It’s 5:47 AM. You’re tucked into your bed at Disney’s Pop Century Resort, blissfully asleep after a 25,000-step park day. Your alarm isn’t set for another hour. Then BANG. Disney’s Pop Century Resort No, that’s not the fireworks. And it’s not a dropped suitcase. It’s a door. Somebody three rooms down just headed out for rope drop, and they let their door slam shut behind them. And then — BANG — they forgot their MagicBand and went back in. Friends, we have a problem. We’re calling them Hall Trolls, and they’re lurking in Disney World hotels everywhere. So, What Exactly Is a “Hall Troll”? A Hall Troll is a hotel guest who lets their room door slam every time they come and go. Early in the morning. Late at night. During nap time. Doesn’t matter. If that door is closing, the whole building is going to hear about it. Now, let’s be clear: most Hall Trolls aren’t villains. They’re not trying to wake you up. They’re just tired, distracted, juggling a stroller, a backpack, three Mickey Bars’ worth of sticky toddler, and a phone open to the My Disney Experience app. They simply let go of the door and walk away without thinking about it. But the result is the same. Everyone nearby gets jolted awake — and on a Disney vacation, sleep is a precious resource. All-Star Music Resort Why It’s SO Much Louder at the Value Resorts We recently stayed at Pop Century, and we noticed the door slamming far more than we ever have at a Deluxe Resort. There’s a reason for that. The layout works against you. At Disney’s Value Resorts like Pop Century, room doors open to exterior walkways. Rooms sit right next to each other in long rows, and those rows are stacked floor on top of floor. That means a lot of doors within earshot of yours — beside you, above you, below you, and across the courtyard. Pop Century Resort That’s not all — Sound carries. Open-air walkways and big courtyards don’t do much to muffle a slam. That bang bounces right around the building and into every room nearby. The doors are built to close firmly. Hotel room doors are heavy and designed to swing shut and latch on their own for security. That’s a good thing! But it also means that if you just let go, physics is going to finish the job — loudly. Disney’s Beach Club At the Deluxe Resorts, you’ll usually find interior hallways, more space between rooms, and carpeting that soaks up some of the noise. You might not notice it as much. But make no mistake: Hall Trolls are everywhere. We’ve heard plenty of slams echo down the corridors at fancier resorts, too. They just hit harder when your neighbor is a few feet away. Peak Hall Troll Hours Hall Trolls can strike at any time, but there are a few windows when they do the most damage: The early morning rush. Between Early Theme Park Entry, rope drop, breakfast reservations, and early flights home, lots of guests are heading out before the sun is up. That’s a lot of doors closing while everyone else is still sleeping. After the fireworks. When the parks close and the buses roll back to the resorts, a wave of tired guests comes back to their rooms — and the doors start booming. After-hours parties. Special events like Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party run late, which means a late-night round of slams when partygoers get back. Midday nap breaks. The irony! Families sneaking back to the room for a nap, while their neighbors are also trying to nap. Pool, ice, and snack runs. In and out, in and out. Each trip is two more chances for a slam. Port Orleans Riverside Room How NOT To Be a Hall Troll The good news? Avoiding Hall Troll status is ridiculously easy. It takes about two extra seconds. Guide the door closed. Keep your hand on the handle and ease the door shut until you hear it click. That’s it. That’s the whole trick. Make sure it actually latches. Guiding the door is NOT the same as leaving it cracked open. Give it a quick push or tug to make sure it’s fully closed and locked behind you. Safety first! Watch the kids. Little ones LOVE doors. Turn it into a game — “ninja door closing” or “let’s see who can close it the quietest” — and you’ll have a whole family of door experts. Pack the night before. If you’re leaving early for the parks or the airport, get everything ready the night before. One trip out the door beats five trips in and out. Use your inside voice on the walkways. Hall Trolls have a cousin: the Walkway Yeller. Keep the conversations quiet until you’re away from the rooms, especially early and late. Disney’s Beach Club Resort What To Do If You’re Stuck Next to a Hall Troll Sometimes you do everything right and still end up next door to the loudest door in Central Florida. Here’s how to cope: Make a room request. When you check in online, you can request things like a top floor. Requests aren’t guaranteed, but it doesn’t hurt to ask. A top floor at least means no footsteps above you! Bring white noise. A white noise app or a small sound machine can work wonders. Some folks just crank the room’s AC fan. Pack earplugs. They’re tiny, cheap, and a total vacation saver for light sleepers. Contact the front desk if it’s ongoing. One slam is annoying. A whole night of noise is something Disney’s Cast Members can help with. Give a little grace. Remember: most Hall Trolls have no idea they’re doing it. They’re tired, too. The room door We all go to Disney World to make memories, and a good night’s sleep is a big part of having the energy to make them. Guiding your door closed costs you nothing, and it helps everyone around you have a better vacation. So on your next trip, be the hero, not the Hall Troll. The holidays are in FULL SWING in Disney World, and yes, we wake up every morning singing holiday tunes on our way into the parks…because we can. Is this the most adorable popcorn bucket ever? And honestly, who can blame us? The decor all around the parks is still going up, but it’s looking beautiful so far, and both of the resort’s holiday parties — Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Jollywood Nights — are beginning starting today. If you don’t have a ticket to the parties, no worries, because there are still plenty of ways to experience holiday cheer around the parks. A new popcorn bucket just dropped in Magic Kingdom, and yes, we bought it IMMEDIATELY and have a feeling you will too! The Toy Story Gingerbread House Popcorn Bucket is now available at select outdoor snack carts in Magic Kingdom for $31.99, and yes, for that price, it comes with popcorn inside. It doesn’t hold a ton, but honestly, we got it more for the looks rather than the ability to hold a ton of popcorn — just LOOK at this thing! Toy Story Gingerbread House Popcorn Bucket The bucket itself has Woody and Bo Peep dressed in their holiday attire on the front, and Woody’s even got Santa’s sack, like he’s heading out to deliver gifts! Bo Peep has the iconic Pixar bouncy ball underneath her feet, which we think is such a fun detail. So cute! You’ll find more Toy Story characters around the sides of the house! On one side, you’ll see a gingerbread cutout of Hamm in a Santa hat, and a figurine of one of the little Green Aliens holding a wreath. The roof on both sides has some great random candy pieces, really bringing home the idea that it’s a gingerbread house created by someone enthusiastic, but maybe someone who doesn’t have the best coordination. One side As for the other side, you’ll see Bo Peep’s three sheep dressed up as snowmen, as well as three blocks that spell out “Toy.” Look closely, and you’ll see another Green Alien popping out of the chimney! This is also the side of the house that opens to reveal the popcorn inside. We love the details! As for the back, you’ll see a character that’s rarely represented — it’s Angel Kitty from Toy Story: That Time Forgot, which is the Christmas special that came out in 2014. Next to her is a Christmas tree attached to the back of the house, and we love the drawn-on window nearby. Back of the popcorn bucket The strap to hold the bucket is red with green stripes, and features the same characters you see on the bucket — Woody dressed as Santa, Hamm, a Green Alien, Bo Peep, and Bo Peep’s sheep. It’s super festive! So many characters! We also stopped by Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe to snag the new Stitch Tree Sipper! He’ll cost you $22.99, and not only is he dressed in a Christmas tree outfit, but he also lights up! We love that he’s gnawing on a candy cane too — who would Stitch be if he’s not accidentally (or on purpose) making a bit of a mess of something? Stitch Christmas Tree Sipper! He’s also available at Connections Eatery and Regal Eagle Smokehouse in EPCOT, Fairfax Fare, ABC Commissary, Backlot Express, and select outdoor vending locations in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, as well as at select outdoor vending locations at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. We love him! We’ve got a feeling these will sell out fast, so snag one while you can! We’ll be sure to let you know if we see it in additional parks, as it’s supposed to be available at Disney’s Hollywood Studios beginning today as well. Cozy Apparel and Holiday Ornaments from Disneyland If fuzzy sweaters and matching Disney PJs are your thing, and holiday decorations go up the second the clock strikes midnight on October 31, you’re in the right place. Several collections bring favorite Disney characters and festive