Disney’s BoardWalk is one of our favorite resorts to visit at Disney World. From the food to the shopping to the vibes, we find ourselves here time and time again, although things haven’t felt quite the same since Jellyrolls closed. Hurly-Burly It’s been over a year since the duelling piano bar closed at Boardwalk, and as much as we love the resort, we felt like it needed something for nightlife. Well, the Boardwalk is undergoing a massive change, adding new shopping, dining, and entertainment locations! One thing we’re specifically excited about is the new lounge, Hurly-Burly. However, did you notice the small detail Disney mentioned about it? Disney’s Hurly-Burly Lounge is a new lounge coming to Boardwalk, taking over where Jellyrolls used to be. Disney said it will have “entertainment offerings, vintage drinks and lite bites inspired by an era of world-class performances and nautical novelty!” We got a ton of other news on the lounge recently, but you may have missed a small detail. Hurly-Burly Concept Art ©Disney Hurly-Burly will have a lounge where you can enjoy eats, drinks, and entertainment, but the new dining spot is also going to have a walk-up window for select beverages. So, if you’re going for a stroll down Disney’s BoardWalk, you can stop by Hurly-Burly’s window for a quick grab-and-go drink! Hurly-Burly This is going to be an awesome addition, as Disney’s Boardwalk has a lot of guests who just like to walk around during the day and during the night. Those who aren’t looking to sit down anywhere have an easy alternative to still enjoy the lounge’s offerings. It’s also perfect for nights when it may be too busy for more guests, which may be the case when it first opens. Hard at work Now, you won’t be able to get EVERY drink from Hurly-Burly at the walk-up window, but there is a handful of select options. The options will include: Caramel Corn Cold Brew: Joffrey’s Cold Brew Coffee topped with caramel sweet cream and caramel popcorn (Available at the walk-up window) Cherry Marquee: Minute Maid Premium Lemonade blended with Amarena cherries and garnished with a gourmet cherry (Available at the walk-up window) Caramel Corn Old Fashioned: Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon, caramel corn, and The Bitter Truth Decanter Bitters (Available at the walk-up window) Cherry-Vodka Limeade: Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Amarena cherry, and cold-pressed lime juice (Available at the walk-up window) The Atlantic Review: Hangar One Mandarin Blossom Vodka, Cointreau Liqueur, Minute Maid Orange Juice, and Sprite (Available at the walk-up window) Bubble Brava!: Chinola Passion Fruit Liqueur, Italian Amaro, lemon juice, and Viarae Prosecco (Available at the walk-up window) La Taquilla Picante: Ghost Blanco Tequila, lime juice, orgeat, rose water, and a spiced nutmeg rim (Available at the walk-up window) Off-book Bramble: Fords Gin, Combier Crème de Mûre Liqueur, lemon juice, and blackberry (Available at the walk-up window) Disney didn’t mention anything about small bites being offered at the window as of right now. ©Disney As for the lounge, it will welcome guests for family-friendly fun, including host-led activities like trivia and other games during the day. Durning the lounge will become a 21-and-older space with live music performances, classic cocktails, and light bites. The waves are so fun! Inside the Hurly-Burly, guests can find bites like Meatballs in Tomato Gravy, Roast Beef Sliders, and the Oven-Roasted Shrimp for light bites. Disney did drop the FULL menu already, and there is a lot more being offered that we’re super excited about. ©Disney We can’t wait for the new lounge to open up, which will be on October 1st, 2026. Another permanent closure is coming to Universal Orlando, and this time, we’re pretty disappointed. Animal Actors Live On Stage! We love a lot of things at Disney World, but we REALLY love Disney World transportation. We know that, compared to Mickey pretzels and meeting our favorite princesses, transportation might not seem like our favorite thing, but we love how magical it feels! Skyliner at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort What we don’t love are closures! But these closures help keep everything running smoothly for the future, so it’s a price we’re willing to pay. A closure has been announced for 2027 and 2028, which could affect which resort you want to stay at. The Disney World Skyliner will be closed for routine refurbishment from January 24th to 30th, 2027, and January 24th to February 2nd, 2028. We knew about the 2027 date, but the 2028 date is new. It seems like we can expect routine maintenance every year around the end of January. Inside the Disney Skyliner During these refurbishments, there will be complimentary bus transportation available, so don’t worry, you’ll still be able to get around. Disney World bus Having access to the Skyliner at your Disney World resort can be a huge perk, but if it’s closed for the week you’re going to be there, it might not be worth staying at those resorts. Those resorts include: Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort Disney’s Riviera Resort Disney’s Pop Century Resort Disney’s Art of Animation Resort Skyliner at Caribbean Beach Resort It also