The last few months of the year are seriously the BEST time to be a Starbucks drinker. Which holiday cup design is your favorite? Here at DFB, we like weird food news and we LOVE cheese, so when we found out what was coming to Orlando this week, we marked our calendars IMMEDIATELY. WE LOVE CHEESE If you’re the kind of person who thinks cheese belongs on everything or you’re a lover of quirky accessories and bag charms, then you’ll want to be on the lookout for the Kraft pop-up in Orlando this week. Why? They’re giving out cheesy souvenirs! Kraft Natural Cheeses is traveling from LA to Orlando to celebrate the release of Pocket Parm! What’s Pocket Parm? Well, it’s about as unhinged as it sounds. These are tiny keychains/bag charms that are actual containers of sprinkle cheese. Yep, folks, you can now have your Kraft cheese on the go! Each one comes with its own beaded attachment, and there are limited quantities available. Does anyone know how we can get our boss AJ all of these? ©Kraft The Pocket Parm comes in four flavors, three of which are previews for new flavors releasing nationwide in 2027. The flavors are regular Parmesan, Tomato Basil Parmesan, Garlic Herb Parmesan, and Cheddar. They’re available in limited quantities in limited locations, and now one of those locations is Orlando! ©Kraft To snag your Pocket Parm, you have to track down the Kraft pop-up! From October 27th through October 30th, 2026, you can find the Kraft pop-up at various spots around Orlando. They’ll be hitting several popular spots each day. Tuesday is locations around Kissimmee, then Wednesday is Lake Buena Vista and Vineland, Thursday is UCF and Alafaya, and Friday is International Drive. The pop-up kicks off at 10:30 AM each day of the tour. ©Kraft To see live updates on where the pop-up is traveling, check out the Kraft Natural Cheese Instagram story throughout each day. Finding the pop-up in real time is the only way to snag these Pocket Parms, so be on the lookout for the Kraft billboard truck as it drives around town. Okay, we feel a bit sweet towards Disneyland too, but there’s something about the Disney magic that keeps us coming back time and time again. Cinderella Castle Apparently, we aren’t the only ones who feel this way, because the Theme Parks & Attractions (TEA) Global Experience Index released theme park attendance for 2025, and Disney World seems less busy than it has been. The top five busiest theme parks of 2025 are: Magic Kingdom – 17,800,000 Disneyland Park – 17,406,000 EPCOT – 12,109,000 Hollywood Studios – 10,312,000 Disney California Adventure – 10,090,000 Disneyland What’s so interesting is the change in attendance from 2024. For Magic Kingdom,m there was a -0.2% change. Disneyland saw a 0.4% change, and EPCOT and Hollywood Studios also saw a -0.2% change. Disney California Adventure also saw a 0.4% increase, like Disneyland park. Tower of Terror Epic Universe, Universal Orlando’s newest park, welcomed about 4,000,000 in 2025, which is great considering it opened in May 2025, so it was only for half the year. Universal Studios Florida saw about 9,300,000, down 2.1% from 2024, and Islands of Adventure saw 9,200,000, down 2.6% from 2023. Epic Universe For Disney World, that 0.2% change might not be much, but when we’re in the parks every day, it feels less busy, especially on major holidays. Holidays like Labor Day, which creates a three-day weekend, and Christmas used to be slammed, but lately, we find the crowds just aren’t that bad. In the past, it was wall-to-wall people, but it doesn’t always feel different than any other day in the park. Christmas Day 2025 Obviously, there are still busy seasons like the holidays, which draw more guests than a random week in March, but the holidays just aren’t quite what they used to be. We’re curious to see what the 2026 numbers will end up being, especially with some of the new openings Disney World experienced this year, like the Walt Disney Studios area in Hollywood Studios, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets, and Bluey’s Wild World. 2027 is almost here, and I, for one, am REALLY excited for the future of Disney World! ©Disney The year is shaping up to be one of the most consequential in the resort’s 55+ history, with new lands, new rides, new restaurants, a new hotel, and even a new take on a Walt-era classic (which lowkey might be what I’m MOST looking forward to)! Tropical Americas Set to open in 2027, the heart of this new Animal Kingdom land will be the fictional South American village of Pueblo Esperanza, which will be home to one of the largest quick-service dining locations on Disney World property. Puebla Esperanza model Tropical Americas will be headlined by an Encanto attraction called Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto, a themed ride-through experience where guests will enter Madrigal Casita and join Antonio, who has just received his special gift: the ability to communicate with animals. The ride will have NO height requirement, will feature the film’s original voice cast returning, and will be home to 50 different animal animatronics. ©Disney Pueblo Esperanza’s other high-profile attraction will be an Indiana Jones attraction replacing DINOSAUR. Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent will be set in the 1950’s in a South American temple where Indy finds a passageway that leads to the Mayan underworld. Once you get sucked into the portal to the underworld, you’re in an all-out chase to escape before time runs out, dealing with bats, scorpions, fire, and of course, SNAKES, including a GIANT one. On top of all that, for the first time, Harrison Ford’s likeness will be used for the Indiana Jones animatronic! SNAKES! Finally, as far as rides go, the land will also be rounded out by El Carrusel de los Animalitos, which translates to “The Little Animals’ Carousel.” The ride will feature 22 distinct Disney characters as options to ride, including Heimlich from A Bug’s Life, Pua from Moana, and Kevin from Up. @bioreconstruct on X Monstropolis Hollywood Studios’ Monstropolis will also be opening its gates to the world sometime next year… well, almost. See, Disney confirmed that the land’s main attraction, the long-awaited door coaster, which will mimic the climax of the film by taking guests inside the Monsters, Inc. factory, lift them 40 feet into the air in four seconds, and utilize Disney’s first suspended ride system, won’t be ready in time for the land’s debut. ©Bioreconstruct However, the land won’t be empty at opening. While it’s not clear when the coaster will debut, the version of Monstropolis that opens in 2027 will feature The Glob Theater — in the former home of Muppet*Vision 3D — and its “Welcome to Monstropolis” show, a presentation hosted by Mike and Sulley which will “introduce humans to Monstropolis.” ©Disney Archie’s Scare Pig Pizza quick-service eatery, the Monsters University Alumni Club, the Scareporium store, and Harryhausen’s restaurant — complete with a massive animatronic monster chef — will round out the land’s options at opening. ©Disney Lakeshore Lodge Opening on the former site of the River Country water park right next to Fort Wilderness and the Wilderness Lodge on July 1st, the new Lakeshore Lodge will be “inspired by the majesty of nature and its enduring influence on Disney artists.” Lakeshore Lodge Preview Highlights of the 967-room hotel will include a full water play and pool complex — The Wetlands. ©Disney The hotel will additionally be home to several new dining options, including: Moonglade will be Lakeshore Lodge’s primary table service restaurant, and will offer a selection of “thoughtfully prepared dishes featuring seasonal and locally sourced ingredients.” We’re already thinking about some of the Florida-tinged dishes that could potentially make their way onto the restaurant’s seasonal menus. Beyond the food — and maybe, to some people, even more important than the food — a major draw of the restaurant will likely be the massive floor-to-ceiling windows. Moonglade ©Disney Bay Lake Provisions, the hotel’s primary quick-service restaurant, will offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner — including a selection of specialty coffees — in a marketplace-style atmosphere. Disney also says guests should “keep an eye out for woodland critters inspired by beloved Disney classics.” Bay Lake Provisions ©Disney The hotel’s pool bar — the Paint Out Point Bar & Grill — will sit near the entrance to the Lakeshore Lagoon in the Wetlands. The menu will be made up of shareable bites and specialty beverages, while the decor will feature a collection of original works by Imagineers inspired by plein-air painting that draw inspiration from the Bay Lake landscapes. Paint Out Point Bar & Grill ©Disney The Branch & Brush Lounge, located just beyond the hotel’s lobby, will offer a selection of handcrafted cocktails for guests to sip as they take in expansive views of Bay Lake. The lounge’s decor will be “inspired by the beauty” of the changing seasons, thanks to rich colors, natural textures, and a matching collection of artwork. All of these elements will play off a “captivating color-changing chandelier that will bring the beauty of all four seasons to life.” Branch & Brush Concept Art ©Disney Disney also announced Dandelion Terrace, a lounge where guests can gather “after the sun sets… to see Magic Kingdom Park fireworks lighting up the sky over the waters of Bay Lake”, with “soft lighting and sweeping views” setting the mood for the show. Dandelion Terrace ©Disney The NEW Carousel of Progress The Carousel of Progress — a personal favorite of mine which has been operating in one form or another since its debut at the 1964 New York World’s Fair, meaning it actually predates Disney World by over a decade — is scheduled to reopen in the spring. It will open with a new take on the show that’s updating everything about the 60+-year-old attraction, shuttering what’s left of the original version for good. In an attempt to keep the show “relatable for today’s audiences,” the whole show is being restructured. Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress The show will now feature a Walt Disney animatronic in the pre-show, followed by new acts based on the 1960s (itself harkening back to the decade the show originally debuted), the 1980s, the 1999-turn of the millennium, and a “possible future” that will imagine a time where “extraordinary innovation has become part of life and proves that a beautiful tomorrow is just a dream away.” Carousel of Progress Concept Art ©Disney BONUS: BoardWalk Expansion… We Think Disney’s BoardWalk already saw major change in 2026 with the opening of the Hurly-Burly Lounge, bringing the long-awaited return of nightlife to the former home of JellyRolls, while the Atlantic Dance Hall was shuttered for good. However, more change may be in store in 2027, as new shops and a quick-service dining location have been announced, though