  2. We’ve all said it before, “I’m only going to come home with one souvenir,” and then you end up coming home with 20. TRON Pressed Pennies There are so many souvenirs you can find at Disney World that if I tried to name them all, you’d be reading this until the morning comes up the next day (yes, it’s really that many). So, what souvenirs are worth getting? Should you get a t-shirt with Mickey Mouse on it that you’ll only wear once, or should you get something more unique like a pin that has the hotel name of where you stayed on that trip? We’re thinking on the more unique side, so here are six souvenirs you can ONLY find at Disney World hotels. One of the best ways to commemorate a trip is by purchasing something specific to the resort you stayed at. And it’s especially great when you can use these things in your everyday life without them just hanging in your closet, collecting dust until your next trip! Resort Houseware What’s better than drinking coffee in the morning before braving the day ahead? Drinking that coffee out of a resort-themed mug. One of our favorite sections of Disney World souvenirs is the houseware section. A BoardWalk Inn coffee mug? Add it to my cart. A Riviera Resort coaster set? It’s coming home with me. And don’t even get me started on my Coronado Springs wine glass — that thing gets used AT LEAST once a week. Coronado Springs Wine Glass So, if you want to add a little extra Disney magic to your meals at home and pretend like you’re back at your beloved resort, make sure you buy some type of resort-themed houseware on your next trip! Polynesian Village Resort Mug How to Make Mickey Waffles at Home! Resort Loungeflys Did you need a new bag and want to flaunt the resort you stayed at on your last Disney trip? Grab one of the resort-specific Loungefly bags! They don’t have these at every resort, but you can find them at a lot! Most notably, you can find them at the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, BoardWalk Inn, Art of Animation, Old Key West Resort, and Disney’s Riviera Resort! It’s always good to add another Loungefly to your collection, especially when it’s scented (YES! SCENTED!) Old Key West Loungefly Backpacks! If you make your way on over to Thimbles & Threads on the BoardWalk, you’ll be able to find the FLAVOR scented Loungefly themed to the BoardWalk Inn! AND it glows in the dark! Best of both worlds, am I right? For most of these backpacks, you’ll also be able to find matching ears! THE Scented Loungefly My Friend Wants to Buy a Loungefly on A Budget So I Sent Her These 5 on Amazon! Resort Pins As a pin trader myself, a resort pin is a MUST BUY whenever I stay at one of the Disney resorts. There are so many different ways to display them, with one of the most popular being pressed into a cork board and hung up on the wall. Although you can’t really do anything with it other than display it, it’s still a cool souvenir to have because over time, you’ll see your collection start to grow and be able to remember all the resorts you stayed at! Beach Club Resort Pin 3 Pin-Trading Essentials for Disney World! Resort Souvenir Pennies Similar to the pins, there isn’t much to do with souvenir pennies after you buy them other than display them. But they’re still worth getting because of how many there are and how often they change! Let’s take the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster refurbishment for example: in February 2026, guests were able to get souvenir pennies for the attraction starring Aerosmith. After the attraction closed to change the theme to The Muppets, guests were able to get “under construction” pennies featuring those characters! And now (June 2026), guests can get pennies themed to the newly refurbished attraction. So, in less than a year span, there were THREE different sets of souvenir pennies for ONE attraction. Definitely be sure to check your resort hotel every time you visit, in case they changed out the pennies! Contemporary Resort Pressed Penny Machines 5 Splurges in Disney World That Experts Say Are 100% Worth It! Disney Vacation Club-Specific Merchandise If you’re a Disney Vacation Club member, listen up! Your home resort carries DVC-specific merchandise at its shopping locations! So, if you’re looking to get a souvenir but want it to be a little more specific to you, this is a great option! From shirts to ears and bags to stickers, there’s something for every DVC member in your party! You may even find DVC merchandise WITH details of your home resort, like a shirt that has “Disney Vacation Club” and “Riviera Resort” written on it! Disney Vacation Club Merchandise 8 Game-Changing Disney Vacation Club Announcements for 2026! Cookies? No, not a cookie jar… ACTUAL cookies. The Polynesian Village Resort sells packs of cookies from the Honolulu Cookie Company, and they are DELICIOUS! And the best part? They come packaged, so you can buy some at the beginning of your trip to eat during your stay and at the end of your trip to bring home! These Hawaiian-inspired shortbread cookies can be found in the BouTiki and sometimes in the packaged food section of Moana Mercantile. Just imagine how good these would be with your tea in the Polynesian Resort coffee mug you just bought?! These cookies are SO good! A MAJOR Hotel Transportation Perk Is BACK At Disney’s Polynesian Resort! So, the next time you’re thinking of buying a plain shirt with Mickey Mouse on it, take a second to remember these great souvenirs you can only find at the resorts! 