We’re sharing some of our favorite Loungefly hacks that have held up to countless hours in the Disney World parks! We love our Loungeflys! If you’ve been following us for a while, you probably know that Loungefly is one of our go-to brands for park bags. We can’t resist the perfect combination of convenient size AND unique Disney designs! And these hacks take our love for Loungefly park bags to the next level. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Ready to rock your Loungefly around Disney World like an expert? We’ve got you covered! Use a Bag Organizer for Maximum Efficiency We’re starting off with a two-for-one hack, courtesy of this game-changing Mini-Backpack Organizer! Since the main compartment of a Loungefly backpack is a big, open pocket, this helps keep things organized and separated for easy access. No more digging to the bottom of your bag in search of something that suddenly seems impossibly small, like a wayward lip balm or pen for character autographs! ©Amazon Plus, this also makes it SUPER easy to transfer all of your essentials between bags if you’ve got a few different Loungeflys you plan to use throughout your trip. That officially makes this hack a win-win! View on Amazon Pick the Right Size Water Bottle Speaking of tips that touch on multiple things at once, we’re constantly reminding people just how essential it is to bring a Refillable Water Bottle to the park so you can stay hydrated without spending a fortune on bottled water. And if you plan to use a Loungefly as your park bag, you might want to opt for a slightly smaller one, like this Owala Water Bottle, so you have enough room to slip it inside your bag. Ariel Owala Water Bottle As tempting as it might be to grab a big water jug to REALLY stay hydrated, we prefer the trade-off of filling up our bottle a few more times while being able to slip it inside our bag! View on Amazon Clip Your Minnie Ears to Your Bag Since the Loungefly mini-backpacks are smaller than some other park bag options like a standard backpack, we love any creative solutions that help us unlock some extra storage capacity. That’s why we’re fans of these Minnie Ear Holder Keychains that let us clip our ears securely to the outside of our bag when we need to take them off throughout the day. ©Amazon The keychain is easy to clip on and off, so you can loop it through whichever strap on your bag works best. If you’re an avid Minnie Ears wearer, this little accessory is a HUGE help both for saving some space in your bag and keeping your ears from getting squished inside! View on Amazon Customize Your Loungefly Bag with Charms We adore the fun, unique designs on Loungefly bags, and the maximalist in us can’t resist taking the flair to the next level with some gorgeous Bag Charms. With bag charms, we can get hyper-specific with repping our Disney favorites (like these Disney Food Charms, obviously!). Plus, it lets us switch up our accessories day-to-day without taking up all the space in our luggage with a bunch of different bags for each day of the trip. ©Amazon Whether you’re more of a single charm person or want to go all-out with tons of bag charms, the world is your oyster with this customization trick! View on Amazon We’re longtime Loungefly fans, and these are a few of our favorite hacks that we’ve picked up after years of carrying their bags around Disney World. We’ll report back with more of our top tips and tricks, so stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for the latest updates! View the full article

Disney… we are begging you to stop playing with our feelings right now! Cinderella Castle You took away Doctor Seeker, the Miss Piggy Fountain is gone forever, and Aerosmith left Hollywood Studios. We understood these changes, even if they made us sad. Now, Disney has taken away something subtle, but our hearts are BROKEN. Disney, we really can’t understand why you made this change. This news takes us into Fantasyland at Pinocchio Village Haus, where we unexpectedly had our worlds rocked today. If you don’t know, this quick service, which serves up flatbreads and more, has windows that look directly into the famous attraction “it’s a small world”! A snack in front of the “it’s a small world” window! These windows look directly into the ride so you can enjoy your bites while getting a new point of view of fun in Disney World. This is easily one of our favorite spots to sit in the restaurant because you can wave to the people below as they go on the happiest cruise ever. What was even MORE fun were the signs you could find at these tables! The signs! These signs gave riders below directions and silly prompts so you could interact with each other and make fun memories. We LOVED holding the signs up and seeing if other guests would play along. If you’ve noticed we’re talking in the past tense, it’s because Disney has permanently retired these signs! Here it is on the table! During a review today, our reporter asked the Cast Members where the signs were, and the Cast Member mentioned they were no longer available. Shocked, we proceeded to ask three more Cast Members to confirm. All four Cast Members confirmed the signs were gone forever. Some of the Cast Members mentioned that people had “taken” the signs, which caused problems with keeping them on the tables. They didn’t confirm if that is why Disney removed the signs for guests. CLAP if you’re sad! This was just one subtle way that Disney created magical interactions between guests, so we are seriously sad to see this go. We’re hoping that this won’t be forever and one day the interactive signs will return to the restaurant, but there is no indication of that at the time of writing. Luckily, the Blue Fairy’s Wishing Book is still there for guests to write their hopes, wishes, and dreams down if you want a magical, interactive moment in the restaurant. Pinocchio Village Haus We are just hoping that this is a temporary pause rather than a permanent removal. Disney Adults have very specific shopping habits. We can spend months debating the merits of a new Loungefly, but put a genuinely useful park-day gadget in front of us and suddenly it’s in the cart before you can say, “free shipping.” We love our essentials And right now, Amazon has quite a few things that immediately made us think, “Yep, Disney trip.” From the charger that can rescue multiple devices to the pillows that might make your own bedroom feel a little more like vacation, these are the Amazon finds Disney Adults should have on their radar this weekend. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. USB-C + Magnetic Charger Disney trips are basically an endurance test for your phone battery. Between checking wait times, taking approximately 600 photos of Cinderella Castle, mobile ordering lunch, and trying to figure out where everyone wandered off to, that battery percentage can disappear FAST. Anker 621 Magnetic Portable Charger We like that this charger gives you options. You can use USB-C or magnetic charging, which means fewer little technological headaches when you’re already trying to make a Lightning Lane on the other side of EPCOT. view ON AMAZON Hotel-Style Pillows You know THE hotel pillows. The ones that somehow convince you that your mattress at home has personally betrayed you. ©Amazon If returning from Disney has ever sent you on a quest to recreate that fluffy hotel-bed situation, these pillows belong on your list. Vacation is temporary. Dramatically improving your pillow arrangement can be forever. view ON AMAZON Comfy Walking Shoes There are some Disney purchases you can debate. Comfortable shoes are not one of them. A park day can mean miles and miles of walking, and by the time you’re limping toward the bus stop at night, those cute-but-questionable shoes from the morning will have revealed themselves as your enemy. ©Amazon Grab a comfortable pair here and, importantly, break them in BEFORE your vacation. view ON AMAZON Portable Noise Machine Disney hotel walls occasionally have a fascinating ability to introduce you to complete strangers. Kids running down the hallway. Doors closing. Someone apparently reorganizing a suitcase at midnight. Dreamegg Portable Travel White Noise Machine A portable noise machine can help turn all of that into somebody else’s problem while you get some much-needed sleep before rope drop. It’s also a tiny piece of sanity for families traveling with kids who are used to sleeping with white noise at home. view ON AMAZON Flat Extension Cord There are never enough outlets exactly where you need them. Someone needs to charge a phone. Someone else has a watch. There’s a portable battery involved. Maybe a sound machine. Suddenly your hotel room looks like Mission Control. Flat Plug Power Strip This flat extension cord makes sharing that limited outlet real estate much easier, and the flat design is particularly handy when space is tight. view ON AMAZON Loungefly Organizer Loungefly bags are adorable. The archaeological dig that sometimes happens inside them? Less adorable. This organizer gives everything a designated home, so you’re not elbow-deep in your backpack looking for lip balm while the person behind you in line quietly reevaluates all of their life choices. Loungefly Organizer For anyone who loves carrying a Loungefly in the parks but wants a little more structure inside, this is SUCH a smart addition. view ON AMAZON Frogg Toggs Poncho We own this one, and yes, it has survived the Disney World weather test. The Frogg Toggs poncho is lightweight, easy to carry, and comes with its own pouch, which is exactly what we want from something that may spend 90% of the vacation tucked inside a park bag. Frogg Toggs Poncho Then the Florida sky turns black at 3:17 PM, and suddenly it becomes the most important thing you packed. view ON AMAZON Our Amazon Carts Are Ready Disney Adults know that some of the best Disney purchases don’t actually have Mickey Mouse printed on them. They’re the things that make long park days easier, hotel rooms more comfortable, and rainy afternoons slightly less soggy. view OUR AMAZON STOREFRONT And keep checking back with us because we’re always hunting down the Disney finds actually worth making room for in your suitcase… and your Amazon cart. Six Flags Magic Mountain just announced the breathtaking details of a NEW record-breaking coaster that’s coming to the Valencia, California park. ©Six Flags The new coaster, Thrill Glider, is set to debut at the park next year. According to the park, the new hybrid coaster will combine motorbike-style seats (dubbed “hovercycles”) with a traditional suspended ride track that will traverse launches and inversions, including a zero-g roll and 12 airtime moments, at speeds reaching 50 mph. The Vekoma-designed coaster will set a series of records and industry firsts when it opens, including: World’s First Thrillglider World’s First Multi-Launch Thrillglider World’s Longest Thrillglider – 3,380 feet, which is more than half a mile World’s Fastest Thrillglider – 50 mph World’s Tallest Thrillglider – 107 feet Most Inversions on a Thrillglider – 5 Despite these record-breaking elements, the coaster will feature a minimum height requirement of just 48 inches, making it more accessible than some of the park’s other coasters for younger riders. In addition, Thrill Glider will also include an in-depth backstory that’s more fleshed out than most Six Flags attractions. The ride’s queue will place riders at the headquarters of “QuantumPulse Propulsion Systems,” a fictional technology company that discovers “PSR B417,” a “powerful new energy source with the potential to transform the future.” This “Futurist Pavilion” queue experience will feature displays and holographic exhibits designed to expand on and immerse guests in the attraction’s backstory. ©Six Flags Brian Oerding, park president of Six Flags Magic Mountain.said Thrill Glider is “more than a new attraction. It is the latest milestone in Six Flags Magic Mountain’s renaissance and a reflection of the park’s enduring role as an industry innovator.” ©Six Flags Thrill Glider will be the latest coaster to join Magic Mountain’s stacked lineup, which has led to the park being billed as the “Thrill Capital of the World.” Other well-known coasters at the park include The New Revolution, Goliath, Tatsu, Twisted Colossus, and Wonder Woman Flight of Courage, nearly