  3. There is nothing quite like finding your new favorite snack in Disney World, other than trying a snack and wondering to yourself, “No! Why did Disney even make this?” And when you’re planning which treats and snacks you want to try on your next trip, it can be difficult to know which side of the line an item will fall into. Key Lime Dream Which is why we make sure to review EVERY new snack, drink, and treat across Disney World so you know what’s actually worth your time and money on your next visit. And we recently tried an all-new Key Lime drink, and we are bringing you our full review. On our last visit to Magic Kingdom, we stopped by Pinocchio’s Village Haus in Fantasyland to grab the Key Lime Dream for $6.99. This is a frozen drink made with Minute Maid limeade and key lime, topped with sweet cream and graham cracker crumbs. Key Lime Dream The strongest flavor in this drink had to be the tartness from the Key Lime; there was also a bit of subtle vanilla in some sips from the sweet cream, but the tart lime really overpowers all the other flavors. The sweet cream turned into a thick, icy consistency as it froze into the slush, but it did not add much creaminess or flavor other than the hint of vanilla. The graham crackers seemed to be more of a visual element and did not add any taste or texture to the drink itself. Key Lime Dream We also noticed that this left our mouths feeling pretty dry after each sip, likely due to the tart flavors. Overall, this was a bold and fun tart lime frozen slushy. If you are looking for authentic key lime flavors, that is not what you are going to get here, but if you love limeade and frozen drinks, you would probably enjoy this one a lot! 5. A LOT is happening over in Disneyland as part of a $1.9 billion expansion project known as DisneylandForward. This includes adding a brand new Coco ride to Disney California Adventure, as well as a new Avatar-themed land and a reimagined Tomorrowland. Avengers Campus is also getting a huge expansion with two new rides. ©Disney However, another part of the project is a massive new parking structure on the resort’s east side that’s currently under construction on a former employee parking lot. Well, according to The Orange County Register, that project has actually been scaled back a bit. The new parking structure is set to offer 6,000 spaces and has been designed to handle the huge influx of visitors Disney expects in the theme parks over the next five years after all the expansions and other projects are completed. However, Disneyland recently revised its building permits for the parking garage. Initially, the garage was supposed to have eight levels, but the new permits have reduced it to seven levels, with its size decreasing by about 4%. ©Disney The garage will include 316 electric vehicle charging stations, which is more than what was previously submitted. The parking structure will also have 18 shade canopies. A pedestrian bridge is also being built over Harbor Boulevard to connect the garage to the theme park esplanade. Disney has not yet revealed a completion date for the project, but it’s expected to be ready by the time the new Avengers Campus expansion opens, as well as the L.A. Summer Olympics. Current Disneyland parking structure The new structure means that the existing Disneyland bus drop-off and pick-up area along Harbor Boulevard will be relocated to Disneyland’s former Manchester employee parking lot near the I-5 freeway. Construction is underway for both the garage and pedestrian bridge, and temporary walkways surrounded by construction walls are going up at the Disneyland entrance. We’ll keep an eye out for more Disneyland updates, so stay tuned to DFB for more. It Just Got a Little More COMPLICATED To Enter Disneyland Going to Disneyland soon? 6. Disney World has a handful of spots that can turn a magical day into a hot, crowded MESS, and most people walk right into them. Disney World Of course, there are plenty of places you’ll WANT to be during your vacation. You’ll want to be on time for your dining reservations and your Lightning Lane return windows. You’ll probably want to be in front of Cinderella Castle at night for that perfect fireworks view. And of course, at some point, you’ll want to brave the gift shops to get that must-have souvenir. But there are also plenty of places you DON’T want to be in Disney World…and we’re sharing the details! The Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Queue at 2:20PM Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is a classic ride in Magic Kingdom, and in our opinion, it’s a must-do! But there’s probably one time that you should AVOID the line for Big Thunder — right after the parade. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Big Thunder is a great ride to check out DURING the Festival of Fantasy Parade because it’s pretty difficult to get to the back of Frontierland since the parade route blocks it off. So usually, the wait time drops for the popular coaster during the 2 PM parade. But as soon as it’s over and everyone sees that short wait time in the My Disney Experience app, they’ll rush over there. Big Thunder Mountain So avoid the line unless you want to wait much longer than expected! The smarter move is to already be on the Big Thunder side of the parade route before it gets roped off. Head back to Frontierland by about 1:45PM and hop in line while everyone else is staking out a curb. You’ll be walking off the ride right around the time the crowd shows up. If you miss that window, don’t chase it. Check back later in the afternoon or after dark instead. Disney World Magic Kingdom Lightning Lane Strategy for 2027 The Line for the Express Monorail at 9:30AM…or 9:45PM Most guests in Disney World aren’t waking up early enough to truly “rope drop” the parks (you know, get there BEFORE they open). In fact, we often see the largest swell of people arrive shortly after the parks open, which means that’s when you might find the longest lines at the entrance and especially the longest lines for the Express Monorail from the Transportation & Ticket Center (Magic Kingdom’s parking lot) to Magic Kingdom. Monorail line When that monorail line gets SUPER long around 9:30AM, you might even find that it’s faster to take the ferryboat or the Resort Monorail to get to the park instead. Generally, this rush of people will last until about mid-morning. Express Monorail station at Magic Kingdom The other time that the monorail line gets really excessive is right after the Happily Ever After fireworks end in the evening. Many people stay to watch the fireworks and then head back to the parking lot, so the transportation queue gets incredibly long. If you can avoid riding the monorail at either of those times, you’ll be a LOT less stressed! Magic Kingdom at night Here’s the good news: the park doesn’t close when the fireworks end. On fireworks nights this fall, Magic Kingdom has been staying open until 10PM or 11PM, so there’s no reason to join the stampede. Grab a snack, hop on a ride or two, or browse the Main Street shops, then stroll out once the crowd has thinned. On select nights, there’s even a second Disney Starlight parade, which is one more reason to stick around. 