3. Disney Springs is home to dozens of incredible restaurants that are all so different from one another, so on any given day, you and your party should have no trouble finding an option you all will enjoy. We could eat these all day City Works Eatery and Pour House is, in our opinion, one of the most underrated spots in the entire shopping and dining district, and we recently just stopped by to grab one of their offerings that isn’t obviously available to those looking to dine here quickly. It’s only available as part of a table service meal, or by going up to the host stand, but trust us when we say that the extra work is BEYOND worth it! The Crab Rangoon Mozzarella Sticks will cost you $15.95, and they’re filled with crab, shrimp, cream cheese, mozzarella, green onion, and garlic, all wrapped in a freshly fried panko breading. It’s served with a firecracker sauce with sesame seeds mixed in, which is sweet with a faint spice that’s more in the aftertaste than the initial bite. Crab Rangoon Mozzarella Sticks The thick coating gives these a nice crunchy texture that’s evenly fried. The filling is generous, and the strongest flavor is the crab, while the shrimp is more subtle. The cream cheese and mozzarella make a smooth and creamy blend, and the green onion and garlic add a savory taste to the overall bite. Now the firecracker sauce is what makes these taste like a genuine crab rangoon! The stick is still flavorful without it, but it definitely enhances the flavors, so if you’re a crab rangoon fan, you’ve got to run and grab these ASAP. These are FANTASTIC We love that this isn’t a messy snack at all, and they’re truly worth a visit to City Works alone, especially if you know you’re a big fan of the flavor profile. As a reminder, these are NOT on the walkup menu outside. They can either be ordered at the table service or to go at the host stand, which is what we did, and it took around 10-15 minutes. So don’t be fooled if you don’t see them on the walkup menu — they ARE there! Consider us massive fans Looking for more recent reviews around Disney? Check out our posts below! More Recent Reviews! 4. Walt Disney Studios opened in Hollywood Studios in May, and while we have been obsessed with the fun courtyard, we have our eyes on the prize — The Magic of Disney Animation. Walt Disney Studios — Animation Building This building in the back will be home to The Magic of Disney Animation, which will host most of the fun, including Olaf Draws and the Drawn to Wonderland Playground. Disney said it will open “late summer,” and they filed another permit, which means we are getting closer and closer to it opening! Disney filed a permit to “provide labor, material, and/or electric for construction” in The Magic of Disney Animation building in Walt Disney Studios. They posted a behind-the-scenes look on their social media a while ago, and while it was starting to come to life, it was really looking like an empty warehouse. Hopefully this means everything is starting to get cleaned up. The building that previously housed Star Wars: Launch Bay will be transformed into this new experience, which is inspired by the short Once Upon a Studio. We love that the iconic Sorcerer Mickey hat has made its way back to Hollywood Studios in a new light. Chip ‘n Dale Ani-made It looks gorgeous at night, too. It lights up! Olaf Draws will let you become a Disney animator. Led by Olaf and real Disney animators, you’ll get to grab paper and pencil and draw your own favorite characters. We’re super excited to see this brand-new Olaf animatronic, which will be voiced by the iconic Josh Gad. “Olaf Draws” Concept Art ©Disney You can also meet characters! You’ll be able to meet Mulan, Rapunzel, Chip n’ Dale, Donald and Daisy, Goofy, and Stitch in areas themed to different departments of an animation studio. ©Disney Personally, I’m most excited for the Drawn to Wonderland Playground, which is an indoor playground with an “oversized flower garden with musical instruments, a Mad Tea party playset, and a Tugley Wood exploration area.” Drawn to Wonderland Playground Concept Art ©Disney We’re also looking forward to the Once Upon a Studio Theater, which will play the short with “enhanced effects that add an extra layer of magic.” Disney hasn’t announced the official opening date beyond late summer 2026, but we are ready to dive in as soon as we can and see the space for ourselves. Make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more Disney news you’ll want to know before your next Disney vacation. 12 HIDDEN DETAILS IN THE NEW HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS LAND Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! 5. It’s the Fourth of July at Disney World, which means there are tons of new food at the parks! There are so many limited-time treats, including Fourth of July-themed cakes, cupcakes, cheesecake, milkshakes, beignets, and even chocolate-covered bacon. But there’s a new Fourth of July-themed churro that you need to see! Liberty Pop Churro We love heading to Disney Springs to try all of the newest snacks and treats. So when we saw there was a new Fourth of July churro at Sunshine Churros, we had to run over and try it! The Liberty Pop Churro is $7.99 at Sunshine Churros. This is a warm churro rolled in vanilla sugar that’s drizzled with blue icing and strawberry sauce, then topped with popping candy for a sweet, crackling finish. Liberty Pop Churro This is a classic churro you know and love, but instead of cinnamon sugar, it’s coated in a warm vanilla sugar that adds a fun twist. The blue icing is just standard buttercream icing dyed blue, but the strawberry sauce is the star of the show – it’s super strong with a natural, fruity flavor. The popping candy added a satisfying popping sensation, creating a unique texture! Liberty Pop Churro This Liberty Pop Churro is the flavor of the month, so it’ll only be available until July 31st. Sunshine Churros has two locations at Disney Springs: one in the Marketplace and another on the West Side. No matter which one you visit, you’ll find a variety of Churros in specialty flavors such as watermelon, Fruity Pebbles, and more, in addition to the traditional cinnamon! Our favorites of the permanent selections are the Oreo Cheesecake Churro, Fruity Pebbles Churro, and Strawberry Cheesecake Churro. Oreo Cheesecake Churro We loved trying this Fourth of July churro at Sunshine Churros. Stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more Disney food reviews! 