designs together for the season, including the Mickey Mouse Family Christmas Collection, Disney Holiday Pastel Collection, Vintage Holiday, Holiday Plaid, and Winnie the Pooh Holiday collections. With apparel, accessories, home décor, and plenty more to discover, the hardest part may be deciding which items to gift and which ones to keep for yourself. And speaking of Christmas trees, a Disney Parks ornament can keep memories from your visit hanging around for many holidays to come. Each winter, my family loves to purchase at least one ornament to mark yearly wintertime visits to the resort, especially when they feature cherished characters like Woody and Buzz Lightyear or favorite attractions like Jungle Cruise and Haunted Mansion. On your next visit to the parks, you’ll notice that this year’s commemorative ornaments celebrate the places, attractions, treats, and quintessential moments that have become part of a perfect day at the Disneyland Resort. Each ornament is a small reminder of those fond memories alongside your loved ones, ready to come out of the box year after year when it’s time to decorate. Longtime Disneyland fans can look for ornament designs inspired by park icons like Sleeping Beauty Castle, the Disneyland Marquee, and Matterhorn Bobsleds. At the resort, these three commemorative ornaments can only be found at three locations: World of Disney at Downtown Disney District, Emporium at Disneyland, and Elias & Co. at Disney California Adventure. For even more trimmings for your tree, be sure to also stop by Plaza Point on Main Street, U.S.A. for additional year-round holiday décor and even more ornaments (including year-round, hand-painted ornament personalization – subject to availability) that add a little more Disney charm to your towering noble fir. Holiday Gifts from Disneyland for Star Wars Fans Kicking off your Christmas list with Star Wars-inspired products is always a most impressive choice. If you’re trying to avoid making the jump to hyperspace to track down gifts for the Star Wars fans in your life, Batuu is the place to be. Younglings and seasoned Jedi masters can find plenty to explore and purchase around Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, including curiosities from Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities, new robes from Black Spire Outfitters, critters from Creature Stall, and handmade collectibles from Toydarian Toymaker. You can bring home an Ewok Batuu Adventure Buddy from Droid Depot, ready to join you on adventures around Black Spire Outpost and beyond. Stay tuned for two more companions coming soon! At Savi’s Workshop, you can construct a customized lightsaber (consider choosing red or green colors during the holiday season) and build a gift worthy of any Force-sensitive fan on your list. There’s even a new series of the “Protection and Defense” hilt theme now available – check out more information on Disney Parks Blog. Unique Holiday Shopping at Disneyland Part of what makes holiday shopping at Disneyland so special is that finding the perfect, standout gift can become a magical memory of its own. Make a full day of exploring shops throughout the resort and picking out something just right for the Disney lover in your life. On your way to the front gates, start your shopping at the Downtown Disney District, where you can browse several destinations before even stepping into the parks. Stop by World of Disney for a wide selection of Disney merchandise, explore Disney Wonderful World of Sweets for something delicious to tuck under the tree, or find even more potential presents throughout the district at trendy locations like The D-Lander Shop, Avengers Reserve, and Disney Storyland Boutique. A range of holiday-themed products from Downtown Disney can also make perfect gifts for loved ones including festive advent calendars from Lovepop, sparkly gift sets from Pandora, and innovative apparel, accessories, and footwear at lululemon. Then, head into the parks and wander your way down Main Street, U.S.A., or Buena Vista Street, where decorated storefronts and plenty of Disney merchandise make holiday shopping feel like another part of the holiday experience. In a world where money is tight and every dollar counts, do you really need Lightning Lane at EPCOT on your next trip? Lightning Lane When planning a Disney World vacation in 2027, there are several things to consider: When to go, where to stay, which discounts to take advantage of, and what Lightning Lane strategy to use! Each of Disney World’s theme parks requires a different strategy, including EPCOT. While Disney World’s second gate is a favorite of many Disney adults (GUILTY!), the park isn’t bursting at the seams with rides, meaning guests can be a bit more selective in how they deploy Lightning Lanes. However, that doesn’t mean there’s nothing to plan, as the park’s most popular attractions fill up FAST! Before we get started, a quick rundown on Disney’s current Lightning Lane offerings: Lightning Lane Multi Pass allows guests to plan ahead of their visit and choose up to 3 Multi Pass experiences (one Tier 1, and a pair of Tier 2s or a trio of the latter) and arrival windows in a theme park (7 days in advance of their stay for Disney hotel guests and 3 days in advance for non-hotel guests). Lightning Lane Single Pass allows guests to “Save time in line with a Lightning Lane Single Pass for one of our most in-demand attractions—those not available with Lightning Lane Multi Pass.” Single Passes are eligible to be purchased at the same time as their Multi Pass equivalents. Lightning Lane Premier Pass “allows one-time entry to each Lightning Lane experience in a theme park — to enjoy at your leisure that day.” EPCOT’s current Lightning Lane offerings are as follows: Single Pass Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Multi Pass Tier 1 Frozen Ever After Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure Test Track Test Track Multi Pass Tier 2: Disney and Pixar Short Film Festival Journey Into Imagination With Figment Living with the Land Mission: SPACE The Seas with Nemo & Friends Soarin’ Across America Spaceship Earth Turtle Talk With Crush EPCOT Which Rides to Book? Grab Guardians FAST If you’re planning on purchasing a Lightning Lane Single Pass for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind — which you probably should, considering the ride generally averages the longest lines in any Disney World park from rope drop — you’re going to want to do it fast. Single Passes for the ride, which average around $23 per person, tend to sell out fast. So take advantage of that aforementioned 7- or 3-day window as early as possible. Cosmic Rewind loading area We Got Evacuated from EPCOT’s Most Popular Ride. Here’s What It Was Like Multi Pass Choices Let’s move on to choosing your initial Multi Pass attraction. When deciding on which of the three Tier 1 options to choose, there are potential pros for each attraction: Frozen Ever After is likely the best option for families with young kids, as the ride’s waits generally remain strong until late-night hours, when most tykes are tuckered out. Frozen Ever After at EPCOT Test Track is the go-to option for thrillseekers, as the ride’s wait hovers around an hour for the majority of the day every day since the ride reopened from its massive refurbishment in 2025. Test Track Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is certainly “worth” a Tier 1 Lightning Lane UNLESS guests are rope dropping the park via the International Gateway/Skyliner entrance. Remy’s Nobody Warns You About Riding Test Track With Strangers in EPCOT Moving on to your Tier 2 Lightning Lanes, the choices are a bit more open-ended as (arguably unsurprisingly) none of the second tier attractions approach the waits of the park’s 4 big attractions. The closest — and easily our recommendation for your First Tier 2 Lightning Lane — is Soarin’ Across America. This latest Soarin’ overlay, which is supposed to be temporary though there’s no end date announced, has proven to be popular enough to make a Lightning Lane worth using. Soarin’ Across America For your second Tier 2 Lightning Lane, we’d recommend either Mission: Space or Living With the Land, depending on your thrill tolerance. Living with the Land What’s a Burner Lightning Lane? Once you tap into your very first Lightning Lane of the day, the tier rules disappear entirely. That means you can potentially hold three Tier 1 selections at the same time if you play it right. The move is to pre-book one of your three selections on a ride you can hop on first thing in the morning, use it right when you walk in, and let that tap-in unlock the full menu for the rest of the day. And honestly, you don’t have to settle for a ride you’re indifferent about. For you, maybe that’s Spaceship Earth or Soarin’ — two rides that are popular enough that it doesn’t feel like a throwaway, and it frees you up to stack more Tier 1 rides as the day goes on. Spaceship Earth Since there are only a few Tier 1 attractions in EPCOT, they fill up fast, so the burner Lightning Lane is almost essential here to get several top-tier rides (unless you play the refreshing game all day). The Rules for Lightning Lanes Are Changing at Disney World in 2027 Day-Of Tips Now, you’ve arrived at EPCOT with your Lightning Lanes, including a “burner” Lightning Lane ready to go. What other tips can you use to make the