested in the games just yet, you can get a free pass to check out the restaurant and bar. This is the 4th LEVEL99 location, but the CEO has confirmed that more are going to be opening across the country. We can’t wait to see where the new locations go and how fans receive the new entertainment option in Disney Springs. EVERYTHING We Learned About LEVEL99 in Disney Springs on Opening Day La Poutinerie has opened! A new snack stand has come to EPCOT! La Poutinerie officially opened in the Canada Pavilion this week, and we tried it all. This new stand has the classic poutine that the Canada pavilion is known for, and the new stand is sponsored by Air Canada. La Poutinerie The new stand is open from 11 AM until 5 PM daily for you savory snackers. There are two different kinds of poutine to try, as well as several drinks to grab. While change is pretty hard, we did seriously enjoy these new bites. You can read our full review below! REVIEW: NEW Snack Stand Is NOW OPEN at EPCOT Quite Restaurant Closure Finally, Disney quietly announced a short-term closure of an infamous restaurant. That’s right, Coral Reef Restaurant in EPCOT is closing in September. The Coral Reef Restaurant is set to temporarily close on September 8th with no reopening date announced. What we do know is that Disney plans on reopening the dining spot later in 2026. Coral Reef Restaurant Disney hasn’t shared why the restaurant is closing. This could be a refurbishment, but it could also be a seasonal closure. Coral Reef actually shifted to a reduced, dinner-only schedule early this year, in January. We’re selfishly hoping this will be quite a big change because this restaurant has become one of Disney’s “worst” over the last few years. Surf and Turf While it’s not terrible, it’s hard to say that it’s a great choice compared to several of the other amazing options in EPCOT. We’re keeping our fingers firmly crossed for a fresh look and a new menu. Disney Quietly Announces EPCOT Restaurant Closure Starting in September We are feeling extra hungry after all of that! It was a busy week (just like any other), and we are so excited for what’s ahead. As always, be sure to keep following DisneyFoodBlog for more Disney news, updates, details, and more. At our recent visit to LEGOLAND Florida, we decided to check out the Shipwreck Restaurant at the Pirate Island Hotel! Shipwreck Restaurant This restaurant offers breakfast and dinner options through a prix-fixe 3-course meal, an all-you-can-eat menu with salad, your choice of one of three skillet options, and dessert! Soft drinks are also included in the meal. So, what did we think? We’re bringing you our FULL review of the Shipwreck Restaurant dinner! What Is the Shipwreck Restaurant? The Shipwreck Restaurant offers a family-style dinner for the whole table with several different options, so everyone is bound to find something they’ll enjoy! The table will get to choose one skillet; however, if there is someone in your party who eats plant-based and the rest of your group does not, they will not make the entire table eat from one skillet. Shipwreck Restaurant Dinner Menu They also allow mixing and matching between skillets in case you’d like to try something from another skillet that’s not currently in the one you selected. Guests will enjoy all-you-can-eat bread, salad, skillets, and dessert for $40 per adult and $19 per child, which is a pretty great deal if you ask us! Shipwreck Restaurant Drink Menu In line with the rest of the hotel, this restaurant is decked out in LEGO Pirate details — decals on the walls, pirate ships, and pirate figures throughout the room. There’s also a small, separate room for younger children to play with LEGOS directly attached to the dining room, so there’s no worry about being bored during this dinner! Look at this decor! The service was also absolutely amazing! Everyone we interacted with was fantastic and made sure we felt comfortable throughout the meal. We spoke with servers, a sous chef, and a manager, and they were all extremely welcoming and perceptive to any questions we had, especially about allergies and food preferences. Shipwreck Restaurant And when it comes to allergies, they took them VERY seriously. Even with just a food preference, the sous chef came directly to our table when we had a food preference, and they even took down our name and room number in case there were any questions or concerns following our meal. We were regularly reminded of what was plant-based and what modifications were made to ensure we knew what was in front of us! Shipwreck Restaurant Speaking of the food, we were pleasantly surprised by the variety and quality of it! We weren’t expecting the food to be as well done as it was, and it’s clear the menu was made with care and quality in mind. Now, enough about that — let’s get into what we ate! Everything We Ate Starting off with the bread service, these rolls were very fluffy and warm and were easy to pull apart. It tasted a bit dry, but the cinnamon butter that came on the side solved that problem quickly! Shipwreck Restaurant Bread Service It was extremely soft and spreadable with a sweet flavor that paired nicely with the rolls. It’s no bread without butter Moving on to the salad, all of the ingredients were fresh and weren’t something you’d find in your typical restaurant salad. This is a mixed green salad with toasted almonds, dried cranberries, fresh tomatoes, fresh apples, red onions, and asiago cheese tossed in a homemade poppy seed dressing. Shipwreck Restaurant Salad The asiago cheese, apples, and dried cranberries gave it a unique flavor that we loved! It was also not overly dressed, so the flavors of the ingredients weren’t overpowered, and the poppy seed dressing added a nice flavor. A vegan option is also available upon request. Shipwreck Restaurant Salad Now we’ve made it to the hearty part — the family-style skillets. We decided to try the Seadog Skillet, which comes with grilled marinated flank steak, herb roasted pork tenderloin, blackened fish, sautéed garlic citrus shrimp, and rotisserie chicken served with wild rice pilaf, mushroom cream sauce, and garlic butter. Each table will also receive mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, and roasted seasonal vegetables with this skillet. Our full spread! Overall, we thought everything was delicious, and there were SO many different things to try. Starting off with the flank steak, it was cut thin and had a good flavor, but it was cooked medium-well, so it was a bit tough. We didn’t get to decide how we’d like our steak cooked — it just comes in one temperature, and because medium-well is more of a crowd-pleasing temperature, that’s how