3 Reasons Staying at a Disney World Monorail Hotel Isn’t the Hack You Think It Is Starbucks or Joffrey’s at 10 AM First thing in the morning at the Disney World parks, you’ll get the rope drop crowds. Those are the people who are serious and dedicated to knocking out a few rides before the rest of the hordes arrive. Then a little later, you’ll get the guests who want to sleep in and not rush their morning. And unfortunately, those two groups of guests converge at all the Starbucks and Joffrey’s locations right around 10 AM. Starbucks line The latecomers snag coffee when they first arrive, and the rope droppers wait to get it until they’ve accomplished a few must-dos and the ride lines start to get long. That leaves you with lengthy queues for coffee from about 10 AM to early lunchtime. Don’t waste your time in line then! Iced Banana Bread Latte For reference, the in-park Starbucks spots are Main Street Bakery in Magic Kingdom, Connections Café in EPCOT, The Trolley Car Café in Hollywood Studios, and Creature Comforts in Animal Kingdom. All four sit in high-traffic spots near the front or center of their park, which is exactly why they get slammed when the late arrivals walk in. You also can’t order ahead through the Starbucks app at any of them, so there’s no skipping that line. Connections Cafe Another easy fix is to get your caffeine before you ever reach the park. Grab a cup at your hotel’s quick service spot or food court on the way to the bus, and you can walk right past that 10 AM line. And if you end up at Disney Springs later in your trip, the two Starbucks locations there DO take order-ahead through the Starbucks app. Hotel Coffee Crawl: Fans Have Been Talking About This Disney World Spot for Over 15 Years Toy Story Land in the Middle of the Afternoon There’s one spot that we pretty much always hate visiting in the middle of the afternoon, and that’s Toy Story Land! First of all, the land is at the back of the park, so it usually starts to get crowded around midday when Hollywood Studios visitors are halfway through their park lap. Your afternoon in Toy Story Land could look like this! In addition to that, we’re also convinced that it’s the absolute HOTTEST land in all of Disney World. Shade here is scarce, and that pavement makes things incredibly sweltering. The ride queues are mostly outdoors, and even the quick service spot only has outdoor tables. It’s an absolute nightmare in the summertime, so do yourself a favor and stop here in the morning or evening instead! Toy Story Mania If you DO end up here at 2PM, know where the relief is. The Toy Story Mania queue is indoors and air-conditioned, so it’s the best place in the land to wait out the heat. Roundup Rodeo BBQ is inside (and blissfully cool) as well, but it’s a table service restaurant, so you’ll want a reservation. And Mobile Order your Woody’s Lunch Box food so you’re not standing at the window in the sun. Roundup Rodeo Our favorite plan is to hit Toy Story Land first thing in the morning while it’s still cool, or to save it for after sunset. The whole land is strung with oversized lights and looks fantastic after dark, and the pavement has finally had a chance to cool off. Fans Have QUESTIONS About This Toy Story Land Change, and We’re Right There With Them The Hollywood Boulevard Restrooms at Rope Drop Another spot in Hollywood Studios that you should avoid? The restrooms at the start of Hollywood Boulevard during rope drop! Those bathrooms are located just after the park entrance, which means that after people wait in line to enter the park, they’re heading there first thing. Restrooms at the Hollywood Studios entrance They’re not excessively large either, so they can get a pretty long line if it starts to get crowded. Instead of using those, we recommend stopping at the bathrooms OUTSIDE the Hollywood Studios entrance, which are massive and often kept pretty clean. Restrooms outside of Hollywood Studios And if someone in your group realizes they need to go once you’re already inside, keep walking. There are more restrooms on Sunset Boulevard and throughout the rest of the park, and first thing in the morning, the farther you get from the front gate, the shorter the wait is likely to be. Will Disney World Finally Fix This Awkward Bathroom Problem in Its New Park Expansion?! World of Disney on a Saturday Night Heading to Disney Springs on Saturday night? Well, you and EVERYONE ELSE. Disney Springs gets really crowded on the weekends because visitors and locals head out to do some shopping and get a delicious dinner. So that means that on a Saturday night, World of Disney is probably the busiest you’ll see it. Crowds at World of Disney If you like shopping shoulder-to-shoulder with a bunch of strangers, be our guest. But personally, we prefer an emptier shopping experience, so we’ll be heading to World of Disney first thing in the morning instead! World of Disney If mornings don’t work for you, a weekday is your next best bet, since that’s when more visitors are in the parks, and more locals are at work. It also helps to walk in with a list. World of Disney is the biggest Disney store in all of Disney World, and it’s easy to lose an hour wandering from room to room when you’re inching along with a crowd. 7 NEW Restaurants Are Opening at Disney World in 2027 Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe at Lunchtime And finally, let’s talk about Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe. As one of the busiest quick-service restaurants in all of Disney World, this spot is bound to get crowded during any major mealtime. But there’s nothing quite like the lunch rush! Cosmic Ray’s Seating During the hours of 11-1 PM, it gets SO packed inside Cosmic Ray’s that it’s hard to walk past the registers and sometimes nearly impossible to find a table indoors. If you’d like to eat here, we suggest dining during an off-peak mealtime or later in the evening. Cosmic Ray’s If lunchtime is your only option, Mobile Order is your friend. Place your order in the My Disney Experience app before you get hungry, then let the app know when you’ve arrived and head to the pickup counter. You’ll still have to hunt for a table, but you’ll skip the lines at the registers. It also means you don’t have to figure out which of the three ordering bays serves the food you want. Food from Cosmic Ray’s On your next trip to Disney World, make sure to AVOID all of these crowded and chaotic places! We’ll keep you in the loop with the crowd trends and all the tips you need to successfully navigate the parks. Be sure to stay up to date on everything coming to Disney World in 2027 with DFB! 