most of it? Here are a few of our favorites: A Longer Window: While your reservation will show as “expired” in the My Disney Experience app after that one-hour window, you actually have up to THREE HOURS to redeem it. That’s right – three full hours, which leads us to Stacking. Stacking: Once the first hour of your current Lightning Lane window passes, the app treats it as used for the purposes of booking your next one. That means you don’t have to actually tap in before grabbing your next selection. Meaning you can be holding two selections at once without doing anything sketchy. Keep Checking: Not seeing the Lightning Lane options you were hoping for? This is where our next tip comes in: Refresh the Lightning Lane page on the Disney World app throughout the day. You can use this method after you have made all of your initial selections and confirmed your purchase. This tip can help you find better times for attractions that you have already booked. From the main screen, tap on the selection you are looking to modify the time for and then select “Modify Plan” in the pop-up. You will then be taken to a screen where you can modify the experience by either picking a new time or picking a new experience. On this page, select whatever time the app gives you to modify the selection to (even if it is much later). Then, you will be taken to a screen to review the details of your selection. On this page, find the attraction again, and you will see a “Modify Time” option in blue text. Click on this to see a list of available times. If you’re still not seeing an ideal time, you can repeatedly click “Close” and then “Modify Time” again to refresh the available times. Your selections are only saved for five minutes, but you can continue to refresh the available times, and if the five minutes run out, you can simply back out and come back in. ©Disney If you’re heading to EPCOT in 2027 and plan to use Lightning Lane, it’s best to plan your strategy early! As Disney foodies, we’re living the good life! Since August, we’ve been enjoying EPCOT’s Food & Wine Festival, and now we get to enjoy another food and wine event for a limited time. Let’s eat! Have you heard of the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic? It’s an event that runs from November 20th through the 21st, from 5 PM to 9 PM each day, featuring gourmet cuisine from award-winning chefs, paired with fine wines, beers, and spirits from around the world. We got the awesome chance to check it out early, and we’re taking you with us! The Swan and Dolphin Food and Wine Classic is a special ticketed event that offers unlimited food and drinks from themed areas across the Swan & Dolphin Causeway. The themed areas for 2026 include The Beer Garden, Bubble Lounge, For the Love of Florida, Carnival Corner, Chinatown, and Desserts. We got to preview the food! First, we tried the Slow Cooked Berkshire Pork Belly with Hickory Smoked Cane Sugar “Cloud,” and Carrot Ginger purée, which will be available on Friday at Smokin D’s BBQ. This was UH-mazing! The cloud on top of the pork belly is actually cotton candy, and it is not as weird as it sounds. You get this nice sweetness to the savory flavor of the pork belly, and it just balances out beautifully. Just WOW. The carrot ginger purée also just melts in the mouth and adds a touch of freshness to that sugar and fat. Then you’ve got crunchy garlic for extra flavor and texture. Slow Cooked Berkshire Pork Belly We also had the Crispy Fried Eggplant with Tzatziki, Cardamom Apricots, and Toasted Sesame Seeds. This will be available on Friday at the Amare food booth. Who knew eggplant would be our new obsession? But here we are. It’s so crispy and prepared very well (which is a tricky thing to do with eggplant). It’s got a slight earthiness, but the tzatziki adds a zing and some creaminess. The apricot has a lovely chewy texture. The only thing is that the toasted sesame seeds seem to get drowned by the tzatziki. Crispy Fried Eggplant The Bourbon Steak Booth will offer the Slow Braised Wagyu Beef Short Rib both days of the festival. It’s served with Celery Root Espuma and Shallot Marmalade. If we had to pick a favorite dish, this was IT. The beef just pulls apart so easily with a fork. The celery root espuma adds a light earthiness, as well as a creamy texture. Then you get the sharp, acidic flavor of the shallot marmalade to balance it all out. Slow Braised Wagyu Beef Short Rib Todd English’s bluezoo is presenting the Oyster Espuma with Gruyère Panna Cotta, Champagne Sphere, Sea Beans, Crispy Parmesan, and Tobiko Caviar. It’s served in an oyster shell, but the oyster itself has been worked into the panna cotta, which is fantastic. It’s airy, but still somehow manages to pack in lots of flavor. The crispy parmesan adds some crunch (and cheesiness, which we ALWAYS appreciate), while the caviar and champagne spheres make the dish unique and interesting. Oyster Espuma We have one word to say about the Chestnut Agnolotti with Roasted Pumpkin, Citrus Butter, Toasted Black Walnuts, Crispy Sage, and Shaved Parmesan: DELICIOUS. The pasta is perfectly al dente and covered in SO MUCH butter. Then you get that citrus and buttery flavor combining with the fall, earthy flavor of the pumpkin that just makes it even more perfect. The toasted walnuts add a nice crunch. This is one of those dishes that feels familiar, but also elevated. WE LOVED IT. Chestnut Agnolotti Kimonos will be offering the Bluefin Tuna Hamachi with Cucumber, Fried Shallots, Sweet Soy Glaze, Dynamite Sauce, and Bubu Arare on Saturday. This is another item that feels familiar, yet elevated. The fish itself is high quality, fresh, and not too salty or fishy. The cucumber is also fresh, and the dynamite sauce adds just a subtle kick. The fried shallots are crispy, so you get some nice texture. This is like sushi, but somehow better. Bluefin Tuna Hamachi Carnival Corner will feature the “Char Siu” Pulled Pork Slider with Fermented Red Bean and Cherry Marinade, Shiso Coriander Aioli, and Charred Scallion Slaw. It’s messy, but it’s so good that no one seemed to mind that it was running down their faces. The cherry marinade makes the salty pork slightly sweet and fruity. The “char siu” elements are really there, too, in the flavors. The charred scallion slaw adds a nice crispiness and earthy taste to the sweet meat. Then you’ve got the coriander aioli that adds a nice additional flavor, making the whole thing so dynamic. “Char Siu” Pulled Pork Slider Then it was time for something sweet. Yep, we’re talking about DESSERTS. Now, a LOT of folks were saying the Cinnamon Roll Waffle with Spiced Anglaise and Dulce de Leche Ice Cream was their favorite thing EVER. And, well, we are right there with them. This is what a churro waffle should be, and it had such a wonderful cinnamon flavor, while also having a good amount of sugar on the outside. The dulce de leche ice cream is a nice touch to cut through all that sugar. We will say it was hard to cut through the waffle with a fork, but it makes sense that it was made just a little hard so it wouldn’t get soggy with the ice cream. Cinnamon Roll Waffle Another dessert we got to try was the Rocher Chocolate, which is a bigger take on the Ferrero Rocher chocolate candy. However, this doesn’t have that crunchy thing going on like the candy has, and once you break into it, it’s just melted chocolate coming out of all sides. But the chocolate has a beautiful flavor and is rich and decadent. But yeah, we wanted that crunch. Rocher Chocolate Finally, we tried the Viral Dubai Strawberry Shot. This one was our least favorite dessert, but even saying that, we thought it tasted pretty good. The chocolate is silky and rich, but it tends to overpower the pistachio and strawberry. We think this could benefit from MORE sweet strawberry and nutty pistachio flavor. BUT…if you love chocolate, you’re going to love this. Viral Dubai Strawberry Shot This is the first time the Swan and Dolphin Food and Wine Classic has a collaborative tasting experience featuring Celebrity Chefs Michael Mina and Todd English. The James Beard Award-winning chefs Michael Mina and Todd English will host the exclusive experience on November 21st, from 3:30 – 5 PM for a limited number of guests. The Swan and Dolphin Food and Wine Classic has never missed for us. We seriously recommend you check it out, and if you can’t this year, definitely next year (assuming it’s back). The Disney World parks are the most magical place on earth, but before the magic can begin, you have to pull into the parking lot and park first. EPCOT parking lot Walt Disney Imagineering just revealed a new AI-assisted technology that could significantly change how we park at Disney and potentially automate Parking Cast Members. At the 2026 Disney Accelerator Demo Day at Walt Disney Studios, Disney showcased technology Imagineering developed alongside four technology companies during the four-month Accelerator program: Promise, OpenArt, FieldAI, Physical Intelligence, and Simile. ©Disney FieldAI, a general-purpose robot developer, partnered with Disney Experiences Technology and Walt Disney Imagineering R&D to explore how autonomous robots could help direct vehicles to parking spaces. These Cars-themed parking assistants have a sign overhead with directional arrows to guide drivers, warn drivers to slow down as they approach, and even give a thumbs-up when drivers pull far enough