  2. Uh oh…a popular Disney World restaurant is getting hit with a closure very soon! While we always hate to see restaurant closures pop up around the parks and resorts, they’re usually necessary — and sometimes it even means a new look or new menu is on the way. United Kingdom pavilion Now that Disney has shared all of the price increases, you’ve probably started planning for your 2027 Disney World vacation. You’ve maybe even started booking those dining experiences now that you know what the new prices are. Well, you’re going to want to know about a closure that’s hitting EPCOT! EPCOT’s Rose & Crown Dining Room, which you’ll find in the United Kingdom pavilion at World Showcase, will enter refurbishment next year. The refurb will begin on February 15th, 2027, and it is expected to remain closed through early spring 2027. There is no official reopening date as of right now. Rose & Crown Rose & Crown is one of EPCOT’s more popular table-service restaurant options. There, you’ll be served British pub-style food and beautiful views of the World Showcase and World Showcase Lagoon. Disney also hasn’t announced any details on what the refurbishment will involve. Rose & Crown Speaking of changes at EPCOT, there are some more on the way. Crazy enough, EPCOT’s International Food & Wine Festival is getting closer and closer to wrapping up. Doesn’t it feel like it just started?! In fact, the festival JUST added India, The Alps, Earth Eats, and Coastal Eats booths recently. The festival will come to an end on November 21st. Crab Cake After Food and Wine wraps up, EPCOT will welcome the International Festival of the Holidays, which begins on November 27th. The festival will bring holiday traditions from all around the world (showcase) to guests through decorations, stories, music, cuisine, and additional special events. 2025 Gingerbread Spaceship Earth in CommuniCore Hall We’ll be keeping an eye out for more news regarding the closure of Rose & Crown. Hopefully Disney shares news on what kind of changes we could be seeing during the refurbishment, as well as when we can expect to see the restaurant reopen. 3. Nashville has a brand-new place to stay, and it’s got Dolly Parton written all over it. SongTeller Hotel Dolly Parton’s SongTeller Hotel has soft opened in Music City with incredible theming, cool experiences, and all the colorful flair we know and love. But the rooms aren’t the only thing guests are booking here. There’s one little extra that has people happily handing over a few more dollars. Wine, chocolate, flowers, and Dolly lyrics in a frame? Yep, there’s a hotel add-on for that. What’s in the Romance Package The “I Will Always Love You” Romance Package is designed to dress up a couple’s getaway. Add it to your stay, and you’ll get: A bottle of sparkling wine Chocolate truffles A sweetheart flower arrangement Framed lyrics to your favorite Dolly song The first three are what you’d hope for from any romance package. The framed lyrics are the part that makes this one feel like it could ONLY happen here. You pick the Dolly song, so it’s personal to the two of you instead of a one-size-fits-all gift. It also fits the whole point of the hotel, which is built around Dolly’s songwriting. That’s a big reason people are saying yes to the extra $45. On a stay that’s already a splurge, it’s a fairly small bump for an anniversary, a honeymoon, or a surprise for your favorite Dolly fan. Standard Room Read the Fine Print First Before you book, there are a few rules to know. The offer is subject to availability, and restrictions apply: Blackout dates and minimum night requirements may apply Availability depends on the room type and travel dates you select It can’t be combined with other offers, promotions, or discounts It’s not valid for groups of 10 or more You’ll need to cancel at least 48 hours before arrival to avoid a penalty The guest must be 21 or older to complete the reservation and check in, and a valid ID is required That no-stacking rule is the one to watch. If you’ve got your eye on another deal at the hotel, you’ll have to choose between the two. SongTeller Hotel Dolly’s Love Letter to Nashville Now, about the hotel you’d be celebrating in! SongTeller Hotel is all about Dolly’s love of music. Dolly has been a SongTeller all her life, and there’s no better place to write a song than Nashville. She calls the hotel “my love letter to the city,” a place for musicians and guests to come together and soak up Music City’s spirit. You can feel that inspiration the second you walk in, along with Dolly’s love of all things colorful. The lobby is large and inviting. It’s sleek and modern, but it still manages to feel cozy and comfortable. One quick note before you plan your trip: this hotel is in Nashville. It is NOT at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, so make sure you’re headed to the right city! Lobby area A Look Inside the Rooms There are several room types to choose from, including the Signature Rooms, Signature Suites, Acoustic Suites, Six Sister Suites, and The SongTeller Suite. Our Signature Room We stayed in a Signature Room, which comes with either a king bed or two queens. It’s loaded with amenities, including a mini