I love trying new things while on vacation, especially at Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa in Hawai‘i. There are an abundance of activities for the whole ‘ohana to experience (and maybe learn) something new. It’s no wonder HAWAI‘I Magazine just named Aulani Resort the Best Resort for Families on O‘ahu!

Here are a few family activities to check out at Aulani Resort:

‘Ohana Painting Party: Some say a photo is worth a thousand words, so a painting must be worth a million! Unlock your inner artist and paint a beautiful Aulani-inspired masterpiece. Our team at the Pau Hana Community Hall will supply all the art supplies and provide painting tips. Your painting is yours to take home!

Painting with Light: If you’d like to flex your photography skills, join our Disney PhotoPass Photographers as they teach how to creatively capture “light” in the evening. The program is great for all ages will begin with an introduction on manual camera settings, before the group heads out after sunset!

Ho‘okanipila – Learn the ‘Ukulele: Join our talented cast in the Pau Hana Community Hall as they share the history of several traditional Hawaiian instruments and teach you how to play one of the most popular instruments in Hawai‘i, the ‘Ukulele! After learning a few chords, play along to some of today’s popular songs.

Kāpala Ki’i – T-Shirt Stamping: Intricately carved bamboo stamps called ‘ohe kapala were traditionally used to decorate and embellish fine kapa (bark cloth). In this Pau Hana Community Hall activity, design your own t-shirt using stamps inspired by the art of Native Hawaiian kapa printing. The t-shirt with your own-of-a-kind story is yours to keep!