ahead. Additionally, they’re equipped with illuminated light wands to direct traffic like a Parking Cast Member. ©Disney Disney has not yet announced plans to bring this into the Disney Parks, as the technology is still being developed. FieldAI is currently developing technology that lets the robots navigate “complex terrain and unpredictable weather.” That would include sloping or under-construction parking lots, plus frequent heavy rain and thunderstorms in Central Florida. Look at this rain! Additionally, Disney is considering how the technology could be used outside of these parking assistants. Gary Daniels, Senior Vice President of Products & Experiences at Disney Experiences Technology, discussed using similar robotics to bring autonomous robot characters from WALL-E to the parks for meet-and-greets. Imagineering is currently exploring how robots’ navigation and environmental awareness capabilities could add to character experiences. WALL-E meet-and-greet at Pixar Place Hotel We’ll be sure to keep you updated on this new technology, so stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more! Disney Springs is packed with food options, so no matter what you’re in the mood for, there’s something for you to try. Whether you’re craving an elevated meal at a celebrity chef-led restaurant or some of the best cookies around, Disney Springs has you covered. Taiyaki! We recently stopped by YeSake at Disney Springs to see if it’s as good as we remember, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is it still worth a stop on your next trip to Disney World’s shopping center? Let’s find out together! Atmosphere Tucked away on the West Side of Disney Springs, YeSake is a small kiosk serving a surprisingly large variety of international flavors! You’ll find a small selection of outdoor tables to eat at. YeSake Menu Here, you can find Japanese-inspired street food and build-your-own Poke Bowls, as well as specialty drinks including boba tea, Asian beers, and, of course, sake. The menu! And now, onto the main event — the food! Drinks To drink, we picked up the Boba Tea for $8. This is available in Hokkaido Black Milk, Strawberry Milk, and Taro Milk flavors, and we got the Taro. Taro Milk Boba Tea Taro is one of our favorite boba flavors because it’s usually very sweet and creamy, but unfortunately, YeSake’s Taro boba was underwhelming. The taro flavor tastes more like ube and wasn’t too sweet, and while we weren’t fans, this could be a plus if you’re looking for a not-too-sweet drink. The tapioca pearls were nice and chewy but tasted bland with little to no flavor. Combined with the very mild taro, it left us disappointed in the lack of flavor. Taro Milk Boba Tea Eats For the food, we grabbed YeSake’s Favorite for $15. This is made with sliced beef, lettuce, cabbage, onion, cucumber, pickled red ginger, tempura crunch, and spicy mayo. YeSake’s Favorite The beef was cooked well done while still being tender and soft. The cucumber, lettuce, cabbage, and onion added a crunch, while the pickled ginger added a little snap and spice. The rice at the bottom was fluffy and very fresh. The spicy mayo was creamy, salty, and a little sweet, adding a lot of flavor. This was very light, and with a huge portion size, it’s definitely worth the price. YeSake’s Favorite Then, we got the Chicken Bun with Sweet Teriyaki Chicken for $6.50. Chicken Bun The bun itself is super fluffy and airy, the exact texture you’re looking for in a steamed bun. The sweet Teriyaki chicken filling is very sweet, reminiscent of a barbecue flavor, but the texture was mushy and lacking any crunch. We wish this had a more varied bite! Chicken Bun Next up, we tried the Taiyaki for $6.75. This is a sweet red-bean stuffed pastry with Bavarian cream. Taiyaki This Taiyaki has a crunchy outside with a fluffy interior, holding a sweet and slightly salty red bean paste filling. The red bean had a starchy, paste-like texture that was a little dry. It’s served with Bavarian cream, but it wasn’t enough to redeem the dryness. We tried it a few years ago and loved it, but it’s become significantly drier. If you already have a drink to pair with it, it’s a unique and affordable option for a not-too-sweet dessert. Taiyaki Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… You’re an adventurous eater. This is totally going to be your place if you love Japanese food and want to try some different foods you might not have tried before. There are lots of sauces and toppings to add, and you can try dishes like Ahi Tuna Poke and tofu, too. You’re looking for affordable bites. Smaller dishes can be priced around $6 to $7, and the bowls are around $13. Don’t forget to add on some sauces, too, since only the Yum Yum Sauce is an additional cost. It’s also nice to grab a quick bottle of soda or water for around $4. You need a quick and easy snack. Since YeSake serves street food, it’s easy to grab small bites to keep you going. One of the bowls can be a light lunch, or the Chicken Bun or Karage can hold you over while you head to your next stop. You should skip this Disney World spot if… You’re ready for a bigger meal. YeSake is great for small dishes or snacks, but we wouldn’t plan to have an entire feast here. It’s nice for a quick lunch, or if you’re looking for something to hold you over until your dinner reservation. It’s an easy place to grab savory snacks since there are so many sweets at Disney Springs. You don’t want to search for tables. YeSake is a food kiosk, so it doesn’t have any set tables indoors. You’ll need to eat outside, and while there are some tables in the area, if it’s full, you might be able to walk around a bit before you find a spot. Don’t forget that Florida has some wild weather, too. You’re looking for the best meal of your entire trip. We do love YeSake, but we wouldn’t say this food will completely blow you away. If you’re already at Disney Springs, it might be worth a stop, but this typically isn’t a place we go home talking about for months after. Overall We enjoyed our meal at YeSake, but as with most Asian food in Disney World, it didn’t blow us away. Most of you can find similar items at Asian restaurants near your home, so it’s more of an I’m-craving-Asian-food-in-Disney-World vibe than a You-NEED-this-life-changing-meal recommendation. If you like Asian food and you’re already at Disney Springs, it’s an affordable and tasty option. But even after trying it again, we still think it needs an intervention to make it a must-eat! Our YeSake spread! In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond. Make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news and more! For most guests, the holiday season arrives at Magic Kingdom as if by magic. For 6-year-old wish kid, Wednesday, it began with an invitation from Jack Skellington and Sally to put the final touches of Christmas cheer on their corner of Halloween Town. As the biggest fan of Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas and all things holidays, Wednesday had a special wish: to help transition Walt Disney World from Halloween to Christmas. Alongside Jack, Sally, Disney, and Make-A-Wish, Wednesday and her sisters got to do just that, with some festive adventures and surprises along the way. From Halloween to Christmas Town For Wednesday and her family, Jack and Sally’s story is more than a favorite movie. Their shared love of the film, combined with a passion for celebrating the holidays, has made the story a cherished part of their family traditions. After facing a difficult medical journey and uncertainty, Wednesday’s wish created an unforgettable memory with the people she loves most. When asked whether she likes celebrating Halloween or Christmas more, Wednesday enthusiastically exclaimed, “Christmas!” Good thing she was in the perfect place – Wednesday was about to get a head start on her favorite season, in true Christmas Town fashion. While pumpkins and scarecrows were traded for wreaths and twinkling lights on Main Street, U.S.A., Wednesday and her sisters joined Jack and Sally to help transform their meet and greet location from Halloween Town to Christmas Town for the holiday season. Before decorating, the girls warmed up by playing a couple rounds of “Hide and Go Shriek,” led by Jack, as they explored every inch of Halloween Town, finding the perfect hiding spots. Professionals at the game, Wednesday and her sisters quickly noticed that a certain transparent friend was missing. Soon, the whole family was helping search for Jack’s loyal ghost dog, Zero, turning the adventure into a scavenger hunt. Once everyone was tired from hiding, seeking, and shrieking, the fun shifted from playtime to performance time. Sally shared that her favorite song to perform is “Silent Fright,” though her rendition involved far less singing and far more dramatic posing. Wednesday was ready with a favorite of her own, “What’s This?” from – you guessed it – Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. The girls took turns showing off their respective theatrical skills, complete with cartwheels, dance parties, and enthusiastic cheers of “encore!” from their biggest fans. It was the perfect celebration for a family whose love of the story and memories together inspired the wish in the first place. But the fun didn’t stop there, as a special surprise was waiting just around the corner. A Surprise Mistletoe-ken of Magic What’s this? What’s