it’s cooked. Although we think it loses some of its flavor because of it. Shipwreck Restaurant Seadog Skillet We received a great cut of pork that we thought was a touch dry, but not overly dry. It was nice and lean with a mild, but pleasant flavor. And the blackened fish really surprised us! We’d go so far as to say that it was one of the best things on this platter! This is a flaky white fish with a robust and aromatic blackened seasoning that wasn’t too strong. Shipwreck Restaurant Seadog Skillet Pork Tenderloin Next up was the garlic citrus shrimp, which we found to be well-cooked and well-prepped! There’s no need to peel the shrimp, but you will need to take the tails off because they are served with them on. And there’s no need to worry about that because the shrimp were so well cooked that the tails slid right off! It’s also served with drawn butter (the kind of butter you’d get with lobster), which made it 10x better! Shipwreck Restaurant Seadog Skillet The rotisserie chicken had a VERY meaty flavor, which just shows that it’s clearly ACTUALLY rotisserie. It had a good texture and was well-cooked, but we found the skin to be a bit stretchy and chewy. Shipwreck Restaurant Seadog Skillet Moving onto the seasonal vegetable, we were brought green beans that were perfectly cooked and had a perfect amount of butter! Shipwreck Restaurant Green Beans It was a little hard to tell because it was wild rice, but we found the wild rice pilaf to be slightly undercooked. We decided to put the mushroom cream sauce on this and some of the other items, and we thought it was a great addition to the meal! It was extremely creamy and had an umami flavor that’s classic, but it pairs nicely with a lot of the stuff on the skillet! Shipwreck Restaurant Wild Rice Pilaf And you can’t go wrong with the mashed potatoes that were served with the skillet — they were super creamy and nicely buttered and combined well with anything on your plate! Shipwreck Restaurant Mashed Potatoes We also found the macaroni and cheese to be a bit basic, but the noodles were ideal, plus there was so much cheese (you can never have enough cheese!) It’s perfect for any macaroni and cheese lover! Shipwreck Restaurant Macaroni and Cheese And finally, we had dessert, where we opted for the Pirate Captain’s Delight. This is a warm chocolate chip cookie skillet served with vanilla bean ice cream, chocolate sauce, caramel sauce, and Heath Bar pieces. We LOVED the toppings! The scoop of ice cream was nice and big and came with the perfect drizzle of sauces and Heath Bar pieces. Shipwreck Restaurant Pirate Captain’s Delight But we did find the cookie to be a little disappointing — warm, but not soft. It was more crumbly than gooey, so it was difficult to get a bite. It had good flavor and would be good as a normal cookie, but the texture wasn’t quite right for a skillet cookie. Shipwreck Restaurant Pirate Captain’s Delight Plant-Based Offerings We also got to try some plant-based offerings — vegan meatloaf, seasoned tofu, vegetable dumplings, and the chocolate fondue. Shipwreck Restaurant Plant-Based Skillet The vegan meatloaf was our favorite plant-based option on the menu — it actually tasted like real meatloaf, just without the meat flavor! We found it to be the most successful plant-based meatloaf we’ve ever tried, even with all of the options at Disney World. We DREAM about coming back here just for this one item! Shipwreck Restaurant Plant-Based Meatloaf The seasoned tofu had an Asian-inspired flavor profile with flavors like sweet chili sauce. It’s served with some seasonal vegetables (in this case, mostly broccoli) and tastes like a reliable dish you’d get from your local Chinese restaurant! The roasted cauliflower was the perfect balance of tender and firm and was seasoned well with a blend of spices. Shipwreck Restaurant Tofu The vegetable dumplings were a close second when it came to our favorite plant-based items! They’re actually very comparable to the ones you’ll find at ‘Ohana at the Polynesian Village Resort in Disney World. Shipwreck Restaurant Vegetable Dumplings And when it came to dessert, we found the chocolate fondue to be OUTSTANDING! We really appreciated being able to get an option like this, especially when it’s been removed from other venues. The flavor of the fruit that came with it paired extremely well with the fondue and marshmallows. Shipwreck Restaurant Chocolate Fondue You really can’t beat a delicious and hearty meal at a budget-friendly cost! This summer is going to be a HOT one in Disney World, which means when it comes to caffeine, we’re going iced coffee all the way. A great summer coffee is here! Sometimes, though, you want something that’s refreshing but is ALSO coffee so you can get that pick-me-up you need. That’s pretty hard to find — at least, it was — but now The Cake Bake Shop on Disney’s BoardWalk has solved all our coffee problems with their new iced coffee flavor that somehow beautifully combines mocha AND blueberry! The new Blueberry White Chocolate Mocha Iced Coffee is now available at the Cake Bake Shop on the bakery side for $9. While that sounds like a lot going on, and we totally get that, because it IS, don’t be fooled. Blueberry White Chocolate Mocha Iced Coffee This is super creamy, and the notes of iced coffee and blueberry are incredibly well-balanced. We didn’t get a lot of white chocolate, and we actually think that’s a very good thing, since white chocolate can often be overpowering. Instead, we got a nice, even vanilla note, which we felt blended beautifully. So good! The taste of this makes us think of blueberry muffins in the best way, since the blueberry comes through in every sip but isn’t overpowering. This is a great afternoon pick-me-up when you’re craving something more than just plain iced coffee, and we can’t recommend it enough, even though it is a little more on the expensive side. The whipped cream on top is a fun addition too Looking for more recent reviews? Check out our posts below! More Recent Reviews! When it comes to dining at Disney World, you’ve got a TON of options. Want something quick and easy? You’ve got it. Something middle-of-the-road and comforting? Yep, that too. And if you’re looking for something upscale and luxurious, you can find that as well. The BOATHOUSE We recently stopped by The BOATHOUSE at Disney Springs to see what was cookin’, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is it worth a stop on your next trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth? Find out here! Atmosphere The BOATHOUSE is a signature restaurant in Disney Springs with a culinary focus on steaks, chops, and seafood. As you might have guessed, it’s