There are some Disney World trends we’re simply in love with. Duck Duck Razz One of those trends is the “tiny toy animals in our drinks” trend that we’ve seen a LOT in the past few years. Of course, it all started with the iconic Duck Duck Razz drink at The Boathouse, but now it’s so much more than that. We’ve seen tiny animals in beverages over and over again, and if you’re as obsessed as we are, then these are some you need to check out. Well, outside of The Boathouse, two other restaurants have jumped on this trend fairly hard. The Polite Pig has leaned heavily into its namesake, including tiny toy pigs on top of two different beverages now. This one is called The Pig Lagoon, made with lemon, lime, coconut cream, and blue Curacao syrup. Look at the little piggy! There was also the adorable Pigsty, made with cappuccino, chocolate, and spiced rum. This one was designed to look like a pig wallowing in mud! Pigsty However, the restaurant that has REALLY gone above and beyond with this trend is eet by Maneet Chauhan. The Indian fast casual spot has continued releasing new “tiny animal drinks” every season, and we are loving them so much. First, there was the Hank’s Gulf Coast Sunset with a miniature octopus — ours had a top hat and a mustache. A MUSTACHE, YOU GUYS!!! Hank’s Gulf Coast Sunset Perhaps even more adorable was the Dragon’s Breath, which they described as “a slushy made with our house-crafted dragon mist lemonade, passionfruit rum, and a touch of dragon fruit sugar from our neighbors at Spice & Tea Exchange Lake Buena Vista.” Dragon’s Breath More recently, we’ve had the Queen Bee, which was topped with a teeny tiny little black-and-yellow bee. Queen Bee Of course, we haven’t just been limited to animals. For Valentine’s Day, there was the Love Potion 67, topped with a mini cupcake. Love Potion 67 The Monster Mash-tini for Halloween was a quirky surprise. This was a little monster in a firefighter uniform — another great addition to our collection. It was a frozen green appletini with green apple vodka and a caramel drizzle. He’s so cute! The most chill little guy of the bunch is clearly The Penguin Club, which had a rockstar penguin in sunglasses with a guitar. The drink was made with coconut rum, blue curacao, pineapple juice, and cream of coconut. It was the perfect mid-winter drink since it looked like a penguin in the Arctic. The Penguin Club And we can’t forget the Gnome Place Like Home, which was a warm spiced cocktail with a little garden gnome on top. He’s precious! Gnome Place Like Home The most recent version was the Summer Paws, which includes a tiny little tiger. The twist here, though, is that the tiger is plush and therefore does NOT go inside the drink. You’ll just have to hold him on the side! Hooray for new friends! So, it seems that if you’re on the hunt for some tiny souvenirs that will fit easily in your suitcase, you need to go drink a few novelty beverages in Disney Springs. Part of what makes Disney’s theme parks so special has always been their cross-generational appeal. After all, according to legend, part of Walt Disney’s drive to build Disneyland was to have a place where parents and children could have fun together. However, while the parks do bring different generations together, those generations also have their own VERY distinct opinions, as we recently learned yet again. Welcome to Magic Kingdom Recently, we took to our Facebook page to ask our readers, “What’s a Disney trend that you HATE??” We also requested that they not hold back in the comments, and y’all certainly listened. Let’s begin with a relatively nice one, as reader Alicia backed up our above point about cross-generational appeal, writing, “The myth that ‘Disney is just for kids.’ Walt built the parks for people of all ages!” Prince Charming Royal Carrousel Reader Stephen brought up some issues with younger guests, writing, “Recording the entire show on your phone, kids on shoulders for fireworks, and stopping multiple times to take a selfie in queues.” Happily Ever After Christy took a similar issue with technology users in the park, writing, “Visitors walking with their phones stretched out in front of themselves, experiencing everything through the camera screen. Take 5 or 6 photos of your group, then put the phone away and BE PRESENT. You don’t need people to get out of your way so you can get a picture of the entrance to “it’s a small world”. You can find that image online, along with ten billion other photos and videos of Disney doors, windows, signs, etc. There is a new walk-through video of every park on YouTube just about every day. You don’t have to spend the whole vacation documenting.” “it’s a small world” Reader Kaitie took aim at those who drink alcohol in the parks, writing in part, “Drinking around the world, bar crawls, etc. While many adults can and do drink responsibly, there are so many who clearly can’t. Share your drinks, have a snack INSTEAD of a drink, have a mocktail. Doing these things does not mean you “cheated” on your bar crawl, it means you stand less chance of becoming an obnoxious, or worse, aggressive, guest.” Collective Arts Brewing Grapefruit Lime Sour Kathy, who identified themselves as a Cast Member, shared, “…people who don’t respect our wildlife. People who let their children jump at or chase any of our wildlife. Newsflash-that’s their home. I have names for all the wildlife at my work location. I will protect them. Even the bird that pooped on my lip.” Ducks! Other topics that were mentioned by numerous readers included influencers, pin traders, “most expensive day ever” shirts, guests who loudly recite preshow or ride dialogue, queue jumpers, Crocs, and guests who engage in “Pixie-Dusting” — AKA the act of gifting other guests small trinkets, etc. Hey Eeyore! Let’s wrap up with reader Bridget, who took a different tack, writing, “I love it all! I like everyone to have their own fun as long as their fun doesn’t interfere with mine.” ©Disney These are just some of the literal thousands of responses we received. Let’s talk about candy stores, shall we? Now, we know Disney World has some quality confectioneries and candy stores in the parks, but you can also find just about any kind of sweet you’re craving at Goofy’s Candy Company in Disney Springs. Disney recently revealed that new snacks would be coming to Goofy’s Candy Company soon, and lo and behold, those snacks have arrived. Orange Bird Popcorn Mix So you know how The Confectionary in Magic Kingdom has the Kernel Kitchen where you can get all the fun mix-and-match popcorn mixes, including ones you can mix yourself? Well, Goofy’s has those now, too! But here’s the thing: there are two EXCLUSIVE popcorn mixes you