this? Presented to Wednesday was a unique snowflake ornament created just for her, fashioned after the first snowflake that Jack discovers after stumbling upon Christmas Town and marveling at the snow. Wednesday helped find the perfect spot for the frosty bauble on Jack’s Christmas tree, leaving behind a piece of magic for guests to enjoy all season long and officially becoming part of Halloween Town’s holiday celebration. Waiting in a wrapped present under the tree was a matching ornament for Wednesday to take home and hang on her own tree. Inspired by one of the film’s most iconic moments, the snowflake serves as a memory of the time she brought a little extra holiday spirit to Walt Disney World. More Than a Wish This season brings magic for families in many ways, and so does the power of a wish. Wednesday’s wish allowed her family to step into the world of their favorite film, creating joyful memories that will last long after the holidays end. Wednesday’s mom, Kelly, said it best. “If we do ever have bad times again, I always think about the better times. But this is one memory that will always stick out. It’s the beginning of the rest of our lives.” Making wishes like Wednesday’s come true is only possible through the real magic of the longstanding collaboration between Disney and Make-A-Wish. Disney is the world’s largest wish granter for the organization, with a Disney wish being granted every hour of every day. For Wednesday, her Disney wish experience was one filled with festive fun and surprises that only Jack and Sally could deliver. From playing silly games with her sisters, to unwrapping a one-of-a-kind Christmas keepsake (perfect for Wednesday, who said her favorite part of the holiday is receiving presents), each moment was thoughtfully crafted just for her. The experience also offered something even more meaningful: the opportunity for the entire family to share this experience together, celebrating each other and a story that they love. And each year, as her snowflake ornament finds its place on their family’s Christmas tree, Wednesday will be reminded of the day she visited Jack and Sally and helped them bring the spirit of the season to Halloween Town. The Disney rumor mill is pretty much always swirling, and we’re here to tell you what’s real, what’s fake, and what’s to be determined. Magic Kingdom Often, we see rumors pop up online before official announcements are made, and today we’re breaking down some of the common rumors we’ve seen this week from Disney World to Tokyo Disneyland! Christmas Decorations go up on November 1st While Magic Kingdom‘s Halloween decorations were promptly removed on November 1st, they weren’t replaced with Christmas decor, as Disney World fans had hoped. A rumor started circulating that Disney puts up Christmas decorations at Magic Kingdom every year on November 1st, so we went back and tracked it to see what day exactly Disney decks the halls. Magic Kingdom Christmas tree Magic Kingdom’s Christmas tree was installed on November 3rd, 2025; November 2nd, 2024; November 3rd, 2023; and November 2nd, 2022. And like clockwork, the Christmas tree went up for 2026 on November 3rd! The rumor that Disney puts up Christmas decorations on November 1st every year is just a rumor. Magic Kingdom Christmas tree Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Changes Disney reimagined Big Thunder Mountain Railroad this summer with some major changes, including the removal of some fan-favorite critters. But rumors have been circulating over the past few weeks that Disney was reinstalling the opossums, so we had to check it out for ourselves. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad We rode Big Thunder Mountain yesterday and can confirm that the opossums are back on the ride! Disney confirmed that the Mom and Dad opossums are back in their tree home, and their babies will move back onto their tree branch in the near future. The rumors are true! They’re back! Holiday parties are canceled during rain After a Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party night was canceled due to heavy rain this fall, Disney fans have been wondering if this year’s Christmas parties could also be canceled due to rain. While Disney hasn’t released a specific plan for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, it did announce a rainy-day policy for Jollywood Nights. The Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Map Disney has confirmed that Jollywood Nights will continue in most weather, so you don’t need to worry about a little rain canceling your night out. However, if there’s rain, thunder, or lightning in the area, Disney might cancel some outdoor entertainment offerings, like Glisten! or the Twilight Soiree at the Tip Top Club, and most outdoor character meet-and-greets will move indoors. Phineas and Ferb at Jollywood Nights The Jungle Cruise is permanently closing at Tokyo Disneyland The Jungle Cruise is a super popular opening-day attraction at Tokyo Disneyland, and fans started panicking when Disney announced an abrupt closure for the ride. Back in 2025, Tokyo Disneyland’s parent company, the Oriental Land Company, released concept art for a total overhaul of Adventureland, which would demolish the original Jungle Cruise and replace it with attractions inspired by Up, The Incredibles, and more Disney films. Tokyo Disneyland fans thought this closure meant the end of the Jungle Cruise. ©Tokyo Disney However, the closure is only three months long, and Disney quietly announced a reopening date. The attraction will be closed from January 6, 2027, through March 31, 2027. Disney hasn’t announced the official reason for the closure, but since the ride is confirmed to reopen as the Jungle Cruise, it’s likely just a routine refurbishment. ©Disney Tokyo We’ll be sure to keep you updated on more Disney news and rumors, so stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more! Have you ever thought about getting a sugar-coated, maple-drizzled Hawaiian roll on a stick from a corn dog stand? That, right there, is the fun of getting Disney food! This looks delicious! You know that here at DFB we’re always on the hunt for tasty eat and treats at Disneyland Resort! It doesn’t matter if it’s a big restaurant or a small snack stand, because you never know what you’ll find. Not only do we like eating the food (which we do LOVE to do), but we like letting you know of hidden snacks you’d never guess are found in certain places. So, we’re excited to tell you about this new snack! The two parks at Disneyland Resort have some of our favorite on-property eats, but don’t sleep on Downtown Disney! After all, it is Disney’s shopping and dining district. There are a ton of options when it comes to eating at Downtown Disney, from full meals to light bites. Downtown Disney We stopped by a place called Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs, which is a quick-service snack kiosk that serves speciality hand-dipped items. You’ll find it located near the LEGO Store. Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs We’ve come here quite a bit, and they have a decent selection of options for guests to try! Here’s the menu! Now, we didn’t come to a corn dog place to get a corn dog this time. What really caught our eye was the new Fried Maple Brown Sugar Hawaiian Rolls for $11.00, and OH…MY…GOODNESS! Wait…what’s that?! This snack was maple brown sugar Hawaiian rolls, fried and covered in cinnamon sugar, and topped with a maple-infused cream cheese and brown sugar icing. It’s as delightful as it sounds! The strongest taste note we got was the maple, and it tastes like pure maple. It seemed like we genuinely devoured this in seconds because it was that good! Fried Maple Brown Sugar Hawaiian Rolls This treat is everything you’d want with something like this. It’s ooey! It’s gooey! It’s perfectly sweet without being too overly sweet! We can’t get enough of this! The bread had a slight fried crunch to it, which really offset the heavy frosting. Crazy enough, with everything that this snack has to offer, we would say the crunch was arguably our favorite part. This is a 5/5 snack that you MUST get when you’re at Disneyland Resort! Since it’s at Downtown Disney, you don’t need a park ticket to try it. So delicious! We’ve bestowed it upon ourselves that it is our duty to make sure snacks like this get heard about, because it will change your life! For more, make sure to follow us at the Disney Food Blog. Save This Order For Your Next Disney Springs Run
Disney4me posted a topic in Disney Food/Restaurants