7. I’ve eaten at every quick-service restaurant in the four Disney World parks, the resorts, and Disney Springs. That’s over a hundred and fifty dining spots! Katsura Grill Beef Udon Across those dining spots, I’ve tried hundreds of food items, and some were much better than others. But along the way, some food items and restaurants surprised me! Even though these spots aren’t exactly fan favorites, they’ve got menu items that I really love. Pinocchio Village Haus Starting off the list, I have a restaurant that fans love to hate: Pinocchio Village Haus. I know that most of the menu here is less-than-beloved, but I can’t hide it anymore… I’m OBSESSED with the Buffalo Chicken Flatbread! Loaded with chicken, ranch, a hint of buffalo spice, and cheese — what’s not to love?! Buffalo Chicken Flatbread I find this to be the best of the flatbreads on the menu here and honestly worth a visit. When going to the parks solo, I like to order one of these bad boys and head upstairs to the balcony seating to get a few minutes in the peace, quiet, and air conditioning. Not a bad solo lunch date! See Our Pinocchio Village Haus Review Here! Connections Eatery Okay, in a park full of interesting and fun cultural eats, Connections Eatery can get seriously overlooked at EPCOT. It’s the go-to spot for basic American fare, but there’s one dish that I think is a standout, and that’s the General Tso Chicken Salad. This is one of the better quick-service salads in Disney World, and it comes with a decent portion of chicken. General Tso Chicken Salad There’s a great mix of textures and flavors here, and this is my go-to meal for that mid-week vacation moment when you’re really craving a vegetable. This restaurant can get skipped in favor of dining in the World Showcase, but if you’re stopping by, this salad is my recommendation. See the Connections Eatery Review Here! Pizza al Taglio Tucked away in the back of the Italy Pavilion at EPCOT is Pizza al Taglio, a little dining window that’s only open seasonally. You’ll likely be able to stop by during the busier travel seasons of the year, but the hours are hit-and-miss. However, if you can find it open, there’s some delicious pizza to be had! So! Cheesy! The Pizza Pepperoni, in my personal opinion, is the best quick-service pizza in Disney World. The slices are thick and laden with chewy pepperonis with crispy edges. Cheesy, filling, and a great “snack around the world” stop to share. Check Out Our Review of the Pizza Window Here! Katsura Grill This next one shocked and surprised even me when I tried it for the first time, and now I love to shout it from the rooftops. We often tell folks to skip Katsura Grill in the Japan Pavilion because many of their food items are overpriced and they underdeliver. But man, there’s just something spectacular about their Beef Udon! A forkful of noodles I find myself keeping coming back whenever I am in the mood for something cozy and filling. The portion is big, and the flavors are rich and savory. Most of their noodle dishes here are pretty good, actually, so if you find yourself at this location, try ordering one of them instead of the sushi or chicken. See Our Katsura Grill Review Here! ABC Commissary We’ve been singing the praises of ABC Commissary here at DFB ever since the restaurant got a major menu overhaul post-pandemic. But there’s one dish on the menu there that seems to fly under the radar, and I have ordered it time and time again. Say hello to the Shrimp Tacos! Shrimp Tacos Perhaps my favorite thing about this entree is the mix of textures with the chewy shrimp, soft mango salsa, and the crunchy onions. I also love the blend of savory and sweet flavors with the hint of spiciness from the sauce they put on top. All in all, this is a step above your traditional theme park fare, and not enough people are talking about it! See Our Thoughts on ABC Commissary Here! Backlot Express Also nearby in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is Backlot Express. This restaurant gets raked over the COALS and is often thought of as one of the worst places to eat in the park. But when I want a basic (and pretty good) salad, I come here and order the Southwest Salad. Southwest Salad It’s topped with roasted corn and avocado, as well as a house-made avocado lime dressing, and that’s where they REALLY win me over (I’m a dressing girlie and you can win my heart easily if you have the right sauce). It’s not super groundbreaking, but salads can be very disappointing at Disney World’s quick-service restaurants, and this one hasn’t let me down yet. Check Out Our Latest Backlot Express Review Here! The Smiling Crocodile Last but not least, I must shout from the peak of Expedition Everest about my favorite food item in all of Animal Kingdom, the Pulled Chicken Cheese Arepas at The Smiling Crocodile. This snack stand may have limited hours, but it’s 100% worth it to schedule a visit here to grab these for lunch. Pulled Chicken Cheese Arepa The arepa is fluffy and lightly sweetened, and the chicken is juicy and plentiful. Add in the cheese and delicious sauce, and you have a recipe for absolute deliciousness. They’re served with a side of plantain chips. I’m really hoping they get a permanent menu spot when Tropical Americas opens! See My Thoughts on BOTH the Arepa Flavors Here! If you’re heading to Disney World soon and looking to have the most spectacular culinary time, it’s totally possible. We’ve dined at every restaurant on property (multiple times), and we’ve got years of experience tasting the snacks, entrees, and desserts on the menus. 9. We love talking about their park openings, but we tend to shed a tear when it comes to sharing closures, since it’s never a good day when a beloved family tradition closes. @wildwavespark on Instagram Your time is running out to visit Wild Waves Theme & Water Park before it closes, so if it’s been on your list, now’s the time! Located near Seattle, Washington, this theme park has been through many names, including Enchanted Village, Enchanted Parks, Wild Waves, Enchanted Village, Wild Waves Theme Park, and Wild Waves and Enchanted Theme Park, and several owners, including Six Flags for a spell. Wild Waves Theme & Water Park will be closing on November 1st. @wildwavespark on Instagram The park’s current owners, Premier Parks, sent a press release in December 2025 saying the park would close at the end of the 2026 operating season. The park employs about 35 full-time staff and around 800 seasonal workers. Right now, a warehouse complex called the Podium I-5 project, or Project Podium, is set to take its place. They will completely clear the amusement park site to build a massive logistics hub. The project is set to finish in 2028. Head over sooner rather than later; your time is almost up! 10. FINALLY! One EPCOT spot has been closed for months- so long, in fact, that we were shocked and delighted to see that it was open again while visiting