all of which either currently hold world records or held them upon opening. ©Six Flags || Magic Mountain Thrill Glider is scheduled to open at Magic Mountain in 2027. When it comes to navigating a Disney World vacation, the most helpful tool you can have is the My Disney Experience app on your phone. The My Disney Experience app can do everything from opening your Disney World hotel room door to acting as your park ticket, as well as let you Mobile Order food, use Mobile Checkout when buying souvenirs, book Lightning Lanes, and so much more. My Disney Experience App That’s why we always want to give you a heads up when changes happen on the app. And we recently noticed a new change that we want to make you aware of. In the past, when you checked out a restaurant on the My Disney Experience app and clicked on “View Menu,” you’d get a long list of the menu items that you would have to scroll through to see what’s what. Well, Disney World has redesigned that part of the app so that when you view a menu, it’s broken down into sections. ©Disney All you have to do is click on the little arrow or section name, and the app then shows you a dropdown of everything under that section. Yes, the menus are a little better organized and much easier to read now! ©Disney This might not seem like a MAJOR change, but if you want to look at something specific like entrees or desserts available at a restaurant, it’s a lot easier to find what you need. You no longer have to keep scrolling through the long menu list to find those sections. ©Disney Now, more big changes will be coming to My Disney Experience this year. The app will soon include a trip checklist, an AI-powered search, and updated booking tools. We can’t wait to try out these new tools for ourselves. In the meantime, we’ll keep you updated on other app changes, so stay tuned to DFB for more. Disney fans have been waiting for Villains Land for YEARS, as rumors of the land have been circulating since the late 1990s! ©Disney Due to that intense anticipation, misinformation about the land (which was officially announced in 2024) has run a bit rampant. Now, it’s time to debunk some of these rumors as more details about the land have come into focus. The Land Wasn’t Redesigned with an Emperor’s New Groove Attraction Earlier in 2026, rumors spread that major changes had been made to the then-yet-to-be-announced master plan of the land. Back in February, Wired reported that then-incoming Disney CEO Josh D’Amaro had instructed Imagineers to rethink the land, including reporting that the long-rumored Maleficent coaster was “being converted to a more family-friendly coaster, along the lines of Slinky Dog Dash at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, this time themed to The Emperor’s New Groove.” ©Disney That rumor was completely debunked at D23, when Disney not only confirmed that a thrilling coaster based on Maleficent would be the land’s central attraction, but they also showed off a massive model of the coaster, with its scale… ©Disney … twists and turns… ©Disney … and landscaping all on full display. ©Disney The Land WON’T be Connected to the Haunted Mansion Given the proximity of parts of Villains Land — which is being built “beyond Big Thunder Mountain” in former backstage areas — to the Haunted Mansion, as well as the fact that both areas will share similar “spooky” aesthetics, there was a belief amongst some that the land and Mansion would be connected. However, models of the area don’t show any direct connection. The Haunted Mansion In addition, the land’s storyline was revealed at D23, and it’s not related to the Haunted Mansion. According to Disney’s newly released story synopsis for the area, Villains Land will offer an “original take” on the company’s antagonists, set in a “vast, foreboding forest.” Guests who enter will come across a Wishing Well that’s been torn asunder by a wish so “evil it corrupted the stone and broke open the structure, spreading the Well’s poisoned magic throughout the forest.” This release of poisoned magic will, in turn, draw in “villains who have come here to try and claim the last of the Wishing Well’s power.” An engrossing storyline with tons of potential, but nothing about it seems related to the mansion. ©Disney The Magic Mirror Dark Ride is NOT a Boat Ride In addition to the coaster, Disney announced a second major attraction for Villains Land: A dark ride featuring a cavalcade of Disney Villains in which the Magic Mirror will “magically transport (guests) into his mystical Mirror Realm to see things on the other side of the mirror. There, in his ethereal realm, (guests) will be transfixed by countless Disney Villains conjured in ways only the Magic Mirror can do. A combination of special effects and physical set pieces will bring his Mirror Realm.” ©Disney When looking at the above concept art, many jumped to the conclusion that the attraction was a boat ride, given the appearance of the vehicle and the fact that it appeared to be “floating.” However, upon closer inspection, the vehicle actually appears to be similar to those on Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure, the screen-based dark ride at Tokyo DisneySea’s Fantasy Springs. I’m FLYING! There’s No Announced Cruella de Vil Ride During the Villains Land portion of the D23 Horizons panel, Glenn Close made an in-character appearance as Cruella, reprising her role from the 1990s live-action 101 Dalmatians films. During the bit, Close as Cruella joked about “her ride” in Villains Land. That led some viewers to believe that there was a full Cruella-themed ride announced for the land; however, that’s not the case. Disney’s Villains Land is finally becoming a reality in the Magic Kingdom, and with each piece of official information released about the land, older rumors are being debunked. Another closure has hit Disneyland Resort, but it may not be one you were expecting. Broken Spell Lounge Inside the Disneyland Hotel, you’ll find a spot that has seen many different versions of lounges over the years. Currently, you’ll find the Broken Spell Lounge here, which opened back in late 2025. However, if you were hoping to stop by on your upcoming