There are a LOT of restaurants to choose from around Disney World, from the theme parks and Disney Springs to the resort hotels, so how should you decide? Sliders, YUM! That’s where we come in! We’re here to help you plan your vacation from start to finish with tips and tricks on what to ride, where to stay, and, of course, where to eat. Today, we’re focusing on Disney Springs. We’ve put together a full meal from drinks to dessert, so you know what’s worth spending your money on! Let’s check it out! Drinks To start, we’re headed to Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’. You may be asking why we’re going here, but it’s for a good reason: They’re famous for their Moonshine. They have a bunch of different flavors to choose from, including Strawberry Lemonade, Sweet Tea, and more, but the real reason we come here is for the refillable squeeze bottles. You can purchase one of these 22-ounce bottles for $24 and come back for $16 refills in the same bottle! So, not only are you getting a great deal, but you’ll also be able to walk around with it! And you can come back time and time again to try all of the different flavors. Homecomin’ Squeeze Bottle Appetizers Now, it’s time to start eating! For your appetizers, you’re going to want to go Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar. Themed after Indiana Jones, this lounge serves delicious light bites, perfect for an appetizer before your main meal. Try the Air Pirate’s Cargo Loaded Pretzel, the Three All-Beef Sliders, or the Chicken on the Egg — they’re all fantastic! And if you visit during a special holiday, they may have a themed menu! Halloween may be over, but Christmas is right around the corner! We’ll keep you updated with those specialty menus when they’re announced. Chicken on the Egg Entrees For our entrees, we’re headed to The BOATHOUSE. This table-service restaurant serves dishes from both the land and the sea — there are so many options that everyone is bound to find something they like! This meal may also come with a waterfront view depending on where you sit. And did I talk about the bread that’s served here? Because YUM! Some of the more popular dishes you can find here include the Maine Style Lobster Roll, their Gibsons Heritage Steaks, and their Shrimp and Seafood Boils. The BOATHOUSE Desserts Now, I’m going to give you a couple of options for dessert because one of them comes with a stipulation. The first option is Gideon’s Bakehouse, but ONLY during Hot Cookie Hour. This happens daily from 2 PM to 3 PM and again from 7 PM to 8 PM. During Hot Cookie Hour, you can get one of their HUGE chocolate chip cookies WARMED, topped with a scoop of homemade vanilla ice cream! You can also get it without the ice cream, but that’s what makes it SO good! Just the cookie will cost $6, and with the ice cream will cost $10, excluding tax. Hot Cookie Hour! The second option is Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew. This quick-service location serves warm, handmade donuts in a variety of flavors, as well as specialty cold brews — it’s the perfect place to satisfy your sweet tooth! You can choose from a handful of classic donuts, including glazed, chocolate frosted, strawberry frosted, and more, OR you can go for a funky donut, like Fruity Pebbles or Maple Double Bacon. Not funky enough for you? Try the Peanut Butter Explosion, Apple Streusel, or Dulce de Leche! Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew The next time you’re headed to Disney Springs, be sure to remember this list so you know where to go! The new year is right around the corner, and that means a new year of additions, changes, and adjustments happening all over the Disney World parks! EPCOT Rope Drop Crowds Some of them we won’t know about until they happen, while others we know have been in progress for years, or we’ve already gotten a heads-up that they’re on the way. If you’ve got a trip planned for Disney World in January 2027 and you know you plan on visiting EPCOT, there’s a pretty big change on THREE different days that you’ll want to keep in mind, because it absolutely WILL affect your rope drop plans. The runDisney Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend takes place around the resort from January 6th – January 10th, 2027, and this means that crowds around the parks will (usually) increase exponentially during an otherwise quieter time of year. If you’re someone who knows that you’ll be visiting during this time, there’s been a change to EPCOT’s hours that is 100% going to affect your morning plans. EPCOT The race itself lasts for four days, and for three of those days, EPCOT will be opening late! On Thursday, January 7th, Saturday, January 9th, and Sunday, January 10th, the park will open at 10 AM instead of the usual 9 AM. This also means that Early Entry for hotel guests will begin at 9:30 AM instead of 8:30 AM. Early Entry at EPCOT The reason for the delay is to allow runners more time to move through the race, which goes through all of the Disney World parks, especially EPCOT. Delaying the opening time for regular guests also allows more time for Cast Members to ensure that the course is entirely cleared of any debris or changes that may have happened during the race. It’s important to note that transportation around the parks will still be available as usual, but traffic is expected to be worse during race weekends due to volume and road closures. While Disney World buses can navigate these easily and know where to go, if you’re driving your own car, you may find yourself getting a bit confused, so allow additional travel time. ©Disney EPCOT is open until 9 PM on all three days, which means that unfortunately you’ve got two hours less of park time, whether you’re participating in the race or not. Keep in mind, as well, that with this time adjustment, it’s very likely that many non-race guests will choose to visit EPCOT on Friday the 8th to get the full park experience, so crowds could be higher. Meet Hinata. If you ask him how he ended up on the opening team of the Disney Adventure, he’ll likely flash a shy smile and take you all the way back to when he was just a kid stepping onto the Disney Dream for the very first time. Like so many families, 11-year-old Hinata was excited for their vacation, coming all the way from Japan for a Disney Cruise Line trip. But beyond the unforgettable memories that unlimited ice cream and days on the beach can provide, Hinata’s family was most captivated by the guest service of the crew. With their dedicated dining team throughout the cruise, Hinata and his brother couldn’t wait to visit the dining room and to see their servers performing little magic tricks and telling jokes. That’s where he met Lucio, a warm, welcoming server taking care of his family during dinner. That cruise ended, but it lit a spark that stayed with him. Years later, when it was time to start looking for career opportunities, Hinata already had his inspiration. He remembered how he felt on the Disney Dream and he wanted to recreate that feeling for others. That drive led him straight to Epcot’s Japan Pavilion as part of the Disney Cultural Representative Program. Immersed in the vibrant energy of Walt Disney World Resort, Hinata found his stride. Surrounded by mentors and fellow Disney Programs participants cheering him on, he applied to become a teppanyaki chef, and just like that, a profession turned into a passion. “This is my dream job,” Hinata said, even though it wasn’t part of his studies at university. “I wanted to try something new. Being a chef seemed like something exciting to try, to make people happy, and I was thankful to have the opportunity, and now, I love it.” Hinata said. Fast forward to the arrival of the Disney Adventure, Disney Cruise Line’s eighth ship in the fleet and first to homeport in Asia. Hinata landed a spot on the opening team as a teppanyaki chef, excited to be closer to home, family and ready to embark on new experiences. Picture this: Hinata steps off the new hire bus, taking a breath and soaking in the excitement of his first day. He looks up, and who is standing there to welcome the new crew members? Lucio. The Lucio. The very same server who had looked after his family all those years ago on the Disney Dream. “I have a photo album back home from that trip on the Disney Dream, and I looked at it almost every day,” Hinata shared, explaining why it didn’t take long for him to recognize Lucio even 12 years later. So much time had passed, but fate brought them back together. In a the full-circle moment, the man who once served a wide-eyed kid on vacation was now welcoming that same kid, all grown up and ready to be his coworker. For Lucio, the photos brought him back. “As soon as I saw that picture, I remembered the brothers had their suit jackets and shorts, with such style, it felt like yesterday. This was proof of how long those Disney Cruise Line memories and the magic can last for a family. To have that kind of impact — that’s what makes this job so special,” Lucio said. And the magic didn’t stop there. When the Disney Adventure sailed into Japan on its way to Singapore, Lucio was right there to welcome Hinata’s family back aboard, only this time, as a proud colleague greeting old friends. The kindness a cast member (or crew member) shows today can echo across years and miles, shaping a future we never could have predicted. To Hinata, Lucio, and every dreamer out there looking for their next adventure: your story is just getting started. Some heroes wear capes. Others wear uniforms. And at Cotino, a Storyliving by Disney community in California’s Coachella Valley, Disney recently brought those worlds together for a special day celebrating military families. In honor of Veterans and Military Families Month, Storyliving by Disney welcomed families from Marine Air Ground Task Force Training Command and Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms for an unforgettable experience filled with Disney and Pixar surprises, family activities and plenty of opportunities to make new memories together. The celebration was held in partnership with Blue Star Families, an organization Disney has proudly supported for more than 15 years. And there may have been one very famous