fridge, premium sateen sheets, in-room music, a smart TV, nightly turndown service, and more. Signature Suite room What we noticed first was the attention to detail in every part of the room, and even that started outside the room. The blue and pink decor around the doors is stunning, and we love that it’s complete with different song lyrics by Dolly. So cool! When you walk into the room, you will immediately notice the bathroom to the right, complete with a large portrait of Dolly Parton herself on the door. Stepping inside the room The amount of counter space here is absolutely incredible, and we truly cannot get enough. And TWO sinks? Yes, please. The bathroom Let’s take a closer look at that mirror too. We love that the sides, which look like musical staves, light up, as well as the quote from Dolly in the corner. Right across from the bathroom, you’ll find another counter with a mirror, where you can complete your makeup, or keep getting ready if others need the bathroom. This is also where you’ll find your beverage cooler, your ice bucket, and glasses. Across from the bathroom Inside the closet, which you’ll find right next to the table, you’ll find a very nice robe… Robe in the dresser! Further into the rest of the room, this is where you’ll find the bed! This section of the room is also incredibly detailed, and we couldn’t get enough of it. The bedroom The bedside tables have plenty of charging ports, which we really appreciated, and you’ll even find speakers so you can play your own music! Check out the chargers and speaker! One of our favorite details is the wallpaper! It looks like ticket stubs from different Dolly concerts, which we think is so incredible. The wall! One of our other favorite details is the Dolly guitar pillow on the bed. This pillow is everything The windows here have both mesh curtains and darker blackout curtains to choose which you’d like. Windows! On the other side of the room is where you’ll find the TV, as well as the dresser and two different seating areas. Across from the bed For a couple booking the Romance Package, it’s an easy fit. You’ve got a fridge to keep that sparkling wine cold, music to set the mood, and turndown service every night of your stay. See More Details of Our Room Here! The Sister Suite We also took a look at one of the Sister Suites, and this one is made for a group. There are three beds that each fit two people, and every bed has curtains you can pull closed when you want some privacy. Sister Suites The bathroom keeps up with the crowd, too, with multiple vanities and sinks plus three showers. It’s the dream slumber party setup! LOVE this bathroom! The suite is inspired by Dolly’s five sisters, and the details are so sweet. The chandelier in the sitting area features all of their birthstones, and their names appear on the side table. We love a room with a sitting area! COME WITH US to Dolly Parton’s NEW Hotel So, Is It Worth It? We had a fantastic time at SongTeller Hotel. There are more affordable places to stay around Nashville, and we won’t pretend otherwise. But this one puts you right in the heart of the excitement, and for a lot of travelers, that location could justify the price. If you’re already booking a room for a special occasion, the Romance Package is an easy way to make the trip feel like an event. For $45, you’re walking into wine, truffles, flowers, and your song in a frame. And stay tuned to DFB, because we’ll keep sharing more travel tips. 6. A few changes are on the way to Disney World! Some of them are new, and some of them could bring back features we have been missing. Magic Kingdom entrance Disney World recently filed a few permits for some new projects, and while we know what some of them are for, we’re left guessing for another. We have all the information for you, so let’s dive into what’s coming and what’s possibly on the way! Walt Disney Imagineering has filed four new permits with Orange County for signage work, and it looks like it applies to the toll plazas at all four Disney World theme parks. Kentavo is the listed contractor on the permit, and the company is known for Disney signage, with a long track record of work across the resort. Bring Disney to your car! Each permit actually corresponds to one of the four parks, including Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. So, this is very much an update across Disney World rather than a one-off replacement. Driving to Hollywood Studios It’s been a big year of construction at Disney World, from upcoming attractions to rides reopening. One of those reopenings earlier this year was Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Magic Kingdom. Well, it looks like Disney isn’t done quite yet, as Walt Disney Imagineering has also filed a permit to “install set elements” at the popular attraction. While we don’t know what specifically is coming, we think we could see some little friends returning! Big Thunder Mountain Railroad After 16 months of refurbishment, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad finally reopened in May. There were a lot of new elements that had been added to the ride, but we noticed (and so did a lot of guests) that the opossums that used to hang over riders in Tumbleweed were gone! We didn’t panic too much, since Disney said that they’d return soon, but we haven’t seen or heard anything since. Well, like we mentioned, Disney filed a new permit recently, and maybe this is the sign! Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Look, Disney hasn’t stated any details, and there is nothing in the permit that mentions opossums. All we know is that they are working to “install set elements”. That being said, it looks like things could be lining up, but the elements could really be for anything. We’ll be keeping an eye out for any changes. If you’re looking for details on the permit, Walt Disney Imagineering is the owner, and the address at 4485 Caribbean Way #B corresponds to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. We love this ride! We don’t have any other details than what was provided, so we’ll also be keeping an eye out for other updates. There is a lot of construction happening at Disney World still, which means there is a lot to keep up with. So, make sure to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog to get all the latest. 6 Changes Coming to EPCOT Next Month Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! 8. A couple of months ago, one of the restaurants at Disney World closed for the foreseeable future due to a kitchen fire, but we have some good news — this restaurant has OFFICIALLY reopened! Bourbon Steak by Michael Mina On June 25th, 2026, a fire broke out in the kitchen of Bourbon Steak – A Michael Mina Restaurant at the Dolphin Hotel. While it didn’t do any damage to the hotel itself, it had a pretty big impact on the restaurant. We stopped by the hotel yesterday and found the restaurant reopened! We have everything you need to know about booking reservations and dining here! Bourbon Steak by Michael Mina is one of Disney’s signature dining experiences located in the Dolphin Hotel. The restaurant brings a reimagined modern take on the American steakhouse, offering premium cuts of beef, seafood with a variety of global flavors, world-class beverages, and signature desserts. Center Cut Filet Mignon This restaurant is available for dinner only from 5 PM to 11 PM. When the kitchen fire happened, there was no reopening date announced; however, on our recent visit to the Dolphin Hotel, we found it to be open! And the best part is that everything is fixed and they are fully operational! Bourbon Steak by Michael Mina Although the Swan and Dolphin Hotels are not owned directly by Disney, reservations can still be made on the My Disney Experience app and website. Guests can also reserve dining through OpenTable or by calling (407) 934-1199. Bourbon Steak by Michael Mina And this restaurant is definitely worth your time and money. We stopped by when it first opened in July 2025, and it was SO good! The Black Truffle Bread is some of the BEST bread we’ve had on property, the Onion Soup Gratin really wowed us with its flavors and rich cheesiness, the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake was OUTSTANDING, and the steak was one of the BEST steaks we’ve had at Disney World in YEARS! This restaurant blew us away — we’d highly recommend trying it on your next vacation! Onion Soup Gratin But this is only one restaurant out of the hundreds at Disney World, and if you’re planning a vacation, you’re going to need more than one restaurant to eat at. Picking restaurants for Disney World can feel like a full-time job, but don’t worry — we do the work for you! Our Guide to Disney World Dining pulls it all together so you can stop stressing and focus on the fun without feeling like you’re missing a thing! Black Truffle Bread Since Chef Mina is a well-known chef who owns more than 40 restaurants worldwide and has been awarded multiple Michelin stars, it can be difficult to grab reservations at this restaurant. We recommend booking as soon as possible, so you can secure your spot at this signature dining location! Stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for more Disney news, updates, tips, and tricks. 13. Staying at one of the Disney World Deluxe resorts gives you a plethora of perks: Close proximity to one (or even two) of the theme parks, Early Entry into the park, and just a walk away from some of Disney’s signature dining locations! But maybe one of the biggest perks of staying at a Deluxe resort is access to Extended Evening Hours. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge On select nights at select parks, guests staying at a valid resort can enjoy TWO extra hours in the park without the general public crowds. That means lower wait times for some of the biggest attractions! However, not every attraction may be available, and we saw this in Hollywood Studios, but one of the park’s most popular rides was just added to the list of available rides! Extended Evening Hours at Hollywood Studios just got SO much better because one of the park’s most popular attractions just got added to the list of available rides! Previously, guests were not able to ride Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance because it was closed during Extended Evening Hours, but now they can! Disney lists the eligible attractions on their website, so when