themed after boating, and that’s reflected in the overall atmosphere and decor. Inside The BOATHOUSE This restaurant offers seating for 600 (400 inside and 200 outside), so there’s not a bad seat in the house. And don’t miss the chance to stroll around the dock and check out the beautiful vintage “dream boats” from the 30s, 40s, and 50s! The BOATHOUSE indoor seating Another highlight of this unique restaurant is the Amphicars. These cars that “drive” on water are just part of the entertainment at The BOATHOUSE, and you can find booking information for the experience here. The BOATHOUSE Amphicars But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu While there are certainly opportunities to splurge on dishes like Maine Lobster Tail Oscar or one of the Gibsons Heritage Steaks, the spot also offers a more casual outdoor menu and sandwiches such as their Gibsons “Sandwich King” Award-Winning Burger. BOATHOUSE menu And, the raw bar serves three to five varieties of oysters in addition to Anastasia Gold caviar sourced from a local farm in Pierson, Florida. Oyster menu And now, onto the main event — the food! Drinks To drink, we picked up the iconic Duck Duck Razz for $17. This is made with Skyy Raspberry Vodka, blue curacao, lemon juice, and simple syrup — and it’s one of our favorite drinks at Disney World! Duck Duck Razz So, what did we grab to eat?! Eats We picked up the Duo Dips & Chips for $13.50. This comes with tortilla chips, pimento chips, and charred tomato salsa. The chips have a nice, crisp crunch and taste freshly prepared. There’s a light seasoning of salt and pepper that add flavor before being dipped. The pepper adds just a little bit of spice that works well with both dips. Duo Dips & Chips The pimento cheese dip is rich, creamy, and cheese-focused. It’s a blend that seems to be multiple cheeses (maybe shredded mozzarella or another lighter cheese). There are red pepper pieces that add color, a slight crunch, and a subtle pepper flavor, though there’s not much of a kick. Pimento Cheese The salsa has a brief kick at the start of each bite before you’re hit with a fresh tomato flavor. The strongest flavor in this is definitely tomato with a slightly acidic aftertaste. It isn’t overloaded with spices or seasoning, but just enough to still get a big flavor from the tomato. The texture is smooth enough to coat the chips, and they don’t soften after holding the dips, either. Charred Tomato Salsa For our main entrée, we had the “Yacht Club” Sandwich, which is $23. This sandwich is made with roasted turkey breast, cucumber, bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado, honey chipotle mayo, and Swiss cheese served on multigrain bread. It comes with kettle chips on the side, but you can swap those out for an additional cost. Yacht Club Sandwich This is available in a half or full portion, and our waitress strongly recommended the half due to its size — which we’re happy about, because this was MASSIVE. This is a multi-layered sandwich that’s tall and thick due to how much is packed inside. The roasted turkey is the most prominent flavor here. It’s thick, savory, and freshly roasted instead of something like lunch meat. The vegetables add a freshness and crunch in each bite that blends in. The avocado added a soft texture and creaminess that also blended well. The chipotle honey mayo had a faint, slightly sweet flavor with a mild kick that faded quickly. HUGE sandwich We also tried an order of the Truffle Fries for $13.50. These are served with ketchup and lemon aioli and are COVERED in seasonings. The fries are freshly cooked with a mixture of crispy edges and softer insides. Most of them were pretty floppy and didn’t hold much shape. The potato flavor inside was so fresh that it tasted like steak fries despite them being thin-cut. Truffle Fries These are topped with truffle oil and Parmesan, which add a light saltiness to the fries. The truffle oil adds an earthy taste that’s noticeable in most bites. The STAR of this is the lemon aioli. It’s tangy, citrusy, with a subtle garlic flavor that enhances the other flavors in the fries. The ketchup gives a sweeter, more familiar dipping option, but doesn’t make as much of a difference as the aioli. SO much seasoning Finally, we rounded out our meal with the Key Lime Pie, available for $15. This is made with key lime, vanilla bean chantilly cream, and raspberries, and IT IS HUGE. This is an oversized pie slice that’s easily shareable between 2-4 people! The top layer is light, airy whipped topping that covers the pie and is topped with key lime zest. Key Lime Pie This layer is very creamy and fluffy compared to the layer underneath of key lime custard. This layer is more citrus-focused, sweet, tangy, and thick. It leans closer to a mousse than a dense custard. Although both the custard and whipped layers are about the same size, the citrus flavor is the strongest in the slice, and the whipped layer is there to enhance the layer underneath. There’s also a homemade graham cracker crust that breaks apart easily and gives a warm, spiced crunch. It’s relatively thin, so it’s not in every bite. This was HUGE So, is The BOATHOUSE still one of our favorite spots at Disney Springs? Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… You’re looking for great seafood: Obviously, a place called The BOATHOUSE has pretty good seafood! We’ve had items like different kinds of oysters, grouper, shrimp, and more. Everything usually tastes fresh, bright, with the perfect hit of saltiness, and if seafood is your thing, you’ll have to cross this restaurant off your list. You want a relaxing meal: Sometimes you need to escape the chaos of the theme parks, and one way to do this is by choosing a long table service experience to soak in all the relaxation. We love the comfortable seating, beautiful views out the window, and enjoying the drinks, appetizers, bread on the table, entrees, and dessert. You’re celebrating: While this isn’t the most expensive restaurant in Disney Springs, it’s definitely not the cheapest. We like coming here when we’re celebrating or looking for a place to catch up with friends visiting from out of town, to make it feel special. It’s also nice for a date night! You should skip this Disney World spot if… Seafood is not your thing: While there are great options outside of seafood that we love, if no one in your party is obsessed with seafood, you’ll probably be able to find another restaurant with a wider variety of options. We usually don’t find that this restaurant “smells” like a seafood restaurant, but you might not enjoy the prices if seafood isn’t your focus. You have kids dining with you: While there is a kids’ menu with