trip, that just got much harder. The Disneyland website currently lists the Broken Spell Lounge as closed for refurbishment. No reopening date has been listed at this time, and currently the lounge remains closed through as far as the calendar goes right now, which is October 23rd. ©Disney Broken Spell Lounge is inspired by the Disney animated film Sleeping Beauty, and that’s shown throughout the theming of the space. When open, you can grab small bites like the dry-rub chicken wings, classic Caesar salad, savoury steak frites, and molten chocolate cake, as well as glasses of wine and special cocktails like the Old Fashioned or Black Thorn Bramble. Benevolent Faerie at Broken Spell Lounge If you’ll be near the Disneyland Hotel and are looking for other spots to check out, we recommend Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar for an incredibly immersive experience, the Palm Breeze Bar, as well as Tangaroa Terrace Tropical Bar & Grill. There are tons of ways to explore Disney World! After Hours at Magic Kingdom You can check out the theme parks, search around the resorts, and have fun at Disney Springs! You can even explore the theme parks after they close thanks to Disney’s After Hours events. Disney recently confirmed tons of exciting news about After Hours in 2027, but we noticed a few things were missing as well… After Hours are BACK in Disney World! This extra ticketed event gives you time in the parks after dark with low crowds, short lines, and endless snacks to indulge in. In 2027, confirmed After Hours Events will be hosted in EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Magic Kingdom. It’s at Magic Kingdom where we’re noticing a few changes. Wristband for After Hours in Magic Kingdom In 2027, there are two missing perks that we think you need to know about. The first missing perk impacts everyone going to the Magic Kingdom events because there is no mention of the Disney Enchantment Fireworks show! Disney Enchantment Fireworks In previous years, After Hours guests could watch both Happily Ever After and Disney Enchantment if they wanted extra entertainment throughout their evening. On Disney’s website, they wrote, “When you arrive early, you’ll have extra time to enjoy attractions and entertainment. Plus, you can witness the charm of Happily Ever After, the nighttime spectacular at Magic Kingdom park!” That means we’re getting half the fireworks next year. Happily Ever After While we love Happily Ever After, you can see it daily in Magic Kingdom (depending on weather). Disney Enchantment is a retired fireworks spectacular, and we loved that select guests could experience it at this event. This could also impact your planning if you want to check out nighttime entertainment, so plan accordingly. After Hours at Magic Kingdom The second missing perk is that there are NO discounts available for Magic Kingdom’s After Hours events. If you’re a Disney Vacation Club Member or an Annual Passholder, you can get discounted tickets to After Hours events at EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, but not Magic Kingdom. No crowds during After Hours in Magic Kingdom! In the past, these two groups could get discounted tickets to this event, so this is a pretty big change if you’re planning to head in late at night. If you’re interested in attending the event, you should know that Magic Kingdom After Hours runs from 10 PM to 1 AM each event night. Currently, Disney has confirmed After Hours for: January 11th January 18th February 1st February 8th February 15th February 22nd March 4th March 8th March 15th April 5th April 12th April 26th May 17th May 24th June 14th June 21th June 28th July 15th July 19th Empty lands during After Hours! Attractions that will be open include: TRON Lightcycle / Run Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Haunted Mansion Peter Pan’s Flight Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin And more! After Hours Event at Magic Kingdom You also get access to free drinks, popcorn, ice cream bars, and more! These are some of our favorite evenings in Magic Kingdom, although we will miss those rare fireworks. Be sure to keep following DFB for more Disney news, updates, changes, and more. Disney World has been full of changes lately, and they aren’t slowing down anytime soon, especially when it comes to their hotels, and this winter is no different. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort If you’re traveling to Disney World this winter, keep these 10 changes in mind, so you aren’t met with any surprises and can have a smooth and worry-free vacation! The Grand Floridian’s Famous Gingerbread House Is No Longer Earlier this year, Disney announced that the Grand Floridian’s famous gingerbread house (like, literally the size of a house) would not return this year. This tradition began in 1999, so we were devastated to hear that this holiday decoration would not be available for the first time in over 25 years (with the exception of it not being available last year due to construction in the lobby). 2024 Grand Floridian Gingerbread House Instead, the resort will feature a few small ones scattered throughout the hotel, and they will still be made by Disney’s culinary team. Disney has yet to announce what they are doing with the gingerbread displays in other resorts, but we expect displays like the gingerbread carousel… 2025 Beach Club Carousel …and the gingerbread castle to return. We’ll keep you updated with any information released about these holiday displays. Contemporary Resort Gingerbread Castle “Another Piece of Magic Taken Away.” Fans Are Devastated By the Loss of This Beloved Disney World Tradition Renovations Continue At Grand Floridian Resort & Spa Speaking of the Grand Floridian, work will continue in select areas of the resort through early 2027, including the resort’s covered entrance. Guests may notice construction activity or noise during daytime hours, and some areas may require guests to use alternate routes while the work is in progress. Grand Floridian Resort & Spa Room Prices Revealed: How Much a Christmas Stay at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort Costs This Year The Skyliner Is