connects you to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. EPCOT’s Skyliner stop is at the International Gateway entrance, near the U.K. and France Pavilions, and is only a short walk from Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resort and Disney’s BoardWalk Inn. You’ll be able to walk to EPCOT from those resorts, but it’s an easy ride to Hollywood Studios. EPCOT Skyliner Station Should you stay at a Skyliner resort during the closure? Well, it might be a little quieter than usual because others might choose a different resort. If you’re not obsessed with the Skyliner, you might enjoy using the buses, and if you’re bringing your own car, you get complimentary parking at the hotels and parks. It all depends on how you and your family prefer to get around Disney World, but if you were planning to use the Skyliner, picking another hotel might be a good idea. The Hurly-Burly is set to open at Disney’s BoardWalk on October 1st. The space is taking over the old Jellyrolls building, and because of that, it has a lot to live up to. Fans were devastated when Jollyrolls closed, and everyone immediately started questioning what would take over the dueling pianos, which had been there for almost 30 years. Hurly-Burly Concept Art ©Disney While some are excited for the Hurly-Burly and the new food and drinks it’s going to offer, others aren’t too thrilled. What does the public say about Hurly-Burly? Let’s find out! Before we dive in too deep, what is the Hurly-Burly? The large restaurant and entertainment space will be open to families in the afternoons, with lively activities like trivia and games. Starting at 9 PM, the experience switches to guests ages 21 and older, with live music. ©Disney Some of the menu items include Meatballs in Tomato Gravy with veal, pork, and beef meatballs with tomato gravy, stacciatella cheese, Pecorino Romano, and toasted focaccia… ©Disney …Roast Beef Sliders with shaved roast beef and horseradish-mustard sour cream on slider rolls… ©Disney …Mini Apple Cider Doughnuts with miso-caramel sauce… ©Disney …Overture in Orange, which is a nostalgic frozen treat made with Minute Made Orange Juice topped with sweet cream… ©Disney …and Mertini made with Plymouth Navy Strength Gin, Dolin Dry Vermouth de Chambéry, and Hella Cocktail Co. Orange Bitters. Disney is bringing in that 1920s style all inspired by “an era of world-class performances and nautical novelty.” ©Disney We checked out our social media to see what people were saying about the space. Some questioned the photos, asking, “Were these pics made with AI? They look so strange.” ©Disney One commenter said, “Every time I hear about a new Disney Dining location, I get excited, until they post the menu. Now this is just another place there’s no point going to, and further proof that Disney is catering to foodies and has turned its back on anyone else.” ©Disney Quite a few commenters said “Prefer Jellyrolls honestly” and shared their love for the original space. Jellyrolls With the recent changes to bus transportation that stop guests from taking the free buses at Disney Springs to resorts with a room or dining reservations, one guest expressed how the transportation will be frustrating. So guests are restricted from parking at Boardwalk, can’t take bus transportation to Boardwalk from Springs, so they expect guests to park at Studios and walk, as after the park closes no transportation back.” That’s a valid point! The bus stop We also saw some comments on Disney’s official post with a lot of positive comments like “GET IN MY BELLY!” and “Oh I am SO ready.” Someone else said, “A new set of sliders just walked into town!” and someone said, “Can’t wait to be a hurly burly girly.” ©Disney The restaurant is set to open on October 1st, and we’re excited to see what’s happening. The menu is set to be an all-day experience, so you can grab a bite during the family-friendly hours and late at night. Disney has been repainting the building, and while we haven’t seen the inside yet, the concept art makes it look like a lot of fun. The waves are so fun! We’ll be there when Hurly-Burly opens so we can see it for ourselves and try all the dishes and drinks, but in the meantime, make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more news, along with tips and tricks on how to have the best Disney World vacation ever. I never knew I needed something SO bad until I saw this. Muppet Watches! Oris, a watch brand, is teaming up with the Muppets to create the best-watched we have ever seen in our lives. These are going to be the ultimate gifts for Muppet lovers in your life, or for yourself because they’re that good. Check out the Oris ProPilot x Gonzo Edition! Oris ProPilot x Gonzo This is a daring, high-wire mechanical art created with Disney’s The Muppets. Not only is it for Gonzo, but it’s also for The Great Gonzo! Beautiful This is their third watch in the collection following Kermit and Miss Piggy. Miss Piggy and Kermit The watch is just as bold as Gonzo himself and is based on the ProPilot x Calibrew 115. It’s hand-wound and features a 10-day power reserve and a non-linear power-reserve indicator that shows the time remaining before the watch needs winding again. The power reserve indicates 10 “GREAT” days, making