Disney has not confirmed an exact date range. Hurly-Burly Disney World’s 2027 is shaping up to be huge, as several of the massive construction projects at the resort are set to be completed and opened before the year is out. We still remember the first time we saw Fantasy Springs, which is the new expansion at Tokyo DisneySea. The new area features three lands inspired by Frozen, Tangled, and Peter Pan, and there’s truly nothing like it at any other Disney Park around the world. Fantasy Springs If you’ve got a trip to Tokyo Disney Resort coming up or you just like keeping up with Disney news, you’ll want to know that one of the popular rides at Fantasy Springs is scheduled to have a temporary closure for refurbishment! Over in Neverland in Fantasy Springs, Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure will be closed starting on March 9th, 2027. Thankfully, this will be a short refurbishment period, as the attraction is scheduled to reopen on March 16th. Disney hasn’t announced the specifics of the refurbishment, but we’re assuming it’s just routine maintenance since the timeline is so short. Interestingly enough, this is the first time Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure will undergo planned maintenance since it opened in 2024. Fantasy Springs at Tokyo DisneySea Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure is a 3D dark ride where you will join Peter Pan, Tinker Bell, and the Lost Boys on a quest to rescue John from Captain Hook and his pirates. It’s a trackless ride where you’ll board a boat enchanted with fairy dust, and you’ll fly into the sky. The ride also features interactions with Wendy, Michael, mermaids, and Captain Hook’s ship, the Jolly Roger. Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure While the ride does have guests use 3D glasses, there is tons of new innovative technology that makes this ride truly unique. Especially when you compare it to the classic Peter Pan rides in other Disney Parks. The ride vehicle has a three-dimensional sound system, and special paints were used on the ride to blend the media and the scenery together, giving the attraction an even more immersive feel. ©Disney While we do love this ride, don’t allow the closure to turn you away from Fantasy Springs! There is a lot more that the area has to offer, including Frozen Kingdom, a land based on Disney’s Frozen, and Rapunzel’s Forest, inspired by Disney’s Tangled. Royal Banquet of Arendelle In Frozen Kingdom, you can ride Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey. We want to say it’s similar to Frozen Ever After at EPCOT, but it’s also a very different experience with more scenes and jaw-dropping moments. There’s also Rapunzel’s Lantern Festival in Rapunzel’s Forest, which is a ride that takes you through the story of the film with Rapunzel and Flynn Rider. Well, if you’ve been excited for Disney’s upcoming film Hexed, we’ve got…sort of good news — there’s another movie coming out that’s pretty darn similar. ©Disney Hexed doesn’t come out until November 25th, 2026, but there’s a new film called Steps coming to Netflix just a few days earlier on November 20th, and it’s got an extremely similar premise. Enough so that fans have started to notice, and it’s looking like some fans might be switching sides. It’s possible more people may be staying home to watch the Netflix film instead of heading to the theatre. Premise & Plot According to IMDb, the premise of Disney’s Hexed is “An awkward teen and her Type-A mother learn her peculiarities might be magical powers, transforming their lives and revealing a hidden magical realm.” We’ve got magic, that’s for sure, and we recently learned through an interview with the creatives of the film that it heavily focuses on the relationship between mother and daughter. The family aspect of the film is really what drives the plot, from what we learned, and is something that the creators worked very hard on to make sure it comes across as authentic and real. ©Disney As for Netflix’s upcoming film Steps, according to IMDb, the premise is “Blamed for magical mischief at the Royal Ball, stepsister Lilith turns her sister into a frog. She must work with Cinderella and a troll to save the kingdom and prove villains deserve happy endings too.” Similar to Hexed, this film does focus on the family dynamic, but this is between sisters instead of mother and daughter. Plus, one of them turns into a frog, which is also pretty different (as far as we know) from Hexed. ©IMDb Alright, so they both deal with family and magic, but how similar really are they? Animation Style Yes, both films are also animated, and at a quick glance, they look similar, but there are some key differences here. Disney’s animation style for Hexed is largely the same as what we’ve seen in the Frozen films, as well as Onward and Elio. This is very similar to their regular style of animation now, though it’s a far cry from the 2D animation of the past. The skin is smooth, and a lot of the design is rounded out in a way. ©Disney As for Steps, the animation style here is full of sharper edges, and has almost more of a “kid-ish” feel to it. It’s more a style of animation we see in TV shows for kids, which often feature more abnormal proportions for human beings. It’s part of the fantastical world being created, but it does set it apart from Hexed in design. ©IMDb This could partly be because Disney has focused Hexed to be more grounded in relationships, and