can only get at Goofy’s, so we grabbed one to try it out! Here’s the thing: you can make your own popcorn mixes using three different flavors of popcorn, three different sauces, and a variety of toppings, just like you can in Magic Kingdom. However, you can also get some pre-made popcorn mixes, including two that are exclusive to Goofy’s Candy Company, including a peanut butter pretzel mix made with caramel popcorn with pretzel pieces, mini peanut butter chips, chopped peanuts, and dark chocolate drizzle. Exclusive to Disney Springs! You can also get an Orange Bird popcorn mix with orange citrus-flavored candy popcorn with mini marshmallows, fruity candy bits, white chocolate drizzle, and orange candy slices. We HAD to try the Orange Bird Mix. OBVIOUSLY. For science. Now, here’s a note: the orange citrus flavor is EXCLUSIVE to Goofy’s Candy Company. One thing that surprised us is how much of that citrus flavor you get. The popcorn is candied in a citrus sugar glaze with something that tastes almost like Orange Fanta. So, it’s sweet and tangy. There it is! The candied popcorn offers a nice sticky texture that doesn’t stick to the teeth, and we were happy the white chocolate glaze didn’t overpower the flavor because there’s enough sweet stuff already going on. There are just enough bits of candy, and the mini marshmallows add a nice tenderness. Honestly, we were surprised because we expected something sickeningly sweet, and it really isn’t. However, this is one of those things that you probably don’t want to sit and eat all at once…but that’s why the container comes with a lid. It surprised us! Be sure to stop by Goofy’s Candy Company and check out these new mixes or make your own. Meanwhile, we’ll be back with even more Disney news and food reviews, so stay tuned to DFB for more. Summer in Disney World is not for the weak, and if you’ve spent even a few hours in the parks during the season, you know exactly what we mean. A sunny day in Hollywood Studios! However, summer is often the best time for many families to head to the park for vacation, since kids are out of school, which means braving the heat is often the only choice. While everyone deals with the heat differently and needs various things to succeed, the fact of the matter is that there are a few essentials that we’ve learned are DEFINITELY needed to survive a summer day in Disney World, no matter who you are. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. A Poncho That Won’t Tear in Two Seconds FROGG TOGGS Poncho Summer means a LOT of rain in Orlando. It gets so hot during the day, it’s pretty typical for a rainstorm or thunderstorm to come in the mid-afternoon. Lots of people choose to leave the park and come back later in the day once the rain has passed, and we totally get that, but it also means you may miss out on some of the lowest wait times of the day, so instead, we recommend grabbing a FROGG TOGGS Poncho and toughing it out! So many other ponchos, especially Disney World ponchos, are wildly expensive, yet will tear in seconds, or cling to your body so much and create an obscene amount of humidity that you’ll feel like you’re baking in an oven. This poncho doesn’t do that. It’s durable, lightweight, does its job keeping you dry, and it comes with its own bag, so it’s easy to pack back up after using. Grab on Amazon An Umbrella That Won’t Let You Down BAODINI Travel Essentials Mini Umbrella If you’re not a poncho person for whatever reason, we get it. They’re not for everyone, but we still recommend having something that will keep you dry when the rain starts to fall. The BAODINI Travel Essentials Mini Umbrella is a fantastic choice because not only does it act as an umbrella and keep you protected from the storm, but it’s also a UV umbrella! This means that you can use it to keep the sun off of you, and even have the rays bounce back towards the sky. The temperature drops pretty significantly underneath its shade, and THAT feels wonderful on a hot day. Grab on Amazon A Mini Fan Goes A Long Way JISULIFE Handheld Mini Fan Mini fans don’t seem like they would make a lot of a difference, especially on a wildly hot day, but we’ll be the first to say that from personal experience, they REALLY can make or break a day. The JISULIFE 3 IN 1 Handheld Mini Fan is one of our favorites, not only because of its size, but it also acts as a portable charger and flashlight, and we’re big fans of items that help out in multiple ways. Grab on Amazon A Fan That Will REALLY Keep You Cool AMKEN Waist Fan If you know you carry a lot of heat in your body, and you need a fan that’s really going to work to keep you cool, then the AMKEN Waist Fan is going to be your best friend. This thing is POWERFUL, and while it’s a bit louder and heavier than other fans, it’s the ultimate way to keep cool if you know that’s what’s most important. You can wear it multiple different ways, or prop it up on a table, and that versatility is key. Grab on Amazon Cooling Towels For The Win Sukeen 4 Pack Cooling Towel Need something that you can wear around your neck to keep you cool as you walk around? The Sukeen Cooling Towels are going to be a great fit, especially since they come in a pack of four, making it easy to share with your group. You can get them wet again to revitalize them at any bathroom sink around the parks, which means you’re never far from some relief. Grab on Amazon We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all the ways you can make your summer trip the best it can be, so stay tuned to DFB! View the full article

Fandom can be found everywhere, from packed football stadiums to beloved Disney destinations. Around the world, millions of sports fans can likely recite the stats on the back of their favorite football card or relive a clutch touchdown from years ago as if it happened yesterday. In much the same way, Disney fans can often instantly name their favorite character or top attraction, recalling so many unforgettable stories and memories shared with family and friends over the years. Celebrating the spirit found at the core of both game-winning field goals and interactions with characters inside the parks, Disney, NFL, Champion, and Fanatics have unveiled a new collection at this year’s Fanatics Fest that pairs iconic Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, and Avengers characters with NFL teams in a way that feels like a perfect match. Football fans and merch lovers, you’re on the clock. The picks are officially in, and it’s time to see which characters were selected in the first round. Announced Today: The Disney I Champion NFL Collection at Fanatics Fest Today at Fanatics Fest NYC, one of the largest celebrations of modern