mouse waiting to say hello. A Super Day at the Parr House The setting couldn’t have been more fitting. Families gathered for lunch overlooking the sparkling turquoise waters of Cotino Bay, with the Parr House serving as the backdrop for the day’s celebration. Inspired by the iconic mid-century home of everyone’s favorite super family from Pixar’s Incredibles 2, the Parr House offered military families the opportunity to step inside a piece of Pixar storytelling brought to life at Cotino. Disney-Pixar animators who helped create The Incredibles met with families and drew their favorite Pixar characters as part of Disney’s long tradition of honoring military service. (The Walt Disney Company/Abigail Nilsson) From there, families were treated to a special tour of the home and a superhero experience uniquely suited to the surroundings. Pixar artists joined the celebration to create one-of-a-kind portraits transforming participating family members into their own superheroes. Children also had the chance to enjoy arts and crafts on the event lawn, with plenty of time throughout the day simply to play, connect and enjoy being together. A Disney-Pixar animator who helped create The Incredibles draws Pixar characters for military families. (The Walt Disney Company/Abigail Nilsson) For Claire Bilby, senior vice president of Storyliving by Disney, the celebration reflects the kind of connection Storyliving by Disney hopes to foster both inside its communities and in the places they call home. “Being part of a community means being a good neighbor, and days like this are a wonderful example of what that can look like,” said Bilby. “We are proud to bring together military families, Disney storytellers and our Cotino community to create moments of connection and joy, while showing our appreciation for families who give so much through their service.” (The Walt Disney Company/Abigail Nilsson) A Little Extra Disney Magic Of course, no one told the families about one final surprise. Mickey Mouse arrived to spend time with the families and pose for photos, adding a little extra Disney magic to an already memorable day. “Military families give so much in service to our country, and they deserve moments that are simply about being together and making memories,” said Blue Star Families Senior Vice President of External Affairs Ashley Saville. “We’re grateful to Disney for helping create a day filled with joy, connection and a few unforgettable surprises for these families.” Mickey Mouse greets a child of a military family during a special military family day at Cotino, a Storyliving by Disney community during National Veterans and Military Families Month. (The Walt Disney Company/Abigail Nilsson) For one participating military family, the experience was a chance to step away from everyday life and simply enjoy time together. “Military life asks a lot of the entire family, so having a day where we could just be together, have fun and see the kids light up was incredibly special,” said Blue Star Families member, Australia Herrera. “From seeing ourselves as superheroes to meeting Mickey, there were surprises around every corner.” The celebration reflects Disney’s longstanding admiration for the U.S. military community. Supporting service members, veterans and their families is a tradition stretching back to Walt and Roy Disney, who both contributed to the World War I war effort. Since 2012, Disney has contributed more than $27 million in funding and media support to nonprofit organizations focused on bringing joy to veterans and military families. Families were treated to a day of special activities making hero mask and each family received special Mickey Mouse plush figures and a teddy bear from Cotino community residents. (The Walt Disney Company/Abigail Nilsson) Made With a Little Help From the Cotino Community The celebration actually began a day earlier. On November 3, Cotino residents and Disney Cast Members joined forces through Disney VoluntEARS to decorate special teddy bears for the children attending the following day’s celebration. Each bear was created as a small expression of appreciation and was waiting for its new owner when families arrived at Cotino. It was also an opportunity for residents to play a personal role in welcoming these families to the community. “What makes Cotino special is the sense of community we’re creating together. Seeing our residents and Disney Cast Members come together to make this day even more meaningful for military families is a wonderful reflection of that spirit,” said Cotino Vice President of Operations Jay Critcher. Disney-Pixar animators who helped create The Incredibles joined Disney and Blue Star Families to host military families from Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms for a special day inside the community’s iconic Parr House, inspired by the iconic family home featured in Pixar’s Incredibles 2. (The Walt Disney Company/Abigail Nilsson) For Cotino residents who helped prepare for the celebration, the experience was also a meaningful opportunity to show their appreciation for military families and take part in a Disney tradition of honoring those who serve. “We appreciate the opportunity that Cotino has given us to volunteer to help the families of veterans and members of the military,” said Cotino resident, Larry . “We know the struggle they must go through, especially during the holidays. We were so happy to help.” The City of Rancho Mirage mayor and councilmembers join Blue Star Families’ SVP of External Affairs and Storyliving by Disney representatives pose in front of the Parr House as Disney hosted military families from Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms for a special day inside the community’s iconic Parr House, inspired by the iconic family home featured in Pixar’s Incredibles 2. (The Walt Disney Company/Abigail Nilsson) At Cotino, being a good neighbor means finding meaningful ways to support the people and organizations that make the Coachella Valley such a special place. Together with Blue Star Families, Disney Cast Members and Cotino residents, this celebration offered another opportunity to put that spirit into action. And for the military families at the heart of it all, the day was simply about being together, making memories and getting the superhero treatment they deserve. If you’ve stepped foot into Disney’s Animal Kingdom, you know it’s a wild place packed with an expedition of flavors. Recently, guests got two new ways to satisfy their sweet tooth with offerings that combine some iconic Disney favorites: churros and DOLE Whip. Behind two of these new creations is Chef Brad and his culinary team, who helped develop the delicious churro creations as part of a property wide competition known as the Churro-lympics. Back in April, the competition challenged culinary teams from across Walt Disney World to reimagine the classic Disney churro in creative and unexpected ways, while also encouraging them to get innovative, creative, and showcase their talents and passion. For Chef Brad, that meant creating flavors that feel globally inspired and full of discovery, just like the park itself. The end result? The Churro-misu Cold Brew and the DOLE Whip Pineapple and Chili-Lime and Churro Sundae. Working collaboratively to bring the concepts to life, Chef Brad and his team focused on layering familiar favorites with unexpected flavor combos that would surprise guests while fitting naturally within Animal Kingdom. How Do You Take Your Coffee? With Churros, of Course Rope dropping at Animal Kingdom? Start your day at Isle of Java with the Churro-misu Cold Brew. “With the Churro-misu Cold Brew, we wanted the flavors of the classic tiramisu,” said Chef Brad. “We started off with our Joffrey’s Cold Brew Coffee that’s sweetened, and then we added a mascarpone cream on top and dusted with some cocoa powder to give that classic tiramisu flavor and look. The drink is finished off with a nice crunchy churro.” The drink combines Joffrey’s rich coffee flavors with the sweetness of a classic churro, creating a treat that is both delicious, familiar, and uniquely Disney. Sweet and Spicy Meets Crunchy After taking in the sights and sounds along Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail or Maharajah Jungle Trek, guests looking for something refreshing can head to Warung Outpost, near Feathered Friends in Flight!, for the DOLE Whip Pineapple and Chili-Lime and Churro Sundae. “For the DOLE Whip Pineapple and Chili-Lime and Churro Sundae, we wanted to bring together two iconic Walt Disney World snacks: the churro and the DOLE Whip,” said Chef Brad. “Together, we layered tropical flavors with Latin-inspired accents. With our chili-lime marinated pineapple, we’ve added some sweet heat, acidity, and with the warm cinnamon crunchy churro, it balances sweet, tart, spicy, creamy, and crunchy all in one fun tropical sundae!” “So far, our guests are really enjoying the combination of two iconic Disney World snacks with a DOLE Whip Pineapple and Chili-Lime and Churro Sundae. Something that’s nice and cool for a hot day that they can walk around the park and enjoy,” said Chef Brad. You Could Eat an Award-Winning Churro Creation For the culinary team, these menu items are more than just a new snack. They showcase the creativity and collaboration that drives Disney’s Animal Kingdom’s culinary team forward. Chef