the park today! La Signature has reopened! So, if you are looking to grab some cosmetics and fragrances on your next walk around World Showcase, then you are in luck because La Signature just reopened, and it’s back and better than ever. La Signature is a lovely shop in the France Pavilion where guests can find over 70 French cosmetics and perfumes, in addition to makeup consultations. It is a very unique spot in World Showcase, and it closed on June 29th for a several-month-long refurbishment. Well, on our visit to EPCOT today, we saw it had finally reopened, and we were shocked by how elegant and beautiful the space looks. La Signature Inside, you can find several perfume displays featuring prominent brands like Guerlain and more. So much perfume In addition to perfumes, there is a wide selection of makeup and cosmetics. Many choices for makeup And we were so happy to see that the makeup consultations appear to have made a return with the new design of the store. Makeup Consultations This was a wonderful refurbishment that has really enhanced the store, making it warmer, more inviting, and even more luxurious, while still keeping the original spirit of the store present. We love when Disney is able to make enhancements to existing locations that help breathe new life into establishments that have existed in the parks for a long time. Even more perfume We will continue to bring you all of the Disney World news, so stay tuned to Disney Food Blog so you never miss anything! 11. We’re counting down the days until we can fulfill our dream and step into the world of Monstropolis, especially as we keep learning about new updates! Concept art for Monstropolis Disney Imagineers are still hard at work on the Monsters, Inc. Land that’s coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Monstropolis is going to feature attractions, dining, a show, and plenty of Easter eggs from the films. Now, it looks like the brand-new land could be featuring something for the kiddos. Let’s take a look at what we know so far! Disney Imagineering just filed a new Notice of Commencement permit for general construction. The address listed on the permit is 361 Cypress Drive, which is the former Stage 1 Company Store next to the building that used to hold Muppet*Vision 3D (which will become the Glob Theatre). You’d think that the old store would turn into one for Monsters, Inc., but it doesn’t look like that’s the case. ©Disney So, what does it look like the “general construction” is for? Well, the contractor on the permit is Landscape Structures, Inc., a company known as a commercial playground manufacturer. We’ve seen this contractor before, as Disney is working with Landscape Structures, Inc. right now for playgrounds in the new Tropical Americas land in Animal Kingdom, Pueblo Esperanza. They’ve also done a few temporary playgrounds for EPCOT’s festivals. All the evidence is right there, and it’s telling us that Monstropolis could be getting a playground! Monstropolis Entrance If you’ve taken a look at the Monstropolis concept art, it looks like you can actually see a play structure behind Harryhausen’s restaurant, and right outside the building that will have the roller coaster. Can you see it? The supposed playground is covered in green and blue shades, but you just can’t really see what else the area holds. Obviously, the “playground” in the concept art isn’t located where the address states on the permit. It’s probably just getting relocated now that construction has been taking place. Concept art usually isn’t a carbon copy of what’s going to actually take place. ©Disney Disney’s Hollywood Studios is getting even more kid-friendly. This new playground coming to Monstropolis will actually be the second one at the park. The Drawn to Wonderland playground is the other one, which you can find in the Magic of Disney Animation. It’s a really cute play set inspired by Alice in Wonderland. If you’re lucky, you may even run into Alice in there! We’ve Got 2 BIG Monstropolis Updates In Disney World! Looking for more Disney news? 13. November is just around the corner, and with it come some major changes to Disney World, including to Hollywood Studios! Christmas is coming The park — which will forever be known as MGM Studios in my heart — kicks off the Christmas Season with a seasonal take on one of the park’s most popular attractions, before kicking off one of Disney World’s newest holiday traditions. However, with all that merriment comes some major schedule changes that guests need to be aware of when planning their day. The Muppets Take On Christmas Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets may have only opened a few months ago, but the revamped Hollywood Studios e-ticket attraction is already getting the holiday treatment. Beginning on November 4th, the attraction will be transformed into the oh-so-perfectly named Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets: Obligatory Holiday Overlay. The attraction’s courtyard will burst with festive music, and the pre-show will feature The Electric Mayhem in rehearsals for their holiday spectacular. ©Disney Oh, and did we mention Gonzo and Rizzo in their VERY Muppet Christmas Carol-coded holiday look?!? ©Disney Of course, the overlay — which lasts until January 6th — will also feature a unique mix of Christmas tunes on board, including: “Holiday Road” – The Electric Mayhem ft. Kermit the Frog and Fozzie Bear “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” – The Electric Mayhem ft. Jennifer Hudson “Silver Bells” – The Electric Mayhem ft. Cyndi Lauper ©Disney DJ Lilypad Decks the Halls Speaking of holiday overlays, Christmas music is returning to Alien Swirling Saucers in Toy Story Land. This time, the tunes are presented by the new DJ Lilypad, who debuted in September. Say hi, Lilypad! The new playlist includes: “Deck the Halls” “Toyland” “Swirling, Swirling, Saucers” “Joy to the Swirl” ©Disney Jollywood Nights Returns Hollywood Studios’ after-hours holiday event, Jollywood Nights, is returning on November 7th. The separately ticketed event, which takes place from 7:30 PM to 12:30 AM on select nights through January 5th, offers the Disney Holidays in Hollywood and Nightmare Before Christmas shows, Disney characters sporting their Christmas best, including Baloo and King Louie from TaleSpin, Max Goof as Powerline, Phineas and Ferb, Chip ‘n’ Dale from Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers, and Stitch dressed as Santa. We’ll also see the return of the Twilight Soirée at the Tip Top Club at the Tower of Terror, the Glisten! ice skating show, Jazzy Holidays at the Hollywood Brown Derby, decor and merchandise featuring Ollie the Gingerbread Man, and the Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! nighttime spectacular. Phineas and Ferb at Jollywood Nights Following the November 7th kickoff, further dates during the month are the 14th, 16th, 21st, 23rd, and 28th. Don’t