we were taking a look, we found Rise of the Resistance to now be on there! Rise of the Resistance Here, guests will join the Resistance on a thrilling adventure, but you’re caught by the First Order, and now you have to escape. Luckily, a covert team of Resistance fighters is there to help! You’ll be met face-to-face with Kylo Ren as you try to escape with the help of Finn, Lieutenant Beck, R-5, and more! This trackless ride includes a small Tower of Terror-like drop, but not as intense. Rise of the Resistance The other available attractions in Hollywood Studios during Extended Evening Hours are: Alien Swirling Saucers Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets Slinky Dog Dash Star Tours – The Adventures Continue Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror Toy Story Mania! Slinky Dog Dash And you must be staying at one of the following hotels to be eligible: Disney Deluxe Resorts Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Disney’s Beach Club Resort Disney’s BoardWalk Inn Disney’s Contemporary Resort Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Disney’s Yacht Club Resort Disney’s Beach Club Resort Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Jambo House Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village Disney’s Beach Club Villas Disney’s BoardWalk Villas Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge Disney’s Old Key West Resort Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows Disney’s Riviera Resort Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort – A Disney Vacation Club Resort (The extended evening theme park hours benefit applies to Disney Vacation Club Cabins only.) If you want to be part of Ariel’s world, there are two drinks here that are ‘shore’ to be crowd pleasers. Both featured in an opulent seashell-inspired glass, the Sea Salt Martini is made with Mermaid Sea Salt Vodka, Italicus Rosolio di Bergamotto, cucumber juice, and Cocchi Americano Aperitif, topped with salted coconut sea foam, beet leaf microgreens. 20. Disney World has been making quite a few dining changes recently. Mickey waffle with chicken? Yes, please! We saw resort-wide price increases on restaurants and we’ve seen a few locations (like The Diamond Horseshoe) get makeovers or menu overhauls recently. One beloved spot that got some changes is Grand Floridian Cafe, and it looks like a controversial schedule update is coming! Grand Floridian Cafe at the Grand Floridian Resort has been closed for refurbishment since mid-July and is set to reopen on November 1st. During the restaurant’s closure, guests have been able to enjoy the Grand Flo Cafe brunch menu at Citricos upstairs. But now, it looks like brunch might be changing when the regular space reopens? Seating at the Grand Floridian Cafe Disney just updated its website to add reservation times for breakfast and lunch starting on November 2nd. Previously, reservations during that time period were listed as “brunch,” so will the restaurant now be serving two separate meals?! The hours of operation for the restaurant have not been fully updated yet, still only listing “Dinner” from 5 PM to 9 PM each evening starting November 2nd. ©Disney Brunch at Grand Floridian Cafe has been a longtime favorite of ours, and is often rated among some of the most underrated meals in Disney World. There aren’t a ton of brunch options in Disney World, particularly if you’re visiting mid-week, and if this one goes away, it’ll be the second brunch to disappear recently. DELISH! Not very long ago, Disney World also did away with brunch at Olivia’s Cafe at Old Key West Resort. This was another beloved and underappreciated meal, and Olivia’s now serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily with three separate menus. We were so sad to see brunch go! RIP Brunch at Olivia’s Cafe So Disney, what gives?! Are we going to see more brunch options swapped out for breakfast, lunch, and dinner? We’ll have to wait and see what happens when the Grand Floridian Cafe reopens. Thankfully, there are still a handful of spots to grab brunch in Disney Springs that aren’t Disney-owned (we’re looking at you, Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin‘) and if you want brunch at a Disney Resort, you can still stop by Whispering Canyon Cafe at Wilderness Lodge. To see our list of best breakfast options in Disney World, check out the YouTube video below. We’ll keep you in the loop with any more news about this subject, so stay tuned to DFB. 21. Have you seen Disney World’s latest trending souvenir? It’s even cuter in person! Mickey Souvenir Plate! Disney World recently dropped brand new Mickey Mouse Souvenir Plates for all four theme parks, and we’ve become so obsessed with them. Yes, we went to each of the parks to get our hands on the new plates, and yes, we’re showing them all to you right now! By the time you’re through with this, you’ll be running to grab them for yourself. Animal Kingdom The Mickey Mouse Souvenir Plate at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is yellow, and the plate features the Tree of Life on it. The iconic park landmark even has a cute little smiley face. Mickey Mouse Souvenir Plate The plate is $3 with the purchase of