sports fandom, the Disney | Champion NFL Collection made its debut, blending the passion of NFL fans, the nostalgia of classic sports apparel, and the power of Disney storytelling in a new way. To celebrate the launch, fans got a first look at the collection through the first-ever Disney Fan Draft, where the first eight teams were paired with iconic Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, and Avengers characters. The debut generated excitement across the show floor, with fans also able to shop the collection’s first drop at the Disney | Champion Fan Zone. The complete collection, featuring all 32 NFL teams and character pairings, will launch in August, with merchandise becoming available on Fanatics.com, NFLShop.com, DisneyStore.com, and Select Lids Locations Nationwide, giving fans new ways to celebrate their favorite teams as the 2026 NFL season approaches. Fans can join a waitlist to receive updates on their favorite team here. From the creative process behind pairing each team with iconic Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, and Avengers characters to the fan reactions surrounding the first-ever Disney Fan Draft, we’re taking a behind-the-scenes look at how this collection came to life. A Draft Board Full of Disney Characters The first eight Disney Fan Draft picks include: Buffalo Bills I Disney’s Beast Raw strength and duality — intensity with a loyal edge Dallas Cowboys I Disney and Pixar’s Woody Character, confidence, and timeless appeal – rooted in classic cowboy iconography Las Vegas Raiders I Star Wars’ Darth Vader Edge and mystique — a natural alignment of legacy power and presence New England Patriots | Avengers’ Captain America Heritage and heroism — a modern take on an enduring symbol of leadership and patriotism New York Giants I Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph Big, bold, and unstoppable — strength balanced with heart New York Jets I Disney and Pixar’s Buzz Lightyear Speed, flight, and confidence — anchored in aviation roots Tampa Bay Buccaneers I Disney’s Captain Hook Pirate legacy with attitude — expressive and unmistakable Washington Commanders I Disney and Pixar’s Hamm Grounded strength — a tribute to “The Hogs” Meet the Fan Behind the Picks Behind the collection is Bret Healey, Director, Graphic Design at Disney Consumer Products, one of the creative minds behind the pairings, the collection aesthetic, and someone who approached the project as both a designer and a lifelong sports fan. Or, as Bret puts it, “first and foremost, I’m a sports junkie.” Bret grew up surrounded by sports, with both sides of his family connected to fandom and athletics. His dad played football through college, and his earliest memories of sports turned into a lifelong love of teams, cities, fan traditions, and naturally, fan apparel, of which he is an avid collector. His first sports love was baseball around age nine, but that quickly opened the door to football and a much bigger fascination with the culture of sports. For him, sports have never been just about the final score. “It’s the jerseys, the city identities, the nicknames, mascots, stadiums, the fan signs in the stands, the niche pieces of team history and moments that your family and friends never forget,” Bret says, “That’s the stuff I truly love. The culture around the teams.” That passion became the starting point for the Disney | Champion NFL Collection. Walking through Disney Parks, Bret frequently noticed guests showing off either their Disney fandom or their favorite teams. It sparked a question: What would it take for him, as a fan himself, to wear a Disney product connected to his team? That question changed everything. Rule #1: Sports First For Bret Healey and his creative team, the challenge was never simply putting Disney characters on NFL apparel. Pulling from Disney’s full portfolio of beloved characters, the team’s goal was to create pieces that fans would be proud to wear, whether they were enjoying a visit to the parks, catching the latest film release, or lounging at home on a football Sunday. Every pairing needed a reason, a connection, and a story, and it had to look great. The creative team looked at franchise history, city identity, team colors, fan traditions, nicknames, famous eras, and the kinds of details fans know by heart before making each pairing. That meant that Bret and his team wanted NFL fans and beyond to discover products that they would ultimately be proud to wear, highlighting their fandom for both of these meaningful cornerstones that have connected so many people around the world for decades. The process itself was anything but simple. In fact, the team described the creative process as a bit like trying to move the ball against the #1 defense in the league. With a goal of not repeating characters, each pick had to hold its own while still fitting into a much larger picture. Some connections are understood immediately, while others take a beat, an intentional choice that Bret was pushing for during the creative process. “My favorite ones are the picks that make you pause for a second,” Bret says. “Then it clicks, and you think, ‘Okay, I see what they did there.’ That little moment of recognition is the fun part.” For the Fans Who Know On top of being the perfect piece to complete your Sunday outfit to the parks, the collection rewards fans who know their teams inside and out. Take the Dallas Cowboys, for example. At first glance, Woody might feel like a clear pick but take a closer look and you’ll notice that the connection goes deeper than just cowboy meets Cowboys. One of the designs places Woody into a pose inspired by the original Cowboys logo (yes, before the legendary ‘star’ that so many of us instantly recognize today), adding a layer of sports history and nostalgia that diehard fans will pick up right away. Then, there’s Wreck-It Ralph and the New York Giants, a pairing inspired in part by the team’s famous “Big Blue Wrecking Crew” defenses, connecting Ralph’s larger-than-life personality and tough-guy persona to one of the most memorable eras in franchise history. And for Washington, the connection came from one of those moments that lives on in sports culture. “After a long internal search for a match to the Commanders, I was driving around town and “The Hogs!” popped into my head. Once that happened, it had to be Hamm,” Healey says. “I like the humor aspect, it’s a little unexpected, and a perfect example of the tone we want to set with this collection.” These kinds of details are the ones that Bret Healey and the broader creative team really tried to focus on throughout the process, scheming up new ways to connect with fans across Disney and the