a call to the Muppet. ©Oris From there, it’s all Gonzo. The gradient from blue to red to yellow is inspired by his fur and style, and the laser-etched dial ring magically changes color depending on the light, just like one of Gonzo’s stage acts. The details are stunning As the watch is round, tiny laser-etched etchings along the spring’s edge come together to form Gonzo’s smiling, enthusiastic face! It then disperses again as the power is expanded and the hand nears zero, like the tension that builds during the countdown to Gonzo’s cannonball stunt. ©Oris What we love is that it’s more of a subtle nod to the Great Gonzo. Instead of being decked out in cannonballs and feathers, the colors represent him with smaller nods to his adventures and tricks the closer you look. It’s a great way to keep the Muppet love alive throughout the day without having to wear his flower pot on your head. Obsessed is an understatement The watch is absolutely stunning, and we think it’s going to be popular. Make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more of our favorite Disney finds that you don’t want to miss. CHECK OUT SOME OF THE OTHER MUPPET WATCHES HERE! After transforming into Jessie’s Roundup during Cool KIDS’ Summer, The Diamond Horseshoe at Magic Kingdom is undergoing another transformation! The Diamond Horseshoe is closed! The popular Magic Kingdom restaurant is changing up once again, as it will soon become a pop-up restaurant with a brand-new menu. We’re going to be able to make reservations soon, and although we’ve been getting lots of news on the restaurant, we were not expecting to hear this! The limited-time pop-up is coming to The Diamond Horseshoe on October 4th, right in time for the middle of the Halloween season. Reservations for the pop-up will open on September 29th, and we’re sure it’s going to be an extremely popular spot! The restaurant menu is still up As soon as we saw it was opening in October, we had one question. Will this be available during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party? Unfortunately, the answer to that question is no; it will not be available during the party. However, that’s not the case for the other holiday party in Magic Kingdom. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2026 That’s right, the new pop-up will be available during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. It was noted that all offerings are subject to change and availability, but we can expect to see the pop-up during the holiday party. Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration The new menu just dropped for the pop-up, and these were some of the items we were most excited about: Charcuterie: Cured beef, candied bacon, smoked pork, green chile cheese, smoked cheddar, and pickles Glazed Sticky Ribs with cowboy beans and jalapeño crisps Queso Fundido with Barbecue Burnt Ends with warm tortilla chips Sweet Golden Corn Fritters with cilantro ranch dressing and red chili honey Chipotle Chicken Tostada with queso fresco, lime crema, and pickled cactus salsa Mini Hot Dog Platter: Wrapped in pastry, served with tortilla chips and a side of queso ©Disney We can’t wait to try out all the new offerings that the pop-up will have, and we certainly can’t wait to see if there are any exclusive items at the restaurant during the holidays. Disney park bags can make or break your day. The wrong one leaves you digging for sunscreen, juggling a water bottle, and wondering why you packed six different kinds of snacks but somehow forgot your phone charger. The right one keeps your essentials organized, your hands mostly free, and your park-day chaos at least somewhat contained. We love our Loungeflys Maybe you want your giant water bottle within reach. Maybe you want a classic Loungefly that actually matches everything. Maybe you need enough pockets to organize sunscreen, chargers, snacks, and whatever mysterious tiny object your kid hands you at 10:43 AM. So, we went looking for Disney park bags for a few very different kinds of park people. And, well, we found them all! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. BAGSMART Magnetic 40oz Water Bottle Holder with Strap For the person whose first Disney packing priority is HYDRATION, allow us to introduce your new park sidekick. The BAGSMART Magnetic 40oz Water Bottle Holder with Strap basically turns your giant water bottle into its own little crossbody situation. So instead of cramming a 40-ounce bottle into a backpack, carrying it around by the handle all day, or discovering that your cute park bag’s side pocket was apparently designed for a glorified sippy cup. BAGSMART Water Bottle Holder Bag The holder is magnetic. That feature is probably more useful at the gym than while wandering around EPCOT, but we’re never going to complain about an accessory doing extra credit. This could be especially handy for travelers who otherwise pack light. Toss your phone, wallet, and charger into a smaller bag, sling your water bottle over your shoulder, and suddenly you’ve got a pretty streamlined park setup. BAGSMART Water Bottle Holder Bag Also, anything that makes it easier to drink water instead of realizing at 4 PM that you’ve consumed one iced coffee and half a Diet Coke gets a point from us. view