6. We were in Disney World every day this past week, and saying that a lot happened would be a complete understatement. LEVEL99 is here! A meet and greet location opened EARLY after a lengthy closure, we finally got a reopening date for a popular Disney World hotel restaurant, and an EPCOT store closed for refurbishment, but all of that doesn’t even TOUCH on our favorite event of the past week. One of the biggest updates we got from this past week is that LEVEL99 has officially opened in Disney Springs, and it’s been a HUGE hit so far. We’ve explored all the games in the new location, and it’s been an absolute blast. LEVEL99 Not only that, but La Poutinerie, EPCOT’s newest dining spot, is officially open as of July 1st! There’s a lot more going on in the parks, though, that you won’t want to miss out on, so let’s take a look at all the current closures taking place in Disney World from July 3rd through July 11th. Magic Kingdom Carousel of Progress Carousel of Progress will close on July 6th to undergo a major refurbishment. The work will include completely revamping the scenes in the attraction to make them more modern and represent more recent parts of history, as well as add in a new Walt Disney animatronic at the opening. ©Disney Currently, the attraction is set to reopen in 2027, though no official date has been set yet. Big Top Souvenirs Big Top Souvenirs closed on February 20th, and Disney has said it’ll “reopen for guests to enjoy later this year,” but there’s no date in sight. When we stopped by recently, we noticed that the entire top of the store is GONE right now! As of right now, there’s no mention as to when this store will reopen. The tent disappeared! We’re really curious to see how this all turns out, so we’ll keep you updated! Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island An iconic part of the Magic Kingdom is now permanently closed. As of July 7th, 2025, the Rivers of America, including the Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island, are permanently closed to make way for the new Cars area, Piston Peak. There are lots of construction walls up in the area now, and the structures on Tom Sawyer Island have been demolished. Most recently, we saw some updates to the concrete on the land, as well as leveling taking place for the new attractions — how exciting! Piston Peak construction Piston Peak National Park will be replacing this area of the Magic Kingdom. Disney has not yet announced an opening date for the new Cars area, but we do know it will feature two brand-new attractions and be themed to look like a National Park. A Popular Magic Kingdom Show Is CHANGING Soon Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Parts of) Animation Courtyard Animation Courtyard closed on September 25th, 2025, to make way for Walt Disney Studios. The courtyard area, new Disney Jr. show, and meet and greet station for Sofia the First and SupeKitties officially opened on May 26th, but we’re still waiting for the other sections of the area to open. Star Wars Launch Bay will be turned into The Magic of Disney Animation. This attraction will have you interacting and exploring with this fun take on Disney Animation headquarters, complete with the return of the Sorcerer Mickey hat! The Magic of Disney Animation in Walt Disney Studios This area will also feature a new Drawn to Wonderland indoor play area that we can’t wait to see! Muppets Courtyard Muppet*Vision 3D and PizzeRizzo closed on June 8th, 2025, and Muppets Courtyard has been walled off for construction on the new Monsters, Inc. land. Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano has been closed since May 11th, 2025. Most recently, Disney released new information about Monstropolis, saying that “Monstropolis — the monster city now powered by laughter — is getting ready to give humans a glimpse of what’s been hidden from their world for generations. Which raises an interesting question: if humans were never meant to enter the monster world … why are the doors finally opening to us?” ©Disney We’ll get to explore their world during H.U.M.A.N. Day, or “Humans Understand Monsters Are Nice” Day, with Disney continuing to say, “Human guests will have the chance to explore the city, meet its citizens, taste unique cuisine, and step into the everyday world of monsters in a totally new way. For the first time, two worlds once separated are meeting face to scaly, furry, and fang-filled face – brought together not by screams, but by laughter.” ©Disney It’s also been fully confirmed that Harryhausen’s will be one of the restaurants in the new land, which we’re beyond excited to experience. If you’re missing The Muppets, you can go visit them at Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets right now! 6 Major Disney World Christmas Announcements Just Dropped EPCOT La Signature La Signature, one of the stores located in the France Pavilion, closed for refurbishment on June 30th. La Signature closed The store specializes in French cosmetics and fragrances from Guerlain. During the closure, if you’re looking to buy Guerlain products, they’ll be temporarily available at the nearby Plume Et Palette. 3 NEW Restaurants, Attraction Overhauls, and Food and Wine Festival Updates — Every Major Disney Announcement You Missed Disney’s Animal Kingdom DinoLand, USA On February 2nd, DinoLand, USA officially closed to make way for the new Tropical Americas land, Pueblo Esperanza. Most recently, we noticed that walls are beginning to be built up inside the new land, and there are several large pieces of construction equipment on the land. Lots of progress! We can also see lots of work happening at the front of the new Indiana Jones ride! via @bioreconstruct This new land is shaping up nicely! It will have three new rides – a carousel featuring classic Disney animals, an Indiana Jones ride where you’ll explore a Mayan temple, and an Encanto ride that invites you into the Madrigals’ home. We can’t wait to continue to see how it all shapes up. There’s A NEW Family Member in Disney’s Animal Kingdom! Disney World Hotels Boat Dock — Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Starting on May 11th, the Boat Dock at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort became unavailable for guests to use due to refurbishment. The dock is closed! Boat transportation was unavailable through June 5th, but has now reopened. Construction on the dock as a whole will continue through late June. It’s not too bad, but this does mean the only way to get from the hotel to Magic Kingdom is to take the Monorail or walk. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa This hotel has been undergoing refurbishments for quite some time now, but some sections of the hotel — specifically the porte cochere — will continue to undergo refurbishment through at least early 2027. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort We certainly hope it’ll actually reopen on this timeline — we’re a little tired of seeing construction all over this beautiful hotel! Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort Currently, work is taking place all over Bay Lake Tower through Late 2027. Additionally, exterior elevator landing repairs will be taking place through late May 2026. Bay Lake Tower While currently no major closures are taking place due to this construction, it’s important to note that you may see or hear construction during your stay. Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort For those looking to dine at this hotel, you need to know that the Turf Club Bar & Grill and Turf Club Lounge will both be under refurbishment from mid-March through mid-September 2026. Turf Club Bar & Grill In early April, the Turf Club Lounge will close for refurbishment and will reopen in early August. In the meantime, the Turf Club Bar & Grill will remain open with a pop-up bar serving a modified Lounge food and beverage menu. Then, from early to mid-August, the Turf Club patio will close for refurbishment, and finally, from mid-August through mid-September, the Turf Club Bar & Grill will be closed for refurbishment, but the Turf Club Lounge will be open. Leisure Pools — Disney’s Yacht Club Resort and Disney’s Beach Club Resort Disney’s Yacht Club and Disney’s Beach Club Resort are currently undergoing visible exterior maintenance. The maintenance could affect views and may require alternate routes at times. In addition, two of the resort’s leisure pools will close for routine maintenance. Tidal Pool At Disney’s Yacht Club, the Admiral leisure will be closed for maintenance through early May 2026. At Disney’s Beach Club, the Tidal leisure pool will be closed for maintenance through early May 2026. Guests may see or hear construction work, but it will only be done during the daytime hours. Yachtsman Steakhouse — Disney’s Yacht Club Resort On May 11th, Yachtsman Steakhouse officially closed for refurbishment. Yachtsman Steakhouse Recently, it was revealed that reservations for this restaurant are now available beginning on August 28th! Promenade Fine Art Gallery — Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and Resort The Promenade Fine Art Gallery closed its Disney’s BoardWalk location on October 20th, 2025. However, the Promenade Fine Art Gallery isn’t closing for good, and it will just be moving to a new location. Promenade Fine Art Gallery Disney just filed permits for the BoardWalk titled “Project Amazon” and “Project Bubbles” earlier this year, and now that we have a bit more information on them, we’re thinking that this currently vacant spot could soon become the home of the new Basin on the BoardWalk store on its way! The shop will be rooted in the resort’s classic boardwalk heritage and will offer a sensory shopping experience that is described as “both timeless and distinctly new.” Jellyrolls — Disney’s BoardWalk Jellyrolls at Disney’s BoardWalk officially closed on April 19th, 2025. This entertainment venue has provided our team with countless memories, and we know many others are also sad to see it close. Jellyrolls had its final farewell performance on April 19th. 2025 and closed its doors forever on Disney’s BoardWalk. It was just recently revealed, though, that a new lounge will be coming to the BoardWalk! ©Disney The new lounge will be called Hurly-Burly and will be a “fun-filled afternoons and glamorous evenings inside a historic seaside theatre with a vibrant BoardWalk story that spans over a century.” Based on the concept art revealed, it’s looking like the former JellyRolls building would be the best fit for this spot, but we’re also waiting to see where the new quick-service restaurant announced for the BoardWalk will be going! 7. Disney World is always changing, especially at resort hotels where constant refurbishments and updates happen. We want to make sure you’re calm and comfortable during your vacation instead of hearing jackhammers in your sleep. Wilderness Lodge Construction From room refurbishments to pool and restaurant closures to new dining locations, it’s important to plan around these things and avoid the unexpected. Here are 13 new changes coming to Disney World hotels this Fall! All-Star Movies Resort All-Star Movies Resort started refurbishment on its rooms this past May and plans to continue through late January 2027, so you can plan to expect loud noises and blocked off areas if you’re visiting during this timeframe. If you’re looking for the same atmosphere without the noise, All-Star Music Resort and All-Star Sports Resort are two other great options! All-Star Movies Resort Animal Kingdom Lodge Refurbishment at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge: Kidani Village recently wrapped up in May, but now it’s Jambo House’s turn. Construction on this section of the resort will continue through January 2027. Jambo House Construction BoardWalk Inn After Jellyrolls closed last year, we’ve been wondering what will replace it, and now we at least have a guess! A new lounge called Hurly-Burly will introduce guests to “fun-filled afternoons and glamorous evenings inside a historic seaside theatre with a vibrant BoardWalk story that spans over a century” and is set to open in late 2026. While Disney did not specify where this lounge will be, based on the size of the lounge and the concept art, it looks like it could be in the old Jellyrolls building! ©Disney Contemporary Resort & Bay Lake Tower Both the Contemporary Resort and Bay Lake Tower have lengthy ongoing construction and refurbishments. Bay Lake Tower and the Main Tower Atrium both have construction running through late 2027. There is also Main Tower exterior maintenance, which may impact views from various locations throughout the resort. Disney’s Contemporary Resort Grand Floridian Resort & Spa While construction at Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, including the covered entrance, will continue through early 2027, a popular dining location is set to reopen in October. The Grand Floridian Cafe closes in mid-July and will reopen later in the Fall. In the meantime, guests will be able to enjoy the beloved brunch at