  2. Disney World does something to children. Maybe it’s the heat, or the sugar, or the fact that they woke up at 5:47 AM because their parents watched every “rope drop” video on YouTube and have been operating on caramel apples and adrenaline ever since. Whatever the reason, spend enough time in Disney World, and eventually you will see a child do something so spectacularly strange that you have to stop, stare, and briefly wonder about all of the factors that brought you to this moment. Hi Bingo! And listen, kids are kids. They’re curious and creative, and their impulse control is still under construction. Sometimes the weird thing they’re doing is completely harmless and objectively hilarious. Other times, you find yourself wondering why somebody is licking the Haunted Mansion queue. Yes, licking. Our team has spent a LOT of time in Disney World, and we started comparing notes about some of the wildest things we’ve witnessed kids do in the parks and hotels. Friends, we had stories. Wearing Shopping Bags as Ponchos We’ll start with something I almost have to admire. Disney World rainstorms have a way of arriving when the sky looked perfectly innocent 11 minutes earlier, which means occasionally you have to improvise. And we have seen children wearing Disney shopping bags as makeshift ponchos. Plastic shopping bags Head through the bottom. Arms through strategically placed holes. Congratulations, your $45 Spirit Jersey purchase has now also provided emergency outerwear. It isn’t glamorous or particularly safe (plastic bags can be suffocation hazards, after all), but I have to give props for creativity and ingenuity. And to be fair, the kiddo didn’t think this up by himself; there was definitely an adult involved who saw the $12 poncho in the shop and decided that they had spent enough. But compared to what’s coming later on this list, the shopping bag poncho kids are practically wilderness survival experts. Tap Dancing on a Via Napoli Table One of my personal favorites happened at Via Napoli in EPCOT. A child climbed onto the table and proceeded to perform what I can only describe as a miniature tap dance routine. Not one quick bounce onto the table before a parent intervened. A routine. Via Napoli in EPCOT’s Italy pavilion Meanwhile, the adults at the table continued their conversation like this was simply the entertainment portion of dinner. I was fascinated, dumbfounded, and completely perplexed while also wondering what this family’s home life must look like if this is normal “out at a restaurant” behavior. Via Napoli in Epcot Via Napoli already has giant pizza ovens named after Italian volcanoes. And on this particular afternoon, it also had dinner theater. I get it, kids get restless during long meals. But restaurant tables are generally better suited for pizza than choreography. Putting Absolutely Everything in Their Mouths Children explore the world with all five senses. Unfortunately, sometimes they really commit to taste. We’ve watched kids put a questionable number of weird things in their mouths. We’re talking loose change, MagicBand fobs, pens, and Sharpies. You know, the same Sharpie they are about to hand Mickey Mouse so he can sign an autograph book. Mickey signing the bottle Disney World has Mickey pretzels, DOLE Whip, cheeseburger spring rolls, and about eleven billion other legitimate things to eat. The quarter from the bottom of Mom’s backpack does not need to make the tasting menu. Beyond the obvious germ factor, small objects can become choking hazards, which is where the quirky childhood curiosity stops being funny pretty quickly. Licking Disney World This deserves its own category because, according to the kiddos, Disney World is one enormous lollipop and nobody told us. One member of our team watched a kid lick the railing while walking through the “it’s a small world” queue. “it’s a small world” I’ve watched a child lick the queue chain at Haunted Mansion. Another team member saw a kid lick the monorail window during COVID, I may add. Someone else watched a child fully lick the gemstones around Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. Not touch them. Not press their face against them while looking closely. LICK. Interactive Elements At some point during our discussion, a DFB team member finally asked the question haunting all of us: Why are they licking everything? We do not have an answer, but we do have hand sanitizer. Bring it. Licking PEOPLE Unfortunately, the licking problem does not end with Disney infrastructure. I know this because I have been licked. By a child I did not know. On the back of my leg. And, somehow, this ALSO happened in the Haunted Mansion queue. It still haunts me (pun intended). Haunted Mansion queue There’s another slightly less horrifying version of this phenomenon that several members of our team have experienced: kids standing behind you in a queue and just…rubbing your legs. Tiny hand. Stranger’s calf. No introduction. Little kids are still learning personal boundaries, so an accidental bump or grab happens. Disney queues can also pack people together pretty tightly. But if your kid has been quietly petting the stranger in front of you for the last four minutes, it may be time to redirect. Turning Souvenirs Into Weapons Bubble wands are delightful until they become medieval weaponry. One of our team members had a child smack her in the leg with a bubble wand. His mom responded, “Aw, sorry, he just got it.” Which explains why he had the bubble wand, but did not entirely explain why our team member’s shin needed to meet it. Bubble