mac and cheese, burgers, and chicken tenders, there might not be enough options for your kids. There is also grilled salmon and popcorn shrimp for those who are a little more adventurous, but if you have picky eaters and they’re particular about their meals, a restaurant with a more expansive kids’ menu might be better. You’re looking for something more unique: While we do love The BOATHOUSE, the dishes are not the most unique we’ve seen. They’re packed with great flavor and quality, but they’re dishes we’re familiar with. If you’re looking for something you might not have heard of, this might not be it, but if you’re dabbling in seafood, you might enjoy the wide variety of options. We’re so excited to finally have an Encanto-themed attraction coming to Disney World, though we’ve still got many months to go before its planned debut in 2027. ©Disney The new ride, based on the family’s Casita, will be in the new Tropical Americas land in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, which is currently under construction at the former home of DinoLand, U.S.A. While we’re still waiting for an official opening date, we’re watching construction closely, but thanks to Instagram, we’ve got an update on what’s happening with the attraction OUTSIDE of the park! Now, again, there’s been no confirmation of this, but considering the ride will need new vocals from the cast, and we could possibly only be about a year away from opening, we’re really hoping this is the ride taking another step towards opening. ©Disney While we still don’t know a whole ton about the new ride, we do know that the story of the ride takes place after Antonio receives his gift, allowing his room to transform into a lush rainforest. Guests will journey through the Casita itself, encountering members of the Madrigal family along the way, resulting in a story that expands on the film rather than simply retelling it. It also looks like the ride will be a boat attraction, meaning water will likely be involved. ©Disney We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all the latest Disney news, both inside the park and out, so you can keep up with all the latest news, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB! Every week, we report the average Disney World wait times in every park so that you can be prepared for your next trip to Orlando! Animal Kingdom Disney World wait times have a reputation for being, well, unpredictable, and that’s especially true during the summer season. As we approach the Fourth of July, one of the most popular holidays people choose to travel for, we know it’s likely important you know exactly how long you may be waiting in line. Let’s just say, even though the holiday is right on top of us, wait times have not been what we expected this week. We’re seeing that the average wait time for most attractions, including some of Disney’s most popular, aren’t high at all. They usually sit just around an hour, and while that’s certainly not no time at all to wait, and it does add up, it begs the question — do you really need Lightning Lane in Disney World right now, especially if you’re on a longer trip? Grab your hot dogs and fireworks because it’s the Fourth of July! Fourth of July in Magic Kingdom Around the resort, there are several limited-time snacks to enjoy, rare fireworks to watch, and more! While America is celebrating its 250th birthday, we are celebrating at the Magic Kingdom by checking out the crowds. You might be just as surprised as we were! Happy Birthday, America! The country tends to celebrate in BIG ways each year, but this year might be the biggest bash yet. If you’re partying at home or in Disney World, we thought we’d take you along with us to check out one of the most popular park days of the year. Starting off on Main Street, U.S.A., while crowds looked a little intense, it wasn’t shoulder to shoulder, which was nice. Not too wild on Main Street While we walked through the rest of the park, we noticed that there were fewer people out than we expected to see, especially on such a big holiday. Fantasyland Crowds That was, until we stepped into some of the quick service restaurants and noticed that the crowds are all in there, soaking in the AC. We found the people! This makes complete sense. July is almost always hot as all get out in Disney World, but this week has been something else. There’s been a heat wave affecting a large part of the United States, making things even hotter than usual. The AC is where it’s at Crowds can be deceiving, though! One of the best ways to really tell just how busy a Disney World park is is to check those wait times. Right at around 11 AM, the highest wait time in the park was TRON Lightcycle / Run at 70 minutes. ©Disney The party isn’t just going on in Magic Kingdom! Over in the rest of the parks, wait times are looking pretty normal for a summer day. Test Track was the highest around 2:30 PM at 110 minutes, Slinky Dog Dash was sitting at 95 minutes, Frozen Ever After sat at 75 minutes, and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure was sitting at 70 minutes. There were numerous rides that were closed throughout the parks, so it does look like the parks may be having a bit of trouble, but overall, nothing too intense. ©Disney If you’re in Disney World this weekend to celebrate, there are lots of ways to get in on the patriotic fun! In Magic Kingdom, you can watch Disney’s Celebrate America! — A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky. This nighttime fireworks show will take place on July 3rd, July 4th, and July 5th at 9 PM each night. Magic Kingdom Fourth of July Fireworks Over in EPCOT, you can check out the newest version of Soarin’ called Soarin’ Across America! This new version of the popular ride takes you across some of the nation’s most notable landmarks. Soarin’ Across America You can also watch The Heartbeat of Freedom fireworks show on the 3rd, 4th, and 5th at 9:15 PM nightly. It’s important to note that this show is not a full fireworks show, but rather a 5-minute patriotic finale that’s added to Luminous: The Symphony of Us. ©Jeff Krause There are also tons of red, white, and blue snacks across the theme parks and resort, and the special Sam Eagle Popcorn Bucket. It is a tribute to all popcorn buckets, but mostly to himself. Sam Eagle Popcorn Bucket No matter where or how you’re celebrating, we’re here to say Happy Fourth of July from our team to yours. Disney cruises can be EXPENSIVE, which means you’ll want to get the most out of your vacation. Disney Wish There are a lot of different activities, excursions, dining options, and so much more, so how can you get the most out of what you paid for