Brad said, “Both of these were gold medal-winning entries in the Walt Disney World Churro-lympics competition that represent our team’s ability to take classic flavors and iconic snacks and turn them into new, delicious, and exciting offerings for our guests.” Creating new menu items is an important part of how the culinary team continues to enhance your experience throughout the park. By introducing fresh flavors and inventive new concepts, the team helps ensure every visit offers something new to discover. “The flavors and cuisines that embody Animal Kingdom are all part of the story that the chef team gets to tell through our food offerings throughout the park,” explained Chef Brad. “It is important to consistently offer our guests new, trendy, and flavorful dishes to ensure every time they visit Disney’s Animal Kingdom they can partake in a culinary journey. There are so many unique flavors and cuisines that represent the regions of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and we pride ourselves on being able to share that along with our creative vision with our cast and guests.” Meet the Cast Behind the Dapper Dans READ MORE How Chef Jerry Built His Disney Story One Recipe at a Time READ MORE How a Chef Turns Puzzles into Popular Plates at Jock Lindsey’s READ MORE The post Going for Gold: How the Churro-lympics Spawned Two New Churro Creations appeared first on Disney Parks Blog. If you’re planning a visit to Universal Orlando’s Epic Universe, you’ve probably already got a long list of all the rides you want to tackle when you go there, BUT there’s no guarantee that all rides will be open during your visit. Fyre Drill Now, sometimes rides close due to technical issues, while other times, rides have scheduled closures for general maintenance. Well, we’ve found out about a scheduled ride closure in EPIC Universe you may want to be aware of if you’re visiting the park soon. Fyre Drill in Epic Universe’s How To Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk will be closed from November 9th through November 10th. This is in addition to the previous ride closure we told you about happening on January 25th through February 4th, 2027. Fyre Drill Fyre Drill is a water ride where Ruffnut and Tuffnut have transformed Berk’s Fyre Skööl into an interactive boat battle where you will get VERY wet. Once riders board the boats, they blast their water cannons at targets, but also at other boats. Needless to say, it’s probably a ride you’ll want to ride in the summer, but maybe not so much during the cooler days of winter. Fyre Drill The good news is that this is the only closure for the month in Epic Universe, although there are some other closures you might want to know about in Universal Orlando. That includes Hogwarts Express, which will be closed in both Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure. Hogwarts Express in Universal’s Islands of Adventure You’ll also want to keep in mind that the holiday season begins in Universal Orlando on November 14th and runs through January 3rd, 2027. During this time, you’ll see holiday decor, special character meet-and-greets (like the Grinch), special foods and beverages, holiday entertainment, and more. Christmas in Hogsmeade We’ll keep an eye out for more Universal Orlando changes and updates, so stay tuned to DFB for more. It looks like the future of Disney’s Frozen is heading into the unknown! ©Disney D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event took place in August this year, and among the many exciting teasers and announcements was a look at the upcoming Frozen 3. We’re officially one year away from the next movie in the beloved series, as Frozen 3 is set to release in theaters on November 24th, 2027. The adventure isn’t ending there, as Disney has been vocal about wanting the series to end with Frozen 4. However, it looks like it may be a long time until we see Frozen 4! Kristen Bell (Anna), Idina Menzel (Elsa), Josh Gad (Olaf), and Jonathan Groff (Kristoff) are all coming back to Arendelle for Frozen 3, and we can’t wait! Disney hasn’t shared any exact details about the story, other than the short teaser at D23, which featured that Olaf may have a new girlfriend and there’s a wicked new villain whose powers could match up against Elsa. We also know that the next movie will feature Anna and Kristoff’s wedding. ©Disney Now, we may have gotten a first look at Frozen 3 during this year’s D23 Expo, but the movie was actually announced for the first time at D23 in 2024. Along with the Frozen 3 drop at that D23, Disney announced that Frozen 4 would follow. Jennifer Lee, the director and co-writer of the first two films, officially signed on to return for both movies back in 2024. ©Disney Collider’s Steve Weintraub spoke to the head of Disney Animation, Jared Bush, during the SCAD Savannah Film Festival. During the conversation, the topic of the next two Frozen films was brought up. According to Collider, Jared Bush was asked how much they considered Frozen 4 when making the plot for Frozen 3, and he said, “It’s tricky to answer that question.” They want to make a “consistent emotional arc for the residents of Arendelle that each movie can individually evolve rather than worrying solely about the plot.” ©Disney “I’d say for me personally — again, talking just for myself — I think you have to have a rough sense of emotionally where you want your characters to go, a sense of an emotional journey. The plot behind that, at least for me, is secondary to the character journey,” said Jared Bush. He also told Collider that Frozen 3 and 4 were planned to launch close together with a quick turnaround. However, that doesn’t really match what Jared said the team’s desire was to make each Frozen stand on its own while still building on what came before. ©Disney Collider provided another quote from Bush to get an idea of what the goal is with both Frozen 3 and Frozen 4. “Looking at Frozen 3 and what a Frozen 4 could look like, I know early on it was, ‘We’re going to put them right together, and they’re going to be out in the world. It’s going to happen quick.’ That’s not what we’re doing, for a lot of reasons. To me, an important one is that we want to make sure that Frozen 3 is the best movie it can possibly be, so that when you get to the end of the movie, you feel like you’ve watched a complete story. That it feels like something that feels fulfilling. That doesn’t always mean that everything is buttoned up, but it does mean that you have to be building to something that feels worthy of the end of a franchise that’s that important to people.” ©Disney It simply looks like the focus isn’t on Frozen 4 right now. Jared Bush was clear that the team doesn’t want to build Frozen 3 to work for Frozen 4. They want them to exist as two separate movies outside of each other, while still complementing each other in a coherent story. They don’t want Frozen 3 to be an incomplete lead-in to Frozen 4. So, what does this mean for the future of Frozen 4? ©Disney According to Collider, there’s a possibility of around a three-year separation between Frozen 3 and 4. However, Disney is willing to wait even longer to ensure one of their biggest franchises of all time is at its best. “Something I noticed, certainly for Disney Animation, is if the future story is great, it doesn’t matter how much time has passed,” said Bush. “And I’d say that for a musical, even more so. I think a little extra time is not a bad thing because the character is going to need to sing again.” ‘Frozen 3’ Outfits! There’s clearly a lot for Disney Animation to think about when it comes to this beloved franchise, especially when they want to make it perfect. For now, Frozen 3 is what’s on their mind, and then Frozen 4 will follow. We might be waiting a long time for that last movie, in the same way we waited for Zootopia 2. It’ll all be worth it in the end! For more of the latest Disney news and updates, make sure to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog. ALL The Easter Eggs We Spotted in The ‘Frozen 3’ Trailer! Disney World officially costs more than ever before. Shocker, right?! Well, don’t fret. We are here to help! Everything at FOOD by Swedish Chef Disney World does annual price increases in October. And this year was no different. We saw prices increase on tickets, food, drinks, and even annual passes. But you’re in luck. Even though prices have gone up a bit, we have done our due diligence by being in the parks every single day. So, we’ve done the hard work for you and have put together a list of what it’s going to cost you to eat three meals per day at Disney World next year. That way, you know what to save and you know what your food budget needs to look like! Let’s get into it! For this example, I’m going to be pricing out meals for a party of two on a 5-day vacation. They’ll have three meals per day, including breakfast at a quick-service restaurant, lunch at a budget-friendly table-service location, and a “fancier” dinner. We’ll take a look at a day at each Disney World theme park and Disney Springs. These are just some of the most popular foods and restaurants on property. And we will say, most prices will be comparable to the ones listed above! While this may be a lot of food for two people on a 5-day vacation and you may just want to snack around the parks, this shows the average cost of three meals per day on a Disney World vacation.