forget to grab those photo ops! Early Closures Of course, the Jollywood Nights event also affects day guests who don’t have party tickets. On party nights, the park will close to non-party guests at 7 PM, and Fantasmic! will be offered at 6:30 PM. The line at Jollywood Nights! Fantasmic! Schedule Speaking of Fantasmic!, the show has some scheduling changes to keep track of: The show will be offered at 9:30 PM on November 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 10th, 11th, 18th, 22nd, 26th, and 30th Meanwhile, on November 8th, 9th, 12th, 13th, 15th, 17th, 19th, 20th, 24th, 25th, 27th, and 29th, the show will be offered at BOTH 8:00 PM and 9:30 PM. Fantasmic! If you’re heading to Hollywood Studios this November, you’re in for a boatload of holiday cheer… as long as you keep the schedule in mind. Stay tuned to DFB for more on Disney’s push towards the end of the year. Disney’s Hollywood Studios Could Do Something AMAZING in Monsters, Inc. Land. Let’s Hope They Don’t Blow It. 14. A Disney World trip can be a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and we don’t take that lightly here at Disney Food Blog. That’s why we recommend only the best hotels, restaurants, experiences, and souvenirs. Custom Souvenirs While a million souvenirs can help you remember your Disney World trip for years to come, customizable souvenirs add something special that makes everything a little more magical. Well, what’s not more magical is a price increase! Ugh! If you’re budgeting for custom souvenirs, heads up: it’ll probably cost more than before. You can get custom souvenirs in a few places, but one is Curtain Call Collectibles in Magic Kingdom, near the front of the park. You can get items embroidered here, like Mickey hats, tote bags, and more. Prices Basic embroidery has gone up from $4.99 to $7.99, a $3 increase! Premium embroidery has increased from $7.99 to $9.99 per line, and deluxe embroidery has increased from $9.99 to $11.99 per line. Colors The embroidery options have also decreased. Basic embroidery used to come in white, gold, and pink, but now it’s white, gold, and black. Premium embroidery used to include green, bronze, silver, rainbow, cotton candy, chocolate, and more, but now it’s limited to white, gold, black, green, blue, purple, pink, and red. They also reduced the number of fonts available. Fonts Deluxe embroidery includes items beyond the classic Mickey ear hat, but it also has new limits on what you can embroider. You can no longer embroider clothing, which is quite disappointing. We loved getting a sweatshirt collar or sleeve cuff embroidered, but you can still customize a tote bag. These offerings are more consistent with Disney’s Wonderful World of Memories at Disney Springs. Custom hats Looking for some more custom offerings? We like getting ornaments or buttons personalized! We’ll add the year to the ornament to document our trip or get a birthday button decked out in a fancy font for cute photos. 15. Disney World is the Most Magical Place on Earth. It can also, on any given Tuesday, feel like one of the most crowded places on Earth. Cinderella Castle If your idea of a perfect vacation involves a good snack, a quiet bench, and absolutely zero strangers asking you to join a conga line, we get it. Loving Disney and loving personal space are NOT mutually exclusive. So we rounded up the spots that are toughest on introverted Disney adults, including a few brand-new ones that have popped up with recent park and hotel changes. Even better, we’ve got an escape plan for every single one. The Plaza Gardens Located in front of Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom, the gardens are pretty much always packed with people. Early in the day, they’re the setting for hundreds to thousands of photos, while later they become one of the most densely packed areas to watch Magic Kingdom shows, parades, and nighttime spectacular fireworks. In other words, they can be a bit of a nightmare for those who don’t like being around people. And with the Disney Starlight nighttime parade now in the mix, the hub fills up earlier in the evening and stays full longer. While the area is a bit tough to avoid while traversing the park, we’d recommend planning to watch parades and fireworks in slightly less crowded locations. Magic Kingdom means LOTS of walking How to escape: For fireworks: Head behind the castle to Fantasyland. The view is off-center, but you’ll have room to breathe and a head start on the exit crowd. Or leave the park entirely and watch from the beach at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. For parades: Skip the hub and Main Street, U.S.A. and grab a spot farther along the route in Liberty Square or Frontierland, where the crowd is usually only a row or two deep. For a mid-day breather: Ride the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover (ten glorious minutes of nobody talking to you), or duck into the new pop-up lounge at The Diamond Horseshoe in Liberty Square. It has air conditioning, shareable bites, and a self-playing piano that will never once ask where you’re visiting from. It’s only around for a limited time this fall, so enjoy it while you can. One sad update for longtime introverts: Tom Sawyer Island and the Liberty Square Riverboat, two of the park’s all-time great hiding spots, closed for good in July 2025 to make room for the upcoming Cars-themed Piston Peak area. The construction walls have also made the walkways in that corner of the park tighter than they used to be, so give yourself extra time (and patience) there. Piston Peak Construction Over the Top Meals There are several meals across Disney World that can be a bit… much for introverted guests. Whether it’s the “family” of waiters at Hollywood Studios’ 50’s Prime Time Café demanding guests keep their elbows off the table and clean their plates, or the servers at the Wilderness Lodge’s Whispering Canyon inundating their tables with ketchup, these experiences can be a bit of a sensory overload for some guests. Our whole meal at Whispering Canyon And they’re not alone. At Roundup Rodeo BBQ in Toy Story Land, the whole dining room is expected to freeze when a server yells that Andy’s coming. Over at Biergarten in EPCOT’s Germany pavilion, you may be seated at a long communal table with total strangers (while a band plays). We’d definitely recommend researching the environment of a restaurant before making a dining reservation. How to escape: Instead of 50’s Prime Time Café: Grab a seat next door at Tune-In Lounge. You can order from the same menu (hello, fried chicken and PB&J milkshake) without anyone checking whether you finished your green beans. Instead of Whispering Canyon: Walk down to Geyser Point Bar & Grill on the water at Wilderness Lodge. It’s open-air, laid-back, and the loudest thing there is usually the boat horn. If you’re already seated: Quietly tell your server you’d rather sit this one