Closed For Maintenance A Week In January Each year, the Skyliner goes under maintenance, and it tends to happen toward the end of January. Disney is sticking with that timeline, as the Skyliner will be closed from January 24th through January 30th. During this time, buses at the Skyliner resorts will be available to bring guests to and from Hollywood Studios and EPCOT. The Skyliner resorts include Art of Animation, Pop Century, Caribbean Beach, and Riviera. Disney Skyliner The Rare Skyliner Route CHANGE You Need to Know About If You’re Staying at Disney’s Riviera Resort The All-Star Movies Rooms Are Getting A Refresh Guest rooms at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort will be undergoing refurbishment through January 2027. During this time, guests may notice construction activity, including noise, in the area. Some walking paths may also be temporarily closed, with alternate routes available. All-Star Movies The SECRET Way to Make Your Disney’s All-Star Hotel Room Feel Totally Different Animal Kingdom Lodge Rooms Are Under Refurbishment Like the other resorts on this list, the guest rooms at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge are also undergoing refurbishment. Room refurbishments at Kidani Village were completed in May 2026, but work at Jambo House is still ongoing and is expected to continue through January 2027. Jambo House Construction REVIEW: If You’ll Excuse Us, We’ll Be Dreaming About These Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Pool Bar Eats Disney’s Beach Club Resort Is Doing Exterior Maintenance Disney’s Beach Club Resort is currently undergoing visible exterior maintenance through late 2027. During this time, guests may notice construction work and hear noise in the area during daytime hours. The work may also impact views from various areas of the resort, and some walking paths may be temporarily closed with alternate routes available. Beach Club Exterior Maintenance If This Secret Gets Out, Nobody Will Stay at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Again The BoardWalk Inn Pool Will Be Closed For A Portion Several amenities at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn will be closed for routine maintenance from January 11th, 2027, through April 2027. This includes the Luna Park Pool, Luna Park Crazy Play Area, and Leaping Horse Libations. Guests can still enjoy the Villas Pool and Inn Pool, which will remain open. Disney’s BoardWalk Inn There’s a NEW Exclusive Perk at the Disney World BoardWalk You May Hear Construction At Coronado Springs Refurbishment work at Disney’s Coronado Springs Convention Center is expected to continue through late September 2027. The project will also include the El Centro Corridor and nearby areas of the resort. Since the work will be completed in phases, certain spaces may be temporarily unavailable throughout the refurbishment. To limit disruptions for guests, construction will primarily take place overnight. Coronado Springs REVIEW: If You Haven’t Visited This Disney World Lounge, We Know Where You NEED To Go Construction At The Contemporary Will Occur In Phases Disney’s Contemporary Resort will undergo refurbishment work in phases across select areas through late 2027. The project includes both Bay Lake Tower and the Main Tower atrium. Exterior maintenance on the Main Tower may affect views from certain areas of the resort, and guests may need to use alternate walking paths during this time. Disney’s Contemporary Resort I Found the Perfect Room at Disney’s Contemporary Resort — Here’s How to Get It Renovations Continue at Port Orleans Resort – Riverside Guest room renovations at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside are expected to continue through August 2027. With so many construction projects happening around Disney World, we wouldn’t blame you if you’re rolling your eyes at another one. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Construction is the only way we’ll get new things in the parks, though, so we totally get it, but all the walls and closures do really start to drag you down when you start seeing them everywhere. Alas, it looks like a Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort spot could be undergoing construction soon, which could mean this long-forgotten spot could finally be coming back to life. Tangaroa Terrace is a building separate from the Great Ceremonial Hall at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. For years, this spot has been closed to the public, but a new permit has just been filed that could put it back on the map for guests. In fact, it’s been forgotten for so long that when you pull up Tangaroa Terrace, you’ll only find the location at the Disneyland Hotel on the West Coast — don’t be fooled; that one is still operating just fine! Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort It’s had many roles over the years, such as a buffet, the Neverland Club (the resort’s kids’ club) back around 2014, and most recently has been used as a Cast Member break area. Now, Disney has just filed a new permit for the area that’s in effect until December 31st, 2027, which is a LONG time for a permit to be in use. Typically, we see them around a year long, so the fact that this one is a few months longer is quite the change. New permit! The permit is for “General Conditions,” which doesn’t give us a lot of information to go off of. The contractor is Keenan Hopkins Schmidt and Stowell (KHS&S Contractors), and according to their website, they are leading specialty interior and exterior contractors that create spectacular interiors, exteriors, prefabricated building components, themed environments, rockwork, and specialty finishes for many large projects in Florida, Texas, and New Jersey. The full permit This certainly sounds like the area could be getting a major upgrade, which we’re hoping means it’ll become an area open to guests once again. We have a feeling it would be VERY popular, especially if it brings back an option for kids! More Recent Disney Hotel News! DoubleTree Suites Further amenities include a heated pool, whirlpool, splash pad, tennis court, a fitness center, an on-site restaurant, a daily