any entree. You can grab the plate at Flame Tree Barbecue… What we got at Flame Tree Barbecue …and Pizzafari. Grab it at Pizzafari! EPCOT The Mickey Mouse Souvenir Plate at EPCOT is green, and the plate features Spaceship Earth. Look how cute the classic attraction looks with its smile and blushing cheeks! Mickey Mouse Souvenir Plate at EPCOT The plate is $3 with the purchase of any entree at Sunshine Seasons… What we got at Sunshine Seasons …and Connections Eatery. This thing is so cute! Hollywood Studios The Mickey Mouse Souvenir Plate at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has a nice purple color to it, which just works with the Tower of Terror character on it. Mickey Mouse Souvenir Plate Just like the other parks, the plate is $3 with the purchase of any entree at Backlot Express… What we got at Backlot Express! …as well as Rosie’s All-American Cafe and Catalina Eddie’s. This is so cute! Magic Kingdom Our last stop is Magic Kingdom, which is probably the destination with the most iconic Mickey Mouse Souvenir Plate of all four parks. Only because you can’t beat Cinderella Castle! The face is a lot harder to see on this plate, but it’s where the clock sits. Mickey Mouse Souvenir Plate at Magic Kingdom The plate is also $3 here with the purchase of any entree at Peco’s Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe… What we got at Peco’s! …and Pinocchio Village Haus. We love this souvenir! We mentioned that the plate comes at an additional cost added to any entree. However, the plate can be added to any entree for a kids’ meal or an adult meal. So, if you want to make the souvenir any cheaper for yourself, we recommend getting a kids’ meal. Go and grab yours! We’re always on the hunt for cute souvenirs at Disney World, and this souvenir specifically had us MOVING to finish the collection. 22. If you’ve ever stood in line at Magic Kingdom with a rumbling stomach, wishing for something savory that you could eat while walking to your first ride, we have some very good news. A brand-new grab-and-go breakfast has arrived, and it might just be the best way to start your park day! Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Spring Rolls We stopped by to try the new breakfast spring rolls at Magic Kingdom, and they did NOT disappoint. Keep reading for our full taste test, plus everything you need to know about where to find them, what they cost, and whether they’re worth adding to your breakfast plans! Over near the entrance to Adventureland, you’ll find a pretty popular little cart — the Spring Roll Cart. This spot is home to our beloved Cheeseburger and Pepperoni Pizza Spring Rolls, but it just recently started serving breakfast spring rolls, too! The new Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Spring Rolls are served with a side of salsa for dipping for $9.79. So, are they worth a stop for a quick breakfast?! Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Spring Rolls Finally, a good grab-and-go savory breakfast at Magic Kingdom. The egg rolls are super crispy and filled with fluffy eggs, cheese, and big chunks of bacon you can actually taste. We were surprised by how much egg is inside, and there’s just the right amount of cheese to make them creamy without overpowering. LOTS of filling The salsa that comes with them has just enough spice to heighten the flavors and add a little acid. It’s chunky, with visible pieces of pepper and tomato, and we enjoyed every bite with a little salsa. The serving is generous, so we weren’t left without salsa for the last bites. It’s mild, borderline medium, so most people should enjoy it, even if you’re spice-averse. Our only complaint is the price — for $10, these are little more than a snack, especially if you’re sharing. Still, despite the price, we love our Magic Kingdom Spring Rolls, so we’ll definitely be coming back for these. We liked the salsa, too! We’ll be on the lookout for even more new snacks you need to try in Magic Kingdom and beyond. 23. Nobody is safe from the Disney World price increases… EPCOT From tickets to dining to experiences, we’ve seen a ton of price increases at Disney World over the past few days. We have another price update for you, only this change is a little different than the rest! EPCOT is known for its dining! After all, we are in the middle of the Food and Wine Festival. There are a lot of places that we love to go to, and one of them is the Spaceship Earth lounge, GEO-82. The lounge offers delicious appetizers, unique drinks, and even a fireworks experience for Luminous: The Symphony of Us. Disney just announced a price change for the popular lounge, and it’s going to change how you book your reservation. Welcome to GEO-82 You can enjoy GEO-82 at any time of the day from 11 AM to 9 PM. However, one of the best times to go is during the fireworks. The GEO-82 Fireworks Experience is a special ticketed offering where you can enjoy a stunning view of Luminous: The Symphony of Us from a private table next to the window at GEO-82, with the music for the production piped into the lounge. Luminous as seen from GEO-82 There used to be a fixed price of $179 for the experience, but Disney has announced that the GEO-82 Fireworks Experience