out. Cast Members at these restaurants are pros at reading the table, and most will happily dial it back. 50’s Prime Time Cafe The Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run Cockpit Smugglers Run has always been a little awkward for introverts. You’re sealed in a six-seat cockpit, often with strangers, and everyone has a job to do. But the back-row engineer seats used to be a safe place to hide. Not anymore! When the ride’s new mission with the Mandalorian and Grogu debuted in May, the engineers got the biggest upgrade. One of them now chooses where the entire crew flies next (Bespin, Coruscant, or the wreckage of the second Death Star), and there’s a button to call Grogu mid-flight. It’s a much better ride, but it also means every seat on the Falcon now comes with responsibility and an audience. How to escape: Ask for a gunner. When the Cast Member hands out role cards, politely request the middle row. Gunners can pick a simpler first-timer setting, and nobody’s fate depends on your steering. Decompress after. The seating tucked in the back of Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo is one of the calmer corners of Batuu. Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run The Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets Pre-Show Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster reopened in May with The Muppets in charge, and we love the Electric Mayhem as much as anyone. But the pre-show still takes place in the same recording studio room as before, which means you’ll be standing shoulder to shoulder with a few dozen strangers while Scooter tries to get the band out the door. How to escape: Hang back. Let the eager folks rush in first and settle along the back wall, where there’s more elbow room. Head for the new quiet zone. The Magic of Disney Animation opened in September in the reimagined Walt Disney Studios courtyard, and it might be the most introvert-friendly addition to this park in years. You can sit in the dark and watch a short film at the Once Upon a Studio Theater, or grab a pencil at Olaf Draws and quietly sketch a character. No small talk required. Pre-show The Beak and Barrel Magic Kingdom’s Pirates of the Caribbean tavern is gorgeous, the drinks are fun, and reservations are still tough to snag. It’s also a lot. The room is small and lively; there’s a 45-minute time limit (and yes, the crew will remind you), and you don’t get to choose where you sit. You might get a cozy table, or you might end up at a standing table or shoulder to shoulder at the bar. If you booked this hoping for a quiet drink in a dark corner, that’s not a guarantee. How to escape: Know before you go. Treat it like an attraction with drinks, not a lounge. Go in expecting a rowdy 45 minutes, and you’ll have a much better time. Pick the calmer option. The limited-time pop-up lounge at The Diamond Horseshoe is a short walk away in Liberty Square, and it’s a far more relaxed place to sit with a cocktail. Take a walk. Swiss Family Treehouse is right there in Adventureland. It rarely has a line, nobody talks to you, and the view from the top is lovely. The Beak and Barrel Hurly-Burly at Disney’s BoardWalk Disney World’s newest lounge opened on October 1st in the old Jellyrolls space, and the name is true to advertising. Hurly-Burly opens at 4PM with host-led trivia and games for the whole family, then switches to a 21-and-up live music venue at 9PM. When we visited on opening day, the host worked the room and asked guests where they were from. If the phrase “audience interaction” makes you want to hide under the table, consider yourself warned. There are also no reservations, so you’ll be joining a walk-up waitlist. How to escape: Use the walk-up window. It opens at 11 AM and serves cocktails, beer, wine, and a Caramel Corn Cold Brew. Grab a drink and take a slow lap around Crescent Lake instead. Time it right. The entertainment runs 30 minutes on, 30 minutes off. Arrive during a break, and you can enjoy your velvet booth in relative peace. Go next door. AbracadaBar, just down the BoardWalk, is small, dim, and far more low-key. Hurly-Burly Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa The redesigned lobby now has its own bar, The Perch, so the space is more of a hangout than it used to be. Construction also continues in parts of the resort through early 2027, including the covered entrance. How to escape: At the Grand Floridian: Book the tea experience at the Garden View Lounge, which reopened this past March. It’s seated, unhurried, and by reservation. And if holiday lobby crowds stress you out, here’s a silver lining: the giant gingerbread house is not returning this year, so the lobby should be a little easier to cross. Head to the Polynesian: Skip the bustling Great Ceremonial House and wander over to the Island Tower. It has its own lobby and its own restaurant, Wailulu Bar & Grill, and it’s noticeably quieter. The Grand Floridian Resort We’ll keep hunting for hiding spots as Disney World keeps changing, so stay tuned to DFB for all the latest. 17. Disney Cruise Line continues to grow. A new ship, the Disney Adventure, just launched this year (and we were there for its maiden voyage!). Disney has also announced the Disney Believe, which will set sail in 2027. In addition, three NEW ships are being built to set sail between 2029 and 2031. ©Disney However, the most exciting news we’ve heard recently from Disney Cruise Line is about a brand new ship that will set sail from Japan, a first for Disney Cruise Line. Disney revealed new details about this ship, and we’re going to fill you in on all the good stuff! The new cruise ship will be called the Disney Imagination and will set sail on its maiden voyage in spring 2029. Disney has partnered with Oriental Land Company to create the new ship with sailings in Japan. The ship is a sister ship to the Disney Wish and “will feature many guest-favorite venues and experiences from that ship [the Wish] with select modifications specially designed with Japanese guests in mind.” ©Disney A big Disney Cruise Line tradition is featuring a character on the stern, and Disney Imagination will feature Ariel from The Little Mermaid alongside Sebastian and friends from beneath the sea. Using her dinglehopper, she will help paint the ship’s name. On board, you can expect Broadway-style entertainment, opportunities to meet characters, food and beverage, dedicated spaces for kids, tweens, and teens, exclusive adult-only areas, and the incredible hospitality Disney Cruise Line is known for. It will sail from Tokyo and will invite guests aboard a ship “powered by creativity and optimism, where families will be encouraged to embrace and experience imagination that has always been at the heart of Disney storytelling like never before.” On board the Disney Adventure The new ship will weigh around 140,000 gross tons and will be powered by liquefied natural gas. It will also have a total of 1,250 staterooms and will hold around 4,000 guests. The ship will be built at Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, which is where many of Disney Cruise Line’s ships have been built. We’re so excited to get to know Disney Cruise Line’s new ship, as well as excited about sailings in Japan. 