breakfast buffet, room service, pool and lobby bars, free Wi-Fi, and more. In addition, there’s shuttle service to Disney World’s theme parks, and the hotel is within comfortable walking distance to Disney Springs. Early Entry at Disney’s Hollywood Studios So, let’s talk price: We compared a three-night stay at the DoubleTree Suites for the weekend of September 11th through the 13th, with checkout on the morning of the 14th… ©DoubleTree … with the same stay in a comparable room at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort. ©Disney As you can see, the stay cost about $100 less per night… ©DoubleTree … which would end up saving just about $300 overall. ©Disney You can use those savings to dine in style at Disney World. Our Guide to Disney World Dining pulls it all together so you can stop stressing and focus on the fun without feeling like you’re missing a thing! Perfect! Disney, are you trying to pull a fast one on us right now? ©Disney Right now, Disney is working on tons of projects like the upcoming Villains Land, Monstropolis Land, a new hotel, and more! While most of these projects won’t be open for a while, one of the biggest was supposed to open in 2027. That being said, Disney might have just quietly removed that opening timeline. Here’s what we know! So, Disney, what’s going on here? Recently, we noticed that the language on the Tropical Americas page has CHANGED. Previously, the website read “Get ready to journey to an 11-acre, immersive land in 2027. This Village of Hope will feature an exciting Encanto attraction, an action-packed Indiana Jones attraction, a woodcarver-themed carousel and more.” Now the updated language has removed any mention of 2027. ©Disney Does this mean Disney is pushing back that opening timeline? It might. We aren’t entirely convinced, though! There are still several places around the Disney World site that include the original opening timeline. For example, on the Disney Experiences site, the main page of the site details all of Disney’s upcoming projects. On this page, it still says, “set to open in 2027.” ©Disney Is Disney still set to open this new land next year? We will assume yes until the company says otherwise. We never assumed the land would open early in the year, so we’re hoping that Disney can still meet the end-of-year deadline even if it’s by December 31st, 2027. (We’re really hoping it won’t be that late, though!) The new entrance archway! Construction on the land is moving quickly with this project. We’ve seen the entranceway come to life, the new attractions grow, and more. That being said, it is still a lot of dirt right now, but that doesn’t mean they can’t reach that 2027 timeline. A better view Currently, Disney has also shared that Monstropolis will open in 2027 (although the coaster will open at a later date), and that area is a lot of dirt right now too! Just because it doesn’t look like too much right now doesn’t mean they can’t be ready in time for 2027. ©bioreconstruct from September 2026 We still have hope that we can check out the Tropical Americas next year, when Disney said it would originally open, but for now there are some questions in the air. The new land could open on time with one of (or both of) the main attractions experiencing a delayed opening, similar to Monstropolis. At the time of writing, Disney has not indicated that this will take place. Some of the latest permits for the land have indicated an April 2027 completion date on the work, meaning a spring or summer 2027 opening could be possible. That being said, permits can be changed or extended as needed. ©Disney The new land will include an Encanto attraction, an Indiana Jones attraction, a character carousel, a large quick service, and more! We are closely watching for more updates on the land, and you can be sure we will keep you fully updated. As always, be sure to keep following DFB for more Disney news, updates, and more! WWE and Disney are coming together for something big in 2027! ©Disney At the Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology Conference, TKO President and COO Mark Shapiro revealed that the two companies are discussing “special events.” It sounds like we’re going to be getting a lot more WWE on Disney+. Let’s take a look at the details! It was revealed that in 2027, WWE is going to be working more closely with Disney to reach a wider family audience. “When it comes to going after families, that’s our audience,” Shapiro said. “I think advertisers are starting to see that.” ©ESPN He then continued by saying, “Frankly, I’m excited about 2027 as we’re working with the Walt Disney Company on some special events around Disney and WWE and bringing those two audiences together since, of course, what do they have in common? Family.” ©Disney As of right now, there have been no specific format or event details announced as of right now. However, the comments made by Mark Shapiro confirm that there have been discussions between WWE and Disney, and continue to be. ©ESPN WWE and ESPN are entering the second year of a five-year domestic media rights agreement under which WWE Premium Live Events air exclusively on ESPN Unlimited in the United States. With Disney owning ESPN, the foundation is already there in terms of the relationship. ESPN Wide World of Sports As for right now, the plans for a future crossover are still in talks, but it sounds like they’re progressing. We’ll have to see if the WWE and Disney eventually turn those discussions into dedicated family-focused events. There’s a chance that 2027 could be a big year for the partnership. Listen, you guys, I’ve seen my fair share of bufoonery and monkey business and even crime in Tiny Train Town in Disney World, but never did I think folks would stoop this low! It’s a DISASTER! As the Mayor of the Tiny Train Town in the Germany Pavilion at EPCOT, I’m here to report to you a crime so heinous that it makes me sick to my stomach. We must find the culprit and apprehend them…I need your help! As you may recall, there was recently a HUGE update to Tiny Train Town, with a redesign of the town square, new buildings throughout the village, and many locations and figurines based on Disney