Citricos. Grand Floridian Resort & Spa Port Orleans Riverside Through August 2027, guest rooms at Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside will undergo refurbishment throughout different sections of the Resort hotel. Because it may be noisy during this time, we’d suggest staying at the sister resort, Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter! You’ll find the same amenities and transportation offerings with the addition of walking distance to those delicious beignets! Port Orleans Riverside Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa There has been a lot of construction and refurbishments happening around Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, and by the time Fall comes around, it’ll be mostly complete! The Treehouse Villas construction will continue through late September. The Turf Club Lounge will reopen in late August, and The Turf Club Bar and Grill will be closed from late August through late September. Also set to reopen this Fall is Lake Buena Vista Golf Course. The update will include a full greens refurbishment, irrigation upgrades, and other key enhancements. Treehouse Villas Construction Wilderness Lodge Big things are coming to Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, including the addition of its Disney Vacation Club Resort, Lakeshore Lodge! Wilderness Lodge and Copper Creek Villas & Cabins are currently undergoing exterior refurbishment through late 2026. Because of this, the security kiosk is being expanded through mid-October. The entrance to the resort will remain open, but lane closures may occur at times. Guests may also experience obstructed views in some areas. Wilderness Lodge Yacht & Beach Club Resorts Exterior maintenance at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is scheduled to continue through the end of the year, while exterior maintenance at Disney’s Beach Club Resort will occur through late 2027. Yachtsman Steakhouse also closed in early May and has a tentative reopening date of early September. So, if you’re vacationing at Disney World before September and hoping for a nice steak dinner, we’d suggest Steakhouse 71 at The Contemporary, or if you’d like to stay in the area, Ale & Compass Restaurant offers a great selection of entrees. 8. Happy Independence Day and Happy 250th Birthday to America! We’re spending the holiday weekend in Disney World, which means we’re enjoying all the patriotic snacks, as well as the Fourth of July nighttime fireworks shows. ©Jeff Krause As you may know, Magic Kingdom has a special fireworks show on the Fourth of July called Disney’s Celebrate America! – A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky. However, you can also catch Fourth of July fireworks in EPCOT, and we’re going to do that right now. So join us as we enjoy this RARE nighttime spectacle in Disney World. One of the best parts of fireworks in EPCOT is that they take place in the lagoon in the middle of the park. That means you can be around the entire outside of the water and still see the fireworks show. They play the music throughout the whole park so you can listen to the soundtrack. It was incredible! The show is a massive celebration of America! In the music, you can hear “The Stars and Stripes Forever,” “America the Beautiful,” and “Yankee Doodle.” Spaceship Earth also lights up like the American flag. ©Disney This is a great chance to escape the holiday weekend crowds in Magic Kingdom, but still get a chance to see a special fireworks show to mark the occasion. Plus, spending the Fourth of July in EPCOT means you get to see Mickey and his friends in special patriotic outfits at American Adventure Pavilion. Mickey and Pals on the 4th of July You’ll also want to pop into Soarin’ Across America, a special version of the Soarin’ ride that will take you on a breathtaking journey across the United States to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary. 9. When you’re deciding where to stay in Disney World, things can feel a little confusing. Sure, you’ve got Disney’s hotels on property, but what about the Good Neighbor Hotels nearby, as well as the few Official Walt Disney World® Hotels you’ll find around the Disney Springs area, like Wyndham Buena Vista? Free omelettes? Yes, please! There are lots of options to choose from, and staying at an Official Walt Disney World Hotel that’s not owned by Disney, like Wyndham Buena Vista, has some great perks we feel have to be talked about. In this case, we skipped rope drop to check out the hotel’s breakfast buffet, and yeah, we don’t regret it one bit. No, you didn’t hear that wrong. When you stay at Wyndham Buena Vista, you’ll get access to a breakfast buffet every morning at Lakeview Restaurant. Breakfast begins at 6:30 AM and goes until 11 AM, which means, if you really want, you can get up wildly early, eat breakfast, and then head to a park to rope drop. Or, you can do what we did, and choose to sleep a bit longer, still get that free breakfast, and then head into the parks a bit after rope drop. The menu! The breakfast buffet offerings are a bit limited, but we didn’t mind, because everything we had was delicious. The Mickey waffles are the larger individual waffles and are made upon request, and there’s a full omelet station with many condiments, including spinach, ham, bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms, and cheese. There was also a large selection of fresh fruit, as well as some hot items like eggs benedict, bacon, sausage, and potatoes. There’s also a wide range of toasts with an industrial toaster that you can toast on demand, and you can request fried eggs and a few other hot items. Our plate! We really loved that the Mickey waffles tasted like they were the same batter that they used throughout the resort. They’re light and fluffy, and we almost prefer this larger size to the smaller waffles because you get more of the texture. The Omelets are super fluffy, and all the ingredients were clearly fresh. We also enjoyed how wonderful the staff was, and the restaurant was quiet, allowing for a peaceful morning before the intensity of the rest of the day. Our Mickey Waffle! All in all, what a great deal! You’re staying at an Official Disney World hotel at a much lower price point than others, you’ve got a free shuttle to get to Disney, and the breakfast is a fantastic way to fuel up for a busy day without breaking the bank. This is especially helpful if you’ve got a larger group, or a group that has various different palettes and preferences. We loved it, and absolutely plan to return! 