wand in Disney World We’ve also seen kids walking around deliberately whacking people with banshee tails from Pandora. Disney sells a tremendous number of toys that swing, flap, light up, bubble, extend, retract, or otherwise become surprisingly dangerous when placed in the hands of someone who has recently discovered centrifugal force. A quick “please don’t hit strangers with your banshee” goes a long way. Chasing Down Characters This one happens more often than you might think. Kids get excited when they see characters. (I can’t blame them; I do, too!) You’re seven years old, and you see Winnie the Pooh walking toward you. Rational decision-making has left the building. But our team has repeatedly watched kids chase characters through restaurants and parks, run in front of them, or cut them off while they’re trying to reach their meet-and-greet location. Don’t leave the line! One particularly memorable Chef Mickey’s incident involved children running across the dining room to intercept Mickey before he could reach the other tables. We’ve also watched kids run directly in front of Pooh and Tigger as they were walking. Chef Mickey at Chef Mickey’s! Characters often have limited visibility, particularly when wearing costumes with large heads or other elaborate elements. Darting directly in front of them can put both the child and the Cast Member in a genuinely unsafe situation. You want a core memory from childhood being hugged by Mickey, not breaking his ankle because he tripped over you. Raiding Other People’s Tables at Chef Mickey’s And speaking of Chef Mickey’s, another DFB Reporter has a story that remains burned into several of our brains. A child from another party walked over, took her bag off her seat, and threw it underneath the table. Then the child started removing things from her table. Salt. Pepper. Menus. Again, this was not somebody seated with her group. Chef Mickey’s table setting Imagine enjoying your Mickey waffles and suddenly realizing a preschooler from four tables away has begun systematically dismantling your place setting. Kids get bored, they explore, and grab things. They decide that the salt shaker is suddenly the most fascinating object in the entire Contemporary Resort. That’s also where the adults accompanying them need to jump in. Nobody wants to spend breakfast on a scavenger hunt because little Jimmy has decided Chef Mickey’s entire condiment inventory belongs in his own collection. Eating Floor Pizza And finally, we arrive at an incident so powerful that I have thought about it repeatedly since hearing the story. One of our team members used to work at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort. One night, while delivering packages to rooms, she came across a group of middle school boys hanging around the exterior hallway. All-Star Movies Resort There was a food court pizza sitting upside down on the ground. To be completely clear, the CHEESE SIDE was touching the floor. She then watched one of the kids pick up a slice and eat it. Middle school boys are a different species. Kids Are Going To Kid, But Disney World Is Still a Public Place Part of the fun of being around kids is that they are unpredictable little agents of chaos. They make weird choices. They invent games nobody else understands. They wear shopping bags as rain gear. They do things that become family stories you’ll still be telling at Thanksgiving 20 years later. And some of the insanity is delightful. Family Zumba Class But Disney World is still a public place filled with thousands of other people. Vacation doesn’t mean basic safety and manners disappear somewhere around the “Welcome to Walt Disney World” sign. Licking railings and putting random objects in your mouth can spread germs or make a kid sick. Running through restaurants or darting in front of characters can cause somebody to get hurt. Hitting strangers with toys or invading another table stops being adorable pretty quickly for the stranger involved. Tiana meeting at Princess Fairytale Hall And parents don’t magically clock out because there are other adults nearby. If you need to focus on something else for a minute, hand kid-watching duty to another adult in your group. If your child does something unsafe or inappropriate, redirect them. If you suddenly notice your kid has acquired three pepper shakers that did not belong to your table, perhaps investigate. It’s Daisy Duck! Disney World should be a place where kids can be loud, curious, goofy, excited, and wonderfully weird. We’re just asking them to please stop licking it. 5. RED ALERT! RED ALERT! Sound the alarm because my beignets are MISSING! Okay, okay, not really, but you have to understand how much beignets affect my visit to Disney World, and that they’re moving to a different location. Mickey Beignets at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort We knew they were moving, but now that day is here, and we’re feeling the feelings. But don’t worry, beingets are not going away, just switching spots. Normally, you can find these delightful Mickey-shaped beignets at Scat Cat’s Club at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter, but Scat Cat’s Club is going under refurbishment. The Cafe and Lounge are officially closed as of October, and the cafe is set to be closed till December and the Lounge until January. Scat Cat’s Club – Café For now, you can find the beignets and coffee at Sassagoula Floatworks & Food Factory, and a temporary bar will be available near the cafe from 5 PM to 11 PM each night. Okay, so they’re just moving a bit over, but we don’t want you to see it closed and get worried about your beignets. Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory If you’re just craving beignets and the Mickey shape isn’t a requirement for you (come on, you’re in Disney World! It’s got to be a requirement), then you can also find them at Golden Oak Outpost at Magic Kingdom. It’s right by Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, so you feel like Princess Tiana made them herself. Golden Oak Outpost Maybe you’re just a donut person (and don’t argue with me about the difference between a beignet and a donut; they’re pretty dang similar). Joffrey’s Coffee locations have these big donuts that I start off almost every park day with. My personal favorite is chocolate or the pink one with a hot cocoa! DONUT! 16. Construction, new merchandise, DOLE whip flights — Disney Springs literally has it ALL right now, and we’re bringing you along with us for everything you need to know! Disney Springs! You know, we feel like sometimes Disney Springs is taken for granted. The Disney World shopping and dining district has so much more to offer than people realize. We recently went to Disney Springs, and we came across so many things that we need to update you on. Buckle up, because there’s a lot to look at! Food and Drinks There are quite a few things that you can enjoy during spooky season at Disney Springs. The Coca-Cola store has a seasonal drink called Spooky Cream, while Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar has an exclusive Halloween menu. Oh, and you’re not going to want to miss out on the DOLE Whip flight at Swirls on the Water. The flight dropped in September, but it’s still available! September DOLE Whip Flight Merchandise There’s a whole lot of new merchandise at Disney Springs. However, it’s not Halloween merch; it’s Christmas merch! That’s right, World of Disney has already started rolling out clothing for the holiday season. We saw a sweatshirt for $49.99, which seemed to be a repeat of an older Spirit Jersey. Holiday merch is rolling out! World of Disney had some more holiday-themed merchandise like t-shirts for kids and adults, Chip & Dale furry Crocs, a Starbucks holiday metal sipper for $49.99, and an ADORABLE new Pooh Holiday crew neck sweatshirt for $49.99. We’re surprised we didn’t grab that right then and there. Look at the Pooh sweatshirt! Construction Construction is still happening at Ghirardelli as the treat spot works on a remodel. We also noticed that the Face Painting kiosk was getting a fresh coat of paint. We can’t imagine that remodeling will take as long. As for Ghirardelli, walls will be up for a while, as we wait for its opening. Original location is under construction! Coming Soon As we walked around, we noticed some new things are on the way. Anthropologie is prepping for new window displays and currently has a dark blue background. Over at the former Wolfgang Puck space, we saw a sign in the front saying something new is coming. Most exciting of all, the signs are up for the new Hallmark Holiday Pop-Up that’s opening this week! Hallmark Pop-Up! So, there are quite a few reasons why you need to make your way to Disney Springs, because there’s a lot going on, with even more on the way. We’re always here to update you on everything happening at Disney World, just in case you missed anything. 17. In case you didn’t know, we are reporting live from the Disney Wish for Day 2 of our sneak peek of the Disney Believe ship, joining the fleet in 2027. ©Disney We are getting clues every day, leading us to some hints about what we can find on the new ship, so we are here to bring you everything we learned on Day 2! We started our day by snagging the Disney Believe Coffee before getting started right away on the day’s Scavenger Hunt. Disney Believe Coffee Our clue was a tiny bucket with a note attached that said we would have to “Fill the bucket with [BLANK],” and after reading the clue, we realized we had to go look at the paintings to figure out what needed to go inside the bucket. Clues! After we finished that first clue, we were told to take our bucket to Oaken, where we were given a Scavenger Hunt Board. And we right away noticed many mentions of Monsters Inc., Encanto, The Little Mermaid, Frozen, and even Monsters University. All of those could be clues to characters and spaces we might see on the new ship. We already know we would be thrilled to get some Monsters University representation. Scavenger Hunt Board The back also had the schedule for the day, showing even more hints to Encanto as well as other movies. Schedule After we completed our scavenger hunt, we were given a swag bag with lots of goodies. While nothing in the bag was a confirmed clue, here is what we think we might have learned from the bag and our overall thoughts on what we learned from Day 2: There could potentially be a Peter Pan bar. We might be getting a villains lounge. There could be a Piano Bar that might be themed to The Little Mermaid. We might be getting some sort of spot dedicated to Inside Out, maybe an Ice Cream Shop. We are also hopeful that we might be getting an Encanto rotational dining restaurant. Disney Wish Once again, these are all just our theories as we try to piece together all the hints and clues, so stay tuned to Disney Food Blog because we will be updating you as soon as any important news on the Disney Believe drops! 18. Disneyland fans, listen up! One of the most difficult Disneyland policies is officially changing, and if you’re a Magic Key Holder, you’ll be especially excited about this one. Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland Because the infamous “No-Show” Policy is FINALLY being removed! Let’s dive into everything we know so far. If you didn’t know, Magic Key Holders are Disneyland’s version of Annual Passholders, but the program varies a lot from what you might know about Disney World. One of the biggest differences is the very controversial “No-Show” Policy Magic Key Holders find very frustrating. Disney California Adventure Essentially, this is a system where guests are penalized if they create a park reservation but then “No-Show,” meaning they do not use the reservation by showing up to the parks and forget to cancel it on the app. If you were to receive three no-shows within a 90-day window, you would be blocked from making reservations for 30 days. Which you can imagine was not a fan-favorite policy among guests. ©Disney Well, it looks like Disneyland is finally listening to Magic Key Holders because they sent out an email confirming that as of October 7th, 2026, the “No-Show” Policy would be removed AND guests will be able to modify or cancel any Park reservation up until 11:59 PM PT on the date of the reservation. The goal of these changes is to provide a more positive experience and give more flexibility to guests. Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout Jill Estorino, the President of Disneyland Resort, explained in the email, “I want you to know that we’re listening — your insights, ideas, and experiences matter. You help us improve the experience for our Guests as we imagine our future while honoring our past…We also continue to look for opportunities to show our appreciation for you.” This is extremely exciting news, and we hope it makes visiting Disneyland as a Magic Key Holder an even more positive and magical experience. Radiator Springs at Disney California Adventure We will continue to bring you all the news from Disneyland, Disney World, and Beyond. So stay tuned to Disney Food Blog so you never miss anything! 19. Every day we’re getting more and more excited for the newest ship coming to the Disney Cruise Line, and it’s because of all the news being dropped and the secrets we’re finding out. We’re currently aboard the Disney Wish, and man, do we have some exciting things to share with you! Disney Believe We’re learning about Disney’s next new ship, Disney Believe, and, of course, we want to pass everything along to you — you’re going to want to hear about some secrets we’re finding out! The Disney Cruise Line has an amazing lineup of lounges across all their ships, and we think Disney just teased a very exciting one for the Disney Believe! There has been so much to see and hear, but what we have loved the most were some teasers of the drinks and treats that are coming to the Disney Believe. That included an Evil Queen drink at Bayou, a drink in a seashell at Nightingales, a chocolate orange ice cream, and a gin martini in a constellation glass at Keg & Compass. New drink! While all four of the Disney Believe exclusive items were good, we couldn’t help but keep thinking about the Evil Queen drink. It had a strong green apple flavor, and the bubbles were quite subtle. The green apple flavor has more of a syrupy and sugary flavor than fruity, and while it was pretty sweet, we actually really enjoyed it. Evil Queen drink Yes, the drink was good, but that wasn’t our main thought. Our main thought was, where could you get this at on the Disney Believe? Could this drink be at a…Villains Lounge perhaps?! While Disney hasn’t explicitly said anything, we think the Bayou will be a full villains lounge. Evil Queen drink We actually got even more evidence that this could be a thing through the merchandise and hints they’ve given us. A lot of it is themed after Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and more specifically the Evil Queen, so we could definitely see a Villains lounge coming in the future. What does it mean?! On top of that, we think we have a hunch on some other possible lounges. For example, we think the constellation drink that we had could be for Peter Pan or a Peter Pan-themed bar. We also think there could be a Little Mermaid piano bar, and the ice cream could be located at an Inside Out 2 ice cream spot (Anger was near the ice cream on the Wish). We’re on the Disney Wish learning all about the Disney Believe! The Disney Believe is the fourth Wish-class cruise ship and is scheduled to make its debut in late 2027. While we’ll share all the details you need to know, Disney Cruise Line will actually stream a live event on October 7th to announce official details we’ve been dying to know. So, stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog, because we’ll cover anything you miss from the stream. 