22. Alright, Star Wars fans, we’re warning you now that you might want to sit down. We’ve got some VERY exciting news, and if you’re anything like the few big fans on our team, this may be the best Disney news you get all week. Mando and Grogu in Disney World Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is one of the best places to find roaming characters in all of Disney World, but that does mean it can be hard to take a quick photo with them. Unlike regular meet-and-greets, roaming characters wander throughout their land and interact with guests, but they can’t have an actual photo line form. Previously, The Mandalorian and Grogu were characters you could only see wandering, but now that’s changed! There’s now a specific, dedicated spot on the My Disney Experience App for you to meet The Mandalorian and Grogu! You’ll find him near the Millennium Falcon, very close to where Chewbacca himself often meets. If you’re looking for specific times, you’ll find them listed on his page in the app. This means no more hoping he’ll be wandering when you’re in the area — now you know exactly when you can meet them. ©Disney He looks to be meeting throughout the day, beginning at around 10 AM and finishing up around 6 PM. Keep in mind, though, that if the weather isn’t good, he may not meet at his normal times, and schedule changes can take place throughout the day. When in doubt, ask a nearby Cast Member! We found him! When we arrived, the line was decently long, but most of it was in the shade, which is nice for the warmer days that still plague Orlando, despite it being October. The line moved decently quickly, but it will still take a decent amount of time, so pack your patience if you really would like to meet them. Now that they have a designated meeting spot, this means they will very rarely be seen wandering around land, as characters usually have set-in-stone meeting spots OR are roaming — usually not both. The line moved pretty fast! Looking for more Disney’s Hollywood Studios news? Check out our posts below! More Recent Disney's Hollywood Studios News! 24. We’re about to go get McDonald’s WAY more than we were originally planning this month, because now we’re on a mission — we MUST collect all of these new Boo Buckets! Boo Bucket in 2022 That’s right, you read that correctly — McDonald’s is officially bringing back their Boo Buckets for another year this spooky season, but this time, they have a Disney twist to them. We’re as big of a fan of Disney Villains as the next person, and now it’s time to collect the NEW line of Disney Villain themed Boo Buckets that are coming out soon! Snackolator on X (formerly Twitter) has helped release the news about these new Disney Villain Boo Buckets, and we now know there will be five that we can collect. Based on the photo shown, there will be buckets themed to Ursula, Maleficent, Scar, Jafar, and Cruella De Vil. Could this all be because Disney is working on Villains Land in Magic Kingdom? It’s certainly possible! ©Snackolator on X Last year, the Boo Buckets were released on October 21st, but there wasn’t a Disney design — it was the classic Ghost, Pumpkin, and Goblin, plus a Cat and a Zombie. We do know that each bucket this year, like years past, will come with a pack of stickers, so you can decorate yours however you’d like. ©McDonald’s circa 2025 In the past, the buckets have come with Happy Meals, so you can choose between a burger or chicken nuggets, a side, and a beverage. We think the buckets can be great for trick-or-treating purposes, Halloween decorations, or, in our case, you can repurpose them as a planter! Isn’t it cute?! We’ll be sure to keep an ear out for the latest news about this addition, because we know we’ll be running to our local McDonald’s in an effort to collect them all. In the meantime, are you heading to Disney World soon and don’t know where to eat? Check out our helpful video below! 25. Okay, who’s getting excited about visiting Monstropolis next year in Disney’s Hollywood Studios? We certainly are! We can’t wait to roam the streets where Mike and Sulley spend their lives and check out Harryhausen’s, the Welcome to Monstropolis show, and the new roller coaster based on the movie’s doors scene (which will be opening after the rest of the land). ©Disney Well, we just visited the construction site of Monstropolis and noticed some updates, so we knew we had to share them with you. First up, we got a close-up look at some new details that have been added to one of the buildings in Monstropolis. Some colorful tiles that look almost like dragon (or monster) scales have been added to the top of one of the buildings. The tiles seem to fall into the blue, gold, and brown color schemes. New tiles Here’s a look at the other side of the top of that building where these tiles have been placed. Really, these little details are what’s going to really make this land POP. It’s giving so much personality What’s even more surprising is that Disney has totally jumped the gun and is already selling Monstropolis merchandise! A new merchandise cart popped up in front of the construction site where you can buy Monsters, Inc. souvenirs RIGHT NOW. Talk about getting the anticipation going, huh? The merch cart included the Scream Canister water bottle that we LOVE, plushes, a Monsters University Loungefly bag, shirts, and ears. New merch cart! You can also grab a variety of Monsters, Inc. hats, although we also spotted a Grogu hat, which seems a LITTLE out of place, don’t ‘ya think? Hats Of course, we imagine Disney has special Monstropolis souvenirs that we’ll only see once the new land opens, but for now, you can get ready for the opening of the new land with some fun merchandise. In the meantime, we’ll keep an eye on Monstropolis construction and keep you updated, so stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more. 26. Disney is gearing up for another animated film to hit theaters later this year, and we’ve got a feeling we’re about to walk out of the theater with tear tracks down our faces. ©Disney At D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event this past August, we learned more about the casting for this upcoming film, as well as got a look at some of the designs for the characters and the world. Disney showed the first public scenes from the film back in June, and now, we’ve got even MORE details about this upcoming film, which releases on November 25th, 2026. What we’ve taken away from it all is this — you’re going to want to bring your tissues. Recent interviews with the creative team behind the film have revealed just how much the family dynamic and the relationship between mother and daughter are important to this story. Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Chief Creative Officer Jared Bush stated that it became clear during the process that the team wanted this to be a mother-daughter story, and that they wanted to make sure “that their relationship was actually the star of the film.” Bush continued on to say that the hope is that both parents and kids will watch the film and understand where each other is coming from. For kids, it may be realizing what their parents are experiencing, and for the parents, it may be remembering what it was like to be a teenager. ©Disney He continued on, saying that getting to that point in the film took a lot of intense questioning, such as asking, “Does this feel true to life? Is this as emotional as it could be? And, as you’re watching it, do you believe it?” He described the lock-in between our main characters, mom Alice and teenager Billie, as a “North Star,” stating that once they really dug into why the characters’ communication styles weren’t cohesive with one another and why they were facing the issues they were is when the story got fun, as it allowed them the freedom to really figure out that dynamic. ©Disney Dana Ledoux Miller, one of the writers of the film, also talked about how while the film takes place in a fantasy world, the story is grounded in genuine, deep emotion. She continued, saying, “We’re here to create Disney magic, where people are going to laugh and they’re going to feel something. As long as we’re tracking that, then that’s our North Star. We’re having fun together, and that’s where the great writing comes in.” When talking about the characters specifically, she speaks of how the team found themselves rooting for Alice in the early stages of the process, as both she herself and director Fawn Veerasunthorn are both parents, so they understood her point of view. Tapping into Billie’s younger mindset forced them to remember how it felt to be an early teenager so that audiences can find themselves understanding Billie on a deep level. ©Disney Jason Hand, who also directed the film, mentioned that filmmakers pulled from their own experiences as parents to tell the story, saying, “There are reasons. For Billie to discover what those reasons are, why Alice chose the things she chose, is really fascinating. It’s something we can all relate to in our own lives — finding out something about your parents you maybe didn’t know, like what they wanted to do but never chase. And that makes this a very human story in a very fantastical world.” The interview also revealed that Rashida Jones, who voices Alice, was cast first, and Hailee Steinfeld, who voices Billie, was cast later. Roy Conli, one of the producers of the film, called their performances “so beautiful” and mentioned the “symbiosis” between them. The team really thinks that both parents and kids will really enjoy this film, seeing as both perspectives are so deeply explored. ©Disney When talking about the world created in the film, artists from nearly every department took extra time and care to “develop a system of tactile magic largely influenced by nature, set within a vast, colorful realm.” The audience will be discovering the world of Hexe through Billie’s eyes, and we’ll be learning about the world of magic right alongside her. Jason Hand is quoted saying, “She [Billie] knows all about witches and magic from our human, contemporary world. So, we decided, ‘Let’s lean into that — and then let’s twist her expectations.‘” The magic in Hexe also comes from within the person themselves, so the witch or wizard themselves is a key component of every spell. This means that the team had to figure out what magic looks like for each character, and we’ll also get to see some Easter Eggs to past Disney films in the magic of the realm as well, like the enchanted feather quill pen Quill (voiced by Tracey Ullman) and the magical journal Quire (voiced by Stephen Fry), who greet Billie at the entrance to Hexe. ©Disney The idea that every witch or wizard has their own unique magic is a very important part of the film, and a strong metaphor, with Veerasunthorn saying that the real magic of the film “is your potential. It’s up to you how you manifest it, what you choose to do with it, whether it’s for good or evil.” Want to see more of what happened at D23 when we were there? Check out our video below! 28. Lace up your sneakers, start stretching, and get yourself to Disney World, because we need to talk about runDisney! ©Disney The next runDisney race is the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend from October 22nd to October 25th. However, as excited as we are, we’re not here to talk about that race. We want to talk about the 2027 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, because we just got a first look at the medals! From January 6th to January 10th, 2027, Disney World will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Walt Disney World Half Marathon. Fans and athletes from all over the world are invited to participate in the race led by Donald Duck, who will be the star of the show throughout the weekend. runDisney setup Being a part of the race is so much fun, and the exclusive Disney medals are the cherry on top! Disney just dropped a first look at the medals coming to the 2027 Walt Disney World Half Marathon, and we’re loving each and every one of them. Mickey’s pal Pluto is featured on the 5K medal, and as you can see, Donald Duck is making his appearance on it as well. ©Disney The 10K medal features the beloved chipmunks, Chip & Dale. It’s got an eye-catching pink and magenta color scheme with the characters framed with a cutout silver border. The same spinning Donald piece is featured on this medal. ©Disney No need for the smaller spinning Donald piece on the Half Marathon medal, because Donald Duck is front and center. The medal is in the shape of the number 30, celebrating the 30 years of races. The cool thing about this medal is that it has a hinged locket design. ©Disney Open it up, and you’ll find Daisy Duck on the inside! ©Disney We know Donald is the star, but it’s not a Disney event without Mickey and Minnie Mouse, who are featured on the Marathon medal. The medal has Mickey and Minnie running with “26.2 Miles” above them, on a gorgeously designed background. Yes, Donald Duck is still featured on this medal too. ©Disney Are you up for a challenge? Or, should we say, Goofy’s Challenge? This medal is designed in a very unique way, with the medal having two doors that open up. On the face of the medal, you get the challenge name and Goofy running. ©Disney Open it up, and you’ll find Donald Duck holding up three medals, as well as “39.3 Miles” lettering, which is the total miles needed to complete the challenge. ©Disney Lastly, if you complete the 48.6-mile distance, you’ll get the Dopey Challenge medal.