at EPCOT will now be using date-based pricing. Tickets range from $179 to $194 per person, depending on the day that you go. This price change will now impact how you go about making your reservations for this experience. Those popular nights are going to get pricier, especially if you’re going with a big party. Luminous as seen from GEO-82 The fireworks experience is exclusive to guests 21 and older. There’s more that comes with your ticket outside of just a gorgeous fireworks view. The experience also includes: A sommelier-selected champagne (or event-exclusive cocktails, if preferred) A “tasting tower” of savory bites before the fireworks An assortment of sweets during the fireworks Dessert plate You need to check into the lounge 60 minutes before the evening’s fireworks show. Luminous typically begins at 9 PM, but fireworks may start later during peak crowd seasons, such as the holidays, or throughout the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival and the EPCOT Festival of the Holidays. You’ll want to check the start time when making the reservation. Geo-82 On the fence about this experience? Did you book it already and want to know what to expect? Deciding between a regular reservation or fireworks? Take a deep breath because we’ve got you covered. See our full thoughts on GEO-82 below! “It’s the Cinderella’s Royal Table of EPCOT.” We Found a New Secret Dining Experience in Disney World, but It’s NOT Cheap It’ll be interesting to see if the price change impacts how many people book certain days. Will the lower-priced dates see even more people at GEO-82? Will the more expensive dates have fewer people at GEO-82? Only time will tell. 25. We’ve been covering Disney news for a long time, and we thought we’d seen it all. Then someone at Disney World said, “Hold my churro.” Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros Our tale today takes us to EPCOT’s Mexico Pavilion, which is home to a seriously underrated ride: Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros. Now, we love this ride. It’s air-conditioned, it’s a great place to cool off, and it has some of the best background music in World Showcase. But even we, with all our Disney obsession, have never once looked at that river and thought, “You know what this needs? Me.” Once again, this is why we can’t have nice things at Disney World. Dear Disney World parkgoers, why must you be the way that you are? Don’t get us wrong, this certainly isn’t the majority of the people who go to the parks, but every once in a while, someone does something that just makes us scratch our heads and really reconsider the whole “human race” thing. Recently, posts started coming out on social media that showed a video of what appears to be a man diving into the water on the Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros. You can see the video below, which was posted by Michelin-starred Chef Michael Collantes. According to Chef Mike’s post, this was the second “kid” — though he looks like an adult to us — to jump into the water on this ride. He also said that he thought security would be waiting for them when they got off the ride, but he didn’t see anything. Other comments on the post claimed that security caught up with them later and escorted them out of the park, though. However, a representative for Walt Disney World Resort said in a statement to PEOPLE, “This behavior was unsafe and a clear violation of our park rules. The guest and his party were trespassed.” Fiesta Hoy! Needless to say, this is a very, very, very dumb thing to do. Not only will you get caught — Disney has cameras everywhere and they know what you’re doing — and security will likely trespass and ban you from Disney World for good, but the water on these rides isn’t that deep. Diving straight into the water like this dude did could have ended with at best a concussion or worse, a traumatic brain injury. Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time someone has gotten up to shenanigans that make us seriously question their critical thinking skills, either. Donald will be disappointed in you Recently, a guest fell down the 50-foot-drop on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure after exiting the ride vehicle right before the drop, and in the past, we’ve seen people try to climb the Mexico pyramid as well. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Not only that, but one time, on Living with the Land, someone was so determined to grab a fresh cucumber that they literally jumped out of the ride vehicle mid-ride. They got in trouble immediately, and now, they will not be living with the land ever again. We’re not sure what causes people to behave this way at Disney World — maybe it’s intoxication, sheer hubris, or the fact that people feel entitled to do whatever they want when they’re paying to be there. In any case, we certainly don’t condone it — so think before you act, people! A cucumber grown on the ride! We’ll be on the lookout for even more shenanigans taking place in Disney World — though we hope we don’t have to report many more in the future. In the meantime, make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news, and check out even more bizarre things that have happened at Disney World in our video below! 