21. Disney World is getting even MORE expensive! The most dreaded time of year has arrived: price increase season. This is a time every year when prices go up across all of Disney, affecting food, tickets, and much more. Photo Pass Cast Member! And this year it looks like even Memory Maker was not safe from the increases. The Memory Maker service allows you to download photos taken throughout the Disney World parks by both PhotoPass photographers and on-ride cameras. With Memory Maker, you can download ALL the photos taken during your Disney World vacation. As well, download the photos of anyone you are friends with on the My Disney Experience app. PhotoPass Cast Member When purchasing Memory Maker, you can choose to purchase the service for the length of your trip or for just a single day of your trip. You can also save money by purchasing the service at least 3 days in advance of your trip! PhotoPass This service just saw a price increase, so let’s see what you will have to pay for your photo downloads now. Here were the prices before the increase for Memory Maker: Memory Maker purchased at least three days in advance: $185 Memory Maker: $210 Memory Maker One Day: $75 Now, here is the post-increase pricing: Memory Maker purchased at least three days in advance: $185 Memory Maker: $210 Memory Maker One Day: $85 ©Disney So, thankfully, only one of the tiers got an increase, and it only went up $10! While any increase in price is always a bummer, we’ve seen steeper increases this year, so we will take it. It looks like your best bet for getting the most use out of your Photo Pass is to still purchase Memory Maker at least three days in advance, since that offering has not changed in price. PhotoPass Photographers You can get lots of fun photo opportunities with PhotoPass photographers, and they can even create Magic Shots for you. If you want pictures of your whole group without having to pay for the pictures, you can always ask a PhotoPass photographer nicely to take your picture with your phone. However, it is not a guarantee they will be able to take the photos. PhotoPass Cast Members Memory Maker can be a great investment as there are LOTS of photo opportunities at all of the parks, but it is also important to weigh the cost of the service to the benefit for your group. 22. Disney World is currently undergoing a plethora of changes, including new lands, refurbished attractions, a brand-new hotel, and a few new restaurants. While new things are exciting, changes can also be scary, and fans haven’t held back about sharing what they think of these additions. Hurly-Burly Two new dining locations have recently opened, and we’ve received quite a few comments on our Instagram and Facebook about them, with what YOU think! And one location has been received much more positively than the other — let’s dive into what you think! Let’s start with the newly opened location at Disney’s BoardWalk — the Hurly-Burly. This spot opened up on October 1st with hours from 4 PM to 1 AM. During the day, this space will act as a family-friendly lounge with host-led trivia and games and will transition to a 21+ spot at night with live music performances. Here, guests will be able to enjoy “classic, coastal-inspired cocktails” and dishes “inspired by Italian American favorites and classic boardwalk bites.” Hurly-Burly Unfortunately, there have been a lot of negative comments about this spot since its preview and opening. A lot of guests are complaining that this spot is too generic, including @anewhopegirl on Instagram, who mentioned it looks like “a failed cruise line concept.” @chrisottum agreed and wrote, “You want to replace Jelly Rolls? Ok, but make it a worthy successor. This just looks one step above any other generic lounge. Whomever is running the creative side of the design team is missing the creativity, whimsy, and imagination needed to make Disney unique.” The stage at Hurly-Burly @redwingedreptar also commented on the transformation from Jellyrolls to Hurly-Burly, writing, “I can’t believe they’d massacre Jellyrolls like this. Look what they’ve done to my boy.” @holcos814 said, “I expect more from a Deluxe Resort,” and @docandblondie went so far as to say, “They promised us jazz club and delivered a cafeteria instead.” YIKES. Hurly-Burly However, it wasn’t all negative. @midlifeonmainstreet thinks the Hurly-Burly “looks perfect for the Boardwalk!” @kennedyelizalee actually commented on all of the negativity this lounge is receiving, saying, “Why is everyone being so negative? I LOVE it!!” And finally, @lizmrose spoke about its generic look in a positive way: “I don’t know what kind of lounges other people are going to in their daily lives that they think this is generic. I LOVE the aesthetic! The small bites are great options, and having non-alcoholic drinks is a huge bonus! Can’t wait to try it!” Overture in Orange Now, over to the new lounge in the Magic Kingdom — the Diamond Horseshoe! This charming Old West-themed music hall in Liberty Square is acting as a pop-up experience for a limited time with small bites and drinks. So, how does this one bode with the guests? The Diamond Horseshoe A lot of the negative comments were actually about the additional alcoholic drinks available in the parks, including @mahaloginger, who said, “Oh goody, more alcohol at a children’s theme park can’t wait for the ruckus to begin.” And Linda Jean commented, “Don’t need to encourage more drinking in the parks.” Cactus Rose Margarita Amy Husley-Micheli also spoke negatively about the establishment, saying, “Oh super, another “money raking” in bar. Seems to be the only dining option Disney keeps adding.” And @donnad.321 won’t even be giving it a chance, as they wrote, “Look gross to me – I will not be trying it for sure!!” Charcuterie But just like the Hurly-Burly, there are always guests looking forward to trying it, including @themagicaldetails who said, “The dirty soda and tostadas are calling my name!!” @followme.tothe.magic and @krosed26 are also excited to try out the new spot, commenting, “Goodness that looks good!!” and “Okay this actually looks great!” respectively. @mickeyinminutes even hopes this spot is so popular that it becomes permanent! Chipotle Chicken Tostada Change is scary, but it doesn’t have to be! The Hurly-Burly at Disney’s BoardWalk and the Diamond Horseshoe at Magic Kingdom have both officially OPENED! 