12. Disney World is known for being fun for guests of all ages. There are slow rides with no height restrictions for the younger ones, fast and action-packed rides for the thrill seekers, and shows for the guests who just want to relax. TRON Lightcycle / Run But let’s all be honest — there are some rides where age plays a factor in whether or not you’ll be enjoying the attraction. What we once loved to ride as kids may not be as much fun in our 30s. With that being said, there may be some rides that we tend to avoid now that we’re older. When you get to being in your 30s and 40s, your body doesn’t work like it used to when you were in your teenage years. So that time you rode Expedition Everest 10 times in a row when you were 14 and waiting in 2-hour-long lines doesn’t really sound appealing anymore, does it? Here are five rides in Magic Kingdom that millennials tend to avoid: Line for Jungle Cruise Space Mountain When people ask, “What’s the roughest ride in Magic Kingdom?” what tends to be most people’s answer is Space Mountain. This indoor steel coaster is packed with jerks, bumps, turns, and whiplash. The ride still operates on its 1975 track design, so it’s a lot less smooth and a lot more jolting than other coasters in the park. Space Mountain If you’re looking for a free chiropractic appointment or to be in pain for the rest of the day, this is the ride for you! But if you want to enjoy the rest of your vacation and relax, we suggest sitting this one out! Looks a lot more painful with the lights on! Inside Space Mountain: Everything You Don’t See When the Lights Are Out! Tiana’s Bayou Adventure One thing that might be worse than riding a bumpy attraction that’ll give you whiplash is riding an attraction that’ll get you wet. And when I say wet, I mean sometimes you’ll get absolutely drenched to the point where it looks like you decided to take a swim in the fountain at Gaston’s Tavern. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is a millennial’s worst nightmare — the chance to get drenched not once, not twice, but a whopping five times throughout the ride. And if you’re placed in the front row, you might as well kiss those dry clothes goodbye because you’ll be wet for the rest of the day! THE PLUNGE! One of our team members hasn’t even ridden Tiana’s Bayou Adventure yet because that’s just how much she dreads being soaked! But if it’s a hot day and you don’t want to head back to your resort and hop in the pool, I guess this is an alternative to cool off. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure The Secret Way To Avoid Getting Soaked on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure TRON Lightcycle / Run If you didn’t think it could get worse, it just did. Because not only is this attraction whippy, but it also has extremely long lines. And those lines are in the sun…I guess we might need to head back to Frontierland for a little cool-off after all. TRON Lightcycle / Run Line TRON Lightcycle / Run tends to consistently have one of the longest waits in the park, alongside Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Peter Pan’s Flight. And waiting outside in the Florida heat, especially in the summer, for a ride that lasts nearly 60 seconds just isn’t worth it for some people. TRON Lightcycle / Run I Had 3 Major Problems at TRON Lightcycle / Run in Disney World; Here’s How I Solved Them Here Are Some Alternative Rides! If you’re looking for smoother coasters or rides with shorter lines, here are some we suggest! Seven Dwarfs Mine Train: Although this may have long lines, it is a much smoother coaster than Space Mountain and still gets you that thrill! Big Thunder Mountain Railroad: This attraction recently reopened after a lengthy refurbishment, so you may see long lines in the near future, but the refurbishment also brought a new and smoother track! Pirates of the Caribbean: An indoor queue. A low wait. Less of a splash. All things millennials love! Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover: This relaxing ride around Tomorrowland will keep you cool and entertained! Jungle Cruise: Craving some dad jokes and a ride along the water? Jungle Cruise has got you covered! Pirates of the Caribbean We’re here for you so you don’t encounter any surprises on your next Disney trip! 13. We love using Disney World’s skip-the-line service so we can hop on all of our favorite rides in one day, even if it’s super crowded. 17. A long Disney World day gets a whole lot easier when you’ve packed the right gear. ©Target Between Florida’s heat, long attraction queues, and miles of walking, a few smart additions to your park bag can make a huge difference. If you’re getting ready for your next vacation, these Target finds solve some of the biggest problems you’ll run into during a Disney day. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. This Will be the Thing That Saves You at 2PM ©Target The afternoon heat at Disney World can wear you down fast, especially during the warmer months. Finding ways to cool off between attractions can help you stay comfortable and keep your energy up instead of heading back to the hotel early. The JISULIFE Handheld Mini Fan is one of those items you’ll end up using far more than you expected. Its foldable design works as both a handheld fan and a desk fan for your resort room, all while the 4,500mAh battery delivers up to 37 hours of cooling. It also has three fan speeds, soft silicone blades, and even doubles as a power bank for your phone when your battery starts disappearing after taking hundreds of Disney photos. It’s worth adding this one to your packing list. view ON target Don’t Let the Florida Heat Win ©Target Even if you have a fan, there are days when you need something that cools you down instantly. Whether you’re waiting outside for a parade or walking across EPCOT in the afternoon sun, a cooling towel can be surprisingly effective. The Champion Chill Zone Cooling Towel is activated with water. Simply wet it, wring