26. My Disney World park bag has a pretty predictable lineup: sunscreen, a portable charger, a refillable water bottle, and a few emergency snacks (obviously). Our Disney bag is full of essentials! But after countless park days and years of learning the hard way, I’ve added one thing to my park bag that I now recommend to my family and friends, and now you too. It might sound a little odd, but I promise, after my fair share of park days in 100-degree temperatures, this is the one thing that will make your day better, DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Deodorant was never part of that list. But after one too many sticky, humid afternoons when I felt completely wilted by 2 PM, I started tossing in a cooling body mist, and it’s seriously changed how I get through hot days in the parks. Now it’s one of the first things I pack, and I’m a little shocked at how much of a difference it makes. Get this spray here on Amazon! ©Amazon The product is the Secret Cooling Aluminum Free Whole Body Deodorant Mist in Invigorating Mint. It’s a 5.2 fl oz spray designed for use all over the body, not just your underarms, and it promises 24-hour odor protection along with instant cooling relief. It’s aluminum-free and pH-balanced, and the formula is meant to soothe and revitalize skin. Secret claims it can lower your skin temperature by 10 degrees. I can tell you that even on days when I’m out in direct sun, stopping for a quick spritz leaves me feeling refreshed and ready to keep going, even when there’s zero shade in sight. ©Amazon What I love most is how light it feels. It doesn’t leave a heavy or sticky residue on my skin, which is the last thing you want when you’re already sweating through a humid Florida afternoon. The mint scent is fresh and clean without being overpowering, and it layers well with my regular deodorant without the two scents clashing. I usually spray it on my neck, wrists, and legs, which are the spots where a little cooling goes a long way when I’m waiting in a long queue or walking between lands. ©Amazon It’s become my favorite midday reset. Whether I’m ducking into a shady spot near a snack cart or taking a quick break on a bench before my next ride, a few sprays help me feel cool, fresh, and a lot less frazzled. If you’re heading to Disney World during the warmer months (which, let’s be honest, is most of the year), this little bottle earns its spot in your park bag. view ON AMAZON We’re always on the hunt for the latest and greatest Disney souvenirs and essentials, so don’t forget to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for more! 27. Disneyland Resort recently welcomed 101-year-old Congressional Medal of Honor recipient and retired U.S. Navy Capt. E. Royce Williams to The Happiest Place on Earth, honoring his remarkable courage and service as part of Disney’s enduring respect for U.S. service members, veterans, and their families. Williams is the oldest living Medal of Honor recipient from the Korean War. History Written in the Skies Capt. Williams joined the U.S. Navy as a naval aviator in 1943, serving in World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. On Nov. 18, 1952, during the Korean War, he was flying from the USS Oriskany when seven Soviet MiG-15 fighter jets appeared, leading to what became the longest dogfight in U.S. military history—a mission that remained classified for more than 50 years. Over his career, he flew more than 220 combat missions and received the Medal of Honor, Silver Star and Navy Cross for his valor, devotion to duty and extraordinary service in the skies. (Official U.S. Navy Photograph). “You know you’re at war and your number one job is not protecting yourself it’s accomplishing a mission,” said Medal of Honor recipient and retired U.S. Navy Captain E. Royce Williams. Photo courtesy of Royce Williams. Honoring a Living Legend at Disneyland Resort Disneyland Resort cast members welcomed Captain Williams, his close friends, and fellow retired military aviators for a day of Disney magic. Together, they visited Sleeping Beauty Castle where he was named an Honorary Citizen of Disneyland—a rare and distinguished honor by Disneyland Ambassador Michele Mary in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland park. Being named an official Citizen of Disneyland was especially meaningful for Captain Williams and he shared that Walt Disney was his hero during World War II for the efforts put forth in his animation and artwork supporting the troops. As the warm late-afternoon light filled Town Square on Main Street, U.S.A., guests gathered around the flagpole for a special Flag Retreat ceremony honoring Royce. A beloved Disneyland tradition since the park’s earliest days, the daily ceremony is a meaningful tribute to service, sacrifice, and patriotism. On this day, that tradition carried even greater significance as Disney cast members, the Disneyland Band, and the Dapper Dans helped recognize Royce’s extraordinary legacy and lifetime of service to our nation. Through music, ceremony, and heartfelt appreciation, Disneyland paid tribute to an American hero whose courage, devotion, and sacrifice continue to