magic just happens to be a way of connection (as well as tension), whereas, if Steps is indeed geared more towards kids, it may be more focused on the humor of one sister turning the other into a frog…which, to be fair, is indeed hilarious. Main Character & Sidekicks Now, seeing our two main characters side by side, we will say that they do have some similar features. Both have dark eyes and dark hair, and since Steps‘ protagonist often wears purple, it gives her hair a purple shine, making it look a little similar to the main character of Hexed, Billie. ©IMDb However, looking closer, they do have notable differences, such as their height, the length of their hair, their ages, the way they carry themselves, and, of course, their personalities. The similarities aren’t to be ignored, but it’s important to also notice the differences between the two. ©Disney Now, as for their sidekicks, it does appear that both have non-people as some of their adventure buddies, but one is a frog, and the other is…whatever this is. ©Disney For Steps, we know that the frog is actually a human as well, so does that really count? We’ll allow it since it’s the premise of the film, but it seems that Hexed has some truly “out of this world” characters we’re looking forward to seeing more of. ©IMDb What Are Other People Saying? When we posted the trailer for Steps on our Instagram, we noticed that some people did think that the two films are pretty similar. User @sarahrimokh commented, “Why do all these animated characters look the same in every movie The girl looks like the same girl from Hexed.” However, their comment got two very different replies: user @sarrrah.smith replied, “Seriously!” while user @daydreamer_064 said, “They don’t look ANYTHING alike.” ©IMDb Another user, @cerise.badwolf, pointed out that since the storylines are similar in a way, they may see some of the same criticisms, saying, “It looks like a good movie. One that could probably fall subject to a lot of the same criticisms people are throwing at hexed but it’s almost like most of that outrage is selective and manufactured anyway.” @lwd_29, another commenter on the post, pointed out that they feel it looks better than Hexed, saying, “the Cranberries song is so good it’s making me want to watch this. And yes it absolutely looks better than Hexed.” ©Disney The good news is that both films will be family-friendly and great for all ages, so you’ll have TWO movies to watch for in the same week! Disney Cruise Line recently introduced new accessibility enhancements across its fleet and island destinations, designed to support guests as they engage with onboard entertainment and navigate their surroundings with greater confidence and independence during their magical vacations at sea. Guests who are deaf or hard of hearing can now experience the energy of silent disco parties in an entirely new way through haptic vests, which are wearable devices that transform music and sound effects into physical sensations. Available on all Disney Cruise Line ships at the silent disco, the technology is designed to help guests feel the beat, rhythm and excitement of the party through touch, creating a more immersive experience. Disney Cruise Line has also added resources for guests with visual disabilities through the introduction of braille and tactile guidebooks, available fleetwide upon request, including at Guest Services and Disney’s island destinations in The Bahamas: Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. The guidebooks feature tactile maps and venue information designed to help guests better navigate the ship and island destination layouts. “Previously, a guest who is deaf or hard of hearing could see a silent disco happening around them. Now they can feel it. A guest who is blind or has low vision can understand the layout of a ship or an island,” said Maura King, manager of accessibility at Disney Cruise Line. “Accessibility is built into the experience at Disney Cruise Line — from ship design to onboard services — helping ensuring guests of all abilities feel supported throughout their vacation.” These enhancements are part of Disney Cruise Line’s ongoing efforts to leverage new tools and resources that support guests’ access to the entertainment, destinations and experiences that help make a Disney vacation at sea memorable. Disney Cruise Line remains focused on inclusive guest experiences. From accessible staterooms to captioning on Funnel Vision to an accessible transfer option at AquaMouse on the Wish class ships to assistive listening systems, guests will find a variety of offerings to support various needs onboard. Complementing these experiences are a number of other accessibility services and accommodations, including wheelchair-accessible public spaces, relief locations for service dogs, Disney Cruise Line’s Special Services — a dedicated shoreside team assisting Guests with disabilities requests, and more. At Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, accessibility offerings may include sand wheelchairs, mobility mats for beach access, accessible transportation options, and select excursions designed to accommodate guests with limited mobility. We hope you’ve got a strong center of gravity in Disney World today, because from what it sounds like, nearly every single person is going to need it. Wind whipping flags in EPCOT Keeping a close eye on the weather in Disney World is part of our job, considering unexpected storms, colder