while still being able to relax, save time and money, and not be stressed on your Disney cruise? We’ve tested three alleged loopholes to see if they helped our vacation at all, and here’s what we found out. Use the Transfer Shuttle from Disney Resorts for Better Boarding Time You’re going to need to get to the cruise port somehow, right? Why not take a Disney Cruise Line transfer shuttle! This service takes care of your luggage and (possibly) your port arrival time, so you don’t have to stress about it, and you can fully enjoy the experience. Disney Cruise Line Transfer Shuttle This isn’t an ordinary shuttle; this is a grand motorcoach with cushioned seats, luggage service, and even TVs that play Disney shows. This shuttle runs from any Disney-owned resort, so if you’re planning on taking the shuttle from the Swan or Dolphin Resorts, you won’t be able to. It also comes at an additional cost of $45 per person, per way, but we think it’s absolutely worth it! Children under the age of three will be able to board for free. Disney Cruise Line Transfer Shuttle Interior You don’t have to worry too much about picking a port arrival time because guests using the Disney Cruise Line Transfer Shuttle have more flexibility and may have the opportunity to board earlier! One of our team members actually put this to the test, and it worked — she was able to board so much earlier than the other guests! Note that this is not guaranteed, but it is a possibility. Port Canaveral To add this service to your vacation, simply add it to your cart when you book, or call Disney Cruise Line and add it in later. You do have to book this service at least 72 hours in advance. Didn’t book the transfer shuttle on the day in, but want to book it when you disembark? No worries — you can book it onboard with guest services! Disney Cruise Line Transfer Shuttle 5 Splurges That Are Always Worth It on Disney Cruise Line Connect to the Ship’s Wi-Fi from Outside the Terminal Not only can you save so much time by doing this, but you can also start booking activities before everyone else. One of our team members has had success when trying to connect to the ship’s Wi-Fi from outside the ship, and, of course, she used it to her advantage! Disney Cruise Line Terminal While waiting for her boarding group to be called, she was able to connect to the ship’s Wi-Fi and start looking at the schedule! Not only was she able to plan ahead without wasting any vacation time, but she was also able to reserve various activities, like beverage seminars, a few times. Port Canaveral This Mistake Could Ruin Your Disney Cruise (and It’s SO Easy to Make) Make Some Dining Reservations Onboard Like Disney World restaurants, some reservations can be extremely difficult to get, especially when there are only so many days in your vacation and a lot of signature dining locations to choose from. Well, there’s a possibility you could snag them after they show that they’re sold out online! Palo Entrance When you’re booking online, these are the timeframes guests are able to book their dining reservations and activities: First-Time Guests: 75 days prior to sail date Silver Castaway Club Member: 90 days prior to sail date Gold Castaway Club Member: 105 days prior to sail date Platinum Castaway Club Member: 120 days prior to sail date Pearl Castaway Club Member: 123 days prior to sail date Concierge Guests: 130 days prior to sail date* Enchanté For those first-time guests, it can be hard to secure those hard-to-get dining reservations. That’s why when you get on board, head straight to the “dining change desks” — you may be able to secure a last-minute reservation! One of our team members was able to get a Palo dinner reservation by bypassing everything else and going straight to stand in line for dining reservations! She’s also been able to switch her table to a private table, which makes for a relaxing and more comfortable meal. Enchanté on the Disney Treasure Five Secrets Nobody Knows About Castaway Cay Until Their Third Disney Cruise Booking a Disney Cruise can be stressful, especially if it’s your first one! We’ve all said it before, “I’m only going to come home with one souvenir,” and then you end up coming home with 20. TRON Pressed Pennies There are so many souvenirs you can find at Disney World that if I tried to name them all, you’d be reading this until the morning comes up the next day (yes, it’s really that many). So, what souvenirs are worth getting? Should you get a t-shirt with Mickey Mouse on it that you’ll only wear once, or should you get something more unique like a pin that has the hotel name of where you stayed on that trip? We’re thinking on the more unique side, so here are six souvenirs you can ONLY find at Disney World hotels. One of the best ways to commemorate a trip is by purchasing something specific to the resort you stayed at. And it’s especially great when you can use these things in your everyday life without them just hanging in your closet, collecting dust until your next trip! Resort Houseware What’s better than drinking coffee in the morning before braving the day ahead? Drinking that coffee out of a resort-themed mug. One of our favorite sections of Disney World souvenirs is the houseware section. A BoardWalk Inn coffee mug? Add it to my cart. A Riviera Resort coaster set? It’s coming home with me. And don’t even get me started on my Coronado Springs wine glass — that thing gets used AT LEAST once a week. Coronado Springs Wine Glass So, if you want to add a little extra Disney magic to your meals at home and pretend like you’re back at your beloved resort, make sure you buy some type of resort-themed houseware on your next trip! Polynesian Village Resort Mug How to Make Mickey Waffles at Home! Resort Loungeflys Did you need a new bag and want to flaunt the resort you stayed at on your last Disney trip? Grab one of the resort-specific Loungefly bags! They don’t have these at every resort, but you can find them at a lot! Most notably, you can find them at the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, BoardWalk Inn, Art of Animation, Old Key West Resort, and Disney’s Riviera Resort! It’s always good to add another Loungefly to your collection, especially when it’s scented (YES! SCENTED!) Old Key West Loungefly Backpacks! If you make your way on over to Thimbles & Threads on the BoardWalk, you’ll be able to find the FLAVOR scented Loungefly themed to the BoardWalk Inn! AND it glows in the dark! Best of both worlds, am I right? For most of these backpacks, you’ll also be able to find matching ears! THE Scented Loungefly My Friend Wants to Buy a Loungefly on A Budget So I Sent Her These 5 on Amazon! Resort Pins As a pin