it out, and snap it to activate the cooling technology. The soft brushed microfiber feels comfortable around your neck or shoulders, and it’s machine washable so you can use it again throughout your vacation. At 34 inches by 10 inches, it’s large enough to make a noticeable difference without taking up much room in your backpack. Check it out before your next park day. view ON target The Truth is Your Phone Battery Doesn’t Stand a Chance ©Target Between mobile ordering, checking wait times, using the Disney World app, and taking photos all day, your phone battery drains much faster than normal. Running out of power before the fireworks is never fun. The INIU PowerPaw 10000 makes that problem much easier to avoid. This ultra-lightweight 10,000mAh portable charger is smaller and lighter than many competing power banks, making it easy to slip into a park bag. It can charge up to three devices at once, and its fast-charging capabilities can power an iPhone 16 Pro Max to 75% in about 30 minutes. That’s exactly the kind of backup you’ll appreciate during a full park day. view ON target Staying Hydrated Shouldn’t Feel Like a Chore ©Target Walking several miles around Disney World means you’ll be reaching for water constantly. Having a bottle that’s comfortable to carry and easy to drink from makes staying hydrated much easier. The Owala 30 fl oz Stainless Steel FreeSip Sway Tumbler in the Misty Meadow colorway checks all the boxes. It features Owala’s popular FreeSip spout that lets you sip through a straw or swig from the wide opening. It also has a triple-layer insulation to help keep drinks cold for hours. 18. We’ve got incredible news out of Disney’s Animal Kingdom! If you’re a big fan of seeing the incredible animals all over the park, especially on the Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail, then this news is about to make you book a ticket ASAP. Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail There’s a new member of the family in the park, and he’s already settling into his new home. His name is Bakari, he’s a male western lowland gorilla, and he’s ADORABLE. Back in September 2025, the oldest gorilla at Animal Kingdom, Gino, unexpectedly passed away, leaving a space in the Gorilla Falls family. Now, Disney has introduced Bakari to the pack, and he’s making himself feel at home. ©Disney So far, there are no photos of Bakari with any of the other gorillas, and it’s possible that’s due to the fact that he’s still settling in. Just like we’re currently seeing with the kangaroos and wallabies over at Bluey’s Wild World, new animals often need ample time to adjust to their new settings inside Animal Kingdom. ©Disney Disney hasn’t revealed how old Bakari is or anything about his history at this time, but we’ll keep a close eye out for information and keep walking the trail to see how he’s doing. 22. Welcome to July! We’re jumping right into the month with the Fourth of July holiday, which has lots of excitement all around, but especially in EPCOT and Magic Kingdom. Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire If you’re visiting later in the month, however, there’s something you need to know about one of the popular stage shows that happens in front of Cinderella Castle throughout the day. Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire will be unavailable for a select number of days this month — here’s what you need to know. When we took a look at the upcoming schedule for showtimes in July, we noticed something strange. There are currently no showtimes shown for July 7th through 15th, and it doesn’t appear that anything is replacing them. ©Disney Disney doesn’t seem to have any reasoning listed for the change in showtime, and hasn’t announced any construction that would be going on to affect the shows, though it’s entirely possible that we could see an announcement happening later, or see something arrive in the park at that time. Shows are set to resume on July 16th currently, but we’ll keep a close eye to see if that stays the same. ©Disney In case you haven’t seen it, Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire is a fun, lively, energetic show that happens right in front of Cinderella Castle. You’ll get to see characters like Mickey, Minnie, Tiana, Louis, Olaf, Anna, Elsa, and so many more. It’s a great way to start off the day on the right foot, but keep in mind that there’s limited shade right in front of the castle, so things may get HOT quick! 24. A holiday weekend is upon us, and you know what that means…crowds. Now, we’re not just talking about crowds in Disney World. You’ll also be dealing with crowds pretty much everywhere you travel, including on the roads and at airports. Main Street, U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom But just how busy will things get throughout the Fourth of July weekend? Well, we have an answer…and you might not like it if you’re traveling soon. According to the TSA, security checkpoints at airports are expecting to screen nearly 18.7 million air travelers throughout the Fourth of July holiday weekend. The agency has said that it’s “well prepared” to handle all those people throughout this period, which runs from June 30th through July 6th. The highest passenger volume was expected to occur on July 2nd. TSA lines at MCO “We’re thrilled so many passengers are planning travel to enjoy America’s milestone 250th birthday and celebrate the greatest nation on earth,” said TSA Senior Official Performing the Duties of the Administrator Ha Nguyen McNeill. “TSA security checkpoints are fully staffed and prepared to welcome these travelers and handle the large passenger volumes expected during the Fourth of July holiday period. MCO Airport Security The TSA also recently added some new technology at many airports ahead of the FIFA World Cup. McNeill said, “TSA is working closely with federal, state and local partners to safeguard the traveling public and manage security for large-scale public events. Thanks to the dedication of our screening officers and our industry and airport partners, travelers are experiencing faster screening lanes and enhanced technologies that deliver the highest levels of security.” Security checkpoint at MCO With that being said, though, you’ll probably want to make sure to arrive at the airport to give yourself plenty of time to get through security checkpoints. It might also come in handy to have TSA PreCheck, although you can also use free programs at some airports to expedite the security process, like MCO Reserve at Orlando International Airport, which allows you to reserve a time to go through a special, shorter security lane. ©Orlando International Airport We’ll keep an eye out for more travel news, so stay tuned to DFB for more. 5 Travel Essentials We’re Never Flying Without Again Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! 