ON AMAZON HOYOFO Mini Backpack Organizer Insert Small Shoulder Bag Divider We have discussed this little organizer before, and we’re discussing it again because Loungefly chaos is real. A mini backpack looks extremely civilized from the outside. Inside? Charger. Lip balm. Sunglasses. Hand sanitizer. Receipts. Sunscreen. Two crushed granola bars. A rogue penny. Absolute anarchy. HOYOFO Mini Backpack Organizer The HOYOFO Mini Backpack Organizer Insert gives all those little park necessities actual places to live. If you love mini backpacks but hate sticking your entire arm inside one every time you need your FuelRod, this is the fix. It’s also particularly handy if you’re one of those people with multiple Loungefly bags in rotation. Instead of repacking every tiny park essential whenever you switch bags, you can move the organizer. Loungefly Organizer Your Halloween Loungefly becomes your Christmas Loungefly in approximately nine seconds. This isn’t the glamorous purchase. Nobody is going to stop you on Main Street, U.S.A. and say, “Excuse me, WHERE did you get that backpack insert?” But when you find your Advil immediately instead of excavating your bag like an archaeological site? That’s luxury. view ON AMAZON Loungefly Disney Minnie Mouse Black Sequin Sometimes the correct answer is simply Loungefly. The Disney Minnie Mouse Black Sequin Loungefly is one of those park bags that works because it isn’t trying too hard. You’ve got Minnie ears. You’ve got a red bow. You’ve got black sequins. It’s Disney enough for the parks without being so specifically themed that you need to coordinate your entire outfit around it. Wear it to Magic Kingdom. Wear it to EPCOT. Wear it to dinner. Wear it while slowly racking up credit card debt in World of Disney. ©Amazon Black sequins are basically a neutral at Disney World. And if you’re someone who wants the classic Disney mini-backpack experience, this is exactly that. Small enough that you can’t pack your entire house, but roomy enough for the park essentials you really need. Add the organizer above, and now we’re cooking. view ON AMAZON Itzy Ritzy Fanny Pack Crossbody Diaper Bag Do not let the words diaper bag scare you away if you do not currently have a diaper-aged human in your traveling party. Parents have known something the rest of us are slowly figuring out. Bags designed for babies are designed by people who understand that humans carry an astonishing amount of stuff. The Itzy Ritzy Fanny Pack Crossbody Diaper Bag gives you the hands-free convenience of a belt bag or crossbody with the kind of organization you want during a Disney day. ©Amazon This is the option we’d look at for somebody who wants easy access to everything. Phone? Grab it. Wallet? Right there. Sunscreen? No backpack removal ceremony required. And for parents, obviously, you’ve got a bag actually designed with your particular brand of park-day logistics in mind. But we can also see this working beautifully for the adult who simply refuses to carry a backpack in August. view ON AMAZON So, Which Disney Park Bag Is Yours? The perfect Disney park bag does not exist. Or, more accurately, your perfect Disney park bag might be completely different from ours. If you’re committed to carrying enough water to cross the Sahara, grab the BAGSMART holder. If you’re already loyal to your Loungefly collection, make those bags approximately 600% less irritating with the HOYOFO organizer. If you want something unapologetically Disney, the black sequin Minnie Loungefly is hard to beat. And if pockets and easy access outrank mouse ears, that Itzy Ritzy crossbody might quietly win the whole competition. ©Amazon Personally, we’re interested in whichever setup still has room for a snack. Preferably a Key Lime Pie on a Stick. Some priorities are universal. One of our favorite spots in Disney World is celebrating its 17th Anniversary, and it CANNOT be missed! La Cava del Tequila La Cava del Tequila is a fantastic spot over in EPCOT‘s Mexico Pavilion. It’s home to great drinks, and is easily one of the best hidden gems in the whole park. You’ve only got a few days to be able to snag this special drink to celebrate, so don’t wait! This new Old Fashioned at La Cava del Tequila is not to be missed! It dropped on August 29th and will only be around for a few more days, so the time to act is now. This is made with Blanton’s Bourbon, LALO tequila blanco, Amaro liqueur, Ancho Reyes Barrica, Mole Bitters, and House-Made Cherry Syrup. @lacavadeltequila on Instagram It’s very rare that this spot lets us down, which is just one of the reasons we love it (and why it’s as popular as it is). Earlier this year, we got to try the Cafe Foster Margarita and loved it, and felt the same about The Vaquero’s Falsetto, sketched by Bret Iwan. If you’re looking for a great drink in the Mexico pavilion, you’ve got lots of choices, but if the line isn’t too long, you can’t pass up La Cava del Tequila. @lacavadeltequila on Instagram Right now, La Cava del Tequila hasn’t listed an official end date for this drink’s availability, but we know it won’t be around for long. Don’t miss your chance and grab it now! More Recent Reviews! Going to Disney World Soon? If you’ve got a Disney World trip coming up, you’ll want to be aware of a refurbishment that just hit a popular resort! Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort There has been a ton, and we mean a TON, of construction taking place at Disney World in 2026. From hotel refurbishments to ride changes to expansions, Disney World has been in a constant state of change lately. Now, a NEW refurb has hit Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort. The tennis courts at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort are currently closed for a refresh. Disney is resurfacing the two clay courts, and they’ll be closed from late August through November 2026. Disney has not shared an exact reopening date. Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort The refurbishment is just for the tennis courts, so it’s nothing you will need to worry about during your stay unless you want to use the courts. Saratoga Springs Resort That’s not all that’s happening at Saratoga Springs, as the Turf Club Bar & Grill is now officially closed for refurbishment. Currently, Disney hasn’t listed a reopening date, so it’s unclear when the refurbishment will be complete. The restaurant should open back up in mid-September if Disney decides to stick with their originally announced schedule from March. The Turf Club Bar & Grill! Yes, there are two closures at Saratoga Springs, but it’s not all bad news at this popular resort. The Turf Club Lounge has finally reopened at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort after being closed since late April 2026! Disney staggered the closures of the lounge and the restaurant, so now that the restaurant has closed, the lounge has reopened. Turf Club Lounge The lounge has a completely new look, with new tables and chairs, new carpeting, and a brand-new menu! We wasted no time checking out the refurbished lounge, and we recommend going to try it out, too! New bar! We’re always keeping an eye out for the latest Disney news and updates. The EPCOT area hotels are some of our favorites to stay at. You’re right near tons of dining options at the other hotels just a few minutes away, you’re steps away from EPCOT, as well as only a few moments away from getting on the Skyliner or a FriendShip boat and getting to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Beach Club Resort However, if you’re staying here this week, there’s something you need to know about that may affect your nighttime routine — especially if you’ve got littles. There’s fireworks testing happening tonight, and we’ve got all the information you need to know. If you’re staying at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, or any of the EPCOT area hotels, you’ll likely find these warning signs in your hotel lobby today. Tonight, September 1st, from 10 PM to 1:30 AM on September 2nd, there will be fireworks testing happening nearby. This means it’s very likely you’ll be able to hear at least some of the testing from your hotel room. Fireworks testing Fortunately, this is only happening tonight, but it’s very important that you know ahead of time so you can plan. We recommend using some earplugs, if you have them, and checking your hotel’s gift shop if you’re concerned that the sound will disrupt your sleep or others in your party. If you happened to pack a sound machine, tonight will be a GREAT time to bump it up a few notches to cover the sounds. Stormalong Bay Looking for more recent Disney World hotel news? September is here, and that means new menus at Disney World! Pumpkin Bread Chocolate Crumb Cookie We check the menus every month (okay, we check them every day, but we know what we’re looking for when the calendar switches over), and Gideon’s Bakehouse releases a new menu for Disney Springs every month. As one of our favorite cookie spots in all of Disney World, you know we have to check it out. Just wait till you see the menu this month! The limited-time flavor for September is Pumpkin Bread Chocolate Chip Cookie! It’s made with a pumpkin spice blend, a little chocolate on the inside (but not too much), and plenty of pumpkin butter crumbs on top. It will be available every day of the month with a limit of two per person. We’ve tried this cookie before and totally fell in love with it. It’s the perfect combination of pumpkin and chocolate without there being too much of either. ©Gideon’s Bakehouse You can also grab the Pumpkin Caramel Double Frosted Cake. This cake is covered in a layer of caramel buttercream, then topped with another full layer of pumpkin cream cheese buttercream. There’s also a unique vanilla cinnamon swirl cake that is soft and crumbly. It’s available by the slice every Wednesday and Saturday in September. ©Gideon’s Don’t forget to grab the Pumpkin Chai Nitro Cold Brew! ©Gideon’s The menu features Dr. Tobias Brimstone this month, marking the first time since January 2022 that this character has been brought back. You can grab a collectible menu when you visit Disney Springs. Hmmm, doesn’t he look like a pretty popular Disney Imagineer? ©Gideon’s You’ll also be able to grab Dr. Tobias Travel Stamp Sticker • Dr. Tobias Morsels Pin • Dr. Tobias Morsels Beverage Sleeve • Dr. Tobias Adventurers T-Shirt • All Hallows Scented Candles ©Gideon’s Gideon’s also promised that they’re working on a huge project! It’s the 10th anniversary of their East End location, and it sounds like they’re going to have a celebration. ©Gideon’s We love Gideon’s, and we’re so excited to try the new flavors! The Food & Wine Classic at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort is perfect for foodies and anyone looking to spice up their Disney World trip. The festival is packed with dishes and drinks from different chefs and restaurants, giving you a chance to try a wide range of great offerings. 