NFL and creating pairings that fans could debate, defend, and discover. If you’re a sports fan, you know your team. You know the eras, the heartbreaks, the comebacks, the chants, the personalities and the inside references that make being a fan feel like belonging to something bigger. This collection embraces just that. The Picks Are Meant to Be Debated Like any good draft, the creative team knew some selections may spark immediate reactions. “If nobody argues about the picks, is it even a legitimate draft?” Bret says. “Sports fans debate everything rigorously. That’s part of the fun. It keeps us all connected with each other when the games aren’t on.” Some fans may see Beast and the Bills and get it right away. Others may need a minute with Buzz Lightyear and the Jets or Darth Vader and the Raiders. But that initial pause, that second look, and that inevitable group chat debate are all part of the experience. The Disney Fan Draft was designed to feel playful, passionate, and a little competitive, just like sports fandom itself. The characters themselves offer a playful extension of team identity while celebrating the passion that makes fandom special. “Sports can be very serious, but being a fan should still be fun at its root,” Bret says. “If these pieces make people smile, debate, discover details or tell a story about their team, then they’re doing exactly what they’re supposed to do.” Why Fanatics Fest Was the Place to Kick Off Fanatics Fest brings together athletes, collectors, creators, families, and superfans all under one roof, making it the right place to introduce a collection built around modern sports fandom. At this year’s event, the first-of-its-kind, on-stage Disney Fan Draft put the first picks on the board, giving fans a first look at the Disney | Champion NFL Collection and the stories behind each team and character pairing. The experience continued at the Disney | Champion Fan Zone, where guests could shop the first drop, get up close with the collection, snap photos, and celebrate alongside Disney characters. Take a look above at a few surprise appearances across this year’s Fanatics Fest. More Teams, More Picks, More Stories The first eight picks are only the beginning. The Disney | Champion NFL Collection is part of a broader collaboration between Disney, the NFL, Champion, and Fanatics, bringing together brands with deep connections to sports, storytelling, and fan culture. The launch also represents another exciting moment in Disney and ESPN’s “Year of the Super Bowl,” a landmark, yearlong celebration building toward ESPN’s first Super Bowl production in February. This launch builds on Disney Consumer Products’ growing presence across sports, as Disney continues finding new ways to meet fans where they are. Fans can look forward to additional team-character reveals and more fan experiences as the collection continues to roll out ahead of the 2026 NFL season. And if the first round is any indication, the conversation is just getting started. If you’ve got a trip to Disney’s Hollywood Studios coming up, you’re going to see a lot of construction happening! Hollywood Studios Construction has been taking place at Hollywood Studios all year long, and it’s not slowing down any time soon. From projects and upgrades around the park to the massive expansion of Monsters, Inc. Land, a day at Hollywood Studios looks a lot different today than it did a year ago. We recently visited the park, and we have lots to show you! Construction on Monstropolis is making more and more progress every single day. It’s crazy to see what it looks like right now. There is a ton of scaffolding on a lot of the existing structures, meaning that the exteriors of these buildings are undergoing some huge changes. Construction at Monstropolis To see it in person is actually crazy — just think that this building used to be Muppet*Vision 3D! Work is continuing We’re curious what’s going to happen when the exterior parts of the buildings start to look like Monstropolis. Will Disney cover them? Will they add more of a wall to block the view? We can’t imagine that we’ll be getting an “early” look at the land while it’s still being built. A Monsters, Inc.-themed land is being built There are some parts of the construction site that we aren’t sure what they’ll lead to, so it just looks like a ton of things that’ll eventually come together. Look at all the construction! What we’re really excited to see is the actual Monsters, Inc. building from the movie, which will be located in the back of the land. We’re not sure how good a view we’ll be able to get once the building starts to get built, but we’re assuming it’s going to be big. And that building will have Disney World’s first-ever suspended roller coaster in it! We’re so excited! Another part of the park is under construction right now, and that’s the Tower of Terror. When you walk by the ride, you’ll see that there’s work being done on the right side of the popular attraction. Tower of Terror construction Don’t worry, Tower of Terror is still open for guests to ride. The work being done is just maintenance on the exterior. And the gift shop is also still open. Construction on the Tower of Terror Scaffolding and scrims just cover parts of the exterior, including the facade above the gift shop. Construction boxes also wrap columns in the queue line. So, even though you can ride, the attraction isn’t looking picture perfect right now. Tower of Terror If you’re planning a vacation to the “Most Magical Place on Earth” soon, there’s no need to stress! The agents at Small World Vacations know how to save money on your Disney Vacation! If you’ve visited Disney World during the hotter part of the year (which, let’s face it, can sometimes be ANY time of the year), you’re going to be uncomfortable, maybe even when you’re back in your Disney World hotel room. After a hot and humid day in the parks, the hotel air conditioning can’t always go low enough to get you cooled off quickly. This room is missing something So what’s the one thing Disney World hotel rooms are missing that could help? A fan! Now, here’s another thing…a lot of folks can’t even sleep at night without a fan, so why not get a good portable fan that you can pack in your suitcase and take with you? DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Get the VENTY Portable Fan ©Amazon The VENTY Portable fan has THOUSANDS of Amazon reviews, and the majority of them are five stars. This fan is everything you need if you want to bring it to Disney World. It’s portable. It’s wireless. It even has a remote control. One thing we also love about this fan is that it’s extendable, so you can put it on the floor and extend its