New Bests

Figment Fantasy Cake

Starting our list of best new items for 2026 is Figment’s Fantasy Cake, available at Figment’s Inspiration Station at the Odyssey Pavilion. This is a sponge cake filled with strawberry whipped cream, topped with a white chocolate ganache, orange icing, and white chocolate Figment wings for $5.79.

It’s essentially a piece of strawberry shortcake with a sugar — and strawberry — overload. If you’ve got a sweet tooth, you’re definitely going to appreciate this!

Popcorn, Popcorn Chicken, and Waffles

The other new item landing on the list from Figment’s Inspiration Station is the Popcorn, Popcorn Chicken, and Waffles. Yep, that’s right that “popcorn” is in the name twice because it’s a waffle topped with rainbow popcorn, popcorn chicken, mini mozzarella, and maple syrup. You can get it for $6.79, and it’s part of the Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine.

It’s the perfect mix of sweet and savory, plus it’s portable! What’s not to love, here? Fans of chicken and waffles will definitely want to put this on their must-try list.

Éclair au Chocolat et à l’Orange

At L’Art de la Cuisine Francaise in the France Pavilion, there are two delicious dishes we want to highlight. The first one is a new item, named literally, “Éclair au Chocolat et à l’Orange, Crème à l’Orange, Ganache au Chocolat, Croustillant de Noisettes et Oranges Confites.” Long, right?!

DFB-Eclair-au-Chocolat-et-a-lOrange-Lart

Éclair au Chocolat et à l’Orange

It’s a Chocolate-orange éclair, orange cream, chocolate ganache, crispy hazelnut, and candied oranges for $8.95, and it was delightful! The richness of the chocolate and the brightness of the orange pair really well together, and the crispy hazelnut adds some variety to the texture.

Dark Chocolate Torte

For one of the best new desserts at the festival, you’ll want to head to The Artist’s Table and snag the Dark Chocolate Torte. Flourless chocolate cake, whipped cream, and raspberries make up this treat that’s available for $6.49 in the American Adventure Pavilion.

The dark chocolate makes this treat rich and lightly sweetened, and it’s not bitter in the way that dark chocolate sometimes is. The raspberries were fresh and the cake was so moist. The crispy pieces helped vary the texture and it was overall decadent (a word we don’t use lightly!).

Taiyaki

At Goshiki in Japan, we had the Taiyaki, which is a crisp, flaky fish-shaped chocolate-flavored pastry filled with custard and served with whipped topping for $7.75. This one knocked our socks off! The pastry had a wonderfully flaky texture and light chocolate flavor.

The custard filling was just enough that it balanced flavors and textures, but not so much that it got overwhelming or made a mess. The whipped topping on the side was a great addition to even out some dry bits of the pastry as well.

Wild Berry Funnel Cake

Our last new item on the list is available at the Funnel Cakes stand in the American Adventure. The Wild Berry Funnel Cake is a funnel cake sandwich with vanilla ice cream and powdered sugar topped with brown sugar brandy-wild berry compote, whipped cream, and dark chocolate sauce for $12.50.

This was surprisingly light and refreshing for a funnel cake thanks to that berry compote! Everything tasted incredibly fresh and we were surprised at how balanced the flavors were.

Returning Bests

Deconstructed BLT

Starting our list of returning bests, we have the Deconstructed BLT at Deconstructed Dish. This is made with pork belly, soft poached egg, onion bread pudding, watercress espuma, and tomato jam for $7.29.

The pork belly is the star of this dish — flavorful, juicy, and savory. The best way to eat it is to just grab a little of everything on your fork…you won’t be disappointed.

Citrus-braised Beet Tartare

At Gourmet Landscapes, we had the Citrus-braised Beet Tartare for $5.49. This is a plant-based item made with golden beet “egg yolk,” mustard vinaigrette, pickled mustard seeds, pickled mushrooms, spiced pistachios, and “feta” snow. It’s also part of the Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine.

The crustini was a perfect crunchy and solid base, and we couldn’t even tell the plant-based feta apart from the real thing. The flavors mesh really well together and balance each bite.

Enchanted Rose

Opening Bites is home to the Enchanted Rose, which is a Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine item. It’s a dark chocolate mousse rose for $6.49, and it may sound simple, but it was STELLAR.

It’s aesthetically pleasing with the presentation, and even though the description said dark chocolate, it tasted like a rich balance of dark and milk chocolate to us. The cookie base adds a nice crunch.

Crème de Brie en Petit Pain

Heading back to L’Art de la Cuisine Francaise, we have a returning fan favorite to add to the list — the Crème de Brie en Petit Pain for $10.25, which is warm, creamy brie in a house-made bread bowl. This dish is popular year after year for its soft bread and delicious cheesy fondue. Who doesn’t love some bread and cheese, you guys?

This year, it was just as satisfying as it has been in the past. We highly recommend it!

Wagyu Bun

But that’s not all! Also making our list from Goshiki this year is the Wagyu Bun. It’s a steamed bun filled with sweet-and-savory minced American wagyu beef for $10.75. We’ve seen this bun in the past, but this year it has a fun purple color. Very artsy!

The meat was savory with a hint of sweetness from the bun, and there was a lot of filling inside. This is a great snack credit value and a wonderful savory treat overall.

Best Booth

Pastoral Palate

A food booth where we loved EVERYTHING we ate?! Yes, PLEASE. Pastoral Palate has a knock-it-out-of-the-park menu this year with rich and savory Red Wine-braised Beef Short Rib, a smooth and sweet Black Forest Cake, and the A Play on Rosé Flight that seriously impressed us.

Pastoral Palate

This booth is located in the Germany Pavilion, and if you ask our opinion, it’s a can’t-miss at the 2026 festival. We’ll be raving about this one for months!

Honorable Mention: El Artista Hambriento

Our runner-up best booth for the International Festival of the Arts goes to El Artista Hambriento! This booth in the Mexico Pavilion serves three delicious new food items — the Chile Relleno Taco, the Tostada de Cangrejo, and the Passion Fruit Paleta.

They also have two very unique and interesting beverages in the form of the Matcharita and the Pear-fect Margarita. Somehow this booth manages to balance intrigue and creativity with delicious flavors, and we are HERE for it. However, the deliciousness falls just shy of Pastoral Palate.

Best of the Fest for Kids

Head to Refreshment Outpost to get the item that we’re deeming “best for kids” at the 2026 Festival of the Arts! This is the Artist Palette Jumbo Chocolate Chip Cookie for $5.79 and it’s as entertaining as it is yummy.