26. Disneyland is a busy bee these days! Sleeping Beauty Castle The original Disney theme park is wrapping up its 70th Anniversary celebration while preparing for a Halloween takeover that starts next month. Speaking of August, two new closures are coming to Disneyland next month. Going to Disneyland means riding genuinely iconic attractions, trying out famous food, and even hugging some human-sized mice. Things are constantly changing around the theme parks these days, so checking the construction calendar ahead of your park day should be part of your vacation routine right now. Disneyland Main Street In August, there are two closures that might throw your plans off, and one is definitely more impactful than the other. First, the Haunted Mansion will be closed starting on Saturday, August 8th. This one isn’t a huge surprise because this is an annual closure! Haunted Mansion in Disneyland The popular Disney ride will be closed to make way for its spooky overlay, Haunted Mansion Holiday! This is when Jack Skellington, Sally, and more characters from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas take over the famous ride for a fun holiday twist. This overlay is a hugely popular attraction that started back in 2001 and has grown in popularity since then. Haunted Mansion Holiday Haunted Mansion will close on August 8th, but it will reopen on August 21st, 2026. Jack and the gang will be in the spooky attraction until the holiday season ends sometime in January 2027. Disney hasn’t confirmed a closing date at the time of writing. Last year’s version, it ran until January 7th, 2026. Haunted Mansion Holiday The other closure is Main Street Cinema! This walk-in attraction closes on August 10th, 2026. This vintage movie “palace” screens some of Walt Disney’s earliest cartoons traditionally, but right now, it’s playing a short film called The Last Verse. This short film is about the famous song “it’s a small world” and the last verse written for the song by Richard M. Sherman in his final contribution to the Disney company. The Main Street Cinema The short film was added for the resort’s 70th anniversary celebrations, which officially ends on August 9th, 2026. The Main Street Cinema closure coincides with the end of the 70th celebrations, so it’s safe to assume Disney will be returning the cinema to the animated shorts rather than The Last Verse. Disney hasn’t stated this officially, but it is a safe guess. Cartoons in the Main Street Cinema Disney hasn’t shared when the cinema will reopen, but we’re keeping our eye on it. There are several changes going on around Disneyland, like the mobile order updates, classic attraction changes, and more. 27. Seven decades of happiness. One billion guests from around the world. Countless magical memories. Disneyland Resort commemorated welcoming 1 billion guests to Disneyland park and Disney California Adventure park with a ceremony at the entrance of Disneyland. Over seven decades, the resort has created magical memories for families from around the world, reinforcing its legacy as The Happiest Place on Earth. Reaching this resort milestone just days before the 71st anniversary shows that Walt Disney’s dream lives on today: Disneyland continues to be a source of joy and inspiration to all the world. Disneyland Resort Celebrates 1 Billionth Guest An unsuspecting guest and their family were surprised as the honorary one billionth guest at Disneyland Resort. Andres Robles from Arizona arrived at Disneyland this morning with his parents, Alejandra and Jose Robles, anticipating a fun day ahead to celebrate his eighth birthday. Unbeknownst to him, they were about to be part of Disney history: they were selected as the honorary one billionth guest to have visited Disneyland and California Adventure! The family was invited to participate in a brief ceremony with the Disney Ambassadors of Disneyland Resort at the Main Street, U.S.A., train station platform, where they had the honor of helping unveil an updated sign listing the population of Disneyland as 1,000,000,000. Adding to the excitement, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse made a special appearance on the platform. The Robles family visit is just one of the many lifelong memories that have been created here at Disneyland Resort. From vacations and reunions to birthdays and more, generations of families and friends have come to Disneyland Resort to have fun together. Andres and his parents received a VIP tour guide for the day, which includes a tour of Walt Disney’s private apartment, the newly opened Soarin’ Across America attraction and other special experiences that define a memorable Disneyland visit. A Worldwide Icon of Imagination and Innovation When it opened in 1955, Disneyland park introduced a new concept in family entertainment and launched the theme park industry as we know it today. Disneyland Resort has since welcomed guests from around the world and expanded to become a multifaceted, world-class family resort destination, complete with two renowned Disney theme parks, three hotels and the Downtown Disney District. Disneyland has also served as the inspiration behind the creation of more Disney theme parks and experiences across the globe. Today, Disneyland continues its legacy as a worldwide icon and industry leader in entertainment and theme park experiences. The resort continues to invest in creativity, technology and innovation to bring storytelling to new heights, while fulfilling Walt Disney’s vision that “Disneyland will never be complete as long as there is imagination left in the world.” The post Disneyland Resort Welcomes One Billionth Guest appeared first on Disney Parks Blog.