or warmer weather than usual, or other abnormalities can quickly affect your vacation in not-so-great ways. If you were in the parks yesterday, you may have noticed that it was windier than usual, and that’s continuing today, so be ready to brace yourself and push through the wall of wind coming your way. The U.S. National Weather Service has now extended the wind advisory for Orlando, Florida, through today, Tuesday, October 27th, at 8 PM. The warning began on Monday, October 26th at about 12:36 PM, according to AccuWeather, meaning the warning will have been in effect for about 32 hours, as long as it does indeed end at around 8 PM today. ©AccuWeather Northeast winds sitting at 15 to 25 mph with gusts of 35 to 40 mph are expected in Inland Indian River, Inland Martin, Inland Northern Brevard, Inland Saint Lucie, Inland Southern Brevard, Inland Volusia, Okeechobee, Orange, Osceola, and Seminole Counties. It’s expected that gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects, so you’ll want to make sure all your items you’re walking around with in the parks are secured, especially if you’re leaving a stroller at stroller parking. It’s also possible that tree limbs could come down, which could result in power outages. ©AccuWeather These high winds can also make driving difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles, such as 18-wheelers and other large trucks. If you’re driving in this weather, exercise additional caution and ensure your attention is solely on the road and the movement of your car. If you’re taking Disney World transportation, especially the buses, you may notice that they may be driving a bit slower than normal. It’s also possible the Skyliner may close if gusts get too intense. You can ask Cast Members around the park to ask if the Skyliner is running before walking all the way over to the station, or can also check for updates on the My Disney Experience App. Even if it is open, we warn you (from personal experience) that even if you’re not prone to motion sickness, the Skyliner on windy days can be brutal, so proceed with caution. It’s been a great month to be a Disney+ subscriber. Not only are we getting new episodes of Marvel’s new TV series, VisionQuest, but we’re also watching all our favorite Disney Halloween movies like Hocus Pocus and Halloweentown (which may be getting a new movie!). ©Disney However, some big things are happening for the streaming subscription service that you may have missed, so we’re getting you caught up on the latest Disney+ news. The second bit of news also came at the perfect time for spooky season! According to Deadline, Disney+ has struck a landmark content deal in the U.K. that will see the Channel 4 network become available on the streaming service for the first time in the U.K. That means shows like Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins and Maya, which stars Bella Ramsey, will be available on Disney+ in the U.K. and Ireland at the beginning of next year. After that, Disney+ EMEA general manager Karl Homes says there will be a “regular tempo” of new shows from Channel 4 on the streamer. ©Channel 4 This comes after Disney+ began partnering with local European networks for content swap deals that brought shows like The Bear and The Kardashians to ITVX. The Disney and Channel 4 deal, though, is bigger in scope. More details about the deal and what it means for U.K. and Ireland Disney+ subscribers will be revealed in the coming months. ©Channel 4 Now for some news from the U.S. If you’ve found yourself hooked on the new Disney+ witchy series Coven Academy, we’ve got some good news. Deadline is reporting that the show is getting a second season! The show has had strong viewership statistics over the past three weeks since its season 1 premiere. It’s picked up 20.3 million global hours since its premiere on Disney+ and Hulu, with more than 30 million views after the first chapter debuted on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. ©Disney Coven Academy follows three teenage witches and their warlock peers at a magical boarding school. Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog are waiting backstage at Hollywood Studios, which means only one thing: Jollywood Nights is almost here! This after-hours event features some of the best entertainment (including the Muppets), plus meet-and-greets. The best part, though? The exclusive snacks! Jollywood Nights is back! Disney World just announced a sneak peek of the food coming to the specialty ticketed event, so grab a pen and paper; you’ll want to write down the must-haves. Spoiler alert: it might be everything! Here’s a look at some of the exclusive snacks coming to Jollywood Nights in 2026. First up: A Twix on a Classic Pie, brand-new and available at Fairfax Fare. It features shortbread cookie crust, caramel mousse, and chocolate (of course!). ©Disney You can also catch Bing Bong Candy Lemonade at Market… ©Disney …and Hickory Holiday Mac at Backlot Express. There’s barbecue pork and crispy onions! ©Disney A new Kermit Chocolate Pistachio Sundae will be at Hollywood Scoops, and we are far too excited for that cup. The party runs from 7:30 PM to 12:30 AM, but you can enter the park at 5:30 PM for some extra park time. The party is a great way to celebrate the holidays, with plenty of entertainment (and snacks) to enjoy. Disney parks all around the world are seeing some pretty intense construction, though we often talk most about what’s coming to Disney World, since that’s where we visit most often. However, Tokyo Disneyland has a new ride on the way that we’ve been looking forward to for what feels like YEARS now! ©Disney Back in August, Disney revealed the name for the new Wreck-It Ralph themed ride coming to Tokyo Disneyland, and now, we’ve got an opening date just a few months later! Get your credit cards ready, because you may be tempted to take an international flight in the next year. Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue will open up at Tokyo Disneyland on April 15th, 2027! That’s less than half a year away, which may sound like a long time right now, but with how fast the months fly, we know it’ll be here before we know it. That’s plenty of time to book a trip…right? @tokyodisneyresort_official on Instagram That’s far from the only news Disney released, though, because now we know more about the storyline of the ride, as well as how exactly it’ll work. Trouble is brewing inside this candy-themed race, because King Candy is planning to take over the world of video games. He’s transformed the candies throughout Sugar Rush, such as gummy candies, lollipops, bubble gum, and ice cream, into Sugar Bugs programmed to consume the entire kingdom. On the ride, you’ll team up with Ralph, Vanellope, and their friends to restore the Sugar Bugs to their original “kawaii” forms (the Japanese word for cute) before they can destroy Sugar Rush for good. ©Disney But how exactly is the game going to work? Well, since this ride is taking the place of Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, it’s a shooter-style attraction. Riders will use the scanners installed in the ride vehicles to defend Sugar Rush from King Candy. You’ll get points based on how many Sugar Bugs are restored, meaning it’s totally interactive. You’ll be able to see your score on the screens once the ride is over, and for a limited time after riding, you’ll be able to see your score on the Tokyo Disney Resort App, as well as the photos captured during the ride. @tokyodisneyresort_official on Instagram There will also be a gift shop next to the ride (where we WILL totally be spending more money than we should, thank you very much), where you’ll find new merchandise and food inspired by the attraction. It’ll be called Pixel Prism, and it’ll be opening the same day, April 15th, 2027. The store is inspired by a digital marketplace and will feature fiber optic-inspired design elements, pixel-patterned flooring, game-inspired motifs, and a large, illuminated pixel structure at its entrance. For those who love photos to remember their trips by, attraction-inspired decorations and photo opportunities will arrive in Tomorrowland on February 18th, followed by Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue-inspired projections at Cinderella Castle beginning March 18th. ©Disney There are also a few dining options hitting the parks ahead of the attraction’s opening! Nearby, Popping Station will open on March 17th, 2027, which will be a new popcorn stand overlooking Tomorrowland Plaza, serving up different kinds of popcorn, including the new Sugar-Lime Popcorn, a sweet-and-tart flavor inspired by the Sugar Bugs in Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue. And that’s not all! Yes, there’s more; we’re not kidding. If you can’t wait for the attraction to open, or you won’t be able to make it in person, beginning January 12th, 2027, you can train to help save Sugar Rush through a new smartphone mini-game that can be played at home (though a special version will be available in select areas of Tokyo Disneyland that will incorporate park scenery into the experience). ©Apple We’ve gotta admit that we’re super excited about this ride, but when the news about it was first announced back in October 2025, fans had some mixed feelings. We posted about the ride on our Instagram, and while some users were excited, like @sonicfan4yt, who said, “You know this looks pretty good, I mean sure they’re replacing a really good ride but this ride looks very good tbh hope it comes to US Disneyland in the future,” others weren’t as excited. User @pffulton74 said, “I don’t see the point in a slow omnimover Sugar Rush ride. I have to assume they’re just re-dressing the Buzz vehicles and ride path.” Others shared the same sentiment, bummed that the ride is an omnimover instead of a coaster, seeing as the Sugar Rush race is just that — a race. November is almost here, and with it comes a ton of holiday changes to Disney World, including to Animal Kingdom! Animal Kingdom Christmas tree While the resort’s fourth theme park doesn’t offer a massive holiday event like Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, Jollywood Nights, or The Festival of the Holidays, that doesn’t mean that Animal Kingdom is left out of the season’s cheer! Let’s take a look at everything changing at Animal Kingdom next month! Merry Menagerie Let’s begin with the Merry Menagerie, which is a daytime experience in the park’s Discovery Island area. Made up of artisan-crafted animal puppets including polar bears, reindeer, foxes, and penguins, the show wows guests with larger-than-life encounters. Polar Bear Merry Menagerie puppets Back in 2025, Chris Iannuzzi, Disney’s Live Entertainment Puppetry Director, said, “When someone reaches out to pet a polar bear, even though you can see the puppeteer right there, the puppet still feels so alive in that moment. Creating that believable interaction is a testament to not only the skill of our performers, but the power of puppetry.”  