inspire generations. “This year has been very special for Royce; he was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor in February, and today Disney is honoring him during the Flag Retreat Ceremony,” said fellow retired U.S. Navy Capt. Paul Tanaka, a friend of Royce Williams. “Disney has shown their profound respect and commitment towards honoring service members, and I’m grateful they have chosen to honor Royce today. I know this is a special moment he will forever cherish.” After the Flag Retreat, Royce was treated to a flight on Soarin’ Across America at Disney California Adventure park. Since the original attraction debuted in 2001, its queue has paid tribute to California and the Golden State’s rich aviation history. For Royce, the experience offered a meaningful opportunity to reflect on the legacy of American aviation while enjoying a touch of Disney magic. Disney’s Profound Commitment of Honoring U.S. Military Service The Walt Disney Company’s tradition of honoring military service dates back more than a century, beginning with founders Walt and Roy O. Disney’s service to country during World War I. Today, that commitment continues through daily Flag Retreat ceremonies at Disneyland, special ticket offers for service members, and eligible veterans, and more. Throughout 2026, Disneyland Resort has offered specially priced promotional theme park tickets for active and retired U.S. Military members and their spouses. Offers are valid through a U.S. Military base ticket office, and eligible service members/veterans can purchase via GOVX.com with a valid Military ID. Lakeshore Lodge Concept Art ©Disney Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge is officially opening on July 1st, 2027 and bookings are now open! Resort Studio Starting out with the Resort Studios, there are a few different types in this category. You can get a Resort Studio either with two queen beds or with one king bed. Both room types come in either resort view or preferred view, and the 2-queen rooms can also be reserved in a “no balcony” style. At this time, some Preferred View rooms are still available for the first week the hotel is open, and these are the rates: July 1st — $745 July 2nd — $778 July 3rd — $778 July 4th — $680 July 5th — $680 July 6th — $680 July 7th — $680 ©Disney For the same room in September, here’s what you would pay: September 12th — $726 September 13th — $726 September 14th — $726 September 15th — $726 September 16th — $751 September 17th — $800 September 18th — $800 ©Disney Finally, we’ve got the nights of December 24th-27th, which would cost you $1201 per night. Villas When it comes to large room spaces, you’ll want to book a villa! The villas come in 1-, 2-, or 3-bedroom sizes. The 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom villas have Resort, Preferred, or Premium Views, and the 3-bedroom villas come exclusively in Premium Views. Based on what’s available still for the first week, here are the rates for a 2-Bedroom Preferred View Villa: July 1st — $1881 July 2nd — $1965 July 3rd — $1965 July 4th — $1719 July 5th — $1719 July 6th — $1719 July 7th — $1719 ©Disney Let’s look at the rates for the same room in September: September 12th — $1834 September 13th — $1834 September 14th — $1834 September 15th — $1834 September 16th — $1896 September 17th — $2021 September 18th — $2021 ©Disney If you stayed in a 2-Bedroom Preferred Villa from December 24th-27th, 2027, it would cost you $3035 a night. Duo Studios Traveling solo or with one other person? A Duo Studio might be right for you! These rooms sleep two adults in a pull-down queen bed and they all have either views of the pool or a partial view of Bay Lake. The Duo Studios are already mostly booked for the first week that the resort opens, but you can get one of these for $512 on the evening of July 5th. ©Disney It seems the Duo Studios are rather popular, because they’re already filling up for September 2027 as well! From September 12th-14th, 2027, these are $547 per night. Keep in mind that these prices do not include tax. ©Disney Like the others, let’s look at December 24th-27th, 2027. For those nights, these rooms cost $905 per night, which is a pretty hefty price to pay for one of the smallest hotel rooms in Disney World. Lake House And finally, the most unique option at Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge are the Lake Houses! You can book either a 1-Bedroom Lake House or a 2-Bedroom Lake House, and they’re booking FAST for the first week that the resort is open. On the evening of July 6th, the 1-Bedroom is $2353 and the 2-Bedroom is $2942. ©Disney On the nights of September 12th-14th, 2027, you’ll pay $2511 a night for the 1-Bedroom Lake Houses and $3139 for the 2-Bedroom Lake Houses. These are a SPLURGE, folks! ©Disney For the dates of December 24th through December 27th, it would cost $4156 a night for a 1-Bedroom and $5195 a night for a 2-Bedroom Lake House. That’s a whopping budget! ©Disney So it looks like you’ll have to budget a LOT if you’re planning to visit during the holiday season, but if you’re just staying at Lakeshore Lodge during the other months of the year, it’s pretty in line with some of Disney World’s other Deluxe Resorts.