movies and iconic parks characters. Shortly after, the town got an update for the Food & Wine Festival, complete with tiny food booths. It was incredible. Perfect. Wonderful. But then someone went and RUINED IT. The town had some changes recently! I’m here in despair to report that some of the absolute best new figurines in our miniature village have gone missing! And according to a Disney Cast Member, there is foul play involved. That’s right, park visitors have STOLEN some beloved Disney characters and I will not stand for it! Folks are MISSING And you know who exactly they’ve taken? The first victim is Dreamfinder, who was previously standing directly in front of this building. Listen folks, I know that Dreamfinder is coming back to EPCOT in the future, but that doesn’t mean you can have the tiny version of him all to yourself! He’s a joy to the public and deserves his spot of prominence for all to enjoy. Dreamfinder is gone! The other poor soul that has gone missing is the love of my life, Dr. Grant Seeker! You may recall him from the pre-show of DINOSAUR in Animal Kingdom (RIP). He was last seen in the town square, dino egg in hand. Now he has disappeared into the ether and my heart has been ripped out of my chest. I am SICK with worry! Dr. Seeker has been TAKEN Thankfully, police are on the scene investigating these disappearances. We’re collecting all the clues we can find. If you have any information about this robbery/kidnapping/heinous crime, please come forward and turn in the dastardly villain responsible. And you (yes, you, the thief) if you’re reading this, you are despicable! I hope your socks are always soggy, your pillow is always lumpy, and you never get the song you want on Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. Why must you ruin good things for other people?! The police are here! For more Tiny Train Town updates, keep following along with DFB! * The anarchy within is mostly created by natural occurrences, like giant squirrels, wind, rain, and relatively godzilla-sized lizards who frequent the town; but we find it fun and entertaining to make up fictional stories about what COULD be happening. We are grateful to the folks who create and maintain this Tiny Train Town for Disney World, as it’s one of our favorite parts of EPCOT and always has been. Halloween Horror Nights is OFFICIALLY underway at Universal Orlando, but it’s not just Universal Studios park that goes all out for this once-a-year event! Universal Orlando Halloween That’s right, even Universal Orlando hotels get decked out for spooky season, and some of them even have themed bars, drinks, eats, and the whole nine yards. We were invited by Universal to check out some of the Halloween offerings at their hotels, and we think we know where we’ll be spending spooky season from now on. Come check out everything we did! Halloween Horror Nights isn’t the only place at Universal Orlando to celebrate Halloween, as each of Universal’s hotels (aside from Helios Grand) features a special spooky offering that you don’t even need a park ticket or hotel reservation to enjoy. We stopped by the Royal Pacific Hotel’s Laguna Lounge — and this is the Halloween tiki bar of our dreams! Look who’s serving drinks! This limited-time lounge has taken over Jake’s American Bar and features a ton of Universal Monsters theming, plus Halloween drinks and food, too. If you are a Universal Monsters fan, this tiki bar is for you. It was so fun to see favorite Universal Monsters characters around the bar and disguised as tiki characters. Jake’s American Bar has been transformed We tried the Blood Moon Spritzer, which was a cool presentation; overall, it tasted like plain prosecco, with hard pomegranate seeds. It was refreshing but probably a skip if you’re looking for something more exciting. Blood Moon Spritzer The Black Sand Margarita was delicious, and it tasted like they used fresh ingredients, very orange-forward; we definitely would get this again as it was one of our favorite drinks of the afternoon. Black Sand Margarita The Spiced Island Spirit Mule mostly tasted like cinnamon and orange club soda, but it had a ton of fall flavors we really liked. Spiced Island Spirit Mule The Haunted Hideaway Buffalo Dip was absolutely delicious: creamy, cheesy, and the perfect amount of spice. They smoke the chicken, which gives the dip a nice smoky flavor that balances everything out nicely. The tortilla chips were nice and salty like any other tortilla chip, but they complemented the dip nicely. Haunted Hideaway Buffalo Dip The Kettle Chips were house-made kettle chips, crunchy and fresh, with a little bit of salt and pepper. Delicious, but again, nothing to write home about. These are served with the Cursed Luau Burger. Kettle Chips You can also order Halloween Horror Nights-themed food and drinks to your hotel room for room service at the Royal Pacific Hotel! Over at the Aventura Hotel, we headed to barVentura to see their Halloween offerings. The theming here wasn’t quite as elaborate as the theming at Royal Pacific, but it was still fun! There was an overall alien theme, and many of the food and drink offerings followed that theme as well. Aventura Hotel theming We tried the Alien Abduction, which was very Chambord-forward, while the vanilla flavor from the vodka is very subtle, with a bubbly berry flavor throughout each sip. This reminded us of a white bubbly sangria, and it was light and refreshing. Alien Abduction The Caffeinated Coven tasted like a very strong pumpkin foam cold brew in the best way. The flavor was delicious, with the perfect amount of cinnamon and pumpkin. The foam on top was a nice change from a traditional creamy espresso martini; it melts into the drink beautifully. Caffeinated Coven Resort guests also have a special, dedicated entrance to Halloween Horror Nights, which is just another reason why staying at Universal hotels during Halloween Horror Nights is an amazing option. Halloween Horror Nights We’ll be on the lookout for even more spooky season news you need to know about at Universal Orlando and beyond. If you’re a big coaster fan, you’re not alone here — our team has some serious thrill junkies! ©Courtesy