trader myself, a resort pin is a MUST BUY whenever I stay at one of the Disney resorts. There are so many different ways to display them, with one of the most popular being pressed into a cork board and hung up on the wall. Although you can’t really do anything with it other than display it, it’s still a cool souvenir to have because over time, you’ll see your collection start to grow and be able to remember all the resorts you stayed at! Beach Club Resort Pin 3 Pin-Trading Essentials for Disney World! Resort Souvenir Pennies Similar to the pins, there isn’t much to do with souvenir pennies after you buy them other than display them. But they’re still worth getting because of how many there are and how often they change! Let’s take the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster refurbishment for example: in February 2026, guests were able to get souvenir pennies for the attraction starring Aerosmith. After the attraction closed to change the theme to The Muppets, guests were able to get “under construction” pennies featuring those characters! And now (June 2026), guests can get pennies themed to the newly refurbished attraction. So, in less than a year span, there were THREE different sets of souvenir pennies for ONE attraction. Definitely be sure to check your resort hotel every time you visit, in case they changed out the pennies! Contemporary Resort Pressed Penny Machines 5 Splurges in Disney World That Experts Say Are 100% Worth It! Disney Vacation Club-Specific Merchandise If you’re a Disney Vacation Club member, listen up! Your home resort carries DVC-specific merchandise at its shopping locations! So, if you’re looking to get a souvenir but want it to be a little more specific to you, this is a great option! From shirts to ears and bags to stickers, there’s something for every DVC member in your party! You may even find DVC merchandise WITH details of your home resort, like a shirt that has “Disney Vacation Club” and “Riviera Resort” written on it! Disney Vacation Club Merchandise 8 Game-Changing Disney Vacation Club Announcements for 2026! Cookies? No, not a cookie jar… ACTUAL cookies. The Polynesian Village Resort sells packs of cookies from the Honolulu Cookie Company, and they are DELICIOUS! And the best part? They come packaged, so you can buy some at the beginning of your trip to eat during your stay and at the end of your trip to bring home! These Hawaiian-inspired shortbread cookies can be found in the BouTiki and sometimes in the packaged food section of Moana Mercantile. Just imagine how good these would be with your tea in the Polynesian Resort coffee mug you just bought?! These cookies are SO good! A MAJOR Hotel Transportation Perk Is BACK At Disney’s Polynesian Resort! So, the next time you’re thinking of buying a plain shirt with Mickey Mouse on it, take a second to remember these great souvenirs you can only find at the resorts! Disney Springs is home to dozens of incredible restaurants that are all so different from one another, so on any given day, you and your party should have no trouble finding an option you all will enjoy. We could eat these all day City Works Eatery and Pour House is, in our opinion, one of the most underrated spots in the entire shopping and dining district, and we recently just stopped by to grab one of their offerings that isn’t obviously available to those looking to dine here quickly. It’s only available as part of a table service meal, or by going up to the host stand, but trust us when we say that the extra work is BEYOND worth it! The Crab Rangoon Mozzarella Sticks will cost you $15.95, and they’re filled with crab, shrimp, cream cheese, mozzarella, green onion, and garlic, all wrapped in a freshly fried panko breading. It’s served with a firecracker sauce with sesame seeds mixed in, which is sweet with a faint spice that’s more in the aftertaste than the initial bite. Crab Rangoon Mozzarella Sticks The thick coating gives these a nice crunchy texture that’s evenly fried. The filling is generous, and the strongest flavor is the crab, while the shrimp is more subtle. The cream cheese and mozzarella make a smooth and creamy blend, and the green onion and garlic add a savory taste to the overall bite. Now the firecracker sauce is what makes these taste like a genuine crab rangoon! The stick is still flavorful without it, but it definitely enhances the flavors, so if you’re a crab rangoon fan, you’ve got to run and grab these ASAP. These are FANTASTIC We love that this isn’t a messy snack at all, and they’re truly worth a visit to City Works alone, especially if you know you’re a big fan of the flavor profile. As a reminder, these are NOT on the walkup menu outside. They can either be ordered at the table service or to go at the host stand, which is what we did, and it took around 10-15 minutes. So don’t be fooled if you don’t see them on the walkup menu — they ARE there! Consider us massive fans Looking for more recent reviews around Disney? Check out our posts below! More Recent Reviews! Walt Disney Studios opened in Hollywood Studios in May, and while we have been obsessed with the fun courtyard, we have our eyes on the prize — The Magic of Disney Animation. Walt Disney Studios — Animation Building This building in the back will be home to The Magic of Disney Animation, which will host most of the fun, including Olaf Draws and the Drawn to Wonderland Playground. Disney said it will open “late summer,” and they filed another permit, which means we are getting closer and closer to it opening! Disney filed a permit to “provide labor, material, and/or electric for construction” in The Magic of Disney Animation building in Walt Disney Studios. They posted a behind-the-scenes look on their social media a while ago, and while it was starting to come to life, it was really looking like an empty warehouse. Hopefully this means everything is starting to get cleaned up. The building that previously housed Star Wars: Launch Bay will be transformed into this new experience, which is inspired by the short Once Upon a Studio. We love that the iconic Sorcerer Mickey hat has made its way back to Hollywood Studios in a new light. Chip ‘n Dale Ani-made It looks gorgeous at night, too. It lights up! Olaf Draws will let you become a Disney animator. Led by Olaf and real Disney animators, you’ll get to grab paper and pencil and draw your own favorite characters. We’re super excited to see this brand-new Olaf animatronic, which will be voiced by the iconic Josh Gad. “Olaf Draws” Concept Art ©Disney You can also meet characters! You’ll be able to meet Mulan, Rapunzel, Chip n’ Dale, Donald and Daisy, Goofy, and Stitch in areas themed to different departments of an animation studio. ©Disney Personally, I’m most excited for the Drawn to Wonderland Playground, which is an indoor playground with an “oversized flower garden with musical instruments, a Mad Tea party playset, and a Tugley Wood exploration area.” Drawn to Wonderland Playground Concept Art ©Disney We’re also looking forward to the Once Upon a Studio Theater, which will play the short with “enhanced effects that add an extra layer of magic.” Disney hasn’t announced the official opening date beyond late summer 2026, but we are ready to dive in as soon as we can and see the space for ourselves. Make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more Disney news you’ll want to know before your next Disney vacation. 