24. Can you hear distant screaming? That’s just our wallets, no big deal. We’ve been dreading this day all year, but there’s nothing we can do to stop it from happening — it’s official, price increases have hit Disneyland. Disneyland We’ve been covering all of the price increases happening Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World, and it’s time to talk about Disneyland tickets. Whether you’ve started to plan your Disneyland trip or you’re about to, you’re going to want to take a look at these price changes and how they’ll impact your budget. When it comes to Disney tickets, prices vary depending on when you visit the park. More popular times of the year are more expensive than less popular times. That would include times like holidays. When it comes to the new prices, we’ve broken them down into tiers. Tier 0 is the least popular times, and Tier 6 is the most popular times. It’s important to note that currently, tickets are only available through June 2027, so it’s possible more expensive tickets could be seen in the latter half of the year. Here’s how the price increases look: Tier 0 tickets had NO CHANGE, staying at $104 Tier 1 tickets have increased from $129 to $134 ($5 increase) Tier 2 tickets have increased from $149 to $154 ($5 increase) Tier 3 tickets have increased from $169 to $174 ($5 increase) Tier 4 tickets have increased from $184 to $189 ($5 increase) Tier 5 tickets had NO CHANGE, staying at $199 Tier 6 tickets had NO CHANGE, staying at $224 Disneyland Park Hopper options have also gone up with the ticket price increase. Before, Park Hopper tickets cost between $174 and $314 depending on the date tier. Now, the price for Park Hoppers has increased to range from $179 to $319. Remember, the lower end of the Park Hopper will be on less busy days. Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland The price increases aren’t stopping there, as Lightning Lane Multi Pass at Disneyland is going up as well. It will now cost $35 instead of $34 if you’re purchasing it ahead of your trip. Matterhorn Bobsleds Lightning Lane in Disneyland Fortunately, multi-day tickets, all Magic Key prices, and parking at Disneyland Resort remain unchanged, which is fantastic news for all of our wallets. 25. I’ve been eating my way around Disney World for more than 30 years. That means I have watched restaurants come and go. I’ve eaten my weight in festival food. I’ve stood in EPCOT holding three tiny plates at once while attempting to balance a drink on my forearm. I have opinions about Disney snacks that are stronger than some of my opinions about actual important things. 2025 Live Entertainment And after all those years, one Disney World food event still gets me ridiculously excited. It’s the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic. Yes, EPCOT’s International Food & Wine Festival gets most of the attention. I love that festival, too. But if you asked me which Disney World food event I would choose for one really good night of eating, drinking, and wandering around with absolutely nowhere else I needed to be? I’m heading to the Swan and Dolphin. And the 2026 event is coming up VERY soon. This Is a VERY Different Kind of Disney Food Festival First, we need to talk about what makes the Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic different. The event takes place outside the parks, along the causeway between the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin hotels. You don’t need a park ticket. You don’t need a Park Pass. You don’t even need to be staying at the Swan and Dolphin to attend. You buy your event ticket, show up, and start eating. The 2024 Food and Wine Classic! For 2026, the Food & Wine Classic takes place November 20th and 21st from 5 PM to 9 PM. The event is celebrating its 17th year and brings together dishes from the Swan and Dolphin’s chefs, wines, beer, spirits, live entertainment, and more. And here’s the part I REALLY love. Your Causeway ticket includes unlimited food and beverage tastings. Read that again — Unlimited. Burnt Ends and Pimento Melt There is no standing at a booth debating whether you really want to spend another $9 on a three-bite appetizer. There is no loading money onto a gift card and watching the balance evaporate over the course of an evening. If you try something and immediately decide you need another one, GO GET ANOTHER ONE. This is dangerous information in my hands. Vegetable Galette Slider Single-night tickets for 2026 are $215 per person, or $234.90 with taxes and service fees. A two-night bundle is $387 per person, or $422.94 with taxes and service fees. That is absolutely an investment for one evening. But once I start comparing it with what I can spend on dinner, drinks, and entertainment during a normal Disney World night, the math gets much more manageable. The Food Is the Main Event This isn’t a festival where the food feels like something designed to be assembled as quickly as possible for several thousand hungry people. The Swan and Dolphin has some serious culinary muscle behind it, and the Classic lets those chefs show off a little. We’ve eaten some spectacular dishes here over the years. Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Food and Wine Classic media event In 2024, our favorites included a Shaved Asparagus Salad from Todd English’s bluezoo with cured yellowfin tuna, miso egg yolk, and yuzu Kewpie; a Burnt Ends & Pimento Melt; a Red Wine Braised Beef Short Rib with browned butter potato gnocchi; Butter Poached Bay Scallops; and a Chocolate Blackberry Choux Puff. Bluezoo’s Dynamite Shrimp Tempura Then 2025 came along with dishes like a Red Wine Braised Wagyu Short Rib from Bourbon Steak, Blue Crab Stir-Fried Rice from bluezoo, and some genuinely gorgeous desserts. Bourbon Steak Dish This event has a habit of serving the kind of food that makes me stop mid-conversation. You know the bite. You take it, stare down at the plate, and suddenly the person talking to you no longer exists because you need a moment alone with a short rib. The 2026 Menu Is Already Making Me Hungry And 2026 appears determined to continue that tradition. Bourbon Steak is serving a Slow Braised Wagyu Beef Short Rib with celery root espuma and shallot marmalade. Rosa Mexicano has Flautas de Pollo, Tacos de Cochinita Pibil, and a whole chips and salsa bar. For the Love of Florida is bringing Ropa Vieja, Red Grouper, Fried Green Tomatoes, and a Florida Citrus salad. Rosa Mexicana Over at Chinatown, you’ll find Pan-Fried Shrimp & Pork Dumplings, Turnip Cake, Taro Puff, and Shu Mein. The Beer Garden has wings, brats, and fresh-baked Bavarian pretzels. Carnival Corner is serving Texas Red Chili, a Char Siu Pulled Pork Slider, Tornado Potatoes, and Old Bay Spiced Nitro Popcorn. Kimonos And then there are the desserts. Coffee Crème Brûlée. A Cinnamon Roll Waffle with dulce de leche ice cream. Campfire Mocha with chocolate coffee mousse and toasted marshmallow. The Peach with white peach mousse and peach compote. A Snickerdoodle Banana Profiterole. Desserts I would like to remind everyone that this event lasts four hours. So, bring your appetite and wear a waistband that has some give to it. Make a Night of It This may be the biggest reason the Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic has stayed at the top of my list. It feels like an EVENT. Disney World vacations have a way of turning dinner into another task on the itinerary: Get to the reservation. Eat. Check the wait times. Decide whether you can make it back to EPCOT. Check your phone. Hurry to the next thing. The Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic gives you permission to stay put. You can take your time here. Grab a bite, follow it with a glass of wine, and keep moving until something else catches your eye. Maybe it’s the live music. Maybe it’s another savory dish you somehow still have room for. Or maybe it’s that dessert you spotted earlier and have been thinking about ever since. Swan and Dolphin Food and Wine Classic Entertainment For 2026, the entertainment lineup includes The Rundown, Live Effect, Stella Beat, Slickwood, and returning Bubble Lounge performers Claudia & Alex. Nobody is asking me to scan into an attraction in seven minutes. This is my kind of Disney night. And Then There Are the Drinks The “Wine” part of Food & Wine is not decorative. The Classic features wine, beer, and spirits from around the world, and certified sommeliers are part of the event. But this isn’t just a chance to grab a drink; it’s a chance to try things you might never order by the bottle or commit to at a restaurant. And if you REALLY want to nerd out about it, the Classic has historically offered ticketed educational experiences separately. Toki Whiskey Past events have included wine blending, Champagne tastings, craft cocktail classes, beer seminars, Italian wine education, and even pasta making. In other words, you can go from “I like this wine” to discussing grape varietals with a sommelier much faster than you anticipated. Swan and Dolphin For 2026, the event is also advertising new celebrity chef experiences featuring Todd English and Michael Mina. This is where the Classic starts feeling much closer to a true culinary event than a theme park festival. It Doesn’t Require a Park Ticket I cannot overstate how much I love this. The Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic is open to the general public. You don’t need to be staying at the resort, and you don’t need to buy a Disney World theme park ticket. 2022 Wristband for Food and Wine Classic That also makes this one of my favorite excuses to plan a full non-park day. Sleep in, spend some time by the pool, maybe make a Disney Springs detour, then head back to the hotel and trade the theme park clothes for something a little less Florida-soaked. Fried Apalachicola Oyster Sliders By the time you get to the Swan and Dolphin, “dinner” has turned into four hours of Wagyu short rib, dumplings, tacos, desserts, drinks, and whatever else pulls you toward another booth. I will take that kind of rest day every single time. I’ve Been Doing Disney Food for Decades. This One Still Wins Me Over. After 30+ years, it takes a little more to surprise me at Disney World. I’ve seen the snacks shaped like Mickey. I’ve eaten the limited-time cupcakes. I’ve attended the festivals. I’ve made the dining reservations. I’ve planned entire afternoons around food booths. I still love all of it. Swan and Dolphin Food and Wine Classic But the Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic still feels different from every other Disney food event I do. For four hours, I’m not thinking about rides, wait times, parade schedules, or whether I can cram one more thing into the night. The entire plan is food, drinks, music, and whatever catches my attention next. Swan & Dolphin Food & Wine Classic Eat something great. Try a new wine. Stop for the band. Go back for dessert. That’s the whole evening. And after more than 30 years of watching Disney vacations get more complicated, I think that simplicity is a big part of why I still love this event so much. For one night, the food gets to be the attraction. Tuna Bowl from 2022 Swan & Dolphin Food and Wine fest! The 2026 Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic takes place November 20th and 21st from 5 PM to 9 PM. Tickets are available to the general public, and you do not need to be a Swan and Dolphin hotel guest to attend. And yes, I will once again be approaching those unlimited tastings with all the restraint you would expect from someone who has spent 30+ years treating Disney food like a competitive sport. Which is to say, very little. 