neck so that it’s taller. When you’re not using it, though? It folds down to just 3 inches. ©Amazon The fan also has four power speeds and has its own ambient lighting if you need that, too. It even has 120-degree oscillation. ©Amazon It charges via USB-C, and you can get a full two days with one charge. How’s that for convenient? When you think “pool bar,” even in Disney World, you’re probably thinking of food that tastes good when you’re starving after swimming for hours, but otherwise is a bit mediocre. Full spread from Bar Riva Bar Riva at Disney’s Riviera Resort is a pool bar that’s a bit more elevated than others, but does the menu match its decor? We decided it was time to find out, so we headed over there to grab some of the most popular eats on the menu. What we found wasn’t exactly what we expected, but there is ONE item available that we won’t be able to stop thinking about. Atmosphere Bar Riva is far from the typical “grab-and-go” pool bar scene you might be used to. It’s designed beautifully with Mediterranean-style blue-and-white décor, murals, and tile flooring that easily make you feel like you’re somewhere in Europe on vacation, not in Orlando, Florida. Bar Riva Bar Riva offers covered seating with table service, so there’s no need to worry about balancing a tray on your lap while you try to eat during your pool day. That’s already a big plus in our eyes! It’s stunning in here! It’s casual yet classy, making you feel like you’re in an elevated space without feeling underdressed in your bathing suit or cover-up. Menu Bar Riva’s menu feels more like something you’d find at a sit-down restaurant rather than a casual poolside spot, which is also what sets it apart. On the menu, you’ll find salads, pita, a burger, pasta, and even a seasonal pizza. ©Disney There are also shareables available, such as cheese and charcuterie, arancini, shrimp, and chicken strips. There are also plenty of options for the kids, which means picky eaters will be easy to please. ©Disney We can’t forget about dessert! While there are only three options on the menu, spoiler alert: one of these won’t be leaving our minds for a loooong time. ©Disney As for drinks, you’ll find a few fun non-alcoholic options, as well as multiple cocktails, frozen cocktails, sangria, and wine, as well as beer, hard cider, and seltzers. ©Disney Now it’s time for what we’ve all been waiting for — the eats! Drinks We grabbed the Coco di Paradiso for $16.50, which is Plantation Pineapple Rum, Aperol, Coconut, Pineapple, Lime, and Soda Water. Coco di Paradiso This drink wasn’t as sweet as we would have liked, and the alcohol flavor overall was stronger than we felt was necessary. The pineapple was fresh and soaked up a lot of the drink, which we enjoyed, since it had both the flavor of the drink and the sweetness of the pineapple when we took a bite, but that was the highlight. We probably wouldn’t get this one again. Eats We also snagged the Panzanella Salad for $13.79, which is made with Tomato, Burrata, Cucumber, Focaccia, and Red Wine Vinaigrette. Panzanella Salad The arugula was unfortunately very wilted, but the cucumber added a nice crunch to balance that. The salad itself was very savory and had a lot of pepper, which occasionally provided a little kick, but the sweetness from the tomatoes did give it a nice sweetness, balancing those salty and sweet flavors. A closer look The burrata was very creamy, which made it so you could almost dip your bites of salad or shrimp into it. While the shrimp was very tender and flavorful, the croutons were slightly soggy and had no crunch or flavor, which disappointed us. Overall, we weren’t impressed enough to get it again, but we didn’t dislike it entirely. Burrata We also grabbed the Seasonal Pizza for $17.49, which has Fontina, Mozzarella, Roasted Broccolini, Lemon Ricotta, and Arugula-Oregano Pesto. Seasonal Pizza This was the dish we were most excited about. The pizza had a very thick layer of cheese and a really crunchy crust on the outside that had some flop to it, which we enjoyed. However, the strongest flavor was definitely the pesto, and we weren’t the biggest fans of the roasted broccolini. It just didn’t feel like it belonged with this pizza, but it did have a crunchy snap, giving the pizza a little more texture. Would we get it again? Debatable — it would depend on whether we’re in the mood. Lots of pesto! We finished our meal off with the Riviera Cookie Skillet for $7.99, which is a Warm Riviera Cookie topped with Pistachio Gelato. Riviera Cookie Skillet This is the kind of dessert you try and immediately think of the people you want to bring here to try it again — we would get it again, and again, and again! Riviera Cookie Skillet The cookie was so warm and gooey, and the gelato melted perfectly. It seeps into the cookie, combining the flavors, but the cookie still retains its crunch, which is impressive. This is totally worth going out of your way for, though it is on the smaller side, so you’ll likely want it all to yourself! Nosh or Not? Spend an afternoon at Bar Riva if… You’re doing a resort day at Disney’s Riviera Resort, and you want lunch that doesn’t require shoes with laces or emotional resilience. This is an open-air pool bar with a breezy, “sit down, hydrate, pretend you’re on the French coast” atmosphere. You’ve got a mixed crew: someone wants a cocktail, someone wants “real food,” someone is a picky eater, and someone is just sun-tired. The menu hits that sweet spot with a classic Signature Burger, big salads, pasta, and shareables like seasonal arancini. There are also plant-based-friendly options like the grilled vegetable pita. You’re on the Disney Dining Plan and want a snack-and-lunch spot that can still play along. Yep, Disney Dining Plans are accepted here. We’d recommend another Disney World restaurant if… You need Mobile Order to keep your party from dissolving into chaos. Mobile Order is a no-go here, so expect standard ordering. You want air-conditioning, quiet, and “no one is dripping pool water within a five-mile radius.” This is open-air and pool-adjacent by design, so it’s relaxed, but not exactly hushed. You’re trying to keep things ultra-budget-friendly. It’s not the priciest resort meal, but it’s also easy to watch the total climb once you add a couple of cocktails and a shareable “for the table” that is actually for you. Overall While we think this is a great spot if you’re staying at Riviera Resort and want a menu with lots of different options, except for the Cookie Skillet, we don’t think it’s worth going out of your way for. It’ll hit the spot on a hot pool day, that’s for sure, and we appreciate the elevated options, but it likely will be far from your best meal of the trip. This is where you’ll want to go if you truly enjoy the spooky, scary, and gory part of the season. But for 2026, they’ve made a major change to the ticket offerings. Nightmare Fuel Circus of Decay You still have the option to purchase Express Passes to go with a single night ticket, but you can no longer bundle it with the Frequent Fear Pass. When a new ride or attraction opens in a theme park, it can change EVERYTHING. Lightning Lane at Peter Pan’s Flight If you’re the type to use Lightning Lanes during your visit, a ride change may throw off your entire strategy — messing up the order in which you usually book things. We’ve seen this happen several times in the past few years, with rides and attractions swapping around on the “popularity podium.” And nowadays, some Magic Kingdom attractions aren’t as popular as they once were. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin Starting out this list, we have a ride that had a brief surge of popularity in early spring and summer 2026. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin underwent a major renovation in 2025-2026 that changed the targets and scoring system, updated the ride vehicles, and swapped the attraction over to handheld blasters. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin Following the refurbishment and reopening, the ride became a popular Lightning Lane Multi Pass selection for a little while. Fans were eager to check out the updates and wanted to avoid the long lines, so of the Tier 2 selections, it was a clear choice. Now that the initial hype has died down a bit, it remains a good choice for a Lightning Lane, but it’s not selling out as quickly. See All the Updates Made to the Ride Here! Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Similarly, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad recently reopened after a long closure. This ride was closed for nearly a year and a half and got a full track update as well as some new scenes, effects, and backstory elements. It had a long wait for a while when it reopened in May, and many people were apparently hoping to skip that long line in the heat. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is a Tier 1 Lightning Lane Multi Pass selection, and it was booking up FAST after the ride reopened. After a couple of months, it’s still a popular choice, but it doesn’t necessarily have to be your #1 pick — we’ve seen times available for this ride day-of. What We REALLY Think About the Big Thunder Makeover Peter Pan’s Flight For many years, Peter Pan’s Flight was a HOT ticket item. It was a ride that we often recommended guests flock to at rope drop, and it was the top choice for a Lightning Lane for many folks, due to its long wait and fairly slow-moving line. But nowadays? It’s not as much of a priority. Peter Pan’s Flight in Disney World If you have small children, Peter Pan’s Flight and Jungle Cruise are the only two Tier 1 Lightning Lane Multi Pass options without height restrictions. In that case, this is a great choice for your first booking. Otherwise, you can wait to book this Lightning Lane until after you’ve used one in the park, as it’ll likely be available at some point in the day. Why You’ll Never Catch Me Skipping Lightning Lanes as a Disney Mom Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opened in Magic Kingdom in 2024, and it held its popularity for AGES. This ride was a revamp of the fan-favorite Splash Mountain, and thus, it was the clear top choice for Lightning Lane Multi Pass for a looooong time. It perpetually had a lengthy wait. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Now that the ride has been open for more than two years, some of the hype has died down. We used to cheer and jump up and down if we were graced with the opportunity to snag a last-minute Lightning Lane reservation for this attraction, but now it’s much more routine. If it’s a must-do, it’s a good first choice for Tier 1, but don’t fret if you prefer to book something else — you can probably find some of these time slots throughout the day. Learn More About This Ride HERE! Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Finally, we have to include a Lightning Lane Single Pass option in this list! Magic Kingdom is currently the only park with TWO Lightning Lane Single Pass attractions, and one of those is Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. For nearly a decade, it was pretty much guaranteed that this ride would have the highest average wait time in the park. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train But then, several other big rides got updates (see some of the ones near the top of this list), and TRON Lightcycle / Run opened. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train’s Lightning Lane used to be hard to snag, but when guests find themselves working with a tight budget and choosing between this or TRON…the choice often goes to the newer coaster in Tomorrowland. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train wait time on a VERY busy day No matter which rides you choose for your Lightning Lanes, you can still have a great time in Magic Kingdom if you go in with a plan! One of Magic Kingdom’s most iconic attractions is officially offline as Disney prepares for one of its biggest transformations in decades. Carousel of Progress If you’re planning a Disney World vacation in late summer 2026, this is one refurbishment you’ll definitely want to know about. Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress has already closed for an extensive overhaul, and when it returns in 2027, guests can expect a very different experience while still honoring the attraction’s legendary history. Here’s everything we know about the closure and what’s coming next. Carousel of Progress Is Closed Through 2026 Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress officially closed on July 6th, 2026, and it will remain unavailable through August and the rest of 2026 while Imagineers work on an ambitious reimagining of the classic attraction. Walls are up! Disney has confirmed that the attraction is expected to reopen sometime in 2027, making this one of the longer refurbishment projects currently happening at Magic Kingdom. If you were hoping to catch one more performance during a 2026 vacation, you’ll need to adjust your plans because the theater will stay dark for quite a while. This Update Actually Fits the Attraction’s Story While longtime fans may be sad to see Carousel of Progress closed, there’s something fitting about this particular refurbishment. The attraction has always been about change, innovation, and looking ahead. Since its debut at the 1964-1965 New York World’s