of American Coaster Enthusiasts One of the best places to go for big thrills are the Six Flags parks across the U.S. These amusement parks often have record-breaking rides with major drops, cool inversions, and high speeds. And if you’re a frequent Six Flags visitor, you may want to be on the lookout for a kind-of-new coaster! Six Flags Entertainment Corp. announced in a press release on Tuesday, September 8th that it has acquired the popular ArieForce One coaster from Fun Spot America’s Atlanta location. Six Flags describes the ride as “the celebrated steel roller coaster that captured the imagination of thrill-seekers around the world and quickly earned recognition as one of the most acclaimed coaster experiences of the modern era.” ©Courtesy of American Coaster Enthusiasts This attraction will be coming to one of Six Flags’ parks in the 2028-2029 season, though it has not yet been revealed which park it will be. ArieForce One was named for Fun Spot founder John Arie Sr. and was a hit among coaster enthusiasts for the three years it resided in Atlanta. Thrill junkies traveled across the country to ride it and experience its “signature blend of speed, airtime, inversions and nonstop intensity.” The ride closed at Fun Spot America Atlanta back in August. ©Courtesy of American Coaster Enthusiasts “From the moment ArieForce One closed, we knew how much this coaster meant to the enthusiast community and to guests who traveled from around the world to experience it,” said Mark Pauls, chief operating officer of Six Flags. “This is a ride that consistently generated excitement, acclaim and passionate fan support. We are thrilled to preserve its legacy, invest in its future and bring this extraordinary attraction to a new generation of guests. This acquisition represents our commitment to delivering world-class thrills and creating unforgettable experiences across the Six Flags portfolio.” ©Courtesy of American Coaster Enthusiasts Of course, we’ll be following this story to see where the coaster lands in a few years, and we’ll let you know when it gets an official opening date. One big change has been rolling out around Disney World recently. Do you know what it is? Disney’s Hollywood Studios If you guessed the new trash cans, you would be correct! In recent weeks, the Disney parks have been updating trash cans pair by pair to introduce new, solar-powered models. These high-tech cans have been a bit controversial among trash can die-hard fans so far, and now they’ve arrived in a new spot. The first sets of new trash cans have now arrived in Hollywood Studios! We spotted a pair of these solar-powered compacting cans on Hollywood Boulevard, right before you enter the new Walt Disney Studios area. This is a high-traffic zone, so it makes sense that they’d add some of these updated cans here. They’re in Hollywood Studios! Each set of these trash cans that we’ve seen have been themed to the area where they reside. These say “Please Help Keep Our City Clean” and feature a graphic of the Chinese Theatre, so they definitely have that Hollywood vibe going on. They’re bright green, so you can’t miss them! What do you think? As we mentioned before, these trash cans are solar powered so that they can compact the trash inside, meaning Cast Members can empty them less frequently. They also have foot pedals to open the doors, so you don’t have to touch the opening with your hands. New trash cans! We’ve already seen these cans in Animal Kingdom and EPCOT. They caused a particular stir in EPCOT for longtime festival fans, since eating on a trash can during EPCOT festivals is kind of a Disney fan rite of passage. Some more uniquely-designed trash cans in Disney World have also gotten their own “fan clubs” so swapping them out has resulted in angry commentary on social media. Disney World is a BIG place, and that means that it takes a lot of work to keep it up and running in tip-top shape. While seeing construction on your trip can take you out of the magic a little bit, it ultimately leads to new improvements that enhance the overall vacation experience. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort And, sure, construction can certainly complicate things, but that’s why we keep up with all of the projects so you can be prepared ahead of your next trip. Over at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, there’s a new way to enter by car, and it can be a little confusing if you’re not prepared for it. Here’s everything we know! The Grand Floridian hotel has a new entrance — sort of. The actual entrance gate is the same, but instead of using the southern roundabout on Floridan Way to get there, guests are rerouted to the northern roundabout. There is a “Grand Floridian Turn Right” sign before the roundabout, but it can be confusing if you don’t know what you’re looking for. Grand Floridian entrance gate There is still quite a bit of construction, especially near the new roundabouts and the entrance gates themselves. While you can enter through the normal, main gate, the exit is blocked off, and guests are being rerouted to a different exit. When we spoke to a Cast Member in the lobby of the Grand Floridian, they said that the northern roundabout will be the new entrance, and that they are hoping for the construction to be complete by mid-October. You can see on this view of Apple Maps of the area that it states construction will be complete by October 22nd. Of course, this could change, and we’ll keep you updated on any news we find out. ©Apple The new Floridian Way roundabouts were constructed in conjunction with updates to World Drive, designed to improve traffic control around Magic Kingdom and the Magic Kingdom resort area. As of now, the construction might be making things a bit more complicated, but hopefully when it’s all done, these traffic improvements will finally come to fruition. There’s also some Monorail construction going on at the Grand Floridian, but luckily the Monorail is still running to this resort — if that changes, we’ll let you know! Grand Floridian Monorail station construction We’ll be on the lookout for additional updates about this construction and more Disney World hotel news.