2025 Live Entertainment For the event, they’re offering a special room rate! If you buy a Food & Wine Classic ticket, you can call the hotel (888.828.8850), and if you mention the Food & Wine rate, you get in on a discount. The rate depends on the length of stay, room style, and dates. Swan Reserve rooms You can grab this discounted room rate for up to 4 days pre- and post-event. The event runs on November 20th and 21st, each night from 5 PM to 9 PM, giving you plenty of time to eat and drink. There’s so much to do in November, including the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, and Jollywood Nights. There’s so much to eat! Everything is included in this flat rate. While we use it to try tons of food, if you find your favorite, you can grab more! Let’s eat! There’s also live music and entertainment, which turn the whole area into a lively event. Wine, music, and burgers? Say less! When it comes to visiting Walt Disney World in September, rain is a MAJOR factor. Frogg Toggs Poncho While Central Florida has its fair share of precipitation throughout the year, there’s an uptick in September as it’s usually around the height of Atlantic Hurricane Season. Plus, since temperatures at the end of the month will tend to start dipping, guests drenched from the rain won’t dry off nearly as fast as they do at the height of summer. That’s why we ALWAYS have this essential from Amazon on-hand during September visits. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. The Frogg Toggs Poncho is Our GO-TO For Disney World! FROGG TOGGS Poncho We have tried A LOT of ponchos at Disney World over the years, and this is BY FAR our favorite, especially for the kind of rainy weather you may encounter during Atlantic Hurricane Season in September. This poncho — available on Amazon in multiple colors, including this striking hot pink — had several features that we simply adore. The material allowed the rain to slip right off, and between that and the lack of sleeves, we didn’t feel steamed or hot underneath. On top of that, the poncho was large enough that our backpack was able to fit underneath it comfortably, while still keeping the bag and our backs completely covered from the rain. ©Amazon If all that wasn’t enough, the poncho even comes with a waterproof storage bag, meaning we were able to quickly pack it up and throw it in our backpack as soon as the storm ended without worrying about anything in there getting wet. Frogg Toggs Poncho The Frogg Toggs Poncho is absolutely a 100% must-have for your trip — especially in the rainier parts of the year — and they even offer child sizes! SHOP HERE If you’re heading to Disney World in September, be sure to pick up a Frogg Toggs Poncho on Amazon before you head out, and stay tuned to DFB each week for more Amazon finds! Another reopening is coming to Disney World! Lake Buena Vista Golf Course We’ve been waiting for the Lake Buena Vista Golf Course to reopen, and that day is coming up soon. Grab your golf clubs and let’s hit the greens. The Lake Buena Vista Golf Course is reopening on October 23rd. Reservations are now open, so you can book your slots! Lake Buena Vista Golf Course The course closed in May with a promise of enhancements, including renovated greens, chipping area modifications, upgraded irrigation systems, and a new drainage system. It’s the former home of several big-time events over the years on the PGA Tour, LPGA Tour, and USGA, so you can feel part of the history when playing. ©Disney It’s located near Disney Springs, so it’s fun to catch lunch or a drink at the shopping district before heading over with your clubs. You’re able to rent golf carts, and there’s a pro shop with rentals in case you don’t want to bring your own clubs. ©Disney Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Cafe will also reopen, one of the dining spots near the course. Welcome to Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Cafe One of Disney World’s other courses, the Magnolia Golf Course, recently underwent a reimagining. Four of the holes, known as Grumpy’s Gauntlet, got a super cool Grumpy statue, and you’ll have to navigate through massive bunkers, tricky doglegs, and some of the course’s most undulating greens. ©Disney Make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more Disney news along with everything you need to know for the best trip ever. It’s a sad day when it’s announced that a project many people were looking forward to has been abandoned or canceled. ©Disney We’ve seen a lot of show cancelations this year already, and now, a live action project we were looking forward to seeing come to Disney+ has now been abandoned. Prepare yourselves — some of you may be more than devastated by this news. Variety has reported that sources close to the Gargoyles