Fair, the show has evolved several times as technology and everyday life have continued to change. It later moved to Disneyland before eventually finding its permanent home in Magic Kingdom in 1975. Carousel of Progress Over the decades, Disney has refreshed dialogue, updated scenes, changed voice actors, and even swapped theme songs before eventually bringing back “There’s a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow.” In many ways, updating the attraction is part of its own tradition. Walt Disney Is Joining the Attraction Perhaps the biggest addition coming with this refurbishment is the arrival of Walt Disney himself. ©Disney Imagineers are creating a brand-new opening scene featuring an Audio-Animatronics version of Walt inspired by his famous presentation introducing Carousel of Progress before the World’s Fair. The scene is expected to recreate many of the memorable props seen during that presentation, including early Disney projects and models that helped define one of the company’s most creative eras. For many Disney fans, this may end up becoming one of the most emotional moments in the attraction. Every Scene Is Getting a New Time Period The show’s familiar American family isn’t going anywhere, but they’re moving into entirely new decades. Rather than beginning around the turn of the twentieth century, the refreshed version will start in the 1960s. Disney says the goal is to make the attraction more relatable for modern audiences while still celebrating the spirit of progress that has always defined the show. ©Disney Here’s what guests can expect. The 1960s: The first act takes place during the summer of 1969 as the family gathers around the television to watch the Apollo 11 moon landing. It’s a perfect way to capture one of history’s greatest moments of innovation while keeping the focus on how technological breakthroughs shape everyday family life. The 1980s: The second act jumps to Halloween night in 1985. This scene shifts much of the spotlight to Sarah as she explains how new household gadgets and appliances are making life easier. Meanwhile, John is busy handing out candy to trick-or-treaters, and Uncle Orville is still dealing with his famously interrupted bath time. The New Millennium: The third act moves to New Year’s Eve 1999 as everyone prepares to welcome the year 2000. The growing popularity of the internet becomes one of the major themes, showing how technology is connecting families in entirely new ways. Disney also promises plenty of humorous family moments, including Grandpa falling asleep before midnight while Grandma quietly changes the television to wrestling. The Future: The final act continues the attraction’s tradition of imagining tomorrow. This updated finale features futuristic home technology, helpful robots, and even space travel as part of everyday life. Imagineers also looked back at original concept artwork created by legendary Disney designer John Hench while developing this scene, blending classic inspiration with fresh ideas. The Attraction Will Still Feel Familiar Even with all these changes, Disney isn’t throwing away what fans love. The Sherman Brothers’ beloved song, “There’s a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow,” will remain part of the experience, continuing to play as guests rotate between scenes. What will the future bring? Imagineers have also emphasized that practical sets, detailed props, painted backdrops, and physical effects will continue to play a major role throughout the attraction. Every decade will feature carefully researched décor, appliances, artwork, and fashion to help each scene feel authentic. That commitment to practical storytelling should help preserve much of the charm that has made Carousel of Progress a fan favorite for generations. There’s Even a New Attraction Poster Disney also revealed a brand-new attraction poster that celebrates both the attraction’s history and its future. ©Disney The artwork takes inspiration from the original Disneyland poster while incorporating elements of the refreshed experience. It’s a small detail, but longtime Disney fans will likely appreciate the nod to the attraction’s roots. What This Means for Your 2026 Trip If Magic Kingdom is on your vacation itinerary this August, be prepared for Carousel of Progress to remain behind refurbishment walls while work continues. Carousel of Progress is now behind walls Fortunately, Tomorrowland still offers plenty to do, including Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin once it returns from its own refurbishment, TRON Lightcycle / Run, the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover, and Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor. Even without Carousel of Progress operating, there are still plenty of attractions to fill your day. For fans of Disney history, though, this closure marks the end of one chapter and the beginning of another. Disney isn’t simply refurbishing an attraction. It’s carefully reimagining one of Walt Disney’s most personal projects while preserving the optimistic message that has inspired guests for more than 60 years. Yep, it’s closed We’ll be keeping a close eye on construction progress, new concept art, and additional announcements as Disney shares more details leading up to the attraction’s 2027 reopening. Changes have been a constant at Disney World for decades, with rides, attractions, restaurants, and even a whole water park closing over the decades. In the last few years alone, iconic attractions like Muppet*Vision 3D, Tom Sawyer Island, and The Rivers of America have all shuttered for good, with fans making one final visit while lamenting their loss in the buildup to their final day of operation. However, not every closed Disney location has gotten a grand send-off. Tortuga Tavern Instead, some – – ranging from merchandise locations to a decades-old show – – closed without warning and simply never reopened, changing the face of their respective Disney park with nothing but a whimper. The Voyage of the Little Mermaid First opened in 1992, Voyage of The Little Mermaid was a major part of Hollywood Studios for nearly 30 years. The show featured an abridged version of the film’s story, utilizing a mix of live actors, puppets, special effects, and laser projections on the auditorium walls and ceilings to mimic being underwater. Voyage of the Little Mermaid The show closed with the rest of Disney World at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in March of 2020, and simply never reopened. The venue sat closed for several years until it was revamped with a take on the material entitled The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure, which opened