28. Your Disney World holiday trip could be tripped up thanks to these NEW rules! Luckily, we’re here to keep that from happening! From restrictions to having to pay more to get into the parks, there are a few things you NEED to know before you go! Magic Kingdom Yes, it may be two months away, but it’s time to start planning ahead, especially since the holidays are some of the busiest times at Disney World! So, let’s go through some rules that you may need to work around during your vacation! #1: Christmas Decorations Are Only For Hotel Guests If you were hoping to see some of the holiday decorations at the hotels and you’re not staying there, you may be out of luck. In a post about the holiday season, Disney stated, “For guests staying at the resorts or for those with valid dining reservations, the Disney Resorts Collection offers a wide array of bright and merry holiday decor.” This means that guests not staying or dining at these resorts will not get to experience the holiday decor. Wilderness Lodge Disney has also confirmed that the large gingerbread house inside the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa will not return. Instead, the hotel will feature a few small gingerbread displays made by Disney’s culinary team. The gingerbread displays at the other resorts, including the castle at the Contemporary and the carousel at the Beach Club, are expected to return. 2024 Gingerbread House at Grand Floridian Resort “Another Piece of Magic Taken Away.” Fans Are Devastated By the Loss of This Beloved Disney World Tradition #2: You May Need A Separate Ticket To Experience The Parks At Night Yes, that’s right… You may be paying for TWO tickets when you visit Disney World during the holidays. Why? Well, that’s because Disney World hosts two Christmas parties during the holidays, which are separately ticketed events. Magic Kingdom holds Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party while Hollywood Studios holds Jollywood Nights. On these days, the parks will close early to the general public. So, if you’re hoping to spend a full day in the parks, you will need to pay for a regular day ticket, as well as a party ticket. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Of course, you have the option of purchasing either a day ticket to the parks that aren’t holding a Christmas party that night or purchasing a park-hopper ticket and spending the first half of your day in the party park while going to another at night. You also don’t HAVE to buy two tickets — if you just want to go to the Christmas party, you don’t have to buy a day ticket… You can just buy the party ticket at night! Bo Peep at Jollywood Nights This Popular Lounge Will Be OPEN During Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party! #3: You Won’t Be Able To Take The Disney Springs Buses Unless You’re A Hotel Guest We saw transportation be limited during peak seasons last year, but now it is permanent. The buses and boats at Disney Springs now require guests to show a valid hotel or dining reservation to board. The dining reservations must also be within two hours of the reservation time. This means that guests will not be able to park at Disney Springs and hop on a bus to a resort. Keep this in mind if you’re staying off property this holiday season! Disney World Bus Everything You Need To Know About the New Disney Springs Transportation Rule #4: Mobile Ordering May Be Limited To Resort Guests During peak seasons, the My Disney Experience app will limit Mobile Ordering to guests staying at their particular resort. Although this has yet to be confirmed for the holidays, it’s entirely possible that this will return during the holidays. We’ve seen this happen at Gasparilla Island Grill at the Grand Floridian Resort, Capt. Cook’s at the Polynesian Village, Contempo Cafe at the Contemporary Resort, and Geyser Point at Wilderness Lodge. Geyser Point Bar & Grill If you do find yourself getting hungry at a resort you can’t Mobile Order at, don’t worry — you should still be able to walk up to the quick-service restaurant and order in person! We don’t need any guests being hangry on their magical vacation! FULL LIST: Disney World Quick Service Restaurants That Serve Breakfast and When They Open #5: The Polynesian Resort’s Beach May Be Limited To Hotel Guests Only Finally, you may not be able to watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the Polynesian Village Resort unless you’re staying there. The resort’s beach offers a GREAT view of the fireworks show each night, and they even pipe in the soundtrack, so you know where you’re at in the show. Many guests either monorail hop or walk over from the Grand Floridian to watch them on the beach, but you may not be able to during the holidays. In the past, we’ve seen Cast Members stationed in the walkways to make sure no one is where they’re not supposed to be. Keep this rule in mind to save you some steps! The Beach at the Polynesian Keep these five rules in mind if you have a Disney World vacation planned for the holidays, so you can have a smooth and magical trip!