The Merry Menagerie Tree of Life Holiday Awakening November will also see Tree of Life: Awakenings return to the park’s central icon on November 1st. The show, which Disney describes as a “dazzling visual display swarming with color and animated imagery,” usually runs about once every 10 minutes beginning at 6:10 PM and running through 7 PM or 8 PM, depending on Animal Kingdom’s hours on each day. Tree of Life Awakenings The Christmas Season variant of the show — Tree of Life Awakenings Holiday Edition, which sees the icon “shimmer and sparkle” each evening to a heartwarming musical score — is set to debut on November 13th. Tree of Life Awakenings – Holiday Edition Mickey and Minnie in Their Holiday Best The usual Mickey and Minnie character greet at Adventurers Outpost will receive a holiday overlay featuring the duo all decked out in their holiday attire. Disney PhotoPass photo boxes will be available during the meet-and-greet, so you don’t have to worry about taking your own photos — the box will do it for you! ©Disney Santa’s Holiday Grove Santa Claus has a new location at Animal Kingdom. Located across from Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond!’s Theater in the Wild, this new trail features intermittent snow flurries, specialty food and beverage items, a seasonal soundtrack, and a meeting with Santa Claus himself! Santa in his 2025 Animal Kingdom greeting spot… which no longer exists. Decorations Galore! From a 55-foot Christmas tree at the park’s entrance to festive garlands created from recycled materials and traditional African textiles in Harambe and even seasonal touches in Pandora, Animal Kingdom will be loaded with holiday decorations! All of these seasonal additions begin November 13th! However, there’s more than just seasonal additions coming to Animal Kingdom in November. Animal Kingdom Christmas Nomad Lounge Reservations Nomad Lounge, which is one of our favorite places to grab a drink and food in the park, is set to offer reservations for the first time ever! From October 20th through December 18th, from 3 PM to close, Annual Passholders can order two small plates and two beverages for just $49. The deal is available to all Disney World Annual Passholders and up to three guests, but this deal does not begin until November 8th, so until then, you’ll just have to visit the restaurant on a walk-up-only basis. Nomad Lounge Churros You will still be able to join the walk-up waitlist after November 8th, but a reservation will secure you a spot at the lounge on the day and time you want. Reservations are still highly recommended. Nomad Lounge Extended Evening Hours Extended Evening Hours, the hotel perk that offers two extra hours to guests staying at Disney Deluxe Tier or Deluxe Villa resorts at select theme parks on select evenings after the park closes to the general public, will be available at Animal Kingdom on the following dates in November: 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th from 6 PM to 8 PM. If one thing holds our entire Disney World trip together, it’s the My Disney Experience app. This single app has almost everything we need, from dining reservations and Lightning Lanes to hotel information and even wait times, so we know which rides to hit. Right now, it seems to be having some issues that we’re struggling with. ©Disney When we opened the app this morning, a pop-up appeared showing that it might be a rough day for the Disney World app. The pop-up on the app said, “Pardon the inconvenience. Merchandise Mobile Checkout is currently unavailable. We’re actively working to resolve the issue. We apologize for any inconvenience.” No merchandise mobile checkout? Oh no! That’s one of our favorite features, and it keeps us from waiting in line too long in stores. ©Disney We hopped on Reddit to see if people were having similar problems, and someone mentioned that My Disney Experience is glitching and deleting and recreating all attractions every 30 seconds. So if you’re struggling to find an attraction, it’s not you; it’s the app. ©Disney Because this app is such an integral part of the Disney World experience, Disney usually fixes problems quickly, so we expect attractions to be resolved fast. Merchandise checkout might take a bit longer, though. ©Disney In many Disney World stores, you can open the mobile checkout and scan items in the app. You can complete checkout, and yes, it includes your discounts, then check with a Cast Member right before you exit. If you’ve ever been stuck in a line at the Emporium at the end of the night, holding onto a Stitch plush and wondering if you’ll ever make it home, you know how important mobile checkout can be. Mobile Checkout at Creations Shop in EPCOT Truth be told, our number one thing about mobile ordering at Disney is the food! Many quick-service restaurants let you order in the app and choose a pickup time. Talk about saving time in line! It’s super easy to pass the phone around, let your family order, and pick it up when it’s ready. Right now, the mobile ordering feature is still working, and we haven’t found any issues. They recently announced they will start adding artificial intelligence (AI) to help people plan trips with personalized recommendations. The news drew mixed responses among guests, and the AI features are set to roll out soon. ©Disney UPDATE: As of 10 AM, merchandise mobile checkout is working again! We found that the pop-up went away, and we were able ot use it while inside the parks. We’ll continue watching for other updates. Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue officially opens April 15, 2027, at Tokyo Disneyland. The first attraction in the world themed to the Walt Disney Animation Studios film Wreck-It Ralph, Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue will invite you on an interactive adventure alongside Ralph, Vanellope, and their friends. And today, we have even more new details to share, for the first time. What Is Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue? Sugar Rush may look sweet, but trouble is brewing inside the candy-themed racing game. King Candy is plotting to take over the world of video games and has transformed the candies throughout Sugar Rush including gummy candies, lollipops, bubble gum, and ice cream, into Sugar Bugs programmed to consume the entire kingdom. On this all-new adventure, you’ll enter the game world and team up with Ralph, Vanellope, and their friends to restore the Sugar Bugs to their original “kawaii” (Japanese for cute!) forms before they can destroy Sugar Rush. How Does the Wreck-It Ralph Ride Work? Here is where things get competitive! Using scanners installed in the ride vehicles, you’ll work together to defend Sugar Rush from King Candy. Points will be awarded based on factors including the types and number of Sugar Bugs restored, adding an interactive gaming element to the experience. Once the adventure is complete, you’ll be able to see your results on the ride onboard vehicle screens. For a limited time after riding, results will also be available through the Tokyo Disney Resort App. Photos captured during the experience will also automatically be added to My Photos in the app and available for purchase. New Wreck-It Ralph Merchandise and Popcorn Flavor The fun will continue outside the attraction with new merchandise and food inspired by Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue. Pixel Prism, a new shop located next to the attraction, will also open on April 15, 2027. Inspired by a digital marketplace, the colorful space will feature fiber optic-inspired design elements, pixel-patterned flooring, and game-inspired motifs, along with a large, illuminated pixel structure at its entrance. Here you’ll be able to shop for attraction-inspired items and other merchandise, including plush, candy, and toys inspired by the scanners found aboard the attraction. Also opening nearby on March 17 is Popping Station, a new popcorn stand overlooking Tomorrowland Plaza. The location will serve Sugar-Lime Popcorn, a sweet-and-tart flavor inspired by the Sugar Bugs in Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue. This brand-new flavor will also be available at popcorn wagons throughout Tokyo Disneyland. Fun Fact: Tokyo Disney Resort is famous for its variety of unique popcorn flavors, including soy sauce and butter, garlic shrimp, strawberry napoleon, and more. Sugar-Lime is the newest addition to the lineup and will be available exclusively at Tokyo Disneyland, starting March 17, 2027. Don’t forget to save room for a few extra bites, additional special menu items celebrating the attraction’s opening will be offered at restaurants across Tokyo Disneyland. Wreck-It Ralph Fun Starts Before the Attraction Opens We’re already counting down the days until the ride opens, but you won’t have to wait until April 15 to get a taste! Beginning January 12, 2027, you can train to help save the world of Sugar Rush through a new smartphone mini-game. The game can be played at home, while a special version available in select areas of Tokyo Disneyland will incorporate park scenery into the experience. The excitement will continue to build throughout the park as attraction-inspired decorations and photo opportunities arrive in Tomorrowland on February 18, followed by Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue-inspired projections at Cinderella Castle beginning March 18. What Else is New in Tomorrowland at Tokyo Disneyland? Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue is just one part of a much bigger transformation underway in Tomorrowland. At the center of this new vision, Tomorrowland Plaza is designed around the idea of humanity and nature existing in harmony and serves as a connection between Tomorrowland’s past and future. The plaza will feature structures inspired by natural elements including fire, water, earth, and wood, along with light inspired by celestial bodies such as the Sun and Moon. At night, the area will transform through light and sound. You’ll also be able to stop by Element Express, a new counter-service restaurant at Tomorrowland Plaza offering snacks and drinks. A New Space Mountain is Coming to Tokyo Disneyland Another major part of Tomorrowland’s evolution is Space Mountain Earthrise, an all-new take on the fan-favorite coaster. The attraction will preserve the spirit of the original Space Mountain while introducing brand-new architecture and a newly developed ride system that combines imaginative storytelling and immersive theatrical effects inspired by the wonders of space. The attraction begins with a launch from Earth and hurtling deep into space. Together, Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue, Space Mountain Earthrise, and Tomorrowland Plaza, plus new dining and shopping experiences, are helping shape the next chapter of Tomorrowland at Tokyo Disneyland.