live-action remake have confirmed that the reboot has been abandoned. The project was being produced by Disney+, and it was announced back in 2023 that the company was working with writer Gary Dauberman and James Wan’s Atomic Monster to bring the live-action to life. The original Disney animated series aired from 1994 to 1997. ©Disney It was pretty dark for Disney at the time, and according to IMDb, the logline for the original series was, “A clan of heroic night creatures pledge to protect modern New York City as they did in Scotland one thousand years earlier.” The show had a total of 78 episodes over its three-year run. When Greg Weisman, co-creator of the original series, was asked about the live-action in an interview, he stated, “That’s dead. I have no idea about animation, but there are no current plans for live-action.” IMDbPro currently lists the live-action reboot as abandoned as of August 31st, 2026. ©IMDbPro This isn’t the first time a reboot or continuation of the series has been talked about or desired, but this is certainly the furthest one has gotten. The original series has quite the strong following, so we’re holding out hope that someday a reboot will happen and bring our childhoods back to life. The Turf Club Lounge has reopened at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, and we’re bringing you all the details to you right here! Turf Club Lounge The lounge has been undergoing a refurbishment, but it’s now back with an updated look and menu. The resort is only a short walk or boat ride from Disney Springs, and might be the best place to escape the park chaos and relax. Ready to see if you need to add this spot to your Disney World bucket list? Atmosphere The Turf Club Lounge is finally reopened after being closed since April 2026. The lounge is attached to the Turf Club Bar & Grill, which is currently closed for refurbishment, but staggered closures give guests more time to check out the spaces. Turf Club Lounge revamped space It’s open from 11 AM to 11 PM, giving you a great excuse to escape the park chaos and relax here at the end of the day. With the renovation, there are new tables and chairs along with carpeting. Beautiful views The brand-new bar looks spectacular as well. The whole space felt welcoming, and we think we’re going to spend a lot of hours here. New bar! Enough about the space, let’s get onto the menu! Menu The lounge offers plenty of drinks, shareable appetizers, and easy lunches or quick meals. With the refurbishment, they added some new menu items, including the Pretzel Charcuterie, and as soon as Disney released photos of it, we knew we NEEDED to try it. New Lounge menu Now that we know the menu, let’s eat! Eats We grabbed the Pretzel Charcuterie for $18, which has prosciutto, salami, pimento cheese, New York white cheddar, beer cheese, grain mustard, and pickled vegetables. Pretzel Charcuterie We’re so glad they upgraded their classic hanging pretzel because this was stellar! The homemade pimento cheese is so creamy, with plenty of that peppery taste, and was a great addition to the plate. We also loved the prosciutto and salami, and the pickled vegetables were a nice surprise. The cauliflower was spicy and crunchy and paired really well with the plate. Sharable The other additions, like the beer cheese and mustard, are more classic for a charcuterie board and, overall, created a great plate. This was a huge appetizer, so make sure you bring at least two people to share! Good pretzel, too! We also had the Herbed Grilled Chicken Sandwich, which our server recommended. It costs $19 and includes fresh mozzarella, crispy prosciutto, tomato confit, and focaccia, served with seasoned waffle fries. Herbed Grilled Chicken Sandwich Another upgrade we can get behind! We were a little distracted by how good the fries are, and you can ask for a side of their spiced, house-made aioli for dipping, which is totally worth it. Don’t even look at that ketchup; go for the aioli. Our reporter said this is “absolutely the most crave-worthy potato side I’ve had in quite a long time.” Get the aioli! The sandwich is also a total winner. The pesto was great, and the mozzarella was melted on top. There was also crispy prosciutto on it, which we didn’t know we needed in a sandwich, but we have no idea how we’ll ever live without it. A total hit Drinks To drink, we grabbed the Mint Julep for $19, which features Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon muddled with fresh mint and agave nectar. Mint Julep This was such a classic take on the mint julep! It’s even served in the classic metal cup just like the Kentucky Derby. It’s full of bourbon and mint, and ice cold with perfectly chipped ice. It’s a strong cocktail, so you’ll probably only need one, but it was incredibly delicious. The mint was well-balanced, and the ice was made with their specialty icemaker, which, as it melts, allows it to mellow out. We will definitely be getting this again. Classic Nosh or Not You should head to the Turf Club Lounge if… You’re looking for a lounge atmosphere with great food — There are quite a few lounges around Disney World, but this one has our heart. The food and drinks were excellent, and the atmosphere was very relaxing. You need late-night bites — We’re so happy