in 2025. While the new show hits similar beats, many guests who grew up with the ’90s version still lament not having the ability to have seen the original version one last time. The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure The One Hollywood Studios Trick That Will Always Get You on More Rides Tortuga Tavern Located in Adventureland, the Pirates of the Caribbean-themed Tortuga Tavern first opened in 2011. The quick-service location offered a menu mainly consisting of Mexican food. The restaurant closed in the summer of 2024, initially for refurbishment, and then never returned. Of course, since then, Adventureland has gotten a new — and much more intricately themed — Pirates of the Caribbean-themed dining establishment in Beak and Barrel. Tortuga Tavern blocked by shrubs Disney Made A HUGE Change This Week…And Then They Took It Back Big Al’s As a massive portion of Frontierland continues to transform into Piston Peak, elements of the land continue to change. This includes Big Al’s, the Country Bear Jamboree-themed merchandise, which once sat on the shores of the Rivers of America. Big Al’s The merchandise stand closed on May 11th. Disney never formally confirmed this location was closing permanently, and the fact that when we get the “someone ate the page” screen on the Disney World website for Big Al’s (AKA it has been scrubbed from Disney’s website) gives us a clue that it’s never coming back, at least not as Big Al’s. RIP Big Al’s! Well, We Gave Up Rivers of America For This…See Piston Peak Construction Progress Disney Jr. Play and Dance Let’s wrap up with a return to Hollywood Studios. First opening in 2020, the Disney Jr. Play and Dance show was the then-latest incarnation of a child-friendly Disney Jr. show held in Hollywood Studios’ Animation Courtyard. The show ran until the spring of 2025, when it was “temporarily” replaced by Get Animated!, a show that was part of the Cool Kids Summer. Disney Jr. Play was supposed to reopen in September, but never did. It has since been replaced by Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! as part of the Animation Courtyard’s larger transformation into the Walt Disney Studios Lot. Disney Jr. Play & Dance Next time you’re at Disney World, remember to take in everything from shops to restaurants to rides and shows, as for some of them, you may never know when they’ll disappear without fanfare. We’ve just got a little more than a month before the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival begins, and we’re ready to eat all the eats, chase a rat around EPCOT, and enjoy some fun concerts at the American Adventure Pavilion. Mimosa at Parisian Breakfast The festival offers all kinds of great experiences, including one of our favorites, the Parisian Breakfast at Chefs de France in the France Pavilion. Now it has been confirmed that the breakfast will return for this year’s festival, but we’ve got some bad news if you’re thinking about booking: the price for the breakfast has gone up. Last year, the price for the Parisian Breakfast was $64.95 per person. This year, the breakfast will cost $3 more, with the price at $67.95. The breakfast includes a traditional French breakfast with buttery croissants, pain au chocolat, other assorted pastries, freshly baked baguettes, cheeses, charcuterie, smoked salmon, and fresh fruit. You also get unlimited mimosas, fruit juices, and freshly brewed coffee. Parisian Breakfast Now, if you’ve actually visited France, you’ll know a traditional breakfast is more like a single croissant and a cup of espresso, but this is a way to try traditional French breakfast foods and fill up. We’ve enjoyed this buffet in the past and still feel that it could be worth it if you arrive hungry. It’s a unique way to enjoy breakfast in EPCOT and a great way to start an EPCOT Food & Wine Festival day. Cheeses With that being said, you also don’t want to fill up too much because you’ll need to save room for all the festival foods you want to try, too. So you’ll have to decide if the breakfast is for you. Baguette We’ll keep an eye out for more EPCOT Food & Wine Festival news, so stay tuned to DFB for more. Who’s excited for the return of the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival? Let’s go! This year, it runs from August 27th through November 1st. We’ll be there on opening weekend to check out all the delicious new treats and fun offerings, but if you’re planning a visit, today is an important day. Dining reservations are NOW open for Food & Wine! As of July 16th, two different types of dining reservations have opened for the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival — Eat to the Beat dining packages and the Parisian Breakfast at Chefs de France. Both of these offerings are available exclusively for the festival. Dining Packages The Eat to the Beat dining packages are a way that you can get guaranteed seating during the Eat to the Beat concert series. These concerts are free with EPCOT admission, and take place three times nightly. More famous bands and artists perform Fridays through Mondays, while local bands perform Tuesday through Thursday evenings. Those famous bands can be VERY popular, so getting reserved seating for a show could be a game-changer if there’s someone you really want to see. John Stamos with the Beach Boys at Eat to the Beat in 2025 Showtimes happen at 5:30PM, 6:45PM, and 8PM nightly. The following restaurants now have reservations open through the Disney World website and My Disney Experience app for dining packages: Biergarten Restaurant Chefs de France Coral Reef Restaurant Garden Grill Restaurant La Crêperie de Paris La Hacienda de San Angel Le Cellier Steakhouse Nine Dragons Restaurant Rose & Crown Dining Room Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya Spice Road Table Teppan Edo Tutto Italia Ristorante Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria Regal Eagle Smokehouse also offers dining packages same-day. Stop by first thing in the morning to see if there are any available on the day of your visit. Learn More Details and See Pricing Here! Eat to the Beat The other dining reservation that opens today is for the Parisian Breakfast at Chefs de France in the France Pavilion. This is a buffet available exclusively during the Food & Wine Festival with traditional French breakfast fare. It was a brand-new offering in 2025 and we had a delightful time trying it out. See Our Review from 2025 Here! Mimosa at Parisian Breakfast It’s a pre-paid meal that’s available on Fridays and Saturdays starting on August 28th, 2026. The cost is $67.95 per adult, so this is not a cheap meal, but it could be a great way to relax a bit during your EPCOT visit.