12 HIDDEN DETAILS IN THE NEW HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS LAND Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! It’s the Fourth of July at Disney World, which means there are tons of new food at the parks! There are so many limited-time treats, including Fourth of July-themed cakes, cupcakes, cheesecake, milkshakes, beignets, and even chocolate-covered bacon. But there’s a new Fourth of July-themed churro that you need to see! Liberty Pop Churro We love heading to Disney Springs to try all of the newest snacks and treats. So when we saw there was a new Fourth of July churro at Sunshine Churros, we had to run over and try it! The Liberty Pop Churro is $7.99 at Sunshine Churros. This is a warm churro rolled in vanilla sugar that’s drizzled with blue icing and strawberry sauce, then topped with popping candy for a sweet, crackling finish. Liberty Pop Churro This is a classic churro you know and love, but instead of cinnamon sugar, it’s coated in a warm vanilla sugar that adds a fun twist. The blue icing is just standard buttercream icing dyed blue, but the strawberry sauce is the star of the show – it’s super strong with a natural, fruity flavor. The popping candy added a satisfying popping sensation, creating a unique texture! Liberty Pop Churro This Liberty Pop Churro is the flavor of the month, so it’ll only be available until July 31st. Sunshine Churros has two locations at Disney Springs: one in the Marketplace and another on the West Side. No matter which one you visit, you’ll find a variety of Churros in specialty flavors such as watermelon, Fruity Pebbles, and more, in addition to the traditional cinnamon! Our favorites of the permanent selections are the Oreo Cheesecake Churro, Fruity Pebbles Churro, and Strawberry Cheesecake Churro. Oreo Cheesecake Churro We loved trying this Fourth of July churro at Sunshine Churros. Stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more Disney food reviews! We were in Disney World every day this past week, and saying that a lot happened would be a complete understatement. LEVEL99 is here! A meet and greet location opened EARLY after a lengthy closure, we finally got a reopening date for a popular Disney World hotel restaurant, and an EPCOT store closed for refurbishment, but all of that doesn’t even TOUCH on our favorite event of the past week. One of the biggest updates we got from this past week is that LEVEL99 has officially opened in Disney Springs, and it’s been a HUGE hit so far. We’ve explored all the games in the new location, and it’s been an absolute blast. LEVEL99 Not only that, but La Poutinerie, EPCOT’s newest dining spot, is officially open as of July 1st! There’s a lot more going on in the parks, though, that you won’t want to miss out on, so let’s take a look at all the current closures taking place in Disney World from July 3rd through July 11th. Magic Kingdom Carousel of Progress Carousel of Progress will close on July 6th to undergo a major refurbishment. The work will include completely revamping the scenes in the attraction to make them more modern and represent more recent parts of history, as well as add in a new Walt Disney animatronic at the opening. ©Disney Currently, the attraction is set to reopen in 2027, though no official date has been set yet. Big Top Souvenirs Big Top Souvenirs closed on February 20th, and Disney has said it’ll “reopen for guests to enjoy later this year,” but there’s no date in sight. When we stopped by recently, we noticed that the entire top of the store is GONE right now! As of right now, there’s no mention as to when this store will reopen. The tent disappeared! We’re really curious to see how this all turns out, so we’ll keep you updated! Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island An iconic part of the Magic Kingdom is now permanently closed. As of July 7th, 2025, the Rivers of America, including the Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island, are permanently closed to make way for the new Cars area, Piston Peak. There are lots of construction walls up in the area now, and the structures on Tom Sawyer Island have been demolished. Most recently, we saw some updates to the concrete on the land, as well as leveling taking place for the new attractions — how exciting! Piston Peak construction Piston Peak National Park will be replacing this area of the Magic Kingdom. Disney has not yet announced an opening date for the new Cars area, but we do know it will feature two brand-new attractions and be themed to look like a National Park. A Popular Magic Kingdom Show Is CHANGING Soon Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Parts of) Animation Courtyard Animation Courtyard closed on September 25th, 2025, to make way for Walt Disney Studios. The courtyard area, new Disney Jr. show, and meet and greet station for Sofia the First and SupeKitties officially opened on May 26th, but we’re still waiting for the other sections of the area to open. Star Wars Launch Bay will be turned into The Magic of Disney Animation. This attraction will have you interacting and exploring with this fun take on Disney Animation headquarters, complete with the return of the Sorcerer Mickey hat! The Magic of Disney Animation in Walt Disney Studios This area will also feature a new Drawn to Wonderland indoor play area that we can’t wait to see! Muppets Courtyard Muppet*Vision 3D and PizzeRizzo closed on June 8th, 2025, and Muppets Courtyard has been walled off for construction on the new Monsters, Inc. land. Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano has been closed since May 11th, 2025. Most recently, Disney released new information about Monstropolis, saying that “Monstropolis — the monster city now powered by laughter — is getting ready to give humans a glimpse of what’s been hidden from their world for generations. Which raises an interesting question: if humans were never meant to enter the monster world … why are the doors finally opening to us?” ©Disney We’ll get to explore their world during H.U.M.A.N. Day, or “Humans Understand Monsters Are Nice” Day, with Disney continuing to say, “Human guests will have the chance to explore the city, meet its citizens, taste unique cuisine, and step into the everyday world of monsters in a totally new way. For the first time, two worlds once separated are meeting face to scaly, furry, and fang-filled face – brought together not by screams, but by laughter.” ©Disney It’s also been fully confirmed that Harryhausen’s will be one of the restaurants in the new land, which we’re beyond excited to experience. If you’re missing The Muppets, you can go visit them at Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets right now! 6 Major Disney World Christmas Announcements Just Dropped EPCOT La Signature La Signature, one of the stores located in the France Pavilion, closed for refurbishment on June 30th. La Signature closed The store specializes in French cosmetics and fragrances from Guerlain. During the closure, if you’re looking to buy Guerlain products, they’ll be temporarily available at the nearby Plume Et Palette. 3 NEW Restaurants, Attraction Overhauls, and Food and Wine Festival Updates — Every Major Disney Announcement You Missed Disney’s Animal Kingdom DinoLand, USA On February 2nd, DinoLand, USA officially closed to make way for the new Tropical Americas land, Pueblo Esperanza. Most recently, we noticed that walls are beginning to be built up inside the new land, and there are several large pieces of construction equipment on the land. Lots of progress! We can also see lots of work happening at the front of the new Indiana Jones ride! via @bioreconstruct This new land is shaping up nicely! It will have three new rides – a carousel featuring classic Disney animals, an Indiana Jones ride where you’ll explore a Mayan temple, and an Encanto ride that invites you into the Madrigals’ home. We can’t wait to continue to see how it all shapes up. There’s A NEW Family Member in Disney’s Animal Kingdom! Disney World Hotels Boat Dock — Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Starting on May 11th, the Boat Dock at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort became unavailable for guests to use due to refurbishment. The dock is closed! Boat transportation was unavailable through June 5th, but has now reopened. Construction on the dock as a whole will continue through late June. It’s not too bad, but this does mean the only way to get from the hotel to Magic Kingdom is to take the Monorail or walk. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa This hotel has been undergoing refurbishments for quite some time now, but some sections of the hotel — specifically the porte cochere — will continue to undergo refurbishment through at least early 2027. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort We certainly hope it’ll actually reopen on this timeline — we’re a little tired of seeing construction all over this beautiful hotel! Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort Currently, work is taking place all over Bay Lake Tower through Late 2027. Additionally, exterior elevator landing repairs will be taking place through late May 2026. Bay Lake Tower While currently no major closures are taking place due to this construction, it’s important to note that you may see or hear construction during your stay. Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort For those looking to dine at this hotel, you need to know that the Turf Club Bar & Grill and Turf Club Lounge will both be under refurbishment from mid-March through mid-September 2026. Turf Club Bar & Grill In early April, the Turf Club Lounge will close for refurbishment and will reopen in early August. In the meantime, the Turf Club Bar & Grill will remain open with a pop-up bar serving a modified Lounge food and beverage menu. Then, from early to mid-August, the Turf Club patio will close for refurbishment, and finally, from mid-August through mid-September, the Turf Club Bar & Grill will be closed for refurbishment, but the Turf Club Lounge will be open. Leisure Pools — Disney’s Yacht Club Resort and Disney’s Beach Club Resort Disney’s Yacht Club and Disney’s Beach Club Resort are currently undergoing visible exterior maintenance. The maintenance could affect views and may require alternate routes at times. In addition, two of the resort’s leisure pools will close for routine maintenance. Tidal Pool At Disney’s Yacht Club, the Admiral leisure will be closed for maintenance through early May 2026. At Disney’s Beach Club, the Tidal leisure pool will be closed for maintenance through early May 2026. Guests may see or hear construction work, but it will only be done during the daytime hours. Yachtsman Steakhouse — Disney’s Yacht Club Resort On May 11th, Yachtsman Steakhouse officially closed for refurbishment. Yachtsman Steakhouse Recently, it was revealed that reservations for this restaurant are now available beginning on August 28th! Promenade Fine Art Gallery — Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and Resort The Promenade Fine Art Gallery closed its Disney’s BoardWalk location on October 20th, 2025. However, the Promenade Fine Art Gallery isn’t closing for good, and it will just be moving to a new location. Promenade Fine Art Gallery Disney just filed permits for the BoardWalk titled “Project Amazon” and “Project Bubbles” earlier this year, and now that we have a bit more information on them, we’re thinking that this currently vacant spot could soon become the home of the new Basin on the BoardWalk store on its way! The shop will be rooted in the resort’s classic boardwalk heritage and will offer a sensory shopping experience that is described as “both timeless and distinctly new.” Jellyrolls — Disney’s BoardWalk Jellyrolls at Disney’s BoardWalk officially closed on April 19th, 2025. This entertainment venue has provided our team with countless memories, and we know many others are also sad to see it close. Jellyrolls had its final farewell performance on April 19th. 2025 and closed its doors forever on Disney’s BoardWalk. It was just recently revealed, though, that a new lounge will be coming to the BoardWalk! ©Disney The new lounge will be called Hurly-Burly and will be a “fun-filled afternoons and glamorous evenings inside a historic seaside theatre with a vibrant BoardWalk story that spans over a century.” Based on the concept art revealed, it’s looking like the former JellyRolls building would be the best fit for this spot, but we’re also waiting to see where the new quick-service restaurant announced for the BoardWalk will be going!