the Turf Club Lounge is open till 11 PM, because it can be hard to find food late at night around Disney World. Whether you’re coming back from a long park day or escaping the hotel room in the evening, this is a great spot. You want a night out without a full restaurant experience — If you’re looking for a great date night without the hassles of a full restaurant, this could be the place. It felt intimate without being fancy and was really enjoyable. This might be a skip if… You’re not staying at Saratoga Springs or Disney Springs — While the food and drinks are great, you probably don’t need to go completely out of your way to eat here when there are closer options. You want more family-friendly dishes — Kids are welcome at the Turf Club Lounge, but there isn’t a menu that particularly caters towards the little ones here You’re ready for something more affordable — $19 mint juleps aren’t the cheapest drinks on property, while you generally can’t find drinks under $10; these are a bit steep for a quick night out. We can’t wait to come back! Overall We had a fantastic job at Turf Club Lounge and will definitely be back again. We’re so happy with all the upgrades, from the seating to the waffle fries and all the other bites in between. We thought the dishes were easy to share, and the drink was one of our favorites. This was a great spot to escape all the chaos and enjoy some late-night bites. You will find us here time and time again! In the meantime, make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more of our favorite restaurant reviews that you need to know before heading to Disney World yourself. A Theme Park Built for Speed COTALAND sits trackside at COTA, tucked between turns 19 and 20 of the Formula 1 circuit, giving it a motorsports identity unlike any other park in the country. The roughly 30-acre park blends classic amusement park staples — carousels, log flumes, swinging ships — with racing-themed thrills that lean directly into its location next to a world-class raceway. Guests can expect heavily shaded pathways (COTALAND has reportedly planted hundreds of trees around the grounds), themed lands like a jungle-set Safari Adventure and a butterfly conservatory, and a mix of full-service dining and grab-and-go snack stands serving Texas comfort food alongside international flavors and sweets. ©Cotaland The Headliner Coasters Two roller coasters are drawing most of the buzz ahead of opening day: Circuit Breaker is Texas’ first tilt coaster and only the second of its kind in North America. Riders climb to the top of the track, pause at a 90-degree tilt facing straight down toward the ground, then release into a high-speed run through drops, tunnels, and inversions. Palindrome is the country’s first infinity shuttle coaster, and the only steel coaster in the U.S. built to soar over an active roadway. It sends riders through its course forward, then backward, for a genuinely one-of-a-kind layout. ©Cotaland The Full 34-Ride Lineup Here’s the complete list of what’s opening, organized by thrill intensity, along with each ride’s minimum height requirement. Hold onto your hats! I’m here to present you with a first look at the menu for Hurly-Burly, opening at Disney’s BoardWalk on October 1. Step inside this historic seaside theater, once the home of the BoardWalk’s most celebrated vaudeville performers. Now, nearly a hundred years later, Hurly-Burly is opening its doors once again with entertainment offerings, vintage drinks and lite bites inspired by an era of world class performances and nautical novelty! During the afternoons, pop in for lively activities such as trivia and games designed for the whole family. Then, beginning at 9 p.m., experience vibrant evenings of live music for guests ages 21 and older. And of course, this turn-of-the-century theater would not be complete without a nostalgic all-day menu to match, and this one is certain to knock your socks off! Get ready to indulge in shareable appetizers and small plates inspired by classic boardwalk fare. Snack on the savory Meatballs in Tomato Gravy, a classic dish that the whole family will enjoy. Or opt for some headlining small plates including the Roast Beef Sliders, the Oven-Roasted Shrimp, and the Tomato Pie. And for a sweet grand finale, I present to you the Mini Apple Cider Doughnuts. As for libations, we’ve got some stars. For our guests over 21, sip on the Mertini, a twist on your classic gin martini and an ode to maritime melodrama gone by at this theater. Enjoy modern takes on classic cocktails such as the Overproof Amaretto Sour, made with Old Forester 1920 Prohibition Style bourbon, and the La Taquilla Picante, which translates to “The Hot Ticket,” a spicy margarita garnished with a spiced nutmeg rim. For our guests of all ages, the Overture in Orange is a nostalgic orange and creamy frozen treat. And for coffee lovers like me, sip on the Caramel Corn Cold Brew, topped with caramel sweet cream, and caramel popcorn. And if you’re looking for a libation as you stroll Disney’s BoardWalk, stop by the Hurly-Burly walk-up window for select beverages! I don’t know about you, but I have certainly worked up an appetite. Without further ado, let’s peek behind the curtain at the bites and sips taking center stage!
